Hugs, Josie -------------------------------------- A Sociological Treatise on the Patriarchy of the Roman Catholic Church Or How My Faith Made Me a Masochist There is no denying that the Catholic church is the most erotic, tempting, and succulent faith in the Western world. Saturated with eroticism and sadistic punishments through the centuries, the first time a woman gets down subserviently on her knees for a man, she is doing so within the walls of a Catholic church. Her eyes are emblazoned with the image of Christ nailed to the cross, on an impending crucifix that is the centerpiece of suffering at the Liturgy of the Eucharist. She drinks of the sacrificial blood given to her by a sinful man shrouded in pure white cloth, a man that she is told to call Father. The patriarchal organization treats her like a whore; images of Mary Magdalene, Delilah, Eve, are all flashed before her as Christian examples of womanhood. She is already the perpetual great sinner of the world because she has a cunt between her legs. Without her knowledge, woman becomes the evil that cannot stop from happening. Every pleasurable thought, every sensual whisper, each caress of her delicate body is a reason for shame, guilt, and sadness. Guilt becomes like leather straps that mark and brand across her back and chest, sexual shame becomes the rocks hurled at her by the crowd that calls her slut, and she is bonded to her sins by the masochistic pleasure that she derives from her public humiliation for private trespasses. For years, when she entered a man's place of worship, she had to cover her bare arms and her long hair, because it was tempting to the blameless men of the congregation. Long hair, a sign of sexual submission to a man, did not belong in the house of God but on her husband's chest when she lay on top of him at night. The wanton sinner could not flaunt her flaxen hair while kneeling in the pews, she might provoke a man out of his fake celibacy. Always, she is on her knees, feeling every lash of Christ's punishment inside of her thighs. Most of the sexually dominant men I have had interactions with are or were raised Catholic. All their lives, they have witnessed the men being the dominant rulers of society, and specifically of the One Holy Apostolic Church. They are just taking their leads from the Catholic men that are always on center stage, while the women sit in the back pews, cloaked in black and protected by their shame. Submission grants women their salvation. It is Mary Magdalene that subserviently washes Jesus feet and dries them with her long, beautiful hair. It is only after her submission can we perceive her as a saved woman. We watch Veronica wipe the face of Jesus in the sixth station of the cross, she accepts his blood and tears in this cleansing, sometimes erotic gesture. It is said, in traditional sadomasochistic theory, that it is really the submissive that is in control. It is of this writer's opinion that this in invariably true. A wise older man once told me that it was women who held the church together through the millennia, though the priests stood on the altar with their sacrificial robes, the women of the cloth were the pillars on which the church stood. It is the female Catholic that is taught how to manipulate a man by her sexuality. From the time we are little girls in pure white dresses to the days we spent sneaking fleeting kisses behind the sacred tabernacle, we were taught that it was female sexuality that obtained the head of John the Baptist from an immoral man, female sexuality that took away Samson's impervious strength, innate female sexuality that tempted Adam into biting into the proverbial fruit of good and evil. Through biblical example, I have been taught that the way to get what I want from men comes from the heat radiating from my lustful womb. As a young Catholic girl, I was taught that every sin of the flesh was a reason to repent, to confess my sins to a man that knew nothing about the desires of a young, succulent woman. For every delicious orgasm that rocked through my body, another lash of fire was struck against my soul, preventing me from eternal salvation. However, it is through submission that free will temporarily becomes the responsibility of another, and guilt is erased. It is in the satin collar that wraps around ones neck that deliverance is guaranteed and a lustful appetite can be innocently satiated. My sexuality wrapped in shrouds of carnal domination, a most derisive victory. A Treatise on Nonconsent Dear esteemed readers. This was originally intended to be a preface to one of my own pieces that is still in the planning stages, but it has come to my attention that some of this really needs to be said regarding certain categories on Literotica, specifically Nonconsent, and to a lesser degree, BDSM. The Nonconsent category is not for people who seek stories about loving relationships with a little kink thrown in. Go read 50 Shades for that. It is a dark, sometimes violent, disturbing category. I CAN promise (at least for my own writing) there will be no animals or participants under the age of 21. I like 21 better than 18. When I was 18, I still thought boys had cooties. But that is ALL I will promise. I do not promise a happily ever after. If there is a happily ever after, it's utterly coincidental, and may not be the HEA you imagine. If you have issues with rape, violence, abuse, or any other thing that makes you clutch your little metaphorical pearls, go away now. Because here there be monsters. Omnes relinquite spes, o vos intrantes. Etc. Pick the eternal damnation platitude of your choice. There won't be back to back sex scenes - domination and subjugation are not always physical, and honestly, Tab A into Slot B gets boring after awhile. Horror of horrors, some of them might even be vanilla! Good mind fuckery is almost always better than the physical one. At least for me. If you like the nonstop sex scenes, there are plenty of other stories to read. Go find one and more power to you - and your dominant hand. Depending on my mood, I like those too. I also don't do the whole PC thing. It's stupid for one thing, and just seems to get in the way of a perfectly good sex scene. Really, this whole category is so NOT PC it's ludicrous to expect it to be there in the first place. BDSM too, is the last refuge of the dominant who makes no excuses, and the submissive who asks for none. It drives me crazy when a writer tries so hard to please those annoying little PC fucks that they ruin an otherwise hot read. If you want hearts and flowers and rainbows coming out the writer's ass, go read romance. You'll find Ozzie and Harriet and Ward and June contemplating their navels and their twin beds over there. And maybe having a foursome - it would be boring if it were just tennis. But probably not, as it would offend the PC fucks. Too bad. It might have gotten the stick out of Ward's ass. I always laugh hysterically during those Leave it to Beaver reruns. "You were a little hard on the Beaver last night, Ward." Seems to happen in every episode. It was a wonder the woman could even walk in those heels. Oh wait, I'll say that in PC terms. "Please dear reader, my writing might be offensive to you, so please stop now and choose another story so you aren't offended." Yeah, um, I'll give that a resounding "fuck off." Like I give a flying fuck. Ooh, flying fuck - mental note to check out sex swings. My life will be complete when I can mortally offend an entire population. What can I say? Everybody needs a hobby. Some writers are nice, and will respond to all comments. Eh, not me. I will not respond to the profoundly stupid. Since this isn't exactly real life, stupid has consequences, so I get to delete your comments. Hooray for consequences! Nor will I entertain comments about how you disagree with the reactions of my characters because they don't fit your own narrow views - do see below about constructive criticism though. If something I've written causes a plot hole, or other unacceptable technical fuckery, PLEASE let me know! I take no responsibility for your psychological issues. If you have them, I empathize with you, and wish only the best for you. But you need to ask yourself if you really should be reading anything in this category. Ostensibly, we are all over the age of consent - act like it and take some responsibility for your actions and your own mental wellness. Do writers in these categories REALLY need to say their stories contain scenes which might upset someone with a trigger? It's fucking Nonconsent, people. Grab a clue. Honestly, it's LitEROTICA. Not LitHarlequin. It's absolutely ok to not like a story, but rating a story poorly because you don't like the category is a waste of your time and mine. It's not like your rating is going to prevent writers from writing, or readers from reading. You are just not that important in the grand scheme of things. Personally, I feel posting a preface like this on a Nonconsent story is a waste of my time, but it apparently needs to be said, as there seem to be a few readers who have forgotten what this category means. It's like commenting on a gay male story that you don't like to hear about two men kissing. You look like a moron and annoy the other readers. If a writer in any category goes off the reservation a bit into another category you find offensive, AND warns you ahead of time, don't come back whining about how it made you feel. Nobody cares. Go polish your pearls. Writers, this is a good heads up for you too. Let people know when you plan to explore the final frontier - or whatever. Writers, DO go off the reservation. Man doesn't live by bread alone, after all. Just give us a heads up ahead of time, if you please. Also, a good editor is your FRIEND. Take advantage of the free editing service. Please. Ratings are, to some degree, a reasonably accurate gauge of how well a story resonates with a relatively small population. I know it isn't realistic, but I have this utterly Utopian idea that ratings should be based on technical merit, plot, hotness of sex scenes if applicable, and reader engagement. Yeah, I know - too much to ask from a population filled with whiners and the barely literate who are too busy jacking off to notice anything but a money shot. When a reader rates a story poorly simply because he dislikes the entire category, it undermines the rating system for the entire category. It doesn't mean that the category will be read by fewer people, nor does it mean that your little anonymous 1 star will make the author write another genre. Incest doesn't ring my bell. But that doesn't mean I'm going to spend time every day looking for incest stories just so I can give them a single star rating because I don't like the category. I seriously have better things to do with my time. If you really dislike a category, petition the powers that be at Literotica to have the category removed. I wish you all the best of luck with that particular endeavor. I guarantee you WILL find somebody tying someone up elsewhere - though sadly, there probably won't be a single tail in sight. That would probably be a more productive use of your time than giving one star to every single BDSM or Nonconsent story that shows up on the "New Submissions" feed. And I think this applies to every category with elements other than traditional man/woman vanilla roles. Above all, dear readers, please keep in mind that Literotica is a free service, both for writers and readers. Many times it serves as a proving ground for writers who go on to publish their work, using Lit as a source of free beta readers. If you don't like a particular story, there are thousands of others from which you may choose another. One important thing to remember is that most of the authors here are writing for their own enjoyment. Not yours. Yes, we value intelligent, well thought out arguments. No, we do not value "this story is stupid" nor do we value some PC fuck trying to tell us what we've written is "wrong." I, (and I assume all other writers) DO welcome constructive criticism! Please give me technical comments, advice, etc. I AM a novice writer, so it will all be welcomed.
