I apologize for the amount of time it took to begin this, other stories jumped into my head and I had to follow them. I got some ideas for a sequel as I reread the original story. I hope you enjoy. Ashira The prologue takes place a year and a half or so after the end of Finding a New Life. Prologue: "Mia, are you ready?" Tyler asked, walking into the bride's room. Tyler reached for Lily's hand and smiled lovingly. Lily's eyes were shining with unshed tears. "Almost, I have something borrowed, something new and something blue, I just need something old," Mia murmured, turning away from the mirror. Tyler's breath caught in his throat and he felt tears come to his own eyes. "You look beautiful sweetie," Tyler said with a smile. Mia smiled back at her father and took a deep breath. "And I can help with the something old," he added, pulling a medium sized box out of the inside pocket of the tux. "This was your great-grandmother's." Tyler opened the box to reveal a modest diamond and pearl necklace. "It's beautiful daddy," Mia murmured. Tyler removed the necklace from the case and draped it around Mia's neck with shaky hands. "Now I'm ready," Mia said with a bright smile. "I'm not," Tyler muttered just loud enough for Lily to hear him. Lily nodded and walked out the door to begin the processional. Chapter One -5 years later- "One, two, three, four! Again!" she smiled at the groans that came from her students. "Mrs. Hall, can't we have a break? We've been working on the same moves for hours," one of the students complained. Mia curled a strand of blond hair behind her ear. "Lila, I keep going over these moves again because you keep going out of step. Get these moves right twice more and I'll let you have a half hour break," Mia told them. Mia watched and counted as her students worked harder on the moves. "Great guys! Go take a break! Have some lunch and stretch," Mia announced twenty minutes later. After the students left the dance studio, Mia walked into her office and grabbed her cell phone out of the her purse. She smiled when she saw the text message from John. She texted a reply and checked her voice mail. She had been feeling poorly lately and had anxiously seen her doctor without telling John or her parents about it. Mia frowned when she heard the message from her doctor's office. She swallowed hard as she dialed the number to the doctor's office. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mia's head was swimming as she walked into the small house she and John shared. John looked up at her and smiled. "How was your day?" John asked as Mia set her bag down. "Not bad, except I feel more and more like Madam Giry every day," Mia grumbled. John laughed. "How was your day?" Mia wanted to know. She crossed over to the sink to wash her hands before pulling out a package of chicken breasts. "Busy, but things are looking up," John answered. Mia nodded and smiled as she sprinkled kosher salt, black pepper and diced garlic over the chicken breasts. She washed her hands again and pulled out a non-stick skillet, drizzled some olive oil into the pan and put it on the stove, turned the burner on high and turned to the refrigerator and pulled out some peppers, onions and broccoli. "Are you okay?" John asked. Mia nodded. "I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon," Mia murmured. John looked at her sharply. "Are you sick?" John wanted to know. "I was feeling like shit for awhile so I called for an appointment just to make sure I'm okay," Mia told him. She could feel John's eyes practically drilling holes in the back of her head. "I'm not sick," she added. "So you're okay?" John asked, reaching for Mia's arm. "I'm fine," Mia promised. The olive oil started to pop a little and Mia placed the chicken breasts seasoning side down into the hot pan before drizzling a little olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper and diced garlic over the other side of the chicken breast. "There's nothing wrong?" John asked. "No, nothing. I'm good," Mia assured him with a small smile. She rinsed off the peppers and cut them into thin slices before turning to the onions. Once they were sliced, she pulled out a smaller saute pan and drizzled some olive oil into it before setting it down on a burner and turning the burner to high. Mia tossed the vegetables into the olive oil and quickly diced up some garlic. "Do you want some wine?" John asked. "Not tonight," Mia murmured. John looked at her in surprise but didn't comment. "Can you get the salad ready?" Mia asked. John nodded and reached into the refrigerator and pulled out a bin full of vegetables as Mia hurried from the kitchen. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Emma, are you here?" Mia called as she walked into her uncle's house. "She went shopping with your mom," Eli said. "What's up kid, you okay?" "I'm not a kid," Mia reminded her uncle. "No, you aren't. You're a mature, beautiful twenty-six year old," Eli said. "What's up?" Eli asked. "I just need some advice from the female perspective," Mia answered. "Are you sick?" Eli asked, pulling out his cell phone. "No, I'm not sick," Mia told him. Their conversation came to an abrupt end as they heard the front door slam. "Eli!" Mia and Eli looked at each other as they recognized the voice shouting. "Eli, you annoying pain in the ass, what the hell did you tell Catie last week?" "Hi Ty, come on in won't you?" Eli asked sarcastically. "Mia, what are you doing here?" Tyler asked his daughter. "I was looking for Emma but she went shopping with mom," Mia answered. "Is Catie okay?" she wanted to know. "She's fine. Your uncle introduced Catie to one of the kids that works at bank with him and I caught them having sex in her bedroom when she was supposed to be taking care of Nasya," Tyler growled. Mia giggled until Tyler glared at her. "Nasya could have been injured," Tyler reminded Mia. "I know," Mia said with a roll of her eyes. "But at the same time, Nasya is almost eleven, she doesn't need constant supervision. I think you're more pissed about the fact that Catie was getting laid," Mia said. "Not a mental image I need," Tyler growled. Mia giggled and exchanged glances with Eli. "I need to go, I have a lot to do before John gets home from work. Dad, try not to kill uncle Eli or Catie," Mia told her father. She grabbed her stuff, waved to her family and ran from the house. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mia?" John called, fiddling for the light switch. He scowled when only one of the three lights turned on. "Happy Birthday," Mia murmured from behind him as her arms encircled his waist. "Thanks," John said with a smile. He turned around and kissed her. "Go on into the dining room," Mia told him. She followed John into the dining room and reached for something off of the top of the china cabinet. "Dinner will be done in a few minutes, but here's your birthday present," Mia added. She walked into the kitchen to begin pulling food out of their pots and placed them in the serving dishes. Mia looked up when she heard John walk into the kitchen. "Is this for real?" John asked, his eyes wide. Mia swallowed, unable to tell if he was upset or happy. "Mia?" John asked. Mia took a deep breath and turned around, the note she had written him was suddenly in her face and she found it hard to breathe. "It's for real," Mia said finally. Mia studied John's face carefully but he kept his expression vague. "Say something," she pleaded softly. John reached behind her and turned off the oven and stove. Mia let out a noise of surprise when John scooped her into his arms and carried her up the stairs to their bedroom. "I love you," John managed as he lay her gently on the bed. As he covered her lips with his, his hands roamed over Mia's body making her moan softly. No words were needed as they undressed each other and once they were devoid of clothing, John pressed his lips to Mia's before trailing kisses down her neck and body, pausing to lavish extra attention to her nipples. Mia moaned as he slipped inside her. They moved together fluidly, like his body was made for hers and no one else. They fought to catch their breath as they lay forehead to forehead in the bed, John's fingers stroked her arms gently. "Dinner's probably cold by now," Mia said after a moment. John gave a wicked smile and kissed her again. "All I need is you," he rumbled, reaching for her hand. Mia's eyes never left John's as he began to make love to her again. "You complete me," John groaned, the friction caused by their moving bodies drove him wild, but he refused to go any faster, he wanted to be patient and gentle, tender, loving. His eyes closed as Mia's breathing changed from slow and easy to gasping breaths. "I love you!" Mia moaned as they fell over the edge again. "I love you too," John groaned. Dinner forgotten, they fell asleep, arms around each other. Life Renewed Ch. 02-03 Chapter Two "So what's his name?" Mia asked Catie as they munched on pastries at the local Panera. "What?" Catie asked, choking on her sip of her French Vanilla and Carmel Latte. "Dad yelled at Uncle Eli for introducing you or something. You were fucking when you were supposed to be taking care of Nasya?" Mia clarified. Catie blushed. "Who is he?" Mia wanted to know. "His name is Luke, he's really nice," Catie murmured. "What does he look like?" Mia wanted to know. "Hmm, I'd say he's a cross between the way Adam Pascal looked in the movie version of Rent and the way Patrick Wilson looked in Phantom of the Opera," Catie answered. "Both very sexy men," Mia agreed. Before anything else could be said, a tall, handsome man approached them. "Mia, this is Luke. Luke, this is my sister Mia," Catie introduced. "Nice to meet you," Mia said politely, giving her sister a grin. "What are you doing here?" Catie wanted to know. "Picking up bagels and danishes for a stupid breakfast meeting. It'll be boring and long and pointless and in the end, we will accomplish nothing at all," Luke said, rolling his eyes for dramatic effect. Mia and Catie both laughed. "While I'm waiting for them to pack up everything, how about I refill your lattes?" Luke offered. "Mine's a mix of French Vanilla and Carmel," Catie said with a smile. "I'm just having hot chai," Mia told him. Catie looked at her sister in surprise. "I'm trying to limit my caffeine intake," she added. "My sister, the coffee addict is limiting her caffeine intake?" Catie asked. Mia sighed and took a bite of her cinnamon roll. "Are you sick again?" Catie wanted to know, worry marring her delicate features. Much to the dismay of Tyler and Lily, Catie looked exactly like her mother with red hair that fell to her shoulders in ribbons and beautiful emerald green eyes. "I'm not sick, I'm pregnant," Mia said quietly. Catie looked at her sister and grinned. "You must be happy," Catie murmured after she had given her sister a rib cracking hug. Mia smiled and shrugged. "You're not happy?" Catie asked in surprise. Before Mia could answer, Luke returned with their drinks and boxes of baked goods. "I have to go to work now, I'll call you later," Luke murmured, giving Catie a kiss on the cheek before heading for the parking lot. "Why aren't you happy?" Catie wanted to know, pouncing on her sister the moment Luke was gone. "It isn't that I'm not happy, it's that I'm scared," Mia admitted. "Of what?" Catie asked. "You don't remember what happened when Charlotte pushed Parker when I was at Julliard?" Mia asked. Catie nodded and understanding dawned. "You can't mean to tell me that think Charlotte is going to appear out of nowhere and attack you?" Catie asked. "No, the miscarriage. Which is why you can't say anything to anyone until I say," Mia said urgently. "Okay, Okay, Mia, chill!" Catie exclaimed. "That was a freak thing Mia, it's unlikely to happen again," she added. Mia nodded and sighed. "I just don't want to get my hopes up," Mia murmured. Catie reached across the table and gave her sister's hand a squeeze. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "There's my favorite sister!" David exclaimed as Mia and John walked into the back yard of their parents home. "Brat," Mia teased, giving her brother a hug. "Where's Callie?" Mia wanted to know, searching for her sister. "Inside changing the munchkin," David answered. He gave his sister another tight hug. It had been far too long since he had been home and he missed his family. "David!" Nasya exclaimed, looking up from her conversation with Eli's and Emma's daughter Eve and running to him. "Holy hell kid, when did you get this tall?" David asked, giving his younger sister a tight hug. "I'm not a baby anymore," Nasya reminded her brother. "I know poppet," David said with a grin. "Don't call me poppet!" Nasya complained. Mia looked up as Callie walked out to the yard carrying a squirming, crying infant. "Ohh Sierra, what's the matter cutie?" Mia crooned, taking her niece from her sister's arms. The baby stopped crying instantly and laid her head on Mia's shoulder. Mia and John's eyes met over the heads of their family and they shared a private smile. "How's work going?" Greg asked Mia. Mia looked up at her grandfather like she hadn't heard him. "Mia, are you alright?" Greg wanted to know. "I'm fine, I've just been a little tired lately," Mia murmured. "Works going fine, the kids are really progressing," Mia added. "Do you miss dancing?" Caroline asked her oldest grandchild. "Every day," Mia admitted. John walked over to them and wrapped his arms around Mia's waist. "And when are you two going to start a family?" Caroline wanted to know. Mia and John looked at each other. "Mom, they're still young, they don't need to rush into having kids," Tyler said, walking over to his parents and saving Mia from having to answer the question. "Nonsense! David is four years younger than Mia is and he's already married with a child," Caroline reminded her son. "Mom, not now," Tyler grumbled. "What? Has something happened that nobody has told us about?" Caroline asked, her eyes narrowing. Mia glanced up at her father with a look of panic in her eyes. Tyler and Lily had agreed with Mia's decision not to tell her grandparents about the miscarriage. "Mom, please," Tyler pleaded. "Let's go inside," Mia murmured. She led her grandparents into the house and sat across from them on the couch. "When I was hurt in New York and in the hospital, I was unable to take my birth control pills. As a result, I got pregnant. I had a miscarriage," Mia said, her voice just loud enough to be heard by her grandparents. John squeezed her hand and swallowed hard when he saw the hostile look on Greg's face. "You got my granddaughter pregnant before you married her?" Greg asked. "Dad, calm down okay? It was a long time ago, and it isn't like John wasn't committed to Mia, they were in engaged for crying out loud, which is a hell of a lot more than my relationship with Lily was at when she got pregnant with Mia," Tyler reminded his father. "Are you alright Mia?" Caroline asked, seeing her granddaughter go pale. "I ..." they watched as Mia stood up and ran to the bathroom. "What's wrong with my granddaughter?" Greg demanded to know. "Nothing," John said, his eyes darting towards the bathroom. When Mia returned a few minutes later, she sank down next to John and squeezed his hand. "What's wrong?" Caroline wanted to know. "Nothing," Mia murmured. She smiled at John when he looked at her in concern. "I'm great," she assured her grandmother. Mia squeezed John's hand as they watched everyone gather around the island in the kitchen, piling food onto plates. "Aren't you hungry?" Lily asked Mia. "I'm waiting for the masses to get their food first," Mia answered. Lily nodded and started to walk away. "Mom, wait, I need to talk to you about something," she added. "What's up sweetie?" Lily wanted to know. "I need some advice," Mia began. Lily nodded and urged her daughter to continue. Mia motioned for her mother to follow her into the hall way. "Are you okay?" Lily asked. Mia nodded and smiled nervously. "I'm pregnant," Mia told her mother. Lily stared at Mia in surprise before letting out a shriek and hugging her daughter close. "Mom, I think I need to breathe," Mia grumbled. Lily pulled away from Mia, her eyes shining with excitement. "How far along are you?" Lily wanted to know. "Almost four and a half months. I wanted to wait to say anything," Mia answered. Lily nodded in understanding. "Let's get you some food," Lily said, grabbing her daughter's hand and pulling her back into the dining room. "Make way everyone, now!" Lily shouted. Eli turned and looked at his sister in surprise. "What's up Lil?" Eli asked. "Mia needs to eat," Lily said, pushing her daughter past the line. "Line jumper," David teased. "Leave your sister alone," Lily snapped. "Mom, it's okay," Mia murmured. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So how are you doing, really?" Lily asked Mia as they washed dishes together. "I feel fine. I'm just glad it isn't the flu," Mia answered. Lily chuckled. "How bad?" Lily asked. "Just a couple of weeks, but enough to convince me that something was wrong," Mia said. She was thankful that everyone had gone; as much as she loved her family, they could be overwhelming, especially her grandmother. Caroline considered herself the matriarch and many times, Mia believed Caroline wanted the rest of the family to kiss her ring whenever they saw her. "How are two of my favorite girls?" Tyler asked, walking into the kitchen. "Just fine Ty," Lily said with a smile. Mia rolled her eyes and looked away as Tyler encircled Lily's waist with his arms and nibbled gently on her neck. "God dad, I don't need to see you and mom making out," Mia grumbled. "You haven't seen anything yet," Tyler said, his eyes twinkling mischievously. "And I don't need that mental image," Mia said with a groan. "What, do you think that just because you kids are all grown up, mostly anyway, that your mom and I don't have a sex life?" Tyler asked. "Dad, I know you and mom have a sex life, and if it's anything like it was when I was growing up, I'm sure it's quite healthy. That being said, it was traumatizing enough hearing it when I was a child, I don't want to traumatize your grandchild just yet," Mia retorted. Lily grinned and chuckled as Tyler pulled away from his wife and stared at his oldest daughter in surprise. "You're pregnant?" Tyler asked, his eyes wide. "Yes. Almost four and a half months along," Mia told him. "Why haven't you said anything before now?" Tyler wanted to know. "Is everything okay?" "So far everything's fine. We haven't said anything because of what happened last time," Mia murmured. Tyler nodded knowingly and gave his daughter a gentle but tight hug. "What does John think?" Tyler inquired. "That I'm glad we don't have to keep it a secret anymore," John said from the doorway. The look he gave Mia made her weak in the knees; Lily glanced from her daughter to her son and smiled knowingly. "What's going on?" Nasya asked, pushing her way past John. "Tell David and Catie to come in here," Tyler said. Nasya rolled her eyes but returned to the living room to relay the message. "What's going on Dad? I was just about to go meet Luke," Catie wanted to know. Mia laughed when she saw the dark look in her father's eyes. John slipped his hand into Mia's and smiled lovingly. "We're having a baby," John announced, squeezing her hand gently. "When?" David asked, looking Mia up and down. The baggy sweater Mia wore hid her growing abdomen well; Mia slipped her hand from John's, stepped forward and pulled the sweater over her head to reveal the more form fitting tee-shirt. "I'm due in late August," Mia answered. Catie grinned and hugged Mia. "I should slap you over the head John," David threatened, but the grin on his face revealed that he was just joking. John shrugged and gave his brother a wide smile. "Oh, I don't know if you have room to talk, you already have your little one," John reminded him. "Speaking of Sierra, she's getting sleepy," Callie said softly. Sierra was being bounced in her mother's arms and was whining and crying loudly. "Oh pumpkin, don't cry," Mia murmured, reaching out for her niece. Callie passed the infant over with an amused smile and sighed as Mia had calmed Sierra down almost the instant she held on to her. "I don't know how you do that," Callie remarked as she walked over to David. "I don't either," Mia admitted. After a few moments, Sierra had stopped crying and her eyes fluttered closed as she fell asleep. Callie grabbed the car seat and placed it on the island so that Mia could place the infant inside it. "We should go," David said. He gave his parents each a hug before turning to his siblings. When he reached Mia, David gave her an extra tight hug. "You're going to be fine, nothing will happen this time," he murmured before giving Mia a kiss on the cheek. Mia smiled shakily, a few tears slipped down her face. David straightened and turned to John. "Take care of my sister, or you have to answer to me," David warned. John smiled and rested his hands on Mia's shoulders. "You know it," John said. After David and Callie had gone, Tyler took John down to the basement while Mia, Lily and Nasya poured over Mia's baby book. "How is Mia, really?" Tyler asked. "She's doing well. She's had a few nightmares about what happened in New York, but she's healthy and so is the baby. We're both terrified but excited," John answered, taking the proffered beer. "And you don't have to worry about how I feel about Mia or the baby, I love Mia with all of my soul and I'm already half in love with the baby," he added. Tyler grinned and took a swig of his own beer. "Mia is a strong woman, but she's also very delicate. I don't want anything to happen to her," Tyler said. "I love her Ty, I have for as long as I've known her. I'll do whatever I can to make her happy," John promised. "Good," Tyler said. "I'm sure the girls are upstairs going baby crazy, why don't we watch some hockey, the Wings are playing tonight," he added. John nodded. "Sounds good to me," he agreed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Luke, wait! I'm sorry I'm late!" Catie exclaimed, hurrying up the steps and into the movie theater. "I was beginning to think you were going to stand me up," Luke said, giving her a hug. "I'm sorry. My sister told the family that she's pregnant and my parents went a little nuts, but in a good way," Catie told him. "Nasya's pregnant?" Luke asked in surprise. "No! Good God Luke, she's only eleven! Mia's pregnant, the sister that was in Panera with me a few months ago," Catie answered. "Ahh. She seemed nervous about something," Luke said as he and Catie walked into the theater. "She is. She had a miscarriage a few years ago after a bad fall, it's what ended her career before it ever really began. The fall, not the miscarriage, though, I'm sure that would have too," Catie murmured. "Excuse me, but do you know Mia Billings?" a woman asked, grabbing Catie's arm. "I'm her sister, why? Who are you?" Catie wanted to know. "I'm Charlotte Wright, I went to Julliard with Mia," Charlotte said with a smile. "I know who you are! You're the one that caused her to fall off the stage! She nearly died because of you!" Catie shouted. "Dancing is a competition and she was stealing my lime light!" Charlotte said haughtily. "And how did you fare in prison on your attempted murder charge?" Catie snapped. "Hey, take it easy," Luke murmured. Catie started to say something but sighed and shook her head. "How is Mia? I haven't seen her on stage since Julliard," Charlotte asked. "She couldn't dance professionally after the fall, her legs were too badly damaged. She can only dance for short bursts," Catie answered, silently fuming that the girl even dared to talk to her about Mia. "That's too bad. What ever happened to that boyfriend of hers? He was too good looking to waste his time with Mia," Charlotte said. Luke stared at the girl in front of him and wondered if God had given her any sense at all. "Mia and John got married eighteen months after you knocked Mia off the stage; it took Mia sixteen months to really be able to walk well enough to be unescorted for more than a few minutes. They're expecting their first child in August," Catie said smugly. Charlotte's jaw dropped. "Really? I would have thought he would have moved on to someone whole," Charlotte mused. "Why you selfish little bitch!" Catie snarled. "And on that note, our movie starts in three minutes," Luke said, taking Catie firmly by the arm and pulling her away. Chapter Three "Mia, is that you?!" Mia turned around and gasped when she saw Charlotte walking towards her. "Nasya, stand behind me," Mia murmured. "What do you want Charlotte?" Mia asked, not bothering to hide her annoyance. "I heard you were pregnant, and I wanted to congratulate you," Charlotte said sweetly. Mia could see and hear the falseness in Charlotte's voice and demeanor. "Who's this?" Charlotte wanted to know. "My younger sister," Mia said tersely. "We're in a hurry so we need to get going," she added, grabbing Nasya's hand and pulling her away. "Mia, let me go, I'm eleven years old, you don't need to hold my hand!" Nasya complained, struggling to get free of her sister's grip. "Nas, that's the girl that ruined my dancing career," Mia said quietly. Nasya fell silent and followed her sister into the chocolate shop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You're really tense, what happened today?" John murmured as he gently massaged Mia's back. "Nasya and I ran into Charlotte," Mia answered, wincing as John's hands found a knot. "What did the little viper want?" John growled. "I don't know, but I'm sure whatever it is, it's big," Mia murmured. John bent down and kissed her neck gently. "You need to relax and remember that you aren't a threat to her anymore. And don't forget, I love you," John said softly, turning Mia towards him. "I love you too," Mia said with a smile. John studied Mia carefully. "What?" Mia asked nervously. "You look so ..." John bit his lip as he considered the word to use. "Fat?" Mia suggested. John shook his head and gave her a scolding look. "You look exquisite," John told her. "I think you need to find a dictionary," Mia said. "Nope, exquisite is the correct word. You look so beautiful and radiant, and lets not forget how sexy you look right now," John's deep voice lowered making Mia shiver. "I think you need your eyes examined," Mia murmured. "There's no way I'm sexy to anyone right now," she added. "Really?" John asked. Mia nodded. "Why aren't you sexy?" he wanted to know. Mia sighed, stood up and walked around like a model would on a catwalk. "Have you looked at me lately? I look like Jabba the Hutt!" Mia complained. John stood up and took Mia's hands in his. "Mia, you do not look like Jabba the Hutt. You've never looked more beautiful then you do right now," John murmured as he pulled Mia towards him. "I love you so much Mia, I don't know what I would do without you," he added before pressing his lips against hers and kissing her tenderly. He undressed her slowly, teasingly and gently pushed her back onto the bed before ripping off his own clothing and laying next to her. "John," Mia moaned as he began to gently play with her nipples. John chuckled as he explored every change in her body slowly, teasingly. He spent extra time kissing her rounding abdomen as his fingers slipped up inside her slick, moist heat, slowly curling and uncurling one finger while he slowly flicked another finger gently across her clit. "Oh God!" Mia gasped, thrusting her hips up off the bed. John chuckled and gently pushed her back down onto the bed. "John please," Mia whimpered. John smiled and continued planting kisses down her body until he reached her pubic bone. He pulled all fingers out from Mia slowly, she whimpered at the loss then gasped and moaned when John slipped his tongue inside her, where his fingers had been. "John, please!" Mia cried, lifting her hips up towards his face. John pulled away from Mia long enough to position himself over her. She moaned as he eased his cock deep inside her. Their bodies moved together, thrust after thrust as their lips met in a passionate kiss. John reluctantly lifted his lips off of Mia's to take a shaky breath as he plunged in and out of her, the noises coming from Mia were driving him crazy and it took all he had to keep from taking her as fast as he wanted to take her. Mia seemed to sense his frustration and locked her legs around his waist. "I'm not going to break and you aren't going to hurt us," she whispered. John groaned and rolled them over so that Mia was on top. Mia gave him a sultry smile as she moved up and down his pulsing cock hard and fast; she cried out when John began playing with a nipple. He pulled her head down towards his and kissed her roughly. Mia's breathing was becoming ragged and erratic as her climax drew near. Life Renewed Ch. 02-03 "I love you," John managed to say before rolling them back over so that Mia was under him. "And if I hurt you, I'm sorry," he added as he began thrusting in and out of her furiously. Mia moaned and met him thrust for thrust, her breath coming in gasps. "Mia," John groaned as he gave one final powerful thrust. Mia screamed as pleasure rolled over her in waves. "That's it love, let it go," John encouraged. He prolonged her orgasm by continuing to thrust into her gently but deeply. Mia's cries became shrill and frequent as the tip of his cock brushed by her g-spot over and over again. Finally, the force of Mia's orgasm triggered his and his cock erupted deep within her. "Are you okay?" John asked as he rolled off of Mia gently, carefully. The look on Mia's face was all John needed to see and he grinned. "I love you and I hope I just proved how sexy you are," he added. Mia grinned as she caught her breath. "And if I didn't, you're going to have to wait until I build up some more reserves," John joked. Mia laughed and stretched out her legs. He kissed her and stood up off of the bed and headed towards the bathroom. "John, wait, come back!" Mia exclaimed. John was back at the bed sitting next to her in an instant. "What's wrong?" John asked in alarm. Mia smiled, grabbed his hand and placed it on her abdomen. "Oh Mia," he whispered as he leaned over to kiss you. "I love you so much." When John looked up, there were tears in Mia's eyes. "What's wrong baby?" John asked, wiping them away gently. "Nothing's wrong. Everything feels right," Mia answered with a shaky smile. "Hormones?" John asked. "Must be," Mia said. "Come on, I'll run the water so you can take a bath," John murmured, pulling away from her. He helped Mia to her feet and hand in hand, they walked towards the bathroom. ~~~~~~~~~~~ -Months later- "How are you feeling?" Caroline asked Mia as she took a sip of her iced tea. "I'm feeling okay. I'm nervous though about the baby. How do I know if I'm ready?" Mia wanted to know. "Have you talked to your mother about this Mia?" Caroline asked. Mia shook her head. "Nobody is really ever ready to be a parent, no matter how much they say they are. Nervousness and apprehension are fine and normal feelings to have. Let me ask you something. Do you love John?" Caroline asked. "Very much," Mia answered. "And do you want to have this baby?" Caroline asked. "Yes, of course," Mia said. "Then you're as ready as anyone else. The only people more prepared are those who already have at least one child, and even then, each child is different. You're going to make mistakes, but you're great with kids and you are going to make a wonderful mother," Caroline said giving her grand daughter a gentle smile. "Is this a private party or can anyone join?" Caroline and Mia looked up and smiled. "Grace, it's great to see you!" Caroline exclaimed, standing up and giving her only daughter a big hug. "Hi aunt Grace," Mia said. "Wow kiddo, your dad wasn't getting when he said you were ready to pop," Grace teased. Mia blushed. "You look great Mia, really," Grace assured her niece. "Where are Grant and the kids?" Caroline wanted to know. "They're still in New York, Grant had to work and the kids had soccer," Grace answered, sitting down in the empty chair. "How are you feeling Mia?" Grace wanted to know. "Nervous, scared, tired, impatient, take your pick," Mia answered. "You are so much like your mother," Grace said with a laugh. Mia blushed. "Have you had your baby shower yet?" Grace wanted to know. "It's tomorrow," Mia answered. "Can't wait," Grace beamed. -The next afternoon- "Oh my Gosh, that's adorable," Mia whispered as she opened a package with a pale yellow teddy bear in it. After about twenty minutes of opening presents, Mia excused herself to the kitchen. "Are you okay?" Catie asked, following her sister. "I haven't said anything because I didn't want to spoil the party but since all we have left is cake, I think its okay to break up the party," Mia answered. "You've got to be kidding. Mom worked every day for the last three days on that cake," Catie reminded Mia. "The baby doesn't care," Mia said. "What do you mean?" Catie asked. "I've been having contractions all morning. An hour ago they were twenty minutes apart, now their nine minutes apart," Mia told Catie. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as a wave of pain swept over her. "How were you able to hide it?" Catie asked in surprise. "I'm a dancer and in ballet, there is acting involved so that's how I did it," Mia said after the contraction eased. "Can you get mom?" she asked. Catie nodded and hurried into the living room. When Lily and Catie returned to the kitchen, Lily peered at Mia in concern. "Why didn't you say anything sooner?" Lily asked gently. "I didn't want to ruin the party," Mia whispered, tears of pain in her eyes. "You're alright sweetie, just relax and breathe." Lily turned to Catie. "Your grandfather and brother are downstairs, can you please have them come help me get Mia into the car?" Lily asked. Catie nodded and ran down the basement stairs as if her life depended on it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "How are you doing?" Lily asked Mia. Mia shifted in the hospital bed and rubbed her abdomen as the baby kicked. The morphine was barely taking the edge off, but Mia wasn't about to ask for an epidural. She had had enough of not being able to feel or move her legs much after her injury. "I think I'm going to kill John if he even looks at me in a way that suggests he wants to have sex. How the hell did you do this three times?" Mia asked. Lily laughed and let Mia squeeze her hand as a contraction hit. "Drugs," Lily answered with a grin. "The only one I didn't have an epidural with was David and that's because there wasn't time," she added. "Where's John?" Mia asked as Tyler stepped into the room. "He's on his way, but there's been a bit of a problem," Tyler said hesitantly. "What happened?" Mia wanted to know. "He got pulled over on his way over here," Tyler began. "So he'll get a speeding ticket, big deal. When is he going to get here?" "He's been arrested Mia," Tyler said gently. "What!?" Mia and Lily shouted. Mia cried out and squeezed her mother's hand. "There was a warrant out for his arrest on the grounds of sexual assault. Apparently, his DNA was found on a rape victim," Tyler told his daughter. "But he's going to make it right?" Mia asked. "Mia, you need to concentrate on this now, don't worry about John. I'm sure your grandfather is all over this," Lily told her daughter gently. "I want John! He needs to be here! I refuse to do this without him here!" Mia exclaimed, her eyes filling with hot tears. "You don't have that option," Lily said softly. Tyler looked away when the doctor came in to check on Mia's progress and left the room all together when the doctor announced that Mia was ready to go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mia, how are you?" John asked when he had finally been allowed to call. Only Greg's tenacity and insistence had allowed John an extra phone call. "I'm okay. We're both okay. Oh John, you should see her, she's so beautiful," Mia whispered. "She? A girl? What does she look like?" John wanted to know. "Like an angel," Mia answered. "I want to be there so badly. Did your dad tell you what I've been arrested for?" John asked hesitantly. "Rape," Mia murmured. "I didn't do it Mia, I swear to you, I haven't touched another woman sexually since we started dating," John told her. "I know John, you aren't capable of something like this. I know this is going to be difficult for you, but you need to focus on you now and not us. The baby and I are just fine and we've got mom and dad to help out. I love you John," Mia whispered. "I love you too baby. I have to go now, the warden is saying my time is up. Get some rest love," John said. "Good night," Mia murmured, hanging up the phone. She glanced over at the plastic bassinet and peered down at her sleeping daughter. "Daddy says he loves you Angel," Mia whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of the baby's head before settling back against the pillows and drifting to a troubled sleep. Life Renewed Ch. 04-05 Sorry it took so long, classes started up and they're a little hectic; lots of reading and the kids have been hyperactive not to mention I got a new part-time job that I LOVE! Thanks for reading! Feedback is appreciated! Ashira Chapter Four "Mia, what are you doing here?" John asked as he was led into the visitor room. "I thought you would like to see your daughter," Mia said with a small smile. "I do, but you shouldn't have brought her here," John said softly. Mia smiled again and lifted Angel out of her car seat and gently placed her in John's waiting arms. "Oh my God Mia, she's beautiful. She looks like you," John murmured. Mia smiled at the sight of her husband holding their daughter. "How are you feeling?" John wanted to know. "I feel pretty good. Do you remember the comment you made after watching the video of my birth?" Mia asked. John nodded. "You were right, delivery made the miscarriage seem like a walk in the park," she told him. John winced and gave her a hug, savored the feel of her in his arms. "I love you Mia," John whispered. Mia looked up at him, tears in her eyes. "Don't cry, please don't cry," John pleaded. "What do you have there Mister Hall?" one of the guards asked, walking over to where John and Mia were standing. John pulled away from Mia and turned towards the guard. "Officer Park, this is my wife Mia and our new baby," John answered. "Her name is Angel," Mia supplied. John smiled and ran a hand over over the infant's downy head. "She looks very young," Officer Park remarked. "We just got out of the hospital yesterday, and since John wasn't able to be there when she was born, I wanted to bring her so John could see her right away," Mia answered. "Mia, I love you and I'm glad that I got to see Angel, but this is no place for a new baby and I don't want you to see me like this," John said gently. "You're my husband John, I wouldn't stay away if you paid me," Mia told him stubbornly. Angel began to fuss and reluctantly, John returned her to Mia's arms. "Is there any word on who accused you?" Mia wanted to know. "No, not yet. Your grandfather is working on it. I'll be glad when I can get out of here and be back home with you and our Angel," John said softly. "Miss, your time is up," Officer Park said gently. Mia's eyes filled with tears as John gave her a tight hug. "I love you Mia, more than you'll ever know," John told her, his voice husky with emotion. "I love you too," Mia whispered. John lowered his lips to hers and kissed her gently before pressing a kiss to the top of Angel's head. "Be safe," John whispered as he watched Mia put Angel back into the car seat. Mia glanced back at John one last time before she left the prison. ~~~~~~~~~~~ "How's John doing?" Lily asked Mia. Mia sighed and dropped to a kitchen chair. "He seems to be doing okay, he loved seeing Angel," Mia murmured. Lily smiled. "Of course he did! He wants that little girl as much as you do!" Lily exclaimed. Lily studied her daughter carefully. "How are you doing? Are you getting enough rest?" Lily wanted to know. "I haven't been able to sleep much lately," Mia admitted. "Is Angel keeping you up at night?" Lily asked. "No. I'm worried about John," Mia said. "Mia, you need to get as much rest as you can so that you can take care of that precious little girl," Lily chastised gently. "I know, but I can't help it," Mia admitted. "John will get through this, he has grandpa on his side," Catie said, walking into the kitchen. "Where's my niece?" Catie wanted to know. "In my old room asleep," Mia answered, holding up the baby monitor. "So, how are things with you and Luke?" Mia wanted to know. "Good. He's invited me to go to New York with him this weekend," Catie said with a soft smile. "Don't let dad hear that," Mia warned with a grin. "Do you really think he would have problems with me going out of town with my boyfriend?" Catie asked. "I mean, I'm twenty four," she added. "Catie, he still occasionally gets mad at John for getting me pregnant and we're married," Mia pointed out. "Mia, are you still here?" Tyler called from the front hall. Mia appeared in the living room and frowned when she saw a police detective standing with her father. "What's going on daddy?" Mia wanted to know. "This detective would like to question you about John," Tyler said gently. "I won't answer any questions without my grandfather," Mia said stubbornly. "He's on his way," Tyler told Mia. "In the mean time, would you like some coffee?" Tyler asked the detective. "Please," the detective said. When Greg got to the house ten minutes later, Mia was trying to keep from tearing her hair out. "How are you sweetheart?" Greg asked Mia. "I'm nervous about all of this," Mia answered, happily accepting the hug from her grandfather. "Miss, I need to start this interview now," the detective said. Mia started to follow the officer into the kitchen when Angel started crying. "Excuse me, I'll be right back," Mia told him, jogging up the stairs. "Detective, is it possible to move this to the living room please?" Mia asked, taking the offered blanket from her mother. "What do you have under the blanket?" the detective asked. Mia sighed and lifted the blanket just enough to reveal the top of Angel's head. The detective nodded to the couch and Mia sat down slowly. "My name is Detective Johnson, and if it is okay with council, I would like to tape this interview," he began. "It's fine with me," Greg said. "Miss Hall, do you happen to remember where your husband John was on the twenty-second of last month?" the detective wanted to know. "I had an OB appointment at noon, so we went out to a late breakfast before hand and after wards, we went shopping for the nursery," Mia answered. "What time did you get home that night?" "About eight thirty," Mia said. "Did John leave you at all that day or that night?" "Just long enough to use the bathroom," Mia said. "Where did you go for breakfast?" "Panera. We sent shopping at Babies R Us and J.C. Penney," Mia said. "And you aren't lying to save your husband?" the detective asked. "Of course not! I've never lied in my life and I'm not about to start now!" Mia exclaimed. "Then how did his DNA end up on the victim and how is it she gave an exact description of your husband?" the detective wanted to know. "How is it you got a sample of his DNA to compare it to?" Mia shot back. "He donates blood every eight weeks and we received a warrant to confiscate some," the detective answered. "He was with me, the most he was apart from me was five or ten minutes, just long enough to use a bathroom," Mia repeated firmly. As if she sensed her mother's distress, Angel fell off of Mia's breast and began crying loudly. The detective looked away as Mia pulled the infant out from behind the blanket. "Are we done detective?" Mia asked, a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "For now," the detective answered. Mia watched as the detective walked out of the house. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Are you alright?" Tyler asked his daughter, looking at her in concern. Mia sighed and put the now sleeping baby in her pack and play and shook her head. "No, I'm not. Nothing about this is alright. John can't even bring himself to kill a fly. He's one of the last people I would have considered to be a rapist," Mia ranted. "Everything is going to be okay Mia, I promise," Lily murmured as Mia and Tyler walked into the kitchen where Greg had walked in a few minutes before. "You can't promise that mom," Mia sighed. Lily glanced at her husband before handing Mia a mug of hot chocolate. "When you were a little girl, David was just a baby so you were very young, my ex-boyfriend Carter and your father's ex-wife Jenni kidnapped me and held me for weeks, torturing me and raping me. Your father followed Jenni back to the cabin and rescued me, but he had to kill Carter and Jenni. He was charged with two counts of murder," Lily told her daughter. "What happened?" Mia asked. "I spent several months in jail during the trial, they considered me a flight risk and when I was finally found not guilty of murder, I came home to you kids and your mother," Tyler answered. He gave Mia a tight hug. "Everything will work itself out," he promised. ~~~~~~~~ "Are you sure this is going to work?" "Quit worrying you haughty little bitch. As long as you do as I say, this will work and they will all pay for the injustice they've treated us both to," he answered the young woman. "I don't care about Mia's parents, but I want Mia to suffer. She got me arrested and my career as a dancer was ruined," she snapped, stepping into the light. Her brown eyes were so dark and narrow that they almost seemed black. "Well Miss Charlotte, it looks like we have our work cut out for us," he agreed. "We certainly do Miguel," Charlotte agreed. "Good. Now for your payment," Miguel said, a lecherous grin on his face. Charlotte swallowed hard and hoped her shudder of disgust wasn't obvious. "You agreed to pleasure me in any way I saw fit for three weeks Charlotte, longer if he is convicted. Don't renege on our agreement," Miguel warned. "What do you want?" Charlotte asked finally. "Strip," Miguel ordered. Charlotte reached behind her back and pulled the zipper down which allowed the outfit to fall to the floor, her panties followed. Without another word, he pushed Charlotte back onto the bed behind her and quickly removed his pants and briefs. Charlotte shuddered and turned her face away from his as he plunged in and out of her roughly. She resisted the urge to gag from the horrible body odor that radiated from Miguel's large body; tears streamed down her cheeks as he came deep within her. "That is payment enough for this week. Meet me here next Saturday at the usual time," Miguel ordered, pulling away from her. Charlotte pulled her dress and panties back on and fled from the dingy apartment. CHAPTER FIVE "John!" Mia exclaimed as John was led to the table. "What are you doing here?" John asked wearily. "I needed to see you," Mia murmured, she reached up and touched her fingers to his cheek. "What happened?" Mia wanted to know, her eyes wide. "You know what happens to people suspected of sexual assault or child abuse," John said bitterly. "They're wrong, you aren't capable of rape," Mia said with a growl. John gave her an amused smile and pushed his hands into his hair with a sigh. "Yeah well, tell that to the guys here on the block," John grumbled. Mia watched as a few other inmates walked over towards them. "Is he bothering you ma'am?" one of them asked. "Of course not! I'm here to visit my husband," Mia snapped. "He's a rapist ma'am, he don't deserve you." "Go fuck a drain pipe and leave me to visit with my husband you annoying pain in the ass!" John chuckled and snaked his hand around Mia's wrist, pulling her to the chair. "It's your funeral," the inmate said with a shrug. "You shouldn't have come Mia," John told her. "I love you John, why shouldn't I be here?" Mia retorted. John sighed and reached for her hands. "I love you too Mia, but you shouldn't have to see me like this," John murmured. "I'll take what I can get," Mia argued. John sighed and pressed one of Mia's hands to his lips. "I've missed you. How's Angel?" John wanted to know. Mia smiled and slid a picture across the table. "God she's gotten big!" John breathed. "Four months now," Mia murmured. "I'm missing everything," John moaned. "I'm so sorry Mia," he whispered. "For what? You haven't done anything," Mia murmured. "I should be with you and with Angel," John answered. "We know how much you love us. I tell Angel every night while I'm getting her ready for bed that daddy loves her. And I know you love us," Mia told him. She stood up, walked around the table and hugged John tightly. "Don't give up John," she whispered. "I won't," John promised. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "How's John doing?" Lily asked. Mia sighed loudly. "He's been attacked by one of the other inmates. Not badly but enough for a few bruises and scratches and scrapes," Mia answered. Unable to take the quiet, Mia and Angel had moved back in with Tyler and Lily, at least until John was released. "I'll talk to your grandfather," Lily offered. "What can grandpa do? Does he have an ear to a judge?" Mia asked grumpily. "Mia, you have to stay positive," Lily tried to sooth her daughter. "How can I stay positive mom when everything keeps going wrong?" Mia shouted. Lily reached for her daughter and hugged her tightly as she fell apart. Lily looked up as Tyler and his parents walked into the house. "Look whose here!" Tyler announced. Mia looked up as she wiped the tears from her eyes. "Aunt Grace!" Mia exclaimed. "Hi sweetie," Grace murmured, giving Mia a hug. "How are you holding up?" Grace asked. "Miserably," Mia admitted. Grace hugged her niece again and pulled apart as Grant walked in with Hope. "Hey," Mia greeted her cousin. "Let me see Angel," Hope squealed. "She's been baby crazy since Sierra was born," Grant said rolling her eyes. "Ignore Grant, he's been in a bad mood the last few weeks," Grace said with a smile. "Angel's upstairs napping," Mia told Hope. Hope sighed and pouted making Mia laugh. "Let's go downstairs and play some pool. I have loads to tell you," Hope suggested. Mia glanced at her mom and Lily smiled. "I'll listen for Angel, you go relax and catch up with Hope," Lily told her daughter. Mia smiled gratefully and followed her cousin down the stairs. "I heard what's going on with John, is it true?" Hope asked. Mia slammed the rack down on the pool table. "No damn it, it isn't true!" Mia shouted. "I didn't think it was, just take it easy!" Hope said, raising her hands up in front of her face. Mia sighed as she placed the balls into the rack. "I'm sorry Hope. I just don't know how this happened," Mia said with a sigh. "It'll work out. Grandpa will get to the bottom of it and get things straightened out," Hope murmured, selecting her pool cue from the wall. Mia nodded and lifted the rack off of the table and placed it on the hook. She watched her cousin break and chuckled as two stripped balls, followed by the cue ball slid into pockets. "Where did you learn to play like that?" Hope asked as Mia sank half of the solid balls in one go. "Uncle Eli taught me the basics and John taught me how to do this," Mia answered as she knelt over the table and tapped the cue against the ball which sailed into one of the solid balls, jumped a stripped ball and sank both solid balls. "Very cool," Hope said with a grin. ~~~~~~~~~~ "You shouldn't be here Mia," John said as Mia sat down in front of him. "Why not?" Mia wanted to know. "It isn't safe for you here," John answered. "I'm not going to stop visiting you John until you can come home," Mia told him stubbornly. John sighed but pulled Mia in for a fierce hug. "Don't give up John, we need you so much," she whispered. "I love you Mia," John groaned. "I love you too," Mia murmured. "Hey douche-bag! Back away from the woman!" one of the other inmates exclaimed. John stepped back from Mia reluctantly but she refused to let go of his hands. "I'm trying to visit with my husband if you don't mind," Mia said angrily as four of the inmates began walking towards them. "A pretty thing like you shouldn't be tied down to a rapist," one of them said. "John would never rape anyone!" Mia shouted. "And how do you know?" the inmate challenged. "Because I know my husband," Mia answered, her voice low, angry. "Mia, just ignore him. You need to get back to Angel," John said, pulling gently on Mia's hand. Mia sighed but turned back to John, her eyes filled with tears. "It's going to be okay Mia," John promised. He kissed her gently and Mia's arms encircled his neck; after a moment, John pulled back with sigh. "You should go," he said reluctantly. "I don't want to leave," Mia whispered. "I love you," John said. Mia sniffled and threw her arms around him again. "Mia, you're making this impossible," John groaned. Mia pulled away and handed him the large envelope she had set on the table. "What's all this?" John asked, opening the envelope. He smiled at the photographs of Angel in Mia's arms. "I'll see you both soon," John promised. Mia kissed him once more before she turned and walked away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "How are things with your sister?" Luke asked as he and Catie sat down to dinner at a popular Japanese restaurant. "Mia's a wreck," Catie sighed. "I bet," Luke said as he snared a piece of sushi with his chopsticks. "Do you think he actually raped someone?" Luke asked. "No. It isn't in his nature, I've known him since he was sixteen and I've never seen him act violently towards anyone. In fact, Mia has mentioned that when they finally did have sex, she was the one that started things, not John," Catie answered. Luke laughed and shook his head. "So the aggressive personality must come from your dad," Luke teased. "It sure as hell didn't come from Lily," Catie agreed with a grin. They finished their meals in relative silence and left. "My place?" Catie asked. Luke nodded and followed Catie to the car. "I hate this apartment," Catie grumbled as she tried to get the door to stop sticking. "Why haven't you moved?" Luke asked with a chuckle as he took the key from Catie. Finally, Luke jiggled the key and the door unlocked. "I can't afford it," Catie answered as she pushed the door open. Luke followed her inside, closed and locked the door behind him. "When is your lease up?" Luke wanted to know. "Two months," Catie murmured. She grabbed a can of tuna from the cupboard, opened it and drained the water from it. Luke smiled appreciatively as she bent down to pick up the cat bowl. "Like what you see?" Catie asked, glancing over her shoulder as she dumped the tuna into the bowl. Before Luke could answer, she bent down again and placed the bowl on the floor then grabbed the water bowl to fill. "Well?" Catie asked as she set the water bowl back on the floor. Luke grinned, stepped forward and lifted Catie into his arms. She squealed and giggled as he nibbled on her neck while carrying her into her bedroom. He placed her lovingly on the bed before covering her lips with his. Catie pushed Luke off of her and began tearing at his clothes. Luke chuckled and helped remove his clothing. "You're driving me crazy," Luke moaned. "How crazy?" Catie asked. Luke stepped out of his jeans and boxers before he literally tore the button down shirt off, sending the buttons flying through the air. "This crazy," Luke grumbled, lifting Catie off of the ground. He kissed her hungrily and pressed her up against the wall. "Luke, wait!" Catie gasped. "For what?" Luke groaned. "I'm still wearing clothes," Catie reminded him. Luke growled and put Catie down so that she could kick off her own jeans. Once she was naked, Catie pushed Luke towards the bed, climbed on top of him and started to lower herself down his cock with a moan. They thrust together once before someone pounded on the front door. "Ignore it," Luke pleaded. "Gladly," Catie moaned. She grumbled under her breath as the door was pounded on again. "Catie, it's David!" Catie pulled away and grabbed her jeans as she headed for the door. "What?" Catie asked, pulling the door open. David grinned for a moment when he saw Luke walk up behind Catie, pulling a tee-shirt over his head. "Mia's been attacked. She's in the ICU in a coma," David said, the smile turned to a grim expression. "Oh my God! Is she going to be okay?" Catie asked as she reached for her jacket, purse and keys. "I don't know. Dad just said to hurry," David answered. ~~~~~~~~~~~ "I want to see my wife!" John demanded. Mr Hall, you are a prisoner of the state until your trial, and most likely, for many years after. Why should we allow you to go visit your wife?" one of the newer guards asked. Life Renewed Ch. 04-05 "If your wife had been attacked, wouldn't you want to see her?" John pointed out. The guard pushed John into a wall with a growl. "Is that a threat Hall?" the guard asked, his voice low, dangerous. "Back off Jerkins, he was making a hypothetical point," Officer Park intervened. Reluctantly, Jerkins backed away from John who turned to Officer Park. "Please let me see Mia," John said softly. Officer Parks shook his head with a sigh. "It's up to the warden," Officer Parks told John. "I'll speak with him about it later," he added. John nodded and waited to be escorted back to his cell. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Months later- "How's Mia?" John asked Greg as he appeared next to him at the defendant's table. "She's doing as well as can be expected. She wanted to be here, but wouldn't tell me why she wouldn't be," Greg answered. "I told her to stay away," John said, his voice full of pain. "I haven't seen Mia or Angel in three weeks," he added. Greg patted the younger man on the shoulder. "Mia loves you John," Greg said gently. "I know." Greg stopped talking as the district attorney stepped up to them. "Last chance for a deal; plead guilty and you'll only get two more years of prison time," the D.A. offered. "I never raped anyone," John said firmly. "Enough." Greg stepped in front of John. "No deal Landers," he added. The D.A. shrugged and walked over to his table; Greg turned back to John. "It's a relatively good deal," Greg said quietly. John looked up wearily at his wife's grandfather. "I'm not going to prison longer for something I did not do," John grumbled. "I know you didn't rape anyone, and so does anyone who really knows you. The only problem is unless you have an evil twin brother out there, the fact that they have your DNA is very suspicious," Greg said. "I don't know how they got my DNA. I didn't ..." Greg looked up as John trailed off and turned to see what John was staring at; smiled when he saw Mia standing behind him. "Can you give us a few minutes grandpa?" Mia asked softly. Greg nodded and gave her a tight hug and as he walked away, he sighed at all the girl had been through; it was too much for one person to endure and yet she persevered and got through it with the strength of an Amazon warrior. "I know you told me not to come, but I couldn't stay away," Mia said softly. John gave an awkward smile as he tried to swallow over the lump in his throat. "I love you John," she whispered. "I love you too," John said as he wrapped his arms around the two most important women in his life. "My God, she's so big," he breathed when he pulled away. Angel studied her father carefully for a moment, before her eyes lit up and she held her arms out towards him. "Dada!" Angel announced. John gave a strangled laugh as he took Angel from Mia's arms. "How long as she been talking?" John wanted to know. "She's been saying mama for a almost a month now, but Dada is new, only about two weeks. We've been practicing," Mia answered. "How?" John asked. "I showed her your picture and repeated the word 'Dada' over and over again until she could say it on her own," Mia murmured. John laughed; his laugh turned to a sigh as Angel struggled to get down. "She has another surprise for you, let her down and stand back a little, maybe to just past the table," Mia told him. John set Angel down on the floor and took a few steps back; his eyes widened as he watched his daughter grab hold of the table and used it to take a few steady steps. He moved to take a step towards her but Mia shook her head. To John's amazement, Angel let go of the table and took the three steps on unsteady and wobbly legs before coming to a stop to just in front of John who had knelt down to be at Angel's level. Angel gave a smile and drool spilled down her chin. John gave Angel a gentle hug and lifted her into his arms as he stood back up. "Amazing isn't it?" Tyler asked, making both Mia and John jump. John nodded. "I missed Mia's firsts too," he said quietly. John nodded again and passed Angel back to her mother. "I've been keeping something from Mia," John said after Mia had gone. Tyler's eyes narrowed. "No, I didn't rape anyone, but I know who is accusing me. I kept it from Mia to keep from hurting her more, and to keep from pissing her off," he added. "Who accused you? Tyler wanted to know. "Charlotte Wright," John answered. "The fucking little bitch!" Tyler shouted. "Calm down," John pleaded. "Calm down!? The little bitch ruined Mia's career and now she's trying to fuck with her life with you and you want me to calm down?! Are you fucking insane!?" Tyler roared. John winced and gave a sigh of relief when Greg returned to the table. "Tyler, you need to pull it together. This is why we haven't said anything sooner," Greg told his son. Tyler took a deep breath as Lily and Mia returned to the court room, this time without Angel who had been picked up by Catie. "What the hell is she doing here?" Mia snapped when she saw Charlotte walk into the courtroom. "That is the woman John was accused of raping," Greg said gently. John watched worriedly as all the color drained from Mia's face. "Of all of the absurdity!" Mia exclaimed. "That's enough ma'am. If you do not settle down, I will have you removed," the judge announced from the bench. Tyler grabbed Mia's arm and turned her towards him. "Mia, sweetie, I know this is hard on you, but you need to stay calm. I know John didn't do this, you know John didn't do this and for John and for Angel, you need to calm down," Tyler said gently. Mia took a deep breath and took her seat behind John, placed her hands on his shoulder. "I love you Mia," John murmured before the judge called the court to order. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "How's Mia?" Luke asked when Catie sat down in the booth across from him. "Exhausted," Catie answered. She took a sip of her water and sighed deeply. "They'll find him innocent," Luke said, reaching his hand across the table. Catie nodded. "Especially since the person accusing him of rape is Charlotte Wright, the woman that ruined Mia's career as a professional ballet dancer," Catie said with a groan. Luke frowned at that. "Did she think he would be attracted to her?" Luke wanted to know. "She thinks all men should be attracted to her," Catie groaned. "That's because I am beautiful and one hell of a dancer!" a voice snapped. Catie looked up, hoping a bored expression was on her face. "Did you do a lot of dancing for the women in prison then Charlotte? Did you like being their bitch?" Catie asked sweetly. "Your sister thought she was the best dancer in the world, she needed to be taken down a peg or two," Charlotte said smugly. "You didn't just destroy her career Charlotte. You killed someone," Catie retorted. "What? Who?" Charlotte asked, her eyes wide with surprise. "My unborn child," Mia said from behind her nemesis. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mr. Hall, if you weren't the one who raped Ms. Wright, how do you suppose they got your DNA?" the D.A. inquired. "I don't know, but I have never touched a woman who did not want to be touched and even if I were some sick rapist, Charlotte Wright is the last woman on Earth that I would touch, no matter the circumstances," John said, a harshness in his voice that made him sound dangerous. "Why do you say that? You sound as if you do not like Ms. Wright," the D.A. asked. Greg objected and the judge told the D.A. to find another line of questioning. John swallowed hard as he watched Mia take the stand, her face pale, her eyes flashing with fury as she stared at the woman that had ruined her dreams. "Mia, you don't have to do this," John said. Greg put a hand John's arm and the Judge gave John a warning. Mia turned her gaze to John and gave a small smile. "Yes John, I do have to do this," Mia said softly. John sat there, helpless as the D.A. asked question after question, making Mia relive the events that ended her ballet career and worse, caused her to miscarry. He clenched his hands and shot daggers at Charlotte with his eyes. The D.A. glanced at John and smirked at the look on John's face; the D.A. was certain that he was winning. "No further questions," the D.A. announced. Greg stood up. "Did you know that you had gotten pregnant before you were pushed from the stage?" he asked. "The doctors told me that had Charlotte not pushed me off the state, I most likely wouldn't have gotten pregnant in the first place, let alone had a miscarriage," Mia answered. "How so?" Greg asked. He hated having to reveal his grand-daughter's tragedy to people who had no business knowing it, but the D.A. had opened up the past to paint John's character; that he was angry at the young woman who said that John had raped him; the D.A. was trying to paint the alleged rape as payback for all that had been done to Mia. "I was taking birth control pills and John used condoms, well, most of the time. I never, never forgot to take a pill until I was hospitalized. By the time I woke up from my coma, I had already missed two days of the pill and the doctor said that they needed to make sure that I wasn't pregnant before they could put me back on the pill. When the first test taken a few days later was inconclusive, I had to wait another three weeks for another one," Mia answered, her voice was shaking and her face was pale and pained, as if talking about the past was physically hurting her. "Then what happened?" Greg asked gently. Mia glanced towards John who met her gaze and gave her an encouraging smile. "The day before I was scheduled to retest, John was helping me walk through the halls as part of my physical therapy and my abdomen started cramping really badly. John helped me back to my room and as he did, I started hemorrhaging. The ultra sound revealed that the bleeding was because of the fetus and part of the placenta detaching from my uterus and that I had just had a miscarriage," Mia said shakily. There were tears in her eyes now that spilled over, down her cheeks. John started to stand up, desperate to go to Mia, to comfort her but the bailiff placed his hand on his gun; Greg turned back to the man his granddaughter had chosen to spend her life with. "Sit down John," Greg commanded. John hesitated for a moment, his eyes locked on Mia. "John, sit down, I-I'm okay," Mia said, her voice was quiet, strained. John refused to sit however until the Judge recessed the court and Mia made her way back to him. "I'm sorry," John whispered as he pulled Mia to him and hugged her close. "You didn't do anything wrong," Mia said firmly, her voice still shaking. "I wish I could spare you the pain of having to remember this," John murmured, his hands stroked the back of her hair soothingly "It hurts you too," Mia reminded him. John sighed and wished he was better at hiding his pain. "Don't shut yourself away John, please," Mia whispered. John hugged her again and lowered his lips to her. "I love you Mia, so much. You've endured so much and still landed on top. I am so glad that I found you," John's voice was low and it sent a shiver down Mia's spine. "I love you too," Mia murmured, closing her eyes as she tried to block out the truth of where they were. The Judge watched from the doorway of his chamber as John and Mia comforted each other, his eyes narrowed, his brow furrowed in contemplation. He had seen many rapists and murders in his career and John displayed none of the characteristics nor arrogance that he normally saw and it made him stop, think and consider the looks he had seen on the victim's face; Charlotte Wright. The girl was a convicted felon; attempted murder and her jealously of Mia and all she had showed in Charlotte's eyes. The Judge shook his head and said something quietly to the bailiff who nodded and walked over to just behind the bench that the D.A. sat at, spoke softly to Charlotte and led her to the Judge's chambers. John looked up as the bailiff stopped in front of the defense table. "His honor would like to speak with you and your lawyer," the bailiff told John. John glanced at Mia, kissed her and reluctantly pulled away from the only woman he had ever loved. He swallowed nervously as he followed Greg into the Judge's chambers, leaving Mia in Catie and Luke's care. Mia shrieked in surprise as John grabbed her and swung her around. "John? What the hell is going on?" Mia asked as he lowered her to the ground before lowering his lips to hers and kissing her until she was breathless. "Wait just a little while longer love," John promised, turning back towards the bench as the Judge called the court back into session. "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, thank you for your service, you are free to go." Mia's eyes widened in alarm and she glanced at John who smiled slightly and squeezed her hand. "Grandpa, what is going on?" Mia whispered. Greg smiled and shushed his granddaughter as the Judge turned his hardening gaze to Charlotte. "Ms. Wright, you admitted just a few moments ago in my chambers that Mr Hall never touched you, let alone rape you, is that correct?" the judge asked. Charlotte nodded and glanced at Mia whose look of alarm turned to surprise. "Before I pass sentence on you, would you like to give an explanation?" the judge wanted to know. Mia looked behind her shoulder as her parents came up behind her. "I was angry with Mia. Despite me ruining her career as a professional dancer, she still has someone that loves her, a family, a home, a job. I'm unbelievably jealous, and one day, just over a year ago, I met a man who came into the hospital that I work in; he said that he had been screwed over by Mia's family and that he had heard about what I had done to Mia in New York. He said he wanted to get back at Mia's mother," Charlotte said haltingly. "Who is this man?" the judge inquired. Charlotte looked around. "Him," Charlotte answered, pointing to a man in the crowd. The entire court room followed Charlotte's finger and Lily gasped and paled as she recognized the man who stood up, looking for a way out. Two officers grabbed him. "Mr. Hall, you are free to go, all charges have been dropped and your record will be expunged." John's arm tightened around Mia's waist as she felt her go limp in his arms. The judge turned his expression back to Charlotte. "As for you Ms. Wright, filing a false police report is against the law, stealing someone's blood that has been donated to the Red Cross is against the law. You are remanded into custody without bail until your trial begins at a date that will be set at a later date," the judge announced before banging the gavel. John finally turned back towards Mia. His eyes closed as she threw her arms around his neck and pressed herself against him. "I love you," John whispered. Mia smiled and without any regard for the people around her, kissed him. John groaned and pulled away reluctantly. "Mia love, not here. For God's sake, your parents are right behind you!" John reminded her. Mia blushed as she shifted her feet until she was standing on the very tips of her toes and her mouth was next to his ear. "Take me to bed," she murmured. John groaned again and moved away only long enough to give his's an apologetic glance before following Mia from the courtroom. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mia gasped as her back hit the wall and giggled as John pushed the door closed and locked it. "If you like that dress love, I suggest you take it off," John managed to say as he tugged his pants and boxers down his legs. He stepped out of them and kicked them away. Mia quickly dispensed with the buttons on the back of the dress and let it fall away. John moaned and Mia giggled. "You are such a tease Mia," he groaned before lowering his head to kiss her. Mia moaned and her breath hitched as John lifted her off of her feet; she wrapped her legs around his waist as he plunged into her. "John, harder," Mia moaned as her body bucked against his. John closed his eyes as he pounded in and out of her. After making sure he had a firm arm around her, John slid a hand and pinched a nipple. Mia moaned loudly as electric shocks went down her spine. "I love you John!" Mia wailed as her climax hit her like a freight train. "I love you too!" John exclaimed, his voice hoarse as his seed thundered into her. Mia's eyes snapped open when she heard childish giggling coming from the living room. She glanced at the clock and gasped in surprise; the red numbers glared 12:45p angrily at her. Mia sighed, a depression falling over her at the fact that the side that John usually slept in was cold again. Had she dreamed the whole thing? Was John home or was he still in jail? Mia stretched and winced at the soreness in her legs and thighs but she forced herself to get out of bed and walked into the master bathroom to relieve herself. "I guess it wasn't a dream," she murmured to herself when she saw the love bites on her neck. Mia washed her hands and pulled her robe on over her naked flesh before heading for the living room. "Morning love," John said, looking up from the blocks that Angel kept trying to knock over. "Hi," Mia murmured, a soft smile appearing on her face as she watched father and child play together. "When did Aunt Grace bring Angel home?" she asked. "About an hour ago. I was going to wake you up but you looked so peaceful and I know you haven't been sleeping well," John answered. "Are you hungry?" he wanted to know. Mia nodded. "Angel, I'll be right back okay? I'm going to make some lunch," John said, turning his attention back to his daughter who nodded, as if she knew what her father was saying. Angel turned her attention to her mother, pushed herself off of the floor, stretched her arms into the air and exclaimed, "Up!" Mia laughed and lifted her daughter into the air. "Morning princess," Mia murmured, giving her daughter a hug. She carried Angel into the kitchen and set her down in her high chair. "I can't believe you're here," Mia murmured, walking up to John and wrapping her arms around his waist. "I'm here love and I'm not going anywhere," John said, turning back towards her and folding his arms around her. John glanced at Angel before pressing a kiss to Mia's cheek. "The soup is burning," Mia said softly. John turned around and lowered the heat of the burner as Mia dished out a small portion of the tomato soup. He watched as Mia crumpled up a few crackers into the bowl and sat down to feed Angel her lunch. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mia?" John asked later that night as he held Mia in his arms after another night of intense lovemaking. "Hmm?" Mia murmured, snuggling closer to her husband, glad to be back in his arms. "I was wondering; how likely is it that we just made another baby?" John asked hesitantly. Mia glanced at him curiously before sighing deeply. "I had Mirena inserted after Angel was born, hoping that you'd come home a lot sooner than you did," Mia answered. John gave a small sigh of relief. "I want more children with you Mia, especially if they are as beautiful as Angel is, but right now, I just need to get used to being back with you and with Angel," John told her. Mia smiled and nodded. "I'm glad you're home," Mia murmured. John grinned. "Show me," he challenged. Life Renewed Ch. 06 CHAPTER SIX: The End "Welcome back to jail," a guard said as she escorted Charlotte into a cell. "Don't be too rough ladies," she added before closing and locking the door. Charlotte turned to look at her cellmates and swallowed hard when she saw the three women she would be sharing the cell with. "Look Mel, fresh meat," one of the women said with a grin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Where are we going Luke?" Catie asked, hating the fact that he had blindfolded her. "You'll see," Luke said with a grin. Catie made a noise of aggravation. "We're almost there," Luke promised. Catie growled and Luke laughed. Catie shook her head after Luke removed the blindfold and looked around. "Where are we?" Catie wanted to know. "Our new apartment," Luke said, hoping his nervousness didn't show. "Our what?" Catie asked, not sure if she heard him correctly. "I've leased this apartment for us. My other apartment was over priced for what it offered so I leased an apartment here with the intent of adding your name to it," Luke answered. "What do you think?" he asked a few moments later. Catie looked around the sparsely furnished apartment before turning her attention back to her boyfriend. "I love it and I love you!" Catie squealed, folding her arms around his neck and hugging him close. Luke grinned and let out a sigh of relief as he kissed her softly. "One part down, one more to go," he thought to himself. "Let me show you the master bedroom," Luke told her. He grabbed her hand and led her down the hallway to the master bedroom. Catie's eyes widened; the bedroom was the most decorated room in the house with a king size bed against one wall but smack dab in the middle of the wall with matching oak dressers on the wall by the bedroom door. On either side of the bed sat two small, oak bedside tables. Some of the water color paintings that Catie had painted hung on the walls; tears sprang to her eyes when she saw them. "Oh Luke," Catie whispered. Luke grinned and swallowed hard. "I have to grab something from the car, why don't you go try out the bath tub in the master bath," Luke suggested. Catie nodded and after Luke walked out of the room, she walked into the bathroom, pulling her clothes off as she walked. Catie gasped at the exquisiteness of the marble floor and counter top; Luke had picked out sage green bathroom rug to place just inside the door, and a matching towel was placed just in front of the jacuzzi tub. Catie knelt down to start the water when a small velvet box caught her eye. She turned on the water, adjusted the temperature, plugged up the tub before picking up the box and opening it. Catie gasped and looked up when she heard Luke in the doorway. "Catie Lynn Billings, will you marry me?" Luke asked, his voice quiet. Catie looked down at the ring, up to Luke and back down to the ring before looking at Luke again. "What took you so long?" Catie asked. Luke laughed shakily as Catie pulled the ring from the box and slipped it on her finger. He crossed the threshold and hugged her tight. "I love you," Luke whispered, groaned as Catie began tearing at his clothes. They stepped into the jacuzzi tub and Luke turned off the faucet and turned on the jets. Catie moaned as one of the jets hit her clit. "Like that do you?" Luke whispered, nibbling on Catie's neck while he slid a finger deep inside her. Catie moaned and squirmed making Luke chuckle. He curled and uncurled his finger slowly, teasingly; Catie gasped and her hips rose up out of the water. Luke grinned and changed the position he was sitting in so that his face was between her thighs. "Oh God, Luke, you're killing me!" Catie exclaimed as he began licking her clit while he continued to stroke deep inside her. Luke chuckled, sending intense vibrations rumbling through her; Catie gasped and raised her hips higher towards his face. Catie pulled her hands out of the water and dug them in Luke's hair, pulling him closer. "Luke!" Catie cried out sharply as she came, drenching Luke's face with her juices. She squirmed and whimpered as Luke continued to lick at her and flick his finger inside her, without giving her a chance to recover. Their eyes met and Luke couldn't help but smile at the look on Catie's face. "I need a minute," Catie gasped. Luke gave a reluctant growl but pulled away from her soaked core. "I love you Cate," Luke said. Catie smiled and lunged at him. "My turn," she said evilly as she poised her pussy just over his excruciatingly hard cock. "Tease," Luke retorted. "Am I?" Catie asked, raising an eye brow as she slid slowly down him, eliciting a deep moan from Luke. "Hell yes," Luke managed. Catie giggled as she lowered herself further down him before rising back up him, slowly, tantalizingly. "Do you like it?" Catie murmured. Luke groaned again in response, grasped her hips in his hands and began thrusting with her. "I'll take that as a yes," Catie said with a wicked smile. "Shut up," Luke grumbled, thrusting harder and faster within her causing Catie to gasp. He grinned again as he felt Catie's body tremble around his. Their hips rose together as they climbed towards ecstasy; Luke's eyes locked with Catie before closing tightly as she altered her rhythm. "Oh God Catie," he groaned as he felt the pressure building within him. Luke reached out and began playing with her nipples causing Catie to whimper loudly; he pulled her closer to him and began sucking on one of her nipples. Catie screamed as she came again, harder than she had before. Her body clenched around Luke's cock and his seed spewed from his body and into hers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mia, over here!" Catie exclaimed as Mia made her way through a crowded restaurant. "Hey guys," Mia said breathlessly as she gave her sister a hug. "Are you enjoying having John home?" Hope asked. "Of course she is silly," Mia's friend Amber said, rolling her eyes. Catie laughed and Mia blushed. "It is nice," Mia agreed. "So how'd you manage to get out tonight?" Hope asked. "John wanted to spend some alone time with Angel," Mia answered. She turned to her sister. "We haven't seen much of you or Luke lately, what gives?" Mia wanted to know. It was Catie's turn to blush. "Well?" Mia asked. "We've been celebrating," Catie said finally. "Celebrating? You know dad will kill Luke if he's knocked you up," Mia warned with a bemused grin. "Luke and I moved in together," Catie told her sister, taking a long drag of her water. "Dad is not going to like that," Mia teased. "Your dad is so over protective," Amber said with a laugh. "You'd better hope dad doesn't even catch a guy looking at me or Dad goes ape," Hope sighed. "This is pathetic. We're all over eighteen and we're still so concerned with if our fathers are going to kill us for looking at a guy twice," Eve groaned. "Well my dad is just going to have to get used to the fact that Luke and I are moving in together." Catie waited a moment and glanced at the other girls at the table. "And getting married," she added with a broad grin. The other girls squealed and Mia gave her sister a hug. "Amber, go order a bottle of wine, it's time to celebrate!" Hope announced. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -3 Years later- "Mommy, mommy, mommy!" Angel exclaimed loudly from her bedroom. Mia groaned as she slid out of bed, glancing at John who was still asleep. "Morning sweetie," Mia said sleepily as she lifted her daughter from the crib. "Go get daddy," she added after Angel's pull up was changed and she was dressed. Angel ran into her parents room, yelling for John as she went. "Mia you brat!" John groaned from the bedroom. Mia laughed as she pulled eggs out of the refrigerator. "It's time for breakfast," Mia told him as he walked into the kitchen carrying Angel. "I'm not hungry for eggs," John said with a grin. "Good because I'm making pancakes," Mia said with a smirk. John groaned as he set Angel into her booster chair. "Would you make the coffee?" Mia asked. John nodded and reached into the cupboard and pulled out a plastic container of coffee. "Why did you throw out the other coffee? We just bought it last week," John wanted to know. Mia smiled slightly but concentrated on making the pancakes. "Decaf Mia?" John asked in surprise. Mia nodded as she poured some melted butter into the thick batter. "What's going on?" John wanted to know. Mia just smiled again as she pulled out the electric skillet. "Mia?" John asked as he scooped some beans into the grinder. Before Mia could answer, Catie and Luke walked into the kitchen. "Morning Mia," Catie said, sitting down next to her niece. "Morning," Mia answered, she gave Catie a wink. "What the hell is going on?" John asked, looking from Mia to Catie. "Beats me," Luke said, giving his sister a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Daddy said a bad word!" Angel tattled. Mia giggled and gave John an admonishing look. "So what's up with the decaf coffee?" John asked. "You're serious aren't you?" Mia asked, glancing at Catie with a bemused smile. John nodded and followed Mia's gaze as she glanced at Angel. "Wait, are you ..." John looked at Mia sharply. "Yes," Mia said with a soft smile. "Is she what?" Luke asked, confused. "Pregnant," Mia answered. Luke gave her another hug and sat down next to Catie at the table. "What?" John asked, looking from Mia to Catie back to Mia again. "So am I," Catie said after a minute. Luke looked stunned and John started laughing. "What's so funny?" Mia demanded to know. John pointed to Luke before answering, "We're doomed." I am considering writing Catie and Luke's story, but classes are getting a little hectic so I don't have as much time. Thanks for the criticism and I hope you enjoy the end of Mia's story. I have another story in the works. Ashira
