The ache in them told her she had been staring too long again. Pushing back from the desk, she dropped the book into the locked cabinet along with a spiral notebook with her discoveries. It didn't look like much, just scribbles and odd shapes, but it was five years of hard work for Keira. She stood up and touched the picture on the desk, as she always did. It was of her and Pops. They were in the hospital, the nurse had been kind enough to take it for her. Even though he looked like a shell of himself, all Keira saw was the strong, smart and capable man that had taken her in and gave her the best year of her life. She felt sadness wash over her at the memory. He died three days after the picture was taken. After the funeral, a woman showed up to his lawyers office. Keira walked in eyeing a thin blonde woman arguing with the lawyer. "So this is the woman that convinced my father to hand over his life savings to her?" she stated, her look of disdain making her features look thinner. She wore a black business suit, dark stockings and plain shoes. Everything about her screamed plain, unlike her father that was warm and full of life. Keira felt anger rise at her throat. "You never returned any of his letters, phone calls, nothing. He tried to contact you and your mother many times to no avail." She huffed and looked at the lawyer, dismissing Keira completely. "Look, I want what's mine! I know he had some money stashed away and it belongs to me!" The lawyer looked as if his smile was plastered onto his face as he said, "The documents here are legal and valid, all possessions go to Ms. Dawn as does the store, which I assume is what you are here for?" He looked past the woman to her. "I have all the paperwork here, all you need to do is sign." "Thank you," Keira said to him as she moved past the woman to sit down. She could feel the daggers the woman was staring into her. Her anger got the best of her and she turned around, "Your father was an amazing man. Smart, caring, loving. You came here today to receive some monetary reward. Well, there is none. I soon as cast it into the sea, then give any to you, you horrid woman. I found the letters he did receive. Every mean thing you ever spoken to him, every tear he shed because you refused his affection, blaming him for your mothers infidelity, your crummy life, even as he sent you both money every week. Leave this office and don't come back. You were never worthy of being his daughter!" The woman looked at her in fear, Keira thought it was her words, but what she didn't know was in her anger, her eyes had started to change. They started to glow, a dark swirling red. The woman had felt hotter, a sweat broke over her as she stared in horror, and the woman wanted to be away from her gaze. As soon as she was done speaking, she returned to normal, turning around to the lawyer, he saw nothing unusual. The woman hurried out of the room, her heels clicking down the hallway, panic and fear over taking her. Keira decided it was time for bed, letting old memories go. She needed to be up early for there was going to be an event for kids the next day at the store. After renaming the store to Pops, Keira had taken up a more active role in the community, offering programs to teach and help kids read, it had gotten so successful she was booked out most weekends. She had fallen into a restless sleep. Ever since she found out she could see things in the book, she has been having weird dreams. Flashes of things she couldn't make out, and a pair of aqua colored eyes. She sometimes woke up hot, covered in sweat. This night she woke to the smell of smoke, jumping off her bed she could see the charred outline of herself, her bed sheets gently smoking. What the hell is going on? she thought worriedly. Her mind went back to the book, she was obsessive with it, that she knew, but there was a strong pull, an urge to be with the book, to know its secrets. It's like it was apart of her, but in a puzzle locked away. Sighing, she headed to the little kitchen and put the kettle on. She checked the window, a bowl sitting on the ledge, to see if any strays had come tonight. The bowl was empty, licked clean, and Keira smiled. She had a fondness for animals and kids. It was a lack of a home life growing up, she figured. Stretching, she stepped out of her clothes and headed for a bath, while waiting for the water to boil. She looked at herself in the mirror. She looked average. Pale, long red hair, her arm was covered in tattoos. She had gotten it done a month after Pops passing. Blue green flames wrapped around her forearm, meeting a stack of books and a lions head with 'Beta Echo Zero' written each on the spine of a book. Her nose was pierced, something she had gotten when she was eighteen, much to Pops dismay. She wore two earrings in each ear, just little studs, blue twinkles peeking from her hair. She was average height. Skinny, she had small breasts and a bit of a butt, she shrugged at her reflection, no super model was here. Turning on the water, she set it to the highest setting. She couldn't stand cold water, and lately it made her feel sick. Getting in, she sighed as her skin met the heat of the water, relaxing her tense muscles. She felt lonely. Aqua eyes flashed before her again and she found herself playing with the piercing on her nipples, they were something new, and still a bit sore. Steam rose from her body as she focused her mind on the eyes, and suddenly she was in a room. The room was dark, she couldn't make out much, but of the sleeping form in the bed. A window was in front of it, casting light upon the sleeping area. It was dark outside, and had Keira noticed, she would have realized it was space, stars and darkness and a passing ship silently rolled by. But she was too focused on the breathing form as she moved closer, her feet quiet on the floor. The figure turned to lay on its back and its eyes opened. Aqua met brown, and Keira found herself crawling up to sit on him, she felt an overwhelming need she had never known before. Keira wasn't sexually active, even with herself. Growing up and watching her mom bring home a new man every week, she had learned fast about the dark dirty side of sex. It had affected her growing up as she had shied away from it ever since she came into womanhood. But now, all she wanted was to pull away the blankets and impale herself upon this man. He looked at her with surprise and lust, like she was the first woman he had ever laid eyes on. He wrapped his arms around her middle, drawing her down for a kiss. Their tongues met, and Keira felt lightheaded, forgetting to breathe. The man, giving her little pecks along her jaw, grazed one thumb around her nipple, through her nightgown, an over sized Metallica tee. His other hand cupped her bottom under her shirt, fingertips stroking, teasing at her panty line. Keira felt herself heat up, unable to control the emotions and desires in her, and she heard the man say no, pleadingly, and she was snapped back into the bath. Panting, she became aware that there was no more water, the tub was empty, a steam rising from her skin. Shakily, she got up and wrapped a towel around herself. Maybe I should buy a vibrator, she thought amusingly, trying to calm herself. It's the book, it has to be. Heading back to the kitchen, she tried to calm down and drink some tea. Her mind was rattled, going over the events that had just happened. As dawn broke over and the sun started to rise, Keira decided to go read the book again. Donning some clothes, she headed to the desk, determined to make sense of it all. ----- Greyson woke with a start, a sheen of sweat covering his face. He got up out of bed and padded to the bathroom to relieve himself as he tried to get over this latest dream. He had been having odd dreams lately. Snippets of a girl, red hair, brown eyes that had turned red tonight. She was in his bed, on top of him, the outer light shining on her, making her look like a ghostly goddess, her hot skin beckoning him to taste, nibble, and enjoy. Her intense heat was unreal, and Greyson had never felt as hard as he was when she kissed him. He shook is head to clear his thoughts, his black hair getting into his eyes. He was a good looking guy and he knew it, if he wasn't he wouldn't have lasted long in this line of work. Padding to the kitchen, he imputed the order for a beer and some food, as he decided he'd go to med bay in the morning to get himself checked out. The dream had felt too real, and he had to make sure nothing had mind linked with him. He had an implant that guarded him against that, as almost everyone did that was one of the Taken. It was for added security to owners, that there stock wasn't being mentally tampered with. As sunlight touched the station, Greyson got dressed and headed to the lower levels. This station was one of seven in the galaxy, and it was packed with all different kinds of life. It was sprawling and huge, different quarters housed different species and the middle section was all the offices, businesses and needs departments. Docking stations were at the top levels. Greyson entered the Dimiri quarter, seeking out the local doctor. He tended to avoid the Colony doctors, because they tend to treat the Taken worse than the lowest of the species. He was scanned over and everything seemed to be in working process until they reached his AMK, or Anti-Mental-Hack that was at his temple. "Strange," the on call doctor spoke, his many arms going every which direction as he looked over the notes, "Your readings are verys strange, and yous said you've beens havings odd dreams?" "Yes," Greyson responded, "This last one was intense." "Hmms," the Dimiri doctor spoke, even though there was a language transmitter for all races, the Dimiri's language ended up with added "s" to most words in the common Terra languages. Greyson was amused every time they spoke. "I'ms goings to reverse the implants outputs and sees ifs we can finds the source, please focus ons the parts ofs the dreams yous remembers." Greyson closed his eyes, his thoughts immediately going to her, the girl. He remembered the color of her hair, her scent, her smile and most of all the intensity of her eyes as they turned red, a look of lust and longing piercing into him. He felt himself pitch a tent but he ignored it, concentrating on her. He felt a pull at his gut, like his entire being was trying to drag something to the surface. He grabbed onto the examination table, knuckles white as she became more and more clear, to the point her could smell her. His face wracked with pain he gritted his teeth and pulled on the connection. ------ Keira was pouring over the book, the symbols were bright and fast swirling over the pages, she gave up in writing them down for they were too fast for her. Suddenly she felt a tingle in her stomach, and her body broke in sweat. His face came into her head, his face a mask of pain and concentration, for what she didn't know. Instinctively, she pulled away from him, something in her panicked and she willed him away. It wasn't working. She placed her hands upon the pages of the book, why, she did not know, and suddenly she felt power coursing through her, watching in some form of horror as the symbols crawled up her arm and coated her skin completely, as Keira screamed, head thrown back, her body ablaze. ------ Greyson gave one final yank and was jarred from his connection by the doctor screaming. The doctor was on the floor, thrown back as a smoldering wreckage was in the middle of the room, destroying the doctors work table. In the middle of it stood the girl from his dreams, her hair and eyes ablaze, symbols glowing on her skin, she wore no clothes and Greyson thought she was the most erotic, beautiful creature he ever saw. She looked directly at him as she spoke, her voice echoing as it was not just hers, but many at once. "The first of Five has awakened, Drackon-El has been unleashed. Keeper of the Flame, may you prepare for war." The light of her went out at once and she passed out on the floor. Greyson and the doctor shared a look as the doctor rose slowly. "Wells, now yous know what was on the other sides." Book of Flames Ch. 03 The aftermath was intense. Colony police came and questioned Greyson. They woke up the girl, and she looked around confused. Greyson offered his jacket for her to cover up with and unconsciously they both seemed to draw closer together. The girl, Keira, as he found out her name, was from Terra, or as she has known it, Earth. After repeating what she had told him, the police soon were met with the higher ups, Colony military, grey uniforms with many badges symbolizing how serious this actually was. They escorted Greyson and Keira through the levels until they reached military head quarters. Buzzed in, they followed down winding hallways until they reached a guarded section. Keira couldn't read the sign above the door so Greyson helpfully whispered "Level 6 Clearance only, all trespassers shot on sight." He squeezed her hand gently as they walked in. They corralled them into a small room. It looked grimy and bare. Keira and Greyson sat down on the only two chairs that were in the room. Keira hugged the jacket tight as a doctor brought a silver jumpsuit for her to get in to. Greyson held up the jacket to give her some privacy from the many faces, but couldn't help but peek at her smooth skin. "We need to examine her, to get her readings and see if she really is one of the Five," one of the excited doctors said. He looked at Keira like she was meat, not a person, and that made their skins crawl. "This is going to be exciting!" He reveled a small ball that twisted open and emitted a blue light and a hum. It scanned over Keira and a hologram screen popped up from the top, as the doctor recorded notes. The military guys spoke up finally. A pompous looking blob came forward, blue skinned with many rolls, he had four eyes and two antennae sticking out from his forehead. Gathering himself up he eyed Keira while speaking to Greyson. "I am General Kit-Thar-Ru of this station, Delta Orion. So you've been having dreams and somehow pulled this woman into the doctors office?" "Yes," Greyson spoke, "I've been having visions of her and somehow she is now sitting next to me." He felt pressure on his hand and realized Keira was squeezing it. A small smile escaped him and she smiled back. He was dazzled by her beauty and something primal inside him wanted to protect her. He stroke his thumb over her knuckles as the General spoke. "Who are you, girl, and where do you come from?" Keira looked confused, "I don't know what you're saying." She looked to Greyson for help and he chimed in, "She doesn't have an implant, she doesn't understand what you are saying." The General got upset. "Now listen here, if she can talk to you she can talk to me. How come she can understand you?" "Because I speak Terran." Greyson simply stated giving him a dumb look. "How about you get someone in here that does so we can move this along?" "Now you listen here Taken!" The General shouted, his face turning from blue to pink, "I'm the one in charge here and I want to know why one of the Elements is on my station and why its connected to trash like you!" Greyson felt angry and wanted to just punch the General in his many folds. Suddenly the doctor emitted a yip, his sphere beeping then exploding and Greyson turned to see Keira holding the General by his throat, up in the air, unbelievably as he out weighed her three times over. Her eyes were glowing red and a faint outline of the symbols could be seen on her skin. "Calm yourself," a figure said approaching the group. "She responds to your emotions, her control is little since she just came into power, and so you must control yourself." Greyson looked upon the newcomer, calming himself down at the presence before him. Keira calmed down as well and dropped the General. She sat tiredly back down and looked at the creature. He reminded her of Yoda, a character in a movie series she loved. He was small, green, and had a wise appearance. He looked at them warmly, ignoring the General and his men. Reaching out he grabbed Keira's hand and spoke,"This must be a confusing time for you. How about you tell us what happened on your side of things so we can help you understand." Turning to the General that was still sprawled out on the floor, rubbing the purple bruise on his neck he said, "This girl is a newly made Elemental, and your bright idea is to shove her into a tiny room and threaten her like she was a young hoodlum Grey? If you cared about your station so much you would have thought better!" He shook his head and waved a hand at the guards, "I am going to take her to the gardens, I assume there will be no issue with this?" Everyone shook their heads no and Keira wondered just who she was talking to. "Come," he spoke, placing her hand on his arm patting it gently, "Let us talk in a more relaxing place." They followed him out of a maze of hallways and back into the main opening of the level. He led them to the elevators and both were surprised at Keiras oohing and ahhing over the sight before her as they reached the top level. They both were used to the massive view of the station, the markets and housing below them, so through her eyes, they both got a renewed sense of appreciation. Keira looked at Greyson wide eyed. "I can't believe I'm in space!" He chuckled and kissed her temple, "Just wait until I take you out into the Beta Cluster." Keira spied the creature chuckling and shaking his head slightly. She blushed and pulled away from Greyson, embarrassed, as the elevator doors opened to reveal the new level they were on. She couldn't help but gasp at the sight, her hand seeking Greyson's again. The garden was awashed in a blue glow. Pink leaf trees greeted them, white bark covering the huge branches and flowers of all kinds were planted in all types of containers. Strange bird like creatures sang tunes as squirrels ran around the pathway. He guided them to a bench and they all sat down. Keira noticed a lions head in the middle of the back and grazed her fingers over it. "Speak child, and tell me of your story," he simply asked looking at her and gently patting her knee. "I will answer all your questions to the best of my ability." Keria stared out into the distance as she told them her life story, leading all the way up until this point in time. She skipped the dream her and Greyson shared but the creature gave them a knowing look. Afterwards she looked at the creature and asked, "Who are you?" He smiled kindly at her and replied, "I am Samuel, in the Terra language. I am the last elder to rule these star systems. I have been ruling for the last 758 years." He chuckled at Keira's expression. "I think this would be easier if you had a Dat-ta bot to refer to." "We can get her one," Greyson spoke up, "What is my roll in this?" he asked the Elder. "You are a Keeper of one of the Elements," he spoke facing Greyson, "It is a burden most wish to not have, especially with a young elemental such as her. You are going to need training as does she or else the power can become, much, and addicting." "Like Drackon-El," Greyson stated. "Yes very much so," turning to Keira he added, "Drackon-El was a Keeper, much like Greyson here. Camuria was a talented Elemental. Her power of Wind was extraordinary. Her and four others brought peace and balance to the galaxy." He sighed and pulled out a disk. It projected a hologram that showed images much like a picture slide. Back before humans came about there was a galactic war. There was no order among the tribes and chaos ensued. Wars, plague, mixed breeding and slavery ran rampant. Five of the strongest species at the time got together to perform a ritual. They would gift their strongest warriors each an elemental power. And so they don't become greedy and lustful, a Keeper was chosen to keep them balanced. With this they restored order to the galaxy for many centuries. The Colonies were developed as were the seven common stations most races moved to. Life was prosperous and good. Then a war broke out, so brutal it wiped out an entire race. "The Nordic DelVarie War," Greyson commented. "Yes, very good," Samuel spoke, nodding at him. "The war was underhanded and brutal. Led by two of the most deceitful races, commonly referred to now as the Greys and DelVarie, they slaughtered the Nordics and took over their worlds. Some escaped and one had made it to Terra, your earth, to hide out. They had carried the book with them." "Meanwhile the Five as they're referred to, fought to restore order, they succeeded but it came with a price. Drackon-El was tempted by all the power he saw, and he brutally killed Camuria stealing her power, he chased down other Elementals and slaughtered them all, and their Keepers, consuming them. He searched for the other four books, but they were hidden away once word of Camuria's death had spread." "All that power was too much for a single person, it drove him mad. After the rest of the galaxy banded together, we were successful in stopping him. Myself and the other Elders performed a ritual and he was stripped of his power and sent into stasis, locked way in one of the dark galaxies. He could not be destroyed as he had become the direct conduit of all the energy. The Greys and DelVarie had helped him with his quest for power and so they were stripped of all rights and privileges and scattered among the stars." "The books were sent to different places for safe keeping. Some have been lost to time, others have been found but there secrets remained locked, until now. Now that you've opened the power and opened the book, Drackon-El has been awakened from his slumber, and will come searching for what he believes is his." "So what do we do now?" Greyson asked squeezing Keiras hand. "We prepare for war." -- They stepped into the dark dwelling that Greyson lived in. After the talk with Samuel, he escorted them to get Keira her own Dat-ta bot and some clothes and other items for her. Greyson offered for her to stay with him, knowing this had to be a lot to take in, as he had gone through something similar before, many years ago. Samuel wished them a good night and reminded them that he would be back in the morning to take them to the High Counsel to inform the rest of the galaxy of the news. Tired, they both stumbled in and Greyson turned on the lights. "Are you hungry?" He asked gently touching her elbow. "I can order whatever you want." Keira shook her head, "Not really, I'm just trying to process all of this. One minute I was at home and now I'm in space, and have started a war." She frowned deeply and looked at the Dat-ta bot. It looked like a little friendly robot. It appeared and disappeared and made a little back flip when Samuel explained to her everything it can do. It was basically a space cell phone that floats and has a personality. She sat on what looked like a couch, it was all smooth lines facing a screen and she quietly commanded the robot for information. Trying to cram centuries of knowledge into her brain. Greyson sighed and thought it best to give her some space and let her adjust on her own. He went to the kitchen area and imputed a order of chicken wings and a coke. He sat on the stool and ate quietly thinking over his own situation. He had read up on the history of the galaxy when he was first taken, so he knew how serious this was, and if he didn't Samuel had definitely made sure. He had pulled Greyson to the side and urgently informed him to not act upon his feelings towards the girl. "Most Elementals and their Keepers feel some sort of pull, a means to stay together. Some have the opposite effect and they can not stand to be in the same room. Yours I'm afraid is the first, and it is very intense. You must take it slow, for the both of you. You can choose to ignore the feeling, the pull. That is your choice. But if you decide to pursue it I must warn you to wait until your training is complete. Raw emotions can be... messy." Staring at her, watching her nose wrinkle in concentration, he had already known which path he was taking. He had his share of woman, human and other. But that was sex, his job, what kept his place and kept him from ending up in the slums. This was different. Taking a swig of coke, he watched her get up and smiled as she headed his way. "You doing okay? Do you need me to explain anything?" he smiled at her and nudged the food and her own drink to her. "You should eat something." She hesitated then slowly ate a chicken wing, a small moan escaping her, she devoured the rest, much to his amusement. Blushing she drank her coke as they just looked at one another, it felt natural, like they had been here before. Wiping her face she asked, "Do you have a shower?" "Yeah, right over there," he pointed to the corner of the room near his bed. He got up as she followed him as he slowly imputed the controls of the shower, as she watched intently. "Hot or cold?" "Hot. I can't stand cold." "You too, huh?" He gave her a bright lopsided grin and she stared at him. They got lost in each others eyes, brown and aqua, until he cleared his throat and said, "Leave the jumpsuit here I'll take care of it when you get in." Greyson promptly made a beeline for the kitchen area and kept his back turned to give her some privacy. He heard the zipper of the suit as she stepped out of it and into the shower. The image of her naked flashed in his mind and he tried to control his thoughts. Turning around slowly he gathered her suit and put it in the laundry and placed her new clothes by the panel. Sitting on the couch, he flipped through the channels trying to distract himself from the beautiful girl that was now naked in his shower. -- A sound like glass shattering disturbed the dead silence, the darkness was shattered with pieces of glass like crystals as a figure slumped out of the shell it was in. Other figures broke free of their confinement stirring awake. The figure rose, dark and tall, eyes void of color, it grabbed one of the beings and bit into it tearing the skin, blood floating out into the air. Others coward at its feet as they became more awake, kicked aside by a second figure as it kneeled in front of the first. Drackon-El looked down on his loyal Second, a strong DelVarie warrior named Thuruum-Geth, his scaly skin shining in the dim light, broken horns going down his spine a sign of the war he had fought bravely in, protecting his Master until they were frozen by the High Guard. Looking up at Drackon-El, he awaited his orders. Drackon-El cast the body aside, stretching, His black pointed armor creaking from being in the same position for so long. His wide eyes looked upon his remaining subjects as all kneeled at his feet. He gathered his hair back and sniffed the air as he was seeking something, concentrating he got a flash of a girl, in a stream of water, red hair hiding her face. "One of the new Elements has awakened and has broken our slumber," his deep voice reverberated through the land, as his Second rose to stand by his side. "They thought me rid of, that stripping me of my powers would be enough, but they were wrong. And now, some girl has received my gift, and others shall awaken. We shall set out to concur these Elementals and give me back what was once mine!" A cheer broke out that was silenced swiftly by his Second's sword being raised, the clear red flame brightening the room and casting shadows over the glass like spikes protruding from all sides. "We will not fail this time. We will destroy all that are in our path until I am fully restored to my power. None can stop me for I am Drackon-El Ruler of all Elements!" He let out a ungodly roar, as the crystals around them all shattered and the sky was revealed. "Retrieve my ship," He ordered Geth, as he took a female Grey into his arms. Biting into her neck her screams of agony made his cock stir as his mind went to the red headed child in the water. --- Greyson got up off the floor, the blinding pain receding him as the vision he just witness disappeared. Half crawling to the shower, his only concern was of Keria. Opening the panel he found her crying on the floor, curled up in a ball, her eyes opening, bright red, with fear plastered on her face. The shower making her hair stick to her hiding half of her face. Picking her up, he covered her with a towel and set her on the couch, he ran to the innercom link, and summoned Samuel, stating it was urgent at once. Going back to her, he sat next to her gently. She was visibly shaking clutching the towel. Symbols glowed brightly on her skin as she looked at him. "Did you s-s-see him?" Greyson just nodded. "He, he, he saw me." she whispered. "He filled my mind with images, he's gonna, he's gonna.." Greyson felt a heat fill his chest as he wrapped his arms around her holding her tight. She watched in fascination as her symbols coated his skin, going from red to gold, as they passed between them. "He's going to die this time Keira. He won't win again. I won't let him get his hands on you." He brushed her hair away, cupping her face. Her red eyes met his now gold ones and in that instant, slowly as if time had stopped, they leaned in closer together, lips touching, they kissed. Book of Flames Ch. 04 They broke off the kiss at the sound of knocking at the door. Keira rushed to put on clothes and Samuel greeted them, urgency in his voice as he spoke, "I have gathered the Council, we meet at once." They followed him up to the docking levels, giant ships bigger than anything Keira had ever seen were docked. Smaller ones darting between the giants at a speed Keira thought unsafe. Some coming in for a landing and others leaving. As they walked, a doctor escorted them as Samuel listened to the vision they saw of Drackon-El. His face grew more grim as Keira quietly told him what visions he had sent to her head, quietly enough so that Greyson couldn't hear. They entered into a craft. It was sleek looking and reminded Keira of an airplane. They got strapped into seats as the doctor worked on Keira. He looked human, kind face, he wore glasses which he kept pushing up his nose. Keira studied his hands, which were webbed and he shyly licked his lips, his tongue darting out, it looked as if it was a snakes. He injected her with a substance, it looked like mercury and then turned her head, moving her hair, she felt a weird sensation, pressure at her temple and the doctor checked her pupils and response time and then he nervously cleared his voice and spoke, "Can you understand me?" "Why yes I can," She responded, pleasantly surprised. "I have a language implant now?" The doctor nodded looking relieved. "I wasn't sure if your body would accept it. You are the first Terran Elemental that we have had. Terran's generally can accept all implants, but I wasn't sure if your powers would reject it." He continued on adding enhancements that were needed as Keira looked around the ship. It was a sleek gray color, the seats were molded black that seem to conform around her body as she sat in it. There was screens along the front wall, glowing with information, charts and graphs of the ship and the course it was taking. She strained her eyes to read the neon writing but gave up. Samuel sat across from her and Greyson sat off to the side, as Keira felt a pang of sadness in her gut, wondering if she did something wrong. Soon she felt the ship move, a dull roar and a screeching metal noise as it was raised off the ground. It was smooth as if they weren't moving, only being able to tell from the viewing ports on the sides of the ship that showed them going up high above the station and through the protection field. Then in the blink of an eye she was in space. Her nose was pressed to the portal next her as she looked out into the sea of stars, much to the enjoyment of everyone on board. The doctor finished his job, checking her vitals once again. He smiled warmly at her, and for a moment, she missed Pop. "Everything seems to be in working order. I installed all the necessary implants, think of them as modern day preventive shots. You now have an AMK, Language Translator, your vitals are logged into the UHS, err, Universal Heath System, The nan-tech cleaned out any and all diseases and upgraded your immune system. You should be able to understand almost all languages and able to read most scripture from the most common races. Your body should be able to adjust to gravity fluctuations with the GBP, and your eyes are protected from most extreme light rays, just don't go looking directly into any stars, okay?" Keira nodded turning to the doctor to thank him. He sat back down still recording things into clear plastic looking sheet, moving different things around with the flick of his fingertips. Samuel cleared his throat bringing her attention back to him, he handed her the book, it felt like an old friend coming back to her, a piece of her life brought into this crazy world. "I retrieved this from the rubble in the doctors office. You are going to need it. You must learn from it, quickly I'm afraid. And you must not let Drackon-El get his hands on it. You see, we were only able to take him down because he did not have the books. To truly own the gift of an Elemental you need to have bonded with the book. He was so consumed with power he had over looked that and that was his downfall. This time though, he knows of this, and will not stop until he has the power and the books." Keira swallowed hard and ran her fingers over the symbol on the cover. "I don't know if I'll be able to stop him. I don't even know what's going on with myself." She frowned tears forming in her eyes, "I wish I just left this stupid thing alone." Samuel shush her, "It was destined to happen. It is a miracle really, that the book had found its next champion, seeing as that it hadn't been open in a century. Out of all the humans in the world, it chose you. I know its a burden to take on, but at the same time, you should feel pride. You are the only Terran Elemental." "All I feel is scared," Keira bit on her lip nervously. "I have all this power, and this huge threat now. I went from a bookstore owner to something out of a comic book." "But isn't that how all heroes are born?" Keira looked at Greyson surprised. He offered her a small smile as he turned to look out of his own port. "We're almost there." Keira looked out and saw them hovering around a planet. It looked orange and green, swirling clouds in the atmosphere. The ship began its decent, passing through the clouds they broke into a clear orange sky, lush green and purple ground greeted them as the ship traveled toward a city. It was golden, tall statues greeted them, they looked regal, pointing out of the city. Keira could see tall golden spirals, and ivory looking buildings. Ships buzzed around and she could faintly see people, the city felt alive and busy. A knot formed in her throat as they entered into the docking bay, she was nervous as to just what awaited her. They gathered out of the ship, the doctor giving her a warm good bye as they were escorted by tall golden soldiers through the building and out into the city streets. The soldiers carried a weird staff looking object, blue light crackling from the tip. They wore full plated armor with helmets that had wings attached to the side. There were all kinds of beings in the city, most stopping to stare at them passing by. Some children waved and Keira smiled at them, much to their excitement. She could hear them whisper, she caught words like, counsel, elemental, terran, war, and hope. Samuel patted her arm gently as they reached a tall looking structure. It had golden spirals piercing the orange sky and Keira gasped as she stepped inside. The main opening was huge, statues ran along alcoves in the walls, they looked to be made of some sort of marble. Long intricate patterned rugs met with rich red looking furniture. A fountain stood in the middle. Three headed lions rested in the middle of it as Samuel stopped to rub their heads. "It is a custom here," he whispered to her, "These animals, know as the Jargan, represent the city and its people, you will see many scattered about. Guardians, they must be shown respect to be accepted in." Keira gently rubbed the mane of one of the statues heads and jerked back when she saw it blink. Samuel just offered her a sly smile as they headed into an oval room. It was big with marble pillars in the middle. Creatures of all kinds were situated around the center, seats going higher up almost like an arena. And Keira was the show. As soon as they stepped in the room went quiet and all eyes were on her. Samuel motioned for her and Greyson to sit. Keira did but Greyson leaned against one of the pillars, looking as if he didn't want to be there at the moment. Keira looked away from him with a pang of hurt in her chest. Samuel spoke, addressing the many beings there. "High Council, I have called this meeting to order in the utmost urgency. Drackon-El has been awoken and we have a war on our hands. This young Elemental has a burden to carry now, one so heavy many of us would not be able to lift it. I beseech you to look for the other missing books and their possible Elementals. Our lives, our worlds, and that galaxy as a whole its at risk. We know he will not stop until all power is his again, and if he achieves it, it will mean our deaths." The council broke out into an uproar. Another blue blob looking creature spoke above the rest. Gathering himself up he asked, "And what proof do you really have that he is back, I thought you elders had stripped him of all powers? What proof of it is that this girl is really an Elemental or that there are others? How do you think we can find the books, years after they've been lost! This is your doing, and not of the Councils." Samuel went to speak when Keira stood up. "I didn't ask for this, this book chose me," she raised the book above her head for the Council to see. "I was happy with my simple life, it was quiet, predictable, a bit lonely at times but I could not complain. Now I am some sort of conduit to some old power and I'm expected to save a galaxy and fight a being that's older than my great grandmother!" She let the anger sweep over her as she looked upon the masses, her skin glowing, feeling hot. She felt Greyson get closer to her, she could feel all the heart beats in the room, smell the fear on there skin, it felt amazing, but she restrained herself, not wanting to go over the edge. "You need to find the books, you need to protect your people, and you need to hope I learn what I need to fast enough so maybe, just maybe we will all see tomorrow!" A burst of flames came off of her as Samuel jumped back. Greyson threw his arms around her but it was too late. The book opened suddenly and swirling ropes of flame coated Keira and threw Greyson, Samuel and the Council all back. In a flash Keira was gone, the book falling to the floor. The Council slowly recovering, started talking over one another. At the middle in the bottom row sat an old looking purple creature. It had a long neck and long ears. It banged its hand against the walls edge, an echoing boom silencing the room. "I have seen enough. we shall search for the missing books. All major worlds will be informed of the situation, their armies at the ready. I will not sit by and watch as he devours worlds and kills our family and friends. The elders sacrificed themselves to cage that monster away." He looked at Samuel, "Your wife died to protect all of us. Her death and the lives of others will not be in vain. We will help your Elemental, once shes back from the Plains Trials, if she makes it back. We will fight. And we will die with honor." Agreement broke out from most of the Council as others objected to deaf ears. Samuel picked up the book, looking at Greyson. "It is settled. As for Keira, I did not want her to take her journey without some guidance, I did not think her outburst would have triggered the book. We will see if she is able to master her powers." Greyson glanced at the chaos of the Council then back at Samuel, "For the galaxy, and the fate of everyone, I hope so." ---- Keira felt herself being pulled and landed with a thud. She got up slowly, a figure in front of her. "Pop?" She asked, looking at him. She could see through him, like he was ethereal, just made of flames. He smiled that old familiar smile as Keira held back tears. He looked young, like in the pictures. "No, my child, I am not Richard," he spoke with many voices echoing as one. "I am the spirit of the Flame, I hold all past Elements, their essence, imprints of what they were. I chose this form because it is the most comforting to you." "What am I doing here?" She asked looking around. It was hard to make out anything, swirling orange mist and darkness met her gaze. "Every Elemental goes through a trial. A test, to see if they are worthy of holding such a power. Think of it as a safety precaution. Even though the book chooses well, sometimes the person is not able to handle the power given." "So what is the test?" She asked as Richard side stepped to reveal a wall of fire. "A maze, as your people know it." The wall of fire opened and he motioned for her to enter. "In there you will face your power, your fears, and we will see if you are able to truly be an Elemental." She started to walk forward but he stopped her. "If you do not wish to carry this gift, do not enter. We will send you back, your powers will be stripped and you will have no memory of any events after opening the book." Keira paused, debating. She could just forget all of this and go back into her simple life. Unknowing of just how big the universe really was. Of the war taking place, the countless lives at stake. Inhaling to calm her nerves she stepped forward into the maze, she couldn't look back. Not now. Walking along she touched the walls, they felt cold like ice and she yanked her hand away. She tried to pay attention to which way she was going, but she kept running into dead ends and having to turn around and back track. She felt like she was going in circles. She started feeling tired, her eyes kept closing shut and she stumbled into the wall, jerking awake, feeling like ice water was dumped on her. Turning around she was no longer in the maze, but a field. There was a figure in front of her, it was her mother. She was on top of a John, straddling him. She was moaning, riding him up and down. Cooing into his ear and kissing him. Keira was six again, peeking into her mother's bedroom. She watched as the guy threw her off and re-positioned her, taking her from behind while smacking her behind roughly. The bed creaked under their weight and Keira looked on in horror as tears ran down her mother's face as the John used her. She burst into the room this time instead of running to her bedroom. She stopped when she saw the tripod, the drugs, the empty bottles. There was another man in there as well. Watching the small screen of the video camera attached to the tripod. The man grunted loud and finished inside her mother as she rolled over, panting. The guy watching through the screen slapped his knee and said in a warped voice, "Hot damn Emma Jean! That's going to get us a pretty penny!" Cackling he popped out the cassette and pocketed it. The John caught his breath and spat on her mom. He rubbed it into her face and wiped his hand, walking through Keria and walking out. Her mother got up and kneeled in front of the man. She spoke, her raspy voice showing the years of chain smoking. "Frank, baby, how much am I going to get for it?" She smiled up at him rubbing the crotch of his pants. He unzipped them and pulled his fleshy cock out smacking her face with it before grabbing her hair. "You'll get enough to feed that kid of yours, and maybe some blow to go with it." She made slurping sounds as he forced more of himself into her mouth. "You know in a couple years, that kid of yours is going to be a fine and legal piece of ass. Maybe we can do a mother daughter video. How would you like to see me stick it in her and make her squeal you little who-" He screamed suddenly, trying to get her off of him, and finally succeeded, showing Keira a bloody mess where his dick was. Her mom spat blood on the floor and wiped her face. "Keira is off limits and you know it, asshole." She didn't flinch when he smacked her and stormed off. "Ya ain't getting anything now, you bitch!" Keira came closer to her and was startled when her mother looked up at her. "Mom..." She said looking at her. Her mom looked at her, and then back down to the floor. She got up and went through her, going to the dresser, getting out a line of coke. "Oh mom, you never had a chance did you? I guess you did the best that you could. You kept those guys away from me at least. I'm sorry mom, I'm sorry I was such a brat to you. I should have helped you break your habits, get you out of this life. No wonder why you left." Suddenly everything dissolved in a shimmer of fire and she was back in the maze. Trudging on she started to hear weird noises and began to think she was not alone. Panic over took her and she started running. Looking back she saw the maze closing, fire overtaking the path. She ran as fast as she could until she reached a dead end. "No," she gasped turning around. The fire stopped in front of her, forming into a monster. She backed into the wall, ice chilling her back making her shiver. It looked like a minotaur, but with long fangs and long nails. It breathed fire, staring at her. It lunged and she dodged, rolling. She ran past it, the maze appearing again, shrinking against her, chilling her arms as she ran on, trying to outrun the monster behind her. Looking back she suddenly fell, it felt like a tunnel, or a well. She kept falling, her hair whipping into her eyes, not knowing when the end could come. She threw her arms out to the sides of the walls and suddenly she was in a room. It was dark, just the light of the moon through the window shone through, highlighting a bed, dresser, books and some toys. There was a figure in the corner, facing away from her. It was a little girl, she was wearing a night gown, her red hair shining in the moonlight. As she came closer to the little girl, she turned around. She realized it was herself. She was holding a book. Keira reached out to her and she smiled taking her hand. They starred at each other for a moment, matching smiles on their faces. Suddenly, the door behind them opened and hands snatched the younger Keira, dragging her into darkness. Keira took off after her, running through the darkness, hearing her younger self scream. She burst through the darkness and into a room. It was blood red, limbs covering the walls, body parts, hands grabbing her, other limbs protruding in a writhing mass of flesh. She ran through, twisting out of the grasp of the limbs and into a garden. It looked peaceful and serene, a waterfall gently flowing. She didn't trust it, her nerves frayed. A figure sat on the bench, she approached it slowly, coming around to face it, realizing it was Greyson. He smiled at her, holding out his hand. She slowly took it, and he pulled her to sit down. Looking into her eyes, he brushed her hair away, leaning in to kiss her. She couldn't help herself and leaned into the kiss, savoring the taste of him. All thoughts of danger went away as she kissed him back passionately. His hand reached into her hair as he deepened the kiss. She lost herself to his embrace just as he suddenly yanked her hair, biting her lip making her cry out. She opened her eyes to see Drackon-El. He licked the blood off of his lips as he plunged his hand into her chest pulling out her heart. She struggled against him in horror, as he bit into the still beating muscle. Darkness threatened to consume her and she suddenly felt the touch of heat. She grabbed onto it, feeling the anger, disappointment and fear in her build until it burst, and she was coated in flames. Drackon-El screamed as the fire consumed him, and he disappeared into ash. Keira sank to her knees exhausted, wondering what would come next. She felt calm, just waiting for the next test. A hand on her shoulder made her jump, Richard looked down at her smiling. Past him she could see shapes of others, standing behind him. Past Elementals accepting their new champion. "Rise child," he said lovingly. "You have passed the test. The power now belongs to you. Use it wisely, protect the innocent, keep the balance. May you defeat those that wish to corrupt the balance." She looked at him and suddenly he changed. He was the Pop she knew. He smiled at her and hugged her, she inhaled his familiar scent as he whispered to her, "I'm proud of you, daughter. I knew you were special from the moment you walked into my store looking for more than a book." She pulled back and smiled at him and he kissed her forehead as everything went white. Book of Flames Ch. 04 ---- She awoke in a bedroom. Wind was whipping the curtains gently as the quiet sounds of night encompassed the room. Keira got up slowly holding her head, a dull throbbing pain making her wince. She looked around the room and noticed a note on the table in the corner by some couches. She got up slowly, feeling sore all over and picked it up. Keria, You passed the test, thankfully. I apologize for not warning you of the Plain Trials. I am most pleased and glad you have passed. The Council had decided to find the books and put the Colony planets on high alert. We have been asked to stay here, for they want to host a ceremony in your honor. After that, the Council has decided to see if you can locate the other Elementals. I will explain further tomorrow. As for now please rest and recover. You have been through a lot for a single person. If you feel the need to talk to me, or Greyson, we are residing down the hall from you, on the right. Sleep well, Samuel Keria put the note down. She wandered a bit around the room, there was a display of fruit and water. She poured herself a drink and decided to try some fruit. She picked up something that looked like a purple orange and bit into it. It was extremely sour, the juices smelling foul and she spat it out into a napkin, gagging. She decided to skip the fruit. She headed to what looked like a wardrobe, there was a mirror in front of it. She peered at the woman looking back at her. She hardly recognized herself. Her eyes shone a swirling red and she could see the outline of symbols, looking almost like scars, covering parts of her skin. She took off her clothes to get a better look. The symbols swirled up over her hips, across her lower abdomen and up her sides curling slightly over her breasts. More symbols went from her cleavage to the sides of her neck, up into her hair line, meeting with symbols going down her spine. She brushed her fingers over them, jumping at how sensitive they really were. Opening the wardrobe she rifled through the clothes, they were light weight, fitting for the warmth of this planet, she spied a light blue dress, and tried it on. It had a snug collar that draped the clothing to the sides of her arms, baring her shoulders. The back was open, a wide 'v' ending just above her butt, showing off her back symbols. It was gathered slightly under her breasts, and had a skirt with slits running up to her hips on both sides. It flowed over her body, the wind making the skirt ruffle. She felt sexy and beautiful with it on. She could just make out her nipples in the dim light, the little bumps of her jewelry drawing the eye. She made a decision quickly and headed out the door and down the hallway. Two rooms were at the end and she tried to figure out who was in which one. As she came closer she heard muffled noise, it sounded like a cat. Coming closer to one of the doors, she could hear creaking noises and the sound of mewing. The door wasn't closed completely, so she opened it slowly, curiosity getting the best of her. In the bed, she could see two shapes, smooth white back, covered by slightly furred arms, as it dawned on Keira just what was happening. She heard the mewing pants as they picked up speed and the figure underneath yowled, scratching the back of the figure on top. He raised his head, brows furrowed as he met his own release as Greyson's eyes met Keira's. Her eyes widened and she stumbled back and ran down the hall. She was a mess of emotion and confusion as she ran down flights of stairs, past surprised people and out into the street. She kept running until she felt the energy die down, leaving a dull ache in her chest. She found herself near a dock, the three moons illuminating the water as it lapped at a barrier wall. She walked to the edge and sat down, the urge to cry welling in her chest. She didn't understand why. She felt misplaced blame, wondering why he rejected her. She thought maybe it was fear or he held a grudge against her. Even though she felt a strong connection to him, maybe he didn't want it. Maybe he didn't want her. She looked at the reflection in the water, her tears dripping into the vast dark ocean and saw another reflection beside her. Turning she looked at him. "Hello," he spoke quietly, "I saw you running, Baelea, and I followed you to make sure you were okay." He bowed his head slightly as Keira looked him over. He had white hair, intricately braided, his ears were pointed, his eyes were a really pretty green, big and almond shaped. He looked like a elf. He wore the golden armor of the city. It shone in the moonlight. "Who are you?" she asked wiping her eyes. He offered her a cloth, it felt like silk and had a pattern of a tree and moons. "I am Arritheon, you may use Ari if it is easier." He smiled at her gently, "May I ask why an Elemental is running through the streets crying?" She looked back into the water, biting her lip, "It was just a miscommunication of sorts, I was mistaken about someones feelings." "Ah," he said, offering his cloak to her, "It is a bit cold out here, please take this." "Thank you," she said, blushing when she caught his gaze on her chest, her nipples were clearly visible through the fabric. She hugged the cloak closer to her, it was very warm, the chill of the air cut off, and it smelled faintly woodsy. They sat there quietly, staring out into the water before she broke the silence. "I think I should head back, I don't want a full blown panic to spread if people realize I'm gone." Ari stood and helped her up. He escorted her through the streets holding her hand on his arm and talked a bit about the city and stores within it. She found herself looking up at him often, the pain dulled into the back of her head and heart as he took her mind off of things. Suddenly there was a sharp pain in her foot and she cried out. Ari bent to examine her foot as she held onto his shoulders. He pulled out a sliver of metal, it was jagged and her foot started bleeding immediately. Reaching into his pouch he put a green salve on it and wrapped it in some cloth, it smelled of mint. Before Keira could protest, he gathered her up in his arms and continued walking. "You don't have to carry me" she replied as she held onto his neck, "I can walk." "No, Baelea, I don't want you anymore injured than you already are. Let me have the honor of carrying you." Keira couldn't form a response to that so she just sighed, letting him carry her. She rested her head on his shoulder, smelling that woodland scent again as he reached the tower she was staying in. He carried her up the flights of stairs, his gait steady and strong, as if he was just carrying a feather. They reached Keira's bedroom, he set her down gently as she looked down the hallway to Greyson's, his door was closed, all was quiet. Ari looked to where her attention was then looked back at her. "Will you be okay?" he asked gently, touching her chin to get her attention. "Yes, thank you Ari. You were more than kind to me." She smiled up at him lost in his green eyes. She lingered not wanting him to leave, and something he said dawned on her and she asked trying to sound it out, "Ari? What does Bay-lee-a mean?" "Ah, I'm sorry, I forget not everything translates. Baelea means, as best I can describe it to you, 'As beautiful as the Mother Moon' it is said to those found most beautiful to the eyes." She blushed heavily. "Thank you Ari. That is quiet a compliment." "You are most welcome, my lady. Now, I must bid you a deep slumber, for you have a big day tomorrow." He bowed again kissing her hand and turned to walk away. Keira watched him until he turned the corner and turned to her door. She glanced down the hallway again, and froze meeting Greyson's gaze as he shut his door. She sighed heavily and entered in, plopping on the bed. Not only was she facing a war, but her Keeper was being confusing as well. As she covered herself with a blanket her thoughts were torn between two. ***** ~Thank you all for the comments and I hope you enjoy this longer chapter. I will try to make them a little longer from now on since that's the most common request. Thank you all for reading! -S.S~ Book of Flames Ch. 05 Keira woke up to knocking on her door. She pulled the covers over her eyes as the door was opened and a high pitched voice spoke, "Miss Keira! We are here to get you ready for the ceremony, if you would please get untangled from your bedding we shall get ready!" Keria peeked out to see a tiny old looking woman. She looked like a cat dressed as a grandma. The image of last night flashed into her head and she buried herself deeper under the covers. "Come now, we cannot dally! We must prepare you Miss and get you out to the people, for they are eager to see the new Elemental! "Fine," Keria groaned, throwing back the covers and getting out of bed. The cat lady covered her in a hooded robe and ushered her out of the room. "Can't a girl use the bathroom first?" Keria asked grumpy. "You may relieve yourself when we get to the bathing chamber! Right now we must hurry." Keira followed along in a light jog to keep up. She peered at the city through the slotted windows as they hurried along. The sunrise was making everything shine, the gold towers reflecting the light, almost blinding her. The orange sky looked calm, only a few clouds in the sky. She followed her through hallways and winding stairs until they reached a huge room. It had a pool set into the floor, columns that had wispy white material strung from them. Sunlight shone from the sky lights above and Keria sucked in a breath. It looked gorgeous. "Please go relieve yourself so we may begin," the cat woman pointed to a room off to the side, "But please hurry." Keira went to the bathroom and washed her hands coming back out. The cat lady removed her cloak and motioned for her to remove the rest, Keira was hesitant. "I don't wish to mate with you Miss, I wish to get you ready. You must be cleaned and dressed before the ceremony." Other women then came in, holding material and baskets of stuff. Keira sighed and stripped, wanting to get it over with. The old woman motioned to the pool, and Keira got into the dark blue green water. They moved her to the edge as two of the women, one green skinned and one purple, got in the pool with her. They were wearing silver bikinis, their hair was braided and tied up upon there heads. They looked human, just with the weird skin color. The other two went to the edge of the pool and knelt down, beginning to wash Keira's hair. The old woman applied oils to the water and handed different things to the other girls. "Relax yourself Miss, and enjoy. We are honored to prepare you." Keira closed her eyes as the women scrubbed her hair and washed her limbs, opening her eyes when she felt them touch her crotch and breasts. She was startled to find the purple woman rubbing a red gel all over her breasts and around her nipples, going around her jewelry. "Mistress Keveta," she said, looking up at the old woman, "She has her nipples adored with jewelry, may I give her something more fitting for the ceremony?" "Yes, if she will allow us." "Sure," Keria said, wondering what kind of jewelry they had. She felt a weird sensation on her crotch and wondered what the other girl was doing, as she was underneath the water. As they finished they motioned for Keria to get out of the water. They positioned her in front of a ornate golden mirror. The sunlight shone on her skin, the water dripping from her body to pool on the floor. She was surprised to see she was completely hairless, explaining what the one girl was doing. The girls dried her off, taking care to dry her hair to a damp state as Keria watched them. They started to apply an oil to her body, starting at her feet and working up massaging her muscles as they went along. Another girl started brushing out her hair, Keira noticed it was longer, almost to her butt. She examined herself closer in the mirror and realized she had no flaws. Not a pimple or blemish was on her face. She looked to her arm to see if the scar she had gotten when she was eight and had fallen off her bike was still there. It wasn't and Keria looked surprised. The old woman spoke up, "This ritual is to clean you, to purify your body to be the vessel for the Element. As you are the first to awake, it is your honor to be the one for this rite of passage. We hope you are pleased." Keria's eyebrows shot up as she responded, "Yes I am. It's a bit shocking though." She looked at the two girls as they massaged her arms then worked into her chest. She blushed hard as they kneaded her breasts, one of them stopping to take out her jewelry. "We will send these to your room Miss," she said looking up at her, her breath tickling Keira's nipple. Keira just nodded unable to speak. The girls behind her finished brushing her hair. They coated it with something and started to gather it in sections, leaving wispy pieces down and making braids, weaving them together into a top knot. They grabbed golden jewelry and wove it into her hair, a piece connecting it across her forehead, with a ruby hanging between her eyebrows. They changed out her earrings. They put in dangling rubies, and ruby studs in her second set of piercings. They changed her nose stud out, a thin gold hoop was placed. They added bangles to her arms as the two girls in front of her gathered a pot with a red substance, they began to trace over her symbols and it tingled where the paint was. The other girls attached a beautiful golden collar, rubies lining it, to her neck. It had chains attached to it. They pick one up each and unscrewed the barbell, carefully inserting it into her nipples, the ends being rubies as well. The other chain hung straight down, and the one girl blushed and spoke to Keria, "We need to attach this one to your bud, if you will let us Miss." Keira looked confused until the girl pointed to her crotch. "Oh. Oh!" She said, a hot blush creeping over her face and neck. "Okay, if you must." She awkwardly spread her legs, letting the girls clamp it to her clit. She felt wet, her embarrassment rising as the green skinned girl smiled up at her licking her lips subtly. They stood and finished tracing the symbols on her chest and neck as the girls behind her traced the ones down her back. The old woman gathered the cloth and helped Keria step into it. It was very revealing, it was a halter neck, it draped from her shoulders in a low scoop neck showing off the chains between her breasts. Her sides were completely open as well, the symbols curving around her breasts peeking out. Her back was open again, her symbols going down her spine, more apparent with the red paint. Just her butt and legs were covered. They attached a gold chain around her hips, like a belt. It had loops hanging from it in different lengths, rubies at the middle of the loops. The dress had slits on the side like the one she wore last night, going up to her hips and the belt. She couldn't see her nipples even though the dress was white, only the bumps of her jewelry could be seen. They helped her into golden strapped heels, Keria wobbling a little. She couldn't take her eyes off of herself until one of the girls turned her head, and started applying makeup. Once she was finished Keria looked back and gasped, she looked like a goddess. Her lips were a gorgeous shade of red, her eye shadow was golden, as was her blush, contouring her face into super model status. The gold shimmered on her pale skin, and her hair looked as if it was on fire. She couldn't believe how beautiful she looked. "Thank you," she half whispered, clutching the hands of the girls. "This is amazing, thank you so much." The old woman smiled at her, "You are most welcome. Now, we must get you to the ceremony." ---- There was a gathering of people in the ballroom. It was a massive room, tall marble pillars lined the walls, it had an open skylight, letting the sun illuminate the room. Jargen stood tall at the entrance and around the edges of the room. A grand staircase at the front, red carpeting rolled out for the Elemental. Everyone was in white, gold, and red. Golden soldiers stood tall among the crowd. Greyson stood at the bar area, a couple of pink skinned girls were whispering to each other, glancing at him, their tentacles writhing upon their heads. He sighed heavily, sipping his drink. His thoughts went back to the previous night. He took on a contract, he felt like just because he suddenly became a Keeper his life shouldn't change, he needed to go back to what it was and not be so wrapped up in the girl. Who he owed wouldn't care either. His mind replayed the sight of Keria. She was standing in his doorway. A thin blue dress on, showing off her every curve. Her hair looked tossed, sexy. Her eyes were wide as Greyson climaxed at the sight of her. She turned and ran, and he felt sick to his stomach. His client paid and left. He showered and as he got out he heard voices, peering out into the hall he saw her standing there with that Druindar, he kissed her hand and walked down the hall. Keira had a happy look on her face, almost blissful, as she turned to look at him. He froze then shut the door quickly. Sighing, he knocked back the drink and ordered another. Looking out into the crowd he spotted that pompous oaf entering the room. He went through the crowd greeting some and made his way to the bar, next to Greyson. He gave him the side eye, the Druindar stood a good foot above Greyson's 5'7 height. His golden armor shining, the electrostix and energy rifle hanging from his hip. He nodded at Greyson, to which he sneered back and turned to face the bar. "You should be honored to be a Keeper to such an Elemental," Ari said, trying to break the ice. "Yeah, sure that's why there throwing this party, for me." Greyson responded mockingly. "It is for the both of you, you will have a part in the rite of passage. You must also help her seek the other Elementals that may be out there," he said motioning to the sky. "Sure thing, the next thing you Know my duty will be to wipe her--" Greyson was cut off by a hand on his shoulder. Ari had a look of anger on his face. "Your very self righteous for someone that beds women for a living. You should watch your tone and what you say. Your Elemental does hold the power to destroy you." "And apparently I have the power to take hers," he said referring to Drackon-El. Ari opened his mouth to respond when Samuel addressed the room. "Today is a joyous day, for today we celebrate the new hope in the galaxy. Today we honor the rite of passage for our new Elemental! May she bring peace and prosperity to us all!" Someone shouted in the crowd, "And may she destroy Drackon-El!" To may whoops and cheers. The room went silent as the doors opened and Keria stepped out. Both men's jaws hung open at the sight of her. Samuel escorted her down and to the center of the room as someone wolf whistled. Keiras blushed crept all the way down her chest, both men noted. The gold on her seemed to glow as did her symbols as she carefully stepped down the stairs. Her breasts bounced gently, the chains in her cleavage hinting at what was underneath. The many rubies sparkled in the light as they made there way to the center, and the room gathered around her. Greyson and Ari got closer, as Samuel spoke again, "This young woman has come into power, she has passed the Plains Trials and her next step is to bond with her Keeper and seek out other new Elementals." Samuel motioned for Greyson to join them. He approached them and stood next to Keira. Keira offered a faint smile, as Greyson smiled back automatically before correcting himself. "Greyson, stand behind Keria," he said as he moved away, down from the raised platform. He was handed a bag of something that looked like red salt and he drew a circle around the two. "May this ring unite you as one being," he handed the bag back as it was traded for the book. After a pause he opened the Book of Flames, and began to chant. Red swirling mist rose from the pages and surrounded them both as the crowd backed away slightly. It felt hot to Keira, and she felt her symbols heat up almost to the point of burning. She backed up into Greyson, reaching for him, feeling dizzy, squinting at the mist and giving up, shutting her eyes to give herself a slight relief. Greyson wrapped his arms around her, his skin glowing golden symbols as the chanting continued. The heat was unbearable and he felt Keira lean into him, as he held onto her tighter. A tight pain filled his chest as he fought with himself mentally, his emotions out of control as he felt her smooth skin against him, her symbols warming him. Ari watched on as the swirling mist turned red and gold as it spun faster around them both blocking them out of sight. He felt nervous that the ceremony would not work, that Greyson's refusal of his role would ultimately destroy them both, and they would reject each other. Keria opened her eyes as the mist stormed around them, blinking she was suddenly in a trench holding a rifle. She was confused, wondering just what happened. Explosions and screaming shocked her, her body moved, running, as if it was not her own. As if she was seeing through someone else's eyes, she ran through the trenches, slipping on mud, ducking at the sound of explosions, tripping over bodies and men dying, screaming in agony, blood and guts strewn about as suddenly there was a white light above her. She looked up into it as it blinded her, she shut her eyes as all noises died off. Opening her eyes again she was strapped down on a metal table, creatures above her, looking like something out of a horror movie, were cutting into her body as she screamed in pain. They dug around inside her and sewed her back up, only to cut her open in a different place. When they cut her abdomen open and pulled out her stomach she felt her eyes roll back into darkness. Opening her eyes again, fearful to what awaited her, she was in a cage, shivering cold. Something disgusting was in a bowl in front of her as a see through creature stood in front of her talking to her torturers, she was beautiful, looking like she didn't belong there. The wore a long green robe and kept staring at her as she spoke. The room was grimy and dirty, other humans and other beings in cages, some curled up, others rocking back and forth as her eyes went back to her captors, one banged on her cage making her jump as another grabbed her arm through a slot, injecting her and everything went dark again. A flash of light and then she was in a bath, steam rising as she looked to a doorway in front of her. The clear creature smiled at her beckoning, she was naked, looking like a human gummy bear almost, smooth skin and perky breasts, her hair was long and she smirked, beckoning. Keira rose out of the bath and to her, she blinked and she was panting, looking down herself as her dick pumped in and out of the creature, her breasts bouncing in time to her thrusts as she picked up speed, the clear woman's cooing making her shiver as she watched herself release inside of it. She threw her head back in bliss as her eyes closed and opened to her hands covered in some rainbow liquid, almost like oil in a parking lot. The clear woman laid dead in front of her, anger rising in her throat, as she kissed the beautiful creatures forehead, covering her with a jacket, she slowly stood and walked over the body and out a door. Another flash and other creatures laid murdered, as she pulled the trigger killing the last one that was pleading for it's life. Another flash and she was on earth, looking at a woman, looking down at a locket with a picture of her. Looking back up she was holding a boy, who looked a lot like Greyson. She felt herself wipe away tears, looking up again she saw a funeral, a man looking like Greyson, holding a woman as they both stared into the grave below them. The mans hand was on a little girls head, she had bright yellow hair. She blinked and she was back in space signing a contract, her services to pay off a debt. Another flash and she saw her own self in the doctors office, naked and glowing with power, then in the doorway in her blue outfit looking shocked and hurt, and finally going down the stairs, looking like a goddess, unrecognizable to herself. She felt a strong emotion in her chest at each sight of herself as suddenly the vision went dark. Gasping she opened her eyes to see the storm again swirling around her, reaching to her stomach to grab Greyson's hands as she panted tired, her mind racked with confusion. The intensity in the room was thick, not one dared to breathe as suddenly Samuel's chanting stopped and the mist fell down on top of the circle. The two were lit in flames, one red, one golden. The flames twisted around them, making some step back cautiously and then it died down, revealing the two. Greyson and Keira's symbols faded. Their eyes stood the same, red and gold, and would remain like that. Greyson stepped away from her, and they shared a long look at each other. Before either could speak they were interrupted by Samuel. "The rite of passage is complete. Keeper and Elemental are now bound together. Let the feast begin!" Servants came out into the crowd offering food and drink, the noise picking up as everyone started talking with one another. Music could be heard faintly over the noise as Keria and Greyson stepped out of the circle and back into the crowd. "Your next step is to find the others," Samuel spoke to them. "That will happen later tonight, as of now, we enjoy ourselves. Think of it as a little down time before the big game." He bowed and walked away leaving the two alone. Keira awkwardly looked at Greyson, "Did you, did you happen to see anything while we were in there?" She asked pointing to the circle. Greyson stared into her eyes, "Even if I did what would it matter? We have a job to do, why don't you go mingle with that Druindar you were with last night?" Keira blushed, his hostility throwing her off. "Look Greyson, neither of us asked for this. I'm sorry you ended up my Keeper, and that it has ruined your life. But we didn't choose this we have to look out for each other." Catching his attention she added, "I'm sorry for what happened to you, and your wife. That you ended up like this. But it is not my fault, and you shouldn't place the blame on me. That kiss we shared meant something to me," she could see his eyes widen, "It felt like the most right thing to have ever happen to my life and I know you fell the same. When this is over hopefully we can go our own ways, if that is truly what you want." She squeezed his hand as he realized he was still holding on to her, letting her go slightly embarrassed. She turned and walked away without giving him a chance to answer. She didn't want to hear it and she didn't care right now. The pain in her chest was too much as she reached the bar. She ordered just water, and sipped it slowly trying to sooth the lump in her throat. Him denying his feelings towards her, after all he had been through was understandable, but it still upset her. There was no reason they couldn't be together. "You seem upset, sweet one." She turned to see Ari peering down at her. "It's nothing," she said trying to get a grip on herself. "If it was nothing your symbols would not be as bright," he said barely touching her back making her jump. "Your Keeper has upset you, Baelea. That is not right. He should be bringing you peace, not upsetting you." "He's been through a lot," Keria said, not knowing why she was defending him. "He didn't ask for this, much less be a second in command to someone else." "But you didn't ask for it either," he stated peering into her eyes, "You do not throw fits of child because your life has changed." "Fits of child?" She asked smirking, "I think you mean a sissy fit." She couldn't help but smile at the language translation. Ari smiled back, "I am sorry, Keira, that my language is laughable to you." He said chuckling. Book of Flames Ch. 06 Keira bit into the ball gag as the searing pain in her back grew more. She kept her concentration, healing her back after it was cut open, infuriating Drackon-El. He swung the whip harder, the jagged steel tips tearing into her flesh, as it glowed and was healed again. One last stroke, and he gave up, rage making him sweat. The bulge in his pants aching, he rearranged himself as he took off her blindfold. He traced the symbols down her spine, he was careful to not hit them for he didn't want to damage any connection to her power. He brought his arms around to her jewelry, kneading her breasts he yanked, pulling the pieces of metal through, tearing her nipples, feeling them bleed down her stomach. Her muffled screams made his cock twitch, but he had to pace himself. Coming around he took her ball gag out, as she spat at him, glaring. He stroked her cheek, dodging as she tried to bite his hand, and back handed her, proceeding to take off the collar. His final act, one he was savoring, he looked her in the eyes as he yanked on the chain connecting to her clit. Her face twisting in pain almost brought him release. He threw the jewelry on the floor. "I think that's enough for now," he said bending down to lick her nipple, the metal tasting blood was intriguing to him. He had never tortured a Terran before and it was proving most exciting. Turning he walked out the door, his Second following him. "Have her cleaned up and fed, I don't want her dead just yet." Hitting his chest with his fist and bowing, Thurrum-Geth replied, "Yes Master." --- Greyson gratefully took the water offered to him, uncaring that it was Ari on the other end of the drink. Sweat beaded off his face as he reassured that Keira was okay before severing the connection. He was supplying her with power, she used it to heal herself and piss off that bastard. Greyson had felt every lash of the whip, the tearing burning heat when he tore the jewelry out, and only through the connection was he able to keep her conscious when he tore the clamp off of her clit. Greyson got up and went to the break room of the ship, his new routine. He would stay there for a few hours, punching the practice dummies until he was able to control himself. It was three days after Drackon-El attacked the celebration. Many were dead, the army coming in, killing the rest of his creatures as Greyson and Ari attended to Samuel. They weren't able to save his legs, but they did manage to keep him alive. He now resides in a floating chair, something looking like a futuristic wheel chair. Drackon-El's plan back fired. Instead of weakening them, the whole Colony now was at their backs. The ship Greyson was on, was three days out from the ship Keira was on. Other Colony forces were waiting ahead, planning to bottleneck Drackon-El's forces and give them enough time to board the ship and find her. Frustrated, he punched at the dummy, as a whoosh was heard letting him know someone else was joining him. Turning he could see Ari standing at the entrance. Turning back he continued his assault, throwing punches and kicks as he blocked the response of the dummy. It matched his speed and timing, but it still wasn't enough as Greyson laid hit after hit, the ping of connection filling the room. Ari grabbed two practice sticks, long staffs, that had sensors attached and went to Greyson. "Spar with me," he said when he got the man's attention. Grayson grabbed the stick, heading to the circle. "I won't be gentle." "I don't want you to be," Ari spoke as he stripped out to his basics. Both men stood in pants and shirts, feet bare, at the ready. They touched sticks and then it began. Greyson was vicious attacking Ari without rest. Meanwhile Ari seemed calm and collected, blocking and evading Greyson's hits. As Greyson swung, Ari turned and dodged, swinging his stick out, knocking Greyson off his feet and to his back, losing his stick. Ari pointed the stick at his throat as the computer system called the match. Offering his hand Ari stated, "That is the difference between us, you are quick to act, letting your feelings get the best of you, burning those around. I wait, I wait to see what others do first, and use that motion against them. You need to learn to wait, or your going to burn yourself, and her, up." Greyson got up ignoring Ari's hand. "We're fine thanks. I'm keeping her alive aren't I?" Ari nodded slightly, putting his stick back up. "You are, but are you healing her?" Greyson opened his mouth to respond but Ari held up a hand. "I don't mean just giving her power to heal her wounds, I mean healing all of her, her mind as well. A mind is a fragile thing, and to be tortured the way she is, she's bound to fracture. You need to give her the strength she needs against him. Otherwise he will break her in ways even your power cannot fix." With that, Ari turned and left, leaving Greyson with his thoughts. He returned to the head of the ship to review their progress, dressing as he went. Many of the females and some of the males looked at him ad he passed. He knew he was lusted after, either his body or his position. He was not only captain of his city, but he was prince of his home world, Eliea. When he was younger, about a century ago, he had argued with his mother and father. He wanted to go out and make something of his life, before having to sit on a throne. He would have rather passed that job onto his seven sisters, all who were eager to wear his mother's crown. Eventually they gave in, and let him join the High Guard. He worked his way up the ranks honorably, and now was stationed as Captain of Damriel the home world of the Council. With that station came a burden. He was wanted for his title, nothing more. His thoughts turned to Keira. He was on patrol that night, even though he had a high station, he never thought it beneath him to task himself with what others thought grunt work. He loved traveling through the city streets after sun down, the quiet bringing him peace and letting him be with his thoughts. His thoughts were interrupted when a flash of blue ran passed some of the stalls at the end of the lane. His gut reaction was to follow, so he broke out into a light jog, following the figure. He realized it was a woman. Her skirt was whipping around her legs, giving him flashes of pale skin as she ran. Her back was glowing with red symbols as he realized he was following the Elemental that was brought into his city. He slowed his jog and came to a stop as he saw her walk to the edge of the dock, he was unsure if she was going to jump, for he had no idea what was going on. He waited, watching as she sat, her red hair flying around her with the gentle wind. She had her arms wrapped around herself, her outfit was revealing as the puzzle in Ari's head clicked together. He had heard the rumors swirl about the Elemental and her Keeper. Sucking in a quiet breath he interrupted her thoughts. She was beautiful. Her red hair shining in the light of the moons, her pale skin glowing. Warm brown eyes drew him in and as he looked down he could see the swell of her chest, tipped with rosebuds, through her dress. He offered his cloak, as his gaze lingered too long, making her blush and he watched entranced as the blush crept from her cheeks, down her smooth neck and to her chest as she covered herself. They sat on the dock for a long while, neither speaking. It was the most peaceful moment Ari had experienced in a long while. It was interrupted by her stating she wished to go back. Ari escorted her, taking a long route, wanting to extend his time with this enchanting creature. He talked about his city with pride, the people and cultures that gathered here, he delved a bit into his home world, and she seemed interested, asking questions. He tended to her injured foot, secretly happy to be able to bring her close to him, inhaling her scent, it was light, fresh, faintly smelling floral. Finally they made it to her room and his night with her had to end. She kept looking to a door, he assumed her Keepers as he brought her attention back to him, he kissed her hand, against protocol but he didn't care at the moment. She made him feel alive in a way he couldn't explain. And now she was held by the greatest evil the galaxy has known. His thoughts returned to the present as he talked to the ships captain, discussing the course, and tactical measures being taken. He wish he could will them to go faster. Not only was she at stake, his feelings for her growing stronger, but the entire galaxy. He shared a look with Samuel, who was resting in the corner of the room. Samuel had confided in them both that if they didn't get to her, they didn't have to fear him taking her power, they had to fear him making her go dark. -- Keira looked at the alien tending to her. She was a Grey, she had a round smooth head, large black eyes, thin lips and just a small nose. She had long fingers, twice the length of Keira's and was washing her down. She put on a stinky substance to her nipples and back, it tingled as it healed her skin. They had let her down, but kept her arms bound, in a metal that felt like cloth but was hard as steel. The Grey tried to feed her some berries, but Keira shook her head. The Grey looked pleadingly at her. She opened her mouth and spoke, "P-please, eat the fruit. He will h-harm me if you don't." Keira could see the Grey was scared but she couldn't be sure it wasn't some ploy from Drackon-El. "How old are you?" She asked the creature. "I am ten." "Ten years," Keira asked her eyebrows shooting up, "Are you an adult?" The Grey shook her head. "I am a youngling. He killed my parents and, and, took me." Keira still wasn't sure, but the look on the Grey's face and her nervousness made Keira eat some of the fruit. She didn't taste anything, except the flavor of the berries and she hoped it wasn't a mistake. "What's your name?" She asked as she chewed. The Grey just shrugged, "We don't have names. At least I never knew mine." "Well I have to call you something," Keira stated as she finished the fruit. "What about Alice?" "Al-liss" the Grey repeated. "Alice. I like it, thank you." She bowed slightly then jumped when the door slammed open. Thuruum-Geth walked in, scowling at Keira. "Has she eaten?" "Y-y-yes, sir." Alice said, cowering on the floor. Geth grabbed her by the neck as Keira struggled against her binds. He started choking the girl, as she thrashed around, blue tears running down her face. Keira got up to her feet and charged him, blasting him with a burst of power. Alice fell coughing, scurrying out of the room mouthing a thank you to Keira. Geth got back up chuckling. "I can see why my Master wants to fuck you." He eyed her up and down as she watched him cautiously. He played with her hair until she sent a spark of flame through it, singeing his fingertips. He licked them as he turned to face her grabbing her throat, squeezing. She panicked, her vision going dark as her powers welled and burst, setting fire to the room and throwing Geth back. Her arms were free as warning sirens went off on the ship, her fire carried through the ventilation triggering sirens and lock downs, the ship thrown into panic. She ran for the door, trying to come up with a plan as she jumped over Geth, kicking him in the face first, knocking him out. She ran down corridors, avoiding the Greys with the guns. As she turned a corner, she stopped, two DelVarie were standing there, not facing her. As she turned to go back down the other way two more appeared but didn't notice her yet. Suddenly a hand was over her mouth and before she could react she heard, "It is Alice, p-please come with me." She pulled her into a vent shutting it behind them, they crawled slowly through trying to be as silent as possible. Soon it opened up into a tiny room. Other Grey's were there, and some DelVarie. They looked mostly female from what Keira could tell. There were nests of material and items strewn about. "They will not be able to find you here, but we have to be quiet." "What of the ships sensors? Won't it spot us?" Alice shook her head, "We had taken those out a l-long time ago. This place isn't on the computer. You will be safe here for n-now. Then we must get you off the ship." "Why are you doing this?" She asked, the knowledge of the war coming back to her. "Aren't you on his side?" Some hissed as she asked that and Alice hushed them. "Our p-parents were at one time, they were f-fooled into believing he was going to change the galaxy, to give us more r-rights. Instead he ravished the galaxy and destroyed lives, turning to killing our p-parents. The ones that fought against this died harshly. The ones that joined were either turned into savages or beaten until their spirits broke. We are all that's l-left." "So your like a resistance group, but your all kids?" Alice nodded her head. "We don't live long anymore, I am the oldest. I came from a small village, D-Drackon-El convinced my tribe to join. My p-parents were killed. I would have been forced to breed but," she lifted up the tattered shirt showing the scarring across her stomach, "I destroyed that part of m-myself. I'm just a servant now, but I will live longer. Most breed woman don't live past their first birth. The men are v-vicious." Keira sat down wearily as a child handed her a drink, it tasted like kool aid. "So what's the plan?" --- News traveled fast and there was a rush of activity on the ship as Ari and Greyson listened to the report. A blast happened on Drackon-El's ship, slowing him up greatly. It took out a portion of the ship, no critical damage, but his systems were fried. It was Keira, clearly. Greyson tried to reach out to her, but it was blocked. She was alive but she didn't want him in her head right now. He got the feeling she was going to do something stupid. The captain coordinated with the other ships, their trajectory showing they would be there in a day now, and both men sighed a little in relief. They prepared, checking weapons and equipment, and bunking down for some rest before the fight. Greyson stared up at the ceiling his thoughts swirling around. He handled things poorly with Keira, and now he might not be able to fix it. He turned to his side. He had let his past get the best of him and acted like a jackass. He got jealous, when he saw her with Ari. That smug bastard thought he knew everything, trying to woo his woman. His woman? Was she really his? That kiss felt like it. It was intense, powerful. He got a high that went beyond what any drug could do. He looked on the symbols on his arms, and with that kiss he became a Keeper. His life got taken over. He's now on a ship fighting a war that wasn't his to fight. He felt resentment. Hasn't he been through enough? He was fighting in a war when all this happened. He was in world war two. Hunkered down in a trench, his platoon was over run and he was trying to retreat. Then suddenly there was a bright light. It froze him in place and knocked him unconscious, the next thing he knew, those bastards were cutting him open. He was kept in a cage, for how long he did not know. Then one day, that girl came. She was see through, and gorgeous. She brought him home and took care of him. He made love to her like she was the only woman in space. He thought he could finally move on. Then as if the universe likes to yank a persons chain, he came home one day, her favorite flowers in hand and he found her laying there. Rage filled him. He found the ones that had slaughtered her and killed then mercilessly. Before he put a bullet through the last ones head, it told him why. She had paid large amounts of money to buy him, and she was suppose to hand him over, to be processed out and be sold to the highest bidder. Instead she fell in love with him and broke the contract, paying back her boss in full, but it wasn't enough. She went behind their backs so she had to die. She died because she fell in love with him, and it was his fault he couldn't protect her. He found a ship heading to earth, it was rare to come by, because earth was off limits generally. The war was over, he went home to find his wife and son playing out front. He was going to confront her, but just couldn't. She looked so happy. He watched, living close by, as she remarried, his son grew, and got married, they had a girl, his granddaughter. And all that while he never aged. Just barely. Then his wife died. He was there for the funeral. His son actually came up to him, to thank him for being there. His son's wife looked shocked, looking at him and then back at her husband. He left quickly. He decided to leave earth forever. It was no better in space though. Work was hard to find, so he ended up servicing women. He struck up a lot of debt gambling and now he was stuck paying it off. The irony didn't pass him, as he had become the thing she had sacrificed her life to keep him from becoming. His thoughts swirled to Keira. He loved her, at least he was starting to, but he didn't want to repeat his life again. He didn't want to watch her die. He didn't want her. But that little voice inside told him he did. -- They snuck through the vents, heading to the emergency pods. They stopped occasionally to listen to make sure the computer system didn't pick them up. Finally Alice opened the vent and they waited. After a few minutes alarms blared and they heard the activity of the ship as all personnel headed to see what was happening. Keira looked at Alice, she was wringing her hands together, clearly worried about the others. "Hey, it's going to be okay," Keira offered resting a hand on Alice's shoulder. "We're all going to get out of here okay? You said the colony ship is right behind us, we will make it. You will be safe I swear." A ruckus made them shrink into the shadows, then suddenly the other kids appeared from the vent and hallway. Keira looked at their scared and nervous faces. Some were so small, they had to be carried like toddlers. Keira and the group ran to the pods. She opened the door to one and ushered them inside. The last to enter was Alice. She paused looking at Keira. "Thank you, now m-maybe we will be able to have a life." "Get in before were found out," Keira said urging her into the pod. "I think that's a bit too late," a voice spoke behind them. Reacting fast Keira shoved Alice in and ejected the pod. She could see Alice screaming as the pod's on board computer kicked in taking them to the ship. Keira smiled slightly and touched the glass, watching Alice fly away, touching the window to the pod, mirroring Keira. Keira turned around and opened her mental link to Greyson making sure he kept the kids safe. She shut it as he saw Drackon-El in front of her. "So you destroy my ship and send my servants away?" Keira half shrugged letting herself relax for the fight that was coming, "My mother always said I was a bitch." "A bitch indeed," Drackon-El said coming closer. He lunged at her as she blasted him with power. He was stunned for a minute giving her time to land some blows. She avoided his fist, as she swung at him, her power fueling her. Suddenly he swung up, connecting with her jaw and everything went white. She came to as he was on top of her, binding her hands. She used her power to throw him off but it failed, as she watched in horror as her power was absorbed into him. She panicked and tried to throw him off again just to have him smile down at her. "Looks like you don't have an upper hand any more. I guess I need to show you what I do to bitches." He dragged her down the corridor by her hair as she kicked and screamed. They entered a room, it was dark as he threw her on a bed. Her mind linked with Greyson's as she felt the heat of his anger, it got cut off.
