If there is sufficient response to the first chapter, we will continue to make new chapters available to Literotica readers. Luv, VikingLass and Hubby. Chapter One: The Rebellion Andy Seah and Julie Bertholf had found the time to get away and spend the day together. They were by the lake, the place where they always went to get away from the city. They had spent the day swimming, and Julie had brought a picnic lunch. Julie's car was parked over the hill. The lakefront was devoid of any other human. The two of them had the whole lake to themselves, and they had taken advantage of that fact. Julie had taken off her skimpy top, and was lying semi-nude on her stomach on the blanket Andy had brought; she wore only her pale pink swimsuit bottoms. The blanket was Army issue, it had the starburst emblem of the Federa-tion in flat black in the middle of dull brown wool, and it came from his bunk back at the barracks. Julie smiled, as Andy toweled himself off. She sat up, grabbed her own towel, and rubbed his back dry. "Hi!" She said cheerfully, as she rubbed him briskly. "Hi. Water's fine, Julie. You going to swim?" He asked. "Later. I want to soak up some sun." She replied, lazily, then stretched out her arms as she lay back on the blanket. Her breasts bobbed as she moved. Andy sat next to her. She pulled the cap off of the sun block she had brought, and squeezed some of the cream out, into her hand. She rubbed it onto his back as she remained lying down. Andy laid his head onto her stomach, and kissed her belly, as she worked the lotion into his skin. "Feels good, my muscles are tight." He said softly. His hand worked its way down to waistband of her swimsuit. Julie placed her hand over his. Her fingers entwining his. With her other hand, she stroked his head, as he continue to kiss her belly. "Three days in the field, and you act as though it has been weeks. Captain Seah if I didn't know any better I'd swear the only reason you spend time with me is for the sex." She said in a lighthearted voice. "No Julie. It was three days away from you. Not touching you, feeling your soft skin against mine. The sex is wonderful, but it's you I love." Andy said softly to her. "Oh, Andy! I miss you too, when you're away. This last quarter of school is so hard, that when you're gone, I have no one to help me with the math." She sighed. She untangled her fingers from his, and grabbed his wrist, gently. She pushed it under the waistband. Andy slid his hand over her mound, Julie sighed. She lifted her hips, and freed herself from her bathing suit bottom in one motion. "Make love to me, Andy." She whispered. Andy leaned over her, and kissed her gently on the lips. "I love you Julie." He said, as he responded to her request. ***** The sun had begun to set. It would take two hours by car to get Julie home. She lived with her father, a senior Star Fleet Command Officer, while she finished her Masters Degree in Eco-nomics. Andy lived within walking distance of the small house Julie shared with her father on base. The Federation had a huge Aerodrome at the center of the city, Tolsit, where Andy served as an Officer in the Army of the Federation of Planets. He had met Julie Bertholf three years ago, at the Univer-sity of Tolsit, where he had graduated from the Officer Training Program. Andy had majored in Linguistics, and had an Associates' Degree in Electronics. Julie had just finished her Bachelors' Degree. They had met, innocently enough, on the first day of school as they bumped into each other at the Registrars' Office. Throughout their final year of college, they had maintained a strong friendship. When Andy had graduated, Julie finally shared her real feelings for him. Andy had not been surprised; he shared those same exact feelings with Julie Bertholf. Andy had finally gotten around to asking Julie to marry him that was three months ago. Her father had not seemed surprised when the young Army officer came to talk to him. Admiral Gunther Bertholf had followed the career of this young Federation Army Officer. He had received high marks in all of his evaluations. In three short years, from Second Lieutenant, to Captain, Andrew Patrick Seah had impressed his superiors with his dedication to duty, and had molded his Reconnaissance Company into one crack unit. Admiral Gunther Bertholf approved of his daughter's choice, and had turned a blind eye to her open displays of affection towards the young Army Captain. ***** Captain Andrew Patrick Seah had just arrived back at the Bachelor Officer Quarters, when he was notified by the Officer on watch that his presence was required at Battalion Headquarters. Andy quickly showered, and changed into his working fatigues. He headed over to see Colonel Watts at Battalion. ***** Julie had arrived back at her father's house. She went in to change her clothes, and to shower. Her father had left her a note in the kitchen. "Julie, I had to go to the office. Call me when you get home, or stop by my office. Please, don't wander off too far from home. Love, Dad." Julie decided she would shower first, then stop by and see her father. The she would call Andy. ***** Andy found out that the 3012th Infantry Battalion had been placed on alert. Rebel activity had increased. Three hours ago, the Governor of Halverstaadt had been as-sassinated, and a bomb had exploded in the House of Representative at the Capitol City of Metrodelphia, some nine hundred kilometers south of Tolsit. All Federation and Civil Defense commands had been notified, and alerted. ***** The rebels, or Separatist Isolationists, as they were called, had become a formidable force as of late. Every town, village, and hamlet on Halverstaadt had become a fortress for Federation Forces to occupy, and hold with troops, as the countryside was scoured for isolated bands of rebels that were forming. The Separatist Isolationist Organization, or S.I.O., had originally formed to stop the Federation from bringing in advisors and appointing ministers to key positions, who were not from Halverstaadt. The Federation had always maintained that their representatives would never interfere with the local governments, and they hadn't. They had been placed on Halverstaadt to assist the Governor, and the local Representatives. But the S.I.O. wouldn't believe the facts, and retaliated. The whole issue came to a head, when the Federation requested permission to build a spaceport at Metrodelphia, the capital city. The spaceport had been intended for civilian use, but could easily be used by Star Fleet Command in the event of emergency. With the recent events, the violent death of the Governor, and the bombing of the House of Representatives, all Federation personnel had been placed on alert, and the Army began the long tedious task of detaining suspected rebel sympathizers. Captain Seah, and his Reconnaissance Company were assigned to patrol an area south of Tolsit, in the town of Rown. This area had been identified as a hot bed of rebel activ-ity. A few small firefights had occurred during their search and capture missions. One of his men had been killed when he had wandered away from the bivouac area to answer a call of nature. The bands of three murderers were quickly captured, and were whisked away to Brigade Headquarters for interrogation. They patrolled the hills and hamlets for two weeks, and were soon relieved by another unit. Andy and his men soon were back at Fort Zhukarov. Fort Zhukarov meant home; home meant Julie; and Julie meant real life to him. ***** The first thing Andy did when he was dismissed, was find a civilian comm.-link so he could talk to her. Andy dialed her number, and the face on the screen brightened as she saw his image on the screen. He smiled, and drank in her image with his eyes. "Andy! When did you get in?" She asked, real happiness in her voice. "About two hours ago. Had a de-briefing, and we were dis-missed for two days. Got any plans for the next two days?" He asked. "None, except to be with you. I just finished my finals, I think I did good. Andy, I'm glad you are back and ...well nothing happened. I missed you." Julie looked down, and then smiled at him. "I heard that some of our boys have died. I'm glad you are safe." "I'm glad to be back. Sweetie, listen. Meet me for dinner at the O Club, in two hours, all right? We'll have dinner, and then make some plans for the next two days. Sound good?" He asked. "All right. In two hours." She repeated. "Yes. I need to shower and change. That should give me plenty of time." He said. "Good. I'll change into some nice clothes; we'll make an occasion of it." Julie brightened. "We will. I'll see you then." He said, and went to switch off the comm-link. "Andy?" She said. Andy stopped and looked at her image on the screen. "Yes?" He asked. "I love you." Was all she said, and the screen went blank. "I love you." He said quietly to the blank screen. ***** Andy was waiting at the front of the Officers Club for her. She stepped out of her car, looked around, and spotted him. She walked quickly to where he was waiting. Julie had worn a black evening dress. The skirt was modestly slit to reveal her shapely legs. She had a white cashmere sweater, thrown over her shoulders to ward off the evening chill. Andy watched her walk towards him, admiring her image, as she approached. He often wondered what she saw in him. She was a fine looking woman. He had also noted with satisfaction that Julie was always on time whenever they made a date. He thought that had more to do with Julie's father, a military man, like himself, than anything else. Julie had taken her father’s absences in stride, pointing out that since her mother died, she had been forced out of necessity to take care of herself when her father was deployed, she was only sixteen at the time of her mother’s death. Julie rushed into his arms, glad to hold him. She kissed him hungrily on the mouth as she greeted him, and held his arm tightly as he led her inside, to the Club. The Officer's Club was a fairly large building, with a bar, and a dining room. They immediately went into the dining area, and seated themselves. A waitress came over and took their drink and meal requests. Andy ordered a bottle of local fine wine, to cele-brate Julie's finishing her Master's studies. ***** During the meal, Julie surprised him by suggesting they pay his brother a visit. Andy's younger brother, Dennis, and his family lived in a small city east of Tolsit, in Waverton. Dennis, and his wife Lara, had two small children, Willy, now three; and Megan five months old. Andy had never seen the baby, and Julie knew he was dying to see his brother. Julie had met Andy's only living rela-tives several times, and she had always enjoyed the genuine warmth of their hospitality towards her. Andy pointed out to her that they would have to rent a hotel room because his brother's apartment was too small. Julie smiled, and nodded. "The nights are ours." She whispered, and snuggled closer to him. He smiled, and they finalized their plans. She would pick him up at the main gate after she went home to get some clothes and other items. He would pack a small bag, and talk to his brother to let him know they were on their way to see him, Lara, and the children. They had finished their meal, and Andy asked for the check. They finished the last of the wine, left the Club, and walked to Julie's car. Julie dropped him off at his building and Andy went in to pack some clothes, and place a comm-link call to Dennis. His brother was very glad to hear they were coming, but cautioned Andy about the recent events. His brother was a member of the Waverton Security Force, and he was aware of the recent events. Andy assured Dennis that the trip would be safe, and they would be at a local hotel in an hour's time. ***** Julie was waiting for him at the main gate, just as planned. She got out of the car, and into the passengers' seat as he put away his small overnight bag in the back seat. He got into the drivers seat, adjusted the mirrors, and Julie slid closer to him. She liked to rest her head on his shoulder as he drove her car. ***** The trip was uneventful, and quick. They pulled the car into a parking lot of a hotel, some two blocks away from where his brother lived. Andy went inside to register for a room, while Julie busied herself gathering their small overnight bags. She had them on the ground when Andy came back with the key for their room. He picked up the bags and handed her the key, as they went back inside of the hotel, and up to their room. Once inside, Andy placed their cases on the night stands. Julie had already collapsed on the bed, feigning exhaus-tion. He walked over to her, and knelt on the bed straddling her waist. He leaned over, Andy kissed her softly. Julie's arms went around his neck, as his kisses moved down her neck. Julie moaned, as his kisses began to arouse her. "Andy!" Her voice was husky, filled with desire. Her clothes suddenly became weighty, as she struggled to respond to his advances. She suddenly wished herself unen-cumbered by clothing. Andy got off of her, and lay beside her on the bed. Julie kicked off her shoes. She stood; she undid a snap and her dress slide from her body, then her slip followed. She reached up, her bra unclasped from the front. It dropped at her feet. In a moment, her panties were off and she lay down on the bed, unencumbered and free. Andy leaned over her, and he began to kiss her breasts. She stopped him. "Take off your clothes!" She hissed between clenched teeth. He stood and complied with her demand. ***** From the very beginning of their renewed relationship, Julie had been uninhibited . She had never been shy showing Andy the things that excited her. She had come to his bed, inexperienced, yet full of instinct. Andy knew that Julie could have a huge appetite when it came to lovemaking. She had never brushed away his overtures, and she never tired of initiating their sexual encounters. She had been the one to initiate their first encounter. Andy made sure that it was as pleasant for her as it had been for him. From that moment foreword, they had grown together. ***** Andy quickly stripped off his civilian clothes. He dared not travel in his uniform, in the event they were stopped, it could lead to an ugly scene. He lay next to her on the bed, and Julie leaned over him. She gently kissed him. "I love you." She whispered. She grasped him; he gasped, then relaxed as she gently rubbed his erection with her hand. His hand went to her head, as he brushed a lock of hair from her eyes, "I love you too." He spoke softly to her. Julie swung over him, straddling his pelvis. She leaned over him and rested on her forearms, she lowered herself to kiss him again. Their lips met, her tongue found his. Her hands went into his short hair; she gently stroked his head, and made a moaning sound. She rubbed her groin against his, as they kissed, savoring each moment they lay together. With his hands free, Andy gently caressed Julie's firm breasts, and rubbed them. They were not overly large, nor were they especially small. They were perfectly propor-tional to her body, and often worshipped by him. ***** Julie was 24, and stood five and a half feet tall. She had shoulder length auburn hair. There was nothing especially beautiful about her, nor was she plain, yet she was very beautiful. It was her eyes that had first drawn him to her. They were alert, and bright. She always had a smile on her face. It was that smile that had melted his heart. ***** Andy, on the other hand, had always been an achiever. He worked hard, and was very sober minded. Some would say he was intense. Andy was just over six-foot tall, and his body was toughened by strenuous exercise. Because he commanded 175 men in one of the most demanding of activities, field reconnaissance, he had always been better condition then most of his men. He knew that at 26, he was probably in better shape than any of his men, many of whom were younger then he. The fact that Andy was in excellent physical shape, had not gone unnoticed to Julie. She very much delighted in his hard body. Yet she had always noticed a tenderness in him. His touch was soft, and she couldn't help but notice that it was his very gentleness towards her that heightened her passion for sex when they were together. Andy had short cropped brown hair. He face was pleasant, but he didn't consider himself handsome. Julie grasped his erection, and with her thumb she rubbed the sensitive head. She felt her own desire begin to build, as they lay motionless. She straddled his pelvis, while he gently massaged her breasts, and kissed her neck and ears. She knew she wanted him, now. ***** They lay still now. Lovemaking had exhausted the two of them. Together, they had explored, licked and kissed each other until the early hours of the morning. Julie's head lay on his chest. He stirred in his sleep. She awoke, looked at his sleeping face, and drifted off to sleep again, content. ***** Julie was the first to awake. She got out of bed, and called room service for some breakfast. After she had made sure that the order was correct, she went into the bathroom to shower. As the warm water caressed her body, and she began to scrub herself, the shower door opened, and Andy stepped in to join her in the cascade of water. He kissed her as he stepped in, and stood behind her. Julie turned around to face him. She used the soap she had and began to lather his chest. She admired his muscled torso. He leaned against the tiled wall of the shower, enjoying her attention. He closed his eyes as she touched him in an intimate and familiar way. "Andy!" She said, as his arousal became apparent. She giggled softly. He took the soap from her, and in turn, began to lather her body. First her breasts, then her stomach, her thighs, and her legs. All felt his gentle touch. Julie turned around, and he lathered her back, and her pretty bottom. She turned back around, she closed her eyes, as he continued to wash away, Julie savored the light touch of his hands moving over her body. She opened her eyes, and looked at his face. He was busy feasting his eyes over her body. Her arms went to his neck. She clung to him. She turned him around, and leaned her back against the wall for support. Her left leg went around his waist, and with her right hand she grasped his erection. She guided him as he penetrated into her. Julie drew him in immedi-ately, and thrust against until he penetrated her fully. Julie wrapped both legs around his hips, Andy supported her weight by holding her and leaning her against the tile wall of the shower as they joined in heated passion. Her hips bucked against him as he thrust against her, moans were escaping from her lips. She had a far off look on her face. Julie lay her head on his left shoulder, giving herself over to his now urgent thrusts. Her first climax gripped her. Julie bit into his neck, as the climax heightened. Her hands gripping his buttocks as she spread her legs as wide as possible to accommodate him. "Andy!" She whispered, hoarsely, her climax subsiding. His now urgent thrusting became frantic, as he drove into her. Another climax built up inside of her. Julie threw her head back. "Now, Andy, now!" She cried, her voice urgent. Andy felt the pressure build up deep inside of him, his own climax became impossible to hold back any longer. He gasped. His head lay against her breasts, as he emptied into her welcoming loins. Julie unwrapped her legs from him, and stood her arms around his neck as she leaned on him for support, she dared not to move, her legs weak. She remained that way for a few moments, savoring the sensation. Andy stood still, to support her, as he kissed her neck. When Galaxies Collide Ch. 1 "Mmm, thank you." She said softly, returning his kiss. "My pleasure, missy," he replied, then kissed her; "You are a very good lover, Julie." "Thank you, Andy. So are you." She smiled, proud of his compliment. Andy turned off the warm stream of water, and stepped out of the shower. As Julie stepped out, Andy wrapped a towel around her, and began to dry her. He already had a towel wrapped around his own waist, as he attentively dried her off. As Julie dressed, their breakfast arrived. Andy still with the towel wrapped around his waist answered the door, and waited as the waiter brought in the cart. He handed the waiter a five credit bill, and went to the couch. Andy used the comm-link to call his brother's house. Lara, his sis-ter answered. "Hey, Andy" She said, "I understand you and Julie are go-ing to visit us?" "Yes. I called to see if we could come over." He replied. "Of course! How soon will you be here?" Lara asked. "We're two blocks away, at the Regent Hotel. I didn't want to put you two out, so we got a room here." Andy explained. "That's sweet, but you know you two are welcome here, anytime." Lara said. Andy smiled, Lara would never admit that the small two-bedroom apartment was too small for their now growing fam-ily. "I know thank you Lara." Andy said. "So you'll be over in a few minutes?" Lara asked. "Yes, as soon as we finish breakfast, and getting dressed." He replied. ***** Julie came into the small front room wearing a bright floral sundress. She smiled as she saw Andy lounging on the couch, with the towel still wrapped around his waist. "Better get dressed, Andy;" she admonished, "If you want to see your brother sometime today." He stood, his towel fell, but he caught it just as it unraveled itself and readjusting it, he walked into the bed-room to dress. ***** Andy came out of the bedroom, now fully clothed. He had dressed himself casually, wearing slacks, a green polo shirt, and running shoes. With his short hair brushed, and some cologne on, he felt really peppy, and looked foreword to this visit. Julie was at the table, she had set the table, and their food was still steaming on the trays they had arrived in from the hotel kitchen. "Andy, breakfast is ready." She said, licking some juice from her hand as she placed the omelet tray on the table. Andy came up behind her, and wrapped his arms around her waist. He kissed her left ear. "Good morning, my love." He said. Julie set down the final food tray. She placed her hands over his as he held her waist. Her back was to his stomach. "Mmm. I like it when you hold me." She said, dreamily. "I like to hold you very much, Julie." He said and kissed her on the neck. "Andy. Please, let's eat. We promised Lara we would be there shortly." Andy released his hold, and held out Julie's chair for her, as she seated herself. She opened the first tray of food. It was toast; she took two slices, and handed the tray to him. Next she took the omelet tray and spooned out some. ***** They held hands as they walked the two blocks to his brothers'. Dennis, Lara, and the children lived in a se-curity apartment. Because Dennis was a member of the Civil Security Force, his family lived in special quarters. Andy and Julie had to wait at a gate, while an armed guard notified Dennis of his guests’ arrival. Andy presented his Military Identification, and Julie her driver's license. The guard was pleasant, yet professional. Dennis arrived at the gate, and held out his arms. Andy hugged his brother, while Julie kissed him warmly on the cheek. The three of them walked to Dennis' apartment, chatting and laughing all the way. Lara was feeding the baby, when the three of them entered the apartment. Willy, the three-year-old, was taking his noontime nap, and was in the bedroom he shared with his infant sister. Lara waved to them, from the kitchen, and motioned them in. "Well, hello you two. So good to see you. Oh Julie, you look disgustingly beautiful! Come on in and join the conflict!" She held out the front of her own blouse, stained with baby food and laughed. "Hello, Lara." Julie smiled, and went into the kitchen to join her future sister. Andy and Dennis went into the living room. A large screen television stood against one wall; the screen was on, showing the highlights of the past few days events. Dennis spoke first. "The S.I.A. is moving. Federation units are trying to intercept them before they can make a move on the capital. This is going to be ugly, Andy." He sighed, and fell silent. "Denny, don't worry. You and your family are safe here. Waverton is of no value to the rebels. The security here is good, and you have the 3009th battalion here. They're a good unit." Andy said. "It still doesn't make my job any easier, Andy." Dennis said, then fell silent. Lara and Julie came out into the living room. Julie was holding Megan. She sat down next to Andy, and held up the baby. "Megan, this is your Uncle Andy." She cooed to the tiny infant. Megan grunted, and held out her hands to her mother, she started to bawl. Andy looked at his niece, and kissed her nose. He lifted her, and handed her to Lara. "Here you go, Sis." He said, as Lara took the child. "Thank you." Lara said, "but I'm getting tired of her." She kissed the baby's belly and blew. The baby squealed. Lara carried her and she sat in a rocking chair. From the side of the chair, Lara pulled out a juice bottle and began to feed Megan. Julie held Andy's upper arm, as they sat on the large overstuffed couch. "Andy, wouldn't you like to have a child?" She asked, softly. The hint was clear. He looked at her, smiled, and said, "Of course I would. Someday." "I would too." She said, finally. "So when are you two going to make it final?" Lara asked. Julie looked at Andy questioningly. "I guess after I graduate." Julie said. Andy took her hand, and patted it. "No. As soon as possible, Julie." He announced. Andy had been watching the television. The reports he had glanced at had alarmed him. ***** The Separatists Isolationists' organization consisted of two parts. There was the S.I.A., or the Separatist Isola-tionist Army, and there was the S.I.O., the Separation Isolation Organization the political and propaganda arm. Together they quarreled, but when separated and with a vision; they were a formidable thorn in the side of the Federation. The S.I.A., without consent from the S.I.O., had been the first to make their move and the S.I.O. had been left to try to provide some sort of propaganda angle to satisfy their support from among the rank and file of their membership, and sympathizers. The Separatist Isolationist Army had been a real grass roots organization. From the beginning they had stood against everything that the Federation stood for. Halver-staadt had long been a haven from the vast bureaucracy that made up the Federation. Their slogan had often been something like, “With one hundred and three planets in your grasp, why Halverstaadt?’ A former unnamed, unknown Federation Army had led the Separatists. There were rumors as to his identity, but nothing concrete. Federation Intelligence was still trying to put a face to the man. The man, now known as Commandant Alpha, had decided to i-crease the pressure on the Federation forces committed to Halverstaadt. The plan had been to seize control of the capital, disarm the Federation Army, man the existing weapon systems, and hold at bay any Federation reinforce-ments until the rest of Halverstaadt had been subdued by his forces. The S.I.A. had been well equipped with a vast array of Federation issue weaponry. Many of the Army arsenals had been plundered during the previous year. Assault rifles, cannons, even armored vehicles had been stolen, as sentries were murdered while they stood their watch, unaware of the silent threat that lurked in the darkness just beyond their visual range. By Federation estimates, the stolen arms had been enough to equip seven thousand soldiers according to the standard issue used by the average Federation soldier. The first plan had been to cut off Metrodelphia, and oc-cupy it on three sides. Metrodelphia was the communica-tions center of Halverstaadt. To the east lay the sea Inland Sea; escape would be difficult for forces trapped inside of the city. With Metrodelphia occupied, and dis-armed, that would leave his foe in utter disarray, and un-able to make a major move against the S.I.A. A third of the Federation Army would be eliminated or held captive if Met-rodelphia fell. ***** Julie smiled as Andy explained to her that the safest place she could be was at Fort Zhukarov, as a dependent. She would be safe, and secure there. The fort had plenty of underground bunkers to protect the dependents of army per-sonnel, even if he was in harm's way. Julie listened to his logic happily. She was glad to see he meant business. She had waited a long time for him to make good on his pro-posal. "Julie, he's right. Tolsit is a logical target. I'd take him up on his offer, before he comes to his senses." Lara was teasing him. "Oh, I will!" Julie said, then added, "Come Monday morn-ing." "No problem. Won't have any honeymoon, but I know you'll be safe." Andy said. "Oh? Do you know something I don't?" She asked. "Not specifically, I'm just reading the signs of the times." Andy said, and pointed to the television. ***** They stayed until after dinner. Andy decided they had better go back to the hotel, and get their belongings ready. They would leave first thing in the morning. Julie had wanted to stay awhile longer, as she played with the baby, and Willy. Lara had been thankful for female compan-ionship, and had been disappointed to see Julie and Andy leave so soon. Dennis escorted the two of them to the security gate, and held his older brother, hugging him as he said his fare-wells. Julie kissed him, and waved as Andy took her hand and led her through the gate. "Andy, I think we should have stayed longer. We were only there for six hours, and we had so much to talk about." Julie complained. Andy stopped. He looked at her. "Yes. You are right. But please listen to me. All hell is breaking loose. We have to get back to Tolsit. I know my unit will be placed on alert before morning. Julie, this is really serious, I must stress this to you. I want you safe and sound. We will be back at the base in an hour's time. You can spend the night in my room. I have another cot for guests, and at least I'll know you are all right." Andy was stern, but gentle as he spoke to her. Julie knew that he was worried about her safety, and she relented. "I know you are concerned about my safety. Thank you, you're very sweet." She said, and lifting his hand she kissed it, as a sign of peace. ***** The drive back to Tolsit had been quick. Andy drove fast, and very defensively. His eyes scanning ahead, and to the rear as he pushed Julie's car to the maximum. The trip had taken forty minutes, and Andy sighed in re-lief when he passed through the main gate of Fort Zhukarov. He parked the car in the lot in front of his barracks building, and grabbed their belongings from the back seat. Andy escorted Julie inside of the building, and walked her to his room. Julie had spent the night here before. When they had first become intimate. She balked at spending the night here recently, because it was too military. Several officers had wives and girlfriends living with them in the Officer's quarters. There were even several women officers with civilian husbands living in the same building. Julie placed her bag on the only single cot in the room. Andy began to set up another bed to place next to the one already standing. She put her clothes in an empty dresser she had used in the past, and then went off to use the women's room while Andy arranged the furniture in the small but adequate quarters. ***** Commandant Alpha had deployed his forces in a classic pincer movement. The Metrodelphia Defense Force, which consisted of a Brigade of some six thousand Army. As the Federation forces moved to engage the rebels, or-ders had been issued to stop the rebels by any means short of deadly force. Tear gas, water cannons, and stun grenades had been issued. The Federation units faced a foe armed with real gun tanks and cannons. The battle lasted twenty minutes. The Federation units fell back into the city. Seven hundred men and women in Federation uniform died where they stood. The Defense Force commander was relieved of his command by the acting gover-nor of Halverstaadt. The battle for Metrodelphia had begun. ***** Andy and Julie lay in bed discussing their future. Julie had talked with her father to let him know where she was, and where she was staying. She also told him that Andy and her would be wed on Monday, privately in the military records office. Admiral Bertholf had accepted the news with calm. He con-gratulated the both of them, and said he would be at the records office to witness their marriage. Julie let her father know she was happy, and this was what she really wanted, even above her planned public service career. Her father said that he understood, and blessed their un-ion. Julie thanked her father for his understanding, and gave him her love. ***** Sunday, they had gone out to the Officer’s club for a late brunch. The rest of the day was spend basking in each other's company until evening when Andy wanted to go to the Operations desk to check on his unit's alert status. Julie waited in the room, listening to music, until his return. ***** Monday morning, at 0700, Andy placed the first call that would establish their union as husband and wife. He called the military records office for an appointment. Next he called Admiral Bertholf's office to inform the Ad-miral of their scheduled appointment time. Andy called his battalion commander, and asked his permission to skip morning muster. Colonel Watts had been happy for his subordinate, and allowed the Captain to use three days leave, provided he didn't leave Tolsit. Andy thanked his commander, and informed Julie of the events. Julie was especially happy that they would have three days together, away from the fort to enjoy as a honeymoon. She suggested the Tolsit Arms hotel, and Andy called to book a room for them. ***** Their appointment had been at 0930. Andy and Julie were there early. Her father arrived just as they were being ushered into the interview area. A clerk took down their vital information, and a nurse took a tissue sample, for DNA records. When they were done there, they went to the next cubicle, where a license for marriage was issued. The license would be forwarded to payroll, so Julie could receive an allot-ment from Andy's paycheck. Finally, when all was done, the ceremony has held in a small chapel. "I will perform the ceremony." Admiral Bertholf announced, "She's my only child, and I can think of no better way to show her my love than to do this for her." Julie was surprised at her father's decision, and wept as she flew into his arms to thank him. Admiral Bertholf, as a Star Fleet Command Flag Officer, had per-formed many marriage ceremonies for his crew when he had been a ship's captain. He would now perform one last mar-riage ceremony for his daughter. Julie had brought a white, full-length dress with her. It was brand new, and she had planned on wearing it for an entirely different occasion, but it would suffice for this one. Andy was wearing his full dress uniform. Admiral Bertholf was also in his full dress uniform, lending dignity to the occasion. The ceremony was over quickly, and Andy and Julie Seah were now officially husband and wife. Admiral Bertholf was the first to congratulate Andy on being a part of his fam-ily. Julie was very serene, she had anticipated this day for so long, that she now had a hard time grasping the fact that she and Andy would never be apart. A tranquil smile was on her lips, as she held Andy's arm. He led her out of the Military Records building and to her car. Their first stop was at Julie's father's house. She changed her clothes, and together, they loaded some of her things into the car. These things would stay at her new home in the barracks. When they had finished, they went back to the barracks, and packed their cases again for the three-day honeymoon. ***** Commandant Alpha had committed all of his immediate strength to the capture of Metrodelphia. He had other units organizing and training, but his force of eighteen thousand had been deployed to surround the capital city. He now out-numbered Federation forces two to one, and he held the high ground outside of the city. With the Federation forces still smarting from their re-cent spanking, the Commandant would try one irreversible action. He would bring up his artillery to within range and start to bombard the city. The S.I.O. propaganda machine was now in full motion, warning the citizens of Metrodelphia to go to civil defense shelters, for the liberation of their city was at hand. The Federation had tried to destroy the rebel positions with aircraft, but intelligence had not known that the re-bels had strong anti-aircraft defenses in place around the city. The Federation fighters and bombers were quickly turned back or destroyed. The city was open to occupation, and nothing could be done. There would be a bloody fight. ***** Andy carried his bride over the threshold of the hotel room where they would be for the next three days. Julie had changed again at the barracks, into a pale yellow mid length skirt with matching jacket. Andy had decided to wear his service uniform. It was easier to be in than his full dress, and yet in the event of recall, he would be ready to identify himself as a Federa-tion Officer. Room service had placed a bottle of Champaign in the room on ice, and a tray of food was on a cart next to one of the walls in the front room. The suite they checked into had a full front room, a large bedroom, and a separate bath just off of the master bed-room. Andy walked around the suite, still carrying Julie in his arms. She was pointing out details of the suite, and made comments about various things she liked. Andy brought her to the bed, and laid her on it. He lay next to her; she turned on her side to kiss him. Her hands going to his cheeks as she savored the long gentle kiss. "Are you happy, Julie?" He asked. "Andy, this is the best moment of my life. Thank you." She cooed, as she held his head between her hands. "Julie, I want you to know that you are the best thing in my life. I couldn't be more happy then I am right now. Thank you for being my wife, and loving me." He spoke quietly. Her eyes softened. His words had touched her heart. "Andy, I want you to know that from the moment I met you, I knew you were special. I am going to be a good wife to you. I just love you so much. Do you remember the day we met?" She asked. "Yes. At the college." He said. "Yes, in the registrar's office. Well I'll tell you something I have never told you before. From the moment I met you, I fell in love with you, but I wanted to make sure you were for real. I mean, when I met you, it was as though you were too good to be real. I wanted you then and there." Julie laughed, then added, "Right on the floor, I didn't care!" "I didn't know, but I'll tell you one thing. I wouldn't change one moment of our time together for anything. To me, everything was perfect as it happened, when it happened." He put his arm around her head and pulled her to him. She lay her head on his shoulder, and Andy kissed her forehead. When Galaxies Collide Ch. 1 "I wouldn't change anything either, Andy. I'm glad we are as we now are." She said, and held him tighter. ***** They made love for the first time as husband and wife. Andy was trying too hard to please her. He had already climaxed twice in her and she, well she had lost count of how many times she had reached orgasm, but one thing was for sure, she was beginning to get very sore. 'This marathon love making session has got to come to an end,' she decided. Besides she had to pee! "Please Andy, hurry!" She urged him. Andy's rhythm increased, and his body stiffened, as he climaxed inside of her. Julie felt the warmth of his semen spread deep inside of her again, as he relaxed on top of her. She held him for a few moments, and talked softly to him, finally, she rushed into the bathroom to relieve herself. When she returned to the bed, Andy lay on his back, look-ing at her. She lay down next to him; he wrapped his arm around her as she lay her head on his chest. They drifted off into a deep slumber. ***** The Federation forces had dug in. This time, there were no orders of apprehending the bad guys. Deadly force was authorized, and Star Fleet Command had been notified to send by way of troop transport the 12th Division from the neighboring Kimble system. They would arrive in a month. The rebels announced their intent to attack by way of a massive artillery bombardment. For six hours, artillery shell after artillery shell found their way into the de-fense positions of the Federation troops. While the Federation forces had set up shelters for their personnel for just this event, the rebel artillery did cause considerable damage, and to an extent demoralize the troops. During this time, Federation artillery countered. Several of the rebel guns were taken out of action, but it was never enough to lessen the impact of the incoming barrage. When the artillery attack ceased, the rebels began their advance on the city. Armored fighting vehicles announced the first wave, with infantry units close behind the metal monsters. As the armor approached, Federation bombers supported by fighters swooped down on the advancing army. Tank after tank was stilled. Explosions boomed out, as the concussion bombs consumed whole units. Men were turned into boneless jelly as the horrific weapons were unleashed from above. Anti-aircraft missiles were fired, and the fighters dropped flares and fired off chaff canis-ters to confuse the missiles, while the bombers beat a hasty retreat. But the damage had been done. The first re-bel attack was halted after advancing only one mile. The Federation had easily won the second round of the conflict. Over two thousand rebels lay dead in less than one hour. The rebel artillery barrage had cost the Federa-tion some three hundred of its finest soldiers and airmen. The cost had been all too high for both sides. ***** Andy was awakened early in the morning by the shrill squeal of the comm-link. He threw on his robe and went into the living room to answer it. The image on the screen was that of Colonel Watts. "Captain Seah. I am very sorry to have to do this to you and your new bride, but we have been mobilized and we will move out at 1600 hours. I must ask you top return to Bat-talion as soon as you are able to. Do you understand Cap-tain?" "Yes sir. I understand. I am to return to Fort Zhukarov as soon as possible. I'll report to Battalion some time around noon, sir." Andy replied. "Thank you Andy. I'll make it up to you as soon as I can. You have my word." The Colonel reached towards the screen, and it went blank. Andy went into the bedroom to inform Julie of the events. ***** Julie was not very happy as Andy parked the car in front of his barracks building. She had decided to remain at the barracks, because he had asked her to. Julie was wringing her hands, tears trailing down her eyes, as she kissed him good bye. "Take care of yourself, Andy." She said, and burst out crying. "Julie, we don't know what's going on yet. Get a hold of yourself. I'll go to Battalion, and as soon as I know what's happening, I'll let you know." He reassured her. ***** Colonel Watts was at his office making final arrangements for the battalions' mobilization. Andy reported to his su-perior officer. The Colonel returned Andy's salute, and had his Reconn Company commander take a seat. "Andy, I'm glad to see you. Sorry about the recall. Here's the situation. The S.I.A. has Metrodelphia surrounded. To-day the rebels engaged our units with long range artillery. They did some real damage to our boys. Now I know that you are a native of Halverstaadt, and I understand that these are your countrymen that we are about to fight. If you choose, I will have you reassigned to some other Federation unit away from here. I need to know one thing. Can I count on you, or are your loyalties to this planet too deep." The Colonel waited as Andy thought through his answer. "Sir. I grew up on this planet after my parents were killed. They ran a small transport from Kronin 3 to Hal-verstaadt. They ferried medical supplies for the victims on Kronin when that planet was hit by the hyperfluenzia epi-demic. I don't really remember too much about them. My mothers' sister raised us here. She died during my final year in college. I have no real loyalties to anyone except the Federation. They put me through college, and helped my brother to join the civil security force here. My Father had been a Star Fleet Command officer. He was injured and had to be discharged. So I guess if anything, I owe my allegiance to the Federation. Sir, you can count on me to execute my job to the best I am capable of doing it." Andy looked at his superior officer and let his words sink in. "Andy, I am very glad to hear that. I knew you were. Now I have to have you sign a loyalty statement. I'm sorry, but before I can allow you to resume your command I have been mandated by 18 Command to have all officers who are na-tives, married to locals, and who have been stationed on Halverstaadt for more than five years to sign these loyalty statements. So here's the form, read it and sign it. Then I'll fill you in on all of the details concerning our mo-bilization orders." ***** The planet of Halverstaadt was almost the size of earth. Our Earth measures approximately 24,000 miles at its equator. Halverstaadt's circumference was 22,215 miles at its equator. Halverstaadt had two moons, both of which had been utilized as space ports for the Federation. There were three major cities, all on either an Inland Sea, or on a river that fed the inland seas. MMetrodelphia was the second largest of Halverstaadt’s cities, with Tolsit being the major population center. Tolsit was also the most heavily defended by the Federa-tion. It was on the Butarro River, some six hundred kilome-ters from the great Inland Sea and nine hundred kilometers south of Metrodelphia. The third largest city was on the other side of the planet, called Heddrikks. That was the industrial center of the planet. The Federation had always used local citizens to man each planet's defenses. On Halverstaadt, over 85% of Federation personnel had been natives, or had lived on there for five or more years. With over 130,000 personnel on the Federation payroll, in-cluding civil security forces, out of a total population on Halverstaadt of just over 28 million, there was real con-cern about the Federation losing it's grip on this vital planet. If Halverstaadt were lost, then the Federation would loose its major supplier of titanium, for Halverstaadt was rich with this vital metal. Star Fleet Command Command Ships, and star cruisers hulls were constructed entirely with this ele-ment. If Halverstaadt were lost, then chaos would reign. Halverstaadt could ask it's own price for titanium, and the Federation would have to pay. ***** Andy read the loyalty oath. "Colonel. I can't help but notice that this is the same oath that I already swore to when I was sworn in as a Sec-ond Lieutenant. Sir, I'll sign it, but it seems to me to be a bit redundant." "I know, Captain. I think that Sector 18 Command is getting a bit paranoid. The stakes here are very high, but you don't need me to tell you this." The Colonel went back to his papers. Andy signed the form. He had no problem. He was an officer of the Army of the Federation. Andy handed Colonel Watts the form. The Colonel looked it over. "Andy. I want you to know I had to sign one of these too. I found it in bad taste." He said dryly, then added, "Well, now that this is done, I'll fill you in on what our assign-ment is. Your company will be transported by air to Met-rodelphia. You'll load up in A.P.C.'s and be flown to here." The Colonel pointed on his map of Halverstaadt to an area about fifty kilometers south of Metrodelphia. "Your job is to find, and neutralize any rebel artillery and anti-aircraft defenses. This is a tough job, but I know that your unit will be all right. You have been trained for this job, and you have proven that your reconn unit is an elite outfit. Good luck. The rest of the battalion will be here, about twenty-five klicks away. We'll be there to sup-port you. I'll be there to support you, Captain. Any ques-tions?" The Colonel asked. "Sir, when do we depart?" Andy asked. "At 0200 hours." The Colonel replied. "Sir. Julie, my wife is alone here. She's in the barracks, and I need to let her know what's going on. May I talk to her?" "No problem. Report to the airdrome at zero hundred. Andy, don't worry about her. I'll have my wife drop by and visit her. Rachel is good. She'll put your new wife at ease. You be careful out there. These guys mean business." The Colo-nel said, and walked over to the door. Andy had been dis-missed. "Andy, I mean it. Take care of yourself." The Colonel gave a final warning. ***** Andy went back to his room at the barracks. Julie had been sleeping. He sat on the bed next to her, and leaned over to kiss her. She awoke. "Andy?" She said. "Julie. I have to leave at midnight. I'll be gone for awhile. But I'll be back. There's trouble near Metrodel-phia, and I've been assigned to help stop it. Julie, the Colonel's wife will come by to see how you're doing." He said. "Andy. I called daddy's office, and he's gone too. Andy, what am I going to do?" She asked. "Julie. Listen. You'll be okay. Go to the personnel office and see if they have any openings for employment. Do what-ever it takes until I get back. I promise you I'll be back, my love." He said. ***** Andy joined his company at the Aerodrome in Tolsit. They were rushed to Metrodelphia by military transport where they had loaded into four armored personnel carriers. Two transport aircraft would carry them to their drop point east out over the sea, they would turn west to the drop point. The transport aircraft would not land again until they returned to Metrodelphia. This would be a high alti-tude drop. The A.P.C.'s would be dropped from the trans-ports, and a drag chute would open. This would keep the A.P.C.'s from tumbling as they free fell. At one thousand feet they would deploy their four main parachutes and land. The A.P.C.'s would proceed to their operations area and from there to the attack point. The first three of four A.P.C.'s carried fifty men each, the first, and second and third section. The fourth A.P.C. carried Andy and his headquarters platoon, twenty-six men in all along with communications gear, extra ammunition and rations. The A.P.C.'s rolled foreword, one under each wing of the massive transports. When all four were in place under the transports' wings, hydraulic arms locking the A.P.C.'s into place, while the transports waited on the runway. When both transports had their cargo stowed under each wing, they began the pre-flight procedure, and taxi to the launcher. Andy had been notified that the transport was ready to launch from its catapult. "Get ready for launch." He shouted. The huge transports' eight engines roared to maximum power. Andy closed his eyes, and leaned back into his seat. The jolt from the catapult launch caused him to black out momentarily. As the blood returned to his head, he looked around at each of his men. They were all right. He gave the thumbs up signal. Each in turn returned the sign. Andy closed his eyes for the rest of the trip. ***** He must have dozed off. The jumpmaster tapped him on the shoulder. "Sir, three minutes to drop." The Staff Sergeant said. Andy opened his eyes, and shook his head. He glanced at his men. 'They're scared.' he said to himself. 'Hell, I am too.' he admitted to himself. A klaxon sounded, the jumpmaster scurried up a ladder, and into the transport. The lights went out, as the electrical system from the transport was switched over to the battery system of the A.P.C. The klaxon sounded again, and the A.P.C. began its free fall. Andy's stomach leaped into his throat as the A.P.C. fell clear of the transport. The four A.P.C.'s would free fall from an altitude of thirty thousand feet, and the pilot chute would deploy at twenty-five thousand feet. The pilot would slow down their descent only slightly, but the A.P.C.'s would not tumble as they fell. The four main drag chutes would be automatically deployed when an altitude of one thousand feet had been reached. Andy had been through this exercise many times before. He knew the drill, and so did his men. ***** The A.P.C. landed with a jolt. Andy got out of his seat, and went foreword to the command cupola. He grabbed the optical headset, and scanned for the other three A.P.C.'s. They were all within fifty meters of him. It was a dark moonless night, which was rare, considering that Halverstaadt had two moons in its orbit. One night in fifty-three, they had been fortunate. The darkness would aid them. His group had been given the call sign of "Intruder". "Intruder leader to all units, check in." He spoke into the mike which was attached to his headset. "Intruder One, we're all set Leader." Came the first reply. That would be 1st Lt. Samuels. "Intruder Three. All set Leader." That was 1st Lt. Cohen. Number two A.P.C. did not answer. The number two A.P.C. began to move towards his. The hatch at the top opened, as a head popped out. An arm began to wave. Andy knew that the short wave radio on number two was out, they would have to fix it as they moved. "Sergeant Pherson, get on over to number two. Their radio is out. Let them know we're going to move out, have them follow number three." Andy shouted down into the A.P.C. belly. "Sir!" Came the reply. Andy grabbed the infrared signal lamp and flashed number two's section leader a message, an electronics tech was on the way. The four A.P.C.'s began to move slowly while the radio on number two A.P.C. was being fixed. ***** The rebels had not noticed the airdrop of the four Armored Personnel Carriers. The darkness, as well as the added cover of low clouds had done much to mask the team's insertion into rebel territory. The "Intruder" reconnais-sance team reached their area of operations, now they would begin their search for the rebel artillery pieces, and the anti-aircraft missiles. ***** The A.P.C.'s had been covered with camouflage netting and sentries were set. Andy liked their defensive positions. His headquarters group would provide security for the A.P.C.'s while the rest of the company searched for the re-bel positions. ***** Andy led the first patrol. They had been gone for about an hour. His point man motioned the patrol to the ground. Andy crawled foreword to his point man. "What's up, Tom." He said to the Sergeant. "Sir, right there." He replied. Andy grabbed his night-scope and scanned the area. Several heat traces showed. The outline of men moving, and vehicles running. Andy looked at his map. He had the co-ordinates. "Tom, get Simmons up here." Andy said. Another man joined them. A hand reached out; Andy took the mouthpiece, and placed the earphones on his head. "Intruder leader to Hot Pocket." He whispered into the mouthpiece. "Hot Pocket here." Came the reply. "Hot Pocket, I have a fire mission. Co-ordinates Uniform Delta Three One, over." "Roger Intruder Leader, co-ordinates Uniform Delta Three One. Verify." They had asked Andy to give his personnel code over the radio to verify his identity. "Hot Pocket, Lima Tango One One Nine. Over." He replied finally. "Confirmed. Intruder will fire three rounds for effect. Adjust to target, Over." They waited. In another minute a rushing sound came from overhead. The first explosion set off other larger explo-sions. With the next two, the night erupted into day as am-munition, fuel and men all burned up by the shells from the 200mm howitzers from the Federation guns found their mark. Andy watched the maelstrom from his hidden position. He waited until the smoke had cleared, and the darkness re-turned. "Hot Pocket, this is Intruder. Good job. You just wiped out a supply dump. Intruder out." They resumed their night patrol. ***** With the loss of their major supply dump, Commandant Alpha knew two things were apparent. First he could not fight a prolonged struggle. Half of his artillery shells had been destroyed, and one third of his fuel reserves. The loss in men had been small; it was the material that had hurt their cause the most. Secondly he knew that he had Federation units in his se-cure rear areas. He would have to search them out. "Get me Colonel Hawke." He said. ***** The night patrol returned to their positions an hour before dawn. As the first sentry challenged their passage, Andy gave them the code word for the day. "Rock Hardy." He said, and smiled. 'Who the hell thought that one up?' he asked himself. "Pass." The sentry replied. The patrol passed. Andy went to the command A.P.C. and wrote his report of that night's action. When he had written his report, and had it transmitted to Battalion, he called his Section Leaders together. He filled them in on that night’s action. As he was about to dismiss them he added, "Gentlemen. From this point on we must assume that the enemy knows we are present in their rear echelon. Instruct your men to be especially careful, and use the proper precautions. I don't want to lose any-one. We have been trained for this kind of mission, and we can carry it out successfully. If we are careful we all will be going home together, alive and well. You each have fifty men at your command. It is your job to see that they are rested, and ready to carry out their job. Be leaders by example. Command! Now, are there any questions?" He looked at his three Section Leaders. "No? Then Ted. You remain. The rest of you are dismissed until 1600." The other two Section Leaders left and went back to their men. Only 1st Lt. Cohen remained. "Ted. I want you to send out a patrol. A day patrol to here. I'm going to have Staff Sergeant Larks lead it. He's a veteran." Andy pointed to the map. "This is where the supply dump was. I want him to assess the damage. I want photos and his report when he returns. Any questions." "None sir. I'll brief him." The Lieutenant said. "No. I'll brief him. I want you aware of where he's going. You'll be leading another day patrol to here. Photo reconn shows that this is a relay station for the radar feed." Andy showed the Lieutenant on the map. "I want you to take half of your section with you, the 1st platoon. I want time delay charges set if you find what I suspect you'll find. I believe this is one of their air defenses networking radar units. Aircraft sensors show no ra-dar emissions. You'll know when you find it. Let me show you something." Andy pulled out some photos.
