5 comments/ 22659 views/ 9 favorites The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 02 By: HorniBunni Christian realised something about werewolves. They weren't stupid mongrels. Nope they were in fact rather clever. He realised this when he tried to materialise out of the room, a silver door lay on the other side of the oak one. The windows were barred with fine slivers of silver. The room was rather cosy, a nice soft bed, and calming light blue walls. Yep like the Ritz, a plush prison. [Where the hell are you?] Came an angry voice. He winced as he heard Simon in the background, mumbling about school and lawns. Righty, just because he looked eighteen, didn't mean squat. He was three hundred years old, he knew all there was to know. Social services didn't agree. Christian let out a deep sigh, startling his hot guard out of what ever deep thoughts she had. [I'm kinda tied up] [Do you mean that figuratively...] [I mean it as in I have silver chains burning my skin faster than it can heal,] he snapped. There just had to be away out. [See what happens when you go slaying on a school night? What the hell are you doing at the de Groudané place? Simon!] He just loved these guys he rolled his eyes. Just then the door opened. A cool looking dude walked in, a loving look passed between him and the red head, though she was genuinely in her teens, he seemed a bit older, mayhap two hundred years? Christian shrugged. "Well, vampire you have survived this night because you helped my students." Christian relished his grimace. As the old man prattled on about the age old war between vampire and werewolf, he couldn't help but gaze at the beautiful she-wolf, her green eyes stared adoringly at her grandpa, he also took into account the amount of girls ogling him. And the dark haired boy glaring evilly. "And so you see we shall let you go." Christian gritted his teeth, thank god! If this was the welcoming party to the new neighbourhood, he'd hate to see the initiation. He rubbed his wrist as the chains came of, slowing the healing as to not catch the wolves attention. "Umm, grandpa, how does the vampire leave?" the red head asked. Christian nodded, how indeed? He could just walk out, then they would realise something was up and honestly he was sick of having to hide from lynch mobbing werewolves and self righteous vampires. Just then a horn blew. "Well this was all very nice, but... bye," swirling into a dark mist, he made through the door, sweeping though the hallways and down the stairs. A window happened to be open and he quickly filtered through it, making a show of seeping into the boot. Jessica shook her head, and wondered if she'd ever cross paths with him again. He had to be the most flippant and easy going vampire she had met. "That was a foolish thing to do Vincent." Michael growled, staring disdainfully at the bed. Vincent shrugged, "he saved your lives." Jessica nodded, he had and they had spared him, debt repaid. Jessica hated shopping, especially when it was her turn to do the groceries. The bustling noise of the supermarket always made her ears ring, no matter how much she tried to turn down the volume. "But Mary, Oreos are good for my health." Jessica paused, that voice she had heard it before she was sure. She turned slowly to the biscuit isle, and froze. A vampire here? She could sense it's taint of evil, no matter how suppressed. He seemed to be talking to a werewolf, couldn't she tell he was a vampire? Then again it had been proven that some werewolves lacked that seventh sense. She approached them carefully, there was nothing she could do, there were too many humans about. Damn! She decided she would watch them, the werewolf could be in danger. Christian could smell her a mile away. An earthy smell, mixed with orange and berries. He smiled wickedly, as soon as he got home and was lectured by Mary, they had cut his hair and dyed it black, although his tattoo still remained there was nothing they could do about it since it covered the whole of his left chest and arm. "Werewolf at two o'clock," he nodded to Mary then turned round the isle towards the frozen food section. Mary stopped to browse some canned goods and waited for the werewolf to approach her. Jessica thanked the moon, the vampire was now gone. She had to warn the werewolf before something happened to her. She pushed the trolley beside her and pretended to look at some of the items. Mary watched the young girl out of the corner of her eye, just what was she up to? She would have said something by now, knowing how were-hunters were like. "You are in grave danger." Jessica said in French. Mary looked at her puzzled. "That boy you were with is a vampire." "Boy indeed!" Mary chuckled as Christian snarled. Poor baby, it would take a long time for him to age dramatically. Mary observed the werewolf. She was very beautiful, she'd give her that. She was definitely part of the royal family, their blue blood ran strong. She had an elfish face with electrifying green eyes, and a well formed body perfect for breeding. "Oh no, you must be mistaken. My Chris isn't a vampire. He just has a lot of vampire residue." [Vampire residue] Christian scoffed, before walking towards them once more, arm filled with frozen goods. He froze as soon as he saw her. Damn she looked good when he wasn't blinded by pain. "It's ok Chris she's a good one." Chris cocked an eyebrow before catching on. Mary was evil! He could see a little smile upon her lips. He was supposed to be scared of the little mongrel. Damn, but he could kill her and her whole race. Swallowing his pride, he moved warily towards them. "No werewolf is good, Mary" he said. Jessica looked fit to burst. If he wasn't human she would have staked him already. How dare he say that! Mary burst out laughing, and ruffled Christian hair. "Thank you for the warning...?" "Jessica, Jessica de Groudané" she shook the woman's hand in greeting. Before whirling around with her trolley, cursing the day Chris breathed air into his lungs. "See you at school Miss de Groudané" Jessica stiffened then hurried her pace, she would not be frightened by a mere mortal. "Must you do that?" Jessica snapped for the fifth time that day. She, Toni and Michael were sitting under a willow tree waiting for the bell that signalled the end of lunch time. Jessica was having a hard time concentrating, she kept on expecting Chris to pop up somewhere, but for the whole day she hadn't seen him and for some unfathomable reason she was disappointed. She wanted to see him, to rile him up. But mainly because, without a doubt he was the most beautiful human she had seen. Dark black hair that curled around his ears and neck. Hard muscles that for an eighteen year old were astounding. A strong jaw and nose, but eyes that screamed softness, and those lips oh those lips. "By the grace of the moon!" Toni whistled. Jessica followed her gaze to where a dark haired boy sauntered towards them. He wore a turtle neck, a scarf and dark jeans, with glasses perched on his nose. He sent Jessica a lazy smile that sent her heart pounding. "So we meet again," he stood so proudly, his arms folded across his chest, he had so much power, she could sense that good or bad he was an enigma. "Do you know this guy, Jessica?" Michael snarled. "Down boy." Chris, patted his coat pockets and shrugged "Sorry, but I've run out of dog treats" Chris could feel their anger like a scorching wave of heat, but he just had to laugh, if only they knew. He was sure he was making a mistake. These guys would make great allies. He shook his head, he always worked alone. He couldn't look after anyone else, of that he was sure. "I think you better go Chris, or we may just eat you," he could see the flames dancing in Jessica's eyes, he bit back his retort and smiled cheerfully. "Of course, my vampire residue may rub of on you," he had no idea where that came from, but it seemed to stun them long enough for him to make a brilliant exit. Jessica sighed, even when he was insulting she couldn't help but be drawn to his beauty. It made her feel things she shouldn't have felt when he turned and winked before vanishing into the throng of people. Jessica met Toni's gaze and knew what was coming next. "Ok so spill, where did you meet and just who is he?" so for the next fifteen minutes she told an excited Toni and a peeved Michael all about the supermarket meeting. "Well all I can say is that as soon as we finish school and you become my mate, there wont be a chance for you to 'bump' into boys." Jessica bristled with anger. He was so full of himself. Did he honestly think she was so weak and feeble as to drop her whole future and become his bitch? She wanted her own future, her own partner. She would sooner marry Chris than Michael. [I heard that, girl and to tell you truth I'm proud of you. for a moment there I thought you may just cave in.] Jessica scoffed mentally. She would never be Michael's mate. Never! Jessica had promised Toni she would give her a lift back to the mansion, after cheerleading practice. It still amazed Jessica that a social rebel such as Toni, could be a cheerleader. Her excuse was that she was making a statement and wanted to piss of the captain. Jessica knew that being a cheerleader was Toni's way of getting some normal balance into her life. Her ear twitched as she heard the sound of a twig snapping, then the rapid beating of a werepup's heart. She turned to the bushes, her eyes scanning through every opening between the twigs and leaves. She walked stealthily, hearing another heartbeat, thudding almost as loud, but in angry protest. Suddenly a brown haired boy burst through the leaves, with a scared look on his face. He backed away slowly. "Hey kid!" she yelled, searching through her pockets, she could definitely smell vampire. The fact that it was hunting one of her own made her doubly mad. "Jake," came a raspy voice. The boy shook his head. Jessica watched as he took of the headphones around his neck and offered it to the shadow. She braced herself as the leaves shook. Then Chris jumped from them barring fangs. She knew it! She ran towards him stake in hand. Christian could hear Jessica running towards him. Damn him for a fool. Scaring Jake didn't involve being staked. In those few seconds he was doubly glad that they were in a secure place. Because when a thirteen year old boy suddenly turned into an angry wolf, well that would be hard to explain to a human. He couldn't help but smile when his adopted brother stood before a highly trained were-hunter. Baring small razor like teeth. "What have you done to his mind, vampire scum!" He could see a tick forming in her temple. Any hope of having a friend in her dashed. Revealing his true identity meant death and to all those who protected him. He couldn't do that to his adopted family. They were like a real family to him. God damn it! They were his family. He patted Jake on the head, soothing the little boy. "It is alright, mon freré. Calm down, she wont bite," slowly Jake began to turn back, Chris took of his coat and wrapped it around his brother. The little boy looked menacingly at the girl. "Hurt my brother and you die!" "Jake! What have I told you about threatening people, Chris can look after himself" this was all getting too confusing for Jessica. Out of nowhere appeared a vision. Like a god. Dark hair spilled over his shoulders, piercing blue eyes turned to the delectable female before him. Jessica found his presence soothing. She lowered her stake. No werewolf defended a vampire over another werewolf. This werepup was a mere child. He knew no better. "Damn you Steve, as soon as I cut mine, you grow yours. Sometimes I think you do things like that just to get on my nerves." "Yeah, cos I have nothing better to do. Anyway what are you doing out in daylight, ma said you gone all vamp." Christian sent him a withering look, that would have curdled cream. "Umm, hello, your adversary here." Jessica waved her arms in front of his face "Oh sorry I forgot," Jessica fumed. He should be afraid. With two werewolves, not including the little kid (since he had been brain washed) he should be shaking his boots. "Look Jess, I think we should schedule this for another time. If its any consolation I'm strictly vegetarian when it comes to humans, can't stand the taste," he shivered, campy before vanishing in a poof of smoke. "Come on little brother," before she knew it she was alone, totally confused. When Toni found her she had an alarmed look on her face. "A vegetarian vampire," she said before bursting out laughing. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 03 The next time Jessica saw Chris was in biology. Toni and Michael were in a totally different lesson to her and somehow she was now sitting next to a vampire. There was only one seat left that was shrouded in total darkness, he sat there reclining on the lab stool, a pen tucked behind a well formed ear. "Oh, god." Jessica groaned as he smiled and waved at her energetically. Every person in the room had their eyes glued to him. he was so powerful and beautiful it was hard not to be drawn to him. Jessica reluctantly sat by his side, unsure of what he was going to do. these humans were not safe with him around, and it was her duty to save them. "What are you doing here?" Jessica hissed as the teacher began her lesson. "That's not very nice." Christian raised an eyebrow at her "There was me thinking you'd be glad to see me." "Fat chance." She scoffed, scribbling down s something about haemoglobin, she growled as she heard his mocking laughter. "I love you too". For some reason his words caused her heart to beat rapidly, what was wrong with her? He smiled wickedly as if reading her mind, but she knew that wasn't true because werewolves had shields over their minds against vampires. They could only hear telepathic messages. "Why are you here? What is you want? Why were those werewolves protecting you?" Christian rubbed his head, so many questions. Jessica waited for him patiently, who exactly was this vampire. "Meet me in the gym closet at break". Jessica was just about to say 'as if' when the bell rang, with a flick of his hand he became a dark mist swirling in the air and filtering through the door. Jessica gathered her things slowly. If she didn't meet him, it would seem rude. Plus there had been times when he could have hurt her, right? Some how deep down she knew he wouldn't. he was a vampire her mortal enemy, yet she felt at ease with him. maybe it was just because he had helped her and her pack. Yes that had to be it. She would tell him that if he approached her again she would stake him. "Hey Jessie, wait up!" Toni skidded to her side, her skateboard Harry tucked under her arm. "You were pretty shaken up yesterday, what happened?" Jessica racked her brain for a feasible excuse. "I left my trainer in the gym closet, that's where I'm headed now." Toni cocked her head. She and Jessica were close, like sisters she could sense a lie in her explanation. She tried to make eye contact, but she averted her gaze. "I gotta run." she carried on walking down the corridor. As soon as Toni was out of sight she ran all the way into the gym. It was dark and empty, even at noon the sun barely lit the large room. Lucky for her she had wolf vision. She found the closet door ajar, carefully she closed it behind her. She saw Chris juggling six balls at a time, creating a large multi coloured arch. "Hi Chris, or should I say Christian." Christian dropped the balls. A wry smile on his perfect face. "You found me out, and there I was pretty sure I had fooled you." Jessica couldn't help but smile as he pushed out his bottom lip and scowled. Why was she so easy with him? it shouldn't be possible, she hated vampires. But he seemed different and once again the thought crossed her mind that maybe, just maybe he was the Christian Valentine. Christian had no idea why he asked her to meet him. All he did know was that he was drawn to her like no other. Not even the calling of blood made him feel like this when he had gone decades without. I need you. those three word seemed to taunt him every time he looked at her, every time he heard her beating heart. Would she welcome him if he told her the truth, that he was indeed the Halfling? Never had there been a Halfling in all history. What if they mated and had children, would they be tracked down and murdered just like his parents had? "My parents were murdered by werewolves. The Edmonds took me in." He said after the uncomfortable silence. "I was six at the time, and even though they are werewolves, they have loved me like their own." Jessica knew there was more to the story, maybe in time he'd trust her with it. Did she want him to trust her. What if she had to chose between him and her fellow brethren? She knew she was falling for this curious vampire. They barely knew each other but she felt like she did. As cheesy as it may seem, she could see herself in love with him. Christian walked slowly towards her. A small smile on his lips. Before she could react he ducked his head and kissed her fully on the lips. Christian had meant it to be a quick kiss, it was anything but that. In all his three hundred years, he had never responded to a woman quite like this one. It were as if a dozen hands were soothing his very core, stroking his chest, massaging his head cupping his...wait a second! Jessica was cupping him. he opened his mind, used his telepathy to see what exactly was going on. She was leaning into him clutching at his arousal. Christian's outer spirit just shrugged. He wanted to concentrate on her taste. Like honey sweet and addictive. Jessica hadn't realised her hands had been wandering. One hand was attached firmly in his dark hair whilst her palm was stroking him. the feel of his tongue caressing her mouth should have revolted her. Instead she could feel her legs buckling under such intimate scrutiny. "Babe, I hate to interrupt this but the freshman's are starting gym." Jessica pulled away reluctantly. She traced her swollen lips and touched her mussed hair. Shyly she looked at Chris. His lips also looked bruised, his hair stuck out in all directions and he was missing his first three buttons. Christian watched in bemused amusement as Jessica blushed. "Did I do that?" Her body tingled as he laughed softly. A nice deep laugh. He nodded his head. "Come on princess, all you'll be late for class." Jessica looked at his hand. She knew that if she took it, their relationship would never be the same again. His hand felt warm in hers. ... Steve looked at his brother suspiciously. Ever since he come home he had, had a far of gaze. Like he was remembering a memory a good memory. What confused Steve even more was the fact that Christian didn't have any good memories. Well apart from family ones, but he never reminisced about them. He watched as Christian levitated from his bed and sighed deeply, content. "What the fuck is going on!" Steve roared. It didn't surprise him that Christian didn't flinch. He didn't scare easily. "Brother?" Steve whispered honest to god worried. "I think I'm in love." Steve had trouble picking his jaw from the floor. In love. Christian Valentine? It couldn't be. He was a fearless warrior. Hell bent on ridding the world of anything that threatened the human race. He just couldn't be in love. "Oh yes I am Steve." Steve gasped as Christian sent him a mental image of Christian and the red haired werewolf hand in hand wearing wedding clothes. They were skipping in a meadow with two little Christian's running around them. The werewolf was heavily pregnant. "Stop that." Steve growled. Next came a picture of Christian and the werewolf sitting in old rockers, grandchildren at their feet. The old wrinkled Christian looked at him and winked. Steve couldn't help but laugh. It was so like Christian to see the funny side of things. "Now be gone, puppy I have more daydreaming to do." Christian used his telekinises to move Steve and slam the door in his face. Steve rubbed his face and blinked a few times. "Mom!" He yelled running down the stairs. Christian smiled as he heard Steve tell Mary what was happening to him. was he really in love, or was it passing fancy? He had never known love, not the kind between a man and his woman. Sure he had seen it between Mary and Simon, but he had never felt it. He sighed deeply again, he allowed his spirit self to track Jessica down. The city rushed pass him, drunk office men and women, a homeless person, a cat mating. Then he found her sitting on a small mound just outside the mansion. Her face was lit by the cresent moon. Soon it would be time for a full moon, then she would know. Would she hate him? all were-hunters were taught that if they ever came across the Halfling, he must be killed. For the Halfling was even more powerful than the gods. "Hi baby." Christian almost jumped as Jessica talked to him. how did she know he was there? "I could smell you" she answered. Christian smiled and settled beside her. Slowly he made himself visible, although he was just a hologram. He wore a tight black shirt tucked in dark jeans. She noticed the tattoo trailing down his arm and reached over to trace it. Her hand went through his image. "Sorry Jess." His voice was like a caress. Jessica harrumphed, then smiled as Christian laughed softly once more. "Do you think it is wise that we have these feeling for each other?" Jessica didn't look at him when she asked her question. She didn't want to see humour, or confusion. She didn't want to think that he may not feel the same way she felt about him. Christian was silent for a moment, unsure how to fraze his answer. "No, but I was never one to do the wise thing. My mother always told me to follow my heart." It was then that Jessica looked at him. there she saw what was locked in her heart. Her eyes fluttered shut as he kissed her. Well kissed her in a holographic kind of way. She couldn't feel it, but she could imagine what it felt like. "Jessica!" They sprang apart, she watched with a heavy heart as he dissolved into the night. She looked up angrily at her friend. Toni either didn't notice her friends look, or did not care. In her hand was an invitation. "From who?" Jessica looked over her friend's shoulder. Her heart picked up speed. She turned and howled at the moon. The king had invited the students and her grandfather to the harvest ball. Toni joined her, incarnating into wolf form. They ran together in the woods, scaring the pants of voles and tumbling in the grass. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 04 "I wanna come to." Jessica slapped Christian playfully. Already his roots were showing, such a pure blonde that it was almost white. They stood by his window watching the crescent moon play peek-a-boo behind grey clouds, her head tucked under his chin. His steady heart beat, a soothing lullaby. Christian could hardly contain his excitement. He would finally meet his grandfather. Oh he would enjoy killing him. Jessica continued tracing circles around his nipple. "Pretty please. I can try to hide my aura Jess, please let me come." Jessica looked into his eyes and could feel his wanting to be there, but if she did invite him and even if he did hide is aura she knew he would try to kill the king. It was every vampires goal. "Promise you wont kill the king?." She felt him tense under her touch. "I can't do that ma chére. I'll try." His grey eyes widened, his face became slightly chubby and he gave her a puppy dog whimper. Jessica laughed, cuddling him to her chest. "Fine." She resigned. Christian kissed her fully. His tongue traced her lips, his teeth nibbled her bottom lip. Jessica moaned as his hands wandered to her breast. She felt his desire for her as his erection pressed against her stomach, and it ignited her own, making her ache for his body, his touch. She wanted him inside her so desperately it stunned her. Never in her life had she wanted a man or beast like this. He lifted her up in his arms, supporting her weight as he deepened his kiss. Effortlessly, his strong hands held her bottom against his hips so that his bulge pressed against her core. She moaned as the intimate contact with leather and man. Kissing him back as hard as she could, she wrapped her legs around his waist. She felt his satisfied laugh rumble out of his body. It made his stomach caress her between her legs, his chest brush against hers, enflaming her even more. Oh, hon, what are you doing? Jessica heard her reasonable voice in her head. She hadn't slept with anyone before, it was against the laws for any royal to sleep with anyone but their mate, and here she was about to have sex with her mortal enemy. A vampire. But for some reason, none of that mattered. The only thing she could focus on was how good he felt as she held him. How wonderful he looked, and the fact that she cared for him . More than she should. More than what made sense. Right or wrong, she wanted to share her body with him. No, she needed this. It was what she wanted deep down in her heart. And she'd always followed her heart-wherever it led her. There would be no regrets about this. He slid the hem of her dress back, over her thighs. She shivered at the feel of the cool material crawling up her skin, followed by the heat of his hands. He glided his palms up the backs of her thighs until he cupped her bare bottom. He growled in pleasure, the sound deep and primal. "I like the way you feel, Jess." He breathed against her lips. Jessica couldn't think straight with his large, strong hands on her naked skin. He dipped his head to her neck where his lips burned her. His fangs nipped her skin tenderly. He delivered a hot, shivery lick to her skin. Her thoughts shattered. The man was simply delectable; she couldn't turn him away, even if they had to end up killing him, she had to have him at least once. Christian gave her a tight-lipped smile as he saw the raw hunger in her light eyes. He was going to savour this woman. Every last inch of her. As a mix breed, he had chosen his lovers, randomly, knowing he'd never see them again. For centuries, he'd contented himself with one-night stands. With wanton women who wanted nothing more from him than the few hours of the pleasure he could give them. After minimal conversation to placate them, he had screwed them wildly, and in the end, they had gone their separate ways. Most of the time he hadn't even bothered asking their names. But he knew something it was different about this one. Licking his lips in anticipation, he ran his hand over her silken thigh, up to her hips. This woman had the finest butt he'd ever caressed. He pushed her dress up to her waist while she locked her ankles behind his back. His head spun at the feel of her wrapped around him like this. The heat of her inner thighs burned his waist as he felt her wetness against his stomach. "Do you normally wear a dress without knickers?" He whispered hoarsely into her ear. Jessie whimpered and replied "They take too long to take off." Christian laughed returning to her lips; he carried her to the bed and laid her down on the mattress. Without breaking his hold, he lay down on top of her and kissed her fully, deeply, as he ground his swollen groin against the part of her he couldn't wait to bury himself into. He sampled the warmth of her mouth and listened to her moans of pleasure. Closing his eyes, he inhaled her unique scent and let it wash over him. Jessica wanted to weep at how good he felt on top of her. The leather of his pants caressed her intimately as his lips tormented hers. His hair tickled her neck with every movement he made. And his hands felt wickedly wonderful as he ran them over her body, seeking out every part of her. She almost whimpered in protest when he moved away. He pulled her dress from her and tossed it to the floor. She felt more than just physically naked in front of him. For some reason she felt spiritually bare as well. It was as if he could see deep inside her somehow, as if he knew things about her no one else knew. As if they were connected on a level that transcended their physical bonding. This was outrageous since he was a vampire and she was a werewolf. At least she thought so until he returned to lie on top of her. Then her thoughts scattered again and she became one with the moment. It was strange, really, this sensation of him. Jessica hissed at how wonderful he tasted. She brought her hands around his waist, to his fly. His bulge huge. He was so hard and ready for her. She laced her fingers through his short curls, moving her hand lower until she could cup the soft heat of him in her palm. Christian moaned in pleasure. It felt so incredibly good to have her holding him like that. He had sex more times than he could count and yet there was something new about this experience. She pulled his pants down lower so that she could tuck her toes into them and pull them off. She rose up on her knees and leaned her naked body against his bare back, making him tremble from the feel of her breasts against his spine. "I just love this tattoo." She said as she slowly traced it dawn his back with her tongue. "I love when you do that." He said, tossing his boots and pants into the corner. He gripped the edge of the bed as she explored his back with her mouth. "Does it have a special meaning?" He closed his eyes as she returned to tracing the marks with her tongue. "They're Romanian symbols for protection, power, and sui generic." Christian clenched his teeth at the last meaning. "Of its own kind." Jessica whispered, she gave one long, warm lick, then pulled back. "I can't believe Mary did this. My father had a cow when he saw mine, god bless his soul." Christian looked at her over his shoulder. "You have a tattoo?" It was a very small, Celtic cross with the jagged symbol for creativity. Smiling, he ran his hand over it. "Very nice." She moaned as he dipped his head and took one of her breasts into his mouth. Christian sighed at the feel of her puckered areola under his tongue. He brushed his hand through the moist tangle of curls until he could touch the part of her he craved the most. She groaned and shivered as he carefully separated the tender folds until he could tease her cleft. Jessica clutched his head to her breast as she opened her legs wider, giving him access to her body. She ached and throbbed at the feel of his hand stroking her. And when he plunged his fingers inside, she cried out. Unable to wait any longer, she reached down between their bodies so that she could guide him deep inside her. They groaned in unison. Jessica arched her back as soon as the stinging sensation ended, drawing him even deeper. He was so hard and hot, so full. She'd never felt anything better than him filling her. He sat back on his legs and pulled her hips so that he could slide into her, slowly, deeply. It was a rolling rhythm that made her writhe from intense pleasure of his intimate strokes. She stared at him as he watched her with a tender look on his face. "You are beautiful." He breathed, rolling his hips against hers and thrusting himself even deeper and harder inside her. "You too." She said as she clutched at his knees. He had such a way with his hips as he slid himself in and out, hard and deep. He teased her with his hands, his fingers stroking her in time to his thrusts. The pleasure of his touch permeated every fibre of her being. And when she came, the orgasm was so intense that she screamed. Christian growled at the sound of her ecstasy as her body clutched his. Crying out, she reached up and pulled him down on top of her. She nuzzled his neck and face, raining kisses all over his cheek and shoulder. Her lips scorched his skin as she continued to nuzzle his neck and thrust herself against him. He held her tight and closed his eyes. His senses and emotions reeled from the pleasure of the moment. Jessica felt like a different woman, she felt like a woman. She sighed as he rolled of her and pulled her into his arms. she rubbed her nose against his hairless chest, and smiled as his arms tightened around her. "Sleep Jess." Jessica kissed him gently on the lips before following his order. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 05 *Note to readers, since these are supernatural creatures, they have some special powers. One of them being telepathy, so the ' ' means that they are not speaking out loud but telepathically. I hope I haven't confuzzled you, that would just ruin the story. :) * Christian woke with a start. Sweat poured down his chest, he breathed harshly rapidly. Oh shit. He felt an absent weight and realised Jessica was no longer sleeping beside him. He sniffed the air. She was downstairs, playing on the playstaion with Steve, Simon and Jake. A small smile crept on his lips. He wondered what Mary had thought when she came downstairs. 'I thought that maybe now I can have some grand kiddies.' She said telepathically. Christian laughed heartedly. Then his mind whirred back to the dream he had, or more like vision. One that took place last night. He swore profoundly. Tugging on his leather pants and pulling on a shirt he literally flew down the stairs. The house shook, and the lights flickered before he calmed down. "Thanks a lot dick wad, now we have to start again." Christian scowled at Steve, then his eyes fell on Jessica. Her hair lay wet, rolling down her shoulders. She sat conspiring with Jake on the best way to beat Simon and Steve. "Christian?" Mary looked at him worry in her eyes. Only once had she seen him so volatile. But that couldn't be the case surely. "Where the fuck is van Helsing?! I gave the dude immortality, and he gave me jack!" The household fell silent as Christian rummaged through draws, while he used his mind to leaf through the phone book. "Christian, his number is on the fridge." Christian rubbed his temples before dashing towards the kitchen. Jessica looked at the men around her, even though Hulk Hogan was beating her Steve Austin up, she could see that they were all tense, even little Jake. Were they afraid of him? had she thought him a special vampire, maybe he had just enthralled her. She sensed his presence in the room. "I'm taking you home!" Jessica flinched at his tone of voice. Yep he had used her, and she had been a sucker in a red dress. She waved goodbye to Mary and promised to ring as soon as she got home. "Do not judge him too cruelly. He has just received devastating news." But Jessica could still see the fear in her eyes. Slowly she entered the car, and kept her head down the whole way. She couldn't keep the tears from falling. All she had seen in his look had been fake! She wiped her tears fiercely, and as the house loomed ahead she made to open the door. Her hand stilled as the lock clicked. "Jess something's come up." oh no, the 'this was a one off.' speech. "Just let me out." "No. I care about you Jess, more than I think I should. I found something out and got angry, I don't want you to be afraid of me." The locks came up, blindly Jessica opened the door and stumbled out. Christian watched as she entered the house. His heart sank, she would never want to be with him again. No one ever did. 'Be there at seven o'clock.' Christian smiled and started up the engine. ... "Now Jake, don't hassle the baby sitter, and I mean it, no wolf changing. Remember that's why we left Oregon." Jake stuck his tongue at his mothers retreating back. He was thirteen for moons sake! He could look after himself. Christian tapped his foot impatiently. It was already quarter past seven. This was why he never went out with these guys. "Mother!" He bellowed. Mary tutted, delicately tracing her lips with a deep red lipstick. Steve fidgeted with his tie before cursing the thing and ripping it to shreds. "Please people. I have to get to the king now, Vlad could be anywhere". This got them moving, they all kissed Jake goodbye before piling into separate cars. Christian groaned as Steve changed the station again. He was now behind their parents. He could see Simon now, mocking him. They swerved through Saturday night traffic, making it to the house at half seven. They trudged up the house where Jessica sat, her head in her hands. She looked up as the Edmond's hurried towards her, an apologetic smile from Mary and they pushed past her. All that was left was a tall man with deep blond hair. "No kiss?" Jessica gasped, her hands trailed over his face. She didn't even realise. His eyes were a deep blue, and his hair was no longer a died black, but a dirty blond. In fact although he did look the same, he had an almost human aura around him. She brushed her lips against his teasingly. Christian growled and pried her mouth open with his tongue. Jessica sagged slightly. He tasted so much like dark chocolate, so rich. Her hands slipped to the buttons on his shirt. "Baby, not now." He laughed. Jessica feigned annoyance, then clutched his hand. The room was filled with wolves, not even one human. Which meant, he stuck out like a sore thumb. The room was filled with the scent of raw meet, and Christian could feel himself salivating. But as a human he should be repulsed. Then again what would a human be doing here? Gradually he changed his aura to that of a werewolf. It was very hard to maintain that appearance. Jessica knew what he was doing, and couldn't help but marvel at it. Beads of sweat ran down his brow. "I'm sorry baby." She whispered, as they danced. Christian moaned as she rubbed against him provocatively. This was how it was meant to be. He sniffed her hair and rubbed his cheek against it. He would never forget the feel of her in his arms. they should be together always. Of that he was sure. ... The music stopped and the lights dimmed. A portly man stood before them, a parchment in his hand, "Presenting his royal highness. King Philippe Valentine VII and the royal family." There was a round of applause. Jessica noticed the Edmond's gathering around them. There expressions stern. Something was up. "No matter what happens Jess, know that I love you." Her heart stilled at his words. Something bad was about to happen, she could feel it. ... Christian held Jess to him. Knowing that this was probably the last time he would ever hold her. He felt the golden arm band with the werewolf crest, burn into his skin. King Philippe stood tall, at six' eight, he was taller than all the men. Dark hair fell down his shoulder. His gaze fell upon the blond haired male. His arms wrapped protectively around his grandniece. His lips turned at the corner into a snarl. All his were-hunters pointed the silver arrows towards the golden man. "Christian what's going on?" Christian hugged Jess one last time, before pushing her away. He flew into the air as the arrows soared after him. He spun around once, then let a fragment of himself taunt the arrows. They followed his projection. His other self managed to make the arrows collide. With his mind he stopped the silver pieces from falling on the werewolves bellow. "Stop this foolishness, Philippe." The crowd, hushed. No one talked to the king that way. Philippe cocked his head slightly. Who was this vampire, never had he seen such skill. "Sire?" Philippe raised his hand. All the werewolves transformed into wolves, there lips pulled back, their teeth bared. Jessica turned to the Edmond's, her eyes widened with worry. "Help him." She croaked, Steve looked at her as if she were crazy. "Darling he can take care of himself, he won't appreciate our help." Jessica had no idea what they were talking about. She weaved through the crowed until she reached her uncle's side. "Please great-uncle, stop?" Philippe growled at his grandniece. What had she been thinking? He shook his head firmly, he would kill this vampire because it was his duty. But the vampire appeared to disarmed his men. Already over two dozen of the soldiers were wounded, he was making his way slowly towards the king. Michael stood before him. "Leave my grandfather!" Christian stopped. This was his cousin? He couldn't help but laugh. This fool, who took more care in his looks. Christian laughed even harder. Michael howled before launching himself at him. Christian held him still with his telekinesis. "And who are you little boy?" "I am Michael Valentine, heir to the throne." Christian smirked, then pinned Michael to the ceiling. He stood before the king. Michael still high up in the air. "Tell me oh great king the name of your first son." Everything stilled. No one spoke of the kings son. As far as the werewolf community were concerned Prince Julian never existed. Jessica stared in disbelief. Did Christian have a death wish? Fear for him made her etch closer towards him. Philippe noticed her movement then pulled her protectively behind him. how could she reach him, he had put up a mental wall around his thoughts. "How dare you!" Already Philippe's clothes began to dissolve as his body quivered, fine grey soared over his body. "Wait, wait!" A tall light haired man burst through the crowd of people causing the king to stop mid-change. A beautiful tanned woman stood by his side, her stomach large with child. Dark hair cascaded down her shoulders as brown eyes assessed Jessica thoroughly. "You took your time." Christian thumped the man on the back. Jessica shook her head on confusion, as her uncle quickly transformed back. "This a friend of yours Van Helsing?" Jessica skipped past him and tugged Christian's arm. He gave a reassuring look, brushing his lips against her temple. Van Helsing watched this exchange amusingly, before turning to his life long ally the king. "Yeah, this here is a very good friend of mine. So I'd appreciate it if you didn't rip out his throat...just yet." Christian sent him a dark look. "Umm can I get down now?" Michael called. ... Jessica nursed a cup of black coffee, her mind in turmoil. No one ever spoke of Julian. Even the vampires knew better than to even think his name in front of the king. The feud had only strengthened with the elopement of the prince and princess, before it was mutual dislike now it was pure hatred. But once every year werewolves and vampires of the like would meet, under both kings orders to hunt out The Halfling. "This is ridiculous, you should be in there. He is your boyfriend after all." Jessica just sent Toni a scathing look, but deep down she agreed with her friend. 'There are just some thing's, I'd like to tell you in private. Ma chére.' Jessica couldn't help but smile, then felt even more muddled. It was written law that vampires should never speak French, for France that was the home land of all Lycan's and French was their language. The word Halfling sailed through her mind. "That's it!" She told Toni before pulling open the oak library doors. All three men looked at her bewildered and slightly angry. "I refuse to wait outside, like some mere pup. I want to know too." Christian couldn't help but laugh at her bright red face and heaving chest. She looked even more like the whelp she spoke of. Philippe stared at his niece, then looked at Van Helsing who just shrugged his shoulders. "So be it." He said dismissively. Allowing his niece a seat before the desk, whilst they stood above her. "Listen, I know what I saw. Vlad has awoken, he has taken the essence of four of the thirteen high priests of the vampire guild. I need your help." Jessica held a hand to her throat. Dracula? She had always thought he was dead, and apparently so did her uncle, because a murderous look flashed angrily in his eyes. He turned towards Van Helsing, who seemed to shrink and back away into the shadows. "Wasn't it you who famously killed him?!" He roared. Van Helsing made a little whimpering noise before pointing at Christian. "He wouldn't let me." Jessica gasped in disbelief, and true enough she could see in his eyes that it was true. She suddenly felt cold, and she could see the blatant pain on his face as she withdrew from him. What was he? She felt him in her mind, the gut wrenching pain he felt when he realised what she was thinking. "Then why should I help you? After all you are a blood sucker, not worth the dirt on my paw." Christian stood immobile. Without revealing himself Jessica had already turned away from him. she avoided all eye contact. "You do not need to. I was fool to think a werewolf would want to protect the human race, as it its written in your law. I was fool to think that maybe my word would be enough, that calling the great Van Helsing would be enough. I will as before take him out myself." Jessica barely registered the door slamming shut. All she could focus on was the fact that he had let the most notorious vampire live. He had a chance to destroy him, yet he had not. She rubbed her head, a pounding headache blocked her senses. She soon left the room leaving her uncle and Van Helsing quarrelling. She did not even wait for Toni to catch up with her as she climbed into her car. That night she took of the dress she had lovingly adorned just for Christians benefit. She wore nothing beneath. She had wanted him so badly, and she was ashamed to say she still did. What did humans do? they sent their partners a text message. She picked up her phone, but her fingers could not move over the illuminated pad. She didn't want this to end, and that was the worst and best thing of all. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 06 Christian allowed the coldness of night to wash over him. But still his anger burnt hot. The king of vampires was the most thick skulled being ever. As they walked his grounds he couldn't help but contemplate staking his grandfather. "You do not understand. He has taken your men." Cedric looked at the vampire beside him, his power tickled his skin and he knew that he was a force to be reckoned with. He played for time. He understood perfectly. His grandson was out of control. It was bound to get out of hand...again. Last time he had relied on a mortal. Maybe this time he would rely on of his own. "Fine, I give you five of my best men, that should be sufficient, but we shall wait till he looks for us." His hand rose quieting Christians refusal. "No, we will do this my way, or no way." Christian nodded reluctantly, before taking to the skies. Damn him for a fool. Now he had five extra lives to care for. Why was Vlad being so difficult. Eternity in a coffin was not that bad, eternal sleep, what he'd give for that. Actually he would give anything to see Jessica once more. It had been a month since the incident and they had rarely spoken, except when it was necessary during school. His mind made up he materialised in the grounds. The garden was still, too still. Nothing made a noise, no animals nor the wind. He looked towards the house. Only one room held a light and he knew it was her. He climbed up vines creeping towards her window. She sat hunched over her school work. He could see her head drooping and felt sympathetic towards her. Slowly he dematerialised, seeping through the small in the window pane. She looked as she always did. Perfect. Easing around her he lifted her to the bed, then lay beside her. He stroked her head rhythmically, her warm breath fanned his neck. This was how it was meant to be, they were meant to be together. He had missed her warmth, the feel of her in his arms. very slowly he allowed his eyes to drift shut, just for a few minutes, to savour this moment for when she awoke, he would make sure she had no idea he had been with her. Jessica came awake when a hard body shifted against her. For a moment she froze, the hand that wasn't tucked under the weight of the intruder searched under her pillow for the oak stake. Her stranger groaned softly then hugged her closer. The familiar smell washed over her. Christian. Her heart started beating rapidly, and she couldn't help but smile. He had tucked her in, even though she had work to complete. Carefully she pushed away from him, the feeling of security vanished as she escaped his arms. She looked down at him brushing a lock of golden hair away from his face. "Jess." He whispered, his arms closed around air. Her heart broke as she saw the confusion and fear on his face. His head shot up, it took him awhile to register the figure above him as Jessica, a slow smile spread lazily across his face. "You're safe." Jessica nodded. "Did you have a bad dream?" All animosity towards him vanished. This was her love, and she would do anything to protect him. he nodded sheepishly. She sat on his lap and nuzzled his neck. "I thought he had taken you, and I damned myself for not killing him. but I couldn't Jess, I just couldn't." Hot tears scorched her skin, she cursed herself for not comforting him. She took his head in her hands and kissed him feverishly, she took his large hand and placed it over her chest. "I'm still here. I'll not leave you, but you have to-." A loud crashing erupted in the house, followed by blood thirsty roars. "He's here." She heard Michael yell. Christian hands tightened around her before releasing her onto the bed. He opened the curtains and pulled open the window. The wind whipped his face, causing his hair to flutter madly around him. Jessica stood beside him and took his hand in hers. It was warm and dry, a massive contrast to her damp hands. "Hold onto me." She complied reveling in the feel of his strong arms around her body "Close your eyes." She felt light, she could feel the cool autumn breeze surround her. She peeped through her lashes and almost wished she hadn't. they were flying. Well floating, but her room was on the third storey. She almost kissed the ground when they landed on it. This was what she was the daughter of the moon and the earth. Jessica looked into Christian eyes and smiled, tugging his head to her lips. Christian loved the taste of her, she was his aphrodisiac. Addictive like a drug, but important like insulin. She was the very air he breathed. Since his parents death he had spent his life in the dark, not feeling lest he be hurt. But she had broken every barrier around his fragile heart. Jessica shivered under his gaze, a nice shiver. The iciness she had always seen in his eyes seemed to melt into stormy passion. His lips trailed down to the hollow of her neck, his fingers skimmed her aching breast. She arched towards him, feeling his arousal pressed against her own damp cavern. The trees around them came to life. What seemed to be fifty wolves stalked around them. Toni stood in her SWAT gear. "What's going on Jessie?" She asked, aiming the gun at Christian chest. She moved instinctively before him. Christian smiled softly before pushing her behind him. "I can take care of this baby." Jessica didn't doubt that, and she suddenly felt scared for her comrades. "No I wont hurt them." She squeezed his arm appreciably. "What makes you think you can." Jessica groaned as Michael, came forth. A silver arrow in his crossbow, Christian raised an eyebrow at him. Jessica knew that Michael was still sore about the ball and would take great pleasure in killing the vampire. "Ah, the heir to the throne." He mocked. Growling he fired the arrow only for Christian to move both him and Jessica out of the way. "Are you trying to get your mate killed?" Jessica bristled. "I am not his mate." "I know, you are mine." Jessica didn't doubt that for one moment. She was already branded his, and she didn't mind one bit. "So where is this king of yours?" Christian taunted, as if in response, Philippe emerged. His face expressionless, behind him stood Van Helsing. "Hey dude, just let it go." He said approaching his friend. Christian sent a psychic wave, pushing him back. He landed on his rump and looked more bewildered than pained. "Hand my grandsons mate, or else feel my wrath." Philippe spat vehemently. This bug needed to be squashed. Christian scoffed. Then thought better of it, instead he started speaking in fluent French, it made everyone confused. "Is it not written that the first grandson was to be king." Philippe stopped. That voice, it sound all too familiar. Just like Julian's. "I am the first grandson." said Michael. Everyone agreed. Christian shrugged confusingly. "There was me thinking Christian Julian Hassledown Valentine was the rightful heir." Jessica stood still. She knew it! He was The Halfling. The most feared creature in the world, capable of destroying all races. Philippe froze. It was Christian, the child he had wanted dead for so long. Before him stood his grandson. He had never thought he would appear as such. He though he would be a hideous monstrosity, instead he stood tall and strong. He was handsome and he had love in his eyes. Philippe waved away his men. Allowing room for them to leave. And they did just that. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 07 Their love making had been devoid of warmth. She had withheld herself, he knew that she feared him, that anything he would say would be in vain. She was not here by choice, but by the fact that her family had disowned her, he knew enough to know it would be a long time before they forgave her, and probably eternity before she forgave him. he felt cold and bereft as she curled even more tightly into a protective ball. There was a good four inches between them, but to him it felt like a canyon. For the first time in centuries, he wished he had never been born. That his parents hadn't rebelled against the laws. It was taboo! God dammit. "Shame on you Christian, cursing like that, hat would mama say?" Christian froze, he looked at the dark shadow by his bedroom window. The menacing figure, seemed immobile, but in a second he was beside him. For what seemed an eternity they faced each other, tense and ready for battle. Christian grinned and hugged his brother. Vlad stilled before hugging him back. No matter what he loved his little brother. Well he admired him. even after he had sent assassins after his parents. He awaited the moment in fear, the moment Christian would find out. The dark part of him wanted to see his brother suffer, while the not so dark, just wanted him dead. Christian pulled away, then sent a bolt of light at the creature. It was what he had to do. Vlad hissed, sending him a deep red strobe that pierced his chest. ... Jessica came awake. The smell of blood was so strong it burnt her eyes. She looked around the room, nothing unnatural, except for the flapping curtains and the absence of Christian. She sighed in relief. Thank god he wasn't here. She had to find some place to stay, she couldn't possibly stay with him. everyone knew that he was too powerful, that he had put terror into everyone's lives. He was not right, a mistake. She hated the fact that she sounded so cold, but it was a fact. He was the only Halfling, in the world. Ever to be created. It was her duty as a werewolf to kill him. But could she? Maybe he had been controlling her mind all this time, yes he had, for it was wrong to even lust over a vampire. Don't lie to yourself Jessie girl, he had no control over you. She sighed deeply, then slipped out of the bed. Where was he then, killing children in their sleep. A cold fear washed over her. What if he had killed the Edmonds, what if he had grown bored of them. Jessie, do you not know him at all? "No." She whispered. If she did she never would have fallen in love with him. She was surprised everyone was awake, even more surprised that Steven and Simon were in werewolf form. They were about to exit the door, gave her a curt nod and left. Jake laid curled on the sofa tears running down her face, whilst Mary clattered around in the kitchen. What had he done! It was true he was heartless. "Mrs. Edmonds, what has Christian done?" She gasped as she saw Mary slump into a chair her head in her hands. "I told him, told him." She slammed her fist on the table, before realising Jessica stood there. "Oh dear, come sit. I know how fond you are of Christian." Jessica sat down her hand covering Mary's. if he had hurt this family, she would kill him! "What has happened Mrs. Edmonds?" "He came here, he came and took Christian." Jessica shook her head in confusion. Mary tsked. "Vlad, Dracula. He came for Christian. I told him to kill him, but he didn't." "Why, why didn't he kill him?" "Because they're brothers." Jessica gasped. Another one? Another Halfling. The world is doomed. Mary sensed her thoughts and laughed hoarsely. "Vlad is the son of Christian's mother and a vampire earl. They are half brothers. And no matter what Vlad throws at him he wouldn't kill him. he loves him too much, and now I know he's dead." Mary wailed. Jessica felt her throat close. Vlad the Impaler was a legend, and the most unbeatable vampire. It was said he was indestructible. "Christian's dead?" She whispered. He hadn't brainwashed the family. They really cared for him. "Why do you all love him so much? He's The Halfling." Mary looked fit to burst, she snatched her hand away. "He was but a boy!" She stood up and paced the room. "only six years when Philippe sent trained men to kill him and his parents. He heard his father being killed, watched his mother raped then killed whilst tied to a chair with silver chains burning into his skin, thank the moon I found him in time. I have loved him as a son since." A cough came behind them. Both women leapt from their seat. Jessica stared and stared at the large white wolf. He lay limp in Simon's arms. "He's not healing fast enough Mary, I don't know what he's done, but he's not healing fast enough." Apparently this was out of the ordinary. Steve took her outside and the last thing she saw was Christian lying on the kitchen table. They stood in the yard for what seemed an age before Steve finally spoke. "What are you're intentions towards my brother?" That was the most unexpected and ludicrous thing she had ever heard. What right did he have to ask her such a thing, as far as she was concerned she should have killed Christian whilst he lay asleep beside her. "It's not your brother, it's The Halfling, a freak. An oddity it isn't even meant to exist. It has to be terminated." "Your lucky I don't hit bitches." Jessica shrank back slightly, the stark anger in his eyes, made her feel ten times as sick with herself for speaking so harshly. Steve walked away from her towards the tyre swing at the end of the garden. "He is my brother." He said suddenly, almost making her jump ten feet. "Jake had lukiemia when he was seven, Christian gave him his blood and took the virus into himself. Because of him Jake is alive. He's saved my rump a good few times." He said wistfully. This didn't sound like The Halfling everyone feared. "At first I was like you, I didn't understand how my mother could look upon The Halfling and see a person in him. but he's there Jessica. One time I beat him to a pulp. He didn't fight back, at the time I thought he was so full of himself. "He said he couldn't be defeated, that with one punch he could kill me" Jessica eyes widened. Steve sneered, self pityingly. "I called him a half breed, I said he wasn't worth the dirt in my claws, that his mother was a vampire whore, that his father was a rabid, horny mongrel. He showed me his past, what happened that night. And I promise you Jessica, I even still have night mares. After three and a half hundred years. I still have nightmares. And because of what happened it made me ashamed that I was a werewolf, that our loyal king could do such a thing. "his own grandfather. He can only be beaten by Vlad. And because he is so trusting and loving, he cant kill him. he'll let him kill him first. Because of you he is willing to be found on the hunt." Jessica gasped, grabbing her throat she gulped for air. 'the hunt' was every full moon. Vampires and werewolves would work together flushing out The Halfling. She could see them now all the Edmonds, running from one city to another to be safe. Before she realised, what he was doing he placed his fingers to her head. "Now you will see what 'The Halfling' has endured." He was running into a trap, Jessica could see it. The people he had thought were his friends had ambushed him. but he couldn't kill them. Jessica cried out as an oak stake impaled his heart. He lay so still. Then a burst of light emitted from his chest, swamping everything in light. The vampires shied from it hissing and slipping into shadows. The werewolves growled and attacked at all angles. Jessica flinched a she heard the tearing of skin and bone crunching. They left him to die, but to her utter amazement he began to patch work together before becoming whole. She saw all this through his eyes and much more. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 08 Jessica ran her hands through the thick fur, of the magnificent creature that was her lover. He growled gently in his sleep, his wounds finally healing. He hadn't woken in ten days and the whole time she hadn't been to school. What did it matter? Her friends were no longer her friends. Or so she thought, until she saw Toni standing in the bedroom door way, a vacant look on her face. Jessica stood up slowly, unsure if her friend was here to kill her. "I brought over some homework." Jessica took the sheaf of papers. They stood in an uncomfortable silence. "let me fetch you something to eat." Toni nodded. They both went into the kitchen. Toni sat down watching her friend. If the truth be told, she looked even more radiant. She looked content and happy. She had expected her to at least be scared if not guilty for joining forces with their sworn enemy. "Your grandfather misses you." Toni finally said. "I miss him too." "Come visit then." "I thought..." Jessica looked so confused it almost made her laugh. "He loves you, we all do. maybe he may over look 'The Hunt'." Jessica nodded, a small smile on her lips which was quickly dashed by a man walking spectacularly naked into the kitchen. Blond hair flowed like a water fall over him, his eyes an unnatural grey. Jessica could hardly breathe. He was beautiful absolutely beautiful. Perhaps too beautiful? Toni could barely catch her breath. "Jessica, Toni. What are you guys doing here?" Jessica shook her head, her mouth agape. "Who are you?" He looked at her strangely. Then caught his reflection in the mirror. He touched his face, just to make sure. They watched in awe as he transformed into his werewolf form and wolf form, before turning back. He grabbed Jessica and kissed her so passionately, she almost forgot about Christian. She tried to pull away from him. "Who are you?" "It's me, Christian. I've aged Jess!" ... Jessica played with a strand of Christian's hair. His head rested on her lap as she leant against one of the trees in the garden. It was still so amazing how he had transformed. That was the reason why the healing took so long, he had been aging. And oh how magnificent he looked. Like a painting, a work of art. His fingers entwined with hers felt so purley intimate and right. How could she have thought him a monster? Jake ran past them chasing after a Frisbee. This was how life should be like. Her and Christian, and a baby? She froze so quickly, Christian almost broke every bone in her hand. "What's wrong?" "Christian are you like all royal vampires?" Christian pondered her question, then it dawned on him. "If I said yes would that be a bad thing?" He hoped she gave the right answer. "No, I want children with you." Christian pulled her face to his lips, 'I want children with you'. He'd remember those words for the rest of his life. But it couldn't be, he would never condemn a child to what he had endured. He shouldn't even be with Jessica, her life was now in danger, she loved him and that love would cause an all out war. Jessica watched in anxiety as his face clouded over, it was obvious that he was against the idea. She however was not. As a female werewolf it was her duty to breed. As chauvinistic as it may seem, the females of the specie found it an honour to bare pups. Children were valued before all else, they kept the werewolves alive. She ran a hand down his taut cheek. "I cant Jessica, not after what happened to me." She knew he would say that, but she was bent upon giving him a child, whether he liked it or not. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 09 "We should go out tonight." Jessica, slipped her hands through his gapping shirt, feeling his hard muscles clench beneath her finger tips. Her hot breath fanned his neck as she cupped his burning arousal. Christian groaned and took her mouth with such fervour it left them both breathless. Jessica moaned as her back hit the wall, strong palms cupped both bum cheeks as Christian grounded her against him. Suddenly Jessica realised they were both wearing too many clothes. A vivid image of both of them naked flashed in her mind, within seconds their clothes vanished. Her breast pressed against his hard torso, causing a wave of hot need to sear through Christian. Jessica arched towards him, offering her aching breast. He took a nipple into his mouth and laved it, his teeth grazed her flesh causing goose pimples to appear. Christian could feel her hot, wet need rub against his thigh. Growling he lifted her up, both thighs wrapped around his waist pressing aginst his hard member. "Please Christian, now!" She sobbed as his fingers trailed her blazing cleft. He didn't need any more prompting. He thrust into her. Jessica cried out as she felt him strech her. Complete her. Never had she felt such fulfillment. Within moments her head was thrashing from side to side. Her fists pummeled his chest as she came for him. Christian moved with deep slow strokes, kissing her passionately before taking a breast into his mouth. "Please!" She whispered. Christian moaned as her hands trailed to his neck, before her teeth sank into his vein. Jessica feasted on his blood and reveled in it. So much passion and need. Werewolves rarely drank blood, for them it was not mandatory, but she could understand why vampires might need it so. Colour burst before his eyes. He shuddered as he exploded within her. Jessica was grateful that Christian was supporting her, otherwise she would probably be laying in a puddle before him. Christian gently removed himself from her, extracting a small moan from her swollen lips. He chuckled as she leaned into him, her head resting on his chest. They both gasped for breath before collapsing onto the bed. "That...was...great." Christian panted, scooping her into his arms. He groaned as she traced his chest, her fingers finally curling in the scattering of chest hair, that narrowed towards his stomach and led to his limp penis. Jessica beamed with pride. I did that. "You sure did princess." He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, before nipping her bottom lip. He then kissed her chin, small butterfly kisses leading to the erratic beating of her vein. "Oh, Christian." She sighed as his fangs penetrated her skin. She held his head to her neck, spasms ran through her body as his hands trailed to her breast, then to her welcoming lips. She thrust urgently at his hands, until she felt the shudders through her lower part. Her walls contracted around his finger and she gave a small cry before collapsing. Christian ran his tongue over the puncture wounds, then brushed stray hair form her face and smiled. Once again he had evaded the subject. ... Christian once again dug his heels into he ground. Jessica almost stumbled as he held her back. The neon lights of the cinema loomed ahead. She almost kicked him as he pouted stubbornly. She couldn't for the life of her understand why he was being so difficult. "Lets just go for a walk." He whined, tugging her into his arms. As romantic as it sounded, she was determined to get him into a public place. Using all her super human strength, she pushed him into the revolving doors. Nothing was amiss. Everyone was doing what people at the pictures did, buying tickets and pop corn. Everything was right, yet Christian still stood edgily his eyes roaming every nook and cranny. "Well I'll be damn!" Came a strong, deep voice. Christian spun around murder in his eyes, he stood haunched in a battle pose. Jessica laid a warm hand on his arm, thrilling over the feel of his skin beneath hers. "Christian it's Gabriel." The red mist around him dissolved, until he smiled sheepishly. His friend eyed him speculatively, while his arm rested protectively around his wife's shoulders. They both decided to watch the same movie- a chick flick starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, both to the men's dismay. Jessica sat flanked by Maria and Christian, who had his hands pulling the stuffing from his cinema seat. As soon as the lights dimmed, he once again began searching every face and every shadow. A shudder ran through his body. Nosfaratu was here. He sent Van Helsing a quick warning, but to his horror, his friend was staring misty eyed at the cinema screen. "Helsing, I feel it". Van Helsing looked up at his companion, baffled for a mere few minutes then bolted from his seat. "Where are you going?" Maria hissed, her eyes continuing to stick to the screen. Jessica tutted as Christian also got up and squeezed past them. "Toilet duty." Christian mumbled. Both the woman shooed them away and huddled closer. Christian took one last look at Jessica, a tear rolling down her pale cheek, a sad smile upon her lips. His heart gripped uncontrollably for her pain, and he suddenly had the need to sit beside her and comfort her. "Hey man, come on." Christian shook his head and followed Helsing out of the screen. The corridor to the mens room was unusually dark, and Christian could feel his brother's taint scratching against his skin. He stood in the shadows, with just a small flickering light to bathe him in an unusual glow. His skin shone white, as black hair rolled down his leather-clad shoulders. His lips a disturbing red. Christian could feel Van Helsing tense beside him and felt his own muscles coil, prepared for an attack. "what are you doing here?" Christian asked. Vlad smiled at his little brother and ran his tongue over a fang and shrugged innocently. "Would you wish me to starve, little brother?" He asked sweetly "This is a grand eating area..." He looked at him coyly "Thank you for recommending it." Christian groaned at his own stupidity. He should never had come to such a public place, he should have known Vlad's cronies were on the look out for him. "Anyway, I was just saying to Artemis, I need, to find the remaining four guards." Christian took a step towards his brother, only to be hit in the chest by a silver bolt of lighting. Van Helsing threw a three five pointed star, with razor sharp edges made for ripping skin. It nicked Vlad's cheek. A small trickle of blood, marked his white skin. He stared murderously at the man. his arms rolled around one an other, causing black clouds to form around his hands. Christian countered against the attack, dispersing the cloud so it became nothing. Vlad snarled, launching himself at Christian. They fumbled on the floor, Christian struck him hard on the chin. "Stop this!" Came a voice, so loud and startling, it broke both men apart. A striking red haired woman stood with a tunic of pure white wrapped scandalously around her body. She walked silkily towards them, her hand upon Vlad's head they disappeared. But not before he saw the triumphant smile on her lips. Artemis was a selfish, woman a danger to humans. She had created both werewolves and vampires. Jealous of her brothers followers she made a race of wolf like creatures who could only worship the moon, but soon they realised that day was as important an night, and so in her fury she made vampires, who could not stand the day, and who would feed of both her fathers humans and her traitorous werewolves. Christian knew that if she was with Vlad then the whole word was in trouble. "I think we shouldn't tell the women what has just happened." Van Helsing said, rubbing himself down. "I second that." ... In Artemis's domain Vlad passed the confines her palace. He ignored the scent of lilies and the crashing of the fountain, he sent the goddesses a hostile glare before sending a shard of lighting smashing into one of the many pillars. Artemis found this behavior all together to amusing, the more volatile he become, the greater the sex. "Why did you pull me away, I could have killed him" Artemis just smiled and caressed her lean stomach. Her near transparent gown, her rosy nipple played peek-a-boo, she sent her scent rushing towards him and felt his hunger. Vlad growled and flew towards her, scooping her into his arms he bit into her tender flesh. In a flash their clothes vanished, he penetrated her as he continued to suck from her. They rose in the air as her orgasm built and built. Her fingers ripped through his pale flesh as she came for him. they flowed dreamily back onto the rose covered chaise. His face laid nestled between her breasts. "Why Artemis?" She stoked his dark hair rhythmically, her body shivered as his tongue flickered out to taste her flesh. "Because we have created something that can kill him and his kind for us." Vlad looked up at her. "Our child." The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 10 Jessica sat before the doctor, her hands clenching her small purse. She knew it wasn't a good idea for her to visit a human doctor, but if she had gone to a werewolf, then she probably wouldn't be alive. "Well Miss de Groudané you are three months pregnant." Jessica smiled tightly, part of her was jumping for joy, another part fully registered Christian's warning. Their child would be hunted down too. What if he or she witnessed their murders? "Jessica?" She stood up quickly and shook hands with the doctor. Leaving him puzzled at her reaction, ah well the youth of today. Jessica left the clinic and made her way to the Edmonds home. Mary was as usual, sitting in the kitchen a large shank of beef lay dripping with blood. Mary garnished it with pepper and turnips. She turned as she heard Jessica slump into one of the chairs. "What is it Jessica?" Mary asked, running a finger along the meat and licking the blood from her fingers. "I'm going to have Christian's baby." Mary gasped and looked at the young girl sitting at the table, her hands folded on her lap. Instead of the usual jubilation of an expecting bitch, Jessica looked ready to bolt and slightly guilty. "Oh sweet child" Mary cooed sympathetically pouring her a glass of fresh lemonade from the pitcher. Jessica smiled appreciatively and gulped down the beverage. She was so frightened. Lupine foetus's had high resistants to the termination poison, and she could never do that to any child of hers. Never! But Christian had been adamant about not wanting a child. Although they were mates it didn't mean he couldn't leave her. "Don't worry Jessica, just wear your most scandalous outfit, and seduce the boy. Then when he least expects it. Bam! It worked with my husband...twice." Jessica couldn't help but laugh. She realised that this may be her only chance of having a child seeing as there were malevolent forces at work. Just then Christian and Steve walked in, both in a heated argument. "That was a foul and you know it." Both men wore snug fitting jeans with dirt marks streaked down the sides. Christian in particular with mud smeared all over his left cheek. Jessica blushed as he kissed her on the cheek absently. Usually she would have rebuked his less than eager actions but she was too strung up. Christian detected this. "Jessie is something wrong?" "What, wrong, of course not...just leave me alone." She sprung from her seat and rushed upstairs. Christian looked at Mary, who just shrugged. Jessica heard him close the door softly behind him. He crouched before her and took her hands in his. He rubbed his thumbs across her own and looked deeply into her eyes. "I know how much you fear this Christian, but I'm...I'm..." "Pregnant." He supplied shakily. "But how did you know?" Jessica sighed as he rested his head upon her lap, and dug her fingers in his luscious locks. "I know, because you are my mate." He kissed her wrist seductively as her hand rested against his cheeks. "You know what we have to do?" She nodded. Preparing to say goodbye to everything she knew. ... Christian sniffed the air once, before conjuring a ball of lighting which swept out the vampires. They came like swarms of locust, tens upon tens. "Remind me again why I hang out with you." Gabriel Van Helsing asked, punching a vampire in the jaw, it staggard momentarily, in that brief hesitation, Gabriel thrust the stake through it's heart. The demon's body blistered before bursting into fine dust. Christian pushed against the ground and flew into the air, his body a silhouette against the large moon. He hated this time of the month, for the next three days he would be dogging, stabbing and running from hoards of werewolves and vampires. Two blond vampires twirled ancient Celtic swords around them effortlessly, Christian pulled out his own sword channeling a thin streak of electric energy. He just hoped Jessica was having a better time. Jessica felt the reassuring grip of Mary's hand. She was glad she had come, without Mary she didn't know whether or not she would have the guts to tell him. Her grandfather puffed at a cigar his eyes scrutinized her every move. "So he has contaminated by my grandchild?" His face was calm, his voice cool and deathly cold. Jessica stared at him, her grandfather. The man who had taken her to the park on sunny days, bought her ice cream when it was hot. He was treating her like a pile of horse dung. "It's not like that..." Mary stuttered "Does this matter concern you bitch." He addressed Mary without even looking at her. Mary stood up and tugged Jessica with her. "Don't you dare talk to me like that, I am in every way your superior" Jessica was too stunned to even realize that they were heading out of San Francisco. She knew that there bags were packed and that hopefully Christian would join them. She suddenly felt cold and alone, she placed her hand on her stomach and felt the little flutter of life. soon she would have to decide whether or not her baby or babies would be born in human form or wolf form. Would this new home be away from the terrors of the world, or would there be vampires and wolves just as like her, searching the Halfling. ... Christian pulled the knife from the vampire before it even turned to dust. The sun was peeping over the top of the trees. Before them laid scattered wolves and the remains of vampires. All twenty four ribs were broken, he could feel the blood filling his lungs. Gabriel on the other hand was relatively unharmed. Thanks to him. "You know you didn't have to use all your energy to shelter me." Gabriel huffed, shifting through the ash, he gave a small triumphant yell as he found his silver stake. "I know, but Maria would have killed me if you had died, by the way you're the father to a baby girl." Gabriel froze, with a crackle of energy Christian moved Gabriel to where his wife and baby daughter rested. He turned to the carnage, he lifted his hands into the air. Forceful winds pushed the bodies invisible to humans to where their families awaited their arrival p.s. This is sooooo not the end. However I need all the advice I can get for the next chapter. Of Course if you all hated it, then I shall forget about making chapter 11 and lock myself in my room forever :( feed back is always welcome, and I hope you enjoy... please, please if you have any ideas on what should happen next please tell, writers block is a bitch. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 11 Thank you all very much for your ideas, they've really helped me figure out where that story is going. Ideas are still greatly appreciated and I hope this story will develop into something that will be loved and remembered. x .................... The small taxi made its slow ascension up the pebbled driveway. Tall deciduous and coniferous tress swooped down upon the small black vehicle. Christian smiled with satisfaction giving a silent thank you to Gabriel who had found the cottage. It was three miles five miles away from the nearest town and several meters away from their neighbours. The trees did well to hide the fact that there was something more than a patch of shrub land. "Will you be needing any help with the dog?" Jessica hid a smile behind her hand as the driver enquired of the large white canine resting on her lap, running her fingers through his thick pelt she shook her head. As the driver took out their luggage, she marvelled at the seclusion of the home even now it could barely be seen with its grey stones and creeping vines. "Oh Christian this is just wonderful." The wolf by her side sat proudly his tail wagging with happiness of knowing he had pleased his mate. As soon as the taxi driver left Christian turned back into his human form. Taking Jessica's hand into his own he pulled her close to his body his fangs nipping at the supple flesh of her neck. "You're hungry." It was a question but a statement. Ever since her pregnancy Christian had been reluctant to drink from her, in case something happened to their child. but in fact she wanted him to drink from her. She would rather he fed from her than another being. "Shh." He said cupping her face in his hands. "I will not feed from you, I don't even need to. I'm more wolf than anything else." Jessica blushed as he rubbed himself against her, it sent spirals of hot heat up and down her body. Rubbing her cheek against his neck, she allowed the magic of the ancients to pour through her body. Christian arched an eyebrow as the woman he loved shifted from human, to large werewolf. Fine red fur barely covered her pert breast, which were now heavy due to the changes in her body. Long auburn hair ran down her back to her hips, as her extend muzzle nudged him in the shoulder. As a werewolf she stood at seven feet which was dwarfed by his impressive eight as he joined her. Jessica usually preferred to be either human or wolf, but with him she embraced her werewolf side. Running clawed fingers down his arm, her tongue flickered out to taste his protruding nipple. Growling low in his throat he lifted her into his arms and ran towards the cottage. Jessica gave a deep guttural giggle as she felt him pressing into her hide. "Key." He croaked. Jessica looked to where their clothes lay tattered on the lawn and burst out laughing. "I don't see how this is funny." His unnaturally deep voice growled. Looking at his face full of disappointment and barely leashed lust only served to make Jessica laugh even more. "Oh that's it, do you know what's coming to you?" settling her on to the ground He pulled her into his arm, his lips moving over her shoulder, down her arm. He pressed a velvety kiss to the inside of her elbow and on the tender pulse point of her wrist. Gooseflesh popped up along her skin and ran down her back. He chuckled deep in his throat as she arched towards him, soft mewling escaped her lips. Christian placed a clawed hand on her slightly raised stomach and kissed the small mound. A look of pride flittered through his face as he whispered a few words of love to his unborn child. Jessica looked into his eyes and they both smiled as she placed her hand over his. His cool light fur slid across her cheek as he ran his tongue along her muzzle. Spreading her legs she thrust her hips upwards. Christian hissed as he entered her. as a werewolf he was much larger and she was much tighter. He had never made love in this form before; he knew it was a sacred act seen as the ultimate declaration of love. This was their true form and to make love like this with his child growing in her womb made the act even more seductive. Jessica whimpered as he lifted her onto his lap, his thrust became ever more powerful and quickened in speed. Her claws left bloody scores on his back, but Christian didn't care, it only heightened his lust for her. "Christian." She growled just before she came. In unison they howled with release. Jessica slumped against him, her werewolf shape shrinking until she returned to her human state. Christian, still a werewolf growled gently against her neck realising that no matter how much he wanted to stay this way, he was hurting her. reluctantly they disentangled themselves, Christian running searching hands over Jessica. "I didn't hurt you did I?" Jessica thumped him playfully on his chest. "I hope you aren't going to ask me that every time we make love?" Christian paused, looking down into her laughing eyes. Brushing his knuckled against her soft cheek he dipped his head and captured her lips with his. "I worry." He shrugged then lifted her into his arms. "Let's go christen our new home." ... "You don't understand Toni, I'm getting cabin fever out here." Jessica complained to her friend as she stirred a steaming bowl of mutton and marshmallow soup. During her pregnancy her cravings had become more and more peculiar. Mary had assured her it was totally normal for an expecting bitch to want things that normally repulsed her. Jessica just longed for the birth of her child, that way she could go back to being a normal werewolf. "I thought Christian's family were over." Jessica moaned with bliss as she spooned another mouthful of the meat and marshmallow combo into her mouth. "They are but they are as protective of me as Christian, not only did Mary bring a bucketful of marshmallows, which I am forever grateful for, but she also told me about the raise in vampire conversions in San Francisco. Now this place is like fort Knox, I have to run in the woods with at least two supervisors." Her friend laughed sympathetically on the phone which only angered Jessica more. "Why don't you come home for a few day?" There was a long silence. Jessica wondered who was more shocked. "What?" "Look I know I said your grand-father had gone a bit crazy." That was an understatement. Vincent never wanted Jessica's name mentioned, he had removed all her belonging and burnt them the night she had told him of her pregnancy. Now they trained vigorously, vampires were no longer the problem; it was the Halfling Vincent wanted. Toni hadn't told her the full extent of Vincent's hatred. At times she feared for Jessica knowing the only thing stopping her grandfather from killing her mate was that he didn't know where they were. Toni allowed Jessica time to think. In all honesty she didn't want Jessica to be harmed, but Vincent had explained the only way to save her was to kill the Halfling. Could her mentor be right, was the Halfling keeping Jessica imprisoned. Perhaps Jessica had been brainwashed so thoroughly that she didn't even realise that the Halfling was abusing her. Toni growled in anger. "Are you ok?" Jessica asked jogging her from her thoughts. "Of course, as I was saying all your grandfather needs is for you to come home. You left without giving him the chance to adjust to your pregnancy. Come home Jess." Jessica sighed, could she really leave this place? Francisco wasn't the place it once was, by running away from their families they had also ran away from the fact that Vlad was still at large. "I'll see what I can do." ...... Jessica awaited the autumn with abated breath and as the first of the leaves began to fall she knew that it was time. "Are you sure this is what you want to do?" Christian had asked a worried expression on his face. Jessica had been adamant she would birth their child as a human; she wanted the chance to hold her child to her breast. Her pregnancy was now very visible and she found it amusing when Christian rested his head on her bump and spoke of all the things he would teach their child. It was early evening and the sun had just begun its descent when Christian had mentioned going for a walk. "You know you can roam if you want." Christian squeezed her hand gently, this had been the fifth time Jessica had mentioned roaming. Was she trying to get rid of him? Ever since his family had returned to America watching Jessica had become imperative. She was a target and he would kill him self if anything happened. "I'm not going to leave you." Jessica growled with frustration, she didn't know where this anger came from but suddenly she had had enough. "That's it! I can't take this anymore." Not really thinking it through Jessica turned into a wolf and ran into the dense woodland. Christian paled, she would now have to remain a wolf for the next three months until their wolf pup was born. Christian shuddered as he dropped to the ground, fur ran over his body as he took the form of a wolf, chasing after his mate. Jessica panted with exhilaration, she didn't mind that she would now give birth as a wolf, if it meant freedom then so be it. Her ears pricked as she heard the pads of paws on the woodland floor. Careful not to tread on leaves she made her way to the small stream that ran through their property. Taking a long drink from the water she quickly washed herself in it, trying her best to rid her scent. 'I haven't survived this long not knowing how to track.' Came the voice in her head. Jessica spun around her ears lowered. Christian stood magnificently on a jutting log, his windswept fur blowing in the breeze. Not only could she see the anger in eyes, but the pain he felt that she would run from him. 'Leave me alone, I want to be alone.' She darted towards more wooded area sure that she had out run him when she felt a sharp tug. He had her by the scruff of her neck, his iridescent blue eyes burning into hers, she whimpered as she felt his incisors penetrate her skin. Christian spat her flesh out of his mouth, darting away from her as if he feared hurting her anymore. Laying on his belly he flattened his ears against his head, then turned onto his back, his belly showing in submission. 'Talk to me.' He implored, his stomach still showing. Jessica walked towards him, sprawling herself over his stomach. 'You are suffocating me, no one knows where we are, and everything has been fine in the past three months. When our baby is born we will return and defeat your brother...together.' Christian yelped in disagreement. Moving her head she flicked her tongue of his gentiles. Christian froze and he hardened. 'Jess.' His voice barely a whisper as he squirmed beneath Jessica. Jessica pushed herself off him, her tail waging in anticipation. To mate as wolves. She barked playfully as he nipped her tail playfully. So caught up in their ministrations, they didn't hear the crunching of leaves under foot, the breathing of fellow wolves. ... Christians head jerked up just was he was about to penetrate Jessica. Pushing her behind him he changed into a werewolf, his hands held in front of him ready to attack. "Who are you?" He growled. One of the wolves stepped forward his white coat was littered with grey hairs yet he still stood strong. The wolf changed into a man, a head taller than Christian, iridescent blue eyes scorched his. Blond hair ran down his shoulders as he stepped forward. "What kind of shit is this!" Christian yelled, drawing back his lips and showing his impressively sharp fangs. "Watch that mouth of yours!" Christian growled launching himself at the man becoming a werewolf in the process. All the wolves began to attack him their teeth tearing into his flesh. Jessica ran forward her own teeth bared. No one bit her mate but her. As she tore at the wolves she realised Christian was still strong as he was protecting her from their attacks. "Enough!" The strange man yelled flinging all the wolves off Christian. He lay panting on the floor, he muscles screamed he pushed himself up. A soft body helped him, it was Jessica. He lifted her up into his arms, his fingers running over her body. 'Let me down baby.' She licked his face earnestly as he placed her on the ground right before he felt a sharp pain in his back. Jessica howled as he crumpled to the floor. Her teeth bared she made to run at the human. He caught her in his arms and gently wrestled her to the ground. "Quite down, my son is fine." The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 12 "What are you doing?" Christian looked up as his father approached him. He held an axe over his shoulder with some freshly chopped wood under his arm. Christian smiled widely running to meet his father. "I was hunting." He said earnestly as Julian ruffled his hair with pride, dropping the logs he lifted Christian into his arms. "Where is your mother?" "In the basement, she said she was not feeling very well." A strange look flittered over Julian's face, his eyes sparkled with excitement. Tightening his hold on his son he walked towards the cottage, squirming from his fathers hold Christian shifted into a small white wolf pup. Julian laughed as he ambled down the stone staircase leading the basement. "Christian." His mother said chidingly, pulling the writhing puppy into her arms. Running a loving hand over his sons head Julian leant forward capturing Diane's lips with his own. Diane leant into her husband, scraping her incisors along his jaw, the pulsing of his vein calling to her. "Ma Mere, Mon Frere." Giggling Diane placed Christian on the ground, prideful eyes watched as he shifted back into a young boy. "Christian told me you weren't well." Diane took Julian's worried face into her hands and kissed at the worry lines marring his brow. "All is well." Her eyes glittering with mischief. "A child?" He whispered. Diane just kissed him again. "I will know soon enough." Julian lifted Diane into his arms and spun her around the room. Christian who had now climbed into his parent's bed watched with laughter in his eyes, he never wanted this moment to end. ... "Christian. Christian wake up." A soft hand shook him awake, a familiar scent washed over him, an anchor in the maelstrom of uncertainty. "Jess?" Jessica smiled as his eyes opened slowly revealing the blue eyes she loved so much. They were filled with so much sadness it tore at her heart, what has brought this upon him? After helping him up she left the room returning with a steaming bowl of soup. "Julian said this will return your strength." Christian hissed flinging the bowl away, Jessica stood aside as he ripped the bed sheets kicked the floor lamp, smashed a vase. She has never seen him so angry, the only thing keeping her from bolting was the knowledge that Christian would never hurt her, he was angry and he had every right to be. "They said I had until sun rise to change back into a human. I'm relieved, I didn't want to stay a wolf for the next three months." She said trying to take his mind off the fact that his father was alive. She succeeded. Christian walked shakily towards her, running his cheek against hers. "All I wanted was to protect you, I failed my parents I didn't want to fail you too." She felt hot liquid coat her neck as he wept. Suddenly she felt like every type of fool after all he had been through, after all that both been through she should have realised his need to protect her. Instead she had acted like a spoiled brat which had resulted in the kidnapping Christian had tried to avoid. "Where are we?" Christian said a few minutes later. The bedroom was sparse with only a bed, side table and one dresser. The room was painted all in black and there were no windows. "Sanctuary." Jessica answered. ... Julian read and re-read the letter in his hand, Vincent de Groudané had sent a bounty for Christian, and the reward was so large no man would turn it down. "Woo wee, with that much money my children's, children will be millionaires." Julian sent his second in command a scathing look. His son was worth more than a couple of million, he just needed to persuade his men that the money was insignificant. A tall black haired woman entered the briefing room. Her blood red eyes flashed with anger. Both men gulped as she stormed in, her scarlet cloak billowing as she moved with speed of sound. Julian gasped as her taloned hands grabbed his throat, her fangs flashing menacingly beneath the light. "You brought him here?! Here!" She gave a mournful cry. Swirling into a black mist she sped out of the room her cries ringing through the house. "Well she didn't take it well." James said, Julian laughed. "Understatement of the year." ... Christian pulled away from Jessica as he heard the blood curdling scream that filled the air. Not many things unnerved him, but he could feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. It had been nearly three hundred years since he last heard that cry. "What was that?" Jessica asked hating the warble in her voice. He didn't want her scared, even though he felt like collapsing into a heap of resignation. Holding Jessica he laid his hand on her stomach the small flutter of his child kicking eased him. Again the agonised wail could be heard. Christian growled as Jessica hid her face against his chest, her slender arms wrapped around his neck. "Please Christian I'm...I'm...scared." Running his fingers through her hair he tilted he chin to meet his kiss. His father was alive and well, the memories of seeing him laying in a pool of blood angered him. All this time he had blamed himself for not protecting his mother as she was raped and murdered, it was time to face his demons. Stalking to the door he flung it open his teeth bared. "For moons sake shut up mother!" ... Jessica sat at the dining table, it was made of dark mahogany, wolves and big cats were carved into its legs and those of the matching chairs. A tense silence filed the air, Julian sat at one end of the table and she was surprised at how alike Christian and Julian looked. Their hair was the same shade of blonde although Julian's was littered with grey. They also had the same eerie blue, iridescent eyes which held the same level of pain, anger and pride. Diane sat at the opposite end of the table a gold goblet of blood in her taloned hands. She was beautiful with midnight black hair and pale, snow white skin. Her lips were blood red and her cheeks a faint rose due to the meal of blood before her. She wore a low cut corseted dress with a dark scarlet cloak which matched the colour of her eyes. If this had been any other situation it would have been funny, Christian sat opposite her with a sullen look on his face, he had been forced to apologise to his mother. "So Jessica, your are my cousins granddaughter." Jessica nodded, noting how Christian's eyes darkened. "How is the family?" Christian snorted ignoring the rare steak on his plate. Julian sent him a reprimanding glare which only angered Christian further. "Are you well?" Diane asked noticing the agitated look on her sons face. Christian growled sending Diane the most scathing glare he could muster. "No! No I'm not. You are alive, alive!" He roared thrusting his chair back. "Sit down." Julian said wearily, unfazed by Christians outburst. "You shouldn't make him angry." Jessica whispered, but Julian didn't seem to here her words that or he didn't care. "Apologise to your mother." Christian jaw hung open at the absurdity of what his father was asking. Could he be serious? Did he honestly believe he would apologise. "You let met think you were dead. I saw what they did to you." He said pointing to his mother. "And you, you were laying in your own blood." Horror filled Christians face as he relived the day in his mind. "For your safety." Julian said also affected by Christian's discomfort. "Safety." Christian spluttered. "To me you were dead, my only family dead. if only you had stayed that way." Christian was sorely tempted to walk out of the door, but the look on Jessica's face stopped him. Tears ran down her cheeks as she realised just how much Christian had suffered growing up, he had never known piece and as much as his parents tried to justify what they had done Christian had been far from protected. Offering him a comforting smile Christian sat back down in his seat. "I think we will leave you men to talk." Diane said motioning to Jessica, unsure whether she should leave Christian Jessica was hesitant. "It's okay Jessie, you must be exhausted anyway. I'll meet you upstairs." All life had left Christians eyes and for a moment she hated Julian and Diane just as much as he did, it wasn't for the red tears Diane vainly tried to hide she may have refused and demand to be taken home. Christian grasped Jessica's hand just as she was about to leave the room, tugging her down onto his lap he kissed her passionately expressing to her just how much he loved her and finding strength from her warm embrace. Finally he let her go, ready to face his father. ... Christian watched as his mate and mother left the dining room together. It was a sight he never thought he would ever see. His feelings for Jessica were strong and they strengthened each, but his mother was a different story. Until last night he had believed himself an orphan, but to know they had been alive the whole time...Feeling his anger mount he slowly turned to his father negative magic flowing through his finger tips. "If you had me explain perhaps you would not be so angry." Julian said straightening in the velvet red armchair he had moved to once the women had left. He had been somewhat silent during the meal but know that he had time alone with his son, he was well armed to defend himself and his mate. "You left me on my own." Christian whispered any anger he felt diminished, Julian watched in terror as his son slumped into the opposite him and suddenly the man, the warrior, the alpha he had seen before him had withered into the six year old boy he had left behind. Those few words had managed to erase every explanation in Julian's head. "It had to be done, you were safe without us." Even to Julian the words sounded cold and rehearsed. "Were you ever chased from your home? Your friends attacking you once they learnt who and what you were?" The picture his son painted sounded horrific and for the first time in three hundred years Julian wondered if he and Diane had made a mistake. "We believed that separated we had a fighting chance, integrated into a werewolf family you should have fit in." "Should have? You were supposed to know these things, every full moon I would run with all my might or fight with all my strength, my blood coating the ground, my bones all but broken, yeah a better life." "If we hadn't done what we did, we would have all been killed!" Julian took a deep breath. "This place is a sanctuary for people like us, those who don't want to be part of this battle." "There are others like me?" Christian asked, for now his anger could wait knowing he wasn't totally alone in the world was more important. "No, you Christian are truly an anomaly. There is no one like you." Christian noticed the hitch in his father's voice as his eyes misted over, it took him back to the morning his parent had been killed. "There may have been though, I guess the attack did kill someone after all." Christian refused to apologise for his coarse words even though he could tell his father was angered by them. Pushing himself out of the armchair Christian walked to the door, just before he left he turned to his father. "It was nice meeting you Julian Valentine may your cause grow and prosper, the moon at your back." He said giving his father an ancient lycan blessing. Fully aware that this would be the last time he ever saw his son Julian chose his words carefully. "May your son grow and prosper the full moon at his back." Christian paused, his son? "How do you know the child is a boy?" "You are my son, I know these things." ... Jessica sat at the dressing table, slightly put off by the fact her mother had no reflection although she could feel her combing her hair, feeling her fingers run through her auburn tresses. Diane was very beautiful for an eight hundred year old vampire. There wasn't a lot of Diane in Christian, she was dark were he was light, her eyes a deep dark red but they did share the same composure and characteristics. They both appeared to float on air with so much royal bearing it was obvious that they were from a royal blood line. They shared the same smile and humorous twinkle in their eyes, Jessica was happy to have met the princess of the vampires, Christian's mother. "I suppose you have many questions that need answering?" Jessica nodded, sending a smile of gratitude as Diane returned the brush, she sat on the large bed she was sharing with Christian. With one hand on her abdomen she began. "What was it like, giving birth?" Diane was dumbstruck, she was prepared for an onslaught of accusations and damnations. Not a question such as this, but if it meant Jessica was beyond the need to verbally massacre her, then she was more than happy. "As children of the goddess we feel very little pain all shall be fine. My cards say so." Jessica sighed with relief, the birth of her child had been plaguing her, but now she awaited the birth of her child and the arms of her mate. ... Vincent de Groudané looked at the vampire before him with barely contained contempt. Hatred bled from his pores and although he had invited the demon into his home, his soldiers hid amongst the shadows. "I know who you killed your son and his wife." Vincent lurched in his seat, eyes wide with surprise. For twelve years he had been searching for his son's killer, a name and a face to maul over as person not a phantom, you couldn't kill a ghost. "Who, who was he?" His knuckles whitened with anticipation as he clutched the arm rests. "Was? Oh no, he is very much alive." Vincent couldn't breath, finally retribution! Jessica would want to hear this. Now that Philippe had called of the manhunt he had been certain she would return to San Francisco, even now Philippe was searching for his grandson ready to welcome him into the royal family. Okay so he personally had a bounty for Christians death, but that did not mean his granddaughter was not welcome. He understood that he had been harsh before, but now he was fully prepared to forgive her. "Who, who killed my son?" Once Vincent knew the name of his sons murderer he and Jessica would reunite and have their vengeance. The vampire sighed with feigned reluctance a small smile twitching on his lips. "Christian Valentine." The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 13 "Let me through. You out!" Christian glared at Mary and his mother shaking his head Christian sidled next to Jessica and grasped her hand. "I want to be here." Mary reluctantly agreed. A few hours later Jessica was still squeezing Christian's hand this time crying out as another contraction ripped though her body. "Things were easier when you were giving me the silent treatment." Christian said. Just hours before Jessica had been upset over Christian's reluctance to speak to his father, three months of dodging calls and midnight arguments made Jessica very grumpy, as least in the weeks up to the birth he had allowed Diane into the house, aware that she was the only one to have birthed a hybrid. Mary insisted on being the midwife as she was 'more of a mother to Christian than that blood sucker had ever been'. The arguments between Mary and Diane were almost if not more so irritating as Christian and Julian's. "It was your fault" She huffed. "It's not good to argue, I am very busy now." "You are busy?" She snapped. "I can do this with Diane and Mary thank you very much, you can go sit downstairs with the men." "Ah, but Jessica I was here when we made this child, I might as well see it through." He said grinning. Jessica would have hit him if she could have reached him. The bulk of her stomach blocked nearly everything from view. Except it could not block out Christian, his face was looming above her and he was grinning. Well, he could smile as much as he wanted. He wasn't the one with pain ripping through his body. She had that privilege. Though she could not help smiling when the pain eased. He was determined to have her laughing through her contractions, and he was very successful. "You are not going to scream again are you?" He asked, frowning noticing the dazed look on Jessica's face. "I might, if it suits me." Jessica huffed again as he wiped her brow with a damp cloth. "Give me the cloth" she said, panting. "It eases the nausea to have it over my mouth. It's the damp wool" "The damp wool? You are going to give me a lycan child! Confess it, Jessica! You are conspiring to birth a child who enjoys rolling in puddles and drinking from the toilet." Jessica laughed at his reference to werewolves. Christian always preferred his vampire heritage. "I fess up." she said as another contraction began to slide its way over her belly. "I confess to having a lycan child" "Tell me." He said when the pain passed. "We made this child that day in the woods, didn't we?" "What day in the woods? You enjoy romping in the woods too much. I've lost count" "You must remember. I know you must." He whispered as Mary felt her belly and pressed to feel the baby's head all was well, although Diane couldn't help but point out her cards had told her everything would be fine. "It was the day when I brought you that necklace." Christian fingered the golden howling wolf around Jessica's slender neck. "I remember it was cold." She gritted out, holding his hand tightly. "I remember only the sun and the blue of sky." "You would. It was me who was bared from nipple to knee, legs spread for the world and his dog to see." They both blushed as Diane tsked. "So you do remember." Christian whispered against her ear, sending shivers down her spine. "I think that was the day our child was conceived. You screamed when you came. I remember a flock of birds flew up at the sound" "And I remember that one left a white sign of its terror upon your head." She said, throwing the cloth at him. Still grinning Christian bent to freshen it and then placed it damp and dripping, over his wife's mouth. She breathed in deeply, her nausea quieted. "Not much longer." He said, rubbing his hand down her thigh in a long caress. "He comes too slowly." She said. "If I had the strength, I would..." "Would what." He asked. Jessica smiled weakly and lay back. "Sleep. Do you think I will sleep ever again?" "Not for another year...at least." "Thanks for the reassurance." Christian shrugged and grinned watching as the Mary spread Jessica's knees to feel the baby. "I only repeat what my mom told me." He said. "She may have lied. But I don't think so there was too much prideful anguish in her voice." Hearing his words both Mary and Diane looked up nodding with agreement. "Can you see the head?" Jessica asked. "Yes its dark blonde and wet and only just coming" Diane said. "What do you need me to do?" Christian asked Mary. "I need you take my place on this bed." Jessica gritted out as another pain struck her fast and hard. "That is a wish I will pray Artemis ignores." He said, kissing her knee as he stroked her legs. They were trembling. She was trembling and cold. "What colour is my skin?" She asked, suddenly deeply afraid, why was she cold? Was something going wrong? Christian looked up and stared into her large green eyes. "The same colour as always, like risen dough, warm and your cheeks are as rosy as berries" "I look healthy?" "You look robust, If you were not otherwise occupied, I would take you now." "Not for another year, at least." She said, sinking back onto the bed. "Touché." He said grinning. "He comes." Christian said, bending down to watch, his head lost to her sight and only his shoulders visible. "Tell him to hurry." She said, and then she screamed. The pain was unlike any she had experienced. Sharp. Deep. Long. Then done. "The head is out." Mary said. "I have him by the neck." She could feel something coming, coming and then it was out and the child sliding with it. The pain was a swiftly receding memory. "Is he out?" Jessica asked. "Yes...he is." Diane said smugly knowing her cards had been right. Mary handed the baby to be clutched to Christian's chest, the cord a twist of blue and red. "A tiny lycan cub born in a crashing wave of bloody water." Christian said his voice thick with pride his eyes swimming with tears. Jessica felt the pain of her after birth trying to break free. A dim pain when compared to the birthing of a child. She leaned up on her elbows, suddenly renewed in strength. "A boy?" She said smiling, her eyes tearing so that she could not see a thing. "Yes." Christian said, laying the baby on her belly, the cord holding them together for just a few moments more. "A son." She stared at her son as he found her breast. She couldn't take her eyes off her miracle. He was tiny and red and wrinkled with golden hair, which was curled and wet at the top of his head, bare and bald around the ears. He was perfect. Beautiful. He even smiled. "He is certainly your son." Christian said, coming to wrap an arm around her shoulders. "He is that" Jessica smiled so hard that her cheeks hurt. "See how he smiles? That is pure lycan wickedness." "Oh, he's is not wicked. He is...perfect." "Yes, perfectly wicked." He said, winking down at her. "That great wash of water? Ruined my boots. My new boots Steve bought me. All the way from San Francisco." "Christian must we discuss boots? Why not discuss the perfect son I have given you." "I would say that I have given you a perfect son." "I cannot argue there." Jessica said, nestling into his arms, her son suckling the nipple and pulling hard to find milk. "His name?" Christian kissed the top of his mate's head and ran a fingertip down his sons cheek. "I think I will name him Raphael, he will heal the damage caused by our warring people." "Yes, Raphael clever choice, wonder how long you've been sitting on that one for." Jessica smiled, taking her mate's hand in hers and kissing the base of his thumb. They watched Raphael while he nursed, the nipple falling from his pink mouth as he fell suddenly into sleep. Mary and Diane had cleared the room. Leaving them together, a family. ... Jessica heard the cry of her baby but chose to ignore it. Raphael constantly demanded food, but she was only one wolf. "Christian." She grumbled giving him a firm shove with her foot. When he didn't respond she tried a different tactic, shifting his hair from his nape she placed her lips against his pulse and bit him firmly. Yelping when his strong arms wrapped around her, they tumbled for a good few minutes before Raphael wailed even louder aware that his parents were ignoring him. "Your son." She said firmly snuggling back beneath the covers. Chuckling beneath his breath he went to his son. By the time Christian reached the nursery Raphael was close to resembling a mutated tomato. "There, there." Christian held him close to his chest and gently rocked him from side to side. "Hungry are we?" But already his eyes were closing, Christians thumb firmly grasped in his small infant hand. Jessica opened her eyes slowly as she felt a dip in the bed and a soft snoring. "Mama's boy." She chuckled hoarsely making room for the added addition. Christian laid him gently on some pillows before joining them on the bed. "I'll make an alpha out of you yet." He whispered into his sons ear, joining hands with Jessica, encasing their son with their warmth before dropping to sleep. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch. 14 Jessica and Maria both stood on the back porch as their partners sat beneath the large willow tree at the bottom on their garden. Both men had their children in the strong confines of their arms talking amiably about plans for world domination. "Gabriel told me Julian and Diane are still alive, how did Christian take it?" "As could be expected he was angry and hurt, but things have been smoothed over somewhat they came over the other day, they are totally in love with Raphael." Both women giggled at that. Raphael 'Rafe' Valentine was the most handsome six month old baby in the world. With his fathers' blonde hair and Jessica's moss green eyes, he had the face of an angel and the temperament of a demon. He already had the affections of Sarah who had just celebrated her first birthday. The toddler was totally smitten. The two women had just agreed to join their husbands when the phone rang. "Hello?" there was a few minutes of silence before the caller spoke. "Jessica it's me your grandfather." Jessica almost dropped the phone in shock, it was obvious from Maria's expression that she was not being herself. "Hello grandpa." Maria made a large 'O' with her lips and motioned to leave. Shaking her head Jessica continued listening to her grandfather's niceties. "Grandpa what is it, we haven't spoken in over a year." "I know, I know, I have been a fool. But something has come up, something big that I can't tell you over the phone." Rolling her eyes she was ready to set her grandfather to task. "I have a family now, a man who loves me and a child to love. There's nothing you can possible tell me that I want to know." "What if I have finally discovered who killed your parents? ... Jessica called herself every type of stupid as she and Maria pulled into the café car park. Her friend had been adamant that there was no way Christian would allow Jessica out on her own. Jessica agreed. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Maria asked as they made their way to the shop's entrance. "I've waited twelve long years, trained for the past ten so that I would be prepared to take down who ever killed my parents." Vincent was sitting in a small booth tucked away in the corner, to Jessica he looked old and weathered but with an excited glint in his eyes which banished any doubts of his claim. Kissing him tersely on the cheek she sat down. If Vincent had any qualms about Maria being there, he didn't give any indication. He was too busy assessing Jessica. She had the glow of a new mother, a happy and well loved woman this all reflected on her contentment. Vincent ignored the doubt in his mid prepared tot ell her everything. Her grandfather had been hell bent on finding her parents murderer, he understood disappointment as well as she didn't, he wouldn't have called her unless he was one hundred percent sure. "I don't want you to think I'm lying or trying to ruin your happiness, but I had to tell you...it was Christian." There was a long pause in which everything seemed to still, there was no noise except for the beating of her heart. The possibility had always been there. Her parents had been firm believers of The Hunt, yet not once had she thought that Christian could have killed her parents. She was aware of Maria questioning her grandfather on the reliability of his source, of course he was adamant that his informer was reliable. Christian had taken the only parents she knew, she had only six years with them before they were brutally torn from her. "Why? Why did he do it?" she finally said, aware of the hitch in her voice, her mind replaying every happy moment shah d shared with her mother and father. "My source told me that they had befriended him, without the knowledge of what he was, when they found out, they did the only thing they could do." "Ambush him?!" Maria said angrily. "It is our duty, or it was back then." "To turn on a friend once their heritage was revealed." "It is our way." Jessica said weakly, Vincent leant forward to stroke her hand but she pulled away before he could touch her. "Why would you tell me this, why not allow me to be happy?" but Jessica knew the answer even before the grandfather spoke, it was the lycan way. They lived by honour and vengeance. "Tonight my soldiers and I attack, be out by midnight. We will know if you have warned the Halfling." ... "You have to tell Christian, Jess. I know how you feel..." "How can you possibly understand!" Jessica exploded as they drive back to her home. She hadn't wanted to spend another minute with her grandfather he was a man she didn't know anymore. What of the man you love? She needed time to gather her thoughts, assess herself and her relationship with Christian. "He killed my brother. Christian killed my brother, like you I had been on a search for his killer. Ironically if it wasn't for my brothers death I never would have met Gabriel, never would have had Sarah." Maria shrugged the rest of her words away as she allowed Jessica to digest this new piece of information. "How could you look him in the eye, knowing he killed a part of you?" "Because anyone who knows Chris knows how much he hates death, think about what he saw happen to his parents, he doesn't like to cause pain, not unless it is being caused to him or those he loves. "I know it will take time Jess but believe me if you run away, you will kill him. He loves you so much Jess, Zeus help us if you leave him." ... When they arrived home Jessica had only one though on her mid, getting the hell out of there. Tonight there would be a battle and she had a feeling it was the final one. As it was mid August most of the curtains were left wide open. The house was silent and for a moment she wondered if her grandfather had lied and used the meeting as a way to get her out of the house, in time to kill Christian and their baby. Morphing into a werewolf she ran up the stairs three steps at a time, Maria at her heels. Her long clawed paws sliding on the wooden floor. At seven feet tall, she knew she would be a formidable sight for any impostor. A small sound came from the nursery, in a flash of magical energy she turned into a wolf, her hackles raised and teeth bared. Nudging the door open she was completely floored by the site before her. Gabriel lay slumped in the rocking chair, biker boots over one arm rest, Peter rabbit opened on his lap with his eyes firmly shut as he slept. Christian slept on the floor, Sarah and Raphael sleeping on top of his broad chest. Large battle scared hands held each child with the up most care and protection. Her paws gently padded on the floor as she stretched by his side, gently as not to disturb him she touched her tongue against his cheek, before turning into a woman her hands resting on what little chest he had to spare. ... Christian whistled along to the radio as he prepared dinner. Raphael had been taken for the night by both his parents, so it was just the two of them tonight. Jessica was still asleep, having moved her to the master bedroom. It had been a long time since they had been alone and he as going to enjoy tonight. Jessica woke up in a cold sweat. It took a while for the dredges of sleep to clear her mind, but when it did she was welcomed with the fact that she had little over three hours to save herself and her mate. Rushing down the stars she was hit with the aroma of beef steak, vintage rosé, strawberries and cream. Christian was lighting candles and soft jazz music filled the room. "Where is Raphael?" Christian looked up to see Jessica bewildered and sexy as hell, growling deep in his throat he stalked her. Jessica could not mistake that look, she knew it too well. It meant he wanted her and there was little she could or would do to stop him. "Jessica." She felt his warm breath on the nape of her neck. Groaning she lent into him, feeling his erect groin against the cheeks of her bottom. "Please Christian." God he turned her on so much. With just a touch and she forgave him. Jessica felt her shirt loosen as he undid the buttons. Wriggling slightly she felt the material whisper down her arms and fall to the floor. Christian turned her around so that she now faced him. Wrapping her arms around his neck she kissed him on each eyelid. "Jessica Valentine. I love you." Christian murmured kissing her passionately. Anchoring her legs around him he placed her onto the cold marble counter. Releasing her hold on him she unbuckled his jeans, licking her lips as she took in his full size. She never got over its largeness. Stroking her thighs tenderly she could see how erect he was. "Christian?" He just stared at her smiling. Then she felt him pushing into her, she swallowed hard as he thrust into her. Gasping slightly Jessica let out a low moan as he pulled himself out of her opening. She could see her glistening juices all over it, sliding her fingers over his cock she fed it into his mouth. Relishing the taste he moaned thrusting deeply into her. "You're so tight." He exhaled, clutching onto his shoulders she felt the intensity and ferociousness of his second thrust, crying out she clamped her thighs around his waist. "Oh Christian." Jessica groaned kissing him intently, trailing her hands down his muscular chest, she could feel his hands clench her hips, rocking her against his thrusts. Jessica couldn't breath, she could feel the pressure growing, building. This is where she wanted to stay, forever in his arms oblivious to the world and all the hardships around her. Feeling a wet warmness on her breast she cried out as Christian suckled her breast, making circular motions with his tongue. Warm liquid gushed from her nipples but Jessica felt no shame, she knew how much Christian enjoyed tasting her milk. The added suction on her breast brought her to her fulfilment as the first shudders of an orgasm rippled trough her body. "I love you." She sighed as she felt him empty himself into her. ... "Did I hurt you?" Christian asked wiping the tears from her face, Jessica sniffled reassuring him that she was fine. Her mid was set, she could not betray her grandfather nor could she allow the man she loved to die. Stroking his face with butterfly light touches she memorised every feature of his face lest this be the last time she saw him. Raising her arm with all her werewolf strength she struck him. Christian froze shock marred his face, then anger, then betrayal. "Why?" He whispered before collapsing to the ground. Jessica stayed rooted to the table, her legs were still spread open and continued to throb with the reminiscence of the orgasm Christian had brought her to. The ultimate betrayal, she acknowledged and accepted it, it had to be done. Lifting his motionless body into her arms she made her way to the attic, if by chance her grandfather had lied, this would bide Christian time. Laying him gently on the floor she brushed back way ward locks which had settled over his face. "Forgive me, but it is for the best." Brushing her lips tentatively over his she covered his body with a woollen throw. Taking one last look at her home, the red wolf ran across the fields towards her kin. ................................................ Well there you go another chapter completed. I only have one chapter left to write, a happy ending or a sad one? Or a cliffhanger? who knows, I know I don't. I am really grateful for your patience but you may need to wait a little longer...exam season is upon me *sigh* any ideas would be welcome though, not entirely sure whether a happy ending is too much of a cliche. The Werewolf and the Halfling Ch.15 Christian groaned softly as he felt a small spray of cold water hit his face. His head throbbed and he knew from experience there would be a large bump. "Little brother." The voice was faded, distant. "Little brother." Came the call more fiercely. Cold water drenched his whole body forcing his eyes open. Steven, Gabriel, Simon and his father surrounded him in the attic their looks of worry quickly changed into looks of anger. "Get your furry ass up!" Julian yelled dragging Christian by the collar of his shirt. Christian fought him off, running an aggravated hand though his hair, hissing as he felt the lump on his head. "Jessica." He growled, she done this to him. "Where is she?" He asked sniffing the air for any traces of her scent. "That is not important, Vincent and his army are here as is Vlad." Christian paused. An army? Here? And his brother had come, to what purpose, did Vlad truly think himself safe with a legion of trained werewolves? Christian peered through the attic's window undaunted by what he called see. Around five lycans stood outside his home. Some in the shape of wolves, some as men but the majority as werewolves. Something drew his attention to the skies. Even in the dark countryside night he could clearly see Vlad and by his side stood a young woman close to the age of eighteen, dark red hair rolled down her shoulders as black onyx eyes searched the lands surrounding her. There was something shockingly familiar about her but he had little time to ponder. "I can take care of them." Prepared to end this stupid war once and for all. Feeling a firm hand on his shoulder he turned. "It's not that simple my friend. These warriors have been trained to kill, to kill only you. I'd hate for you to die foolishly, you are too good a friend." Gabriel's concern touched Christian but he had no time for sentiments. "I understand, believe me I will not be so reckless as to leave my son without a father and my mate without her male." Julian scoffed at his son's bravado feigned or true he was walking to death. "More than hatred drives Vincent de Groudané. Revenge is a bitter demon in his heart." "For loving Jess?" "For killing his son. Jessica's father." Christian balked, his brow furrowed, could it be possible? Could he have killed them? He tried his best to banish the faces of those he killed, too many nightmares plagued his dreams. "What?" Was the only response he could think of. "Yes, Christoph and Nicole remember?" Christian felt his heart clench. How could he forget, they had been the closest friends he had ever had but in the end like everyone else they had betrayed him and now he had betrayed Jess. "I need to see her." He whispered blindly fumbling for the door handle. "No, Jessica left you here to save you, don't let it all be for nothing." "She could have told me before, we could have run." His words sounded desperate even to his own ears. Jessica hadn't told him because she couldn't betray her grandfather, yet she loved him enough to give him a chance. "Fine, I suppose you have a plan lets have it. My son has been to long been gone from my arms and my mate from my lips." ... Jessica rocked Raphael in a vain attempt to get him to sleep, but the only person who could settle him was his father. Had she done the right thing? She no longer doubted Christian's motive for killing her parents, to know that they had betrayed him and attempted to kill him upon learning his identity made her feel sick. Most of his life Christian had been alone, now he had her and Rafe, she would never take that away for him, it would devastate him. "Jess I brought you some food." Diane and Mary stood in the doorway, a plate of steaming meat and vegetables lat swimming in a lake of gravy and blood. Handing Raphael to Mary she began to devour the food her mind once again set. "You are going to join him." Jessica looked up into Diane's blood red eyes. Her mother had the uncanny power of perception. "Go to him Jess, let him know he has your love and loyalty or forever wish you had." Jessica didn't need to be told twice. Placing a motherly kiss on her sons head she quickly hugged her two mothers. "I will bring him back." Then she was gone. ... Christian breathed weakly, his ribcage had been crushed and one rib pierced his lung making it hard to move and breathe to top it off Vincent's soldiers were relentless. Blasting a fast approaching wolf into air he ran into the throng of lycans. "Julian what's your ETA?" Simon said over the two way radio. "Behind you." Simon clapped Julian and his fellow fighters in the back. For a moment he had feared the werewolf prince had been waylaid. "We need to buy Christian enough time to get to Vlad." The others nodded in agreements. Christian had only just healed when his father and his men joined the fray, assured that they could handle everything he flew into the night sky ready to defeat his brother once and for all. All the while Vlad and his companion had been watching the battle stoically, even now as Christian approached them they remained collected. "It ends tonight brother." Christian said calling upon the powers bestowed upon him at birth. This time Vlad would not escape him. "You are right little brother, it does end tonight but before that allow me to introduce you to Siren, my daughter." The young woman beside him curtseyed before blowing Christina a kiss. She wore a simple silk tunic evidence that she was part of the Greek pantheon. "All my life I have been trained to fight you." She said her voice light and lilting, she was as beautiful as the Luna goddess but her soul was ugly and black. Christian could sense her power and he knew she would be a worthy adversary. Vlad threw back his head and laughed at the look of disbelief on his brothers face. now to exact his revenge. "Get him." Siren nodded flicking her hand upwards she raised Christian further into the air before slamming him down to the ground. The impact of his body hitting the earth left a crater surrounding him. Those fighting were thrown off their feet as a wave of energy emanated from Siren. Christian groaned as he pushed himself of the ground. Dust and soil flew from his body as he rose into the sky once again, his two hand balled into fists. Siren's attack had shown him how much power she had and if she was able to cause this much damage with the flick of her hand he feared the destruction she would bring. Ignoring the sting of air against the gash in his gut, Christina conjured a helix of fire which licked at Siren menacingly. The flames engulfed her and for a moment he was sure he had her, of course nothing was ever easy. ... Jessica reached the house in time to see two figures clashing in the sky like twin orbs of energy, they would collide then retreat then collide again. The fissure of magic they emitted tingled down her spine. "Who's winning?" She asked as she spotted Gabriel, the hunter was favouring his left leg and he had a long cut on his cheek. "Can't tell, but I would say Siren." "Who?" "The daughter of Artemis and Vlad. Yeah I was surprised too." He chuckled noticing her expression. Jessica continued watching the fighting figures. The woman and wolf in her wanted to help her husband but she couldn't fly, there was very little she could do. 'I understand your need to help me but you must leave, if they see you here there's no telling what they will do to you.' 'I'm your mate Christian if you fall, I fall with you.' Jessica could tell Christian was stunned by her words but on her way here she realised that her soul belonged to Christian if anything happened to him she didn't know if she could survive. 'If I can't help you up there, I'll help down here.' Shifting into a werewolf Jessica began to fight against her grandfather's warriors after all it was what she had been born to do. ... Christian struck Siren in the stomach sending her somersaulting through the air. Sweat dripped into his eyes, blood ran from his mouth. Each time he believed he had her, she escaped him. "I think Uncle Christian is getting tired." "Leave him, I want my words to be the last he ever hears." Vlad snarled grabbing Christian by the throat. Christian had no energy to fight him, Vlad's clawed nails bit into his flesh drawing blood. "All those times you were outed and hunted, those people were led by me, when I was imprisoned my minion did it for me." Christian gasped for breath as Vlad's hold tightened. Leaning closer he whispered into Christians ear. "Because of you my mother left me, left me with my crazy father. Because of you I am who I am. So I made it my mission to hurt you, I told Vincent about how you killed his son and I...I sent those wolves to kill your parents. Shame they couldn't stay dead. I shall enjoy eating their hearts, your mate's heart, your son's heart." Christian's eyes widened as Vlad released him. All those years without peace, having friends turn on him. Years without his parents, without his mother's loving touch and his father's protection. "Jess, Raphael." He whispered, he could see them in his mind, their chest ripped opened bleeding profusely as his brother stood over their bodies blood trickling from his mouth. He had failed them. The wolf within raged, the vampire snarled powers of old channelled through his body as he focused all his energy, anger and power at his enemies. "It ends here!" He yelled. ... Julian yanked his weapon from the wolf corpse just as lightening splinted the sky. Rain began to fall in harsh, painful shards, stinging his skin. A ball of flame plummeted from the air, hitting the ground with a large thud. Walking towards the body with his sword raised above his head, Julian wasn't prepared for what he saw. Siren lay on the unblinking as her body slowly disintegrated in the wind, glittering ash swirled before disappearing all together. "What on earth." Jessica looked at Julian expectantly, but he had no idea what was happening. An ear splitting cry erupted as Vlad met the same as his daughter. The battle was over. Christian landed softly to the ground an aura of gold radiated from his body as al his wounds healed. Jessica ran, ran into his arms her hands searching, feeling him needing to know he was ok. "It's over now." Vincent said standing beside Julian, the fight had finally left him and he could only feel happiness for his granddaughter. Christian continues to hold Jessica as the sun rose. For the first time he felt safe, loved and free. "What of Artemis?" Jessica asked as they walked back towards their home. Looking up into the retreating darkness Christian felt a brief link with the goddess. "She sends us these things to test us. I think we've passed." ... Epilogue. ......... "Are you ok mom?" Jessica smiled at her thirteen year old son as he handed her a glass of lemonade. His dark blonde hair shone beneath the fairy lights that decorated the marquee. "I'm fine Christoph." Catching a glimpse of the bride and groom dancing Jessica burst into tears. A red eyed Maria hugged her friend also feeling the same, sad jubilation. Christian and Gabriel had no idea what to do, as much as their wives claimed they were fine, they were constantly in tears. "It's a woman thing." Christoph supplied. Electra, Christians eighteen year old daughter rolled her eyes in despair. "Men, you're all so dense." She huffed, handing Maya, her four year old sister, to their father. "I have to agree." Diane said, applauding Electra's outfit. The young woman wore a black corseted dress that swept the floor, auburn hair similar to her mothers curled down to her hips,. Her pale skin gleamed in the moonlight. Red eyes flashed with affection as she hugged her grandmother. "A vampiress in the making." "Yes definitely, you must come by the palace again." Diane smiled up at her father clutching his hand as Philippe laughed beside him, relations between the lycans and vampires had strengthened these past twenty five years. "Sorry to interrupt, but could someone please tell me why my mate is in tears?" "Because your eldest son has just gotten married, therefore living an independent life from his mother." Diane explained stunned that her son could be so stupid. "Oh." Christian and Gabriel said collectively, both men went to pull their very pregnant wives into their arms cooing reassuringly. ... Just before the sun rose Christian and Jessica saw their son and bride off to start their new lives. "Look after him Sarah." Jessica whispered kissing her daughter on the cheek. "Don't worry I will." Sarah said hugging Raphael's arm tightly to her bosom. "One down four to go." Christian joked as their car drove down the lane, Maya sleeping in his arms. Christian was the only one who could ever get their children to sleep. "Don't count on it, Electra is ever the radical feminist, whilst Christoph thinks girls are icky. Maya is your princess so you won't ever let her out of your sight. God knows what trouble these two will be." She said rubbing her stomach. Christian laughed in agreement, pulling Jessica into his loving embrace. "As long as you stay by my side I'll be happy." He said against her mouth. Nipping his lip playfully she kissed him. "I'm not going anywhere." THE END ........................................ Huzzah, it's finished. As my friend kindly reminded me, I have been writing these story for almost two years. So as I nurse my bruised wrist and fingers, I hope you enjoyed the story. All comments welcome.
