This republic existed peacefully for centuries, with no major conflicts other than the occasional pirate skirmishes in the fringes of the galaxy. At the center of this great empire was a great capital world known as Zyloth. It was a center of commerce, technology, and innovation. It is here on this planet that our story begins... Ryna Harcourt was an 18 year old Diuwel. He was tall, standing at around 6'8", with a lean muscular body, like that of a well-trained athlete, and the slightly tanned complexion to match. He looked exactly the same as a tall human male, with two distinct differences. He had two 1" horns protruding from his forehead, that just barely passed through his spiky snow-white hair. His hair surrounded his horns, falling to form a white curtain across his forehead. He stood in a dingy corridor, dressed in the telltale uniform of a army recruit, except for the black trench coat he wore over the top. He spotted the sign he was looking for–the exit. Soon he was on a taxi headed for his apartment near the spaceport. He arrived within 5 minutes, and let himself into his old-style apartment. He changed out of his recruit's outfit, and into a more comfortable t-shirt and pair of tracksuit pants. Sitting in a chair in the small living room of his apartment, he reflected on the last week. He had flown, or whatever it is called when you travel through space, to some backwater planet for an interview and test to get into the Vanguard Experiment, an elite military branch. He didn't think he had done well with the interview because the interviewer had been a beautiful human girl about his age. She had had long, straight brown hair, beautiful grey-green eyes, and perfect looking 36A breasts. That was all he could see above the interviewing table, but if the top was anything to work off of, he was sure that her lower half was just as beautiful. It wasn't a surprise that he had had trouble concentrating on the interview. While he was thinking of the mysterious woman, he began to unconsciously stroke his cock through the fabric of his tracksuit pants. Soon he had a raging boner. As he began to pull down his pants so he could alleviate the pressure, the doorbell rang. "Damn it!" he thought as he stood up and pulled his pants back up. He went to the door, and pulled it open, "Hello, may I help you?" he said sarcastically, not really paying attention to the person at the door. "I think that you can, Mr. Harcourt." a feminine voice said. Ryna looked at her, and immediately felt like an idiot. It was the girl from the interview. She was dressed in a casual shirt that hung off one shoulder, revealing a lacy bra strap, and shorts that ended right as her thighs began. "Uh, uh, uh, w-would-d y-you l-l-like to c-come in?" Ryna stuttered, suddenly embarrassed. He pivoted on one foot to the side of the entryway, and swept his hand toward the interior of his apartment. She entered, walking with a womanly swagger that shifted her hips very sexily. She sat on the couch, and patted next to her, signaling Ryna to come sit next to her. Ryna closed the door, and stood where he was for a couple seconds, trying to recollect his sense of what was going on. He got to the part where she had actually entered his house when he heard her talk again. "What are you waiting for, I won't bite." she said flirtily. "Um, sorry... Would you like something to drink?" Ryna asked, remembering his manners. "No thank you, I'll have something to drink soon anyway." She said, crossing her arms. "Geez, if you make me wait much longer, I'll think you don't like me." Ryna quickly took the seat she had offered him next to her, and tried his best not to stare into the cleavage her shirt revealed. She put her hand on his leg, and turned to face him. " I think its about time we got down to business." She whispered, blushing. She slid her hand over his cloth-covered hard-on. "Woah, woah, woah, wait a minute. You haven't even told me your name!" Ryna exclaimed, grabbing her hand. "What! Oh crap, I can't believe I forgot! My name is Sensara. I am the student body president at the Vanguard Experiment Academy, and your partner. I'm sorry, I just forgot." She muttered, blushing fiercely. Ryna sat there, shocked. Not only had he been accepted, his partner was the Student Body President. "Wait a minute, partners aren't assigned. Not to be rude or anything, but why are you here?" Ryna asked, deeply confused by the situation. "Well, I kinda, sorta, accidentally fell in love with you at the interview. I was impressed by your attempts to work through the discomfort and still try to complete your interview. Other guys openly asked if they could fuck me. I wasn't really in love until I saw you during the physical trial. I saw you spare the animal, and incapacitate the convicts without causing any permanent harm to anything. I thought, 'He is determined, compassionate, and skilled, I want him to be with me,' and here I am." She smiled weakly. Ryna gaped disbelievingly. "There is no way a beautiful girl like you could possibly like me. Impossible, call out your hidden cameras." Ryna said, drawing a sad look from Sensara. Instead of a response, she pushed him down against the arm of the sofa. She crawled up him until her face was inches from his. Then she planted a kiss on his lips. At first she was gentle, caressing his lips softly, but she quickly progressed to a much rougher french kiss. She wrapped her tongue around his, and explored his mouth. After Ryna got over the shock of being kissed, he wrapped his arms around her back. She paused for a second, lifting up her head. "Believe me now?" She said, eyes gleaming like little pools of lust. He nodded, prompting her to resume kissing, then worked her way down his body, removing both of their clothing as she went. By the time she removed his boxers, his 7-inch cock was harder that he had ever felt before. She took the tip between her lips, and rolled her tongue over it. She lowered her head down and took the first couple of inches into her mouth. This evoked a low groan from Ryna. Sensara started to bob her head furiously on his throbbing cock. Ryna, seeing her hand drift between her legs, tapped her ribs, motioning for her to swing her pussy over his face. Sensara complied happily, placing her dripping pussy directly over his mouth. He flicked his tongue over her swollen clit, causing her to moan in pleasure. He swirled his tongue around her wet lips before he plunged his tongue directly into her pussy. Her moans slowly evolved into full-blown screams of pleasure, all muffled by the dick she was sucking on. Ryna felt his balls contract, and he sent streams of hot seed down her throat, which she eagerly swallowed. He took a final thrust into her with his tongue, which was the final step onto her own sexual plateau, causing her back to arch and screams of pleasure to echo in in the small apartment. Sensara collapsed onto Ryna's chest, still shuddering from her orgasm. She looked up into his eyes drowsily. "I think that I'm gonna stay the night tonight, if that's alright with you." She said, attention fading slightly. Ryna picked her up and carried her to his bedroom. After he had tucked her under the sheets, he gave her a soft kiss on the cheek, and went out to sleep on the couch for the night. The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 02A The next morning, Ryna was awakened by a light weight on his chest. His eyes snapped open, searching for the source of the weight in the dark. His eyes settled on a familiar feminine figure, sitting on his stomach. "Good morning!" Sensara said, beaming down at him. She was sitting upright in the space between his stomach and the back panel of the beat-up old couch, with her legs draped lightly over his stomach. Also, he noticed, she was dressed in comfortable clothing that clung tightly to her curves. "Good morning. Going somewhere?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her choice of clothing. "We have a flight to Ulodny for the coming training semester with at Van-cademy,"she said, standing up. She tugged on his arm until he stood, then dragged him into his bedroom. "Get packed, we need to be at the spaceport in 2 hours." Ryna packed all of his earthly belongings into two bags in about 20 minutes. He wrote a note explaining the situation and left it under the landlady's door, along with the next three months rent. As soon as they exited the front door, a black hover limo pulled up in front of the building. Normally, Ryna would have stopped and stared for a while, thinking "Why is there a limo in this poor-ass neighborhood?" However, before he could begin to stare, Sensara pulled his arm to her chest and lead them to the limo door. "I take it that this is our ride to the Spaceport," Ryna said, opening the door so Sensara could get in. "You are correct. You catch on pretty quick, huh?" She said, winking as she ducked into the vehicle. He followed her into the limo, and settled into the comfortable seat and throwing his bags into the seats lining the wall. Sensara was leaning forward, hitting a button that darkened the windows and the screen between the driver and the passenger compartment. That gave Ryna a glimpse of the black lace panties she wore underneath her skirt. She pulled away from the panel as the limo took off, racing toward the Spaceport, and sat in his lap, biting her lip, deciding whether or not to say something. Ryna looked down at her, then poked her stomach, making her giggle. "What's up? You look like you need to say something," Ryna asked, putting his arm around her waist. "I was just wondering if it was really alright for me to have such a wonderful and caring guy?" She said, looking at him innocently. He raised an eyebrow disbelievingly. "Alright, alright, I was really wondering why you just decided to go with me to Van-cademy." "Because I applied, and you told me I got in. So I'm going with you to train; besides, all male trainees have to have a female partner by the second semester, right? So not only did I get into the school I wanted, and get a beautiful girlfriend, I got ahead of the rest of the crowd," he explained. "I'm not just a pretty face, I have super smarts as well," she said, smiling flirtily. "Uh-huh, whatever you say pretty lady." Ryna murmured, pulling her into a kiss. Their tongues intertwined briefly before the limo came to a halt. They separated and exited the limo. Ryna followed her through the Space Port, lugging his bags through the winding hallways. They arrived at a door marked "Liuna Corporation Private Hangar", where she typed a password into the keypad on the wall next to the door. The door slid open with a whooshing sound, revealing a large circular room with blast doors on the opposite wall. Lights that rimmed a circle inset in the ceiling turned on, illuminating the chamber, and revealing a small silver spaceship in the center. It looked like a chrome rocket, laid on its side, with a cockpit molded into the top of the fuselage. Sensara walked up to the back of the ship, and pressed her finger to a section of the hull. It glowed green, and a ramp dropped down from the spot she had pressed. Ryna stared in amazement at the beauty of the craft, and the location it was in. "Sensara, stealing spacecraft is not an entirely legal practice." Ryna said, still taking in the situation. "What are you talking about darling, this is my ship. Daddy bought it for me to use last year," she said, walking back to Ryna. She got behind him and pushed him toward the ramp. he fully regained his senses as they reached the middle of the ramp. He walked up the rest of the ramp by himself, made it past the hallway, still shell-shocked, then plopped down in the closest chair he found in the cockpit. Sensara followed behind him and sat in the pilot's chair. "So you are the daughter of one of the Liuna Corporation's top executives?" Ryna asked, eyes unfocused. "No silly, I am the daughter of the company president, and the founder's granddaughter. My name is Sensara Liuna," she responded, pressing buttons on the panel in front of her, preparing for take-off. "Oh ok, just the daughter of the pres–You're the president's daughter!? That is a really important piece of information. Why didn't you tell me before now?" he asked, regaining some composure. "Because most guys seem intimidated by that, they always say, 'If I do anything, your father will kill me'. That is why I became sexually involved with you before I said anything. I'm sorry, I just love you so much that I don't want my identity to interfere with our relationship." She replied, sinking into the pilot's chair to avoid his glare. "Why would you fall in love with me if you thought I would walk out if anything got bad. I'm not that type of guy." Ryna said, looking rather hurt. "I just... I wasn't sure. I didn't think you were that type of guy, but I didn't know. But... you really aren't angry about my family?" Sensara asked, inching back up the seat, hope filling her eyes. "Not particularly, no. I'm happy you decided to be honest eventually though." Ryna said, closing his eyes and leaning back in his chair. "There aren't any other 'surprises' for me, are there?" "Well, we are partners and all, but you may still need to take the combat readiness test when we arrive." Sensara said, looking visibly brighter and happy. "Combat readiness test?" Ryna asked, a curious look crossing his face. "Yeah, it's a test the school gives to all new trainees on their first day. Basically, all you have to do is make your way through the course set up for the test, and complete whatever mission they give you. It is supposed to test your resolve, ability to follow orders, and skills. Don't worry though, I know you'll pass." Sensara explained. She hit a button on the command console, and the stars in the ship's viewport turned into white lines, and the ship shuddered slightly as it hit warp speed, racing toward Ulodny. The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 03A Ryna lingered in the cockpit for only a couple minutes after his argument with Sensara. He wandered into the ship's small bedroom, and laid down on the bed. He pretended to be asleep when Sensara entered about 15 minutes later. "Ryna, are you awake?" she asked, laying down beside him. He didn't say anything, making her think he was asleep. She snuggled up on his back, and fell asleep. _____________________________ They were both awakened four hours later when an alarm sounded, telling them that they were exiting hyperspace, and entering the orbit of Ulodny. They both got up and entered the cockpit for the descent to the surface. "I'm sorry for earlier," Ryna said, breaking the silence. "There isn't anything for you to be sorry about, it was my fault for not telling you sooner," Sensara said, seeming relieved. They had already entered the atmosphere, and were rapidly descending to a growing urban sprawl. Once the ship was at the preferred altitude, Sensara turned toward the very center of the city. She swerved left, then banked right, weaving through the skyscrapers until she arrived at a huge campus on top of a skyscraper. They landed at one of the outlying platforms, where several people rushed out to hook up fuel lines and collect luggage from the compartments set into the hull. Two small hovercraft pulled up to the platform, marked as "Dorms" and "Test". "Good luck on your test!" Sensara said, looking up into Ryna's eyes. He put his arms around her waist and pulled her close to his body. "Pssh, I don't need luck, I'm gonna ace that test so badly it ain't even funny." Ryna said, smiling broadly. "You're dreaming! That test is impossible to ace. Even if you do, they will find something you did wrong and deduct points. Seriously though, try not to get hurt, I have a lot planned for you in the week before classes start." Sensara said, eyeing him mischievously. "Ooh, that sounds like fun, I'm looking forward to it." "You better be. I'll come see you at the end room after you ace that test," she said. "See ya later." Ryna said. He leaned down and kissed her softly on the cheek, then let her go and boarded the vehicle marked "Test". He had barely sat down inside of it before the craft was in motion, whisking over the campus at an absurd speed. "So city-boy, you caught the eye of the President, did you?" the driver asked, turning to face Ryna. he was a dark-skinned being with several dreadlocks of brown hair pulled back behind his head by a hairband. His cream-colored eyes beamed out at Ryna, complemented by a huge smile. "Haha, yeah, I guess I did–shouldn't you be watching where we're going? You know, so we don't die?!" Ryna exclaimed, pointing to the front of the hovercraft. "No way mon, this here hovercraft is equipped with the highest grade autopilot around. Anyway, she is quite the looker, huh," the driver said, scratching his chin. "Haha, very much so! I'm Ryna Harcourt, by the way," Ryna said, extending his hand out. "Nice to meet you mistah Ryna, I am Quali Tambani, I'm a Rafae, mon. I'm a second year here at Van-cademy," Quali said, shaking Ryna's hand firmly. The hovercraft's speed decreased slightly as it turned around a corner. An enormous dome came into view several hundred feet from the hovercraft. Quali turned around and switched the hovercraft back to manual, then brought it to a screeching halt 10 feet from the doors of the dome. "See ya round Ryna, and nice to meet ya!" Quali said, waving, "Oh yeah, one last thing. Never judge a book by its cover here at Van-cademy." "Uh... Thanks, I guess. Bye Quali," Ryna said, turning to face the dome. It was immense, standing around 100 feet tall, and with a diameter of what must have been about 1.5 miles or more. He stood staring for several minutes before a bump against his back brought him back to reality. "You just gonna stand there, or go in?" a girl said, looking up into Ryna's eyes. She was medium height for a human female. She was a light tan color, with bright blue eyes and an easy smile. Her loose-fitting shirt made it hard to judge her exact size, but Ryna was sure they were smaller than Sensara's. "Hmm...Oh, sorry, I was just admiring the architecture. Are you taking the test too ms...?" Ryna asked, pointing to the doors. "Laura, nope, girls take a different test." Laura said, smiling up at him. "Alright then Laura, I should really get going, good luck on your test!" Ryna exclaimed, turning to face the large double-doors that were the entrance to the dome. "Wait a minute Ryna, the tests for boys and girls are administered at the same place, so we can go together. Although, I already took mine, so I guess I can cheer you on in yours," she said, looping her arm around his. They walked through the doors and followed a series of signs to a room designated as the administration room. On the way there, Ryna learned that Laura was the same age as he was, and was the second highest scoring participant in the girls test with a score of 995\1000. She also mentioned that she was single several times. When they reached the test administration room, she released his arm. "Non-participants aren't allowed into the actual test room right now, so I'll wait for you at the end room." Laura said, walking back down the hallway they had just come from. Ryna entered the room and took a seat near the back of the theater-like room. The entire room was filled with guys around Ryna's age of all species. Only a few minutes later, an old man walked onto the stage at the center. "Congratulations to all those assembled here for making it past the preliminary selection. As this school's headmaster, I, Iures Liuna, regret to inform you that you still have one more trial to overcome in order to gain full acceptance into Vanguard Academy. That test–the Combat Readiness Test–is a simple test. All that you have to do is complete the assignment given to you on your Personal Unit. Of course, it wouldn't really be a test if there was no opposition. Behind the doors situated to my right, there is a jungle-like labyrinth, filled with convicts who have been told that for every one of you they kill, a year of their sentence will be deducted. They aren't going easy, so neither should you. For those of you that are wondering, teamwork is allowed to complete the missions, and a map to the objective has been provided on your Personal Unit. This test is graded on a multitude of factors, and a passing grade is above 650. There is no limit on how many of you can gain acceptance, so feel free to remain in the maze for as long as you want–although there is a 100 point deduction for those who remain for longer than 48 hours. Lastly, the weapons you proved to be most proficient at using during the preliminaries have been placed on racks in the walls. They have your names on them, and are arranged alphabetically. Good luck, I hope to see many of your faces in the next semester," the old man explained. Because Ryna was at the back of the room, he had to wait a while for the room to clear before he could get to the weapons assigned to him. He was curious about what weapon he had been assigned, because he had been fairly good at using almost every weapon they had given him during the Preliminary Testing. It turned out to be a pair of black swords, with an intricate red swirl where the guard should have been. "Those are from my own personal collection, Mr. Harcourt," The old man, Iures, said, suddenly standing next to Ryna. "They are beautiful. A single stained-black iridium blade would be a piece of art. A matching pair is a masterpiece. I am honored, gramps." Ryna said, admiring the blades. "Well, Sensara said you would like them, I guess she was right," Iures said, crossing his arms, satisfied. "Sensara said that? I don't remember ever mentioning anything about swords to her," Ryna said, looking slightly confused. "She is a rather special person. She notices things other people would never see, and she is able to put them together to see many aspects of the person. Which is why I am okay with you dating my granddaughter. If she thinks that you are worthy of her affections, then I just have to accept it," Iures said, looking resigned. "Seriously, that is awesome! Wait a minute, you are her grandfather?!" Ryna exclaimed, "Please forgive my rudeness! I'm Ryna Harcourt." "Relax kiddo, I'm not a strict kind of person. But if you should ever hurt her in any way, I will end you personally," Iures said, growing exponentially more menacing. The very air around him seemed to chill as his aura turned threatening. Ryna was forced to take a step back just from the killing intent exerted by the man. "Alright, well, good luck, future-grandson," Iures said, smiling, his aura returning to normal, and the pressure decreasing dramatically. Ryna just smiled back. He strapped the swords to his back, then strolled through the doors into the test room. The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 04A It was an immense room, currently occupied by a huge jungle. Trees sprouted up over 100 feet, and the paths on the ground were crowded with roots and vines from the plants on either sides. Ryna whistled, impressed, as he pulled out his Personal Unit to see what his assigned task was. The Personal Unit, revealed that his task was simply to go to various spots in the maze and mark that he had been there. Easy enough, Ryna thought, jumping. His foot found purchase on the trunk of a nearby tree, propelling him up and away. He flew off of several more trunks before he flew over the canopy. He put his arm above him and–employing a Diuwel racial ability–grabbed the air. It held him up, and he surveyed the maze. He spotted his first objective–400 yards to the right of his location, under a large glass box protruding from the wall. Ryna unclasped his hand, and stood on the air underneath him. He sprinted toward the objective, gradually descending. He was within 15 feet objective when a bullet flew past, grazing his cheek. Ryna spiraled away, and landed on the glass of the observation box. He jumped down the remaining 10 feet to the ground, and waited behind the row of bushes surrounding the objective, which he saw was a big target. A man emerged across the clearing, dressed entirely in black. "I just hate it when I kill my targets before they realize I've seen them. I prefer to play with them a little more, it is just more fun that way. You may as well come out now," The man said pointing the barrel of a rifle toward the bush on the right of Ryna. Ryna rolled to the right just before the man switched his aim and shot the bush Ryna had been behind not moments before. Again and again, Ryna rolled just before the man shot where he had been. Growing desperate, Ryna threw a rock across the clearing. The man followed it, giving Ryna the time he needed to charge out from the bush. The man tried to bring the barrel of his rifle back down on Ryna, but he spun around the blow. Midspin, he drew one of the twin swords and brought it down in a wide slash across the man's body. The man reacted too late, allowing the sword to slice through his clavicle and into his lungs, then heart. He dropped, dead before he hit the ground. Ryna withdrew the sword from the dead man, then wiped the blood off of it. He approached the target in the center of the clearing, then carved his name into it. Just to be certain, he snapped a photo of it with his Personal Unit. "Whoo! First one down, no sweat," Ryna said to himself sarcastically. The second objective was located in the very center of the jungle-maze. He repeated his ascent to the ceiling, then attempted to spot his next objective. He spotted a suspicious-looking dip in the canopy several hundred yards away. Before he could take even a single step towards the clearing, two green bolts whizzed past his leg from behind him. Immediately he was 20 meters away, and facing the threat. A small craft with wings located behind a standing cockpit, and deadly laser cannons underneath the cockpit. The windows of the cockpit were tinted black, so Ryna couldn't see the occupant. The craft sped toward him, firing several more blasts along the way. Ryna easily sidestepped the blasts and the vehicle, and sprinted after it. As it was turning around for another pass, he latched onto the wing and pulled. Hard. The flimsy wing separated from flying machine easily, and it spiralled into the ground, where it landed with a dull thud. "Well, that was rather anticlimacti–" Ryna said as the machine exploded on the jungle floor, "Nevermind..." He finished the short trip to the clearing–and second objective–easily. After carving his name into it–and noting the lack of other names–he took to the sky above the labyrinth for a final time, and found what he thought was the third objective. Racing toward it, he saw the signs of several fights along the paths on the ground. They all stopped about 20 meters from the wall, right at the edge of clearing. At this point, Ryna was a little tired of being shot at, so he descended to the canopy level, at the edge of the clearing. Immediately, he saw the reason for both the clearing and the fighting. Guarding the exit was a huge mech, toting 2 machine guns for arms, and missile-launchers for shoulders. Ryna stared dumbfounded. "Now how the fuck am I supposed to get past that?! I seriously get the feeling that Gramps doesn't want somebody to pass this goddamn test." Ryna's thoughts were interrupted by a rock that hit his foot. He scanned the underbrush for its source when he spotted two idiotic-looking men lying near the edge of the clearing, waving at him. "Writer, I swear to god, if those are supposed to be my friends for this series, I will kick your ass," he thought as one of the men stood up, revealing himself to the mech, to make sure Ryna had seen him. Ryna practically flew down to the ground, grabbing the man's head and shoving it down just as a large bullet whizzed through the space the man had just occupied. "Thanks buddy! I owe ya one, now how are we gonna get past them there mech?" the man asked, looking through a bush at the mach. "First off, I am not your 'buddy'. Second off, I have no clue as to how you two will get past it. Third off, I will not save your ass again if you continue to put your head in the way of that thing's bullets. Got it?" Ryna asked, staring very sternly at the idiot in front of him. "Uh, yeah, sure. I'm Smokes, a Brur, by the way," Smokes said, extending his hand. Ryna shook it grudgingly. "I'm Ryna, a Diuwel. Wait a minute, if you are a Brur, why aren't you gone? You could easily outrun the targeting lasers on that mech," Ryna asked, bewildered. "I haven't left cuz' that guy behind me has a bullet stuck in his leg, and he can't move so well," Smokes said, pointing to the man behind him. "I'm... Raas Arian... a Quali. I, uh, sorta... got hit... trying to go... between his... legs... not such... a great idea... in retrospect," Raas gritted through clenched teeth. At closer inspection, Ryna noticed that Raas had already had first aid applied to the spot his thigh had been hit. "This guy looks like he might actually be pretty intelligent," Ryna thought. "Alright, here is the plan. Smokes, you are going to take Raas to the door, while I distract the huge-ass mech that will be trying to kill us all. Any questions?" Ryna said, arms crossed and smiling. "Just one... Are you CRAZY?!" Raas exclaimed, his palm on his face (like a facepalm). "Shh, not so loud! The mech could have sound-detection systems! And yes, it is quite possible I am slightly crazy, that's why I'm still here with you two. See ya later fellas," Ryna said, shooting into the clearing. Almost immediately the mech turned and began firing at him. Managing to keep just ahead of the mech's line of fire, he slowly worked the mech away from the doorway, and toward the jungle. At some point, he saw Smokes make a run for the door carrying Raas. They had made it within 10 feet before the mech stopped firing on Rya and swivelled to face its new targets. "Shit!!" he thought. He sprinted straight at the mech, drawing a sword. He closed the gap quickly, making the mech swing its bulky arm out at him. "Perfect, dumbass!" he thought as he leapt up and over the mech's arm. During his descent, he lodged the sword he had drawn into the machine gun trained on his...acquaintances, milliseconds before it shot the first round. The bullet hit the sword lodged in the barrel and exploded, sending Ryna flying away. He hit the ground several meters away, dazed. He slowly worked his way to his feet, and toward the mech. Drawing the other sword, he rammed it into the mech's CPU. "I am just not having a good day..." he remarked, pulling out both of the swords he had lodged into the machine. He made his way to the doorway, where he was surprised to find that Smokes hadn't gone through it yet. "You waitin' on a written invitation, Smokes?" Ryna asked sarcastically. He pushed the only button on the doorway, causing it to slide open and reveal a room filled with girls. "No bu–Holy shit bro, that room is filled with girls!!" Smokes exclaimed, his jaw a couple inches off the ground. "No way, really?! I didn't notice." Ryna responded, rolling his eyes. Raas chuckled slightly, but Smokes ignored him, concentrating on the girls now shifting awkwardly under his stare. Ryna simply grabbed Raas, and took off through the room, looking for a school official. He spotted two standing near the door on the other side of the room. Ryna soon discovered that pushing through a crowd of girls with an injured man on your shoulder was easier said than done. Especially if you are two very attractive guys. He eventually had to resort to jumping up and walking over through the air. "This guy needs medical attention, please see to it that he receives it soon," Ryna told the two staff members once he got close enough. He set Raas down on an open table, and started down the hallway. "Hey dude, be careful! I heard there were two really rich chicks fighting over something down there in the waiting room. Got pretty nasty supposedly," one of the staff members called down to Ryna. "Thanks man, I'll keep that in mind. See ya," Ryna called back, wondering who the two girls were. He entered the waiting room after a short trip down a loooong hallway. He saw Sensara straight away, standing a little ways away, looking at a monitor with her back to him. He snuck up on her, waiting until he was standing right behind her before he covered her eyes. "Ah! Who are you?! Stop it," she said, startled. Ryna released her quickly, not wanting to upset her. She turned and immediately recognized him, "Oh, it's you! I thought for a second that you were some random pervert." "No way, I'm your pervert!" Ryna exclaimed, laughing. He wrapped his arms around her waist. "It isn't funny! I'm supposed to be mad at you!" Sensara said, her cheeks flushed. She pushed herself out of his arms. "Wait a minute, I thought we got past the whole 'surprise' problem??" Ryna asked, looking genuinely confused. "We did, but now we have a new problem," Sensara said, dragging him across the room. they stopped near the opposite wall. Sensara pointed forward, "That... is our new problem Ryna," Sensara said, looking very upset. He followed her line of sight, and saw the back of Laura's head. "Hey Laura! I didn't know you were here, come here for a second!" Ryna exclaimed, making the blonde jump a little bit due to surprise. She turned around looking very happy, but her enthusiasm faded almost immediately after she saw Sensara. "Why hello Ryna. I didn't know you kept such... trashy... company," Laura said, making a point to avoid the hateful glare Sensara was giving her. "What are you talking about, this is my girlfriend Sensara. Sensara, this is my friend Laura! I think you two will get along really well," Ryna declared, oblivious to the obvious disdain the girls held for each other. "I'm sure. Well congratulations on passing your test, Ryna, but I really must get going. If you ever get bored of that boring old hag, you come and tell me, okay?" Laura said, turning and leaving. "Well, that was odd, she seemed much more sociable before..." Ryna muttered to himself perplexedly. "Ryna, we are leaving NOW!" Sensara exclaimed dragging him to the exit. The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 05A "Hey Sensara! Wait a minute!" Ryna exclaimed as Sensara dragged him towards the exit of the building. She simply ignored him and pulled him further. They were close to the exit when she seemed to change her mind, pulling him into an open office and shut the door. "Huh? I thought you were hell-bent on leaving," Ryna asked, so confused it wasn't even funny. Sensara pressed in against his body, and put her arms around his neck. Taking the cue, Ryna kissed her, slowly at first, and was pleasantly surprised when she slid her tongue into his mouth. She slowly pushed him back until he was up against a couch at the far end of the room. She broke the kiss, then pushed him down onto the couch. "I need you now!" Sensara pleaded, pulling her shirt off. She wasn't wearing a bra underneath, allowing Ryna to see her milky globes. She kneeled down on either side of his legs, and pulled his head into her breasts. Ryna sucked on her nipple, drawing a loud moan from Sensara. she released his head slightly as the pleasure dulled her senses slightly. "I see these are rather sensitive," Ryna said, smirking slightly before she pulled his head back into her boobs. His arms explored her backside, softly stroking her spine and lower back--all eliciting more moans from Sensara. "Mmmm... That feels so good! But I need it somewhere else now," Sensara cooed, standing on the couch. She unzipped her pants, and let them fall down onto his lap, then sexily dropped her panties as well. Ryna leaned forward and locked his arms together behind her ass, and pulled back. She fell forward slightly, until her knees found the back of the couch, leaving her in a crouching position over Ryna. He leaned in again, and licked her exposed pussy. His tongue wandered up her puffy lips until it found its target--her swollen clit. He flicked it several times, making Sensara moan loudly. Then he plunged his tongue into her pussy directly, almost making her scream. One of her hands found the back of his head and pulled it deeper into her pussy, while the other was massaging her tits. She was very aroused now, and her juices were flowing freely into Ryna's mouth, a taste he decided he thoroughly enjoyed. He lapped up the juices, then entered her tight slit with his tongue. Sensara was barely able to stifle her scream as she grinded her pussy against his mouth. Ryna worked a finger in past his tongue, slowly inserting and removing it. Sensara bucked upward, arching her back as mini-orgasms wracked her body. After she had recovered, she decided to return the favor. She stepped down from the couch and kneeled in between his legs, tugging at his pants. He helped her remove them quickly, revealing his 7-inch cock, and then threw off his shirt. She took his cock in her hands, and lightly kissed the tip, sending shivers up his spine. Slowly, she lowered her mouth down onto his cock, using her tongue to massage the tip even after the first inch or so was in her mouth. She began to bob her head rapidly up the length of his throbbing cock. After several minutes, he was close to coming. "Ah, Sensara, that feels so good! I'm gonna cum soon!" Ryna exclaimed, grasping the couch. She immediately stopped, and pulled her mouth off of his cock. "No way am I going to let you cum so soon Ryna," she said teasingly. She crawled up his body, positioning her slit just above his manhood. Locking her arms behind his shoulders, she lowered herself onto his penis. After a small length, Ryna felt an obstruction inside her vagina. Before he could react, she shoved downward, taking the rest of his cock into her pussy. A small trickle of blood leaked from her vagina and onto his leg. "Sensara, you shouldn't force yourself on your first time," Ryna said, brushing away the tear that fell down her cheek. "No! I want this! just give me a second to get used to its size," She asked, laying on him. Ryna picked her up and laid her on the couch, then leaned down into a kiss. After a little more than 30 seconds, she broke the kiss and nodded. Slowly, he pulled his member out of her, then thrust back in. He kept a slower pace at first, seeing the minor contortions of pain in her face. When those disappeared, he took it as a sign to speed up. "Mmmmm... yeah, just like that! That feels so good Ryna," Sensara moaned, spreading her legs out and recrossing them behind his back. Ryna continued like that for several minutes before Sensara's moans picked up in pitch and volume. "OOOOOH, that feels so goooood! I'M CUMMING!!" Sensara yelled as she orgasmed. Her body spasmed as though lightning had raced through her body. Ryna pulled out of her, and sat back on the couch. To his surprise, Sensara flipped around and began sucking him off again. "What are you doing Sensara?" Ryna asked, moaning at her touch. "Obviously... I am... making you... cum too!" Sensara explained in between bobs. Soon, she had him near orgasm again. "Aaah, I'm cumming!" Ryna exclaimed, putting his hands on the back of her head to prevent her from pulling up. He spurt several times into her mouth, which she swallowed down dutifully. He released his grip on her head halfway through, allowing her to lift off of his cock and get some of his thick semen on her face too. "Mmm... This tastes so good!" Sensara remarked as she wiped a stream onto her finger and into her mouth. She repeated the process several times, letting her finger linger in her mouth each time. "That was amazing Sensara," Ryna said as he pulled on his boxers. "Really! It was my first time, so I didn't know how I would do," Sensara replied, also starting to get dressed. "I feel so special to have taken your first time," Ryna said with mock drama as he pretended to wipe a tear from his eye. She smacked his shoulder, then leaned in against his chest. "There is no one I would rather have had my first time with than you," she stated, looking up into his eyes lovingly. "Of course not, I am rather amazing," Ryna joked, grinning. She rolled her eyes, then pulled his head down onto her lips for a quick kiss before she turned and finished getting dressed. "So, what made you decide to force yourself on poor little me?" Ryna asked teasingly as he pulled on his shirt. "I needed to remind you that you are mine, and only mine." Sensara replied imperiously, now fully clothed. "Hmmm, but those are the words I live by, why would I need to be reminded?" Ryna asked sarcastically, curious about the reason for the reminder. "Because I heard that you were keeping rather detestable... and female... company." Sensara explained, crossing her arms and looking accusatory. "Are you talking about Laura? Sure, she's pretty-" Ryna began. "So you admit to seeing another woman-" Sensara interrupted. "-But you are the only person I want to be with," Ryna finished. Sensara contemplated his words for a minute, then seemed to judge them satisfactory. "Fine, but I am still mad at you, for the record. Let's go back to the dorm for now," She said as she turned and opened the door. Ryna followed her out the exit and to the hovertaxi waiting to take them to the dorm. A couple minutes into the ride to the dormitories, the driver turned back to look at Ryna. "'Ello mon! I can't say I expected you to be done so soon," Quali exclaimed. "Hey Quali! Yeah, well, if I hadn't been almost killed a bunch of time, it would have been much faster. All I had to do was a stupid courier mission," Ryna lamented, clearly disappointed in himself. He looked up to see both of the other too in a state of shock. "Ryna, you had the courier mission?!" Sensara exclaimed, surprised. "Yeah, why?" Ryna asked, confused. "The courier mission is the hardest admissions test that can be administered here at Van-cademy, mon. It is only given once per admissions season. Congratulations, mon," Quali explained. "It is several times harder than any other test given, and completion warrants admission into the school no matter what the score was," Sensara explained further, "but I also received it when I was tested this year. I received a total of 997 of 1000, which is why I was selected as the Student Body President," "Hmmm, interesting, so when do I see my score?" Ryna asked, stroking his non-existent beard. "Why is that what you are worried about!? We need to go find Grampa and beat his ass for breaking the school's admissions rules! Quali, was it? Take us to the administrative building!" Sensara huffed. "Yes ma'am!" Quali exclaimed as he faced his autopilot system and entered the new destination. Within a couple minutes, Quali had dropped the couple off at the steps of an imposing glass pyramidal building. Looping her arm through Ryna's, she led them up the steps and into the building. As they entered the lobby, Ryna immediately noticed that the spacious, rectangular room had a single desk in the middle of the rear wall, and was flanked by two pairs of elevators. Black marble floors met bleached white pillars at the side walls, all of which was cast in a golden light by a grand chandelier hanging some 20 feet off the ground in the center of the room. Behind the receptionist's desk was a clear glass sheet with the school's emblem on it. As Ryna was taking in the sheer majesty of the room, Sensara had walked up to the receptionist and was seemingly engaged in an argument. Ryna walked up behind her and wrapped an arm around her stomach and put a finger to her lips, making Sensara melt into his embrace. "Shhhh Sensara! Stop harassing this poor woman. I'm sorry for her, but we were just looking to talk with Headmaster Iures," Ryna said. "As I told this young lady, Headmaster Iures is currently in a meeting, and cannot be disturbed. Please come back some other time," the receptionist responded, looking relieved that the argument had stopped. Ryna looked past the receptionist for a second, and noticed the reflection of her computer on the glass. Open on the screen was the headmaster's schedule for the day. Ryna quickly looked for the current time in the reflection. "Hmmm... well, I thought he told me to come see him during his break, but, if he is so busy that he has delayed his meeting with the Board by three hours, then there is nothing I can do," Ryna said, a slight smirk creeping over his face. "What!? How did you know that- I mean, yes, he belayed his meeting," the receptionist said as she scrambled to cover up her surprise. Ryna continued, pretending not to notice. "Oh well, some other time then. By the way, which direction is the men's bathroom?" Ryna asked, still holding a blissful Sensara. The receptionist pointed to the left. He released Sensara, then grabbed her hand and lead her toward the men's bathroom. As Ryna passed by the elevators on that side, he noticed that the elevator was on the top floor. He discretely pressed the call button on the one nearest to the bathroom, then carried on to the bathroom door. "Wait here, this is an operation of the utmost precision, so I need you to be ready to go when I come out of here," Ryna said, a teasing smile crossing his lips. "I'm supposed to be mad at you, you idiot. It is really hard to stay mad when you do stuff like that," Sensara said, blushing from being entranced so easily. She nodded to acknowledge Ryna. With that, he entered the bathroom and climbed up on the sink, then pressed his ear to the mirror. Listening carefully, he could just barely hear the elevator cables of the closest elevator. After listening carefully for a couple minutes, he heard the door open behind him. "Finally, I'm done for toda- What the eleventh Yuer are you doing, you Vermicious Knid!?" a short ball-like humanoid exclaimed. He was wearing a brown suit with a straight black tie, both of which miraculously fit over his orange spherical body. "I assume that is some sort of curse in Loompaland?" Ryna asked sarcastically. Through the mirror, he heard the elevator reach the ground floor, "Well, Mr. Deep Roy, it has been fun, however, I really must be going," Ryna joked as he jumped off the counter. Patting the small man's head, he sprinted out of the bathroom. "Hey! What are you doing Ryna?!" Sensara yelled as he picked her up off of the bench she was on, then continued sprinting to the elevator door. He jumped inside just as the doors began to close, much to the surprise and dismay of the receptionist. "Well, there's your excitement for the day," Ryna muttered, slumping against the wall. "You are so reckless! But thanks darling," Sensara whispered as she kissed him, forgetting her supposed anger at Ryna. She tried to slip her tongue into his mouth, but Ryna pushed her away from him. "This elevator might not be the best place to get into it," Ryna explained to a dejected looking Sensara. Immediately feeling bad, leaned up onto his knees. "Later. I promise," he whispered into her ear. Feeling her perk up slightly, he got up and pressed the button for the top floor. The rest of the elevator ride was silent, as Sensara tried to work herself back into a rage at her grandfather, and remembering her supposed anger at Ryna. "Oh well, it only lasted so long," Ryna thought as they reached the top floor. Sensara had managed to get herself quasi-angry, but Ryna's soothing presence was preventing a full-blown rage, despite her anger at him. The elevator door opened, revealing a lavish office with light pouring in from the windows. A large conference table dominated the space immediately in front of the elevators, however, after going past that room, Ryna discovered a small zen garden, a full bathroom, kitchen, and finally, a study. Scattered across the study's various tables were many books open to sections on Diuwels (Reference Chapter 1, Ryna's race). "Yo, Gramps, wassup!" Ryna called out. A small pile of books in the corner of the study rustled until Iures popped his head out. "Damn that receptionist, I specifically told her I didn't want to be disturbed by these two..." he muttered, "Well, what can I do for you two?" Iures asked innocently. "Don't even try to act innocent you damn old man!" Sensara yelled, as she stormed up to him. "Now, now, I haven't the slightest clue what you are talking about!" he exclaimed, still feigning innocence, and causing Sensara to grab his shirt from frustration. "How the hell can you sleep at night knowing that you cheated this school's academic foundations!" she exclaimed, shaking her grandfather. "I don't know, I haven't had a night to sleep on it yet," He exclaimed, growing dizzy. "Haven't had a night to sleep on what exactly, Grandfather." Sensara grinned, knowing she had caught him in his lie. "Um, well... you see... uh, nothing, really!" Iures floundered, earning a piercing glare from Sensara, "Fine, I'll admit it, I put security cameras up in the girl's locker room! There, you happy?" "You WHAT?!" Sensara seathed, "I wasn't here for that, but I am sure that the cops will be veeery interested to hear about that, you dirty old man!" "What! The cops?! You would turn in your poor old grandfather for such a menial offense? Well, putting that aside, why did you come here then?" Iures asked, hastily trying to change the conversation. "What I came here for was to ask you why you assigned Ryna the courier mission for the Admission's Test. I was assigned the courier mission, and only one can be given per test!" Sensara exclaimed, easily distracted. "I just thought that the boy needed a little challenge to see if he was worthy," Iures tried to explain. "Worthy? Worthy of what?!" Sensara asked, enraged. "Of the school...and of you. You are the only relative I have that doesn't try to stick me in an institution, I won't hand you over to some scumbag!" he exclaimed, gaining confidence. Sensara sat there, shocked. "I don't need you testing the man I love. Also, I won't turn you in this time, but if you do anything like that again, I won't hesitate. C'mon Ryna, we're leaving," Sensara said, standing and walking back to Ryna. Grabbing his arm, she turned to leave. "Hold on a second. Mr. Ryna, I need to have a word with you, alone," Iures said, now standing as well. Sensara ignored him. "You go ahead, I'll be down in a second," Ryna said, smiling at her. Reluctantly, she released her deathgrip on his arm, and pretended to walk down the corridor. When Iures and Ryna had turned around, she slipped into the bathroom next to the study. "I will cut right to the chase Mr. Harcourt, I was surprised that you were able to complete the courier mission, especially after I increased the difficulty using various mechs and paid fighters," he started. "Please, Gramps, no need for you to be so formal. Just call me Ryna, or kid. Even whippersnapper would be better! In any case, I suspected that you had increased the difficulty, otherwise you wouldn't have stationed something right in front of the exit," Ryna said, a pleasant smile crossing his face. "But! I still do not deem you worthy of her, no matter what she says. If you do anything to her-" "We, kinda, already had sex. Sorry," Ryna said quietly, his smile getting smaller in proportion to the growth of the old man's anger. "Did you at least use protection!?" Iures said, trying to contain his anger. "Ummm...nope. But relax, it'll be alright," Ryna said, trying to calm the old man. "And what exactly is going to be alright?! You had sex with my granddaughter, with no protection, and you expect me to believe that it will be okay just because you said so!?!?" Iures raged. "Well, it is almost impossible for interspecies couples to get pregnant, and STD'd can't get transmitted due to genetic differences. So, as I said, everything will be alright, old man," Ryna said, getting angrier as well. "Interspecies couples? What the devil are you talking about!?" Iures asked, intrigued. "I am not a human, I'm a Diuwel. See, I have horns," Ryna explained, pointing to the barely visible horns on his forehead, "I assumed you knew, seeing as you have all those books open to sections on my species. "You're a...a Diuwel?! No way! They were supposed to have been hunted down a long time ago," Iures stuttered. "Hunted down?! Mom never did seem to want to talk to anyone. Maybe that is why they exiled me, I never really understood it," Ryna said to himself. "You were exiled? Why?" Iures asked, curiosity replacing his anger. "It was about 15 years ago, but I think it was cuz' I talked to a bunch of people, and someone found out what we were. They must have left me behind on Zyloth as punishment. But hey, why were the Diuwel hunted down. I never knew that had happened," Ryna asked, his curiosity matching Iures'. "It was because the Diuwel, at the age of 13, are granted any two powers by their goddess. The other great races of the galaxy feared the Diuwel's abilities, and so proceeded to hunt down the peaceful people. It was thought that all of them had been hunted down hundreds of years ago, but I guess there were still some in hiding. Very interesting, but what two abilities were you granted?" Iures asked. "Hmmm... I don't really know the second one yet, but I know that I can walk on air. Dude, this is so cool, I didn't know any of this shit before, and I borrow one of these books?" Ryna asked, excited. "Sure, my boy-ack!" Iures responded, blushing. "What was that, did you just call me 'my boy'?" Ryna asked, a knowing smile crossing his face. "Accidentally, although, I do understand now why I am losing my granddaughter to you," Iures sighed. "Don't think of it as losing a granddaughter, think of it as gaining a grandson! It's a much better outlook," Ryna responded, a genuine smile crossing his face. "Hahaha, of course! Now, I shouldn't keep you much longer, seeing as Sensara is waiting. I only have one more thing to say to you," Iures said, his tone growing serious. The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 06A The next morning, Ryna was awakened by a familiar weight on his chest. After opening his eyes, he found that Sensara was sprawled across him. Her left leg was over his stomach, while her arm was draped across his chest, and her head was nuzzled into his neck. His own arm was stuck in between her breasts, and she was slowly rubbing her exposed pussy against his hand. "Girl, you're a pervert even when you're asleep, aren't you?" he askedher sleeping form. After disentangling himself from Sensara, he quickly got dressed in a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. After leaving a note for Sensara and placing a pillow where he had been in the bed, he grabbed an apple from the kitchen and made his way to the front door of the dormitory building. It was still dark outside, probably around 6:00, when Ryna finally managed to find his way out of the dormitory building, thanks in no small part to an elderly cleaning woman named Chicha who had given him directions. He quickly found his way back to the dome building he had taken his test in, then wandered inside until he found what he was looking for: the workout room. He had been working out for two hours when he heard the door to the room open. Ignoring it, he continued to workout until a familiar voice called his name. "Ryna, is that you? It is so good to see you again so soon!" called Laura's voice from behind him. "Hey Laura. You do realize that it hasn't even been 24 hours since I saw you last, right?" Ryna asked without pausing his workout. "That is why I included the 'so soon' part, silly," Laura replied flirtily. "You also realize that I have a girlfriend, correct? And she doesn't seem overly fond of you," Ryna retorted, catching her tone. She sat behind him on the bench, twirling a finger on his shoulder blade. "That's cuz' she feels threatened by me. But that is no reason for you to not like me! I am here anytime you get tired of her," Laura suggested, pushing her breasts into his back. "Thanks, but no thanks. What you could do though, is tell me what there is to do around here until classes start," Ryna asked. He stood up and grabbed a towel from a nearby wall, making Laura almost fall over from the sudden lack of support. "Fine, be like that. The only thing that I know is happening today is a tournament of the beautiful game," Laura answered. She picked herself up off of the bench and followed Ryna as he turned to leave. "The beautiful game? What is that?" Ryna asked, continuing out of the workout room. "Soccer, duh. You use anything but your hands and arms to put the ball into the opposing team's goal," Laura explained. "I've never heard of that...oh wait a minute, I used to play a game called 'football' in the streets of Zyloth. We had to use our feet to put a small ball into a net. Is that the same game?" Ryna asked, getting excited. "Yeah, I think it is. Anyway, the tournament starts in two hours in the big arena you took the Admissions Test in," Laura said, getting excited as well. "Cool, I'll check it out!" Ryna called back to her as he broke into a run back to the dormitory. About 20 minutes later, he arrived back at the door to his apartment. Quietly opening the door, he smelled something delicious and cinnamon from the kitchen. He shut the door as quietly as he could, then tip-toed his way into the kitchen. Coming up behind Sensara, he waited until she didn't have anything in her hands, then groped her tits through the apron she wore. "KYAAAAH! RYNA STOP IT!" She yelled, weakly slapping at his hands while they pinched her nipples. "If you say so..." Ryna whispered into her ear. He removed his hands and waited a couple seconds before he slid one hand in behind her apron, then feeling his way down to her clit. The sudden stimulation was too much for Sensara, making her knees buckle. Ryna laughed, catching her before she hit the ground then sat at the small table opposite from the cooking appliances. Sensara crawled after him, waiting until he was seated before she yanked at his sweatpants. "I am not your plaything, Ryna!" She exclaimed, flicking his exposed cock. "Owww, that actually hurt a little. Besides, I stopped, didn't I?" Ryna asked sarcastically, a smirk crossing his face. Sensara opened her mouth to retort, but stopped when she caught a whiff of his cock, unwashed after the workout. Slowly, intoxicated by the musky scent, Sensara leaned closer to the source of the scent. Without realizing it, she took the head into her mouth, eager to taste the deliciously-tempting smell. "Mmmm, Sensara!" Ryna moaned, breaking her out of her trance. She pulled up immediately, blushing fiercely. "N-n-now is-isn't the t-t-time for that," Sensara stammered. She turned away from him and resumed cooking. "Damn it, looks like my attempt at seduction failed this time... Oh well, at any rate, I am rather hungry," Ryna remarked, his stomach growling right on cue. "That was a rather poor attempt at seduction, don'tcha think?" Sensara asked, flashing Ryna a flirty smile, "If you had really wanted to get down to business right here, you should have said something really sensual in my ear. Instead, you groped me," Sensara explained. "I am a guy after all, you shouldn't expect that much delicacy, especially when the only thing you have on is an apron," Ryna joked, eyeing her exposed ass. "You perv, it was just the most convenient thing to put on while cooking. I prefer to walk around nude when I am in a comfortable and safe environment," Sensara replied, slightly irritated that Ryna wasn't taking her seriously. "This would be a safe environment if you weren't so goddamn sexy," Ryna flirted, watching her shoulders relax. She grabbed two plates from a cupboard above the stove, then served food onto both plates. "You are such a flirt, we both know you don't mean that," Sensara said, turning around and placing the plates on the table. She sat down and was about to begin eating when Ryna leaned over the small table and kissed her. Lightly at first, he pressed his tongue against her lips until she relented, allowing his tongue entrance into her mouth. His tongue sensually brushed against hers before he drew back, breaking the kiss. "Why would I lie about something like that?" Ryna asked, looking into her eyes. "Because you want to get laid," Sensara stated simply. "Alright, what's up? Why are you being so pissy?" Ryna asked, concern filling his eyes. "Nothing is up, it isn't like I need to ask you something, or anything," Sensara huffed, looking away. "So what do you need to ask me?" Ryna asked, leaning back and taking a bite of the roll-like thing Sensara made. "I need to ask you what you are doing today," Sensara said, still looking away angrily. "Ummm... I think I am going to an all-day football tournament, why? This is delicious, by the way," Ryna stated, taking another bite. "Thank you, it is the first time I've made it-Wait a minute, you are already going to the Soccer tournament?!" Sensara asked disbelievingly. "Yeah, why? Is that a bad thing?" Ryna asked, confused. "No, it is fantastic! I have a team, but I needed a forward. Are you already signed up?" Sensara asked, her mood brightening considerably. "Not that I am aware of, Laura only told me this morning," Ryna answered, immediately realizing his mistake. "Laura told you? Oh how nice of her. Tell me, when and where exactly did you two meet?" Sensara said through gritted teeth. Ryna noticed that her grip on the table was turning her knuckles white. "Ummm, she sorta ambushed me in the workout room. Nothing else happened though, I promise," Ryna assured her, affectionately putting his hand on hers. "Alright, we are leaving now to register you with my team!" Sensara said, standing and going to the door. "Love, you may want to put some clothes on if you want to go out in public, I really would rather not have to explain that to your grandfather," Ryna said, eating the rest of the cinnamon roll whole. "Ah! I totally forgot!" Sensara exclaimed, running back to the bedroom to get dressed. __________________________________________________________________ Thirty minutes later, the pair were standing at the front desk of the building being used for the tournament, aptly named the "Megadome". Sensara had thrown on a light orange sweater that clung to her curvaceous body and ended mid-thigh, as well as a pair of black pantyhose. "All in all," Ryna thought, "Very sexy and good looking for a mere five minutes to prepare.," "What do you mean Ryna is already registered!?" Sensara asked a green rocky-looking alien at the desk, pulling Ryna out of his thoughts. "It says here that Ryna Harcourt is registered as a forward on team Valkyrie," the being answered with a gravelly voice. "Team Valkyrie? Who is the registered manager of that team?" Sensara asked, her voice becoming sickly sweet. "Ummm, let's see here. The manager is a Ms. Laura Bann. I assume that you are this mister Ryna? The assigned locker room for Valkyrie is #13," The being replied. "Thank you so much for your help," Sensara said, turning on her heel to face Ryna, "I have no idea what that bitch is planning, but it won't be good, I guarantee," Sensara said, the veins on her forehead comically popping out from anger. Ryna dragged her to the side of the entrance hall before he cupped her face with his hands. "Have a little faith in me okay?" Ryna said, kissing her on the forehead, "I need to go now, but I'll see you later. Don't expect me to go easy on your team, by the way!" Ryna exclaimed as he walked off in the direction he assumed locker room #13 was in. "Of course I wouldn't expect any mercy, I'm gonna beat your team so bad it won't even be funny. By the way, #13 is the other direction," Sensara replied, feeling slightly more at ease. She laughed when Ryna spun around on his heel, mouthing the words "Dammit, I was gonna look so cool". ______________________________________________________________ After finally managing to find his way to the locker room, he took a second to plan his next move. Plan formulated, he pushed open the door, and was greeted with the sight of about 10 pretty girls in various stages of undress. A brief moment of silence passed while both sides began to comprehend the situation. "Oh shit, I seem to have the wrong room. My baaaad," Ryna said, regaining his wits first. He quickly exited the room and shut the door just as the first chorus of embarrassed screams began and the first volley of retaliatory items flew at the door. Taking a step away, he looked at the number on the door again. "13" he said aloud. "You do have the right room, if you're wondering," came Laura's voice from behind him. "Like hell I do, there are a bunch of changing girls in there, Laura," Ryna replied, blushing. "That's team Valkyrie. They are changing into our team uniforms. There is one for you in there too, so go change," Laura said, pushing him toward the door. "I don't think those ladies would appreciate it very much if I barged in a second time," Ryna said shortly, easily resisting Laura's push toward the door. "How about I go in and smooth things over, then tell you when you can come in, okay?" she asked, not waiting for an answer before she entered the locker room. A couple minutes later she opened the door and motioned him in. As soon as he set foot into the room, 10 angry glares found their way to him. "Well, this is gonna be rather awkward..." he murmured, grinning sheepishly. "It seems we got off on the wrong foot." "Damn right we did! Not only do you come in and peep on us, but you take Mila's starting spot!" One of the taller girls in goalie wear exclaimed. "Hush Nieva!" Laura chided. She opened a locker near the group of girls and threw a red shirt with vertical black stripes at Ryna. Printed on the back was a large "10", along with his name along the bottom. "Laura, I'm not here to replace any of these lovely ladies," he said, changing his shirt. The girls whistled appreciatively at the sight of his well-defined chest before they remembered to be angry at him again. "But, you have the number 10 printed on here. Tell me, does anyone know what the number 10 position is?" "Not the forward, I'll tell you that," the one Ryna assumed he had replaced said. She was a short Iloni, a near-human race with a slightly red complexion and an incredible amount of stamina due to their heritage of being a slave race thousands of years back. "I-it's the playmaker, t-the central midfielder," a shy-looking human girl with long black hair said softly. "Hey, we have a winner! Yes, the #10 is the central midfielder. Do we have a central midfielder somewhere in this group?" Ryna asked, catching the pair of shorts that Laura threw at him next. "Umm... Y-yes, that's m-me," the shy girl said again, "B-but I like to play d-defence more." "Well, that settles it then, I'll be your attacking midfielder, alright?" he asked the group, receiving a collective murmur of assent, "Now that that is settled, could you ladies turn around for a second?" he held up the pair of shorts. Understanding quickly, the girls turned and waited for Ryna to finish changing. "Why don't we have some sort of introduction? I'm Ryna Harcourt, 1st year, Class C." he announced as he finished putting on the shorts. "I'm Nieva, the goalkeeper. I'm a 2nd year, Class A," Nieva announced after a nudge from Laura. "I'm Nina and this is my twin sister Anna. We are two of the center defenders, and we're 1st years, Class B." said a short brunette, pointing to a blonde girl of similar height standing next to her. "I'm Spahana, the third center defender. I'm a 3rd year, Class F," a tall human girl with her red hair up in a loose bun behind her head. Over the next couple minutes, Ryna learned the names of the rest of the team, Mila was the sole forward, Rafi and Jamina were the wingers, Dahlia was the shy-looking defensive mid, and the two wing defense girls were Decima and Lola. "Now that we've finished with our introductions, I suggest we get a move on! Our first game is in ten minutes, and we haven't talked about any strategy!" exclaimed an irritated Laura. "Chillax, we're playing a 5-4-1, so we'll focus on defending, then catching them off guard with a counter attack," Ryna said, removing his shoes and socks and leaving them by the door to the locker room. "Alright, let's go win something!" "Is he crazy, going out there without cleats, or even shoes!?" Nieva asked Laura as they followed him out. "No idea. He says that he's played before in the streets of Zyloth, so hey," Laura said, shrugging. "If you say so," Nieva muttered as the team lined up near the half line so the referee could check them in. Ryna was looking around, marvelling at the change of scenery from the jungle that had filled the dome the day before. "...young man, are you planning to play without any shoes?" the referee asked, pulling Ryna out of his amazement. "Why no sir, I must have completely forgotten to put them on before I marched all the way out here," Ryna said sarcastically, drawing a muffled snicker from both of the teams gathered at the half line. "Well then, do you accept the risks involved with playing barefoot in a game surrounded by people with spikes attached to their feet. I will not give you any preferential treatment if you choose to play barefoot," he announced, choosing to ignore Ryna's sarcastic comment. He pretended to think seriously for a second, "Well, spikes in my feet would be rather painful, but that assumes that anyone can hit them, so sure, I accept the risks, Mr. Ref." "Alright then, your problem. Anyway, this tournament is a single elimination tournament, so a single loss and you will be viewing from the bench for the rest of the day..." the ref continued on to explain the rules of the tournament and the game itself for those who hadn't played before. Ryna wasn't really paying attention, instead remembering the years he had spent playing on the streets. The two sides took their positions on either side of the half line with the opposing team with the ball first. Ryna noticed that the other team was composed of mostly amateur-looking guys from the 1st and 2nd year students. The whistle blew, and the kickoff was sent back to the defence and passed around to the outside. Jamina intercepted a pass and smashed it inward toward Ryna. He received it easily, and began his sprint toward the goal. "Mila, go into the box and get ready to break!" he shouted, watching the Iloni girl follow his order. One of the opposing players saw his attention shift for a second and took the opportunity to step into Ryna to get the ball. Exactly as he wanted. Ryna held the ball tightly with his feet as he flipped over the confused defender, resting his hand on his shoulder to increase his balance. He released the ball mid-flip, sending it flying through the air toward the next pair of defenders. Then he was off again, leaving the very confused defender behind him as he caught the ball on his foot about halfway to the two midfielders standing to block his way. He lifted it again, juggling the ball over their heads as he passed their helpless attempts to somehow touch the ball. Finally, he had reached the back line. He sent a lobbed through ball over to Mila's waiting foot, which smashed it into the back of the goal. "Holy Shit! That was amazing! I've never seen anyone play like that," Mila exclaimed as they were walking back to the half line. "It wasn't anything, really. I was one of the worst players on my street team back home," he stated, leaving the girl standing in amazement that anyone as good as he was could have been one of the worst players on a team. The rest of the game continued in that same fashion, with the other team giving the ball up to the Valkyrie's defense, who passed it up to Ryna, who gave it to Mila after an increasingly impressive acrobatic show. The final score ended as 6-0. The next game and the game after that were very similar, ending in similar scores of 5-1 and 7-2. A sense of trust and camaraderie built up, and the girls were soon protecting Ryna from the group of fangirls he had amassed with his flashy plays. The finals match was set in the late afternoon on a centrally located field with small bleachers with those who chose to stay and watch. It was between team Valkyrie and a team called Rafae's Fury. The players were allowed a short break before the game, and a familiar figure meandered his way over to Ryna. "Ey mon! How are ya'?" Raas asked, waving enthusiastically. "Raas? Hey man, wassup! How is your arm?" Ryna asked, walking over to where Raas was standing. "Eh, it's fine now. I heard we're gonna be in the same class mon', but that isn't why I came over here," Raas said. "Oh, and why did you come over here? You trying to psyche me out before the big game?" Ryna asked jokingly. "No way mon', I'ma let the big boss do that! She needs a fix I think, and you being her lover and all..." Raas said thoughtfully. "This is Sensara's team?" Ryna asked, getting a quick nod from Raas, "Where is she?" "Over there, under the bleachers," Raas explained, pointing to the bleachers set up on the left side of the field. After giving Raas a quick "thanks", Ryna sprinted off around the bleachers. As he got closer, he heard the tune of "Lonely" being hummed out. "Ryna!? What are you doing here?" Sensara asked as she saw him come under the bleachers and sit next to her. "What do you mean 'what am I doing here'? Raas told me you were here and rather sad. And lonely too, judging from the song choice," Ryna said softly, putting his arm around her and rubbing her shoulder. "Of course I'm lonely! But since you've been out hanging with a bunch of pretty girls all day, obviously you aren't!" Sensara exclaimed, pushing his hand off his shoulder. The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 07A "Ryna, Ryna! Wake up you lazy-ass lump!" called a voice from near Ryna. Opening his eyes, he was greeted by the beautiful sight of Sensara's back, putting on a collared shirt that looked like part of a uniform, calling over her shoulder for him to get up. "No way, I'm going back to sleep," he mumbled, turning away from her. He knew that she wouldn't give up, but he tried anyway. "How can you even consider going in late to the first day of class! Grandfather would be appalled!" she exclaimed, buttoning her shirt up over her voluptuous breasts. "You sure? Cuz Gramps seems like the guy who would skip the first day entirely," Ryna joked, chuckling. He didn't see Sensara roll her eyes, but he knew that she had anyway. "Grandfather is a perfectly respectful and organized person, unlike a certain person I know," Sensara said with mock indignation. She momentarily forgot her efforts to get dressed and sat on the edge of the bed nearest to her stubborn boyfriend. "Maybe if I had some... incentive..." Ryna said, only half-joking. He turned again, this time to face Sensara, and looked up into her eyes seductively. "You do have an incentive! An education!" she exclaimed softly, placing her hand lightly on his face as she leaned down into a kiss. Slowly, and without breaking the kiss, she coaxed him into sitting up. Then, breaking the kiss, she teased "There's more if you'll get up," Ryna groaned with a resigned look on his face. "Fine, be like that. I'll get up, but only cuz' you asked so nicely." He got up and hurried about as he got dressed in the school's male uniform: a white collar shirt with the school's insignia on the breast pocket and black pants. He threw his trench coat on over top, and waited a couple minutes at the door for Sensara to appear. She looked gorgeous in her uniform, a short skirt the same black color as his pants and a white blouse, also with the school's logo over one of her breasts. "Finished staring?" Sensara asked playfully. "Staring? Me? Never! I would never think that you look really hot in that uniform or anything," Ryna said sarcastically, grabbing her hand as he pushed open the door of the dormitory. "Wait a minute, aren't you taking a bag or something to carry stuff around?" Sensara asked, pulling him back into the room. "Nope. I planned to be asleep today, so I won't be there to get anything." Ryna explained sarcastically. Sensara slapped his shoulder, muttering "asshole" playfully as she turned around to go find a bag. She came back a second later with an ugly light brown satchel, and held it out for him to take. "Am I allowed to reject the bag?" Ryna asked, pointing to the bag in her hands. "No, you are not." Sensara stated dangerously, her eyes daring him to refuse. "Well, then it's a good thing you chose such a splendid bag!" Ryna lied as he took the bag's handle and flung it over his back. "Shall we be going?" he asked, taking her hand again. This time she consented, walking close to his side as they made their way out of the building. "Well, it is at this juncture that you should take over leading us to the classes, as I have no idea where the fuck anything is around here," Ryna said overly formally as they exited the building. "Sure darling, I'd be happy to lead you to the classrooms," Sensara answered sweetly, ignoring his profanity. She took the lead, walking across campus to a large building that resembled a "U" made from a white metal. "This is the main school building," Sensara announced as they reached the door, "The library is behind this building, and the gym is next to the library." "Alright, awesome. Now I just need to remember which homeroom I'm in, and we'll be all set," Ryna said, opening the door for Sensara. "You're in class 1-X. I checked this morning, before you woke up. Be careful! I heard that there were a lot of tough guys in that class," Sensara warned, turning him to face her after they had gone through the door. There were people all over the lobby, looking awkward or conversing with friends. "1-X? What the hell kinda class name is that? I thought I was in class C?" Ryna asked, putting his arms around her back. "Did you read the school's pamphlet at all?" she asked, getting a quick shake of the head, "Well, the male classes are labelled X-Z, while the female classes are A-C. They are split because the two sexes get different educations," Sensara explained, returning the embrace by wrapping her arms around his neck. "Oh, and one more thing! Girls here tend to be a little arrogant because they are perceived as more important here at the academy," "Oh? And why is that?" Ryna asked quietly, leaning his forehead against hers. "Aside from the fact that girls are just generally better," she said, making Ryna laugh softly, "The girls here are chosen specifically for their aptitude with a certain secret technology," "And I assume that girls are the only ones who can use the technology, otherwise there wouldn't be any reason for them to feel superior," Ryna said. "Exactly. Anyway, the bell will ring soon, so we should get to class," Sensara said, breaking the embrace and running off down one of the side hallways. Ryna stood in the lobby for a couple minutes before he made his way down the opposite hallway toward the male classrooms. He reached a rather beat-up looking sliding door with a marker reading "1-X". He slid the door open, revealing a very low-tech and traditional appearing classroom. It had wooden desks lined up in about 6 rows of 5 until about 2 meters from the front desk, where a familiar ball-like humanoid sat. Ignoring the various guys who had looked up when he had entered, he walked straight up to the desk. "Mr. Deep Roy! What a surprise! I look forward to the coming year," Ryna extended his hand to the orange man. "Oh joy, you're in my class. Just sit down, and we can get started with class," he said tiredly, ignoring Ryna's outstretched hand. Ryna turned, taking a window seat in the second row from the front. It was then that he looked around, examining his classmates. There were only about 10 other people in the room, and all of them looked slightly older than him. Except for a beaming Raas who made his way over to sit next to him. "Ey mon! I didn't know you were in this class too!" he said enthusiastically. Ryna was rather relieved that he knew someone in his class. "Yeah, wassup!" Ryna exclaimed. "I'm doin good, mon!" he lowered his voice to a conspiratorial whisper, "But this class is knowed for its, eh, combat prowess and... readiness to fight. It might be hard to get along with everyone else if that is true." Before Ryna could respond, the teacher floated up out of his chair, allowing him to look down on the class. "I guess that's everyone who'll be coming today. My name is Zander Feuran, your homeroom teacher. Unfortunately, I already know most of you in here, seeing as you were here last year as well. I want to make it through at least the first week before we have a violent incident, okay?" "Yo, Zander! I thought they'd reassign you to a different class after all the complaints you filed last year!" A bald guy sitting on top of a desk in the middle of the classroom yelled out. "Yes well, not everything goes the way you want, does it, Mr. Juras. Because there are only, what? Two new kids? I'll just let you all do introductions on your own time. Instead, I'll go over what the headmaster gave me earlier," the teacher said, looking around the classroom briefly. "As I hope all of you know, this is the Vanguard Training Academy, or Van-cademy for short. It is here that the future generations of the Vanguard Defence Force are trained. The school is divided into Male and Female due to the required differences in the curriculum. The girls learn to operate–" "Zander, we heard all this shit last year!" one of the kids on the desks next to the bald kid interrupted. "What an astute observation Michael! If you didn't know, I am required to read this every year, regardless of your personal feelings about it." Mr. Zander retorted, trying to keep his anger from overflowing. "Now, were was I? Oh right, The girls learn to operate the advanced Limit Removal System, as well as various other things consistent with officer training in the Armed Forces. You boys have been split up into the three based off your own affinities. Class Z is for those with skills pertaining to information-gathering and stealth, and Class Y is for those with abilities that give them an edge while operating vehicles and machinery. Finally, Class X, this class, is for those who have shown themselves exceedingly capable in combat. Your curriculum will revolve around combat styles, familiarity with every weapon system in use by the VDF, as well as those used by the Federation Navy, Army, and Marines. Good luck in your training, though I hope you never have to use it. -Headmaster Iures." "Yo, teach! That was the exact same one as last year! I thought that the headmaster wrote a new one every year!" the bald kid exclaimed. "Usually he does, but he wasn't there at this morning's staff meeting, so none of the new ones were passed out to the teachers," Mr. Zander explained, his patience growing thin. The mention of Iures missing drew a chuckle from Ryna, though. "Then you should have, like, ad-libbed it, or something!" one of the other guys joked. The other guys laughed, a full laugh that grated against Mr. Zander's nerves even further. "If you idiots are so smart, then why didn't you pass last year, huh? I'm not going to deal with it this year! You all have a self-study session until I get back," Mr. Zander huffed angrily as he began floating toward the classroom door. "But Zander! We don't know what to self-study about!" one of the other guys near the back said sarcastically. "I don't care, I'm not going to be your teacher anymore after this!" he yelled as he floated out into the hallway. "Well, that was great, you pissed off Mr. Deep Roy the first ten minutes of the class!" Ryna remarked. The bald kid, apparently the leader, came over and sat on the desk in front of him. "Relax newbie, he'll be back. He just needs to blow off some steam. After all, this is the second year we all have been in his class," he said in a friendly tone. "You guys failed last year?" Ryna asked, not quite managing to contain his laughter. "That funny to ya, huh newbie? You got some nerve, coming in and making fun of Juras Lairn, the leader of the Shining Fangs!" he exclaimed with an over-inflated sense of importance. "I think your gang name is a little cliche, don'tcha think?" Ryna asked sarcastically, openly laughing now. Even Raas was chuckling a little bit. "Alright newbie, if you think you can make fun of me, let's see what you got!" Juras challenged. His followers had been following intently, and began cheering. "If you wanna get your ass kicked, that really isn't my problem," Ryna provoked, standing up and stretching his back. "Let's go and get this over with now! In the gym behind the school, 10 minutes, be there!" Juras exclaimed, leaving the room. The other guys in the classroom also left excitedly. "You sure this is a good idea mon? This be their second year here, so they got a year of experience on ya'! This could get ugly for you, just saying," Raas warned, worried. "Thanks for the support Raas. If I end this now, then I won't have to deal with it the rest of the year, and next year if they pass. Besides, I won't lose, Sensara would never forgive me," Ryna joked, making his way to the door as they talked. The rest of the walk to the Gym was silent as Ryna pretended to be mentally preparing for the fight, and Raas worried for his friend. They arrived in the gym, a large domed building made from the same sculpted white metal as the school building. They entered through a large set of double doors, and were greeted by the sight of a rough box marked by crudely applied white paint on the wooden floor. Juras stood in the center of the box, waiting for Ryna's arrival. "Hello ya little punk. I'm about to administer a beat-down, but pay attention to the rules anyway. Rule #1, no weapons. Rule #2, the match ends when one of us isn't able to fight anymore, or gives up. And Finally, Rule #3: the winner of this fight will be the new leader of the Shining Fangs. Get it? Got it? Good, get in here so we can start," Juras explained, motioning him forward. "I don't know why you called your gang to watch this fight. This is going to end rather anticlimactically," Ryna remarked as he stepped into the box. He didn't bother taking up a fighting stance, instead leaving his hands in his pockets. "Is that so? You plan to give up that early?" Juras taunted. "Listen, why don't we just end this now? I can see that you're a good guy, kinda. I don't like beating up nice guys, so just give up now," Ryna demanded, sincerely trying to get the other man to back off. "Too late now, you bastard! I won't let you take pity on me!" he yelled as he charged, his fist flying straight at Ryna's throat. Ryna jumped, easily clearing his head, and landed behind him. His elbow flew back, smashing against Juras' neck, knocking him out cold instantly. "As I said, anticlimactic. Now, I'm gonna go to the library to 'self-study'," Ryna remarked, starting toward the door. "Wait a minute, you just beat our leader, so you're the leader of the Shining Fang's now!" one of the spectators called out. "I don't particularly give a fuck, do whatever the hell you guys want," Ryna said, annoyed. "That isn't how it works! The gang's rules state that the gang's leader always be surrounded by lesser gang members for his protection. Therefore, we need to follow you," said a bookish looking guy near the back of the crowd. As he spoke, the others made way for him to step up to the front, allowing Ryna a better look at the man. He was tall for a human, with icy blue eyes and spiky brown hair. When he reached the front, he started speaking again. "My name is Ulgo, I'm the Shining Fang's lawkeeper. I have served since this gang's founding, and I won't allow you to come in and screw everything up because you don't want to be a part of the gang." he announced passionately. "What the hell kind of gang has a 'lawkeeper'? And why are you all so attached to the goddamn gang?" Ryna asked, confused and angry at the same time. "We have a lawkeeper so that we won't hurt anyone who doesn't deserve it!" a short, feline-like blue-skinned humanoid yelled. "Yeah, and we love this gang cuz it's our family here at Van-cademy!" a taller, tan humanoid with a large white afro explained. "O.K., so you guys are a self-righteous family-gang? Like the Mafia? Am I understanding this right?" Ryna asked. They all nodded. "And I am the newest member of this family?" Ryna asked again, incredulous. Another round of nods. "And I'm not allowed to quit, I presume." Ryna stated, rather than ask. More nods. "You guys suck, you know that? I'm going to the library, and I don't wish to be disturbed by you weirdos, so how do I do that, Mr. Lawkeeper?" Ryna asked. "My name is Ulgo. And you would need to appoint someone else into a position of power for us to guard. Someone in the gang already, mind you, and who has proven their ability to be a good leader," Ulgo explained. "Alright, I assign Juras as my second in command, go hang out with him." Ryna announced disinterestedly, already leaving for the library. He ignored their excited shouts as he made his way into the peaceful sanctuary. The library was almost empty, save for a couple librarians running around here and there. He sat down at a far table after grabbing a book on ancient martial arts styles from across the galaxy titled "Fighting Before Space". "Those idiots really went and made me the head of their stupid gang. What the hell! This is only my first fucking day at school too!" Ryna mumbled to himself, only half-reading the textbook in front of him. Behind him, a melodious voice spoke up. "Oh how terrible, to be respected on the first day of school!" the voice said sarcastically. Ryna turned to address the person, but there was no one behind him. "Great, now I'm going insane," he muttered under his breath. He turned back around and began reading his book again. "Not insane... simply unobservant," the voice said again. Ryna realized she was a girl, judging from the pitch. Ryna saw a flicker of movement to his right and whirled, reaching out at the same time. His hand made contact with what felt like a piece of cloth for a brief second. But a second was all he needed. His fingers clamped down on the invisible cloth and pulled. The cloth pulled away easily, revealing a younger girl about a foot shorter than him, adorned with dark black form-fitting robes. A mask was pulled back, revealing her face, a small, roundish affair topped by short auburn hair. She was blushing slightly from being caught, averting her green eyes from him. "Clearly not as unobservant as we thought, huh?" Ryna asked with a smirk. "Fine, you caught me. You want a medal or something?" she asked sarcastically, trying to regain her composure. "Not really, but it would be nice if you could tell me why exactly you were messing me from behind an invisible piece of cloth," Ryna said. He didn't phrase it like a demand, but his tone reassured her that it was. "First off, it isn't invisible, it has millions of tiny cameras and screens that show what is behind me on the front, so it looks like I'm not there–" she began. "I'm really not interested in the cloth," Ryna interjected. "–and second, I was sent here to deliver something if I deemed you worthy," she finished, ignoring his interruption. "That is great. Next time tell them to use UPS. Those guys don't hide from the recipients of their packages. Plus they bring that huge sense of anticipation when you see they brought you a package. All in all, a much better experience than Ninja Delivery Services, or whoever the hell you're with," Ryna said, folding his arms across his chest. "I am not a delivery service, you rude-ass monkey!" she exclaimed angrily. "SSHHHHHH!!" commanded a passing librarian. "Right, well, deliver the package then, ms..." Ryna whispered. He had forgotten he was in the library. "No way. I'm not giving you the package or my name," the ninja-girl replied, obstinately refusing to make eye-contact. "Hmmm... Okay then, have fun explaining to your boss that you failed your delivery. And mention that the whole cosplay thing is fine, but not in public," Ryna answered, refusing to get angry. He sat down and began reading again. They stayed like that for about ten minutes before she cracked and talked. "We're not a delivery service, idiot. I can't believe how rude you've been," she announced suddenly. "You are delivering a package, right? Therefore, you are currently performing the duties of a delivery service," Ryna replied, not even looking up from his book. "I am a member of the Haira Family. We have been serving the Harcourt Family for over a thousand generations, or didn't you get that far in your studies?" she sneered. "I think that you are missing some vital parts of the equation here Miss. I was banished from the Harcourt Family when I was, like, 3. And the Diuwel race in general. I haven't even seen another one since then," Ryna said, laughing. "What?! Then why was I sent to give you Naek's Scroll?" she muttered to herself, unconsciously touching the bag on her back. "Naek's Scroll? What's that?" Ryna asked, curious. "Umm... Nothing. It's is nothing, absolutely nothing," the ninja-girl said, backing away as Ryna stood up. "Is it some sort of instructional guide for getting through puberty written by my ancestors?" Ryna joked. The girl laughed, momentarily dropping her guard. Ryna saw the drop and instantly he was behind her, hands in her bag. The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 07A "HEY!! What the hell are you doing?!" she exclaimed, jumping away. Ryna had found what he was looking for though, and hastily placed it in his back pocket before she noticed the scroll was missing from her bag. "Sorry, I couldn't help it, you're just so cute," Ryna lied, trying to scare her off. "You really think that...?" she asked quietly, blushing again, "I mean, wait a minute, you're a pervert, totally undeserving of Naek's Scroll! I'm leaving!" She turned and sprinted off, forgetting both to check the bag for the scroll, and her reflector cloth. Exactly as Ryna had planned. "That was awkward though. I really don't enjoy touching girls other than Sensara just for the hell of it. And she'll castrate me if she ever finds out that I touched another girl's ass, even if it was through a bag," he muttered to himself as he sat back down. He took the scroll out of his pocket, examining it for the first time. It was about a half inch in diameter, with a red back to the paper. It was clearly very old, evidenced by the many wrinkles visible on the paper. He opened it and read the first section: "To all of my descendants, I am Naek Harcourt, 1st bearer of Carl, and 2nd Headmaster of the Extra Academy of Ruk. For many, many, and I mean many years, I have studied in the hope that one day, I could relieve my family of the very curse that I brought upon our family. It is unknown how exactly I acquired the demon known as 'Carl', all I know is that, with his own affirmation, I am the first human he was contracted to. Now this may seem rather confusing if you don't know who I am referring to. Carl is a demon that is inherited by the youngest member of the Harcourt Family when the current host dies. He grants the host immense strength, speed, and perceptions, as well as several other nonhuman abilities I will elaborate on later. The trade-off is that he continually requires sacrifice in order to use his abilities, with the price growing larger in proportion to the amount of power the host wishes to gain." For example, to use anything over 75% of his power, you must sacrifice a limb. Fortunately and unfortunately, he inhabits the host's body as well, and as such, he does not wish to cause the premature death of his host, as that could have adverse effects on him. On the topic of Carl's habitation of bodies, releasing his powers causes drastic changes to the host's physical appearance. Typically, the host's hair will become white, leaving the original color only at the tips, horns will grow from the forehead of the host, and claws will grow from the hands and feet after 50%..." Ryna read. "Wait a minute, I already have white hair and horns, I thought that was just how Diuwels were," Ryna muttered, continuing to read. " Carl grants many abilities that haven't ever been exhibited as Talents by other Ruks. He allows the host to use Demon Fire, a flame that can be molded by the host's will into any shape or form. Control over the Temporal Plane is another of Carl's rather amazing abilities. This ability is actually able to be used by the host even when they don't have Carl's power activated. Essentially, this power allows the host to pause, fast-forward, rewind, slow, or speed up the time of any object. I personally would pause the universe when I moved, making it seem as though I simply appeared wherever I resumed time. The third and final ability that I have come across in my years of study and commune with Carl is the existence of a 'Full Seal Release', of which even Carl seemed fearful. His description was of a giant explosion that would absolutely annihilate everything within several hundred miles, even the very air we breathe, in the form of a perfect sphere. This, he said, was the only way to kill him completely." Now, you may wonder why I haven't done this if I consider Carl such a curse. The simple reason is that this blast would destroy any planet it is unleashed upon, However, if this could be unleashed in the void beyond my planet... Ah, I apologize, that is but the ramblings of an old man. But if there truly is anything beyond this planet, I would assume that all of us known as 'Extras', the scum of society for the crime of being born with two Talents, rather than one, would vacate our positions here to take one among the infinite stars that fill the sky. But, alas, I confess, if such a thing were to happen, I would not doubt that their hatred for those who oppressed them would follow them, poisoning the beauty of the galaxy for them." The only thing left to inform you of, my beloved descendants, is how one goes about actually summoning or communing with Carl. I have left an image of the seal I commonly employed during the exploits of my youth to summon his abilities below this letter. As for communing, I have found that it is not a skill everyone who inherits Carl has. I was lucky enough to have been given the ability to muster enough concentration to hear him. He told me that 'if one summons the will to speak with me, then all they need do is call out my name and I shall respond'. Basically meaning that, if you wish, and are indeed able to speak with him, mentally call him, and he shall respond. I warn you though, he has a rather casual tongue." I apologize, I have noticed that the young ones have little patience for long lectures, and this letter is dragging out rather long. I have given all I know about him to you, descendant of mine, and I ask for only one thing in return. How generous, right? Right, back to my one request. I ask that this scroll be given to every inheritor of Carl so that they don't make some heinous mistake that I could have prevented. Any heinous mistake I couldn't have prevented is fair game, though.-Naek Harcourt, some form of your grandfather" Ryna reread the scroll several times, soaking in every bit of information. Finally, after he had spent hours copying everything into his own notebook as a back-up, he decided to see if he had truly inherited this Carl, or if this was someone's idea of a bad joke. "This has been quite the first day of school," he remarked as he sat back in his chair, relaxing. Gathering his concentration for several minutes, he finally thought one word: Carl! Yes, what is it, Ryna, I believe? Came an unfamiliar voice from deep inside Ryna's conscience. Startled, he almost lost his concentration. Umm... Hi, I guess, nice to meet you. Kid, if that is all you wanted to say, you didn't need to contact me. He chided. Chill out bro, it is just a little awkward talking to a guy that has lived inside you without your knowledge for...how many years? I've been in you since you were born. That is why you permanently have white hair and horns. Or didn't you notice that none of the other Ruks had the same features as you? I was three when they abandoned me. Three is not the age most kids become entirely aware of their surroundings and notice differences between themselves and others... just saying. The voice laughed, a deep booming sound inside his head. It occurred to Ryna that he must look really strange to anyone passing by, but he ignored the thought, turning back to the conversation. So, Carl, how old are you? Like, how long ago was that scroll written? Human years don't really apply to me, but if you must know, it was about 25,000 years ago, give or take 100. So, you're like, the oldest living thing in the galaxy, and you reside in my conscience? Feel free to pipe in with advice whenever you feel like it, you know. I am a demon, not your mentor. Any advice I would give you would just be bad anyway, I really don't understand Ruk culture and habits. Ruk? Like, what Old Man Naek was talking about? Yes, you are Ruk, did you not know? Carl seemed confused by Ryna's response. Umm... no, I had no idea, I thought I was a Diuwel. That is the one thing I remember about my childhood. I am unaware of this term, Diuwel. But, I haven't been able to communicate with a host for over 10,000 years, so hey, that seems like a possible reason why. Oooo, I almost feel special– Ryna's stomach grumbled, breaking his concentration, as well as alerting him to the arrival of lunch time. "Well, that was interesting. Carl seems like a chill dude though," Ryna mumbled as he packed up all of his things, careful to roll up to scroll and place it delicately into his ugly bag. He made his way out of the library, apologizing to the librarians for his loud behaviour. It was a short walk back to his classroom. He opened the door, and every head in the room turned to face him. "Boss! Who was that hot chick who came in here looking for you?!" Juras exclaimed. "Uh, who came in here earlier?" Ryna asked, forced back against the door as the gang members crowded around him. "It was this hot chick with brown hair and tits-to-die-for! She said she was looking for you, but we didn't know where you were, so we told her which desk was yours, and she put something inside it! Raas wouldn't let us look, and he wouldn't tell us who it was, so you have to!" demanded the small blue humanoid. "Um... Well, I think that it was probably my girlfriend, Sensara," Ryna said, squirming awkwardly. "Did you say Sensara? Like, Sensara Liuna? The school's #1 student, and the granddaughter of the headmaster? Not to mention the next heir of the Liuna Corporation!" the bald-headed guy who had been next to Juras exclaimed\asked. Ryna nodded. "That's our boss! Seducing the school's #1 student, and quite possibly the school's #1 hottie before the first day of school!" the white afro-man exclaimed, overjoyed. "I deem her acceptable for you, Boss Ryna," Ulgo announced, stunning the whole crowd to silence. "Boss, you just got Ulgo's approval! Even Juras' girl didn't get Ulgo's approval! Congratulations Boss!" another gang member said in hushed tones, still shocked by Ulgo's announcement. Ryna took the opportunity and broke through the crowd to get to his desk. Inside it sat a plain blue box with a note on top. As he opened the note, what must have been the entire gang piled up behind it to read it as well. "Darling Ryna, I want to 'talk' up on the roof. Come alone, and bring your lunch too, okay?" The note read. The entire gang backed away as Ryna turned, lunch in hand, to walk out of the classroom. "Juras, you're in charge till I get back, I assume the teacher is still M.I.A., so don't worry about him. Boys, Boss is about to go get lucky, so I'll see you later," Ryna said jokingly as he left the room. The dull roar of "Go get her Boss!!" echoed through the hallway as he made his way to the stairs. He ignored the signs put up to scare 1st years away from the older year's corridors. He made his way up to the roof, not even hearing the shouts and threats coming from the students in the older hallways he passed. He opened the door to the roof, and was immediately greeted by the sight of the open sky. But no Sensara. He stepped out onto the roof, sighing when something smashed into his back, forcing him to the ground. "What the hell?!" Ryna exclaimed as he hit the ground. "Surprised? I wanted to get the jump on you this time!" exclaimed Sensara's familiar voice. "That is great, you got me. Now let me up please," Ryna pleaded. "Maybe, I don't know. I kinda like this position," Sensara teased. "But I can't see your beautiful face when I'm facing the ground. And that, is a travesty," Ryna flirted, feeling her shift off of him. He stood up and grabbed her waist and tickled. She shrieked in delight, grabbing at his hands. "S-stop, I need to breathe!" she pleaded, making him let go of her. "Fine, but only because I am extremely hungry. I, for one, suggest we commence eating as soon as we can," Ryna joked, looking around for where to put his lunch down. "Up there," Sensara said, pointing to the flat roof over the stairs, where she had ambushed him from. He walked through the air up onto the roof, noticing her own lunch and a blanket spread out. He watched as Sensara struggled to pull herself up onto the roof. "You could have helped, you know!" she huffed when she finally made it up onto the roof. "But it was more fun watching," Ryna said, putting his hands up to block his face when she playfully punched at him. "You suck, you know that? Anyway, how was your first half-day at school?" she asked, crawling over to the blanket and started to eat her lunch. Ryna opened his up as well, explaining about the gang, how he became its leader, the odd ninja girl (minus the actual acquiring of the scroll), the scroll, and his conversation with Carl. "All in all, a rather boring first half to the first day of class," Ryna joked as he finished talking. "Holy shit Ryna, that is awesome! Like, this Carl guy, he lives in you?" Sensara asked, fascinated. "Yeah, but I don't think we should really telegraph the fact that he exists, or that I can talk with him," Ryna warned, finishing his lunch. "Of course not, I don't want you to get so much attention that I can't get you whenever I want you, like right now," she flirted, pulling him into a kiss on her blanket. Ryna laid down on blanket, letting Sensara straddle him while they kissed. She removed her shirt quickly before Ryna caught her lips again. Ryna's hands quickly migrated down to her ass, and under her skirt. Sensara moaned into his lips as she felt his fingers gently brush over her clit through her panties. He stroked her womanhood lightly through her panties, feeling them soak through with her love juices. Gently, he pulled her panties sideways, exposing her pink pussy. He plunged a finger into her, sending a bolt of pleasure through her body. "You're such a... mmmmm... tease, Ryna," she moaned, thrusting her hips against his hand, trying to take more of his finger into herself. His other fingers "accidentally" brushed against Sensara's clit, making her buck up violently. "You're really sensitive, ya' know that?" Ryna teased, taking the opportunity to release her breasts from her bra. He traced her areola with his tongue, evoking more moans from Sensara. "M-more, I like that," Sensara demanded, pulling his head into her breasts. Ryna indulged himself momentarily before pulling away. "Well, I'm done with lunch, let's go," Ryna said, trying to keep a straight face as he got up. "WHAT!! No way, I haven't cum yet, and I am all important here!" she exclaimed, catching his arm and trying to drag him back under her. "While that is most certainly true, I plan to make you scream, loudly. And the top of a school building is not the most private place for that," Ryna explained, still trying hard not to burst out laughing at the dejected look on her face. "I don't care," she said simply. Ryna bent back down so that he was eye to eye with her. He was having a hard enough time controlling both his laughter and his raging boner as it was, so why did she have to make this so damn hard? "But I don't want to share your screams, their minzez," he announced, putting a comic twist on the end. He stood back up and hopped off the hut, landing gracefully near the door to the stairs. "Wait Ryna! Come back here now!You can't just leave me all hot and bothered here!" she demanded, more joking than serious. "Sure I can, see ya at the dorm room," Ryna said, pulling open the door. "I am seriously going to beat your ass when I get back to that room," was the last thing Ryna heard her say before the door shut behind him. He made his way down the stairs and back to his classroom, unaware of the danger he had placed his classmates in... The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 08A This is a repost with a few minor changes that correct logic mistakes, and adds it to the series (the other one wasn't due to a name error) Enjoy, and please, please, leave comments with what you think!! * It took a month before Ryna's mistake came back to haunt him. To be fair, he had had more pressing matters on his mind, such as surviving Sensara's anger at being left hanging, and how he had made it up to her afterwards. Oh, and school as well. "Thinking back, I accidentally walked through the upperclassmen's hall, didn't I?" Ryna exclaimed as he and Sensara were headed out of their door one morning. "That was a while ago, but yeah, you had to, if you wanted to see me. Even though it was a waste of a trip in the end anyway! But why is that such a big deal?" Sensara replied, oblivious. "In every school I've ever been to, walking through the upperclassmen hallways was a sign of disrespect, unless accompanied by a teacher or an upperclassmen. If someone did that, there were usually serious repercussions," Ryna explained. "Like what?" Sensara asked curiously. She was glued to his arm, as usual. "A beating of either the kid, or one of his friends, and a spraypainted 'keep out'-type message. The thing is, this is a military school, so it will probably be a lot more violent," Ryna said, shuddering at the thought. "Well, I don't really know if that happens here, but, if it does, I will do everything in my power as Student Body President to administer punishment," Sensara announced poetically. "That sounded almost scarily official," Ryna commented sarcastically, earning a punch in the shoulder. "That was how I got elected!" Sensara joked. "I thought it was just Gramps engaging in some good, old-fashioned nepotism," Ryna replied. By now they had arrived at the school building. They kissed goodbye, then made their way to their respective classrooms. Ryna slid open the door with a perfunctory "good morning". However, instead of the usual response of "Boss! Your back!" and etc., Ryna was greeted by the sight of several unfamiliar people holding up Ulgo by the collar. Even without being able to see the bruises that covered his face, Ryna knew immediately what was happening. "Hey, let him go, he didn't do anything," Ryna said, causing one to jump from surprise. "I thought you told all the gang members to stay out of here till we left!" the human holding Ulgo up declared threateningly. "He isn't a gang member... he's our boss!" Ulgo exclaimed, his voice filled with pride. "Boss, leave these guys to me, they aren't anything you need to trouble yourself with." "Big words from the guy hanging a couple inches off the ground," a female voice said from behind the guy holding Ulgo off the ground. A second guy stood next to the first, flexing in an attempt to be menacing. "Why don't you let him go, you all have beef with me, right? Just mess with me, and leave," Ryna said, desperately trying to reach a compromise before things escalated. The big one is partnered with the girl, I feel their connection. The girl is charging some kind of power boost, and will hit her max in a couple seconds Carl chimed in, surprising Ryna. "No need to use any abilities or anything, just drop the kid, and leave peacefully," Ryna pleaded. The girl seemed taken aback, causing her to lose focus for a second. "Boss, I'm alright, don't worry about me!" Ulgo exclaimed, comic admiration filling his eyes. Now! Carl practically screamed into Ryna's head. It was in that moment the big guy charged. His speed was abnormal for a man of his size, and it almost caught Ryna off guard. He barely managed to deflect the first punch away from himself before he spun away, setting himself for the next charge. Thanks, Carl. Ryna thought to the demon. The upperclassman charged again, covering the short distance between them quickly. But this time, Ryna was ready. He grabbed the arm flying in to punch him by the wrist, and twisted, hard. The opponent was forced to spin to prevent fracturing his wrist, exposing his back to Ryna. Ryna brought his knee up into the small of his opponents back, then snaked an arm over his throat. "Do you even lift??" Ryna asked teasingly, gripping his captive's throat in a manner that betrayed his true emotions. "We're here to pay back the disrespect you dealt us last month, and we aren't leaving till we've settled, in full!" the girls exclaimed. Ryna shrugged, then judo-chopped his captive's throat, and shoved him back toward the other two combatants. Ryna grabbed the stumbling man's shoulder, and pulled back. A punch so quick that no one else saw it connected with his jaw, lifting him off the ground easily. Ryna spun, kicking out. There was a blood-curdling crunching sound as his foot connected with the midair man's ribs. He was sent careening into a classroom wall, which he remained slumped against. The rest of the fight was over soon after that. The man holding Ulgo had dropped him and charged clumsily, and was met by a open palm to his jaw, a left jab into his exposed stomach, then a side knee to his head that knocked him out cold. The girl backed away, frightened by the overwhelming display of force. "Leave. I prefer not to have to hit girls," Ryna said menacingly. She turned and ran out of the classroom, leaving her companions behind. "Boss... That was incredible! But now the second and third years will be coming down here to get revenge," Ulgo remarked. Ugly purple bruises covered his face, causing Ryna to look away unconsciously. "Yeah, I know. I'll go have a... chat... with them, and see if I can't get this whole thing sorted out," Ryna replied, sighing heavily. That will be really dangerous... How many of us are you taking with you?" Ulgo asked excitedly. "All of you. Wait here for everyone else, then head to the 3rd year's floor," Ryna said in a tone that announced his determination. "Alright Boss! Also, not to interrupt your cool moment, but, what are we gonna do with the two guys you just knocked out?" Ulgo asked. "Put them in the dungeon!" Ryna declared, turning to leave. "Can do Boss!" Ulgo replied excitedly as Ryna left the room, "Wait a minute, we don't have a dungeon..." Ryna had already left the classroom, leaving Ulgo to ponder where to take the injured men. He made his way to the stairway, then walked through the air onto the 2nd year floor. He ignored the astonished stares from the students in the halls. "Carl," Ryna thought, "you can pause time, correct?" Uh, yes, I can. Do you want me to enable you to? Carl answered. He sounded rather surprised that Ryna knew he had that power. Ryna momentarily put the thought aside. "Yeah, I have the feeling I'll need it for the next few fights..." Ryna thought back. He felt something click inside of him, and a surge of adrenaline and power rushed through his body. Just think of the time-related command you want and it will occur. For example, Time:Freeze! Carl explained. All around Ryna, people stopped in their tracks. In fact, they stopped doing pretty much anything. Ryna stepped in front of someone and poked their lower lip, testing for a reaction. "How long does this hold?" Ryna asked, still testing his unwitting victim for a reaction, or movement of any kind. As long as you want. All you have to do is use the command form and "resume" to start everything again. Carl explained. Fully convinced that time was frozen, Ryna moved on down the hallway. Systematically, he searched each classroom for a large group of thuggish-looking people. Not surprisingly, they were located in a beat-up looking classroom at the far end of the building. He passed the sentries and opened the door, not bothering to try to conceal the noise. The members of the gang were absorbed in a card game, ignoring the couple making out on the couch on one side of the classroom. Ryna took a seat at the card table, and shuffled through the deck of cards, pulling out a royal flush. "Time:Resume!" he thought. As soon as the thought had finished, movement began all around him again. It took several minutes before they realized that a stranger had appeared in their midst. In fact, they didn't notice he was there until Ryna won all of their bets with his Royal Flush. "Whoa! Who are you?!" one of them yelled. "I'm the leader of the 1st year gang. I am here to, uh, settle a debt," Ryna announced, remaining in his seat as every other member of the card table jumped up and backed away. He smiled kindly at the group, hiding his anger. "Why are you here? You're fickin mental!" another member exclaimed, startled. "Hmmm.... I wonder about that...? In any case, I am here to talk to your leader, not you trash." The kind smile never left his face. "Trash?! How dare you! We won't let you talk to the Don until you prove your worth!" yet another gang member, the dealer, announced. In an instant, Ryna had left his seat, and his fist was crashing into the dealer's nose. Spinning, Ryna's elbow connected with another card player's temple. For a few precious moments, the entire group was stunned by the ferocity and speed of the attack. A few moments was all it took for Ryna to take out two more people. Finally, someone struck out, an ill-timed strike that smashed into the jaw of a falling teammate. Ryna grabbed his outstretched arm, and pulled him over his shoulder and into the last of the card players. "Am I 'worthy' yet?" Ryna asked mockingly to the mostly unconscious group on the floor. The couple making out paused slightly, then resumed, deciding that engaging Ryna was not in their best interests. Smart. Near the front of the class, something coughed. Ryna whirled, expecting a fist to be flying at him. Instead, an imposing looking 2nd year sat on a teacher's desk with an unlit cigarette in his mouth. His uniform jacket was on the chair behind him, and the sleeves of his shirt were ripped off, revealing several well-done tattoos. "This is quite the mess, little 1st year," he said to Ryna. "But it wasn't a mess I started," Ryna replied angrily. "Are you suggesting that someone else just mopped the floor with all of my top men?" he asked, incredulous. "No, that was me," Ryna said, allowing himself a small moment of pride. "Than what other mess are you referring to?' the boss asked, genuinely confused. "The one that ganged up on my Lawkeeper this morning," Ryna stated flatly. "Wait a minute-- Your gang has a Lawkeeper?!" the boss asked, chuckling. "That is what I said the first time too! Listen, you seem like a cool guy, but I have to beat you up before I move on to the next floor," Ryna said apologetically. "No you don't. Your subordinate got beat up; my subordinates got beat up. Plus I had no clue there was an order to mess with your gang. I say you just move up now, save us both some pain," the boss suggested, in a significantly lighter mood than just a minute earlier. "Hmmm... I guess. You don't seem like the type that would order a beating for no reason. You're sure it was the 3rd or 4th years that did this to my gang?" Ryna asked, feeling that he could trust this guy. "Probably the 3rd years, as the 4th years don't really get involved with anyone else," he said. "What the hell, he seems to be telling the truth," Ryna thought. I also detect no deception in him. Carl's voice boomed. "Alright, I'll let you off the hook," Ryna said, turning to leave. He made his way up to the third floor of the school building, and was greeted by the sight of his gang members at the top of the stairs. All of them were clutching some sort of makeshift weapon. "Put those down you idiots!" Ryna yelled as he came up behind them. "Ummm, what was that Boss?" one of them asked disbelievingly. "It is disgraceful to attack an enemy caught unawares with weapons. It is one of your goddamn gang rules! And it is just plain cowardly," Ryna said, glaring down any protests. They dropped the weapons, then seemed to become inspired by their leader's braveness. They crept through the hallways, sneakily approaching the classroom used by the 3rd year delinquents. They arrived at their destination, and took up positions for the breach. Using hand signals he had learned from Ulgo a couple days earlier, he communicated that he would bum rush the leader, while they were to engage the cronies. Then he put his ear against the door, listening for any sign that they had been discovered. "--oh dear Sensara, I can't have that," a female voice said from inside. The mention of her name made Ryna's blood freeze. "I won't let you get away with bullying my boyfriend! I'll punish you fairly, so give up!" came Sensara's familiar voice through the door. "Fuck! What is she doing here?!" Ryna thought to himself. He was faced with the difficult choice, the stakes being the safety of his girlfriend. "If you don't call him up here, I will have to do something very unpleasant to you," there was a long pause, then, "boys, could you come here for a second?" In that second, Ryna was decided. He slammed open the door, instantly taking in the entire room. There were about 12 scary-looking guys on his left, walking toward where he was going. Directly in front of him, was his girlfriend, her hands bound, and her uniform sliced open in several places, and a 3rd year girl, holding a knife, which was in the process of cutting open the front of Sensara's shirt. Ryna covered the distance between him and his girlfriend's captor so fast, he probably beat some galactic speed record. He grabbed at the knife, and caught the blade through his palm. Ignoring the pain, he instead focused on bringing his other hand into the girl's stomach in an open-palm strike. He felt it connect, as well as all of the air in her leave at once. As she crumpled, Ryna's knee flew into her face, crunching her nose and sending her flying backward. She caught herself on a bookshelf, her hand on her newly-broken nose. Ryna ignored her momentarily, and pulled the knife out of his hand. He grabbed Sensara's hands, and cut the bindings. She stared at his hand in amazement, watching as the skin drew itself back together as soon as the knife had been completely removed. "Carl--" Before he could tell her to leave, a flying kick connected with his chest, forcing back a few steps. "Hahaha, this is too great! I didn't even need this stupid girl, you came right to me!" she said, laughing maniacally. "You bitch, why the hell did you order an attack my gang?! And abduct my girlfriend!?! All I did was walk in your stupid hallway!" Ryna roared, not even fazed by the previous blow. "Simple! I wanted to get your attention," she said, making it seem as if this was the most obvious answer. "What the fuck? You couldn't have done something more normal, like, I don't know, talked to me?!" Ryna said, unable to resist giving a smart answer. "But that simply wouldn't do! I wanted the ceremony where you join my harem to be magnificent!" she exclaimed, managing to look just as crazy as she sounded. "Now, hold up a second. Who the hell said anything about joining your harem? You tried to filet my girlfriend just a second ago, and you attacked Ulgo, this morning! Who the hell would then date your crazy ass?!" Ryna asked, utterly confused. "Come to me! Join my harem. I'll even kill this bitch for you!" she exclaimed, drawing a knife out of her pocket. She turned to face a terrified looking Sensara, and began to fall on her, knife-first. Adrenaline flashed through Ryna's veins. "Time:Freeze!!" Ryna shouted. The world halted all around him, and he calmly located a piece of paper and a pen. He scribbled down a quick note to the third year, then grabbed a small book, and placed the book in her breast pocket. He stabbed the note with her knife, and then stabbed them both through the book. Why not just kill her? Carl asked. "Cuz that is rather frowned upon in this establishment. And because I don't particularly like to kill people, not really my thing." Ryna said out loud. But it would solve your problems, and keep that girl safe. I know you care for her deeply, so why not just kill the threat? Carl asked. "If I kill her, I get expelled. Sensara is a popular person, meaning that she probably has more than a few enemies. And she is the heir to a major corporation. So, if I get expelled or incarcerated, who is there to protect her?" Ryna replied. He picked up Sensara's frozen body and carried her away from the murderous woman. When he had gotten a safe distance away, he turned to survey the other battle. Things were looking good, relatively speaking. 10 of the 13 men he had come in with were down, but only one of the enemy combatants remained standing. "Good work men, I'll treat you all to something after this is over," he mumbled. He turned back to his opponent, still frozen in her murderous lunge at where Sensara had been. "Time:Resume!" Ryna exclaimed. The woman completed her lunge, but hit nothing but empty flooring. Then she noticed the knife protruding from her breast pocket. She flailed frantically, trying to dislodge the knife from herself, but it held tight in the book. Ryna turned, and strode to the fray between his remaining three men and the big, well-muscled enemy. With a single well-timed kick, Ryna sent the man sprawling. "Boys, gather the wounded. Any that can walk, make your way to the infirmary. Carry any of those that can't," Ryna ordered. Immediately, the men began to follow his orders. About 6 men struggled to get up. The remaining 4 were distributed between pairs of the others. All the while, overdramatic moans and shrieks of pain sounded behind them as the girl rolled around, proclaiming her imagined wound, and forthcoming death. Ryna ignored them, instead leading the procession back to the infirmary. "I am able to walk, just so you know," Sensara said quietly in his arms. Despite her words, she snuggled into his chest, grateful for his warmth. "I am not letting you down until I am sure you aren't going to run off and do something stupid," Ryna chided. She momentarily looked dejected before recovering. "They told me you were hurt! I couldn't just ignore it!" she exclaimed. "It would take the entire school body plus most of this planet's defences to even scratch me--" "She hit you without any help--" "--except when I'm distracted by saving your retarded ass," Ryna said. His voice was steady, but Sensara felt his arms trembling underneath her. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get in the way," Sensara said meekly, trying to gain forgiveness. "I'm taking you home, it isn't safe for you here right now." Ryna stated. "Grandfather will not be happy if I skip school!" she exclaimed, fearful of her grandfather's wrath. "You just almost lost your life, and you are worried about what Gramps will say about me taking you home? Are you crazy?" Ryna asked disbelievingly. "No! I mean, yes, I was, but... I don't know!" she said, fumbling with her answer. Then it hit her. "What do you mean I almost died?" "Do you not remember the crazy knife-wielding girl who tried to kill you about, oh, 2 minutes ago?" Ryna asked, confused. "She... she... she was trying to kill m-me? I thought, I thought, I don't know what I thought, but, she tried to KILL me?" Sensara asked. "Did you get hit in the head?" Ryna asked, growing concerned. "NO! I-I just didn't realize... Oh my god!" she exclaimed, belatedly comprehending what had just happened. She erupted in tears. "Time:Freeze," Ryna thought. everything froze around him, but Sensara continued to cry. "That is strange, Time:Freeze!" She continued to sob, shaking badly. I forgot to mention, that when you are holding something, and you use the regular command, they are able to move as well. Carl boomed. "That is really helpful nowww," Ryna said sarcastically, without even thinking. The Unwitting Guardian Ch. 09A I apologize for the lateness... I would really appreciate it if you guys would leave comments with what you think about this chapter or the series as a whole. Thanks ever so much, Arraiga ________________________________ The next few days were truly hellish. Ryna and the Shining Fangs (which he unsuccessfully tried to rename several times) built up defenses throughout the 1st year hall, with the HQ located in the nurse's office. Their efforts took the shape of choke points and ambush spots being set up throughout the floor, with iron cut-off walls that forced anyone who encountered them to follow along the indicated path. With all the traps he and Ulgo had installed, Ryna was sure that they would be safe long enough to finish the training he had been putting the Shining Fangs through Whenever he had been able, Ryna made sure to bring fresh food and water to Sensara, despite the fact that their refrigerator was full in their dorm. He made sure to keep time frozen though, for fear of both her wrath and that he would crack and let her out if he heard her voice. It had been nearly impossible for him to lock her in the room the first time, and trying to do it again would just tear him up inside. "This is for her protection," he thought after one of the food drop-offs, "so why does it feel so wrong?" About 2 weeks into the preparations for the anticipated war with the upperclassmen, Ryna received an urgent summons to Iures' office near the end of the day. I think this meeting is not going to end well for us Carl warned after Ryna had read the summons. "Relax Carl, Gramps probably just wants to know why we're building crazy mazes and whatnot in the hallways. Admittedly, it does seem really strange, but we have a good reason," Ryna said. He had long since told his classmates about Carl's existence, and they didn't regard him as crazy whenever he seemed to be talking to himself anymore. Even still, I don't like it. I have survived for ten thousand years based off of my intuition-- "--You have been inside of my ancestor for 10,000 years, and our intuition and abilities have kept us alive," Ryna corrected. He decided not to pause Ulodny, in all its beautiful colors and buildings, for the trip to Iures' office. It wasn't a long walk, and he was admitted by the receptionist immediately upon his arrival. But as the elevator's doors opened, a look of mild surprise flashed across his face. "Well, this is a surprise," he said, looking around the room. Sitting in the conference room that fills the first part of Iures' suite were prominent members of all three of the other years. "Look at the little troublemaker first year! All alone, with no friends!" one of the guys sitting at the table declared as Ryna walked in. Ryna recognized him as a third year student, but couldn't quite remember his name. "Hush Leo!" Iures said from the far end of the table, "Ryna ma' boy, this here is an assembly of all of the two highest ranked students from each year. From the second years, we have Humboldt and Ralor. From the third year we have Leo and Susana. And finally, from the fourth year, we have Markan and Natalie. I'm sure you all recognize Ryna here?" A collective "Yes," rose from the group. Ryna took one of the two available seats near the end of the table closer to the elevator. Well, this is a fine predicament you have here Ryna. Everyone here except for those two of the oldest year bear some anger toward you Carl announced, alerting Ryna to the possible danger he was in. "Well, I guess we should get started then," Iures said, sighing heavily, "Ryna, would you care to explain why a large group of people, who seem to be working for you are building battlements throughout the first year floor?" "Well, long story short, Sensara got kidnapped by one of the third year groups, and I retaliated by severely injuring several of the kidnappers, and rescuing Sensara--" "Bullshit! No one I know did anything of the sort!" Leo roared. Ryna didn't need Carl to see the sudden flicker of fear in his eyes. "--We expect that there will be a severe retribution for our actions, and are taking measures to protect ourselves from any threats," Ryna finished, trying hard to speak formally. "And where is Sensara now? She would be the easiest method to unveil the truth, would she not?" One of the fourth years, Markan, asked. "Yeah, she would be, but I am not risking her again, so I put her somewhere safe, and she isn't gonna leave there until I am certain she will be safe," Ryna said flatly. In the corner of his eye, he say Iures nod in approval, but the rest of the group was not quite as nice. "I think he is hiding her because he doesn't want her to reveal that he just attacked the third years without any provocation!" Humboldt declared. Ryna looked at him for a second before he recognized him as the man whose gang he had obliterated before he had found Sensara. "Clearly Ryna is not willing to move on his position. However, as he said, when he is convinced that she will be safe, he will bring her out of wherever she is. In order to meet that requirement, why don't we make some sort of peace treaty?" Iures suggested, pulling out a piece of official-looking paper. "Gramps, I get this weird vibe that this was your plan for the whole time," Ryna remarked, bringing a grin to the old man's face. The peace treaty was not particularly complicated: Ryna was to dismantle his defenses, and bring in Sensara to explain what had happened. In return, there was a complete guarantee that she would be safe, and that there would be no retaliatory action by any other year, and no punishment from the school until the truth was ascertained. Every person present signed without hesitation except for Leo, who hesitated for a fraction of a second before he gave his signature to the paper. Just as Ryna turned to go, Iures spoke up again. "If there is any retaliatory action, let's say there is just for arguments sake, I will leave it up to the victim or victims to decide what to do then. I hope there will be a more diplomatic solution this time," That just left Ryna to let Sensara out of the room, and somehow survive the process. Which is exactly what he spent the walk to the dorm trying to figure out, and he wasn't having much luck. He arrived at the door with the solid plan to just throw himself at her knees and beg forgiveness, which, he reasoned, would delay her reaction long enough for him to get inside, which would then prevent anyone else from hearing his dying screams. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be I guess. Locking the girl you love up in a room for two weeks is never a good idea, just as future reference, Ryna," he thought as he began to enter the password he had set on the door. Blood pounded through his ears as it slid open, revealing an empty bedroom. "Hello? Sensara? You here?" Ryna exclaimed, panic rising in his voice. He entered slowly, looking for any sign of his girlfriend. He searched both the kitchen and the bedroom and didn't find her. He walked back into the bedroom and began to inspect the windows for any signs of breakage, figuring that, if someone was going to try to take her, they would try it at night when she was sleeping. However, the lack of any signs of breakage sent Ryna's heart plummeting. He began to shout her name, and his shouts devolved into wails when no response came for several minutes. In despair, he threw himself face-down on the bed, wracking his brain for any way that she could have been abducted, and where she could be. In the depths of his despair, he failed to hear the bathroom door open, and a humming, naked Sensara walk out. Her eyes lit up, but her expression became hard, demanding a full apology. She managed to get his attention cy clearing her throat loudly. He looked up at her disbelievingly at first, but then a heartwarming look of complete relief and happiness flooded him. He practically flew up to grab her. "Sensara, I am so so so so so soooo sorry about leaving you in here. I missed you so badly, I couldn't stand it, " he said, apologizing. Instead of replying, she gave him a "there-better-be-more-than-that" look. "You do realize just how pissed I am at you, right?" she said, her tone dangerous. Ryna caught the tone, and pulled her into his arms. "I love you, I love you, and I know it will be hard for you to forgive me, and I promise I won't ever do it again," Ryna whispered into her ear. Suddenly he pushed himself away from her, "I would understand if you don't forgive me, or even break up with me. locking you in here was terrible! And I never should have done it, but seeing you get hurt would have killed me, so I overreacted... a little," A little?! You locked me in here for TWO WEEKS!! I oughta dump you--" "I'll leave then," Ryna said dejectedly. Crestfallen, he began to walk toward the door, but Sensara caught his arm. "--but Ryna, I won't ever leave you, I love you! And I get why you did it, I probably would have done the same thing if I were you," she said. Ryna's entire being lifted instantly, and Sensara lifted a hand to gently caress his cheek, "I forgive you, on one condition," "What is it?" Ryna asked, wrapping his arms around her as if to prevent her from ever leaving his side again. The pure, unadulterated elation he felt at being forgiven for what he had done began to seep through his face until it seemed as though her were glowing with happiness. "You have to be completely mine for the rest of the school year. No ifs ands or buts about it," she said, putting her arms on his shoulders. "Hmmm... I dunno," Ryna said jokingly. He had quickly recovered from the torrent of emotions that had flooded through him just moments before. "That is my first command from the last promise you made me, so deal with it," she said, the look on her face not reflecting her stern tone. "Why do I get the feeling that this isn't going to be as romantic as you made it sound?" Ryna asked sarcastically. Sensara ignored him and nestled her head on his shoulder. after a few minutes of silence, Sensara spoke again, but in a much softer voice. "I was so lonely without you here with me," she murmured. "I missed you too, I couldn't take it anymore. Even if Gramps hadn't called the meeting, I was going to come see you soon," Ryna admitted. They made their way to the dorm's couch and sat down, letting Sensara snuggle up next to him even further. "Grandfather had to make you come see me? Is that true?" Sensara asked, alarmed at the possibility that she wasn't leaving. "No, he called the meeting to discuss the defenses we have built around the first year floor. Then we signed a treaty between years to insure protection from any kidnappings or fights. That's why I have decided it was safe for you to leave here. But I was going to come see you anyway," Ryna explained. "There was a treaty? Really? Wow, Grandfather really went old-school on that one," Sensara chuckled. Ryna, however, was preoccupied with something else. "I don't want to ruin our romantic reunion or anything, but I haven't so much as touched you for two weeks. I am dying, like, for real," Ryna whispered into her ear as he wandered downward, kissing her neck. "Mmm, I haven't even seen you, and nothing in here feels as good inside me as you do, so how do you think I felt?" she replied, moving so that more of her neck was exposed to his touch. "I don't suppose you tested that, did you?" Ryna asked, laughing. Sensara blushed fiercely, and playfully punched him in the stomach. "Maybe I did. A girl has to get off somehow," she said indignantly. "Great, now the room is going to smell like pussy for the next few days," he said sarcastically. Before she could answer though, he leaned past her neck and kissed her. Filled with passion and hunger, Sensara quickly melted, letting Ryna dominate the kiss. But Ryna wasn't satisfied with just the kiss. His hands worked their way down her naked body in between her legs. Immediately, he went to work, teasing her clit with one finger, while rimming her pussy's lips with another. A third finger was employed to thrust into her womanhood, earning a moan from Sensara. Sensara's hands were also busy; busy removing her boyfriend's belt and pants. Needless to say, they were off quickly, and her hands moved to their true prize. Both of them were easily aroused after the weeks apart. "Ryna, now," Sensara demanded. Ryna wasted no time. He leaned her back on the couch and spread her legs. In one thrust, he entered all the way to the base of his cock, provoking an orgasmic scream from Sensara. "Oh, someone was really looking forward to when I came back," Ryna teased, smirking. "Shut... up..." Sensara managed to get out while she came down from her orgasm. Ryna began to thrust again, each one earning moans and lusty growls from Sensara. "More... more! Fuck me harder Ryna!" she exclaimed. She began to grind up and down through his thrusts, desperate to find release again. It came quickly. The weeks she had been without him had made her very sensitive, and it didn't take long for Ryna to realize it and use it. "Just like this?" Ryna asked teasingly while he adjusted himself so he could thrust deeper into her. Her cries reached a higher pitch than Ryna had thought she was capable of, bringing a smile to his face. Her pussy tightened as she flew into another orgasm. "AHHH!! YES RYNA!" she screamed, her eyes watering from the pleasure. He leaned into another kiss, playful this time. He pecked lightly at her lips, occasionally catching one in between his. Her whole body felt warm and loved, and she absent-mindedly wrapped her legs around his back. "Sensara! I'm coming!" Ryna panted. A little squeeze in her pussy and her legs, and he knew what she wanted. He erupted inside her, coating her pussy walls with his spunk. She threw her head back in pleasure, and let out a long moan. It was a little while before Sensara realized that her legs were still holding Ryna secure, making him unable to pull out. She flushed, then quickly let him free. He grinned teasingly, then got up to put on his pajamas. "There is nothing like the feeling of wearing warm flannel pants," he remarked as he pulled them up over a fresh pair of boxers. "Oh? I thought I felt the best." Sensara teased. "You feel good in different ways," Ryna replied. He sat back down on the couch next to her, and pulled her into his lap. "Which would you prefer then: me, or flannel pajamas?" she asked, shifting into a comfortable position. "Well... I have known these pants a lot longer than I have known you. You could say that we're old pals," Ryna joked, kissing her forehead. "So the pajamas then," Sensara said, raising an eyebrow at her lover. "I mean, I've got history with these PJ's. We've been through thick and thin together!" Ryna exclaimed, rubbing the pants affectionately. "Really? What in the world have you gone through with PJ's on?" Sensara questioned. "From the time I got here, and I saw these in the campus store window, I knew that they would be on me eventually. So I struggled at my part time job as a lemonade stand worker, selling like a fiend so that I could afford these beautiful pants. Then I would go and talk to them every night while you were asleep, telling them that we would be together soon," Ryna explained. "I don't want to believe you, but it seems like something you would do," Sensara said, trying to figure out if he was telling the truth. She was pretty sure that he wasn't but the absolute adoration he seemed to feel for the pants, judging by the way he kept stroking them, it was entirely possible that he actually did that. "Nah, most of that I just made up," Ryna said, shifting his gaze from the pants to Sensara. "Most of it?" Sensara asked, her curiosity piqued. I actually did eye it for weeks. But there was no lemonade stand, or talking to them in the middle of the night," Ryna admitted. "What made you buy them all of a sudden?" Sensara asked. "Hahaha, well, its a funny story actually," Ryna began awkwardly. Sensara knew something was up. "Is it? Let me hear it then," she said, putting fake impatience in her voice. "Well, during one of my food drops, I happened to notice that your cred-card was just sitting in the open on the bed, so I picked it up to put it back in your purse. Then I remembered these babies, and I was like 'It must be done', and bought them," Ryna said, gently stroking her hair, preemptively trying to calm her down. Instead, she just nodded. "I see, and how much were they?" she asked, a devilish glint coming into her eyes. "Uh-oh" Ryna thought, "Um, about 12 bucks, if I remember right," "Hmmm. And how much lemonade do you think would you have to make to recover my 12 bucks?" she asked, sounding halfway between teasing and dangerous. "Umm, not that much. Why do you ask?" Ryna queried. He already knew pretty much what she was thinking, but he asked anyway just to play along. "See, my thinking here is that you could work a lemonade stand on campus for the next weekend or so; however long it takes you to make 12 bucks back for me," she explained, grinning evilly. "That sounds like a great plan, but wouldn't you rather that I payed it off with my body instead," Ryna suggested, doing his best to keep from laughing. "Trust me, I am going to have my way with you for the rest of the year, there is no need for you to pay anything back with your body," she said, resting her head on his chest. "No way at all?" he asked. "None," "I guess I have to start on Saturday then," Ryna sighed. He picked her up princess-style, "Well sweetheart, I've had a long day, so I'ma go hit the sack," "I haven't done much today, thanks to someone's paranoid tendencies, but I am rather tired as well. Cumming three times is tough on a girl, you know," Sensara teased. They were both in bed for a while before Sensara remembered something. "Ryna," she said quietly. She saw him stir slightly, and decided that he was awake enough. "I love you," she said, snuggling against his back. "Yeah, I love you too," Ryna mumbled. The next day, they walked to school together, and, with their usual parting kiss, made their way to their respective classrooms. Ryna was greeted with raucous applause and cheering upon his arrival into the classroom. "Hey guys, what's up?" Ryna asked, slightly confused. "Is it my birthday? No. My anniversary? I hope not or Sensara would have killed me. A school holiday? Nope, or I wouldn't be here. Maybe they finished the defensive battlements. It is gonna suck to take those down after 2 weeks of work." Ryna thought, waiting for the applause to die down. "Boss! We thought you were a goner!" one of them shouted. "Yeah, when you never came back after the summons, we thought they might've put ya' on death row or something!" another one cried. "Haha, nah, I just went to visit Sensara afterwards. Sorry guys, didn't know you wold worry so much," Ryna said apologetically. "So what was it about?" they asked, almost entirely in unison. "I mean, it was supposed to be top secret but..." Ryna said, pretending like he wasn't going to spill. "But boss, we won't tell anyone!" they exclaimed. "Alright, but only cuz' I have absolute faith in your ability to keep secrets," Ryna said, dragging it out as long as he could. "Uh-huh boss, we can keep secrets, for sure," they affirmed. "Basically, it all came down to a showdown between me and the 3rd year boss," Ryna exaggerated, "In the end, I forced him and the other year bosses to sign a treaty that said they wouldn't touch Sensara or us," "Wow boss, you're so cool!" they cheered. "Honestly here, these guys sound like frickin' 7-year olds, but whatever, as long as they're happy," Ryna thought, shaking his head and laughing.
