Chapter 16 – Identity
It was late Sunday and though I knew they might not be there I drove directly to the park where I had met the Gallos. It was hard to believe but only two weeks had passed.
They were there again, in the same spot.
I pulled up and killed the bike. “Stay here Julie, I need to talk to these guys.”
Julie took off her helmet but stayed on the bike.
As I approached the short one recognized me. “Cabron! I didn’t think I would ever see you again. So you got a job for us or what?”
“The job has changed.” He frowned. “Don’t worry. It’s gonna be easier now, but I’ll still pay the same.”
“Sounds good to me. What do you want us to do?”
I explained to him just exactly what I wanted.
“Ok Ca... uh, Malik? I’ll have to talk to my friend but I think we can do that.”
“Good. It had better be good quality and work as designed or I’ll be pissed, and you won’t like me when I’m pissed.”
“We ain’t afraid of you gavacho.” He seemed offended. Turning to the big dumb guy at his back he said “Lorenzo, show this gavacho we ain’t afraid of him.”
The big guy stepped up and reached for my throat but I sidestepped and slapped his arm away. He tried to backhand me but I ducked. So he tried a haymaker but I blocked it and kicked him in the balls. That seemed to just make him angrier. He roared and tried to grab me but I stepped into him and delivered an uppercut that snapped his head back.
Staggering backwards a couple of steps he shook his head as if to clear out the cobwebs. “Now I’m gonna have to kill you.” His voice sounded like a car sliding to a stop on a gravel drive.
The little guy was reaching for something is his boot and the big guy charged. I sidestepped and tripped him with my right leg, his momentum carried him a good nine feet before he finally lost his battle to stay upright and sprawled on the ground. I didn’t watch that though, I spun and caught the incoming knife with my left arm and twisted it from the little guy’s grip. Then I twisted his pinky finger backward until he went to his knees.
“Listen. There’s no need for this. We have an arrangement. Have the package here next week if you want to get paid, and make sure it’s going to work if you don’t want to see me again. Alright?”
He nodded.
The big guy was charging again. I didn’t dodge. I hit him right in the chest with the heel of my hand. He staggered, gasping for breath and went to his knees.
I turned to the little guy. “We got a deal?”
He nodded again. “Yeah man. We got a deal.”
“Good. I’ll meet you here Tuesday evening at seven. No funny business or no money.” I paused for effect. “We good?”
Nod. “Yeah, we’re good.”
“Good. Been a pleasure doing business with you.”
When we arrived at the yacht there was a joyous reunion, even though none of the three groups of girls actually knew the others. There were Julie and Kristen from my original group, there were Elena, Rosa, Lynn, Teri and Tayesha from my Mexico, Japan, San Francisco trip, and there were Artesia, Candace, Carmel, Murphy, Joyce and Sheryl from Clay’s compound. A total of thirteen women.
Casey and Kai were moving north along the coast, looking for a new home for us all.
Most of the rest were at the new house. Adiva, Stefani, Chahna, Ashley and some of the girls from Arizona. The rest would be arriving tomorrow and we were already out of space for them, unless we used the Royal Regent again. I needed the old house, but Rodriguez was still a threat.
“Lynn, I need you and Teri to do something for me.” I explained what I wanted.
About an hour later I called Elena and Rosa into the main cabin. We hugged and kissed. “It’s nice to see you two again, I missed you.”
“Egualmente mi señor.” Rosa replied in spanish, and kissed me again.
“That’s nice Rosa, but business before pleasure. Did you get the computers I told Stefani to buy for you?”
“Yes.” Said Elena. “Two robust laptops and a server. We also bought Studio .Net, Office 2010, and the Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection. Anything else we need we can download.”
“Good.” I then explained to them about the web site I wanted them to design. We talked about security protocols, backups and other technical details that I’m sure would bore most people.
“One more thing.” I said when we were finished with that subject. “We have to neutralize your brother.”
They looked at each other with concern.
“Don’t worry, I don’t mean to kill him, but I want him to leave us alone.”
They nodded.
“So we’re going to call him right now and ask him to do just that.”
I had picked up an extra cell phone on the way back from the park. One of those disposable jobs. I put it on the table in speakerphone mode and dialed Rodriguez’ cell number.
“You two talk to him first. See if you can get him to stop hounding us.”
I used my other cell to call Lynn. “Are you in position?” I asked when she picked up.
“Yes Master. We have a clean shot through the window.”
“Describe what you see in the room.”
She did and I gave her my instructions.
Meantime Elena and Rosa were pleading with Rodriguez to leave us alone.
“I will not leave you with that chingado gavacho!” he exclaimed.
It was time for me to enter the conversation. “Rodriguez this is Sam.”
“Hijo del Diablo! I will kill you gringo.”
“I’m sorry you feel that way. I just want you to know that that can work both ways. Did you enjoy yourself at the ranch?”
He swore. “I lost many good men. But your people all died.”
“Those were not my people, they were my enemies. You did my dirty work for me.”
There was a pause. “Elena… the note… fue un engaño?”
“Yes brother. It was designed to mislead you.”
There was some cussing in Spanish from the other end. I didn’t understand all of it.
“The point is Rodriguez, that if you continue to try to kill me I’ll be forced to kill you. For the sake of Elena and Rosa I’d rather avoid that.”
“You think I am so easy to kill? You cannot touch me!”
I switched to the other phone. “Now Lynn.”
On the speaker phone there was the sound of tumbling furniture as Rodriguez and his men dove from the kitchen chairs to the floor, and more cussing in Spanish.
“You still there Rodriguez?”
After a moment “Yes, I am still here. You cannot kill me so easily.”
“That shot wasn’t meant to kill. If I had wanted to kill you, that bullet would have entered your right eye instead of the Pope’s.” Lynn had told me there was a calendar on the wall with the Pope’s picture. I told her to place the shot in the Pope’s right eye.
There was another moment of silence. I knew Rodriguez was examining Lynn’s handy work from his place of concealment. “What do you want?”
“Just what your sisters have been trying to tell you. Leave us alone. Stop hounding me. There is no reason for us to be at each other’s throats. In fact, we might even be able to form a bit of a working relationship. If we can get along I’ll even let you visit your nieces and nephews when they’re born.”
“They are with child?”
“Probably, if past history is any indicator.” I paused. “Get back to Mexico Rodriguez. Don’t force me to take you out.”
There was a sigh from the other end. “Ok. Alright. Goodbye Elena, goodbye Rosa. Can you call me at least once a month to let me know how you are?”
“I think that can be arranged.” I said. It was interesting that now that he had lost them he was a concerned brother, but while he had them at home he treated them like property. I wondered what kind of thinking justified that kind of behavior.
“Very well. I leave for Mexico tomorrow.”
We hung up and I told Lynn to watch the place and follow him when he left to make sure he was leaving the country.
“Now,” I said with a smile, “pleasure.”
I called Julie and Kristen into the cabin. Then I asked them to stand around the big bed, one at each corner, and I started to slowly undress them, one at a time.
I wanted to take my time with them tonight.
As the last article of clothing dropped from their bodies I laid them back onto the bed, legs dangling over the side.
I commanded them all to remain conscious until I said otherwise.
“You know I love all of you don’t you?”
They all nodded and Kristen said “We love you too Master, we would do anything for you.”
“I know babe. But this moment is for the four of you. I want you to enjoy it.”
I removed my own clothes and stepped between the dangling legs of Rosa. Leaning over her I took her right nipple into my mouth and licked and sucked until she moaned aloud. Then I let my rod slide into her warm, wet hole. She was ready for me and she wrapped her legs around me as her body pulsed and spasmed.
“Ay Dios mio… tan sabroso.”
I slowly pumped into her a few more times, by then she was breathing hard and tears were running down from the corners of her eyes.
“Why are you crying Rosa?”
Shaking her head she said “I… cannot believe… how happy… I am.”
“Good.” I kissed her, then disentangled myself from her and went to Elena.
“Are you ready for this Elena?”
“Oh God yes. It has been too long since you had me Sam, and it was so hot watching what you did to Rosa just now.”
So I repeated my performance of Rosa with Elena.
When I had her gasping for air from multiple orgasms I pulled out and went to Kristen.
“My sweet Kristen. I’m so happy to have you back.” With that I plunged into her and kept at her until she was breathless.
Then I went to Julie.
“Julie my love.” Now I started to cry. “I thought I’d never see you again. I can’t tell you how much joy I feel that you’re with me again.”
“Darling Sam, I’ve missed you too, and I want you now. Please take me.”
So I repeated the same thing I had done with the others. When she was gasping for breath I went back to Rosa and started over. I kept going from one to the next, keeping them in a state of arousal and orgasm. After a couple of hours of this I was getting pretty tired and they were all incapable of any but the simplest form of communication, moans and groans mostly.
I decided it was time and removed all restrictions from Rosa, Elena and Julie. I took them each one last time and they each vocalized their ecstasy in their own unique way and passed out.
I had saved Kristen for last on purpose. “Kristen. I have to go into hiding. I love you so much, and I don’t want to leave you behind, but there is something I need you to do, that only you can do. I need you to take charge of your grandfathers company. Stefani will stay to help you. We’ll be able to get together from time to time but not very often. So this may be the last time we’re together for a while. I just want you to know how much I care for you.”
She nodded and blinked away tears.
Now, I want you to feel great pleasure feeling me inside you, but don’t pass out until I come. I commanded.
Then I slid my shaft into her again and she moaned deeply. “Aaahhhhhnnnnnnn”
With each stroke she shook and moaned. She wrapped her legs and arms around me a pulled me into her.
Finally I was ready and I started stroking with a purpose, and that purpose was my own orgasm. Kristen was out of control, her body was just reacting to the immense pleasure, her mind was not in evidence. Then I came.
I lay on top of her for a few minutes. There was no room in the bed to roll to the side. Finally I pushed myself onto my feet and stood on wobbly legs for a minute.
All four women were sleeping peacefully.
That’s when I saw the flaw in my plan. There was no room in the bed for me and it was time to sleep.
Picking up a robe and a blanket I made my way to the deck and lay back in a lounge chair.
When I woke the sun was just coming up over the mountains behind San Diego.
I glanced around the deck and saw someone disappear down the ladder to the dock. Going to the rail I saw Artesia and Candace slip into the water and start swimming laps. Candace made it look easy, like an art form. Artesia was having a harder time but Candace coached her and helped her with her form. It wouldn’t be long before Artesia would be in better shape and would be able to keep up.
Going down to the main cabin I roused the women in my bed. They each hugged me and put their clothes back on.
My cell phone rang. It was my grandfather. “Hello Avery. What’s up?”
“Hi Sam. I’m afraid it’s bad news Sam. They’re coming for us. We tried but the Hunters had the votes in committee. Slavers are now considered subversive and are subject to arrest.”
“That is bad news, but not totally unexpected. Do you have a contingency plan?”
“Yeah, I’ll be fine. How about you?”
“I have something in the works. How long before they show up?”
“Hard to tell. It’ll probably take them a couple of days to get organized. You should probably get rid of the cell phone and not use the phone for any sensitive information.”
“Thanks. And good luck gramps.”
“I told you not to call me that.” He laughed. “Good luck to you son.”
After I hung up I was just thinking about taking the battery out of my phone when it rang. It was Casey.
“Master, we’ve found a place.”
“Ok. Let’s not talk about this on the phone. Remember how I communicated with you when you were on the plane in Mexico?”
“Yes.”
“Good. Hang up and be ready to fill me in.”
I closed the phone.
Casey. I’m listening to your thoughts. Tell me what you’ve found.
We’re near San Luis Obispo. We found an old cattle ranch that had been converted into a… well I guess dude ranch is the only way to describe it. People would come here from the city to ride horses and see what ranch life was all about. There is one large ranch house with six bedrooms, and seven smaller homes on the property. It’s a hundred and seventy six acres, if which about twenty is arable land and the rest is hillside pasture. It’s been out of business for a couple of years and is about to be foreclosed. It’s available as a short sale for four and a half million. It’s near enough to Moro Bay that you could leave the yacht there.
It sounds perfect. If you like it buy it. Do it under the name of Julie Ortega. Did I forget to tell you that I found Julie and Kristen alive?
That’s wonderful. How?
I’ll tell you when I see you. We’ll bring the money in a few days. I’ll see you then.
I opened the phone and pulled the battery. Both phone and battery went over the side into the salt water.
After breakfast I gathered everyone on the yacht together. “Ok, here is what I want you all to do. I want to make a spectacle of you. I want you all to dress in skimpy bikinis and sun on the deck of the yacht. I want you to attract as much attention as you can. Your job is to be eye candy for anyone watching.” I scanned the group. There was one exception. “Artesia, you’ll have to be the exception. I want you to dress as the chef. There’s a galley below and I remember seeing some chef’s smocks. Can you cook?”
“I used to cook, but it’s been a while.”
“Well, brush off that spatula and see what you can do.”
I figured the government still didn’t know about the yacht. They might figure it out but it would probably take them a few days. So I was pretty safe here.
I finally had some time to examine those hard drives I had pulled from the Hunter’s compound. They had lots of data.
If I had been prepared to deal the Hunters a final blow this would have been invaluable information. There were names of group leaders and locations of groups all over the country. Unfortunately I just didn’t have the manpower to take on a campaign like that. There was nothing listed for the SLO area where we were going to be moving though and that was a relief.
They also had lists of known and suspected Slavers with addresses and phone numbers. That was something I could use. I bought several throw away cell phones and distributed them to the girls along with a sheet of phone numbers for Slavers in various parts of the country.
“Change of plans for today. I want you to call the people on these lists and tell them that the Hunters know where they are and that they need to disappear as soon as possible. Also tell them to check for our web site in couple of months, it’s designed to let us Slavers work together in the fight against the Hunters and other enemies.”
And that was how the rest of that day went. Oh I took time to be with some of the girls, I hadn’t been with Tayesha for a while and we spent a good part of the afternoon getting reacquainted, but meanwhile the business of contacting the Slavers went on.
They were all finished with their lists by early evening.
The next day the girls just lounged around on the deck and relaxed.
Most people who passed by on the dock stared openly at all the flesh on display. We ignored them.
I also took some time to go through Clive’s belongings. His clothes, some papers, there was a passport and a California Driver’s License. We all searched the yacht thoroughly and made sure there was nothing illegal on board.
I found a fishing boat for sale at the marina and paid cash for it. It was a big boat, with a conning tower and racks of fishing poles and best of all it was gasoline powered, not diesel. I had my reasons.
The rest of the gang from Arizona arrived and were housed at the old house. Lynn and Teri spent the day getting acquainted with them. I told Lynn not to worry about finding a place for training, we’d be leaving soon and we’d have plenty of space where we were going.
Then in the late afternoon I headed for the park on my bike. The Gallos were there waiting for me.
I examined the suitcase the little one handed me. “Can I open it?”
“Sure, how else you gonna set the timer?”
I popped it open and checked the mechanism. I was no expert on bombs but this looked like it would work. The case was full of plastique. A section by the handle was left empty for the timer which was a digital counter with a single button labeled ‘Arm’.
“If this is a dud I’ll find you, you know that don’t you?”
“Yeah I know. Don’t worry, Esteban knows what he’s doin’.”
I gave him half of the money I had promised and strapped the suitcase to the back of the motorcycyle.
“Hey,” he objected, “you said twenty Gs.”
“You’ll get the other half when it explodes properly.”
He sighed and turned to his companion. “Bring Esteban.”
In less than a minute a medium build man in knee length shorts and a white tee-shirt appeared carrying a tool pouch.
The little guy said. “Fix it right.”
The new guy shrugged and opened the suitcase. “Thirty seconds, right?” he looked at me for the answer.
“Right.”
He made a couple of adjustments and closed the case. “All set.”
“Thank you gentlemen. It’s a pleasure doing business with you.” I said.
I don’t know what the bomb was originally set to do but I suspected I was going to be the victim of an untimely explosion. I was fairly confident it would work as prescribed now. Fairly confident.
The next morning I took the fishing boat to the marina gas pump and filled it up. I used my credit card to pay. Then I tooled slowly out of the marina, watching the docks the whole time for any abnormal activity. Sure enough, a couple of black SUVs came roaring in and some men in dark suits and dark glasses piled out. A couple went to the gas station and talked to the attendant and even though I was quite a ways off I saw him point in my direction.
Good enough. I gunned the engine and headed out to sea.
About twenty minutes later a helicopter appeared and circled me. I looked around and saw a Coast Guard cutter approaching at high speed.
I continued out to deep ocean at full throttle. It would be another half hour before they caught up to me.
Just as they were getting into firing range I went to the back of the boat and made sure they got a good look at me. Then I picked up an AK popped off a dozen rounds in their direction.
The gun mounted at the front of the cutter came alive and a trail of water spouts led to my boat before a couple of large holes exploded in the side of the boat. It was time for me to bail.
They were on the loud speaker telling me to surrender.
I opened the suitcase and armed the timer. I had thirty seconds.
Standing in plain view I waved them off and raised the AK again, firing off a few more rounds before diving to the floor.
I focused on where I wanted to be and… I was laying in my bed on the yacht.
Now there was something else I had to do. I didn’t know how long it would take but I hoped that by the next morning it would be finished.
Agent Colm McAffee watched from the wheel house of the Coast Guard cutter as the perp stood and waved them off, then fired an automatic weapon in their direction. ‘Stupid.’ He thought.
He didn’t really understand who this guy Sam was or what he’s done but the word was that he was a threat to national security, and it was Colm’s job to bring him in.
The fifty-caliber in the bow of the cutter opened up again and chewed big chunks of fiberglass from the fishing boat, starting at the bow and walking all down the side to the stern. ‘I hope that poor slob doesn’t get hit by one of those fiftys or there won’t be enough left of him to pick up.
Just then there was a massive explosion. The blast was so strong it blew the back of the fishing boat clean off. A secondary explosion occurred as the boat began to settle and sent a huge column of flame skyward. It only took a few seconds for the boat to sink out of sight.
“Well. Scratch one bad guy. Our job here is done, let’s go home.”
But when they got back to the docks there were some other agents there to meet him. One was a short muscular man with a bald head and a dark goatee. The other was an average looking guy with sandy hair.
Shorty approached him. “Jake Orcutt. This is Ed. How sure are you that he’s dead?”
“Pretty damned sure.” Colm said with a chuckle. “Come on, I’ll show you the video.”
So they followed him to a local office and they downloaded the video to a laptop. After watching it he prompted “So what do you think? Is he dead or is he dead?”
“I have to admit it looks pretty convincing. I think we can scratch this guy off our list, don’t you Ed?” Shorty asked.
Ed sighed. “I’m satisfied.”
“Good job agent McAffee. I’ll be sure to mention you in my report.”
“Thanks.” Colm responded as they both walked out the door. That was weird, they just show up and then just disappear. What was it that bothered him about them? He thought it must be that they were just too casual about follow-up. He knew he had a few more days on the case to trace any money and friends the guy had. All these guys cared about was that the perp was dead.
The next morning Colm went down to the docks to talk to people who frequented the area. He learned that the man who had died yesterday used to hang around a nice yacht parked in slip sixty-nine.
As he approached the yacht he noticed several gorgeous women already sunning themselves on the foredeck. One of them saw him approach and met him at the gangplank. “Can I help you?” She was a stunning black woman with short straight hair.
“Yes. Sorry to intrude. I’m Agent McAffee with the FBI and I’m following up on a suspected terrorist. The man’s already dead but I was told he used to spend time on this boat. Do you recognize him?”
She took the picture from him and nodded. “Sure. He was here for a few days but I have’nt seen him since yesterday morning.”
“What was his business on your boat?”
“Oh it’s not my boat.”
“Then who is the owner?”
“That would be me.” A tall muscular black man with dreadlocks had appeared behind the black woman. She seemed startled.
“And you are…?”
“I am Clive Jackson and you’re on my boat cracker. Only my friends come on my boat and I know you ain’t my friend. So why don’t you go on back to wherever it is you came from.”
“You have any ID Mr. Jackson?”
Jackson just looked disgusted. “Candace baby would you fetch my wallet and passport from my cabin? That’s a good girl.”
A tall slim black woman with broad shoulders disappeared to down below. She emerged a minute later with said wallet and passport. All seemed to be in order when McAffee examined the documents.
“Mr. Jackson, under the authority of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2001 I can search you boat since I have direct evidence that you were harboring a known terrorist just a couple of days ago.”
“Is that so Mr. Policeman?” he put extra emphasis on the “o”. “Julie, you hear that? Mr. Policeman say he can search our boat.” His smile was vicious. “Why don’t you go right on ahead Mr. Policeman. I got nothin’ to hide. Search away. And bring some friends so you can get done faster, I don’t want to waste my whole day with your stupid games. You people is always tryin’ to hassle me but I done figured out a long time ago that it don’t pay to get mad about it. It’s just about what a black man has to expect from the law.”
Colm thought for a minute. A search would probably do no good, this guy seemed like the kind of criminal who was used to covering his tracks. Besides he wasn’t really interested in busting another drug dealer right now. “I’m sure there won’t be any need to search your boat Mr. Jackson, if you could just explain your relationship with this man.” He took the picture from the black woman Julie and handed it to Jackson.
Jackson sighed. “Sure. I know the guy. He stayed here a few days. Paid me a lot of cash to let him use a cabin. I figured he was hidin’ from someone but I didn’t know who…, until now.” He handed the picture back to McAffee.
“So you didn’t know him before he rented a cabin from you?”
“Nope.”
“Do you make a habit of renting cabins to strangers?”
“Nope. But if I find another one willing to pay five thousand dollars a night I will definitely take him up on it. Especially if he look like a weenie nerd like this guy, I got nothin’ to worry about.”
McAffee sighed. “Alright, I get it. Did anyone visit this guy while he was on board?”
“I done tol’ you, he was hidin’ out. Ain’t nobody come see him and he didn’t talk much.”
“Very well Mr. Jackson. I guess that wraps up my business with you. You have a nice day.” McAffee said automatically as he turned to leave. He’d probably never learn anything else about this Sam Williams character. Well, he was dead anyway, so what did it really matter? Time to go home.”
Julie turned with a questioning look when the agent was out of sight. “I know it’s you Sam. Don’t ask me how, but I just know. But how did you do it? You’re…, you’re black…, and you’re magnificent to boot.”
“We haven’t had much time to talk since you’ve been back Julie, but I’ve been discovering some new abilities while you were gone, one of which was that I can change my body shape given enough time. I wasn’t sure I could pull it off so completely overnight, but for now I’m Clive Jackson, all the way down to the fingerprints, which Clive was kind enough to have copies of in his files. Another thing I learned is that I can teleport. Like from an exploding boat to the safety of my cabin.”
“And where is the real Clive?”
“Oh, he’s dead. At the bottom of the ocean.”
“So Sam Williams is dead now. They’ll stop looking for you.”
“On the nose. I knew you were a smart girl.”
“You know Sam, er, Clive. I’ve only been with two men in my life. I’ve never been with a black man.” She winked.
“I think we can remedy that.” He said with a smile.
Tayesha was standing outside the com as they turned to go below.
“Set sail for Moro Bay Tayesha. Let’s go home.”
