She sat up as she placed her hand on her heart. The first thought that entered her mind was that she was glad that the walls were thick enough so the neighbors on her floor of her apartment complex would not hear her. That very minute, her alarm went off. She turned it off before getting out of bed. She went into the kitchen and started fixing some coffee. While it prepared itself, Galeena went and took a shower. The warm water calmed her down. After getting out, she wrapped her hair in a towel, and put on her robe. She went back into the kitchen and had her coffee. While she was doing this, she thought about her dream. This time, it felt real, although it wasn't. Did this man even existed? If he did, where was he from? Why was she even dreaming of him? She continued to think about her mystery man as she prepared for the day. It took her another 30 minutes to dry her hair and got dressed. She was eating cereal when she heard the phone ring. Now who would be calling her at 8:00 in the morning? She got up and picked up the phone. "Hello?" Galeena answered. "Good morning child. Did I wake you up?" replied a woman's elderly voice. Galeena smiled. It was her maternal grandmother, Tess Sorain. She had raised her when her parents died in an automobile accident. It happened while they were on their way to pick her up from camp. It was raining that day, and a deer had jumped onto the road. They tried to avoid it, but they lost control. Their suburban tumbled down into a ditch and hit a tree. Galeena had a feeling that something was wrong, but she never thought her parents died while she'd been waiting anxiously for them. She ended up spending another night at the campsite. The following day, the head councilor called her parents' house, cell phones, and their pagers, but got no response. He contacted her grandmother, who was the only relative in the area. Her other relatives were too far away at the time. After Tess picked up Galeena, she stayed with her at Galeena's home. It had been a week before they founded her parents' bodies. Galeena, who had been 10 at the time, was never the same. She was terribly close to her parents for she was their only child. She never talked or show any emotion for a whole year. Then one day, she had a complete turnaround, and became cheerful and fun-loving again. During that time, it was decided that Galeena lived with Tess since she had a good effect on Galeena. Originally, the people she was supposed to live with was her father's older brother and his wife. But because they moved many times, all agreed that Galeena was too fragile to be put in that kind of situation. It was the best thing that happened to her. She loved her grandma dearly. "No Granny. You didn't wake me up." replied the 20 year-old. "That's good. I just wanted to apologize to you, Leena. I'd love to come to your graduation, but my old bones won't let me." explained Tess. "That's okay Gran. It's too long of a distance for you to travel anyway." Galeena tried to hide her disappointment. Galeena was going to a major university in California while her grandmother lived in New Hampshire. Galeena was one of the youngest graduates there. When she was young, her skills excelled and she was labeled 'gifted'. During her senior year in high school she received a major scholarship from one of the best artistic universities in the nation. With the support of her family, especially Tess, she attended and majored in art. "Well Gran, I have to let you go." said Galeena. "All right dearie. Don't worry too much about me okay? I'll be at your graduation, just in spirit though okay? Take care and I'll see you soon." After Galeena hanged up, she finished getting ready. When Tess hanged up, she went back to cleaning the dishes. The elderly woman had once been a beautiful woman. Tess's hair use to be white blonde, but now it was a silvery gray. Her violet eyes were now duller. She had another reason why she couldn't attend Galeena's graduation. She was dying and traveling would only consume more of her energy. It was precious energy she needed to do what had to be done. She still had time to do the things she needed to do, but not much. She also prayed that Galeena would forgive her for not telling her everything. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Torrence flew on his dragon, Cerulos, back to his home. Next to him was Tidus on his dragon, Skyro. All water dragons were either blue, sea green, teal, or turquoise. Cerulos was blue and Skyro was sea green. They were flying with a legion of dragoons and dragons. When Torrence heard of his father and brother's death, he wasted no time in getting ready to leave. Right now they were crossing the border between the Wind Dragon Clan and the Water Dragon Clan. Dawn was on the horizon. Tidus told Torrence that a messenger arrived to deliver the tragic message. Torrence grilled the messenger with questions. Apparently, King Tristian and his eldest son, Niron, went flying with their dragon partners, but never returned. After several hours, a search party went out to look for them. They found both men and dragons dead. It was obvious they were slain, but by whom? Few started wondering if it was someone from the Fire Dragon Clan because the corpses were founded near their border. Now wasn't the time to figure that out. As soon as Torrence arrived home, they would hold the burial ceremony for his father and brother and the dragons, and then he would be appointed the new ruler. Torrence's partner, Cerulos, had really taken it hard for it was his father and brother who were killed. He was quiet right now as well as Torrence. Both Tidus and Skyro admired the two for their control on their emotions. Even though they were quiet, both could tell that the two were furious. It was their eyes. Even with the little sunlight, they saw emotions role over their eyes. Tidus knew that there would had been hell to pay for whomever did this atrocity. "We'll be there soon Torrence." Tidus informed him. Torrence nodded. His mind and heart was in a quandary at the moment. All he wanted to do was holler in anguish. He was also wishing that someone was there to hold him. His mother used to, but she wasn't here anymore. Queen Coreen died giving birth to his youngest sister, Meridian. He'd been 8 at the time. Ever since then, he shown a gruff and tough exterior. Now he felt so alone. He needed someone. He needed . . .her. He wished she was here to comfort him, but he didn't know if she was real or not. He needed to escape before he took his father's place as the ruler of the Water Dragon Clan. Where was the question. A couple hours later, Torrence arrived in the capital, Cerulean. He and his group landed in the great castle courtyard, which was large enough large enough to hold two castles side-by-side. "It seems that the entire clan is here." replied Tidus. For the first time in hours, Torrence grinned. Indeed, the courtyard as well as the rest of the area was filled dragons and people. When Torrence dismounted, the rest of his legion dismounted as well. The first to greet the group was Torrence's family. Leading the group was Torrence's sister, Lagina, and her husband, Searon. Brother and sister embraced. When Torrence drew back, he could see that his sister was doing all she could not to cry. After shaking Searon's hand, Torrence asked, "Where are your kids?" "They're home asleep still." replied Lagina. Lagina, who was 23, was the mother of 5 children, three of which were triplets. Lagina was the female image of Torrence, only her eyes were a lighter shade of green. Next to greet him was his brother's widow, Daphene. Ever since Niron and Daphene got married, they tried to have children. They just celebrated their 5th Anniversary a month ago when Daphene discovered she'd been with child. The entire clan rejoiced that day. Daphene was radiant that day, but now as she approached Torrence; her beautiful sea blue eyes were swollen and her skin was so pale that it alarmed him. "Daphene, you should be resting. Niron wouldn't have liked it if you got ill." commented Torrence as gently as he could as he embraced her and smoothes out her light brown hair. Daphene was known to be an emotional person, but she managed to show some courage. It was that spirit that drawn Niron to her. The two were childhood friends and grown up loving each other. Torrence was very proud of her at that moment for trying not to show how devastated she was. Daphene wiped her eyes as she withdrew. "Yes, I know. I just wanted to see you first." Daphene answered. Anyone one up close could see how drained she was. And being pregnant, it was especially critical that she not strain herself. "Lagina? Can you escort her back to the palace?" asked Torrence. Lagina nodded before taking Daphene back to the castle. Last to greet Torrence was 18 year-old Meridian. Normally, she'd threw herself into his embrace, but this time she walked up to him and hugged him. Even though she was quiet, Torrence saw she was affected the most. Meridian looked just like their late mother. Her sapphire blue eyes now looked black with sorrow and despair. She hadn't bothered to mess with her curly turquoise hair which was in a riot around her face. Torrence also noticed that she was trembling, and she was trying to hide it. Since she was the youngest, Tristian had doted on her. Meridian was the exact opposite of Lagina. Where Lagina was docile, Meridian was wild. Meridian was ill-tempered, where Lagina was patient. Meridian preferred fighting and outdoor activities whereas Lagina enjoyed the arts and music, and more soothing indoor activities. Meridian was the closest to their father than Niron, Torrence, or Lagina. This was why Torrence saw that Meridian was the most devastated. My goodness, she wasn't even smiling, and she was always smiling! Even when times got tough, she was always the one who tried to cheer everyone up. Right now she looked crushed, even though she was trying not to show it. When she drew back, she asked, "How was the meeting?" Torrence smiled at her. Leave it to Meridian to talk about something else. "It went well, Meridian. Thank you. I need to meet with the council now, okay?" replied Torrence. Meridian nodded before letting him pass. The crowd went back to their normal activities. Torrence walked through the castle doors. The council was waiting for him inside. Normally Torrence would had met with them in the Council chamber, but this wasn't a normal situation so the council stood in the main parlor of the palace. The head council was a teal colored dragon named Tealor. With him were 7 more council members. Two of them were also dragons. When Torrence and his family reached them, they bowed to show respect. "You-all may rise." said Tealor. They all did. "I came as soon as I heard the news." Torrence replied. "Let me be the first to tell you and your family that the council's sorry for your loses. Your father and brother were good men as well as their partners. Now we must get ready for the funerals and coronation." suggested Tealor. "May I have a word with young Torrence first Sir Tealor?" ask someone. Everyone turned to see Ankor appear from another room. Ankor looked like he was in his 50's when in fact he was over 5,000 years old. The sorcerer was bald on the top of his head, but had silver hair clinging to the sides and back. Whenever he was in the different clans, he wore their colors so he was wearing blue robes. Everyone in the parlor bowed when they saw him. The elderly man walked right up to Torrence before giving his permission for them to rise. After they all did, Ankor said to Torrence, "Well my boy, I can see that you've finally grown up." The last time Ankor came to his home, Torrence was 20. Now he was 26. "It seems I have." grinned Torrence. "You'll make a splendid ruler, husband, and father . . .when the time comes of course." laughed Ankor. He turned to the council. "If you would be so kind councilmen, I'd like to borrow Torrence for awhile." "You can speak to him anytime you want, Lord Ankor." commented an elderly councilwoman called Ravine. "Thank-you. Shall we my boy?" Torrence followed Ankor up the stairs in the parlor as the others in the room go back to make preparations. Like all palaces in the clans, there was always a room reserved for only Ankor whenever he visited. So Ankor headed toward his quarters with Torrence following him. When they entered Ankor's room, Ankor walked over to the hearth in the fireplace and magically lit it with his staff before sitting down. "Come and sit down. I am sure you have a lot on your mind right now." insisted Ankor as he gestured to the chair next to his own. Torrence obeyed. "I do have a lot on my mind. Ankor, I've been having this recurring dream now for over a year. I keep dreaming of this strange world . . ." started Torrence as he told Ankor about the world, the lady, and then the ending of his last dream. As Ankor listened, he thought about what Torrence told him. So the lad was dreaming of Earth. Ankor had the ability to travel there. He'd been going there off and on throughout the centuries. And the woman Torrence described sounded like someone else he knew from Earth: Galeena Stellar. Now there was a woman for Torrence. The last time he saw her would had been several years ago, Earth time. The two different worlds had different timelines. A day in Fraidel equaled four weeks on Earth. And at that time when Ankor saw Galeena she was still attending a university. He saw her artworks. They were masterpieces. She had in fact had already sold several pieces. Galeena also had a brilliant and strong mind. And from the way Torrence described her, Ankor could tell that the man was infatuated with her. Well, who would not be? Galeena was one of the loveliest ladies he'd known. Ankor didn't show it, but he was thrilled with the possibility that Torrence had found his mate. He just hoped that Galeena would want to give up her life on Earth and come live with Torrence on Fraidel. When Torrence described the end of his last dream, Ankor became worried. Usually dreams were messages of the future. His gut was telling him that Torrence and Galeena would have their troubles, and he was never wrong with his instincts. When Torrence finished his explanation, Ankor rose and replied, "I can help you out on several accounts, Torrence. For one thing, both the world and the lady are real." "They are?!" demanded Torrence as he jumped out his chair so sudden, that it crashed onto the floor. Torrence picked the chair up and apologized. Ankor chuckled. "Indeed. The world you just described is called Earth." explained Ankor before shooting a ball of light from his staff to a transparent glass ball. The ball lit up and shown images of Earth from it. "Yes, that's it." answered Torrence in awe. Ankor grinned before changing the images to show Galeena. "I presume that this is the one from your dreams." For the first time in Torrence's life, he's rendered speechless. Even his mouth gaped open. Ankor wanted to laugh. Torrence couldn't believe what he was seeing. She was real! Truly real! Torrence eventually came to his senses. "Who is she?" "Her name is Galeena Stellar. She lives on Earth. I've known her for awhile now. If my memory served me right, she should be 20 years-old. Would you like to meet her?" "Yes, of course." Torrence replied without thinking. He wanted to do more than meet her though. He wanted to hold her, kiss her, and claim her. That's when a thought entered his mind. "She's not claimed is she?" On Fraidel, claimed meant that someone was betrothed to someone. What Torrence said made Ankor think. That's when he remembered asking Galeena a similar question. She told him no, and that she didn't want to get involved with anyone until she graduated. If he remembered right, he graduation should happened any day now. "No I don't think she is." Torrence sighed in relief. "But there are some complications, Torrence. For one thing, you have to get permission from the council to go to this world. Don't worry about how to get there for I'll take you. But you will have to worry about adapting to Earth. People's lifestyles, trends, and customs are so much different from Fraidel's. Also, the way you go about claiming Galeena is different as well. I will help you on both matters, but ultimately, it'll be up to you to reach your goal. Now, are you still willing to do this?" Torrence looked at Galeena's image and answered seriously, "Yes, I am." "Good. Now let's talk to the council after breakfast." Inside, he was both excited and worried. Excited that Torrence was going to meet Galeena. Worried if Torrence was not only going to be able to adapt to Earth, but be able to claim Galeena. He would be patient and confident though. Torrence could be very stubborn at times. But this wouldn't be easy that was a sure thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Little did both Ankor or Torrence knew, Galeena was thinking about Torrence. Right now, she was in her painting class. She had week 'til graduation and she was finishing the last of her series of artwork. Her theme was The Elements. She was painting her water theme. Anyone from the Water Dragon Clan would had been shock to see that she was painting Torrence and Cerulos. She felt compelled to do her dream man and she had dreamt of him riding a magnificent blue dragon, which happened to be Cerulos. She was already halfway done. When she was painting she got lost into her work and would even skip a meal if she wasn't careful. She called this painting Water Guardian. All her works in The Elements series consisted of a dragon and a person. Her water one was her last. She already did paintings of fire, earth, wind, ice, gold, light, and dark. And all of them were a good 4 feet tall and 2 feet wide. She'd done bigger though. Galeena was so into working on Torrence's face that she didn't see her instructor come up or several other students in her Advanced Painting IV class. "Wow Galeena! That's one hunk of a man! Who is he?" demanded a girl with spiky green-dyed hair. Her name was Bianca, but she hated that name so everyone, including their instructor, Mrs. Kenya Clemens, called her Luna cause she was a Wiccan. Galeena apparently didn't hear her cause she continued working. "Ahem! Earth to Galeena!!" Galeena turned, "I am sorry. What did you say?" "Gees, Leena, you really need to come back to Earth sometimes. I asked who that guy was." groaned Luna. Galeena couldn't hide her blush. "Uh, I am afraid he's not real. He's the guy I've been dreaming about for awhile now." Several of the students laughed. "I bet those dreams were good too." teased a tall stylish dark brown haired guy named Connor. Anyone could tell that Connor was gay by the way he dressed and talked, but his friends never had a dull time around him. Connor also liked to tease his friends too. Galeena and Connor actually grew up together and it was by accident that they went to the same university. "Yes, they were good." "Don't listen to them Leena. They're just envious cause you're the best artist here." commented a foreign exchange student from Chile, named Rosalita. "Hey!" exclaimed both Luna and Connor. "Hehe, it's true." "All right you three get back to work. You're embarrassing Galeena." pointed out Mrs. Clemens. "It's okay Mrs. Clemens." replied Galeena, although she was still blushing. "Galeena, you've been my student for how long and you still call me Mrs. Clemens. Please call me Kenya like everyone else here." sighed Mrs. Clemens. "Sorry . . Kenya . . I guess I'll never get use to it." Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 02 "But you're artwork is lovely Galeena. I feel sad knowing you're going to be leaving us soon." "Me too. But I miss my grandmother. I'll visit though someday." Galeena didn't make that a promise though because something told her that a change was coming. She just wish she knew what it was. Galeena refocused on her painting. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After Torrence and Ankor ate breakfast with the rest of Torrence's family, the two headed toward the council's room. They were centered in the middle of the room on a semi-circular dais. Tealor sat in the middle with the dragon council members on his left and the human council members on his right. The humans also sat with a table in front of them. Both Torrence and Ankor bowed to them as well as the council. "Torrence, now that you are here, we'll get down to business. Since you are to be our next ruler, I thought we should have the burying ceremony tomorrow and your coronation the day after that." suggested Tealor. "Yes sir. Council, can I make a request? After the coronation, I'd like some time by myself and take a trip. I only want Ankor to accompany me." requested Torrence. "I am not quite sure that's a good idea Torrence. We know you are capable of defending yourself, but so were your brother and father and now . . .well, let's just say we can't manage the thought of anything happening to you." "I understand your concern, Sir Tealor, but I ask this of you because I need to find common ground and a great distraction so I perform to the best of my ability as your ruler. Right now I have too many things on my mind to stay focus." "I see. Where do you plan to go than?" "Well, as you know there are other worlds out there. Ankor has informed me that you do know about Earth. I wish to go there." "Now why would you want to go there?" asked a female councilwoman named Azulla. Ankor stepped forward before Torrence could reply. "I've told Torrence about Earth and he has a great interest in it. I also agree that Torrence needs a distraction, and Earth will provide plenty of them." The council thought and discussed it with each other before looking back at Torrence and Ankor. "We will allow you to take this trip, but you must return by the next full moon Earth Time." Tealor told them. "Hm, that'll give us two weeks from the day after tomorrow." mentioned Ankor. "Thank-you councilmen. I will return safely." smiled Torrence. The council looked relieved to see Torrence smile. "We shall leave the night of the coronation. I need a full moon for the journey to work." added Ankor. "Very well than. You are dismissed and return safely." said Tealor. As Torrence and Ankor left the room and head to tell Torrence's family, they heard thundering sounds. Both smiled in recognition before seeing a young dragon sprinting towards them. The dragon suddenly leaped and knocked down Torrence. "You're back! You're back!" the dragon said with glee. Torrence laughed in the first time in ages. "Verdius! You silly hatchling! Get up!" stomped Ankor. The young sea green dragon, who was only seven feet tall, got up immediately and said, "Hatchling! I'm two hundred and seventy years old! I am nearly full grown!" In dragon years, two hundred and seventy was eighteen years. Verdius was the younger brother of Skyro. "You still act like a hatchling though." murmured Ankor. "You're always mean to me!" "All right calm down, Verdius. Where have you been anyway?" asked Torrence. "I just got back from one of my flight trips. What's happened? When I left, everything was all right, but now everyone is acting like someone died!" "Someone did die. My father, Niron, and their partners are dead." Torrence was trying his hardest to keep his composure, but was struggling. Even Verdius could see that. "What?! I can't believe it!" "Tomorrow's the burial. Also, the next day I am going somewhere for awhile. I need a break before I become the ruler." "Oh! Can I come? Please?" "Not this time Verdius. Only Ankor is coming." "Aw man!" "Right now we're going to tell Torrence's family about this trip." replied Ankor. Torrence and Ankor walk out of the hall with Verdius following. Because his family was spread throughout the palace grounds, Torrence used servants to find them. They met in the one of the family rooms of the palace. "What is it that you wish to tell us, Torrence?" asked Lagina after she sat down in one of the cushioned chairs. Torrence was standing and looking into the fireplace before turning to his family. They were scattered throughout the room. Both Ankor, Verdius, and the family's partners were present also. "I am here to tell you that after my coronation, I am going on a trip. Only Ankor is accompanying me." Torrence stated. "But you just got back!" replied Meridian. "When's the coronation?" asked Searon. "The day after tomorrow." answered Torrence. "Where are you going?" asked Meridian. "I am going to another planet called Earth." "Earth?" exclaimed everyone else, except Ankor. "Why Earth? Why can't you stay here?" asked Meridian. Torrence grinned. Some of the real Meridian was back. She'd always asked questions. "Because Ankor told me about it and I wish to go there." Meridian frowned. She knew there was more to his answer, but she trusted him. One thing was for sure, once Torrence made up his mind, there's no stopping him. "You be careful than Torrence. We all trust your decisions." said Lagina. The others nodded in agreement. "Thank-you all." smiled Torrence with relief. Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 03 A/N: Sorry for taking so long to do Chapter 3 everyone but I've been in college and on top of that was suffering from Writer's block, but I finally managed to finish it. Thanks to those who'd been reading. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter III. Adapting to Earth On Fraidel, burials were either private or public. Royal burials were different. First, there was a private memorial service for the family, then the actual burial took place where the entire clan was invited. Also, each clan buried their dead in different manors. With the Water Dragon Clan, they lowered their human loved ones, who were encased in a water based casket, into the closest river to the bottom. The dragons were burned to ashes and then scattered onto the river. In all clans, it was customary for dragons to be cremated. What they did with the ashes was what distinguished the clans. So on the day of the burial, the late King Tristian and his son, Lord Niron, were lowered into the river. It was a quiet event like all burials. Only this time there was an air of anxiety as to who did this atrocity. After the burial was over, everyone went home. They got ready for the coronation. The next day, around midday, the coronation took place in the main courtyard. Even though the mood was lighter, the public was not as cheerful as they usually were at such occasions. Torrence stepped out into the courtyard. He was garbed in his finest. Since all rulers were Dragoons, Torrence wore his Dragoon formal attire which was a combination of dragon scale armor and robes. His clothing was a combination of blues and greens. What he didn't have was his sword with him. That's because he was going to receive his father's sword along with the Water scepter that had the Water Stone on it. This stone was one of the stones that originated from the Moonstone. After Torrence walked up to Ankor, he knelt before him on one knee. Ankor always presided over coronations and royal weddings in all clans. Ankor smiled gently at Torrence before turning to the servant who was carrying a cushioned pillow with the king's crown on it. Taking the crown, Ankor placed it on Torrence's head. The crown was made out of gold with sapphires and rare blue diamonds on it. Ankor handed Torrence the king's sword and Torrence slid it into his sheath. After that Torrence received the Water scepter from Ankor. Ankor announced Torrence as the leader of the Water Dragon Clan. Torrence was actually pretty young for a king cause in some clans, including Torrence's, male heirs didn't become rulers until they were thirty. If it was female, than it was twenty-five years. As soon as Torrence was introduced, he stood up and greeted his people as the humans cheered and the dragons roared. There was a feast afterwards. It was amazing how quickly the castle staff prepared it on such short notice. It didn't last too long after sundown. Just as the evening stars began to come out, Torrence headed up to his new chambers. The king's chamber had a parlor before opening up into the main bedroom. There were two other rooms connected to the main bedroom. These were the changing rooms; one for the king, and one for the queen. The bed probably took up a quarter of the main bedroom cause it was a four poster bed. Facing it was a large fireplace with two armchairs in front of it. When Torrence entered the chamber, he went into his changing room and the few servants there helped him out of his attire before Torrence dismissed them. He changed into more casual clothing before starting to get ready for his trip to Earth. Amongst the things he was bringing was several things for Galeena. He couldn't wait to meet her. Torrence looked up when he heard a knock on his door from the main parlor. "Come in." He was surprised to see Daphene come in. "Hello Daphene." he greeted with a smile. "Torrence, before you go, I'd like to give you something." She brought a hand from behind her back and held out a small box to Torrence. Torrence took it and opened it up. Inside was a ring. The band was made out of silver and it had a blue diamond on with two pearls on each side. Torrence recognized it immediately. The ring was given to the eldest son to give to his wife. "I can't take this Daphene. Niron gave this to you." "Because it's tradition. You are now king, Torrence. The ring goes to the eldest son. You are now the eldest. Besides, Niron gave me something far more precious than that ring. He gave me his heart and child. You should give this to the one you will marry. And . .seeing that ring on my finger will not help me move on. I want to try to remember the good times. So please, take it." Torrence nodded, "Very well Daphene. Are you sure?" "Yes. I do hope you find what you are looking for." Daphene told him whole-heartedly before tipping on her toes to kiss him on the cheek. She left him to his own thoughts. Torrence stood for a moment and looked at the tiny box. He thought about Galeena. He'd never thought about marriage before. He would have to now. Kings were expected to get married and start producing children as soon as possible so the line would continue. He hoped that Galeena would be able to come here. She had to, but Torrence knew he would never force her. Torrence certainly knew that she was the one. Although he only met her in dreams, he knew that there would be no other. Taking a deep breath, he put the tiny box with the rest of his stuff. Soon Ankor came in wearing very strange clothes. At least, Torrence thought they were strange. Ankor laughed at Torrence's expression. "This is considered normal on Earth, at least part of the Earth we're going." the mage said before looking at Torrence's clothes. "Just as I thought. I am going to have to change them, as well as the ones you're wearing. I am going to give you something to put them in too." commented Ankor before changing Torrence's clothes with his magic. Turning to Torrence he changed his attire. He was now wearing tanned colored pants, a brown belt, and forest green shirt. It felt pretty comfortable. "I'm going to change your hair as well. Where we are going, people don't generally have blue hair." added Ankor before changing the warrior's dark blue hair into dark brown. It was still long. Torrence looks at himself in the mirror. He looked different. He thought he looked good too. Ankor watched his reaction with amusement. "Oh! One more thing, you are going to need these things." said Ankor before handing Torrence some extra necessities. "I'll teach you about them while we're on Earth. Place the cards in here." instructed Ankor before giving him an object called a wallet. "It's called a wallet. You place it in your back pocket. It's that little patch on the rear of your trousers." he explained. Torrence did as Ankor instructed. "One last thing, a first name and a last are required. On Earth, I am Henry Ankor. You'll be Torrence Bronson. Most people who know you will address you by your first name. Others will address you by your last name by calling you Mr. Bronson. Now, any questions or comments?" asked Ankor. "Yes, this is not going to be easy." commented Torrence. Ankor laughed before they got his belongings and headed out. When the two make it outside, Torrence's family were waiting for them. They looked very surprised. Their dragon partners were there as well. "Is that you Torrence? You look different." commented Meridian. "This is only temporary. I will miss you all. I'll be back sooner than you think. Until then, Searon, you're in charge of the household, and Titus, you're in charge of the Dragoons." ordered Torrence. Both Searon and Titus nodded. Suddenly, Verdius sobbed and rushed over to Torrence before knocking him down. "Verdius!" growled both Skyro and Cerulos. Verdius reluctantly backed off. "I just don't want you to go." he said tearfully as Torrence got up. "I'll miss you too." replied Torrence. Everyone hugged him and bowed to Ankor before following them out. The moon was shining bright. Ankor wasted no time in getting started. He first casts a protective spell to not only protect Torrence and himself, but the others as well. Next he casts a barrier spell to separate them from Torrence's family. The wind picked up as Ankor cast the final spell. Suddenly, flashes of lightning strike down as the warrior and mage vanish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Galeena stood out on her balcony watching the sky when she noticed the change in the weather. Clouds started to roll in, the wind picked up, and she saw lightning in the distance. Something was happening. She could feel it. Galeena leaves the balcony and headed back to her apartment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Torrence felt a little shaken when he and Ankor arrived on Earth. Ankor laughed at how Torrence tried to keep his composure. The trip would not be easy for a beginner. "You did just fine, my boy. Come." the elderly man commanded affectionately. By then Torrence was able to regain himself. As he gathered his things, he looked ahead to see a mansion. "Is this your place?" he asked. "Yes, I've already notified the staff that we be arriving." explained Ankor. As they approached the place, Torrence saw several people waiting for them. He stopped when Ankor stopped. One man stepped forward and bowed before saying, "Welcome back sir. I trust your journey was safe?" He looked to be in his early fifties. His dirty blonde hair was silvered and well groomed. "Very well, Gerald. This here is Lord Torrence Bronson." introduced Ankor. "It's an honor to meet you sir. We were expecting you. Both of your chambers are ready." bowed Gerald. "Thank you Gerald. You are dismissed." said Ankor. Gerald and the other staff members bowed before leaving. Several men came forward and took Ankor and Torrence's belongings. "Don't worry Torrence, they'll take your things to your room. Come, let's talk in my study, then we'll sup." Ankor instructed Torrence before leading him into the house. Torrence looked around in wonder. He also noted that their was some similarities between this place and his home. For one there was artwork everywhere. One of them caught his eye. There was a portrait of a maiden petting a dragon next to her. The maiden was Galeena! "Aw, I see you've found Galeena's portrait." said Ankor as he came up. "Who did this?" asked Torrence in awe. "Galeena. She's an artist. Magnificent, isn't it?" "Words cannot describe it." Ankor chuckled. "I have several more of her pieces of work, but nothing as big as this one." he added. Torrence did not hear that last part. He's still memorized by Galeena's portrait. Finally, he shook himself out of his stupor. "I am sorry. I just never seen anything like this." "It's no trouble. Galeena gave this to me free of charge. But what she doesn't know is that I sent her an anonymous check for it." "Check?" "Oh I forgot. Checks are forms of currency here. Well, let's continue on." Ankor led him on down the hall. Ankor's taste was eclectic from medieval times to modern. And somehow everything came together. Ankor is careful not to display any Fraidel items. And his magical belongings were hidden elsewhere. Ankor's study is on the second floor. Once inside, Torrence instantly felt at home. The fireplace warmed up the room. Anyone can tell this place was a man's room with its solid and warm colors. There was a desk with a large armchair behind it. Two more armchairs were located in the back. And like all the other rooms, this one has a few pieces of art. Torrence and Ankor sit down in the two armchairs near the fireplace. "Now than. I think I should give you a brief summary of this planet, particularly this part of it. You know that Fraidel is divided into different clans right? Well . . ." Ankor told him a little bit about Earth, the country they're in, and the era. It is a lot of information for Torrence to take in and he finally told Ankor that. "Sorry lad. I was getting so caught up that I forgot how late it was. There's still more for you to know, but that can come tomorrow." said Ankor before rising. Torrence did the same and followed him out. Ankor led him to the other side of the house. "I figured this room would suit you best." Ankor replied before opening the door for Torrence. Torrence walked in. It certainly did suit him. The were navy blue. The wood was dark oak. The bed was a four poster one with black and dark blue coverings. The fireplace had intricate carvings on it. There were two dragons on the side holding up the top part of the fire place. There was a table near the bed with a wall mirror behind it and a chair in front of it. Another armchair was in the room too. Above the fireplace was a portrait of a blue dragon that reminded Torrence of Cerulos. Torrence sighed. He missed his partner deeply for the two never been apart since Torrence's birth. On Fraidel, a dragon was assigned to a person when he or she was born. Torrence continued to loot at the picture and realized it's another one of Galeena's portraits. Torrence turned back to Ankor. "Thank-you Ankor. It's perfect." he said. "Good. Your clothes and other belongings are in the closet. Good night." "Good night and thanks." Torrence bowed before Ankor left him alone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That night Torrence dreamt again. This time, he's on a beach. He recognized it for it was part of his clan's territory. It was sunset as the source of Fraidel's light, Mandras, was slowly sinking in the horizon. Torrence watched it before seeing something or someone. Torrence felt his heart beating faster when he noticed that it was Galeena. She was walking along the beach towards him. Once again, her shimmering hair cascaded down, flowing in the breeze. She's wearing a spaghetti strapped garment of pale blue that only went down to mid-thigh. Torrence was wearing the same thing he was sleeping in; a pair of dark blue boxers and a white muscle shirt. Also, his hair was still the same. He waited for Galeena to come up to him. "It's you. You look different, but it's you. Last time, your hair was a dark sapphire blue." Galeena replied. Torrence smiled, relieved she could see him. "I changed my appearance. Or rather, someone else did. Excuse me, but what is your name?" No bother telling her he knew her name, for she might question him. "I am Galeena. Who are you?" "Torrence. I must say Galeena, you're as lovely as ever." Torrence took her hand and kissed it. Galeena blushed and giggled. Oh, he was a charmer all right. There was no doubt of his desire for her too for his eyes were blazing and they held a possessive look in them. "Is this real? Can you really be here? Last time . . .it ended so quickly. What is happening here?" Galeena asked. "I am not all that sure love. But I do know this. I can feel you, hear you, see you, smell you . . ." Torrence answered before kissing her, ". . . Taste you. And I am going to take full advantage of it while I have the time." Torrence was still holding onto Galeena's hand when he pulled her to him and embraced her gently. He lowered his head until their lips were only inches apart. He traced her lips with the tip of his tongue before claiming them with his own lips. Galeena's hands were trapped in between their chests, but she managed to free them and wrapped her arms around his waist. Torrence finally coaxed Galeena into opening her mouth so his tongue could enter and mingle with hers. He savored it slowly and deeply. Her taste was addictive. Galeena never thought it could be like this. It was wonderful. Her arms tighten as her hands moved under his shirt to touch his skin. Her touch was driving him crazy. Driven by instinct, Torrence moved his hands to the straps of her garment and moved them both down before removing his mouth off of hers as he moved it along her silky skin and latched onto her neck. His hands also moved to her breasts and massage them. Galeena moaned in pleasure as she moved her neck a bit to give him more access. "You are the most enchanting woman I've ever met." Torrence whispered along her skin. Galeena was too distracted by his mouth to respond. Right now, his mouth was moving over her collar bone area. Galeena didn't know what he was doing to her. She never felt this way about anyone. Normally she would never let someone touch her this way. There was just something about this man that called to her. There was also a voice telling her that he was real. All thought left her when Torrence's mouth kissed one of her breasts. Apparently, he pulled her nightgown down and her chest was now exposed. Torrence loved her taste and reaction for Galeena pushed against him, eager for his kisses. After lavishing her breast, he moved his mouth to her other one. Galeena finally moved her hands to his head and rubbed her hands through his hair. Torrence kissed his way back up to her lips and kissed her with all his being. Galeena kissed him back just as thoroughly. She found herself being lowered to the ground. Galeena felt his lips leave her and she opened her eyes. Torrence was still there, only he's transparent. "No. . ." Galeena said but it's too late as Torrence vanished before her eyes. Suddenly, there's a sharp buzzing sound as Galeena found herself falling. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Galeena woke up to the sound of her alarm. Groaning, she got up and turned the alarm off. It was that dream again. Galeena felt a bit chilly before gasping. The top of her nightgown wasn't on her. Sprinting out of bed, Galeena ran to her bathroom and turned on the lights. Just like from her dream, Galeena's lips were swollen as well as her breasts. Also, there were red marks on her too. One on her neck, another on her collar bone, and one on her chest. She also smelled Torrence's scent on her. How was that possible? It was only dream or was it? Galeena was one of those people who believed anything was possible. Still, what was happening was confusing. "You're just going to have to worry about it later. You got a busy day ahead of you." Galeena told herself. Forcing her thoughts of the dream to the back of her mind, Galeena went back to her room to get ready. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Torrence woke up slowly. He sighed at the thought of the dream. He was really starting to wonder when dream would become reality. The need for Galeena was great, but Torrence would remain patient. As he got up, he noticed something. Galeena's scent was in the air. Looked like the dream was more real this time. He wondered if this had anything to do with them being on the same planet. Torrence remembered Ankor telling him how mysterious dreams could be. Speaking of Ankor, Torrence wondered if the man was awake. Suddenly, there's a knock at the door. "Come in." Torrence said. It turned out to be Gerald. "Good morning sir. I've come to inform you that breakfast is ready and it will be served in the dining room." he said. "Thank you Gerald." The elderly man bowed and left. Getting out of bed, Torrence went to his closet to get ready for the day. It took him nearly an hour to get ready for he was having such a hard time figuring out what to do. It reminded him how much he was out of his element here. But he managed. When he left his room, he was shown where the dining room was. Ankor was there. "Aw, good morning my boy. I see you took your time." he winked. "Yes, I will admit though I am going to need help concerning the bathroom." Torrence admitted as he sat down. He was a man of pride after all. It took him a lot to admit he needed help with something. Ankor chuckled. "Yes, a bit more complicated than what you're use to huh?" A bit was putting it lightly, Torrence thought. "So did you rest well?" Ankor asked. Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 03 Torrence almost blushed, but managed to stop himself. What was wrong with him? He never was the bashful type. "Yes I did. I dreamt of Galeena again. When I woke up this time, I could smell her." he explained. "Interesting. Seems like since you both are on the same world, things are more real." "When do you think I can meet Galeena, for real this time?" "Hehe eager to get stared now aren't you? Well, I was planning on calling Galeena today to see if we could meet up tomorrow. Last time I saw her, she wanted me to call her the next time was in town." Ankor didn't tell him how much Galeena meant to him. Ankor had never married, but at one time wished for marriage and children. Galeena was like a granddaughter to him. There was someone he had loved, but that was in the past. Ankor was jarred out of his thoughts when Torrence asked, "Sir, what do you mean by 'call' Galeena?" Ankor grinned. "In this time and age people use telephones to call or communicate with each other. There are different types of phones. Finish your breakfast and I'll explain more." Torrence looked in surprise that food was in front of him for he always noticed when the food arrived. He nearly sighed in relief to see familiar food and eating utensils. Ankor told him that while here he eats food that could found on Fraidel. After Torrence and Ankor ate, they went into the library. There Ankor told Torrence more about the history of the world and the USA. This time he gave a few more details. Once again, it was almost a little too much for Torrence, but he found himself fascinated by it. But not all of it he liked. It was a shame how most humans did not believe in magic or dragons or things he considered to be apart of everyday life in Fraidel. Ankor gave him the mystical history of Earth too, which was unknown to most humans. It was sad how people could fear and destroy what they saw as different. After several hours of learning history, Ankor gave him a tour of the mansion and the grounds it's on. Ankor encouraged Torrence to write down his experiences in a journal. Torrence did so with something called a pen and a notebook. This was a lot different from what he was use to, but it was a pretty easy to use. While Torrence wrote in his chambers, Ankor went into his study and called Galeena's cell phone. Galeena was in her small studio putting the finishing touches on her final work when her cell rang. "Hello?" she answered. "Hello Galeena. I hope I am not interrupting you." Galeena smiled with glee. Mr. Ankor was one of her favorite people to talk to. She met him on accident when she was drawing in the city park. He was fascinated by her drawing and they had been friends since then. "Hello Mr. Ankor! No you could never interrupt me. How are you?" "I am doing just fine. I haven't missed your graduation yet have I?" "No you haven't. It's in a few days. Will you come?" "I wouldn't miss it for the world. I am bringing a friend. Is that okay with you?" "Of course it is. Oh! Tomorrow is the Spring Showcase for art students. It's at 7:30 pm. You and your friend can come to that right?" "Sure, and I was about to ask you if you'd like to come with us for lunch tomorrow at Cornwall's." "But isn't it that expensive sea food place?" "Did I mention I was paying? Please come dear. This friend of mine has been wanting to meet you ever since I told him about you." Galeena sighed. The man was too good to her and rarely asked for anything. "All right." "Excellent! I'll have my man pick you up in front of your building at 11 am okay?" "Oh, but . . ." "No buts, this is my gift to you." "Hehe, whatever you say. I'd love to chat more but I need to finish this painting that's due today." "Oh! I am sorry dear. I'll see you tomorrow." "Okay, good bye." Galeena said before hanging up. She wondered who this friend of Mr. Ankor's was. She would find out soon enough. Right now she had to finish this art work. When Ankor hanged up, he wanted to kick his heels with joy. He couldn't wait to tell Torrence. Getting up, he left his study and headed for Torrence's room. Torrence was just finishing when Ankor came in. "I just called Galeena and she's agreed to meet up with us for lunch tomorrow. She's also invited us to her Spring Showcase and graduation." "Are we going to those?" "Of course we are. Now I will teach you about currency and then we'll eat lunch." Torrence nodded and got up. Although he did not show it, he was excited about tomorrow. Learning about US currency wasn't hard for Torrence. In fact, in some ways it was similar to Fraidel currency. People still used money, paid taxes, and trading existed too. Soon they had lunch, this time outside. The food was good too. During lunch, Torrence was thinking how Galeena would fit in with his people. From what Ankor had told him, Galeena was a lot like his sister, Lagina since they both liked the arts. Ankor knew about Galeena's parents and told Torrence about their deaths. While a part of him was sadden by this, another part was glad that he could relate to Galeena in some way. And he wouldn't have to ask for Galeena's hand either. In Fraidel, it was traditional for men to ask parents for their daughter's hand in marriage. If there wasn't any parents than the lady's guardian or eldest brother was asked. Since Galeena was an only child and it would almost impossible to contact her grandmother, Torrence wouldn't have to worry about it, although he wish he did. If possible, it was mandatory for royal men to ask the parents for the royals saw this as another way to serve their people. Torrence was still thinking when Ankor said, "Excuse me Torrence, but I want to talk about something personal." "Sure." "Well, I recently came from the Fire Dragon Clan and saw that Meridian was sending letters to young Rowan. Are those two in a relationship?" Torrence growled. 'Young' Rowan was a year younger than him and was recently crowned ruler of the Fire Dragon Clan. He was also Torrence's biggest rival. It was required of all young male royals to train together every spring in order to strengthen bonds so they could become allies when they ruled their clans. But the Fire and Water Dragon Clans were always rivals for as long as Torrence could remember. It always been a friendly rivalry though. Still, Torrence didn't like how Meridian and Rowan were together. "Yes." Torrence finally answered through clenched teeth. "Torrence, I know you don't like Rowan much and vice versa, but he's a good man. And your sister is smart enough to know what is best for her." "She's barely of age though." Girls of all clans became of age, or when they could marry, when they turned eighteen. Meridian had just turned eighteen several months ago. "She's wise for her age though. Listen Torrence, we don't have to talk about this now if it upsets you. In fact, since you're done eating, I think now will be a good time to show you how to court a lady in this world." replied Ankor, deciding to change the subject. But he did admit he was worried about Rowan and Meridian. There seemed to be a wedge between Torrence and Rowan as well as the two clans. And with Torrence's father, brother, and their dragon partners found near the Fire Dragon Clan border, that wedge might grow bigger. But that was for another time. Torrence was finding that this courting stuff to be a little more complicated than he thought. Still, he thought he could manage to woo Galeena. That night as he got ready for bed, thought about her. He hoped things went well tomorrow. Well, he'd find out soon enough. It took him while to go to sleep, but once he did, he was out like a light. Tomorrow would be the biggest day of his life and he was as ready as he could be. Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 04 A/N: Sooo sorry to my fans who've been waiting for almost a year for this next chapter. I've been super busy with college and now I have the summer off. I am thinking of dividing the chapters up just so I can update sooner. Just got to make sure I have enough words. I am already working on the next chapter and it's a pivotal one. I apologize for any grammatical mistakes cause I don't have an editor. Hope you like this next one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter IV The Dating Game Torrence was up even before the sun came up. He usually made a habit of this to train privately. Ankor allowed him to bring his training gear because knew how important it was for a warrior to keep in shape. He also allowed him to bring his scepter with the Waterstone on it so he could keep it safe. However, he was not allowed to use it. Ankor had secured a private room for Torrence so he could train there. He was assured that the house staff wouldn't reveal his true identity. Ankor was extremely careful in picking whom worked for him. The room Torrence went in suited his purposes. It was what Ankor called a gym. Torrence took out his sword and started training. It felt good to do this again for he hadn't been able to do this private training since he left for his trip to the Wind Dragon Clan. He trained for an hour before Gerald came in and told him breakfast would be ready in thirty minutes. Deciding to head back to his room, he got his things and exited the room. Yesterday Ankor shown him how to work appliances. Torrence took to it like a duck in water. He really liked the shower. If there was one thing he was going to miss from this world, it was the shower. Back in Fraidel they used tubs for cleaning themselves. After drying off he looked in his closet to see what he'd wear today. Suddenly, he remembered what today was. It took him a good twenty minutes to pick out his outfit. He wore tanned colored trousers or slacks they were called here, a dark green shirt, and brown shoes and belt. Ankor had told him he didn't have to give Galeena anything since it wasn't a date. Still, it was tempting to give her something. But he still had time for that. Ankor was waiting in the dining room when Torrence joined him. "You look good Torrence." he said. "I am nervous." Torrence admitted as he sat down and began to eat. "You'll do fine. Just be yourself." "I told Niron the exact same thing when he was going on his first date with Daphene." Torrence said before looking down. He refused to let his emotion loose, but he missed his brother. Ankor saw his expression and said, "Torrence, I know this may not help, but it's good to remember the good times." Normally Torrence did not talk about his emotions, but he trusted Ankor completely. "It's just isn't fair. Who would kill them and so brutally? They were honorable men and dragons. They never hurt anyone!" Torrence shouted the last part and slammed his fist onto the table, causing it to shake. "Sorry." he said." "It's okay. You're entitled to your feelings Torrence. If you didn't let your emotions out like this than I'd be worried. It isn't a show of weakness to cry, it's what's makes us have a heart." Torrence nodded and breathed in deeply. It took him a few minutes to calm down. He now thought of Galeena. "When will we see Galeena?" "For lunch. We'll leave here at 10:45 am. The place we're eating at is across town. It's a sea food place and a very nice one at that. Galeena will meet us there. In the meantime let's finish our meal than continue your lessons." Ankor replied. Torrence nodded and continued eat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was rare for Galeena to have a free day. Well, she had most of the day free. After lunch she was to head to the university so she could help set up for tonight's Spring Showcase. Than tomorrow was her graduation. While she wished her grandma could come, many of her father's family would come. She knew nothing about her mother's side except her grandma and Tess never talked about it except that her grandpa lived in another place and it wasn't possible for them to be together. Since Galeena always trusted her grandmother, she never questioned her. At least Mr. Ankor would be coming. She was secretly hoping that her grandma and Mr. Ankor would meet, simply because they were the most important people in her life right now. Galeena's thoughts soon drifted to her dream man Torrence. She wondered if she would ever find out if he was real. Well, there was no use worrying about it. Galeena looked at the time. It was 9 am. Galeena decided to read a little before getting ready for lunch. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During this time, Ankor was teaching Torrence how to use a computer. It took Torrence a good hour to learn the basics and how to use the internet. "Um, Ankor, why am I learning how to use this again?" "So you can contact Galeena in another way. Contacting by phone doesn't work all the time. I would suggest you use this as a last resort though. You know how too much of a good thing can be bad right?" Torrence nodded. "Well, the same concept can be used here. Computers can be very addicting." Torrence nodded again and they continued. By the time it was 10:30 am, Ankor and Torrence stopped his studies. "You've learned a great deal these past few days, Torrence. I am very proud of you." "It hasn't been easy sir." "Well, now it's time to put those skills to the test. Just remember, the most important thing is to be yourself." Torrence hoped his was ready. He never been so nervous in his life, not even when he took his test to become a dragoon. On Fraidel, it was custom that every person who was training to become a dragoon to take a test when he or she became of age. The person was taken out to a deserted place and had to survive for ten days by living off the land. Torrence passed his with flying colors. His father had been so proud. Thinking about his father made him sad and once again it took all his willpower not to shout and hit something. Ankor could tell Torrence was thinking about recent events again and so to distract him, he said, "Think of Galeena, son." That did the trick. Torrence began thinking about Galeena and how he was going to court her. While he was doing that, he followed Ankor out the door and followed him to one of Ankor's cars. His thoughts of Galeena vanished when he saw the vehicle. Ankor told him about the different kinds of transportation and mentioned he liked to collect cars. This one was called a Jaguar and it was a dark blue color. "I've had the seat moved back so you can fit in it." Ankor explained as he opened the passenger's door for him. Torrence slipped on in and watched as Ankor closed the door. He waited 'til the sorcerer got in before asking him, "Ankor, I use this handle here to open the door right?" Hit pointed to the handle. Ankor nodded. "And remember to address me as Henry okay? It's just while we're out in public." "Yes sir." "Good, I would suggest you pay attention to everything around you." Ankor suggested as he started the car. Torrence couldn't hide his fascination as Ankor pulled out of the driveway. It was an eventful trip. Despite what he learned, Torrence still couldn't believe he was seeing things he saw in his dreams. He was so consumed in watching everything, he barely noticed when they arrived at their destination. "We're here Torrence." Ankor replied. Torrence looked up and Ankor pulled up to the restaurant. A man in a uniform walked up. "Good day gentlemen. May I take your keys please?" he asked. "Indeed sir, thank you. Come on my boy, let's go." Torrence followed Ankor's lead, unbuckled his seat belt, and got out of the car. The man in uniform gave Ankor a piece of paper, got in the car, and drove it off. Seeing Torrence's perplexed look, Ankor explained, "That's a valet Torrence. At some places like a high end restaurant, they take people's cars and park them so we won't have to. When we leave, I give the valet this ticket and he'll go get our car for us." Torrence nodded and they head into the restaurant. As soon as Torrence went through the door, all these scents assaulted his nose. Some were familiar while others were foreign to him. As he looked around he saw a woman standing behind a podium. She looked up and smiled. "Good day gentlemen. Do you have a reservation?" she asked. "Yes, Henry Ankor. And we're expecting a young lady too." Ankor replied. The lady looked at her reservation list. "Here you are sir. Will you please follow me?" she instructed. Torrence and Ankor followed her and she had them seated in a private corner. "Enjoy your meals gentlemen." she said before leaving. A few minutes after she left, their waiter arrived. "Hello gentlemen. May I interest you in something to drink?" "Yes, your finest wine please. And three glasses of water too." Ankor answered. "Very good sir. I shall be right back." When he left, Torrence asked, "When will Galeena get here?" Ankor chuckled and replied, "Oh I imagine she'll be here any minute." Little did Ankor know, he was right. Galeena was so excited about seeing Mr. Ankor that she was ready by 10:30 am. She was sitting outside by her apartment building when she was a black limo pull up. She got up as the driver got out. "Ms. Gellar?" he inquired. "Yes, I am she." "I am James, Mr. Ankor's driver. I am here to take you Cromwell's." "Thank you." "Shall we than?" James asked before opening a door to the limo. Galeena nodded and got in. When she got in, she was in awe of everything. She never been in a limo and immediately started checking things out. She giggled in delight when the panel separating her and James came down. "How are you doing miss?" he asked. "I am just great James, thank you!" Galeena said. It didn't take them long to reach the restaurant. Since she was riding in a limo there was no need for the valet to take it. Instead, he opened the door and held out his hand. "Good day miss." he said. "Thank you." Galeena said and placed her hand in his. As soon as she got out, she turned to James. "Thank you so much." "You're welcome miss. I shall be back in a couple hours." he said before driving off. Galeena walked in Cromwell's and approached the maitre de. "Hello miss. Are with the Henry Ankor group?" she asked. "Yes I am." "Than follow me please." Galeena did and immediately saw Mr. Ankor. Her smile was instant. She didn't even notice his friend. Torrence certainly saw her right away and it took every ounce of his control not to get up and crush her to him. Her scent attached to him like a second skin. His dreams of her didn't even come close to the real deal. Ankor saw Torrence's reaction before tapping him on the shoulder. He got up and greeted Galeena. "Galeena my dear girl. You look wonderful! How are you?" he said as he hugged her. Galeena laughed as she hugged him back. "I am doing just fine Mr. Ankor." "Please, call me Henry child. I told you, you can call by my first name. Now, let me introduce you to my friend, Torrence Bronson." Ankor introduced. Galeena had already saw him and almost fainted. If Ankor hadn't been holding her, she just might have. It was him! The man she'd been dreaming about for a year now. At first she thought she was dreaming again, but Mr. Ankor's arm was wrapped around her shoulders. This was real all right. And while she was able to keep standing, she couldn't hide the shock in her eyes. Both Torrence and Ankor saw her reaction, but kept their faces neutral and friendly. Finally, Ankor broke the ice. "Torrence, this is Galeena Stellar." he replied. Galeena was able to compose herself by this time but nearly swallowed her tongue when Torrence stood up and took her hand. "It is an honor to finally meet you my dear. Henry has told much about you." Torrence said before kissing her hand. Touching her for real this time was almost his undoing. He felt the instant connection and knew she was his soul mate. On Fraidel, one was very lucky to find one's soul mate. And it wouldn't have mattered if one was poor and one was royalty, once soul mates found each other, nothing could separate them. That's exactly what happened with Torrence's grandparents. Now that Torrence found his, would move Heaven and Earth to claim her. Galeena wasn't fairing as well as Torrence. The instant his lips touched her hand, not only did she feel the connection, but she blushed from head to toe. Still, she managed to smile. "It is an honor to meet you too, Mr. Bronson." she managed to say. Torrence stood up and reluctantly let go of her hand. Both men kept standing until Galeena sat down. Each sat on both sides of her. Soon the waiter returned with their waters before leaving. Torrence finally got the nerve to start talking to Galeena. "Henry tells me you are an art student at the local university here. I've scene your work and I really love it." Galeena smiled, but in the back of her mind, she was thinking how he would react when he saw her painting of him. She almost forgot she invited him and Mr. Ankor to her showcase tonight. "Thank you Mr. Bronson. I love to paint." "Please call me Torrence." "Than you can call me Galeena." Soon the wine arrived and they placed their orders. Ankor had to reassure Galeena that she could have anything she wanted. She sighed and ordered. Just by watching Galeena, Torrence could tell she was a gentle lady and didn't want to be a burden to anyone. It was also interesting to watch her interact with Ankor. Not only were they good friends, but it seemed to Torrence that they developed at father and daughter relationship, even though Ankor appeared to be old enough to be her grandfather. Torrence didn't even know how old Ankor was. Galeena started asking Torrence about what he did for a living. Torrence knew this was going to happen and wished he didn't have to lie to Galeena. He and Ankor came up with the story of how he recently became in charge of his family's business that was associated with Ankor. Torrence couldn't tell her yet he was the Ruler of the Water Dragon Clan, let alone he was from another planet. He hoped Galeena would forgive him. Galeena already felt he wasn't telling her everything. She couldn't picture him behind the desk. He looked more comfortable riding that blue dragon she saw him fly in her dreams. He also gave off much of the same energy like Mr. Ankor. She believed there was more to Mr. Ankor than meets the eye too. Maybe when the two trusted her more they would tell her everything. Until then, she would be patient and enjoy these moments. "Um, Torrence, if you don't mind me asking, but can you tell me why you are now in charge of your family business?" Galeena asked. That caught Torrence off guard. At least he didn't show it. "My father and older brother are dead, so . . .the responsibility was handed to me." he replied trying to keep his voice strong. Galeena felt bad and placed her hand on his clenched fist that was on the table. Torrence was a bit startled, but took her hand in his. That gesture alone showed him she understood and the look in her eyes showed her sympathy. "You know, when my parents died, my grandmother always told me that they're always with me and as long as I remember and cherish the times I spent with them, they will always be alive in my heart. So maybe if you remember the good times, things might get easier to handle." Torrence looked at her and for once listened. During the funeral people were trying to consol him and said his father and brother would want him to move on and such. Torrence didn't listen though. Meeting Galeena though had already helped him heal in some ways. Wanting to take away some of his sadness, Galeena decided to change the subject. "How long have you and Henry known each other?" "Ha ha, Galeena I was there when Torrence was born." "Yes Henry has always been family to us." Torrence added. "I would love to meet your family." Galeena replied. "I am sure you will eventually." In fact, Torrence could picture Galeena with his family. He wanted her to feel at home cause he knew he'd be asking her to give up her family here. "Does any of your family live here?" he asked. "No, they all live on the east coast or overseas." "Will your grandmother be coming here for the graduation?" Ankor asked. Galeena looked down and shook her head. "She's getting up there in age so the flight would be too much for her. Many of my dad's family is coming." Galeena said. "That's something right?" asked Torrence. "Yes it is." Galeena loved her extended family, but didn't feel that connection like she did with her parents and grandma. Both Torrence and Ankor could tell she'd rather have her grandma there. "So Galeena? What time is this showcase at again?" Ankor asked. "Oh, it's at 6:30 pm. There will be refreshments there." During this time their food arrived. After finishing, Galeena looked at the time. "Oh my! I need to get going. I need to help setup for tonight." she said. Both men stood up as she stood up. She gave Ankor a hug and shook Torrence's hand. He leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. Red in the face, Galeena managed to wave before leaving. "Are you ready to leave Torrence?" asked Ankor. Torrence turned to Ankor and saw his grin. "Yes sir." he replied. After paying, Ankor and Torrence left. Ankor gave the valet their ticket and soon he brought back the car. "Have a nice day gentlemen." the valet said. "Thank you." Ankor said as they got into the car. As soon as they were both settled, Ankor drove off. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ankor gave Torrence a break from his studies for the rest of the day. Torrence decided to read up on Fraidel stuff. Before he left, the Council had sent him scrolls on all the responsibilities the ruler had. After reading over an hour, Torrence trained for several hours before Ankor suggested they get ready to leave. Torrence did not need to be told twice. It only took him thirty minutes to get ready. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Galeena had only thirty minutes to get ready. She got ready in record time. Normally her room was in good order, but it took her ten minutes to decide what to wear. Because of this, there were clothes tossed all over her bed. She did not know what she was more nervous off, Torrence or people seeing her latest showcase. Out of all the paintings she did, her Elements series was her favorite and one she put her heart and soul into. Still, she felt something was missing from the series. Well, she would figure that out another time. She put on a violet dress, pulled her hair back in a clip, and put on her black heels, and put on her make-up. She looked herself in the mirror. She thought she looked decent. She never considered herself a real beauty cause half of the time she had paint on her. She lost count on how many clothes she ruined in the pass years. For once she wanted to feel beautiful, at least for Torrence. But than again, Torrence probably had someone. However, if he did than he wouldn't have flirted with her. Not wanting to dwell on that, Galeena left her apartment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Torrence and Ankor arrived at Galeena's university at 6:35 pm. "Wow, there's so many people here." commented Torrence. "This university is a very prominent art school. It produces good artists here. Galeena is the best to come out of it." "She'd be famous in Fraidel too." "Indeed. Well, let's go." Torrence nodded and got out. It was a pleasant evening and Torrence found himself enjoying the weather here. The weather was similar to his own kingdom. All thoughts of the weather went out of his mind though when he entered the foyer of the Fine Arts building. There were paintings and other works of fine art everywhere! Some things he never seen before. He could see the beauty in all of them. But their beauty did not even come close to Galeena when he spotted her. He had to check himself to make sure his tongue was not hanging out, or worse, drooling. In that instant he wanted to devour every inch of her. But he knew he could not, not yet anyway. Galeena had also spotted him and excusing herself, came over to him and Henry. Seeing the look in his eyes made her blush and wanted to run for cover. Both stood there looking at each other before Ankor broke the ice. Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 04 "Galeena you look spectacular. Doesn't she Torrence?" That snapped Torrence out of his stupor. "Indeed she does." he replied with a smile. Galeena managed a shy grin. "Thank you." "So Galeena, where's your collection?" Ankor asked. "Oh, this way." Galeena motioned, feeling nervous. Torrence and Ankor followed her, both wondering what made her nervous. All thought went out of their heads though when they saw Galeena's collection. Both could not hide their shock either. They were looking at Torrence and Cerulos's portraits. And if that wasn't enough, there were portraits of the other Fraidel rulers and their dragon partners. Only Torrence did not recognize the Light and Gold rulers. Ankor did though, although he had not seen them in recent years. Galeena saw their reactions. She was expecting Torrence's, but not Henry's. "So what do you think?" she finally asked. Both composed themselves. "It's wonderful Galeena. Your best work yet." Ankor answered. "You truly are the best Galeena." Torrence added. "Thank you. I called this series, The Elements. I got my subjects from my dreams. Still, I feel something is missing." Torrence was about to tell her when Ankor put a restraining hand on his shoulder. Both knew what she was missing. It was the Purple Dragon and his partner. But no one had seen the two in ages. "Do you have a favorite Galeena?" Ankor asked. Galeena blushed and answered, "The Water one." Ankor chuckled and Torrence smiled knowingly. Both also thought if Galeena was dreaming of Fraidel, it be easier for them to tell her about it. "Are you two hungry? The buffet is over there." Galeena pointed. "Sure and thanks." Torrence replied. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The evening went on without a hitch. Both Galeena and Torrence were having the time of their lives and did not want it to end. Ankor decided to give them some space. After all, he done his part in getting them together. Now it was up to Torrence. Still he could help by subtly influencing the crowd by keeping someone from talking to them. Both Torrence and Galeena were unaware of Ankor's influence too. Right now they were looking at Galeena's paintings again. "What are you going to do with them?" Torrence asked, referring to the paintings. "They'll be on display here until September. After that, I am not sure. I'll think of something then." Torrence nodded. He actually wanted to take the collection back to Fraidel. Maybe when the time came, he would ask Galeena if he could. He certainly wanted to keep his portrait and while he thought about keeping the others, he wanted to be fair and let the other clans have the portraits of their respected leaders, even Rowan's. "So Galeena, do you like dragons?" he asked. Galeena nodded. "I've been dreaming about them since I can remember. And I can't help but feel a kinship with them. It sounds crazy doesn't it?" "No, not at all. I feel the same." "Really? I like to think they're real." "You never know. Um, Galeena? I know this may sound sudden, but would you want to go out with me sometime soon. After your graduation that is. You don't have to decide right now." Torrence rushed on, not wanting to rush her. Galeena looked up at him in surprise. He was looking at her in a way that made her heart tremble. She nervously threaded her fingers together before saying, "Sure." Torrence did not realize he was holding his breath until she said yes. Suddenly, he pulled her into his arms and hugged her. Galeena did not know what to say or do. She inhaled his scent and it reminded her of the times she seen him in her dreams. Slowly, she wrapped her arms around his waist. Torrence was content to hold her this way, for now. Holding her in the flesh was defiantly better than in his dreams. Carefully he pulled back. "You've just made my day Galeena. Thank you." Galeena managed to look up at him. "You're welcome." Torrence would have kissed right then and there, but he suddenly remembered they were not alone. The evening went by too fast for Galeena. Soon it was time for her to leave. "It's been a wonderful evening. Thank you both for coming." Galeena said to Torrence and Henry. "It was our pleasure dear. We can't wait to show up for your graduation." Ankor replied. "Here are two extra tickets for you two to get in." Galeena said before giving them to Torrence. "Can I escort you to your car?" Torrence asked. "Oh, that won't be necessary, Torrence." "I insist." Galeena relented and let him walk with her. She hugged and said goodbye to Henry first. "I'll be at the car Torrence." he told him. When Torrence and Galeena got to her car, Galeena said, "Thank you again. It's been wonderful." "Likewise my dear." Torrence replied before taking her hand and kissing her knuckles. Galeena felt her heart race when he kissed the palm of her hand next. Torrence could not keep his eyes off of her as he slowly pulled her into his embrace. Looking deep into her eyes he leaned down and lightly kissed her. And it was so much better than any dream. Galeena was wondering if she was dreaming, but when her hand rested on his chest, she felt his heart beating under her palm. She also felt her body warm up and soon found herself kissing him back. Torrence could not believe her reaction to him. Here he was afraid of moving too fast, but soon found himself trying to keep up with her. Growling, he pulled her closer. So close that he lifted her up and crushed her against him. Galeena could not control herself. Ever since she first dreamt of Torrence, she felt this need that she could not describe. And now that she was with him, she could not get enough. When she felt the pressure of his manhood against her though, she pulled back. Both tried to gather their senses. "Sorry, was I moving too fast?" Galeena managed to ask. Torrence laughed in between breathes. "No, not at all darling. But now I worry if you're going to be able to get home tonight." Torrence replied before setting her down. "I will, just give me a few seconds." Galeena took several deep breathes. It wasn't long before she came back down to earth. It took her a few more minutes to make sure she had a clear head. Torrence was amazed on how quickly she recovered. He was still trying to placate his beating heart. "I guess I'll seen you soon." Galeena said before getting into her car. "Yes, see you soon." Torrence said as he closed her car door. After she left, he headed back to Ankor's car. Ankor smiled at him, knowing what created that look on the young ruler. The drive was silent on the way back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next few days passed by in a flash. The next day was Galeena's graduation. Torrence never been to a graduation before, but on Fraidel they did have celebrations for when a royal became of age. He also got to meet Galeena's family or some of them at least. The next day, he took Galeena out on a picnic. The next day they saw a movie. During this time Torrence was learning how to drive too. He was also aware of his deadline. Time was moving too fast for his liking. Finally, with only three days left before the full moon, Torrence came to the decision to tell Galeena about Fraidel. That way she would have enough time to make up her mind. He made this decision to tell her as he was taking her home from another date. He was kissing her at the entrance to her apartment building and pulled back. "Would it be too much to ask if I could come up?" he asked her. "He he, I am afraid so." "Galeena, you're the most enchanting woman I've ever met. I hope I am not rushing you." Galeena blushed but smile. "No, this feels right to me." "There's so much I want to tell you. Tomorrow, can I take you to Henry's?" "All right. What time?" "I'll pick you up at 11 am okay?" "That's fine. See you then." Galeena kissed him before going into the building. Torrence took a deep breath before heading to the car Ankor let him use. With all the practice he did, Torrence felt proud of himself. Ankor created his own driver's license too. When Torrence got back, Ankor was waiting for him in his study. "So how'd it go?" Ankor asked. "Good. Ankor, tomorrow I am going to bring Galeena here. And I am going to tell her everything." "Aw. Does this include asking her to come with us?" "Yes. And I am not sure what's going to happen. She does have family here." "Don't worry, I'll tell her she can come back here to see her family." Torrence nodded. "I am going to train than go to bed." he said before leaving the room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Galeena was getting ready for bed. She never felt happier, but she could not shake the feeling that Torrence was hiding something. Maybe that's what he planned to do tomorrow. Deciding not to worry about it, Galeena brushed her teeth and put on her night gown. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That night both Galeena and Torrence dreamt. This time they were in an icy realm. Torrence saw they were in the Silver Dragon Realm, Crystalla. "I've been here before." Galeena told him. "Oh really?" Torrence said as they walked hand-in-hand. "Yes. I saw a silver dragon here. On him was a man with silvery blue hair. I could never get close enough to see his eyes, but I believe they were gray and looked fox-like." Torrence knew who she was talking about. She must be talking about the Silver Dragon Clan ruler, Vyx and his dragon partner, Blitz. Vyx was the polar opposite of Rowan. Where Rowan had a temper, Vyx was reserved. Rowan tended to speak his mind, but Vyx only spoke when he had something to say. But if Torrence was honest with himself, he'd admit that Vyx was very sly and cunning while Rowan was genuine. Torrence was still thinking when he felt Galeena's hand start to burn. He turned to see her knees buckle and she dropped to the ground. "Torrence . . .something's . . . .wrong." Galeena said in between coughs. Suddenly her image burst into flames. "Galeena!" Torrence shouted as he woke up. Galeena woke up coughing. Opening her eyes, she heard the fire alarm go off. Her room was filled with smoke. Getting dizzy, she managed to get to the floor and crawled to the door. Placing her hand on the door, she gasped and pulled her hand back. Fire was on the other side and Galeena was trapped! Before she lost consciousness, she prayed someone would find her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: Since this is a big cliffy, I am going to try and do my best to complete the next chapter or a part of Ch. 5 at least. Please tell me what you think okay? Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 05 Pt. 01 A/N: Ack! I really feel bad now. Ya'll have been extremely patient with me and I appreciate it. I figured out my problem of uploading though. I wanted to start breaking up my chapters so I could update more often, but I was afraid it wouldn't be enough because their is a minimum length requirement. I figured it out though. As long as I update every 10 pages, I'll do fine. So this is actually the first part of Ch. 5. My chapters are long enough for me to do this. Again sorry for the big delay. I am going to college full time but I am going to keep on trying to update. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ch. V Returning to Fraidel Torrence never felt fear in all his life, not the gut-wrenching kind that filled you with dread. He felt it now as he woke up. Galeena was in danger. He could feel it. He leapt out of bed and threw on some clothes and weapons. "Ankor!" he shouted when he burst into the wizard's room, only to find him standing in front of his fireplace. "I know why you're here Torrence. I heard her cry for help. Since time is of the essence, I am going to teleport you there. I'll know when you've found her too." "How?" Ankor raised an eyebrow at that question. "Never mind. Can you hurry please?" Ankor smiled at his impatience and murmuring a few words, caused Torrence to disappear. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next thing Torrence knew, he was in a raging inferno. "Galeena!" he shouted as he started to use his water magic to wipe out the flames. He maneuvered his way through the room, constantly keeping an eye out for Galeena. He did his best to keep his cool. He would not be able to help Galeena if he lost it. However, it was difficult because of the danger. He called out one more time, praying he'd find her. He knew he had to hurry for the smoke was starting to get to him. Just as he was about to loose it, he heard a cough. It was the sweetest sound he ever heard. He looked down and saw Galeena. Torrence did not notice this, but the fire did not come near her. Quickly, Torrence checked her pulse and found it beating. While he was not a great healer, he knew enough to do a quick body scan for injuries. Seeing Galeena had no broken bones, Torrence gathered her in his arms and picked her up. Just as he did, he found himself being teleported again. He appeared right before Ankor. "I am assuming you did a body scan." Ankor commented. "Yes. She has smoke in her lungs, but that's it." "We best take care of that. Follow me. I have a room prepared for her." Torrence did as he was instructed and followed Ankor. Ankor had prepared a room for Galeena. It was near Torrence's room so Torrence could be near her. The room was pale green with soft gold accents. All the furniture was made out of light oak. Torrence placed Galeena on the four poster bed. "We need to get the smoke out of her lungs and body." Ankor said. "Laguna learned how to do it. She taught me how to do it." "Yes I know for the technique was a concept the original Moonstone holder created." "Well, unfortunately, I wasn't taught how to do it if the toxins got into her blood." "Let's do this together just to be sure." Torrence agreed before creating several cuffs of energy to appear on Galeena's wrists and ankles in order to hold her down. Both men placed their hands on Galeena's chest. Using their magic, they started to pull the smoke and toxins out of Galeena's body. At times her body convulsed and she coughed up smoke. So the process was painful. But because Torrence got Galeena out in time, it did not take them long to remove all the smoke and toxins. It did take energy out of the two though. "There. She'll be fine after a good night's rest. Why don't you get some rest Torrence." Ankor suggested. "I want to stay in here with her Ankor." "Suit yourself." Ankor left them alone and went back to his chambers. Torrence took off his weapons and several articles of clothes until he was only wearing a t-shirt and boxers. He removed the cuffs from Galeena before maneuvering her so he can pull the sheets back. After doing that, he placed her under them. Torrence decided to join her in the bed. After coming so close to loosing her, he needed to hold her tonight. Decision made, he got underneath the covers and pulled Galeena against him. It felt wonderful to have her in his arms like this. Closing his eyes, Torrence fell asleep. Torrence woke up around 6:30 am the next day. He turned to look at Galeena. She was still asleep and had moved to where her head was on his shoulder and her hand was on his chest. Torrence smiled, but he knew he had to get up. Moving carefully and slowly, he moved out of Galeena's arms and got out of bed. Picking up his belongings, he just realized that Galeena did not have anything to wear. Back in his room, he changed into his training gear. He trained a little over an hour before heading back to his room. He showered and got dressed before looking for Ankor. He was not in the dining room where they usually ate breakfast. Gerald was there though. "Mr. Ankor is in the entertainment room watching the news. Breakfast is almost done and someone is watching Ms. Stellar." Gerald informed him. "Thank you Gerald." Torrence found the entertainment room and saw Ankor. He was watching the news all right and it was talking about the fire at Galeena's apartment last night. The reporter announced that only one person did not make it out, but they could not release the person's name yet. Torrence and Ankor immediately knew who that person was. It was Galeena. "What do we do now?" asked Torrence. "First we wait for Galeena to wake up." Ankor replied looking very serious. "You realize that if everyone thinks she's dead, she can leave here with no strings attached." "Yes I do, but would you want her family to think that?" Torrence shook his head. It was definitely a complicated situation. "For now, let's break fast." Ankor suggested. After they ate breakfast, Torrence went back to Galeena's room to sit by her. Taking her hand in his, he knelt by the bed. Torrence did not pray much, but he did now. "Please, love, wake up." he murmured. Suddenly, he heard her moan. Torrence immediately looked up to see Galeena slowly open her eyes. Galeena woke up with a big headache and her throat felt as dry as a desert. She turned her head and saw Torrence. "Water?" she managed to ask. Torrence was told she might feel dehydrated and took a cup of water off the small dresser next to the bed. With his other hand, he helped Galeena sit up before lifting the cup up to her lips and letting her take a few sips. "Better?" he asked before placing the cup down and helping her lay down again. Galeena nodded before asking, "What happened?" Torrence had been dreading this and did not know how to tell her. After thinking a few minutes, he decided to be honest. Rubbing her pale hand in between his two big ones he said gently, "There was a fire in your apartment. On the news this morning they said that everyone got out except one, whom they now think is dead. Galeena, you're the one who was unaccounted for. I found you unconscious and felt it was best to bring you back here. So no one knows you're alive." Galeena's eyes widen in shock. Suddenly, all of last night's events came rushing back. "I could have died!" she exclaimed, trying to sit up. Keeping a hold of her hand, Torrence wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Shh, it's okay. You are safe." he comforted. "My family . . .I have . . .to tell them . ." Galeena started to say as she drifted off, still weary from last night's events. Torrence laid her back down. He wished he had more time so she could recover, but knew he had to tell her about Fraidel very soon. He just hoped Galeena would be ready by then. Galeena woke up a couple hours later, this time she was alone and starving. Feeling more at ease and a little stronger, she managed to sit up and took in her surroundings. It was a lovely room. It also seemed familiar. That's when she remembered. This was Mr. Ankor's house. She'd been to his mansion before on several occasions. But why was she here? Slowly she remembered how. She also remembered Torrence telling her about last night. It also brought up a few more questions. How did Torrence know she was in danger and how did he get in and get out of her apartment. Galeena's thoughts were interrupted when someone knocked on the door. Suddenly, a matronly African American woman appeared with a tray and some clothing on her arm. "Aw, good you're awake. My name is Mrs. Wilson and I am the house keeper. Mr. Ankor thought you would be hungry and Mr. Bronson ordered you some clothes. Now, how about we get some food in you and than we can get you cleaned up." Mrs. Wilson said. Galeena nodded and obliged her. By the time she put on clean clothes, she was feeling better. She was feeling so good that she convinced Mrs. Wilson to help her find Torrence or Mr. Ankor. Still taking it easy though, she let Mrs. Wilson lead the way. Soon they ran into Gerald. He informed Galeena that both Torrence and Mr. Ankor were in Mr. Ankor's study. Since Mrs. Wilson had other things to attend to, Gerald led Galeena to the study. Both Ankor and Torrence were talking about Galeena when someone knocked on the door. "Ms. Stellar wishes to see both of you." Gerald said as he poked his head in. "Thank you Gerald. Please let her in." Ankor said. Galeena came in as both men stood up. "Please come and sit my dear." Ankor said as he offered her his chair. "Henry, let her take my chair. I can stand for now." Torrence replied. Ankor nodded and Galeena sat in the chair Torrence was in. "I want to thank you both for your help. But I do have a few questions." Galeena said. "Ask away." Ankor replied. "Can I call my family to tell them I am okay?" "Certainly my dear, but there is something Torrence and I must tell you first." "That was the other question. I know both of you have been hiding something and I would like to know what it is. Please? I promise I won't tell anyone." Both Ankor and Torrence looked at each other and Ankor nodded to Torrence. "Galeena, I am sorry but both of us haven't been completely honest with you." Galeena nodded and braced herself. Torrence took a deep breath before saying, "We're not from this world. We come from a world called Fraidel. I believe you've been dreaming of it." Galeena's eyes open wide. "My paintings?" she asked. "Yes Galeena." "This is surprising, but at the same time, it isn't. I've been dreaming of you Torrence. My Elements Series, those dragons and other people exist, don't they?" "Yes. Our planet is filled with different types of dragons and the clans that live with them. I lead the Water Dragon Clan. Those other people you painted in that series are the other leaders. All the leaders are dragoons." "Dragoons?" "We're warriors that fight alongside with dragons. Only dragoons and the royal family have dragon partners. My dragon partner is Cerulos." Galeena was fascinated. She always wondered if the place she'd been dreaming about was real. To learn that it was real excited her. That's when something occurred to her. "Wait. Torrence? If you are a ruler, why are you here?" Torrence looked at Ankor. Seeing he was a third wheel now, Ankor stood up and left the room. Galeena watched as he left. She looked at Torrence quizzically. "Galeena, you're the reason I am here." Galeena could feel her face heat up. But her heart stopped when Torrence knelt before her and took her hand. He couldn't be. "Galeena, the first time I saw you, my heart stopped, even though I thought you were nothing but a dream. When I found out you were real, I wanted to meet you to see if the feelings I was experiencing were real. And they are, only they became more profound. I know we've only known each other for a short time, but I swear with every breath I take, I am in love with you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Galeena told herself to breath. "You're asking me to go with you, aren't you?" she managed to ask. Torrence nodded. "Will I ever be able to come back?" "Yes, but not that very often. I am sorry Galeena. I know I am asking a lot of you, but I don't want to hide anything from you again. Why don't you think it over? I do need to know soon though. In two more days I must return." Torrence said. He kissed her hand, stood up, and left the room. Galeena sat there, flabbergasted. Torrence had just asked her to marry him. He was also asking her to give up her life here. It was a tough pill to swallow. There was no doubt she loved him, but did she love him enough to leave Earth? She suddenly wanted to talk to someone. Her first thought was her grandma, but then she remembered she promised not to tell anyone about Fraidel. Her next thought was to find Mr. Ankor. Decision made, she went to find him. Gerald was outside the room and told her that Mr. Ankor was outside in the garden. Showing Galeena the way, Gerald led the way. Galeena found Mr. Ankor near the entrance sitting on a bench. Looking at her, he smiled. "I had a feeling you come searching for me, my dear." Mr. Ankor said as he stood up. "Henry? Um, that is your real name right?" Galeena asked as she sat done. Ankor sat down too. "Here on Earth it is. On Fraidel I am simply Ankor." "Aw, are you part of the Water Dragon Clan?" "No, and in fact I don't belong to any clan. I am a wizard who travels to all clans. Currently I am visiting Torrence's clan." Galeena nodded. "Torrence asked me to marry him." "I figured as much." "I . .I don't know what to do." "Do you love him?" "Yes I do, but . ." Galeena hesitated. "But what?" "What do I tell my family? I know I want to tell them I am alive, but what do I tell them? They won't believe me. Well, at least my father's side." "What about your mother's side?" "Granny? I think she would. She always told me to keep an open mind and that anything is possible." "Than here is what I suggest. Tell your grandma the truth, but tell the others you're going away somewhere and won't be back for awhile. If they ask where, tell the you've found love and want to be with him." "Hmm, that would work. They wouldn't be too surprised either. My parents only knew each other for a few weeks too before getting married. But I can't let everyone else I know or who know about this think I am dead. Oh, what about my paintings?" "Galeena, I'll take care of those people and everything else. I didn't plan on telling you this until later, but I bought your Elemental Series. I was going to take them back with us." "What? Ankor, you didn't have to do that. I would have gladly given them to you. Thank you though." "It was my pleasure. And I bought them because they were worth it. So, what are you going to do now?" "I think I better call my family first." Ankor nodded. "You can use my phone in the study. Oh, and Galeena, Torrence is in his room, going over Fraidel events and other things." Galeena nodded and left. Galeena hanged up the phone. She had just talked with her paternal grandmother, who was the matriarch on her father's side. It was not as hard as she thought when she told the practical woman her plans. Her grandma just sighed and had said she was her father's daughter. Grandma Stellar would tell the rest of the family. Now, all that was left was her granny. She dialed her number and waited as the phone ranged. "Hello?" answered a voice. "Hi, granny." There was a pause. "Galeena, is that you?" "Yes, it's me. I am fine." "Oh thank the Heavens! When I received a call from the police there . . ." "It's okay granny. Torrence saved me." Galeena had been telling her grandma about him. She also told her about her dreams. "Aw, well than I'll always be grateful to him." "Granny, there's something I have to tell you. And you have to promise not to tell anyone." "Of course dear, as long as it's not illegal." "Hehe, no it isn't." Galeena said before telling her about Fraidel and Torrence's proposal. "You believe me, don't you Granny?" "Of course you silly goose. It be silly to think Earth was the only living planet out there. I just wish I could come with you." "Why can't you?" "Aw honey, I am just not strong enough to try. If I could, you know I would. I'll miss you dreadfully." "Oh granny, what will I do without you?" "You'll have Torrence dear. Now there's something I must tell you." "Yes?" "Never give up. And keep on smiling. You have a beautiful heart dear. I am sure the people there will love you." "Thank you granny. I love you." "I love you too. Now, don't you think you should put that young man out of his misery?" "Hehe, yes. Good bye." When Tess hanged up, she looked out her window and smiled. Her Galeena found her soul mate. She just wondered what adventures would await her. "Be safe Galeena. Your true self awaits." Tess said before taking a nap. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: Hehe I hope your happy now. I wasn't going to leave ya'll on another bad cliffy. Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 05 Pt. 02 A/N: All right, I am so glad I was able to update so soon after my previous update. I think ya'll will like this next part for it's the most important part so far hehe. And I hope this part makes up for my inconsistancy of posting hehe. Enjoy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Torrence couldn't concentrate. He felt torn inside. He wanted to talk to Galeena, but at the same time, he didn't want to push her. "Be patient, Torrence." he told himself. Hearing a knock on the door caught him off guard. "Yes?" he called out. He could not hide his surprise when Galeena came through the door. She was grinning too. She closed the door and locked it. The sound might as well had been an explosion for he felt his heart burst. Galeena watched his expression as she walked towards him, Torrence wanted to stand up, but he felt glued to the chair. Galeena knelt before him and folded her arms over his legs. "Torrence, I love you too and I do want to marry you." Now Torrence thought he was dreaming. Seeing that he was still in shock, Galeena stood up and sat in his lap before wrapping her arms around his neck and kissed him. When Torrence realized this wasn't a dream, he responded by wrapping his arms around her and quickly took charge of the kiss. After a few minutes, Galeena pulled back. "Are you sure Galeena?" Torrence asked. "Yes, I want to go with you. I love you." "What about your family?" "I told them I was going away with you. Ankor said I could tell him maternal grandma the truth. And I did because I trust her completely." "It's not going to be easy." "I didn't expect it to be." Torrence nodded and smiled. "You've just made me the happiest man alive." "Why don't you show me than?" "But, Galeena . . ." "No buts. I don't want to wait. I've been waiting for you my whole life, and I am tired of waiting. Please, make love to me." Torrence couldn't deny her. Picking Galeena up, he walked to the bed and laid her on it. "I'll try to be gentle." he said. "I know. I trust you." Galeena replied before reaching out to him. Taking her hand, Torrence kissed each and every finger lightly before kissing her palm. He had dreamt of this moment for a long time. Now he could live it. Slowly, he began to undress her. He started with her sandals, before kissing and rubbing her ankles. Galeena giggled. "Ticklish?" "Yes." Torrence grinned and saved that fact for another time. Moving right along, he moved his hands up to her blouse and began unbuttoning it. Galeena's heart began to beat faster. Soon he discarded her blouse. Torrence saw that she was wearing a bra. Ankor told him about such things and found that he liked it on Galeena, but he'd like it better if she was out of it. Seeing it had front clasps, he unhooked them, before removing her bra. "You are so much more beautiful than the dream Galeena." Torrence said softly. And it was true. Her ample breasts filled his hands. Training had roughed his hands, but her skin was soft and smooth. Torrence tortured them both by simply touching her slowly. He massaged her breasts together and tweaked her nipples. "Torrence . . ." Galeena moaned. "Easy, my love." Torrence soothed her before unbuckling the belt on her skirt. After that, he unbuttoned her skirt and unzipped it. Instead of taking it off though, he inserted his hand inside her skirt and on top of her panties. He was driving her crazy! Torrence grinned when he felt her heat. Not wanting to torture her too much, he removed his hand and took off her skirt, revealing her white panties. Looking Galeena over, he thought she looked like an offering to the gods. And he was going to enjoy her thoroughly. Galeena could feel herself blushing from head-to-toe. "Torrence?" she asked. "Patience love." Torrence replied. Placing his hands on each side of her waist, he slowly removed her last article of clothing. Totally nude now, Galeena was tempted to cover herself, but found that she enjoyed the look on Torrence's face. Galeena never saw herself as a real beauty, but Torrence made her feel that way. And he was about to turn her into a woman. That thought had her a little frighten. Torrence must have sensed that because he said, "It'll be okay Galeena. I'll go as slow as I can." After saying that, Torrence began to undress. Where he was slow in undressing Galeena, he was quicker in taking his own clothes off. Galeena could not take her eyes off of him. When he removed his boxers, Galeena gaped. "Galeena? What's wrong?" Torrence asked. "You're . .big." she replied, referring to his manhood. How on earth was that going to fit in her womanhood? Fearing Galeena was about to spring, Torrence took her chin into his hand and made her look into his face. "Don't think about it." he said before kissing her. All thoughts of him fitting left her mind. Coaxing her into submission, Torrence got her to open her mouth so he could kiss her more deeply. Galeena moaned when his tongue invaded her mouth. Soon Torrence moved and before Galeena knew it, he was on top of her. But she was too distracted to even realize it. Her body was starting to heat up. Torrence's hands began to rover over her body. He could not get enough of her. Distracting her with kisses he moved his hand to her heat. Galeena lifted her hips on instinct. Feeling her wetness, Torrence inserted a few fingers into her. She was very tight. Galeena moaned in please and felt her first orgasm coming. When Torrence's fingers reached the evidence of her virginity, Galeena crested as the heat took her over the edge. Torrence could hardly believe her responsiveness. Not wanting to wait any longer, he removed his fingers and placed the head of his shaft at her entrance. Kissing Galeena as deeply as he could, Torrence placed his hands on her hips and slowly penetrated her. Despite his gentleness, Galeena squirmed uncomfortably. Still, Torrence pressed on, moving as slowly as he could. Her heat and tightness were driving him crazy though. Her squirming was not helping either, but making it worse. Still, his determination not to hurt her drove him on. When he reached her maidenhead, he pulled his head up and said in a husky voice, "This might hurt a little." "I trust you." Galeena whispered. Kissing her again, Torrence thrusts through her barrier. Galeena screamed into his mouth in pain. For the next few minutes, Torrence remained still in order for Galeena to get use to him. Lifting his head, Torrence saw a few tears flowing down Galeena's cheek. Kissing the tears, he whispered endearments into her ear. Soon Galeena became use to him. She even moved her hips a bit, causing Torrence to groan. Sensing that her pain had subsided, Torrence slowly began to move again until he was all the way in her. During this time, Galeena's hands had moved to his back and traced his scars, proving he was a warrior. And the pleasure she was feeling caused her to loose more control. Torrence responded in kind and began thrusting in earnest. Both had never felt this way before. The flame of desire raged within them both so powerfully that they thought their hearts and soul merged into one. They screamed out each other's name as they both crested. Torrence ended up emptying himself into her. He was spent, but did not collapse on Galeena. Galeena could not believe what had just happened too. "Whoa." she gasped. Torrence chuckled. "Definitely." he added before moving. He settled on his back and Galeena curled towards him. Torrence grinned and took her into his arms. "Galeena, that was amazing. I still can't believe you're here. How do you feel?" "Wonderful, but sore." By than, Torrence had enough strength to move. When he saw Galeena's virgin blood, he got up. "Where you going?" Galeena asked. "Restroom. Stay there and I'll be right back." True to his word, Torrence returned with a wash cloth. By this time, Galeena saw her little 'mess'. "Oh Torrence, I am sorry. I ruined your sheets!" "It's fine love. I'll get them replaced." Torrence replied before placing the wash cloth on Galeena's mound. After cleaning her up, he picked her up, walked over to the other side of the bed, and tossed her in it. Galeena laughed as Torrence joined her. It was late in the afternoon before Galeena and Torrence came out of his room. Galeena couldn't believe she'd taken another shower in one day. Torrence found that making love in the shower was an interesting experience. Galeena had wanted to learn as much as she could about Fraidel before traveling there. So Torrence though it be best for her to learn from Ankor about Fraidel in general, and he would teach her about his clan in particular. They found Ankor in his study and he had a large map of Fraidel on the wall. Ankor turned and smiled at them. "I can see you've settled things." he chuckled. Torrence grinned and Galeena blushed. "Ankor, I wish to learn more about Fraidel." Galeena said. "Well, it's a good thing I have this map out. Come here and I'll tell you about it." As the couple came closer, Ankor talked about the map. "This map shows where all the clans are, or where most of them are." "Why is that?" asked Galeena. "Two of the clans are hidden. In fact, the only way I am able to go to these clans is if someone from that clan escorts me." "What are these clans and how are they invisible?" "First is the Golden Dragon Clan. They live on an invisible island that moves through the skies of Fraidel. The second one is they Light Dragon Clan. They live in this mountain range, the Mysry Mountains, which is hidden by magic and fog." Ankor replied before pointing to the areas where the two clans preside. Unlike the these two areas, the others showed where the clans resided exactly. "Ankor, why have those two clans become hidden?" Torrence asked. "I've asked but they won't tell me." This surprised Torrence. In Fraidain history, all clans were close, even the two hidden ones. The fact that they became so isolated and won't even tell Ankor why was startling. Galeena saw the solemn faces of Ankor and Torrence and decided to move on. "What about the other clans?" she asked. Ankor nodded and showed her where the other clans were, including Torrence's clan. "Wow, all of these places sound great. Will I be able to see them all, at least the ones not hidden?" Both Torrence and Ankor looked at each other. "You will see Cystralla and the Enigma Cliffs. My clan is establishing an alliance with the Wind Dragon Clan and they've already made an alliance with the Silver Dragon Clan." Torrence said. Galeena sensed that there was something going on here, but decided not to press it . .for now. "Galeena, is there anything else you want to know about Fraidel in general?" Ankor asked her. Galeena thought about it and could not think of anything. "No sir." she replied. "Then, I shall leave you two and Torrence can teach you about his clan. In the meantime, I am contacting the Council and tell them when you're returning." Ankor said before leaving. Ankor headed back to his study and pulled out his talking crystal ball. If his timing was right, than he'd be catching the council when it had its weekly meeting. Murmuring a few words, the crystal ball lit up before showing Tealor's face. When the council's big talking crystal ball lit up and they saw it was Ankor, they were a little surprised. "Why Ankor, this is a pleasant surprise. How is his majesty?" Tealor asked. "He's doing just fine Sir Tealor. Sorry if I am interrupting your meeting, but I wanted to tell you we'll be arriving back on scheduled." "That's good to hear. How King Torrence been distracted enough?" "Oh very, but his ready to come home and take on his responsibilities as your king." "Excellent. Is there anything else?" "Yes, we'll be arriving in the castle courtyard around 8:00 pm. Also, can you send for Lagina please?" "Sure thing." Tealor replied before having a servant go fetch her. Soon Lagina arrived. "You requested my appearance, councilmen?" she asked. "Yes Lagina. Ankor wants to talk with you." Tealor answered. Lagina looked up and smiled. "Good day Ankor. How are things with you and my brother?" "Wonderful Lagina. I have a favor to ask you. Torrence and I will be bringing back a young lady with us. I want you to prepare a room for her near the king's chambers." Ankor could hear the Council gasp. Even the normally composed Lagina looked surprised. "All right sir. Anything else?" she managed to ask. "Yes. The young lady will need an entire wardrobe. Here are her basic measurements." Ankor said before giving them. After he gave them, he added, "You can get better measurements when she arrives." "Indeed sir. What shoe size does she wear?" "Oh, sorry Lagina. I don't know that one. You're just going to have to find out when she gets here. That'll be all." Lagina nodded and after curtseying to the council, she took her leave. Tealor turned back to Ankor's image and asked, "Who is this lady?" "Her name is Galeena. She's another reason why Torrence went to Earth." "And why is that?" "The boy has been dreaming of her. She's been dreaming of him." That caught the Council by surprise. "Are you telling us that she's Torrence's soul mate?" Ankor nodded. It was common for soul mates to dream of each other and all of the Fraidel clans knew about this concept. The strange thing was that they were from different planets. "Is this Galeena prepared to leave her home and come here?" Tealor asked. "Yes, and I would appreciate if you and the other council members would keep this fact to yourselves." "Which fact?" "That they're soul mates. I think Torrence should be the one to announce publicly about their connection." "Very well. We look forward to meeting her. Is that all Ankor?" "No Sir Tealor. Good day to you." Ankor said before leaving. Meanwhile, Torrence was teaching Galeena all about his kingdom. Galeena was soaking it all in like a sponge. Torrence couldn't have been more pleased. This would make the transition of living in another world easier for her. Torrence was beginning to wish Friday night was here so he could get her back to his home. Galeena was thinking the same thing. She also wondered if she was to get an engagement ring from him. She was too nervous to ask if it was a tradition though to get an engagement ring. It wasn't long before Ankor returned. "Torrence, I've informed the Council about Galeena. I've also had Lagina prepare a room for her and a new wardrobe." said Ankor. "Thanks." Torrence replied. "Um, but didn't this Lagina need my measurements?" asked Galeena. "I've given her you basic ones." "How'd you know that?" "I used my magic when you were asleep here." "Oh." Just than, the dinner bell rang. "Ah, dinner. Shall we?" Ankor motioned. Offering his arm, Torrence escorted Galeena into the dining room. The next few days were busy for everyone. Both Torrence and Ankor taught Galeena her duties when she would become Torrence's wife. Well, the only duties they were familiar with. Torrence told Galeena she would get more help from Lagina and Daphene. She was taught a bit about the royal family line and the current family members. It was a lot to take in, but Galeena was fascinated. "Are all royal families big?" she asked. "It depends on the dragon race. The more common the race, the larger the family can be." Ankor replied. "Is there a limit on how many children a royal couple can have? At least the in the big clans?" "That's a good question, but I don't remember." "I don't think there is one in my clan." Torrence replied. His mind wandered a bit as he imagined Galeena as a mother. He knew instantly she would be a wonderful mother. Galeena was thinking along the same lines as Torrence. She could picture him as a good father. Ankor looked at them and couldn't help but chuckle. No doubt they were thinking about kids. "All right you two, let's continue on." Ankor replied, getting the two's attention. Friday arrived sooner than they thought. The house was very busy getting ready for Ankor's departure. Ankor made sure he tied up loose ends. But for the most part he rested because not only did he need enough strength to teleport Torrence and Galeena, but he had to have enough strength to take all the things they were bringing back, which included Galeena's collection. Both Torrence and Galeena got their things together before spending time together. They never ran out of things to say. "If there's one thing I will miss from this world Galeena, it's the showers." Torrence said causing Galeena to laugh. "Does Fraidel even have a plumbing or drainage system?" "Yes, we do, but it's totally different from this world's." "How so?" "It be better if I showed you. You're going to get a whole tour of the castle." "I look forward to it." It was then she remembered something. "Torrence, what is the rarest dragon race? I've been meaning to ask." "Well, now I'd say it's a tie between the Golden dragons and the Light dragons. And that's only because no one has seen them for ages, except Ankor. Originally though, the rarest was the Purple dragon because only one can exist." That caught Galeena's attention. "Really? Than what happens when one dyes?" "Another is born to any race." "Is there one now?" "No. The last Purple dragon vanished a long time ago, along with it's partner, the Moonstone holder. The Moonstone vanished as well. No one knows why any of them vanished, not even Ankor. The Moonstone was said to be more powerful than all the other stones combined and it's holder the most powerful being on Fraidel." Galeena's eyes opened wide. That was the final piece she was missing from her collection. She wondered what happened to the dragon and the holder. The thought soon left her mind when Torrence leaned in and kissed her. That evening they ate their last meal, but only a light one for Ankor had contacted the Council one last time and they said there would be a banquet celebrating Torrence's return. After dinner they got ready. Ankor changed Torrence's appearance back to original one. Galeena found she liked his appearance better this way. Ankor also changed their clothes to Fraidel garb. Galeena couldn't help but admire the simple and elegant gown she wore. It was a pale blue dress with a braided cord around her waist. Torrence liked how she looked too. "So are we ready?" Ankor asked the couple. They were outside in the courtyard. The full moon was shining brightly. Both Torrence and Galeena nodded. The three waved to the house staff one last time. Ankor said a few words before casting a protective ring. As the magic and air started to stir, Galeena glanced up at the moon to see a shadow come across it. Feeling a sense of dread, she tried moving out of Torrence's arms, but he held on tight. "He needs support." Galeena whispered. Torrence looked at the wizard and saw he was struggling to hold the spell together. Nodding to Galeena, Torrence and her moved closer and each placed a hand on Ankor's shoulders. Ankor was a bit surprised, but grateful. He did not want to admit it, but he needed the support. Something was trying to break his hold. But with Torrence and Galeena's help, he could overcome it. With that, he placed another spell that separated them from the staff. Finally, he casts the final spell and they were gone in an instant. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: From here on out, the whole story will take place on Fraidel. And this story is far from over too hehe. Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 05 Pt. 03 A/N: Oh man I am so sorry people. Here's the last part of Ch. 5. This also signifies the end of the first part of the story which focused around Torrence and Galeena meeting and all that. I also have an important announcement too. I am moving into the college dorms at my university. Normally I use my comp to work on my stories, but I am leaving it home due to it being too much of a hassle and I am going to be using my laptop. I purchased my laptop through the college and it came with restrictions. One of those was blocking 'inappropriate websites'. And unfortunately this site is included because of the adult content. You can be sure I'll be working on this story, but I won't be able to upload it to this site unless I come home for the weekend. I am going to upload this story to Facebook though since that site is allowed. I'll post a link to it on my profile. Anyway, sorry for the delay. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first thing Galeena heard when they reappeared was cheering. She also felt lightheaded. Luckily, Torrence had a strong arm wrapped around her. Torrence looked at Galeena and then to Ankor. Both looked worn out. Only Ankor tried to mask it. Torrence saw that they were in the courtyard of his home. And it was filled with numerous folk. Torrence guessed the whole kingdom was here. The crowd eventually stops cheering. By this time, Galeena recovered her wits. She turned to look at Torrence. He looked at her and gave her a reassuring smile. Soon the crowd opened a path and Torrence's family came forward along with their dragon partners, including Cerulos. Galeena could not help but gasped in awe. It was one thing to see dragons in her dreams. It was another to see them in person. She managed to tear her eyes away from them to look at the people coming towards them. Torrence kept an arm around Galeena's waist and moved towards his family. Galeena felt nervous. The first to greet them was Lagina and Searon. Torrence had to remove Galeena's arms from around his waist so he could hug his sister. Brother and sister embraced. Torrence was so happy to be home. "Welcome back brother." Lagina said as she drew back. "Thank-you." Torrence said before shaking Searon's hand. "Everything is in order." Searon said. Torrence nodded. "Uncle Tor!" five voices shouted. Suddenly, Torrence was tackled by five kids. Torrence laughed as he looked at and hugged his nieces and nephews. Sirus was the eldest at five. He looked exactly like Searon. Both had royal blue hair and dark brown eyes. Next was Sean who was four. He did not look like any of his parents, rather he looked like Searon's father with golden brown hair and hazel eyes. The triplet girls were three and identical, save for the highlights in their hair. Each looked like Lagina too. Their names were Cypress, Jade, and Pearl. All girls had sapphire blue hair only Cypress had light blue highlights, Jade had light green highlights, and Pearl had white highlights. Searon laughed and Lagina sighed as their kids started bombarding Torrence with questions and comments. "Children!" Lagina finally barked. Lagina rarely raised her voice so it was very effective when she did. All kids went silent. "Sorry Torrence, but they really wanted to be here when you got back." Searon said. "It's fine." Torrence grinned. Daphene was next to greet him. Torrence saw she had some color back in her cheeks, much to his relief. After her was Meridian, who greeted him with her original enthusiasm by jumping into his arms. Torrence was glad to see some of her spark back. Last to greet him was Tidus and Cerulos. "Training has been going fine. The question is have you been training?" Tidus asked. Torrence laughed at his cousin's question. "Of course I have." he said before looking at his partner. "It's great to see you again." Cerulos smiled and nodded. "Torrence!" someone shouted. It turned out to be Verdius as he tackled Torrence and licked him. All dragons groaned. Would he ever learn? "Oh, I am so glad you're back! Hey, who's she?" Verdius asked. Torrence managed to turn and see Verdius point to Galeena, who had not only hanged back, but was hiding behind Ankor. "If you move, than I'll tell you." Torrence said. The young dragon nodded and moved. Torrence got up and went to take Galeena's hand. "It's okay." he whispered in her ear. Taking a deep breath, Galeena let him lead her to his family. "Everyone, this is Galeena. Galeena, this is my younger sister Lagina and her husband Searon." Torrence said. Lagina came forward and took Galeena's other hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Galeena." she said before letting her husband she her hand. "And these five rascals are Lagina and Searon's kids. Their names are Sirus, Sean, Cypress, Jade, and Pearl." Torrence introduced. The boys bowed and the triplets curtseyed which surprised Galeena a bit considering how they greeted their uncle. Galeena curtseyed back. "This is Daphene my sister." Torrence said next. Remembering telling her that Daphene was his late brother's wife, Galeena looked at Niron's widow. Daphene smiled as she shook Galeena's hand, but Galeena could feel her inner sadness. "Welcome to our home." Daphene said. After her was Meridian. Before Torrence could introduce her, Meridian rushed forward and hugged Galeena. Galeena was a bit surprised by the young lady's exuberance. "Hi! I am Meridian, Torrence's youngest sibling." she said after pulling back. Galeena smiled. Looking at the two, Torrance was hoping Galeena would help fill part of the hole of Meridian's heart where their father use to be. Next, Galeena was introduced to Tidus. Than she was introduced to the royal dragons, starting with Cerulos and ending with Verdius. Galeena really liked Verdius. "Are you anyone's partner yet?" she asked. "No, but I will be soon. Just don't know who." "Well, whoever gets you will be lucky." Than to the surprise of everyone else, Verdius blushed. Having sea green scales, it was pretty obvious. "Thank you." Verdius managed to say. "You're welcome." Galeena replied. Everyone else smiled and giggled a bit. After introductions were made, most of the crowd dispersed to get ready for the banquet. The council approached to greet Torrence and welcomed Galeena. "I sure hope you've rested enough your majesty and are ready to rule now." replied Tealor. It was the first time Torrence had been addressed that way and it caught him a bit off guard. Nether less, he recovered quickly. "Yes sir." he replied. Tealor grinned before looking at Galeena. "And I hope you enjoy yourself tonight my dear." Galeena smiled. "Thank you." With that they went inside the castle. Galeena's eyes took in all the décor and space. It was almost overwhelming. "Galeena? I will see you soon all right? Lagina and Daphene will show you to your quarters and help you get ready for tonight." Torrence told her. "All right." she replied. As much as Torrence wanted to kiss her, he knew it was not an appropriate time. Suddenly, Meridian spoke up. "Can I accompany them too?" Torrence turned sharply to his sister and smiled. "Sure. Is that all right with you Galeena?" "The more the merrier." Galeena smiled. And with that, the family parted ways. Lagina led the way and talked briefly about the parts of the castle as they headed for the royal family's quarters. "Your rooms are next to my brother's." Lagina replied as they reached Galeena's quarters. "Will that be all right?" Galeena asked. "Ankor requested it." Lagina still did not know what Galeena's relationship with Torrence was, but if she had faith in her observations, and she did, than the two had an intimate one. And that they were in love with each other. It warmed her heart to see Torrence smile like that. And the more Lagina watched Galeena, the more she liked her. Daphene and Meridian were thinking along the same lines as Lagina. Only Meridian was a bit more vocal about it. "So are you going to marry my brother." "Meridian!" both Daphene and Lagina snapped. "It was a simple question." Galeena had turned red and did not know what to say. "Meridian, you will find out soon enough. Remember it is Torrence's job to announce it if they are engaged." Lagina said. "Oh yeah." "Anyway, here's your quarters Galeena." Lagina said before opening the door. Galeena could not stop herself from gasping as she entered her first room, which was a combination of a sitting room and a bed chamber. It was like walking into a tropical lagoon with colors of peach, crème, sea green, and turquoise. "It's wonderful!" Galeena replied. The three other ladies smiled. Lagina rang for some service. "We're going to undress you now and get your exact measurements. We'll also pick out a gown for you to wear." she said. "Oh, you mean this one won't do?" Galeena asked. The three giggled. "No, it's quite casual." Lagina replied. "Oh." They got Galeena's exact measurements and foot size. Since they did not have enough time to fix Galeena's dress manually, they did a quick spell to make it fit perfectly. She also borrowed a pair of Daphene's slippers since they had the same size. The three left her with her maid to finish her hair since they had to get ready too. Thirty minutes later, Ankor showed up to escort her. "My dear, you look splendid." he said, wearing his formal robes, which were blue and silver. Galeena smiled. Her hair was pulled up and was secured by clips with curly locks of hair spiraling over the back of her head. She wore a sapphire blue gown with several petticoats underneath. "Ankor, I cannot help but feel nervous. What if I mess up or fall flat on my face?" Galeena asked. "You're doing marvelous dear. Half of the kingdom is already enchanted by you." "But I have not met half of the kingdom." "Hehe, I could feel their feelings dear. A blind man could sense the love between you and Torrence." Galeena blushed, but smiled. "Shall we join the celebration now?" Ankor asked. Galeena nodded, placed her hand on his arm, and together they left. Galeena had no idea what to expect when she and Ankor were formally announced, but she was not ready for the applause that followed. The reception was indescribable. Galeena blushed, but managed to grin. She really was not use to so much attention. She did not even get so much attention when she showed her work because she mostly got individual attention. This was something different all together. Ankor patted her hand in encouragement before leading her to where Torrence's family sat. He sat right next to her. Galeena saw that the other seat next to her was the head of the table and it was empty. She assumed Torrence sat there. Soon, trumpets announced Torrence's arrival. "Presenting his majesty, the Ruler of the Water Dragon Clan, King Torrence Winston of Ceanus!" the announcer said. Everyone stood up as Torrence entered. They also bowed or curtseyed. Galeena could not keep her eyes off him. He was every inch a king. His sapphire blue hair was pulled back. He wore a royal blue tunic with metals of his rank. He had a huge midnight blue cape on and black trousers and boots on. He had the king's crown on his head, the Waterstone scepter in one hand, and his sword on his side. His green gaze swept through the entire room before settling on Galeena. It suddenly dawned on her that she was going to marry this man. It was one thing to promise herself to a man, it was another to promise herself to a king. Galeena felt unworthy at that moment. Torrence was every inch a royal, even without his royal attire. She was basically a commoner. She suddenly wanted to bolt, but Ankor must have picked up on her nervous energy and placed his hands on hers. "It will be all right." he whispered in her ear. Galeena nodded and tried to calm down. "You may be seated." Torrence instructed. He was having his own internal struggle. Galeena was enchanting in the clothes she wore. Torrence was tempted to run down there, toss her over his shoulder, and find the nearest bedroom. But he remembered his duty. He made his way through the room before sitting at the head of the main table. Looking at Galeena, he noticed how nervous she was. She was not even looking at him. Before he could talk to her though, he had to do one last thing. "Let the feast begin." Servants appeared with huge platters of food on trays that rolled out before placing them on tables. Torrence turned to Galeena and asked quietly, "Is something wrong Galeena?" Galeena was startled by his question and looked at his concerned face. In a low voice she asked, "Are you sure you want to marry me?" Torrence could not hide his surprise, but smiled warmly. "Oh yes I am sure. Why do you ask?" "Well, you're royalty and I'm . . ." "Galeena, I could care less what your ranking is. I love you. And besides, I may be king, but I am still the same man you've always known." Galeena looked into his eyes and saw he was telling the truth. Still, she wanted to prove to his subjects that she was worthy of him. The meal was exquisite. Galeena had never ate so much in her life. She enjoyed Torrence's family too. It was a little strange though talking to dragons. The one she felt the most at ease with though was Verdius. She thought it might have been because he was not as large as his brother Skyro or his cousin Cerulos. But no, that was not it. Despite his exuberant nature, Verdius had a sweet side and Galeena felt a kinship with him. She was talking to Verdius when Torrence stood up and got everyone's attention. All conversation stopped and everyone turned to him. "My people. I want to thank everyone for coming tonight and for the warm welcome home. I personally want to thank my family for taking care of things while I was gone. Now I want to tell all of you where I went and why I went there. The place I went to is another planet called Earth. I had been dreaming of it. I've also been dreaming of someone else. And she is sitting right next to me. Her name is Galeena Stellar and she is the real reason why I went to Earth. She has come to be the most precious person I've ever met. Now in front of you and the kingdom, I shall make this proposal." Galeena had already been shocked by his announcement, and when she saw Torrence kneel in front of her, she nearly fainted. Torrence took her hand and said aloud, "Galeena, I know we have already made our promises in private, but now I want to make it official." Galeena did not know if she could take anymore surprises. Well, she was about to get one more. Torrence pulled out a little box out of his pocket and opened it up. It was the ring Daphene gave him. Galeena had never seen anything so beautiful. Torrence took a deep breath and asked, "I shall ask you again my love. Will you marry me?" It took Galeena a few heartbeats to respond. "Yes." The applause was instant. People cheered and dragons roared. But Torrence and Galeena were oblivious to the raucous as he placed the ring on her finger before pulling her into his arms and kissing her in front of everyone. The noise became even louder when he did that. The two kissed for a couple minutes before Torrence pulled back. If it was not for Torrence's strong arms holding Galeena, she would have fallen to the ground. He kissed the wind out of her. Torrence chuckled at her expression as he helped her sit down. It took Galeena a few minutes before she could gather her wits. By then the crowd had died down. The meal continued. Galeena found herself talking to Daphene. "Um, do you mind if I ask you something personal?" she asked. "You may." Daphene replied. "Torrence told me you were expecting. How far along are you?" "Hehe, five months." "Really? You look great. I would not have known." Indeed, Daphene was tall at five feet and nine inches and barely showed. Even though she was three months pregnant when Torrence left, time moves quicker on Fraidel so by the time Torrence returned, she was five months pregnant. "I sure hope your baby is doing well." Galeena commented. "I do too." "Um, are you able to tell?" "Yes. The Water Dragon Clan specializes in healing techniques and other health issues so there are healers who look after pregnancies. I have some of the best and so far they say the baby is fine." "Can you tell if it's a boy or a girl?" "Unfortunately no. But that's okay." During this time, Torrence was talking to Tidus. "The yearly conference will be soon." Tidus said. "Yes, I almost forgotten it." Torrence replied. "You don't sound thrilled." "It is because tensions are running high. Sir Tealor informed me that the Red Dragon Clan sent their condolences about my father and brother and their partners, but made it perfectly clear they had no involvement with their deaths. And they found out we've made an alliance with the Wind Dragon Clan. To say they are not happy would be an understatement." "Why is that?" "Don't you remember that Rowan's father died over there last year? While the Red Dragon Clan blames the Wind Dragon Clan for his death, Zephyr swears his clan had nothing to do with it." Zephyr was the Wind Dragon Clan's leader. "Things are certainly a mess." Tidus added. Torrence nodded. He looked over at Galeena, who was talking to Meridian about wedding plans. Torrence knew he was going to have to tell her about the current troubles eventually and was dreading it. Galeena was the kind of person who worried about others. But at the same time, she would not like being left in the dark. Torrence remembered hearing from his father on how his mother got after him for not keeping her informed of his problems for marriage was a partnership in her eyes. Torrence looked over at Meridian. There was another complication. Meridian and Rowan had feelings for each other and if something went wrong, Meridian's heart would be torn apart again. He did not want that to happen. "You look serious. Is something wrong?" someone asked. Torrence turned to see it was Galeena who asked him that. "Yes, but I'll tell you later okay?" he replied. Galeena nodded and let the matter drop for now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later that night Galeena laid in bed awake. She could not fall asleep. Too much was going through her mind. Suddenly, the door to her room opened. Galeena sat up and looked at who came into her room. She saw that it was Torrence. "Can't sleep?" Torrence asked as he approached the bed. "Yes, I have a lot on my mind. You could not sleep too?" "No, I could not sleep. Can I join you?" Galeena blushed and said, "Yes." After joining her in bed, Torrence gathered her into his arms and she snuggled into his embrace. "Torrence? What was troubling you earlier?" "Oh, the growing tensions between the clans. It's a complicated situation and I don't know how to handle it yet." "Aw, well my granny use to tell me that if you cannot fix anything at that moment, than do no worry about it until you can." "Hehe, so you are saying not to worry for now and try to get some sleep huh?" "Yes." "All right, but for now . . ." Torrence said before moving on top of her and kissing her deeply. "Do you have any objections?" Torrence asked as he pulled up a bit. "None in the least." Galeena giggled, her face already flushed. Torrence chuckled before taking her back to that place where only lovers went. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: Again sorry for the inconsistency of posting. At least I didn't leave ya'll on a cliff hanger right? Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 06 Pt. 02 A/N: Egad! Okay people, the reason why I have been absent for a very long time is because of college. I was in last semesters and all my creative energy was focused on that since I was getting my Bachelor in Fine Arts. Needless to say I finally graduated, but want to go to grad school now. Several people have contacted me asking if I was going to keep doing the story. I do plan on continuing this story mark my words. I just apologize for the inconsistency of my submissions. I finally got over a hill too. I always connect major points in the story together somehow and those parts always are the hardest to write because connections are so important. Anyway, here's the next part of Ch. 6. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Galeena could not believe how big the palace was. The first area they started in was the family area. Galeena was shown Lagina and Searon's living quarters. Nearby was one of many nurseries. The triplets were there with their two nannies. The girls asked their mother to play with them and Lagina promised she would after lunch. Lagina said her sons were with Searon doing outdoor activities. "He always makes sure to spend time with all our children." Lagina said after they left the nursery. "Do you both get alone time?" Galeena asked. "Oh yes, but it is hard sometimes." "I always remind her to make sure they get alone time once a week." Added Lagina's dragon partner, a dark blue dragon named Coreal. Galeena noted that Coreal didn't talk much, but when she did, it sounded meaningful. It turned out that Coreal was Cerulos's sister from another batch and was older than him. Both siblings were very similar in disposition. Galeena had asked Ankor back on Earth what happened to the dragons when their partners died and he said they still remained part of the royal family, but normally lived elsewhere. Dragons were considered citizens and could do pretty much what they wanted to do. No species was more important on Fraidel and that was something Galeena wished would happen on earth. Lagina was thinking about her future sister and wondered what it was about Galeena that made her so at ease and felt she could tell her anything. It was unlike her really for she was pretty reserved when it came to getting to know people she just met. Normally she was the listener rather than the conversationalist. The next place they visited was Daphene's quarters, but she wasn't there at the moment. "Where is she?" Galeena asked. "Today she has her monthly check up with our Natal Healers." Lagina explained. Next were Meridian's chambers. Lagina told Galeena that Meridian barely spent any time indoors and was most likely flying with her partner, a cerulean blue male dragon named Icarus. Icarus use to be like Verdius, but had mellowed out a bit and was fiercely protective and watchful of his partner. They headed to the king's area and Galeena was shown her new private studio. Apparently, Torrence told his family she painted. "I hope to see your work soon Galeena. Torrence said you're magnificent." Lagina said, causing Galeena to blush. Next was the royal family's music room. Galeena instantly gravitated to the grand piano. "Do you know how to play?" Lagina asked. "Yes I do. My mother first taught me and then my granny did. However, I haven't played much in the past three years." Lagina nodded. She was tempted to ask why, but felt it wasn't her business. Verdius wanted Galeena to play now, but Galeena promised she would another time. During this time, Ankor was content to be silent, adding a few words here and there. He was enjoying watching Galeena's reaction to her new home. After leaving the royal family's wing, they toured the Council's wing as well as their families' living quarters. Time passed by quickly for Galeena. By the time they saw the kitchens, armory, galleries, servant quarters, and the plumbing, it was already time for lunch. Once again Galeena found herself eating with Torrence's family, only this time Ankor was with them. "How are you enjoying the tour so far Galeena?" Torrence asked her. "Oh, it's wonderful! The people here are so nice." Galeena smiled. "I am glad. Next you'll be shown the palace grounds. Since Lagina promised to play with my nieces after lunch, you'll have to put up with my company." "Oh really?" laughed Galeena. She was very happy at that moment. Torrence was just as happy. Meridian decided to join them and Ankor opted out this time saying he wanted to rest for a bit. This statement earned a worried look from Galeena, but Ankor assured her he was okay. "You try being my age and walking all over the palace." Ankor teased, causing Galeena to giggle. After lunch, Torrence showed Galeena the palace grounds with Meridian and their partners. First were the gardens, which Galeena loved. Most of the flora she had never seen before. It was breathtaking! Next came the orchards. Galeena was surprised to see some fruits she recognized. She was allowed to try a few of the fruits she never seen before. Her favorite was a white, tender fruit shaped like a starfish called an acunas. It was very sweet and reminded her of a kiwi. After that, Torrence showed her the training grounds and the smith. "I think it is abut time we head back. Tallisa and Tamera should be here soon." Torrence suggested. "Sure. I can't wait to meet them." Galeena replied. "Oh you'll love them Galeena! They're so much fun!" exclaimed Meridian. Galeena smiled as they head back to the palace. When they got back, there was some commotion. "Looks like they are already here." commented Torrence. A servant approached them and told Torrence that Lady Tamera and Lady Tallisa were there and were asking for him. "They are in your study your majesty." he said. "Thank you." Torrence replied before leading Galeena, Meridian, and their partners to his study. "Torrence, I know this sounds random, but I have a silly question." Galeena said. "Sure." "I know all the doors have to be large enough for dragons to go through them, but how is it we're able to open them? They look very heavy." "That's not a silly question Galeena. I don't know exactly how we're able to open them either. I have heard that the wood that is used is enchanted where it can feel lite or heavy when you need it to be." "Aw." Soon they make it to Torrence's study where they hear female chatter on the other side of the door. Torrence entered followed by Meridian and their partners, but Galeena lingered at the doorway, too nervous to go in. Verdius remained by her side and for once kept silent. Galeena peaked in to see two identical ladies with bright green hair and hazel eyes greet Torrence warmly. Meridian came forward and hugged the twins. "Got here as quickly as possible cousin!" said one wearing what appeared to be a high fashion traveling dress, at least by Fraidel standards. To Galeena, it looked something from the Victorian era because both gowns had high necklines, bustles, and corsets on. The only difference between them was the coloring. One was blue and the other had green and gold on it. The one who just spot was in the blue. "I thank you both for coming on short notice, Tamera. Your rooms are ready." Torrence said. "Oh we know darling Torrence. The servants have already taken our things there." the other one replied. That must be Tallisa, Galeena thought. "So where's the bride Torrence?" Tamera asked. Torrence was a bit surprised when Galeena did not come in. He turned to Galeena and called out, "Come in dear. It's okay." Galeena nodded and slowly came in. Up closer, she saw the twins had one physical difference. Tallisa had dimples and Tamera had a tiny mole above her right eyebrow. The twins and Galeena curtseyed after Torrence introduced them. He also introduced the ladies' partners, two female dragons, Janessa and Jasmine, who were sisters as well. "Oh Galeena, we are so pleased to meet you!" Tallisa said, taking one of Galeena's hands. "Indeed! We were so surprised when we learned Torrence was getting married." Tamera added, taking her other hand. "We were totally shocked though when we were told how soon the wedding was!" "But now that we've met you, we can why." Galeena blushed causing the twins to giggle. "Ladies, give Galeena some air to breath." Torrence said, seeing how overwhelmed Galeena looked. Galeena recovered and responded, "Oh no they're wonderful. And I really appreciate you two helping out." "Oh you are a dear, aren't you?" Tallisa said, patting Galeena's cheek. "Your wedding is going to be the best one we've done!" added Tamera. Galeena noticed that when one spoke, the other added something. She heard that twins sometimes finished each other thoughts too. The twins also seemed to be on a constant sugar high. She was beginning to see why Titus avoided them. It was probably because of their high energy that wore people out. Still, in Galeena's opinion, this high energy would be a good thing for they would be able to get things done quickly at least. She just hoped they could do things efficiently. "Galeena has never been to a wedding." Meridian commented, bringing Galeena's attention back to the present. "My goodness! That's a shame." Tamera responded. "Well, don't worry Galeena. We're all going to have so much fun!" Tallisa exclaimed. "I look forward to it." Galeena said honestly. "Good! Now why don't we get started?" "But, don't you want to rest from your trip?" "Nonsense! We have a wedding to plan and the sooner we start, the better. Meridian, would you like to help?" Tamera asked. "Definitely, if it's okay with Galeena." "Yes, it's fine with me." "Can I help please?" begged Verdius. Both Tamera and Tallisa looked at him incredulously. "You?" they both asked simultaneously. "Why not? I am Galeena's partner." Now the twins were flabbergasted. Torrence laughed at their expressions because he never saw the twins speechless before. Galeena finally spoke up. "Is there a problem ladies?" By then, the two recovered. "I guess we have no choice but to let him help since he's your partner, Galeena." Tallisa said. "Oh thank you! I am sure Verdius will be very helpful." Both twins shared a smile. They were beginning to understand how Torrence fell for this woman. She was kindness personified. "We'll go and take this conversation to our chambers now. Torrence, you and Cerulos won't be needed yet." Tamera said. "Very well, but if you do need me, I'll be out looking over the potential dragoon recruits. Dinner will be ready at 6 pm, so try to remember the time." Torrence said with a smile. "Of course! One must eat in order to have energy." Replied Tallisa. "And we're going to need every ounce of energy to plan this wedding." Tamera followed. "Well ladies, have fun and I'll see you later." Torrence said before leaving with Cerulos. "Now than, shall we get started?" suggested Tallisa. Since Tallisa and Tamera were family, they stayed in the royal family wing. Their quarters were right next to Galeena's. They also required another room for all their wedding plans. Galeena learned that the twins had one of the most successful event businesses in all of Fraidel. Their main competition came from the Fire Dragon Clan and Silver Dragon Clan. Once the ladies were settled in the twins' parlor, Tamera and Tallisa asked what Galeena wanted for her wedding. "Do you have a theme yet Galeena?" asked Tamera. "Well, this is going to sound corny, but as a little girl, I always dreamt of having a dragon themed wedding." Galeena replied. The other three ladies giggled. "Oh, you're definitely going to have a dragon wedding dear. There's no avoiding that." commented Tallisa. "Do you have a color scheme in mind?" asked Tamera. "Well, my favorite colors have always been violet and blue. I guess this wedding is sounding traditional so far huh?" Galeena asked. "Nothing wrong with tradition Galeena." answered Tallisa. "How about adding another color or two that's different from our traditional colors to make things interesting?" suggested Meridian. "That's a splendid idea Meridian. And I have the best color in mind. How does silver feel to you Galeena?" asked Tamera. "I like it. It'll give the wedding a winter feel to it." Galeena replied. "I think that'll be a good overall theme." commented Meridian. "I think so too. Winter was always my favorite season." "We will that our overall theme than!" Tallisa said. At that moment, they heard a knock on the door. Daphene and Lagina came in. "Hello, we heard that Tallisa and Tamera arrived. Can we join you?" Daphene asked. "Certainly cousin, come on in!" encouraged Tamera. "We just got started planning for Galeena's wedding." Meridian said. "Looks like we got here just in time than." grinned Lagina as she and Daphene sat down. Their partners joined the other dragons. "So what have you talked about?" asked Daphene. "Galeena wants to have a winter themed wedding with dragons. We just decided on colors. They are blue, violet, and silver." replied Tallisa. "That sounds lovely." commented Lagina. "And now that we have the theme, we can pick out all the other things." said Tamera. "Like what?" asked Galeena. "Oh, food, flowers, music, decorations, wedding attire, and other things." answered Tallisa. "That sounds like a lot of work." "Oh it is, but we'll get it done in record time!" Tamera replied. "I sure hope so." commented Daphene. "Have faith cousin! Tamera and I love challenges as well as our partners. Right Janessa?" Tallisa asked her partner. "Of course! Life would be very dull without them!" agreed the sea green dragon. This caused Galeena to laugh a bit. It would seem that planning this wedding was going to be enjoyable. "Now shall we get going?" suggested Tamera. "Going?" asked Galeena. "Mmhmm, first we need to is the design of your dress." Tallisa answered. "And to do that, we're going to see the seamstresses. They always have great ideas!" added Jasmine, a royal blue dragon. "Okay, than lead the way ladies." Galeena said. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: The next part is when we finally meet some of the other rulers of the other clans, except the Gold and Light Dragon Clans. You'll see some fireworks there for sure hehe. Dragons of Fraidel Ch. 06 Pt. 01 A/N: Oh gosh I finally updated. I am at another part of the story where it's slowed paced so I need to give myself an extra kick just write stuff. The good news is I don't leave you on a cliffhanger this time. This here is the first part to Ch. 6. Enjoy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter VI The Council Of Fraidel Galeena woke up slowly. Turning, she saw that she was alone. She touched where Torrence laid and felt that it was still warm. She looked at the windows on the other side of the bedroom. Sunlight was peeking through the curtains. That meant it was still early. At that moment, Galeena remembered she was not wearing anything. Also, at the same time she remembered last night. Galeena stretched a little and sighed. She still could not believe how much her life had changed in just a few weeks. Normally she would not have liked so many changes in such a short time, but she did not regret any of the decisions she made, not for one moment. Her thoughts were interrupted though when her stomach growled. This surprised Galeena, considering all the food she ate last night. Getting up, she found her nightgown on the floor and put it on before finding a robe on a chair. After putting it on, Galeena tried to remember what to do next. Than she remembered that Lagina told her to ring for her maid if she needed anything. She pulled on a chord to ring for the maid. A few minutes later, her maid appeared. "Good morning miss. Is there anything you need?" she asked. "Yes, I am pretty hungry." "Breakfast will be ready in an hour." "Oh, will it be served where I ate last night?" "No miss. That place is only used for banquets. Most meals are served in the royal family dining hall. His majesty said you may eat here if you like or you can eat with the rest of the royal family." "I'd like to eat with the family please." "Very well miss. Now, shall we get you ready for the day?" "Yes please." After a quick bath, Galeena was dressed in a sky blue and golden yellow day gown with a square cut neckline. Her hair was braided in every which way before being pulled into one braid that was wrapped into a bun at the knap of her neck. She was escorted to where breakfast was being served. Searon, Lagina, and Daphene were already there. "Good morning Galeena. I am surprised you got up early." Lagina greeted her. "I have always been an early riser. Where is everyone else?" Galeena asked as she sat down. "Torrence and his men just finished training so they're cleaning up right now. But do not worry, Torrence and Titus will be here soon. And Meridian is always late." "What about the royal dragons and Ankor?" "The royal dragons hunt together and Ankor is still asleep so he won't be joining us this morning." This concerned Galeena. Last night's activities must have really worn him, more so than she thought. Soon Torrence and Titus arrived in casual attire, having already cleaned up. "Good morning everyone." Torrence greeted as he walked up to the table. "Good morning." he family said. Then without warning, Torrence leaned down and kissed Galeena. As Torrence pulled back, he saw her face turn red. "Good morning love." he said. "Good morning." she managed to say. Breakfast was about to be served when Meridian rushed into the room. "I am sorry I am late." she gasped. Lagina sighed and said, "Meridian, you were already late so there was no point in rushing down here. Meridian frowned, but said nothing as she sat down. Galeena enjoyed breakfast. The more she got to know Torrence's family, the more she liked them too. "Galeena, after breakfast would you like to take a tour of the palace?" Lagina asked. "Yes I would." Galeena replied. "Not yet Lagina." Torrence said. "You have something else planned brother?" Lagina asked. "Yes, I am going to assemble all free and available dragons. Galeena needs a partner." "Oh yes she does." "I do?" Galeena asked. "Yes, since you are to be my wife, you need to have your own partner." Torrence replied. "I can't wait." Galeena wondered how a partner was picked. Did she simply pick one, or was it something else? She would find out eventually. "So when's the wedding?" Meridian suddenly asked. "Meridian, you'll find out when the banns are posted. And even then it might be up to a year." Daphene said. Galeena nearly choked on her juice. "A year?" she asked. Well, that was a normal waiting time, but Galeena was worried. She already had unprotected sex with Torrence and it was around her peak time during her cycle. She always knew when she was at her most fertile because she had a very regular cycle. "Actually Daphene, the banns will be posted tomorrow and the wedding will be a month from that date." Torrence replied. He had seen Galeena's face and knew why she was concerned. It was the reason why he wanted a short engagement. Plus, he did not want to wait long anyway. Now it was Lagina and Daphene's turn to look shock. "One month! That's impossible! Do you realize how hard it is to plan a wedding? Especially a royal one?" the usually calm Lagina asked loudly. "Calm down dearest. I am sure your brother has a very good reason for this decision." Searon said gently. Lagina took a deep breath. "Forgive me, that was out of hand." she said. "Still, Torrence, you are asking a lot out of us." Daphene commented. "I know. That's why I've contacted Tamera and Tallisa for help. They'll be here this afternoon." Torrence replied. This announcement earned a groan from Titus. "You are just now telling me this?" he replied. "Yes, and if anyone can help plan a wedding on short notice, it's them." "Hmm, Tamera and Tallisa are Titus's older sisters if I remember correctly." Galeena recalled from the time she learned about the royal family line. "You have a good memory Galeena." Torrence grinned. "Well, I am glad I am getting all this help with the wedding for I've never planned one or even been to one." Everyone else looked surprised. "Than this wedding will be extra special than." Meridian grinned. "Galeena, I am sorry your family won't be able to come. I wish your parents could be there." Daphene said. Her words triggered something in Galeena and she suddenly remembered the time when she was looking at her parents' wedding album with her parents. She had been six at the time. "Wow, mommy, you sure look pretty. What are those things on your back and why don't you have them now?" a young Galeena asked. "Hehe, those are wings, Leena. But they aren't real so that is why I am not wearing them now." Galeena's mother said. Harmony Stellar was an elegant woman and it was obvious where Galeena inherited most of her looks from. However, Harmony's eyes a brilliant violet color. Galeena got her blue eyes from her father, Christopher Stellar. His hair was blue-black and it always seemed to shine. For a moment one would never guess that this level-headed businessman was a total romantic. "Daddy, what are you?" Galeena asked him. "I am a king sweet pea. And your momma is a faerie queen. That's why she had wings on." Christopher explained. "Ooooohhh, can I have wings when I get married? Only I want dragon wings!" "Sure thing darling and your daddy and I will be there." her mother said hugging her. Galeena's memory brought tears to her eyes. "Galeena, are you okay?" Torrence asked, bringing her attention back to the present. "Oh, yes, I'll be okay. Just thinking of my parents." Galeena answered. "Why can't Galeena's parents come?" Meridian asked. Suddenly, Torrence remembered that he never told his family about Galeena's parents. "Shall I tell them love?" Torrence asked Galeena. She nodded. "Galeena's parents died when she was ten years old." The mood in the room suddenly became more somber. "Oh, Galeena, we're so sorry." Lagina replied. "It's okay." Galeena said. "Can I make a suggestion?" asked Meridian. "Sure." "Well, traditionally we always have empty seats for departed loved ones. We were already going to have seats for our parents and Niron, so how about we add two more for Galeena's parents." "Why Meridian, that's a fine idea." Lagina replied, very proud of her sister at that moment. "Yes it is. Thank you." smiled Galeena. Meridian smiled back, glad she got Galeena to smile. She also wondered if Galeena had anyone to cry to when her parents died. She found out Galeena had no siblings and Meridian could not imagine growing up with no brothers or sisters. Her siblings, especially Lagina, had been lifesavers in the past few months. They had been there when she needed to cry, even Torrence. He came to her room after last night's banquet to check on her and she was grateful for that. And of course, there was Rowan. He had been writing to her more often since he learned of her loss. And they had been dreaming of each other too, so there was no doubt they were soul mates. However, both agreed to keep it to themselves until tensions died down, but that could be awhile yet and Rowan was starting to think it was best to tell their loved ones now. It was complicated, but Meridian the same happiness as her siblings had. Soon, they finished breakfast. "I have one more announcement before we leave." Torrence said as he stood up. Everyone else looked at him. "The annual conference will be here this year. It's going to be in five more days. I sent out reminders before I left and have received answers from every clan except from the Light and Golden Dragon Clans." he announced. Galeena wondered how messages were sent here, especially to the two hidden ones. "Torrence, how do you contact the clans?" she asked. "We send hawks to the clans." Torrence answered. "What about the two hidden ones?" "We have two special hawks for them because they're magical and can find the places. This time though, the hawks did not return." "That is strange." commented Titus. "When was the last time those clans attended an annual conference?" asked Searon. "Fifteen years at least. I do remember that the leaders were female and their heirs were female too." Torrence said. "Do you remember the rulers at all?" asked Galeena. "I use to, but it feels like the memories are getting foggy." Torrence said with a confused look on his face. "Funny, Niron told me the same thing once. He use to try to make an effort to remember, but then he got headaches so he stopped." Daphene added. Galeena did not like this. Something told her this was connected to all the problems recently, but she was not sure yet. Whatever it was could spell potential dangers in the future. She wished she could help, but she did not know how. "Let's not worry about it now. It would do us no good to worry about it if we cannot do anything about it for now." Meridian replied. They all agreed and finished breakfast. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Soon after breakfast, Torrence assembled all the eligible dragons in the courtyard. On Fraidel the selections were always the same. The dragon had to be eighteen in dragon years and the maximum age was fifty dragon years. Also, a dragon was given a choice to even become a partner. Not all dragons could become partners so that is why there was a choice. A dragon was given this choice when they turned thirteen in dragon years. The dragon would then breathe fire into a sacred chalice that was five feet tall. This magical object would be used again in the Selection Ceremony. The human who was selecting would go up to the chalice and place a hand on it. A flame would come out of it and circle the dragon that was meant for the person. All of this was explained to Galeena. It certainly seemed simple enough, but Galeena was still nervous because this would affect her for the rest of her life. Right now she was standing next to Torrence and Ankor, who had awaken in time for this. Torrence was wearing a coronet around his head to signify his position. It had a sapphire in the center. Torrence had told Galeena that his crown was only worn for huge events. Cerulos wore something similar only it went around his neck like a brace. The rest of Torrence's family was there with their partners as well the council. Galeena told herself to breathe. Torrence saw how nervous she was and placed a hand on her shoulder. Galeena turned to him and saw his reassuring smile. She grinned and nodded. Taking his eyes off Galeena, Torrence turned and looked at all who gathered. All the eligible dragons in the kingdom were there. All of them lived in the capital just in case something like this happened. Stepping forward, Torrence waved his arms to silence the crowd. "I thank all of you for showing up. My wife-to-be needs a partner so we are holding a Selection Ceremony today." he announced. Torrence turned to Galeena and signaled for her to come over. Galeena gulped nervously, but came over. "Now Galeena, place your hand on the chalice and open your heart to the magic of it." Torrence instructed. "Yes my lord." Galeena replied, trying to be dignified. Slowly she stepped towards the chalice. Taking a deep breath, Galeena closed her eyes as she touched the object. It immediately lit up as a flame came out of the chalice. It swirled around Galeena immediately and than began to swirl around the whole area before swirling around a dragon and entering him. It was Verdius. Everyone there looked surprised, even Verdius. The only person who wasn't surprised was Galeena. Instead, she was delighted. Torrence came forward again. "It has been decided. Verdius, son of Tyrus and Selaina, will be Galeena's partner." he announced. The crowd cheered and the dragons roared in celebration. Without thinking, Galeena rushed forward and hugged Verdius. Verdius blushed from head to tail. Torrence smiled and Ankor chucked, who had been pleased with the results. "This Selection Ceremony is over. Thank you everyone!" Torrence said before dismissing the crowd. Lagina came forward. "Shall we take that tour now Galeena?" she asked. Galeena pulled away from Verdius and looked at Lagina. "Oh yes. Torrence will you be coming?" Galeena asked him. "Sorry Galeena. I would love to but I have to catch up on my duties. I'll see you for lunch though." Torrence answered. Galeena tried to hide her disappointment, but Torrence saw her reaction. He came forward and took Galeena's hands in his before speaking in a low voice, "I really am sorry Galeena. Believe me if I did not have so many things to catch up on right now, I'd give you the tour myself. Once I am caught up and I have everything settled, I will try my best to be with you okay?" Galeena smiled and nodded. She had to keep reminding herself that Torrence was a king and had been warned he'd be busy when they returned to Fraidel. Still, she was happy he wanted to spend time with her. Seeing Galeena smile, Torrence leaned in and kissed her before leaving. Once Torrence left, Ankor came over. "Shall I be a suitable replacement for the tour my dear?" he asked. "Of course Ankor. Verdius are you coming?" Galeena smiled at her new partner. "Yep! Wherever you go, I go!" Verdius shouted, forcing the others to cover their ears. "Verdius, lower your voice." scolded Lagina. "Oh sorry." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: There you have it. I really love Verdius! This story will get dark at times and he's part of the comic relief that I feel is always needed in a good story. The tour is next and I am working on it right now so hopefully it won't be too long before I update. Thank you for your patience.
