Ashley and Megan were sitting back talking with the TV setting a dull soundtrack to the evening. Ashley, statuesque and 115 pounds with long brown hair and green eyes, was lounging in a pair of shorts and a tank top. Megan, however, was her polar opposite. She was all of 5 feet tall and 160 pounds with short blonde hair and brown eyes. She was sitting back in a pair of track pants and an Old Navy T-shirt, trying and failing to twirl her hair around her finger. "Can you believe that Kevin is hot over her?" Ashley said breaking into a wide smile "Not really, I always thought he was hot over you." Megan stated matter of factly. "Whatever!" Ashley threw a pillow at Megan. "Seriously. The boy does nothing but gush over you when you aren't around. God, I swear that you are on his pedestal." "What does that mean?" "You know, when you are so in 'love' with someone that they get put on your pedestal." Megan threw the pillow back at Ashley. "All I know, is that you could vomit on him, laugh in his face, then fuck his best friend and he would just smile like you let out a cute burp." Megan rolled her eyes. "Not even. I don't know anyone who wouldn't get grossed out by that!" Megan just rolled her eyes again and tried to focus on the TV. Truth is, her pedestal was occupied by none other then Kevin. He was 6 feet tall with bright blue eyes and short blonde hair. He was toned but not beefy and his smile could make any woman's knees buckle in a matter of seconds. "What are you thinking about?" Ashley asked. "Work," Megan said forcing a smile. "Bullshit." "What do you want me to say?" "I want the truth." "You can't handle the truth." Megan mocked, laughing hard. "Fuck you. I know more than you think." "Right." "You don't think I know. Come on Meg, it's so obvious." Ashley got up and sat down next to Megan on the couch. "I'm surprised Kevin doesn't." "What?" Megan stumbled on her words. "How?" "Duh! It's the only thing you seem to want to talk about, you become a giggling monster every time you see him, and your hands shake like a shack during an earthquake." Megan was unable to form words. "How long has it been?" Megan pressed her palms against her eyes and let out a deep breath. "Four years." "Holy shit! You've been holding onto it for that long?" Megan just nodded. "And nothing?" "He kissed me once but he was pretty trashed so I don't think he remembers." "Aw, honey! It's probably the cutest think I've ever heard!" Ashley wrapped Megan in a hug and knocked her over. "Dear Penthouse," A deep voice said from behind them. Megan and Ashley scrambled to their feet and looked into those bright blue eyes. "Don't let me stop you." Kevin crossed his arms and leaned back into the door. "Hey Kev," Megan said, trying to control her hands that were now shaking. "And just when I thought today was a bust." He broke out into a big grin. "The day isn't over yet," Ashley said, slapping his arm and walked into the kitchen. From the doorway, behind Kevin, Ashley pointed at him and gave Megan a stern look. Megan shot back with a look that could set off a war. Kevin looked at Ashley who smiled and wandered behind the fridge door. "What was that about?" "Nothing. Just a little argument we were having earlier." Megan smiled and felt the corners of her mouth shaking. "So, the day hasn't been great huh?" "Not even close." Kevin walked over and sat down on the couch. "It started off alright but then the boss called me into his office and then reamed me about some project that I wasn't even a part of." "That sucks." "Yeah, but that was icing compared to what happened when I got out of work." Megan sat down next to him and put her hand on his arm and then quickly removed it when she was shaking even worse. "I get to my car and it wouldn't start. I call a tow truck and they bring it to the auto place and then I find out that my starter is stripped." He sat up quickly and turned to Megan. "It's gonna cost me $300 to get it fixed." He then flopped back onto the couch and let out a heavy sigh. "Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?" Megan held her breath waiting for and answer. "Not really." Megan felt her heart drop an inch. "Oh, I was thinking maybe we'd get some drinks." Megan knew he would like this idea. Kevin would always have a drink after work if his day had been bad. "Ok, so one thing." Kevin looked over at her and smiled. "You always know what to do to make me feel better." He patted his hand on her leg and Megan thought she was going to fly off the couch. "What are friends for?" She forced a smile. "Did I hear drinks?" Ashley popped her head in from the kitchen. "Sure did," Kevin answered. "Where do we want to go?" "We can go to the pub." Megan looked at the clock. It read eight-thirty. "Friday night. Some of the guys should be there." "I knew you were good for something Meg." He smacked her leg and used it to push himself up from the couch. "I don't know about Meg, but I need to get ready. Give me half hour or so." Ashley ran to her room. This was her kind of thing. Getting dressed up and making heads turn. What Ashley didn't realize is that she can be wearing a muumuu and men would drool like buffoons. "I don't know Ash, you could go like that and we could drink for free all night." "Ha ha." She yelled from behind the closed door. "Do you need a ride to your house?" Megan asked. "No. Would you mind if I took your car to change and I'll come back and pick you two up?" "Yeah, that's fine. Just don't be too long. I don't want to stand in the living room ready while Ash decided to try on yet another outfit." "Half hour, I promise." Kevin crossed his heart and was out the door. Thirty minutes later, Kevin was back, and looking amazing. He had on a pair of nice fitting jeans and a long sleeve shirt. He had showered and smelled of soap and cologne. Megan was also ready. She was in a pair of jean that were slightly big, a t-shirt and a pair of tennis shoes. She had applied a little bit of mascara, blush and put some pomade in her hair. Ashley was dressed to the tees. Short white tennis skirt; black low-cut t-shirt and black high heels. Her makeup was perfect as was her hair. The three of them were out the door and at the pub in a matter of minutes. A few hours had passed and they were all feeling pretty relaxed at this point. They had been joined early on by eight or so men who were trying there hardest to get Ashley's attention. The DJ had been spinning good music for a while and a slow song came on. Kevin looked at Ashley and Megan and held out his hand. "Who want to dance?" He asked generally. "I will darling." Scott answered. Scott was one of Kevin's friends. "Not you dumbass. I meant one of the girls." Kevin looked over at Ashley who was batting her eyes at a buff man with dark features. He then looked over at Megan. "Meg, come on, I know you want to." "Sure, why not." They headed out to the dance floor and pressed closer to each other. The dance floor was full and it was all they could do to not dance on each other. For a while they just danced. Neither of them said a word. Finally Kevin spoke up. "What are you thinking about?" "Why does everyone keep asking me that?" "You just look so lost in thought." Megan was quiet for a moment while considering her options of answers. "You." She whispered. "Good thoughts?" "Yes." He leaned back to look into her eyes. Megan was looking down. "Hey." Megan looked up. Her heart felt like it was going to leap out of her chest. "You want to talk about it?" "Not really," she said with a laugh. "Meg you know you can talk to me about anything." "No, really, I can't." "Why not?" "Because I'm a chicken shit." Her hands started shaking. "Hey, it's alright. What ever you want to say, just say it." He just looked into her eyes, his hands tightening around hers. "You know I'm feeling kind of light headed, I think I'm gonna go home." Megan pulled herself away from him and prayed that her legs wouldn't give out while on her way to the table. "Megan! Wait!" Kevin yelled after her. She just kept on walking. Her house was only five or so blocks from the pub and the weather was nice enough to walk. As soon as she stepped outside, Megan finally felt like she could breathe again. Her mind kept replaying the dance and her heart kept screaming 'CHICKEN SHIT'. She heard voices around her and just kept walking until she felt someone grab her by the arm. She was about to start punching when she realized it was Kevin. Instead, she rolled her eyes, pulled her arm away, and kept walking. "Would you at least talk to me?" "No." "Why the hell not?" His voice was loud and angry. "Because I don't know how to!" Megan was yelling back. "I..I don't understand?" Stammering his words. "God!" Megan yelled with her balled fists in the air. Kevin just stood there. "I love you. Ok. Is that what you want to hear?" He just stood there as she walked away. Megan made it to her house without Kevin. She walked in, went straight to her room, and collapsed onto her bed and let the tears flow. She didn't hear the key in the door, or the footsteps or her bedroom door open. She didn't know how long they were there. Standing. Watching. Can This Be Happening? Ch. 02 "Will you please just talk to me?" The voice was low and almost a whisper. Meg knew instantly who it was. "I don't know what to say." She said not daring to look Kevin in the eyes. "Something. Anything." "Something. Anything." "Not funny." His tone was dry and serious. Still, Meg said nothing. "You don't have anything to say after what you said out on the street." "It's because of what I blurted out that..." Megan paused. She finally turned towards him. Dark rings of mascara were framing her brown eyes and had run slightly down her cherub cheeks. "Could I pause, rewind, and take it back?" She half smiled and dropped her head back against the pillow. "It doesn't work that way." Kevin uncrossed his arms and looked down at the floor as he shuffled his feet around. "And, even if you could, I wouldn't want you too." "Why?" He just stood there silent with his eyes locked on hers. "Come on Kev. You want answers, well so do I!" Her voice was loud and pungent. She could see, even as she spoke the words, that they were hitting him hard. Nothing. "That's what I thought. That's why I never told you! Because I would get that look." His face showed question. "That, gee thanks and all but truth is, you aren't my type. You aren't thin enough, you aren't tall enough, and you aren't fucking pretty enough!" "Hold on!!!" He shouted back. "I have never said anything like that! Don't you..." Megan cut him off. "You didn't have to." Her voice was almost silent. In a whisper that broke Kevin's heart, she said. "It's in your eyes." Tears were welling up in her eyes. "No matter what kind of bullshit comes out of your mouth, your eyes never lie." She pushed herself off the bed and walked past him. Megan walked through the living room and to the front door. With slow, deliberate movements, she pulled the door open. Without a word, Kevin walked to the door. He stopped just before he left and said "Bye Meg." It had been almost a month and not a word. Megan's life had become a boring routine. She got up, went to work, came home and went straight to her room. Eating had become a low priority and because of that she had lost about fifteen pounds. Her clothes weren't fitting right but she didn't care. Her heart was shattered and nothing mattered. Ashley popped her head into Megan's room and smiled. It was a hazy Saturday afternoon and Meg hadn't left her room. Her TV was on the Spanish channel and a bright red haired woman was pointing her finger and yelling at a ragged looking man. "What's this about?" Ashley asked and sat at the edge of Megan's bed. "I don't know." Her face was aged and shallow looking. Ashley looked around Meg's room and let out a sigh. "Let's do something today." She smiled wide and slowly it faded into nothing. "I really don't feel like it." "Oh, come on! You can't just lock yourself up in here for the rest of your life. You have to get past him! Move on woman!" She jumped off the bed and hurled her fist in the air. Megan couldn't help but laugh. "You are crazy." "I know but that's why you love me." Ashley batted her eyelashes. "Come on. Let's get up," Ashley took a deep breathe in and made a sour face, "take a shower and get something to eat." "Thanks." She was dry and sarcastic. "You are skin and bones. Get your ass out of bed and we are going to get something to eat." Ashley pulled the covers back from Megan and slapped her thigh playfully. Megan rolled her eyes. "I can't talk you out of this, can I?" "Nope." Megan started the water for her shower and stepped in. The hot water felt like pins in her back but she soon adjusted. She stood directly under the showerhead and let the water cascade over her body. Grabbing the soap, she lathered her hands and ran them over her breasts and shoulders. Megan finally realized that she had thinned out a little. Her breasts, normally a 38D, had reduced to what she would guess is about a 36C. As her hand skimmed her collarbone, she felt the bone was prominent, where there once was just a padding of fat. In slow deliberate circles, she inched her hands to her stomach. What was once a pouch of jiggle was now a small hill. Her hips had defined to flow into her narrow waistline and only small remnants of what used to love handles remained. Meg stepped out of the shower and toweled off. Looking in the mirror, which she hadn't done since that one night, she saw that her face had slimmed and her jawbone was now recognizable. "I look like shit." She said out loud. She ran her ring finger along the circles that had formed under her eyes. She ran the towel through her hair and remembered that she missed her scheduled haircut. It was now looking more like a fun and flirty style and not the short edgy look she admired for so long. She wrapped the towel around her body and walked to her room. Ashley was standing at the closet looking through her clothes. "We are going shopping too." Ashley said. "I don't want to go shopping." Megan ran a brush through her hair. "Too bad. None of these clothes will fit you anymore and you need something cute to wear." "For what? I have no one to impress." Megan opened her underwear drawer and pulled out a pair of pink and white-stripped boy cut panties. She took a step and her underwear started to slide down her hips. "I could use new underwear." She let out a slight laugh. Ashley looked over at her and laughed as well. "Definitely." Megan pulled on a pair of track pants and pulled the drawstring tight. She threw on a bra that matched the panties and tightened it as far as it would go. With a t-shirt and a pair of tennis shoes, she was all set to go. They arrived at the mall fifteen minutes later and Ashley led her straight to Express. Megan must have tried on at least twenty outfits before she found one that both she and Ashley could agree on. It was a pair of low cut very fitting jeans, an off-the-shoulder lightweight teal shirt with some beading on the top, and a bra and underwear set. They next set off to find a pair of shoes. Ashley wanted a high-heeled black-strapped things and Megan wanted a new pair of tennis shoes. Again, they compromised. She ended up with a cute pair of white low-heeled sandals. Ash made her go into the nearest bathroom and change into the things they had purchased. Megan came out feeling slightly uncomfortable but the look on Ashley's face was worth it. She looked like a proud mom. Then she put her hand on her hip and looked Megan up and down. "What?" "It's missing something." "Like what? A fur coat?" "Ha ha! No," she paused, "I know! Make-up." They then went into the nearest department store at sat down at the make-up counter. A woman walked up and looked at Ashley. They started to talk about what Megan needed and didn't think to ask Megan. Thirty minutes later, Megan had a flawless complexion and the under eye circles were gone. It was subtle but flattering. The woman, who was later identified as Claire, grabbed the mirror and held it up for Megan. For a moment both the women held their breath. Megan smiled. "I look beautiful." Ashley started to clap and jump up and down. Claire just smiled. They walked out of the store with every piece of make-up Claire used. Half-hour later, they were sitting at a table at TGI Fridays. Megan was looking at all the bags that were crammed into the booth with them. Ashley had convinced her to get a few more things from Express and Megan convinced Ashley that she did need another pair of tennis shoes. They had put in their food orders and Megan decided to start eating healthier to try and keep the shape she's started to like. Their salads had just arrived when Ashley broke the laughter they had been sharing and looked like she was going to drop dead. "You alright Ash?" Megan waved her hand in front of her face. "Hey." Megan heard form behind her. She didn't have to turn around. She brought her fingertips to the top of her forehead and pressed. "Hello Kevin." He walked so he was standing where he could see both of them. Megan didn't look up. She just picked up her fork and starting moving around the lettuce in her salad. "How have you been?" "Fine" LIAR LIAR! My head screamed. "Good." He stood and lightly was drumming his fingers on the table. "Well, um, I have friends waiting but I just thought I would come over and say hi." He stood there, hoping for something from Megan. Nothing. "It was nice to see you Kev." Ashley said and patted his arm. "You too." He let out a sigh. "It was nice to see you too Meg." Megan just nodded her head. With that, he just walked away. Megan looked up at Ashley. Tears were filling her eyes. Ashley grabbed the hand that was pushing the lettuce around. Then, she said the one thing that made Megan's heart break more then it already had. "He looked horrible Meg." Megan just burst into tears. From across the room, Kevin watched as Megan's head fell and her shoulders shook. He knew she was crying. He knew that he was the reason. Can This Be Happening? Ch. 03 Another month had passed and Megan's life had started to regain an ounce of normalcy. Work was going better and Megan had started to smile more. She thought about Kevin about once every minute but this time she didn't let it stop her from life. "Hey you." Ashley said, popping her head into Megan's room. "Hey." "So, have you thought about what you're going to wear to Rick and Stacey's wedding yet?" "Not really. I don't even know if I'm going. A wedding isn't exactly something I'm super excited about going to." "Come on! It'll be fun!" Ashley plopped down onto Megan's bed. "Plus, Stacey says that Rick has a few really hot friends." Megan laughed and flopped back onto her bed. "I think I'm just going to stay home and rent some movies." "If you think I am going to let you stay home and watch 'Pride & Prejudice' one more time, you are surely mistaken. We are going to go to this wedding and I am going to get you laid!" Ashley leaped off the bed and jabbed her fists to her hips. "Not this again." Megan rolled her eyes and buried her head into her pillow. "Ashley," she said into the pillow, "I love you and all but you really need to find another mission in life." "But I like this one." She responded with a childish innocence across her face. "UGH! Fine!" "Yippee!" Ashley yelled and jumped on top of Megan. The week before the wedding went quickly. The nuptials were to take place Saturday at six pm at the home of Stacey's parents. Her father was a multi-millionaire from striking while the iron was hot in the real estate world. There home, worth in the ballpark of $10 million, was the Buckingham Palace of the East coast. Settled quaintly in the Hampton's, the home was surrounded but two things, trees and water. Megan stood in front of her mirror and examined the dress she was wearing. It was a knee length red strapless Versace gown. It cost a whole months salary but Ashley said it would be worth it. As Megan checked all the angles of her body, she had to admit that maybe Ashley was right. The top hugged her breasts and pulled in to accentuate her waistline. There was a slit up the right side that stopped at about mid thigh. "Are you sure I don't look like a slut." She asked Ashley. "You look gorgeous." Ashley yelled from her bedroom. "Do you have those shoes?" She asked when entering Ashley's room. Megan stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Ashley standing there. She was wearing a coral colored, halter style, floor length dress that was slightly faded in color throughout. With her thin frame, it gave her curves that weren't there before. "Wow." "You like?" She giggled and did a full turn. "I wont exist anymore when they see you." Megan said. "Whatever." Ashley handed Megan red high heels to go with the dress and also handed her a diamond pendant necklace. "I can't wear this." "Why not?" "It was your grandmother's necklace. I don't want to lose it or anything." "You won't and besides I'll be by your side all night. So if you lose it, it will also be on my head that I wasn't watching you close enough." Ashley stepped behind Megan and fastened the necklace. "Perfect." Another hour later and they were pulling into the drive of Pinoe Manor. A valet took their keys and they were ushered into the backyard. Most of the three hundred guests had already arrived and were mingling with each other. In the background there was a low hum of an orchestra playing a slow piece. Over to the left, about a hundred yards away, there was a dozen or so tents set up with a white see thru material covering each and flowing in the light sea breeze. Megan and Ashley saw a few people they knew and made their way over and started talking. "Excuse me," a man said over the speaker system. "If you could all be seated we are ready to get started." The guests started making their way to the seats that were fanned around the alter. Megan and Ashley took two seats near the back but right at the edge of the aisle. The orchestra started the Cannon in D and the ten bridesmaids started the procession down the aisle. Stacey finally settled in at the alter and took Rick's hand. "First of all, we want to thank everyone for joining us on this special day." The pastor started out with. "In life's journey, we all long for that one person who we feel completes us. Today is a culmination of that for Richard and Stacey. Both the bride and groom wanted to keep the ceremony short and sweet as they put it. So let's get started." Stacey's maid-of-honor took her bouquet and Rick took a deep breathe. "Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance. You have to be willing to take that chance to make it work. Do you Stacey take Rick...." Megan zoned out. Her thoughts were not on the nuptials that were taking place at that moment, they were on Kevin. She thought about it being them up there. Her in a Vera Wang dress and him in an Armani suite, wind blowing through her hair. She was smiling happily then felt an elbow in her side. "Hey, what are you thinking about?" Ashley whispered. "Nothing. Just zoned out." She whispered back. "You aren't thinking about Kevin again, are you?" "No. Of course not." Megan let out a deep breath and looked up at the happy couple. Rick was slipping the ring on Stacey's finger and smiling from ear to ear. "By the power vested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife." The audience clapped. "Richard, you may now kiss your bride." The audience didn't hold back. You could hear his friends yelling out and a few people in the front row whistling. Megan and Ashley clapped and stood as the new couple made there way down the aisle as man and wife. Half hour later Ashley and Megan were seated at their table inside the tents. Now Megan could see that inside the billowing tents were thousands of candles and flowers. Christmas lights draped from the top and cast a sky of stars on the shining dance floor. Megan felt like someone was staring at her and she looked around. The tents were all open to each other and with the volume of people; it could be coming from anywhere. Megan shook it off and looked down at the salad that was in front of her. Ashley was flirting with a young Mel Gibson look-a-like and giggling like a schoolgirl. Megan rolled her eyes and started moving the pieces of lettuce around on her plate. The couple had already been introduced and main courses were now being served. There was a lot of laughing going on and Megan couldn't be more of the opposite. Dinner was cleared and speeches were said and now the bride and groom were taking their first dance. Allison Krauss' 'When You Say Nothing At All' was beating a soft rhythm for them to dance to. "Now the bride and groom would like to invite all the other couple's onto the dance floor." The song ended and other couple's started filing on. Ashley stood and took Mel by the hand and they took a spot near the edge and were so close that you'd think they were glued together. Megan took a long sip of her wine and rubbed her neck. "Would you like to dance?" A male voice said from behind her. Megan turned and she dropped the wine glass in her hand. There he stood in all his glory. He was wearing a black suit and tie and it accentuated his broad shoulders well. "Um..." was all that she could muster up. "Please?" He said in a whisper. He didn't wait for an answer. He took her hand and pulled her to her feet. With Kevin's hand locked over Megan's, he led her to an empty spot on the floor and pulled her close to him. Whitney Huston's "Saving all my love for you" started playing and they just moved in slow circles. His hand rubbed softly up and down her back and her frigidness started to ease up. For a minute, neither said anything, just moving with the music. Finally Kevin broke the silence. "I'm sorry." Megan leaned her head against his chest. She pressed her eyes together to fight the tears that were forcing their way out. "It's just that when you told me, I wasn't expecting it. There were a million things that I could have said and I picked the wrong one." He pulled her into him closer. "I shouldn't have said it the way I did." "What other way would you have said it?" "I used to think of different ways that I would tell you. Your reaction was never what I would have imagined." "When someone springs something like that on you, it takes a bit to digest. I just needed time." Megan looked up into his blue eyes and let out a breath that she felt like she had been holding onto for years. "Time?" Was all she could muster up. "Yes, time." Kevin brought his hand up to her cheek and rubbed his thumb against her lips. He leaned down and softly pressed his lips to hers. Her hand went to his head and she stood on her toes. She wanted to get as close as she could and she felt like it wasn't enough. Kevin pulled away and looked into her eyes. "I didn't realize it until that night, but you gave me the worst case of butterflies. I always thought that it was Ashley," Megan stepped back, "but I was wrong." He took her hands in his. "You were the one. You are the one." Can This Be Happening? Ch. 04 The hours remaining of the wedding were a blur. Megan and Kevin didn't let go of each other for any period during the winding down of the festivities. Ashley had left with her look-a-like and made sure that Megan had a way home. Kevin swore to getting her home safely and so far, he'd done just that. "How about a cup of coffee and we talk for a little while?" Kevin asked as they sat in Megan's driveway. "Um, alright." Kevin hopped out of the car and practically ran to Megan's door. He opened it and offered his hand to Megan. They walked slowly to the front door and Megan couldn't seem to get her key in the lock. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably and Kevin let out a light laugh. "This isn't one bit funny." "Yes it is." He took the keys from her and unlocked the door. "It's funny that I never noticed your shaking hands before." Megan stepped inside and flipped on the light in the living room. Kevin set her keys on the table and she felt like everything was moving in slow motion. Kevin stepped closer to her and ran his fingers along her bare arms. "How about that coffee?" Megan walked to her kitchen and pulled the coffee and filter from the cabinet. Next thing she knew, she felt his warm hands run across her shoulders and down her arms. The warmth of his breath on her neck caused her to shiver. His lips softly grazed her exposed skin. Megan dropped her head to the side to give him more room. His tongue traced circles up her neck and his lips locked around her earlobe. Megan grabbed the counter and braced herself from the dizziness she was feeling. Megan moved from the counter and to the sink. She turned the cold water knob and filled the pot. She let out a loud sigh and Kevin laughed under his breath. Megan turned and smiled. Kevin had unbuttoned his shirt and his tie was dangling freely around his neck. Megan felt her temperature start to rise and knew her cheeks were now the same color of her dress. Kevin smiled out of the side of his mouth and Megan felt a wetness starting to form between her legs. She side stepped around him and poured the water into the top of the coffee pot. Kevin just watched as the muscles in her arm flexed to hold the pot full of water and then relax when she put the pot under the spout. He shifted his stance and adjusted the growing erection in his pants. Megan turned to face Kevin and looked up into his eyes. In the past years, they had been this close and would see a playfulness in his eyes, but now it was pure lust. Kevin lifted his right hand and ran his fingertips across her soft, pale skin. Megan's eyes instantly fell closed and her hand reached to meet his. She tilted her head to absorb his touch into every pore. His left hand went instinctively to her waist and pulled her closer to him. With all the strength Megan had, she pulled herself away. She wanted him with every fiber of her being but there was a nagging in the back of her mind. "Would you excuse me for a minute? I need to get out of this dress and..." "I can do that for you." Kevin said in a low, 'I need sex now' kind of way. He pushed his weight against her and the counter. His lips encased her lips and Kevin wrapped her tightly to him. Megan moaned into his mouth and Kevin took the opportunity to slide his tongue into her mouth. Their tongues danced and Megan brought her hands between them. For a moment she thought about stopping but she wanted him more than she had wanted anything. She started to unbutton his shirt slowly making her way to the top of his pants. Her hands moved down and she pressed her hand against his hardened cock. Kevin let out a loud moan into her mouth and she smiled against him. Their lips broke apart and Kevin braced himself against the counter. Megan continued to rub his now fully hard cock and he began to breath harder. He rested his head against hers and his eyes drifted to meet her eyes. Kevin needed her to see what she was doing to him. She moved her hands up and unbuckled his belt. His eyes never left her. Once his belt was hanging open, she unbuttoned his pants and, ever so slowly, inched his zipper down. His pants fell to the floor and he stood there in his unbuttoned shirt and tie, suit jacket and blue boxers that did nothing to hide his excitement for Megan. "I need you right now." He said, almost too quickly. "Not here." "I don't care where." He brought his lips to her ear. "I need to feel you around me." Kevin pulled his pants up so he could he could walk and Megan took his hand. She led him through the living room and to her bedroom. Before she had time to say anything, Kevin's pants were back on the floor. He ran his fingers along her open chest and her eyes met his. Megan reached back and pulled down the zipper of her dress. She then reached up and pushed the jacket off his shoulders and pulled at his tie. "Don't do anything with that." He licked his lips and smiled. "We might need that later." Megan laughed and threw it next to his pants. He kicked off his shoes and threw his shirt on the pile. With nothing but boxer's on, he felt it wasn't fair. He reached over to her and ran his finger tips under the top of her dress. With a quick pull, the dress fell to the floor. Megan was standing there in a red thong that matched the color of her dress. "No bra?" "I can put one on if it would make you feel better." She said playfully. "Don't even think about it." He kissed her again. The heat rose in both of them. Megan wrapped her arms around his neck. He started to step forward and she followed. Her legs hit the bed and she felt his weight against her. Her body toppled backwards and he landed on top of her. Kevin broke the kiss and ran his hand along her body. His fingers traced the cup of her breast and Megan moaned. He moved his body down and wrapped his mouth around her nipple. He used his other hand to caress her other tit. Her hands ran carelessly across his head, subconsciously pushing him further down. He didn't argue and left a trail of kisses towards her mound. He wrapped his fingers in her underwear and pulled them down and off. Megan pulled her arms to her breasts, feeling overexposed, and Kevin pulled them back to the bed. She dropped her head to the side but before she could feel ashamed, she felt his fingers separating her. "Oooohhh..." He brought his mouth to her and started to lick her cunt. Megan started to breath harder and faster. With every quickened breath, he increased his pace. Suddenly an orgasm ripped through her. Her body went into spasms and Kevin locked his hands on her hips and kept licking her clean. His tongue found her clit and started to focus on it. "Oh god!" She yelled. Kevin smiled and brought two fingers to her entrance. He slowly pushed his fingers into her. A little at a time until he was full in her. He quickened his pace and pumped into her with all he had. Orgasm after orgasm washed over her. Kevin finally stopped and left another trail of kissed towards her mouth. He pressed his mouth to hers and let her taste her cum. Her eyes were lazily open and she looked at him. "Wow." "Is that all you have to say for yourself young lady?" Megan just nodded her head and smiled. He pressed his lips to her again and grazed his fingers along her cleavage. Suddenly they heard the front door slam shut. Megan sat up quickly and looked at Kevin. She grabbed her robe from the chair next to her bed and Kevin grabbed her wrist. "You aren't seriously going out there are you?" "I have to. She's upset but don't worry." She leaned down and kissed him. Pushing her tongue into his mouth. She ran her hand down to his boxers and grabbed a hold of his throbbing cock. "I'm not done with you yet. I'll be right back." Megan opened her bedroom door and Ashley was standing in the hallway. She had mascara running down her face and her eyes were all puffy. "What's the matter?" "That son of a bitch!" She screamed. "What? What happened?" "We went back to his place because I figured you'd come home with Kevin." "Which I did. He's in there." Megan pointed to her bedroom. "Well we were right in the middle of one of the best fucks of my life and his fucking wife walks into the room!" She walked into her room and threw her purse onto her bed. "HIS FUCKING WIFE!! Can you believe it!" "He wasn't wearing a wedding band." "I know. Well, she started screaming at him and then threw a lamp at me! Psycho bitch!" "Are you alright?" Megan started to look for blood. "I'm fine. I ducked out of the way and it smashed into the wall behind me." Ashley pulled off her dress and threw her shoes on her bed. "I got my shit out of there and left." She started to cry again. "I really thought he was a nice guy, you know." "Yeah." Megan sat down on the bed and Ash sat next to her. Before Megan realized it, she had been in Ashley's room for almost an hour. She excused herself and went back into her room where she found Kevin asleep in her bed. Snoring loudly. Well, read on and see what I decided. Also!! Thank you all for your feedback. It's made me feel very welcome here.*** * She sat softly on the edge of her bed. His blond lashes laying softly on his tanned cheeks. His chest rising and falling in measured breaths. He was deeply asleep. To wake him or not to wake him, that was the question. Alright, so it wasn't a hard question. He was lying in her bed wearing nothing but boxers and she was horny. Slowly, she started tracing her fingertips along his chest. Megan traced his nipples, her nails scraping the soft flesh. Kevin's breath hitches slightly and he moaned softly. A seductive smile curved Megan's lips. I can do this, she thought. She bent her head and traced the nipple with her tongue. She gripped his nipple with her teeth and sucked it into her mouth. She moved away slightly and blew a cool breath along the moistened skin. Kevin sucked in a startled breath and with the exhale a moan of pleasure. Megan glanced at his groin and saw that he was starting to get hard. Megan climbed up onto the bed and straddled his waist. Resting on her hands at the side of his head, she leaned down and whispered in his ear. "Don't you hate it when you fall asleep and haven't gotten off?" As she said the words, she rotated her hips in a circular motion against his cock, getting more erect as the seconds ticked by. She flicked out her tongue and traced the shell of his ear. Megan felt her breasts grow heavy as his fingers started up her thighs. Her breath came out in a whoosh and she felt him shiver. "I'm sorry I took so long. How about I help make up for lost time?" Kevin's fingers contracted against her ass. He pulled her soundly against his fully hard cock. "Oh, that is...so needed." She moaned and dropped her forehead against his. Megan saw that his eyes were open and he was watching her as he ground his penis against the most intimate of her flesh. He watched the way her breath hitched when the pressure was just right. The way her eyes drifted close when his head rubbed her entrance. And finally the way her nostrils flared and her breath quickened when his penis found contact with her clit. "I was going to suck your cock to wake you up but this works too." His hoarse male laughter was laced with lust. "I could pretend to be asleep if you'd like." "I feel like there should be an awkward moment here." Megan closed her eyes as color continued to flood her chest and neck. His penis rocking steadily against her clit. His hands went in between them and untied her robe. Pushing her up, he slid the robe off her shoulders and watched it fall against his thighs. Megan's skin flushed as she rotated her hips against his gentle thrusts. "I'm going to cum if you continue that." "I just want to make sure that you are as ready as I am." Megan took his hand and brought it to her pussy. She pushed his fingers through her folds and to her opening. He worked one long digit into her tight hole. "Oh baby, I'm already there." A second finger joined the first. "I need you now" she said on a choked breath. Megan moved off of him and threw her robe on the floor. Kevin rolled off the side of the bed. He stood, removing his boxers, and removed a condom from his pants, lying still on the floor. Sheathing his erection, Kevin Looked at Megan. She was kneeling on the bed. Kevin laced his fingers behind her neck and laid her down. Dragging his fingers along her neck then shoulders, he braced his weight on his elbows. He settled himself into the V of her body. Slowly, Kevin entered her. Megan's breath left her body and she felt like she started to float. A slow building rhythm started to flow. He pressed soft, intimate kisses along her mouth and jaw. He brushed his lips against her lips. Megan's small tongue darted out and flicked his lips. His motion stopped and his eyes glittered with lust. Kevin groaned in his throat and dropped a hard kiss on her mouth. His tongue pushing past her lips and doing to her mouth what he longed to do to her body. A hard, fast rhythm quickening their pulses. "Please," she moaned loudly as Kevin stayed stationary, his cock pulsing inside her. Her blood felt like it was boiling. "Please, what?" He replied. How can he joke at a time like this? She wondered. "Fuck me!" She locked eyes with him as he groaned from his chest. His hips moved of their own accord. He wrapped his hands around her shoulders and dropped his mouth to her once again. His tongue danced with hers in the same timing as his cock pounded her body. Her moans were swallowed by him. Her feet locked at the base of his spine and she lifted her hips to get him as deep as she could. Megan felt the first tidal wave come over her. She pulled her lips from him and yelled as the first orgasm washed over her. Another orgasm followed behind quickly. This one triggered by Kevin's orgasm. His cock swelled and hardened even more than she thought possible in the moment before he came. He groaned into her neck as he sought his release. Their bodies lay still joined intimately for the moments following their lovemaking. Megan's body pulsed against his deflating penis. Her mind raced with a single thought. She let out a heavy sigh. Kevin leaned up to look her in the eyes. "What was that about?" He pushed the hair out of her eyes and lightly kissed her lips. Megan's eyes drifted close for a second. She opened them and looked at him. "That was so much better in my head." She started laughing and he looked at her. His eyes widened in shock. "I'm just kidding. I had to break whatever thought was going on in that head of yours." "I wasn't thinking anything." "Bullshit. I can see the wheels turning." "Okay, so maybe I was." He pulled his flaccid cock from her and discarded the condom into the trash can. "Mind sharing it with the jury?" Megan stood and went into the bathroom just outside her bedroom. She walked back into the room and found Kevin getting dressed. "Or maybe share why you're putting your clothes back on?" "I thought you wanted me to go." He stopped with his pants up around his right leg. "Where the hell did you come up with that?" Megan grabbed her robe and wrapped it around herself. He just shrugged his shoulder. Megan nodded her head. A single tear ran down her cheek. "Goodbye Kevin." Megan took one step out of her room and Kevin grabbed her arm. She turned her head and found his eyes were mad. "Don't get mad at me for being able to read you." "I fucking hate when you do that!" Kevin yelled. "Let me sort it out before you jump to anything." His fingers gripped her arm tightly. "Let go of me." She shook her arm free. She walked out of the room and into the living room. She stood looking through the window at the moon and the shreds of light it graced upon the front lawn. She heard him walk up behind her. "I thought you had it all figured out. That's why I agreed to come back here with you tonight. I love you Kevin. I have for the last few years. But I can't be with someone who doesn't love me. It's all or nothing." Kevin nodded his head but Megan couldn't hear that. All she heard was the door close as he walked out of her life. For how long she didn't know, but she knew that she wouldn't never be quite over Kevin. Can This Be Happening? Ch. 06 Megan sat on her couch and flipped through the channel's rapidly. One program blurred into the next. "It's been almost two years Meg." Ashley said as she sat down next to her on the couch. "I know." Megan smiled but her eyes were blank. "Don't you think you should call him?" "He made his choice when he walked out the door." She stood and walked into her room. "It isn't like he's been beating down the door, Ash." "He might if he knew." "He knows." Megan walked back into the living room and picked up the toy truck from the floor. "I called him when I found out. I told him that I was pregnant and he said that it couldn't be his because we used a condom. He made it sound like I was the one who made the condom break." She rolled her eyes as a single tear rolled down her cheek. "He's the only one I've been with for five years." She wiped the tear from her cheek. "There isn't anymore that I can do." "How come you never told me all of this?" Ashley wrapped her arms around Megan and pulled her into a hug. "I didn't want you to hate him." Megan let out a short laugh when Ashley's face hardened. "I don't mean to laugh but I knew that's how you would feel. I thought it was just better if you didn't know." Megan stood and put the truck into the toy box. "Nobody knows. Just you and me." "And Kevin." "He made his choice. I can't hold that against him." Megan smiled genuinely. "I was mad for a long time, but he gave me Parker and I will always love him for that." "He is a doll, isn't he?" Ashley looked at the photo's of the blond haired, blue eyed boy. "He's my everything." Megan smiled into the picture. ******* Kevin sat in the booth at the back of the Italian restaurant. His blue eyes scanning every person that walked into the seating area. He saw a tall blond walk in and started looking her up and down. Lean, long legs. Nice ass, trim waist. He was nodding to himself when she turned around. "Ash?" He stood and walked to the entrance of the seating area. He held his arms out. "How are you? It's been at least a year since I've seen you." "Kevin." Ashley put a small smile on her face. "Are you here alone?" Kevin noticed she was looking around. "Maybe meeting someone?" "I'm looking for..." Her eyes lit as she knelt to the ground. Kevin saw a small boy just over a year old come walking towards her. "Hey buddy!" She said as she wrapped her arms around him. She stood and positioned him on her hip. Ashley blew a kiss on his cherub cheek and laughed when he giggled at her. "Kevin, this is Parker." "He's cute." Kevin smiled at the boy. "Can you say Hi?" Parker waved his chubby fist at him and smiled. "Hi" he said. "Mum mum." Were the next words out of his mouth. Ashley set him down and watched as he wobbled back to where he came from. Through the crowd, Kevin watched a petite woman bend down and pick him up. His breath caught in his throat. No sooner did he get his breath back, Ashley was walking past him and hugging Megan. Her face lit as she hugged Ashley back. She was nodding at something Ashley was saying and switching the kid from one hip to the other. He noticed that Megan had kept on some of the weight she had gained during her pregnancy. She looks good, he thought. She always looked better with a little more weight on her. Kevin walked through the crowd. He stood just behind Ashley and waited until Megan looked at him. Slowly her eyes looked past Ashley and locked on his. A smile automatically came to her face. It was a genuine smile. "Kevin. How are you?" Megan asked. Kevin stood, slack-jawed looking at her. "Are you alright?" "Uh, yeah." He smiled, laughing just a little. "I'm great. You look good." "Thanks. Motherhood agrees with me." Megan looked at the boy trying to get out of her arms and down to the floor. "This is..." "Parker. Ashley introduced us." Kevin interjected. He stood there and stared at the boy. "I hate to do this Ash but I have to go." "But why?" Ashley asked, a little whiny. "I don't get to spend that much time with him anymore." "I know and I'm sorry but it's getting late. He needs a bath and he has to get to bed." "Alright. I'm claiming Saturday afternoon, though. Parker and I have a date with Chuck-E-Cheese." She smiled as she spoke the last to Parker. Ashley took him from Megan and planted a kiss on his cheek and hugged him. "Love you buddy." She said. "Call me if you get an afternoon free. We could get some lunch or something." Megan laughed at that. "What's a free afternoon again?" She pulled her purse on her shoulder along with a diaper bag. Taking Parker in her arms, she gave a quick hug to Ashley and walked out of the restaurant. Kevin still stood there, staring at her retreating back. "I didn't believe her." He said, almost to himself. "Huh?" Ashley asked. "When she told me, I didn't believe her. I thought she was just saying it to make me come back to her." "She would never do that." Ashley's face looked angry. "I wasn't exactly thinking the most rationally at the time." Kevin was starting to get mad, so he decided to direct it at Ashley. She was standing there and he didn't want to put the blame on himself, where it belonged. "I didn't know what I was supposed to do. I thought we were good. Then she walked away from me to go to you that night. I didn't want to be second. That's how I always saw it. You would always come first and I couldn't compete." "Well, that's just stupid." Ashley put her hand on his shoulder. "Maybe it's time you did something about it." She smiled softly at him. "He's a great kid, Kev. Every once in a while, when he's just about to get into something he knows he shouldn't, he gets this smile on his face. It's the same smile you get when you're about to do something you know you shouldn't." Ashley sighed. "I don't know how to get back to where we were." "You can't. Megan is a different person than she was two years ago. She's stronger. She has to be." Ashley stepped out of the way of a man that was trying to get by her. "Look, I was planning on having dinner with Meg but that didn't work. Could I buy you a drink? Or are you meeting someone?" "I was supposed to meet someone but I don't feel up to it now. A drink would be good." Kevin and Ashley sat down into the booth that he was at when she walked in. They sat and talked for over and hour. Ashley gave Kevin a quick once over on Megan and Parker. Ashley also found out what Kevin had been up to. At close to eleven that night, Kevin found himself on Megan's doorstep. He knocked softly. He turned and looked out at the neighborhood. It was a good area. He heard the lock turn and Megan opened the door. She was standing there in her pajama's. She looked like she just rolled out of bed. "What are you doing here?" "Uh, well, I uh, I wanted to say I was sorry." Kevin looked down at his feet. He kicked the toe of his boot on the boards of her porch. "Couldn't you have said that, say maybe when the sun was out?" Megan crossed her arms on her chest. "Do you know what time it is?" "I know it's late, I'm sorry." He looked into her eyes and saw a flicker of hurt before she blinked it away. "I just spent the last hour talking to Ashley. I've been an ass and I don't know how to say I'm sorry for that." "Well, come on in." Megan opened the screen door. "If we're going to talk about this I at least want a cup of cocoa." Kevin walked in behind her. He closed both the doors quietly. "Would you like something? I have water, juice, milk and cocoa." "No Diet Pepsi? That was always what you drank." He smiled as she turned back to look at him. "I stopped drinking caffeine when I got pregnant. I never took it back up. I don't drink coffee anymore either." Megan smiled and filled the tea kettle up with water. She set it on the burner. When she turned, Kevin was standing very close behind her. She side-stepped him. "I don't drink any kind of alcohol either. It's been good for me." Megan pulled the cocoa from the cupboard. She felt his body behind her. She set the canister on the counter and let out a long sigh. "We've been in this position before." He ran his hands up her arms. He ran his palms across her shoulders and massaged the knotted muscles there. She let out a soft moan, his fingers working magic on her tensed muscles. He stilled his hands and tested his chin on the top of her head. "There never was anyone else, was there?" Megan shook her head. She felt the tears in her eyes and pushed them away. "I don't have time to play games Kevin. I have someone else I'm responsible for now. He's my world." "I want to be a part of that world. I want you. I want him, I want it all." Kevin wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight. "I will take it anyway you want to give it. But I'm not walking away from you again. I love you, I always have but I didn't want to share you." He felt her tense and made a 'shhh' noise. "Listen. That was two years ago. I've learned a bit since then. I know that no matter what, Parker will be the most important person to you. I'm okay with that because he'll be the most important person to me too." He turned her so that she was facing him and put his fingers under her chin to make her look into his eyes. "It isn't going to be an over night mission. It will take a while and I'm ready to do that. I'm ready to spend the rest of my life letting you know that I will always be there for you. For both of you or more kids, if you'd like." Megan smiled slightly with that. Kevin rested his forehead against hers. "What do you say? Are you willing to give it a shot? It's all or nothing Meg." A single tear rolled down her cheek. "All." She whispered. "I want it all."
