I also want to thank everybody who messaged offering to help. For those who were waiting for some sex, wait no longer. ***** Escape from the Foreverdark The Gathering Belar put her hand up and closed her eyes, a minute later she took her hand off the wall and walked away. Down the hall she turned and watched Zilvra put up her ward, and just like her room the ward was very powerful. She wondered if her sister knew about the transformation in her aura, or if she is still clueless about the growing black and yellowish-white that is in her aura. She knew that Zilvra and Henri had a bond but how tight would there bond be. This was the real reason to have them as allies, she knew that her baby sister now had a magical aura stronger than her own and she truly doubted that Henri was still human, the black in his aura was now covering his torso and she started to see a blue aura as well growing very slowly. Zilvra took her hand down and could feel the power of her ward then turned to Henri, studying him closely. I asked, "Can I trust her about Shyntaunlin? Hell can I trust her at all?" Zilvra said, "You can never trust her. She told us just enough to get what she wants. The fact that she was honest bothers me, she is a game master. Most of us play a game within the bigger game, she plays a game within the game that most of us are trying to play and sometimes much more than that. She has run circles round Mica and she is her closest competitor in this family, even our matron isn't as good as she is." I was shocked at how good the minx was and decided it was better to leave it and see for myself. While I was checking her out, I noticed her outfit and asked, "Are those your new leathers?" Zilvra looked down and knew they were the same she had tried on last night, she replied annoyed, "No, they are the same from yesterday but I don't understand they didn't fit and now they fit better than they did before." I looked her over again and noticed her feet saying, "You forgot your boots, were you in that much of a hurry to get down here?" She glared at me and said, trying to emphasize how dangerous her sister is, "Leaving her in the same room with you is dangerous and that is being very generous." She tried to put on her boots which looked too small for her feet and sure enough they didn't fit. She said annoyed in general but a little with Henri, "Now, these don't fit either. I have no boots that fit and this thing fits like a second skin. You did this somehow, I mean you touched these and now they fit even better than before." She got up and walked towards me, as she did I saw her tattoo start to glow through her leathers and sure enough my families crest appeared on her leathers like it had been branded there. I could see she felt something from the exposure. As she got closer I took the boots and asked looking for something to build a relationship from, "What are you feeling?" She looked at me and grumbled, "I can feel the magic flowing through these leathers like it is alive with magical energy and your mark is now on these and the magic is flowing from it." I remembered how when I walked past the room just outside my cell, how Dirzune felt sick and asked wondering if it bothered her, "In the other room there is a door, what is in that room? Dirzune couldn't stand it, whatever it is." She looked at me like I had asked the dumbest question and said, "Your sword and the strange things that were attached to you are in there, I remember one of the guards telling me that nobody can go near that room, but I felt nothing when I walked past." I had to think for a moment what she meant about the strange things attached to me, I think she is talking about my pistols. Then I remembered that when I unsheathed the sword it was the first time I felt that burn and now I have that new tattoo on my chest from the burning. I handed the boots back to Zilvra, not really sure how I made her leathers fit so well and said, "I got my tattoo on my chest when I unsheathed my sword, so maybe it is magical or something. Can I have my sword back? Maybe I will feel that burn again like before or something." Zilvra tried the boots on and they still didn't fit her, so much for that idea. Zilvra sounded amused as she said, "You're not getting your hands on that sword, but I will go in and touch it and I will know right away if it is or isn't magical." She walked off to the room where my sword was being kept and felt nothing. Looking around the small room she saw a male Drow sitting in the corner opposite the door. As she approached the door he said his voice filled with concern, "You don't want to open that door." She turned and asked looking for anything that could explain what was happening to her, "Why not?" He looked at her a little lost and asked questioningly, "Something in that room gives off very bad magic, it is bad enough being this close. Don't you feel it?" She replied hoping to throw is suspicion off, "I do, but I want to see how bad it gets, you can leave the room if you want." As she started opening the door, he nearly ran out of the small room with the storage closet, wincing in pain. When she walked in she could feel the magic coming off of the sword, it was so powerful. She felt nothing and figured it had something to do with Henri, so she walked closer and touched his sword as she did she felt a burning sensation running up her arm to her now brightly glowing tattoo. She unsheathed the sword and looked at the strange blade, she could see the folds in the blade and noticed it had a point and a single edge the workmanship was unbelievable to behold. Unlike the surface blades she had seen which were double bladed, this was more like the scimitars that Belar was deadly with. She started to feel light headed and sheathed the sword, put it back, and walked out. She closed the door and leaned against it as she started to feel nauseous and wondered if this was what the others were feeling from the sword. She looked down and watched in shock as she saw that her leathers we growing down her legs towards her feet. She looked to see if the guard was watching her, she sighed in relief that he wasn't and watched as boots began to form around her feet. She walked back still feeling woozy and told the guard that the door was shut but to wait on the other side of the guard room. As she walked over to Henri she looked back seeing the guard walk past his post and into the passage that lead to the cellars, thought she would vomit as she looked down and saw her tattoo glowing brightly again. She looked at Henri and said, "It is magical and very powerful, where did you get it? I have never seen a sword like that, what is it called?" I replied wondering where this was going, "It is called a Katana and the smaller sword is a Wakizashi and the smallest is called a Tanto." She asked, wondering if the goddesses had crafted the blade for him, "You said your world has no dwarves or elves so who made that blade?" I replied still lost as to why that was important, "We have dwarves but that is just another name for a short human. I could explain the difference between them, but why bother. As I told you elves are something from myth, so we humans made them, to be exact the Japanese made them for their samurai, a class of warrior in the past. They were said to be some of the finest warriors in the medieval times, skilled in both sword and bow." Zilvra smiled at the thought of a human being able to hold up against any elf was preposterous. She had heard that her surface cousins were very skilled with the sword and wanted badly to test her skill against them. She had heard that some humans were good with a bow but how could one of them be better than any elf. She said wondering if Henri was holding out on something valuable, "If you have one of those swords then you must be as good as they are to have taken it. That means you must be really good with it, to have killed one of these great warriors and claimed his weapon." I said still lost on where she was taking me, "I found it in a shrine, and like I said samurai used to exist, but don't any more. They died out when gun powder became popular." Now it was her turn to be lost as she asked, "Then why did you take the sword? How did this gun powder get rid of these samurai? A new weapon doesn't get rid of good warriors, they adjust to the weapon or maybe they weren't as good as you say." I replied, "Because, the gun could fire before they could get close enough to hit them with the sword and it could go through armor not to mention that you could train a person to fire a gun in a few weeks and they would be able to kill a highly trained warrior, I wish I could show you, how different my world is and how warriors like them aren't needed anymore." Zilvra thought back to when Henri was being beaten and she saw his vision offering, "Maybe you can, remember how I was in your head when Shynta was beating you we just need to recreate that and you can show me. I mean if it worked once we should be able to do it again." I nodded and tried to go into my memories, the only thing that came into my mind was the day the 'Mother' died. Zilvra closed her eyes and tried to do what had happened before after a few minutes they looked at each other, and she shook her head no. We tried again and this time she started to get bits and pieces of the images as she focused, she could not only see but hear what was going on. She looked on in horror at the destruction that 2 A-10's were bringing to the town, when she saw and heard his prayer it dawned on her that she had had seen the same in a dream two days before he infected her. She was taken to the Mt. Iimori and saw the fighting there, she saw the death of 'mother' and everything ended when she saw the flash of light. She opened her eyes and asked awestruck, "How have your people tamed dragons?" I couldn't hide my smile and of course she glared at me when she saw it and said, "What dragon, I told you dragons don't exists on my planet." She asked trying to figure out what she had seen, "Then what was that thing that was flying? Or the dragons that it was fighting?" It dawned on me what she was talking about and I said, "That is a flying machine it has a human inside it, we call those airplanes and that type of plane is called an A-10 and the things it was destroying, well the one with the long stick out the front was a tank and the other was something that carries people like that horseless carriage you saw in my other dream just bigger." She wondered if she had been taught incorrectly and asked, "Why did you call that man 'mother' I thought that was the word for the woman who gives birth to a child?" I elaborated, "We called him 'mother' because he was always protecting the new people, like a mother protects a child." She said in shock, "Human mothers protect their children no wonder you are so weak. Here if you want to be in charge you have to kill your mother and take her power for yourself." I asked incredulously, "So, you mean your matron is your mother and if you want to be matron then you have to kill your own mother. Is that why none of you call her mother? And what about your father or should I say fathers in general?" She replied, "If you mean the consort who gave my matron me and my sisters, we have a sire and he has no part in raising us, we have no need of such weakness as most males are here." I had to ask, "Do you know who your sire is? Have you ever met him?" She said in a very uncaring manner, "I don't know who my sire is but the only male that is in this house that is old enough would have to be Alak. He can't be my sire because he is very weak for a male, so my sire must be from another house. Enough of this, can you show me these samurai who used your fine sword." I wasn't really sure if I could and explained, "I can but they would be images from movies, photographs and paintings. Samurai haven't existed for over 100 years on my planet. To you that is nothing but to us that is a long time. I mean our bodies can last about 125 years max." I focused on movies such a Ran, the 7 samurai, Zatoichi to give her some idea what they looked like and how they fought. She asked sounding very excited, "Can you fight like them at all?" I finally understood what she wanted and said, "I studied Niten-ryu a type of sword play, but that was 12 years ago I am sure that I can still remember some of the things I learned in Kendo, Iaido, but the first thing you would need to learn is how to fight without the sword. Why?" She said sounding like a kid with a new toy, "I want to see this style for myself and see if it can be useful. Can you make those swords like you have?" I knew how but I had never worked metal and replied, "I know how they are made but I am no swordsmith, you are serious about learning, aren't you?" The wheels turning in her head as she said, "We have a swordsmith here, what would he need? I have seen your sword and I can say that it is finely crafted, if I can get one crafted then I want to use such a fine blade." I wasn't Japanese and shouldn't have cared but something about her with such a sword made me say, "You can't just pick up a katana and use it, there is more to it than that. I won't help you if all you want is a sword, you have those, the katana and wakizashi were considered the soul of a samurai. You would have to honor your swords and write your bushido, you don't walk that path for a sword. I think it would be better if you forgot about it, I mean your people have no honor and that alone would insult my teachers let alone the spirits of the samurai who worked to perfect the art of the sword." Zilvra was not pleased at hearing me say no, she clearly wanted to learn, but I was not going to budge and inch on teaching her or helping her make those types of swords, I am sure they could make something that looked like it and she would be happy. Looking for and angle to exploit she asked, "Why did you study those things?" I could see she wanted this badly and would use every trick in the book and said, "I grew up as a foreigner and when I was in school the other children would bully me because I was different from my Japanese classmates. One day I came home beaten up pretty bad and my mother dragged me to a dojo, a place to learn self-defense. After about a year of studying I enjoyed training my mind, body and soul, I would use what I learned to block out the crap I was getting in school. The more I learned the more I wanted to know, I always respected the customs that came with it. My knowledge of martial arts has kept me alive, I can shut the pain out from your sisters' beatings You want power and to be strong, that is not what the martial arts and that is not what a samurai would want, if called on he or she would have to be and they accepted that, hell the word samurai means to serve so who are you serving by going after this; family, friends, loved ones?" She thought for a second seeing that this was important to me and said, "You saw how my life has been, if I studied that way of fighting then it would make them plot more carefully. You have seen Belar, she is a better swordswomen then me, she is trained as a Bladesinger that is our top school of swordplay, and if your style of fighting can help me beat her then it would be worth it. I will follow your ways if it means that you will teach me, Belar knows she can take me in a fight and it is only a matter of time before she comes for me. Right now I live by not being an ally to any of them, now I am her ally and I need to be ready for that starting now." I will follow your ways if it means that you will teach me, Belar knows she can take me in a fight and it is only a matter of time before she comes for me. Right now I live by not being an ally to any of them, now I am her ally and I need to be ready for that starting now." I knew I would regret it but she did have a point about her sister who was now my ally, I said, "Fine, if you follow my teachings then I'll help them make your swords. If Belar is right then I will be getting out of here soon and I will train you then." Zilvra agreed and thought it was best if we avoided each other for a few days or people might think she is plotting something with me. In the days that followed Zilvra's sisters visited me and repeated their previous abuse, I had had enough and wanted to get a little revenge but something was off about Shynta. She would prick me with a dart and then beat me but afterwards she would rub some ointment on my body which healed the injuries she had inflicted. It was like she was trying to seduce me after beating me which was fucked up on so many levels. After a couple of days she changed tactics, this time when I felt the dart I got sleepy and fell asleep, when I awoke I was chained prone on the bed and very naked, with Shynta and her two stooges standing over me. I watched in horror unable to move as Shynta stripped before me, god she had an incredible body, lithe like Rila Fukashima from the Wolverine movie but more tone. I didn't want to admit it but if she was thinking what I thought she was thinking, I did want it. She turned to one of her sisters, said something, and was given an oil by her minions opened the vial and poured it into her hands before stroking my member. I started to get hard, but worse than that I wanted to do all three of them as she stroked me slowly her eyes never leaving mine. I was thrusting into her hand as she looked down at me with a smile that should have told me what was coming. She worked me to a the verge of ecstasy before stopping, getting dressed and walking out laughing as I let loose with a profane tirade that would have made a sailor proud, but only made her happier. She continued this new torture two more times enjoying the effect she was having on me. That all changed when she came to my cell for what I thought would be yet another frustration filled affair. After the dart that weakened me she beat me like she had in the past and applied that ointment to my back, when she finished I felt a dart hit my ass and fell asleep. When I awoke I was chained prone and of course naked, my thought was that she was going to do both. Instead she took out a scroll, unrolled it and began reading, when she finished she touched her chest. She stripped and for the first time she straddled my stomach with her nude form looked me in the eyes and said, "I know you can understand me, that scroll had the spell tongues on it so we can talk at last." I asked worried where this was going, "What do you want?" The smile she gave me had me feeling very fearful as she said trying to sound sexy and making it work, "Isn't it obvious? I want you, all of you, not just your obedience but your everything. I can make all of this stop if you are mine all mine. I will give you a small gift of what you can expect with me as your mistress." Her hand slid down to my significant other as she worked it slowly taking me back to her previous tortures. Once I was hard she stopped and pressed her body forward until her nipples touched the bare flesh of my chest. She could feel my warmth against her ass. She decided to test it and see just what my reaction would be. I felt her shift her hips and slide down so that her sex rubbed the base of my shaft, it was like she was giving me a lap dance. She pulled herself in tight against my hips and started to grind herself on me. All the while her hips slowly gyrated against me and I felt her wetness spread. She ground harder against my stiffness, this excited her as she felt it at her opening then she lifted herself up and lowered onto me. Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 01 I gave in, not that I had a choice to Shynta's pressure, allowing her to draw me into her. Like no woman I had ever slept with she was intensely tight. She had to pause for a long moment to adjust, the little Drowess panted with need and desire and I felt her digging into my chest just before she lunged her pelvis against me, it felt absolutely amazing. Shynta was lost in the moment as I started to get into it, this broke her from her reverie as I thrust up into her, sending icy shivers through both our bodies. She squirmed and moaned her pleasure at my thickness as it stretched her open and she felt every throb and pulse of his heart. She looked down at him through narrowed slits and was pleased to see my passion. I began moving in her faster as she moaned and cried louder and louder. Heat rolled off her in waves and I smelled that pleasant musk on the air. Something inside me said this was right, it was something dark and primal and savage and urged me on. Suddenly I found myself thrusting in her faster as she grunted with every thrust, her breasts heaving. She pulled her legs against my thighs with more urgency and suddenly she let out a breathless cry of pleasure as she surrendered to the need within her. She wanted to feel me inside her but most of all she wanted the release I promised with every thrust of my hips as she reveled in the power she had over me. The impact of her own thrusts shook her tiny frame, she wanted more. When she thought I was nearly spent, she exploded! As waves of pleasure cascaded through her. Thunderous excitement shook her tiny frame and every muscle in her body clinched tight and suddenly she felt me shiver and slam one last time into her sex. I tried to arch my back in ecstasy as I came. The little Drowess above me had driven my desire over the edge and far beyond. When I felt her tighten around my cock I couldn't hold back any longer. I wanted to, but I no longer had any control. My orgasm hit me like a truck and I nearly collapsed when the final waves subsided. There was a very satisfied twinkle in Shynta's eyes and she ground her hips into me, trying to burn herself into my mind. She looked radiant in her afterglow as she leaned down and said, "My sister gave you her mouth and you have given me so much more. You will spend many nights pleasing me, end this and I will use you like this many, many times." My jaw hit the floor I had fucked Shynta and damn if it wasn't the best sex I have ever had, but I wasn't a pet or a toy. She used me to one up her sister and I was hot as I said, "Get the fuck off me, you expect me to just roll over and be a good boy after a little sex. Don't make me laugh, this wouldn't have happened if I wasn't in chains, take these off me and find out how much I want you as you would feel me break your neck." Shynta got off of Henri smiled that twisted smile at him, got dressed and left his cell. She had her victory over Belar. The following week the woman they all called matron came to see me and told me that I was going to be fighting in the pit which must be some kind of coliseum so I was going to be some kind of gladiator. My first fight would be in two weeks and to make things easier for all of us she gave me a gift. A ring they said it was made for a human poet who gave this underground hell hole its name, in his poem he described this place as being in endless darkness and called it the Foreverdark. This ring they said was magic and had two abilities; one the ability to understand the Drow tongue and the other to be able to see like they did. I asked for two things; one to be able to train outside of my cell so I could be in good form and two for the assaults to stop so I wouldn't be fighting at a disadvantage. The matron agreed to my first and said her children would keep an eye on me in case I did something stupid, the second she said didn't matter because the other slave would be beaten as well, however she said if I won the first fight she would agree and even have me stay in the room they kept other humans in when they had artisans stay. I asked about what kind of fight it would be, she told me it would be a fight to the death, when I asked about weapons she just said it hadn't been decided yet, but I would most likely be fighting unarmed. I told her to prepare that room because in two weeks I will be moving in. For the next week I trained in the courtyard with the matron's daughters watching me as I did my katas and tai-chi to help me focus. Zilvra and Belar watched together for different reasons, Zilvra trying to figure out how his blows could be put to use. Belar watched his aura and how much control he was having over it, this concerned her, for she knew that such control could lead to him manifesting magical abilities. Unbeknownst to Henri, he had two others watching him and Zilvra. Shynta still enjoying her memories of Henri said, "As you can see Mica, his aura has gotten this strong in the week you have been here, now look at Zilvra, her aura is stronger as well, I think she could easily learn to use magic and maybe even divine spells, with training. After you I would have to consider her a threat." Mica watched the two of them from the shadows with her ally for now, what truly concerned her wasn't Henri or Zilvra, but Belar standing next to Zilvra. She knew that Belar was a true rival and could take out Zilvra if need be. She pointed to Belar said, "You don't consider Belar a threat?" Shynta shook her head and said, "No, her greatest weakness is the same as mothers, she likes males and that is how she can be controlled." Mica wanting Shynta to make a mistake said, "Mother is no fool and we both know that her true consort is Alak, the same can be said of Belar the only difference is that she doesn't have a consort and remember she isn't only after males as we both have enjoyed her on more than one occasion." Zilvra wanted to see how good this style of fighting really was, it was one thing to make these movements but could they work in combat and grabbed two males and headed into the courtyard. Zilvra trying not to sound excited said, "I have brought you two males to practice with, they are both very good fighters I have told them that hurting you is fine with me." Belar stepped out from behind her sister, wanting to pour gas on the fire, turned to the males saying, "Which ever one of you beats the human unconscious will get to bed me tonight." I fired back wanting to fuck with her, "So, if I beat both of them does that mean I get to bed you, or are you scared because my hands won't be tied like the other time?" Belar smiled a very mischievous bordering on demented smile and said, "I will agree with that, but only if you beat then and Zilvra will I bed you." I asked is disbelief, "You are saying that when I beat them, I will get to lay my hands on a female and when I beat her you will submit to me and nothing will happen to me?" Belar said with a smirk, "I like this, you think you have already won. Very well if you win I will submit myself to you." Shynta's eyes light up as she heard the bet and knew that Belar would keep the deal, this gave her a great idea. Her idea was simple with Belar knocked up she would gain two things, one to test if Henri's aura was truly magical, two it would remove Belar from being a threat for at least two years or more. The problem was she would need to make a masking agent and didn't have time to complete it by tonight. She smiled as she put together a plan and asked, "Mica do you have anything to hide the taste of potions?" Mica said perplexed, "I do, but what do you want with them?" She turned and said sounding overjoyed, "I am going to remove Belar as a threat tonight, with a little luck." Mica replied not happy with the answer, "If you want the agent then, you will have to do better than that." She said, "I will slip a fertility draught into a drink I will offer her, before she goes to the human, with her pregnant she will not be a treat." Mica retorted shocked at the lengths Shynta would go, "She would never carry a half-breed and will abort it." Shynta smirked and said, "You have forgotten about the compulsion I put on her and part of the reason she is the way she is." Now Mica smirked remembering how Shynta held Belar down shoved a phallus in her, calling her a brood mare over and over before pouring a nymphomaniac potion down her throat weakening her mind forever. Mica said, "You know she will take a preventative draught. Of course he will have to win against the three of them and we know how good Zilvra is or have you forgotten." I looked at Belar and gave her a wink, as I took a fighting stance and got ready to fight. The smaller man charged in and swung wildly as I grabbed his arm bent his wrist and dropped him to the ground, spun his arm into a chicken wing locked his fingers in a controlling hold and told him to submit or I would make it hurt really bad. He refused, so I dislocated his elbow and shoulder as I lifted him off the ground by the chicken wing, when he passed out I dropped him. I watched as the other man came at me, he was weary of getting inside my reach, I dropped back to see if he would follow so that I could counter quickly but he didn't bite and forced me to go on the offensive, I had the reach advantage and my one thought was I have the reach and the strength so why not. I charged at him leapt in the air and knocked him out with a superman punch, I guess 240lbs plus to jaw of a 110lbs man makes them a little wobbly. I looked at Zilvra and saw pure joy in her eyes, she wanted to fight me in the worst way possible, as she walked towards me, I stood up and made a Bao Quan, when I lowered my head she raced in to strike me, I ducked her blow and brought my right hand to her throat, I heard her wheezing as I stood up. I said in a deadly serious tone, "I will kill you if you ever do that again. I was showing you respect by bowing, if you have no honor in our fight, I will kill you then and there. You said you were going to follow my teachings. Do I have your attention? We will start again." I waited till she had recovered before I bowed, this time she bowed and I took my fighting stance. I winked at Belar as Zilvra came at me, she tried to get inside my reach or grab me and it dawned on me that she was going for a judo throw. I brought my right hand to her right elbow as her grip lessened, I slid my left hand to her left hand and knocked it off of me and used her own strength against her as my right hand joined in spinning her wrist back towards her as she lost balance trying to keep her wrist from being broken. I had her wrist at a 90 degree angle and locked her elbow as I stood over her head to break her wrist or elbow if she kept fighting. I told her if she keeps fighting I will break it and if she stops I will release her and we can keep fighting, she stopped and I let her up and took my position I once again made a Bao Quan and took a fighting stance. She charged in and swung at me as I saw her eyes glowing red, I blocked and blocked, I would slide a shot at her and stop before hitting her, she would see my hand had stopped and would start swinging again. This time I blocked and stepped to the side sliding both hands around her swinging arm and stopping with two fists one at her heart the other at her ribs on her right hand side, she tried to elbow me. I rolled and stood up and she was so angry that she charged right in, I blocked her blow and slid her front foot forward as she fell I caught her in a choke hold and could have choked her out or broke her neck. I told her the fight was over and that she had a lot to learn, she agreed and seemed happy with what she had learned. Both Shynta and Mica were shock to see not only a lowly male, and a human one at that, win easily against two skilled Drow males let alone a Drowess. Belar tried to hide her excitement as she declared me the winner, I think she secretly wanted me to win, I could see how she could be seen as so dangerous she struck me as being like bamboo strong yet flexible. Zilvra walked over to me and said, "All those moves you were doing were to block and counter any attack. How well would those work against an armed opponent?" I said certain she couldn't hit me because she telegraphed her blows, "If you want you can come at me with a sword and I can show you?" She said in utter disbelief and wondering if he was somehow using their link to read her , "Are you that certain you can win against me?" I knew she was contemplating it but I wasn't going to give up my ace as I said, "Yes, I have two huge advantages one I have a reach advantage and two I have a size advantage. You are used to being bigger than everybody you fight and with these small men that you have, you don't worry about them being stronger. My first blow would have killed you had I not held up, you are relying on your strength alone and that will never work on me." She could see that more went into my workout then just simple blows and decided against testing me with a weapon. We agreed that tomorrow we would train together, this seemed to please Zilvra, and in a way it made her seem childish to be so happy over such a little thing. Belar watched us closely, this made me very uncomfortable because I had no idea what she was looking at. What Belar was watching is how much stronger Henri's aura had become as compared to the week before, she even thought that it had gotten stronger during the fight and she wanted to know how he could do that. If she could strengthen her magical aura, it would give her a huge advantage over her rivals. She had also noticed that Zilvra's aura had been erratic like it was in some kind of turmoil, during the fight it was even more erratic, but now it was calm and again she wondered why, she even debated if he could be controlling or at the very least influencing that. Belar said flirtatiously thinking her plan to make him her pet was working better than expected, "A deal is a deal, so what are you planning on doing to me? I am certain you will make it memorable." I couldn't help it I'm a guy sue me and said, "I was thinking of having you read the bible while wearing priestess robes." She smiled at the thought, I shuddered at what she was thinking as she said, "Should I bring the whip as well?" I just shook my head and said, "I have had enough of the whip for one life time and a riding crop or a paddle would be better, and no the chains can stay off as well." Zilvra looked at Henri in shock, what was he up to? He knows better than to play with her, he is playing a dangerous game with a master. She didn't like the look in Belar's eyes either, she was far too happy to be playing with him. As Belar walked off Zilvra walked over and said exacerbated, "What do you think you are doing? You do know she has you in her web, and you want to be her next meal!? You choose the strangest times to play our game, we don't know what will happen if she tries something on you or should I say us." I said, trying to sound like Confucius, "Sometimes you have to get bitten to understand the poison. So, I am going to walk into her web in the hope of seeing how it is spun. Besides, I am certain that what she is looking for is something I cannot give, but I have to learn the rules to your game before I can decide if I want to play, and I can't do that without risking my neck now can I?" Zilvra walked away content with his answer and a little relieved that he was trying to figure out how things were done, she just worried what her sister would get out of him. She didn't even want to think about what she would do with him, but couldn't hide the fact that Henri was very different from any of the humans who had been at their home before. To her he had proven his worth by beating, one of her teachers and one of the strongest male warriors they had. Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 02 The Gathering Escape We come to the main floor of the Hla'ath home and see Belar, Shynta and Mica all gathered near the stairs on the balcony that overlooked the area where Henri had been training. As Belar came to those stairs she saw Shynta and Mica talking. Mentally preparing for trouble she approached her eldest sister. As she neared Shynta asked wanting to confirm her plan, "Are you really going to submit to him?" Belar smirked wanting to rub it in and said, "Of course, this will be interesting. If I remember correctly you both enjoyed his gifts, well his ability to take your abuse." Remembering what Henri said about priestess robes she turns to Mica she says, "You know he asked me to come in priestess robes but I don't have any, are yours available?" Mica put on a fake look of disgust and said faking her disdain, "Sure, you will wash the smell out them from that animal before giving my robe back. Make sure you don't catch from this human, you know what will happen to half-breeds." Shynta enjoying the fact that she had done something her promiscuous sister hadn't and said, "He is very filling and he has a sweet ass. Why didn't you partake in it like last time?" Belar knew Mica was baiting her but was still left in the dark about what Shynta had done and said, "I enjoy males too much I'm afraid, and that male has more than enough to keep me happy, for now. Besides, this is a chance to learn how humans mate, Alak said that they have a male dominant society so I can learn a few things about that by submitting, and who knows maybe he will teach me a few other things. Mica, you are just afraid of what that half-breed would be able to do with my mind and his physical traits our child would make a strong male and a threat as a female, especially if she has magical skills." Mica offered faking resignation, "If you are that dead set on doing this come to my room and I will lend you one of my robes." As Belar walked off, wondering what her sisters were plotting. Mica turned to her sister with a wolfish grin and said, "Bring what you want to my room and I will get the masking agent." They both left and went to their separate rooms, Shynta got the powerful fertility draught and Mica got the masking agent and had some very good mushroom wine brought up to her room. When they met back up Mica said stating what they both knew to be true, "You know she will take a preventive potion before going down to him." Shynta replied reviling in the fact that Belar would soon be in her study as she experimented on her and Henri's child, "That is why I have our most powerful draught to override the effects." Mica poured two glasses, handed one to her sister taking a sip to prove she had done nothing to it and said, "That is why I have this wine it has a strong taste and will help the masking agent even more." Seeing her sister drinking from her own cup Shynta smelled her wine and sipped it carefully, knowing that the strong wine could also hide a powerful poison, she tasted none and drank up the tasty wine. Belar had everything she would need, she looked at her preventive potion and decided she wouldn't need it, her time wasn't right to catch for at least another week so she dressed and headed over to Mica's room. When she entered she saw Shynta there as well and instantly knew they were up to something, she slid her right hand closer to the robe she was wearing, which had a dagger sown into the left sleeve, just in case. Mica handed Belar her robe and a glass of spiked wine and said nothing not knowing if this plan would work but knew if it did she would be rid of 4 sisters. With Shynta gone her middle sisters which had fallen prey to Shynta's magic, would fall easily because of all of Shynta's toying to their abilities. With Belar pregnant she could kill Shynta while she experimented on the pregnant Belar. A pregnant Belar offer her many options, she could wait and keep Belar safe using the half-breed as a hidden pawn, or she could turn Belar and the child over to the cloister where they would do what Shynta was going to do, this option would gain her prestige in the eyes of her higher ups. She wanted to keep Belar off balance and said, "Here, we were just discussing how much longer it would take to break the human. So, don't ruin our fun while you are having yours." Belar sniffed the glass and sipped it, she couldn't taste the draught and drank greedily, as she had a weak spot for wine and Alak had brought her some of the surface wines, which she had requested, she savored the variety of flavors wishing she could go to the surface and try them all. After a few minutes of listening to Shynta go on about their mother's attempts to secure a consort at the next ball, the mundane things Zilvra hated and Belar could care less about, she changed into Mica's robes and left heading to see Henri. She excused the guard on watch, after a lengthy beating for refusing to follow her orders. She went to put up wards to keep people from prying, when she felt Zilvra's overwhelmingly powerful ward still up. With a shake of her head at the power her little sister displayed with virtually no effort and she headed to the cell where Henri was being kept. She unlocked his cell, walked in with a big smile wondering what he had in store for her, and said playfully, "I am here to submit and I brought the robe but not the whip as asked. What would you like to do to me?" That was the question I wanted answered, what exactly did I want from her? I mean she is sexy and I could, hell I have been forced to with Shynta. No, that would be playing into her hands and have to keep in mind that this is a game to her, the difference here is that I am making the rules for once. It dawned on me what is the one thing that they don't seem to do and that is when it hit me. I said trying to hide my smirk as my plan unfolded, "Nothing, I want you to do absolutely nothing." She asked annoyed thinking he was going to tease her as pay back, "Then why am I here?" I said not sure how this would play out in the long run but I have been that deep of a thinker, "To learn, what a man can do without being beaten, threated or worrying about if their partner will kill them. You're going to learn how a person you care about is supposed to be treated. So, get out of that robe and lay face down on my bed, and no questions enjoy not knowing and having to trust somebody, I will stop if you say so, because you can't trust somebody you don't respect." She was lost at my goal it was written all over her face. To her credit she did as I said, when she laid down I came over and climbed on top of her legs just behind her ass. She started to resist and I whispered seeing her discomfort, "Shhhhhhh, I told you all you have to do say is 'stop' and I will. Do you fear me that much?" She grumbled something but stopped resisting as I continued whispering, "Back home if you really cared for a woman, not a female not a Drowess, but a woman plain and simple in all her glory, we enjoy everything about her; the things we love and the things we hate, her strengths and weaknesses, they are all her and that is what makes her, her. From how soft and sensitive her skin is..." As I ran my fingertips down her back slowly to the small of her back and circled up her flanks. I was greeted with a sigh and saw her tense muscles relax, I moved my head down to her shoulders and kissed along the tops of her shoulders and down the sides to her hips and over to the other flank and back to where I started. I moved back to my original spot and said enjoying both her beauty and her vulnerability, "You see we care so much that we want to embrace her like the wind, touch her like fine silk. So she can know exactly how much we love her, force isn't needed, I don't have to beat love into her, it should flow like water after a rain storm." She groaned in need, I had lit a small fire in her as I continued, "Her body should be worshiped for the piece of art it is and there are many ways can do that, but I don't want words..." I began to give a Kahuna massage using slow long sweeping strokes and focusing on raising her excitement levels, and disarming her. After about 10 minutes I noticed she was dry humping the bed, but I was nowhere ready to take her. I leaned in and kissed her ears as softly as possible and the moan that escaped shocked her and stroked my ego big time. I whispered, "I have only worshiped half of you so roll over and let me keep working, a women's beauty should be enjoyed like a fine wine and for you I am making a rare blend, you have time." She rolled over and I was hit by her arousal as she looked into my eyes, I said, "Do these eyes look like your enemies? I have one goal and that is to make tonight memorable for us, so in your centuries to come you shall remember tonight." She opened her heavily lidded eyes and I saw the softest look I had ever seen from any of these people that I almost forgot about the abuse I had suffered at their hands. I began to massage her shoulders and the base of her breasts but avoided touching anything higher, I heard her breathing become ragged as I worked my way lower, I avoided her most sensitive areas on purpose driving her to climax as her pink eyes flew open and she grabbed my arm squeezed mightily before relaxing again. I worked down to her feet and began to work them as well to delightful mewling from my victim. I finished with her feet and said, "A woman should be loved like tomorrow will never come, not a race, not a competition just a slow building of pleasure." With that I kissed her firmly but gently, I sucked on her lower lip and bit it hard enough to keep it from slipping out of my mouth and pulled on it, I let my kisses move to her ears and this time I let my assault linger on her ears. She panted loving her torture, "You do this only once right? When you want to catch?" I said keeping my game plan in mind and planting seeds for the future, "No, my people are known to be better lovers than fighters. This is what my lover gets anytime she wants it." I swear she mumbled 'I want it.' As I moved in for a kiss to end all kisses and found her arms around me pulling me towards her with open legs, a burning need and something much more valuable. I woke up a few hours later and saw Belar looking at me, I said, "A penny for your thoughts." She smiled a genuine smile and said, "Do you want to do more things to me?" I asked playfully hopping she would answer correctly, "As my woman or as the Drowess paying off her debt?" 'Holy shit' I thought as I swear I just saw a Drow blush. She said clearly wanting her cake and to eat it, "What if I said as both?" I replied clearly disappointed my plan had failed, "Then I would have to send her away. My woman has no debt to pay because I enjoyed every second. So, which is it?" She chewed on her lip and finally frowned as she got up and put on her robe and left my cell. She said, "I maybe a woman but I am still a Drowess and that will never change." I retorted learning a lot from this exchange, "Then go but know this if you come back, you come back as a woman first and foremost and I will welcome you like I just did. I haven't forgotten what the Drowesses have done to me nor have I forgiven them. However, the woman who shared my bed last night has done nothing but make me happy and it is her I will remember." She turned and huffed out clearly upset with me, this game I could master quickly. I felt like I had just had one of my first battle against Belar, part of me wished she would come back. Belar walked back to her room head swimming at the most satisfying sex she had ever had and wondered why she felt so good, the thing that troubled her was what he had said about her, how he hadn't forgiven her or any of them for that matter and that he called her his woman. Did that mean he had feelings for her? Did all human males think this way? Why had he said what he said? Done what he had done? For the first time in her long life she felt guilt creep up on her and felt bad for what she had done to him as she reached her room and went to bed. The next day Henri was led to the courtyard and when Zilvra showed he began explaining. I said trying to remember everything my sensei's had taught me, "Zilvra, martial arts is a form of self-defense, if you noticed yesterday I let all of you attack me, before I fought, that is the essence of all martial arts." She asked lost as to why the best defense isn't a very good offense, "Then why study them, if you can't use them to overpower your foes?" I replied, "The idea is to prevent bodily harm and make the person you are fighting see how futile fighting is. Martial arts teaches us to use our mind, body and soul that is why. How many times have you seen a weaker opponent win because they wanted it more? Besides once you attacked was I just stopping you or did I attack in my defense?" She mulled it over and had to admit that strength wasn't everything and wondered how much of Henri's skill was part of this mind, body, and soul. She commented, "So you bait people into attacking so you have the advantage." I shook my head this was getting me nowhere, came back to the lesson understanding she would understand later and said, "Let's start with a few Kata's, I will show you the form and you will do them as I watch and make corrections afterwards." She complied and I had her doing a few simple strikes from Karate and she had those down quickly, she was a fighter after all and had a fighting stance and just needed to learn mine. I would call her style a form of mixed martial arts focused more on wrestling and judo, with a mix of brawling, it was clear this had suited her being bigger than probably all of her peers from what I had seen of her people. I moved to a few blocks with a counter thrown in, she practiced patiently but I could see she was getting bored with these simple drills. She said showing her frustration, "I thought this would be more challenging. You had complete control of all three battles and knew it before the fight started, what I want to know is how did you read them?" I answered looking to build on this ground work, "I read them, just like now you're thinking this is a waste of time, but I need to know how fast you learn before I can show you more. If you want to spar then I will spar with you but only going over those strikes and blocks I showed you." She nodded and we took up fighting stances and we did a walk through, as we finished, I told her we will go faster and I started attacking her as she went for the strike, her form was good so I let her hit me. She looked at me cross and said growing angry, "I know you can block that or I would have beaten you soundly yesterday, if you are going to fight show me, what you can do. Show me what this style will teach me." I said uncomfortably, "Are you sure? I can show what you will be able to do, but I don't see the point and with all the people watching they will understand how dangerous I am, besides I think having an ace up my sleeve is a good thing. If you are insistent then I will give you a demonstration of three of the arts I know and none of them have anything to do with a sword. But I need some things from you." She agreed and came back and some bricks and a board, I studied the board and thought that she would enjoy having a Mook Yan Jong to practice on and felt a warmth flowing through me into the wood, as it started to grow and take the shape of a six foot high and nine inches in diameter and I saw the three arms sticking out, it was anchored solidly into the ground. I let go and looked at Zilvra who was awestruck, I knew I had done something that I shouldn't have but I didn't know what I had done in the first place. She asked disbelief in her voice, "How did you do that? And why? Why didn't you tell me you could? How come I didn't hear you use and spell words to summon the energy? You are living on borrowed time now." I answered honestly saying, "I don't know, I just thought about this and I felt this warmth flow into the wood and did this. If I knew I could do this I would have told you. Why does that matter? How am I in danger?" She said worried about what this would mean for both of them, "You can do magic and even if you don't know how to do anything you still pose a threat and that is not good, my sisters will be watching you even closer now." Zilvra was right because three very interested parties were watching his display of magic. Belar was not very happy she knew this display had just ruined her plans because Shynta would be even more worried and nothing made it harder to eliminate any Drow then concern. Belar couldn't suppress a smile as she witnessed what she knew he could do, but something else was creeping in and that was concern for his safety, but why should she care if they killed him then she wouldn't have to, true he gave her a great opportunity to get rid of Shynta. The truly worrying thing was that he did all of this with such little effort, she watched as his aura lined up and flowed with such a small amount of power that she knew he could do very powerful spells if he knew how. Shynta and Mica watched his display in horror, the ease that he had created that, told them that the house was in great danger if he figured out how to control his power. I asked for another piece of wood about two inches thick and a three feet long and two feet wide. I then asked for two guards to stand with their backs to the wall and hold the board, with some convincing they did as they were told. I asked Zilvra, "Can you put your hand through that board?" She looked at the board and said, "No, it is too thick, I would break my hand if I tried." I walked over to the board and put my hand on it, I set my hand so my fingers were almost touching the board. I focus my chi, twist my hips, roll my shoulder, as I make contact I release my chi and put my fist through the board. I explain that real punching power comes from the entire body and by training my mind to ignore the wood and harness my chi to make my hand as hard as iron I can do that easily and she will too. I explained that this training is going to harden her fist through micro fractures healing over and over, as we work on the mind and soul. I told the guards that they could put the board down, we would find a way to anchor it later. I walked over to the bricks and my first thought was to break them, but after the display with the Mook Yan Jong I thought I would try and see if I could project my chi and break the middle of the 7 bricks stacked up before me. I explained that once you have mastered uniting mind, soul and body doing things like this would be easy, I continued to explain that I would break the fourth brick but the three above it would be untouched. Zilvra watched as Henri brought his hand down to the top brick and then back up over his shoulder, intensity written on his face as he breathes in and brought his palm down, unleashing his chi and all eyes watch as all the bricks below the third explode into dust and a huge imprint was left in the ground where his chi had finally stopped. Henri explained each exercise that she was going to do and ignored the looks he got, from her and the guards that had been doubled, were redoubled after that. Zilvra feeling lost and more than a little intimidated at the display she had just witnessed, began her exercises in the back of her mind ran a million thoughts at the same time things like how his display would affect her? Had Belar dropped her plan to take out Shynta? Because she would be even more guarded and less likely to deal with Henri. Would Shynta and Mica want to test to see what powers she had? These were but a few of the over whelming thoughts that ran through her mind. Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 02 Henri could see that she was distracted and told her that she will be able to if she commits to what he was teaching her. Belar watched Zilvra practice and saw how her normally chaotic aura was beginning to calm and she knew that it wasn't Henri but the exercises he had her doing. The more she studied Henri the more she was certain that he was anything but human, that level of power would only be brought by the goddesses and gods if her sire was correct. The thing she couldn't figure out was why Lloth would use a human. His story was far from being told and she also knew that whoever gave him that power would be watching him. The one thing she was concerned over was that this was a test, was Lloth testing her house? Why would she? Why choose a human for such a test? What would happen if they failed? If it isn't Lloth then who would put him down here? If he could do this then why hadn't he tried to escape? Why didn't he get revenge for what they had done to him? Did he honestly want her as a woman? Why did she like that thought? So many questions and she wanted answers as she walked towards the stairs and eventually to Henri's cell. Belar wasn't alone in watching Zilvra practice as from the shadows Shynta and Mica were watching of course and scheming. Shynta knew that Henri had become a threat and would have to die, but she wanted to wait until after his first match in the pit, she also wanted to see if his growing aura would allow him to manifest offensive magic or if it was simply a defense mechanism to keep him alive. Mica knew that this was why she had been sent to spy on her house, she was at odds with Shynta who she could clearly see wanted to study the human more. She had no idea he was that dangerous, she did understand that Henri and Zilvra would have to die. Shynta snapped Mica out of her reverie saying, "Well this complicates things doesn't it, and we both know that he has to go, my only question is when do we get rid of him?" Mica said gravely, "The sooner the better, he gets stronger and stronger every day the only thing that worries me is who is giving him that power? I know it is not Lloth but that doesn't mean that trying to kill him won't anger one of the goddesses or even gods, angry deities could do a lot of damage, from what I know they tend to work together. Another thing to think about is what to do with Zilvra? I say they both die and tonight." Shynta didn't like this snippet and said, "He fights in the pit in three days, if he lives we kill him afterwards. I mean why put the energy into killing him if somebody else can do it for me. As for Zilvra, I say we wait and see what happens in the pit, if he dies there I can watch and see if she dies or if she gets his powers. As for the deity that gave him that power, all I can say is that it mustn't be a very smart one to send him to us." With a nod Mica agreed that they would wait until after his match and then take care of him, however she was going to kill Zilvra regardless. With that agreement reached they went their separate ways, Mica was going to message Dirzune about what had happened and Shynta went toward Henri's cell she had tried to scry on him and found his cell blocked so she had to eavesdrop on him to get the information she wanted. While all that was going on Henri and Zilvra had finished practicing and he had returned to his cell, a few minutes later Zilvra and Belar entered the hallway that lead to his cell and felt much more comfortable with the bars between themselves and Henri. *********** The flowing sliver hair, obsidian skin and taught body that seemed to exude sex and was topped off with those rose colored eyes that belonged to the goddess Eilistraee watched the proceedings with caution from Transit and her concern caused her to call for the Great Destroyer. As he materialized in Transit he asked clearly annoyed, "I have let you in here to watch over him, not so that you could bother me." Eilistraee hated this part of his character and said, "I would not have called you if it wasn't important. The keeper has synergized with the codex and I fear my mother's actions. What bothers me more is the weave that is going into him, why is that going on and are you going to stop it." Death didn't like the news and looked at the tablet that she was looking at, he took the image and threw it onto the wall as it blew up, he used the codex to access Henri's hearing. Death said, "I will know what is going on. Can you get him out if Lloth comes after him? Or should I send Michael to fetch him" She shook her head negative and said, "I have no spies there, I did not think he would get to this point so quickly. We both know that Michael will level half the Foreverdark to get him out and that would ruin the balance of things. I can't believe he did this..." She showed Death on the same tablet that had had the image of Henri in his cell as it loaded the image of Henri making and anchoring a fighting dummy and then of him putting his hand threw the wooden board and breaking bricks. She touched the tablet looking device and it switched to show his magical aura and sure enough Death saw that the codex was now a part of Henri, he also noticed that his katana had become the key on another screen. Death said sounding truly fatherly, "I told you that we would unravel the threads of fate, had you not caused him to draw the codex in the first place this wouldn't have started so soon." He called for Michael, one of the three messengers of the great creator and destroyer, along with his brother Lucifer and sister Gabriella. Michael was the destroyers messenger and was knows on earth as gods punishment, Lucifer was the creators messenger and plotted the growth of all life forms, Gabriella was the deliverer of messages from the gods on Earth she was known as the one who gave Moses the ten commandments and informed the Virgin Mary about her son. Death asked him to pull up all conversations from the past few days concerning Henri. As he watched and listened to the plotting and abuse that Henri had endured Death became angry and knew this had to stop and now. Furious he grabbed Eilistraee and opened a rift into Lloth's realm, she could tell from his body language that he wasn't happy and that wasn't good she would have to be the voice of reason before Death obliterated this plane. As Death walk through the rift he screamed, "Lloth!" She had not showed herself and Death's eyes erupted into black flames as took his left hand and shoved it into the fabric of the realm unravelling the fabric right before them, Eilistraee hid behind him fearing what would happen. Lloth appeared in her cursed form of a spider with a beautiful Drow face, she saw Death and smiled as she changed into the beautiful woman that she had been before she was cursed and tossed into the abyss. She said her voice full of innocence, "What have I done to have the pleasure of a visit by the Great Destroyer, could I bother you to remove your hand from the fibers of this realm." Lloth knew exactly why he was there and was going to enjoy this immensely. Death removed his hand from the fabric of the plane as it closed back up, however he was in no mood for games and said, "I have come to tell you that the keeper is here and that renewal is upon you, I must tell you he is in...what is the name of the city?" As he turned around and Lloth saw her daughter standing behind Death, she knew her daughter was powerless on her plane and she could easily destroy her. Lloth said playfully, "Hello my child, have you seen the errors in your ways and come to beg for my forgiveness and to take a seat next to your mother? I have missed you." Eilistraee flushed with anger and said, "No, mother I have not come to ask for your forgiveness. As Death said the keeper is in Intra'minynda and your children are going to kill him, if that happens nobody will go, he must go back to open the gate and he must get his companions to help restore balance afterwards or would you rather your children fell under the control of another after I kill you." Lloth wanting to pour salt on her child's wounds said, "Don't worry my child I will stop them from making such a grave mistake, so you are going to kill your mother, tell me will it be with a bow like you killed your father or with the sword, like your sister and brother? I thought he was free to choose his own path, so what if he chooses to follow me, my children are more than capable of helping him no others are necessary." Death never one to be patient interjected, "ENOUGH, I have been watching and putting his life in your children's hands is foolish, the minute he opened the gate to earth they would kill him. Not to mention they would never take orders from him, one or two might but a whole group, I doubt it. Besides with the warmth your people have shown him, he would probably ditch them the first chance he got." Lloth fired back wanting a way to track him on the surface, "Then why should I not have them break him and make a puppet of him, if I don't have anybody representing me." Death smirked knowing she was up to no good, but that was fine with him and said, "Ok pick your champion, just remember that she may be one of three Drow but he will be in charge and I am certain that the first time she gets out of line he will have no problem killing her or letting her get killed. Remember her powers will come from him not you." Lloth pondered why three and said, "Who are the others? And why would they be chosen and I not informed?" Eilistraee smiled a cat that just ate the canary grin and said, "One is my champion and the other is her sister who now carries his child, thanks to your children's interference. Neither one of them prays to you so why should you be told." Lloth finalized her plan and said, "His fate is his own, yes?" Death said certain she would bring destruction to somebody, "He and his champions will have or have had their fates unwound and are free to decide for themselves. Why do you ask?" Lloth did not answer but said, "So, when I keep him alive his life is his own, you and the others will not interfere with him?" Death said, "They can only influence their champions and try and sway him, but no they cannot make him do anything. If he chooses to accept the champions it is his doing, if he chooses to stay in the Foreverdark that is his choice, I know you have had your children build a gate down there, if he chooses to use that gate so be it, as long as he opens the gate for the renewal neither my wife or I care which gate he uses." Lloth liked that as she plotted she said, "Then I will see to it that my children do not harm him while he is in the Foreverdark. After all why deny my daughter the chance to finish killing her family." Death and Eilistraee both left knowing she was up to something but had no idea what she was up to, all that mattered to Death was that the keeper make it back to Earth. Lloth knew she would have to speed up her plans and began taking more direct control of the Intress in charge of the Intra dominion. She prepared a dreamscape for her children to warn them not to harm him, she knew better than to try and fool or even lie to Death, in the dreamscape she showed Henri with three huge spiders standing with their backs to him between himself and many Drowesses as one of the Drowesses tried to approach him, she was ripped to shreds by the huge spiders. Now she told her puppet to begin preparing the Dark Sister and increasing their numbers by any means necessary as her plan moved into a new phase. ***** As always I have to give thanks to my editor McLovin6787 if it wasn't for his hard work this story wouldn't be possible. However after his little display he had four with weapons at the ready, Belar was walking his way and it was apparent to everyone that she was not happy with him. She asked reigning in her anger at having her plan ruined, "Just what was that? Are you trying to get yourself killed? All our plans are out the window because of you! How are we going to get Shynta to let her guard down? Now she is going to be even more cautious." He could see clearly that she was annoyed with me and that I had ruined her plans. Zilvra on the other hand was studying me carefully. Zilvra finally said sounding dejected, "Belar the bigger problem is what will happen to us for being near him, he is as good as dead so maybe we should focus on cutting our losses, unless you want to take down this house." Belar knew they wouldn't do anything right away, because she wouldn't and said, "Shynta will wait until after he fights in two days and if he dies in the pit all the better, at least I will make some money off of him, from what I saw I doubt a Blood Sister could best him bare handed and I know he won't face them in the pit." He countered sarcastically, "Thanks for the vote of confidence. So now that the shit has hit the fan in your opinion you will bail on me. I knew that calling either of you allies was a waste of time, so go run and hide, I'll be right here and if need be die with my boots on, but I'm not too worried about that." Belar must have thought he was all talk when she said, "Do you really think they will let you fight them, they will chain you to the wall and do what they have done before, I'm sure your ass remembers let alone your back and impressive manhood. If you aren't chained up they will just kill you from here safe on the other side of these bars." The thought of what he had endured at the hands of this family, it set his blood to boil and he said as his anger got the better of him, "You know I am fed up with hiding from any of you, from this day on I am going on the offensive, do you really think that these can stop me." He grabbed the chains, braced his feet on the wall, and pulled them as he did he felt a rush of warmth flow through his arms and into the chains as they came off the wall. Still feeling this power flowing through him and high on the power said, "You think these bars will keep you safe." He grabbed the cell door and lifted it off its pins and tossed it to the floor, he walked out and looked a terrified Belar in the eye and said, "Maybe they will use magic on me." He walked over to the wall that had wards on it and put his hand on the wall and felt a wave of energy like he had been shocked pass through him and to the wall. He felt he could do anything but the looks he got from both of them made him think twice about what had happened. Both of them looked at the wall and at him, in a few minutes he had destroyed his cell and removed all the wards on the wall. He could see they were worried for their safety, he could hardly contain myself, whatever had happened to him seemed to respond to what he could picture if he focused and quieted his inner-self. He closed his eyes and tried to get a feel for this strange power that they called magic, it had to be that what else could it be? It felt like he was standing on the shore with the waves washing up at his feet and before him was a vast ocean, he understood this power was like that ocean and all he had to do was walk into it. He was shaken from his reverie when he heard from one of the two clearly scared women, "How long have you been able to do that?" It was Zilvra and the edge on her voice was noticeable, as Henri said, "Just now really, I mean when we were sparing it felt like a wall came down and the power was flowing through me, now it is like the air we breathe, the only difference is that I know is it there and can control it a little if I focus, I think. What bothers me is I can now feel this energy flowing through the ground and the walls and that is new." He saw Belar's eyes widen, she knew exactly what he was feeling and he could see she was worried about that, she asked tentatively, "Can you see the magic in people?" 'What', he thought, he couldn't see anything, but from the look Zilvra had given her this was important and said, "No, I just feel it in the walls and floor even the ceiling as well." Zilvra stood between Henri and Belar signing, *what are you thinking? It takes a training to see auras for us, I can sense them but not see them. Do you really think he can access dark magic like you?* Belar signed her hands going a mile a minute, *It is clear that he has divine magic, the forming of that thing in the courtyard is proof of that. If he can feel the flow it is a matter of time before he can access it and a lay line is not far from here. Why do think this city was built here, all Drow cities are made near ley lines for the very reason that Mithril is formed there. You just saw what he can do with that divine magic, could you imagine what would happen if he tapped into a ley line let alone a convergence point, we don't go near those because of the wild magic that flows from it. If he can use magic we may need to use that if we are going to escape from here to the surface, staying is not an option any more. We have no choice, Shynta will want to dissect you to see how he did what he did to you and with you out of the way those two will most certainly move against me, so me staying here has put my life in danger. Your lack of love for any member of this family kept them in check, Shynta and Mica will gather our other sisters who are little more than pawns for Shynta, the indecision was enough to leave me be and not knowing who would get you to ally with them made it all the better for me. We are out of time and options, I am laying all my cards on the table, so far he has proven to be a loyal ally and this is not our way but I am going to trust him and really what choice do we have?* Zilvra turned towards Henri, he smiled because he had seen in her mind what she had signed, as she went to speak he cut her off saying, "Thank you, I have no intention of breaking our alliance. If we are in that much danger then why not leave now, with Zilvra scouting we can make life rough for them and out there we will have room to maneuver. I don't trust you as far as you can throw me, but get me, my weapons and to the surface and I don't care how hard they try I won't be caught and they will pay for trying to, and dearly I might add." Zilvra and Belar both looked at each other and realized that our connection was still there. He gave them a knowing glance that confirmed it. Belar had other ideas, and asked, "Can you control the connection the two of you have?" He smirked know he had at least a little and said, "Zilvra, what did you feel from my bet with Belar yesterday?" She looked at both of us over and over before replying, "Nothing, why?" Henri looked at Belar and said, "We can block out connection, or at the very least I can block her out. Once I knew she could feel the abuse your lovely sisters dealt out to me I started blocking it." Belar was contemplating as Zilvra asked, "How do you block it? I don't want you being able to spy on me." He couldn't argue with that request and tried to explain it clearly, "This is how I did it, I hope it works for you. Close your eyes now block off everything but my voice do you feel that flow pushing at the back of your head? That is our link, I pictured a wall there and now you can't feel any of the things that I do. I don't want you to either, I know your sisters will come after me again and this time it might just be fatal so I am trying to find ways to sever our connection, if they come to kill me, I don't want you to get hurt because of it. Before you argue with me just know I won't stop till you are free of this." As Belar, Henri and Zilvra continued to discuss things, Shynta listened in from the shadows, she had long considered Belar a nonfactor because she could not get anybody to ally with her in any power moves and figured she would keep from making trouble to cover her own ass. Now, she had Henri as an ally and after all what they had done she felt a little betrayed but even more aroused by the thought of him trying to kill her. She wondered what all he was capable of? She wondered how Belar had gotten him as an ally and now wondered how dangerous Belar had become she even wondered how getting Belar pregnant would play out, she knew from her own children that Belar would know she was with child in about a week. From what she saw from Henri she was almost certain that Belar's child would be a very powerful magic user and would be taken and trained as a priestess of Lloth if she had a girl if she had a boy he would go to the tower and would one day be the Archmage, because of how powerful Henri's aura seemed, this did not sit well with her. Shynta thought about catching herself and carrying his child, as a mother she remembered communing with her son before his birth and the spike in her abilities before he was born, she wondered what such a communion would get her if it was Henri's, she felt a burning in her loins at the thought. Shynta heard the discussion dying out and headed out, followed by Belar and Zilvra not three minutes later. Mica was in her room writing a report for Dirzune as she finished her report she cast the message spell, she wasn't going to risk the message pellets which allowed for two way communication, but could be overheard. As she finished the spell she watched the words disappear from the paper she had written it on. She didn't like the thought of waiting to kill the human he was getting more and more dangerous by the day, but she had agreed for two reasons, one if he used his power in the match they would have the help of every female there and as a threat he would pose none, two she wanted to see how far Shynta was willing to go for the human. *********** Dirzune had spent the past week going over all of her findings about renewal and together with Rikton they had discovered that they were fairly confident that Henri was indeed the guardian, this was rendered moot when she read Micarylafay's report, and they both discussed the impact of not only his powers but him being the guardian on their society as a whole. They had uncovered that a forces greater than Lloth, were the ones that had brought Henri here, these great creators had power that went beyond Lloth. This was especially tough for Dirzune to accept, she had dedicated her life to serving Lloth and accumulating power and now she was looking at the fact that even her goddess answered to more powerful beings. She turned to Rikton and said truly concerned, "What shall we do? If they kill him then we are all dead. If we tip our hand we may find ourselves before the altar for defying Lloth. What I really I don't like is, what will the greater goddesses do to us for that? I don't like this one bit and wish he had never come here." Rikton had never spent so much time with Dirzune and was enjoying every minute of it, he offered the only logical solution, "He has to get out of the Foreverdark and to the gate that the Mountain Dwarves have built, he is as good as dead here. I think we should cover our bets and if he goes to the surface we send Tazyrr and Ethevrar'yl with him, our children are not old enough to be of any factor in what is to come and if we are on the losing side then your house will be gone as will mine." Dirzune didn't like this idea maybe it was her mother's instinct or maybe something more, "You are saying we trust our children to him. If what you fear happens, then what will happen to them?" He looked at her and was shocked by the motherly comment he had just heard, he offered, "They will be on his world and from what we know they don't know anything about us so they wouldn't be treated poorly. Besides I don't think he would hold our crimes against our children, it is not how humans are from my conversations with Alak that is. If they proved to be helpful to him, then he would protect them, humans are very protective of children from Alak's reports." She looked at him and couldn't believe he was thinking of doing that, she asked knowing how difficult her children can be, "How would you get them to listen to him, Tazyrr might because Henri is a male and Tazyrr is still very young, but Ethe is two years from completing her studies, she will never listen to a male she is very head strong." He responded with an option he didn't like, "We can put a compulsion on her, the kind that will fade away in 10 years or so." Dirzune didn't like the thought of putting a compulsion on her daughter but knew Rikton had a point, compulsions tended to weaken whoever had such a thing on them and weakening of her daughter was like weakening her house and that was unacceptable. One idea that did run through her head briefly was going with them to the surface and leaving all together, she had a very bad feeling about renewal and had since she first heard the stories as a little girl over 350 years ago, something about them didn't sit right with her and now that voice was starting to scream at her. She put Rikton's plan on the back burner and waited for more information before making a move, she did however make one move she went to meet with Shrilara to have them get in place to strike house Hla'ath if needed to protect Henri and to gather more information, upon returning she talked briefly with Rikton before turning in. *********** That evening as all of Intra'minynda went into reverie Lloth's dreamscape started as all loyal worshipers saw Henri with three huge spiders standing with their backs to him between himself and many Drowesses, as one Drowess tried to walk past she was attacked by the spiders and ripped to shreds. *********** In Dirzune's dream she saw herself standing in front of Henri like she was protecting him, when she looked to her right she saw two large spiders and as a Drowess tried to walk past the two huge spiders they attacked and ripped the Drowess to shreds. *********** In the empresses chamber she was communing with Lloth who was instructing her to get Dark Sister ready for war and to bolster them by any means possible. She instructed her to start corrupting her own priestesses except for Dirzune, who was going to be her champion, she should strip all power from her and take direct control of her subordinates. She ordered her pet to bring her own half demon to the alter room and feed her like she was her daughter's sire. With that Lloth slipped back into her plain and started the engines of war the time was almost at hand and she smiled as her long awaited revenge was close. Her best chance at victory was to siege the gate if Henri chose to go to the surface and prevent the surface races from going through at all costs, she understood that her daughter's children would be no match for her forces without help but steps needed to be taken for that as well. *********** On the moon sits a woman with flowing red hair that curled from her ears down, her white wings tucked behind her, her sobs could be heard as she watched Earth and the ongoing wars, struggles of people trying to get enough to eat, shelter from the cold and medical care to stave off diseases which hadn't been seen in centuries. Behind her another angel walked out of a ripple that formed from transit space, tucking his black wings behind him. In contrast to the woman before him who anyone could clearly tell was a woman, this man was more androgynous, his long black hair only added to that, his gray eyes sparkled with intelligence. As he walked up he put his dainty hand on her shoulder and said, "Watching your children again?" She spoke in a measured tone clearly annoyed with the person speaking saying, "What do you want Lucifer? I am in no mood for your games." Lucifer perked and eyebrow and replied, "When have I played a game that you could not win my dear Gabriella?" She sighed clearly more annoyed, "You never have, but why is that you never speak your mind, I am your sister after all and stop calling them my children, it isn't funny." He loved teasing his sister and like any brother wasn't going to stop now and replied, "I call them your children because you watch over them like a mother would. If our mother loved her creations like you do them, you would never do anything and father would be very unhappy." She dried her eyes and asked imploring, "Why does father hate them so? What have they done to deserve this?" she pointed to the screen she was watching, all the horrors that man can bring upon itself. He said bluntly in a voice that said more than he was, "He doesn't hate them, in fact he loves them deeply, and they will grow far beyond their own home and seed life across the universe. They must be made of stronger stuff because of their home and the coming conjunction, which is why." She looked at him with her emerald green eyes and said coldly, "This is your doing, isn't it?" He loved how protective his sister was and knew her choosing to be a woman was the right choice. He replied stoically, "Yes, it was, they must choose a future, will they go to the stars or will they walk back into the darkness. I told mother that they would split and some would go to the stars and some would stay." She wasn't happy with his answer, but dropped that line of questioning and said, "You still haven't answered my question. Why are you hear? And what do you want?" Lucifer had nearly forgotten and said, "I came to tell you the keeper has synergized with the codex and you know what that means." She knew that meant she would need to be ready to meet his duties, the codex bound her to work with him. This meant that when he opened the gate to earth for the conjunction she would open the other gates. She knew this meant at some point she would have to show herself to Henri. As she pondered the gravity of this development, she opened a screen before her and saw Henri sitting in a cell with Drow around him. She asked, "What has he done to be in their hands? Has he angered father to earn this fate?" He just sighed and said, "The Drowess, Eilistraee asked he be sent to them so he could lead her children as she called them out of the darkness." She glared at him and said, "I don't trust her, but I guess this is more of your management, isn't it?" He shook his head no and before he could say anything she said, "Brother, the fates answer to you and I know you have seen what might transpire, so tell me the truth, can I trust her, can he trust her?" Lucifer said knowing his sister would worry over this one human, "Dear sister, her mother is very cunning and worthy foe, but the only way she can stay in power is to crash the gate on the surface or hit her daughters' children on the surface before they go to renewal. If Eilistraee still has the bulk of her followers or the gate remains open on the surface then Lloth is finished. She has many enemies and they would work together to get rid of her and she knows this. So, to answer your question can he trust her, I would say yes. Can he trust those around him, again I say yes. Lloth made a mistake with Dirzune, she has been digging into renewal, plus she has to be open to betrayal as Lloth's inquisitor. She will find the prediction of her goddesses death, so when she gets to the surface and learns the fate of their world, she will betray her goddess for the betterment of her people." Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 03 Gabriella looked at Henri and was certain she knew him from somewhere and asked, "I have seen him from someplace else before I brought him here. What made our parents choose him?" He knew his sister wanted to know who she was working with and said, "You know him from the passing ritual, it was he who summoned you and it was that compassion that made father talk mother into choosing him. You know his mother better for you showed her many futures for him. If you are looking to learn about him go to the resting places of those who he has helped and talk to them. Ask Yuuya's mother if she approves of him, ask the two men who passed, ask his parents and ask the wife that the Captain left behind about him and decide if he is worthy of you." She bit her lip as she considered his words, she knew he wouldn't have her do that just to hear that he was a bad choice, but still she wanted to know him before she came to him. She stood and threw her arms around her brother and hugged him as she did he said, "He will prove you are a very good mother." She just smiled at her brothers teasing and kissed him on the cheek before spreading her wings and opening a rift as she flew into transit space and off to the heavens. She headed to paradise and off to meet with Henri's parents as she got there she recognized his mother right away. She landed and tucked her wings behind her and walked up to them and made her presence known. Maria smiled and invited her to join them at the waterfall were Maria had had visions of her and Jacque's fates this was their personal paradise as Jacque was busy with the grill, he looked up and smiled a welcoming smile at the angel. Gabriella knew angels were always welcome and her twice as much, because she brought news. Maria implored, "Please, sit won't you have some wine, we will be eating as soon as Jacque gets the grill working." She winked at her husband and turned her puppy dog eyes on him. Jacque beaming his 1000 watt smile at Gabriella as he asked, "What brings you to us, are we going to be grandparents of our own child?" Gabriella liked both of them deeply and said, "No, I have come to ask you about Henri. You do have a granddaughter, but I fear her mother will terminate as soon as she knows, her people don't like mixed blood." Maria looked worried and knew that the only time they were asked about a child is when they have died and they didn't live a good enough life for entry to paradise. She asked tears coming to her eyes, "Henri, hasn't passed his trial because he was a soldier and we must help him, right?" She shook her head no, much to the relief of his parents and said, "Maria, do you remember one of the futures that I showed he might have?" She nodded and was about to speak when Gabriella said, "He was chosen to be the keeper and I wish to know about him and know the man that I must show myself to." Jacque put his arms around his wife, his embrace both honest and endearing, for Gabriella this was proof of a love that will never end. He asked wondering how he might help his son, "What do you need to know exactly? I mean we have not been with him for who knows how long, time has no meaning here." She said, "Tell of him as a person and what you think of his choices he has made since you have pasted and if you must know it has been twelve years since I took you both." They looked at each other and with guilt written on both their faces Maria said, "Since he joined the army we haven't watched him, neither of us think him joining the military was the right choice let alone the American military. We realized he wanted to be with us, but that is not the way, he is not a murderer and we cannot watch him try and kill himself. I can say that while we were alive he was a happy child who was always looking out for his brother and sister, even now he takes care of them, that is the real him, a protector of that which he hold dear. Can we see him now that he has been chosen?" She said solemnly, "That is something he will have to ask me, you can only see them on those days that go with your faith and being catholic that is Day of the Dead and Good Friday. When I show myself I will explain myself to him and if he asks he can talk with and even touch you for a short time, but that he must choose for himself. I thank you for seeing me, but I must go and meet with the parents of his adopted children and get their thoughts on him." With that she left Henri's parents feeling lost, why would Lucifer tell her to talk to them? Only to find out they were not happy he had walked one of the paths she had shown Maria. As she walked into the paradise that was Kirara's parents paradise, she bowed and said, "I have come to ask for your thoughts on the man who has been watching over your child Kirara, will you honor my request?" Kirara's parents stood shocked as angels do not bow before them, then bowed deeply and said, "Please tell us the man that has given her back her smile is not coming here, for that would be a fate too cruel for her and us." She bowed again and said, "He will not be coming here. He has been chosen for a greater purpose and I wish to know your thoughts of him. It can help guide me as I am to help him and wish to learn about him." They sighed in relief and said, "What can we say about him that won't sound like a lie, our child was lost when we passed and did things no child should ever have to do. When he found her, she was little more than an animal and still he took care of her and protected her, until recently she has been all smiles and happy to have a brother, but for the past two weeks she has been nervous and sad. We are grateful that he has taught our child to smile again after all she has been through, we couldn't say enough good things about him. We wish he was with her more, but we understand he is defending our home and our child, he even makes sure that she is surrounded by people who love her. We would like to know why he took her in." She asked stoically, "Why do you think he took her in?" They looked at each as if searching for an answer and said, "We think he is trying to make up for what he has done as a soldier. I mean he is not one of us, so why else would he." She didn't say anything, but simply pulled up a screen and showed them how it was for him growing up in Japan. When the screen disappeared she said, "He understand you better than you think and as you saw he lost his parents in the great quake and tsunami that hit twelve years ago. Maybe he didn't want her to be alone and parent less, maybe he had seen too much suffering in a place that has been his home and thought that helping one person was giving back to a place that he used to call home." They looked at each other and hung their heads, Gabriella excused herself and walked out leaving them to contemplate what they have seen. As she headed over to Yuuya's parents paradise, as she entered she looked around at the cold paradise she saw before her. She asked lost in their choice, "Do you love winter this much?" Yuuya's mother said sounding cold and distant, "We will have no warmth here until we are all together again. Why have you come to see us?" She said bluntly, "I want to know your thoughts on the man who is raising your son Yuuya." The woman's smile beamed as tears streaked her face, her husband looked at her puzzled. She grabbed her husband kissed him and finally said, "He kept his word. Honey he kept his word, before I died, I told him our son was named Yuuya, he said that is what we will call him, he also promised that my child would know about me. I didn't have time to tell him where you were." She asked still crying, "What do wish to know about him? Not that I have seen him much as I can't watch over him." Gabriella smiled and showed what he had carved into the tree under which she was buried, it read 'here lies an unknown woman who gave birth to Yuuya Bordeaux and asked a stranger to raise him as his own, she gave her life for his in this greatest of all acts of love, she is smiling on him from this day on and will always be welcome in my home and his.' As she looked at the snow melting before her eyes she heard the sounds of crying coming from Yuuya's mother. She said sobbing, "He kept his word, for all this time I thought he hadn't and he even welcomes spirits like us in to his house." She looked at Gabriella and said, "I am sorry I can't tell you anything about the man watching Yuuya." Just as Gabriella was about to ask why, she heard the woman say, "Because anything I would say would just be me telling you how wonderful he is. Can we go to Yuuya's home and watch over him." Gabriella smiled and said, "Henri has invited you and that means you can. Please tell Yuuya that Henri is still alive, they told his sister that Henri is missing in action, he is fine and hopefully soon they will find him. They will be sent to France the home of Henri's brother and sister, you can visit Yuuya, but be careful Henri invited you into his home and not theirs." Gabriella smiled and thanked them for their help, as she walked out of their paradise and flew off to transit, her brother's words came back to her and she realized that he had played her knowing she would go and find out what he already knew. Lucifer was most certainly in a different league when it came to putting his intelligence to use. Opening a rift on to the largest of the three moons that orbited Alirota and opened a screen and started watching over Henri and waiting. She had two jobs, first was the part of her job she truly loved and that was placing a new soul in the growing body that would be its home, she did this for all humans since as her brother put it they were her children. She looked down at half of the soul that would be Henri's daughter with Belarbreena, held in a device called the cage of souls meant for carrying souls to and from their body on the Prime Material Plane, this allowed the soul to live outside of a body or the great flow that all souls were made from. Her second job was to present herself to Henri when the time was right. As she sat on he moon watching Henri as he slept, waiting for the right time to place the new soul into the new life that would be Henri and Balar's child and contemplating what her brother and the others had said. She looked around wondering how they got in to her room because she could feel the ward still active, as her eyes focused she didn't see anybody in her room. She thought, 'Damn link they are talking to Henri and now I can hear them.' Listening she heard or thought she heard Shynta saying, "How can we both have the same dream?" Mica replied, "It was a message from Lloth telling us not to kill him and that three us of are chosen to protect him." She also heard what sounded like Mica but like she was whispering saying, *Why would she want him protected? Does that mean I am to protect him from other Drowess'? What would make him that important? Who are his other protectors?* as the voice faded she started to see a vision of Henri standing with his back to a wall and three giant spiders with their backs to him in front of several Drowess' as one tries to walk past the spiders attack and kill the Drowess. He vision ends as she hears Shynta ask, "Why would Lloth want him protected? Who will be his protectors?" Like with Mica again she hears what sounded like Shynta whispering saying, *I am the eldest of this so house I must be one of those protectors and if it is this house then that means Zilvra must be one as well so who is the third, Belar is one choice she has been spending time with him and Zilvra, or would Mica be the other she is a priestess after all.* Zilvra didn't like the thought of having to protect Henri let alone doing so with either of her sisters, but if she had a choice then she would want Belar, while Shynta was a powerful mage in her own right she couldn't relax around her no matter what. The thought of Mica was even worse, Mica was very orthodox, and it was a certainty in Zilvra's mind that Mica and Henri would clash, so how could she protect him. For that fact Shynta wouldn't give up her power over him and he most certainly would continue to defy her and that would lead to fight, so she can't be his protector either. As far as she was concerned it would have to be her, Belar and another Drowess, the vision she saw had no males, so she could rule them out. Zilvra's thoughts are interrupted when she hears Mica saying, "One thing is certain and that is Zilvra is without a doubt one of his protectors. We have both seen how she has a portion of his aura in her. Look at her door, we can feel the ward from here, her magic has never been that strong, we have both tried to break her ward and we can't. If we had the same dream it might mean we are to protect him with her, but I don't think so, Lloth would have put us in front of him not looking at the huge spiders. However, that doesn't mean we can't help, clearly Lloth has a plan for him and as her servants it is our job to get him ready to serve her. Let's ask Belar and Zilvra if they had the same vision as we did, if they did then Lloth has not chosen his protectors and if they have had different visions then we are not chosen for that role." Zilvra's mind was racing, he had done something to her and now her aura was different, she knew she had changed physically but now it seemed part of him was changing her more, and why was she able to hear them so clearly when she can't cast scrying spells at all, so how can she hear them. Zilvra dressed quickly and headed out hoping to catch her sisters as she let down her ward she heard, "She is coming out let's ask her about her vision." She opened her door and walked out as she approached she heard Shynta whispering, *her aura is different, not a wild as it was before, what has changed.* Zilvra noticed she didn't see her lips move, yet she clearly heard her whispering, thinking nothing of it she went to walk past her sisters. Mica asked her, "Zilvra did you have a dream last night about Henri?" She looked at her sister trying to read her and asked, "Why would I have a dream about him?" Mica looked at her and asked displeased, "Did you see him with anybody in your dreams?" Zilvra heard Mica whispering, *She is playing stupid or she is afraid to tell us she is one of his protectors.* Zilvra looked at her sister and again she didn't see her lips move. She wondered if she was reading their minds or if this was Henri's doing and she was picking it up from their link. Trying not to freak out from what was going on she said, "I saw him standing behind me as I killed Shynta with others watching, next I saw the surface and how noisy it is. Why?" She couldn't hide her smile as she added that to the mix just to fuck with her sister. As she said that she heard Shynta whispering, *Does Lloth wish me dead? Is that why she gave her that vision, I will have to be on my guard. Why would Lloth want him on the surface?* Shynta was visibly shaken when she asked, "Did you see any others with you?" Zilvra could feel the anxiety from them wrapping around her like a blanket, she felt uncomfortable and said, "I was messing with you, Shynta I didn't see myself killing you relax, and I added that as my own dream." Shynta's eyes flashed red in anger and embarrassment and was about to speak when Mica said, "Let's go see if Belar had the same dream, we need to figure out what is happening. One thing is certain, we cannot kill him, that much is clear and if I were to guess this house is to protect him." Zilvra sighed in relief that he had been saved by of all people Lloth, and it appeared that she was to protect him. While she knew he wanted out of the darkness just as bad as she did, she wasn't sure she wanted her fate tied to his. If she told the truth that she had no such dream, what would that mean? In truth she hadn't prayed to Lloth in over a century and a half, she blamed the goddess for the short comings of her people, she also knew that Mica would turn her in to Dirzune for inquisition and in all likely hood to the alter as a sacrifice. As they were heading towards Belar's room they found her heading towards the stairs leading to Henri's cell. Shynta stopped her and started asking her if she had a dream about Henri just like she had with Zilvra. Zilvra thought quickly and standing behind both Mica and Shynta, she had a clear view without being seen so she signed, *Tell them in your dream you were standing between Henri and them or Mica will have you on the altar.* Belar told them just that and when they asked if other Drowess' were there she saw Zilvra nod out of the corner of her eye and said yes. Belar demanded to know what was going on and why it was important. They explained as Zilvra heard that whispering coming from Shynta saying, *did she get chosen because I gave her a fertility draught? And now she is carrying Henri's child.* Zilvra had no idea how to handle this information, she was certain the Belar would not keep Henri's child, most half-breeds were killed long before they were birthed the only ones that were kept were the half-demon males. The thing that disturbed her even more was that she didn't see Shynta saying anything, Zilvra hopped beyond all hope that this was part of Henri's link and she was just listening to him. If not her very life was in even grater danger. No this must be her link with Henri, like how he understood Drow when she was around. She clinged to that thought and hope like condemned man to a pardon. They talked about going down and seeing Henri and seeing if Lloth had given him a vision, they all agreed it was unlikely, but they would ask. What did Mica mean by they had other roles? Would being his protector also protect her from them? Why was she hearing more and more people whispering? Her unwillingness to accept the truth had her believing that Henri's powers that powerful. As she headed down the stairs to Henri's cell, as they entered the hall where his sword was kept she saw both Shynta and Mica wince in pain but she didn't see Belar wince at all. Was this more proof they were chosen? As they entered the block that Henri's cell was in they could see that he had put the door back on his cell, but he hadn't put a ward back up or put the chains back on the wall. The sight of the chains pulled off the wall left both Shynta and Mica feeling uncomfortable and was compounded by the look they got when they entered. When Henri saw Zilvra and Belar walking in with Shynta and Mica he felt betrayed by them. He kind of half expected Belar to betray him at some point but Zilvra he was certain was nothing like those three. Henri glared at Shynta and said coldly, "What brings you here? Let me guess four of you one of me that means you must have those darts with you." He turned round and pointed to the chains they had kept him chained up to when they wanted to have their way with him and said, "As you can see you won't be able to chain me up and beat me like the other times. I know maybe you want to come in here and we can find out what your death face looks like." Shynta felt that fire down below every time he challenged her and was about to speak when Mica cut her off saying, "We haven't come here to fight or even to hurt you. We have questions that you might be able to answer, if you answer them then nothing will happen to you, don't and we will have no choice but to use other methods and you have seen some of our methods, so wouldn't answering our questions be easier?" Henri smirked knowing the first one that came in the door was the first to die and said, "Sure, I'll bite. What do you want to know?" Mica asked wondering if he had any say in his champions, "If you had to choose three of our people to protect you who would you choose?" He looked at her like she had been smoking crack and said, "Why would I want or need three of you to protect me?" Mica replied knowing he was going to be obstinate, "For example, if the leaders of this city wanted you dead and you needed three of us to escort you out of this city who would you choose?" Henri replied wondering when she was going to make her point, "If I had to choose three then I would choose the two behind you and Alak." Mica looked puzzled she had never considered that a male could be chosen she asked, "Why would you choose those three and not me or any of my other sisters?" He didn't know what this information was going to be used for, he looked to Zilvra for advice she just shrugged. Henri said, "I would choose Alak because he knows how to get to the surface, Zilvra because she knows this area and Belar because I don't know any others except for Dirzune and the guards, so I can eliminate the others for that reason. I wouldn't choose you and your remaining sisters because I would snap Shynta's neck the second I was out of this cell and after her would follow you and the rest of your sisters. Do you think I have forgotten the beatings and rapes I took at your hands? I will never forgive you for that. If I had the power I would wipe your kind off the face of this planet. If I had a choice I wouldn't take any of you. Had I known then what I know now Zilvra would be dead and those Dwarves would be alive today, hell I would have gladly helped them." Mica knew what he said was true, she remembered what Alak had said about humans being big on forgiveness. Wanting to test this she asked "It is true we have done things that seem bad to you. What can we do to make up for that? Besides dying of course." Henri said looking for the trap in her words, "Nothing, I was never big on forgiveness in the first place. I know what you can do and I will forget all about the shit you and your sisters did to me and that is let me go to the surface and I might forgive you. Look at this way, you will be rid of me and the weird things I can do that scare the shit out of you." Mica trying to find anything to build from said, "I wish I could grant that request, but our goddess wants you here and for some reason wants you to be protected. So that means the house Hla'ath must protect you that includes me and my other sisters. I would also like to know if you have had any visions or dreams about any of us." Henri looked at her, he could see concern written all over her face. Another religious fool seeing signs from her goddess everywhere and said, "Again, I don't want your protection, hell I don't even want you in my face. I understand that something happened and you are scared shitless, but if you think I will just roll over and play nice, well you've got about twelve other things coming. As far as your goddess goes she can go fuck herself for all I care, I told Dirzune and now I'm telling you I will never bow down to your goddess. Just so you understand me correctly, I will gladly die to get my hands on either one of you and well if the other two want in on the fun then I will gladly add to the body count. If you wanted peace my answer is fuck you. If you wanted an ally again fuck you. If you wanted to piss me off then your job is done and so is this retarded ass conversation you can get the fuck out now." Mica didn't like the way this was going and knew that he held power over them for now and he knew it. She said clearly disappointed, "We will go for now but know this, we will be back and I hope you can talk to us normally. I also hope our future exchanges will be more fruitful." She turned to Shynta and led her out of the cell block leaving Belar and Zilvra to deal with him. As they headed out she explained to Shynta that direct confrontation won't work with Henri. As they walked off they tried to come up with a better plan to get on Henri's good side. Shynta didn't like the conversation she had just listened in on. She couldn't understand why she wouldn't be chosen or even why he had such hatred for her. She had only treated him like a male is treated, yet he kept fighting how things were done. She knew things wouldn't change and he would never change them so why fight what will never change in her lifetime let alone in his very short one. She was certain of one thing and that was how badly she wanted him and even how much she enjoyed giving herself to him that one time. That was when it hit her, she would consult Alak who knew the most about humans and even adopt Belar's approach and smiled at the thought. Mica seeing Shynta smile asked, "What has you smiling after that?" Shynta turned that demented smile towards her sister and said, "Who knows the most about the surface?" Mica turned to her sister and tried to figure out where she was going with this and said, "Alak, even Intra and her advisers listen to him about the surface." Shynta could tell Mica hadn't figured out what she was up to and said, "So who would have the most information about humans then?" Mica felt like she was missing something important but couldn't figure out what and said, "Again Alak, but why is that important?" Shynta realized that Mica had been too busy with her duties as a priestess to know as much as she did about humans. Shynta also knew that if her house was going to protect Henri then she needed Mica and said, "Alak will tell us how to get on Henri's good side, what we have been doing hasn't worked so I am going to do the opposite of what we would normally do and see if that helps. I might even take a page from Belar's book and sleep with him, when he falls for our charms he will give us what we want." Mica didn't like the thought of sleeping with this dog, but had to admit that Shynta's thinking was sound and said, "I agree on consulting Alak and even doing things very differently, as long as he does not embarrass this house if he does we do things our way." Shynta was happy to hear that and agreed if Henri did anything that caused the house to lose face he would be disciplined accordingly. As they walked off in the direction of Alak with a plan in hand. Meanwhile Belar and Zilvra stood staring at Henri. Belar felt hurt by his willingness to kill both of them and broke the silence first by asking, "Do you really hate us that much? I haven't broken our agreement and as far as I know Zilvra hasn't either." Henri was still fuming and snapped, "To be honest, yes I do. What have I gotten from being here but beaten, raped and treated like shit. If you're going to abuse a dog don't be surprised if it always wants to bite you. What would you think if yesterday you heard the same people talking about cutting their losses and selling me out and today you see them with the two people that want you at the very least beaten if not dead. It is stupid of me to trust any of you, right!" Zilvra said unemotionally, "You right, you shouldn't. Trust is something none of us have or can afford. I'm glad to see you are accepting our ways, you might make a fine Drow one day if you live that long. Know this if you ever out live your usefulness to any of us we won't think twice in killing or getting rid of you that is our way, I don't like it but I am not going to say sorry for it either." He glared at her and said, "Then your people truly are doomed. If no one can trust you then you will have no friends and that just means you will have more enemies with no help, one day when you need an ally and you will find none. That will be the day that your people become part of history and nobody will remember you or any of the things you have done, children will laugh at stories of the dreaded Drow. All your fear and power that you covet will be for naught that is your future." Belar didn't like that she knew her people had many enemies and if they ever got together and attacked they would be beaten. When Zilvra heard what he said she felt vindicated, she had always believed that their ways were wrong and that all this in fighting and back stabbing was only hurting them. While they both doubted that any one group could defeat them without some form of betrayal from within. Zilvra said clinically, "I don't doubt that one day that will happen. I also know that I alone can't change anything, the more you stick out the more you will become a target. That is why I want out of here, I don't want to be a target and I am tired of hiding from what is the truth." Belar wanted to change the subject and as she went to ask Zilvra why she told her to say what she said about a dream she didn't have. Zilvra interrupted saying, "I told you that because both you and I didn't have this dream, I heard Mica and Shynta talking in the hallway this morning and I have overheard everybody in the house talking about that dream and if we said we didn't have that dream, they would know we don't give Lloth her just due and it would be the altar for both of us. Although I doubt that now, we have bought ourselves some time at least. Lloth wants Henri for some reason and as his protectors we might have to worry about other things." As Belar was about to say that she hadn't said anything. Zilvra again interrupted saying, "I heard you clear as a bell wondering why I had signed what I signed." Henri looked at Zilvra and then to Belar who was slack jawed, back to Zilvra and said, "Zilvra, Belar didn't say anything. I am standing right here and I didn't hear her say a word nor did I see her lips move. Are you sure you heard her?" Zilvra looked at him confused, still denying the truth of what had happened to her and said, "I heard her like I can her that damn guard, wondering what he has to do to get his shot at Belar and her nice ass. Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 04 Which is funny because Shynta slipped a fertility draught in her wine before she came to see you and now she is carrying your child." It was Henri's turn to be slack jawed as he looked at Belar who was now just shy of a full blown panic attack. He asked still reeling, "Zilvra, what exactly does a fertility draught do?" Belar still hadn't said a word as Zilvra explained, "It makes it so we can conceive when it is not our time. It takes about thirty minutes to work, so by the time she left to the time she came to your cell she was fertile and you have put a child in her. Shynta says she will know in a week and in two she will know the sex, she says that your child could be the most powerful of this house because of your strange aura, something about it being a yellowish-white with a just as large black aura and about the size of your heart is blue." Belar was snapped back to reality and was thinking that Zilvra was reading our minds because the door is closed and there are no wards in the room. When Zilvra finally realized her sister wasn't talking but thinking about these things and said, "Don't be silly, if I could read minds I would know what Henri was thinking and not just you and the guard..." Zilvra stopped suddenly and looked at her now terrified sister who didn't know what to think and then to the closed door, the fully gravity of what she truly was starting to come through. She turned and looked at Henri as he stood dumbfounded as she asked, "I can read them, can't I? I would never be able to hear people talking from the other side of the door from here but why can't I read you and can you read me?" Wow good question he did have an idea and said, "Remember when I was being beaten and you could feel it?" She nodded and he continued, "I built a wall to keep you from getting those messages maybe that is blocking you from reading me. Belar try to picture a wall in your mind and maybe you can keep her out, now Zilvra don't focus just talk with me and let's see what happens." Belar did as he asked and started to think about how this ability would be damaging to her people, they could never plot around Zilvra and the secrets she could get. Zilvra was as good as dead if they found out or they would put several compulsion one her to keep her loyal then breed her for her powers. At the same time Zilvra wanting to know if this had something to with her link asked, "Do you think both of us have this ability? Is it part of what ever this connection is that we share?" Belar interjected and said, "I think the wall works I was just thinking how dangerous her power is. I think you have this ability and Henri doesn't, otherwise Henri would have known what everybody was thinking but he can't, right?" Henri nodded but he could see that Belar was very uncomfortable with this Zilvra cut off my train of thought, as she could feel the fear rolling off Belar and it was making her freak out a little as she said, "I can feel how scared you are. This is weird I can get feelings and thoughts, what have you done to me and when will this stop? If anybody found out about this I would be thrown out of our society. I really think we need to get you out of here and when we do I will have to go and stay gone, I will attract Mind Flayers for one and who knows what else." Henri didn't really want to practice, but he wanted to change the subject. Part of him wanted to know what was really happening to both of them and what was all that about my aura being different colors? He needed the distraction and he could tell Zilvra would as well. Henri asked, "Shall we practice today? I did promise that today I would start teaching what I know of how the Samurai fought. A promise is still a promise regardless of how much your family pisses me off, now just because you will probably whip my ass quick, just means I don't fight with swords, hell I will probably be learning from you more than anything." Zilvra and Belar both agreed to head out to the courtyard for practice as we headed out he asked for two pieces of wood and did like he had yesterday picturing the wood turning into a matching pair of Bokkens and again he got the looks of surprise and shock. The interesting thing was to see how everybody was looking at him and then to Zilvra and Belar. Deep down he wondered if they thought they were his protectors from their dream. Henri wondered if she could use her powers in combat or if focusing on something would stop it. Once they got to the courtyard he tossed one Bokken to Zilvra and said, "This is a Bokken it is meant for practicing form, you can easily split a head open with these and I really don't feel like a concussion today so we are going to go over some strikes and maybe a little unarmed sparing if you can keep from trying to split my head open." Zilvra offered with a downright vicious smile, "Why don't we spar and I can see what skills you have and I can see if you can teach me anything. As for teaching you I have no patience for such things." Henri didn't like the look on her face and knew she was going to try something, but he had two advantages one he was bigger and two if she stepped inside his reach he could always switch to hand to hand where he knew he could beat her. She grabbed the Bokken in one hand and checked its weight saying it was heavier than she was used to. Henri grabbed his Bokken and held it on his left hip like he was going to draw it and kept his right shoulder towards her they looked like a T and started to circle each other. Henri was up on the balls of his feet ready to dodge and reading her body like he did when we spared, he could tell from her arms and feet that she was going to charge and strike soon, as her grip tightened she charged into his reach. When she did he went for a quick strike with his right hand and using his reach to make her stop, as she jumped out of the way her eyes were alive with pleasure. She thrust to hit him, he blocked her and brought his Bokken behind his back and over his head by his right ear quickly. Henri gave a chi and stopped as she looked at the last third of his Bokken ready to make contact with her left shoulder and neck. Henri knew she had just underestimated him but it felt good to catch her off guard, he knew that would never happen again but then again it only needed to happen once. He said to a very angry Zilvra, "Just because you have like 100 years more experience than I do doesn't mean you can go easy on me." Her eyes flashed red as she said, "You were using our link to read me! Your first strike nearly hit me, if you have very little practice with a sword as you claim then how did you know I was going to attack and that fucking reach is murder to deal with. Did you lie to me to catch me off guard?" Henri hung his head and said playfully, "Excuses all ready, I read you just like I did when we spared. I knew you were going to attack because your hand tightened around the Bokken and you were light on your feet meaning you wanted to explode so as soon as I saw your right foot dig in, I knew I had to strike or you were going to break my ribs. If I was going to deceive you I would have let you hit me so you were convinced I was that bad. By the way can you hear anybody now? And could you while we were sparring?" She stopped and nodded that she couldn't but as soon as she stopped they started filtering in. They spared again and she thoroughly routed him as he expected, she didn't go easy on him but he got a few licks in as well. She was frighteningly fast, he was just able to block her attacks and use his reach and knowledge of other martial arts to keep her from getting a good blow and even land another stop by staying inside her reach and turning the Bokken so it followed the curve of my arm and stayed hidden from sight. As we finished she told him that following his sword was hard because he was fast and kept hiding it from sight as well as his attempts to dictate her offense by not watching her blade but her body. She also said it was hard to fight and read people at the same time and she felt she could do one but not the other. He explained that Musashi, a famous swordsman from his world, wrote that in a fight if you can hide your blade you can eliminate your opponents' reaction time and by using the curve of the blade along your arm you can get inside and slice through the gaps in armor and weaken them. She said that his two handed style caused problems because of the added power but the flexibility of being able to strike one handed and not lose too much was a big plus. In the days before his first match he noticed everybody looked at him and even at Zilvra. When Belar was with them they studied her as well. They were acting so strange towards him, he wasn't beaten in fact he hadn't seen anything of Mica but Shynta came and asked about him which freaked him out. Finally the day of his first fight had arrived, he was dressed in the houses colors that were red and black with some strange web pattern. Heading to the pit he was told that if he didn't cause any problems he wouldn't be harmed, but if he did anything to shame house Hla'ath he would. As the left the house Henri saw the banners for House Hla'ath as well as four smaller banners that had the Hla'ath symbol and a smaller one below it. Once they entered the city proper musicians and dancers joined in a make shift parade as they walked through the streets many people looked at Henri and would whisper to themselves. Henri entered and saw thousands of Drow leering and whispering, he guessed they had the same dream as Mica and Shynta. Henri hated everything about this, being forced to fight so that he could entertain these psychopaths and was certain of one thing he was going to do everything he could to shame house Hla'ath. Henri watched in shock as a huge pig faced thing walked in to the cheers of these bastards, as if expecting him to die quickly. The eldest of the top house in of Intra'minynda Iimynrae Hun'ghym and daughter of the current Intra explained that this was a fight to the death. No weapons were allowed any outside interference would be seen as an attack on all Drow. In a magnanimous gesture she wished them both good luck and a glorious death. The orc was about the same height maybe 2 inches taller than Henri and looked like he had about 50lbs on him, he was ripped and ready to fight as Henri approached the orc charged at him; he stepped out of the way and got into a defensive stance ready for the next charge. The orc charged again, but this time he grabbed the orcs arm and threw him to the ground Judo style, hurrying to his foe he got on top of the orc, hooked Henri's right arm under in a choke hold applying pressure to the orc's neck with his left hand, he was rewarded with the sickening crack as the orc's neck broke. Henri rose to his feet made the sign of the cross over the dead green skinned pig faced human looking thing. Waited for the Drow to come and get him, he wanted his pound of flesh for being forced to kill whatever that was, not to mention all the abuse he had suffered at the hands of his captors. When they entered he charged and caught one male in the jaw knocking him out cold, Henri saw a woman swing the flat her sword he dipped inside her reach and punched her dead in the throat as she fell to the ground gasping for air. Henri caught another male and snapped his neck with ease much easier than it was for that pig faced thing, he was focused on the females more than the males, because of the abuse he had suffered through, he caught another female in the side of the knee and when she dropped to the ground he stomped on her head till she stopped moving. That was when he felt the sting off bolts and started to get very sleepy as he dropped to the ground, followed by a plethora of boots. When he came to he was tied up and he could smell them they were waiting for him to awaken. Henri heard, "How dare he lay hands on us, we should kill him for this, if only Lloth would let us." He smiled knowing he had embarrassed house Hla'ath and that they could do nothing about it. He heard from farther back the voice sounded like Belar's saying, "What did you expect? You beat and raped him, and what did you think would happen? He would be happy for such things?" A very pissed off Shynta screamed in reply, she felt she was winning him over, "He needs to learn we are his mistresses and to show respect to his betters and if I remember correctly you helped us." Henri replied his voice filled with venom, "The only thing you are better than me in is being bitches and it is too bad you weren't there or I could have enjoyed watching you die like I enjoyed watch that one bitch suffocate. If you want let me out of these shackles and we will find out how many of you leave here alive." His eyes sparkled with demonic joy as the thought of killing them. Needless to say he got beaten and raped yet again, this only added to his desire for revenge. The matron had rescinded her earlier agreement about them not beating him and said that, because he embarrassed their house he would be disciplined. However, she let him move into the surface room as it was called by the other families that supported this house, but had it updated with shackles so he could be restrained. Henri asked Belar if all the people he saw were her family and she explained that a house is one family that has as few as three other families that it protects and in return those families help support the house. It struck him as something from the middle ages where lords would protect a village and the village would support the lord. After a few days Shynta came to see Henri, her longings raging and her concern over the near future which had become very cloudy. She wanted one thing to be his protector and figured that the rod hadn't worked so she would try something she had come to enjoy and that was him. Shynta loved him, not that she knew of that emotion but more a stronger form of like whether she was taking or giving. He fought brilliantly if she was giving and the last time she took him it was much better than any other time she had lain with a male even the sire of her children. This time however she had no darts and he wouldn't be chained, she was going to give herself to him like Belar had. She entered his room dressed in her usual robes and watched him as he stood ready to fight. She showed her hands had no weapons. He studied her looking for a hidden blade, wondering what game she was playing and asked, "What do you want? I see no weapons, no whips but that does not mean you are unarmed." Shynta knew Belar was a master at this game and trying to imitate her sister she said, "I want what you can give to me. I come not to fight, I am not your enemy, and if I were would I come here like this?" She opened her robe and showed her naked self, her excitement was visible and growing as Henri looked her over. Like all of her kind she was a striking woman and deep down her hunger grew at the thought of him having her. From his stares she felt confident that he wanted her and wondered how he would take her. Her heart sank as she saw his expression change from enjoying her beauty to disgust at what she had done. Her mind raced as she wondered where she went wrong, her pride took a blow that would have fell a mountain at the thought that he did not desire her. Her ego wanted to strike him as he bent to pick up her robe, she was so angry she could taste it how could she not be as desirable as her sister. As Henri handed her robe back he said coldly, "You came here to what, score points against Belar? What we did was something you will never understand, because you will never be in her league. Now go before I do something I will regret." Her heart leaped at the thought of just what he might regret and her loins at the most unfathomable of thoughts submitting to a male and a human so less. She would not leave without him seeing her as one of his protectors and threw caution to the wind. Her emotions raw at the thought of being bested by Belar as she threw her robe to the ground and shouted, "Then do what you will regret, I will not leave until you will have me." Henri's eyes nearly jumped out of his as he heard what she said, it was a Freudian slip but it spoke volumes. He had to be sure that, he was correct and knew he would not fight back if wrong. He stepped into her face looked down on her grabbed her by her hair and pulled her head back saying in a tone filled with malice, "I will have you how I want and you will not stop me." He kissed her and forced his tongue down her throat meeting no resistance, instead he was met by her embrace. Her body quaked as he took what he wanted, her desire went through the roof as he took her that was what he wanted her. For all the power she had sought in her long life, she had something she truly desired to lose control. She knew then that she had not beaten him but he had conquered her and she loved every second of it, no other male pushed her, no other stood up to her, no other had denied her, none had bested her until this moment and she would never look back. What he wanted was his and she wanted to be his. He pulled her hair harder as he broke the kiss and taunted ready for her to strike at him, "You were going to make me your pet! Tell me who the pet in this relationship is?" She looked into his cold eyes and small part of her cried out that she was not his pet, but a new voice looked in the eyes of her master and new the undeniable truth. The thought alone had her ready to cum as she said not lacking any confidence, "I am." Henri was lost, she had caved that much was clear, but what to do he had no experience in such play. A part of him wanted to give her just what she had given him and beat the tar out of her. The thought alone scared him, he knew he could do serious damage if he let go and with his emotions in such turmoil he didn't know if he would be able to stop. He like the power but not how it made him feel as he took action. His 6'4" frame towered over her barely 5'2" self as his cold eyes were matched by a cold voice as he ordered, "On your knees, my pet has no right to stand before me. Service your master and prove yourself to me." Her body stiffened at the thought of kneeling before him like she had made her two younger sisters Umreastin'arra and Talabriina do after breaking them. It wasn't because she didn't desire him, her juices flowing down her legs were proof of that. Her pride knew it was all over if she did, she would be his and this battle raged before Henri's very eyes. A part of Henri wanted her not to, but a bigger part worried what would happen if he stopped now, he had the chance to end his abuse. He grabbed her by the hair and dragged her like a caveman to the bed and threw her over his knee. This was child's play to a Drow as he put his 240lbs into each swing, he could feel her bone with each blow. His room was free of anything that could be used as a weapon besides a chair and a table, his shackles were part of the bed and he would have to break it to use them, or did he? Shynta moaned her appreciation of his attempts and her body responded to his efforts as she had a small orgasm that all but sealed her fate. Henri rolled her over onto the bed and put his knees on her shoulders with his cock in her face, he watched as her mouth opened and took what she could. He let her please him while he grabbed the shackles, she offered no resistance as he closed the shackle hold her left arm. He pulled his cock from her mouth with a pop as she groaned her disappointment, she looked at her right arm as the shackle closed around it. He leaned down, pointed to his room and said, "If the other found out they would kill you for this. In here you are Shynta my pet out there you are Shyntaunlin eldest of house Hla'ath. In here you are free to be what you are. Now, I will be taking what is mine just like you took me." Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 04 Shynta was in tears as she opened her leg to her master even her pride agreed she was his, he had accepted her and she was for the first time happy to lay with a male. She shook her head no this was the first time she slept with a man, her man, her master. She cried out her pleasure as he filled her like no other, his thrust were passionate not ruthless this made her melt more as her master showed her power not abuse. She came to him to get fucked and wound up loved, she did not care if he loved her, because she loved what he did to her and what he didn't do to her. She tried to scream but her masters' tongue was busy taking her mouth as she quaked through another orgasm, quickly followed by another and another. Henri enjoyed her body not knowing of the revolution that had been waged and still was being waged. He would never know how much she loved losing herself in surrendering to him. Her pleasure was enough for him as he watched her red eyes turn pink a sign she liked what he was doing. His orgasm crept up on him as he pulled his mouth from hers and kissed down her jaw and along her ears. He said in a still domineering tone, "Now you are all mine, you will wear my mark and only we will know so." He erupted inside her shortly afterwards. She looked at her master, as she came down from the heights he had taken her and wondered what his mark would be. Henri made her sit at the table before him and took her shoulder length hair and braided it like he had for his daughter and sister. Once done he told this was his mark. After a month, he was to fight another orc who this time had a sword in his hand, he thought back to his training and knowledge of martial arts for the fight. The orc knew better then to charge this human so he closed slowly and swung low to keep Henri from him. Henri could clearly see this orc knew how to use his weapon, wasn't going to let Henri get close. Henri knew that he had to bait him into attacking so when he next attacked Henri would faked as if he had hurt himself. The orc seeing his victim hurt rushed in and swung the sword over his head going for a powerful swing. That was the moment Henri struck like a snake that had just uncoiled, striking him in the throat with his fist and pulled the legs out from under the stronger orc. Being that close Henri got the orc in a reverse choke hold and dropped him as the orc lay unconscious Henri grabbed his neck and broke it unceremoniously. The crowd went nuts the Drow watching chanted "human, human, human." Waiting for the second match between Henri and the guards, this was what many were betting on how many of them would die at his hands. A choirs of boos came from the stands as a lone Drowess came out dressed in the same colors as Henri wore and lead him out of the pit without a single blow being landed. Zilvra shook her head as she lead him back to the cart and back home, she saw Belar waiting at the cart with Shynta or should she say Shyntaunlin as she like to be called of late. Zilvra wanted so badly to know what was going on with her sister, but every time she dropped her wall all the voices came rushing in so she left it up. She wasn't the only one who wanted to know what was going on, Belar was dying to know what had happened to her sister. It wasn't just her name or that stupid braid that she let hang over her right shoulder, but she seemed kinder than before. Over the past month her sister had grown and proved that a slice of kindness could get her more than the whip she had used before. The whip was still there the difference was that now Shynta needed a reason to whip or beat anybody, before one wrong look would have her ready to discipline. Shynta watched as her master strolled to the cart victorious, she chided herself for doubting her master. As he got closer she felt the heat rising in her body after every fight he would ravage her and she loved every second of it. She was truly happy with their relationship, she was still in power but understood that he was in control and if he ordered her in their safe room she wouldn't think twice. The ride back was uneventful for Henri and Shynta but Zilvra and Belar were still trying to figure out their sister and they weren't the only ones Mica was also keeping tabs in the new Shynta. She knew something was different and from all the time she spent around Henri that she figured Shynta was trying to secure a place with him and see what power she could acquire from him if any. The fact that she now went by her full name and that silly braid made her seem almost childish, Mica wondered if that was an attempt to get Henri to lower his guard. She would continue to watch but still felt that her time was coming and quickly, her house was protecting a chosen of Lloth even if he was a male and human she didn't question Lloth's will it was not her place. Henri was still pumped from the fight and wanted something to fight or fuck, he knew Shynta would gladly help him with the later. He even wondered about Belar who for the past few weeks had learned that she was having a girl and even found that her own magic was growing with her little booster. He watched as her body began the changes for motherhood, she didn't have the energy she once had. He nearly jumped out of his skin when she hugged him, she played it off by saying she was caught up in the moment and said she had guessed the correct time of his victory. The cart stopped and the four of them got off he gave Shynta's hand a squeeze this was a sign that he wanted to use her. She followed them into his room, Zilvra and Belar looked at her as she paid them no mind, her master wanted her and that was all that mattered. Zilvra turned to her sister and said, "What do want Shynta?" Shynta didn't answer her so Zilvra repeated this time calling her Shyntaunlin, but this got no response from Shynta. She was there for her master and had nothing to tell them, but this only exacerbated the situation. Belar tried to get something out of Shynta and said, "If you have nothing to say then you can leave or shall we throw you out." Again she said nothing, but from the pleased look on her masters face she was doing the right thing. Zilvra smiled and went to throw her out, with a smile on her face wishing she would try and resist. As Zilvra was about to grab her Henri said, "Shynta what are you?" His smirk made her wetter, her eyes shot to her sisters then to him and back to them, she still said nothing. Henri was loving her turmoil, he understood that she wanted to obey but feared them finding out. Henri said in a very serious tone, "You will answer me or you shall leave and never return." Zilvra and Belar both looked at Henri as he said that, what shook them more was how torn their sister was by him saying this. He reached for her braid as she said pleading, "I am your pet, master. Please don't take you mark from me." She hung her head knowing her sisters would kill her for this sooner or later, but the thought of not serving him was worse than what they would do. Zilvra and Belar both looked to Henri who looked at him in shock, unperturbed he said to Shynta, "You have done well now service your master while I talk with my protectors." Shynta ignored her sisters and knelt before her master with her sisters present and began performing on her master. Zilvra and Belar looked on speechless, Belar knew her sister was doing a good job and that she liked what she was doing. Henri turned and said, "Shynta, is a submissive because of all the power she has here nobody pushed her and after the dream she feared what happen with me. A little over a month ago she came to me thinking she would do what you did Belar. I didn't want that and made her submit to me, that braid is my mark as long as she wears it she is mine and she knows it. Now, she is harmless and we can work around her as you can see she has found something she likes." Belar was in stitches at his comment and Zilvra managed a smile at his joke. None of this mattered to Shynta, she had what she wanted and even felt relief that her sisters knew about her and Henri. Her Drow instincts may have warred with her submissive side, but they lost and sealed her fate as she listened to Henri, Belar and Zilvra talk about going to the surface she understood that wherever Henri went she would follow. Her only concern was Mica, her greatest threat was firmly in Henri's camp and she knew why. The following day it had become apparent that Henri was a crowd favorite and for lack of a better word his matron found him to be a great addition to her house. His winnings were making her even richer. The down side was that after each fight he had to be drugged or he went after the guards who came to get him, only Belar and Zilvra could approach without conflict. This was followed by his after match attack, with Shynta on his side the rape that followed stopped altogether. The only ones who never took part in the mass beatings were Belar and Zilvra, they kept Zilvra away from him when they did this, fearing what she could do. The following week his matron visited him in the surface room or light room, it was uncomfortable for every Drow in that room but bearable. She looked at her cash cow with contempt and said, "I am Akordia of house Hla'ath your matron and matron of this house." She paused and then continued, "Tomorrow you will fight armed, and you may choose any weapon but your special weapons." Henri asked wondering if they would let him use his powerful magical sword, "Can I use my sword the one I had with me?" She replied nothing in the rules state that you can't use a magic sword, "Of course it is your choice are, you good with that sword?" He answered thinking of how he saved Zilvra, "With the exception of saving Zilvra, I have never used a sword in combat so I wouldn't know." She said flatly, "Then you had better hope that you learn fast or your life will end tomorrow. By the way I don't like to lose." The next day Henri entered the pit and saw a huge Orc holding a huge sword that he would have needed two hands to wield. The only one who could stand to be near his sword was Zilvra so she carried it out to him. As he unsheathed it Zilvra felt the magic disappear, she didn't like that and wondered if anybody else had seen that. The monstrous Orc towered over him and looked to be at least 7' tall and about as wide. This Orc moved in slowly he knew better than to charge Henri. As they circled, the Orc swung his huge sword at him a few times missing badly, Henri had speed on his side, but with a sword in his hands, he was lost as to how to fight this monster. He stayed out of reach as he ran through the moves he knew, when it dawned on him that he could use the sudden strike, if it didn't work then at least he would be inside the reach of this huge Orc. He set his feet shoulder lengths apart with his front foot is facing the Orc, he hold the sheath in his left hand and held it behind him, Henri placed his right hand on the sword in a forehand grip. Zilvra had seen him use this on her but knew this wouldn't work on the Orog its sword was to long. As the Orc moves in, Henri charged, his sword still sheathed. Zilvra was lost on what he was doing she knew he had waited for her to move when he used that before, she looked across the pit and sees her matron worried seeing he hasn't drawn yet. Henri close in on the Orc before it can get his huge sword around, once inside the huge orc's reach he unsheathed the Katana and cut from the right hip to the Orc's left armpit in a flash. Henri changed his grip and swung again at the huge Orc's neck severing it. As his head falls, the fans see him disemboweled and when his knees hit the ground, his head rolls off. Zilvra entered the pit as the pit guards readied their crossbows fairly certain he wouldn't harm her. Zilvra had told them that he wouldn't kill her or so she believed, with a flick the blood flew off the Katana, he sheathed it afterwards. As he walked towards Zilvra, handed the Katana to her who looked at him angry but proud. Angry because he had held out such a move and proud that he had won. His matron smiled at him having bet a huge some of money that he would kill the Orog. As Henri walked past his matron he saw the other guards relax because trying to carry a man his size was extremely tiring. As Henri slept, he had the strangest of dreams, he saw his home. He looked and saw what he thought must be a Russian village because of the onion domes visible off in the distance. Henri stood on the mountain, he saw great armies clashing in the valley below not far from the village. Henri watched in horror as he saw all manner of beasts fighting each other; he only knew them from myths as he watched humans fighting for their very survival. He looked to his left and he saw a woman wearing silver armor like was worn in the medieval times in her hand was a mace of silver. To his right stood another woman wearing samurai armor, next to her stood a tall Nordic looking woman with blond hair and wearing metal armor with wings on the back looking at the battle with glee. Looking back to his left he saw another women wearing robes and looking very unhappy as she watched the carnage. The biggest shock was that he saw two Drowesses running into the fray, he did a double take as he saw Zilvra and Dirzune. Sitting at my feet watching with concern was a green haired elf like the Drow but instead of midnight black skin she had dark brown skin that was the color of tree bark. He looked at his arms and saw blue symbols going up and down his arms and on his shirt. For some reason he understood they had come from his chest they were all glowing a deep blue. When Henri awoke from his slumber, he looked at his chest and saw strange blue symbol there. He felt as if a live wire was running through him everything seemed different kind of like how it feels before a powerful thunder storm. As he looked down he saw the symbol on his chest glow a deep blue and then slowly fade and disappear completely under his skin leaving only the original symbol. *********** Dirzune had finished her research and sent Rikton back to the tower after having uncovered a game changer. She had uncovered a prophecy that Lloth would be killed at the next renewal by her own child Eilistraee who would lead all Drow back to the surface for good. This information had her conflicted, because she had been chosen by Lloth to be one of Henri's protectors. What was the goddesses reasoning for this? She had to know that she would look into this, did she want her to prevent this from happening was that why she was chosen to be the dagger in the dark. What did that mean for her house? She was certain of one thing that Henri would not want to stay underground where the goddess held so much sway and power, she also knew that his behavior was proof that Lloth's ways would not work on him. She had to know more and the only way to get that was to ask Henri himself. In walked his matron and Dirzune they met in the courtyard after he finished his practice. Dirzune thinking about his last performance in the pit asked, "Henri, where did you learn to fight like that I was told that you had never fought with a sword before, is that true?" Henri replied not wanting to let on that he knew who she was, "Yes it is priestess, I had done some training back in Japan, but that was all practice." She walked with him away from prying ears asking, "Do you know why I am here?" Henri wanted to say because he had seen her in his dream but in truth he had no clue. She said, "To see if you could forgive me for my past mistakes." She explained calmly but Henri didn't buy it, she was up to something but what. He tried the stick approach and said, "Listen, I don't know what kind of power trip you are on, but if you get me out of here and to the surface I will forgive any damn thing you want." Honestly Henri had had enough of all the paranoid bullshit from these people. As she began chanting he started to feel a burning in his chest, whatever it was he was almost certain that the symbol was warning him about something. As the priestess finished she looked at him and began to speak, "When the time comes will you do what is right?" She asked as she looked over his head, he could see her uncertainty and that bothered him. He looked her over hopping she would give him a clue to the answer, but found none and said, "Ok, all the time that we have had these little chats you have played games with me, now I can see fear in your eyes. Honestly what is right and wrong when it comes to your people?" He just couldn't hold it in any more, he knew he was a dead man and that someday he will lose in the pit. He was still lost on why she was in his dream. The priestess saw a green light he was telling the truth. "What would it take for you to take some of us with you?" she asked. He knew now that she was fishing for something but was still lost as to what and answered, "Why would I take any of you with me to the surface. I mean can you people even see up there? Besides what would keep me from killing you once I got to the surface. I am not a very forgiving man." Again, she saw a green light. This worried her, what would happen if he refused her? "Do you have any loyalty to anybody down here?" she asked quizzically. 'What the fuck' Henri thought, he was wondering where she was going with this line of questioning. The only thing that ran through his mind was these people are off their rockers. He could see no trap in her question and said honestly, "How can I have loyalty to the people who have beat and raped me and would kill me if I didn't do what they want me to do. Let alone for people who are always trying to hurt, kill, trick and enslave each other. I would rather roam in the darkness and sleep knowing that I am free then sleep with an eye open around those I should be loyal. Loyalty is a two way street." What she saw shocked her; the light was yellow it was true but not all of it. With that answer, the priestess left contented with his answers, but wondering what wasn't true in his last statement. As was her duty as a priestess, she talked with the matron about the fact that keeping Henri alive was very dangerous, as they plotted to have him fight more than one person next time and adding one more person to his fights. While Henri was a Drow favorite he was quickly becoming a slave favorite for his attacks on the guards and this was unacceptable. *********** In the Intress's palace was a very special room that reeked of abyssal energy inside was the puppet that had been the Empress, she loved the term as soon as she heard it from Alak and Lloth enjoyed the term as well. In the room with her was the sire of her half-demon daughter and sign of her dark power, her half-demon child she had named Dementia, and a Mind Flayer. The Mind Flayer was tormenting the Drowess strapped to the table as the sire of her child was raping and destroying this woman physically, sex with a demon was exquisite torture. Dementia was busy pleasuring herself watching her father fuck the Drowess with his barbed cock, the abyssal energy peaked as the Intress finished casting her dark spell as she plunged her hand in the chest of the Drowess she nodded to her child's sire and he came at that moment as she pulled the Drowess's soul from her body and pulled a third of it off and fed it to Dementia and the other third to Dementia's sire. A silver thread could be seen going to the soul tying it to the abyss. The room seemed to hum from the demonic prayer being offered as she fused the abyssal energy into the remaining soul and placed it back in the Drowess. The Drowess's body convulsed repeatedly as the abyssal energy flowed and turned her into something much darker. Her eyes opened and did not glow red but seemed empty in the dark room, in fact her eyes were now completely black, she looked around the room and saw the face of her creator, her mother. Intra said, "Welcome child to your new darkness, the goddess has blessed you, you shall now be called Dark Sister, do you understand?" Dark Sister said robotically, "Yes, mistress." Intra smiled at the loyalty that this process produced, pointed to the Mind Flayer and said, "Go with your handler and wait further orders." Dark Sister in a voice devoid of all emotion said, "Yes, mistress." The Mind Flayer turned to Intra and said, "Mistress, the Yathrin is waiting in your chambers." Intra smiled fiendishly, turned to Dementia and in a very loving motherly tone said, "Child mother has a treat for you." Dementia had changed much during her two week of feedings with her mother. The feedings had awoken her demon blood and turned the half-demon into something closer to a succubus as her body had grown and become the thing of dreams for both men and women. Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 05 Her powers for now were limited to seduction or the ability to cloud the mind of her target so that she may feed from their willingness to have intercourse with her in her true form. She had also developed shape change in which she could read the mind of her pray and look like whatever they wanted in a woman or add the correct equipment for a woman again so she could feed. Her newest power and one that was still growing was enthrall where she could take a piece of her prey and use it to influence them, she could do this to protect herself from others. Intra lead her improved daughter to her chambers, Dementia had never been in her chambers where her mother met other Drow. She had always met her mother in either her room which only a few knew of or her mother's private chambers. She followed behind her mother knowing that this was not her mother she could see the mist that surrounded her mother. She didn't care for two reasons one because her mother was kind when that mist was around her. Two she was much younger than a normal Drowess being very much a child in mind even if she was a woman in body, the more she fed the more that child was crushed and replaced. With all the power she had gained, Dementia had come to think of that mist as her true mother. Intra turned to her child and said, "Today you will become complete, now change into something better, you can't meet your prey looking like that." Dementia was lost in the power that had been growing in her and said, "Yes, mother." She read her mother and saw the image of her sister who hopped to be the next Intra or queen. Her body began to change and warp to looking like her sister. Seeing the change her mother smiled and said, "Good, your prey is the Yathrin I want you to enthrall her, by taking a part of her very powerful soul your powers will unlock further as will using your powers. Only take half her soul my child, I may need her still." Dementia smiled at the thought of feeding on a soul that had not been weakened by the ritual or shared with her father that she became aroused. This was like Christmas Eve to her, she was so excited that she could only nod in agreement. Intra cast a summons spell and a male Drow entered and bowed deeply following behind him was the high priestess or Yathrin the title she would be called upon becoming high priestess she gave up all other titles and houses, just as Intra which was her title she had long forgotten her true name, because before she was Intra she was the Yathrin and in the past four hundred years she had no need of any other names. This Yathrin was young having only been the Yathrin for the past one hundred years, her hair still white with no signs of blond in her hair yet, she was very ordinary for a Drow average height and build nothing that stood out except for her love of Lloth. As Dementia read her preys mind she saw her devotion and knew her way to get this powerful woman to be hers. She turned to her mother and whispered, "She loves the goddess if I can make her believe that I am Lloth, she will be mine." Her mother smiled at the irony because Lloth was present in her doll Intra, so making Yathrin believe would be easy. Intra said, "Yathrin, I see great things for my people and in my communion with the goddess, I have been told that you should turn Shrilara over to me. Strip all power from Dirzune she is to be Lloth's champion and one of the three spiders from the vision." Dementia left the room and transformed into Lloth, she snuck around to get into her mother view and signed that she was ready. At the same time Yathrin was saying, "I do not know what you are talking about. Who or what is Shrilara? Replacing Dirzune is not a problem, but who would you want to take over?" Intra said her voice full of insinuation, "Are you doubting the goddess? Has your faith in her or my visions failed you? I want Micarylafay Hal'ath to replace her and Lloth agrees." Yathrin was uncomfortable with how she was being questioned and said, "I have passed all test about my faith and I have no doubts about your visions. I cannot give you what doesn't exist. Why do you doubt my love for the goddess?" Intra's expression changed as she stood on her dais, face filled with false anger and said, "It is not I who doubts you but her!" Yathrin turned and saw Intra pointing to Dementia disguised as Lloth who entered unheard. Yathrin threw herself at Dementia's feet and said, "Forgive me goddess I didn't mean to mislead you. As you wish I shall turn Shrilara over to Intra." Yathrin knew that Lloth was not the forgiving type, but she did like power plays and Shrilara were Yathrin's best kept power. With Yathrin prostrate within Dementia's circle of influence she had sealed her own fate. As Dementia kneeled down she started to use her power of seduction and touched the head of Yathrin saying, "If you hadn't lied to me child you would be dead now. You have done nothing to displease me." Yathrin looked up and into the demonic eyes of Dementia and felt the full power of her seduction all she could see was pleasing her goddess before her. Dementia saw Yathrin's eyes glaze over and knew she had her at her mercy, she wanted so badly to sink her growing fangs into her neck and drink from her soul leaving her a puppet like her mother had become. She said trying to sound like Lloth, "Child I will bestow a great blessing upon you." She put her arms around her and sunk her fangs into the exposed neck of Yathrin and changed into her true form feeding on Yathrin until half of the high priestesses soul was gone. As she finished she placed enthrall on Yathrin who rose with soulless eyes for a moment they returned to normal as she looked upon her rapidly changing love. Dementia's skin started to change turning red with what look like black tribal tattoos all over her body. She fell to her knees as her tail grew out and needles growing out from her tail making it look like a phallic shaped morning star. She shrieked as her leathery wings burst forth from her back. Her eyes bust into black flames and her horns grew and curled like a rams. She stood and looked at her mother as her claws finally came into view, she could clearly see that she had two very proud mothers; Intra and Lloth. With Yathrin under her spell and Shrilara under Intra's control all that remained was to send the guardian to the surface, house Hla'ath had failed to win him over and would be punished for it. Lloth didn't like letting him go, but from watching him fight and then fight with the Drow guards, she knew he would never follow her. This didn't change anything for her, she had prepared for him going to the surface and knew that the next few weeks would send him on his way, she needed grab greater control. Intra would turn Shrilara into Dark Sister and send them after Eilistraee's children on the surface. The only thing left to do was make it so that Henri, Zilvra, Belar and Dirzune had no reason to stay or if they did then she would turn those three into Dark Sister and drag him to the gate by force. *********** As Dirzune headed back to the cloister a meeting was going on at the temple where Micarylafay was meeting with the high priestess or Yathrin. As she entered a sub-chamber she saw Yathrin lost in prayer at a small shrine to Lloth, it was well know that the new Yathrin was an unbelievably pious Drow but this went beyond anything she had ever seen. Dirzune was the closest she had seen to piety among the priestesses in the cloister. Seeing such a show of devotion made her nervous as to why she was here, especially in light of her house having Henri there. She interupted Yathrin saying, "It is I Micarylafay of house Hla'ath you sent for me." Yathrin turned and smiled at Mica who didn't like that one bit. Anyone as powerful as Yathrin had to be up to no good and meeting in a private shrine under the temple seemed more of a set up than anything. Yathrin saw her mistress and love Dementia lurking in the shadows waiting for her chance to enjoy Mica like she had Yathrin. Yathrin knew the Drowess before her was nervous and that was her intent as she said, "Intra has told me of her plans for you." She stopped to torment Mica, she could almost taste the fear rolling off her priestess. Mica was flabbergasted that Intra knew of her, the only thing worse was that she had plans for her. Mica's mind raced with what was going to happen to her, was she going to the alter because her house had failed to win the human over, maybe they would turn her into a Drider as an example to her house. She wanted to speak in her defense but she was paralyzed with fear over her fate. Yathrin wanted to turn the screws even tighter but her mistress was waiting for Micarylafay and said, "You are to be tested to see if you are worthy of replacing Dirzune as head inquisitor." Mica nearly passed out with the news, she had gone from being a Drider to a head priestess, she had never been tested and asked, "What is this test? And what will become of me if I fail." Yathrin knew all she had to do was give her the appointment but her mistress was hungry and so this ruse as she said, "You will stand before Lloth and be embraced if you do not die then you will be the new inquisitor, are you ready?" Mica was terrified her goddess wasn't known for kindness but rejection wasn't an option and said, "I am ready must I do anything?" Yathrin could see her mistress transform into Lloth, she knew her mistress would pleasure her and be pleasured by her for this. She said, "Just be embraced and survive of course. I shall begin." Yathrin began using a demonic tongue for a fake summoning, knowing that Mica knew both divine and archaic magics. As she was faking her summons, Dementia walked out of the shadows standing behind Mica. Upon finishing her fake summoning she fell to her knees and said, "Mistress I have brought the candidate for you to test. She is ready to receive your embrace." Mica heard a noise and spun to see Lloth standing before her in all her glory. She fell to her knees scared at what the next few moments would bring and said, "Mistress, I am ready for your test." Dementia moved so that Mica was within her area of influence and said, "Stand and be judged." Mica stood feeling aroused looking upon Dementia disguised as her goddess, as Lloth wrapped her arms around Mica. She felt the sting as Dementia sunk her fangs into Mica's neck and began draining her soul. Mica's body began to convulse as the immense pleasure rushed through her body, crushing any resistance Mica might put up. Dementia released Mica who feel to the ground moaning her pleasure as she orgasmed for 30 minutes, when the orgasms subsided she stood eyes glazed over looking upon her new mistress with a lust full look upon her face. Dementia and Yathrin led Mica to a chamber attached to the room, which had been converted to a boudoir where Mica would be briefed on her mission as well as pleasure her new mistress. By the time Dirzune arrived back at the cloister the news had already reached that she was no longer the the head inquisitor, this new hit Dirzune hard as she grabbed her things and headed for her house. By the time she arrived at her home she saw her servants looking at her lost. Upon setting foot out of her carriage, she was promptly called to the chambers of the new matron of her house, wondering as she was being called. To her surprise she saw Micarylafay in her chambers holding a note in her hand that made her feel very uncomfortable. Mica handed her a note from Intra that Micarylafay was now head of her house. That evening Mica called together a few of the other houses and told them that if the human won his next fight they were to attack her own house with her full support and to bring the human to the temple where he would be held and experimented on. This was only part of the plan, Intra had other plans involving Henri, Zilvra and her sisters. Dirzune knew this meant that Intra knew she was one of Henri's protectors, and she asked to finish training Ethevrar'yl and to get Tazyrr to choose his path. The new matron agreed and they left with her as she went to the tower and her children's sire Rikton, their path was clear and it was now tied to Henri. Her only question was would he accept her. Dirzune and Rikton discussed what had happened in the past few weeks she had lost Shrilara, her house and title, they agreed that they would take Ethev and Taz with them, Rikton knew she had to go with Henri and he knew he could finally be with the one he loved and was secretly happy about this. Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 06 I would like to thank my new editor Anubismark for his hard work on 2.6. From the feedback I will be adding 2.7 and maybe 2.8 in the coming weeks. ***** Disposable Hero 2.6 The Gathering Escape The following week Henri fought two armed Orcs, he was allowed his Katana. The two Orcs fought with bastard swords that to Henri looked like something he had seen on a trip to France when he was a boy. Due to Henri's fame both Orcs wanted to be the one to kill him and didn't fight together, even fighting with each other at times. It was one of those fights that allowed Henri to win as their swords clashed Henri snuck behind the bigger of the two and thrust his sword through the back of the one. Being a curved blade it exited the front and by sheer happenstance pierced the other Orc's heart. The move made it look like he had won the fight easily, which thrilled his growing throngs of fans. Ever since his first fight Henri couldn't feel the power of the Katana flowing into his body any more and wondered what exactly that was. As he handed the Katana to Zilvra, he and even asked if she could feel any magic flowing from the sword to which she just nodded in the negative and added that she hadn't felt any since she had unsheathed his sword that one time. Walking back to the cart that was going to take him back, when he noticed two women watching them, this was nothing new in the weeks following his first victory. However, something didn't feel right about the two Drowesses watching them from a distance and that made him nervous, they gave him a bad case of the heebie-jeebies this was compounded when they disappeared into the shadows quickly. They gave him a feeling like somebody was walking over his grave and this new feeling had him in a tizzy. Henri leaned over to Zilvra and said his voice stressing the importance of what he was saying, "Something is wrong and I mean very wrong, I feel like we are walking into a trap." She shook her head and said mirthfully, "Finally you're becoming a Drow, and seeing ambushes everywhere." He reiterated wanting to her to understand that something wasn't normal, "I'm telling you something is wrong, very wrong." They decided to walk back at least part of the way so they could talk this was nothing new for either if them. Zilvra seemed to play everything close to the vest well closer to the vest than your regular Drow. Henri wondered what would have happened if she hadn't met him and asked, "Zilvra what would have happened if you had never met me?" Smirking at the pain of owing her life to any one let alone a male and to make matters worse him said, "I was on my way to the surface for training in scouting that is what I will be once I am done with all my training. I would then be able to leave here and scout for caravans keeping them out of danger. I would have finally been free of all of this crap. We waste so much energy fighting against ourselves and making dangerous enemies when reason would say that we make a friend or two, my sisters are just as stupid for following this madness. One day our enemies will come to our homes and get revenge and the slaves we have treated so badly will have their revenge, I plan on not being here when that happens." Part of him felt bad she was finally going to leave and he stopped that. He said knowing it was wrong to show such weakness, "I am truly sorry for ruining your plan on going to the surface, hell I'll teach you a few things about the plants and animals up there, if I ever get out of here that is." Zilvra hated her family, from her mother who wanted her to play the boring political games in the court, to her sisters nonstop abuse, she had no love for the goddess and after failing to show any skill with magic she saw no need to worship her, especially considering that her own sisters had abused her like they had done to Henri before they had that dream about him being protected. They walked back to the compound stopping here and there for the common Drow who wanted to offer the heartless human a drink or food. Henri was becoming their hero, those he had attacked in the pit the first time were from established houses and loathed by the common Drow. Walking through the gate with full bellies Zilvra led Henri back to his room and saw Shynta waiting for him, sighing in disgust that he would do anything with her crazy sister, put his sword back in the storage room which was where the rest of his things had been moved to. Watching Henri's ass was tiring, after a bath Zilvra fell quickly asleep and once a sleep she began to dream. She saw a Drow woman with glossy skin and silver hair calling to her, this Drowess was stunning, Zilvra had never seen a Drow with silver hair and had to admit that it looked good. Zilvra approached and heard her say on a tone she had never heard in her life, "Child the time has come that you must choose where your loyalty lies." As her dream woman holds out her hand and says, "If you take my hand then you shall see that which your heart wants most. If you don't then you will awaken with no memory of this night, choose carefully, but choose now." Zilvra thought for a moment about her choice and wondered exactly her heart wanted most, only one thought came to mind. Being free from her house, as the sixth daughter of her house she didn't have to worry about anything else. She walked to the strange Drowess and took her hand the woman with the silver hair smiled at her. Upon taking her hand she saw her house under attack the deaths of her entire family. The Drowess said, "Go to the human and free him for he will help you protect your house. Wake up now and go to him, for time is not your friend." *********** Zilvra awoke and grabbed her leathers, dressing in a heartbeat as she headed to Henri, she saw two guards drop to the ground dead, with bolts in their chests. Fuck, she muttered under her breath, time was up indeed, as she moved slowly and quietly to the stables and the storage room that held his things. As she opened the door she quickly grabbed his sword and those strange things he carried, she headed to his room as she got to the door and saw a deep blue light from under the door. *********** Henri felt drained after having had his fun with Shynta and fell asleep quickly. He started to dream, he saw a Drowess standing before him with beautiful silver hair down to her ankles. Her voice was like honey to him. She said sounding nothing like the other Drow he had known down here, "Henri it is time for you to be free, on this night you and my children are free of my mother's rule, bring them to me." Henri asked lost in the vision of beauty before him, "Who are you and who are your children?" "I am Eilistraee goddess of love and beauty. I beg you please save my children; will you help them and me?" Eilistraee pleaded with him. Henri knew he couldn't say no to anybody who asked for his help, let alone somebody as beautiful as she was, he thought 'goddess of beauty is a perfect title.' Knowing he would probably regret this he just hung his head and nodded. "Wake up guardian and prepare for your new life, one of my children is coming." She said smiling as her vision faded before his eyes. *********** Zilvra unlocked and opened the door she saw the blue light fade from his chest as he rose and looked at her. Getting closer, she noticed ruin on his chest and could feel the magic emanating from it, from the grimace on his face she knew it hurt. As she entered and got closer, Henri saw a Drowess pointing a crossbow at her, he held out his left hand and watched in shock as five bursts of energy flew out of his hands and hit the woman as she fired the bolt missing Zilvra. Zilvra saw five balls of energy fly out of his hands and miss her completely. She saw another ruin appear on his body it glowed a bright blue and then faded away. As she reached Henri, and asked, "What in the abyss are you?" as he ran out the now open door. With the door open, he grabbed his Katana, charged the stunned Drowess he had hit with that strange energy, and quickly disemboweled her. Henri turned to Zilvra and said, "Honestly I don't know, it just happened. Let worry about that later if were still alive. Where is your mother? I'm sure they are after her, hell my money is on this entire house and that includes us. Unless you want to fight all of them by ourselves." Once outside his room, he took his things and took three pistols sliding two behind him and checking the chamber on the third, as loaded a round into the chamber and took the safety off. He slid the rope that held the Katana in place across his back so it wouldn't interfere with his pistols. They made their way to the main house searching for Zilvra's mother and family. Upon entering the main floor, they saw the carnage and bodies everywhere leading in one direction. Zilvra took off down the hall in the direction of the bodies and in all likely hood her mother's room, with Henri close behind. They burst into the huge master bedroom, he saw a huge battle raging in the matron's room. Henri looked down, he saw his symbols glowing brightly. He saw Mica pulling a dagger out of Shynta's back, she had a whip of snakes tied around her wrist and was chanting and making hand gestures, from the direction she was looking Henri was certain that Belar was her target. He charged in her direction and felt a buildup of energy in his body, he pointed his sword in her direction and saw a bolt of black lightning shoot forth from his sword and arc towards her as little bolts of black lightning hit those on the way to her, killing several people fighting, but when it hit her it didn't do anything to her. He continued to charge ignoring the pain coming from his arm and sheathed his sword. He drew his 9mm as the deafening roar dispatched those in his way. Those closest to him were deaf from the sound of the 9mm. Zilvra saw not only another spell go off but also the speed with which he fought. She couldn't help but admired how quickly and fiercely he fought he wasted not a single movement and the effect of his pistols made it certain she never wanted to be on the other end of them, but liked that his strange weapons made it impossible to cast spells. She saw no gestures or words for the spell yet it happened, she wondered why he would drop such a powerful weapon but made nothing of it when she saw him pull out another. Zilvra was fighting at her mother's side, and saw a male Drow wearing the colors and symbols of the priestesses, he was about to hit her mother as she put her short sword in his back and twisted, she looked at her mother and smirked. She felt someone bump into her and spun thrusting her short sword at the offender, she saw a scimitar parry her strike and saw Belar look her in the eye. They looked all on in shock as they saw him shoot Micarylafay in the head and hit another priestess nearby with the deafening pop, all of them including her mother winced at the noise those things made. With the death of Mica and the effect Henri's pistols were having on the moral, the remaining forces with drew. With the fight, dying out he picked up the other pistols he had drooped during the fight and walked over to Zilvra and Belar's mother, who saw the deep blue glow from his third ruin on body die out. For a brief moment she feared he was going to use those deafening sticks on her. Henri walked up to Zilvra and Belar's mother, he knelt down on both knees and offer her, his sword with his head bowed. Zilvra and Belar's mother wanted to move away from the blade as he held it towards her, thinking it was a trap. Henri knew staying was futile and hopped this would work as he said, "I fought today for your house and ask that I go free in exchange. If you still won't then I ask that you take my head with my sword for I will not help you again." Lady Hla'ath said hoping to calm the situation, "You did well, but they will not attack again." She paused not wanting to lose a good fighter, but also couldn't let a male not to mention a male slave tell her what to do. She said, "If you wish to die then so be it. I will give you the honor of taking your head with my own hands." Against her better judgment Lady Hla'ath reached for the Katana, feeling like she would vomit as her hand got closer. Zilvra grabbed the Katana from his hands and yelled, "He saved your life and he has saved mine twice now. I won't let you kill him, this is not over and we both know he can fight. If you will not free him then I will." In truth Zilvra's mother was relieved that her child had stopped her, because she knew that they would still need him. Coming down from the heat of the battle Zilvra turned to him and said, "Why did you help us? They weren't targeting you until you started attacking them." Henri said flatly and still riding the high of combat, "Because the silver haired Drowess begged me too save her children." Zilvra looked at him in total disbelief and said, "A Drowess with glossy skin and silver hair begged you. Did she say her name?" He said bluntly no knowing how important his words would be, "Yes, she said that her name was Eilistraee or something like that and told me that one of her children was coming to get me that was when I woke up and saw you open the door." Zilvra and her mother looked at each other and said the same word Eilistraee. They couldn't understand why she would save them. Zilvra asked him "Did she say anything else?" He asked wondering why such a warm goddess wasn't talked about by them, "She said that I am free now and that I should bring you to her. By the way where is she?" "The surface, she wants us to go to the surface." Was her reply and for the first time since Henri had saved her she was hopeful. Zilvra and her mother were both shocked at the thought of living on the surface, though Zilvra was also excited at the prospect. Henri looked at Zilvra and asked the one thing the kept nagging at him, "How did you know what she looked like?" Everybody looked at Zilvra waiting to hear her answer even Zilvra's own mother looked at her wanting to know the answer to this one. She shrunk and answer in a small voice sounding more like a little girl than a grown woman and hoping no one heard her and said, "I had a dream of her tonight and she told me go and get you." Her mother was shocked and said, "Zilvra have the gods, or goddesses ever come to you before in your dreams?" Her mother thought, 'is my daughter a heretic or is she becoming a sage?' "No mother never before tonight" she answered in fear of what her mother might do or think, she knew she would be dead if her mother ever found out about her ability. Henri said coldly as he realized that they were wasting time that could be used to escape, "Listen, I don't care about any of this but you have hurt people here and you had better get ready to fight again, unless you want to leave her and go find this woman like I promised." He looked at the lifeless body of Shynta and felt remorse at her death, she had become a welcome distraction for him and her loyalty surprised him, he knelt down and closed her eyes and even kissed her good bye before standing and walking towards the door. "Will you help us fight," asked Zilvra and Belar's mother. He looked around and said,"No, Dirzune who came and saw me last week sent them look at all the priestesses that came." He pointed to Zilvra but was really speaking to all of them as he said, "She wants you and me dead. You won't give me, my freedom and I'm done helping those who will keep me in chains. What more do I have to do, I saved your daughter's life twice." Zilvra said calmly as she handed the Katana back to him, "Yes, you did and I agree with you we need to leave, but I don't know how to get the surface." "What do think you are doing? Zilvra he is a slave and you are not the matron of this family." Her mother said angrily, not wanting to give up her power, she was also feeling the effects of the Mind Flayer near by trying to control her. Zilvra could feel something off about her mothers actions looked around and said, "Mother today our house died. Look, you lost four of your six daughters and still you want to stay and die. I'm going to the surface with the one person I know wants to get away from our certain destruction and look at the power he wielded in battle. I couldn't ask for a better person to be at my side and if I must side with a slave in order to live then I will." Fed up with her mother's foolishness and deep down excited to finally leave this place behind, even if it was in ruins. Her anger at her mother had caused her powers to activate and shield her remaining family from the Mind Flayer. Had the Mind Flayer been closer it could have over powered her protection and take back control. Her mother looked at the bodies of her children and looked at her remaining daughters, her eyes glowing red. She knew Zilvra was right but she wanted revenge or to die with her children she but she knew she had lost the day and wanted to live to fight another. 'A mother's instinct' she thought and in the back of her mind pondered how foolish such feelings truly were. The fact was the Mind Flayer was trying to get them to stay until Dark Sister were in place. Akordia finally spoke with the conviction of having made up her mind and said, "Henri as of today we are going to the surface, and when we get there you are free to do what you want. Now we need to find my daughters sire, he knows how to get to the surface." "Let me get my things. We need to stay together who knows if an assassin is still around waiting for the chance, matron you and Belar stay together and have everybody look for your mate in groups of four so everybody has somebody to watch their backs. Zilvra and I will get my things. Let's meet at the stables in one hour and if we haven't found him, we'll just have to get going without him. Agreed?" He said ignoring the looks of disgust as a lowly male slave gave orders. After Zilvra and Henri got the rest of his things they found Alak hiding in Henri's old storage room next to the cell. Walking up to her father she said, "We are going to the surface. Can you get us there?" He cautiously said, "I can and who is we?" "Me, mother, Belarbreena, Henri, and you a few servants as well" said Zilvra. Henri dressed in his combat fatigues and grabbed all his gear and headed back to the rally point as the others joined them. When they got together, they tried to figure out what they would need to bring. Any remaining servants were loading the wagons and hitching the lizzards. He offered, "Just bring clothes and money you can buy anything you need on the surface." Alak being the most knowledgeable about the surface replied, "They won't trust us, we are one of the most hated enemies on the surface so nobody will sell to us." Henri hung his head and said, "I'll help you till you are on your feet. I shouldn't have any problems with them, right?" Alak thought for a second, smiled and said, "Yes, you will be able to get very good things from anybody humans, elves and even dwarves would welcome you into their villages." He stopped and thought some more before saying, "We should bring some goods with us, we, I mean you will get a great price for them on the surface." Akordia said in disbelief, "Alak are you saying we should trust this human with our business." He was getting tired of the arguing hollered, "Let's take them, but we need to go now before the next attack comes." They all agreed and headed off for the surface although none of them were pleased, except for Zilvra who was looking forward to it. They left in two wagons Alak driving the one and a servant driving the other while they rode in the back. Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 06 As they rode off a dark presence was lurking in the shadows watching the plan had worked so far the guardian was on his way to the surface, as they rounded up any others survivors from both sides and even the dead were dragged off. Once they cleared the compound and were out of view of the others Alak saw Dirzune with three others one looked very young, he told the others what he saw. Hearing this Henri grabbed his pistol and walked up to Dirzune, a man with mostly blond hair stepped in front of her and walked up to him saying, "We mean you no harm. If we did we would have attacked already." Henri asked scanning for any sign of movement and wondering why she was letting this man talk asking, "Then what do you want?" Rikton looked Henri in the eye, Rikton's eyes it had none of the condescension Henri had seen from the others and said, "I would like to talk to you man to man. If that is alright with you?" Henri had to hand it to this Drow, he had balls and they must be really big to speak like he was. Henri wanting to see if he could start trouble said, "I haven't met a Drow man yet, so surprise me." Rikton smiled at the statement, clearly he knew more than he was telling Henri and said, "We would like to come with you. I am a powerful mage and Dirzune is a very powerful priestess. The other two are our children and we want to give them a better life on the surface." Henri shouted to Dirzune really he wanted to see her disagree so he could leave them behind, "Do you agree with what he is saying?" As she walked up Henri stepped back to have room to move should they try anything. She asked Henri, "What did he say?" So Henri explained everything still looking for her to disagree with him. Dirzune said, "Remember how I was asking if you would do the right thing? Well this is the right thing." Henri almost laughed at the thought, it was beyond absurd and said, "You, just had their house attacked and you expect me to do the right thing. Well a bullet to the face would fix that problem." Dirzune flushed with anger and was about to speak when that blond Drow stepped in again, showing a lot of courage gaining Henri's respect for the moment and said, "As her husband I would rather you not. Besides I don't think my children would like to see their mother murdered before their eyes. I am not asking you to trust her but to trust me. Have I ever done anything to harm you?" Henri knew the blond Drow had him and he said, "No, you haven't. However, you can't fault me for not trusting any of your kind." Rikton smiled all his research on humans was right and said, "Then give me a chance to prove you wrong." Henri sighed, this one was different and Henri was certain he knew it. Henri said, "I am going to give you the rope to either hang yourself with or you will be the first Drow to earn my trust." Rikton held out his hand and they shook, for Henri it felt odd to shake the hand of a Drow, who knows maybe this is the beginning of a new direction in his interactions with these people. They settled into the last wagon with Henri, Zilvra the strange man who was called Rikton, Dirzune and their two children. Henri unholstered his weapons and set them on the wagons floor as he did he saw both Rikton and Zilvra looking at them. He stripped his weapons and started cleaning them, felt strange to Henri they had a hum to them. Zilvra sat down next to Henri and asked, "What are you doing?" with Rikton watching him as well. Not so much him as his aura and the magic that radiated off his pistols. "Cleaning my weapons they are very fragile and need to be kept clean," he said very casually. "How do they work? I saw them work and heard the loud noise they make. How did it do that?" she asked baffled as Rikton moved closer. He wanted to know how they worked as well as study how they interacted and how that affected their auras. Henri took out a bullet from one of the pistols cut the slug from the charge, tipped the casing over looked at the powder in his hand and said, "That powder is very strong magic, and when it burns it explodes. Since the magic can't go anywhere, it pushes this. We call it a slug this travels so fast you can't see it, a slug can go through the armor of any knight here." Henri wondered if he probably shouldn't tell her, but it looks like they would need to work together so he might as well start building trust. He hopped that for maybe the first time in her life she might have somebody to lean on and he wouldn't have to sleep with an eye open. Zilvra was shocked that this could go through armor and Rikton looked on in disbelief. For Rikton these two were the most fascinating thing ever. Henri had just confirmed what he was beginning to suspect, that humans were developing the science into a very powerful form of magic, or so he thought now he was learning this was not magic at all but simple alchemy. While that did explain how his pistols worked it don't explain how they got imbued with magic. She asked Henri, "And how does that work?" pointing to the pistol. "Well this is a bullet; we put them into these clips. We then slap the clip in the pistol like this. After that, we slide the top back like this and a bullet goes into what we call the chamber ready to fire." He explained. He handed her the gun and said, "Put your hand like this and your finger there now push that lever towards you." She shook her head no and said, "It will go off and hurt you." "Just do it," Henri saw the safety on and said. She did, and nothing happened so she tried two more times and finally said, "It doesn't work did you break it when you put it back together." "It won't fire until you flip this lever here, now it is ready to kill. We call that thing a safety as long as it is like this the pistol won't fire. Always remember guns don't kill people, swords don't cut and arrows can't pierce, people only other people can do all of that." He said. He took the pistol from her set the safety and holstered it and continued to clean his other guns while Zilvra and Rikton watched. The rest of the day was uneventful and as they set up camp bedded down for the night, besides the servant on watch two others reflected on what they are seeing and feeling. Dirzune looks at her lover and says, "Do see what I mean about him? Are we truly doing the right thing? It isn't to late to drag him back." Rikton raised an eyebrow in disbelief and said, "I see that you have been keeping far to much from me. I will have to teach you to see auras, because his is a site but hers that is something to be hold. With everything that has happened you would rather go back then learn things we would never have permission to learn other wise. As for us dragging him back, we are missing about 40 of your best from your former Shrilara and that might be an understatement. If we take him then we need to know more about him, other wise we will wind up on the other end of that deafening stick. He seems certain that we have no way to protect ourselves from it." Dirzune had no reason to doubt Rikton's logic but his statement about Zilvra had her at a loss as she said, "What makes her so interesting that I would need to see?" He loved it when she was curious about something, it reminded him of the young drowess who had captured his heart all those centuries ago, not will to just tell her he said, "Do you remember what her mother wanted to be?" Searching her lengthy memory she said, "Didn't she come to you so she could be a Harbinger?" He just smiled and said, "That is correct, she wanted to do the rights to be Lloth's Harbinger, she trained so hard but her aura never got strong enough to cleanse and hold a soul. That is when she took an interest in Alak my most promising student and head of house Hla'ath." Rikton watched as Dirzune ran through the whole affair and remembered how Akordia became matron of house Hla'ath, even the powerful magic that all but Zilvra had displayed, drawing her conclusion she said, "Are you telling me she is a Harbinger? That she can house souls like a sorceress?" He looked at the dreaming Zilvra and said, "Her aura is strong enough, but no she would not be a one, she would be something else, something new. As you know Harbingers hunt the undead and bring them to Lloth. She has skills as a fighter and a thief that a Harbinger would wish for, she would make a frightening sorceress with the souls she could hold. That is why sorcery is forbidden denying Lloth a soul is a death sentence. What is truly amazing is the power of her aura around her head, it is almost like a Mind Flayer's aura." She interjected saying, "Are you saying she is some kind of psion?" He just shook his head and said, "I am certainly going to teach you to read auras. A Mind Flayer's aura is very calm and in control of that power, Zilvra's aura around her head is strong like a Mind Flayer's but is chaotic, so if I had to say I don't think she has any powers like a psion would. It does make me think about that like she has and if it shapes it or controls it. We must learn more about them, our lives just might depend on it." Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 07 Let me start by thanking my sounding board and editing staff. So a huge thanks to Traff, BunLover and Anubismark for their hard work in dealing with my bad English. This is the end of Chapter 2, I know some of you are not happy with what happened to Shynta and Mica but don't think I am done with them they will be back in Chapter 3 (Ever wonder what the Drow afterlife is like?) Part 7 is going to be spent on getting to know Belar, Zilvra, Rikton and Dirzune. While I have used fantasy novels and the world of Forgotten Realms for inspiration this is my world and some things are not the same. I will thank Gary Gygax for creating such a world. ***** Disposable Hero 2.7 The Gathering Escape Once asleep, Zilvra was visited again by Eilistraee, which of course made Zilvra feel very uncomfortable, being visited once was more than enough for her and she hoped this wouldn't be a regular thing. Eilistraee showed her a vision of a world filled with buildings touching the sky and wagons moving without horses, some of which she had seen in Henri's dream. She told Zilvra that this is the world of Henri and if she stayed close and followed him, that he will lead her to the truth about herself, have a grand adventure and her greatest desire. She asked the goddess, "Why have you chosen me? I have never worshipped you or paid you any homage." Eilistraee gave her a warm smile and replied, "Ask your sire why you were chosen, he has much to tell. Child, great things are coming and you can shape that future for all of my mother's children in the Foreverdark. Only you and your deepest desires drew me to you. I could see how you wanted to be away from your house and even wondered what the surface was like, that is what drew me to you. I can only give you a path, you must choose to follow or not. If you wish to go back that is for you to decide. While I hope you won't, it is still your choice. I will help as I am allowed" "What is my deepest desire? Why is he here? This is not his land, is it?" Zilvra asked. "Your greatest desire is as old as time itself, to be loved and to love. But not a love that you know, I have seen your desire for something more than the relationship your mother has. I am the goddess of love and beauty, your desire for a certain type of love was what I saw and why you are my champion. While your father opened the door for me, you could be my greatest hope for the children of the shadows. You are right, he is not from Alirota. No city looks like that in the night above. If you wish to know his path, you must walk it with him, it is not an easy path and one filled with sadness; it began with blood and it will end in blood. He was chosen for a very important job and his life will change in ways you can't imagine. He is the one you can rely on; always remember this because it is as true as water being wet. He can't turn his back on those in need, it is as much a part of him as our dark skin is us, as you will see if that is the path you wish to follow." She answered. She showed Zilvra images of 4 humans 1 man, 1 boy and 2 females one a teenager and the other looking not much older, Zilvra can see them crying as the image fades. Zilvra thought she recognized Yuuya and Kirara but the other two she had no idea. She knew love was not for the Drow and figured there must be more to this and asked Eilistraee, "So how will I know this love of mine? Who are these people? Why are they crying?" Eilistraee answered with yet another smile she knew Zilvra's curiosity would lead Zilvra on the path that Eilistraee herself had set her on, "You will know by its touch and when you embrace it you will understand its strength. Love is not one thing, it is several things and each means something to the individual. Open yourself to the world that awaits you and you will see love like you have never known. They are those who love him. The younger ones are his children, the older his brother and sister, they think he has died. This is the sadness of war and you must learn it for this is Henri's weakness. He has lost a lot and even now he mourns Shynta in his way. Don't be afraid of the weakness that things may appear to be on the surface, embrace it and you will see a world you never knew existed and remember, he will always be there." The image burned into her mind and the goddess let her sleep. Knowing Zilvra will have to make her choice she has done all she can to help, now it is up to Zilvra. Zilvra slept wondering what else the goddess had in store for her; Eilistraee herself had said that she would help as allowed. Did that mean that the all-powerful Lloth answered to another? Awaking Zilvra got up and scouted around the camp site she found some Olathni and smiled at her good fortune. Olathni, or dark berry, was a sweet fruit close to a kiwi in flavor but about half the size. For many Drow the Olath was a prized bush but it was hard to transplant. The irony of this discovery wasn't wasted on Zilvra whose name translated as child of Zil. Zil was the beautiful but highly toxic flower that came from the Olath bush, which is made into a highly lethal poison. Picking an arm full of the berries about the size of a crab apple, Zilvra headed back to camp and cut the stem off. By tomorrow she would have a wonderful and safe meal, if the stem was left on the whole fruit would turn toxic. After getting together and getting situated they started out into the wilds of the Foreverdark, the going would be very treacherous, and Zilvra knew the Caluss Faer were known to be in the area. Zilvra felt a chill to see the most feared thing in the Foreverdark. Every Drow knows to stay far away from a Caluss Faer and learned it as a child to fear the sight of one. Mothers told stories of Caluss draining an unwitting Drow of their magic and making them "Nautilythiiri the cursed" and maybe even more feared undead Drow who were like a vampire on the surface. The difference was that they only fed on Drow magic unlike their creator and master who fed on all magic. Zilvra took point, keeping an eye out for any of the million creatures that could harm if not kill a Drow in they were unwary. Henri was shocked to see a forest underground and admired the black wood, that Rikton called Renor Lorulm and told him it was the wood that was used for everything from doors to bows. He did admit that it made a bad bow, lacking the flex that surface bow had, and was why most Drow used crossbows. Around midday they came upon Zilvra laying a top a small hill looking down on something she was not moving. Henri's knew that she saw something she didn't like and stalked up to her. He laid down next to her and looked down in the other side of the hill. Maybe 300 meters away were two very strange Drow unlike any he had ever seen before, they seemed to have trouble with their motor control and twitched constantly. He watched as they lifted their heads in the air sniffing the wind like a dog hunting for a scent. While Henri and Zilvra were watching the Nautilythiiri, Gabriella watched and debated if she should help Henri or not. Her orders were to leave him to his own devices but these undead could ruin her father's plans. She knew they were created by magic eaters that maintain the weave. She cursed the transformed, who used too much magic and opened a hole that the magic eaters fell through and into this realm from the veil. She knew the Nautilythiiri and even the Magic Eaters could not handle the chaos of her parents' powers and that was the debate. Should she channel her own chaotic powers into Henri and of course some would go into Zilvra. She looked at Belar and thought about the child growing inside of her and had her decision. She placed her hand on Henri's shoulder and began to slowly pour the power of her father into the two of them for those undead had to be destroyed. Rikton and Dirzune were watching Henri and Zilvra and saw her silent speak the worst thing for any Drow to hear 'two Nautilythiiri close' This was the worst of luck, everything that grew in the Foreverdark was magic and would do nothing to them, they needed mundane weapons made from regular steel or iron not the mythril that their weapons were made of. Rikton saw a shimmer standing over Henri and out of the corner of his eye he saw Dirzune's eyes get wide and knew she felt something and thought this might be a good time to teach her to read auras. He leaned over and asked, "You can feel it, can't you? Do you know what it is?" She just said in a hushed tone, "It feels like a very powerful Avatar if not a goddess herself, it is that powerful." Rikton was beside himself as he watched the shimmering form touch Henri, his jaw hit the floor as he watched the black in Henri's aura become blacker than black, like it was darkness itself. He leaned over again and asked, "Did you feel that? Do you have any clue on what I am seeing?" She whispered, "How could I not know our son would feel that. As to what I can tell you that I have never felt anything like that and I took part in three campaigns. I saw plenty of priests from other faiths use the powers their goddesses bestowed upon them. Nothing felt like that but now I understand what some of my Shrilara meant when they talked about how the chaos of Struledo felt." Rikton was lost in the idea that a goddess had put Chaos into him and he didn't become deformed. The fact that he could see the same in Zilvra's portion of black aura as well, he wondered what the lasting affect this would have on them. He turned to Dirzune and explained how to see a magical aura, she was very bright and the chance to see what was going on would have her hooked. She focused on Henri and let her natural magic flow then tried to channel it to her eyes as Rikton had instructed. She saw a swirl of colors in place of Henri; she noted the black, white and blue in Henri and asked, "Why is he black, white and blue?" Rikton smiled and said, "That is the question I want answered. He is human so his aura should only be white. If he were a priest it would be only white. A magic user of any kind would be a brighter white and a non-magic user a darker white or a dirty white. I have summoned demons for the ceremony and they have black auras, as to why a demon would give power to a human is beyond me and the blue I am still trying to figure out. I did some research and magical creatures like the Bah'lach have blue auras. That doesn't explain why he has such a thing. Now look at me and then at Zilvra and tell me what you see." As she did just that, she winced in pain at seeing his bright red aura and quickly turned to Zilvra out of reflex and saw her red, white, black and blue auras. She turned back to Rikton closing her eyes as she did and said, "I knew they were linked but I thought it was a spell he had on her. Does that mean she is part human? Or she has part of his soul in her? How come her aura isn't as bright as yours or his for that fact?" Rikton knew she was hooked and would spend days looking at them trying to master this ability, her questions were good ones and being in lecture mode he said without thinking, "The reason they look dull to you is your eyes are not used to the different powers, being so close to any mage will make them look brighter. As for their connection I want to see how it handles this fight, you know they are sensing him and I for one want to see what they can do and how it helps or hurts them." Zilvra felt a chill up her spine and could feel something next to Henri but wasn't taking her eyes off the Nautilythiiri, once both the feeling and the chill passed she turned to Henri pointed back to the caravan. As they walked back she asked, "Did you feel that just a minute ago?" She watched as Henri shook his head no and continued, "Something touched you, something very powerful that is." Henri was about to answer her but stopped when her saw Rikton and Dirzune looking at them intently, he did not like the look, which he had seen from Dirzune every time she talked with him at the compound. After watching the Nautilythiiri, Zilvra knew she was completely defenseless because of that innate magic. Her mind raced looking for answers knowing that Henri was what they were sensing as she looked at him it hit her like a ton of bricks. She had two ideas one was his ability to create items that were mundane, the other was how his own weapons gave off no detectable magic even though he did. She was amazed that he could move so quietly being the giant he was, few of her own people could blend into the shadows like she could, yet Henri was better than most she had seen and trained with, he was certainly better than any of her sisters. She too saw the look that they were getting and compared it to Belar's look when plotting something and was certain this would not be pleasant. She sighed, her frustration exacerbated by the looks she got from everybody and asked, "What have I, or we, done now?" Dirzune bristled at the challenge from Zilvra and was about to set her straight when Rikton interjected saying, "Child do you not feel the change in magic in your own body?" He knew that both Henri and Zilvra had serious reservations about them and knew he was walking into a trap from both women. Zilvra acted insulted but was thrilled to have a confrontation with either of them, she didn't trust either even if Henri seemed to get on well with Rikton, she knew one blow up and he would side with her out of necessity. Of course their link wouldn't hurt either or so she hoped. Zilvra's own dislike of the priestesses as a whole took over as she snapped, "I am no child old fool, call me that again and watch your back even more than you do now." With that she turned and walked towards Belar trying to hide her smile, deep down she was worried that he had seen something when she felt that presence. She knew of one voice that would be in her corner beside Henri's and that was Belar, she would get answers from her before she would even consider talking to Dirzune's ally. She saw Henri standing next to Belar and walked up to him and began explaining, "What you saw down there were what we call Nautilythiiri, they are, or rather were, Drow but they were attacked by a creature that feeds on magic and drained of all theirs becoming what you saw. I think they are being drawn to you and will follow us. They are immune to magic and even are healed by it so Belar, Rikton and Dirzune are not going to be any help. At least Belar can fight with a sword." Henri didn't like the thought of being the reason they were there, but knew they were all well-armed, and said, "We are all armed and they are only two, even without magic we can take them." Belar shocked that Nautilythiiri were so close said, "Henri, our weapons are made from a metal that is magical and would heal some of the damage to them. We need weapons made from a non-magical metal like your sword." Zilvra continued on that line of thought saying, "Remember how you made those fighting sticks out of Renor Lorulm? When you finished they were made of a surface wood and had no magic to them. No magic means Nautilythiiri will feel all damage. Can you make more of those sticks, or other weapons, to help us kill the Nautilythiiri?" Henri knew he could but wondered if he could make that many. Suddenly he remembered the Wakizashi and Tanto he had in his bag and reaching into his pack he pulled out both. Belar jumped back remembering how much it hurt to be near his swords as well as Drow nature to be wary of tricks. She berated herself for such a reflex action, but not too hard as Henri looked at her lost as to her reaction and a little hurt that the mother of his child thought he would hurt her said, "This is a Wakizashi like your smaller swords; it is made the same way as my Katana. Who wants it?" Zilvra grabbed it and unsheathed it, feeling no magic from it she handed it to Belar saying, "You are better than I am with a sword. It doesn't give off any magic so it will work on them." Belar took the sword and thanked Henri. Henri held the Tanto out to Zilvra and said, "Then I guess this is yours, it is balanced so you can throw it. Wish I would have remembered to bring the two Bokkens they would have been helpful." Zilvra smiled a wolfish grin and went to the wagon pulling out both Bokkens and handed one to Henri and kept the other for herself. She saw Dirzune and Rikton looking at them and knew that it would help if Dirzune had a weapon as well, she wasn't sure if her mother would fight with them or not. As she headed toward Dirzune, Zilvra's mother stood before her and said, "We are the ones to protect him, do you really think the one who planned our downfall would help now? For all you know this could have been part of the plan, to lead us here to them and then slink off while the Nautilythiiri feast on us. What reason do I have to trust her with the remaining members of my house?" Dirzune said coldly, sounding every bit the priestess of Lloth she was, "Because I was one of the three standing before you in the dream, a dream those two never had for they are not followers. I knew this and said nothing, have you forgotten what I do for our mistress? Would you really like to find out?" Rikton stepped in for two reasons one to save the group and also to see this magic that Henri could do and said, "You both are right, Akordia you have no reason to trust us and Dirzune you could have turned them in but you knew they were the other two spiders in the dream. So how about Akordia keeps the wooden sword that you can't use, remember she trained to be a Harbinger so her skill is good enough." Turning to Henri he asked, "Could you turn my staff into her mace? It is made from the same wood and even if it breaks, I would rather it break on them." Lacking any real reason not to, Henri did as Rikton asked, while he watched Henri's aura get brighter than even his own, he made note that while that was going on Zilvra's aura calmed as if they were channeling magic through each other. While nothing new for mages to channel spells through each other it took training and practice, they did this without thought or preparation. This didn't sit well with Rikton if Dirzune tried to take control of these two it would end very badly for her and being the weak male he was for him as well, for he would fight alongside the woman he loved even if it meant his death. He understood now that Dirzune could be the biggest problem in this group. Maybe that is why Lloth chose her to keep the guardian and his champions from working together. He watched as a little of the chaos energy was fed into the final form of the wooden mace which matched the one in Dirzune's hand. That final display had him convinced he must keep Dirzune from antagonising Henri and Zilvra at all costs, or they stood a good chance of both dying at their hands. As Herni started shaping the mace the magic was felt by the Nautilythiiri who shuffled up the hill with urgency. As Henri handed the mace to Dirzune both her and her daughter began chanting, Dirzune saying, "Lloth grant you blessing upon us, so that we may smite your enemies." Ethev saying, "Lloth aid your humble servant as she does battle in your name." She then touched her mother. Cresting over the hill were the two Nautilythiiri, who moved with surprising quickness toward Henri and Zilvra, like they were drawn by magnets. Henri felt a wave of repulsion as they got closer, as if for some unknown reason he wanted these things dead in the worse way. With his Katana unsheathed he rushed to taller of the two, whose clawed hand caught Henri across the back cutting him open when he tried to duck the blow. The Nautiluthiiri worked together on him as he slashed the smaller across the chest and watched as blood began to ooze from the wound. Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 07 Zilvra leaped into the fray cracking the taller in the back as it clawed Henri, these things were fast when they were close to food and she barely dodged the claw that lashed out at her. She saw out of the corner of her eye Belar thrust Henri's Wakizashi into the shoulder of the smaller Nautilythiiri that was busy with Henri, she watched as Belar's eyes danced with joy as the right arm fell to its side useless. Belar watched as Henri swatted away a weak attempt, one she could have dodged easily and felt insulted thinking Henri was belittling her by doing so, when she noticed what he was really doing and that was tying up the left side of their foe and creating openings for her. Zilvra was caught up in watching the two of them work together that she was out of position and shrieked as she saw Henri get clawed twice in his back by the larger one, she saw the price of her inattentiveness as she saw the blood flowing from his back, what remained of the skin on his back looked like strips rather than skin. She cursed herself for letting the one person who had faith in her down, she knew he needed to get rid of the sword it was distracting him and figured he could do better without it. She implored, "Drop the sword you fool they are too fast and you are not skilled enough to take them." When he whipped his head around and his eyes locked on hers she knew something was up but not what and she readied herself for anything. She watched closely as Henri swept low with his leg knocking the larger one to the ground as he stood, Henri grabbed the tip of his Katana reared back and threw it like a knife at Zilvra. Zilvra focused on the grip and watched the meter long sword spin towards her. She turned to the side and caught it near the pommel, following up she twirled to defuse the momentum. Having finished her twirl, she looked up in time to see Henri ready to strike the larger Nautilythiiri> She noticed his stance was similar to when he put his hand through the board back at the estate. Fascinated, she watched the clenched fist until it was obstructed by the Nautilythiiri's body, then she heard Henri's Kai as he made contact and watched in awe as the back of the Nautilythiiri exploded in a nearly perfect circle from where his fist made contact all the way out its back. Looking around she found its heart and crushed it under foot regardless of the fact that it was already dead. She watched as Henri blocked the strike from the smaller one and saw Belar thrust her blade through the neck of that one as it dropped to the ground dead. She was glad the fight was a quick one, any longer and Henri would be in a bad way, her leathers offered more protection then the strange clothes he wore. Dirzune walked up to Henri still in shock from having seen him manifest a spell that worked on the most hated undead Drow and said, "We have pleased Lloth by killing these two abominations, glory to Lloth for our victory. I tried to help but the three of you danced around taking away my opening and my spells are useless against them." Rikton added, "The way you moved was like watching a dance with blades, it was like you each knew what the other was going to do." Henri looked around and saw the happy looks that come from surviving a battle, he could feel his back burning and heard Belar gasp. He turned to ask her what was wrong, having no idea that his healing magic was closing the wounds on his back. Once he turned he saw a disturbance behind her like heat vapor coming off a road on a hot day, he was going to say something when he saw the shape of a scorpion's stinger. Acting on instinct he pushed her to the ground as the stinger struck him in the right pectoral, he grabbed it as it came into view. A Caluss Faer it looked like a giant scorpion but instead of a pair of pincers it had a pair of snake like heads with matching fangs. Zilvra grabbed the Tanto and hit the Faer in the stinger, everybody watched as the blade sank into the tail causing it to rot away. Zilvra charged the left snake-like head and Belar now on her feet charged the right one. Dirzune grabbed her mace and could feel a strange energy pulsating through it, normally she would want to know what it was, but she had bigger problems and charged in aiming for the left eye. She saw Zilvra dodging and keeping the snake like head busy, they made brief eye contact and Zilvra understood that she was to keep that head busy. With Belar distracting it and Henri between the right one Dirzune wasn't concerned, she ran up with her mace overhead and struck the left eye of the Faer, she could feel the power flow through the mace and into the eye watching as it began to rot. She jumped back as the Faer roared in pain. Zilvra saw the rotting spread from the eye and ducked the strike of the snake head and thrust Henri's Katana through the mouth and out the top of the head, again she saw the head begin to rot apparently from the sword. Belar danced and parried the blows of the remaining snake-like head. Watching a Bladesinger fight was like watching a prima ballerina dance with such grace and fluidity. She was feinting and slashing behind the head, and as she struck she saw the same rotting and began to sever the head from the body before it rotted. Dirzune moved back in to strike the Faer again striking the already rotting flesh near the eye, as her mace sunk into the skull of the Faer it thrashed about wailing like a dying animal before it finally stopped moving. They all rushed to Henri and Dirzune began chanting her spell to heal Henri. Magic began to fill the air as she said, "Lloth your servant beseeches you to heal this warrior who has protected one of your children and help fell those you have sworn to destroy. Grant me this power in your name." Lloth watched the battle with glee, the prayers to her had given her this opportunity. She smiled as she watched Henri lying on the ground dying. She had kept her word her people had not killed him and Death would not and could not hold her accountable as she refused the prayer of her servant. This had worked out better than she had planned, even if Henri died the Renewal would still happen and after she had her vengeance she would lead her people back to the surface and the rule of all Alitora. Zilvra and Belar watched as Dirzune failed to heal Henri, Dirzune looked to the ceiling as said, "Lloth has her reasons, I concede to her wisdom." She was clearly dejected that Lloth had left him to die; she wondered why she wanted him protected in the first place. Was it just to protect him from the other Drow? Did he not need healing? Belar had her own ideas after seeing Henri's back begin to heal and grabbed Zilvra pushing her on top of Henri. Zilvra looked at Belar and said, "What in the Abyss are you doing?" Belar responded saying, "You and he have a link and he was healing before this, now look his wounds are opening back up. You can channel his healing into him; I will help you, now do as I say." Zilvra was about to argue when she felt a chill run through her, she looked down at Henri and confirmed her worst fear, he had to live if she was to live. She put her hands on the wound and nodded to Belar. Belar expected a fight and when it didn't come she understood that their link wasn't severed, she also knew that Zilvra had some powers of her own. She placed her hand on Zilvra's shoulder and explained, "Close your eyes and find the magic flowing in you. Once you find it, follow it, when it leaves you focus on sending your magic with it." Zilvra tried as she was told, she felt the magic flow but it had a current and was pushing against her. She asked, "I have found it but the magic is pushing against mine what do I do?" Belar didn't answer instead she channeled her own magic into her sister, Zilvra felt this rush of magic come from behind her and go through her and out into Henri. Rikton watched fascinated by the display before him, the bright colors in the auras of Zilvra and Belar, his voice echoed said fascination when he said, "Are you seeing this?" Dirzune replied, "I tried but it was painfully bright, I don't need the sight to feel the magic flowing off of them." Rikton refuted the magic claim saying, "This is no magic I know, if I had to call it anything I would call it soul magic. It is like they want this to happen, but why? What do they gain by keeping him alive? Belar would be rid of his compulsion? Zilvra I understand trying to save him, they are life linked. Priestesses trying to have half-demon children make the same link with the child's sire to prevent treachery. They are interesting to say the least, you should have brought them to me sooner, I tried my own spies which you caught,.You had wards put up to keep that away from me and other houses. I am too far behind to help you. This new magic could be something we could use against the Sssiks tsossus and even Rivvin." Dirzune had good reason not to trust him, Rikton worked for Intra and such a find would have to be reported to Intra herself. She used her power as a priestess of Lloth as well as an inquisitor to hide Henri from Intra and the Council of Eight until she had answers. The best place for Henri was in the estate of a merchant house that had kept humans before and she would feed Rikton information. In the tower everybody in the city would know about Henri and his abilities. She watched as the stinger was removed by Akordia and black venom oozed out the wound as it slowly started to knit itself closed. She replied, "I think Belar's compulsion isn't his doing, but somebody else did that. We have seen him do things without knowing but a compulsion like that takes skill and a level of underhandedness he doesn't have. You trained this family in magic so who would you say would be the most likely? As to what they would gain look at Belar and her child. At this point she shouldn't be showing yet she is, could it be that her child wants to save its sire? We have both seen Belar's magic grow and look even her child is channeling magic through Zilvra. While I would have loved to see you study them there are too many eyes at the Tower and nobody would waste spies on a merchant house." Rikton didn't know Henri like his lover did, but from what he knew of Henri a compulsion wouldn't be to his taste. He did have an idea on two people in the Hla'ath house who would and could use one, but they were both dead so the compulsion should have ended unless it was tinkered with and that had Shynta written all over it. He shared this with Dirzune who found it disappointing that she was dead. A compulsion that could last after the death of the giver was a perfect Fuck You to the person who had such a thing; it was a perfect Drow spell. In truth Belar's actions surprised even her, she wondered if this might be the work of her child. From time to time she would get feelings that weren't her own. Shynta had told her that her child's feelings would come to her, but after 6 months not the three she was now. It even disturbed her that she was starting to show at three months and she wasn't even in the first trimester of an elfin pregnancy. The heavy heart she felt had to be the work of her child and when she touched her sister, she felt the magic flow from her child. This only reinforced her belief that her child wanted this. While she was channeling her magic into her sister, she kept thinking about the pair of eyes watching them. She was fully aware that this display of power would be seen as a threat by Dirzune and to a lesser extent her dangerous if eccentric ally Rikton and knew from the way he watched Dirzune that this was more than the normal alliance. With Henri out of action she would bet heavily that they would try something, the biggest wild card in this was her own mother and who she sided with. If her mother sided with her and Zilvra then they had a Drow Waltz, called such because both partners expected something underhanded. If her mother sided with Dirzune, Belar didn't like the fact that it was likely because her mother was still young enough to have more children and would want to keep her position as Matriarch. They would both wind up as little more than lab rats for Rikton at best and the priestesses at worst. It dawned on her that her only real hope of freedom was with Henri. If he was conscious this fight would be even if her mother sided with Dirzune and she knew her mother wouldn't try anything that might have her removed from what imaginary power she had. Her back up plan was to either use the magic wands that Henri called pistols, knowing that they would make it so she could not use the words of power but neither would anybody else and she loved those odds, knowing the only person who was close to her skill was Zilvra and she would fight with her. She felt the magic slow and then stop as she knelt at her sisters side and pulled one of Henri's pistol from the holder, stood turned keeping the pistol in front of her and out of sight as she walked over to the severed snake like head and slid the pistol into its mouth for safe keeping until she could rig a way to hide it from view. With the help of a levitation spell they loaded Henri into the last wagon and continued on their way. Zilvra taking point with Henri's Katana and Tanto on her person, her mind preoccupied with her duties she almost forgot about what happened until they set up camp. She saw Belar had set herself up next to Henri and opposite Dirzune, the sight of a sleeping Henri brought the events of the day back to her and she felt the full effect of what had transpired. She plopped to the ground next to Henri curled up next to him and fell asleep in seconds. Belar watched this and wanted to chuckle at the stupidity of her sister when felt a urging coming from deep within and cursed her child, she noticed the contented sleep from her sister and out of curiosity checked Zilvra's aura sure enough her sister aura was much brighter than before, the biggest shock was seeing the how their auras synced. Her sister was sharing her power with Henri and she didn't even know it but in the process she was becoming stronger. The sight of this and the growing desire to do the same had won her over as she curled up next to Henri as well. Rikton who was on watch with one of the drivers looked at the three of them and switched his vision to seeing auras. The result did not surprise him seeing the auras of Henri, Zilvra and Belar all synced, what did surprise him was the sight of a small aura inside of Belar also synced. This was a surprise for two reasons, one, the aura was visible, and this shouldn't be possible for at least 3 more months. Rikton thought this might be because Henri was human and he would ask him as much when he awoke. Two, it was normal for mother and child to have their auras in sync but never the child with the sire. Rikton watched for a little longer when Alak came over and sat next to him. Alak never one for small talk asked, "What are you planning for them?" he gestured towards his daughters. Rikton looked at his former student and saw a very uncharacteristic hard look in his eyes and said, "I am planning nothing. They are wonderful to study, and I am dying to see what happens next." Alak leaned in and spoke slowly making certain he was understood as he said, "If you, or Dirzune, move against them I will use what I have learned and we both know I can teleport them to the surface from here and you can't follow. I have lost 4 of my children I will not let you experiment on them, I made one deal and have paid for it with my children, cross them and remember what happened to the others in my class." Rikton knew Alak had killed 4 of his classmates, he also knew of Alak's deal with Eilistraee, of all his students Alak was the most skilled in the invocation arts and would be a deadly foe if pushed. Rikton felt a chill as he saw Alak smile as he looked at Rikton's children, at that moment he understood what Alak meant and how he felt. Rikton was certain that he would be free on the surface and in the greatest danger. Alak had a deal with a goddess who would see them the moment they were on the surface if not now. He knew one thing, studying Henri would teach him many things and supporting Dirzune would mean his death. He had won her heart many years ago, so why couldn't he win her over to leaving those three alone. Next for watch was Dirzune and Alak, although Alak's watch began before Dirzune's as Rikton woke his love he sat with her on watch as they talked. He looked to Alak and said using a Drow pet name for mistresses that were favored, "My vemon, I think this story is just beginning, remember in the book it said he would have champions. If we are going to the surface then reason states he would have champions that know the surface, would it not be in good service to Lloth to watch these champions before acting? We could learn about their skills and when we move on the surface as Lloth as commanded this information would be beyond value." Dirzune studied her love and what she loved was how he was always thinking and looking out for her and their children. She knew he would try and guide her, but a fool doesn't listen to wisdom and wisdom Rikton had. She could also see the worry in his eyes and as much as she knew she should take charge of this, she loved him and couldn't bring herself to she knew Lloth would torment her when she left this world for the next. Of all the things Lloth hated, love was the biggest offense of all; she had been taught that it was Lloth's love and the other goddesses' jealousy that cursed Lloth into her spider-like form. Dirzune in a moment of weakness stroked the cheek of her love and pulled him close enjoying the feel of him in her arms as she said, "You win this time, we will watch and all of us will be the eight eyes of Lloth. I promise I will leave the human alone, but know this; I will not help them either. I will protect my own and if they die, it is Lloth's will." Rikton enjoyed Dirzune's stroking of his hair, he wished they had some privacy to enjoy some nudging as he smiled remembering the story Dirzune told him about Henri. The next two days they traveled without hassles. Zilvra was out scouting ahead of the caravan. While Henri was still unconscious and the others stayed with the wagons, Belar kept a close eye on him and Dirzune. Henri finally awoke from his slumber as his chest burned from where the stinger had entered him and unlike the beatings with the whip he had taken the wound had scarred. He tried to sit up but his back felt tight and pain came from both his chest and his back, it felt like a bad case of sunburn on the surface and dull throb if he rested, when he moved the pain shot down his back and was a deep pain like a muscle after having worked out for the first time in months. Rikton had been watching Henri and his aura, he noticed that his magic was very weak and he seemed like he had pictured a normal human might look. He asked Alak if that was humans looked on the surface and he just nodded. Rikton walked over to a fidgeting Henri and offered, "We think the poison has hurt your abilities and with time they will come back. How do your wounds feel?" Henri explained as he studied the Olathni which felt like a ripe plum, he saw the look on Rikton's face and asked, "What exactly is this?" Rikton grimaced at the delicacy before him and said, "That is an Olathni a fruit only found in the wilds and from the look of it, prepared correctly. It is very hard to get these, in the cities a plantation of these would make for a very wealthy farmer. It is used in the making of our festival wine and aged for at least 5 years making it potent and tasty, I think this is a gift from your life bond enjoy." Henri took a bite and enjoyed the flavor as he finished his treat he asked, "What do you mean life bond?" Disposable Hero Ch. 02 Pt. 07 Rikton looked at him studying his reaction to the news before saying, "You and Zilvra are bound together for life, and she has a bit of your aura and you hers. I dare say you may live longer and her shorter, such things are known to happen, along with other things." Henri groaned at the fact that he just might have taken years off of Zilvra's life and added to the pressure of doing the right thing. He asked, "Can this link be broken? If so do you know how?" Rikton shook his head no and said, "Such a bond can only be forged by a priestess and Dirzune does not know that spell, it is used when we summon demons and that is only done with the high priestess and Intra present. The Counsel of Eight might know as well. If you want we can go back and ask them I am sure they wouldn't mind, much." Henri smiled at Rikton's joke and added, "I am sure they would be falling over themselves to help me, you don't mind a little pain, do you?" Rikton smiled, he liked this human. He was easy to talk to and didn't judge him like Belar and Zilvra. He hoped this peace would last. As if reading his thoughts Henri looked towards Belar and said, "Rikton I'm glad things went well while I was out, I know you and Dirzune are up to something so let me make this perfectly clear." He pointed towards Belar and continued, "I am going to give you a lesson in humans, first rule don't fuck with their families. Take me for example, she is carrying my child. If you harm her, you harm my child, you harm my child and you had better pray your goddess saves you because I will hunt you and yours down to the lowest pit of whatever hell you believe in to exact my revenge. I won't stop till you and anybody who knew you are dead. So plan carefully, because if I live I will not stop, if it meant destroying everything just to get my hands on you consider it done." Rikton looked at the guardian and could see no humor in his words, he was telling the truth. Did that mean he would forsake renewal just to have his vengeance? What would happen if he didn't start renewal? One thing was certain in his mind things could not continue as they had, he liked Henri and now he was certain that Henri would stop at nothing if Dirzune tried to take control. Henri was dangerous in the Foreverdark, with them unable to see on the surface and unused to the sounds and shadows; up there it would make him seem god like just because of what he knew about the surface. They needed him in the weeks and months to come of that he was certain, once on the surface he was certain Dirzune would lean on Henri, if he stuck around that is. He watched Henri as he walked off and pondered how this crazy alliance was going to hold together, he was certain that for the foreseeable future Henri was going to be leading a group that has never taken an order from any male. Maybe Henri would be a light shining in the darkness and show the Drowesses that a male can be much more than they allowed them to be. Rikton would do all he could from the shadows to help Henri and the dream that his son would be free of the restrictions he has lived in and in the process keep those he loved alive and safe. That night as they slept Belar returned the pistol to Henri's things and felt that draw to lay down next to him yet again as she thought, 'do you ever stop wanting to be around him so much.' The feeling returned this time stronger than before, she sighed in disgust and in defeat and curled up with Henri. The next morning Henri had asked Alak how long to the surface and was told that in another day and a half they would reach the surface. That in a few hours they would reach a series of columns and would teleport up closer to the surface. Sure enough two hours later they reached a clearing that had 12 columns that looked like they wwere made of marble. Rikton looked at them, touched them and asked Alak if they were made of Zawhianor, a rare metal that enhanced magic and was a vital component in making powerful magical weapons. Alak grinned like a proud papa and explained that without these gates it would take two weeks to get to the surface, with them it would take three days and that once they had teleported it would be the most dangerous for them because they would be very close to a dwarven stronghold and the likelihood of problems was much higher. They teleported, and Alak was drained by the trip, and rested for the rest of the day while they all stood watch. The following day Alak again teleported them, and again he rested and regained his strength. That morning Henri wanted to run to the exit of this nightmare land and into the sun, the day turned out to be a good one they had no delays. Alak told them that they would be on the surface tomorrow as they set up camp and rested that evening, Henri wondered if it was night or day and was looking forward to feeling the sun on his face. Henri found that by the time we set up camp, it would be about another day to reach the surface. He found sleep hard to come by, being this close to freedom he knew that on the surface he could easily lose them if they tried to break their word. He wasn't too worried about that, they needed him for now, and he knew he couldn't turn his back on people who needed help, let alone the mother of his child. 'Why does this always happen to me?' Henri thought of all the times he had helped when it would have been easier to walk away. Henri went into his pack and pulled out a command tablet, he was the only one who didn't want the data implant so they let him keep such outdated technology. He checked the power and looked at some of the files he had on building's building materials, he was thinking of using some of his pay to build a house for his kids and wanted to do some of the work himself. He checked the iPod and saw it had discharged, but knew he would be using it soon enough. He was dying to hear some music, he had once overheard some music coming from the main house but it wasn't the same. The next day seemed to take forever in Henri's mind. Anyway they wound up reaching the surface about three hours before dark. Henri stepped out into the sun for the first time in nearly 3 months; his eyes fought hard to see as he grabbed his sunglasses from his pack and put them on. He walked off and gathered some firewood and to see if he would notice if any of the berries were the same as his home. He found what looked like strawberries just green instead of red and enjoyed something fresh for a change as he came back to the cave where the Drow were hiding they told him that the sun was very painful for them. He brought the firewood, dug a pit and built a fire to help them keep warm from the breeze. From the trees he knew it had to be mid spring and it could be cold at night in the hills. He said to them, "Come on and get around the fire it is going to be cold tonight and you don't want to freeze." Zilvra asked, "Don't your eyes hurt being in the light?" It dawned on him that their eyes weren't going to adjust to light as easily as his would and wondered how long it would take for them to adjust. Henri walked over to Zilvra handed her his sunglasses and said, "Here put these on they'll help you see in the light." She looked at them cautiously and as she put them on, he chuckled at how silly she looked with them on. She said dejectedly, "These don't help that much but it is better." He replied calmly, "You're going to have to get used to the light sooner or later so you might as well get it over with." Henri held out his hand not sure how well she could see. Annoyed she said, "I can do it on my own." Swatting his hand away, she was amazed by all the colors she saw rich greens and the various shades of red from the setting sun against a blue sky. His mind was elsewhere as he thought about his ammo and the way his guns would draw unwanted attention. In a voice full of wonder at beauty she never knew existed she looked at the red sky saying, "I guess we have a lot to learn. Are you going to stay with us now that you are on the surface?" She hoped he would, but wouldn't blame him if he left them. Henri stopped and looked at them all and saw that they were all wondering the same thing. He shook his head once again thinking of all the times he had been drawn into something similar. Henri said hanging his head, "Yes, you got me here and I can't turn my back on people who need help." He sighed heavily but tried to put a bright spin on things saying, "SO, it looks like you're stuck with me until you're able to stand on your own two feet." Zilvra was smiling on the inside this human held no grudges to those who had treated him so poorly, she knew she wouldn't do the same if she was in his place. That was how Drow dealt with things. She asked him, "I don't think I could do the same in your place. How can you?" He stopped and thought about all the bad that had happened and thought about how he had gone from a slave fighting to survive and now he was leading the same people who had been his mistresses. This was no different than all the times he had taken command back home, he looked forward to passing these people off to somebody else soon just like he had dodged taking command even going so far as to get busted back to private to keep from having to lead others to their deaths. He looked up at the sky. He was not a very religious man by any stretch and had enough blood on his hands to guarantee a warm place in hell if he did. Henri said, "I guess god just made me that way. Besides, I have to set a good example of how people on the surface are. Otherwise you might run into some bad people and that could make a bad situation worse." Zilvra thought of her dream and what Eilistraee had said to her. She was right he couldn't turn his back on those who need his help. She knew they needed him while they got used to living on the surface. Her people were hated by all on the surface and he could help them build a good reputation if he stayed long enough. She shivered and got closer to the fire, fighting the pain of the firelight and signaled the others to come out of the cave. As dusk fell she removed his sunglasses looked at them and shook her head. His world was so strange to her and in all the time she had spent with him, and so was he for that fact. Zilvra's family came out of the cave and sat around the fire, he talked with Alak about where the nearest village was so they could buy some thing's that they would need. Rikton and Dirzune kept to themselves keeping a close eye on their children and the others. Henri was certain they were plotting, but what? After talking for a while, and with the watches set Henri saw how cold they all were and pulled out his sleeping bag opened it up and gave it to Zilvra's parents and told all of them to sleep with their backs to the fire to keep warm. Henri zipped up his coat, slept under the stars for the first time in months, and realized how much he had missed it. As he looked at the moons in the sky and the strange stars above his thoughts drifted to his family, he hoped they were all right and that they weren't worried about him. He wanted to ignore the truth in that sky; he was really on another planet and the one thought he kept pushing away was how to get home. He studied a map of the area that Alak had given him, settled in for the night, and got comfortable. Henri truly slept for the first time in months without a care. *********** As Belarbreena slept Gabriella stood over her and prepared the soul for entry as well as merging with the Drow soul already there. She smiles seeing Belar curl up next to Henri, she could see the child compelling her mother. She knew this child would be different because of what her father was planning and had to leave the knowledge of herself in case something happened to Henri this half-Drow would receive his codex. Gabriella's parents had agreed that his blood would always be the keepers of the codex to save them from doing this in the future. She had to be careful if not done correctly one soul or the other could be destroyed, setting the soul in place she watched as the red soul of a Drow and the yellowish white of a human merged into the new life. Gabriella knew she had to commune with this new soul so she created her own vision of an island paradise and pulled the new life into it. As the ball of energy hovered on the beach before Gabriella she spoke to it saying, "I am Gabriella messenger of the Great Creator and Great Destroyer. Your father is keeper of the codex and as such I must leave this knowledge with you, so that you are not shocked by being able to see me. Should anything happen to your father you will receive the codex as his first blood child." Gabriella watched as the ball of energy changed from an orangish glow to an orangish glow with a black swirl in it. As she went to leave her paradise, the ball of energy changed to a more liquid replica of Gabriella that shimmered like the ocean of this island paradise. Gabriella normally would leave no traces of her visit so this was new to her, she watched as the liquid replica became more solid and finally looked just like her. This new life looked at the angel for the first time trying to understand just what she was, this clone had understood what was said and tried to speak but no words came out, the clone tried to mimic Gabriella's facial expression not understanding what either were. Gabriella said, "Don't worry little one you will understand one day for now just grow and be happy. That is your father's wish, and mine as well." With that she sent the child back to her dream world that all children live in once they have a soul until the day they are born. What she didn't know is that this child was now curious about what she was and began to look around her dream world and saw her mother's memories and read them looking for answers. Belarbreena's child no longer looked like Gabriella instead she looked just like her mother; she had a racial memory the first of many.
