Enjoy* * Cass stared at herself in the full length mirror that covered half the wall in her luxurious bedroom. A soft smile played over her lips as she looked at herself. Cass' honey blonde hair was pulled up in a chignon, with a few tendrils left free to surround her face. Her blue eyes stood out like pools of water surrounded by her smoky eye make up, and her lips were pink and glossy. There was a faint blush on her cheeks that spread down to kiss the tops of her perky breasts that were spilling out of her tight black dress. The black dress was dangerously low cut, and melted into her every curve and ended mid-thigh. Her long silky legs seemed to go forever until they ended in black stilettos. Tonight is the night, she thought to herself as she grabbed her coat and purse as she left her bedroom and headed to her father's study. She quickly put on her coat before she knocked on the door. When she entered, her father stared at her over his glasses, with his mouth open. Finally closing his mouth he demanded, "Cassandra Connelly, just where do you think you're going dressed like that?" "Father," she exclaimed, "I am going to the party at Lana's house, remember, and all the girls will be dressed like this, of not more revealing." "Cass, I don't think—" "Father," she said sternly, "I am 22 years old; I am no longer a child who needs to be told what to wear." Jack Connelly sighed. He knew his daughter was well over the age of needing coddling, but he couldn't help it. Since his wife died giving birth to Cass, she was all he had. Jack had built the shipping empire that is family had started to be the most prominent in the world, and he had a lot to show for it. He also made sure that he, and most of all, his daughter was safe at all costs. He worried constantly about her. "Besides Dad," she continued gently, "I just spent 4 years studying hard to get my degree. I think I need a little time to have fun." He felt older than his 50 years when he finally looked up from his desk. "I know you deserve it Cassie, I just worry about you sometimes," he said. "Make sure you have William drive you and pick you up, that way I'll worry less." Cass gave a slight smile, knowing that she should just accept that he gave in without a fight, and not be upset that he made her go with a driver. She missed their old driver Fred, but he had retired 2 months ago. William had been the driver ever since. She felt uncomfortable riding with William, frequently feeling his steel grey eyes piercing through her as he stared at her in the rearview mirror. Tonight she was to meet Dave, a senior like her, whom she had been dating for 2 years. Tonight she felt that it was finally time to take their relationship to the next level, and had already planned with her best friend Lana how it would take place at her house. Why not? Dave was probably the handsomest guy in the whole school, and he was sweet, though she always felt something lacking whenever they got to the point of actually making out. "That's fine Dad, I will take William," she said, then added, feeling a little guilty, "Oh, I might stay over at Lana's if it gets too late." "Just let me know if you are, sweetie," Jack replied, standing up and walking around the large oak table that took up most the center of the room. He then walked over and pulled her into a huge hug. "I am proud of you, daughter, and your Mother would've been proud too," he said and then looked up to her, eyes glistening. "Thank you, Dad," Cass replied quietly, feeling her own eyes mist up. Jack quickly pulled away, looking slightly embarrassed at his emotion. "Yes, well," Jack said gruffly, as he cleared his throat. "You better get going, have a great time." "I will Dad, and I will call you if I am going to spend the night," she replied hurriedly. "I'll call William and let him know that you are on your way down," Jack said, as he picked up his phone and started to dial. Cass ran to her room to freshen up her makeup. She looked in the mirror again, satisfied with the results, and then sprayed her favorite perfume. The anticipation of the night made her eyes sparkle. She then rushed down the stairs, hoping that she wouldn't have to wait too long for William. As she reached the front foyer, she saw him waiting for her at the door. His muscular form was clad in a black suit for his uniform. He was tall, 6'3", and had dark brown hair that he kept close cut. His facial features were sharp, but handsome, especially when one was drawn to his liquid steel grey eyes. He stood with his legs slightly apart, and his arms crossed across his chest. He wore a bored expression on his face. "Ready, Princess," he said in a deep voice that sent shivers down her spine. His eyes bored into hers as she found herself staring back. His gaze traveled from her face to her feet and back up, to rest for a second on her large breasts. Cass felt her face turn even redder when she realized what he was staring at. She looked away. "Yes," she said stiffly, and gave him the address to Lana's house. The drive seemed to take longer than usual in the luxury Cadillac. Cass was relieved when her cell phone rang about half way through the drive. "Cass," a high-pitched voice squeaked into the receiver, "Where are you? Dave is already here and has been asking about you." "I'm on my way, Lana," Cass replied, "I should be there in about 10 minutes." "What did you tell your Dad?" Lana giggled. "I told him that I might spend the night at your house, that I would let him know," Cass said as she looked ahead and caught William's eyes staring at her in the rearview mirror. "Lana, I'll see you in a few minutes," she said quickly as she closed the phone, and stared out the window the rest of the ride. When they pulled up the log driveway to the brightly lit mansion, there were many people already there and party was in full swing. Cass had her hand on the handle ready to jump out as soon as the car stopped. "So I take it I will not be picking you up tonight, Princess," William drawled, humor dancing in his eyes. "Um, no," Cass stammered as she reached for the door handle. "Have a good time, Princess", he said huskily, outwardly undressing her with his eyes in the rearview mirror. "Thank you," she mumbled, as she jumped out of the car and ran up the stairs to the front of the house. William chuckled as he watched her run up the steps. Spoiled little bitch, he thought as he looked in the rearview mirror to back out of the driveway. It was then that he spied her purse laying on the backseat, forgotten in her haste to get away from him. This is going to be easier than I thought, he thought, a smile forming on is lips. **** The music was thumping, and there were easily 50 people dancing in the living room. Cass tried to find Dave in crowd, and was relieved when she finally spotted him on the other side of the room standing next to Lana. She made her way over, and approached Dave with a sexy smile on her face. "Hi, baby, you look hot." he said, admiringly looking her over from head to toe as William had done earlier, though she felt none of the tingle she had felt before. "I'm glad you think so," she said, pushing the thought aside of how she felt when William had done the same thing only an hour earlier. Lana handed her a beer, which she readily started drinking, finishing it as they stood there looking around. When it was empty, Lana handed her another one. Cass had to admit to herself that she was slightly nervous about tonight. It would be the first time that she had ever gone all the way with anyone. Sure they had fooled around, but never got that far. "I think I am in the mood for something a little stronger, Lana," Cass said as she finished the second beer. "Whoa, need some liquid courage, babe?" Dave teased her. Lana giggled as she handed Cass a shot of tequila. "Here's some courage, Cass," she said. Cass was not used to drinking this much so fast and already felt her head start to fill with a buzz. "Let's dance, babe," Cass said, laughing, as she grabbed Dave's arm. He laughed, and held on to her arm as she led him into the middle of the living room. They made a striking couple, her golden hair and skin, and him with pale blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. They were like Ken and Barbie. Cass immediately put her arms around Dave's neck and pulled him down for a kiss. He seemed a little bit surprised at first, but soon was following her lead as she put her sweet wet tongue in between her lips. He groaned as he ran his hands down her back to her tight ass, grasping it and pulling her tight to his growing erection. "Mmmmm, baby, you taste so good," he whispered into her ear when they came up for air. They started grinding into each other, as they let the music fuel their desire as they moved. She could feel a wetness start to form between her legs, soaking her black thong, as Dave's almost fully erect cock was pressing into her belly. He then let his hands glide down her ass cheeks and thighs, moving under the tight black fabric back up to her ass to cup her naked cheeks. Squeezing with one hand, he traced the other one down in between the crack to her pussy, feeling the wetness envelope his hand as he rubbed her mound through the soaking thong. "Want to go upstairs?" Cass said huskily, though slightly slurring her words, both from her arousal and the alcohol. His eyes opened wide with shock. "Are you sure, Cass?" It's not like he didn't want it. Hell he was ready to bend her over the couch that was pushed against the wall in the living room, that's how bad he wanted her. She nodded, and giggled. Dave then grabbed her hand and as they started to walk towards the stairs, she felt a hand tap her shoulder. Cass whirled around in surprise, and in her buzzed state lost her balance. She would have fallen if not for the strong hands that reached around her tiny waist to catch her. She looked up and found herself staring again into steel grey eyes that had her so unnerved earlier. She found her footing, and immediately pushed away from William, glaring at him. "What are you doing here?" she said to him, angrily. "Your father sent me, apparently there is some sort of emergency," William replied quickly, "I am to take you home right away." "Why didn't he just call me on my cell phone?" Cass demanded. "You left your purse in the car, Princess," William replied, giving her a look of disdain. Dave came back to her side. "What's going on?" he asked, looking confused. "Her aunt has had an accident, and Mr. Connelly sent me to pick up Cassandra," William explained. Cass immediately sobered up when she heard it was her aunt. She only had one other living relative, besides her dad, her mother's younger sister Lorraine. Lorraine was 10 years younger than her sister Marianne, and was opposite in looks from her sister also. Cass was an almost carbon copy of her mother, while Lorraine had dark brunette hair, and green eyes. Lorraine had been almost like a mother to her, which is why Cass felt such shock at hearing that she was in the hospital. Cass immediately went and grabbed her jacket, and gave a quick goodbye to Lana and Dave. She then ran to the car, and refused to talk to William once he started to drive. "I am to take you to Riverdale General, Princess, your father will meet you there," he said briskly. "Fine," she snapped. Cass could feel the effects from the alcohol start to cloud her head again, and the smooth ride in the car started to put her to sleep. She leaned her head into the car seat and fell asleep. **** Cass awoke suddenly as the car seemed to slam to a halt. She lifted her heavy eye lids and attempted to look around, as she vaguely remembered her dreams of penetrating grey eyes and bulging muscles. The darkness outside the car window kept her from seeing anything that looked familiar to her. She looked around the car in confusion. Seeing that William was not in the front seat, she grabbed the handle only to find that it was locked. She was about to start pounding on the window, when the door next to her was yanked open. She gasped as she stared into the eyes that had haunted her in her dreams, but when she looked past him, she was shocked to realize that that the scenery she saw was rugged mountain terrain instead of Riverdale General. "Where the hell are we?" Cass demanded as she tried to push him out of the way. William's body was like a brick wall that refused to move. "Princess," William said roughly, as he slapped a piece of duct tape over her mouth, "You have reached the limit of what I want to hear out of your mouth." Cass's Capture Ch. 02 As he pushed the tape over Cass' mouth he felt a slight twinge of guilt for what he was doing. Hell, he had already gone this far, why stop now? He had gotten the job, told them a false name and the kidnapping went easier than the thought. Was it worth all this? He then shook his head as if to clear the guilty thoughts out of his mind and roughly pulled her out of the car. I have to do whatever it takes to take care of my own, he thought to himself confidently as he started to bind her ankles with the duct tape. Cass watched in horror as her ankles were bound, and started to panic as she felt him start to bind her wrists behind her back. She started to scream behind the tape when he finished, and then felt the knife blade press to her side. "What did I tell you, Princess? I'm done hearing you talk," he growled into her ear, "Do not make me use this." He was so close that Cass could feel his breath on her ear, and over her fear a sense of excitement started to grow. She then felt disgust that what she felt, and started to feel desperation about her situation. Tears began to form in her eyes and fall down her cheeks in rivers of black makeup. He looked at her, seeing panic in her bright blue eyes. After the two months of being treated like dirt by her, seeing Cass helpless sent a tingle of pleasure down his spine. She was the haughty little princess that flaunted her sexy body in front of him, and he could do nothing but fake politeness and watch. He grabbed her and roughly tied a strip of cloth over her eyes. She started to struggle, and then he pushed her so she had no choice but to fall back into the car. He looked at her as she lay in the back seat of the car, legs sticking out bent at the knees. He let his gaze move up until his eyes reached the point where her tight black dress had bunched up around her hips. He could see the crotch of her thong and just the shape of her mound under it. After all those days seeing her in various skimpy outfits, he couldn't control himself as he started to walk towards her. He reached where she lay and ran his hand up her thigh, and let out a small chuckle as she flinched. He continued running his hand up her leg, adding the other on to her other thigh, each time getting closer and closer to her heated sex. Cass lay still as he continued the teasing caresses on her legs, furious at herself for being turned on by his administrations. When finally his thumbs met at the juncture of her thighs, he moved her panties away, exposing her smooth pink lips to the crisp air. He then dipped one finger inside her outer lips, dragging his fingernail over her sensitive nub, and then down to her sopping wet entrance. Cass shivered. "Is this what I kept you from tonight, Princess?" he murmured. He brought his finger up again to her clit and lazily started to rub it. She moaned behind the tape. "Now what would your boyfriend think if he knew you got this wet for just anyone?" She jerked away from him, and jabbed him in the stomach with her stiletto shoe clad foot. "You bitch," he gasped, as he doubled over in pain. He recovered quickly as his cell phone began to ring. He pushed the rest of her body into the car and slammed the door as he reached for the phone. Cass strained to hear the conversation going on outside. She swung her legs around to reach the floor of the vehicle, and maneuvered herself into a sitting position. She felt a slight twinge of satisfaction that the knowledge that she had caused him pain, but was still scared out of her mind at what was going on. "Yeah," he said into the phone, and then paused listening to the other end. "I have her. We will be making the call, and then heading up the mountain in a few minutes." He paused again, then said bye and hung up the phone. Well, that didn't give me much, she thought to herself. He then opened the door again and grabbed her purse from the back seat and started rummaging through it. He grabbed her cell phone out of it and then yanked Cass to her feet. "Here's how it's gonna go, Princess," he said to her softly. "I am going to take off the tape over your mouth and we are going to make that call to your dad that you told your friend about. You're not going to make me do something you'll regret." He pushed the knife up to her side again. "Do you understand?" he demanded. She stood there trembling from the cold air, and the fear that was coursing through her veins. He pushed the knife in further, cutting through the fabric on the side of her dress, and pricking the surface of her skin. "Do you understand?" he asked again, more forcefully. She nodded, as the tears started to roll down her cheeks again. "Good, this will all be over soon if you cooperate." He then pulled off the tape over her mouth in one swift motion. She shrieked and almost fell over from the shock and pain of it. He quickly put his had over her mouth and held the knife against her. "I said cooperate, not throw a tantrum," he snarled, "and don't think I forgot stunt you pulled earlier with your shoe." She was trembling and whimpering behind his hand. "You need to calm yourself, Cassandra. Breaking into hysterics will only make things worse for you in the long run." He was beginning to run out of patience. He didn't sign up to play babysitter and nursemaid to a little rich snob, but that was what it was turning into. Just kidnapping her was turning into a whole production, one of which he was very weary to be involved in. If he didn't need the money so badly, he probably would've left then. "I'm ready, William," she said quietly behind his hand. He pulled is away and grabbed the cell phone, keeping the knife firmly against her side with his other hand. He dialed the number and held the cell phone up to her ear. Cass was anxiously waiting to hear her father pick up the phone, and was ready to do what it took to alert him that there was something wrong, but was disappointed to hear his voicemail pick up. With the cold steel of the knife pressing even harder, she had no choice but to follow his directions. "Hi Dad, I am staying at Lana's house," she said into the phone, and then whispered, "I love you Daddy" as the phone was slammed shut. She started to sob, which seemed to irritate him even more. He pushed her back into the car as if he couldn't stand to see her cry. "Shut up," he snapped at her, "Is it really that difficult to do what you are told to do for once in your life without acting like a spoiled little bitch?" She stiffened in anger and pushed herself again so she was in a sitting position in the back of the car. She couldn't believe that he was acting like he was inconvenienced by her. "You son of a bitch," she screamed at him, "You gain the trust of my family only to kidnap me, tie me up, and hold a knife to me to force me to call my father, and you expect me to come along quietly?" He stared at her, almost in shock at her sudden spurt of defiance. She was glaring at him, her blue eyes were shooting sparks at him, and her chest was moving up and down as she was breathing deep with her rage. "You are a monster, William," she spat at him, "If that is even your real name." He closed the distance between them quickly, and then hauled her up to stand in front of him intending on telling her exactly what he thought of her. He pulled of the fabric that covered her eyes, and then he found himself transfixed by her face. Her blue eyes glittered with hatred, her cheeks were red with anger and indignation, and her full lips were slightly parted. He watched as her tongue darted out to touch her upper lip almost nervously. Then he crushed his lips harshly over hers, punishing her again and again with the brutality of his mouth. She started to struggle, and tried to push away from him. His grip on her shoulders tightened as he then forced his tongue through her lips, tasting her sweetness. She stopped struggling, and found her own tongue exploring his mouth, tentatively rubbing against his. He groaned and ripped his mouth away from her, and pushed her back down on to the seat, swearing under his breath. He was furious with himself. He had a job to do, and here he was as entranced with her as a young school boy. He had to calm himself, and forced his breathing to slow. "That will not happen again," he said bitterly, barely noticing the bemused expression on her face. Cass couldn't believe that instead of fear, her heart was beating with desire. She had welcomed the kiss, even responded. She felt her face heat with embarrassment. He was her kidnapper, not someone that she should want to kiss again. She traced her tongue over her lips, and could still taste him on her bruised lips. She watched as he pulled some luggage and other bags out of the trunk of the car, and walk to a Jeep that was parked nearby. Even though it was still dark out, Cass could see that the Jeep was loaded with supplies. He continued to transfer items to the Jeep, as Cass struggled to try to free herself from the tight binding of the duct tape. She started to look around for something sharp to cut it with, and finding nothing, she started to struggle in earnest. He then slammed the car trunk closed, and came around to face her. He chucked as he watched her struggle in vain with the duct tape, and asked her to stand up. She looked at him defiantly, and scowled at him, as if letting him know she was going to do nothing that he demanded. He grabbed Cass by the waist and pulled her up so that she was standing, and slammed the car door closed behind her. She let out a squeal as he picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, and walked over to the Jeep. He then opened the passenger door, and unceremoniously dumped her onto the seat. "By the way, my name is Colin," he snapped at her as he slammed the door shut in her face. Cass's Capture Ch. 03 The road up the mountain was rocky, and Cass found herself being bounced around in the front seat of the Jeep. Luckily Colin had buckled the seat belt, however with her wrists still bound behind her back, it was impossible to stay in one place. They drove along in silence for about an hour, going straight up on the dirt road and taking a few random turns. Cass had the feeling that he was trying to confuse her by going in what seemed like a circle at times. Colin was particularly glad the she was silent during the ride. He was kicking himself that he told her his real name. He may as well of given her is address while he was at it. There was something about Cass that got under his skin, and every time she called him "William" it was like nails on a chalkboard to hear it. He wanted to tell her that he wasn't a criminal, that he was doing this as a last resort. He wanted her to know that he had a real job, and even had a college degree. He could only imagine what she thought of him now. He tried to clear those kinds of thoughts from his head. What did it matter what she thought? Colin looked at her from the corner of his eye. She sat straight up, staring ahead, her lips in a scowl. He remembered how she had yelled at him, and had to fight back a slight smile. Cass, on the other hand, was thinking about how she was about 5 seconds from nailing him in the eye with her stiletto if he didn't wipe that smirk off of his face. How dare he think this was funny, she thought to herself. As they finally stopped sunlight was starting to creep up from the east, allowing Cass to get a view of where they were stopping at. In front of her there was a cabin, though ancient looking, even she could tell that it was well made. It was small, but had a look that at one time it was very well loved by its owners. It was made from what looked like local wood, and had a small porch in the front. Colin rolled down the window a quarter of the way, and then got out of the Jeep. He locked the doors before he slammed the door shut. He then went to the front of the cabin and unlocked the door. "Where the hell do you think you're going," Cass shrieked, "You can't just leave me here." "There is no way I am going to let you out until I finish unloading the Jeep," he retorted, as he went inside the cabin. "What am I going to hop away? Or better yet roll down the mountain?" she yelled back at him. He laughed. He knew she was partly right, but there was no way that he was going to give into her demands. He had already given her his name, and that was enough for now. He made several trips from the Jeep to the cabin, carefully avoiding her glare. He finished putting away all the supplies and then walked back out and unlocked the passenger door. "How nice of you to remember me," she said snidely, refusing to look at him. "Like any man would forget you, Princess. All they would need is to taste your sweetness and they'd be hooked for life," he said, looking at her lewdly, as she sat in the seat. She gasped. "You son of—" He put his hand over her mouth. "Yes, we know Princess. Son of a bitch! Already old news, and unless you have something to say worth listening to, I'd advise you to keep it to yourself," he said smoothly. "If you can't control your mouth, I'd be happy to gag you again." Her blue eyes glittered with hatred, but when he took his hand away she said nothing. She gasped again when he pulled the knife from the sheath at his side. He taunted her by holding the knife near her face, and slowly sliding the cold metal down her side and then leg, until it met the tape that bound her ankles. He quickly sliced the tape and grabbed her arm, hauling her out of the Jeep. He put the knife back in its holder and reached down and grabbed her stilettos. He then flung them as hard as he could down the mountainside. "Don't have much use for those up here, Princess, now do you?" he laughed at her as he dragged her into the cabin. She remained silent. Right inside the cabin there was a small living room with a sofa, recliner and fireplace, which was already lit. To the left of the living room and the entrance there was a small kitchen with a hallway leading off of the back wall. Colin pulled Cass through the kitchen and down the hall, opening a door that led to a bedroom, passing another door that Cass hoped was the restroom. He led her into the room, and proceeded to cut the tape that bound her wrists. Then without a word backed out of the door, shutting it and locking it from the outside. He then went into the living room and sat on the recliner, letting the weariness overtake him. Cass couldn't believe that Colin had just left her locked in this room. Granted, it wasn't a prison cell. There was a large bed, a dresser, and a space heater. She went over to the dresser and started looking through the drawers and found blankets and towels. The room was small and windowless, and the bed took up most of the space. She couldn't help but notice that the bed looked extremely comfortable, and in her exhaustion, fell onto the soft quilt and into a deep sleep. ***** Jack Connelly awoke in the morning and his first thought was wondering what time his daughter had come home. He got up and turned off the television he had fallen asleep in front of the night before and went down the hall to see if Cass was up yet. He saw that her door was open, and the bed had not appeared to be slept in. She must've stayed at Lana's house, he thought to himself as he went to the study to get his cell phone. When he turned it on, he saw that he had two messages. The first one was from Cass telling him that she was staying over at her friends. He chuckled at how she sounded, thinking that maybe she had too much to drink. The second one was from an unknown number, and as he listened to the message his body started to tremble as his face turned white. After the message he immediately called his friend, the Chief of Police at Riverdale P.D. When Chief Matthews finally picked up the phone, Jack was almost hysterical. "Don," he gasped into the phone. "Someone's taken my daughter... someone has Cass." The chief said that he would be right over and hung up. Jack then called Lorraine and she also said she would be on her way. After the calls he wearily sat down in his chair behind his desk, and put his head in his hands. That was exactly how Lorraine found him thirty minutes later. He stood up as she came around the desk and put her arms around him, holding him as he sobbed in anguish. "This is all my fault... I should've had more protection on her... I should have made her stay home," he sobbed. Lorraine tried to comfort him as best as she could. She kept holding him until Chief Matthews strode into the room. Jack and Lorraine straightened up, and then Jack picked up the cell phone and played the message over the speaker. "Greetings, Mr. Connelly" the voice said, "I have your daughter. She is currently being held in a distant location, and is safe... for now. To ensure her safety, and my consideration towards returning her, I will need five million dollars. I will be in touch." ****** Colin woke up a few hours later, noticing the late afternoon light filter in through the windows. At first he could not remember why he was at his grandfather's hunting cabin, but then the realization of what he had done dawned on him. Since the night before, he finally had a second to reflect on the situation. He thought of the events of the past day, and what had happened to bring him to this point... that terrible night three months ago... Colin was on his way home from work when he received a phone call from his sister Lillian. Lillian was 5 years younger than his 32, shared his dark hair and grey eyes, though hers usually glittered with laughter. She had porcelain skin, and her dark hair was long and wavy. She always seemed vulnerable to him, and when their parents died when he was 21 and she 16, he swore to always take care of her. Lily was a believer that the glass was always half full, she only saw the good in people, and often gave chance after chance to those that would hurt her. One of those types of people was her husband Richard. She had met Richard during her last year of college, and was dazzled by his relatively good looks and charming personality. Everything was great, until they said "I do". After that Rich turned into a control freak. He wouldn't let her go anywhere without him, even to visit her own brother. Colin was not sure about everything that was going on during their two year marriage. At first when Lily withdrew he made some jokes about it, but she always defended Rich, and asked him to let it go. When Colin looked at his caller id he was surprised that it was her, knowing that Rich had a pretty tight leash on her. "Hey sis," he answered cheerfully. "How's it going?" "You have to help me, Colin," she said, brokenly. "I can't take it anymore. He... he hurt me really bad this time." She started to sob softly into his ear. At that, Colin had to pull over to the side of the road. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He knew that things were bad, but he had no idea that it was that bad. He was so mad at himself, failing to protect his baby sister. "What did he do to you, Lily?" he yelled. "I'm gonna kill him." "No!," she screamed. "I just want out...promise me you wont do anything. I just have to pack a bag... can I stay with you?" "Of course you can Lily. You don't even have to ask Just hurry up and get to my house will figure out what to do then." After they hung up the phone, Colin decided that he had no choice but to confront Rich, so he drove to the high rise where Rich's office was and decided to pay him a visit. When they were face to face in Rich's office, Colin could not hold his cool any longer. He strode around the desk and pushed Rich into a wall, holding him there by his neck. "Hey... what is your problem," Rich said, gasping as he had to fight for air. "You are the problem, asshole," Colin growled, "If you come near my sister again I will make sure that you won't take another breath." "Wh-what are you talking about... you're crazy," Rich stammered. "You haven't even seen crazy, but you will if you try to follow her you will regret it." Colin then let go of Rich's neck and left as the other man fell to the floor. Rich watched angrily as Colin left. Then he calmly stood up, grabbed his suitcase and left the office. **** Colin had a slightly uneasy feeling as he drove home that night, and when he pulled into his driveway, he was shocked that he didn't see Lilly's car in the driveway. He entered the house, and after changing his clothes he decided to give Lilly a call on her cell phone. He started to get even more worried when the voicemail picked up right away. He left her a message, and then turned on the television to pass the time while he was waiting for her. Colin turned it to the news, and was half watching it as he was trying to come up with a plan for Lilly. All of the sudden a news bulletin caught his attention: "This just in..." the newscaster said. "There has been a serious accident in Riverdale at the intersection of First and Main Street, as a red Honda was, according to witnesses, run off the road by an unknown driver. The driver was taken to Riverdale General, and her condition is unknown at this time..." **** Twenty minutes later Colin ran into the emergency room. He frantically ran to the nurse's desk. "I'm looking for Lillian Malone—I mean Hatcher. She's my sister," he exclaimed, slightly out of breath. "I am sorry, sir, she is in surgery right now. You can wait in the waiting room with her husband", said the grey haired nurse with the nasally voice. Colin whirled around towards the waiting room. He couldn't believe that Rich would actually show his face here. In his gut he knew that Rich had done this to Lily, and this never would've happened if it were not for his going to threaten Rich at work earlier. "What the hell are you doing here?" he demanded of Rich quite loudly in the crowded waiting area. "I am waiting for news of my wife, who was in an unfortunate accident," Rich said innocently, with a slight smirk as he stared at Colin as if daring him to make a scene. Colin leaned against the wall and closed his eyes. He knew that he failed Lily, and a terrible weight of guilt settled over him. He had to fight very hard not to go after Rich, but he knew that they would throw him out of the hospital if he did anything. He cared more about his sister's well being at the moment. After a few hours, the surgeons came out and gave them the news. There was a lot of damage to her ribs, and she had two broken legs. They were most worried about her head. She had suffered a pretty bad head injury, and was unconscious. The doctors felt strongly that she would regain consciousness, but it would probably be a few days. Colin had stayed at the hospital for 3 days straight, and on the third night she had showed signs of awakening. Rich was also at the hospital most days, but he would only pop in for a few minutes to see if Lily improved, and leave. Upon delivering the news about Lily's current state, the nurse had convinced Colin to finally go home to rest and change, and come back in the morning.. When Colin got home he fixed himself a sandwich and took a quick shower, he then decided to watch some television. He started to doze off while watching a movie, and was surprised to be woken up by a pounding at the door. When he pulled open the front door, and was startled to see Rich there. He paled a little bit, thinking that something happened to Lilly. "Lily's fine," Rich snapped, pushing his way into to house. "Then what the hell are you doing here?" Colin replied. "I know what you did to her, and you almost killed her." "I don't think so, besides if that were the case, how do you think I found out she was leaving. I even knew where she was going," Rich, laughed. Colin shuddered at how maniacal the other man sounded. He stood near the front door and motioned that the other man should leave. He knew that Rich was right. There was no way to prove that he was the person that cut Lily off. "Not so fast, Colin, don't you want to know why I'm here? I have a proposition for you." Colin sighed, barely controlling his anger. He slammed the front door, and stood with his arms crossed over his muscular chest. "You better make this quick, Hatcher," Colin snarled at Rich. "Here's the deal: you probably don't want Lily to know that you caused her accident, as it was indirectly your fault. In fact there is probably nothing that you would want more that for me to disappear, right?" Rich asked. Colin gave him a brief nod, still confused at why the other man was there. "I want money, and I wouldn't mind my freedom. You can see that married life isn't agreeing with me. Apart from the life insurance policy over Lillian, I don't have anything to give me an incentive for me to leave. Besides, it looks like she might be sticking around a bit longer," Rich laughed. Colin lunge towards him, but the other man stepped away just in time. "Wait just a minute, no need to get testy," Rich continued. "I have a little idea that I could use your help with. I have found a way to make a lot of money. It's not legal and if I do it alone I may end up killing someone, so you'd have their death on your conscience." **** That was three months ago, and now Colin was sitting in his grandfather's hunting lodge with a woman locked in the bedroom. He thought about what had made him agree. Was it that he thought Rich would actually leave after he got the money? Was it that when he saw the girl that he was supposed to kidnap he couldn't just back out and let Rich do it? He knew that Cass probably would've been killed, had he not played this part. This was like a typical moral dilemma. Let people die, and make his sister suffer more, or commit a federal offense that he hoped he wouldn't get caught for. Of course Cass knew his name, and that probably wouldn't help his case. He relaxed in the chair for a few more minutes before he started to hear yelling coming from the back room. With a groan he got up to go see what Cass wanted. As he opened the door she was ready for him. "Well are you going to let me use the restroom, or do you want to clean the accident off the floor if I have to wait any longer? If there is even a bathroom in this dump?" she sneered at him. "If you would have had an accident it would be you that cleaned it up, Princess," he said mildly, as he grabbed her arm and led her to the small restroom. He was fuming at her remark, but of course he knew that she was used to nothing less than luxury. Before he let her in the bathroom, he pushed her against the wall and pinned her there with his body. Her breath started to quicken as he positioned his lips an inch away from hers. "I must apologize if the accommodations are not up to your standards, perhaps I could give you something to make your stay more enjoyable," he said softly as his hard lips crushed into her soft ones. Relentlessly his lips punished hers until he unleashed his tongue into her mouth, and found her to be a willing participant. He ran his hands down her arms, relishing in the goose bumps that his touch caused. When he brought them up again, he let his thumbs graze her hardened nipples through the material of her dress and bra. Cass shivered and deepened the kiss, pulling his tongue further into her mouth as she started to rub her hands over his back and then up and down his arms, finally settling behind his neck. Colin had to fight to keep control over his raging arousal. He pulled her closer, crushing her lower body against his male hardness, as her hands continued back down his body stopping at his waist. She moaned slightly in his ear as he rubbed his hands over her breasts again. He grabbed one of her hands and pulled down to feel how hard she had made him. "You want this very badly, don't you princess?" he whispered huskily. She stiffened, and then tore her lips from his as she pushed him away. His blood was still raging with desire, and he did not notice that she had taken the keys that hung on his belt. "I need some privacy," she said coldly, putting her arms around her back. The tone of her voice cut through the haze of desire around him, and he quickly backed out of the bathroom as she slammed the door behind him. When he left Cass felt the keys in her hand and felt relieved. She was again feeling warm desire from this person that had taken her, though it was not entirely unwanted. She calmed down her ragged breathing and quickly used the restroom. Cass started to run the sink water, and then opened the window that was just small enough for her to fit through. She removed the screen, and crawled through the window, wincing as her bare feet hit the rocky ground. She then made a run for the Jeep. As Colin waited in the hall he felt foolish that she could get him so hot. In his mind he pictured what it would be like under different circumstances with her. He could picture her naked on his bed, legs spread with a welcoming smile. He would then -- At that moment the sound of the Jeep starting broke through his fantasy. **** *I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter. I know it didn't have a lot of "romance" in it, but seemed necessary to develop the characters and make the situation more understandable before moving forward. Also, I appreciate the wonderful feedback on the story thus far! It has given me the confidence to continue (quickly, which should please some), and has given me ideas on other stories that would branch off this one. Ch. 4 is in the works, and there will be a couple more twists and turns before we reach the end. Cass's Capture Ch. 03 If you would please take the time to vote for my story, I would greatly appreciate it!!!* Cass's Capture Ch. 04 **Sorry that this installment has taken this long, life seems to interfere all to often. I hope you all enjoy this chapter, it is not as steamy as the rest... but hey, sometimes the climax is worth the wait (no pun intended!). So enjoy, and please vote!!** Ch. 4 Colin ran to the front door, unable to believe that he had let her get away that easily. He felt his side, and groaned when he realized that the key ring was missing from his belt. He had let himself fall so deeply under a spell of desire that she had taken the keys without his notice. He flung open the front door in time to see the dust from the back tires as Cass took off in the Jeep. He started to run down the rocky road behind her, wondering how she was going to find her way out, as there were so many different off road trails to take. He tried to follow her and the dust created by the tires, but she was driving way too fast for him to keep up. Unfortunately in no time the exertion from running caused Colin to run out of breath sooner in high altitude, as he was not used to the mountain air. He bent over, and placed his palms on his thighs, gasping to catch his breath. Colin was not so much worried about her getting away as he was getting to her and finally telling her the truth. He knew that if Cass made it down the mountain before her father paid the ransom, that it was just a matter of time before Rich found her. Colin shuddered as he imagined what she would endure at Rich's hands. The sound of the Jeep crashing into something caused him to start running again. **** Jack was still pacing his office hours later, while the police still could not give him any leads on the whereabouts of his daughter, and he seemed to be getting frantic. Not even Lorraine's comforting was keeping him calm. He raked his hand thru his graying hair and continued to pace. At that moment Chief Matthews burst into the room, slightly out of breath from running up the stairs. Jack stopped pacing and ran over to the Chief with an expectant look in his eye, and Lorraine stood up from the couch. "We haven't found her yet, Jack," the chief said gently as Jack's shoulders slumped. "We have found some interesting clues, however. We found the limo and your daughter's purse. Her cell phone was inside. There were no fingerprints, besides Cassandra's and Mr. Malone's, and there is no sign of a struggle." Jack's head snapped up at the hope that his daughter was alive, and Lorraine came forward and put her arms around him. He leaned into the smaller woman unconsciously as the wheels in his mind began to turn. "Has there been any sign of William?" Jack demanded. "At this time we have been unable to locate Mr. Malone, we have contacted his sister, but she has not heard from her either," Chief Matthews replied. "Where was the limo found?" Lorraine inquired softly. "It was found in an empty lot off the highway, not too far from Kings Mountain," the Chief replied, "We will start combing the area tomorrow, but there are a lot of off road trails and forest." Jack sighed and stepped away from Lorraine. He then started pacing the office. "I feel so helpless... my little girl is out there, and I can't do anything to help find her," Jack said angrily, as he collapsed on the couch. "We are going everything we possibly can, Jack," Chief Matthews said calmly, "You need to stay calm. I will let you know what happens tomorrow." Lorraine walked over to the Chief and shook his hand, and Chief Matthews left. She then went over and sat next to Jack. She put her hand on his arm, and then he pulled her to his chest. "Oh, Lori," he moaned, "What if something bad happened to her? What if I failed her as a father? This never should've happened." "Don't talk like that, Jack" she said to him firmly. "You have to believe she is okay, put a little faith in our girl." She grasped his chin so that they were face to face. "She is a strong, smart woman, partly because of you. If anyone could survive this it would be her." Jack reached his hand to Lori's cheek and brushed a lock of curly brown hair off of her face, and caressed her cheek. He stared into her wide green eyes, basking in the warmth that he saw in their depths. So caught up in the moment of needing comfort, he let his lips lightly brush over hers. She quickly sat back against the couch, not expecting his kiss. "I'm sorry, Lori, I didn't mean to take advantage of your comfort," Jack said quickly, turning away to hide his embarrassment. He to was shocked by the kiss, and was confused as to why he had done it in the first place. Though Jack had had some long term relationships after the death of his wife, he had never found someone that he wanted to get married to. His last girlfriend had moved to Europe over six months ago and he had not seen anyone since, as he had an extremely large workload most of the time. Lorraine dated too, and had been married for a few years while in her late twenties, but had been divorced and single since then. They were both lonely, and they had the common bond of Cass in their lives. Lori turned to him, and put her hand on his shoulder. "Hey, its ok," she said gently, "I know that you are going through a lot of emotions right now. I don't know what that kiss meant between us, but things are too much to even think about it. I am here for you, Jack. I'm not going to just leave over that." Jack sighed with relief. "Thank you for understanding, Lori. I know this might seem a little odd, especially after that, but can I talk you into staying tonight? If not just to comfort each other, but so you can be here if there's any news." "Of course," Lori replied, with a smile, "I'll sleep in the guest room." Hours later they were both still wide awake, both thinking of Cass, yet also trying to forget the intimate moment that they had shared that night. **** After Cass got into the Jeep she felt a sense of freedom that overwhelmed her. Though Colin had done nothing to seriously injure her, she was unsure of what his intentions were overall. She slammed the Jeep into drive and took off, seeing the dust and gravel spit out under the tires as she pealed out. She had almost no idea where she was going, and couldn't remember all of the turns that Colin had made earlier, but she figured that down was the best direction that she could go. Cass looked into the rearview mirror, and noticed Colin running after her close enough that if she had to back track while getting lost, he would surely catch up to her. She glanced at the rearview mirror again and noticed that he had stopped, obviously out of breath. She gave a triumphant shout, and stepped harder on the gas. The additional force of the gas caused the vehicle to lose traction and spin out as she made a turn, and instead of 4 tires on the road, there were only 2. She quickly grabbed the steering wheel, and tried to correct the out of control vehicle. The Jeep had almost straightened out, when she saw that there was a sharp turn ahead. Unable to turn fast enough, the Jeep crashed head on into a large pine tree. After the Jeep came to a complete stop, Cass sat dazed in the front seat. She looked over the dash and saw that the front of the Jeep was totally crushed in. All the sudden she heard heavy footsteps running towards her, and Colin's voice yelling at her, before she passed out. **** When Colin first arrived and the Jeep, he thought the worst. The front was totally smashed in, and there was no sound coming from Cass. He yelled out her name a few times, but got no response. He reached the drivers side door and tried to pull it open, unsuccessfully. He ran to the passenger side and found it also stuck, and the rear doors locked. Colin the picked up a large rock, and started to smash in the rear window enough that he could reach the door lock. He climbed in and over to the passenger seat. "Damn it, Cass," he yelled, "I brought you here to protect you." Colin felt her neck for a pulse and found it, though it was slightly weak. He tried to undo her seat belt, and found that it was also stuck. He had no choice but to use his hunting knife to slash the belt. He gently lifted her and put her onto the back seat, then crawled back there, preparing to carry her to the cabin. **** A few hours later, Cass found herself lying on the couch in a place that she couldn't remember. There was a warm fire next to her, and she felt a few blankets on top of her. She snuggled deeper into them, as she wondered how she got there. After a few moments her eyes snapped open wide as she remembered how she had got there. She glanced around the room, her gaze finally falling on the dark haired man that had brought her there and that was starting at her just as intently. He sighed as if he were anxiously waiting for her to wake up. Colin was, in fact, waiting just for that. After he had carried her back to the cabin and laid her on the couch, he had anxiously waiting for her to wake up. He wanted to make sure that she was okay, and he knew he finally had to tell the truth about why he was doing what he was doing, and why she was safer where she was. Cass stared at him with widened eyes. She was unsure of what to do. She knew that he must have saved her from the car and brought her back to the cabin. On the other hand, he did kidnap her. Then again he hadn't done any damage to her, except maybe to her pride. The events of the last 2 days filled her head, and the intimate moments that they had together made her breath catch. Here was this man that she should be afraid of, but there was such a sexual undercurrent of sexual desire between them that it was impossible to deny. Colin watch as the expression of her feeling crossed her face. He knew that she must be going through some turmoil, and she had every right to run out of the cabin screaming. He had to get her to trust him. He cleared his throat, breaking thru the thoughts running in her mind. She jumped slightly as he said her name. "Cass? How do you feel?" he asked her. "Your ankle was swollen, so I put an ice pack on it. It didn't look like you broke anything." She just stared at him for a moment longer. Here he was hovering over her acting all concerned, when yesterday he had held a knife at her side. She closed her eyes again, wanting to block out the conflicting emotions she had towards the entire situation. She sat up, and then slowly tried to stand. She had barely put a slight amount of weight onto her ankle, and her leg buckled under her as she gasped from the pain. Colin jumped up and rushed to her side, his eyes filled with concern. Cass groaned in frustration, and her face turned bright pink in her obvious embarrassment. "I need to use the restroom," she mumbled quietly. Colin came over and picked her up in his muscular arms. At first Cass seemed to struggle, but her hurry to get to the restroom over road any arguments that she would have had. He strode over to the bathroom, carrying her as if she weighed nothing. He set her down in the bathroom where there was luckily a towel rack that she could use to keep herself steady. He started to walk out of the bathroom, and turned back around to face her, remembering what happened the last time that she was left in the restroom "Can I even trust you not to try another stunt like you did before?" he asked. "Are you serious?" she growled impatiently. "I can't walk, let alone crawl back out the window, and it isn't exactly an easy stroll down the hill. You have me here, I can't get away. Now get the hell out!" Her voice started to get shrill as she ended her little speech, and he knew he needed to get out of there before she started screaming at him in a panic. Not that he couldn't blame her... he stood outside the bathroom door and waited for her. **** After Cass did her business, she held onto the towel rack in the small bathroom, and stared at herself in the mirror. She was appalled with the reflection that looked back at her. Her golden blonde hair was mussed and matted; her carefully applied makeup streaked her cheeks, and seemed to be mixed with dirt. There were twigs and leaves stuck in her hair. She knew that the last thing that she should be caring about right now was her looks, but she couldn't help not wanting to let him see her looking like that. She started running the water and made an attempt to clean herself up. Colin heard the water running in the sink for a few minutes, and wondered what was talking so long. He was about to knock on the door when he heard her softly call out to him. He opened the door, and smiled slightly at her attempts to clean herself up. With the make up almost all the way off, her clean face made her look young and vulnerable. Her blue eyes were wide beneath long, sooty lashes. Her cheeks were rosy from the scrubbing they had received. She noticed him staring at her and looked down towards the floor. He quickly picked her up in his arms again and returned her back to the couch. "We need to talk, but first I am going to make us something to eat," he told her gently. "Then afterwards you can take a shower." Colin left her there, in her own thoughts, and went into the kitchen and started opening cupboards. Cass tried to close her eyes to rest, as the excursion to the restroom had left her exhausted, not to mention what she had already been through the past few days. His caring attitude was making her even more confused. He went from an employee that his very presence made her uncomfortable- yet attracted to him- to someone that had kidnapped her at knifepoint. He was now acting like he was a concerned friend. Then he threw the "We need to talk" at her. That made the situation even further to comprehend. As she started to smell the meat grilling, she tried to sort out the situation. If he was really a villain, then why would he care if she lived or died? Why would he go to that much trouble? She supposed because he wanted to get ransom money, but it seemed as if some part of him was almost guilty for what he had done. The smell of their food started to get stronger, and her stomach growled. A few minutes later he came over with a plate with steak and a baked potato. As soon as he gave it to her, she dug in. He sat across from her in the recliner and waited for her to fill her stomach. She barely noticed that he was quietly waiting for her to finish. When she could eat no more, he silently took the plate and walked to the kitchen, he muscular ass was accented by the tautness of his jeans. She quickly looked away, and waited for him to return. She was suddenly extremely interested in what he had to say, now that her mind could focus on something besides her hunger. He came back to the living room and sat down in the recliner. He sighed, and then put his head in his hands. Then he sat back up and raked his fingers through his think dark hair. It seemed he was unsure what to tell her. It was her silent thank you that she said next that convinced him to tell her everything. Colin then proceeded to tell her about the whole thing, from where her parents died, up until what it was that finally made him go through with the plan. When it was all over, his throat was dry from all the talking that he did, so he want to get a drink, and returned with two bottles of water. Of course she had plenty of questions, and after about an hour the cross examination was over. He stared at her expectantly. Hoping that it would make sense, hoping that some part of her would understand that he wasn't the monster that she had thought she was. He wasn't sure why he wanted this understanding from her, but it was suddenly very important. The silence lasted for a few minutes, and then she broke it by asking if he could take her back to the bathroom so that she could take a shower. He carried her again to the bathroom, and made sure that she was okay before he left the room. Cass managed to maneuver herself by using the shower curtain rack, and again the towel rack. Since she only had a sprain, it hurt to walk on her foot, but it was not totally unmanageable. While she was in the shower she thought about what Colin had told her. The situation explained his actions, and his reluctance to follow through with the plan. She knew that what he had done was not really justifiable any way that you looked at it, but she also understood that desperate times called for desperate measures. She also felt relief at knowing that he the only reason that he did go through it was because he wanted to keep her safe. She knew that if she would've returned when she stole the Jeep, there was no telling what Rich would do to Lily, not to mention herself. There were still a lot of things that needed to be fixed and figured out, but she was not totally above not wanting to help Colin's sister. Cass was horrified and what he told her of what Rich had done. By the time that the hot water in the shower turned cool, Cass had felt more relaxed than she had in a long time. She was determined to do what it took to help Colin's sister, though she didn't totally forgive Colin, and was still slightly weary of the whole situation. She felt that her strength was drained from the exertion of taking a shower, and everything that was on her mind, and she was ready to sleep as soon as she got dressed in the clean sweat suit that Colin had left for her. **** Outside the restroom Colin was pacing in the hallway, overwrought with anxiety of what her reaction would be. He knew that if she demanded him to, he would take her home that instant. He only hoped that she would realize that it was safer for them to be up here for the time being, until he could think of a way out of this mess before anyone got hurt, and Rich found out what was going on. He heard her call out to him, and he went into the bathroom, and then asked her for her thoughts. "I am really sleepy right now," she replied with a yawn. "Perhaps I can sleep on it, and talk in the morning." She leaned her head against his chest, barely able to hold her head up in her exhaustion. He took her into the bedroom, and lad her onto the bed, and covered her with the soft quilts. He was about to walk away from the bed when her voice caught him off guard. "In a way you have saved my life," she whispered, closing her eyes and snuggling further into the blankets. He leaned over and brushed a lock of golden hair covered her forehead. He placed a light kiss on the top of her head. "I will never let anything happen to you," Colin promised to the sleeping beauty. **Thank you all again to those that have sent your feedback, please continue, it is greatly appreciated!! Also, please vote!!** (ps- I promise that the wait will be less for Ch. 5) Cass's Capture Ch. 05 Greetings readers, I know that this took a little bit longer than intended, but you will see that it is well worth the wait! As always I appreciate all the feedback that you send, it encourages me to continue. Dont forget to vote!! A special thanks to a fellow writer that helped me with my vision in this chapter! Enjoy! When Cass finally woke up, it was morning and the sunlight poured in through the window. She winced at the bright light and rubbed her eyes. She woke up with a very different feeling than the last time. She had been so scared of what would happen to her, but now that she had heard what Colin had to stay, for some reason the feeling of panic had been replaced by something more like relief. There was always the chance that Colin was lying, but she knew in her heart that he wasn't. His actions weren't those of a maniac, but those of a desperate man. He was a man who was consumed by guilt for allowing his younger sister to be caused so much pain by the man she had married. The smell of coffee brewing made her more alert, and her stomach growled. That gign of hunger made Cass wonder how long she had been out. She sat up and put her legs over the edge of the bed. She wondered if her ankle had healed any, and braced herself for the pain that was sure to come. As she stepped off the side of the bed, she was suddenly seized with an immense pain that shot up her ankle and calf. She cried out at sat back down on the bed, feeling utterly helpless. She heard heavy footsteps walking down that hall, and looked up expectantly as Colin appeared in the doorway with a tentative smile on his face. With his lips in the upturned motion of a smile, she could see the lush fullness of his sensual lips. Cass felt her body become slightly aroused as she remembered what his lips had felt like pressed against her own. Colin looked at her strangely as she shuddered. Her face turned red as she was embarrassed of being caught staring. "Do you need help, Cass," he asked anxiously. "I wasn't sure how you would feel when you got up, but I doubt that the ankle has been healed overnight." "It isn't as bad as last night, but still causes me a lot of pain when I put any weight on it," she replied. He then strode over and lifted her off the bed as if she was weightless. They then repeated the routine of him helping her to the restroom that they had done last night. He waited at the door, his stomach in knots because he was unsure of what would happen next. Despite the tough uncaring front that he had put up towards her to complete his task, that was not the kind of person that he was. Desperation had caused him to do what he did, but he could feel desire, and maybe something more, for Cass. Cass again leaned against the counter and looked into the mirror, again trying to fix her appearance. Knowing what had driven Colin kidnap her, and his admission that he had wanted to keep her safe, caused strange feelings to start to assail her. She had never been around a man like him in her life- save her father. He was strong and loyal, and was willing to do anything to protect those whom he loved. From the simple cabin that they were at, she could sense that material things were not of a high importance to him. Cass had been used to men who acted more like petulant children, and spent their trust funds like there was no tomorrow. These are the reasons that she was still a virgin, even at 22. 'If only Dave was more like Colin', she thought to herself, and then chuckled as she realized that she was wishing her boyfriend were more like her kidnapper. Colin heard her laugh in the restroom. He hoped that was a sign that she would at least be friendly, and hopefully not try to escape again. Of course he knew that she had every right to remain furious and demand that he take her home. He would probably comply. He would have to again stress how important it was to follow through with the plan. He figured that with her knowing what was going on things might go a little smoother. Then again, she probably wouldn't want to go along with extorting her father. **** Jack awoke to the sound of his cell phone ringing nearby. At first he was tempted to silence it, but then jumped up remembering the events of the past few days, and hoping that it was news about Cass. He looked at the caller ID, and saw that it was a blocked number. A feeling of anxiety came over him, for he had the feeling that it was the kidnapper on the other line. "Greetings, Mr. Connelly. I have to admit that I am disappointed," the voice in the receiver said. "I have noticed the Police Chief at your home a few times; I thought that you would have been smarter than that?" "He-- " Jack stammered. "No time for excuses, Mr. Connelly," said the deep male voice. "You have more important things to do, like getting my money. Just so you know because of your error, I will be unable to let poor little Cassandra speak to you. I was so hoping to let her hear your assuring voice ... she is so very afraid." "If you hurt one hair on her head ..." Jack yelled. "No need to get worked up, Mr. Connelly. She is unharmed for now. I will be in touch. You have three days to get the money." After the phone clicked off, Jack threw it against the wall. Lori heard the noise and ran into the room. She glanced down at the phone, relieved that he had not broken it. She jumped back, unsure of what was going on. "Jack," she called out tentatively. "It was him, Lori," he yelled. "That monster... if he hurts her..." Lori strode over to where Jack was standing, and put her had on his arm lightly. She was a little tentative to do so as she remembered what had happened the last time she did that to him. He then quickly whirled around and started to walk out of his room. "Get the Chief on the phone, tell him what is going on." he called back to her over his shoulder. "I'll go and try to get the money together." **** Cass sat in the living room after a filling breakfast, as Colin went outside to collect more firewood. The cabin itself was silent, but she could hear the sounds of the wilderness through the open window. The mountain air gave a slight chill through the blanket that she was wearing over her shoulders. From where Cass was sitting, she had a perfect view of Colin chopping firewood. His muscles rippled as he swung the ax into the log, and she could appreciate the view of his rear in his tight jeans. She let out a giggle at the fact that she was practically drooling over him like a young school girl. Cass wondered for a second if Colin had a wife or girlfriend. She had never seen one around when he was working for her family. He also didn't mention one to her when he was explaining things to her. Then again it wasn't really something that had anything to what he told her. What did it matter if he was taken? She felt foolish as she had almost gotten jealous over someone who might not even exist. At that time Colin walked in with a pile of firewood in his arms. He made a few more trips. When he was finished he shut the door behind him, and wiped the sweat from his brow. He stood in the living room for a few minutes, almost uncertain. "I think I need a shower, but I am worried that, uh maybe... you won't be okay." He stumbled over the words, wanting to trust her, but unsure of the current situation between them. She smiled slightly. "I am crippled, consider yourself lucky this time, Colin." He gave her a full sigh of relief. "You won't have to chain me to the shower curtain rod this time," she said with a laugh. The sound was musical to his ears. He stared at her intently, whatever it was between them making them both uncomfortable given the circumstances. With a nervous laugh he walked down the hall, with a promise to talk when he got out of the shower. **** Though it was only 15 minutes, try as she might Cass couldn't keep her eyes open. As she fell asleep she was again thinking back to when Colin had kissed her. She fell asleep, only to dream in further detail her desire for him. She was fast asleep as he returned to the living room. His dark hair was still wet from the shower, and he was wearing a fresh pair of jeans and sweatshirt. Colin smiled down at her sleeping form, thinking that she looked like an angel. Her golden blonde tresses were spread out on the couch pillow behind her like a halo. Her dark lashes lay gently against her the golden skin of her cheeks, and her lush full lips were slightly parted. He stared at her, and as if he were in a trance he leaned over and brushed his lips softly over hers. At that point he was kneeling on the floor next to the couch. He raised his head slightly from her face. Her eyelids started to flutter, and then open drowsily. Her eyes opened wider. Her blue eyes looked like liquid pools of desire after her passionate dreams. Her lips parted further, and the tip of her tongue darted out as if she were trying to taste him on her lips. She then brought her arms out from under the blanket, and put them behind him, pulling his head beck down to hers. Colin needed no further encouragement than that. He kissed her lips hard almost bruising them. Her hand was still behind his head, and she running her fingers through the end of his hair. She moaned in frustration as he pulled his lips from hers, only to have his lips start to nuzzle and kiss the side of her neck. His hot kisses trailed up the side of her neck towards her ear. He moved her hair out of the way for easier access. Cass gasped as she he reached her ear, blowing slightly. He then returned to her lips, and nudged them open with his probing tongue. She took his tongue in her mouth and felt it mating against hers. Over and over his tongue plunged deep in her mouth in a rhythm that drove her wild. His assault caused a wetness to start forming between her thighs. When he felt like he could take no more, Colin abruptly stood up. She looked up at him with confusion in her eyes, as she could hear his ragged breath. He was trying to calm himself. "What's wrong, Colin?" she asked when she was finally brave enough to venture a question. Guilt was starting to set in as she thought about what she had encouraged. Oh God, she thought to herself, what if he is married... what about Dave? What the hell was she thinking? Colin looked down and saw the confusion fade from her eyes, and guilt take over. She lowered her head. "I'm sorry, Cass," he said, raking his had through his dark hair. He then went and sat down on the recliner. "What a monster you must think I am? First I kidnap you, and then cause you to get hurt. Then I expect all to be forgiven when I tell you the truth." He then put his elbows on his thighs and put his face down into his hands. That is what I should be thinking, Cass thought to herself, but I can only think of how badly I want to feel him kiss me again. She shook her head, as if trying to get the thoughts to leave her head, and then sat up on the couch, facing him. "I think we need to have this talk that we have been avoiding since last night," she said softly. "What you did was wrong, but in a sense I understand your reasoning, and I find it honorable that you would risk everything for someone. I can't say that I forgive you for bringing me here, as there may have been other ways to solve the problem." Colin sat up, and thought about what she had said. "I am glad to hear that you have some understanding towards my reasoning for going through with this. As for your forgiveness, I hope to receive it some day." She started to say something, but he held up his hand, wanting to say something to ease her mind. "Desperation is a scary feeling, and the moment I heard about Lily's car accident on the news, that is all I have felt. I know that there were other options, but there is something that you don't understand. In your life, you have someone to take care of you, to shelter you from the wicked ways of the world. You rarely see what people are capable of doing." His eyes filled with sadness, as he recalled the brutal slaying of his parents. "I left out a small part of the story. You see, my parents didn't just die, they were murdered. They were murdered by a man far more desperate than I could've imagined. This man who was so desperate to see his children, that he shot my parents and stole their car. Just to drive to the foster home that his children were at, and killing himself after seeing them one last time." Colin looked at Cass, and saw that her eyes were wide with horror. She had remembered hearing about that, even though she was only a kid at that time. She remembered it because her father had made her ride to and from school with a driver and a guard instead of riding the bus with the other children after that had happened. She could see the raw anguish on his face as he continued. "I had no idea what Rich was capable of until he put her in the hospital. He will kill her, and you, if he doesn't get what he wants. Lily has filed for divorce, and is in the process of pressing charges against him. The police are very slow to investigate, but it is only a matter of time before they figure it out. There is that, and the fact that I had heard through Lily that his business was not doing well due to some illegal activity of his part. At this point what does he have to lose?" "So really, if you hadn't gone along with his plan, it would be him up here with me right now instead of you?" she asked. "Yes," he answered gravely, "Either way he would've done it, but I believe that he would've done far more harm to you and Lily, even if he got the money." Cass shivered thinking of what could've happened if he had refused. "I would like to apologize more for how I treated you before until we got to the cabin," he said quietly. "Rich is a slimy person, but he is methodical in his planning. I had to make sure that everything looked like a normal kidnapping. I am not sure if he followed us up here, but he likes to keep an eye on things. Lily had seen him following her on more than one occasion. Luckily we would hear anything that drove this way." Cass put her head back against the couch, and sat thinking for a while. She was still worried about the situation, but now worried even more about her father and her aunt. What if Rich did something to them if Jack couldn't come up with the money? She didn't really want to sympathize with the situation considering what she had been through. She also realized that it might be safer to stay where she was for the time being. "When is Rich going to ask my dad for a ransom?" Cass asked quietly. "He was supposed to call the night I took you, and then give your father a week to come up with it. We have been up here for about 2 days, so we have about 2 to 3 more days to go. I am supposed to drive down and meet him at the highway at 8am of the 5th day." Colin stared at her hard and then said, "If you want me to walk you down the mountain I will. Hell, I'll even carry you. If so, I cannot guarantee what will happen after that." "How do you know what will happen now, if we remain up here?" she demanded of him. "Who knows, maybe he has already killed them all, and now he is coming after us." She started to get hysterical, and then broke down into sobs. Cass cried for her family, and she cried for Colin and Lily knowing that pain filled the majority of her life. She cried for herself, in fear of doing the wrong thing. Colin sat next to her on the couch, and wrapped his arms around her, rocking her like a child. "I can't say what he will do Cass," he murmured. "But I can say this: his is after the money and the escape, and probably having me take the fall. If he kills anyone, then that points the finger back at him. I am holding onto that thought." He continued to rock her and gently rub her back as her sobs subsided. Cass stayed in his embrace, seeking the comfort that he offered. She knew that she had no choice, and she grasped onto the same glimmer of hope that he did. He stopped rubbing her back as she mumbled something into his shoulder. She pulled her head up and looked into his eyes as if searching his soul for the answers. "I forgive you," she whispered, "and I will stay." At that, he pulled her into a fierce hug. He got up to run a bath for her, not knowing what else to do at the moment to ease her mind. **** At that same time, the front door bell of Colin's house rang. Lily got up quickly and ran to the door, hoping that it was her brother. She had not heard from him in over 2 days, and was really starting to worry. She reached the door and groaned in dismay as she saw through the peephole that it was Rich standing at the other side. "Lily, I know you are in there," he said as he put his face right up to the peephole, causing her to gasp and jump away from the door in fear. He laughed at her. "C'mon, Lily, I just want to talk." "Go away!" she yelled. "Colin will be home any minute and he will be mad if you're here." That comment caused Rich to laugh even harder. "Oh, I am not worried about your dear brother catching me on his front porch. I am sure he is far too busy to look after his deranged sister." Lily said nothing, but stood staring at the door in fear as tears rolled down her cheeks. "I just wanted to tell you that I might give you what you want most, honey. You know, a d-i-v-o-r-c-e," he said with another laugh. She finally shook herself out of her daze and ran to grab the phone. "If you don't leave I will call the police," she yelled at him, her voice shaking. He frowned. He did not need the police over here at that particular time, not when he was so close to getting what he wanted. A new life! No wife, no failing business with angry investors. Rich could hardly wait. He just couldn't resist terrorizing her one last time. That's what she had turned into, a neurotic, deranged wife, who pushed his buttons too often, that he couldn't control himself. It was all her fault that he was even in this predicament. His smile returned at the thought that he was so close to escaping all this. "I'm leaving." he said, "maybe for good as long as everything goes to plan." He then turned and walked away to his car. Lily waited until she saw him drive away before slumping against the door, still frightened, but also perplexed at his last comment. **** After Cass took her bath, she and Colin sat in the living room talking, trying to fill up the time until they could leave. They talked about their lives, and their childhood. Then the talk turned to what they would do in a few days. Colin was reluctant to talk about it with her, as he didn't want her to get hurt. "You listen to me, Colin," she said angrily, "You got me into this, but I am not going to let any harm come to me or my father. I'll do whatever it takes to keep us safe. We have already seen what your plan was to keep people safe." He winced slightly from the harshness of her words, but stayed firm in not wanting her to risk her life. "You can't just run out there and fight him, Cass. You have no idea what you are up against. He doesn't care about you. You are just a means to his end, and if you cause him an obstacle he will do whatever it takes to remove you," he yelled. Her blue eyes flashed angrily, and she stood up, immediately collapsing when she put all of her weight on her injured ankle. He got up and scooped her up in his arms. He could feel her shaking, and he didn't know if it was from the cold or her anger. He assumed that it was the latter. She started to struggle and yelling at him to put her down. He held her close to his as he sat down on the couch with her still in his arms. After a few seconds she settled down, and looked up at him with tears shining in the corners of her eyes. They looked at each other for a few moments before he finally spoke. Cass's Capture Ch. 05 "I told you that I wouldn't let something happen to you, and I was serious," he said intently. "I don't think I could bear it." She closed her eyes, and he couldn't resist leaning down and brushing his lips over first her right, and then her left eyelid. She drew in her breath. "Why do you care so much what happens to me, Colin?" Cass asked. His face burned, as he knew that he couldn't lie to her now, not so soon after he had gained her trust. "I don't know what it is about you, Cass. When I went to first check you out after Rich told me that you were the target, I was almost frozen to the spot. Not just by your beauty, and believe me you are a goddess." She blushed at his compliment. He continued "It was everything about you. The way you walked, the way you talked, the way that you would only let that asshole Dave so close, before you pushed him away. At first I had thought that you were a tease. I had heard Dave complain about it enough, but now I realize that maybe there is a reason that you kept him at bay." Cass looked up sharply when he mentioned Dave, and then looked away after he was done talking. He then reached over and lightly grasped her chin, bringing her face around to look at him.. He stared intently into her eyes as he asked her "You don't really love him, do you? He isn't the one." She looked down before dragging her eyes back to his, but he could see in their depths that he was right. Cass was almost mad at herself, because she knew that her eyes had betrayed what she was thinking. He was right about Dave. She had never been really sure of him, but he had always persisted and made her feel guilty for denying him. Now, after even just the desire she had felt for Colin, if not more, she knew that Dave was not the one for her. She then shook her head as if she were clearing the thoughts out and glared at him. "Fine, I'll give you that one," she snapped as he laughed. She looked away indignantly. He again brought her face around to his, and said softly to her "I am glad", and then brought his lips down on hers. His tongue slipped out and traced her lips, and then parted her lips before thrusting inside. Cass felt herself kissing him back earnestly. Encouraged by her passion, Colin brought his hand down the side of her face in a feather-light caress. He then slid his hand down her side to the bottom of her sweater. He slipped his hand under her sweater and brought them up to her plump breast. She moaned as his fingers traced the areola around her nipple, deliberately avoiding the spot that would drive her wild. He continued to caress her breasts, and then finally gently squeezed her taught nipples. She started to squirm. She pulled his lower lip into her mouth and bit down slightly. Even though it didn't hurt him, the small bite brought his slightly back to reality. To her protest he pulled his hand out of her shirt and stopped kissing her. "If we don't stop now I am not going to be able to stop, Cass" he told her, his breath slightly ragged. "I don't want you to stop," she replied in a husky voice. He groaned as he stood up with her still in his arms and strode to the bedroom. Desire filled both of their veins, and the excitement and the sexual tension that had flowed from them for the past few days, even from the first time they met, crackled between them. He placed her on the bed and pulled off his sweatshirt. He looked at her, sprawled across the bed, her hair mused and her lips swollen from their kisses. It was her eyes that made him hungrier for her. They were bright and alive and filled with desire. He knew that he wouldn't be able to hold back for any reason. Colin climbed onto the bed, and straddled her hips. He reached for the bottom of Cass' sweatshirt and pulled it over her head. He gazed down at her breasts in appreciation. Her chest was moving up and down from her excited breathing, and her nipples were still erect from their earlier pleasure. He leaned over and took one of her nipples into his mouth. At first he just barely licked the tip and the area surrounding it, and then pulled the whole nipple into his mouth. He turned his face to the other one, giving it the same attention as the first. He then lifted his mouth from her breasts and started to trail light kisses up to her lips and ravaged he with his mouth. He pulled her up slightly towards him. (T)he feeling of his chest against hers sent tingles through her body. He let her fall gently to the bed, and then reached into the waistband of her sweatpants, and then pulled them and her underwear off in one swoop. He stood up again so that he could take in her beautiful body with his eyes. Her skin was golden and smooth all over her body, from her head to her toes. He then unbuckled his jeans and took off his pants. He looked down at her and noticed that there were goose bumps covering her skin, and she had a slightly worried look in her eyes. He lay down beside her, and propped up on his elbow. "What's the matter, Cass?" he asked, concerned. "I have never done this before," she whispered. He stroked the side of her face. "I promise that it will only hurt for a moment, love." "It's not that. I am worried that I won't please you," she stammered. He pulled her into his arms. "You will please me, Cass. Just looking at you pleases me. Everything about you pleases me." She looked up at him hopefully. Desire started to overtake her again as his hand continued to caress her cheek. She pulled him down to her and said, "Make love to me, Colin." Colin needed no more encouragement. He placed his lips over hers, and slipped his tongue inside her mouth, tasting her sweetness. His hands returned to her breasts, followed by his mouth. He then leaned back again on his elbow, and brought his hand down her stomach between her thighs. She spread her legs, and he could feel that she was smooth even there. Smooth, and beginning to get very wet. He slipped one finger in between her outer lips, and found the button that would send her over the edge. He lightly rubbed is finger tip over her clit, until she was moaning and grinding against his hand. When she was moments away from climax he brought his hand down and pushed one finger into her tight passage. He slid first one finger in and out and then two as she moaned. Cass could feel the passion burning deep inside, her body begging for release. Her hands started clenching the sheets as he brought his finger back to her engorged clit. He started to rub it furiously as he positioned his body over hers. Colin pulled his hand away and spread her legs even further. She watched him as he brought his thick cock towards her. She could feel the head of his cock pressing against her slick opening. She gasped as she felt him slip inside her, and then stop at the barrier of her virginity. Her body tensed and she gritted her teeth in anticipation for the pain to come. Knowing that she was a little afraid of the pain, Colin brought his hand back to her clit, and started to rub it as he inched further into her tight passage. She cried out as he broke through. He stilled inside of her and continued to rub her clit, drawing her attention from the pain. After a minute, the pain started to subside as desire took over. Cass started to move her body against his, and he started to move inside her. Colin thrust deeper inside, first slowly and then as she dug her nails into him, he started to pound into her. He relished in the feeling of her hot wet pussy. Cass started to moan as she came closer and closer to an orgasm. He felt her getting closer, and started to pound faster. He felt her walls start to spasm around him, and knew that she was coming. She cried out in ecstasy, and that was all it took to send Colin over the edge. He thrust hard a few more times, and then cried out, spilling his seed into her. He felt like her pussy was like a vise, squeezing out every last drop. Colin then leaned over her, bracing his weight on his elbows. They were both panting after the exertion, their bodies glistening with sweat. Cass looked up at him, her eyes filled with the pleasure he had given to her. "Did I please you?" she asked innocently. "As if I even need to answer that?" he replied with a grin. "You more than pleased me, babe." ********************** I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. It looks like there will be 1 or 2 more chapters. I am also working on a standalone that coorespondes with this story, and a few other sequels. Don't forget to vote! Cass's Capture Ch. 06 **Sorry that this has taken so long to post, things are pretty crazy for me right now! Please excuse any typos, etc. This is just a first draft of the story. Enjoy!** The morning light streamed in through the small bedroom window as Cass woke up. She yawned and stretched feeling thoroughly satisfied. A small smile played on her lips as she thought back to the night before. Over and over he had taken her, and every time was like a different experience. Colin had taken her to heights that she had never experienced and shown her more pleasure than she had ever imagined. She looked over at him while he slept, and as she was watching him he slowly opened his eyes. He grinned playfully when he saw her. Cass went to stand, marveling over how much better her ankle felt today, and started to walk out of the room. "Hey, sexy woman," he called after her, "Where is my breakfast in bed. I could use a bite of that-" "Shower," she replied, cutting him off. Her face was bright red, not sure how to handle the "morning after" routine. "Mmmmm... shower. Thanks for the invite." Cass giggled and ran the short distance to the shower with Colin close at her heels. She got into the bathroom and quickly turned on the shower. As steam started to fill the small room Colin stood behind Cass and started to nibble on her neck. She let out a small moan of delight. She started to pull away, and he quickly grabbed her arm and turned her around. With a small growl in the back of his throat her crushed her slim body to his and brought his lips to hers. He kissed her deeply and when he pulled his head back they were both gasping for breath. "We are never going to get in the shower that way, Colin," she exclaimed. He pretended to ponder the though. "Hmmm... going back to bed for the day might not be a bad idea." Colin laughed at the exasperated look on her face, and led her into the warm shower. They got in so that Cass' back was to the spray of the shower and Colin was facing her. He grabbed the soap and washcloth and started to rub them over her body. He caressed and cleaned every spot, and she again felt the desire take over her body. Brazenly she pushed his hands away and pulled him close until her soapy slick body was against his. She grabbed the soap from him and then started rubbing it and her hands all over his muscular body. Cass rubbed all over until she reached his manhood, which was at that time at full attention. She proceeded to lower herself down until she was on her knees. She positioned herself right in front of his hardened cock and tentatively licked the tip. When she looked up at him Colin could see that her eyes were full of uncertainty. He reached down and gently brushed her wet hair out of her eyes. He then nodded and smiled in encouragement. That seemed to be all the encouragement that she needed. She reached up and grasped her hand around his hardness and guided it towards her open mouth. At first she was still a little unsure in her movements, but then she started to get the hang of the motions. Colin moaned in obvious pleasure as Cass took him all the way inside of her mouth. He reached down and pulled her head closer. Right as he was about to climax he pulled out of her mouth and took her hand and pulled her up so that she was standing up. He turned her around and gently guided her hands out so that she was propped up against the shower wall. He started nuzzling her neck, and reached down between her legs to caress her slick folds. When she started to moan he gently entered her from behind. The slickness of the soap on their skin caused no friction between their bodies, and soon Colin was pounding into her and his cock was hitting her in all the right spots. As soon as he felt Cass's muscles start to clench he increased the tempo as he brought his hand again between her legs and rubbed gently against her hardened nub. Immediately her body erupted into an intense orgasm. Soon Colin joined her in ecstasy, letting out a shout that seemed to echo off the walls in the small bathroom. Colin leaned against the wall and held Cass up against his chest. She had the feeling that if he let her go she would slump to the ground she was so spent. The stood like that for a while, and when they caught their breath Colin washed them both up quickly. When the water was turned off he stepped onto the floor mat outside of the shower and picked up a large towel. He helped her out of the shower, and then gently patted her down with the towel. When he was satisfied that she was dry he gave her the towel to dry her hair and quickly dried himself off. When they were both dry he gently picked her up in his arms and walked out of the bathroom back to the bedroom. ******* Lily woke up that same morning hoping to hear the sounds of Colin moving around in the room across the hall. The silence that crushed her hopes was almost maddening. Lily got out of bed and went through the normal motions of preparing for the day, though there really wasn't much to prepare for. She wasn't sure why the police was asking for her brother's whereabouts. She remembered the visit from Chief Matthews, though he was very vague to give her any information about the reason he was looking for Colin citing that he was unable to give any further information at that time. Lilly figured that the news was probably her best bet for figuring out what was going on. She knew that she couldn't just sit here and wait for news of Colin. What if something had happened to him? What if Rich had done something to him? She turned on the television and flipped through the channels until she came to one that was featuring the news. She sat through the normal stuff anxiously waiting for a sign of some real news. She continued to watch it, and started to doze off due to the very little sleep she got the night before. A sudden news announcement woke her up. "Breaking news!" the news anchor exclaimed. "Daughter of international shipping magnate Jack Connelly has been missing for three days after disappearing from a party three nights ago." The anchor went on to give a few details and show a picture of a beautiful young girl that appeared to be in her early twenties. "Now we go live to a press conference with Riverdale Police Chief Don Matthews," the anchor continued as the screen changed to a shot of the Police Chief surrounded by dozens of reporters. Lily felt the blood drain from her face as she saw that is was the same man who had questioned her about Colin. He proceeded to tell the crowd that they had a few leads, but they were particularly interested in finding the Connelly's chauffer. She had a sinking feeling that Colin was involved in this whole mess with the Connelly girl, and that for some reason her soon to be ex-husband knew what was going on. She couldn't really see Colin confiding to Rich anything, but something definitely was not right. She sat through the rest of the press conference as if in a daze until the sheriff held up a sketch of the chauffer, and it was an uncanny picture of Colin. Lily felt her blood run cold as she jumped up from the couch and shut the television off. She then started to pace throughout the living room, trying to figure out what to do. She stopped and ran down the hall to Colin's office. The office was neat and there wasn't a paper out of place. Lily wasn't sure where to start, but figured that the desk drawers were as good as any. She dug through the drawers in frenzy, pulling out papers and pulling out drawers. Finally she thought that she found something: a key hidden in the back of the bottom drawer. She stood looking at it for a while, trying to place what it went to. It was a small key, not something that went to a building. She started walking around the room and looking at the objects that cluttered the office. There were quite a bit of knickknacks, some antique and some modern looking, though nothing stood out as needing a key. Lily frantically started to pull down books and inspect knickknacks, having a feeling that what she was looking for was on the shelves of the office. She was in the process of sliding over a heavy brass globe when it fell over and she noticed that the base of the globe was a little bit wobbly and unscrewed. She quickly unscrewed it and sighed in relief when she saw that there was a little keyhole on the bottom. When she turned the key the globe split in half and two folded pieces of paper fell to the floor. Lily picked them up and read the first one, written in Colin's scrawling writing: "Dear Lily, If you are reading this something happened that I am not there to be able to explain. I wish that I could've been a better brother to you and protected you more against all the pain you have had to go through. I feel as though I must do what I have to do to make you safe again. Rich came to me with a way to get rid of him once and for all. I know that it is not right, what we have done, but right now I would make a bargain with the devil to get rid of him. If something was to happen to me, and you do not see me by Friday evening, please show the second paper to the police. It is our insurance. Love, Colin" By the end of the letter Lily could feel the tears running down her cheeks as she had a good idea of what Colin had done. She was ashamed that he felt that he had not done well enough for her, when against his advice, she had married Rich. She then opened the other piece of paper and gasped when she saw Rich's handwriting on the second note: "To Whom It May Concern, I, Richard Hatcher, hereby admit that any activities involving the kidnapping of Cassandra Connelly were entirely planned and executed by me only. Anyone else that may be involved are also a victim of my activities." It was signed and dated. For a minute Lily wondered if she should wait until Friday to bring the note to the police. It was only Wednesday. The first thing that she did was light the candle on Colin's bookshelf and burned all evidence of the first note from Colin. She knew in her heart and mind that Colin would never do something so desperate unless he felt that he had no choice. There was no way that he deserved to be brought down along with Rich. Lily finally decided that she had to do something. She had no idea where Colin was, but she had a feeling that Rich would lead her to him. She frantically went and threw on a sweater, jeans, and tennis shoes. She went and grabbed Colin's spare keys to his truck and was on her way. The drive to Rich's house was about fifteen minutes, and because it was early she had a feeling that he would still be at home. **** Lily was right, Rich was still home. He had also been watching the same news program that caused Lily to go searching for answers. He was fuming at the media and police coverage that this was getting. He reached for the prepaid cell phone that he had purchased just for the occasion and started to dial. "Hello?" said the voice on the other end. "That is strike two Mr. Connelly. I just saw your police chief buddy on the morning news. This time I will not let you off so easily. I am sure that Cassandra will be very disappointed in you..." "You son of a bitch!" Jack Connelly yelled at him "If you---" "I don't have time to listen to your empty threats," Rich said loudly, cutting of the other man's tirade. "I must go and spend some time with your lovely daughter, and tell her what a bad father you have been. Don't forget Jack, Five million, by Friday." Then he hung up, and started whistling as he got up to take a shower. **** Jack started his phone after the kidnapper hung up. He was furious beyond belief. Then again, some of what the lunatic said had sunk in. He felt like a "bad father". He had let down his daughter. He should've been protecting her. He could feel tears well up in the corner of his eyes. He then heard a noise and looked up. Lori had entered the room at some point without him realizing. He looked into her eyes and saw that they too were damp with tears. Both of them were still in what they had slept in, her a t shirt and cotton pants, and him flannel pajama bottoms. He then reached out and pulled her against his muscular body, and wrapped his arms around her shaking form. He too was devastated about the whole thing, but he could only think of how strong she had been for him, and how she must have held her grief inside in order to comfort him. Jack then gently pushed her shoulders so that she was standing in front of him. He brought his hand below her chin and raised her head and looked into her eyes. "Thank you," he began, hoarsely. "I don't know what I would do without you, Lori. You have been there for Cass, and you have been here for me. Especially now." She opened her mouth to say something, but the sudden swooping down of his lips against hers made her forget anything that she was going to say. Jack's hands fell to Lori's shoulders, and then moved further down caressing her back. Over and over again his mouth slanted over hers, as his hands reached her buttocks and he pulled her closer against his body. She gasped as she felt the evidence of his arousal. He then took that opportunity to plunge his tongue into her mouth. He groaned at the sweetness that he tasted there, and the way that her body felt pressed so tightly against his. Thoughts started to race through Lori's mind and warning lights started to flash. It seemed that what they were doing was for the wrong reasons, but it felt so right. She had thought about this for so long, and fantasized what it would be like to feel Jack want her. Though it seemed like it was the wrong time for them to be doing this, it was almost like the had to in order to give each other strength and comfort each other. She ran her hands up his bare chest and behind his neck, pulling him further towards her and deepening the kiss. At the same time Jack was feeling almost guilty about not being able to resist her, and he too wondered if he was doing this for the wrong reasons. During the years he had noticed her grow into a beautiful woman, and had admired her, but always from a distance. He didn't think that it was right to be lusting after his deceased wife's sister. Just when he thought maybe he should stop, she had put her arms around him, obliviously wanting this as much as he did. Soon Jack had maneuvered them over towards the bedroom wall, and when her back reached it he moved his hands under her t-shirt. His hands moved up over her stomach, taking the edge of the shirt with his hands. When he finally exposed her round globes of creamy flesh, he looked up at her with admiration in his eyes. "Who knew that was hiding there," he said with a slight chuckle, as he moved his hands over her breasts caressing the nipples and causing them to become erect. She smiled in response, but when Jack took one nipple into his mouth, she could do nothing more than moan in pleasure. She reached down and pulled the shirt up and over her head. He stood up and quickly pulled off his pajama pants, as Lori pulled of hers. Jack straightened up and took her hands into his as he once again looked into her eyes. "Do you really want to do this?" he asked in a whisper. "Yes," she replied. "I need to feel like everything is going to be okay." He nodded in agreement, and further pushed away the thoughts of the trauma that surrounded them. He too felt like this was something that would make everything seem okay for at least the duration of their lovemaking. He then led her over to the bed... **** When Lily reached the street that Rich's house was located on, she stopped at the corner as she saw his car backing slowly down the driveway. Her pulse started to race as she wondered if he had seen her. He backed out and then drove off in the opposite direction. Sighing in relief she waited until he was out of sight and then started to follow him. She had a feeling that he was going somewhere that might give a clue, as he would normally have driven in the direction of where she was parked to get to work. They drove out of town for about an hour when he finally turned off the highway. She made sure that she was at least a few cars behind him as she was following. When he turned off the highway she continued until the next turnout which was not that far ahead. She gasped as she realized where the turnoff led to: her grandfather's cabin on Kings Mountain. She pulled out her cell phone and quickly dialed 911. **** After their leisurely shower Cass and Colin were in the kitchen making something to eat when the sound of gravel crunching under car tires startled them both. Colin looked at the window and gasped when he recognized Rich's SUV. Priorities had changed for Colin, and he was no longer willing to let Rich harm anyone no matter the consequences. ******* ~I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter.
