Sitting in traffic while the last city I went through had people out blocking off streets for their annual Summer celebration made me late. Finally a cop pointed the way to the detour and we got moving again. My plans to be out on the lake by 7 in the morning became nearly 9. The little 14 foot Aluminum boat was loaded though, all I had to do was back her down the ramp and drop the tie downs. It was so light I could easily shove it off the trailer into the water. She had a nice electric trolling motor, the battery was fully charged and there was a pair of oars for just in case something happened. I looked out across the lake, there was only the slightest breeze on the water, not bad for a Memorial day weekend. Now if the fish were just biting, things would be perfect. In short order, I was out onto the lake, worm hung so that the piece of bait looked a bit like a tiny fish, the flasher I ran ahead of it causing the tip of the pole to make a slight tapping motion. That moment when the lure vanishes into the depths is the very best one in life to me, almost nothing on the planet can match that. Expectation of what the next bite at the bait might bring is a magic time for a fisherman. I have to say I love the idea of catching fish, if I have a spare moment or can even manage to sneak one in I have a line in the water. Now at 38 years old, I had long since given up on the idea of marriage, children, the house with the lawn and the picket fence. One bad marriage had been quite enough for me. Nothing I had ever done had been good enough for Caroline, the beautiful and she knew it woman I had married. All of my friends told me I was one lucky SOB, little did they know. Well. As it turned out, a couple of them did know. Even my efforts in the bedroom had apparently been lacking, because she sure had her fair share of experiments with others. I found that out by accident, driving by one day to a place outside of town. Even back then I liked fishing trips, which for some odd reason Caroline never minded me taking one bit. I just wanted to check out a boat sale, I had been thinking of getting one anyway and they had a 20% off deal going on. There sat the Mercedes I had bought Caroline, in front of a motel. Right next to it was a big pickup, one that was easy to spot since it had tires at least four times to big for it. A guy named Frank I knew barely with a reputation of being handy with women owned that truck. I could add up two and two pretty easy. I turned around and parked down the street, pretty much out of sight and waited. About an hour later out came Caroline, Frank right behind her. She was laughing at something he said, I watched as they kissed and then she hopped into the Mercedes. Frank had gotten in a few good feels of Caroline's tits while they necked a bit. Hell, she drove right by me, I guess she was feeling pretty safe because she didn't even look over. The photos served quite well in court. That had cost me nearly five grand, the one with her on her hands and knees with one guy I didn't know on one end and Frank on the other was classic and would have fit right in on any porno web site. His fucking Dick wasn't even as big as mine which pissed me off even more, to be honest. Caroline didn't end up with much as a result, and I had changed by then. The mellow guy I was before became an unbending asshole. Men know deep down inside when a wife is unfaithful, but even then that one picture was a complete shock to me. She did call me a greedy bastard, about the last words she ever said to me. I was rather proud of my self control, she was right there and in range and I didn't even hit her. So instead of parties, vacations like many single, I just went fishing. Usually all by myself, too. With no wife to keep in trinkets, I saved and invested. A few good guesses in the stock market helped a lot so I was quite comfortable. When I needed a bit of relief, I parted with a $100 bill down at a local massage place I knew about. The place was nice, clean, and as legitimate as it was possible to be from all accounts, or anything that showed. I normally saw a lady named Stephanie that worked there. But then the door is locked? For special customers like me, Stephanie had no reservations about using her hands to break the law a little bit. Once she even suggested that there might be more than that if I wanted to go out sometime, but I never took her up on that. The very last thing in the world I wanted was a female getting too close to me. Once I even got a rubdown from the older lady named Bell (honest) that owned the spa, she had the table all set up with sheets. I wasn't used to that and I guess I looked at it funny. She caught my look and whispered to me to "be as comfortable as you like, honey. Stephanie says you are OK." Then she grinned and left the room. She was OK but Stephanie was better so it was just that one time. I was flabbergasted when she grabbed my cock and I looked up, Bell had her boobs out. Even Stephanie never did that. That was honest to God as close as I got to any female for about 4 years, I didn't date at all, I never went to the nudie bars, in fact, I didn't even look at porn. Yes, my life was boring as hell, all I ever did was go to work and sometimes go fishing. +++ This lake I knew very well, big and deep, it usually had an early morning bite. I had been there several times, renting the heavy fiberglass boats old Carl at the resort had tied up there. Big Honda outboards, noisy things, I thought they might be scaring the fish so that is why I bought the Aluminum boat with the nice electric motor on the back. Plus no matter what I did, even at the slowest speed they went too fast to catch the really big fish I wanted. Even with two buckets towed along behind. By mid day the bite would taper off as the Sun got higher. Early on I ran the solid Silver colored flasher, middle of the day I switched to one I had painted jet black with just a strip of Silver left in the center, as the day faded to afternoon out came the all Gold flasher. I prided myself in being smarter than the fish, and usually I caught some. Most I just slipped the barb less hook and let them go, a few that were badly hooked went into the cooler for a meal. I always bought the bait holder type hooks, pinched the main barb down, but I left the two on the shank to keep the worm running straight like it was a little fish. Then I got the biggest and fattest worms I could find, because I used big number 2 hooks. Little fish usually missed the hook that way, the big ones didn't throw it back in my face when they went airborne quite so easily. Once in a very long time I would get into a real trophy, I had already taken a half dozen big Trout out of this very lake that were well over 5 pounds. There were the stories though, the ones about the big ones, those 10 pounds and up. The Cutthroat ran around 15 inches, the Rainbows were mostly planted and averaged a foot long or so, it was the big German Browns that I was interested in. There was talk about Lake Trout too but I never saw one. Old Carl was a crusty old guy that ran the sports shop on the docks, he always tried to sell me some big gaudy plugs, and he did manage to sell me a couple of them. He had a stuffed Lake Trout hanging on the wall that had a tag claiming it weighed 32 pounds. "Came right out of this lake!" He told me. I laughingly accused him of having it made out of plastic, which got indignant denials. He also had a Big Bass hanging on the wall, that thing had teeth that sure as hell weren't real so I was probably right about his Lake Trout. I then proceeded to drag those plugs around the lake for days, of course nothing happened. I went back to my piece of worm, and right back to catching fish. This trip I trolled for a solid hour, nothing. But I was enjoying the day, it was fairly warm. I headed right out across the lake, hoping the fish would be in the middle as sometimes happened. I was about two miles out, I had switched from trolling shallow to very deep when the rod tip went down, a fat scrappy little Rainbow just under a foot long appeared. I let it go, and seconds later I had another one. It went just like that, one fish after another, each one an exact duplicate of the other. Those never put up much of a fight, and they were easy to spot as planted because of the stubby rounded tail fins. The Sun got higher, the bite eased off so I switched to the black lure and went deeper and the bite picked right back up. I have no idea why that works, an old man suggested it to me one afternoon and I tried it. As I was hanging on a large piece of night crawler, I noticed the wind had picked up some, running with the wind I hadn't realized but of course the little boat instantly turned sideways when I stopped the electric motor to drift. It was getting hard to control my speed, the wind was pushing me along at a pretty good clip. Glancing up, I could see the shoreline but I couldn't quite make out the launch ramp where I had parked. Turning on the engine, I swung away from the wind and all felt OK, so I added some lead and let the line out deep, hoping to get away from the little Rainbows and maybe hook a bigger one. The line went down just as soon as I flipped the bail and set the butt into the holder. "Big one!" I said out loud, no point since no one was near me at all. There wasn't likely to be, it was opening day weekend, everyone heads for the rivers which is why I always headed for the lake. The big fish fought deep, the boat swung sideways and was really rocking now. That was the part I didn't like, the wind. The little boat weighed almost nothing so it was like a leaf on the water. But being light meant I could drag it around, which is why I bought it. I realized I needed to stand up to better control the fish, of course it was now upwind and I was facing downwind. I managed to get myself turned around without falling overboard, reached back with one hand as the fish took out line and turned the engine on high speed, swinging the bow into it. But the instant I let go of the motor to work the reel handle the boat swung instantly sideways. Finally I gave up and just fought the fish. I didn't dare stand up, and by now the fish I had on was a hundred yards out. It took nearly a full hour, the huge fish was gasping alongside the boat. I pulled as hard as I dared, with one hand I bailed out some water, then went back to pulling. Looking down at the thing, that was when I realized it wasn't a German Brown, it was a huge Lake Trout. A Lake Trout? On a flasher and worm? That was odd, but then I have caught Chinook Salmon on a flasher and worm, even out in the Ocean. That was funny, a grizzled old Captain looked at me like I was crazy when I took off the Herring and lead and hung on my own rig. I hung the entire worm on there, to give it some wiggle. Twenty minutes later I had a 19 pound Chinook flopping on the deck, he just shook his head and went inside. I also caught several big Sea Bass that trip, too. Bass, Bluegill, even Catfish sometimes, nothing works better most of the time. Of course, I have also had large Salmon hit the flasher which sort of messes them up. +++ A Lake Trout? It was the first one I ever saw, and it was monstrous! I reached for the net, looked at it, then at the fish. Maybe it's head would fit in there, maybe. I dropped the net and reached down, the big fish had it's mouth hanging open so I grabbed it by the lower jaw. The boat damn near went under right then, but I shifted my weight backwards just as she shipped water over the side. It took quite a bit of effort to hang on and drag it over the side, the thing had to weigh over to 40 pounds! Man! What a fish! This would get my photo hanging on the wall at the sports shop for sure, it was easily a lake record, I thought. The hook was in pretty deep, but with no barb it rotated out easily, I managed to avoid the sharp teeth. I grabbed some burlap I had and soaked it with water, wrapped the fish up after bonking it on the head with my pliers. Then I looked up. I could no longer see the launch ramp, in fact, now even the shoreline was coming into view only when I topped the big waves. It was just a haze in the distance. The wind was really picking up, it was time to get the hell out of there. I turned on the little motor, swung the bow into the waves. Every time I crested a roller though, the bow caught the wind and swung sideways and I had to bring her back. I was having one hell of a fight to keep her straight. I was also wishing I had selected a bigger boat, and right at the moment I was missing the powerful Hondas old Carl had on his rentals. Now the lake was throwing whitecaps at me, water was beginning to slosh back and forth in the hull. I grabbed my tin can and bailed with one hand while fighting to keep making headway with the other. A half hour later I realized I was losing ground. Then to help things along it started to rain, sprinkles at first but then down it came in torrents. I was getting very wet and cold. Sticking a hand into my pocket did no good, more water was coming in, my pocket was wet anyway, and if I let go of the motor I was nearly instantly going the wrong direction. Then when a rather large wave came over top of the bow leaving a good six inches of water inside, I gave up. That scared the hell out of me. I swung the boat downwind, there was no choice, that last wave nearly swamped me. Now the waves were slapping the stern, but at least much less water was coming in. I began to bail like a madman. At the same time, I felt the battery begin to fail. The RPM's were obviously falling, finally it slowed enough that it was mostly useless. I unhooked that and shoved the battery forward to shift weight, moved to the center seat and pulled out the oars. That was when I discovered that the oar locks would not fit into the holder for them, they were too large. I had just bought the pair, brand new and never thought to check that. Just plain stupid, that was. Cold and now not thinking well, it didn't hit me to use some rope to tie those in place. Sitting sideways with no way to control direction, it was a matter of time until I was flipped over. The all metal boat, with no floatation of any kind would go down like a stone. That was the moment I realized that I could die out here in the middle of this huge lake, life jacket on be damned. The water was very cold and I was now miles from the shore I had left from. Looking up, I could see I was closer to the other shore but it was a blue haze, one long damn ways off. I had that small bucket with a handle on it that I used on the rental boats as a drag, so I tied it to a piece of rope, threw it over the stern. I tied the other end around the electric motor, instantly the Aluminum boat swung bow first downwind. That freed up both of my hands for bailing. It took me quite a bit of time to get the six inches of water that had collected again out of the bottom, and by moving my weight, the battery and the big fish even further towards the bow the stern lifted some. Much less water was slapping over the stern. I thought of dumping the battery overboard, but no way in hell was I going to dump that fish. Finally I said fuck it, over the side went a brand new $90 deep cycle marine battery. Next my tackle box, although I closed it, hoping it would float since there was an easy $500 work of tackle in it. The anquor went also. Everything, I was trying to get the little boat as light as I could. I could see that it was now around 3 in the afternoon, which of course without fail brought even more wind off the nearby Ocean. This one was way more than a normal wind, though, the sky to the West was now very dark. The rain had eased up but I could see more coming. A shot of lightning lit up the face of the storm, It popped into my head that not only was I in trouble from the water, but I was sitting in an all metal boat in the middle of a huge lake? So much for accurate weather forecasts, they had predicted gusts to 10 MPH and this was already twice that and building. The rope around the motor pulled very tight each time the boat lurched forward over the top of the waves, I worried about it breaking. I glanced up at the downwind shoreline, it had changed from a hazy blue to where I could make out trees. That gave me a bit of hope. Then somehow I slept, I have no idea how. What woke me up was my feet being very wet, and it was pouring down cold rain again. I looked down at the large amount of water inside the hull and began to bail furiously, by the time I was floating high again I was exhausted. I now realized I was going to make shore, I just had no idea where. Then I felt the boat hit something, I looked and didn't see anything but trees up on the bank about a hundred yards away. Then I hit something again. Rocks! I was against a gravel bar that reached far out into the lake. I could see the rocky beach, I managed to get my nearly frozen feet over the side, reached down to grab the side of the boat as another big roller came over the stern nearly knocking me down. The next wave lifted her and the boat came to a stop, jamming into the rocks. I lifted with all my might, managed to tip the boat enough that water poured out the opposite side. The next wave pushed her closer to the shore, filled it again so once again I lifted. Suddenly it became easy, another set of hands was helping me to empty it. I knew it was a woman but that is all I knew. She helped my drag the now very light boat up to shore and up the bank. Then she ran down to the water's edge, I saw she had grabbed my fish that had been swept out when we lifted the boat. She appeared to be a large woman, but it was hard to tell from the rain slicker she wore. I managed to get further up the bank, stood there shaking furiously. "Come on!" She said, heading up the rocky beach. I followed her, she made it about 50 feet and stopped. "Damn, this thing is heavy!" She said, looking back at me. "Leave it." I told her. "No way I will, you looked like you were willing to die to bring it in, so let's get it to the house." The truth is that by the time the boat reached shore I had long since forgotten the damn fish. I followed her as she half carried and half dragged the fish through what looked like a nearly solid wall of blackberry bushes, but there was a narrow trail there. Another hundred yards and there was a small cabin, smoke coming out of a silver chimney sticking through the roof. Once inside, it was so hot it hurt. My face and hands felt like they were on fire, the rest of my body was so cold I was shivering. "Give me a hand." She said. I looked and saw she could not quite get the huge fish up onto the table, she was tired out from the dash to the cabin carrying it. I grabbed it and the two of us managed that, then I was done. By done, I mean that, I was done. I could no longer stand. I did manage to grasp the back of a nearby wooden chair, sat down. I looked up, from someplace the woman had gotten one of those hand held scales with a big hook on it, she managed to climb up on a wooden chair and somehow lifted the fish and read it. "Forty six and one half pounds!" She exclaimed, setting it back down. I saw that it's tail was still resting on the table so it was even bigger than that. Then she turned to me. "We gotta get those wet clothes off of you, you are turning white." She started tugging at my soaked clothing. The first thing she took off was my life jacket, I still had it on. She got my coat and shirt off, managed to drag my T-shirt over my head. Then she sat down on the floor and pulled off my shoes and socks, next she was tugging at my blue jeans. She was having a hell of a time with it, too. Aluminum Boat "Lift up!" She said, so I did. She put one foot against the chair and tugged. "Those too." She told me, and off came my briefs. There I sat, naked as a Jaybird as she went over by a small square stove and hung the clothes up on a wire. Then she looked back at me and grinned. I looked down at myself, my poor cock was so cold it was shriveled up, I felt myself flush at that. "Get up." She told me. She opened the front of the stove and stuffed in a couple of blocks of wood. Then she turned around and looked me up and down, amusement on her face. I was starting to warm up and I had nearly returned to my normal size. That was nutty all by itself, to be concerned at a time like that but it popped into my head. She pushed me closer to the stove. "Well, I have brought home a lot of things from my beach combing trips but this is sure new!" She said, laughing. I couldn't answer, I was still shivering but now the fire felt good. I also realized she had a deep southern accent. "I have some Coffee on, I will get you a cup." She walked over to the counter, came back with a steaming cup. "Thanks for helping me." I finally managed to find my voice. I was fast warming up, the shaking had stopped anyway. "I just happened to be down at the beach, lots of stuff washes up when it gets like this. I saw you out there in the boat, I would have called for help but I ain't got no phone here. It's twenty five miles around the lake and I figured you would be sunk or dead by then." "Thank you." I told her again, taking another sip of the delicious Coffee. "So what were you doing out there in a rowboat anyway?" She said. "I had an electric motor but the battery gave out." "I didn't see one? No battery, either. Only thing in that boat was you and that giant fish over there." She said. "Must have worked loose." I said, not really caring right then. "You still look cold, why don't you hop into my bunk while I make some food. It will do you good to get some in you." She looked me up and down, then a big grin crossed her face. That was when it really struck me that I was standing there stark naked in front of a woman I didn't know in her cabin. Then even worse, I felt myself begin to erect. She looked down at me and grinned, but she didn't say anything. I used all of my will power to control that. She led me over to what was a single mattress on the floor, covered me up with blankets. I was sound asleep in just a few seconds. I woke up to her shaking me. "Food is ready." She said. I sat up, swung my feet out. I hesitated, keeping the blanket over my lower body. "Oh. Now you are bashful!" She grinned. "I..do you have anything I could put on?" I asked her. "Nothing that is gonna fit, you are kind of big. My pants won't fit you, neither will my dresses." She smiled at that. "But here, I got an idea." She found a sheet, fashioned it over my shoulders, pinning it with a couple of safety pins. "There. But I ain't so sure I didn't like you better the other way!" She giggled. All I could do was blush. Then she turned and picked up two large plates and set them down. There were some fried potatoes, and a two inch thick slab of fish that actually hung over the side of the platter. She had cut it in half and each piece was still huge. "Got no way to keep it, no electricity here." She said, matter of fact. "I took a bunch of pictures though, figured you would want those." I looked at the cheap box camera sitting on the table. "Thank you. But where is the rest of it?" I asked. "Got it smoking outside, bunch of good meat there, no point in wasting it. The rest I will use in my Crawdad pots." I nodded. The fish was very good, perfectly cooked. As I was eating, I took the time to look her over for the first time. This was not a small woman at all, I guessed her to be 30 or so. Her hair was a light brown, it was cut in a short style and it didn't look like she paid much attention to it. It was cut straight across in the front like she took scissors to it. She had on a well worn T-shirt and blue jeans that she filled out very well, no one could ever call her slender. Her bust hung low, it was hard to tell if she wore a bra. The muscles on her upper arms were well defined, she looked to be strong although she had appeared to have one hell of a time carrying that fish. But then right at that moment I couldn't have carried it at all. "Well?" She asked. "What?" I answered. "You was studying me." She said, a serious expression on her face. "Sorry. I didn't mean...I just barely have my wits about me." She looked at me, then she launched into talking in what I was now sure was a southern slang. "It's OK. I moved out here from Tennessee a couple of years ago. My cousins was always looking at me, and sometimes they pestered me. I had to whip them sometimes, finally after Ma passed I had enough and took off. Nothing there for me anyway." "I just realized I don't know your name?" I asked her. "It's Ava. My Pa had a thing for that movie actress, Gardner, so that's what they named me..Yours?" "Roy. Pleasure to know you." I smiled at her. "Likewise. It's nice to have someone to talk to, there ain't nobody else here on the island." "This is an island?" "Yea, about 9 acres, my great grandpa bought it way back, came out here to look for Gold. Never found any though, but he built this place. So I ended up with it, been here for a couple of years now." "All by yourself?" "Yea. I got a rifle and go get me a Deer once in awhile, catch some fish. Nothing like that thing you got but nice ones come into the river. Lots of Rabbits, Squirrels over on the government land. Water runs out of the hill into a tank up there and and down to here, good water too. Nobody bothers me none. Plus I got two Cows, a Chicken house out back and a garden spot, so I do OK." "That sounds like an easy way to live, but what do you do for money? There has to be taxes and things you need, do you work?" "Yea, I rub folks. In the Summer mostly, nobody around in the Winter 'cept for a few locals." "Rub...folks?" "Yea, tourists come to the lake and stay at the cabins, I type up little ads and stick them here and there. I go over to Carl's place and use the phone there to get my messages." "That's a surprise, you don't look like a massage therapist to me." I said, almost instantly regretting that. "Well, what does one look like anyway? I know about menfolk, they have needs. It makes me a living. I know I ain't real pretty." She sounded mildly upset. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean..." I said. "It's OK. A few look down on me 'cause of what I do, I am used to it." "How do you get to town?" I asked her, changing the subject. It had to be 25 miles out around the lake by vehicle. "On my bike." "Wow. You should get a phone, maybe a car, it would make things easier." "My bike works just fine, I will take you for a ride, show you around tomorrow if you want." She grinned. "A ride?" That confused me, how was she going to take me for a ride on a bicycle? "It's a Harley." She laughed. "Oh." +++ After dinner, I found myself thinking about that. Here was a large, on the plain side woman living by herself on an island, riding a motorcycle and doing body rubs for a living? For tourists? I had a pretty good idea of what kind of body rubs she did. But what the hell, I had my own woman back in the city I saw regularly, so it was no big deal. The surprise was that she was so relaxed about it. That was going though my head when she came out with a chess board. This woman had no end of surprises. "Wanna play?" She asked. "OK." I handled a Chess board fairly well, why not? "I usually have to play by myself, 'cept once in awhile I go over and take on Carl at the sports shop. He is tough to beat." She grinned. "How do you play by yourself?" I asked her. "Easy, first I do one side, then I do the other. The problem there is I always know what I am up to, but I always win anyway." She tipped her head back and laughed at her own joke. I laughed at that with her, for an instant there she looked attractive. Then her expression turned serious as she studied the game. She whipped me rather handily three times in a row. The last time she somehow pushed my Queen into a position that no matter what move I made it was wrong. "I give!" I told her with a grin. She stood up and put the pieces carefully away. "Let's get some sleep, ain't no way in hell you are going anywhere in this storm. I imagine you will want to go check out your boat tomorrow and head on home? It should blow out by then." I nodded, looked around. There was just the mattress and a short couch, plus the chair. "Go ahead and take the cot, I have an air mattress and some extra blankets." She told me. "I can take the air mattress." I said. "Nope, you are my guest." She insisted. I shrugged, went over to the mattress and sat down. She opened a closet, pulled out a bag and a little foot pump, in minutes she had the mattress inflated. "You are the first man that has ever been inside here, 'cept for the Sheriff a few times." She said. "The Sheriff?" I asked. "Yea, he is one of my clients." She flashed me a big smile. I managed to stifle a laugh. "Turn your back." She told me, so I did. There was a rustle of clothing. "OK." She said. I turned back, she was curled up under the blankets facing away from me so I slipped off the sheet she had given me and climbed into the bed. It was surprisingly comfortable as I had discovered earlier, I was asleep in minutes. A noise woke me up hours later, I looked over and she was stuffing some wood into the fire. She was completely naked, the light from the flickering fire showed her body clearly. Her medium sized breasts hung down, she had a full bush between her legs. I closed my eyes out of politeness, heard her move back to her bed. A few minutes later her breathing changed to a soft steady sound. This woman was not what anyone could call beautiful, not even well built in the classic sense. Her hips were big, her belly was slightly rounded yet muscular appearing, her breasts were full but sagged quite a bit, yet she was amazingly interesting. It registered on me that I had become fully erect at the sight of her. I managed to make that go down, almost ashamed at what had popped into my head. Ava had been very good to me, perhaps she even saved my life. I was not sure what would have happened had I been cast up on a deserted shore in that condition. The next morning I woke up before her, it was still dark outside but I knew the Sun would be up in short order. My clothes were dry, so I dressed quickly, glancing her way a couple of times. She didn't stir. I found the coffee pot, set it on the stove after stoking it, I knew how to make campfire coffee. "Morning." I heard her voice. "I am going to get up and get dressed." She said, so I kept my back turned. She went outside, came in with some well smoked fish and some fresh eggs. She set a pan on the stove, cooked the eggs and we ate. She was wearing the same clothing she had on the day before, but then so was I. I was feeling rather gritty, she must have read my mind. "Tub is in the lean to outside, build a fire under the tank and then open the valve and it will fill the tub. Watch out though, it gets real hot if you ain't careful, I only have just the one line to it. If it does get to hot, just let some more run in, OK? When you pull the plug it drains into a grey water tank I have buried there. Be sure to rinse it out real good when you are done." Later, I did exactly that. The system was very clever and worked well. Ava stayed inside, I finished and came in. "My turn." She looked at me. I waited inside until she was done. I noticed she had carefully combed her hair when she came in. +++ Down at the beach, I looked over the Aluminum boat. The hull was still sound but a big chunk of the stern was broken away where the electric outboard had been attached. The rope I had worried about breaking had not, instead the boat had broken. There was no fishing pole, no oars. All of that I had no idea of where it was. It had a large dent up close to the bow where it had landed on the rocks. "I think it's done for." I said to no one in particular. "I can fix that." Ava said. "You can have it if you want then." I told her. "Really? That would sure help me, I ain't got no boat. Carl lets me use one of his sometimes, but that's a hassle." "You are welcome to it then." I told her. We each grabbed it and dragged it farther up the bank until it was way up on the grass. I had had it with Aluminum boats by then anyway. It wasn't enough to pay her back for saving my life though, I wanted to do something for her. Later, back at the cabin, I told her I wanted to put in power and phone lines for her, but she looked at me oddly and told me no. "Why not?" I asked. "Why would you even want to do that, it would cost a lot of money. Besides, I got me everything I need, if I have electricity I will just get lazy, if I have phone lines here I won't need to go see Carl and visit so much. I like to sometimes sit and talk. That's why I like my work, I get to visit with folks I would never meet no other way." She said. I nodded, I guess I understood that. She lived a nice quiet life, with enough and no need for more. I thought about my own life, constant deadlines, sometimes 12-14 hour days, finding a weekend to get away was a rare thing. I had tried vacations off to some resort somewhere, where I pretended to have fun. I liked being alone, fishing more than anything. In some ways, Ava had the better lifestyle, all I had was a better bank account. "Well, how about I come back and visit with you sometime, may I?" I asked her. "I would like it if you did, you act like a real nice man. Yea, I would like that. But why? I know I ain't pretty, and a fine looking man like you can go see any woman you want to?" Her face flushed and she turned away. "Ava? I only have known you for a very short time, but you are probably the most beautiful woman I have ever met!" I blurted out. I had to say something, I didn't want her to think I didn't find her attractive. "Really?" Her face changed, she beamed, for an instant she really did look pretty. There was something magic about the way she was. I reached out and took her hand. She looked down at my hand on hers with surprise. "I know you saw me when I was stoking the fire, I could see your eyes in the reflection. I didn't mean that, I didn't even think about it since nobody is ever here anyway." She said. "You looked beautiful like that, that excited me." I told her, hoping she wouldn't take it the wrong way. "It did? You mean, you liked that?" She looked at me in awe. "Yes, I did. I don't mean to embarrass you, but there is something..real about you." "Well, I saw you...that way, and I liked the way you look, too. I see lots of men with no clothes on when I work, and they don't do nothing for me, not really. But you did." She smiled. We sat there looking at each other, both of my hands were holding hers. I leaned forward and she met me halfway for a kiss. I had kissed my fair share of women, I never felt anything like that. Her lips pursed and blended softly with mine, it wasn't a mashing, tongue exploring kind of kiss. It was soft and sweet and it made my head swim. Once again I felt my body respond. She leaned back and looked at my face, then her eyes dropped down. I had no way to hide my obvious reaction to her. "I don't hardly even know you, but I will if you want to." She told me. "You barely know me." I answered, that sounded stupid to me. I was usually in control, but somehow now I was not. Ava was. "I don't care, I know enough. I have been looking anyway. It's just that..I been thinking I need a man..sometimes. I guess I will pick you, if you want to that is." I understood perfectly, still holding her hand I stood up. We walked that way to the bed. "I ain't never done this with no man except for once when I was forced to. That's why I left and came out here, so if I act all tense and nervous you will know why." She said. That caused me to hesitate. "You mean, someone did that to you, forced you?" "Yea, one of my cousins. But then he went to sleep so I went and got Pa's shovel and hit him real good, he won't go doing that no more." "Remind me to not make you angry." I told her. "I don't get mad easy, besides. I already decided, I am letting you. You ain't like the others. I been wanting to know what it is like but there ain't no men around here that I been interested in. I had a boyfriend once, but he..." Her voice trailed off. "Men always leave." She told me. Then she tipped her head up, wanting another kiss so I did exactly that. I didn't understand it, but right at that moment I wanted her more than anything I could think of. I slowly undressed her, she didn't resist or do anything at all, she just allowed it. Then as she lay back on the bed she shyly opened her legs, watching me the entire time. That by itself was earthy, totally erotic. She displayed her most intimate points to me with no hesitation. I knew she expected me to just start in but I didn't. I began at her feet, working my way up her body. I touched and teased, licked her, nuzzled and loved her in every way I knew how until she was quivering. Her motions became more and more urgent, when I pressed my lips between her legs she cried out in what sounded like pain. I knew it wasn't. Finally I slid up into position, taking my time. That was not easy, even with me being only slightly larger than normal her body resisted at first. Then her hands came around and grabbed my fanny and she tugged as hard as she could, her mouth coming open and her breath coming in gasps. There was no way to describe that, the union was simply right and meant to be. At least it was to me. I was not sure about Ava, what was she thinking? What was I to her? +++ Later, we lay cuddled up, her hand was busy between my legs. "You know I do this with the tourist men I go rub, don't you?" She admitted. "Yes, I kind of figured that, it doesn't matter." "OK. I was worried about that, what you might be thinking. I ain't no whore, least I don't see it that way. Men have needs, it's just the way it is. I don't never let any of them do anything to me back, no matter how much they offer. But I figured out if I did it for them, they always call me again when they come back." She said simply, showing no sign of shame at all. "I kind of figured that, too." What could I say, I used the massage places myself regularly. "Sometimes I rub myself, you know. But I never felt anything like what you just did. I was thinking that we could just do it and then I would know, but now I want to a whole bunch." She added. That was delightful, she was so fresh and honest about saying everything. I never knew a woman like her before. Probably because there likely weren't any. "I think you can maybe do that some more now, if you want to." She smiled, her very expert hands still busy. "I am sure of it." I told her, rolling over. +++ Riding on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle two days later was interesting, the machine was old but well taken care of. My behind was tingling by the time we got over to the launch ramp. There were two Sheriff's cars parked at the sports shop, old Carl had called them when I didn't return. They had a large boat and were getting ready to do a search. "Hi, Ava. What do we have here?" One of them asked looking at me carefully. By then my appearance was best described as scruffy. She cast me a sidelong glance at that but said nothing. Aluminum Boat There wasn't any need to. She had already told me one of her clients was a policeman, it kept her from being pestered, she said. We explained what had happened, they told me that two or three people were lost each year doing about what I had done, sometimes what appeared to be a placid lake became as rough as the Ocean. "You are lucky." One of them told me. "That's for sure!" I answered, holding Ava's hand. He glanced down at that and grinned. Carl was tickled when we walked in. "Hell, Roy. I had you figured for fish food by now." He grinned, shaking my hand. Ava asked him to have the film developed. His eyes opened in disbelief when I described the fish and what I had caught it on. He still didn't act like he believed it when Ava backed me up. "Them lake Trout eat these big plugs here. I can sell you three of them for the price of two." He told me. I just laughed at that, some things never change. "Wait until you see the pictures." I smiled at him. Then I turned and kissed Ava. "Well, I'll be damned!" Carl muttered. +++ "I promise, I will be back." I told her as I climbed into my rig. I had unhooked the trailer and hooked it onto her bike, she already had a hitch since she used a little trailer on her bike sometimes, all I had to do was change the ball. I saw her in my rear view mirror, looking forlorn as I drove away. I very nearly stopped and went back. But I had told her what I wanted, I had told her that even though we had only met a few days before, that I was in love with her. I could tell she wasn't sure. We had made love at least a half dozen times, but even at that, I was a stranger. I had washed up on her shore, things had just happened. "I will wait then and see." She said simply, but she did not say she loved me back. I think she half expected me to return to my life and that would be it. I was a tourist. Tourists always leave. Had she heard something like that before? I didn't know, I thought she was telling me the truth, but really, I just did not know. "Men always leave." Were her exact words. And here I was, leaving. I didn't want to go at all, but I had to. I did have a former life, things to deal with. There was a period in there when I really did think I was out of my mind. Give up a very well paying job, all of my life to go to a woman? I had done that once before, made a woman my entire life, and look how that ended up? Then I thought about Ava, that was all it took. Three short days, was it real or was it just sex, an opportunity for her? I did not know, but I was going to try. It took me over six weeks, I quit my job, cashed out all of my securities except for the IRA accounts. No point in giving the government 10%, besides, I had plans on living that long. I put all of my money into accounts that sent out a check every month. It wasn't a hell of a lot, just $500 per month but it would last for nearly 30 years. The stock market had been pretty good to me. I did call Ava's message service, I couldn't talk to her of course but I liked hearing her voice. I called every single day. She didn't call me back. But she did tell me before I left that she was going to wait, and see. "If you want to relax while on vacation, leave me a message and I will call. I will come and give you a nice full body rubdown, just fifty dollars." Her voice said in the message. Her voice sounded mildly sultry in that message. When the tone sounded, I told her I loved her every single time. I meant it, too. Three days with a woman, and I was in love with her. By then I knew all about what she did for a living, she kept fairly busy working Carl's rental cabins. It didn't even upset me, not one bit. In fact, I could just imagine what some thought when Ava showed up on her Harley, a trailer with a table hooked on behind. But I had plans of changing that, too. That was the other thing I wasn't sure of. I wanted her, but I wanted it to be for just me. I could find a job, maybe even become a guide and take people fishing. That last message I left for her before I headed back was different. I told her I loved her, and I wanted her to be my wife. I told her when I would be there, asked her to meet me at Carl's resort. I even told her that I would understand if she didn't come, although I knew I would not understand. She had to make that gesture, I knew I could not just show up. I was totally ready, but I needed her to commit also. +++ The Sun was shining the day I got off the bus. It was a six mile walk down to the resort. I had sold my vehicles and about everything I owned. I had only a suitcase and the clothes on my back. Old Carl greeted me, happy to see me. "Hell, I figured after the last trip that you would never come back." He told me. "I left something here." I told him. I heard Ava's Harley long before I saw it, grinned to myself at that. Then it made the turn into the parking lot where old Carl and I sat on the porch having a beer. He had been telling me about the one that got away from him, it hit that pike minnow plug he had for sale in there. "Thing had to weigh 60 pounds, you should maybe buy one of them and give it a try!" He bragged. Just then Ava pulled up and stopped, she bailed off the back of the bike and piled into my arms. "I love you too, Roy!" She told me. She had tears in her eyes, I kissed them away. Carl sat there in surprise. "Hey, Carl! You need someone else to come in and take care of your clients, OK?" I called out as I climbed onto the bike behind her. "Well. I'll be damned." He said with a grin. "I got the boat fixed." She told me over her shoulder, as I reached around and got a solid grip on her braless tits. I didn't really need to, I just wanted to. "Get a good grip, we don't want ya falling off!" Old Carl was roaring with laughter. "Let's sell that damned boat and get a wooden one." I said into her ear as we headed home. We pulled up and put the bike away, went inside. "I wasn't real sure you would come back but I wanted you to. It helped me a lot that you called every night." "You never called me back." I said. "Nope. I figured if you meant it, you would come back on your own." Then she pushed me down on the mattress and started kissing me. That was great, I started kissing her right back. "Got something to tell you." She whispered in my ear. "What's that?" I asked. "The school bus turn around is right past the bridge out there." She said with a grin. "The school bus turn around? What's that got to do with...OH!" I was busy tugging at the buttons on her blouse. "Yea, I think I figured out why I was so fussed up at you when you was standing there all naked that first night. By the next day I couldn't help myself. Now I went and missed my time." She laughed. I hugged her, nothing in the world would have made me happier. I started working on getting her jeans off. "I was shameless, wasn't I?" She giggled. "Yes, and I loved every minute of it." "We are gonna need to build on a little bit." She said, leaning back as I buried my face in her. "Worry about it later." I told her.
