They almost have to be declawed and kept indoors, and have a litter box that we humans have to clean. We have to feed them what they want, and pretty much when they want it. They come when they damn well feel like it and ignore us more often than not. Pet them when they aren't in the mood? Forget it, they'll just walk or run just far enough away to be out of your reach. Let's face it, they aren't the pet, we are. They tolerate us and train us, not the other way around. Now with that said, I'll also add that there are times when all of that isn't a bad thing at all. I mean take for example Roscoe, my neighbor's cat. Well, just read on and you'll soon see just what I mean when I say they are in control of us, like it or not. This all starts at Between The Buns, a nice, but noisy restaurant in Mishawaka, Indiana, as I talk to my friend Murray. Chapter One "Okay Murray, what do you think about cats?" "Never had one, but I hear they taste like frog legs, which, as you've probably heard, taste like fishy chicken." "I see you're going to be a lot of help." "Well if you don't like that, then use barbeque sauce." "Shut up and listen to my story. Jodie, my neighbor has..." "I know Jodie. Long of leg and hair and too pale for me, but she seems nice enough." "Apparently that beer you're drinking is past your limit. Okay, so you know Jodie. She's separated from Ben, her hubby." "What does this have to do with cats? Don't they like how cats taste either?" I chose to ignore him because I was determined to tell him my story. "Murray, Roscoe...that's their cat... escaped and ran over to my place the other day. Now as I was going to say before you went weird on me, that cat is very important to her. Well, when I opened my door to go out, that damn cat ran between my legs and into my house. That's where things went from bad to worse. Have you ever chased a cat through the house trying to catch them, when they have the opposite goal in mind?" "Nope." "I'm here to tell you, that can be nearly impossible. I had to call Jodie to come over and help me catch that damn cat." "Glad that issue was resolved. Want another beer?" "I'll just finish this one, but if you want another one I'll drag you out when we leave." "You sound bitter. Did you and Jodie have a fight?" "Hell no, but...okay, it went like this." "Wait. Before you start, where was your girlfriend while you and Jodie weren't fighting?" "Wendy was at work I guess, but I don't know, and that has nothing to do with this story." "It would if she knew about Jodie." "Damn it Murray, Jodie and I didn't do anything wrong." "I hope Wendy believes you." I just sat back in my chair and stared at him for a second. "I called Jodie and she came over to help me catch Roscoe and it went something like this. When Jodie came in, I told her that Roscoe was last seen behind the couch so we went to the living room. When we went in, there as proud and regal as a male lion looking over his pride, was Roscoe on the arm of my couch. Jodie just smiled and calmly walked over to Roscoe to pick him up, and that damn cat was gone like a shot, off to the kitchen and Jodie ended up knocking the lamp off of the end table as she grabbed for him. Jodie looked at me and with the thinnest of smiles apologized and we went after the cat again." "Were either of you laughing or smiling?" "I was trying to smile, but I don't know how well I did. So there was Roscoe under the kitchen table licking his paw and washing his face without a care in the world. He wasn't even watching us. I blocked the doorway to the dining room and Jodie went for Roscoe. That damn cat just sauntered out to her like nothing had ever happened." Our beers were gone so I asked for the check and Murray called his girlfriend Lynn. When she answered he smiled, pushed a button on his phone and said, "Hey, it's me, how are you?" "I'm horny." "So if I come home mostly sober will you be mostly naked?" "If you come home mostly sober I'll be totally naked." "You know I'll be there hon. Anything else to share before we close this dirty call?" "I have the camera out." "Is this going where I think it is?" "If you want to." "You know I do. Oh, one more thing before I go love. I'm here with Sam and my phone has been on speaker." "Damn you Murray, has Sam been listening to what I've been saying?" "He's listening and drooling hon." "I'm going to wring your neck when you get here." I took the phone from Murray and told her, "I expect to see some of those photos you sexy woman." "Sam, I'm going kill him." "I'm holding my breath until I see you again hon." "Tell Murray I said bye and to just get here." "Bye love," and I closed the phone and handed it back. On the way out of the restaurant Murray smiled and said, "Okay, you go back to chasing cats and I'll go home to naked Lynn." "Up yours Murray, and you just better hope Lynn is still talking to you." With that we went our separate ways and I went home. Home only to have that damn cat slam between my legs again and race to the living room while I screamed at him. Then I called Jodie. There was a slight edge to her voice as she asked me, "Sam, not again, how did he get in you're house?" "The first question is, how did he get out of yours? In an almost whining tone she told me, "I don't know, have you tried to catch him?" "No I haven't. I was just sure you would want to share in that adventure." "Damn it. Okay, I'll be there in a minute," and the line went dead. When she arrived I didn't bother to try for a smile, but kept my voice friendly. "Okay, the one that catches him gets a free dinner at a restaurant compliments of the other one." "You're on." Roscoe had moved under the small kitchen table again, so she got on her knees and I stared at her butt as she tried to sweet talk Roscoe into coming to her. Of course, that didn't work. Instead, he moved and she grabbed for him only to send him just out of her reach, and sliding on the smooth surface, he ended up at the far end, and then raced back under the table...and just sat there looking at her. I tried to tell myself that one day, some time in the future, I would look back on this and laugh. Jodie looked at me and then looked down and once again tried to smooth talk Roscoe into cooperating. Of course that didn't work, so as I tried to block the doorway out of the kitchen, Jodie once again showed me her shorts clad butt as she got onto her knees and cooed at Roscoe, who seemed completely at ease and unimpressed...and then all hell broke loose. Jodie lunged for Roscoe, Roscoe got away, the kitchen table tilted just enough to knock a dish to the floor and Jodie ended up on her ass in the jelly that was in that dish. She slid, Roscoe dove between my legs and escaped, and trying to get up, Jodie managed to get jelly on her hands and arms. I ran over to help Jodie and slid in the jelly and ended up close to her, but too unsteady to do anything for a minute. I managed to get my feet under me and helped Jodie to stand up, she was so mad her face was turning red and I discovered Jodie really knew how to swear. And Roscoe? He was under the dining room table licking his paw and washing his face again. In the meantime, Jodie was still fuming and in her anger she grabbed at her long hair that was out of control and threw it back, and in the process got jelly in her hair. Jodie stormed out with Roscoe calmly following her and I cleaned the kitchen. About an hour later Jodie called and told me, "I'm sorry about the cat and the mess in your kitchen." "That's okay, no major damage done." "What was an open dish of jelly doing on your table anyway?" "It wasn't open, it had a lid on it, but I guess I didn't have it on tight enough. I sort of forgot to put it away before I went to have dinner with Murray. I'll make sure the next time Roscoe pulls his tricks that the jelly isn't out. How's your butt?" "My what?" "Your butt, you landed pretty hard and right on that small bowl." "My butt is just fine thank you." "I agree it is, but did you bruise it?" She hung up on me. I guess she was still pretty upset about Roscoe and the jelly. Chapter Two All of that had happened Sunday evening, and for the next several days, things settled down. I had a chance to talk to Murray over coffee Thursday after work and he told me, "Well, Lynn wasn't so mad. In fact she was half smiling when I got there, but she kept saying things like, I can't believe you let Sam hear me talk sexy like that. Of course I couldn't stop smiling because I thought that was a riot." "You are so lucky she's tolerant of your craziness." "I got some photos too." "Of course she told you to never ever share any of them." "She told me that if there was ever any showing of them, she would do that herself." "That's good to know, because now I can drive her crazy too." He laughed and said, "That's what I was hoping you'd say." So Murray wasn't in trouble and that meant I didn't have to go to Lynn and apologize on bended knee even though the phone stunt wasn't my doing. Friday night, Wendy and I had burgers at Red Robin and then went back to my place for a glass of wine. I still wasn't sure if my Roscoe story would amuse her, but I told her anyway. "Okay so where did Roscoe end up," she asked me. "Under the dining room table washing himself, calm as could be." "And you were where again?" "Still in the kitchen with my arms around Jodie." I couldn't believe I phrased it that way, but it was too late. "What do you mean your arms around Jodie?" "We were both still slipping on the jelly and I was trying to keep her from falling again." "And just how long did you have to have your arms around her to protect her?" "Oh, I don't know, five or ten minutes I guess." I smiled and then quickly added, "Just for a few seconds is all." "You aren't very funny." "Neither was chasing that damn cat." "So what are you doing so it won't happen again?" "I'm not doing anything, because it isn't my cat." "So this could happen again." "If she doesn't figure how Roscoe is getting out of the house I guess it could happen again if the cat decides to come visit me." Well Wendy settled down after that and the Roscoe problem wasn't brought up again. I thought about Wendy's and my slightly edgy conversation about Roscoe as I had coffee Saturday morning. I had to admit the comment about me having my arms around Jodie didn't help matters at all, and actually that wasn't even quite accurate. I was close to her and I did have my right arm around her waist, but that was all. At that moment, Jodie was not in the mood to be cuddly or even friendly. By lunch time I made a decision and called Jodie. "Hi, do you have a minute?" "Sure." "I was going to come over so we could talk for a few minutes if that's okay." "I'll be right here." "Make sure Roscoe isn't where he can slip out when I get there." "Of course. See you in a few minutes." Jodie opened the door and at the same time said, "I have him trapped in the bedroom for the moment," and then closed the door behind me. I followed her in and she said she would let Roscoe out and then bring us coffee. I sat down on the couch and seconds later, the problem cat was lying next to me like we were best friends. I really did have to wonder if they tasted like frog legs or chicken. Jodie came back and handed me a cup of coffee and stared at Roscoe. "I can't believe this. Did you invite him to come to you?" "I didn't even look at him, but he just appeared and here he is." Jodie sat down next to me, but not too close. There never was anything special between us and I guess she wanted to make sure that wouldn't change. That didn't stop me from remembering her ass in her white shorts that ended up with grape jelly on the back. "So," and smiling without looking at her, I said, "Were you able to get the jelly out of your shorts?" "They were ruined, so I had to throw them away." "You sure were a mess when you left." "Sam, I wasn't really mad at you. I was mad at Roscoe of course, but mostly I was so frustrated because I can't figure how he's getting out. For the third time I pushed on his cat door and it's still fastened shut and I know he isn't getting out between my legs when I open the door. It's like he's a magician." "He's one slick cat, that's for sure. I told Wendy...you remember her don't you?" "Yes, you introduced her to me maybe a month or two ago, not too long after Ben moved out." "Right. Anyway, I told her about our catastrophe with Roscoe and the jelly thinking she might see the humor in our disaster." "But she didn't right?" "She got hung up when I told her I had my arms around you." "But you didn't, or at least I don't remember that happening." "Damn, if it did happen and you didn't remember I'd feel like a loser. But you're right, I misspoke when I told her that. I did have my right arm around you so neither of us would fall. I didn't lie, but I overstated that." "Why?" "I don't know why or where it came from. It just fell out of my mouth and then I had to go through twenty questions." "All of that because you didn't put your jelly away." "No, all of that because Roscoe has a warped sense of adventure, or a determination to make life more complicated for both of us." "Sam, I don't know what to say. I don't want you to have to keep dealing with Roscoe, but I'm at a total loss of how to stop him from coming over there. I don't even know why he would want to do that. You don't feed him do you?" "Of course not." Then I showed her my most friendly smile and added, "And that was the only grape jelly I had." That was a silly line, but I got a soft smile from her. I thought that would be the end of anything to do with the cat, but that wasn't to be the case. As Jodie and I talked, Roscoe stretched and nonchalantly walked across my thighs and then settled between Jodie's thighs. He looked up at her and as we watched him, he calmly stretched his front legs and started to paw at her crotch like he was sharpening his claws that he didn't have. Jodie was shocked and we stared at him as my smile grew and I had to struggle to keep from laughing. To me it was a riot, but Jodie's face was turning crimson. She was trying not to spill her coffee and at the same time get Roscoe to stop what he was doing. I didn't want to intervene, but I finally reached over and saved Jodie. I gently put Roscoe on the floor and then looked back at Jodie and she was looking anywhere but toward me. "Damn him, he's never done that before." I knew I was going to get into trouble, but that didn't stop me from saying, "Great, now I have to tell Wendy that I had my hands between your legs." Jodie stopped breathing and closed her eyes as she used both hands to hold her cup. "My God Sam, did you have to say that?" "Sorry, that wasn't appropriate." She took a breath then and looked at me for a brief second before she tasted her coffee. It was a long and uncomfortable period of silence before she managed to look at me and say, "I can't believe you said that." "I'm sorry Jodie. To me, at that moment, it seemed funny." She cracked a small smile then and said, "Would you really tell Wendy that?" "Oh I intend to yes. Of course I'll follow that with the truth, but I just can't resist stirring her up with that." "You will be pushing your luck." "She can take a joke." "You hope." Chapter Three Wendy and I didn't really have any plans for Saturday night. I went over to her apartment and we sampled a new wine and we talked. I tried to choose a good time to bring it up and told her, "I went over and talked to Jodie about Roscoe the cat getting out, but neither of us can figure out how it's happening. She again checked the cat door, but it's fastened shut. I guess all we can do is keep trying to solve the mystery." "Well at least you are trying." "I better tell you though, I did have my hands between Jodie's thighs." Wendy's face went as red as I'd ever seen it and she almost choked on her wine as she tried to put the glass down. I guess she didn't see me smile so I quickly added, "I better tell you the whole story though," and I did. She didn't see that story as the least bit funny either. I wasn't doing very well at all. I finally got her settled down, but I left soon after that even though I really did like the new wine. I had Sunday to myself to do...I didn't know what, but at least the day was mine. I waited until almost noon to check my email and I had one from Murray. "No pictures from Lynn, but in the meantime, here's one for ya. I found her on one of the amateur sites and knew you could appreciate her...physique." I scanned down and there was some nicely shaped naked woman with her back to the camera. She was on her toes and her arms were folded over her head. Very nice ass and legs and I quickly sent back a reply to Murray saying just that. Then I added, "If you find anymore of her, I wouldn't mind seeing them." I didn't get anymore emails from Murray or visits from Roscoe until Thursday after work. No email, but I had inherited Roscoe again. It had been just long enough that I forgot to watch for that damn cat before I opened my door. I called Jodie, but she wasn't home so I just left her a message to call me. It was after seven before she called and said, "Damn it Sam, don't tell me again." "He's on the back of my sofa and smiling at me." "Smiling?" "Well maybe more like he looks smug. "Oh God. Is the jelly put away?" I laughed and told her, "Oh yeah." "Did you open the door to see if he would leave on his own?" "Yes, but he's not interested." She sighed and said, "Okay, give me a minute to change and I'll be over." When Jodie arrived I had to smile. Her shorts were made by cutting off the legs of a pair of baggy sweatpants, and they were cut fairly short. "Okay," I said as I openly stared at her. "I see you're not risking anymore of your clothes this time." She didn't smile, but came in saying, "You're right, this time I'm taking no chances of something going wrong." When Roscoe saw her, he calmly dropped down from his perch on my couch and sauntered over under an end table and settled down to watch us in seeming indifference. "Sam, just look at him over there. He looks like he's king of the castle lying there with his front paws tucked into him." "Let's face it, he is king, no matter if he's home or here. He certainly is controlling us anyway. Would you like a cup of coffee before we chase him around the house?" "I better pass, but thank you." "Okay, then I guess it's time to see what happens, but I doubt that we'll get him while he's under that little table. He'll just scoot behind the couch. I know, let's see if we can get him into the hallway. At least there are fewer places for him to hide in the bedrooms or bathrooms, and we can close the door and corner him." "Anything is better than the slippery kitchen floor, so let's try that." It was like he knew we were talking about him, because he straightened up and watched us. "Sam, I'll see if I can just go to him first. Just maybe he'll behave himself for a change. He's so loving at home and I just don't understand what's gotten into him. He manages to get over here and then he wants nothing to do with either of us." Roscoe "Well all you can do is your best." Jodie slowly and carefully moved toward the little shit and she all but touched him before he dashed down the hallway. I just smiled at Jodie and we moved down the hall side by side. Roscoe licked his paw, wiped his face once and then dashed into my bedroom, so we followed him and closed the door. "Jodie, I do believe we got lucky this time." "I can't believe our luck...no now damn it, he went under the bed." "Okay. I'll try to get him out from under there, so be ready to grab him, and if he goes into the bathroom that will be even better." The plan seemed to work fairly well. Rather than go to the bathroom, Roscoe moved away from me. "Sam, he's on the bed now and staring at me." "Wait until I get up and we'll both grab him. He won't know which of us to dodge so we should have a good chance at him. Stay where you are on that side and I'll go from this side. You ready?" "I'm ready to wring his neck. Okay, you say when." Roscoe was sitting in the middle of the bed as I said go, and that's when things went awry. No, that's when all hell broke loose...again. I was close to the wall so it was a little awkward for me and that gave Jodie a half a second lead. Roscoe ended up all the way over on the dresser and I ended up on top of Jodie. My right arm was under her back, I was half lying across her and Roscoe was sitting on his ass watching us. I raised up onto my right elbow to take my weight off of Jodie and looked over at that damn feline and was just moving my left hand when Jodie went berserk. "Damn it Sam, get your hand out of there." I looked at Jodie, whose eyes were big and she was staring at me as she said again, "Sam damn it..." and I looked down and saw my left hand inside of her baggy shorts and either on or very close to her most private parts. I yanked my hand out like it was on fire, Jodie pushed me aside and jumped up and I stared at her in confusion. "Sam my God, I can't believe you. You..." "Wait a second," I said as I stood up not far from her. Look, it's your damn cat that we're chasing and..." "But you had your hand on my...inside of my shorts." "Well I'm sorry. No I'm wrong, I'm not apologizing because like I said, he belongs to you and it wasn't like I meant to feel your...you know. All of that just happened." "Yes, just like the kitchen floor and the jelly, and..." "Okay, hold on a second. Give me your hands." "I will not." I stepped close to her and said, "Give me your hands damn it, this won't hurt you a bit I promise and just maybe it will help." She was glaring, but she offered her hands and none too gently I pulled her close and put her right hand behind me and against my back. I did the same with her left hand and then I put my arms around her waist. "See, this does not hurt at all." She started to remove her hands and I pulled her tight against me and told her, "Stop. Just stay where you are for just a minute." I kissed her forehead and then looked into her eyes. "Jodie, correct me if I'm wrong, but we were friends even before Ben left right?" "You know that's right." "Well I assumed that up until a minute ago at least we were still friends." "Yes." "Now do you truly believe that I intentionally copped a feel inside of your shorts." She closed her eyes and tipped her head back a little as she took a deep breath and said, "No, of course not. I'm sorry, but my God Sam, you were on top of me and in your bed and....and you were...I mean I felt..." This time I kissed her lips just enough to make her pause. "Jodie, don't make it be more than it is. What if it were reversed and you ended up with a hand full of me instead?" "Damn it Sam, don't even say that because that would have been just as bad if not worse. This is all so embarrassing." I kissed her again. She didn't resist and in fact, though she didn't return the kiss with vigor, she was far from turning her head away from me. "Sam don't do that please, I'm so rattled as it is." "I thought it might help to get your mind away from what happened." "I keep having trouble following your line of thought." "Never mind, I just won't kiss you again even though I think it's beneficial." "And on top of this, Roscoe is sitting over there staring at us." "Yeah, I know." "Plus I hit my head on the damn headboard and I'm getting a little headache." "There's Tylenol in the bathroom. Top shelf of the medicine cabinet, brown bottle." "Would you mind?" "Of course not." A minute later she came out asking, "Why do you keep your Tylenol in an unlabeled bottle?" "Because I hate those child proof containers when I have no children. Now about Roscoe." "Could we have that coffee now and then we'll try again." Chapter Four We sat at my small kitchen table and Jodie was looking down at her hands loosely holding the cup. "Sam, I'm sorry about falling apart." "I understand, I really do, and for your sake I'm sorry it happened." She looked up at me and almost cautiously asked me, "What do you mean for my sake?" "I understand why you got so rattled and maybe even felt accosted I don't know, but, from my point of view and even though it was such a brief event, I can't help but smile to myself." "Oh my God. I suppose you're going to share this event with your...with Wendy too." I had to smile at her that time. "No, I don't think that would be a good idea." That time even Jodie smiled just a little as she told me, "The other times weren't a good idea either, but that didn't stop you. Of course I have to admit, you haven't kept anything from her." "I'm not very good at doing that I guess. Maybe that's why I keep getting into trouble with her." "You are a mess, do you know that?" We were both settling down and Jodie looked like she was really relaxing as we talked on until she said, "We better get Roscoe so I can get home and then to bed." "To bed again you mean," and I smiled at her. "You are such a shit. I just can't believe that happened." "Well it did my sweet neighbor, it really did." She stood up and holding onto the back of the chair she said, "Wow, do I feel funny. Like my legs are a little rubbery or something and I'm tired." "Maybe we better let Roscoe stay with me tonight." "No, let's try once more. Maybe he'll just let me pick him up like I do at home." We made it as far as the bedroom and then she sat down on the bed and said, "Oh, I'm a little dizzy." "You said you bumped your head, maybe you should go to the doctor." "That's silly, I did just bump it like I've done dozens of times. I don't have my headache anymore though, so I guess the Tylenol did the trick." "Maybe you better sit still for a minute until the dizziness passes." "Would you mind?" "I'd feel better if you would. Roscoe isn't going anywhere and I'm not either. Just lean back on the bed." I sat on the other side and talked to her, but then I realized I wasn't sure she was listening to me. "Jodie, you doing okay?" It was more mumble than words, but I heard, "Yeah, I'm..." and then her words trailed off. That's when it hit me and I raced to the bathroom. "Shit," I said and then went back to her side of the bed and sat her up so her feet would dangle. "Jodie, are you okay?" "What? Oh...yes I'll...I'm fine, but so sleepy," and she just half lay there. "Jodie, I'm going to take your blouse off so you'll be more comfortable okay?" "Thank you." I pulled her blouse over her head and she let her arms drop down. Her eyes were about half open so I pulled her to her feet, but I had to hold her with my right arm while I coaxed her shorts down before I eased her back into bed and pulled her shorts off. Once I had her under the covers I undressed and lay down next to her. I was pretty sure she was going to be okay, but just in case, I put my hand on her chest just below her bra so I could feel her breathe and I lay there on my side and watched her...studied her would be more accurate I guess, and I was glad I had left the bathroom light on because I could see her fairly well. I could also see Roscoe as he settled in for the night just below our feet. At least he was comfortable and worry free, but I was afraid how Jodie was going to react when she woke up in the morning. That was not going to be a pleasant time for me. For the most part I slept on my right side with my hand on her chest, but I would wake up and find my arm over her rather than the way I had been. About four in the morning I woke up and lay there looking at her. She hadn't moved. She was still on her back and her long hair was draped on the pillow and onto the sheet next to her right shoulder. She was breathing softly and slowly, and her right hand was on her belly just below my hand. Despite feeling dread about explaining myself when she woke up, I couldn't help but smile just a little. I didn't mind sharing my bed with her at all. In fact I realized that I liked it a lot, but I had to enjoy it while I could, because this was going to be a one time event. I slept again, but woke about seven. I used the bathroom and started the coffee, and then very carefully slipped into bed again and lay next to her just as I'd been most of the night. Close enough to her to allow my arm to drape over her warm waist. It was close to eight when I felt her stir. I was awake, but enjoying the soft warmth of the bed and of Jodie lying next to me. It was when she turned onto her left side that I held my breath. Her eyes were still closed so I relaxed a little and now had the morning sunlight filtering in through the curtains to light the room and better see her. My right arm was up and my head was resting on it, and my right hand was within an inch of her hair, while my left arm continued its place across her side. Jodie stirred again and her right leg came forward and then over my legs before she stopped moving again. That put her body close enough to me that I could have moved a little and kissed her. That temptation was so powerful, but I resisted somehow. Then her eyes opened and she smiled at me. She managed to smile even more and say good morning...and then screamed and sat up. My magic time with her was over. "Sam, what the hell is...I'm in your bed." "That's right." She sat up quickly and looked around to confirm her statement and then looked back at me as I got up saying I'd get her a glass of water. "My God Sam, you're in...you're almost naked." "My briefs cover me." "What the hell is going on? Why am I...oh my God, I'm almost naked too. Damn it Sam, where are my clothes?" "On the dresser." I quickly slipped into the bathroom and came back out saying, "I'll explain what happened last night." "Did we make love?" "No hon, we didn't make love." "But just last night you had your hand on...and then...I mean now I'm..." I couldn't resist it any longer. I crawled onto the bed and kissed her and she kissed me in return. Then with her hand on my chest she pushed me back saying, "Damn it, just stay back...and cover your...pull the sheet up or something." I did as she asked and then told her, "You awake enough to hear what happened?" "I must be because my heart is racing." "Okay, but settle down now." "I can't settle down. The last I knew I was dressed and so were you and we were in the kitchen and we were..." then she took a breath and paused and then a little softer she added, "We were just going to catch Roscoe." "Roscoe is peacefully watching us from the foot of the bed by the way. He watched me undress you last night in fact." She put her hand to her forehead and closed her eyes as she massaged her forehead and said, "I can't believe you just said that." "I asked you and you said okay." "That's not true at all." "It is. Okay, remember when you took the Tylenol for your headache?" "Oh, that's right, we came into your bedroom and I took those pills." "That's right. But I was wrong, those weren't Tylenol." "What the hell did you give me?" "They were Vicoden. You took a double dose of a powerful pain control medicine." "You mean you drugged me?" "Jodie, it was an honest mistake." "You drugged me and undressed me?" "Listen to me. The medicine was a mistake, but yes I did undress you." "But why, were you that determined to see me undressed or what?" "I wanted you to be comfortable. I got undressed for the same reason." Then hoping that just maybe the medicine was still in her system and keeping her from coming unglued, I really took a chance and kissed her again. "Jodie, I didn't touch you inappropriately at all. I undressed you, pulled the sheet and blanket up to cover you and then undressed and joined you." "That was all?" "That was all. I lay on my side and watched you for a long time." "You watched me?" "I wanted to be sure you were going to be okay, so I put my hand on your chest and just watched you sleep." "Your hand on my chest? But you just said you didn't touch me inappropriately." "I touched you like this," and in put my hand on her chest with my thumb just touching the bottom of her bra. "Just like this. Then awhile ago you turned on your side and put your leg over me and rolled toward me." "I did not." "Oh yes you did and I loved it." "Oh God," and she sat up again and let the covers fall before she pulled at them. "Hon, I've had my hand on you and looked at you all night, so there's no point in trying to pull the covers up. It's far too late to worry about that." I had my head propped up on my right hand and as she looked down at me she said, "You didn't...I don't know, look under my bra or take my panties down or whatever?" "Of course not. I loved seeing you in just your bra and panties, but at the same time I was uncomfortable like that. I knew you weren't in control of your senses and that bothered me a little." Then I smiled and added, "Of course not enough to make me stop looking at you." I sat up then and ignoring the fact that she could see between my legs I said, "The coffee is made and waiting for us." "We better talk about all of this, because my head is still spinning." "That would be a good idea. Now would you like me to help you get dressed?" She managed a slim smile and said, "No, I think I can manage." "Okay then," and I got up and reached for my pants. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her looking at me, and I was just devilish enough, and hard enough to turn so she could see the growing problem between my legs. I picked up my shirt from last night and smiling at her said, "I'll meet you in the kitchen." Chapter Five I was leaning against the counter and sipping my coffee when Jodie appeared with Roscoe trotting along right next to her. "Ready for coffee?" "I'm desperate for coffee." I filled her cup and took it around to her and then kissed her again. "You have to forgive me for that Jodie, because after this morning it might be a very long time before I have that honor again." "Sam, tell me again that nothing happened last night...I mean between you and me." "I was so very tempted to carry on about how we made love until we passed out, but I just couldn't do that to you, especially after I saw how rattled and confused you were. But really, both of us behaved ourselves." "Oh no, you undressed me." "I did ask you and you said okay, but then you were so groggy from the pills that I'm sure you didn't even know what I had said. I wasn't trying to take advantage of you though. I just did what I thought I should do." "And maybe what you wanted to do?" I had to smile, but then I told her, "I'm sure that was in there too, but I was a little afraid, because I didn't know how you would do with two of those potent pills in your system, and I didn't know how long you would sleep." "Oh my god, work. I have to call work." "I called my office a few minutes ago and told them I wouldn't be in." I handed her the phone and she made her call and then sat back and almost emptied her cup. I refilled it and then asked her, "You doing better?" "I think so. I'm slowly catching up with the real world, but I still can't get over what happened." "You know, Roscoe is more to blame for this than anybody. Had he behaved himself you wouldn't have even been over here." "That's true. My god the trouble he has caused is unbelievable." "Let's see. There was the incident where you knocked my lamp off of the table. We had our first affair on the kitchen floor when we tried to catch him. Then again in the kitchen when you sat in the jelly and got it all over you and the kitchen. Now he's responsible for me having my hand in your shorts us sharing a bed last night and us seeing each other almost naked. Roscoe is racking up quite a list of feats." "If anybody ever heard what you just said they would never believe the truth." "I can hardly believe the truth myself." "We just have to find out how Roscoe is getting out of my house Sam, because if this continues we...I can't imagine what will happen next." Then standing up she said, "We better try to catch Roscoe so I can go home. I need some time to get my head on straight." She no more than said that when Roscoe jumped into her lap and looked up at her. "I can't believe this." "He's probably hungry." "How can I love him and want to kill him at the same time." "It happens all the time." I had no idea why I said that, but she just smiled. I watched her go across our lawns with Roscoe trotting along next to her, and I went back for more coffee. I had a lot to think about too and I knew it was going to take some time. When I wanted to think I'd go sit in my little office and play euchre or hearts on the computer, so that's where I headed with fresh coffee in hand. I had an email from Murray from his office so I opened that and smiled. There for my pleasure was, what I was sure, was the same woman as the last time. Her face was blurred, and her hands were hiding what was between her legs, but I still smiled and studied her naked form. Nice. Not long legged model nice, but this was some amateur from some unknown place in the world and she was sharing with us. I liked what I saw and shot Murray another thank you and told him we had to get together for lunch or whatever soon. I needed to share at least a little of what I had been through with Jodie and Roscoe, not including what had just happened of course. Within minutes Murray was back saying six o'clock at Panera Bread Company, so I shot back an acceptance and went back to thinking about Roscoe and Jodie. I still hated cats, but I had to admit that Roscoe had made my life a lot more exciting than it had been. Wendy and I were usually together on Friday night and at some point on Saturday, so I sent her an email and told her I was busy Friday night but Saturday was wide open. At some point I would have to think about why I put Murray and Lynn ahead of Wendy, but right then I needed to be with my friends to just talk. It was just shy of five when Jodie called and asked me, "Could I come over for a few minutes? I promise not to stay too long." "Of course, but walk slowly because I'm just out of the shower." "Are you sure it's okay?" "Of course and the door isn't locked so just come in." I was shaved so I slipped on my briefs, jeans and shirt just as I heard her call out, "Sam, I'm here." I went out barefoot and she smiled and said, "I would have waited until you finished dressing." "I'm fine, my feet are nudists anyway." By then I was close to her, but I stopped and told her, "You look very nice." "Thank you. Much better than those baggy awful shorts I'm sure." Roscoe "Oh no, I liked you in those very baggy shorts." "You just like them because you could...oh god, I'm sorry. I'm still so scrambled." I stepped close and taking her hand I put it behind me again and did the same with the other one before I put my arms around her. "Okay, let's try this again. What you almost said was just fine. Funny even, so don't worry about it. You and I know what the truth is and that's all that matters, right?" "I guess that's true." "I'm surprised that Roscoe let you out of the house." "Would you believe that he just lay on the couch and watched me leave? He couldn't have cared less." "I'll never understand cats and especially Roscoe. Okay, so while we have our arms around each other I want to ask you. Are you mad at me at all?" "Sam, I'm not mad at you for anything. I still wonder about you undressing me, but you explained that and I just have to accept that." That's when I kissed her again, but this time it was a little more than just a light touch of the lips. "The last time you did that you said the last for a very long time." "Oh no, I said I feared it might be the last for a very long time." "Sam, what's happening between us? Why, and why now?" "Why is an easy answer. Roscoe started it. Why now? I guess you'd have to ask Roscoe that question. It's his doing that has us together right now. It's because of him that we have questions ." "This is the last time I'll ask this question. When you put your hand in my shorts...that really was an accident right?" "That really was an accident. A wonderful and pleasant accident in fact." "But I'm still dealing with Ben. I mean we haven't even filed for divorce." "Is that what will happen, or is that something to be decided?" "That's something that is going to happen and probably next week." "So if I were to ask you to go to dinner with me tonight along with Murray and Lynn what might you say?" "I might say that's a bad idea." "Oh. That's not what I was hoping for." "It is a bad idea, but I'd like to if you're sure." "Of course I'm sure. In fact just as you are would be perfect." Her embrace tightened on me slightly as she said, "You know, I was almost staring at you this morning." "In bed?" "No silly, while you were getting dressed. While you were standing there in your underwear." "Why you pervert," and I kissed her again. "Of course I stared at you in your underwear too, so I guess that makes us even." "I still can't picture that whole thing." "You were more or less standing up...with my help of course, because you were too unsteady. I asked you if I could take your top off and you said of course and raised your arms." "I did not." "Cross my heart that's what you said, or words to that effect. So I did and then I pulled your shorts down before you flopped back onto the bed." "Oh, so you didn't have my permission to take my shorts off." "I skipped that step I guess. You are very sexy in your panties by the way, but of course you know that." "I am not, I'm just average at best." "I think you need new mirrors at your house. I can't decide what your best feature is. Your sweet eyes, your beautiful hair, your very cute butt in panties...just too many to choose from." That got me a very nice and long kiss. "Wait a minute. What about Wendy?" "She won't be joining us." "I mean what about her and you?" "Hmmm, now that's something that I'm working out even as we speak." Her smile disappeared as she asked me, "How serious are you two Sam?" "Not serious enough to keep me away from you. Jodie, I'm going to see her tomorrow and I'm sure there will be some serious discussion." "I should tell you that you have to do that first, but I'm not going to do that. How much time do we have before we leave?" "Oh that. I guess I better get my socks on." I had to kiss her once more before I said, "You can come back with me so we can talk and I promise not to get naked, but just this one time." She followed me back and as we passed my little office she saw the naked woman on my monitor. "Oh, so you look at porn do you." "Oh that. Murray sent that to me and I made it my desk top for awhile." She was standing there looking from the hallway and said, "Well she's pretty sexy." "Love, if you were naked and had your butt toward the camera you'd be even sexier." She smiled and then pushed me toward my bedroom saying, "Thank you, but I think you are crazy." "I've been told there is that possibility, but my eyes work great." Chapter Six Jodie and I were just inside at the restaurant and when Murray and Lynn saw us they smiled, but I could see the questions in their eyes. I introduced Jodie to Lynn and we went in and were seated. While we waited for our drinks I said, "I better explain something to you two about why Jodie is here instead of Wendy. Well for starters, I've had my hands in Jodie's shorts. Jodie can hit really hard. "Okay, so now the truth," and I talked fast before Jodie could leave me sitting there. All of that worked fine until Murray and I went to the bathroom. Then he asked me, "Okay so what the hell is going on man?" "I'm up to my eyeballs is what's going on. I mean in problems. Damn it, I'm sure she's in no frame of mind to be any more serious than this dinner, but I really like her. I guess only time will tell where this goes." "I really like her too and did the first time I met her. If I can believe her eyes, I think she really likes you too." "I hope you're right. If that's so, I'm going to buy Roscoe the best and most expensive liver I can find. That damn cat has super natural powers." "Right, or something anyway." When we returned to the table I told Murray, "Jodie saw the naked woman you sent me." "Which one was that?" Lynn asked. I smiled as Murray told her, "Oh, just one I saw on the internet and I knew Sam would like it. In fact as it turns out she reminds me of Jodie. I mean in terms of size and shape only of course." Jodie smiled and said, "Thank you Murray, I'll take that as a nice compliment." Lynn too was smiling as she said, "You didn't share that one with me." "I'll show you when we get home hon." It pleased me to see Lynn and Jodie getting along so well. They didn't look like each other at all, but they were similar in size with Lynn slightly heavier and Jodie being maybe an inch taller. To me, Lynn was just a little more bubbly and devilish, but then I hadn't seen Jodie really happy for a long time. Once Ben had left I realized they had been having issues for some time, so I wasn't even sure what Jodie might be like once her life had settled down. Lynn looked at Murray with a crooked smile and then asked Jodie, "So what did you think of this woman?" "She has a nice shape without a doubt. I didn't see her face of course, but what I could see was very nice and the photo wasn't slutty at all." "I'm looking forward to seeing this woman. Do you have others of her Murray?" "I do and in fact I was going to send another one tomorrow." "After I see it right?" "But of course my sweet." Then Jodie shocked me and made Murray smile until he hurt, while Lynn just listened intently. "Sam hasn't told you the last part of what Roscoe did to us." She smiled at me and then went on. "I'm sure he's just being a gentleman, but it's okay for you two to hear this." Then she went on to describe the whole episode of me putting my hand in her shorts right on through her being drugged and us sleeping together. Murray was staring at me as he said, "I can't believe you man. You have this beautiful woman in your house, and to top that off you have the magic cat to keep making great things happen to you two." Lynn was almost beaming as she said, "As I listened to Jodie's story I could see just what she was saying. Jodie, I'm not sure how I would have felt or handled that, or if I would have believed what Sam was telling me. But now I have to say you two have had some adventures to say the least. And Sam honey, we want to hear from you by mid week, because something tells me you will have more to say. All of these unbelievable happenings are leading somewhere." The four of us had a great time at dinner and Jodie and Lynn were enjoying each other's company. We separated with Lynn kissing me for some reason, and Murray telling me to watch for the next photo from him. Wendy came over Saturday afternoon and we talked about where to go for dinner. Then for some reason she asked me, "So what's the latest with Roscoe and Jodie? Let's see, you've laid on her and you've had your hands between her thighs so what's next? Oh I know, you had your hand in her panties." "Oh and you were so close to being right." I was the one that had been trying to make a joke out of those events but she got mad. Now this time she sounded like she either was looking for a reason to get mad at me or she hadn't believed a damn thing I'd told her before. It was her tone that made me say, "You guessed her panties, but really I was just inside of her little shorts, want to hear how that came to be?" Her jaw jutted out her eyes narrowed and she stood up. "Damn you Sam, I don't know what to believe, but it really doesn't matter anymore," and she stormed out. Before the door closed behind her I almost shouted, "You're the one that brought it up not me," and then she was gone. I went to the phone and called Jodie, but she wasn't home, so I went to the computer room and took a second look at the photo of the sexy woman that Murray had sent me. She was facing the camera this time so I was able to study her breasts, but her position prevented me from seeing between her legs, and her face had been obscured just enough to keep me from seeing what she looked like. But then as I studied her, in my mind I saw Jodie's face on the body. I liked what I was dreaming up and smiled and told myself, wouldn't that be one hell of a thing to send to Murray. I got my senses back then and went out to read my book that I'd been working on for weeks. My book was on my chest and I was leaning back with my eyes closed when Jodie called and invited me over for iced tea. As soon as I was inside she said, "Since you were supposed to be with Wendy today, and since you called and left a message some time ago, I gather that you and Wendy had words." "Aren't you the smart one, and of course you're right." "Let's go to the kitchen and get some tea." I followed her, but stopped her at the fridge. I turned her around and put my arms around her for a second and then she said, "Sam, if you're holding me because you're sorry you two fought, maybe you better go home." "I'm holding you because I want to. I'm not looking for solace or sympathy or to be consoled." She looked up at me, but her arms went around my waist as she asked me, "Are you sure Sam?" "I'm sure Jodie. It's kind of funny in a way. I wasn't going to tell her, but she brought up the subject like she was looking for something to be mad about or whatever, I just don't know. Anyway, I answered her question without emotion and she blew up and left." "What was her question?" "She wanted to know if I'd had my hand in your panties and I said no but she was close. I was in your shorts. She left before I could explain." "Sam, you could have just said no and left it there." "I know, but I didn't like her tone of voice." "You don't sound too broken up about it." "I'm not to tell the truth. I like her. I mean I still like her, but we were rapidly building to something, so had this not been the final issue, it would have come soon anyway. Anyway, how is your day going?" She smiled and kissed me before she said, "I just had coffee with Ben." "Oh? Anything to share or is it too personal?" "It is personal. I told him I was filing for divorce Monday." "Jodie...are you sure that's what you want?" "Of course it is. I knew that before Roscoe's wild side came to be, but I was dragging my feet." The real me was back so I asked her, "Did you tell him I had my hand in your shorts and that we slept together?" She was almost laughing as she told me, "No, I left those details out of our conversation. Did you see Murray and Lynn's face when I told them that last story?" "Oh yes. I think Lynn was very surprised and Murray was drooling for more intimate details. He's a pervert just like I am." "Did he send you another photo of that woman?" "Yes he did, and she looks very nice. There's a very lucky guy out there somewhere." "I'll have to check her out when I come over." "I have the rest of the day open now, so if you'd like to come over, we could see if we can find something to do." "With or without Roscoe?" "Doesn't matter, because he'll do what he wants anyway." "Sam, are you sure you're okay and want me over there?" "I'm so sure I think it would be great if you we slept together again tonight." "Oh no because I don't intend to be zombied again, so I'm sure things would be a whole lot different this time." "Of course they would, I could get your permission to remove your shorts this time." Her smile disappeared again as she told me, "Sam, I'm serious, if I stayed there things could happen." Rather than talk I pulled her up to me and we kissed like never before, and my right hand went down to her sweet ass. She pushed me back then and looked up at me with flushed cheeks. "Okay, I'll come over, but let's hold off on the other idea." "You're the boss, but I really liked having you next to me all night and waking up to you this morning." "Damn it, once I settled down and thought about it, I decided I liked that too. Let's go look at the naked lady and you can ply me with wine and conversation." "And dirty pictures." "Right, and dirty pictures." As we walked across the lawn I asked her, "Do you feel any different after seeing Ben and telling him you were filing?" "I feel much better actually. It was like I had to see him again so I could see if there was anything there for me, but of course there wasn't. That alone told me I was thinking straight. Then after I told him and left, I felt a weight was lifted off of me. I had closed the book on an unhappy part of my life." "So no looking back." "No looking back Sam." Chapter Seven I pulled up another chair and Jodie sat next to me. "Sam, how many pictures has Murray sent to you?" "Well over time, tons of them and I've sent some to him, but this last one that he found was pretty nice. He knew I'd be impressed with her and I was, but you want to hear a confession?" She smiled and said, "Of course I do." I pointed at the woman on the monitor and told her, "I sat here earlier today and was looking at...I'll call her Lexi for no real reason and I mentally put your face on her body." "Well thanks a lot, that's not very flattering." "You misunderstand love. I was doing that, because I see you and Lexi as looking very similar below the neck." "You really do?" "I really do. I mean I've never seen you naked, but in my eyes, that's what I see." "Well I wasn't far from naked when you undressed me." "That's true and as I sit here and recall that sweet memory, I'm even more convinced I'm right." "You're making me out to be more than I am." "Okay, come with me love." When I headed for my bedroom she stopped in the doorway and smiled and said, "Wait a second handsome, what are you up to?" "I want to show you something." "Oh no, you have to keep your clothes on." I had to laugh at that one and then told her, "Just come stand in front of my mirror." I had a triple mirror on my dresser, but I'd never pulled the two outer sections in like it was designed to be used on occasion. "Okay, now wait," and I pulled those two panels in so she now had three images of herself to look at. I went over behind her, and facing her straight at the mirror I gathered her blouse in my hand until it was pulled tight. "See, you have very nice breasts and curves," and to make my point, I caressed her side with my free hand from shoulder to butt. Next I turned her sideways, and as she watched, my hand started at her shoulders and went down and the out to her ass, which I cupped in my hand saying, "See, every bit as sweet as Lexi." Then I turned her to me and kissed her deeply. I had a new voice after that kiss and almost whispered, "Jodie, you are so sexy and your kisses are going to drive me crazy." Then I undid the first button on her blouse and reached for the second. "Sam, what are you doing?" "Taking your blouse off so we can both see just how hot you really are." She didn't stop me, so a minute later she was facing the mirrors as I stood behind her and put my hands on her breasts very gently. My lips went to her ear and I whispered, "I'm right and you know it." When she felt me unhook her bra she looked at me in the mirror and then held out her arms enough to allow her bra drop to the floor. My hands went back to her breasts again as I told her, "You're breasts are nearly perfect honey," and I cupped them in my hands and kissed her neck as she let her head tip back. "Damn you Sam, you're driving me crazy." I unhooked her shorts next, and we looked at each other in the mirror as I coaxed them down and she stepped out of them. My hands went back to her ass again and I caressed her satiny curves. I pulled the waist down about half way in back and kissed her butt and then stood up. As we watched in the mirror my hand started at her waist and moved down until I was cupping her vulva and kissing her neck. I didn't hesitate then. I pulled her panties down and she just stood on them as I again caressed her body from front to back and to the front again. "I want you so much Jodie." She turned around to me and we kissed again, and my pants were soon unfastened and around my ankles before our kiss was over. It felt like it took me an hour to get my shirt socks and underwear off before we were in been together. She explored my hard manhood, and my hands moved over her breasts and pussy. I felt her patch of hair under my hand and her lips as I traced over her puffy lips, past her clit and on to the other side and back again. Her hips were rising up to encourage me and to increase the contact between pussy and fingers. That was the best we could do before I moved between her legs and slid into her. Jodie's eyes were wet and her legs went up and out as I went deeper before we kissed again. What happened after that was a blur of fast moving hips and exploring hands. We looked deep into each other's eyes as I plunged her depths and she urged me on with soft words, hands and searching eyes. We both found what we needed and had to have. We found each other, orgasms and tenderness. We found frantic lovemaking and we found hard carnal words and soft words of endearment. We found total satiation followed by a blanket of sweet afterglow that wrapped around us. Neither of us spoke of love or even of devotion. We did speak of the wonders of us coming together. Of course we had to admit that Roscoe had to be given credit for forcing us together in the first place. I finally raised up and told her, "I have another confession to make." "What's that?" "I never liked cats at all." "You don't like Roscoe?" "Not at first, but that damn cat managed to sneak his way into my heart, right along with his owner, just like he would sneak into my house." As I watched her she sat up and I said, "I can't get enough of looking at you," and again I touched her breasts lightly. "Have I found my way into your heart Sam?"
