He was disappointed and lay in bed imagining how he wanted it to end. Had the girl in his dream really been Shasta? If he thought falling asleep again would allow him the reality of finishing the dream he would have rolled right over and taken any consequence for being late for work. *** Shasta also awoke interrupting a dream. The dream was so real, and she quickly rose from her bed to shake off the dream. She didn’t want to dwell on it in case dwelling on it would keep it in her mind. Despite her quick movements in the shower the fear returned and she saw the faces in the dream. It wasn’t just one face but one body and the faces changed through out the dream, and the only face she recognized was David’s. She had been scared by the other faces, she was running from them, but then the same being was beside her with David’s face. Was it really David? *** David arrived at work and saw Shasta before she saw him. He shook his head as he watched her with new eyes. The images of his dream filled his mind and he again saw Shasta on his lap, and felt the weight of her pushing against him. Shasta checked her message box while his eyes were glued to her as he imagined what she had done next. He almost groaned when he remembered her turning so she was now facing him but still on his lap. In real life he would have reciprocated and either taken her body fully in his hands or questioned what she was doing. But in the dream he did neither. Instead he let her move as she wanted, neither helping nor hindering. Just like in the dream he was entranced by her now and she wasn’t even wearing tight clothes or drawing attention like he was sure she could. He remembered the kiss when she put the pen in her lips thinking of what to write. The kiss was so real he lifted his hands to his lips wanting the pressure to be real. He looked at her viewing her now for other possibilities instead of just as his coworker. In the dream she had kissed him so deeply and started on the buttons on his shirt, even reached down to rub outside his pants. It was just a taste of what being with her would be like, but then she had stood up. He still didn’t move as she walked backwards away from him with a look of longing in her eyes. Shasta was now finishing up her work at the front office and as she had walked away from him in the dream, she now walked towards him in real life. He realized that his pulse had risen in reliving the dream and was feeling his body longing for her, or at least longing for what he imagined her to be. He sighed, indeed it was only a dream. *** She had received a larger pile of mail than usual and almost sighed with relief that work would provide the distraction she needed. She certainly didn’t want to sit at home filled with the lonely feelings that waking up from a confusing dream always brought to her. She was lost in thought about the urgent memo from her boss. In her team room she’d be able to sit and think about the problem, and later in the day with her teammates, come up with a solution. She smiled to herself and had momentarily forgotten the dream when she looked up and saw David standing across the office. Was he watching her or did it just happen that they looked at each other at the same moment? Her smile vanished as the memories of her dream flashes through her mind clearly. Shasta stopped at a red light in her car, the road in front of her turned into a jungle path and she couldn’t drive when the light turned green so she got out and was going to walk home, but a man was behind her. She looked at him and instinctively knew she should run from him. She ran straight ahead, then a different face on the same body was in front of her and she again knew she should run. It was so real, even now that she had to remind herself that it wasn’t. David was now walking towards her. She felt she couldn’t talk to him for fear it would reinforce the vivid dream in her memory. She pretended she had forgotten something at the table, turned and picked up a form she didn’t need and kept walking the other way. In her dream she had also turned the other way, off the path into the darkness, not seeing but sensing where to go. Knowing there was trees everywhere scared her but she never ran into one. She walked quickly through the jungle, and felt herself pick up her speed, as she walked down the hall thinking only that she couldn’t talk to David. She had come to a stream which turned into a river in front of her, she felt fear from being caught by her pursuers. She jumped as a body appeared across the river from her. It was the same body, with David’s face this time and she hadn’t been afraid, trusting him implicitly as he silently rowed a raft with her on it across the river without a word. He pointed the way to her left and she followed the trail without turning around or thanking him. One moment she felt safe, the next she felt pursued again and saw the same body with a different face. It was a face that she was sure meant her harm and she was running again. Her pulse was racing in real life now as she chose the stairwell instead of the elevator, taking the steps three at a time. She had followed the path David had pointed out and she saw a light ahead and it was a wooden house with a wide porch that lifted off the ground. After she stood on it and she knew she was safe. She forced herself to stop as she reached for the door that entered her floor. She needed to control herself. It was only a dream. *** David was surprised that Shasta hadn’t given her usual casual greeting. Had she sensed his stare? He didn’t think so. Why had she turned away? It was probably better since he might do something he’d regret later when the spell of the dream wore off. He checked his mail and consciously picked the same pen she had used, to write his own notes. He received a confusing note from his boss. It would take some thought to know how to handle this new problem. He needed a clear mind for the task and forced his thoughts and body to cool down. *** She had a desk in their large team room. Her desk was covered with family photos but she knew it was different from many other desks because the pictures were obviously her parents and brothers and sisters not her own children and husband. She thought of the moment of feeling of safety that she had felt with David in her dream and thought of the safety she felt with family. It was time for a phone call to Mom and brothers and sister and nephews and nieces again to remind herself of the safety. Thinking of David she turned and wasn’t surprised to see that he wasn’t at his desk across the room yet. Maybe she could be involved in work before he came in and would be able to put thought of the dream and David aside. *** He walked into their team room quickly scanning it as usual, this time adding another target. He knew where her desk was and was surprised to see her already there standing at her desk getting ready for work. How had she gotten there so quickly? He remembered seeing a picture on her desk once when talking to the coworker at the desk next to hers and assumed it was her family together when she was a child, and that the cute girl in pigtails was her. Maybe he could go over and talk to her now and ask her about the picture. He watched her survey the room and seem grateful for the quiet morning time, and decided against it, he also needed the quiet time. *** Her day was for research except for the regularly scheduled team meeting at 12:30 p.m. She had the morning to do research on her angle of the problem and use her creativity to come up with as many solutions as possible to present at the meeting. The problem was unusual and she was wondering how their clients could afford them. *** On his desk his picture of his parents was in a silver frame. His piles on his desk that he had hurriedly left on his desk before leaving on his last assignment seemed to take forever to organize It was late by the time he sorted his daily mail. He left the letter from his boss for last. The problem was new and interesting, and he didn’t know where to begin. They were allowed to talk to other team members as long as they kept open minds and didn’t come to a decision about the correct choice of action before the team meeting. The more he thought about it he realized didn’t have much time to get any new information and his knowledge on the subject was limited. His leads were limited and didn’t get him far. *** By the time lunch came he was frustrated. He knew he wasn’t going to get any farther and decided a lunch break would be what he needed and almost instantaneously remembered his dream and the object of his desire. He turned pretending to stretch and looked around for Shasta. He wasn’t disappointed and saw her happily at work talking on the phone with a big grin on her face. He longed to go see what she was happy about. *** Her morning hadn’t proved to be the disaster she’s thought it would be after the startling dream. Each of her phone calls had lead to more information. Her desk was starting to get messy with her piles of papers and her trips to the fax machine, and printer. It was getting close to lunch and she wondered what other team members were assigned the same project as she was. She hung up the phone and was going to check if her e-mail had been answered when her thoughts turned to David and she smiled and hoped he would be on the team. She thought about her dream and was now able to filter the scary unreality out of the reality of her day. For the first time she wondered why David had been in her dream and why it was with him she had felt safe. Maybe it was time for lunch and time to think about this logically. She stood and stretched, turning around. She was almost surprised to see the room full and bustling instead of empty as it had been when she started work. Her eyes scanned to David’s seat and she saw his desk was empty. She was about to turn around when she saw he had just been reaching down for his wallet that had fallen on the floor. He picked his wallet up and stood up and looked straight at her desk and their eyes meet. She smiled, grateful this time she hadn’t met his eyes with the scared look that must have greeted him this morning, and looked away. *** He was trying to decide if he could invite Shasta out to lunch and how to do it when he fumbled with his wallet and it fell on the floor. He had decided not to approach her today but when he stood up and looked for her again he was surprised to see her looking at him. He smiled, and instead of the morning’s frightened look she smiled and he immediately changed his mind. *** Someone was walking by her desk so she took that opportunity to look away from David so he wouldn’t think she was staring, which she had been. She turned to her desk deciding what to do for lunch when she noticed she had a new e-mail. The e-mail provided more information and she quickly dismissed the idea of a long, relaxing lunch. She couldn’t resist turning once more to sneak a peak at David as he walked across the room talking to Mitchell another team member. She turned back to her desk with the same safe feeling she had in her dream. *** David walked to Shasta’s desk noticing right away the picture he wanted to ask her about. Her desk was in her usual disarray as the papers and books seemed incoherently tossed into piles. Shasta didn’t hear him approach as he asking his friend to lunch so he could casually invite Shasta too without her feeling pressure. He knew she felt comfortable with Mitchell and approached her desk hoping to appear casual. She seemed surprised when he called her name and kept her finger on her spot where she was reading. They both greeted each other casually. "We were wondering if you’d like to join us for lunch?" asked David wishing he hadn’t talked so fast. Shasta was surprised but responded honestly that she thought she’d just eat and work at her desk to finish her ideas. Neither Mitchell nor David were surprised to hear her discuss her ideas as she always had many creative ideas. David was disappointed but quickly asked if they could pick her up something, to which she agreed. She surprised him again by asking for his favorite sandwich from a sandwich shop they were going to frequent for lunch. By the time he returned from lunch he was highly distracted again by thoughts of her and was scheming ways to talk to her. *** Shasta’s curiosity grew as she thought about her dream and how it seemed to correspond with several intimate moments with him in the same day. Had he watched her like that before and she just hadn’t noticed, she didn’t think so. She wished now that she had agreed to lunch, and spent the time half reading and half thinking how to draw him into a conversation and even more into her life. *** He returned with her sandwich and a selection of drinks to choose from. She wanted to ask David and Mitchell to join her but how could she justify that as it defeated the reason for a working lunch, so she didn’t. But she did try to make clear eye contact with him as she thanked him and she paid him back. David surprised her by looking past the mess that was on her desk that people usually criticized, and noticed her family picture. The one when she was a child, her parents without gray hair, her twin brother and sister still babies. The one that made her wish she was still as beautiful as her childhood self. He guessed correctly that it was her family and she smiled largely when he commented that she was terribly cute in the picture. He even asked to pick it up and asked who the other in the picture were. She was flattered and surprised, and her curiosity grew. *** David walked away from her desk after giving Shasta her food. He had made her smile, not because of a joke but because of the obvious way she lit up when he asked about her family and the cute girl in the picture. He had noticed the way she pulled her hair behind her ear, the way she smelled her sandwich savoring the smell, the way she crossed her legs, the way she touched her lip while listening to him. Those same lips that had kissed him in his dream. He had a big smile and had to consciously remember that he had had lunch with Mitchell and should include him in the conversation. *** Shasta hoped she wouldn’t be distracted by thoughts of David at the meeting. He probably wasn’t even in the same discussion group. She ate her delicious sandwich that seemed to taste better today than usual, and worked on her list of ideas for the project. She was ready for her meeting, she grabbed her notes and stopped in the ladies room to lift her skirt a bit higher and touch up her lip gloss just in case he was there. *** David grabbed his folder of papers, but without much information to go on he put extra unrelated papers into his folder to give the appearance of readiness. He looked around and saw that Shasta was gone. She must not be in the same group as he’d been hoping. He was the first to arrive at the large round table in the center of the large room. The table was on a raised platform and had an overhead projector, white board, large easel with white paper, tape recorder, and enough pens and markers and colors to help with note taking. The platform had short walls around it to keep a degree of privacy if required. David chose his seat strategically so he could sit and watch Shasta’s desk and hopefully Shasta. *** When Shasta arrived at the conference table, a group was gathered and she could choose between two seats. Before, she probably would have chosen a seat away from the easel to not be chosen first, but now she chose that seat because it was next to David. She knew it was the wrong choice and was sure she would be distracted when her hand brushed David’s while reaching for what she assumed was her water bottle. It was actually David’s. She needed to focus. *** David’s couldn’t believe so much could change in a day. Yesterday, his loneliness was making him wonder why he broke up with his last girlfriend, even though he could list the hundred reasons. Today he was making a list of qualities he was seeing with new eyes in his friend Shasta. Even now she was walking towards him, even sitting next to him. Their hands brushed reaching for the water bottle and he was immediately reminded of how she felt sitting on his lap. He needed to focus. *** Everyone was anxious for the boss to explain more details about their job and how the strange project had come about. Kristal explained without interruption, "While you are normally a team of qualified mentors using your talents to help companies in trouble, this project is unusual. I will tell you up front although you will get paid, there will not be any extra bonus at the end, even if the job is successful. There is another project starting up any day. If you would like to consider that project and be released from this one it is your choice. I will only expect a skeletal staff and am willing to put in the extra hours myself to see that it works. You have been chosen because of your different talents and I’m hoping at least some of you will stay to see this succeed. I only discovered this through a personal friend and have even offered our services to the Daytolla Elementary School for free. The company is covering any costs that need to be handled but don’t expect any extras. We would like the whole group here for today's brainstorming session but Bill will explain some details of the other project and if that seems more appealing to you after today's meeting we will have you transferred to that team." Shasta was renewed in her interest for the program now that she understood this. It fit her more than other projects had although she had enjoyed them and she only half listened to Bill explain the other project. *** David listened to Bill hoping that it wouldn’t be something Shasta would choose. David wanted to stay with the project and thought Shasta would too after watching her enthusiasm that very morning. After just sitting next to Shasta and feeling her touch he knew if she switched he would be very tempted to also. Kristal took a show of hands for those that would switch, and David sighed out loud when he saw the Shasta didn’t raise her hand. David now wondered when the team realized his lack of expertise and ideas whether they would even want him on the team. *** Shasta saw the hands go up and she saw Kristal’s face give away her discouragement as she realized the group would be small and thus require more hours for her. Her reaction was the opposite as she saw that David did not raise his hand, and she turned and smiled at him. She enjoyed the smaller teams, and was ready to jump in. *** Kristal explained the scenario that had only been sketched for them in their morning memos. There was a school in their city with a bad reputation and poor leadership. The list was the same as you hear for most inner city schools: high turn over of teachers, low attendance, high rate of behavior problems, low scores on standardized tests. She went on to explain, "This Daytolla Elementary School is more unusual though and we are being called in because of a recent fire in the school, burning both their library, computer lab and some classrooms. “ “The result is high financial loss as well as the cutting of important everyday school functions. The company is donating money to cover costs for purchasing everything that is needed. But your job is to spend the money as wisely as possible, see that it is put into place and can function without your help. As always you are to justify all expenditures." *** David understood his role better now, and saw that he had been pulled in for his expertise in computers and networking. That angle would be easy for him. Making them child-centered would be a new challenge. Two Dreams Ch. 01 *** Shasta understood her role better. With her degree in Elementary education this would allow her to be in a school again, making a difference with children. She had left teaching after only 5 years. Kristal then let the discussion begin, handling questions first and then moving into a brainstorming session, writing down all ideas. David was quiet and nobody noticed that he was mostly listening. Shasta mentioned some of her ideas ranging from getting some workers at the Daytolla Elementary School full time to build relationships and supervise clean up, to providing a list of book titles on the topic which could provide lacking expertise. The room was a buzz and as the ideas stopped flowing, Krystal discussed the practicality of ideas and ideas were crossed off the board and other ideas were discussed more in depth. Kristal agreed that part of the team should be on hand to manage the inner workings from the site, and quickly chose David and Shasta for their expertise. She asked the members of the group that wouldn’t be part of the team to leave and thanked them for their time. Seven remained, and she wanted them to meet first thing the next morning for a meeting to choose a direction. She also reminded them that they were invited to their traditional opening night dinner if they didn’t already have plans, they could gather at the parking garage to leave. *** David was astounded and excited. He couldn’t have planned it better himself. It would be a perfect way to get to know Shasta without committing too far or even asking her out on a date. As curious as he was he also didn’t want to commit to anything even though his body seemed ready to. *** Shasta stared at Kristal even after she had stopped talking as the impact of her words sunk in. This man whom she was just starting to notice was going to be her partner for the next two months? It made logical sense that she would pair them together but the timing was just too strange as she considered her thinking about ways to get to know David better. Was it all coincidence? She remembered the man of whom she was thinking was sitting beside her and she turned to him. Their eyes meet as they had twice earlier that day with expectancy, he was smiling, and she followed suit. She was starting to make a fool of herself over this good looking guy that she knew was out of her reach. She needed to protect her feelings but she wasn’t doing such a great job. She reached out her hand and said "Howdy Partner," and when he responded in turn she didn’t think he was reading her lustful thoughts that grew. She felt his firm handshake and wondered what he’d do if she took his hand and placed it on her leg. He looked really good today. She grabbed her papers hurriedly and turned to leave the table. *** David’s opposing thoughts blurred in his mind. The first was to take her hand and kiss it, then to kiss it again. Then to kiss her wrist and to keep kissing up her arm and not stop till he reached those lips. Those lips he dreamed about just hours ago. The second thought was to just play it cool and keep letting fate work. Fate had done better than anything he could have imagined. He would let it work, and just watched her body move as she left the table. He pretended to work until time to meet for dinner. To keep his hands busy and away from touching himself, he typed up the story of his dream on his computer. *** She relaxed as she got to her desk and again let her mind shift to the dream. It scared her again and as she realized she wasn’t going to forget it with David around and she thought maybe typing it up in story form would help her to see it as a story. She started writing about her arrival at the wooden house and the feeling of her rising with the house to a place of safety. She had run from a man who she sensed was dangerous. Maybe this project was going to hold some dangers and while it seemed exciting this moment maybe in the future she would want to run away. She remembered her reasons for leaving teaching and her old fears. Maybe they weren’t so old after all. David had given her the route to safety and she wrote the words describing how the safety had enfolded her. Maybe he was going to hold the key to making this project work even though she was the one with more expertise. The feeling was more than just providing the route to safety, he had also provided her with safety; in his presence. She wrote her last sentence realizing that if she let her budding feelings grow for David she wouldn’t be safe. It was past time to leave. *** Shasta was the last to arrive and David waited for her with the others. Two others had left in another vehicle to reserve the larger table that would be needed. They climbed in and Shasta walked up as they were closing the door and she took the last empty seat next to him. With fate already working for him throughout the day he was sure it would again put them together. But he was obviously relying to much on fate becase as they sat at their table at a favorite restaurant across town, she was on the other end of the long table. Kristal was wise and knew that this relaxed time together as a team would help bind them for the rest of the project when they’d need to work well together. The evening was comfortable and they all talked and enjoyed the evening. He thought he could single her out and ask her to play pool, and just as he decided to ask she stood and went with a friend to the bar and order more drinks. She not only ordered drinks but got caught up in a conversation with her friend and another man at the bar. They were gone for a long time. He kept glancing over to see when she would return. The realization hit him that Shasta was out of his league. She probably got all the attention she needed and more and why should she even think of him that way. He was discouraged. *** Shasta knew that after her lustful thoughts for David all day she’d have to stay away from him in this social setting. Work she could handle, but seeing him look so good in his buttoned green shirt in a casual setting like this would make her want more from him. It was better to stay far away. She was glad to go to the bar when her friend wanted to chat personally, and when she saw David’s eyes follow them, she knew it was just because of her friend, and so she enjoyed her evening despite wanting to be with David. *** Back at the table it wasn’t long until Kristal stood up and announced that anyone who wanted to stay longer would need to get their own ride back to work. Their friend who had ridden with Kristal over to the restaurant offered to ride back with them so Kristal could drive home and not stop at work. They slowly gathered at the door and as they walked to the van she was surprised David walked beside her and chatted with her. David and Shasta were the last to reach the van and the others had already realized there was one seat short. The others had piled in so the driver decided that Shasta would have to sit on David’s lap for the ride. She blushed and joked that she might squash David if she tried, but David insisted that it was OK. She tried to sit down gracefully but it wasn’t possible. The driver joked that since Shasta didn’t have a seat belt David would need to put his arms around her to hold onto her. She was sitting sideways on his lap, and felt his arms wrap around her waist. She tried to get comfortable and didn’t know what to do with her hands. They were so close to each other and she felt his breath on her skin. She relaxed when the conversation turned away from them, and she lifted her hand and put it around his shoulder, brushing his skin on his neck with her fingers. She started enjoying the feeling of his arms around her waist. *** His dream had come true literally. Here she was sitting on his lap. His arms were around here. He could smell some light perfume. He knew even if it ended here it would be a special day that had surpassed his expectations. Her arm was around his shoulder and her thumb was moving against his shoulder. His desire for her was growing and he pulled her closer. He took one of his hands and placed it on top of her hand that was laying on her leg. He hoped he could blame it on the alcohol if she asked him about his reaction later but he wanted to touch her skin even if it wasn’t in the intimate places that his imagination was running to. She didn’t push away his hand but instead looked at him and asked if he would mind if she laid her head on his shoulder as she was tired. He quickly allowed her, but then realized she might feel or even hear the increased rate of his heart. *** She was starting to get swept up in the moment and the emotion that she was holding onto from her dream. This was the safety she felt in her dream, what she was feeling now in his arms. She was sure he held the same power to hurt her but she didn’t think on it and sighed deeply enjoying the moment. She yawned trying to make a show of her tiredness so he wouldn’t think it abnormal for her to ask to lean on him. At the same time her own heart rate was increasing. *** He thought she had probably fallen asleep against him, he could feel her breathing had slowed and hoped she wouldn’t remember if he stroked her back slowly feeling his own desire growing. She shifted and it felt as if she were cuddling into him like she would a pillow. Her movement moved her against his own growing heat and he let out a small sigh. He wished he could watch her sleep. **Would he be surprised to see her big smile? Her mind became even more alert upon hearing his sigh. Was she really having an effect on him? She decided to try shifting again this time more purposely. Did she feel an erection below her? She almost let out a giggle. Did she dare to do what her lust was telling her to do? She moved ever so slowly to still appear asleep. She moved so her arm was no longer supporting her head on his shoulder but now sliding under his arm behind his back. She had a choice now to stop there and appear to be comfortable or to awaken more sensations in both of them than she had felt in a long time. She felt almost as if she should ask permission, but she went ahead realizing she was holding her breath. She felt his back rubbing lightly, waiting for him to stiffen and push her away. He didn’t, so she reached lower, slowly pulling his shirt out of his pants giving room for her warm fingers to slip under and brush his skin. They turned a corner on the road and as she slid against him to get comfortable again she could feel that her pussy was quite wet. *** David kept up some small talk with others in the van for a while. When he thought Shasta fell asleep, he signaled to the others to keep it down and they kept talking in the background. Then she started moving against him, then she was stroking his shirt, then she was stroking his skin in the middle of a van full of people. He had know she was beautiful, smart, creative, and a friend, but now... Now he knew she was all those things plus sexy, passionate and daring. His hand moved on hers so his thumb was underneath and he could rub her hand without others seeing. He tried to speak in a volume that no one else would hear, hoping his words would not scare her away, "So hot." He looked out the window and could tell they were almost back to work. He needed to give her a signal that he wanted her later that night and she could choose to follow through. He thought she’d want to when he felt her slide her hand out from under his and put hers on top. Now his hand lay on the soft skin of her leg. His fingers wanted to touch her all over but he limited himself to stroking the soft place on her leg she had opened to him. *** She now started to recognize mutual pleasure when she heard him whisper to her. Was it possible she was giving pleasure to this good looking man. She had assumed from his many friends he would also have as many dates. Well maybe any guy would get turned on and could want her for one night, even David. Should she trust her dream or her instincts? While contemplating she heard him whisper, "We’re almost there, if you give me your cell phone I’ll program my number in and you can reach me any time." She sat up to stretch and yawn as if just waking up. She didn’t dare look into his face for fear she’d lean over and kiss him. The spell was broken for the moment and the others noticed she was awake and they teased her. She got her cell phone out and entered his name, and handed it to him for his number. She’d have to decide quickly what to do. They arrived at the parking garage. He gracefully lifted her out of the van, carrying and then steadying her as she stood. His questioning eyes looked at her. As the others were also exiting the van she thanked David loudly but then whispered, "Let’s talk." She turned and walked in the direction of her vehicle. *** David’s erection had lessened when when the bright lights of the parking garage filled the van. They came to a stop and he finished punching in his phone number. He lifted her out and wanted to carry her home but gently placed her down still holding onto her casually. He had made his move, now it was time for hers. If she did make a move could he handle the consequences? They were both tipsy and since they had to work together as partners for the next months or years. Would this really be right to follow his lust? She was obviously ready for a night of passion but did he want just one night or did he want time to explore this relationship. He was sure her passion extended past what he’d tasted tonight and she was beautiful and a good friend to boot. He could lose all that plus any future if he gave in to impulses tonight. He didn’t know what her words, "Let’s talk," meant but as his mind cleared part of him wished for more time to get to know her before taking a chance on sex ruining a good friendship and working relationship. He watched her walk away and he got his cell phone out of his pocket and held it in his hand. She turned around and he lifted his cell phone in a wave certain she’d call any moment. *** Shasta now regretted at least some of her boldness. He had obviously lifted his cell phone to her to show he was waiting for her call and he was surely expecting her to tell him where her car was parked so they could drive somewhere to continue what she had started. She wanted him, and sitting in her car with no one around she lifted her skirt played with herself, feeling a lot of wetness, stirring it up. She was already swollen and hot and just touching her skin made her moan. Even as her finger started working she knew David would be so much more fulfilling. More than that she knew she didn’t want just a one night stand with David. Maybe she could just not call? No, maybe she could just call and explain that she had a headache and was going home. She didn’t think he would call her back. No, they needed to talk but maybe staying on cell phones would be better than seeing him in person. She would call him and just tell him how she was feeling and be honest. *** David sat in his car alone and very lonely. He had just gotten the biggest sexual rush and after trying to hide it all day he couldn’t any more. She had been tipsy and probably wasn’t even aware of how turned on she made him, and maybe she flirted like this with all the guys she knew. She didn’t have a flirtatious reputation at work. He was half glad he wouldn’t have to ask her about the flirtation and confront the reality of what life would be like tomorrow. The longer he waited for the call the more it sank into his brain that the phone wasn’t going to ring. He was so worked up his body couldn’t wait until he got home. He had unzipped when entering the car to relieve the pressure. Now he laid his seat back. Images of her flitted through his mind, the reality so much clearer and better than the dream. He needed relief and just undoing his pants wouldn't do... slowly his pants wiggled down his hips. He stroked and rubbed himself imagining first her ass rubbing on him like she had, her stroking his back (OOPS, he’d forgotten to tuck in his shirt after getting out of the van, had anyone noticed?) He remembered her smooth leg, her waist, her smell. He was quickly to the point where he had been several times during the day and also quickly surpassed it. His hand pleasing himself but picturing only one woman who had brought him to the place of this pleasure. He wanted to get home and enjoy a longer session in the comfort of his bed or shower and so didn’t slow his action and moaned Shasta’s name as he grabbed a napkin and came in his car. It was long and pleasing and he was surprised at his intensity. He was about to start his engine when the phone rang, he hesitantly picked it up knowing it would be Shasta and knowing that his head was clear enough now to be honest with her and not act on his lust. Shasta jumped into the conversation speaking fast, so fast he couldn’t keep up. She explained that she was sorry for flirting with him. Well, he thought, at least she had called. He had to give her credit for making a phone call just to say sorry when not calling would have blown him off as well and been easier for her. *** Shasta was almost on the verge of tears when she got through with her apology, surprising even herself how badly she wanted to be with David on this night. She was talking too fast and stopped and took a deep breath before continuing. David surprised her by responding, "I’m not sorry you did." Before he could say anything further she jumped into her practiced spiel. She was very attracted to David but had never been one for a one night stand and that’s what this would be if they didn’t really know each other. To add to that they’d have to face each other at work the next day. She again spoke too quickly and repeated herself a couple times. She sighed and finished her teary speech by saying, "David, we haven’t even been on a date and I don’t even do that very often, I only gave in to my lust for you because of a dream I had, and I don’t want you thinking I’m someone who can’t resist calling you and is going to jump at the chance to be in your bed no matter how good looking you are." She had said it all, all she had planned and plenty more. Now she was getting a headache. Oh, how would they ever work together for the next month? She’d have to ask to be transferred off the team after this fool she made of herself. *** David listened, shocked, and when she started repeating her points, he started hearing the sadness in her voice as well. He thought she was brushing him off, but instead she was saying the same thing he had been thinking, not the way he would have said it, but he was pretty sure of her message. He would have to ask her later about her dream, but first he needed to clarify his view. Even now a question was forming in his mind. She stopped talking and he heard a sniffle. He waited a few more seconds to be sure she was really finished before saying, "Shasta, you have no idea how glad I am to hear you say that. Your words mirrored my thoughts exactly. I had this dream and so I’ve been watching by you all day and tonight you captivated me. But there’s no way I’d give up more of what we started today, for one night of fulfilling my lust and have you hate me tomorrow." He had hoped his words would have made her feel better but instead he heard her sniffles turn to crying while he spoke. He continued anyway, "It would have been hard to say that to your face because I want you beside me tonight in my bed because you are beautiful and sexy. So although your spell is still on me instead of asking you for that I want to ask you something else." *** Shasta didn’t want to have David hear her crying but wanted to hear his words so she went ahead and cried because she couldn’t stop. She was filled again with that feeling of safety that she had felt in her dream. She grabbed a tissue and wiped her face. She told him that she would answer his question honestly. Two Dreams Ch. 01 His question was simple, "Will you go out on a date with me tomorrow night? We’ll go to a public place and not talk about work, and I’ll try to impress you so you’ll agree to go out with me the next night and the next night." Her tears started again. *** David was quite self conscious and hadn’t expected crying or tears on the other end of the phone. But then nothing that happened today could have been expected. Now he was confused, afraid he had said the wrong thing. He started apologizing, saying he was sorry for whatever he did that made her cry. He ached to put his arms around her and comfort her. The tears seemed to lessen as said, "I’m crying because that was the best thing you could have said, and I can’t imagine an easier question. Yes, I want to go out with you tomorrow night." He loved hearing that, he felt richer, and taller and better looking than before. Shasta spoke to him through the phone in a whisper, "There’s only one thing I regret from this night." David could think of no disappointment from his day. It was full of surprises, and he wouldn’t have changed a moment of it, especially now because of a happy ending. He didn’t respond and she continued hesitantly, "I wish I had felt your lips on mine." *** Shasta surprised herself as she said she wanted to feel his kiss, but it just felt they hadn’t parted right and she needed to affirm that he was real. She didn’t want to lead him on again, and go back to the place that they were at before though. "As long as it’s only a kiss and you won’t tempt me beyond my endurance I’ll permit it.” She giggled and David continued, "How about we both drive out, and we meet under the street light on the corner of the parking garage of our office road?" She knew the place and felt safety in him choosing a lighted place. She whispered, "See you soon!" and hung up her phone. She fixed her skirt and hair as much as she could in the dark. She beat him out to the corner but could see his lights behind her. She pulled over and opened her door, standing where the lights shone on her but she could still make a quick get away if necessary. She was self conscious of how the tears had left her looking, and pulled her skirt lower so as to not be a distraction, she wished for a mirror to fix her hair. His words had been honest and she watched him get out of the car and walk to her, thinking about his fine looking face that she would soon be kissing. She felt awkward having asked for it. *** He pulled his clothes back on, fixing what he could in the dark. He drove out to her quickly. She looked so beautiful to him. He had caused those tears and that confusion, and needed to make it up to her. He raised his watch to her before touching her, saying "I’ve set my alarm for ten minutes and promise to leave when the alarm rings." She obviously took strength in that and ventured out of her car door towards him. He kissed her first under her eyes where her tear drops had been. She closed her eyes, so he then kissed her on her eye lids wanting to never cause her tears again. He raised his hands to her face cradling her chin. He asked her, "Am I just allowed one kiss?" *** She didn’t want to loose any of their ten minutes, and silenced his question with a kiss of her own on his lips. She lifted her arms to wrap around his neck to draw him close. She stood on her tiptoes to be closer to his height and it was the best kiss she had ever received. It was a kiss that spread down to her toes as he kissed her softly and the intensity increased. Never had ten minutes swept by so quickly. They released their kiss when the beeping from his watch persisted. They hugged knowing that they both wanted more, but could wait for a time it would be even better. *** He did what he promised he would. He walked away from her. The kiss had been better than the dream and better than his fantasies after the dream. After returning to his car he reached out the window and grabbed in the air and drew it to himself. He was grabbing a future that he hoped would include Shasta. He had given up a night of passionate sex for a chance at making his spectacular dream an even more spectacular reality. From the taste of reality that he had today he knew it was going to be good and that he wasn’t going to let it go. Not only had his day started with a dream but his new relationship now started with a dream as well. He would tell her how he had dreamed of her very soon. *** She was safe, safe in his arms, safe in the knowledge that they were building a future together, safe in the knowledge that he wouldn’t purposely hurt her, safe knowing that he would guide her down any scary paths she met in the future. She got in her car, waved at him as he pulled away. She reached out the window and grabbed the air and pulling it to her, she hugged herself with it, grabbing at the reality of the safety and love that encompassed her even though he was driving away from her on this night. For her it had started with a dream, and she would have to tell him of that dream very soon. Two Dreams Ch. 02 Chapter Two *** Yesterday had been like a dream and now Shasta wondered if the whole day was really a dream and if it had even happened. Her first thought had been of David. She lay in bed too long reliving some of the delicious details and lost track of the time. She slept in a short nightie but her now alert body grew to desire David just by thinking about him in her bed. Suddenly her loose short nightie now felt too constrictive as she wanted to enjoy her time just touching herself. She wiggled out of her nightie, and kicked her covers off. Her hands explored her body enjoying the feelings that thinking about David stirred in her. A car alarm outside brought her back to reality and she looked at her clock realizing that she was going to be late on this important day. *** David awoke with memories of being with Shasta but in the fog of sleep he reached for her and she wasn’t there. They hadn’t even slept together last night but he could still feel her and smell her as if she was beside him. He didn’t need to touch himself to become alert thinking of her but enjoyed touching himself all the same. He tried to think how he was going act today so as not to embarrass himself too completely in front of her, as hiss crush would probably show on his face. He needed to get going to work and to see Shasta. *** Since the project was new the team would need to meet more often together to get started and be united and get the bases covered. Shasta was surprised to see a group gathered at the conference table and she realized she was later than she thought she had been. She couldn’t let herself get distracted. She half hoped that yesterday was just lust and alcohol and that she’d control herself better today. As she approached the table she hoped there was a seat next to David but he wasn’t there yet. *** David walked in not really late, not his usual early self. Shasta was just walking to the conference table and his thoughts filled with her to watched her greet her coworkers without her knowing he was watching. He’d have to do that more often. He gathered with the others at the table wishing he could greet Shasta separately but was sure there would be time later. Krystal was there and would still be leading the meetings but since she had other projects to work on as well, wouldn’t be doing any of the research or hands-on work. The team seemed enthusiastic about what was ahead, and they all agreed that with approval of the Daytolla Elementary School administration it was most important for all of them to visit the school and makes plans from there. They made of list of questions that might need to be asked if they weren’t answered by talking informally to those they met. The Daytolla Elementary School was nearby and they agreed to meet at the vehicle in half an hour to drive together. *** Shasta got caught up in the conversation until her eyes caught David’s and she couldn’t look away. She smiled and he smiled back at her. She didn’t know how to act around him now and after the meeting returned to her desk in a casual manner. She didn’t know how to connect with David privately but not interfere with his work. *** Shasta had smiled at him so he hoped he could approach her now and not make her feel uncomfortable. He walked towards her table trying to look casual and asked if he could walk down with her to the van. He was rewarded by her smile and he returned to his desk to organize his things quickly before returning to her and walking out of the room together. He received another smile when he asked, “Are we still on for tonight?” *** She was relieved and happy he had remembered their date and agreed that they were still on for the evening. He was sure making it hard to concentrate on work. She asked if they could keep the evening casual and just talk, and not do anything expensive or fancy. He looked surprised at her request and she wondering if she should take it back when he responded, “I’d enjoy that. Can I pick you up?” She needed to be sure her plan was fine with him so she asked, “Why did you hesitate, did you have other plans?” *** Her idea to keep the evening casual was a surprise to him. He was used to women enjoying being spoiled to the full and was usually the one asking for casual dates. She seemed purposeful in her request and that touched him that she wanted to get to know him. He responded, “I would like to spoil you sometime, but I agree that we’d be more comfortable being casual this evening.” They agreed to meet at a family diner with great food and friendly waiters. He was surprised when she then asked, “I’m not real sure how to act around you at work. Is this something we should talk about?” He was glad she was honest enough to bring it up, and hadn’t even wondered about what others would think yet since his thoughts hadn’t thought of much but Shasta since yesterday. He replied, “I don’t think anyone else needs to know yet that I find you irresistible, and I hope we can both do our jobs. I won’t worry if you don’t spend your time with me during the work day as long as I get you to myself this evening.” *** His answer put her at ease, and she wondered in her mind how long it would take for others to notice, that is if the relationship even made it that far. They were almost to the car and he turned to her and said, “You were my first thought this morning and I’m glad we’re still seeing each other tonight. Last night was special for me.” She didn’t know how to respond and was saved from responding by others calling to them and distracting their attention. He was putting words to things she wasn’t ready to say to him yet but certainly enjoyed hearing. She was at ease now, feeling comforted to know yesterday wasn’t a dream, but also safe knowing he wanted to be with her tonight. She rested in this and was able to concentrate on work the rest of the day -- at least most of the time. *** David felt out of his comfort zone and just followed and listened as Shasta and others asked important questions and as they meet the administration and toured the school. He still was distracted by Shasta’s close presence but also absorbed all the new information he was receiving about the fire, the buildings, the administration. He took notes especially on things that would concern the computer room. David was used to his comfortable lifestyle and well-paid job and was astounded that there were students day in and day out attempting to learn in these poor conditions, only made worse by the fire that took the few resources the school possessed. While driving back to work he let himself drift to thoughts of what he could do this evening to make it a special time. He understood she wanted it to be casual but he could still make it special. He wondered what she would enjoy doing? *** Shasta’s day passed quickly but not without frequent thoughts of David. She tried to not think of the evening ahead. Usually her dreams of how things should turn out in her head led to expectations being disappointed. She was looking forward to the evening but forced herself to think of her job. While there was cleanup to be done first, she felt that there was a lot of research to be done before any rebuilding or training or purchasing started. She hoped others would want to be in charge of the clean up, computers and building so she could focus on researching the set up, books and procedures needed to run a good library that both students and teachers would enjoy. *** Besides a few words here and there Shasta had seemed so involved in her work, David hadn’t talked to her at all. She was busy at her desk when the work day ended and he decided not to distract her although he was a little jealous. He had in mind something she might enjoy after dinner but would need time to find the right place and he left quickly to make plans. *** Once Shasta realized that the room had quieted down, she realized that she was late and should get home. Once she cleaned her desk and thoughts of schools and libraries seeped out of her full consciousness, thoughts of David started seeping in and she started to get nervous. The day had been comfortable and no problem, and as she drove home she wondered if the evening would go the same way? She stared at her open closet, choosing one outfit and then another. As she showered, she relaxed into the water and let herself touch herself like she had that morning in bed, feeling her senses come alive. She used extra soap and circled her skin more times than was necessary for just cleanliness. It was David’s hands and lips she imagined. *** David waited outside the door for her with a bunch of wild flowers- he’d resisted the more expensive, more romantic roses to fit the casual theme she had chosen for the evening. She pulled up and didn’t see him at first and again he watched her walk. He enjoyed watching the smile fill her whole face when she saw him. So... maybe he wasn’t the only one getting in deep. He couldn’t resist a kiss but forced himself to make it quick. She looked great in just her casual jeans, and white embroidered shirt. The shirt was not especially tight but he could easily tell the size of her breasts, large, just the way he liked them. He hadn’t anticipated a date this much in a long time and he could feel his pulse rising as he looked into her eyes. *** She was sure she had blushed when he had whispered to her, “You’re dressing casually doesn’t make me want you any less. I think you look beautiful.” These compliments were breaking down her defenses quickly, especially combined with the way he looked to her. They had been thinking alike and he had also worn jeans. His shirt was a football jersey and she blushed again when in her thoughts she imagined him playing football in the backyard with their son. She warned herself to slow down and keep expectations low. She realized they were just standing there staring at each other and she turned towards the door. She led the way into the restaurant, collecting her thoughts. They were seated at a corner booth and she pulled out the menu knowing it took her a long time to choose, so she better start looking at the menu right away. *** He followed her into the restaurant and watched her walk, enjoying the view. This woman could lead him anywhere, he thought, and he would follow. Even to meet her parents. That’s how good he was feeling about being with her. Whoa, he needed to slow these thoughts down. She had asked for casual and he couldn’t give her any indication yet that his feelings were growing quickly. He casually looked at the menu as Shasta did. *** Shasta was surprised he put his menu down so quickly. “Did you pick something already?” She asked. He had found his favorite food, lasagna, on the menu and just decided on that. “I wish I could choose so easily. I spend forever making choices.” She glanced over the main dish menu again. He told her to take her time, and she relaxed and soon found a new chicken dish she would brave. *** “See I wish I tried new things more often.” He said. She had trouble with this family restaurant menu. Imagine how long she took in the cereal aisle, he caught himself thinking. The thought of them shopping together made him smile. He relaxed. They placed their order. They briefly talked about work, which led to sharing stories of their own Elementary schools while they ate. He poured them wine, and then another glass. He loved that she laughed at his jokes and even childhood anecdotes. He felt like she really listened. *** She liked that he could make her laugh easily. She loved her chicken and she was even more pleased when they tasted each others food. She explained, “That’s why you should always order different things, so you can sample the other food and get a bonus.” Then it was his turn to laugh at her quirk. He replied, “So I need to get used to sharing my food, do I?” “That’s the fee for seeing me again,” she winked. “Such a low price for such a valuable evening! I feel I got the better end of this bargain.” Why did he say these things? Her heart was melting with the wine, conversation, laughter and compliments. She would need to get home right after dinner so as to clear this guy, David out of her mind for a while. They finished eating and Shasta was disappointed that David said no to the dessert menu. He asked if she was ready to go. She agreed, but was sad he was ending the evening so early, which was silly since she had just told herself she needed to go home. *** David started getting worried when Shasta started saying good night at the door and thanking him for dinner. “But, I don’t want the evening to end, Shasta, I had something else planned,” he spoke quickly before she could turn away. Did she want the evening to end? He shouldn’t pressure her. *** She opened her mouth to say she planned on an early evening, just like she had decided in her mind, but those weren’t the words that came out. “No, I don’t want it to either, you just seemed eager to get going. What did you have in mind?” As the words tumbled out she realized that if David was a magician she had been caught in his magic spell. She couldn’t walk away from him. She also knew she should have said that she would drive her own car and follow him. But she didn’t say those words either, she said instead, “Let’s just drive in your car and save gas.” Saving gas was not what was on her mind. She followed her magician to his car and climbed in. *** “You’ll have to wait and see, it’s a small surprise.” He now felt nervous about whether she would enjoy his surprise. He was pleased she wanted to drive with him. It meant she trusted him already at least to some degree. He didn’t think he’d get her into his bed tonight, but that wasn’t the goal. As she sat beside him in his own car, thoughts of driving her straight to his place and making love to her did cross his mind. He didn’t follow through on the delightful thoughts though and instead hoped he could remember the roads he drove earlier today while trying to find the place. He pulled up and hoped he’d made the right decision. *** Shasta was a bit surprised that he pulled into a seemingly empty parking lot. Sure, she had lustful thoughts of necking like a teenager with this man but she had hoped for something more. When he got out of the car she slowly did too. He came around to her side and put out his hand to her. She took his hand and loved how her hand felt in his. Hers smaller, his bigger, fingers entwining. Through the dark she was starting to make out an empty baseball pitch in front of them. He took her across the pitch and as he eyes adjusted to just the few lights around them she realized they were in a park. She had never been here before. He lead her to the children’s playground, and she looked a little confused. *** Her hand fit in hers. He hoped they could take many walks holding hands like this. He was glad there were a few lights around for him to find the playground area of the park. When he saw her confused look, he explained, “Well, you said you wanted it casual, so I thought we could just swing on the swings and be kids again. Maybe it will help us in our jobs at the Daytolla Elementary School. Well, at least help us fit in.” He pulled her over to the swings and let go of her hand. He stood behind the swing welcoming her to sit. She sat down with a silly grin on her face, and he pushed her. *** Shasta had thought her evening couldn’t get any better but now it did. What a great way to relax. And a great excuse to feel his hands on her body. She pulled her legs up under her. David was doing all the work and she didn’t even need to pump herself. “Is this okay with you?” He asked. “This is way more than okay. This is great.” She responded. They didn’t talk while he pushed her and she felt peaceful. He stopped pushing her and she was going to get up to push him but he told her to stay seated. He took the swing next to hers and sat down. She was so relaxed she was getting sleepy. She reached out her hand not wanting to be separated from him even by the space between the swings. *** Now he was sure she was responding to him. She was trusting him in the car, in a darkening park, touching her more and now she was reaching a hand to him. A very good sign. He gladly took it and he pushed his swing gently so they were swinging and holding hands. He was getting tired from a busy day but things were going so well, he didn’t want the evening to end. He thought he could get more than just a hand hold from this woman who was stealing his heart. He stopped his own swing but pushed her swing away from him. The swing swung away but then back towards him like he planned. He grabbed her swing so she wouldn’t swing back which brought their bodies close and he kissed her. It wasn’t the most comfortable position but a good start. He got caught up in the kiss and the swing swung away from him, sending Shasta the other direction. He didn’t worry because if she was swinging away from him then she would soon be swinging back. *** Shasta enjoyed the kiss tremendously and wanted to explore some more. She wondered how bold she should be in moving in on David? She felt her body stirring and wanted more. She gave her swing a push so it would swing close to David again, their kiss was short before she swung away again, but they caught another kiss before it swung away a third time. Before it swung back one more time Shasta got up her courage. She stopped her own swing from swinging and stood up, walked towards David’s swing. She put her hands on the chains of the swing, stopped his swinging and leaned into him to give him a kiss. Unfortunately, she leaned towards him and as she leaned it caused David to lose balance on the swing and he fell over backward, falling the short distance to the ground. His legs were still up on the swing and he looked a little dazed. “Oh no, David, I’m so sorry. Are you okay?” Shasta quickly asked before getting on her knees beside him. She felt terrible and awfully clumsy. This was supposed to be romantic, not painful. *** Well, he was certainly being swept off his feet. David saw Shasta’s expression as he slowly slipped off the swing. She felt so bad so quickly, he wondered how she’d feel if he really got hurt. Maybe he could pretend for a moment things were a little worse than they were. As she knelt beside him, he closed his eyes and moaned, and she did what he hoped she’d do. She leaned even closer, he could tell from her concerned voice getting closer. He opened his eyes quickly and before she could move he grabbed her with his hand pulling her down. He raised his head to meet her lips for a surprise kiss. *** He was in trouble now. He had taken advantage of her concern. She came up for air and said, “Next time I’ll remember that your head is as hard as stone and you don’t need rescuing.” Instead of getting up and walking away, she moved closer. She slid one leg over his body so she was sitting on his chest. She put one hand on each side of his head, and lowered herself hoping for another fantastic kiss. She got the kiss and it was better than her imaginings in her dream or her showers. *** He hoped that she would rescue him many more times. If this was foreshadowing for what it would be like in bed, he was even more ready for it than last night. Two Dreams Ch. 03 ***She had loved how they had parted last night and wondered if she could keep her mind and hands off of David all that day. After the park they returned to an empty parking lot at the restaurant and they realized that if the restaurant was closed it was pretty late. He had parked his car next to hers and alighted from his car as she did. They started what was going to be a long good-bye as she opened the door but couldn't make herself get in. ***He was wide awake as soon as he remembered that last night had gone better than he hoped and when he realized he would be seeing her again soon. He remembered the park. He remembered driving her to her car while really wanting to drive her here to his bed. He had settled for more kisses though even after she opened her door like she was going to leave. The kiss was a long one. They'd moved beyond the shyness and were now exploring each other's mouth, bodies, skin. She had backed into the closed backdoor of the car and with the car behind her their bodies were able to be closer and tighter together. He was so turned on by Shasta he was sure she could feel how hard he was getting between their bodies. ***She had started getting wet earlier when his tongue had searched her mouth but that long kiss at the car put her engine in high gear and she could feel the wetness on her panties. She had lifted her leg to wrap around David's leg and pull him even closer. Both wearing jeans she wasn't sure how his body was reacting but she assumed he was. He was quiet even as her purring started. Her purr turned into a moan when his hand reached her breast and caressed it outside her clothes. His hands turning her on. Her hands ran through his hair and her arms drew them close. She wanted to be closer to him but wanted it to be more special than a parking lot. She had whispered to him between kisses that they needed to stop. More accurately she had said, 'Stop soon." He stole one more kiss and then slowly released her. She moved into her seat and rolled down the window to thank him for a wonderful evening. ***He couldn't believe he was being thanked for the evening when she was the one that had made it so special. The kiss leaning against the car took their physical limit to the next step. He knew he was hooked and would wait if waiting was what she wanted until they made complete love. He would fly her to the moon if that's what she wanted. But he wasn't going to wait much longer for one of those kisses. ***Thoughts of David were on Shasta's mind as she entered work. She knew she couldn't wait until their planned evening together for another kiss and so she would think of a secluded place she could drag him off to. She hadn't ever had to look for such a place before and as she walked around she looked with new eyes wondering about each spot and it's potential for a make-out session. She had it narrowed down to a conference room that belonged to another company but which was opened and closed with their key, and the cleaning closet. Both rooms could be locked from inside. Both had the risk of someone else using the key to get in. She went so far as to find out the cleaning schedule to see if someone would use that closet during lunch time. She had decided on using the cleaning closet for lunch time today. She'd save the conference room possibilities for a time when fewer people would be around and they could really take advantage of the room and sturdy table. She was sure there would be a reason to work late before too much more time passed. She was glad that David hadn't arrived yet. She wrote him a note in his box that said, "Kiss, kiss, and more kisses on your desk." Then the note on his desk said, "Kiss, Kiss, and for more kisses meet me at the cleaning supplies closet at 12:05" and she hadn't signed it. He had better know who it was from. She was now free to think about work again. ***David wondered if Shasta had thought about him as much as he thought about her. Yes, seeing the note in his box, he figured she had. He walked into their team room and noticed her sitting at her desk already working. He watched her but hurried to his desk although he thought he'd burst if he had to wait to hear her voice again. The note on his desk made him realize that she was not only thinking of him, but also wanting his kisses. He wondered if he could wait until noon. Maybe he would have to wait for kisses but he couldn't wait to hear her voice. He walked to her desk noticing her outfit. She wore nice khaki slacks, and a peach shirt with buttons and a collar. He wondered what was underneath that outfit. Had she dressed in any kind of lingerie in hopes of things going well today or tonight? He pulled over a chair from the neighboring desk, wishing that was his own desk. They both smiled silly smiles as each other before talking. ***She wasn't going to complain about this gorgeous guy interrupting her work. He started by saying he had a wonderful time the evening before. "I did too," Shasta replied, "Did you get my note?" He looked around before answering. He pulled the chair closer and whispered, "I will be there and I want you ready to be kissed, and I want to make you wet for me." Shasta blushed, realizing at the same time all the advantages she hadn't previously considered of having a boyfriend at work in such close proximity. "I've got more of what we started last night and I plan on making you embarrassed of the hard-on you'll get from our time together." Had she really said that? She could hardly look him in the eye. "Go away and let me work, you are such a distraction." ***Her words to him had been so sexy he could feel his body react to her already. He wasn't going to deny that she had that power over his body. "My walking away from you, isn't going to keep me from being distracted by you." He heard her giggle and saw her blush again. He walked away pleased with how this day had started. He didn't think of much else except her all that morning. ***Shasta's thoughts flew back to David and she looked for him around the room, but was glad for this large chunk of time this morning to organize things at her desk and do more research for this library. She managed to get herself absorbed into her work at least until 11:30, then she lost it and was looking at the clock evening minute. She left for the kitchen to eat her lunch, but still had time to spare. She wanted to be waiting for him so left for the cleaning closet early, locking the door behind her. She moved some things around to give them more room. She thought about his touches last night and started to touch herself. It was an easy decision to know she was going to reach under his shirt today and hoped that he'd reach under hers. She turned off the light and unlocked the door when it was close to time. She was longing for him. ***He showed up at the door one minute early and wasn't sure if she would be waiting. He opened the door and saw it dark and was ready to reach for the light when a voice whispered to him, "Come inside without turning on the light." He very quickly obeyed, enjoying her plan. He figured if she wanted the lights off then she was probably going to be open to going farther physically even than last night. He didn't know where she was and let her reach for him. The hands came without delay on his chest with feeling him from the waist up to pull him to her so the kissing could start. He had missed these kisses all morning. He quickly got excited from her touching him, her kissing and his own anticipation. Neither wanted it slow between them; their lusts were too intense. He felt more than desire, he was feeling a need for her. ***She pulled him with her as she backed up to the wall. She made the first move to give him permission to go farther then they had before. She pulled his shirt out of his pants and reached under it to caress his skin. Going this next step with David's tongue searching her mouth made her wet and she felt the wetness soak her panties. David read her mind and gently tickled his fingers on her waist line above her pants. She giggled as his fingers tickled her skin. She was getting caught up in the feeling and forgetting to keep her own fingers pleasing him. ***He didn't meet any resistance as he started under her shirt. In fact the moan encouraged him to explore more quickly. He explored her waist front and back, going up from there and even tickling lower in the back. He was going slow feeling like a blind man exploring something new, until she whispered, "The buttons would make it easier." He whispered, "You read my mind." He wanted in and wanted in quickly. He stopped kissing so he could quickly undo all the buttons. Her inhibition seemed lost as she let him open her shirt and push it over her shoulders. His skin burned as he touched her skin on her breast. He felt with two hands, one on each breast. With his thumb he rubbed her skin, with his other fingers he felt a lacy bra, and squeezed them with his full hands. ***Having made the decision before, it was easy to encourage him to enjoy her breasts. She was glad she had picked out her black lacy bra and underwear, not that he could see the color in this darkness. She usually felt her breasts were a nice large size but they certainly didn't feel that way with his large hands on them. She hoped he was pleased. She was already imagining his lips sucking on her nipples. She was about to reach for him to enjoy his kisses again when he lowered his head. He didn't try for her nipples yet but just licked along the line where her bra met the skin. Quickly accomplished he found her mouth again. ***He wanted to work her into a frenzy with his treatment of her breasts and enjoyed Shasta sucking on his lips. His hands were rough where her breasts strained out of her bra, massaging them and kneading them. He reached one finger under the bra, touching her nipple, and heard himself moan at the feel. He was in heaven and was going deeper. He felt her shrug off her shirt but could barely hear it land. Now he had a clear line to her bra and reached behind her to undo the straps. He couldn't find a clasp but enjoyed the trip back to the front only to find it there. It unsnapped easily. He wondered what color it was but as she shrugged it off her shoulder, he quickly lost that thought. His hands only felt her soft silky skin. He played with them and wanted to never let go. Only one thing could be better and that's feeling those breasts in his mouth. ***She was moaning softly as he kneaded her breasts first with, then without the bra. Her moan was loud when his lip's first found her nipple, he licked it and started sucking almost immediately. With his head lower now, she ran her fingers over and over through his hair. She tossed back her head. Her hands directed him. His touches were too soft and gentle, she wanted it harder. She pushed his head into her and commanded, "Suck harder, be rough." As she roughed up his hair, dragging her fingers through his hair over and over, she pushed him to the other breast. It was feeling lonely. She wished she should have thought to bring a chair into the room to provide more comfort. They would have to do this more another time with her sitting on his lap rubbing on him. Thinking of rubbing she realized she had been neglecting him. She had gotten lost in his touches. ***He was listening to this woman respond to his touches and was incredibly turned on. He could feel his heat and wanted to let his cock out for her to touch. She must have read his thoughts because she directed his head away from her breasts and he found his mouth on hers again. Her hands now not running through his hair were moving lower. She felt and easily found his hardness through his pants. She rubbed him, and he imagined she could feel more than his size, but also his heat. She didn't move into his pants but she had accomplished her goal. How would he leave the room with such an obvious bulge? He wanted it to go on but had to ask in a whisper, "How much more time do we have?" Her watch had a light. She reluctantly turned it on. ***It had been a while since she's had such an effect on a guy and been able to enjoy the effects. She was surprised that she was getting turned on by rubbing him. She felt very naughty. After feeling his heat she knew he wasn't asking the time to get away from her. Her watch provided a small light in the dark room, and she grumbled as she realized they had already been in there 30 minutes. If they were gone too much longer someone might wonder where they were after eating their lunch so long ago. "I'll leave the room in five minutes, and you can take longer than that, if you need." He couldn't see but on her face was a big grin. He could probably hear it in her voice. After feeling his cock through his pants she longed to wrap herself around him, to get her pussy as close to his heat as possible. She pulled him close to her. Standing on one leg she pulled him close to her with her hands and one leg wrapped around his leg. ***Their bodies felt close. He could smell her, feel her, hear her. He wanted more. He reached behind her and slid his hands down under the material of her slacks and slid lower until he felt her ass cheeks. Naked skin against his hand. He squeezed and rubbed her, her skin was hot. She made him more hot by sliding her leg and whole body up and down his body. His imagination already had her in bed with not even the sheets between them. ***She wanted him so distracted he couldn't get any work done. She would consider her job finished for now, and knew she could test the results later in the evening. They hadn't said much to each other except for sharing moans, but she now described how she was feeling. She told him that her pussy was wet and dripping, that she was incredibly turned on, that she could still feel the heat of his tongue in her mouth and the heat of his hands on her breasts. She reached down and fumbled around for her dropped clothing. He helped her put it back on, which slowed down the process but made it more fun. She fixed her hair as much as she could. She took his face in her hand and kissed him with intensity. She slipped out of the room leaving the light off and quickly found her way to a bathroom. ***She had left so quickly he hadn't had time to tell her how he felt. He let himself feel it intensely after locking the door again. He had come prepared with a handkerchief, and pulled it out. His fingers were quick to release the tension on his cock to give it room, and mostly to stroke it. It didn't take much until he was ready. He moaned her name as he came into the handkerchief, hoping that the next time he got this hot he would be moaning Shasta's name to her. He cleaned up and tried to fix his hair. The bathroom was his first stop. ***She needed a bathroom for more than just cleaning up. She hoped the bathroom would be deserted so she could finish off what David had started. She loved the heat and wetness that she felt immediately after touching herself in one of the stalls. Se lifted her shirt to relive how her breasts felt and rubbed her clit and pussy until she orgasmed. She was loosing all inhibition. She couldn't wait until this evening and the evening after that and the evening after that. Two Dreams Ch. 04-05 Chapter Four ***Shasta felt like a giddy middle schooler with her first guy. David was so much better looking, and a better kisser than...what was his name...oh yes, Shwartz. Back then she thought it didn't get any better than shy, sweet Shwartz. She was glad she hadn't held onto that belief too long. She floated back to her desk, all smiles. If she kept this up her teammates would clearly read, "I'm falling in love," written on her forehead. ***David had moaned out her name. He may never get work done ever again. He'd be fired because he couldn't concentrate and it would be her fault. She had accomplished her goal. He wasn't sure he'd tell her and give her the satisfaction of knowing that just yet. Even his last girlfriend...what was her name...who cares what her name was...didn't have this much control over his thoughts and life. Before she had been a distraction, now Shasta was more like an invasion. One he was enjoying very much. He sat at his desk turning often to her desk to watch her read, move, and think. He pretended to work but knew he wasn't tricking himself. ***Shasta worked with a smile most of the afternoon. She'd get some work done, and then doodle on her paper, and catch herself, and get back to work. He looked good, as she stole glimpses across the room, and each glimpse reminded her how good he looked. As time passed she was surprised that her pulse rate that naturally elevated from the lunch time rendezvous, hadn't decreased, and a headache was approaching. She ignored it, and walked to David's desk before leaving to get plans for the evening. "Are we on for this evening?" ***"That's all I've been able to think about all afternoon" David answered. David was rewarded by an innocent smile from Shasta. "Can I spoil you tonight?" Shasta said she wasn't up for a big night but she did want to see him, how about movie and popcorn? He liked that idea as there were things he wanted to do in the dark with her. They planned to meet at the 34th street theatre, and hope there was something playing they both wanted to see. ***David called Shasta at home half an hour before they were supposed to meet at the theatre. Shasta couldn't answer the phone because she was curled up on the bathroom floor with nausea flooding her stomach for the second time. This couldn't be happening. What was wrong? Why was she sick? She felt ugly, smelly, sick, cold, and hot. She had hoped she would get better, at least enough to go out and sit through a movie, but this wasn't going away. She threw up a second time, feeling at least temporarily relieved from the nausea. ***David was surprised Shasta hadn't answered. He had wanted to be a gentleman and had decided to check out the movies at the theatre to call her, so that if she wasn't interested in any, then they could try another theatre. "Maybe she was just in the bathroom," he thought and called again. Shasta answered, but when he told her his plan she started almost crying. "I'm sorry David, I can't come, I've got some bug and am not feeling well. Can we reschedule?" She sounded terrible. How long had she been sick, and not called him? He wanted to help, he wanted to be with her. The questions surprised him as it popped out of his mouth. ***"No, you can't come over here!" Shasta cried into the phone. She was a mess, there's no way David would see her like this. They'd only had one real date, well maybe two, or maybe three. She sat on the floor with the phone in her hands too drained to stand or move to a chair. "Good Night David, we'll reschedule tomorrow." She quickly hung up the phone before she could change her mind. She didn't want to worry about how she looked or acted tonight. ***Shasta would obviously need some taking care of through this sickness, and he wanted to be the one doing it. Couldn't she see that? He called back almost immediately. The phone rang and rang in his ear, he was obviously being a bother. David hung up missing Shasta more now that a lonely evening stretched ahead of him. ***Often when she lay in her bed sick she had longed for someone to take care of her like she'd seen her father do for her mother, like her mother had done for her. Now David's second call showed that she could have enjoyed that. Although she loved being with David she was still afraid if David saw her at her worst that he would be disgusted by what he saw and flee. She put her hand on the receiver as it rang but never picked it up. The ringing stopped and Shasta's thoughts turned to a warm shower and comfortable bed. Chapter Five ***David resisted calling Shasta in the morning not wanting to wake her, thinking he could call at 10 am or so and ask to come over for lunch. But as he walked into work thinking he might get some work done for a change without distraction, he saw Shasta was already working at her desk. He wished she'd stayed in bed to get some extra rest, but here she was, maybe it was just a 24 hour flu. He pulled up a chair beside her desk, to make plans for the evening, asking her how she was feeling. ***Shasta smiled as she heard David's voice as he talked to a team mate across the room. Hearing his strong voice made her forget for a moment what a terrible decision she had made by coming into work that day. She felt great when she woke up having slept well, but after eating a light breakfast her weakness and a slight nausea had returned. How would she get through the day? At least at work she'd be close to David, and at home she'd be alone. That was a good reason to stay. Now she heard David's voice call her name and she couldn't help smiling as she saw David's face. ***It was obvious that Shasta hadn't returned to health over night. She said she was feeling fine, but her movements were sluggish, her face pale, and her eyes seemed unable to focus quickly. David knew Shasta was independent and could make up her own mind about being at work, but he worried for her and wanted to take care of her. He would watch her throughout the morning to see if she was really as 'fine' as she claimed. To be honest he would have watched her anyway. ***For Shasta the morning passed slowly and she considered heading home but each time she looked over and saw David's smiling face, she decided to stay. When Kristal announced the team meeting and trip to the Daytolla Elementary School she wasn't sure if that would help her keep her mind off her illness or make it harder to pretend she was fine. She sat in on the meeting but couldn't get her mind to stay ahead of the conversation and just barely followed along. ***Now David was worried. Shasta usually had ideas about everything at their team meetings but now she was silent following the discussion only with her eyes. He wondered if he could talk her into going home. She seemed determined to stay so probably not. After the meeting, he approached Kristal quietly, asking permission to take Shasta home. Fortunately, Kristal had also noticed that Shasta was out of sorts. ***Shasta stood at her desk not able to decide what she should and shouldn't take for this trip to the Daytolla Elementary School. She stared at her pile of work knowing it was important but not remembering why. David's voice interrupting her thoughts scared her as he asked, "Do you want to drive together? Kristal wants us to take our own cars so we can leave separately." This was strangely different but she didn't have energy to question it so she grabbed her keys and they walked to the parking garage. ***They walked to the cars quietly, and David reached into his pocket. "Shasta I seem to have left my keys upstairs." She offered the use of her car. David's plan seemed to be working. He took the keys out of her hand, volunteering to drive before Shasta could fight. As they pulled out of the garage, David explained that he thought Shasta was still sick and he wanted to take her home and tuck her into bed, if she'd just give him directions to her house. ***Shasta got tears in her eyes realizing that David had read her mind, and was making sure she'd get home safely. He deserved a kiss for that later. "Won't the team be expecting us at the school?" She still felt an obligation to do her part. "Kristal knows you're sick and agreed that I could take a side trip to take you home and then meet them there a bit late." David had thought of everything, but was she ready to have David know where she lived? She trusted David not to abuse the knowledge but were they getting too close too quickly? ***"So, I'm being kidnapped, is that right?" David could hear the hint of laughter in the words. David replied taking her hand, "That's right, you're all mine, and don't you forget it." Unfortunately, the road was too busy for the kiss that he would have liked to plant on her lips right then. It would have to wait. She gave him directions to her home. ***She wondered if she pretended to be really sick or fall asleep if he'd carry her inside and snuggle with her a while. Nope, it was just better to keep a little distance. Her emotions were already out of control and having this fabulous man offer to look after her in her sickness was breaking down her barriers. She walked with him to the door, but didn't let him in. She wasn't ready for him to see her sick, in bed and exposed. ***David had longed to see her apartment, carry her to the bed, tuck her in, bring her a drink, and maybe even cuddle with her as she fell asleep. He barely had the time to fit in one quick kiss before he got shooed away. Fortunately, he had her car and car keys and had a good excuse to return them to her later. With Shasta safe in bed at home and not across the room, he was less distracted and for the first time since his amazing dream he got lots of work done. ***For the second time that day he drove to Shasta's place, and this time he stopped at the video rental, florist and Chinese take-out, before showing up at her door. He knocked lightly but no one answered. The key ring in his hand had other keys attached. He tried the keys, and was surprised that the door slipped open on his second attempt. He peeked in, calling her name. Still no movement or noise. She was obviously still asleep in the bedroom, and so he took a moment to look around the apartment as he made his way to the kitchen. He guessed that she hadn't eaten all day and could use some nourishment. The kitchen had dishes piled up, and he washed the dishes while waiting for sounds from the bedroom so he wouldn't scare her. He set out plates, hoping she liked Chinese, and set the flowers in a vase. Still no movement from the bedroom, so he peeked in the door and saw her fast asleep. Could a kiss wake her up? Was he selfish for wanting her awake? He watched her for a while first. Her long hair was all spread out around the pillow, she lay on her side almost curled into a ball, her mascara was smudged under her eyes, so he knew she had just dropped into be hours before. She slept in a queen size bed with the blue bed cover half dropped to the floor and only the sheet pulled up to cover her. His thoughts started straying the longer he stood there. What would it be like to wake up beside this beautiful face tomorrow morning? In his mind he was waking her by kisses, his hand wondering over her body, and his body rubbing on hers. He could handle waking up next to her every morning. The depths of his thoughts surprised him and he strove to collect himself. ***The kiss came into her dreams, pulling her from her deep but fitful sleep. She started to smile enjoying the kiss, before reality made her realize that she was home alone and thus being kissed was not a good thing. She jerked awake pushing the kiss and kisser away from her, defending herself as quickly as she could. The sleep drifted from her eyes as she saw the figure fall backwards. ***David was completely caught off guard so he half slid and half fell onto the floor. Shasta was stronger than he would have guessed. What was he thinking letting himself into Shasta's apartment? Now he'd be in jail instead of in the bed. That was stupid. Afraid of Shasta's further vengeance he called out, "It's just me, David." ***It was David? That explained why she had enjoyed the kiss at first, but what was he doing in her bedroom? Was he a stalker or what? "David, What are you doing in my bedroom?" She yelled out at him as he stood from where he had fallen. She was still stunned from her abrupt awakening and didn't care if she was being rude. "Shasta, I'm sorry to scare you, I just wanted to see if you were okay, and I knew you wouldn't let me in if I called, so I just used the keys from the car key ring to let myself in. It was stupid, I'm sorry, but I just missed you." The words flooded out and she thought how well the repentant look fit him. She couldn't help but smiling at him and his words. "I suppose that's a good reason but," her face turned to attempt to look angry, "now get out of my room." ***He slumped out of the room, his cheeks blazing red. At least she hadn't kicked him out of the house. Maybe he should just leave. No, he needed to try to make up for his mistake. He should have tried knocking louder. He sat quietly waiting for Shasta to appear. ***She laughed to herself as she remembered the repentance in his expression. "He really shouldn't look so adorable when I'm trying to be mad at him," she thought. She realized that now that he was here she wanted to look good for him. She took her time getting dressed, how embarrassing that he had seen her so scruffy from sleeping. It's a wonder he hadn't run the other way instead of kissing her. She tried to look angry when she left her room searching for him. She saw him sitting casually on her couch with fresh daisies on the coffee table in front of him. She smelled something cooking. Surely he hadn't also seen her messy kitchen. How embarrassing! She forgot all about looking angry and sat beside him. When he started to apologize she responded, "Next time just wait for an invitation." ***David started to apologize again, but Shasta's angry look disappeared and she leaned forward and kissed him lightly on the cheek. He would wait as long as it took to get that invitation. Shasta seemed to enjoy the daisies, as they asked each other about their day. Both were tired from their day and so David let Shasta pick a movie. He was relieved that Shasta enjoyed Chinese food and even used the chopsticks well. It had been a good choice. They watched the movie together at first just holding hands, but as they got comfortable Shasta snuggled into David putting her head on his lap. David lost track of the movie as he enjoyed watched Shasta's profile, and enjoyed unclipping Shasta's hair and running his fingers through it. ***Shasta rubbed his leg while David stroked her hair. Instead of spending the evening alone like so many other nights, here was David going the extra mile to take care of her. The message spoke to her deeper than any words or kisses they had shared. Maybe David was serious about her. She got distracted from the movie enjoying the sensual touches on her skin. She let her body relax and mind melt into thoughts of David with the movie just in the background for the evening. The night didn't end without kisses and more kisses. David was a gentleman and reminded Shasta of her illness. "I want you to be healthy so I'm going to leave, and pick up where we left off hopefully tomorrow." Shasta was sad to see him leave, but knew he was right. She lay back in bed, not sleeping right away because of her long nap. She realized that if David hadn't cut things short, she might have opened the invitation into her bedroom that very night. Now away from the safety of David's arms she started getting afraid. Why should she believe the dream that had started this whole thing. Her dream had left her vulnerable, and maybe she wasn't ready for a serious relationship? How could she trust David anyway? What did she truly know about him? Her fear about doing the right thing now that she was alone filled her, and she wished she could sleep. How dare David come in here and take over? How dare he cause her to feel? How dare the words "I love you" be so close to her lips every time he was near? She fell asleep succumbing to her own fears and finally her dreams. ***David had called a taxi the night before even though he wanted to stay and take care of Shasta. That was the truth, as much as he wished the invitation had been to join her in her bed, more than that he wanted to help her, make sure she was okay, and take care of her. Was that a sign that Shasta was the ONE? He wasn't going to judge that yet, but was going to enjoy what ever was to come. Life at work was busy. Shasta came in for half the day, and begged off seeing him that evening because she was 'just going to go and sleep.' He was disappointed, but wanted her better so didn't protest. The next day she came in for the full day, and was looking back to her healthy self. He hoped they'd be a note from her proposing another rendezvous in the closet or something even more spicy. But no note came. Shasta seemed happy to see him, but begged off the next night as well. Work was busier than ever and he didn't push. ***Shasta's heart turned a flip every time she looked at David or heard his voice. But she let her fears about what could go wrong with David take over her mind when he approached her and tried to talk about spending more time together. On the third night she said yes, because she did want to see him and had missed him, but she would be in control this time. ***David was waiting for the perfect night to take his Shasta out for an expensive evening on the town and spoil her but the timing just didn't seem right. He couldn't figure out if he had done something wrong. Maybe she really hadn't forgiven him for walking into her bedroom? When she agreed to go out with him again he was nervous again feeling like he needed to win her over again. Shasta chose the fairgrounds for their date. They walked hand in hand, and enjoyed the games together but each time he asked to sit so they could talk, she kept moving them onto the next activity. Her kisses were quick pecks. The difference from the nights before spoke to him that something was wrong. She wouldn't stop to talk or rest, she just kept moving. The best thing that happened was that she'd agreed to go into the photo booth with him. Tucked in his wallet was a picture of the two of them together looking happy. The next day was hectic at work. David had thought with them at the school site they would have plenty of time together. But their expertise was different and they hardly saw each other all day. Shasta spent the day handling a meeting with the teachers, discussing their ideas for the library and researching catalogs. David spent the day phoning distributors getting proposals. David was disappointed that Shasta didn't seek him out once the whole day, even though she seemed happy to see him. ***David had asked her again for this evening. She had agreed as long as they drove separately. Why did it matter if she drove or not? For some reason it did. She needed a shield, something between her and David and these feelings that flooded her heart about this new man in her life. She needed to back away and put some distance between them. She felt herself falling out of control and couldn't handle it. ***David knew Shasta was pulling back. How could he have been so sure just four nights ago? So much so that he'd discussed with his mom about a new, beautiful, amazing woman in his life. He'd even asked if they could meet her. His Mom had thought she sounded perfect, which had only fueled his interest. Now with Shasta pulling back, he knew he'd have to as well. If she walked away, no denying his heart would be broken, but maybe he could keep it from shattering. Seeing her again that evening at the restaurant brought tears to his eyes as he watched her and thought of her slipping away. They chatted casually through supper mostly discussing work, her health and the weather. She still laughed at his jokes and looked as sexy as ever, but the depth they had built was missing. David decided he couldn't handle being led on, and approached the subject with her. Two Dreams Ch. 04-05 ***Shasta at first denied that anything was wrong, growing irritated with David for pushing the subject. She needed to clear her head, and pushed away from the table quickly. She walked to her car, not really wanting the evening to end, not wanting to push David away but knowing she had just done that. She had sent a clear message to him and now wished she could take it all back. She stood at her car not able to walk back to David, but also not able to drive away. ***David was sure Shasta would be gone by the time he collected his confused thoughts and paid the bill. While opening his wallet he forced himself not to look at the beautiful face that he'd looked at often. He should have waited a few more days. At least that way he would have had the extra time of just being with her. But he'd pushed her now, and pushed her away. He was surprised to see her standing at her car. Would walking to her push her away even more? He had to try. He stood next to her without touching her also leaning against the car. "I'm sorry I brought up our relationship, but your quick reaction to my question makes me think that we do have something to talk about." He watched for a reaction to his words out of the corner of his eye. ***Shasta was relieved David had walked over, and wanted to hug him and not let him go. How could she have two such opposite reactions within minutes to this wonderful man? She turned away from him as tears started forming in her eyes. The tears threatened often these days as she realized she was pushing David away. Before she could collect herself David started walking away. ***David realized that he was no expert on women or on Shasta. She seemed remote but not hostile so he had approached. She'd turned away, and so he walked away wondering if he'd ever hold Shasta in his arms again. "David," the voice that called to him was choked with tears. He turned not trusting his instincts to make the right decision as to what to do next. Shasta held out one hand to him, inviting him back, while her other hand wiped her eyes. He went to her, and hugged her, and held her while she cried. This time he'd just hold her quietly. He remembered his dream, how he'd held his sexy Shasta in his arms, making love to her. Now he just hoped that holding her would help ease what ever was aching in heart. ***David's arms enclosed her and her tears spilled onto his shirt. She couldn't help but cry. It wasn't a storm of tears, but slow, soft sobs coming from deep inside her. She remembered the dream she'd had of David. David had been her safety then, and he'd been her safety when she was sick. Could he be trusted with her heart? The arms around her assured he that she could. Her sobs stopped, but her voice was still thick with tears, "David, I'm sorry. I'm scared. Things between us were moving quickly, and you were so perfect. I just started falling for you faster and harder than I've fallen for anyone. I didn't...well, I don't know if...I don't understand...What I'm trying to say is that I'm having a hard time giving you my heart. You probably have no idea what an impact you've made on my life." As the words gushed out she felt she shouldn't be touching him while she spoke. She pulled away, standing close to him but with her arms wrapped around herself. "I think about you all the time, I miss you when we're apart, and life has just been out of control, and I got scared and didn't know how to act around you any more." There she'd said it, not that it made any sense, but that's the most sense she could make of her confused feelings right then. ***David felt Shasta pull out of his arms as she talked. He tried to remain silent until she was done. This was something she needed to say. He'd been prepared for hearing her say that she was done with him, and that things were over, but hadn't guessed that it was her strong feelings for him that had caused this conflict. She was saying that she was giving him her heart, that she was falling for him. Four days ago, her kisses had given hints of her strong emotions, but the distance she'd put between them had left him unsure. "Shasta we're together in this. I'm falling for you. No, I have fallen for you. You are my first thought in the morning and the last at night, and fill most of the moments in between. I told my Mom, that I was crazy about you. Everything I buy, I wonder if you'd like it. When you were sick, I wanted to take care of you. I was so worried that today you were going to say you were breaking up with me, but instead you're telling me that maybe you love me at least a percentage of how I love you." He took her face in his hands, the words flooding out smoothly now as he knew that the time was right. "Shasta, I love you." ***Her fears disappeared as the sound of his voice seeped into her consciousness breaking through the fog that had held her captive since her illness. She could share her love with this man. She would put this fear behind her, she would do it. "I trust you and love you David." A deep toe-tingling kiss sealed the first declarations of their love. Two Dreams Ch. 06 Chapter Six *** She couldn’t stop smiling all the way to work even as she walked up the stairs to work. The first time she had dreamt of David she had been confused at all the emotions she was feeling before giving in to the safety the dream led her to. But last nights dream of David left her smiling and distracted. She hoped she would see David soon. She climbed the stairs every day now since that day she climbed the stairs to get away from David. The stairwell was quiet except for her footsteps, and visions from her dream filled her mind again, and she didn’t try to stop them. She was gazing down into the water from the ledge of a boat, anxiously waiting for something. She didn’t know what until David’s head broke through the water. He was gasping for air, and frantically grabbed the edge of the boat. She reached for him, and helped him up the underwater steps. Before he was even to the top he was kissing her. She felt and gave in to the urgency that came from thinking he wasn’t going to come up out of the water. Yes, her desire was for him. *** David walked slowly to the elevator to ride up. He was lost in his own world not registering details around him. His thoughts were on his dream about Shasta, and trying to avoid her until he had more time to think about it. He saw that she wasn’t at her desk yet and quickly made his way to his desk to start working and at least look busy. He sat down and soon realized he had forgotten to check his box, but he didn’t want to get up and come face to face with Shasta or anyone. Instead he thought about his dream, what did it mean, if anything? It had seemed so real. He stood in the line at the bank waiting for the teller. Why was he there? When he got to the window and he still a loan. The face told him that he would have to ask the boss, and so he was sent to another window. The window was different but he got the same answer to his request. He went to an office, the face different but the answer was the same. The dream continued like that to other offices down long hall ways. He didn’t feel angry, just lost. At what seemed like the twentieth office he was told to go upstairs. The stair case must have led ten stories up because he walked and walked but didn’t tire. He passed some doors on the way but when he tried them they were all locked. At the top of the stairs the office door opened to his touch. He walked in and stated his request. The face that looked up at him was Shasta’s, but she didn’t recognize him. He recognized her but didn’t try to talk to wake up her recognition. She asked him questions about the loan, but didn’t have too many before she told him the loan was accepted, and shook his hand. The dream seemed to have ended then, although the whole thing was fuzzy. Why was he even looking for a meaning in his dream? He had never cared before? He opened the file on his computer where he’d written about his first dream, the one that had started his falling in love with Shasta. Maybe that’s what the dream was telling him, that he had been looking for a long time but in Shasta he had found what he was looking for. He closed his eyes and felt again how her body felt pressed against his in the cleaning closet. He was overwhelmed with a desire to see her, but when he turned she still wasn’t at her desk. He pulled the picture out of his wallet. As he gazed at it he remembered how she’d cried while she told him about the hurt she experienced in leaving teaching. He wondered where she’d prefer to work? She still wasn’t at her desk. Looking at the time he realized hardly any time at all had really passed. He wanted tonight to be her night. He was going to spoil her and e started thinking about where he could take her to. He started to turn to find out who was around that he could ask when he saw Shasta approaching him. *** She couldn’t wait any longer to see him, and was glad he was already sitting at his desk. She dropped her stuff at her desk, and wandered casually to his desk while saying, “Good Morning,” to others. He turned and saw her at that moment and a smile took over her face. “I missed you last night after we said good bye,” Shasta wanted to show him how much she’d missed him, but instead just pulled over an empty chair. “I missed you so much I had a dream about you,” David replied, “You owned a bank and gave me loan.” “Wow, that’s strange because I dreamt of you too, but it was much more erotic than yours.” The smile never moved from her face as she talked. “Will you tell me about it?” David asked. “Not until I get you alone and get a good-morning kiss.” Shasta blushed because her thoughts were going much farther than just a kiss. “Tell you what, I’m in the middle of something. How about I finish it up, then I need to go check my box. I forgot to check it this morning because I was distracted by thoughts of you, and you can come with me and distract me some more. Sound good?” David asked. “Don’t keep me waiting too long,” she pouted and grudgingly walked away. *** David turned back to his desk and thoughts of the evening. He saw a friend at his desk, and got the scoop on a great place to take Shasta. Then he called for early reservations so they’d have the whole evening together. He met Shasta at her desk and they talked and walked. “Any place we could go so I could steal some kisses?” He asked. “Hmm,” she grinned, “how about after checking your box you meet me in the neighboring conference room, the one close to the cleaning closet?” “Meet you there,” he replied as she walked away from him. *** She got to the room first. Her mind was filled with ideas as she saw the sturdy table in the middle of the room. That would have to wait for another time. All they had time for was kisses. She closed the blinds and turned off the lights. *** David didn't even look at his mail, he just went straight to the conference room. He opened the door and stepped in thinking she would grab him, but instead it was dark and still. He didn’t want to turn on the light but also didn’t want to miss a moment of being with Shasta. “Marco,” David called into the darkness. A stifled giggle preceded the whisper, “Polo.” He followed the voice slamming straight into the corner of the table, calling “Owww.” “Ow,” was the reply that went with the second giggle. “Can I spoil you tonight?” Even after last nights kisses he was still tongue tied around Shasta and was glad for the cover of darkness to cover his blushing. “Take you out to a fancy dinner?” “Hmmmhmm”, came the reply which indicated she was close by now. “I love...” he called as he made his way around the table following the voice and the shuffles. *** “You,” Shasta replied knowing that it was true, and letting David’s arms reach her. His arms encircling her waist. Her arms around his neck drawing him close. Their noses finding each other first in the darkness, then their lips. She felt his kisses intensely, then felt his tongue exploring her mouth. How quickly he ignited her fire. She loved how his tongue teased over her teeth, and she moaned into David’s mouth. Moaning again when his hands moved quickly over her body not spending time in any one spot but causing alarms to go off everywhere. David’s kisses moved down her neck heading the direction she wanted him to head, but she also knew they didn’t have time. “David, I’m going to regret this the moment I say it, but this is not the time,” her voice spoke but she made no effort to move him away. *** Shasta was right. He needed to walk away before he got in too deep. His kisses returned up her neck to her lips. “Can I pick you up at 6?” He asked between kisses. “I wish it were 6 already,” she replied before slipping out the door. Two Dreams Ch. 07-08 Chapter 7 *** Shasta was still rushing around when the doorbell rang. Oh, she’d wanted to be ready to greet him calm and collected, but then why stray from her usual pattern just to impress him? *** He stood waiting, and waiting, his nervousness building. He wanted the night to be perfect. His mind and body wandering to thoughts of what might happen that night, building the anticipation. She opened the door, and his mouth went dry. This woman was beautiful. The dress fit her snugly from shoulder to hip and then spread out falling to her heels. She didn’t seem to mind his looking so he took his time. The V neckline showed off more then just her curve. Her hair was down, and formed waves around her shoulders. Her make up light, the way he liked. He took a step toward her, changing his mind about taking her out. He wasn’t taking her anywhere. *** She grinned as she saw David’s reaction to her body. She took it as a compliment, even though the words had yet to come out. As he stepped towards her, she slipped past him and out the door. She was ready to be spoiled and wasn’t going to let him into her house or get into her dress that quickly. She grabbed his hand, walking down the stairs and out the door. *** He would have preferred having her to himself but now that she was leading the way he would be a faithful puppy dog and follow her anywhere. He almost forgot that he was the one that had made the plans for the evening and would need to drive her to their restaurant. *** The restaurant was at the top of the tallest building in town. She slipped her arm through his as they made their way up, and to their table. She stopped as she saw the lights of the town some close and some far. It was a beautiful setting for a beautiful evening, and her heart surged with joy. *** He watched her as her face lighted up from the sight before them. She was more beautiful than any view he could imagine. He didn’t deserve to have this woman on his arm but here she was. No waiter disturbed them until they moved silently to their seats. *** ”This is beautiful, thank you David!” “You are beautiful!” David responded. Shasta noticed the white wine already on table. David poured. “To you,” David toasted. “To us,” Shasta corrected “To us!” And their wine glasses clinked. *** They ordered their food. David remembered Shasta’s desire to taste his food and choose a cheese dish he had heard her mention before. While they waited for their food David asked, “I’m interested to know when you first started to get interested in me.” He had wanted to share his dream with her tonight but wanted to hear her side of the story first. “That’s so funny you would ask me that because I brought something I wanted you to read tonight,” she reached for her purse as she spoke, and handed the handwritten notes to him. “I had a dream about you and I wrote it down.” He read her story of her dream and was surprised that she’d dreamt of him. “When was this dream?” David questioned. Shasta giggled before she answered, “Hmm, it was the night before we got assigned over at Daytolla Elementary School. Remember what happened that evening?” Their food arrived and broke up their conversation. David wondered if it was possible that it was the same night as his dream. “I had a dream about you as well. I was going to tell you about it tonight.” David continued. “You won’t believe this but it was the same night as you say your dream was.” He told her about his dream, about how she had seduced him on his lap and then how amazing it was that she had ended up on his lap that very next night. David felt his excitement growing as he looked at this sexy woman and imagined that night in the van. *** Shasta could totally imagine herself acting like he had imagined her. She took a bite from David’s plate as she ate and listened. Her leg brushed up against his and instead of moving away she kept it touching his leg, rubbing it slightly with her toes. “So, you and I both had dreams about each other the same night and then ended up in each others arms that next night? That doesn’t seem possible. I don’t know if I believe you?” Shasta didn’t think he was lying but couldn’t believe it at the same time. *** “I can prove it. The same day you wrote this dream I typed up my dream on my computer at work. I can show you.” It was starting to sink in to David that something had been drawing them together. “So where did these dreams come from? I certainly always thought you were a great guy but you always seemed to have so many friends and I just never let myself get my hopes up about you. We were just friends.” “I felt the same way about you. You always look so happy, and I never see you socializing outside of work with other workers so I figured you had a hot boyfriend keeping you distracted. So I never asked.” David felt good admitting that he had wanted to ask her a long time ago. Shasta felt like it was a compliment and didn’t know what to say. “There hasn’t been a boyfriend for a while.” *** ”Until now right?” David asked with a wink. “Until now,” she repeated and leaned in to give him a kiss. They grabbed hands and held hands as they ate. Her foot, now making larger strokes against his leg, was distracting him. *** Shasta glanced out the window, and noticed the rain was making visibility difficult. “It’s raining.” “You had me so distracted I didn’t even notice.” David replied only glancing out the window. He stroked the skin on her hand with his thumb. In his mind he was stroking more than just her hand. “Did I already tell you that you are beautiful?” “Well, the dress and make-up make a big difference.” “I think you look sensational tonight, but you are always beautiful. I bet you are beautiful even without that dress. A sight I dream about, by the way.” He smiled and poured her third glass of wine. “Are you trying to loosen me up?” “I’m trying to enjoy a beautiful evening with my beautiful girlfriend.” *** She wished they were sitting closer so she could touch him more, and more. He was so far away on the other side of the table. “I love you David.” “I love you Shasta.” *** It seemed so right. He fit so well into her life. She would ask him to her place tonight and see if he would come. His question intruded on her thoughts. “So why did you leave teaching?” “I was disillusioned for starters.” Shasta shared her story of how she was feeling that she was leaving her life’s calling but was so disillusioned that she had trouble facing work day after day. She loved the children but regulations, and time constraints and poor leadership made each day feel like a baby sitter rather then a teacher. Each class had one or two parents that made life difficult. She had also needed more money than teaching provided to allow her to give money to her mother after her father died. David listened well. She appreciated that as she got tears in her eyes remembering how it had hurt to leave and how it had hurt to stay. “This job has been a good fit though,” she ended. *** As Shasta talked David realized that she was still a teacher at heart. He wanted to help her get back to her passion, and help her find a way to make it easier on her. Maybe a better school, maybe working part time. He also wanted to continue having Shasta in the same office. He had noted how strong that table looked while in the conference room. “What about you?” She interrupted his thoughts. “What’s your story.” *** ”I tried some other jobs but nothing has fit me at all like this job and I want to stay here. I did some computer work in a small office, then tried a big office. But just sitting at the computer all day wasn’t my interest, although I love working with computers. This job allows me to interact with people and computers and allows me to do unique problem solving.” David smiled as he talked about his work. Shasta’s leg started rubbing against his again and he was immediately distracted. *** Shasta wanted this man. She wanted him tonight. She wanted to share her love with him, to give him her gift of herself. She stood and walked around to him and whispered in his ear. “How about eating me for dessert at my place?” “Are you sure?” He forced himself to ask because once they started he didn’t think he’d be able to stop. “I’m sure!” It was still raining and they ran through the rain to his car. The thunder clapped louder than they heard in the restaurant as he started the car. *** A blast of cold air came out of the heater before the heat came out and Shasta shivered through her wet clothes. David leaned over to kiss her and heat them both up. They again ran through the rain towards her house, holding hands. They were both dripping as they entered the door. Was she shaking from the cold or from excitement? He kissed her immediately after closing the door needing her to warm him, to surround him. *** Their kiss was long and deep. Their tongues entangled. Their hands searching frantically to feel everything they could feel. Her body was sandwiched between the closed door and David’s body. Her wetness growing, not needing words, only groans to express her feelings. She pulled off his shirt and he massaged her breasts. Their hands reacquainting themselves with places they’d previously explored. She pushed him, gradually moving him towards the bedroom. She had kicked him out of the room once. This time she was certain she wanted him with her. “Please come in,” she gave her invitation and he followed her in. Movements becoming more frenzied, needing more, needing to give and receive the passionate heat that was roaring like a fire between them. She undid his pants while kissing, wishing her will alone could make the clothes separating them disappear. *** He had wanted under this dress the first moment he saw her in it. His leg started lifting the skirt to her hips, then his hands took over. The dress lifted as his hands explored higher and higher, barely skipping around her wetness. Their moans matched as the dress fell to the floor and they saw each other naked for the first time. Their hunger grew. *** She lay on the bed opening her legs in the best welcome he’d ever received. Their skin was still damp. Her long hair was still wet and stuck to her skin in places. He crawled onto the bed on all fours, moving towards her. They kissed some more while their naked bodies tested touching each other for the first time. He stopped kissing her lips and started moving lower. She wondered why the rain and thunder still seemed so loud even thought they were inside. She looked around and saw the window wide open, the floor by the window forming a puddle, and a light fog forming. No way she was getting up now. The thunder seemed to heighten her feelings. *** The rain pounded loudly in his ears, but he could still hear her moans. She was calling his name in a low sexy voice that was driving him crazy. He kissed her neck, her ear lobes, her breasts, sucking each one. He wanted the night to last forever but he also wanted her now, immediately. *** Her fingers were combing through his hair as he enjoyed her hard nipples and smooth skin. Her leg rubbing against his leg, their skin touching everywhere possible. *** He pulled away from her breast wanting to watch her face as his hand reached down; suddenly burying itself quickly between her legs. His fingers taking on the slickness of her desire. He carressed the lips lightly, the pressure of his hand increasing. He felt goose bumps forming on his skin from the cool breeze blowing from the window and watching Shasta’s body respond to his touches. *** She held her breath as he touched her. His hand felt so large as he mixed up her juices. One finger finding it’s way inside her and the rest of his hand placing pressure on her clit. She couldn’t keep her breathing steady, and her words turned into whimpers. “I’m wet and ready for you David,” she spoke between whimpers. “I want your thickness inside me. Filling me.” She lost track of her thoughts solely focused on the sensations he was creating inside her. *** He wanted her wetness surrounding him as well. He shifted his position preparing himself to penetrate her but before he could she grasped his shaft. *** She couldn’t resist this. She thought to caress it but her movements were rough feeling the softness of it but the hardness of the interior. She loved the feel of his length and width and that it was all just for her. She let him go, only because she wanted what was coming next. *** He reached down guided himself to slide into her. The rhythm slow at first as he just enjoyed watching her with her eyes closed, licking her lips. When she starting arching her hips to meet his, he increased his speed. His mind never more aware of his body, of the heights it could reach. The sight of her breasts bouncing increased his breathing even more. *** She squeezed around him stalling his movement for a moment until he plunged deeply into her, their bodies colliding. There was nothing except here and now, him and her. Her grunts and moans weren’t intentional but came as if she had no control over them. She rocked her hips, then swung her legs around him, their bodies coming together as one. *** Mutual delight. He moaned her name, the only thought that could penetrate through his bliss as the dam was released and he exploded inside of her as he ground into her. *** Her breath had already been stolen almost from the start. Her mind was stolen as he entered her. Now he stole her soul as she felt his heat rush into her, as she heard him call for her, and waves of pleasure surged through her body. Her body was thoroughly taken up. Chapter 8 They both let out a sigh as he slid out of her, their bodies remaining close. His arms now encircling her as they lay side by side still naked catching their breath. “Shasta, that was...perfect.” “Perfect,” she agreed before kissing him. They had become one, shared something so intimate, so special, they would never be the same. As the breathing slowed she started to be aware of the continued rain outside, and the cool air filling the room. As she shivered snuggled closer to David stealing his warmth. David for the first time noticed the open window and rain soaking the floor. He kissed Shasta and jumped out of bed as quickly as he could. Shasta pulled up the blankets, and quickly moved under them but leaving them open for David to join her. Shasta slid completely under the blanket and David followed pulling the blanket fully over them. It was mostly dark under the blankets and they felt around to find each other. They faced each other, legs intertwined, hands grasping. “Stay with me.” It was a question and a request and a statement in one. “This is my house, I’m not going anywhere.” Shasta replied with a giggle. “No, I mean STAY with me,” he asked again. “For how long?” “Forever.” David had never felt this in love and wasn’t going to let Shasta get away. “Forever!” She replied as she snuggled close to David wanting his kisses. Their lips found each other in the dark.
