It is a slow build up and not a lot of random sex from the start. I really want you to get to know the people in this tale. So, I hope you read this story and enjoy it. I want to thank the following people who helped me create this fantasy: LaRascasse, my editor for really helping me with this. Any mistakes found throughout this story are my own, and not a reflection on any of the people who helped. Again, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy it. * Joseph Yearly was an ornery old man who was as tough as old shoe leather. He didn't like people, had no friends, and vanished from his family over a decade ago. He was a loner. He only talked to people if it was about money. Once a month he conversed with the Bouvier girl that collected his rent and that was it. He liked that girl, and he almost regretted the stunt he had just pulled on his tenants. He sat on the train thinking about the events that led to this trip to Vegas. At sixty-nine years old, he'd lost everything that he had worked for his entire life. It's this damn economy.he mused. I worked for Baxter's Industry for the last thirty-eight years of my life and they just up and closed the company. Hell they even stole my pension and retirement. So what if those fuckers end up on the street, it really isn't my fault. Blame the president. He then turned sideways in his seat and tried to sleep, only to discover that sleep was elusive. Joseph Yearly was luckier than most, because he owned a small apartment building. Even though he'd lost his job, the income from the renters helped him stay afloat for a while after the company closed. Now, he was tired. For over two years he fought foreclosure, the loss of his job made his situation worse. Finally, the bank won and he had no choice but to surrender his properties. Fighting two mortgages, his medical bills, and legal fees, exhausted Joseph. He made a decision last month when the repossession actions started. He wouldn't say anything to his tenants, because then they might refuse to pay him. He'd collect this month's rent from them, acting as if everything was normal, give them receipts, and then get the hell out of town. He'd head to Vegas for a short vacation before showing up at his son's house. His boy was kindhearted like his mother. He'd be able to stay with him for a couple of weeks before he put him out. He'd use the I miss you son and want to spend time with you routine. That kid might fall for that crap, Joseph thought. He drove up to the apartment complex to speak with Dianna Bouvier about collecting the rent for the month. He wanted all of the payments in by the second of the month. Dianna had rented from him for a couple of years and he knew all of the tenants trusted her, so he had her to collect their rental payments and get them to him. His tenants knew he was money hungry and simply paid, no questions asked. Joseph collected gave them receipts and moved on as usual. Not even hinting that trouble was on the horizon. A few days later, trouble showed up. "What the fuck is this?" Dianna Bouvier yelled as she came home from work to an awful surprise. Ms. Savannah Dew, a loan officer from Southcorp Bank, and a local deputy, Deputy Bobby Johnson, were standing in front of her apartment building as she arrived home. Savannah approached her slowly carrying official looking papers in her hands. Handing the papers over to Dianna, Savannah informed Dianna that she and the other tenants who lived in the building were being evicted. "What the hell do you mean that we have to be out of our apartments in one month?" she furiously demanded from the banker who was about to place a foreclosed sign on the front lawn of the building. "I'm sorry, Dianna. Your landlord, Joseph Yearly, surrendered his properties to the bank last month. We thought he'd let all of his tenants know. It's obvious that he did not. I am so sorry, but you and the other tenants have thirty days to vacate the premises." Ms. Dew explained nervously as she gripped the foreclosure sign under her arm. Dianna was upset. No, she was beyond upset, she was pissed. A million angry thoughts flew through her mind all at once. She'd just given Yearly the rental payments for everyone a few days ago and he didn't even hint that the bank was about to take the building. "Hold up, Ms. Dew. I've got to ask Mr. Yearly about this?" Dianna stated trying to keep her temper in check. Dianna pulled out her phone and dialed his number. She got a recording that the number no longer existed. "Ms. Dew", Dianna began to ask realizing the direness of the situation, "What about the money we've paid as a deposit on the rentals? Will the bank refund any of our money? I'll be fine, but the other tenants who live here are on fixed income. They simply don't have the money to move." She explained to the banker and deputy. "Does the bank have any idea where Yearly is? He's not answering his phone. Can you or someone get in touch with him? I know that it's not part of your job, but you've just made several people homeless. Is there any way you or someone can reach him?" Dianna asked desperately. Savannah shook her head, "I'm sorry Ms. Bouvier. We can't give you that information." Looking at Dianna's face, Savannah could see the stress and worry that clouded her eyes. She wished she could help, but she was just the messenger. Frustrated Dianna wanted to scream. This isn't right. Yearly shouldn't be able to get away with this. She had to figure out where they could go. Feeling defeated, she simply turned and walked away from the two people in front of her home after telling them to leave. Dianna contemplated their situation for a minute and then decided to go to Yearly's house. She caught the number seven bus to his neighborhood and walked to his house from the bus stop early in the evening. The first thing she noticed was the big red and yellow foreclosure sign in the front yard. Her stomach dropped as it dawned on her the predicament she and the other tenants were in. An elderly neighbor came out and informed her that the people who lived there had moved away two days ago. Dianna was stumped. She along with the other tenants paid their rent with a money order, so there was no way to stop payment. Now, they had no money, no home, and were fast losing hope. Dianna felt as if the world had crashed down on her head overwhelmed. The people in the building counted on her to make sure they were taken care of and now she had no idea what to do. She thanked the lady for the information and headed back to the bus stop to go back home. As temporary as it might be, it was still home. Dianna decided to try and take control of this situation, to be proactive. Instead of having a pity party, she'd go to the bank and talk to someone and see, if they could at least allowed them additional time to find somewhere to go. After all, they were renters. They'd paid her rent for the month and held the receipts in their hands. Each person paid on time each month that had to count for something. So, if anyone down there had any compassion, they'd at least give them a second month. While riding the city bus home, Dianna was tired. She felt like the weight of the world was on her shoulders and no relief was in sight. Why does life have to be so hard? It's a constant struggle.Dianna started working at the age of ten, by doing yard work for people in the neighborhood. She grew up in a no nonsense environment. Mom told her, "Dianna, the only person you can count on is you. You've got to learn to take care of yourself. You can't trust people, because in the end, they will turn on you. Always remember that." Her mother taught her that in real life, people had to make hard choices. By learning how to fight at an early age, Dianna faced challenges head on. She was fiercely independent. Dianna learned to save money, and only buy the things she needed. She could handle herself in difficult situations. She never went looking for trouble, but if trouble came she dealt with it. In her short twenty-three years of life, she had amassed a savings of over thirty thousand dollars, was living on her own, had finished high school, and planned to finish earning her Criminal Justice degree in college in the spring. Because she managed her money so well, she paid the part of her tuition that the grants and scholarships she earned didn't cover in cash and had not acquired excessive student loans like so many of the other young people around her. So unlike the other tenants, she had resources that she could pull from, she just hated the fact that Yearly would get away with stealing everybody's money. Now, she was faced with a new challenge, finding someplace for all of them to go. She only hoped they could find a way so that they could stay together. She walked into her apartment and prepared to turn in for the day. She undressed, put on her sweats, and made a sandwich for her dinner. Then she called her Mom. She loved talking to her mother, because she had a way of putting things in perspective and always guided her in the right direction. After talking to Mom, Dianna felt a little better so she bid Mom good night and hung up. She decided to stop moping and find a solution to their problem. She stopped musing when she heard a knock on the door and looked out to see the rest of Yearly's tenants standing in her hallway. Opening the door, she invited them in. "Dianna," Mr. George comforted her, "I know you, girl, and I don't want you worrying yourself sick about this. Hear me! I've been on this earth for over seventy years, and I've seen things work out. Yearly was wrong, but we will be alright." Then he gave her a strong hug. Dianna hugged him back. He was like the grandfather she never had. He always made sure he spent time talking to all the people who lived in the building and everyone loved him. He had no family and no savings. Dianna's biggest fear was that he'd end up on the streets. Mrs. Sanchez sat on her sofa wringing her hands. She never been so afraid, not even when Ricardo left and she found this place. These people were her family and she didn't want to leave them. She was upset with Joseph Yearly, because although, she knew he valued money more than anything. She never would have imagined him treating them like this. She knew that if Dianna could find a way to fix this they would be fine. "Dianna, Pardon me, por favor. But have you talked to Yearly or anyone? I have tried to call him, but no answer-." Dianna spoke softly to her. "Mrs. Sanchez, We'll be alright. We'll stick together. Mr. George?" Mr. George came over to talk quietly to Mrs. Sanchez, while Dianna move over to Latasha to try and help calm her down. Latasha cut her off, "Yearly split. He took our money and split. Now we have nowhere to go. Damn, I just got off the streets and I don't want to have to go to no shelter." Latasha fumed angrily punching Dianna's door angrily. Before she could reach her, Mrs. Lucas intervened. Mrs. Lucas stood and gathered the angry young woman in a tight hug and in her heavy Jamaican accent soothed her saying, "Girl child, we promise you. None of us will let you go back out there. You can live with us. We will find another place. We found this one." But Tasha was reliving the nightmare of her last few nights sleeping in alleys before finding this place. At this point Mr. Lucas, whose weathered face was creased with worry, spoke up. "I will talk to my bosses in the morning, maybe they can give me some ideas on where to find a place. I will try to find some way we can be close." Dianna sat for a moment and listened. She knew and loved these people. They tried as hard as they could, but even collectively, they did not have the resources to move. This knowledge solidified her decision. She'd try to talk to someone at the bank tomorrow. Finally Dianna spoke, "I'm going to the bank in the morning. I'll see if they can give us more time to find a place. But let's not wait on them. Tasha, I know you hate it, but can you check on some of the housing programs through social services." Mr. Lucas spoke. "I will come with you, Dianna. I can call my boss and tell him-" Dianna stopped him mid sentence. "Mr. Lucas, do not miss work because you need that job, but if you can, ask around about housing." She smiled as he nodded. "Mr. George, we need Mrs. Lucas to go with Tasha. If she takes the younger children with her, will you watch the two older ones?" She asked. "Yes, honey. You don't even have to ask. Bring them over in time for me to fix them breakfast, OK." Mr. George replied. "Mrs. Lucas, since Mr. George can watch the older children, we need you take the two smaller ones with you and go with Tasha in the morning to social services." Dianna added. Dianna looked at the remaining tenants and continued, "Mrs. Sanchez, you have to work, but I want Tasha and Mrs. Lucas to call you with any news and need you record it to share tomorrow night." "I'll be at the bank as soon as it opens to talk to someone. We'll meet back here tomorrow at six to share what we find out. OK." Dianna concluded. Everyone felt better now that they had a plan in place and each had a job to do. They realized the time and each person headed home. Mr. George was the last to leave. He had something to say to Dianna. "Young lady, we all will share this problem. Don't you dare try to take it all on yourself. You hear me. We are a family and we will stick together." Then he hugged her again as he left. She was getting ready for bed when her phone rang. She wondered who was calling. The only person that ever called was her Mom, and she only called if Dianna didn't check in and she had already talked to her Mom earlier that night. When she answered the phone she learned it was Savannah from the bank. "Good evening Ms. Bouvier. This is Savannah Dew from South Corp. I apologize for calling so late, but I needed to let you know that I feel horrible about the situation Mr. Yearly has left you all in and I will do all I can to help you all. I talked with my boss this afternoon and convinced him to meet with you and the rest of the tenants in the morning. I can't promise anything, but maybe it can help. Can you all be at the bank at nine o'clock in the morning?" Savannah asked. "Ms. Dew," said Dianna smiling and feeling some relief, "Thank you for calling and arranging a meeting for us. I will be at the bank bright and early in the morning to represent all of Mr. Yearly's tenants. Is there anything you think I would need to bring?" "Bring as much information for each resident as you can. I want you to be prepared. Mr. Davidson is tough. Just be honest and state your case, hopefully we can convince him to help." Savannah explained. "Very well, I'll gather the information. Thank you Ms. Dew, I will see you in the morning." Then she hung up and chose an outfit to wear to the bank. Dianna had been through a lot in her few years on this earth, but she felt like her mother taught her well. She didn't know anything about Mr. Davidson, but she had to fight for her family. It didn't matter to her, she faced much tougher men in her short life, she'd just add him to the list. Mrs. Sanchez, Latasha, The Lucas family, and Mr. George, were depending on her to fight for them. Tomorrow she would go into battle. The next morning, at eight fifty, Dianna was standing in the lobby of Southcorp Bank waiting for Ms. Dew to arrive. Ms. Dew was in a meeting with Larry Davidson, discussing the plight of Joseph's tenants. When the receptionist informed her that Dianna had arrived, she asked her to join them in their meeting with Mr. Davidson's permission of course. "Good morning Ladies, I am glad you were able to meet with me this morning. I am Larry Davidson, President of the Brendon Branch of Southcorp Bank. Ms. Bouvier, although I sympathize with the predicament you and Mr. Yearly's other tenants have found yourselves in, legally, my hands are tied and there is nothing we can do. Dianna and Savannah sat in Larry's office, listening to him drone on and on about protocol and procedure. Finally, Diana had enough. "All of Mr. Yearly's tenants have four weeks to evacuate said properties." Larry concluded his spiel. "With all due respect, Mr. Davidson, do you have elderly parents or family members that can be vulnerable to a predator?" Dianna asked. "Ms. Bouvier, that has nothing to do with-"Larry started to explain when she cut him off. "Mr. Davidson, we are not asking you to start a rental company. We are asking for you to show some compassion. We paid rent for thirty days and deserve at least that many days to find someplace to live. Each of us just need a little more time. We don't want to stay in your building." "Ms. Bouvier, if you would simply-" Davidson tried to interject. "We are willing to leave, but some of us just don't have the money right now. We paid rent and utilities for this month and our funds are depleted. I don't know if you've ever had to live from check to check, but it's not easy." Dianna paused to give that statement time to sink in. "Mr. Davidson, I beg of you please give us at least an additional month and we will go." Dianna pleaded. Concluding her diatribe with these words, "If it were your relative, what would you do?" This question caused Davidson to pause and think for a moment. What would I do if someone did this to my Mom or Dad, or even my grandparents? I'd be furious. I'd find the bastard and press charges or at the least sue the hell out of him. Larry's callous treatment of Dianna's concern infuriated Savannah. Her mother was a renter and she'd hate for someone to take advantage of her the way Yearly had just done his tenants. Fuming to herself Savannah thought, Yearly's actions are heinous. Five families rent homes from him, yet he had not bothered to inform them of the foreclosures. He ripped these people off, and tore their lives apart. Davidson doesn't even care. Ug! What a jerk!. This is ludicrous! He, of all people, should be willing to help. I can't believe this! Savannah spoke up. She was usually not vocal, but these actions were criminal. "Mr. Davidson, I know the bank owns the property, but could the bank grant the tenants some sort of extension. It is the least we can do. Can you ask someone at the head office about it?" Davidson's face turned into stone and he stared at Savannah with glassy cold green eyes. He didn't like being put on the spot, certainly not by an employee. The atmosphere in the room went from lukewarm to chilly in an instant. Davidson then ended their meeting. "Ms. Bouvier and Ms. Dew this meeting ends here. I sympathize with your plight, but the property belongs to the bank. Mr. Yearly was notified over a year ago of the intentions of this bank if his payments continued to be delinquent. It is unfortunate that he failed to inform you or his other tenants of the imminent foreclosure." Larry stated forcefully. "Ms. Dew, please return to your desk", then looking at Dianna, "Ms. Bouvier, thank you for coming. Now please leave this building as quickly as possible." He concluded. Exiting the office, Dianna turned to look Davidson in the eyes. "Mr. Davidson, I understand that this is not your fault, and honestly, I believe in putting the blame where it lies. You and I know, Yearly is crooked and should pay for this. As bank president, I know you have to follow protocol and procedures of this bank and I understand. However, as a human being, you also know that the people in that building are innocent victims and you should want to help them. Also, as a businessman, you should also report Yearly to the FHC. I will definitely be calling as well as all of his other tenants." Dianna Ch. 01 "Mrs. Bouvier," Mr. Davidson started to address Dianna, "Let me-" Cutting him off, Dianna finished her thoughts. "Mrs. Bouvier is my mother. My name is Dianna, sir. Like I was saying, I understand you didn't cause this, but at least try and do something to make it right." Then she walked out of his office. Honestly, Larry felt for all of his other Joseph's victims and he planned to find a way to help them, but he had to maintain the integrity of the bank. He thought about this dilemma until lunch, and decided to invite Savannah to join him to see what she thought of his plan. After Savannah and Dianna left his office, Larry went over the bank by- laws to see if guidelines were written to help renters. Larry discovered two things. Either the bank, could hire a managing company to run the property, maintain the building and collect rent, or they could simply sell the property. To cushion the blow, the bank could offer the tenants financial incentives to move. However, the bank was required to give the renter proper notice of the lease termination. In 2009, Congress passed the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act in the wake of the sub-prime mortgage crisis, which now typically requires ninety days' notice. Before, tenants had thirty days at most, with some tenants receiving far less notice. Just like that, Larry was relieved that the tenants could have more time. With the extra time in their apartments, they'd be able to find decent accommodations, and Larry wanted to make sure they found them personally. So, he made some more phone calls. Savannah was furious with Larry and could not believe his callousness. During her break, she called several people she knew that were realtors and asked their advice on helping the tenants. Before long, it was time for lunch. Savannah stood to leave when Larry appeared beside her desk and invited her to join him for lunch. Larry was having sandwiches delivered to his office to give him a chance to explain. Savannah wanted to refuse, but reluctantly she joined him in his office. When she sat down, fury emanated from her body in waves. Larry knew she was upset and disappointed in him. He really liked her and hated that he'd cause her to view him in an unflattering light. "Ms. Dew I need to talk to you about the meeting we had this morning." Larry said. "First of all let me apologize for being harsh with you this morning, but please give me a moment to explain. It's not that I am unsympathetic to the plight of Mr. Yearly's tenants. However legally, I can't disregard the stipulations set forth by the bank. Those stipulations are that Joseph Yearly was delinquent on payments for his properties for six months or more, therefore the bank has the right to take possession of said properties." Savannah glared at him as she folded her arms across her chest. She stayed silent and allowed him to finish speaking. Taking a deep breath, he continued, "However, in light of the situation that has arisen, I have spent all morning researching and talking to a friend of mine that runs a low-income housing program that is designed to helping people who need help find housing. Unfortunately, only a few of Yearly's tenants will qualify for this program. Mr. George is over seventy-five and he qualifies for shelter in a senior citizens community. I spoke with Harvey Kingston, the owner of the bank, and he has agreed that Southcorp will cover his living expenses for the first year until another source of revenue can be found for him. Latasha Black is only eighteen, and even with her job waitressing, she does not have enough income to qualify for a rental. However, if she qualifies for some government aid programs, she may still qualify." "Mr. Davidson," Savannah interjected, "I talked with the director of FCD, an organization that helps young people get their feet back on the ground. Latasha is a perfect candidate for their program. They provide an education, housing, and counseling. They do have specific rules their members must follow. I will call Ms. Bouvier and Ms. Black later about this." Larry Davidson pressed on, "The Lucas family qualifies, but both parents will need to work. With five small children, Mrs. Lucas may not be able to work right away." Again Susannah came up with a suggestion, "Does she have to work outside the home? I mean what if she could do telemarketing or something along those lines. She can still work, just from a home office. "Good idea, Ms. Dew." Larry acknowledged. "I think it might work. "Now, Mrs. Sanchez must show that she is in the country legally and is not an illegal immigrant. I know that she is divorced, but has she attained citizenship status?" Larry finished. Savannah was amazed. She had walked out of his office that morning thinking he did not care, clearly she was wrong. "Now finally, Ms. Bouvier, I find, is a young woman of means. With her credit standings, and savings she has amassed, she actually qualifies for a loan to buy a home. She is an amazing and well accomplished young woman." Larry finished. "I want to call her directly to talk to her about possibly purchasing her own home. It would definitely benefit her to think about doing so. With her credit rating and work ethic, she'd have no problem securing a loan." "Mr. Davidson", Savannah began taken aback, "I honestly thought you didn't care. But clearly, I was mistaken. Thank you. I will call Ms. Bouvier immediately as well as all of his other tenants." "Ms. Dew, you don't have to call them right now. Let's enjoy our lunch" Larry stated, and as their sandwiches arrived from a local deli. He hid his smile as they ate their lunch. When lunch was over, Savannah immediately called Dianna and the rest of the tenants to share the news that she found out. Dianna was searching the realty section of the classified ads to try and find something to accommodate all of them when her phone rang. "Hello." Dianna spoke into her phone. Savannah breathed a sigh of relief, "Ms. Bouvier this is Savannah Dew from Southcorp Bank. I met with Mr. Davidson this afternoon, and we may have a solution to your problem. Would you be willing to come back to the bank this afternoon so we can present the information we've discovered?" Dianna thought for a moment and decided that everyone involved should be there. "Ms. Dew, I truly appreciate what you are doing for us, but this time I would like to have the others accompany me to see what is being offered. Can we come in tomorrow at one o'clock?" "Um, sure." Savannah replied. She was surprised that Dianna was not eagerly waiting to meet with them. "I'll inform Mr. Davidson. I'll call you back in a few minutes to confirm." Dianna hung up and went back to trying to find a place for them to move. Savannah called right back. They had an appointment at the bank t two o'clock the next day. She'd inform everyone at her place when they met tonight. The next day at two all of the tenants were waiting in the lobby at the bank. Savannah met them and guided everyone to Mr. Davidson's office. After greeting and receiving brief introductions, Larry explained to each of the tenants what Southcorp was willing to do to help. All of the tenants were relieved and happy to finally have somewhere to go. The Lucas family and Ms. Sanchez would report to "Helping Hands" the next day to apply for housing. Mr. George did not want to give up his independence and move to an assisted living facility. So at first, he resisted. "I am not moving in an old folks home. "Mr. George declared staring at Larry Davidson. "I can find my own place. For seventy-five years I've worked to support myself..." his voice cracked. Seeing Mr. George so distraught spurred Dianna into action. She kneeled before him and held his hands."Mr. George, I know this is not ideal. I wish I could find a place for all of us.... You know you won't be able to find a safe place you can afford." "Dianna, I will not-," Dianna cupped his wrinkly brown cheek and stared into the eyes of the only man that was ever a father to her. "I know you don't want to go to an old folk's home, but I can't let you go on the streets. Mr. George, I will be there with you every day if I can. So will everyone else here. Just try it for a year. That's all we ask. It'll be alright." she said finally embracing the elderly man. "Fine, for your peace of mind Dianna, I'll stay there. But young lady, you'd better visit." He said finally. Dianna understood, Mr. George was seventy-five years young, and a place like that might stifled his freedom. But she'd rather he went to a facility than end up on the streets. Hopefully, she'd find a place where he could move in with her. Latasha was another story. She grew up in foster care where everyone depended on welfare and didn't want to find herself trapped in that system. Ms. Dew assured her that FCD was not welfare, but a chance to get the resources she would need to gain true independence. Reluctantly, Latasha agreed to meet with the people there. Another thing Larry and the people at "Helping Hands" did to help Joseph's victims was hire an attorney to sue him and get their money back. ****************************** Joseph showed up at his son's house on a Sunday morning a few weeks after visiting Vegas. "Hey son, aren't you glad to see your old man?" Joseph greeted Bryce after not having seen him in over fifteen years. Bryce was eleven years old the last time he saw Joseph Yearly. Joseph was tired of taking care of a woman and her kid. He came home one day, and forced Bryce's mother to take their things and get out of his house. He rented a truck for them and paid the driver to take them anywhere she wanted to go. Bryce recalled how his mother begged this man not to put her and their son out on the streets. Joseph looked at her with dark cold eyes and declared that he was not that boy's father. Defeated, Bryce's mother had the driver of the truck to take her back to her parent's home. They lived with his grandmother until she passed away when he was eighteen. His grandmother helped them get back on their feet and made him promise to finish college. When she died he learned that she left him over sixty thousand dollars in a trust for college. Today, his mother still lived in his childhood home and he sent money each month to help her meet her expenses. He figured he'd never see Joseph again, so seeing him on his doorstep was a surprise. "I don't have a father Joseph, remember. You said I'm not yours. What do you want? Why are you here?" Bryce asked angrily. He folded his arms across his chest to try and get a handle on his emotions. He hated this evil man standing in front of him, and really didn't want to talk to him. Joseph didn't think his boy would hate him, so he cleverly came up with a new scheme. He'd play sick, poor old man. "Bryce, son, I've lost everything. I don't have anywhere to go. I just need a place to stay for a week or two until I pull myself together. I know I don't have the right to ask, but I miss you son and I need your help. Please let me stay for a while." He sounded so old and tired that Bryce felt for him. "Two weeks, and then Joseph, you've got to go. Unfortunately for Bryce, Joseph didn't leave in two weeks. One night Bryce awoke to the sound of screaming. He rushed into Joseph's room and found Joseph thrashing on his bed wildly. He called for help and Joseph was rushed to the hospital. Bryce learnt from his doctors that Joseph was suffered a stroke and severe brain damage had resulted from it; within a week, he'd deteriorated and died. Just like that he had to bury the man who was his father. Joseph Yearly had passed away after living with his son in the city for less than a week. He'd actually filed bankruptcy before his demise, so unfortunately his former tenants could not get any of their money back. His son, Bryce, after learning about his deception, was appointed conservatorship over all of his father's affairs. Bryce didn't know about his father's schemes until his tenants filed their lawsuit. A meeting was scheduled with Bryce and the rest of the tenants. He wanted to at least meet with them and apologize for his father's treachery. The meeting was at the local courthouse. Bryce arrived thirty minutes early. When he entered, this gorgeous Nubian goddess was entering as well. He held the door for her to enter the courthouse. Dianna entered the courthouse and saw an African Adonis. He was tall, dark, and amazingly handsome. Bryce really wanted to get to know the beautiful woman he'd just met, but he had to try and settle this last mess his Dad had made. He watched the young lady walk away and could not help but admire the sexy sway of her hips. Damn it, I should have at least introduced myself and gotten her name. Walking away from the handsome man that held the door, Dianna added a swing to her hips. She felt his eyes on her and wanted to make sure that she gave him something to look at. Legally he was not obligated to repay any of his father's victims, and financially he wasn't able to. He felt that the least he could do was apologize. He was grateful that they were willing to meet with him. Dianna was surprised to learn that the handsome man that held the door for her was Bryce Yearly. Joseph was a small man in stature, light skinned, with a slender face and narrow facial features. His son, Bryce, was handsome, the complete opposite of his father. He was a chocolate God. Standing at six foot seven inches tall dark, rich, smooth skin and deep chocolate eyes, Bryce Yearly was a dreamboat. When he spoke, his voice was a deep rich baritone that lulled a person into a relaxed state. Dianna was mesmerized, but then she remembered that this man was the son of the man that put her and her family out on the street. Stiffening her spine, she willed herself to become indifferent to him and ignore the attraction she felt towards him. Bryce sensed the coolness of Dianna's attitude towards him and decided to back off and if he got a chance, he'd approach her later. Bryce apologized to each and every one of Joseph's victims. He explained that although he wanted to, there was no way he could repay the money his father had stolen. He also explained to them that he father had recently passed away and the condition that led to his demise. Dianna heart hurt when Bryce announced that he lost his father. Then she recalled this is the same man that hurt her family, so she buried any sympathy she may have felt for Bryce Yearly. Most of the tenants empathized with Bryce and didn't hold his father's treacherous acts against him. They felt bad for him and over time many were able to let the anger go. Unfortunately, Dianna was not one of them She didn't begrudge the dead but to her, Joseph Yearly was just opportunistic. After a few months, all of the tenants had settled into their new locations, but they all agreed to keep in touch. Dianna bought a small house near the school so that Latasha could live with her. Dianna was used to living alone and did not relish the idea of having a roommate, but with Latasha there, it was easier for her to save her money because all of the expenses were evenly divided. With encouragement and support from Dianna and the others, Latasha enrolled in some classes and start earning credits toward her degree. The FDC organization helped her find scholarships to cover her tuition as well as assisting her with her living expenses and finding work. Dianna earned her degree in criminal Justice and secured her first job within that field at a local detention center. She interviewed for a supervisory position. ****************************** Thinking she's was working in an office, Dianna dressed for success. Wearing a sleek navy business suit, she arrived at her job thirty minutes early allowing time to get acclimated to her new surroundings. The first night she was at work was exciting. She worked extremely hard, even willing to take on responsibilities that weren't really hers. She saw that some of the conditions at the detention center were not fair. All of the inmates were kids who were referred for various types of nefarious activities. Dianna saw negligence, abuse, and lethargic uncaring adults. She started a documentation journal to record the problems that she saw, making sure she stayed on top the section she was assigned to supervise. However, it was inferior job performance of the guards that was allowing the inmates to get hurt, sometimes seriously. Paperwork for the infirmary increases at night when there were fewer guards on duty. After a few months, Dianna felt she'd gathered enough data, and requested a meeting with the director of the, Mr. Herbert Vice. "Mr. Vice, I want to thank you for-" "Ms. Bouvier, let me explain things to you" Mr. Vice interrupted. "You have been with us for four months and I have over sixty complaints about your job performance from several of your co-workers." Dianna was stunned, because she worked harder than anyone else in that place. She actually cared about the children living in the facility, whereas, others saw them as just a job. "Mr. Vice," Dianna started to state, "I assure I have done my job to the best of my ability." Looking at her with clear disdain, Mr. Vice addressed Dianna in a harsh cold tone, "Ms. Bouvier, I would advise you to stop talking right now before I dismiss you for insubordination." Dianna was stunned. She'd done nothing to deserve such an attack on her character. She sat down and remained quiet as she listened to all of the things she was being accused of. When Mr. Vice finished, Dianna said what she had to say. "Mr. Vice, the way you and your employees treat these children is criminal. You all should be locked up. How dare you sit here and accuse me of not doing my job when clearly it's apparent that the other adults that work here are slothful, lazy and simply unprofessional. I will no longer sit quietly and allow this blatant mistreatment of these children to conti-" "Ms. Bouvier, clear your area immediately. Your services are no longer required." Mr. Vice interjected angrily. Mr. Vice called for the head of human resources to join their meeting. Mrs. Alford entered the office hesitantly. "Mrs. Alford, as of today I am dismissing Ms. Bouvier on grounds of insubordination. Please clear her from payroll immediately. That will be all, thank you." At the end of the meeting, Mr. Vice had security to make sure Dianna gathered her personal effects and escort her from the premises. She was angry and knew that the state office would be receiving a call from her about the facility post haste. Dianna was furious and there was nothing she could do. She knew they fired her because they knew they weren't doing their jobs and she called them on it. However, her Momma told her,Crying over spilled milk is pointless. Clean it up and get a new glass. Dianna spent the next couple of months looking for a job to no avail. One day, while standing in line at a local employment office, her case worker suggested she go into teaching. Dianna Ch. 2 Dianna spent the next couple of months looking for a job to no avail. One day, while standing in line at a local employment office, her case worker suggested she go into teaching. The state had a severe shortage of certified teachers, so they implemented a pilot program to recruit people who did not follow the traditional route into the field. Participants who participated had to work in a low-income poor performing school within the state for a period of three years. At the end of the three year terms, they would receive a scholarship to any school of their choice, if they chose to stay in teaching and continue with their assigned school they would receive a stipend of five thousand dollars. Dianna Ch. 01 Dianna instantly qualified for the program because all she needed was a degree, to pass a state licensing test, and be under the age of thirty. She knew she really did not want to teach, but she needed a job and the ten thousand dollar scholarship could really help her pay for law school. So she told her friend, she'd consider it. Three more months of not working, and Dianna saw her nest egg dwindle even more. She took the state teacher's exam and received a three year emergency license. After obtaining certification, Dianna applied for teaching positions in the local school district. She was called in for an interview and hired immediately. Dianna took a post teaching sixth grade at one of the elementary schools in the town. Dianna reported to Armstrong Elementary School a month before school started to make sure she had whatever materials she needed. During the month of June, Dianna was the only person that came down to the school. She got to know the office and maintenance staff extremely well. By the end of July, some of the veteran teachers came down and Dianna had an opportunity to meet a few of her co-workers. Although they seemed like nice people, many of them didn't seem to like children very much. Dianna avoided conversations that were negative about the school, kids, or community for fear that it would taint her view of her new job. She met most of her coworkers the week before school started. The only person she had not met was Mr. Yearly. Instantly, she wondered if this guy was related to her former landlord and then decided the fates could not be that cruel. One week before school started district employees had to attend mandatory staff development meetings. Savannah reported early for her first day of the new school year. When she entered her hall, she saw that the elusive Mr. Yearly was in his room. She decided to go introduce herself. As she entered the door, she was instantly annoyed. Before her working on a bulletin board was the son of the man who ripped her off three years earlier. True she was mad about having her money stolen, but more so that this guy seemed to uphold his father's wrongness and used his dying as a way to gain sympathy. She disliked him at that point and could not see the situation improving. Dianna turned to leave and head back to her classroom when Bryce saw her. Bryce was stunned, this young woman made a huge impression on him three years ago when they met over the stunt his father pulled. She was gorgeous. "Ms. Bouvier, wait!" Bryce called when he saw her turn to leave. Dianna ignored him and continued to go back to her classroom thinking. I don't want to talk to him. I don't care how tall and handsome he is, with his rich dark skin and sexy chocolate brown eyes, and cute dimple in the cleft of his chin. Never mind the fact that he's at least the sexiest man I've seen in a long time. Wait a minute, where did those thoughts come from, Dianna wondered. Yes, Bryce was a good-looking man but that didn't change the face that he was also a weasel like his father. And she wanted nothing to do with him. At eight o'clock all of the faculty and staff at Armstrong Elementary had to report to the school auditorium for their welcome from the administration and schedule for the week. They would also introduce staff members and explain their positions at the school for the year. Entering the auditorium, all of the staff members from the previous year took time to greet each other and catch up on events from the summer. Eventually, Coach Harvey Reed, the assistant principal cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. He was quickly followed by Mrs. Angela Jones the building principal. Dianna had spoken with Mrs. Jones several times over the summer since she'd been hired and liked the woman's no nonsense attitude. Mrs. Jones stood to address her staff. "As is normal, because of strategic state testing there was a high number of teacher turn-over at Armstrong this year. The district ended up hiring an entire new team of third grade teachers, two new fourth grade teachers, one fifth grade teacher, and two new sixth grade teachers." explained Mrs. Jones Dianna being one of the new teachers, and the other new teacher was a young lady named Summer Thyme. It was at this meeting that Dianna was introduced to her mentoring teacher, Bryce. Plastering a smile on her face, Dianna struggled to hide the fury that was building inside of her. Mrs. Jones introduced all of the new staff. When she finished, the returning staff took a moment to introduce them. Dianna learned that there were four sixth grade teachers, Summer, Mrs. Towers, Mr. Yearly, and herself. Each grade was assigned a wing, and each wing had to select a mascot, motto, and decorate accordingly creating a theme for their grade level. At the end of the initial staff meeting each team returned to their learning communities. Dianna was talking with Mrs. Towers about what to expect when Bryce simply waited for her in her classroom. He knew they had to work together and they did not need to harbor and egregious animosity towards each other. Besides, Dianna Bouvier fascinated him. He'd dated a few women, but none compared to her. She was beautiful and strong. One thing Bryce respected was strong women. "Good afternoon, Mr. Yearly, can I help you with something? Is there a valid reason for you to be waiting inside my classroom?" Dianna asked perturbed as she entered her room t find him waiting.. "Dianna" Bryce started to say but, Dianna cut him off. "Excuse me Mr. Yearly, my friends call me Dianna and you sir are clearly no friend of mine." Inhaling deeply, she continued in a quiet tone. She didn't feel the need to broadcast her business but she wanted to make sure Bryce Yearly understood that his charm and wit had no effect on her. "I know that what happened three years ago was not your fault, but you upheld your father in his wrongness." She continued. "I understand that you were protecting your Dad. Hell, I would have protected my Mom, but he hurt innocent people. They didn't deserve that. He knew for months and still took our money. That's wrong and you know it." Dianna walked away from Bryce and turned to look at him. "I need this job, and unfortunately, I have to work with you." Dianna continued. "I will be civil to you, but we will keep our relationship strictly professional." Bryce nodded in agreement, but he was never a man to let anyone, especially a woman, no matter how enticing she was, tell him what to do. "Fine, Ms. Bouvier, I can respect your wishes. You want to be professional, let's keep it professional at all times." Bryce stated. Then he smiled, Dianna's breath caught at the sight. "I'll see you at one o'clock, Ms. Bouvier for our grade level meeting to go over the curriculum. Oh, and by the way, also as your supervising teacher so we have to conference at least three times a week and I will be evaluating your progress." Bryce finished and then exited her classroom. Momentarily Dianna flashed back to the events that ended her last job and became afraid. The last thing she needed to do was challenge authority. However, it didn't matter how she felt about him, or he felt about her. She was hired to do a job, and she would do it to the best of her abilities. Dianna knew she needed to tread lightly, but she would not just bow down in any case. It was lunch time and she joined her coworkers Mrs. Towers and Ms. Thyme for lunch. While leaving, she noticed that Bryce stayed in his classroom and ate his lunch alone. Mrs. Towers invited him to join them, but he glanced at Dianna and declined her invitation. When the ladies returned from lunch, they attended another brief staff meeting before breaking into groups, according to their subject area, for curriculum planning. Dianna would be responsible for literacy so she had to meet the curriculum coordinator for the Language Arts courses. The rest of the afternoon was spent analyzing data and creating curriculum maps for students who had extremely low score results from state test. For three more days, Dianna came to work and had minimal to no contact with Bryce, This should have made her happy, but for some reason it did not and Dianna was confused. Student registration and conferences were scheduled for Friday and Dianna was nervous. After listening to horror stories from several other teachers, she was apprehensive about meeting parents the next day. She was not the only person that was nervous, Ms. Thyme was a wreck. As a matter of fact, Summer spent a large amount of time in Bryce's room with him reassuring her. By two o'clock, Dianna was wiped. She'd planned her first week, had copies ran of every form imaginable, created a checklist of important things parents and students needed to know. She'd written a personal letter for each parent introducing herself and detailing her credentials. She made sure her classroom was appealing and kid friendly. Bryce was assigned Summer and Dianna as his mentees for this school year. He'd talked with Summer at least three days this week, but he hadn't had another conversation with Dianna since the blow up in her classroom earlier that week. He knew he had to talk to her and be professional, but when he was around her he felt anything but professional. Bryce stood and took one more look around his classroom before heading down the hall to Dianna's classroom. Knocking softly on her door, he entered when she invited him in. Dianna looked up and saw Bryce standing in her classroom. Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked up from the folders she was creating for her students. And even though she was insistent that they stay professional, it did not change the fact the Bryce Yearly was scrumptious. "Good afternoon, Ms. Bouvier" Bryce addressed Dianna. "I wanted to know if everything is alright. Do you need help with anything or have any questions about what to expect tomorrow?" Bryce queried. Shaking her mentally to stop herself from staring at him, Dianna answered, "Yes, if we need to run copies, will there be a station with a copier available." Clearing his throat, he explained "Mrs. Towers has a copier in her room. She'll let you make copies for the parents. Just try to have as many parents complete their registration packages here at school, because if they take them and leave they might not complete the forms correctly." Summer came to her door and interrupted, "Bryce, my friends and I are going to The Fish Hut tonight, do you want to join us? Oh, I'm sorry Dianna, I didn't see you. You can come too if you want." She added not taking her eyes off of Bryce for a second. Dianna didn't like the way the young girl was looking at him. She was also annoyed that he did not correct her and bring an end to her brash behavior. She most definitely didn't like the familiar way she addressed him. Crossing her arms, Dianna glared at Bryce. She silently dared him to make a date with Summer. Bryce saw Dianna's reaction, and recognized it immediately. Even with all her bluster about remaining professional, Ms. Bouvier was as attracted to him as he was to her. "Ms. Thyme, when we are at school, we need to address each other formally." He kindly explained to the young woman. Summer bristled. She didn't like being corrected in front of anyone, especially a rival. Although, Ms. Bouvier showed no interest in Bryce, she could tell he was interested in her. That was part of the reason she issued the invitation to stake her claim on him. Dianna chuckled on the inside as she witnessed the events unfold in front of her. Summer hissed and angrily stalked off to her classroom. "Well, Mr. Yearly" Dianna stated, "I see that you do have some understanding of what is appropriate and inappropriate behavior in the work place." Clearing his throat, Bryce asked, "I thought you wanted to keep our relationship professional, Ms. Bouvier. Are you really interested in my private life? I feel who I associate with should be of no consequence to you." Dianna frowned. It seemed Mr. Yearly could give as well as she could. She'd better be on top of things so that he didn't get the upper hand on her. "I apologize, if I offended you, Mr. Yearly. I was simply stating fact. Now if you would please leave my classroom, I have work that I must finish." Dianna declared firmly. Turning her attention back to the folders she was creating, she ignored Bryce as he quickly exited her classroom. She looked at the door after Bryce had left. Stupid, stupid, stupid! How can I find that cretin attractive? Ug! I've got to get a man. Dianna thought to herself. Thankfully, for her, the rest of the day came to an end, and she headed home. The next morning, Dianna was one of the few workers that arrived at work significantly early. Dianna took a few minutes to greet her new coworkers before heading to her classroom for the day. She managed to speak several people, including Summer who was overly anxious. Dianna took a few minutes to help her calm down. As she left Summer's classroom, she was about to pass Bryce's classroom when she heard him call her name.. "Good morning, Ms. Bouvier. Are you ready to start today?" said Bryce as he saw Dianna walk past his room. Dianna stumbled over herself as soon as she heard his voice Plastering a smile, she spoke. "Good morning, Mr. Yearly. How are you this morning?" Dianna asked. "Fine, just fine, Ms. Bouvier." Bryce smiled. "I hope you're ready for an exciting day. Remember, to be friendly, but maintain your role as teacher and make sure they understand your role. These students have attended this school for the past five years, but that doesn't mean their parents won't try and manipulate you because you're a novice teacher. I gave Ms. Thyme the same advice and I certainly hope you both take it in consideration." Smiling Dianna replied, "Thank you, Mr. Yearly. I will take your suggestions under advisement." Bryce was struck dumb. He always thought Dianna was beautiful. Even years earlier when they were at odds over his father's evil deeds, he never saw a more beautiful woman and when she smiled, she was breathtakingly gorgeous. Though he admired her, he would respect her boundaries. Dianna Bouvier was a Goddess. Rich, creamy caramel skin, big beautiful brown eyes, thick wavy black hair, and heart-shaped lips, Dianna was a man's walking wet dream. Standing at five feet eight inches tall, and weighing one hundred forty-five pounds, she was voluptuous with a slim waist and wide hips. When she spoke to him, her voice covered his body like black silk. He had to fight to control his baser urges to simply take her in his arms and just kiss her. Did he want Dianna Bouvier? Yes, any red-blooded man would. Did he stand a chance of getting her? Hell, no. he chuckled to himself. She wouldn't give him the time of day. Parent Registration day came and went. By the time Dianna had finished meeting all of her parents and some of her students she was exhausted. The parents were interesting. Some simply wanted to fill out forms and be left alone. A few tried to engage her in conversations about her personal life. A few of the fathers flirted with her while the mothers wanted to make sure she would be nurturing. Some of the more concerned parents were quick to question her from the fact she wasn't a regular education major to the fact she had no experience in the classroom. However, most were supportive and just seemed happy to meet their child's teacher. After talking to the more aggressive parents, Dianna made a point of documenting everything that happened in her classroom with her students. Almost all of the parents had come and gone by four o'clock, and Dianna was relieved. Dianna was headed to the lounge to get a soda when she saw a frazzled and dazed Summer exit her classroom, she went over to her and guided her to Bryce's room where he was talking with Mrs. Towers. Both veteran teachers took one look at the young woman and knew it would be a long year for her. The coworkers sat with Summer and talked her through her ordeal. It seemed she had a parent bully. Both Mrs. Towers and Bryce had dealt with this parent last year, so they knew what to expect. They decided that they would make sure and provide extra support for Summer. Bryce stole a glance at Dianna. She seemed to make it through the day with ease. Dianna felt her skin tingle. She knew he was looking at her. However, she would maintain her decorum and not flirt with him. She didn't care that he was an example of a perfect male specimen. He was handsome and he knew it. He kept his body in shape and did not have an ounce if extra fat anywhere. His deep rich voice reached to her in ways you could only imagine. With broad shoulders, slim waist, and a tight firm ass, he starred in most of her fantasies. Dianna thought, Did she find him sexy? Yes, but she wouldn't tell him. Would she like to spend time with him? Of course, but she wasn't saying anything. Although the man was sex on legs, she would not let him know she found him attractive. The day ended and everyone headed home. It was the weekend and Bryce secretly wondered if Dianna had plans, but she'd already told him they would stay professional so he wouldn't push. Later that evening, Dianna decided to go to a local club to relax. She called her on again off again boyfriend and invited him to come along. He was annoying, but at least he might her take her mind off of a certain someone. Instead of having Jamarkius pick her up, she met him at the club. They had been at the club talking for a while when Summer and her friends came in. Summer saw Dianna walked over to speak. She was really grateful that Dianna had gone out of her way to help her earlier. "Hey Ms. Bouvier, I'm glad to see you here. Are you enjoying the band?" Summer greeted Dianna as she approached her. Dianna heard the young woman and turned. She smiled at her. "Summer, we are not at school. You can call me Dianna. And yes, the band is fantastic." "Let me introduce my friends," Summer continued excitedly. "These are my friends Chad and Glenn." "It's nice to meet you, Ma'am." greeted Chad. "Good evening, Dianna" said Glen grinning sheepishly. Jamarkius cleared his throat. "I'm sorry Summer; this is a friend of mine Jamarkius Wilson. Jamarkius, this is my coworker Summer and her two friends." Dianna concluded. At this point Bryce and his best friend Brian had arrived at the club. "Damn, man," Brian exclaimed, "Check out the caramel-colored goddess at that table." Bryce looked and his eyes landing on Dianna. There were some other people their too, but he only saw Dianna. She was sitting at a table talking to three guys. Two of the guys were friends of Summer, he'd met them before when they helped Summer bring in materials, Chad and Glenn. The third guy he did not know, but he'd make sure to find out who he was, He saw Jamarkius lean in close to Dianna and whisper something in her ear as he placed his hand on the skin of her back. Making his way to their table with Brian in tow, Bryce spoke to the small group. "Hello, everyone. Having a good time?" Bryce asked greeting the group. "Hey, Bryce." said Chad. "How are you?" asked Glenn. "Hey" said Summer embracing both men. "What are you guys doing here?" she asked smiling at Brian. Grinning wickedly at Dianna, Bryce winked, "Hello Dianna, fancy meeting you here. How are you this evening?" Dianna cringed. She knew he was teasing especially after she was so adamant about professionalism at work. They weren't in the classroom, so he could call her by her first name. Swiveling her head to look in his chocolate colored eyes, Dianna smiled and listened to his sharp intake of breath. "Good evening Bryce. I see you needed to unwind as well." Dianna Ch. 01 "Jamarkius, this is another one of my coworkers, Bryce Yearly, and his friend..." Dianna paused so that Bryce could introduce his friend. "Oh, this is Brian. Brian meet Dianna Bouvier and her friend Jamerkson" Bryce stated. "My name is Jamarkius, son, don't play with me." He said in a low tone. The two men glared at each other for a moment until, Dianna and Summer broke them apart. "Bryce, let's dance." Said Summer grabbing Bryce's hand and leading him to the dance floor. Dianna was annoyed by the familiar way Summer grabbed on to him, but worked hard to keep her feelings hidden After talking with Glen, Brian, and Chad for a few minutes more, the three young men left their table leaving Dianna alone with Jamarkius. Frowning, Jamarkius said, "So, that guy is the reason you wanted to go out with me tonight, right? Don't deny it, girl. I saw the way he looked at you and calling me the wrong name, pssshh, I'm not stupid." "Jamarkius, I am not involved with nor do I plan to become involved with Bryce Yearly. After the stunt his dad pulled, I want nothing to do with him." Dianna fumed. "Girl, that's what your lips are saying, but your eyes are telling a different story." Jamarkius whispered in a low tone causing Dianna to stiffen slightly. Then she stood and grabbed Jamarkius' hand and dragged him to the dance floor. The band was playing a popular song with a fast beat. Bryce and Dianna watched each from other across the dance floor. Bryce decided that despite her little lecture on being professional, he would definitely let one Ms. Dianna Bouvier know that he was interested. Summer seemed to lose interest in Bryce and moved on to his friend Brian. Glenn and Chad wandered off to find new ladies to entertain them. The evening progressed slowly and everyone was having fun. Unfortunately, Jamarkius had to leave because he got called in to work. The small group stayed together a little longer until Glenn and Chad left leaving Brian, Bryce, Summer, and Dianna. It was obvious to anyone that could see that Brian and Summer were into each other. They left and Bryce and Dianna were alone. Dianna stood and gathered her purse, so she could head home. "Wait, I'll take you." Bryce said. "Really, Mr. Yearly, that's not necessary." Dianna tried to explain. "Seriously, Dianna." Bryce exasperatedly stated. "We are not at school. Call me Bryce. Besides why are you leaving, the night is still young?" Damn, she thought, What is he up to? "Bryce, I am going to go home now-" Dianna started to state as he cut her off. "You are so beautiful. I thought you were three years ago when I saw you for the first time and was too afraid to approach you." Bryce whispered. Bryce caught her hand and kissed it gently. "Stay and talk to me for a while. I really want to get to know you." Mesmerized by the sound of his voice and the passion she saw burning in his deep brown eyes, Dianna's heart rate accelerated. She could hardly breathe. For the first time in his presence Dianna Bouvier was speechless. Dianna sat back down at the table. Bryce looked her in the eye and gently caressed her cheek. Dianna closed her eyes and grasped the hand that caressed her cheek so gently. Leaning ever so slightly, she closed her eyes and inhaled his scent. For a second the two got lost looking into each other's eyes. Then Dianna remembered where she was and who she was sitting with. Standing quickly, "I have to go. Good night Bryce." Dianna hastily headed for the exit. Bryce sat stunned as the only woman he dreamed of rushed out of the door. The rest of the weekend flew by quickly. Monday morning arrived all sunny and clear. It was the first day of school for the students at Armstrong. Bryce arrived early hoping to get a chance to speak to Dianna before the day began. Everyone was excited. Teachers were at school early. The janitorial staff made sure the campus was clean and spotless. Even some of the kids were on campus before seven o'clock that morning. Bryce headed to his halls in hopes of catching Dianna before the morning assembly. "Bryce, Oh, um Mr. Yearly" Summer called as Bryce rushed by her door. Bryce stopped and turned, "Good morning, Miss Thyme, please remember to use surnames at school. We must maintain a professional air." Summer blushed, "I'm sorry, I just wanted to say Good Morning." Then she turned to go back to her room. "Miss Thyme, wait!" Bryce called. "I was a bit harsh. It's alright to use my first name after hours, but not in front of the students. Some of them have no respect for boundaries which you will soon learn, so try and stay in your role as teacher at all times. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and I apologize if I did." Smiling Summer said, "It's alright. You've told me more than once. I need to listen. Thanks Mr. Yearly" and she returned to her classroom. Bryce walked on to Dianna's room and saw her setting up for her students. He leaned against the doorjamb and watched her for a few minutes. Dianna looked up and saw him standing there, "Good morning, Mr. Yearly. How are you this morning?" She greeted him politely. "Good morning, Ms. Bouvier, I am fine this morning. Happy to be here, and you?" Bryce asked smiling in return. "I am fine, are you ready to go to the auditorium?" Dianna asked. "We could walk out together." "Certainly, I'm ready when you are." Bryce replied. He was happy to accompany her to the auditorium. Dianna smiled, "Great, can you see if Mrs. Towers and Ms. Thyme are ready as well. Thanks." She turned to make sure her purse was locked in the file cabinet. Then all four teachers headed to the auditorium together to greet their students. A couple of hours later each adult returned to their classroom with their students in tow. Each class consisted of eighteen to twenty preteen students. Dianna's class was an uneven mix. She had twelve boys and six girls in her class. Looking at her students, she could tell that a few of the boys were bigger than normal sixth graders. This caused her some concern. She was willing to work with kids whose ages arranged from eleven to twelve years olds. Thirteen years and older was a completely different ballgame. She had a mentoring meeting with Mr. Yearly later that week, she'd mention her concerns then. She wondered how Ms. Thyme was doing, as they were lining up their classed, she notice that Ms. Thyme had quite a few students that appeared to be over-aged as well. When Dianna made it to her classroom door, she explained to her students how to line up beside the door and went over expectations when standing in the hall. She also gave the students instructions when they entered the classroom. Her students entered the room quietly and quickly found their seats. Dianna introduced herself to the class and they started the day by completing some get-to-know me activities. Most of the students were polite and participated except for one young man. Dianna gave the students a writing assignment and decided to try and engage the young man in a brief conversation. Having read through her students cumulative records, she was already aware of most of their strengths and weaknesses. This young man's name was DeShaun Moore. He was thirteen years old. He'd repeated two grades during his school career, second and sixth. Noted in his file was information on his academic performance as well as disciplinary incidents. Dianna approached him cautiously. She grew up around some pretty tough characters and learned at an early age how to survive. "DeShaun, how are you this morning? Are you feeling alright?" she asked softly. DeShaun had gone through several teachers and the Miss Nice routine wasn't going to fool him. He glared at Dianna. "Look lady, I don't know you and I don't want to be bothered. The only reason I'm in here is because I don't want to go to reform school. So if you don't want some real problems, leave me alone." He growled at Dianna. Then he put his head down on his desk. Dianna found herself in a difficult situation, she realized that the rest of the class was waiting to see how she handled this situation with DeShaun. If she tried to force him to comply, she'd end up in a power struggle with a student and she would instantly lose. Her mom always told her When you find yourself in a hole, take your time and climb out of it. Don't dig and make it deeper. She decided to give DeShaun a choice. "Mr. Moore, sit up, please." Dianna addressed him by his surname. DeShaun didn't move, he simply sat there with his head down. Leaning in close to him and speaking in a low soft tone so that only he could hear, Dianna offered him a choice. "Mr. Moore, it is the first day of school. I don't want to have to send for the resource officer any more than you want me too. But I will if I must, now all I want you to do is sit up and at least participate in class today. Will you sit up, or do I need to call Officer Thigpen?" Then Dianna walked away. She knew that DeShaun wanted to comply, but he had to save face in front of his peers. By giving him a choice, he then had some control over what happened to him, which helped him to maintain some power over his personal space. DeShaun eventually sat up and completed the assignments Dianna had given him. The kids in all four classes would rotate to different classroom throughout the day. However, since this was the first day, they stayed in homeroom. Before long it was time to go to lunch. Dianna watched her students carefully because she was making mental notes of their interactions with each other. She noticed that four of the six girls in her class formed a tight social group and two were not really a part of the group. The boys grouped themselves according to their interest, but DeShaun was a complete isolate. No one talked to him or interacted with him at all. She also noticed the same thing about one of the girls in her class, Selena. That child was a loner too. She'd make sure she talk to both of them to see if they were loners by choice or if some other factors caused them to be social pariahs. Lunch was over and it was time to return to the classroom. Dianna had selected a quick aptitude test to get a vague idea of what levels her students were on. That afternoon once she'd graded the assessments, Dianna was disturbed to find that out of the twenty kids in her homeroom class, only four were reading at or slightly above grade level, six were slightly below grade level, but the majority of the class were seriously below grade level. She knew she had to come up with a plan for these students or she would have serious problems. The school day progressed and before long the day ended. Bryce asked that all sixth grade teachers meet with him to talk about their first day and any challenges they encounters. Dianna walked to Bryce's room with Mrs. Towers, Summer was already there. The first thing Dianna saw when she entered the room was Summer leaning casually across Bryce's desk. Bryce was across the room from her, but her young firm bottom was clearly lifted giving him a clear view. "Ms. Thyme, please sit up. You are in a class room." Dianna said to the young lady in a harsh tone. Summer jumped, she was leaning across the desk to retrieve a pen and was unaware of how she appeared to others. Summer jumped, "I'm sorry, I dropped my pen. I didn't realize..." She stammered embarrassed. Bryce watched the exchange between the two women with a smirk on his face. He didn't even notice the awkward position Summer was in and it amused him that Dianna did. For all of her bluster, she certainly seemed interested in more than just a professional relationship. "Um, um!" Bryce cleared his throat to get the women's attention. Mrs. Towers was trying her best not to laugh. She knew this would be a new year of women trying to get this young man's attention. Mrs. Towers shook her head as she chuckled to herself as she recalled events from previous years. "Ladies, I hope your day was uneventful and everything went well. Did any of you have any problems that we need to address?" Bryce asked calmly. Mrs. Towers was the first to speak. She explained that so far her class seemed to be fine, but she could tell some of the kids might become serious troublemakers. Summer talked about how some of the boys in her class tried to flirt with her, and the fact that a couple were definitely too old to be in the sixth grade. Bryce listened to their concerns and asked each teacher to compile a list of students that were in their classes that were thirteen years or older. The meeting ended and everyone stood to leave. It had been a long day and everyone was tired. "Mr. Yearly, I have some questions about a couple of my students can I speak with you privately." Dianna asked after Mrs. Towers and Summer had left his room. Jasmine, that was her fragrance, jasmine.Bryce was dumbfounded. He wanted to spend a few minutes with her all day and now she was giving him time alone in his classroom. "Dianna, it's the end of the day. Let's go to Betty's Place and get some barbeque." Bryce suggested. "That way we can talk about your students in a relaxed atmosphere." At the use of her first named, Dianna stiffened. She knew she was more than clear about keeping their relationship professional. "Mr. Yearly, if now is not a good time to talk; I can schedule a time afterschool later this week to talk to you about this. Or, do I need to talk to Mrs. Jones, I'm not sure. With you being my mentor, I thought I should come to you first. I would like to follow the correct chain of command." Dianna stated looking annoyed. Very gently, Bryce caught Dianna's hand and held it tightly. She tried to pull away, but he wouldn't let her. Lifting her hand to his lips, he gently grazed her knuckles with his lips. Dianna inhaled sharply as heat formed between her thighs. Then snatching her hand away, she turned to leave his room. "Dianna, wait!" Bryce called. "I know you want to hate me, but I am not my father. Give me a chance. Get to know me, please." "I know what he did wasn't your fault. Your father was ornery and gruff, but I felt he was honest with us. I trusted him, and he betrayed that trust." Taking a deep breath Dianna continued, "I am not going to lie to you Bryce, you are a handsome man. I find you very attractive, but after dealing with your father, I don't really believe I can trust you. He was your father after all." "I am Bryce Yearly, not Joseph. I am my own man. If you give me a chance I can show you." Bryce caressed her caramel colored cheek as he lifted her chin so that he could look in her eyes. Dianna swallowed as she looked into his eyes. She wanted this man, wanted to be with him, but if she gave in to her desires and learned he could not be trusted, what did that say about her. "I'm sorry, Bryce. I can't." She turned to walk away. Bryce stopped her with a question. "I know he stole money from you and that was bad. What else did my father do? What sins am I being punished for?" Bryce asked quietly. "You don't get it. For me, it wasn't just about the money. Even though he was a money hungry ogre, he was the one constant... It's hard to explain." "Dianna, I don't care about the past. My dad messed up, but he's gone now. I am not him. He put my Mom and me out on the streets when I was eleven years old, so I know he was an evil and selfish bastard. He showed up at my house one week before he died with no place to go. I took him in because at the time it was the only thing I could do." Bryce explained. "Bryce, I don't blame you for him. And after listening to you I like him even less. I don't want to think about Joseph Yearly anymore, OK." Dianna declared. Bryce smiled, "Then don't. "I believe we would be good together, but you have to trust me. I know this is hard for you and I understand that. Give me a chance to prove myself Dianna." Tilting her face forward looking deep into her eyes, Bryce wanted to promise her the world. Dianna swallowed as she looked into his eyes. She wanted this man, wanted to be with him, but if she gave in to her desires and learned he could not be trusted, what did that say about her. "I'm sorry, Bryce. I can't." She turned to walk away. Bryce stopped her with a question. "Dianna, give me a chance. Give us a chance. What do you have to lose? Bryce asked quietly. "Bryce," she whispered, "If I trust you, give you a chance and you hurt me. I can't ... I don't know if...., I gotta go!" Dianna then rushed from his room. Bryce was frustrated. I am not my father. Why does she keep trying to lump me in with him? I don't get it. She tells me she knows what he did is not my fault, but refuses to get to know me. Forget it. I'll leave her alone and find someone else. I don't feel like dealing with her issues. Bryce surmised. Meanwhile as Dianna was headed home, she sat on the bus and thought about Bryce and how unfair she was being to him. It's really not fair to keep blaming him for his Dad; he did try to rectify the situation. I know what Joseph did was not his fault. Maybe I should give him a chance. Maybe I can trust him. She got off at her bus stop and walked to her house. At this point she entered her house thinking about the handsome man at her job. That night she decided to give Bryce a chance. She would arrive at work early so she could talk to him the next morning and let him know about her decision. * Thank you again for reading and I hope you enjoyed the story. Part 2 will be out shortly. Please remember to vote, comment, and send feedback. I really want to know what you think. Dianna Ch. 02 Hi, I am happy to be writing again. At this point she had made it to her house. She got out of her car and went inside thinking about the handsome man at her job. That night she decided to give Bryce a chance. She would arrive at work early so she could talk to him the next morning and let him know about her decision. The next day at work, Bryce had made a complete one eighty degree turn around. He decided to stop his romantic pursuit of Dianna, giving her the space she demanded, and treat her as he would any other colleague. Dianna arrived at school early to set up for her students. Today the classes would rotate in two hour blocks and she would meet the other children she was responsible for teaching. She was unsure what to expect from the students. Even though day one with her homeroom class had went well, she was meeting the other students for the first time today. Even though, she tried to ignore negative remarks, a few filtered through concerning some of the older students. When Bryce arrived at work, Dianna walked to his room. The first thing she wanted to do was apologize for running out, and then she needed his advice on how to approach the upcoming day. Dianna made it to Bryce's door and knocked. "Come in." Bryce called. His heartbeat accelerated when he looked up and saw her enter the room, but his face remained impassive. "Good morning Bryce, I wanted to-" Bryce stopped her abruptly. In an emotionless, cold voice he stated, "Good morning Ms. Bouvier, you stated that we should maintain a professional relationship and I agree. I will no longer attempt to approach you or converse with you in any way that can be deemed inappropriate. While we are at school we will address each other with our surnames and strive to work together and keep any personal feeling about each other under wraps. I apologize for coming on too strong to you yesterday, and I assure you it will not happen again." Dianna was shocked. She felt as if someone had ripped her heart from her chest and stomped on it. His word cut her to the quick. She'd just built up the nerve to tell this guy, she'd like to give him a chance and he cut her off at the knees. She was hurt, but hid it behind an angry outburst. "Well, it seems you are capable of comprehending simple directives. I am glad you finally get it. I would have hated to take a complaint of harassment to the principal which I had considered doing. Since you seem to get it now, I will try my best to not allow my dislike of you to cloud my time here at Armstrong. Have a nice day, Mr. Yearly. I will see you this afternoon when we meet to discuss my students." Dianna then turned and marched stoically out if his room. Bryce watched her walk away and it felt as if his world had ended. He knew he had just made a fatal mistake. He heard her angry words, but he also heard the pain she was struggling to hide behind them. He saw the tears as they gathered in her eyes. He never meant to hurt her and he'd find a way to earn her forgiveness. Dianna had to get away from him for a moment. She walked into the teacher's lounge where she spoke to a couple of people that she passed and marched quickly into a restroom stall, locking the door behind her. It was then that she allowed the tears she'd been holding back to fall. He hurt her. Bryce Yearly, hurt her and he didn't even realize it. She never should have allowed herself to begin to care about him. I can't believe this, I finally, ... Well..... Forget it. Momma is right. She wiped away her tears and went to the mirror to fix her makeup. Mrs. Towers came in. She could tell something was wrong. "Ms. Bouvier, what's wrong?" She queried. "Nothing," Dianna answered, "Just being reminded of a lesson my Momma taught me. I'm fine." She smiled at Mrs. Towers. "Now let's go face these new students today." The two women exited the lounge and walked back to their classrooms. Mrs. Towers had been at Armstrong for many years, and she knew a falsehood when she heard it. She felt that Dianna could handle whatever it was that upset her and decided not to press. But she was curious as to what upset the young woman. Dianna made it to her classroom door and prepared to greet her students: Summer, also stood in her door, as well as Mrs. Towers and Bryce. A part of Dianna wanted to look at Bryce and see if his expression or demeanor had changed, but refused to acknowledge his presence. She did give in and sneak a peek at his door, and saw him staring back at her. Mrs. Towers noticed the subtle exchange and finally realized part of the puzzle as to why Dianna was crying early in the morning. Dianna continued working that day and not allowing the thoughts of a certain man dominate her brain. She would find herself glancing towards his door hoping to catch a glimpse of him Sitting at her desk, Dianna began to questions herself, What is wrong with me? I'm gone over some man. I know he's fine, but he's not worth all this stress. I'll just have to stop thinking about him. Another class was lined up and ready to enter Dianna's room. These students were Mrs. Thyme homeroom class, and Ms. Thyme had already told her about two of the boys in her class. The class entered her room quickly and quietly, all except the last two boys. As soon as the boys arrived at her door, she stopped them. "Excuse me, gentleman," Dianna said standing in front of the young men. "Are you serious? Do you really think I am going to allow you in my classroom behaving the way you are?" Dianna asked the young men sternly. "Dang! Shorty, calm down." Marcus replied. "What's got you all hot and bothered? I can help cool you off." He added winking at Dianna lewdly grabbing his crotch area. Dianna was annoyed. Even though she had been warned about their outrageous behavior, she didn't think little boys would really be that bold. Keamon thought that his buddy was hilarious and fell over from laughing so hard. Giving both boys a stern look and saying in her most serious voice, she let it be known that such lewd and lascivious behavior would not be tolerated in her class. Keamon calmed down immediately; however, the Marcus became belligerent and aggressive as he angrily approached the teacher. Bryce heard a commotion in the hall and came to his door, immediately. As soon as one of the boys became overly aggressive, Bryce interceded and called for security. Taking out his phone, Bryce called for the resource officer. At this point Mrs. Towers and Ms. Thyme had stepped out to investigate the disturbance. "This is Mr. Yearly, on the sixth grade hall, we need Officer Thigpen immediately." Bryce said into his phone. Upon hearing this Marcus decided fight. He swung at Bryce and Bryce grabbed him in a secure hold. Marcus' movement actually frightened Dianna and she yelped. "Ms. Bouvier, please stand in your door to witness this until the resource officer arrives. I want to make sure, Mr. Bright here does not try anything and fabricate these events into his favor? The rest of the day progressed and finally ended. Dianna exited her classroom and met Summer in the hall. Summer had heard about her altercation involving the two boys from her class and was concerned. "Ms. Bouvier, are you alright? I saw some of what happened with Marcus and Keamon." Summer asked. She was terrified of the two boys and couldn't imagine how she would handle a situation where they became overtly aggressive. "I'm fine. Fortunately, Mr. Yearly came out and helped to get the situation under control." Dianna explained as she breathed a sigh of relief. The two women were walking past Bryce's room when Bryce called out to them. "Ms. Thyme, Ms. Bouvier, will you come in please? I need to speak to you. Both women turned and walked into his room. When Dianna's eyes fell on him, Bryce's heart rate increased. He wondered if she could hear the thumping that was so loud it seemed to roar in his ears. He toned down his desire. She'd been more than clear that she wanted nothing more than a professional relationship with him, and he'd honor her wish. Dianna and Summer entered his room. He asked both women to sit down and offered them bottled water. They then proceeded to talk about the events that occurred that day. Both women learned that Marcus Bright would be transferred to Carver Alternative School for the rest of the school year and Keamon Battle, was given a four day suspension with strict supervision upon his return. Both Dianna and Summer were relieved. Although one of the young men was going to comeback, he was not the more violent one. The three teachers continued to recap the day and address any concerns the novice teachers had. Eventually they all headed home. Summer was being picked up by her friends leaving Bryce and Dianna alone. "Well, Ms. Bouvier, I certainly hope the day's events haven't made you want to leave our profession." Bryce said jokingly. "No, I met tougher characters at the detention center. That young man is in for a surprise when he gets there." Dianna added chuckling. Bryce looked across the parking lot, then at Dianna. "Look, this morning, I was out of-". Dianna waved her hand to silence him. "Don't worry about it. It's OK. I told you I wanted a professional relationship and you just reminded me of the parameters I put in place." Walking away she added, "I won't forget and cross that line again." Bryce stood and watched her walk away. He felt sad, as if he just blown a fantastic opportunity. The rest of the week went by uneventfully. The teachers taught classes and had faculty meetings as usual. Finally, the weekend came, and it was time for a short break. Dianna had been depressed about the events that occurred earlier that week, particularly, her conversation with Bryce. Dianna decided to simply, let it go. It was a Friday night and she wanted to get out of the house. She called her friend, Jamarkius, and asked if he was busy. Jamarkius met Dianna at the local club. Tonight a local deejay was spinning records and air was buzzing with energy. Dianna wanted to forget about her horrid week, so she spent a lot of time on the dance floor. Summer came in with a group of friends and the two women exchanged pleasantries. Summer spoke to Jamarkius, even though he made her a little uncomfortable. But Dianna liked him, so maybe he wasn't so bad. Dianna had a few drinks and was beginning to feel tipsy. All of a sudden the deejay popped in her favorite dance hit. Dianna grabbed Jamarkius' hand to dance, but he waved her off. She went on to the dance floor alone, where Summer joined her in the fun. Trey Songz's voice boomed out of the speakers to a hip hop beat. Bottoms up, bottoms up. Hey what's in yo' cup. Gotta coupla bottles, but a coupla ain't enough. Bottoms up, bottoms up. Dianna and Summer were deep into the dance dominating the dance floor surrounded by scores of people. Everyone was gyrating, bucking, and engrossed in the music. Bryce walked into the club. He had decided to just go out to try and get over a stressful week. As he entered the club, he bumped into someone. "Excuse me," he said then looking up. He looked straight into the angry eyes of Jamarkius. Jamarkius didn't like him because he recalled how he watched Dianna the last time they were here. What really bothered him was the fact that Dianna watched him back. He didn't mind the man checking out his woman, but he knew that for her to notice him, that meant she held some feelings for him. "Hey, son Bruce, right." Jamarkius greeted the competition glaring at him with cold dark eyes.. "Actually it's Bryce" Bryce replied squaring his shoulders to show this man he was not intimidated. "Hmmmm! Whatever." Jamarkius responded, "Dianna is here with me. Unlike last time, if I have to leave, she leaves with me. You understand, teacher man." Jamarkius addressed Bryce in a derisive tone while patting him on a shoulder. Bryce glared at the pompous jerk standing in front of him. The stare down lasted until a young lady interrupted the two men as she passed by them on her way to the restroom. Bryce walked away from Jamarkius and up to the bar to order a drink. On his way to the bar, he noticed Dianna and Summer in the middle of the dance floor. The two girls were having a great time. He did not miss how relaxed and happy Dianna looked while she danced. Just for a moment, he hoped that one day she would look at him and smile that way. But this week, he'd messed up royally. His little speech earlier that week definitely blew any chances he had to get next to her. Dianna felt her skin begin to tingle while she was dancing. Slowly she looked around the club. She saw her date, Jamarkius, flirting with a cute blonde that had just walked in. She saw Summer friends each laughing and having a good time. Then, the music stopped and as she and Summer were leaving the dance floor to take a short break, her eyes strayed to the bar. Sitting in the center of the bar was Bryce, the man that starred in her fantasies. He was nursing his drink, so she quickly looked away so he would not think she was staring at him. She returned to the table where she and Jamarkius was sitting just as her date returned from flirting. "Well, did you get her number?" Dianna asked Jamarkius jokingly. Chuckling as he sat down, he replied "Girl, you know I only see you. I ran into teacher boy earlier and had to put him in his place." Dianna perked up. "You talked to Bryce." Squinting her eyes and glaring at him she asked, "What did you say to him?" Leaning back and becoming slightly irritated Jamarkius stated. "What did I say to him, Damn girl. You didn't ask about what he might have said to me?" She didn't really want to argue with him tonight. He was her friend after all and she did invite him out. "You're right Jamarkius. I should have asked. But I know you have a temper and I really don't need the headache. But, hey. Let's forget about him and enjoy the rest of the night." Bryce watched Dianna and Jamarkius the entire time they were in the club. A little after midnight, Dianna and Jamarkius left. Bryce noticed how he kept his hands all over her the entire time they were there. He became angry at the thought of her being with that bastard. Bryce called for his tab, paid it, and decided to call it a night. Meanwhile, Jamarkius drove Dianna to her house. Dianna prayed that Tasha was home, because she really didn't feel like fighting him off tonight. When they reached her house, Jamarkius walked to her door and invited himself in. Dianna went along with him for a minute and made coffee for them as he talked. "Hey, Jamarkius, I have to be up early tomorrow to take care of some things. I think you should leave." Dianna suggested after listening to him talk for a while. "Give me some sugar, baby, and I'll go." Jamarkius replied as he scooted over next to her on the couch. Dianna kissed him even though she felt like she was kissing a wet rag. Fortunately for her Tasha was home and she came into the room. So Jamarkius ended his wet, slimy kiss and headed home. "Dianna, I don't like that guy. He's dangerous" Tasha told Dianna after Jamarkius left. "He's not so bad. Besides, I've known him a while. He just takes getting used to." Dianna stated trying to relieve Tasha's concern, but really she was not very comfortable around her old friend anymore. Another couple of months of the school year progressed. Dianna and Summer met with Bryce at least three time each week for an evaluation on their performances, to work on their curriculum, and quick Q and A sessions. Bryce cleverly scheduled a couple of their meeting during their conference periods so that they didn't have to stay afterschool late more than two days a week. He rarely spent time alone with Dianna during these few months, but that didn't mean he did not watch her. He noticed everything she did. However, they kept all of their interactions completely above board. One Wednesday at the end of the day a faculty meeting was held. The meeting was extremely long and it was turning dark when it ended. Dianna left the school to walk over to the bus stop when Bryce offered her a ride home. She immediately refused. "Dianna, you are not catching a bus this late in the afternoon. Let Bryce take you to your house. There is nothing wrong with allowing someone to help you." Mrs. Towers chimed in as she was headed to her car where her husband was waiting. Feeling like she was on the spot, Dianna reluctantly accepted his offer. Bryce walked her to his car, and held the door for her. Once Dianna was in the car, Bryce tried to make small talk. "So, how are you? Are you still dating that guy? I haven't seen you at the Club in a while." Dianna adjusted herself in the seat. Dianna replied. "I've been fine and Jamarkius and I are off again." "Dianna, I know I have no rights here, but that guy... Well, I really don't like him." Bryce took a deep breath inhaling the scent of Jasmine that permeated her skin. "Will you go out with me? Before you say no, just think about it." Dianna's heart pounded in her chest. Her body betrayed her and her panties became soaked. Her nipples hardened, and she crossed her arms across her chest to hide them. Bryce noticed her movement and took it to mean that he had annoyed her again. Soon, he pulled in front of her house and helped her get out of his car. As he gripped her hand, an amazing sensation shot through their arms. Dianna gasped and he noticed her erect nipples poking through the fabric of her dress. His cock throbbed and he knew that as soon as he got home, he'd be pounding his meat raw at the thought of her. "I'll think about it. Going out with you I mean." Looking away from his face and blushing, Dianna thanked him for the ride home and rushed into her house. Bryce smiled as she closed and locked her door. He felt better than he had in months. If her body's reaction was any indication, she was not as immune to him as she pretended to be. Whistling to himself, Bryce drove home with a smile on his face. The next day at school, Bryce made sure he stopped by Dianna's classroom to speak to Dianna. She looked across her room and saw him standing in her doorway. Smiling, they greeted each other warmly. The rest of the day progressed uneventfully. Before long, half of the school year was over, and it was time for a winter break. The students were dismissed early and the staff had a pre-holiday party. Gifts were exchanged and everyone went home. Dianna had several packages to carry so Bryce gave her another lift home. Dianna happily accepted his offer, because secretly she wanted to spend time alone with him again. While driving her home, Bryce decided to see if she'd thought about going out with him. "So, Dianna, have you thought about going out with me?" Bryce queried. Dianna was nervous, she wanted to scream yes, but she didn't want to seem too eager. As she chewed her bottom lip, she shyly answered, "Ok, I'll go out with you." Bryce was ecstatic. "Really, wow, that is great! So is Tuesday night good for you." He'd already made preregistrations at his favorite restaurant Lillo's. He just needed to confirm. Dianna Ch. 02 Dianna smiled at him, and he felt amazing. "Yes, Bryce. I would love to go out with you Tuesday. " Tuesday night arrived quicker than Dianna thought it would. She had told Tasha about her date with Bryce and Tasha declared immediately that they had to go shopping. So equipped with a new navy blue dress that shaped to her body voluptuous body accentuating her slim waist, along with sexy lingerie that matched the dress with matching pumps, Dianna would look amazing for her date. Bryce picked her up at six. Dianna finished her shower and started to get dressed an hour early. She oiled her skin with the Jasmine scented lotion that she loved and proceeded to dress in the sexy lingerie that she was sure he would not see but the strapless bra and tiny panties made her feel wanton and sexy. She then shimmered into the form fitting navy dress that she'd purchased just for this night. The dress covered her body and hugged her curves like a second skin. She sat at her vanity applied a light coating of makeup and removed the silky wrap cap from her head. She then stood in the full length mirror to see how she looked. Dianna had to admit that she was stunning. The doorbell rang and since no one else was home so she went to answer the door. Looking outside, she saw that Bryce had arrived early. Her heartbeat accelerated. Opening the door, she let him in and wondered if he could hear her heart beating in her chest. Standing before her was a perfect male specimen. Her body shivered as she looked at him from head to toe. Her eyes absorbed how his pinstriped navy suit hugged his upper body as if it was tailored just for him and the crispness of the collar of the dress shirt that peaked out from underneath. Her eyes traveled down the length of him drinking in the slim tapered waist leading to the long sexy legs encased in a dark pair of trousers ending at the top of navy and black wing-tipped Stacy Adams. Bryce's eyes were riveted on the beauty that stood in front of him. He always thought that she was a lovely woman but tonight a Goddess stood before him. She looked amazing the dress she wore. It covered her like a second skin. He inhaled the scent of Jasmine on her skin and his body was as hard as steel. When Dianna came to the door wearing the dress she had chosen, Bryce could not help as his imagination ran wild at the thought of what she was wearing underneath. Bryce, who was speechless until now, spoke "Dianna, you look amazing. I, Wow!, Amazing!" Blushing and just as stunned, Dianna said, "Thank you, Bryce. You look handsome as well." Looking away Dianna added, "Please have a seat. Would you like a drink?" "No, I'm fine. I can just sit here until you're ready." Bryce replied. After making sure her guest was comfortable, Dianna went and put the final touches on her makeup for the evening. When she came out from the back, she and Bryce headed out for the evening. Bryce had made reservations at Lillo's. The couple was greeted by the hostess and led to their seats. "Wow! Dianna, you look amazing. If I'm dreaming, please let me sleep" Bryce said staring at the lovely woman sitting in front of him. Dianna was so nervous. This is just dinner with a guy from work. It's really no big deal. I've got to calm down. "So, Dianna, other than you rented a house from my dad and now teach, I don't know a lot about you. Tell me what makes Dianna tick?" Bryce asked after they'd ordered drinks from their server. "Well, there's not much to tell. I was raised by my Mom. She never talked about my Dad. But I had a great childhood." Dianna explained. She told him about getting her first job, starting her own babysitting company, and even saving enough of her own money to go to school. If Bryce was not infatuated before, he was captivated by her when she reached the end of her tale. Dianna realized that she was talking so much that Bryce was not talking. "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't mean to monopolize the conversation. Tell me something I don't know about you Bryce?" "Well, I was also raised by my Mom and grandmother from the time I was eleven. Joseph, really didn't want a family. He only married my Mom because she got pregnant with me." "He reminded me every day that I cost him money and ruined his life. The year I turned eleven, times were really hard. I broke my arm so they now had medical bills. Joseph got mad one day, and let's just say I thank God for my Grandmother. She was the glue that held us together." Dianna held his hand across the table as he revealed her the horrible memories from his childhood. At the end of his story, Dianna had gained a whole new level of respect for him. Bryce Yearly was definitely his own man. She could not find any reason at this point to not give him a chance. She liked him. After eating dinner, the couple decided to take in a movie. Even though the movie was not one Dianna would normally watch, she truly enjoyed seeing the movie with Bryce. Before long the evening came to an end. As Bryce pulled into her driveway, and escorted her to her door, she invited him in for coffee. Bryce wanted more than anything to accept, but he didn't want to risk pushing her too fast. He knew if he went in, they would end up doing more than drinking coffee. So he kindly refused, but gave her a fervent good night kiss. He waited until Dianna was safely inside before he drove off. Dianna stood watching him drive off from her window. "Ooooooh girl, tell me the dirt." squealed Tasha. Dianna jumped because she was so enthralled by the man that drove away, she didn't realize her friend was even in the room. "Hey, I thought you had to work tonight?" she asked Tasha. "I did, but it was slow, so they sent me home. Dish!" Tasha demanded. "Well, he's nice. I like him." Dianna stated and then tried to change the topic. "So, we need to plan Christmas Dinner this year. We need to decide which one of us will cook?" Tasha was pensive for a moment and then burst out laughing, "Mrs. Lucas and Mrs. Sanchez, girl you know they'd spank us if we went near the kitchen." Dianna and Tasha share a nice laugh. Their unconventional family celebrated Christmas together every year. Mrs. Sanchez and Mrs. Lucas cooked all of the meals and declared that Tasha and Dianna could make the drinks. The first year Dianna and Tasha wanted to host the dinner and tried to cook it. After the fire department left, Mrs. Sanchez and Mrs. Lucas, banned the two young women from preparing the holiday meal. Dianna and Tasha talked a while longer and then they went to bed. Right before she lay down, Dianna's phone ring. "Hey beautiful, I wanted to tell you I had a great time tonight. Do you have plans tomorrow? I would love to spend the day together." Bryce's smooth tone flowed through the phone line. Smiling into the phone, excited to hear his voice, Dianna answered, "I need to do some Christmas shopping. I have to buy gifts for everyone. So I'd love to spend the day with you." "I've got to buy my Mom's gift. Maybe I can bribe you to help me find her something. So can I pick you up early, say seven?" Bryce asked. "Great see you at seven." Yawning, Dianna bid him a good night. Then she fell asleep with a certain dark-skinned God starring in her dreams. The next morning, Dianna was up early waiting for Bryce to arrive. Bryce arrived, rang her doorbell, and Dianna invited him. Bryce entered and waited for her to get her coat and they headed to Hardee's for breakfast. "So, do you have any idea of what you want to buy for your Mom? My Mom basically told me what she wants, and as her only daughter I am required to get her whatever she asks for." Dianna informed him smiling. Laughing, Bryce asked. "You mean your Mom told you exactly what she wanted. Man, I wish I was that lucky. My Mom always say, "I'm happy with whatever you get me son. Then, I can always tell when I disappoint her. She pulls this fake smile and the pitch of her voice rises and she thanks me." Dianna laughed, "Hey call her and she if she can give you some hints today. Together, I'm sure we will find something she likes. I have my Mom's list, so we're good on that front." After that they finished breakfast and started on their adventures for the day. They started at the mall. It was busy and crowded. Bryce took every opportunity he could to touch and hold onto his companion. Each time he held her by her waist or took her hands, he would always look at her face to see if she objected, but each time he held her she smiled a little more. They stopped for lunch at a local pub and had a wonderful time chatting. Before long it was night, and Dianna was tired "Hey, I know it's late. Are you ready to head home? I hate for this evening to end. Let me make you dinner.?" Bryce asked. "Ha, When tonight? Are you serious?" Dianna laughed. They had been together since seven that morning, and it was almost nine o'clock at night. It was too late for someone to cook a dinner. "Well, not tonight, I meant maybe another day after Christmas. How about it?" Bryce queried. "Well, you are a slick one, aren't you? You've got a deal, but I get to bring dessert." added Dianna chuckling. "It's a deal. One thing, I don't like nuts of any kind." Bryce added. The mood inside the car became quieted as they arrived in her driveway. Dianna saw that Tasha was home. "Hey, my roommate is in, do you want to come in and meet her? Well, you met her at the meeting years ago, it's just..." Dianna stammered. Bryce reached over and touched her chin. "Yes, I'd love to meet your roommate. I just hope she doesn't hate me, too much." They got out of the car and entered the living room where Tasha was watching a movie. "Hey, Tasha, I want you to meet Bryce. Bryce, this is my roommate and best friend LaTasha Black." Smiling as she introduced two people who were important to her. "Well, so this is the mystery man. Tell me Bryce, what are you plans for my best friend?" Tasha asked giggling. Bryce smiled, he liked her. "Well, I'm hoping to get to know her better and maybe, well.. Who knows?" Dianna pushed her friend playfully and admonished her to quit teasing him. Eventually Tasha went to bed, and left them alone. "Bryce, can I kiss you?" Dianna asked timidly. "Baby, that is one question you never have to ask." Bryce chuckled. Pulling her close in his arms, she leaned into him and covered his lips with hers. When their lips met, her heart pounded in her chest. Bryce's spirit soared as he reveled in the feel of her lips gently caressing his. As the kiss ended and their heartbeats slowed down, both exhaled. Then noticing the hour, Bryce stood to leave. "I hate this part, but baby, I've got to go. I'm visiting my Mom for the next few days, but I will call you every day I am away." His hand was stroking his cheek, she grabbed it and kissed his palm, smiling and said, "I'll miss you and you'd better call." Dianna whispered softly. He then kissed her passionately and then went home. Bryce went to visit his mother and over the next few days Dianna was extremely busy. She finished Christmas shopping on her outing with Bryce. She and Tasha collected toys for needy children and delivered them to the Our House Shelter. They both even helped serve Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve at the homeless shelter. Bryce called her everyday just to say hello. Christmas day arrived and Dianna received a great surprise. When Mr. George arrived he brought a special guest with him. Dianna opened the door and was overjoyed, to see her mother Genevieve at the door with Mr. George. Her mother decided to spend Christmas with her daughter and her extended family this year. As they were sitting down for dinner, she thought about Bryce and hoped he was having a wonderful time with his Mom. She missed him. While she was musing, the doorbell rang and Bryce walked in accompanied by his mother. Dianna rushed from the table and leaped into his arms. He even brought gifts to her and everyone in her family. Christmas day was very special to both of them. They were ecstatic to spend the day together. They all had a great time. When dinner was over and Bryce's mother, Catherine, and Genevieve were talking with the other house guest. Bryce asked Dianna to go for a ride with him. They let Tasha know so she could tell anyone that missed them that they'd be back. Bryce drove to his house. He wanted to spend some time alone with Dianna and give her a special surprise he had bought for her. Dianna had never been to Bryce's house and was very impressed with how immaculate it was. He led her to his den and offered her a drink. He then presented her with his gift. He was so nervous. "Dianna, I bought something for you. I hope you like it." He gave her a beautifully wrapped package. Dianna opened it and inside the package was a huge stuffed white bear wearing a blue and green plaid tie. "Bryce," Dianna gasped, tears forming in her eyes. "I can't believe this, where did you find him?" She asked hugging her new friend. "I remember you telling me about wanting a bear like this when you were little, and you didn't tell you Mom because you didn't want to upset her. When I was driving to Mom's the other day, I stopped at a small eatery and saw him sitting in the window at shop across the street and had to get him for you. Do you really like it?" Bryce asked nervously, becoming concerned at the tears that were flowing from her eyes. Leaping into his arms and hugging him tightly, Dianna declared, "Baby, I love it. Thank you. This is the best gift ever. Ohh Bryce..." Dianna was speechless as she held on to him. Bryce rubbed her back with both of his hands and reveled in the feel of her luscious body as it was pressed tightly against him. Slowly his body began to heat up. "Hey baby, so what will you name him?" Bryce asked as he tried to get control of his libido. Dianna began laughing, because she had the perfect name for her new friend. "Mr. B., his name is Mr. B.. She started to slide down his body as he slowly released her. "Mr. B., what does it mean?" Bryce asked curiously. At this point she was out of his arms, and had moved over to cuddle with her new friend. Dianna stroked the side of his face as they stood together for a moment. She was staring to have deep feeling for him and after tonight she could tell he made a great impression on her family "Dianna," Bryce sighed as he closed his eyes and luxuriated in the feel of her stroking his skin. Bryce caught her hand and kissed it gently. Then he kissed her passionately. Leading her to the futon in the den, Bryce laid back and gently pulled Dianna on top of him. "Baby, I lo..." he stopped. "Wait, what did you say?" Dianna asked. Bryce didn't want to scare her away by moving too fast, so he covered. "Nothing, I was saying I loved having dinner with your family today. We'd better go. Mom is supposed to be staying with me for a couple of days and I shouldn't leave her alone for so long. "Um, You're right. I need to get home. I do have guest." Dianna said getting off the futon. Bryce stood and pulled her into a passionate embrace and kissed her slowly. Then he drove her back to her house. When they got back to her House, Bryce opened her door for her and Dianna walked into the house carrying her new friend Mr. B in her arms. At this point everyone was tired and Mr. George needed to get back home. So, Bryce offered to drive him home and he gathered his Mom and left, kissing Dianna at the door before leaving for the last time. "So, do you have a date for New Years' Eve? Dianna asked. "There's a gathering at the Club, I was wondering...?" Bryce chuckled, "You think I'd miss a chance to kiss all over you. I'm there girl." Bryce was excited about joining Dianna on New Year's Eve at the local club. New Year's Eve arrived and Bryce picked both Dianna and Tasha up and they headed to the club. Tasha was meeting some friends at the club and simply needed a ride. Everyone at the club was mingling, dancing, and having a great time. Bryce and Dianna danced to a few songs when she decided to take a break. Bryce was dancing with Tasha as Dianna found her way to the table to sit down. "So, I see, you let teacher boy hit that" Dianna flinched at the sound of Jamarkius' voice. He sat across from her and she felt extremely apprehensive. "You know I don't want you going out with him." "Jamarkius, we are not together. You don't have the right to tell me who to date. Please leave." Dianna ordered with more confidence than she felt. Months ago after her last date with Jamarkius, he was extremely forward with her and she found herself actually afraid. If Tasha had not been home, well, she didn't want to think about it. Jamarkius stroked her cheek with his finger and she felt her stomach lurch. "You like Teacher Man, right. If you want him to stay pretty, this is your last date with him." he then walked away. Bryce finished dancing with Tasha and joined Dianna at the table. He could tell something was wrong. "Hey what happened? Are you alright.?" Dianna plastered a smile on her face and answered, "I'm fine. I just had a bad feeling that's all." Then, she went on to enjoy the rest of their evening. They even culminated the night by sharing a mind-numbing kiss at the stroke of midnight. After midnight, Dianna looked around and didn't see Jamarkius anymore, so she felt a sense of relief. Bryce drove both women home. Before leaving he and Dianna spent a few minutes talking on the porch. "So, now am I your boyfriend?" Asked Bryce sheepishly, kissing the tip of her nose. "Hmm, never wanted you as a boyfriend, I would prefer to call you my man. What do you think?" She asked smiling and was rewarded with a hot kiss. "That makes you my woman, right? I like it. So my woman, I will see you later this morning." Kissing her one last time, he bid her goodnight and drove home. Ch. 4 A few days later school was back in session. The kids and teachers spent day one getting reacquainted before they settled back in to their normal routine. Bryce and Dianna continued to see each other outside of school hours, but made sure they kept their association professional when they were at the school. The first week of school led to their first tiff as a couple. "Dianna, I have to meet with Mrs. Jones for a few minutes afterschool today, wait on me alright." Bryce said to her one Wednesday afternoon. Dianna was puzzled, "Why do we need to talk about something? Have I done something wrong?" she asked. Not being able to think of any other reason he would want her to wait for him. Besides, she wanted to get home and change clothes so she could be comfortable when they went out that evening. Bryce's face flushed, "Di, I thought we were together and I would like to give you a ride home." "Mr. Yearly, I thought we agreed to keep our work life and private life separate?" Dianna asked looking around to make sure no one was near to hear their conversation. "Look, I'll catch the bus home now, and we can talk about this when you come over." She reached out to touch his cheek, but remembered they were at school and retracted her hand. Bryce noticed the small movement, and felt hurt. "Fine, I guess you can do whatever you want. Better hurry, I'd hate for you to miss your bus." He walked off. "Dianna was slightly puzzled. She didn't understand why he was so upset. She was just catching the bus home. She went to the bus stop, boarded her bus, and went home. Dianna was waiting at home for about an hour before she began to wonder what was keeping Bryce. Usually, he would pull in right behind her, but he had a meeting today so she expected him to be a little late. Another forty-five minutes past and she decided to call. Dianna Ch. 02 His phone rang. Bryce looked at the caller ID and picked up immediately. "Hello, this is Bryce. May I ask whose calling?" "Hey, it's Dianna. I thought you were coming over after work. What happened?" she queried. She could tell from his tone that he was upset. "Well, it seems to me that my WOMAN is ashamed to be seen with me in public. She barely speaks to me at work. Refuses to let me give her rides home, and will not be alone in my classroom with me for more than a few minutes. Hell, even if it's just the two of us there, she won't even give me a kiss." He answered snidely. Dianna was shocked by his words and the pain he was trying to hide. "Baby, I am so sorry I hurt you. I am not and can never be embarrassed by you. Sweetheart you are perfect. Listen to me. I was trying to keep our relationship at work separate from our private lives. I've only been at this school a few months, but I don't want to be a topic of the gossip gallows. Bryce, you mean so much to me and I am so sorry, You know what from now on you can pick me up and drop me off from now on. OK, baby." Dianna said sweetly. Bryce smiled, she always knew how to get to him. "Ok, but no more bus riding right?" he asked. "I'll only ride you, oops, with you. "Dianna replied blushing. Bryce laughed out loud. "Now baby," she asked. "Can you please come get me? I miss you." But Bryce didn't hear the rest because he'd dropped the phone and was heading straight for his car. Five minutes later he was pulling up in her driveway. Bryce entered her house and had a seat at her dining room table. Dianna put the coffee on and the young couple talked a little more. The evening ended with Dianna being wrapped tightly in Bryce's arms. She luxuriated in the feel of his strong arms holding her securely, keeping her safe. "So, are you still mad? Huh?" Dianna asked playfully pushing Bryce's shoulder. Bryce shrugged, realizing that maybe he overreacted a little. Decide to play down his reaction earlier. "Well, Baby, you know, I need to let people know we're together. I mean, I know we're keeping our relationship private, but Damn girl, can I give my woman a ride home. Besides, there are some good looking guys at Armstrong, I see them checking you out" Dianna smiled, "Baby, you have nothing to worry about. I want only you, and we'll ride together from now on right." Wrapping her arms around him, she pulled him into a passionate kiss. "Besides, I see how some of the third and fourth grade teachers check out your behind as you pass by. Hmm, I wanna scratch their eyes out and yell, MINE. But hey, I am able to control myself." Dianna said while nibbling on his neck. Bryce felt his body reignited at her touch. He held her in his strong arms and surrendered to her kiss. Dianna then continued to nuzzle his neck where she bit him lightly, as she desired to mark him. Not that it would show, but he'd know it was there. Bryce groaned and reveled in her possession of him. Dianna remembered the coffee and went to make them a cup. After coffee they had moved to the sofa where they reclined and held on to each other. She leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek which led to a deep passionate moment. Bryce lost himself in the feel of her. They took a break and watched some sitcoms on television while they drank coffee and ate some microwaved cinnamon buns. During the show, Dianna constantly touched Bryce. She loved touching him; slowly she slid her hands under his shirt to stroke his chest. Bryce shivered, he wanted more. As Dianna rubbed her hands across his chest, she began to pinch his nipples. Bryce's cock was as stiff as a board, but he was determined to let her set the pace. Dianna moaned softly and he couldn't take anymore he had to touch her. He gently placed his hands under her shirt against the skin of her back and stroked her slowly. The more she caressed him, the bolder his touch became. Dianna twisted her torso so that Bryce could have access to her breast. He cupped the first mound and she groaned and shivered as he cupped her glorious mounds. He gently raked his thumbs across both nipples and Dianna creamed her panties. Bryce knew what he wanted, but he wanted to respect her boundaries. He Had to stop, because if he didn't he'd be buried deep inside her in a few minutes and he wasn't sure she was ready for that. Slowly extraditing himself from her tight embrace, Bryce told her it was time for him to head home. "Bryce, don't go." Dianna said softly. "Baby, I would love to stay. If I stay, I will not be content with just holding you. I want to be with you, but I will not pressure you." Bryce explained. "Please, stay." Dianna implored. She then straddled his lap in an effort to get as close to him as possible. Bryce pressed his face into her neck and inhaled the sweet scent of Jasmine. His body was aroused beyond belief. He wanted this woman. Dianna rubbed her centered heat against his hardness, Bryce was ready to combust. He steadied her hips to stop her from gyrating in his lap. Groaning it took all of his strength to stop her. Dianna latched on the pulse at the base of his neck and bit him hard enough to leave a mark. She wanted to mark him. She wanted others to know he was taken. "Fuck!" Bryce groaned as she bit into his flesh. He quickly reversed their position. He was now on top of her. He took control of the moment and covered her lips with his. Desperately, Dianna tried to unbutton his shirt, but the buttons simply wouldn't cooperate. "Bryce, please!" Dianna pleaded passionately. He didn't hesitate but proceeded to rip his shirt from his body. With his dress shirt out of the way, Dianna made short work of removing his t-shirt. Then she gently rubbed his chest and shoulder, wrappi8ng her arms around him to caress his back. Enjoying the feel of him, she inhaled his fragrance while the feel of the muscles rippled throughout his well-toned body. Bryce's body was overheated and as hard as a rock. He grabbed the bottom of her dress and quickly removed it from her body, leaving her before him wearing an ivory chemise with matching panties. Bryce leaned back and admired her beauty. Dianna removed the chemise from her body exposing her voluptuous breast. Bryce gazed upon her tantalizing brown mounds as he gathered them in his hands to feel their thickness. He proceeded to cover her deep chocolate areolas with his lips and pull her thick nipples into his mouth. With each tug on her breast, Dianna felt her pussy clinch. She wanted this man more than she wanted her next breath. Dianna reached for his belt, but he stopped her. "Baby wait! I don't have anything with me. We have to stop." "Damn it. We don't have to do anything, just let me touch it." She pleaded. At the sultry tone, Bryce's control snapped and before he could blink, his pants were around his ankles. Dianna admired his eight inch steel member that protruded from his body. She wrapped her hand around it and squeezed gently. Bryce moaned, It took all of his strength not to explode the moment her hand circled his cock. He then slid his hand between her thighs to caress her hot center. Her pussy was dripping wet. He gently inserted two fingers into her hot core as she gripped his steel rod tightly. Both groaned in unison. He added a third finger as she stroked him. Gently he stroked his fingers in and out, in and out of her steaming core. She gripped his rod tightly, pumping slowly but sensuously. They both exploded together. She gushed a stream of clear hot liquid onto his hand as he spurted several hot ropes of his seed into the air. Then they simply lay still for a moment and held each other, until their breathing returned to normal. Bryce removed his hand from her pussy and licked his fingers clean. This action fascinated Dianna, and she held her breath as he cleaned each digit. Slowly, he kissed her and whispered, "Next time, I want to drink from the source." Bryce then got up and fixed his clothes. Dianna went to her bedroom and put on her robe. Walking back out to him, she flowed into his arms, not wanting the night to end. He held her close for a moment and the kissed her good night. Holding her close he whispered, "Tomorrow, I'll cook dinner. You bring the dessert; he added sucking both his fingers in to his mouth." He kissed her one more time and then walked out to his car. Dianna stood in the window and watched him drive away. When she turned around, she saw Tasha standing behind her with a smirk on her face. Fanning her face she jokingly said. "Girl, what is that smell in here? What did you and Bryce get up to?" Dianna was embarrassed as she stammered, "Well um..." Laughing she said. "You know what, don't tell me. I just wanted water." Dianna was so embarrassed that she blushed and turned to rush to her room. "No, Dianna, wait!" called Tasha, "He seems like a good man and you deserve to be happy. I like him." Dianna smiled at her friend and went into her bedroom to try to sleep and not think too much about the man that just rocked her world. At the end of the day Thursday, Dianna didn't waste any time reporting to Bryce's classroom. She and Summer had a mentoring meeting with him and she hoped it didn't last too long. Her body was in heat and her poor panties were already soaked at the thought of being with him tonight. Fortunately for her, he canceled the meeting for personal reasons and told both of them he had to reschedule. "Dianna, if you're ready to go. I can give you a ride now." He added. Summer, who had no idea of the nature of the relationship, asked for a ride also. "Oh thank goodness, Mr. Yearly, can I catch a ride also, Chad was supposed to pick me up after the meeting." Just like months earlier, Dianna was staring at him again with her arms crossed daring him to refuse her. "Sure, Summer. I'll drop you off. Why don't both you ladies get your things and meet me in the office." This allowed him time to get his body under control. It would be embarrassing to him and both ladies if they saw the massive rock he was sporting at the moment. Bryce dropped Dianna off first, and then drove Summer home. He expected her to flirt with him but she didn't. She actually talked about how he should pursuit a relationship with Dianna. She could tell she liked him. She even offered to talk him up to her, but he had to ask her out. Bryce laughed. He thanked Summer for her advice and wondered if anyone else noticed Dianna's interest in him. After Summer got out of his car, he rushed back over to Dianna's. He was going to cook a spaghetti dinner with garlic cheese toast . He'd ask her to make the salad, plus she was bringing the dessert. He pulled into her driveway and he noticed she'd changed outfits. Gone were the grey slacks and white top she wore to work replaced by a gorgeous wrap-around chocolate colored dress that he envied because it was touching her fantastic body. "Sorry, about that." He apologized. "I didn't know she'd need a ride. But hey, she thinks you have a crush on me," he added smiling, "Seems someone is not hiding their feelings as good as they thought they were." Pushing him playfully, she told him, "I thought you promised me dinner." "And dinner you shall have." Bryce promised pulling her into him for a quick kiss. Dianna sighed as their kiss concluded. They got out of the car and went into the market to purchase their items for the dinner. Dianna purchased a Hershey ice cream pie. They then went to Bryce's house to prepare their meal. "Ok, Dianna. I'm going to prepare the spaghetti. Will you make the salad?" "I thought I only had to bring the dessert?" she asked rising up on her toes to kiss him. Bryce almost forgot he was supposed to be cooking. Eventually they stopped kissing and touching each other long enough to finish their dinner. Dianna set the table, and the two sat down and enjoyed their dinner. They laughed and talked about any and everything. After they finished eating, they retired to Bryce's den to watch a move before he drove her home. Bryce reclined on the futon and Dianna lay sprawled across his chest. Bryce was really into the movie they were supposed to be watching, but Dianna had other ideas. As he watched the movie Dianna began to nibble on his neck. Bryce's concentration was blown. He had no idea what the movie was about, because the only thing on his mind was the woman in his arms. His body became overheated when she started nibbling on his neck, but he regulated his breathing to get his body in check. Now she was rubbing his chest and stomach. Dianna wanted to feel him, so she slipped her hand under the waistband of his pants. She wanted to feel his cock. She wanted to hold it, stroke it, taste it. "Baby, wait. If you don't stop now, I..." he stopped and kissed her knuckles. Dianna sat up. She looked at this man that she wanted. "Bryce, I want you." Dianna stood and untied her dress. She peeled her dress open revealing the lingerie she'd purchased just for him. The ivory lingered glimmered against her caramel colored skin. Whatever control Bryce had, snapped at the sight of her. Quickly reversing their earlier positions, he now covered her body and showered her neck and torso with kisses. Dianna's breath caught in her throat. Her heart pounded as sensations rocked through her body. Slowly he kissed and lightly sucked his way to her breast. Then he proceeded to worship each mound. Giving delicate attention to each globe Dianna moaned as she was trapped in a sea of ecstasy. Carefully but gently he removed the ivory lace bra that covered her breast so that he could gain easier access to her hidden treasures. Leaving her breast for a moment, he traveled southward to her navel that he worshiped with his tongue. He licked her stomach right above the top of her ivory laced panties. Moving back up, he covered her lips with his and kissed her passionately. Then he stopped. "Dianna, are you sure you want this? If we continue, I can't promise you I will stop if you change your mind. I want you too badly." Her answer was to grabbed his face and kiss him. Bryce immediately took control of the kiss. Pinning her beneath him he freely allowed his hands to explore her body. Before long his Goddess was lying before him naked. He admired her body. Her perfect round breast, that were just the right size for a man to hold. Her trim waist and flat stomach' Then his eyes traveled to the apex of her thighs, where her dark neatly trimmed hair glistened with moisture from her own excitement and his kisses. Dianna was not to be denied. She wanted to give as good as she could get. Her hands feverishly removed his shirt and she began to struggle with his pants. She wanted him as naked as she was. She wanted to feel his skin caress her body. Dianna moaned, "Bryce, please?" "Okay, baby. Hold on." He stood and quickly removed his clothes. Dianna was amazed at how glorious he was. She looked lovingly at every inch of him, pausing at his massive man hood that jutted from his thighs surrounded by a carpet of thick black hair. Dianna was not a virgin, but he seemed a lot bigger than the only other two men she'd been with. Leaning in they kissed. They held each other and enjoyed the contact. Dianna moved her hand down and grasped his cock. She squeezed it gently causing him to hiss. Bryce, not to be outdone, placed his hands at the apex of her thighs and indulged in her femininity. Bryce removed his fingers once again to lick her sweet nectar once again from his digits. "Uh uh, baby. Not this time he whispered. Tonight I drink from the source. The he covered her burning pussy with his mouth. He lick her entire slit from. Dianna screamed the moment his mouth made contact with her hot center. He continued to worship her hotbox with his tongue. He sucked in her nether lips and tasted her juices as it flowed from her body. While licking up, his tongue encountered her clit. Sucking the engorged nub into his mouth caused Dianna to scream. He viciously sucked and massaged her clit with his tongue guiding her into several mind-blowing climaxes. Then he greedily drank, from her until he'd had his fill. "Bryce," she whispered when he came up for air. "That was amazing. Bryce, I..." He kissed her and pulled her body on top of his. Dianna straddled him and his cock rubbed against her pussy. She came again. She was so hot Bryce almost blew his load twice. Dianna seeing he had not found release began to stroke him. Bryce was moaning. He grabbed her hand and stopped her. "Baby, too much" Smiling Dianna repositioned her body. "Wait, Condom! We need a condom!" Bryce pulled a condom out of a drawer next to the futon. "Really, Bryce?" Dianna asked chuckling. Straddling him and placing the tip of his engorged cock at her opening, she slowly enveloped him inside her. Slowly she slid her hot sheath around his engorged member as he stretched her open. He felt her heat engulf him and knew this was heaven. He'd never felt something as wonderful, warm and tight as her. He knew he'd never want another woman again. She was it for him. The she began to move. Sliding her body up and down, up and down as his pulse pounded in his ears. Dianna could not believe how incredible this man felt inside her. She felt stretched completely open, He went in so deep that he touched the mouth of her womb. When she started to ride him, the sensations were almost too much. She knew she'd only feel this way with one man. The man that was holding her now was the only man she'd want. Dianna felt the walls of her vagina vibrate and knew she was about to cum. The vibrations caused Bryce's body to clench. He felt his balls tightened and knew he couldn't hold and longer. With a loud yell, Bryce screamed. She felt amazing. She pumped twice and before he could stop it. His balls erupted spewing his hot spunk deep inside her. They held each other for a moment. They made love once more before he drove her home. The night ended and Bryce drove into her driveway. He held and kissed her at their door as he prepared to leave. Leaving her had always been hard, but after being with her tonight it was the hardest. "Hey. I'll pick you up early. We can get breakfast before going to school Dianna, I...; you mean so much to me. Go in. I'll see you in the morning" Bryce said before he kissed her once more before she went in the house and he left. Dianna went to bed with a huge smile on her face and love in her heart for a special man that she never thought she'd meet. Bryce was selected to attend a Professional Development Session over a Valentine's Day weekend. Although he really wanted to be with Dianna, he had no choice but to attend the seminar which lasted from Thursday to Tuesday. He made sure to call her each day he was away. Tasha had to work Friday night and Dianna didn't really feel like going to the club. She missed Bryce. She'd talked to him earlier that day, but she still missed him anyway. Dianna decided to make some popcorn and watch "Good Deeds" the new Tyler Perry film when her doorbell rang. She walked to the window and saw Jamarkius standing on her porch. He made her nervous. Why was he at her house? Dianna cautiously cracked her door open leaving her security chain in place. "Girl, let me in. I want to talk to you" Jamarkius demanded. "Jamarkius, why are you here? I want you to leave." Dianna snapped. "Girl, you live in this nice neighborhood, with all of these nice neighbors, do you really want me to act a fool and embarrass you in front of them? Come on Baby. Open the door." Jamarkius commanded. Dianna took a minute to call the police. "Jamarkius, I want you to leave. You are not welcomed here. The police are on the way. Dianna Ch. 02 Hearing sirens in the distance, Jamarkius got in his car and took off, but unbeknownst to Dianna, he only drove to a nearby park and parked his car. That bitch thinks she can get another man. I'll show her. Tonight, Miss Uppity, will be put in her place. Jamarkius thought menacingly. He chose when to leave a woman, no woman ever left him. The police came and Dianna explained about her ex-boyfriend. Her neighbor Carlos saw the police at Dianna house and became concerned. He walked over and heard her explained her situation to the cops. Carlos made a quick phone call to his friends who lived down the street, describing what to look for. The police and Carlos waited until Dianna was back in her house securely before leaving. Later that night, Jamarkius came back and broke the window out of the patio to sneak in the house. Dianna was asleep when she felt like she was being watched. She woke up to find a pissed off Jamarkius standing over her. It was obvious he was high. The first thing he did was try to kiss her; she resisted his advances and diverted his attention by offering him food. After she fed him, Dianna decided to try and get him to leave. Jamarkius had other ideas. He had questions. "Why you call the cops on me, Girl? I thought I was your man?" He pushed her. Dianna became frightened. "Jamarkius, we are not together now, remember. We broke up over two months ago." she explained. She looked on the table at her phone, Jamarkius saw her, and grabbed the phone slamming it into a nearby wall. Dianna screamed. She was terrified. "Fuck that! We're together until I decide we're through. Understand." Jamarkius told her as he stroked her cheek and grabbed her chin. "Hey, baby. How about it? You know it's been a while." said Jamarkius trying to pull Dianna into a kiss. She pushed him back and told him, "No, not tonight Jamarkius, I'm not feeling well." Jamarkius was not deterred. He made up in his mind that she would be with him tonight and was determined to make it happen. Grabbing her by her shoulders, Jamarkius knocked her off balance and pulled her into him. He then attempted to cover her body with his, and she resisted forcibly. Her resistance angered Jamarkius and he struck her, knocking her to the floor. Standing over her prone body, he demanded, "Who you saving it for teacher boy? You've been giving it to him. I told you to stop seeing that boy. You gave him MY pussy. Ok, Alright! When I finish with you today, Bruce won't want you anymore." Dianna was so frightened, that she never felt that first blow. But after he struck her the first time, she started fighting back. He proceeded with his assault as Dianna fought back as hard as she could fight and was screaming as loudly as she could for help. The neighbors heard her and called the police. One of her neighbors, Carlos rushed over and running to the side door of her house to find Jamarkius beating the young woman mercilessly. He knocked him off of her and Jamarkius ran. Carlos screamed for his wife Christiana, and chased after Jamarkius where some of the other men on the block had caught him and restrained him until the police arrived. Christiana stayed with Dianna until she was transported to the hospital where she was checked for injuries and treated for many contusions. She wanted to go with her, but she had small children at home and could not leave them unattended. Carlos had left to go to the police department to give an official statement about the assault. With no immediate family in town, when she was released from the hospital a few hours later, she called the only people she could think to call to pick her up: Mr. George and Mrs. Sanchez. Mr. George took one look at her swallowed the howled that wanted to escape his throat. In all the years of his life, he never wanted to hurt someone as badly as he wanted to castrate the man that hurt Dianna. Mrs. Sanchez was furious. She was glad the culprit was in jail, but seeing Dianna hurt like that reminded her of when Ricardo would beat her. Once they got Dianna back to her house, they called Tasha. Tasha was at work and Dianna didn't want to bother her on her job. Tasha rushed home immediately to find the mess that was made during the assault on Dianna. "Di, why didn't you call me? If he had really hurt you, I don't know..." she was sobbing uncontrollably at this point. "Dianna, how did he in? He had no business here. He could have..." She could not continue. The thought of her friend being hurt and seeing her amount of damage done to her unnerved the young woman causing her to break down. Dianna takes care of everybody else, she thought, Why wasn't someone here to take care of her? I should have said something to Carlos across the street before tonight. This is my fault. Dianna knew that Tasha would try to find a way to blame herself. "Tasha, stop trying to blame yourself. This was Jamarkius' fault, not mine or yours. Neither one of us is to blame." Tasha leaned over to embrace her friend. "I am so sorry, Dianna. I hope he goes to jail for a long time." Tasha sobbed softly into her friend's shoulder. At this point Mr. George and Mrs. Sanchez had come back into the room with something for Dianna to eat and her medication for pain. They called Mr. and Mrs. Lucas and informed them of the attack, but told them that Dianna was fine. Mrs. Sanchez stayed with the two girls that night. Mr. George had to return to his living facility. Saturday morning, Bryce called Dianna and got her voice mail. He called her home phone and did not get an answer. He got a bad feeling. The Lucas family came over and sat with her on Saturday. No one would let Dianna lift a finger. It was like a mini family reunion. Even though they all had to move to different places, they made sure they stayed in touch and took care of each other. Mr. George accompanied her to the police station that morning to press charges against Jamarkius. With the pictures that were taken at the hospital, her account, and the account of the neighbor that interceded. Jamarkius was going away for a long time. Monday morning, Tasha called the school. She explained to Mrs. Jones, the principal, that Dianna had gotten hurt and would not be able to come to work for a the rest of the week. As the teacher's arrived, Summer was headed to Dianna's room to ask about her weekend when the substitute teacher arrived at her door classroom. "Excuse me, is the Ms. Bouvier's class. I'm subbing for her this week." The substitute asked and explained. Taken aback, Summer answered, "Oh yes. This is her room. I didn't know she was out for the week." Summer spoke with the substitute for a few more minutes, next she walked over to Mrs. Towers' classroom. Summer and Mrs. Towers when Summer told her there was sub in for Dianna. That's strange, I wonder if Bryce knows that Dianna is out this week> Mrs. Towers thought as Summer was talking. Bryce was wondering why he was having such a hard time reaching Dianna. He decided that it was the weekend, maybe she was out. He called her back later that night. She answered, but sounded strange. He figured, maybe, she was just tired and sleepy. Bryce didn't get a chance to call on Sunday because of poor reception on his phone and Monday, he finalized his presence at the workshops so he could head out early Tuesday morning. He had not spoken to Dianna in a couple of days and he was now worried, because she would normally have called him back. By the time he made it home Tuesday afternoon, he was wiped. He decided he'd take a nap and driver over to Dianna's after he'd rested, but he ended up sleeping the entire night. The next morning Bryce arrived at school early, hoping to at least get to speak to Dianna. Soon it was time for students to arrive and classes began. Bryce slyly looked for Dianna all morning. When he saw that a substitute teacher had her class, he wondered what was going on. He decided the ask Mrs. Nance, the school secretary, if she knew why Dianna was out. He approached Mrs. Nance with his biggest most flirtatious smile. He knew she was immune to his charms, but liked messing with her anyway. After talking with Mrs. Nance for most of his lunch time, he found out that Dianna was hurt in some way and under doctor's order to take a the week off. He smiled and gently ended his conversation with Mrs. Nance. The hour after lunch flew by as usual. As soon as Bryce had his next class in his room and settled, he stepped out for a minute and called Dianna. Her phone rang twice, then a man answered. "Hello, can I speak with Dianna, please?" Bryce asked politely, but he was wondering who this man that answered her phone was. "I'm sorry" the voice said, "she just went to sleep." He answered. "May I ask whose calling so she can call you back? "This is Bryce Yearly. We work toge-"Mr. George cut him off. "The young man that joined us for Christmas. It is nice to talk to you son. I just gave Dianna her pain medication and she's knocked out. I will make sure she calls you when she wakes up" "Mr. George, is that you? Can you tell me what's wrong with her? I talked to her Friday and haven't spoken to her since. "What happened?" Bryce asked. Mr. George hesitated. Dianna valued her privacy above everything. Even though he knew these two young people were involved, but he wasn't sure how much to tell Bryce. "Bryce, Dianna is a very private person. I don't feel comfortable discussing her business with anyone. I'll tell her you called and she'll call you back. OK, son?" concluded Mr. George. "I understand, thank you, Mr. George. Please tell her I called." Bryce responded and hung up. When his conference time came, Bryce requested permission to leave for personal business during his class library time at the end of the day, Bryce drove up to Dianna's house and rang her doorbell around that evening. He figured maybe she broke a bone or something simple. He hoped it wasn't something serious. He did not expect it to be what he saw when he knocked and a Mrs. Sanchez opened the door. "Who is it, Mrs. Sanchez?" he heard Dianna call from the back of the apartment. Before he could answer she walked into view. Stunned, Bryce was stunned. He expected her to have a cold, maybe a stomach ailment, but not this. For a second he recalled how he felt as a young boy when Joseph mistreated his mother. The anger and fury he felt now surpassed that anger. He wanted to rip someone apart. Anger, fury, unadulterated rage consumed him when he saw the damage that had been done to her face. Before Mrs. Sanchez could utter a word he stepped past her and rushed over to where Dianna stood. He just looked. He could not touch her. His body shook. He could see the hand prints around her neck, the marks on her face. The thought of someone hurting her and he wasn't there to keep her safe almost brought him to his knees. Dianna looked into his eyes and she could see the rage that was building in them. He was beyond angry and her next words could make him lose control. "Baby," she said soothingly, "I'm OK." He didn't hear her at first. He was consumed with his own anger. "Who did this?" He asked quietly shaking with fury. "Where is he?" "Bryce, what are you doing here?" Dianna asked embarrassed. She didn't want anyone to see her bruises. She dropped her head and tried to turn away, but Bryce stopped her. Gently he tilted her face to look into her eyes. "Dianna" he whispered. Both people forgot that Mrs. Sanchez was in the room, so she quietly left. "Bryce, really I'm fine. Jamarkius is in jail and I pressed charges" she explained. "There is really nothing to concern you-" "Jamarkius, the guy you were with at the club. He did this to you?" Bryce was raised by his mother and grandmother. It was ingrained in him to never touch a woman in anger. But for the first time in his twenty-nine years he wanted to do bodily harm to someone. But right now, there was nothing he could do, just hold on to his woman. The one woman he was willing to die for. But the moment he was away she'd been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend and he wasn't there to protect her. Bryce swallowed his rage because he didn't want to upset her and focused on what Dianna needed. "Wait, how are you here? Shouldn't you be at school?" Dianna asked. Bryce gently stroked her cheek. He looked into her eye. Dianna began to quiver as her emotions began to overwhelm her. Bryce sat on the sofa in her living room, and pulled her into his lap and held her close, just for a moment. She laid her head on his shoulder and sought comfort in his strong embrace. Silently tears rolled down her cheeks as she reveled in the feeling of security, unlike what she felt that night not so long ago. Bryce wiped away her tears with his fingers and kissed her brow. At that moment, they weren't teachers in a school, but a man and a woman that needed each other. She was a woman that needed to feel secure and he was a man that needed to reassure his woman. "Baby, listen to me. I have to go back to work, but I'll be back as soon as the day ends alright, then we can talk." He kissed her lips gently and held her tightly for a moment. "Ok, I'll see you later. You'll come as soon as school is out, right?" Dianna asked, hating that she felt so needy. "Yes, I promise." Bryce replied kissing her once more, then he bid farewell to Mrs. Sanchez as he headed back to work. Bryce returned to work visibly upset. Mrs. Jones asked about Dianna and if she was alright. He told her that she was fine, and went back to his classroom. At the end of the day Mrs. Towers stopped by his room, and he told her that his visit with Dianna was fine. Mrs. Towers didn't buy it. She could sense he was angry just below the surface. She had worked with Bryce the past four years and she knew he wasn't telling her everything. It didn't feel right to her, but she also knew Dianna was a very private person. "Bryce, I know you're not telling me everything." Mrs. Towers stated. "I can only hope that whatever it is it's not something too serious. Ask Dianna to call me when she gets a chance alright." Bryce nodded and she left to go home for the day. As soon as the school day ended, Bryce rushed back to Dianna's house. He knocked on the door, Dianna looked out and saw it was him, and hurried as she opened the door. "Hey, you made it. Come in." She invited. "I had to see you, and I need you to tell me what happened." Bryce explained. "Bryce, I'm fine and Jamarkius is in jail. You really don't need to be concerned," Dianna explained. Bryce looked at the damage that was done to her face. He moved in closer lifting her face to examine. He noticed each and every mark that marred her beautiful skin. "Look, Bryce, we agreed that", Dianna started to say. Bryce silenced her by placing his fingers over her lip. "Stop, at school we can be as professional as you like. But not now, not after this." "Bryce-" Dianna started to say. "Ssssshhhhhh, let me look." He then proceeded to examine her closely. Leading her to her sofa, he had her to sit down next to him. "I think about you all the time. Even after the day at the courthouse, I haven't been able to stop thinking about you. I know you say you don't want me, but I think you do. You went out with that guy because of me and now you are hurt." He continued saying. "Bryce Yearly, the world does not revolve around you." Dianna retorted. "What happened here Friday night had nothing to do with you." "I saw the way he looked at you, the way he touched you." Sighing and looking away, Bryce continued. "I didn't like it then, and knowing he did this..." Dianna tried to speak at this point, "Bryce, you are not responsi-" He gently held her close and guided her into a mind numbing kiss covering her lips with his. Dianna melted. His lips were so soft that for that moment she lost herself in the feel of him. She unwittingly wrapped her arms around his neck and molded her body into his. Bryce groaned, adjusting his body, he gently stretched out and pulled her into his tight embrace and he continued to devour her lips. Dianna relished the kisses she shared with him. But she needed to think for a minute, so she gently pulled away. It took a minute for Bryce's brain to register that Dianna wanted to stop. He gently pulled back. Looking deep into her eyes, Bryce took a deep breath. Dianna stared back at him. "Bryce" Dianna started. "Dianna" Bryce stated, simultaneously. Both laughed. "We need to talk. I want to take this relationship to the next level. I mean be exclusive. I want to let others know we are together. We can keep things professional at school, but I want people to know we are together, Dianna Bouvier. Give me one good reason we shouldn't give it a shot, and I will respect your wished and not pressure you again." Bryce concluded. "Bryce," Dianna whispered his name as she tiptoes and covered his lips with hers. She could no longer deny how she felt. He held her close and luxuriated in the feel of her in his arms. Bryce kissed every mark on her cheek, forehead and neck. Dianna moaned against him. Leading her to the sofa, he sat down and guided her body on top of him. Dianna was on fire for him. She never wanted any man as badly as she wanted him. Bryce sat on the sofa and pulled her into his lap. Straddling his lap Dianna ground her pussy against his hard cock. Both groaned. Bryce called a halt to their amorous activities. "Baby, wait." Bryce groaned into her neck. "I want you so much that I am about to burst, but we need to wait. You're hurt and I don't want to cause you any extra pain. Let's take it slow and then we'll see where it leads." Dianna looked unsure and scared. "You don't want me. Is it because of my face? The bruises will heal in ti-." Bryce immediately wanted to reassure her. "Baby you mean everything to me, but you're hurt and I am not going to do anything that will cause you any extra pain. As for the bruises, if I ever get a chance, Jimerkus, Jamarkius whatever his name is, will have a well whooped ass. Dianna, I love you. Let's take our time because I think we need to slow down just a little." Then he kissed her passionately. Bryce and Dianna talked well into the night until Bryce announced he needed to leave. However, he didn't leave right away. He stayed and held her in his arms until Dianna was dozing off and told him to go home. He had to work the next day so he gently kissed her good night and headed home. Dianna reminded him that she'd be back at work next Monday after visiting her doctor Friday as a precautionary follow up. "I'll call tomorrow, OK. Oh, and call Mrs. Towers, she's worried about you." Bryce told her as he embraced her before he left. Dianna stood in her door and watched him drive away. Dianna made a mental note to call Mrs. Towers over the next few days, but started watching talk shows on television and forgot. Wow, thank you guys for sticking with me. Dianna could only imagine the questions she'd have to face upon her return. Dianna got up early to get dress. When she walked into her dining room, she saw that her roommate LaTasha had made breakfast for her. Latasha was so proud of her friend and wanted to do anything she could to show her how proud she was and how much she appreciated her. "Tasha, thank you." Dianna said as she embraced the young woman and thanked her for breakfast. "Sit, join me." Both women ate a hearty meal before facing another long day at work. Dianna carefully applied makeup to hide the few bruises she had left, hoping that no one would look too closely at her face. She knew that Bryce hadn't told anyone what really happened and she truly appreciated him for it. Even with carefully placed makeup, she could not hide the truth from the very watchful eye of Mrs. Towers. "Dianna, I need to speak with you." Mrs. Towers addressed her in the lounge that morning. They exited the lounge and went to Mrs. Tower's classroom. "Good Lord, Dianna, who did this to you? Don't you dare tell me, it was an accident, or you fell? I know abuse when I see it." Mrs. Towers was clearly distraught. In an effort to help alleviate her concern, Dianna explained the events involving her ex-boyfriend and his subsequent arrest. "You should have called me. I know you want your privacy and I can respect that young lady. But there are other people that worry about you. You call me from now on, understand." She then gathered Dianna in a tight motherly embrace. Summer walked in and saw Mrs. Towers wiping away her tears. She looked at Dianna and knew something awful had happened. However, both women greeted her warmly. "Ok, what's wrong?" Summer demanded. She knew it had something to do with the days Dianna was out last week. "Dianna, did something happen to someone in your family? Did you get hurt? What's going on?" Summer asked as she clearly began to become distressed. Dianna and Mrs. Towers wanted to calm her down before she got to upset. "Summer, no one is hurt and I am fine. I just had some type of episode and needed some time. I'm fine alright." Dianna assured her. Summer was relieved, although she knew they weren't telling her everything. Dianna was alright and that was all that mattered. After they chatted, each of the ladies went on to their classrooms to start their day. Bryce found out from Summer that something had transpired between Dianna and Mrs. Towers. He was sure it was alright, but wanted to make sure Dianna was fine. He stopped by Dianna room during their conference time, walked in, lowered the blinds, then closed and locked her door. He needed to hold her for a minute just to make sure she was really alright. "Bryce," she whispered, 'We're at school. What if someone sees..." "Just give me this moment; let me hold you, Dianna. We can go back to being teachers in a minute, right now let me be your man." Bryce whispered. Dianna pressed her face into his chest and inhaled his scent. His essence comforted her; then, she lay her head on his chest reveling in the feel of him. Soon there was a light knock at her door. They separated and opened it to find Mrs. Towers standing on the other side. "Well," she asked, "How long?" Dianna blushed and Bryce looked her in the eye, "Since December, we're not breaking-" Mrs. Tower's laughed, "Boy, if you don't stop. Just be careful, especially here at school alright." Then she gave each person a quick hug before she left them alone. The rest of the week went by with the usual disruptions that always occur. Finally it was Friday. Summer was giving her roommate, Chad, a surprise birthday party. She invited all of her friends from work. The other three teachers agreed to come and Mrs. Towers told her she would bring her husband. He could help with the food. Summer asked Bryce to invite Brian to her party. She really liked Brian. She had a crush on Bryce, but once saw that Dianna liked him, she dropped those thoughts quickly. Surprisingly, Bryce and Dianna had a great time at the party. As much fun as he was having with his friends and coworkers, Bryce wanted to get his woman alone. It had been more than twenty four hours since he drank form her nectar. To him that was twenty-three hours and fifty-nine minutes too long. Pulling her into the hall, he stole a few minutes with her. "Baby," Bryce whispered in her ear. "I will be at your house to pick you up in the morning. Pack light. I want you to stay over, Ok." "Um, baby. The family might be visiting. But we can go out that evening." Dianna explained. "I'm still coming over", then he stole a quick kiss. True to his word, Bryce was at Dianna's house early Saturday morning. He wanted to spend as much time with her as he could. Normally Dianna did not do anything on Saturday, except maybe yard work and house work. If Tasha was not working, they'd catch a movie if they didn't have dates. This weekend was different. She had a guest, several guest actually. When Bryce came over, Tasha called the rest of the family. By noon, Tasha's small house was filled to the brim. Mrs. Lucas and Mrs. Sanchez brought some covered dishes. Mr. George picked up sodas. Mr. Lucas brought his grill from storage and picked up some chicken for the barbecue. Even her neighbors came over to check out Dianna's boyfriend. Bryce was happy to meet everyone and become reacquainted with the people who rented from his father. He especially wanted to thank Carlos for protecting Dianna from Jamarkius. A simple get together for a day turned into a mini block party. Everyone in the neighborhood brought a dish and gathered for a party. Bryce was interrogated by the main men in Dianna's life, Mr. George and Mr. Lucas. He gladly talked with them and addressed their concerns. Genevieve arrived with Bryce's mom, Catherine. The two women kept in touch after meeting over the holidays and became fast friends. Besides, Genevieve was worried about Dianna. She couldn't get to her right after she was attacked and she wanted to make sure her daughter was fine. At the cookout, everyone was eating, drinking sodas, and having fun. Genevieve took an opportunity to speak with Dianna alone. "Di, are you all right? When you called and told me about that boy, girl..." Genevieve had to take a moment and compose herself. "Is he in jail? Did you press charges? What did Bryce say about this?" "Momma, I'm OK. Jamarkius, pleaded guilty, besides with all of the other charges against him, he's going away for a long time." Dianna reassured her mother. Genevieve started to cry. Dianna's heart was broken and she was afraid. She'd never seen her mother cry. In twenty-six years of her short life, her mother was strong, invincible, and stoic. "Momma, I am fine. Please don't cry. I'm alright." Dianna held her mother as she tried to comfort her. Catherine walked in and asked was everything alright. She was followed by Bryce who stood for a moment and took in the scene. "Young man, you seem serious about her. Keep her safe and make her happy alright." Genevieve said as she smiled at Bryce. Bryce assured her that he had only the most honorable intentions toward her daughter. Catherine laughed, "You'd better, boy. She said or I'm pulling out the hickory stick. Bryce remembered Old Hickory and shuddered. Everyone laughed. Soon after, they all went back to the party. The evening progressed and came to an end. Tasha had to go to work and everyone else went home. Both Genevieve and Catherine demanded that Dianna call them to check in. After everyone had left, Bryce and Dianna finally spent a few hours alone. "So," asked Bryce, "As your man I get to kiss you whenever I want and I want to kiss you now. I think Mr. George and Mr. Lucas approve of me. Mrs. Lucas and Mrs. Sanchez kept feeding me. Hell, even Tasha seemed to give me her stamp of approval, but I want to know, where do I stand with you? Are you happy with me, Baby? Are you proud to call me your man?" "Bryce, you mean so much to me." Dianna explained. "I never thought I'd meet a man that made me feel so alive. I am amazed every time I see you and I pray you don't change your mind about me. I am so happy to be your girlfriend. I am proud to be your woman. I love you, Bryce." wrapping her arms around his neck. "Girl, my Momma loves you. She said if I mess this up, she's pulling out Old Hickory for real. Your Mom seems to like me too." They both chuckled. Bryce continued. "Baby I am so happy and proud to be your man." Bryce answered, his heart pounding in his chest because she'd just chosen him exclusively as he held her close to his heart. Bryce and Dianna were now dating, although they kept their relationship private for several months. At school they kept their relationship completely professional, however, at the end of the day they spent all of their time together. Before long it was the end of the school year. With summer fast approaching, the students were even more rambunctious and parents were even more concerned with whether or not their children would promote or retain. Dianna was having trouble with one parent that questioned every grade her child received. Summer was dealing with complaints from the same parent. Dianna and Summer documented and kept record on all of their students to help alleviate parental concerns. This was the same parent that threatened Mrs. Thyme at the beginning of the school year. Mrs. Jeanette Lacey, was a bully and didn't care who she harassed because she wanted her kids to pass. Mrs. Lacey found out that Bryce and Dianna were dating. After seeing them on a date when they went to the movies, Jeanette then began to grill her daughter, until the girl told her mother what she wanted to hear. She went before the school board requesting that Ms. Bouvier and Mr. Yearly be dismissed from their positions immediately. Her complaint alleged that although there was no rule saying teachers could not date, there were clear guidelines on professional behavior. Her child informed her that she had caught Mr. Yearly and Ms. Bouvier in compromising positions in their classrooms on several occasions. Other people have reported to her that their PDA- public displays of affection- was legendary. This type of behavior was inappropriate at a school and should definitely not be engaged in front of students. Mrs. Lacey stated that Ms. Bouvier was so engrossed in her relationship with Mr. Yearly that she was unable to do her job properly. Her daughter was a straight A student and in Ms. Bouvier's class she was barely maintaining a C average. This parent took her cause so far as to drum up support from other parents of children at the school. Bryce and Dianna were called to Mrs. Jones office as soon as the allegations of impropriety were made public. Bryce was infuriated, because he felt that he and Dianna had done nothing wrong. The afternoon Bryce and Dianna reported to the office to be officially notified of the accusations against them. They were greeted by the principal, Mrs. Jones, the superintendent, Dr. Merritt, and parent advocate from the school board, Mrs. Althea Petty. "Mr. Yearly and Ms. Bouvier" started Mrs. Jones. "First, I want to thank you for all of the hard work you do with our students every day. However, today we are here on a personal matter." Superintendant Merritt spoke up at this point. "Accusations have been brought before the school board that the two of you are engaging in inappropriate activities on school grounds. I certainly hope this is not true or I will have to move for your immediate dismissal from this district." Dianna's heart accelerated. But Bryce had heard enough and was upset. "Dr. Merritt, Mrs. Jones, and Ms. Petty, I stand here to inform you that Ms. Bouvier and I have not broken any laws. We are consenting adults who have taken great pains to keep our professional and private lives separate. We have not engaged in any inappropriate actions at or near this school. The time we spend together on the weekends and after work is our business." Taking a deep breath, Bryce continued, "I know Jeanette Lacey. I've had to fight off one accusation after another over the years. For the past three years, Mrs. Lacey has always filed one complaint after another when her children don't receive the grades she wants them to have." "I don't care about your accusations, Mr. Yearly. I am concerned about teachers who engage in acts that our children should not be exposed to." Mrs. Petty added as she looked at Dianna, "That is one of the reasons I was opposed to bringing in nontraditional teachers into the district. People like Ms. Bouvier, really have no understanding of how impressionable our children are, and she has-." Mrs. Jones had heard enough. "Mrs. Petty, I will not stand here and have you question someone's competency to teach at this school. You can keep your thoughts and opinions to yourself; we certainly don't want to her them. Ms. Bouvier is one of the best teacher's in this district, so you really need to think about what you just said. " "Mrs. Petty," Bryce glared at Althea, "This is your one and only warning, attack Ms. Bouvier again and I promise you will regret it. She is one of the best teachers in this school and does not deserve malice from you and I will not sit here and tolerate it." "Suffice it to say, she is not a trained teacher and may not understand child development enough to work around kids in a school setting, I am surprised by you Mr. Yearly, up until Ms. Bouvier arrived you have been a consummate professional." Althea stated testily. Dianna listened to these people talk about her and Bryce. For a second, she was terrified, her heart pounded, next then she became angry. She then placed her hand on Bryce's arm, an action that was noticed by Mrs. Jones the principal. Bryce immediately calmed down. Glaring at Ms. Petty, Dianna decided to speak. "Ms. Petty, let me inform you of my credentials. True, I was not an education major, but I have experience working with kids, especially troubled kids. My experiences at the detention center have more than prepared me for any challenge I might face hear at Armstrong." "You want to ascertain that Mrs. Lacey has valid concerns. Let's look at her record. All of the teachers on this team have requested conferences with her concerning her child's academics and behavioral concerns and she has failed to show up for any of the meetings. She ignores our phone calls and will not even respond to written correspondence that is sent to her. The only time we have seen her is when we are being accused of foul play." Taking a deep breath Dianna continued. "I have read the code of conduct set forth by the state and this district, and I have not seen anything that states Mr. Yearly and I cannot date. We do not engage in any improper behavior on school grounds and have taken great pains to make sure we keep our private relationship exactly that private." Dianna then took a moment to look each adult in the eye, "I am an educator and I have rights as well. If you all pursuit this witch hunt you will be hearing from my lawyer. So until you can present us with definitive proof that we are guilty of these ridiculous charges, we will continue to keep our relationship private." Mrs. Jones smiled. She knew this young woman had spunk and it was about time someone put Althea Petty in her place. She shared a look with Dr. Merritt. He was impressed as well. Finally Dr. Merritt decided to bring this meeting to a close. "Ms. Petty, when these accusations first came across my desk, I looked carefully into the relationship between these two individuals. There are actually faculty members who I have asked about the nature of their relationship. No one here even knew they were dating. The one's that are aware, Ms. Petty, swear that at school these two a consummate professionals. Like Ms. Bouvier said, Mrs. Lacey is a bully. I have personally pulled all four of her kids' permanent records. Her kids are average students. They are constantly being referred for tier monitoring for behavior and unless an official request is made by the principal, she never comes to check on her children. She is only seen at the end of the year when she's trying to bully teachers into passing her children. " Mrs. Jones then joined in the discussion, "Mrs. Petty, if you and Mrs. Lacey want to continue with these accusations, we will go before the school board Thursday. I want to let you know that I and my entire staff will stand behind Mr. Yearly and Ms. Bouvier. I suggest you talk to your client and find another solution to her problem. Now ladies and gentleman, as far as I am concerned this meeting is over. I have some work I need to finish, so have a nice evening. If this mess continues, I will see you all at the next school board meeting on this issue. You all know they way out. Have a good evening." All of the participants in the meeting quickly exited her office. Dianna and Bryce exited the building together and for the first time, Bryce told Dianna, that he would drive her home. When they got into his car, Dianna started to shake and Bryce realized that these accusations had more of an effect on her than she let on. He didn't drive her to her house, but simply drove to his. He lived closer to the school and he wanted to get her out of his car as soon as possible. Bryce pulled his car into his garage and escorted Dianna into his foyer. He led her into the den where she sat on his futon; Bryce went to fix her a glass of red wine to help her relax. When he walked back the room, Dianna was curled up on the futon crying softly. Bryce sat the drink down and pulled her into his lap and held her. He held her until she was all cried out. He hated Althea Petty in that moment. Her constant hounding and false accusations ruined the careers of many teachers at Armstrong; he would not let her destroy Dianna. "Baby, listen to me." Bryce whispered. "Dianna, don't worry about Jeanette Lacey. She does this every year. It will be fine." "Do you think I care about my career, Bryce?" Dianna asked. "You have taught for years and she can just accuse you of..." Sniffling Dianna continued. "She can ruin your career. I am not really a teacher. I just needed a job and this one was available, but this is your career." "I need to resign, because I can't cause you to lose your career over something like this." she finished. Bryce stood and caught her hand. Lifting her hands to his lips he looked into her eyes. "Dianna, you are everything to me. I will not give you up, certainly not for Jeanette Lacey. Baby, I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." hugging her tightly. "I promise we will get through this." Dianna held onto him tightly. It was in the meeting when he adamantly defended her that she knew she loved him. She could not be the reason his career ended, but he assured her that he'd chose her regardless of the outcome. Dianna Ch. 03 The school board meeting was scheduled for Thursday evening. Although Althea tried as hard as she could to get Jeanette to drop her claim, Jeanette wanted her moment before the board. Every member of Armstrong faculty attended this meeting ready to defend their coworkers. Many parents and students also attended the meeting with the same thoughts in mind. After discussing old business, the floor was open to bring up any new business. Jeanette Lacey stood immediately to lodge her complaint against Mr. Yearly and Ms. Bouvier. The room was silent as she stated her allegations and produced her petition. Then Dr. Merritt stood, along with Mrs. Jones. They explained the results of their investigation and found that no improper events had ever occurred on school grounds. Mrs. Lacey looked at Althea; she knew she had her convinced of impropriety. Althea didn't move. Jeanette knew she'd lost again. The next thing that happened was a shock for Bryce and Dianna. Parents, community leaders, and even students stood to speak on their behalf. Coworkers stood, many who admitted that they did not know they were even dating. The board sat quietly and listened. Finally everyone was quiet. The Board President spoke and asked, if anyone else had anything to say. That is when Mr. George, Mr. and Mrs. Lucas, Mrs. Sanchez and Latasha stood and walked up to the podium. Seeing her family there, Dianna felt honored and a sense of pride enveloped her. She knew that no matter what, she'd be fine. They'd be fine. Mr. George stepped forward and the others surrounded him. Mr. George spoke in a low strong voice. "I have seen evil in my lifetime. But this trial today, and I do mean trial, is truly evil. You cannot say these two people are not teaching the children in this school. You cannot say that the kids they teach are not learning. You have parents, children and other people here that can attest to the fact that these two teachers work hard." He paused for a moment and looked into the eyes of each school board member. Then he continued. "You will let one hateful woman who is not teaching her kids what's right from wrong to mistreat and abuse the teachers in this district and that is wrong. Bryce Yearly is an honorable man. Dianna Bouvier is a wonderful, compassionate, and dedicated young woman. If you dismiss these two on the ranting of some mad woman, you have just condemned the children in this district to failure." Mr. George inhaled deeply, then he concluded what he had to say. "Thank you for listening, and ladies and gentlemen you have a good night." Then he walked away from the podium and returned to his seat. The board closed the floor and wanted to vote on the issue presented before them. They informed everyone in attendance that they would vote in private and inform them of the decision that was made in an emergency board meeting that would be scheduled for the next day. Everyone left and many people made sure they stopped at Bryce and Dianna to give them words of encouragement. Bryce walked over to Dianna and gently held her. She started to pull away, but he would not let her go. As a couple they were not overly affectionate in public, but everyone seemed to be happy to see them together. Bryce knew Dianna was worried and he wanted to reassure her. He was also tired of hiding. He loved this woman, and he wanted everyone to know. Dianna knew that Mr. George had to be back at this facility by a certain time, so she asked Mr. and Mrs. Towers to please give him a ride back. Mr. and Mrs. Lucas agreed to give Tasha a ride home. They all seemed to realize that the only person she needed was the man holding her securely in his arms. They left and went to Bryce's house. Bryce held Dianna close. He felt her heart pounding in her chest. He knew she was afraid. They'd talked about how she was railroaded at her last job, and her fear of being dismissed on fabricated details from this one. Bryce knew one thing about teaching. They would always be able to find work. Try as he might, Bryce could not relive her of all of her fears. So he just held her for a while. Feeling safe and secures, even though they were in a hellish limbo, Dianna fell asleep in his arms. Bryce watched her as she slept, and he vowed no one would ever hurt her again. Then he gently kissed her temple and drifted off to sleep himself. Friday morning came, and Bryce arose early enough to drive Dianna to her house so she could dress for work. Dianna invited him to wait for her to dress. Tasha was up so she made coffee for them as he waited. Tasha was worried for her friend, but she could see that Bryce had her best interest at heart, therefore she knew Dianna would be fine. They talked while Dianna showered and dressed. As she was leaving, Tasha gave both of them a big hug and assured them that everything would work out. On their way to work, they stopped at Hardee's for breakfast. Bryce ordered for them as Dianna chose the table they would sit at. Sitting across from Dianna, Bryce grasped her right hand in this left. He wanted to reassure her that they would be alright. Even though they'd talked the night before and he held her close, he still felt some tenseness from her. When they finished their meal, they headed to the school. They were met by the principal as soon as they entered the office. "Good morning Mr. Yearly and Ms. Bouvier, I need to see you in my office as soon as you sign in this morning." greeted Mrs. Jones. "Hey, don't worry. We will get through this. We haven't done anything wrong." Bryce reassured Dianna wishing she would let him hold her close, but knowing she would refuse. Together they walked into the principal's office. As soon as they entered and shut the door, a big smile spread across Principal Jones' face. "It's over. The board voted after we left. They voted unanimously to throw out the allegations against you and removed any petitions filed against your post here at Armstrong." Dianna was stunned and speechless. She could not believe this ordeal was over. Mrs. Jones continued. "You can't say anything until the board makes the announcement, but I felt you needed to know. Congratulations." She then gave both teachers a brief hug. "Mrs. Jones, I don't know how to-"Dianna started before her emotions took over. Bryce interceded, "Mrs. Jones, this new is a great relief, thank you, for letting us know." as he slowly gathered Dianna in a light embrace. Dianna realizing they were at school, simply stepped out of the embrace even though, she really needed it at the time. Mrs. Jones chuckled, "Girl, let that man take care of you. No one in this room saw a thing." Dianna breathed a sigh of relief visibly relaxed. Bryce took a moment and held her close. Dianna wrapped her arms around his waist for moment. "Mr. Yearly, I need to speak with Ms. Bouvier privately. You may be excused." Bryce stood then he thought for a moment. "Mrs. Jones, if there is another-" Mrs. Jones stopped him. "I need to speak with her about a private matter. She's not in trouble. Please go on to your classroom she will be there shortly." She added smiling admiring how protective he was of this young woman. Bryce turned to Dianna to reassure her he'd be waiting then he left the office. Dianna turned to face her principal. "Mrs. Bouvier, yesterday, you told Mrs. Petty that you have extensive experience with troubled youth. I took a moment to review your work history and found that you've worked at Hanlon Detention Center previously. A friend of mine has been promoted to the position of Dean over that facility and I talked to him about you last night. He was actually impressed. He stated that it was actions that you took that highlighted some illegal occurrences that were taking place at the facility. He also stated that legally, you were not supposed to be dismissed from your supervisory position. He actually would like for you to call him about the position that your predecessor held." Dianna felt vindicated. She was happy that now, someone knew her firing from that job was unfair and unprovoked on her part. She went to speak, but before she could say a word Mrs. Jones stopped her. "The truth is Ms. Bouvier, if you wanted to leave right now I could not stop you. I would even understand, but I want to ask you to consider keeping your position at Armstrong next year." Mrs. Jones pleaded. "Well, Mrs. Jones, first thank you for giving me this information. I'm happy to know that my actions helped those kids at the detention center. As you know, I actually plan to attend Law school in the near future and that means I would have to leave either position that I choose to take." Looking sheepishly at her employer, Dianna took a deep breath, "I am in the pilot program for teachers, so either way I have two more years to teach. Besides I like it here at Armstrong. Therefore, if a position is available here at Armstrong for me, then yes I will be back. I also will call the Dean at the detention center to see if I can at least fill in part time so that I can have their credentials for my law school application." she declared much to Mrs. Jones' relief. Smiling, Dianna looked at Mrs. Jones and said, "You gave me a chance when no one else would. This place has been a safe haven for me and I've come to care about everyone that works here. Thank you Mrs. Jones, for giving me a chance." Mrs. Jones dabbed her eyes with a tissue. "No, Dianna, thank you. Now I know Bryce is worried sick. I've kept you long enough. Go check on your future husband." Laughing Dianna stood and exited the office. She walked to her classroom and saw Bryce waiting by her door. As she approached he quickly guided her into her room "Hey, is everything alright?" Bryce asked concern creasing his brow. Gently caressing his cheek, Dianna told him, "Hey everything is fine. We can talk about it later." Realizing they were in a classroom, Bryce regained his composure and smiled at her. Dianna felt her insides melt as she looked at him. A noise from the door broke their trance. The young couple looked up to see Mrs. Towers and Ms. Summer standing in Dianna's door grinning. "Well you two, it's about time." Teased Mrs. Towers as the four teachers greeted each other before beginning their day. The day ended and the school board reconvened to reveal their findings. Bryce and Dianna were cleared of all of the allegations against them. Mrs. Lacey received a verbal reprimand from the school board president for wasting everyone's time and a few other issues were resolved. At the end of the meeting all of the people in attendance, went to their cars and went home. Bryce and Dianna did not even bother to attend the meeting, because they were already told of the outcome. The school year ended in late May. Bryce and Dianna were able to spend more time together at Bryce's house. The couple spent so much time at his house that they actually started talking about moving in together. Dianna's main concern was Tasha, because she didn't want to leave her in a bind. However, Tasha had the foresight to see this coming and actually put out feelers for a couple of roommates. So, in the end, Dianna allowed Tasha to stay in her house along with her roommates as she collected a small rental fee mainly to satisfy the terms that she rent a decent home in the FDC guidelines. The money Dianna collected was deposited into a household account for the maintenance of the home. One evening after she'd moved in with him, they were spending a quiet day at home when Bryce surprised her. Bryce stared at this amazing woman that he wanted to claim for all eternity. She was beautiful. Milk chocolate skin covered her voluptuous frame. Her bountiful breast bounced freely as she moved round their home wearing a miniscule tank top. She wore a pair of shorts that cupped her ample bottom and hugged her slim waist. He stared at her pie shaped face which held the most amazing brown eyes, eyes he could drown in. Today she wore her hair loose and not confined in a tight bun, it flowed freely around her face. Dianna was a real woman; she was a solid size twelve and had no issues with her body. He loved that about her and he truly loved all of her curves. As a matter of fact, thinking about her curves was making a part of his anatomy stand in attention. He would definitely show his woman his appreciation of her form a little later. Smiling, he decided to go on and see how far this relationship could go. "Baby, I'm thirsty, will you bring me a beer? I put some in the fridge last night. Dianna, who was already up anyway went to get his drink for him. When she opened the refrigerator she did not see any beer, she saw a burgundy ring box. Dianna was again rendered speechless. Gently removing the box she opened it to find a single solitaire diamond engagement ring. She heard Bryce clear this throat behind her. "Um Umm!" he cleared his throat. Dianna turned and tears began to fall down her cheeks. Kneeling before her on knee, was the man she'd come to love completely. "Dianna, will you marry me?" Bryce asked nervously. "Yes, yes, and yes" she declared as he stood and she leaped joyfully in his arms. Dianna knew that although her Momma told her she could only trust herself; the man holding her was the one exception to that rule. Then they kissed passionately as he held her close. ************************************ "Little girl, I know you are not nervous. That young man is a good man. You two deserve to be happy." Genevieve took both of her daughter's hands and looked deep into her eyes. "Dianna, look at me. I taught you how to be tough, because at the time we had to be tough. This man loves you and you don't have to struggle anymore. Let him teach you how to love. Let him take care of you as you take care of him." They were at the church in the choir room where the bride was to dress before the ceremony. "Momma, I love him so much. What if..." Dianna started to say, her nerves were on a rampage today. She hadn't even put her gown on and yet she was shaking like a leaf. "What if I wake up every morning thanking God I found you? What if I can convince you to give me those eight kids I want? What if we get to spend the next fifty years taking care of each other?" Bryce walked into the room and held her tightly for a moment. "No what if's? I am the luckiest man on this planet to have you as my wife. I love you, Dianna, never doubt that." Then he kissed her and held her close for a moment. "Boy, get out of here. What are you doing back here? Let go of that girl and go get dressed." Genevieve chuckled as she ushered her future son out of the choir room. Catherine walked in and helped Genevieve run him out of the room. Dianna felt calmer now. She knew she could count on Bryce to be there. All of her family was here to share this day with her. Mr. George was walking her down the aisle. Mrs. Towers, Summer, and Mrs. Lucas were her bridesmaids. Tasha, the sister of her heart, was standing by her side as her Maid of Honor. Mrs. Sanchez and Mrs. Lucas volunteered to prepare the food for the reception, as Mr. Towers and Chad manned the grill. All of her friends from work were there to share in this moment with her. She looked out into the sanctuary and saw several of her students and their parents sitting in the audience. Some of the boys and girls from the school volunteered to serve as ushers. But Dianna wasn't really thinking about them. Her thoughts were on the incredible man waiting for her at the altar. The one man that was ready to pledge his life for her. The one man she never wanted to have to live without. Her man: Bryce Yearly. Epilogue: One Year Later Tasha had just gotten in from a date with a guy she met at school. He was a little geeky, but nice. She was excited. The call would come at any time now. As soon as she came in and dressed for bed, her phone trilled. It was Summer. "Get to the hospital, it's time." Squealing Tasha jumped up and woke her roommate Lisa. Lisa was the only one who had a car, so she didn't mind taking the other three girls when they had to go. All the girls got up piled into Lisa's car and headed to the hospital. When Tasha and her roommates arrived, they were ushered to the fourth floor of the hospital. They couldn't see Dianna, because she was busy at the moment. So they waited in the waiting room. Twenty minutes later emerging from a special suite, came an exhausted looking Bryce with a goofy smile on his face. "Everybody, we have a healthy baby boy. He weighs eight pounds six ounces. He's beautiful just like his mother. I'll let you in as soon as they clean them up." He then turned and rushed back into the room with his wife. Everyone in the waiting room was cheering, crying, and laughing. This was a happy moment for the family. Eventually, everyone had a chance to meet their new family member. Genevieve held her new grandson as tears formed in her eyes. Dianna saw her mother's tears and felt her heart swell, because her Mom was so happy. Catherine held the babe and declared he looked exactly like Bryce when he was a baby. Everyone laughed. Soon Dianna needed sleep and the baby had to go back to the nursery. Each person congratulated the couple and left. The next morning when Dianna awoke, Mr. George was sitting by her bed. He could not come last night, but Bryce made sure he called him and arranged for him to meet his namesake the next day. Bryce came into the room carrying the baby. He and Dianna placed George Jason Yearly in Mr. George's arms. The old man held the babe in his arms stared into his angelic face. Dianna was like a daughter to him. She spent her life looking out for others, now she was finally getting the happiness she deserved. She had a true family of her own. As he gazed upon his namesake, his heart welled with love and pride for the mother of this amazing little boy. He then bent and kissed Little George on the head. Silently, he thanked Joseph Yearly because if he hadn't been such a conniving, money hungry ogre; these two young people may not have met and had a chance at this shot of happiness they so rightly deserved.
