The Last of the White Tigers

Kay shot straight up in bed her body bathed in a cold sweat as she screams out in terror. The door flies open as her father rushes to her side. He wraps his arms around her and whispers softly "Kayleagha it is just a dream"

"I know, I don't know how much longer we can keep the truth from her? Our little girl is coming of age, she will be 21 in three days and you know what will happen then?"

"Yes her world will change and there is nothing we can do to stop it. The need to keep the truth from her is to protect her. But Roger how can we let her face this alone. My family line has take then task of protecting the last of them for generations. Kayleagha is the last. It was such an honour to be chosen as her protectors, but if we can't find someplace to hide her soon, they will come for her and all the work that my family has done will be in vain."

"Maybe my brother will let us have the cabin this weekend, there will be enough room for her to change there and it is far enough away from any pack land that there is a chance that none of the Were's will know."

"But what then my love, we can't teach her how to protect herself once she changes and there is only so much the memories of the others can give her. She needs to find her mate, and we can pray to Luna that he will accept her for who she is."

"Isn't your sister close to Donavan?"

"You can't mean to hand her over to the Master Alpha?"

"No, I was thinking that maybe Rebecca can find a Were who has been out casted to train her."

"Bec did say that Donavan's sister is different. It seems that she can't shift like normal Were's. Maybe just maybe she will keep Kay's secret and train her to be able to fight and if the time comes protect herself."

"Then I think we should get some sleep I will speak to Robert in the morning, we done have much time and there will be a lot we have to do before we leave tomorrow afternoon." They lay down and cuddled each other close as they drift off to sleep.

Kay shifts in her bed as she slips back into the dreams of the past that have haunted her since her 16th birthday.

Running through the trees around the her uncle Robert's cabin in Montana feels more like home then Kay ever felt in the busy street of LA. Exhausted and sweaty Kay drops down on the porch by her mother's feet. "Wow Mom this place is great."

"I am so glad you like it up here sweetie, me and your Dad have been trying to get your stubborn uncle to let us use it for years."

"What changed his mind?"

"Your Father decided that we wanted to have a change of pace so he gave Rob our house in LA in exchange for the cabin."

Roger looks up from the book he is reading to watch the two most important women in his life talk. "So sweetie how do you want to celebrate your birthday?"

"Oh I don't know, I think I just want to spend some time with you guys. Mom you said that auntie Bec was coming to visit and might have a guest with her?"

"She said she would be here sometime tonight but I don't know if she will have anyone with her."

"Well ok Mom, let's go in I am starved."

Turning the water on in the shower she waits till it gets warm, undressing and staring at herself in the mirror. Taking her long hair out of its braid till it falls over her ass. "500 years ago when the council of the Were's came into being, there was a race of Were's which were white tigers. They were used during the Rogue wars to kill off all those who opposed them, and once the white tigers had outlived there usefulness the council had them all killed off."

"I learned part of that at school Mom."

"I know you did sweetie, but here is the part that you were never taught. All the white tigers were female, the descendants of Luna's daughter Lunera. Some of the white tigers know that something bad was coming so they hid a few of their offspring among the humans, Luna helped them do this. Casting a spell that hid the girls until their 21st birthday. You my dear Kayleagha are the last of the descendants."

"But Mom today is my 21st birthday, you are telling me not only am I Were but I am a white tiger?"

"Yes my dear Kayleagha, you are me and your mother have been protecting you till you came of age and now that you have had your mating dream, your we need to help you find your soul mate."

The backdoor opens and a short brunette walks in followed but a petite woman with long black hair and violet eyes. "Is anyone here?"

Kay shifts in her seat then drops to the floor crouching before jumping over her aunt and lands on the other woman roaring out "WHERE IS HE?"

Bec looks at Lupina, "Are you OK?"

"Yeah but what is happening here, I think I was just attacked by a tiger?"

Roger gets up from the table and walks over to Bec pulling her into a hug. "I wish you had gotten here earlier. Kayleagha had her mating dream today and well you know what that means?"

"Oh Luna."

"What is going on here?"

"I am sorry my dear friend, Lupina I would like to introduce you to my sister Susan and her husband Roger. The girl who jumped you would be my niece Kayleagha."

"What do you mean by mating dream Roger, us Were have not had that since the destruction of the white tigers almost 500 years ago when we fell out of favour with the Goddess Luna."

Susan clears her throat. "I don't know how much you know about the white tigers Lupina but I can say that they were not all destroyed."

"WHAT."

"The white tigers knew that something was wrong, they hid a few of the young ones from the council and with the Goddess Luna's help they stayed hidden till the time came for them to take mates."

Lupina runs her hand over her face as she stumbles with the help of Bec to the nearest chair. "You mean to tell me that, that girl is a white tiger?"

"Yes"

"Why did she attach me?"

"The only reason that I can think to give you has something to do with her soul mate."

Kayleagha runs to the meadow not far from the house and collapses in a heap in the center. Laying in a shaft of pure moonlight. Breathing hard and trying to come to grips with everything that has happened to her today. Slowly here breathing slows and she turns her face up looking directly at the moon. "Why is this happening to me?"

The moonlight washes over her body and she starts to calm right down until a soft female voice echos in her head "Because my dear great, great granddaughter it is time for you to be who you were always meant to be."

"What?"

The voice echos in her head again "You are the last to bare my mark, the last and strongest of my line since Lunera."

"But how can that be? Why me?"

"You are the fated one my dear Kayleagha, the one to bring the Were back to me. You will find your mate when you are ready and in that bring the council to it's knees."

A scream of pain is ripped from Kay's lips as her body starts to contort and shift. Her back arch, hands grip at the ground. Throwing her head back and screaming again. Her bones pop and realign themselves. Fur sprouts all over her body. Kay's tank top and shorts split at the seams as she changes shape. Jaw drops open and elongates just slightly as massive teeth pop out. Kay collapses to her belly panting as the last of the change takes hold.

Shakily she raises back up on her paws lifts her head and roars defiantly at the moon. "Are you happy now?"

Everyone jumps up from there chairs at the sound of the first scream. Roger is the first out the door, followed by Bec and Susan.

Lupina shivers and takes off out the back door behind them. They run toward the sound of the scream. 

Another scream rips through the quiet night and small animals scurry out into the night.

Lupina slams into the back of Roger who is standing at the edge of the meadow. She shifts around to see what the three are staring at, just in time to see the last of Kayleagha's shift. Then collapses gripping her head as a voice roars in her head "Are you happy now?"

Lupina shifts waking up in a bed and wonders how she got there. Slowly opening her eyes to see the redheaded girl that everyone so far has called Kayleagha, sitting on the bed beside her watching her. "I am sorry I hurt you." 

"Who were you roaring at?" 

"Luna." 

"You spoke to Luna, how is that possible? She has forsaken all Weres." 

"Luna has not forsaken me, well at least I don't think she has. She picked a mate for me after all." 

"So what does this so called mate of yours look like anyway?" 

"Well he kinda looks like you. The same black hair and blue eyes." 

"Was he really tall, broad shoulders?" 

"Yes." 

Lupina looks around for her stuff, pulling her wallet out of her purse. Opens up the wallet and hands a small picture to Kayleagha. "Is that him?" 

Kay purrs softly as she looks at the picture, "Yes that is him." 

Lupina stiffens just slightly and screams "Bec we have a problem." 

Bec, Susan and Roger come running into the room to see Kayleagha, rubbing the picture against her cheek purring softly. 

"Lup what is the problem?" 

"Well it seems your little cat like niece is soul mated to Don." 

"Shit, that is really going to be a problem." 

Susan looks at Bec. "What do you mean by that Sis?" 

"The last of the white tigers is soul mated to the Master Alpha." 

Susan gasps and grabs Rogers arm. "How can that be? Why would Luna be so cruel?" 

"I don't think that she means to be cruel. Maybe she is trying to bring back the white tigers in the strongest way, by mating the last of Lunera's line with the last full male descendant from Luner's line." 

"So you know the myth about the white tigers, how they came to be?" 

"Yeah we were taught about it in our history classes. Luna fell in love with her first creation, a Werewolf she aptly named Luner. The union spawned a single offspring a daughter. When she turned 21 years of age, that is human years. Lunar shifted for the first time, into a almost glowing white tiger." 

"That is the basics of the myth yes." 

"It was almost 200 years later that Lunar mated for the first time to a human male, he could never shift. There six daughters on the other hand were just like there mother. All of which mated back into the Were lines and the white tigers spread. It is a rather recessive gene and after the daughters had children only one third of there female offspring were tigers." 

"Does that not mean that another white tiger could or has popped up in the wolf population since then?" 

"It takes two parents with the gene to create a tiger and not many have it now or it is breed out of the wolves almost completely now." 

"OK, so auntie Bec why did you bring her here?" 

"Kay I brought Lupina here so that she could teach you to fight." 

"Oh, OK so can we wait till the morning to do that I am tired?" 

"Yes we can wait till the morning." 

"Can I keep this picture please?" 

"Yes keep it. Now out of here I want to get back to sleep. You need to be up early tomorrow Kay." 

"OK, OK I am going." Kay clenches the picture to her chest. She jumps off the bed and races out the hall. "Night Mom, Dad, Auntie Bec." 

Kay almost slams her bedroom door shut and quickly strips, then climbs into bed. Not before she places the picture on the nightstand. She snuggles under the covers and quickly slips off into dreams about Don.

The air is hot and moist, almost like it was back in LA on a really hot day. Kay lays in the middle of a meadow, surrounded by tall almost ancient tree, unlike any she has ever seen before. She can hardly see through the trees to see the sky over head but a single shaft of moonlight makes it through and shines down on her. 

Donavon runs carefree through the an ancient forest, scenting the air as he runs. A trace of the most exciting scent he has ever smelt tickles his nose. Almost like vanilla and honey, so sweet that it catches his attention. His wolf howls out "MINE" and he quickly shifts. Taking off in the direction the scent is coming from. 

Kay sighs and detects the slight sound of a howl in the distance. Stretching and rolling over on her stomach. Kay hums softly to herself as she just listens to the sounds of the forest. 

The smell is getting stronger. Donavon picks up the pace. Growling softly with his growing need to get there faster. 

Laying her head on her hands, she closes her eyes and quietly rests thinking of handsome man in the picture. Purring ever so softly she wonders what he is like. 

The scent is even stronger. Donavon bursts through a bush and lands on the side of the meadow. Before him is the source of the heavenly smell. 

The crash of something coming through the bush of to the left of the meadow causes Kay to jerk up. Her eyes go wide with fear. Standing there is the largest Wolf she has ever seen. It stands higher then her seated form, almost solid black, save for a strip of silver on it's chest. She shifts back slightly, and glaces around trying to find away to get away from it. 

Instantly detects the scent of fear now coming from the girl. Donavon slowly starts to move toward her. 

Kay shifts back from the wolf's approaching form. 

The scent of fear gets stronger almost overpowering the heavenly scent he had smelt before. Whining softly Donovan drops down on his belly and rests his head on his front paws. 

Almost shocked by the wolf's reaction, Kay stops and tilts her head to the side watching it. 

Donavon watches her, gets up just slightly and moves an inch toward her on his belly. All the time still whining softly. 

Kay shiver, just watching the wolf. She has never heard of a wolf acting this way, but then again she has never met a wolf before. 

Donavon thinks to himself "By Luna is she beautiful." 

Kay shakes her head just slightly. "You are not a wolf are you? You are a Were?" 

If his wolf could smile he would be right now. "Yes I am Were but I am also a wolf, how did you know that? Little one how did you get here?" Donavon projected to her. 

"Oh, I am dreaming. From what I can gather you must be as well." 

Donavon inches even closer to her. Scenting the air. The scent of fear has faded but is still lingering around her. 

Kay settles and watches him come closer. "Why are you here wolf?" 

"I followed a scent I had never smelt before." 

"Oh, and what was that scent wolf?" 

"You." 

"Why would my scent draw you wolf? There is nothing special about the way I smell." 

"Oh quite the opposite little one, your scent is heavenly." Donavon stops just inches from her and breaths in deeply. 

Kay blushs and shifts back again. "Oh Whoa there wolf boy, I am spoken for." 

Donavon growls softly, "Who is this man who lays claim to you, I don't smell anyone else on you." 

"That is cause I have not met him yet, but I know what he looks like. Luna showed me."

The alarm beside Kay's bed starts to buzz loudly. She groans as she smacks it then rubs her hand over her face. Thinking to herself ' Why do I have to have such fucked up dreams?'

Donavon howls out in displeasure as the girl suddenly disappears, then lays down on the spot where she was sitting. Her scent still lingers around him.

Kay gets out of bed and heads to the shower. Once she is done, she dresses comfortably in shorts and a tank top. Then braids her hair so it hangs down her back. Smiling she heads down stairs to the kitchen. "So Mom what is for breakfast?" 

"Bacon, eggs and hash browns. Take a seat before it gets cold." 

Kay takes a seat and quickly eats down her breakfast. "Mom where is Lupina?" 

"She is outside waiting for you." 

Kay jumps up from the table, kisses her mom on the cheek and takes off out the back door. She runs off toward the meadow thinking that is where Lup would want to see her. 

Breaking through the trees she see Lupina sitting cross legged in the center, eyes closed. She starts to slowly walk into the meadow. 

"So it took you long enough sleepyhead." 

"Oh how did you know I was even here?" 

"I can smell you." 

"Oh that is strange that sounds like the wolf I saw in my dreams." 

"You saw a wolf in your dreams Kay?" 

"Yes a black wolf, with a silver strip on it's chest. Luna he was big and I know it was a he by the way he reacted to me." 

Lupina just smiles, "Ok, now I think we should get down to why I am here. I am Were, a wolf to be percises. Yet there is something wrong with me thou I have my wolf half and I can hear her I have never shifted." 

"Oh that is strange." 

"I dont think I have ever really had a need to do so. I have seven brothers and well they have always been so over protective of me that the need never arose that I would need to use her. Thou our parents did insist that I learn to fight and that is why I am here. To train you like I was." With that she stands and looks over at Kay. "The first thing I need to see is how fast you are. Lets go for a run." 

Kayleagha smiles, turning and takes off running. Darting through the trees as she picks up her pace. Enjoying the wind against her skin she just runs. 

"Whoa there Kay, I can see that you really enjoy running." 

"Yeah it was the only thing I could do when we lived in LA that kept people away from me." 

"What do you mean by that?" 

"Well when I turned fourteen Mom and Dad had to change schools for me after one of the older Were males pinned me to a locker, and proceeded to start licking at my neck. It really freaked me out so I shoved him and he went flying." 

"So what kinda of school did you go to after that?" 

"My parents found a private all human school for me to go to. It was not as bad but the only sports that they would let me compete in were running cause they said I was too strong for anything else. Plus Mom put me in an advanced gymnastics group. She said I needed to have grace. What the parents did not know is that I used to run with a group that used the structures in the city like obstacles to over come, we were so good that we could basically scale some of the smaller buildings with no problem." 

"Now that is interesting, do you think you could keep up the pace you have set for yourself on the ground say up in the trees?" 

"Oh I don't know I have never tried it." 

"Well lets see then." 

Kay runs up to the nearest grouping of large trees and repels herself up to the lowest hanging strong branches by rebounding from one tree trunk to the next. 

Lup just watches. "Now that is cool, never thought to get up that way before. Most Were would either just jump up or climb the tree." 

"I find this way easier, you don't lose momentum." 

"Well that is true, is that like what you did with that group?" 

"Yeah we did this a lot, it is one of the ways I kept in shape and it came in handy when I needed to get home quick. There were certain times of the month that Mom really did not want me out and about." 

"Yeah most male Were's are drawn to even human females when they are on there period or ovulating, it has something to do with the way they smell at that time." 

"Oh that really makes sense. That was also the reason that they switched me schools I think the Were's who used to pick on me started trying to get really close when I turned fourteen." 

"That could be, but lets get back to your training. I want you to race me back to the meadow, but you need to go all the way around before you get there. You have to stay in the trees. OK now lets go." Lupina takes off running. 

Kay looks around before jumping from the branch she is on to a branch on the next tree. Carefully planning the path in her head she stays on that branch for just a moment before jumping to the next. This continues till she comes upon meadow again. Not really paying attention she jumps off the branch, landing on the ground in a full crouch. Then she looks around to see Lupina break through the trees to stop beside her. 

"Oh very good, you are starting to tap into your inner tiger. Tigers move very quickly through the trees." 

"Oh I never even thought about it, you told me to race you and all I thought about was how to get from one tree to the next till I got to my objective." 

"That is the best way to do it for racing, but when it comes to fighting. You need to do almost the same thing. Your objective with fighting is to watch your enemy and try to anticipate there next move." 

"Well I have never been in a fight really. I don't know if I can do it." 

"I am sure that you can if your life depends on it. Lets start with defending." 

Lupina starts to come at Kay, causing her to shift her footing just as Lupina is right on top of her. Turning and side stepping out of Lupina's path. Lup swings at Kay. Kay shifts and bats her hand out of her way. 

Kay uses moves that seem almost dancer like to keep herself away from Lupina every time she comes at her. 

Winded Lupina drops down on the ground, Kay sits right down beside her. "I don't think you need to worry about defence, I am winded and you don't even seem to have broke a sweat." 

"Well this is like the exercises we used to do in gymnastics. Our object was to keep moving until one of use was to winded or tired to continue. I was really go at that, almost always won." 

"They did a lot of the training that you needed to learn to defend yourself. Tomorrow we are going to start on you attacking me. I want to see how strong you actually are." 

"OK no problem." Kay gets up and starts running back to the house. Once there she runs back up stairs to her room and lays down on her bed. Closing her eyes she thinks about the dream she had the night before. 

'Maybe next time I wont retreat from him. I don't know this wolf but maybe just maybe the reason that I saw him is important.'



The Last of the White Tigers Ch. 04



"Kay where are you?"

"I am Upstairs Mom."

Susan came up the stairs and knocked on Kay's door.

"OK Mom you can come in."

"So tell me how did your first day of training go?"

"I think I shocked Lup with how fast I was and my defensive abilities. It was really fun actually. I think she is going to start treating me to fight tomorrow."

*Well my dear that is something that you are going to need to be able to do."

"But how is she going to teach me to fight in my Were form, she does not have one?"

"We will just have to see what she does now wont we. Kay takes a nap and rest. Supper will be done in a couple of hours and you are going to need your rest for tomorrow."

"Ok Mom."

Susan leaves Kay as she climbs up and lies down on her pillows.

Lupina drops down on the one chair on the front porch beside where Bec is sitting. "I really don't have much to teach that girl Bec. She is almost capable of protecting herself from just about anything already."

"Oh I did not think that she could, she was such a sweet and calm child."

"She most likely was she does not seem to have a violent nature. Which I actually find strange considering everything that we were taught about the white tigers when we were learning history. The Elders told us that it was there violence that drove to them being killed off."

"No from what we were taught the white tigers thou they were strong they were one of the most docile creatures. They only became violent because they were ordered to by the council."

"That is so strange. Why would the council want to destroy them? I can see where the Wolfs and Bears would not like them considering they were ruled by females, hell they were all female. In the last two hundred years they are starting to allow female Alpha's to rule packs and prides."

"Well that at least is in our favor."

Susan comes out the front door. "I told Kay to have a nap."

"Oh that is a good idea it gives us some time to discuss a few things."

"Kay brought a valid point up just before I left her. We are going to need to find a Were to teach her to fight in her White Tiger form."

"I know I have been thinking about that myself. There is only one man I can think to help."

"Oh who would that be?"

"His name is Grason. He was the great uncle to one of my best friends when I was a kid. The story behind him goes that when he was younger in his 30's I think he sort of went nuts. Or at least that is how my friend's mom's described it. He was having strange dreams or that is what he was telling his sister. He got aggressive and always felt the need to leave but he stayed to help his sister with her children."

Susan and Bec look at each other.

"Then one night about 6 months after the dreams had started he woke up screaming Millancent. Since no one knew anyone that name they could not know what was wrong. Before they could stop him he shifted and ran off into the night."

"By Luna, that makes Grason Kayleagha's father."

"WHAT?"

"Kayleagha's mother was Millancent."

"Wow, from what I was told Grason disappeared for a little over twenty years and when he returned he was broken almost. He said he had found his mate and lost her. His only reason to live was that he knew he had a child out there somewhere."

"You want to bring Grason here to teach Kay right?"

"That is what I was thinking. The Council called him a worthless man after he came back he refused to fight but he did like to teach some of the younger ones."

"Do it. I think he would be a good man to teach her."

Lupina pulls out her cell phone and flips it open. Then punch's in a number. "Hello Grason Sir this is Lupina, you know Dara's friend. I have a student for you to teach. Yes, she is going to be a real challenge. Just give me a second." covers the receiver. "Where exactly are we?"

"Northern Montana. Tell him to go to Eureka and he should be able to scent track you from there."

"Grason Sir if you go to Eureka you should be able to track me from there. Yes Sir I will see you in a couple of days."

"OK done. He should be here in two days."

"I hope I am doing the right thing. We hid her birth from him all those years ago. Kept his daughter from him and now we are giving her back to him."

"You will give him back his reason for living Susan. Even though he has never met him the only reason he did not kill himself when he lost Millancent was because he knew he had a child out there somewhere. Now he gets the honor of meeting her, training her, and he will help to protect her to his dyeing breath like any Were father would."

"I hope you are right Lupina, I just hope you are right."

Kay opens her eyes and she is sitting in the same clearing as she was before. She looked around and thinking that she might actually be alone here, figures it is a safe place for her to practice some of the things she learned.

Getting up Kay stretches and then takes off running. Breaking thought the bushes that surround the clearing she starts running through the trees, then glances up and sees that the branches of these trees would be more able to handle her weight then the ones outside the cabin. She quickly repleses herself up into the trees and starts jumping from branch to branch. Swinging and twisting in the branches, she moves quickly.

The tree line suddenly comes to a stop and she looks out from in the branches. There is a cliff face about 50 feet from where she is, with a waterfall cutting down it. Sitting at the bottom is what seems to be a deep pool with her dream man swimming in it.

Shifting down to sit on the branch she just watches him swim.

Donovan swims lazily in the pool, strong steady strokes. Then he turns and floats on his back thinking of the girl he saw here last night.

When he flips over onto his back Kayleagha notices that he is naked. She blushes and bites her lower lip. All sorts of lustful thoughts pass through her mind and she starts to get excited. Leaning back against the tree trunk staying hidden among the branches she continues to watch him.

He breaths deeply trying to think, catching her scent again and it is close. Donovan turns his head slightly trying to figure out where she is. He figures out what direction she is in but he can't seem to pinpoint exactly where she is.

Kay shifts just slightly when his head turns in her direction.

The leaves on one tree move just slightly.

"Why are you hiding?"

"I don't know you."

"I won't hurt you, why don't you come out little one."

Kay tilts her head, thinking to herself 'That is what the wolf called me.'

Donavan smiles. "So you have figured out something haven't you little one?"

"You are the wolf I saw last night."

"Yes."

Shifting on the branch, getting back up on her feet. Then jumping down off the branch landing in a crouch on the ground.

Donavon stares in shock. 'She moves with such grace, I don't think she is human.'

"Why would you say that?"

Swimming closer to the edge of the pool, Donavon watches her. "The way you move is more then human little one, you move like a Were. I can't scent the animal in you. The only way i would know what you are is if you graced me with that right."

"I don't think so. I know what I am; you will just have to wait to see that for yourself later."

"Come little one, swim with me?"

"No I won't get that close to you. I could tell even last night you wanted something from me."

"Yes I did little one, both sides of me want you. You are my mate I can smell it."

"You will have to wait for that as well." Kay takes a single step back from the pool, before turning and taking of running.

Donavon jumps out of the pool and takes off after her. "Didn't anyone teach you that you don't run from a wolf."

Kay shifts quickly around the trees in her path, followed by Donavon. He is catching up to her slowly getting closer to her.

Roaring softly in the back of her throat, Kay dodges yet another tree the jumps at a tree trunk using it to send her flying into the branches above her. Jumping and twisting she takes off in the branches, moving quickly from tree to tree. Staying just far enough in front of him that he does not lose her scent.

Donavon howls out when her trail seems to change, he lifts his head. Her scent had moved up into the trees no longer on the ground. "I will find you little one and this time you won't stop me from claiming what is mine."

"You have to catch me first." Comes her voice from high in the trees. Jumping to the branch a little in front of her Kay suddenly feels a hand on her shoulder.

"Don't you think you have slept long enough?"

"OH, Mom it was just getting good."

"You still see him in your dreams?"

"Yeah, I got to see his wolf form last night. Why is this so hard I want to be there with him?"

"It is the mating call my darling daughter. It will get stronger."

"I am having trouble dealing with it already and I just found out I am Were."

"Think how hard it must be for him?"

"It makes me wonder if he is taking it as hard as I am. I know that when I run into him in there he just wants to get close to me. I think I should talk to Lupina about it, what do you think Mom?"

"I think that would be a good idea Kayleagha."

Kayleagha gets up from the bed and follows Susan back down the stairs. "So what is for supper tonight Mom?"

"I was thinking of making steaks and maybe baked potatoes, getting your father to fire up the grill later."

"Oh that sounds yummy Mom."

"Why don't you go for a run before supper Sweetie?"

"That would be fun I think. Maybe I could explore the area around here more. I don't think I will be gone to long but if I am you can always get Lup to call me on the internal connection I seem to have with her."

"Ok sweetie have fun."

Kayleagha takes off out the back door and sets off into a run as soon as she hits the tree line. She runs quickly past the clearing where Lupina and her were training earlier that day and just keeps going. Kay picks up speed, pushing herself to her top speed, side stepping around trees and bushes till she breaks through into an area she has never seen before, calling on her better then normal sense of smell, scenting the air to see if anything or anyone is around her. Seeming that there are only several small animals around her she takes a better look around the area. There is a small pool that is fed by a stream. 

Feeling completely at peace she moves sits down beside the small pool and takes off her shoes. Kayleagha drops her feet into the water and lays back to look up at the sky. Laying there for just a short time she figures it is time to make it back soon. 

Looking up at the sky again she asks to no one not really expecting an answer "Will this get any easier? I feel like I am about to do something that will Damn me in someway no matter what the outcome. How am I suppose to mate with a man who, it is his duty to kill me off?"

A soft voice answers in her head 'I know that it is hard dear one, but everything will become clear as it gets closer to meeting him in person.'

"Oh is that you Luna?"

'Yes my little Tiger it is, you are at a disadvantage you don't have your mother to help teach you everything, or other tigers in which you can speak to about it all. Your Race is one that was helped in most things, not only were they stronger then most other Were's. That is just how it worked out considering your genetics, how could it not be.'

"I have been told a bit about where we came from can you finally explain to me how the white tigers came to be?"

'Well that is easy little Tiger; I fell in love with my first creation Luner. He was the first Were wolf. We mated and had a single child that was the first Were tiger, Lunara.'

"Oh that makes sense, but what I don't get is why all the white tigers were female?"

'Since her father was a wolf it made sense to me that I tied the genetic strain for the white tiger on the female side of the genetics. Seeing that I had a daughter all her daughters would follow after her.'

"Now that makes sense, why does the council fear us?"

'That would be because the white tigers were as strong as most male Were's. In the Were genetics the female is smaller, and contained less strength but that was because all of my original Were creations were male and they found and turned there mates who were human. That put the smaller listing in the Were genetics for all other Were's. Only the white tiger had the dominate female gene.'

"Thank you Luna for explaining that to me I think I better get back now supper must be ready by now."

'You are most welcome my little Tiger'

Kayleagha gets back up and pulls her feet out of the pool. Then pulls her socks back onto her wet feet, before putting her shoes back on and running back home at a slower pace then she got there. Getting back to the cabin just in time for supper to be placed on the table.

They have a quiet meal before going outside to the front porch to watch the moon rise.

"Lup, how do you think your brother is taking this mating pull thing?"

"Knowing him he is most likely driving everyone around him nuts. Donavon is an aggressive guy to begin with but this has got to be driving him crazy. Have you let him get close enough to do anything in the dreams you guys are sharing yet?"

"Not a chance he scares me. He seems so dominating and I have never been attracted to that. The one guy that I dated in my life was more of a sensitive guy. I get the feeling that Donavon would pin be down and have his way with me if I gave him half a chance."

"I am sure that you are right about that one, that really does sound like something that he would do."

Kayleagha looks at Lupina. Thinking silently to her 'Lup can you hear me like this?'

'Of course I can Kay.'

'Well I wanted to ask you something without my parents knowing.'

'Ok Kay ask away.'

'How do you think Donavon is going to react to me being a virgin?'

'Wow I never guessed that one. I think you are going to have to let him get close in those mating dreams that is knowledge that he is going to need to know before he meets you so he does not hurt you.'

'You think that is wise? Don't you think he will be offended by it?'

'No I think he will be honored with that fact, he will be the only man to ever touch you and I know that his wolf will be overjoyed.'

'Ok then tonight I will spring that fact on him.'

"Mom I think I am going to go lay down now I am tired from my run earlier. Oh I forgot to tell you, Luna explained some about how my race of Were's came into being while I was gone."

"That is great sweetie at least you know that now."

"Night everyone."

Kay gets up off the porch and heads up stairs, has a quick shower before climbing back into bed after she sets her alarm.

**************** Looking around Kay sees that she is back at the pool she found him swimming in earlier. Scenting the air and closing her eyes she feels that she is alone. Quickly she strips out of her clothing and jumps into the cool water of the pool.

Swims over the surface of the pool in slow long strokes she makes her way to where the waterfall hits the water's surface then dives down to see the bottom. When she resurfaces, she smiles to herself and swims under the falls to where a rock sits behind. Climbing out of the water and sits down on the rock that is like a seat part way submerged. Then lays her head back and waits for her dream man to get to her.

Singing softly to herself Kayleagha shifts the water around with her hands, when she catches the scent of Sage and Mint. Thinking to herself 'I wander is that is his scent?'

'Who else's scent would it be little one since we are the only ones here?'

'Well I did not know you were here yet.'

'I am. Where are you hiding little one I cant scent you?'

'At the waterfall, but you will have to find out just where I am at after you get here.'

'I take that challenge.'

Moments later Kay hears the sound of water splashing. Trying to peer through the water in front of her, she sees only shadows.

Kayleagha gets splashed as Donavon surfaces not far in front of her. Causing her to gasp in shock.

"Oh that is where you have been hiding little one."

"Enough of the little one please I do have a name."

"Then little one grace me with the knowledge of that name?"

"My name is Kayleagha, but most everyone just calls me Kay. I already know you are Donavon."

"Oh you are a smart one Kay, what else do you know about me?" He treads water watching her face.

"You are the Master Alpha. You have a sister named Lupina."

"Oh you seem to be at an advantage Kay I don't know anything about you."

"Well what do you want to know I will give you a little information?"

"I now know your name; I take it you are not very young, from your appearance I would think you are in your early twenties."

"You are right I turned twenty one a couple of days ago, actually on the first day we connected." Kay tries to suppress a giggle.

"Oh that is good that means you are old enough to take as a mate, which is what I intend on doing the minute I find you."

"What do you mean find me?"

"Well I have sent some trackers out to find you. They don't have much to go on other then your appearance and the scent I get of you."

"Oh why did you go and do that for? I was planning on coming to you when I was finally ready."

"Now that is a shock, I did not think that you liked me to much Kay?"

"Why did you think that?"

"Because every time I see you here you run from me."

"I am not really running from you I am making you work to have me. You come on a little strong Donavon."

"Oh please call me Don I don't really like my full name."

"Oh, ok. You can come sit with me, but you have to promise not to touch, yet."

Don swims over and climbs up beside her on the rock. All the sensitive areas still hidden under the water.

Kay blushes and shifts a little further away from him.

"There you go again moving away from me."

"How do you expect a virgin to react to having a naked man beside her that she is attracted to?"

"Oh that does explain a lot." Don's wolf murrs contentedly.

"Why are you shocked to hear that?"

"Not shocked my beautiful mate to be, Very happily pleased by the fact that I will be your first and only." Don reaches out his hand and touches her cheek.

Kay shivers slightly when he touches her. Then blushes darker.

"Would you let me kiss you Kay?"

"I would like that."

Kay nibbles on her lower lip as she turns to look into his eyes.

Don leans a little closer as he glances down at her lips. Pressing his lips gently against hers giving her a chaste kiss. Kay moans ever so softly, her lips parting under his which causes him to press just the tip of his tongue into her mouth, getting the first true taste of her mouth.

Growling softly in the back of his throat he deeps the kiss more, he tongue brushing seductively against her, circling it drawing it into his own mouth.

This continues for a few minutes before pulling back both gasping for air.

"Oh Luna that was wonderful, I never knew a kiss could be like that."

"You taste divine my darling Kay."

Kay blushes and attempts to hide her face.

"Why hide your beauty from me, you look so beautifully innocent when you blush. It makes me want you all the more. I can't wait to taste all you have to offer." 

"You sure know how to make a woman feel like she is beautiful."

"Oh Kay you are, I never thought that I would ever find a woman as beautiful as you to be my mate."

Kay giggles softly. "Don being the Were that you are, I would think that you would have hundreds of women more beautiful then me trying to get your attention."

"None of them even hold a candle to you my beauty. They only wanted me for the power that being my mate would give them."




The Last of the White Tigers Ch. 04



"What kind of power would that be?"

"Being the Master Alpha Bitch of all the Were's, Ruling over all female Were's."

"That is not what I want. I would rather not even have to deal with other Were's at all. I am not really comfortable around them."

"Why is that little one? Since you are most definitely Were."

"Well I just don't like dealing with the macho attitude that most male Were's seem to live by. I find them over bearing and annoying."

"You are a strange little Were, my Kay. An Alpha bitch if ever I met one."

"I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or not."

"It was a compliment Kay. You handle yourself with the bearing of an Alpha and if you were not my mate I could see you as the Alpha of a high ranking pack or pride. Since I don't know what kind of Were you are yet."

"I am not about to let you in on that fact just yet."

"Oh why not, little one?"

"I don't think that you are ready for that fact as of yet."

"Well I will let you keep your secrets for now Kay but only if you give me a kiss."

Kay licks her lips. Leans in and brushes her lips over Don's. Causing Don to slide his hand behind her neck pulling her closer and deepening the kiss. Tracing his tongue over the seam of her lips till she parts them letting his tongue into her mouth. Moaning softly Kay shifts even closer toward Don. Sliding his hand from her neck down her sides, his fingers barely brushing against the sides of her breasts then down to her hips, before pulling her over into his lap.

Kay pulls her head back, gasping softly. "If we continue this we will be doing something I may regret when I wake up."

"There would be no reason to regret us getting to know each others bodies my beauty."

"But there would be, Don I am not ready for that yet."

"You taste so wonderful Kay, I can't help myself. I just want to taste all of you, but I will respect that you need time."

"Thank you Don. I think that I have been here long enough. My alarm will be going off soon and there is a lot I need to do tomorrow."

"What are you actually doing little one?"

"I am in training."

"Why do you need to train?"

"Everyone needs to be able to protect themselves and up until a little while ago I was not really good at it. I am getting better. My teacher thinks that I will be able to handle just about any situation soon."

"I hope that you have a good teacher?"

"Yes one of the best and she is bringing in another to teach me more."

"Good, I want you in prime form for when I finally get to claim you my beauty."

Kay opens her eyes just as her alarm goes off, smiling. Jumps out of bed and quickly gets dressed heading down stairs in no time.

Roger looks up from making coffee. "Wow you look like you are in a good mood this morning Kay?"

"Oh Dad he kissed me last night."

"From the smile on your face I think that you really enjoyed that?"

"Yes I did Dad." Kay blushes darkly.

"So what do you and Lup have planned for today?"

"We are going to get started on offensive moves today."

"You better eat then, so you can get started."

The day went much the same as the last, first Kay and Lup did some racing. Then they went over the defensive moves. 

Lup introduced Kay to several offensive styles based on Kay's speed and agility that worked mostly with speed and grace attacks. Taking moves from kungfu and several other styles they work for most of the day, taking only a short break for lunch then again for supper. By the end of the day Kay falls back into bed completely exhausted.

Sore and stiff Kay appears in her dream forest. Not wanting to do anything she just lays down in the meadow trying not to move.

Sitting not far from where she is laying is the wolf side of her mate.

'You look tired little one?'

'I am so sore I don't think I can move.'

'You trained hard today didn't you?'

'Yeah my teacher is a real hard ass bitch when she wants to be.'

'Why don't you just sleep then little one I will protect you.'

Yawning Kay snuggle against the ground trying to get more comfortable. The large black wolf moves closer to her laying against her side.

Kay shifts closer to him and drifts off into a dreamless sleep.

The next morning Kay drags herself out of bed, stumbling down the stairs then sitting down in a chair beside the kitchen table.

"Damn I am so sore still."

"Suck it up Kay you still have a lot to learn and there is not a lot of time left to get you ready. I am sure that Donavon has his trackers out by now and it will only be a matter of time before they find this place."

"He does. I want to be ready to go after him before they get wind of where I am."

"Damn."

Roger hands Kay a small glass of a grey liquid. "Here Sweetie drink this it will make you feel better."

Kay takes the glass and quickly drinks it back. "Damn that stuff tastes horrid why cant you ever make it taste better."

"At least it works that is what matters. You just have to deal with the bad taste."

"You are right Dad. Lets get started Lup."

Lup just shakes her head and both women head out the back door to the clearing.

"Let's start with some of the simple moves."

Lupina rushes at Kayleagha causing her to drop down to one knee, sweeping the other foot out. Lupina jumps up avoiding the leg as it sweeps under her.

"Very good."

Kayleagha roars out in frustration. Pulling her leg back to her and jumps up into a crouch. Unnoticed to even herself, Kay's claws lengthen, her green eyes slit just slightly till they are cat's eyes. Gripping the ground with her feet she springs up and pounces on Lupina then next time she gets close.

Lupina lets out a scream as Kayleagha catches her and slams her down on the ground. She looks up into Kay's eyes and sees her Tiger fighting for possession of her. "Kay stop."

Kay roars softly in the back of her throat, her claws digging slightly into Lupina's chest.

Suddenly a large grey wolf slams into Kay's side sending her rolling off of Lupina. Kay Roars at the wolf as it places it's self between her and Lupina. Growling loudly, amber eyes watching her.

Kay throws her head back and roars out loudly. Her body contorts, shifting, bones shorten. Joints pop loudly as she drops down completely. Fur sprouts over her body, her clothing falling in tatters around her. Kay's head drops, teeth lengthen and her face flattens just slightly. Claws digging into the ground below her as she picks up her head glaring at the wolf before her.

Where the girl once laid a creature of legend stands, one of the most beautiful white tigers the wolf had ever seen. So much like her mother, thou her strips are thicker and the black is a shade darker. 

Roaring out her anger, she pounces at the wolf. Catching him completely off guard, before he can even move. Her front paws slam into his shoulders causing him to fall onto his back. She stands on him pinning his shoulders to the ground with her paws and she snaps at his neck.

He whimpers just slightly. 'It is a pity your mother never got to see how powerful you would become my daughter.'

Kay shakes her head in confusion.

Using the distraction he brings his back legs up and slams both paws into her underbelly sending her flying.

Kay twists in midair and lands back on her paws facing him. 'Who are you?'

'Simple, I am your father.'

'How is that possible? My biological parents are dead.'

'Wrong, your mother is dead. I felt her die through our bond but I knew that you were born so I lived on to find you one day. I never knew that I had a daughter but I knew I had a child out there somewhere.'

'You lie.' Kay roars at the wolf again.

The wolf jumps at her, catching her off guard again. Slamming into her hard, sending her sprawling. Quickly moving in and snapping his jaw around her neck. 'Give.'

'Never.'

He clamps down a little harder his canines breaking the skin, a small amount of blood pools around his teeth. 'Give. You want to deny that I am your father, I don't think you can. Submit Cat you know I can kill you.'

Kay slashes out with her claws catching racking them down his underbelly. 

He releases her neck and backs off. Falling to the ground he shimmers slightly as he shifts back to his human form. The audible popping sounds out as the last of his joints give way. Laying there clenching at the jagged scratches on his chest. Gasping for air. "So this is your curse Luna, meeting my daughter only to have her kill me."

A booming voice sounds in Kay's head 'SHIFT.'

A roar of pain slips from Kay's lips as she drops down on her belly, her body shifting violently. Screams of pure pain are ripped from her throat as she lays there in her human form.

Lupina moves quickly to the man laying on the grass. Grabbing the tatters of fabric that lay on the ground and puts instant pressure on the wounds on his chest. "How could you Kay?"

Kay convulses on the ground, her body not settling. 

Susan and Roger rush to her side. "KAYLEAGHA."

A shimmer of light surrounds Kay, her eyes roll back into her head.

Shaking out her long red curls, sighing softly and rubbing at her lower back. "Grason my love, it won't be much longer. Our cub is getting restless. I think before the end of the week will finally get to met it."

Smiling up at her, looking into her crystal blue eyes with his shockingly green ones. "Oh Millancent, I can't wait." Placing his hand over her belly.

His head jerks to the side scenting the air, his shoulder length chestnut brown hair shifts onto her belly. "Shit Millie we need to get out of here, they have found us again."

Struggling to get up as quickly as possible Millancent reaches out and places her hands on his chest.

"Get out of here Millie I will distract them."

"No Grason, I don't want to leave you."

"Millie go, save our cub."

Tears stream down her face as she races out the back door to where they hid the truck. Climbing into the driver's seat, struggling to get her distended belly behind the steering wheel. "I love you Grason."

Kay convulses more violently as the light fades around her. Gasping for air, tears of pain trail down her cheeks. Shaking as she lifts her head to look over at the man, his chestnut hair pooling on the grass below his head. Kay cries even harder. "Luna no."

Her body shakes as she cries out. "Why?"

Susan and Roger reach out and help Kay up slightly.

Kay presses her face into her mother's neck, her cries echoing out. "Oh please Luna, don't let my father die. Daddy save him."

Roger shifts from Kay's side and moves over to look at Grason. "Bev bring the first aid kit quick." Dropping to his knees beside Grason he shifts Lupina's hands over to take a look at the scratches. "She got you good man."

"No shit."

"They look bad, but you are already starting to heal. Let's see what we can do to help that along."

Bev drops the first aid kit at Roger's side, gasping in horror at the scene before her. Lupina as claw marks almost healed in her chest, her shirt ripped slightly and blood stains. There is a naked man laying at her and Roger's side on the grass with long scratches on his chest. Several feet away Susan is holding a now naked Kay, crying and shaking.

Roger looks up at Bev. "Go grab the bottles of grey liquid in the fridge, NOW."

Bev turns and running back into the cabin. Returning minutes later with two bottles. Holds out both bottles with shaking hands.

Roger takes one in each hand. Pushes the first bottle at Lupina. "Drink it."

Uncapping the second he helps Grason sit up slightly and puts it to his lips. Grason drinks a little and coughs. Roger lowers him back down. He takes the tatters of fabric that Lupina and used to stop the bleeding off of Grason's chest and takes a good look. Opening the first aid kit he pulls out a bottle of alcohol and some gaze. Pouring the alcohol onto the scratches and then presses the gaze against it. 

"Fuck. Why the hell did you do that?"

"They needed to be cleaned out."

Grason shifts just slightly, then his body starts to tingle as the skin on his chest starts to knit back together. In a matter of minutes only a pink line shows where the scratches once were.

"I don't know what that was you gave me to drink but wow I have never healed so quickly."

"Oh that was just something that Susan and Bev's family came up with to help with minor wounds, to keep us from having to take the girls that we were chosen to protect to the hospital every time they got hurt."

"You raised my little girl?"

"It was an honor to be chosen to protect her."

"I can see that she grew up well. I am just saddened by the fact that me and Millie never got to raise her."

"It was a tragedy that she never got to know you man, but I did my best to be a good father to her."

Kay pulls her head back and looks over at her Dad. "Daddy?"

"Yes Kay."

"Is he going to be ok?"

"Yes sweetie he is going to be fine."

"I am sorry."

"I don't blame you, you reacted just like any other Were would in that situation. You took your opponent out in the only means you could think of. I miss judged your ingenuity. You are smart and strong that will be an advantage to you if you ever came up against any member of the council."

"That is good to hear considering."

"Why do you say that? Oh what did they call you Kayleagha?"

"You can call me Kay everyone else does. But I don't know what to call you?"

"You can call me what ever you want, but you never answered my question Kay."

"Well I had my mating dream um Dad."

"I figured that one, all the white tigers get that even thou Luna has cursed the rest of the Were's not to be able to find there true mate unless they were in the same area as them."

"Um, well, my mate is Donavon."

"What."

"You know Donavon the Master Alpha."

"I knew who you are talking about. How can that be, Luna has a strange sense of humor, giving my only child the last white tiger to the Master Alpha as a mate."

"He does not know I am a white tiger yet."

"What do you mean he does not know yet?"

"Well he is going to have to know eventually, now wont he?"



The Last of the White Tigers Ch. 05



Donovan wakes up growling. 'Who is this girl I am dreaming about? Luna she smells so good.'

Stretching and laying there on his pillow he watches the sun stream throw the curtain. The phone beside the bed starts to ring and he reaches for it. 

"This is Donavon. I will be down shortly."

Hanging the phone up and jumping out of bed to head into the bathroom to shower.

Walking back into his bedroom he quickly dresses before heading out the door and down the stairs to where his office is located.

"Good morning Master Alpha, Sir. Would you like to have something sent up from the kitchens, to go with your coffee?"

"That is fine Monica. I think just coffee this morning I will be getting something when I go out for my breakfast meeting with Derek, the Tiger Alpha."

"Yes Sir. Your breakfast meeting is in about forty five minutes. I put the all the requests on your desk take a look at them at your leisure Sir."

"That is everything Monica. Oh yeah, Monica can you find out the whereabouts of my sister Lupina?"

"Yes Sir I will have that information ready for you when you get back from your meeting Sir."

Donavon sits down at his desk and starts looking through the pile of request. Listings of everything from merger mating's to combine packs to social engagements that he is requested to attend.

Plus a list of all the high ranking females sent up to him by the elders in hopes of getting him to finally settle down and mate.

Monica quietly comes into his office and places his coffee on the left hand side of his desk. Then leaves just as quietly.

Donavon picks up the phone and punches a few numbers. 

"This is Richard, what can I do for you Master Alpha?"

"I want all writings regarding the mating dream that we still have in the achieves."

"Why Master Alpha? The last recorded mating dream was almost four hundred years ago."

"I am not sure but I think that I have had one, I just need to confirm my suspicions."

"I will have it there for you sometime this afternoon."

Donavon hangs up the phone, picks up his coffee and starts to drink as he continues to read the requests.

Minutes later the phone rings again, Donavon picks up the phone. "Yes."

"The car is waiting for you downstairs Sir."

"I am on my way."

Donavon hangs up the phone, and then heads out of the office. He heads down stairs and outside to the car. Where Christo and Albert his personal Bata's are waiting for him. 

"So where are we going today Don?"

"I have a breakfast meeting with Derek this morning, at the Haunting. We are going to discuss his upcoming mating with Lisa from the Asia Tiger pride."

"Oh I can't wait to see that one, those two will kill each other in a matter of months."

Albert holds open the back door, Donavon gets in and settles himself in the back as Albert takes the drives seat and Christo gets in the passenger side. Donavon leans his head back and smiles to himself calling up the image of the girl from his dreams. Breathing in he can almost smell her in the confined space of the car.

"You seem to be in a really good mood today Don, what has it been since we last saw you smile like that?"

"I bet he was with a new bitch last night."

"You are wrong, Christo. I just had a dream about the woman I am so wanting to mate she is perfect. Beautiful red hair and eyes so green you could drown in them"

"Wow Don has it bad. I can't wait to meet this girl."

"Where did you see her Don?"

"I have never met her, just seen her in my dreams. I want you guys to get the trackers in my office later this afternoon."

"It has been along time since the trackers went after a woman."

"Don't you think I know that?"

"Sorry Don, we will have them there promptly at three pm. That should give you enough time to get everything done for today."

"Good."

The car pulls up in front of a large restaurant, and the valet opens the door for Donavon.

Getting out and waits for the others, Donavon contemplates what his next move is going to be. He has boring meetings to deal with all day.

The meeting with Derek goes well; they discuss how the brides family will be meet at the airport. Things like placing, how many alphas will be present. Which elder is going to preform the ceremony? Little facts that the boring details that must be handled by the Master Alpha for a merger of two prides. 

The breakfast was basic by Were standards, a lot of meat, plus all the extras.

Donavon thanks Derek for his hospitality before heading back to his office.

The trip home is quiet, giving Donavon a lot of time to remember the details of his dream.

Once back in his office his phone rings. "Yes"

"Richard has sent up the information that you requested Sir. I have it out here would you like it?"

"Yes Monica bring it in."

Monica opens the door and pushes in a cart loaded with books and scrolls.

"Monica cancel all my meetings this afternoon. I don't want to be disturbed. Get the kitchen to send something up for lunch and dinner. Then take the rest of the day off. Get the ladies down stairs to handle all my calls. I want to be unreachable."

"Yes Sir."

Closing the door behind her, Monica quickly arranges every detail for Donavon before taking off for the day.

Donavon grabs the first book and sits down on his couch to read.

When the goddess Luna sets a mating, she consults the stars and the two she wishes to see mated. After much study, watching them from the time of there birth, she sends them the mating dream on the girls twenty first birthday.

The dream takes place in the ancient forest that she calls home. The two met for the first time, the male gets her unique sent. The girl gets her first vision of her mate's animal. They will meet there till the time when they can finally be together.

She will only show her animal once she is confortable. The female is in the most control of the dreams as the goddess Luna sees the female as the one to carry on the Were's not the male.

The female may reject the mating dream, though it is not likely to happen because the male is her perfect match.

Closing that book and placing it on the coffee table.

"Well that was little help."

Picking up the second book, he opens it and starts reading.

On the day of my twenty first birthday I dreamed of him for the first time. I went to sleep like I always do, only to wake in a clearing in an ancient forest. A large grey wolf bursts through the bushes that surround it and comes to sit in front of me. 

By Luna I am shocked by his size, though I don't show him any fear. He moves closer to me and presses his muzzle against my neck getting my scent. 

I stroke his neck. 

Then I wake, only to return to him every time I sleep. This progresses for months till I am driven by need to find him.

Donavon thinks to himself, 'So it was a mating dream. But why would Luna choose this time to send it after she had been silent for hundreds of years? Maybe she has finally seen that the white tigers were to strong to have been allowed to live.'

There is a soft knock at the door and it is opened, a dinning cart is pushed in and left just inside the door.

Donavon gets up and gets the cart, pulling it over to the couch and continues reading while he eats.

After he finishes eating he pushes the cart away then sets to reading a story.

The mating dream was sent, they meet in dreams for months. Then suddenly the girl appears before him. The elders interfere, saying the mating is not approved. These two families can not mix. The male loses control and shifts.

The elders drag the girl off, he tries to follow but others get in his way. She is imprisoned in a cell, with reinforced doors. 

He goes wild, his animal takes hold and he loses himself. Killing anything that moves in front of him. The male goes completely Rogue, so they kill him to protect the world. 

The elders return to the cell to find the girl has suffered the same fate. She is covered in the same slashes as he is.

It is then that they realises that once the mating dream has been sent by Luna, no one may change there fate. With out accepting it both shall die.

Suddenly he lays his head back and is quickly drawn into the forest. The encounter continues until she disappears from there again.

He wakes up growling, Luna why does she have to disappear every time he is getting close to her?

'Damn I keep forgetting to ask her name.' he thinks to himself.

A knock sounds on the door.

"Yes."

Three men walk into the room. Donavon looks up as the trackers approach him. "You sent for us Sir."

'I am glad that Christo and Albert sent the best trackers we have.' Donavon thinks to himself. He gets up from the couch and makes his way over to his desk, sits himself down and waits.

"Gentleman, take a seat."

The three seat themselves in the chairs in front of his desk, trying to seem casual.

"The reason I have sent for you is I have an important mission that only the three of you can achieve. Hunter, Forest, Geren you are the best at what you do. I need you to find someone for me?"

"Who is this person, Sir?"

"You are going to be finding my mate."

"Oh and why do we have to find her for you, Sir? Since you know who she is why don't you just go claim her?"

"It is not that simple for me Hunter. I have had the mating dream."

"But that is impossible, Sir. No Were has been gifted with the mating dream in over four hundred years."

"It seems that Luna has changed her mind on that fact and seeing as I am the Master Alpha, does it not seem right that I am the first to get the mating dream back?"

"Yes Sir."

"Now I don't have much for you three to go on other then her appearance, her general age and the scent I get from her."

"We have tracked someone on less."

"Do you happen to know general area, Sir?"

"From the way she speaks I think she is here in the United states but still I am unsure of that, but it gives you a start point."

"Yes Sir."

"Tell us what you know?"

"She is close to twenty one years old. She is average height, for a human. Though on the small side for a Were. I am sure that she is Were but I am not even sure what kind of Were she is. Her hair is long and red. With the most amazing green eyes I have ever seen. I think I have seen eyes similar to hers somewhere but I can't seem to be able to place them."

"Anything else, Sir?"

"I don't think she is in Were territory, from the first time I met her I got the distinct impression that she was human. But she spoke in the way of a Were without thinking, and said that she had spoken to Luna. She claimed to be taken already."

"Oh, now that is interesting."

"Then there is her scent, she smells like vanilla and honey. It was the most intriguing combination of scents I have ever come across."

"I would say Sir; it has sure had an effect on you. If I may say so?"

"It was only when I met up with her again in the mating dreams that we are sharing that she seemed more Were."

"How so, Sir?''

"Well that is simple; she tried to stay hidden from me in the branches of a tree. When she jumped down she had the grace of a cat."

"We will check with all the prides first then, just to see if there are any who fit your description in there ranks."

"That is a good idea."

"Thank you Sir."

"Red heads among most of the feline races are rare Sir, so it should not be hard to track her if she is from one of the prides."

"That is true. If I find out anymore information for you gentlemen I will contact you directly Hunter. Always keep your cell charged and on."

"Yes Sir. If that is everything we will head out and start our search. Derek is the first pride we will be investigating."

"I really don't think she is here in the city but it is better to cover all possibilities. Even if she is not there they might have an idea what pride do have red heads in them."

The three men get up from there chairs. "We will report to you as soon as we have found something Sir."

"Good bye gentlemen and good hunting."

The three leave and Donavon gets up. He heads back over to the couch, looking over at the cart seeing that he has finished all the books. He grabs the first scroll and settles back down on the couch.

Then he starts reading the scrolls that were sent up to him. Unrolling the first he reads.

The first mating dream recorded was for Luna herself, she was mated to a human. He was bitten by her but instead of changing into a white tiger like she was, he turned into a wolf. When they mated they had three daughters. Who mated into the wolf lines, each daughter born after that was a white tiger.

The sons how ever carried the line but none of there female offspring ended up as white tigers.

Donavon wonders to himself 'Why have there never been any male white tigers. The males carry the genetics.'

Rolling up the scroll and placing it on the coffee table he gets up and stretches, checking to see what time it was. He had been reading for hours now. A soft knock sounds at the door just before it opens, a new cart is wheeled in then the young omega takes the old cart pushing it out and closing the door behind her.

Donavon gets the cart and pushes it over to the couch. 'I will eat then read the last three scrolls. Then I am heading to bed.'

Pulling the lids off what was sent up to him for supper he starts to eat mulling over all the facts that he has learned so far. Still he wonders who this beautiful young woman is who has in no better terms declared herself as his mate. He now knows that she is twenty one years old, cause of the things he has read. The mating dream only comes when the female gets to her twenty first birthday.

Quickly he finished eating, pushed the cart out of his way and picks up the third scroll and opens it.

The mating dream was sent as a form of compensation for letting her true mate go. Luna loved Luner so deeply that letting him go changed her. She used her daughter whom she loved dearly, to help keep a connection with her truest mate. Luner went to a village of great warriors, the Vikings. He passed the blessing of the wolf onto all the warriors who in turn passed it onto every woman that they mated with after that. They traveled, plundering and spreading the gift of the wolf across the world as they passed.

To restore some balance Luna sent Lunara out to speak to her father. Luner was so indulged in his own loss of his mate that he did not see what his children were doing.

She got her father to open his eyes to the actions of his children. She in turn forced her mother back into the picture. Bringing her to her father again, it was their second meeting that started the mating dreams. Lunara herself acted as the mating dream for them. The result of their second meeting was a son who Luna named Fenris. She handed him over to his father to teach and raise once he was seven years old.

Lunara was close to her brother in his younger days and visited him often after he went to live with their father. When Fenris came of age, he became the first true Alpha to the wolves. His mate bared him only male offspring.

Donavon stares in shock at the scroll. His bloodline leads directly back to Fenris. Then he looks at the bottom of the scroll and sees that it was actually written by Lunara herself.

'Why would they have a scroll written by Lunara in there archives?' he asks himself.

Putting that scroll down and picking up the next.

Donavon skims over what is written, basically a rehash of what he has already read.

Picking up the last scroll he notices a seal on this one. The seal is not broken, so he will be the first to ever read this information. He tries to break the seal with his nail and nothing happens other then his nail breaking. The broken part slips down and slices into his finger just slightly causing a single drop of blood to fall onto the seal. It glows and falls from the scroll.

Donavon slowly unrolls the scroll then begins to read.

Child of my blood, there are many important things in life that I wish I could teach to you, but that is not the way of things. I will try and teach you what I think are the most important things. They seem so simple when you realize them, but you can easily overlook them because of that simplicity. There is nothing greater than the love a true mate shares with their own true mate; of this I have no doubt from my own experiences. The call to that one true mate can overwhelm you if you let it, if you resist it. There is nothing like the pain of being separated from the one that you are meant to mate, it will harm you in ways nothing you thought ever could.

Be not afraid of what you are drawn to, the greatest strength of our kind is our love for each other. Don't let some foolish nonsense keep you from your mate, only you know your heart fully, trust it and not what the mind sees, or what has been dictated to you by others in their fear and ignorance. Personally I always thought younglings that are ready to mate should meet in human form while blindfolded and seek their true mate that way, so that foolishness based on appearances can be avoided. All Weres are of one mother, regardless of the form they take. The strongest of our kind will be born of those whose lines are mixed across the kinds of our people, and do not let fear cloud your judgment solely based on what animal someone has as their natural form.

Do not make the same mistake that I once did in my pain and grief of being separated from my mate. All of our children are important, do not let any take away our future by making some of lesser value than others in our own fear. They need us to guide them with our example.

Donavon glances down at the bottom of the scroll and sees the name written so distinctly. "Oh Luna this was written by Luner."

Holding the scroll in hand he gets up in shocked disbelief. Without thought he leaves his office and heads upstairs to his suite. In a daze he quickly undresses and climbs into bed after placing that very scroll on his nightstand, closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep instantly.

Donavon is transported back into the forest. He knows that she is here somewhere so he starts his search. Running quickly through the forest in no general direction when he catches the sound in his head 'I wander if that is his scent?'

After finding her behind the waterfall, his wolf almost demands he take her. She is naked; he wants to claim her now before she is lost to him again. Forcing back his wolf he tries to charm her in his human self.

Upon finding out that his mate is yet untouched pleases his wolf greatly. He concedes to his human side, knowing that he would be too forceful for her at this time.

When she finally leaves him there he leans back against the rock and sighs. "Luna you are evil giving her to me for such a short time. I hardly got the taste I actually wanted."

A soft feminine voice sounds in his head 'Your kind hardly deserves even as much as she has given you.'

"Luna?"

'Who else do you think it is oh high and mighty Master Alpha?'

"Why have you been so silent with us Luna, we did what needed to be done."

'Destroying all of my daughter's descendants needed to be done? How could your kind be so cruel? Yes they were powerful but so is your line. I can't hate you, which would mean that I hated my own son, but I don't agree with what was done.'

"They would have sent all that we worked to achieve into chaos. Power like that was too hard for the Alpha's to accept back then. They were female and in that time period women were not suppose to be strong, or powerful. Times have changed and so have we."




The Last of the White Tigers Ch. 05



'Your kind is getting closer to the truth of the matter.'

"Luna, why now have you returned to us?"

'The time is right.'

Donavon shoots up in bed. Grabbing his head and looking around. "Did I speak to Luna? I must have."

Getting out of bed he quickly gets ready for the day. Heads down to his office and picks up the phone. Punching in the number to Hunter's cell then waits for him to pick up.

"Hunter speaking."

"Good, Hunter I have more information on her. Her name is Kayleagha."

"Thank you Sir that will make this a lot easier, there can't be many women out there with that name."

Donavon hangs up the phone and picks it back up dialing the number to the tech guys from his own office.

"Yes Sir Richard speaking."

"Richard I want a nation wide search done on the name Kayleagha, her date of birth was twenty one years ago three days past."

"Yes Sir."

"It is the highest priority; I want the results as soon as you have them."

"I will put my whole department on it Sir we should have something before the end of the day."

Hanging up the phone again Donavon gets up from his chair and starts to pace the room.

There is a soft knock on the door.

"What?"

"Is there anything you need today Sir?"

"No Monica, cancel everything. I just want to be left alone."

Donavon moves back to his chair, sits down and leans back, closing his eyes. Replays the kiss that he shared with Kayleagha in the dream. He groans and gets back up from his chair, starting to pace again.

He picks up the soft sound of Monica talking to someone on the other side of the door.

"No, there is something wrong with him. He snapped at me just moments ago."

Donavon decides that he can't stay here, he needs to get out. Leaving his office, passing a shocked Monica as he heads to the elevator to take him down stairs. Screaming over his shoulder "Get my car brought around I want to go out to the pack lands. NOW."

Scrambling to pick up the phone Monica drops it a few times before she gets it set against her ear. Hitting speed dial and almost cries into the phone to have his car readied.

Donavon gets into the elevator and pushes the ground floor button, then leans back against the wall and waits.

Stepping out of the elevator when it reaches its destination he quickly heads out the front of the building to where his car is waiting, his Beta's standing outside of it.

Without even speaking he heads to the back door and before anyone can open it he does it himself. Climbing into the back seat and waits for them to leave.

His Beta's seeing how his mood is get into the car seconds after him and they start on there way out to the compound. Christo watches Donavon in the mirror, seeing him shift around in his seat. There is a scowl on his face and he seems very distant, staring out the window.

The trip does not take that long, before they are passing out of the city and just minutes later they turn off the highway. Driving for several more minutes before passing through the massive gates that mark the entrance into the packs compound.

Seeing the massive trees pass into his view Donavon's eyes shift to amber and he growls out "Stop."

Albert slams on the brakes, before either of the Beta's can react Donavon is out the back door and running as he starts tearing his clothing from his body.

They look at each other.

"By Luna Don has never acted like this before, I wonder what has gotten into him?"

"I think it must have something to do with those dreams he has been having."

"Let's go the rest of the way in, and get something to eat. I am sure that once he has run some of that aggression out of his system he will be better."

His claws shift with his need to be free of the restriction that his business cloths put on him. Ripping his shirt and pants to shreds in his need to be free to fully shift.

Once he is naked he kicks off his shoes and jumps shifting in mid air before landing on his paws, taking off into the woods of his youth. The sights and smells of this forest calms him enough to think.

'Why did Luna come to me?'

Running at his top speed, dodging trees and jumping the fallen ones. His body starts to relax even more, he only wishes that he could claim her now. Breaking through the tree line and whipping around to head back in, he almost slams into one of the younger wolves of his pack. This smaller brown wolf instantly drops, whimpering softly.

Donavon growls at the youngling who has disturbed his peace. Arching his back slightly and taking an aggressive stance. Scenting the air he learns that the wolf is female and must be very young from her reaction.

Staying close to the ground Shelby whimpers out in fear. 'Master Alpha, Sir. I meant no disrespect coming here I was just running. I am sorry that I disturbed you.'

'Go, I want to be left in peace.'

Getting up quickly Shelby turns and takes off at full speed back to the compound. Shaking in fear when she reaches her home.

Donavon growls at the retreating wolf one more time before taking off back into the forest. He runs till he is exhausted then lays down beside a small creek in a clearing. Laying his head on his paws he pants. His spine shivers when he gets a slight push on his mind. 

'Don, I just got a call from Richard in the tech department. Monica directed him to call me when he could not reach you at the office.'

'I will be right there Christo.'

Getting back up Donavon takes the most direct route back to the compound.

Breaking through the trees and into a cluster of homes he slows, padding his way over to the big house and shifts back into his human self just outside the door.

The door opens directly in front of him and his father stands there holding out a pair of sweat pants.

"Donavon Arthur Fenris Montgray I taught you to have better manners than you have shown today."

"Oh Dad don't start with me, I am on edge. Where are my Beta's?"

"They are with your mother in the kitchen."

Donavon slips on the sweats and heads into the kitchen. Don almost smiles when he sees Christo and Albert trying to sneak cookies from the jar on the counter only to get there hands smacked just like they used to when they all were much younger.

"Hi Mom."

"Oh there is my Donny, so what is this I heard from the boys. Is it true you may have found your mate?"

"Yes Mom, I was graced by Luna with the mating dream."

"Oh my. I never thought that I would live to see the day that Luna gave us any hope again. So tell me all about her Donny?"

"I will later Mom, Christo what did Richard tell you?"

"It did not make much sense really. I will get him back on the line so he can tell you directly."

Christo dials Richard back and hands his phone over to Donavon. 

"Hello tech department Richard speaking."

"Richard this is Donavon."

"Good that you got back to me promptly Sir. That name you set me to research I have only had one hit. Kayleagha Amunette Howard, born in LA on September 14, 1990. Her Race is listed as human Sir, so I don't think that is the right one. There is not much other than that on her but it states that she went to a public based school till an incident happened in 2005. This incident was at the school and concerned another student a young male were by the name of Dante Richards, I believe he is in Derek's pride. It does not go into much detail but the result was her being pulled from the public school and placed in a human only school."

"Thank you Richard I will explore this further on my own." Donavon hangs up and dials Derek's direct line.

"Derek speaking what do you want?"

"Derek this is Donavon."

"Sorry Master Alpha Sir. What can I do for you?"

"You have a young man in your pride by the name of Dante Richards?"

"Yes Donavon, he is the son of one of my Beta's."

"I want to speak with him in two hours."

"Where would you want this meeting to take place?"

"Somewhere quiet, there is something important I want to discuss with him."

"I will have him ready and waiting at the warehouse off of 39th street."

"Good see you in two hours."

Hanging up and handing the phone back to Christo, he says,

"Time to get ready, we are leaving. Love you Mom."

Donavon turns and walks out the front door to his car, climbing in the back seat and waits for his Beta's.

"I hope she gets here soon; I don't think I can handle his attitude much longer."

Christo and Albert climb in the front seat and they start back to the city.

"Don do you want to go back to the complex so you can get dressed?"

"No I will go the way I am, that way if things get out of hand I won't be in an expensive suit."

"As you wish Don."

Leaning his head back Donavon thinks about what Richard told him on the phone just minutes before. How can his mate be listed as human on her birth certificate? There had not been a Rogue listed in the past few years anywhere in the world that was not dealt with quickly. If she was born human who turned her?

Lost in his own thought Donavon does not notice the time pass until Christo interrupts his train of thought.

"Don we are here. From the look of things we are a little early."

"That is fine let's get in there and wait for them."

Everyone gets out of the car and heads into the open warehouse. There are chairs set up in the middle which they take to wait for them.

Minutes later Derek walks in with a tall blond beside him.

"So this is Dante I take it?"

"Yes Master Alpha Sir. You wished to speak to me?"

"How much do you remember about your school days Dante?"

"I remember some, why are you asking Sir?"

"There is one incident I hope that you remember. Back in 2005 you had an altercation with a young woman?"

"You must be talking about that human girl Kayleagha."

"Yes, that would be the person I am referring too. What can you tell me about her and the incident?"

"Kayleagha was a strange young woman; she never really mixed well with the others in school. From grade school we, I mean me and the other Were boys like to pick on her to get a reaction. We would pull her braid all the time."

"Can you describe her to me?"

"Sure she was a little on the pretty side, if you consider weak humans pretty. She had really long red hair, but it was her eyes that got everyone's attention. One of our teachers called them dragon green. For a human she was built, always deep into sports, but she never competed against us Were's they did not think that was fair."

Donavon nods. "Now the incident in question?"

"Well it started out like any other day; I was passing her in the hall when I caught a scent from her that excited my tiger. I could smell that she was heading into her period, but that is not what caught my attention. There was a faint scent of honey around her that day. My Tiger stood at attention at that and wanted a closer scent. He took control and I had her pinned to the lockers my nose buried against her neck in minutes. It was not just the scent of honey I got, I also smelt vanilla."

Donavon growls softly.

"It was not from anything she was wearing, that scent came directly from her. She freaked out, and pushed me sending me flying. I don't know what happened but for a second I caught the scent of Were on her then it was gone."

Donavon jumps up from his chair and dives at Dante. Donavon's hand goes around his neck and slams him down on the ground. His claws lengthen and dig into the skin on Dante's neck growling in his face "MINE."

Derek's jaw drops and with Christo and Albert's help they pull Donavon off of Dante, just as Dante slips into unconsciousness.



The Last of the White Tigers Ch. 06



I am again looking for an editor as my last one did not reply to me in over two weeks so this might have alot of errors but I am sick and tired of waiting. As I can tell most of you are as well. Chapter 7 is almost finished and I will repost this one when I get it edited

Kayleagha untangles herself from Susan's arms and gets up. Roger and Lupina help Grason up as well. They all head into the house. 

Kayleagha exhausted and sore goes up stairs to the bathroom. She runs herself a bath and climbs in. Laying back and relaxes in the water as the heat pulls the soreness from her muscles. She goes over the events of the day. She found out that her biological father was alive and Lupina brought him here to teach her. She almost killed him in there first encounter. 

Reluctantly she gets out of the tube and dries off, heading back to her room to change. Before heading downstairs for the first meal she will have with her father.

Taking her seat, Grason sitting across from her. Susan has prepared some steaks and potato salad. Everyone starts eating, Kay watching Grason with hooded eyes. There is so much she wants to know about him and her mother. Things that he could only tell her about.

"So, um Dad. What was Mom like?"

"She was so much like you Kayleagha, headstrong and beautiful. I am glad that you got my eyes or you would look just like her."

Kayleagha blushes and continues eating before she turns to him again. "Tell me more about her please."

"When I first met her I almost lost it, I had been dreaming about her for months. We were so much in love, but being part of the Master Alpha's pack made it hard for us. We had to keep moving from place to place. When the reigning Alpha of the area would find us it was me they were after not your mother. I lost her completely when she was pregnant with you. They had found us again and I told her to run. I never found her again."

"Luna showed me that. She was crying when she left. The last words she said were 'I love you Grason'"

"Thank you Kay that means so much to me."

"You are welcome Dad. Now how are we going to do this? Do you think I am ready to face him?"

"You are inventive; I will give you that Kay. I think you could face him but I don't know how you are going to take to having him dominate you like I know for certain he will want to."

"What do you mean Dad?"

"Well how do I put it Kayleagha he will see you first and foremost as his mate and will want to claim you the minute he meets you. That in it's self is not such a bad thing but being the Master Alpha it will be even worse he will want to dominate you in everyway."

"I am not willing to accept that Dad. I don't want to be dominated by him I want him to meet me as an equal."

Lupina lifts her head and smiles. "There is a way."

"How?"

"Kayleagha you will need to challenge him for the right of succession."

"Now that I have to see."

"Why do you say that Dad?"

"My twenty one year old daughter challenging the Master Alpha for the right to take his place. You will have to be strong enough to pin him and make him submit to you."

"I may not be strong enough but I know I am fast enough to do it."

"Yes you are fast enough Kayleagha and I know that in you is the strength to do it but would you want to take his place and rule the Were's?"

"I don't know if I would want to lead."

"Oh Kay you would make a great Master Alpha. You are smart and with your natural link to Luna it would be the perfect way to get rid of the laws that they have that ended your kind." Lupina chimed in.

"That is true my darling daughter. No one could question your motives about that."

"The only problem you face is that the challenge must be done in your Were form. All the Alpha's would have to be present for the challenge. That means that they would all have to see you in your white tiger form. If you lose they would most likely want to kill you instantly."

"I think in there is the kicker. In killing you even if you lose they will be killing there Master Alpha as well."

"What do you mean by that Daddy?" Kayleagha said to Roger.

"Well Kay if you accept him and go to him even thou you have challenged him, you have still accepted him as your mate. That binds you to him in life as well as death. The Alpha's may not remember that fact but it is true. Luna's word is final and there is nothing that they can do to stop that fact."

"How do you know that Roger?"

"Some things were taught to us when we took the task of protecting Kayleagha. The first was that we needed to keep her away from Weres when she started to get in her teens. Cause if she lost her temper they might smell the Were on her. The second was that once you had had your mating dream and found him that only death could separate you. If you died then so would he if you had not fully mated. The rules become less strict once you are mated."

"That is a little strange. Why would Luna make it so?"

"You would have to ask her that?"

Kayleagha tilts her head thinking a little. "I think it has something to do with her relationship with Luner. She left him once she had mated with him once."

"You might be right Kayleagha."

"Well we are going to have to hurry this up since he knows my first name now and since it is so different it won't be hard to figure out who I am. Just so you know I could not keep that from him anymore, he wanted to know so I told him. Well I know his name already."

"That is fine Kay, you are just following your need. Lupina I suggest you phone home so as not to have him come looking for you. We need to prepare. I want us out of here before the week is out. If we want the element of surprise we better get our asses in gear."

Kay stood up and looked around at everyone present. "Don't you think I should do this by my self, I don't want everyone else to be pulled down with me if I fail."

"No chance Kay dear I finally found my daughter there is no chance I am letting you face this alone. If anything bad happens I will be fighting along side you like I should have done with your mother."

"I can't wait to see my brother's reaction to you Kay. There is nothing that will keep me away from that. With me and your father acting as your Bata's then the Alpha's will have to respect your Alpha standing."

"But I am not an Aplha, I don't have a pride."

"Yes you will Kayleagha. I can see all of the pack and pride less Were's following you in no time."

"Where would my pack/pride land be?"

Roger looks at Kay and clears his throat. "Here this land is controled by a human council but they are losing land each year as the packs and prides push on the edges taking more. Tomorrow we will go see the council and see what they think. I am sure that they will happily give over the lands to you to rule because of what you are."

"Daddy how big of a land group are we talking about?"

"Well the land runs from Spokane Washington to Minneapolis Minnesota. Then from Denvor Colorado to Thompson Landing North west Territories Canada."

"Daddy that would be the largest pack/pride land ever known by the Were's."

"Yes I know Kay but you could handle it."

Everyone goes back to eating as Kayleagha conciders what was said.

Once finished Grason goes off and starts making phone calls on his cell phone, Roger does the same.

Kayleagha helps Susan, Bec and Lupina as they clean up after there meal.

Both men returned into the kitchen at the same time.

"Kay sweetheart the human council will meet with you at eleven o'clock tomorrow morning."

"Ok Daddy."

"Well that works well for us as well cause the first group of packless Were's will be here at nine o'clock am tomorrow to meet with you Kayleagha."

"This is all happening so fast."

"I know it is Kay but if you don't deal with this now then you will have trouble dealing with it later."

"I think I will just go to bed now, there is so much happening tomorrow."

"Ok good night Kay sleep well."

"Yes Dad that is what I want."

Grason moves up on the bed and lays down Kayleagha lays down beside him. Then quickly falls into a dreamless sleep.

'Luna I hope that you know what you are doing? The way it is going she is going to half crazed by the time they meet.'

Kayleagha wakes up a few hours later and looks at her Father sleeping beside her. 'He went through so much without mom.' She slips out of the bed and goes to have a shower. The sun is not even up yet.

After she is dressed in shorts and a tank top she slips back into her room and grabs her mp3 player. Heads outside and starts running, trying to act like she normally did. She runs to the clearing and listening to the soft music playing from her player on the lowest volume setting she starts going through her workout. Gymastics moves flow into ballet, to marshal arts.

Lost in her music, she moves fluidly from one move to another. Not even noticing the audiance that is forming around her. Her body arcs in half as she does a back flip, her claws gripping into the ground. When she lands on her feet she finally looks around her. Seeing a group of unknown faces she roars out and drops into a defensive crouch.

Grason suddenly appears at the edge of the clearing his hair still soaking wet, dressed only in his loss fitting jeans. "You were not suppost to be here till nine Patrick. It is only just after 6 am."

"Sorry Grason I did not think that being early was such a bad thing. Never expected to see such a striking creature thou." 

"I would not be talking about her like that Patrick, that after all is my daughter."

"Since when do you have a daughter?"

"I told you that I had been mated over twenty years ago, and lost my mate before our child was born. Well we had a daughter, I just was introduced to her yesterday when she almost killed me."

"Only when someone sneaks up on me."

"Like you never noticed we were getting close?"

"NO, I did not notice. I am still getting the hang of being Were."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I only found out I was Were five days ago, on my twenty first birthday."

"What did you think you were before that?"

"Why human of course. Luna took great measures to hide the fact that I was Were."

"Strange Luna does not get involved in Were's lives not since the Rogue wars."

Kayleagha looks over at her Father and giggles. "She does with my kind."

"So why the fuck would she care so much for your kind anyway, you are just a Were?"

"Should I show him Dad?"

"It will be the only way that any of them will believe it Kay."

Kayleagha undoes the button of her shorts and shimmies out of them, then pulls her tank over her head. Stands before them naked for a few minutes before her body shimmers and the loud popping of her bones shifting can be heard. Her snow white and black fur sprots over her body as she drops down to all fours. She shakes her head when her shift is complete. Now before them is the largest tiger they had ever seen. The fact that she is white causes jaws to drop throughout the group.

'So everyone get the point?'

"But that is not possible they are all dead?"

"As you can see right before you Patrick that is not true. This is my daughter Kayleagha, the last white tiger."

Kay throws her head back and lets out deafening Roar. Every Were present falls down to there knees completely in shock.

Grason looks at his daughter with pride. 'You wondered if you were an Alpha, this proves what me and Lupina thought.'

'Yes is does Dad.'

"Madam Alpha, how can me and mine serve you?"

Kay shifts back to her human form, a young woman hardly sixteen years of age presents her clothing back to her. "Thank you..."

"Taliana Madam Alpha."

"Thank you Taliana."

Kay dresses quickly. "Now Patrick introduce me to the rest of your group."

"Yes Madam Alpha. The young woman is Taliana as she has told you, she is a wolf. Outcast after she was raped by five tigers in LA, seven months ago."

"That is not right, were the ones responceable at least punished?"

"No Madam Alpha, it was determained that they were not responseable for there actions seeing as Taliana was coming into her first heat."

"Those fucken rules need to be changed."

"There is not much that can be done about that. The Master Alpha is the only one who can change the rules."

"Well they will be, I am going to be challanging my mate the present Master Alpha for the right of succession."

Everyone but Grason gasps.

"How is it that you think you are the mate of the Master Alpha?"

"I don't think I am his mate I know it."

"But how?"

"Luna has decread it."

"Wow, she really is deeply intrenched in seeing that you have everything."

"I think it might be a blessing and a curse."

"Well to continue." Patrick motions for the rest to line up beside him. "This young man is Tanon and the woman beside him is Kara, they are both Wolves. The only mated pair in our little group. They came to us when they mated, they were outcast because Tanon was a Bata who mated to the daughter of the lowest Omaga in there pack. There Alpha at that time forbid there mating, so they outcast themselves to be together."

"I don't really understand the class system of the Were's as I see it everyone is basicly equal. As long as they do something for my pride then they are welcome."

"Next this is Tristan, he is our lone Bear. He just showed up thirty five years ago, does not talk much but he protect all those in our family."

Kay looks at her Father as she moves forward and stands right in front of Tristan. Looking into Tristan's eyes she sees great pain there. "So you watched your mate taken by another?"

"How did you know?"

"I don't know I can just feel it. We will get her back for you."

"Thank you Madam Alpha."

"This is Catrina she is a Fox. She was born an outcast."

"It is nice to see an Amazonian Fox again. I am glad that my own ancestors didn't kill you all off."

Patrick looks shocked over at Catrina. "You are a rare Were?"

"Yes during the Rogue wars some of the children were hiddened in places were they could live on."

"My kind did not distroy any Were line fully, we made so many arrangements to keep them safe."

"For that there are many Were races that are greatful. Keeping hidden from the council was easy actually we just stayed in the human areas."

"Now the last of our little family are the triplets. Mara, Trina, and Carin, they are all Tigers. There mother was outcast when she was pregant cause she refused to let them know who had mated with her. Sadly she passed shortly after the girls were born. They will be turning 13 in about 6 weeks."

"I know what it is like to lose a mother girls. Thankfully I was adopted by a wonderful human family and now I have finally met my real father."

All three girls speak at the exact same time "It is nice to meet you Madam Alpha."

"So Pat what do you think of my daughter?"

"She seems like a wonderful girl Grason."

Grason just smiles.

"So Dad let me see now I have a pride, but no pride land as of yet. Daddy how much longer till that meeting with the human council?"

Roger, Susan, Bec and Lupina walk into the clearing at that moment. "It is still another couple of hours before you have to meet with them sweetie."

"Where are we meeting them?"

"There are coming to the Eureka, we are suppost to meet them at the community hall there."

"How long will it take us to get to the community hall from here?"

"It should take about an hour and a half to get there, I think?"

"So who will all be going with us?"

"I was thinking that you should have Grason, Lupina and just me with you sweetie."

"Ok so lets get something to eat before we head out. Daddy can I drive?"

"I know you are a really good driver Kay but I want to get there without having a heartattack. You tend to drive really fast when you are excited."

Grason starts laughing, "Guess she takes after her mother more then even I knew about."

"Can we get going already?"

"Yes sweetie, everyone in the car. Susan love looks like we are going to need to feed everyone tonight."

"I guess we are Rogar dear. You guys drive safe."

All that were going got into the car and they headed out.

The hour and a half long trip to Eureka was uneventful. Once they got into town and started there slow process to the community hall Kayleagha started to shift in the back seat getting restless.

"What is up with you Kay do you have to pee or something?"

"No, I am just getting nervous is all."

"Why they are just humans you handled your meeting with the Were's better then this."

"Yeah right they shocked the shit out of me by showing up the way they did. I was ready to rip them to pieces."

They pulled up to the community hall, the parking lot was full of cars. Finally they found a spot and everyone filed out of the car.

Kayleagha looks around at all the cars and gets even more nervous. "I did not think there would be this many people."

"Calm down Kayleagha, they are not going to judge you in anyway. We are just here to give them an option."

"OK Dad."

They wall into the hall and a hush falls over the crowd.

"My name is Roger Howard I am the one who contacted you to set up this meeting."

"Nice to meet you Roger, my name is Simon Robertson. I will be running this meeting. You brought up a very interesting sugestion to us. Who amoung the ones with you are you suggesting takes over as Alpha for our region to keep us safe?"

"May I introduce you to my adpoted daughter Kayleagha Howard Montagew, her Bata's Grason Montagew and Lupina Montgrey."

"A Montgrey, is she related to the Master Alpha?"

"Yes I am his little sister."

"You chose to follow her rather then you own brother?"

"Kayleagha is stronger and more controled then my brother ever could be."

"Grason how are you related to her anyway? I know that it must be since she shares a last name with you."

"I am her biological father."

"Now that is interesting. From what I can see and what I know that would make her a wolf."

"No I am not a wolf."

"Then what are you Kayleagha."

"You would not believe it unless I showed you."

"Try us."

"Well don't say I did not warn you. I am a white tiger."

"That can't be they were all killed off at the end of the Rogue wars."

"I said you would not believe me. Daddy what was the point of this they were never going to really listen to me anyway."

"Kay sweetie you need to calm down."

"What is the point. They don't believe me even when I tell them the truth. They are never going to give the right to rule this land. Luna why are you putting me through this what have I ever done to deserve to be treated like this."

'Calm yourself child.'

"Why should I calm down Luna? Just give me one reason to do so?"

'LUNETTE KAYLEAGHA AMBER MILLIENCENT HOWARD MONTAGEW CALM YOURSELF.'

Kayleagha whole body shakes with her uncontroled anger. "Fine."

Simon looks at Roger then Grason. "Does she always do that?"

Both reply in unison "Yes."

"Does Luna always answer her?"

"Yes Kay seems to really get to Luna."

"Why wouldn't she respond to me. She is basicly my grandmother, and she is trying to run my life."

"I have never heard the goddess Luna refured to as family before?"

"I am a direct decendant from Lunara so that makes her family to me."

"You are going to need to prove that you are a white tiger sweetie."

"Oh ok Daddy. I hope that I dont shock them with me getting naked."

"We have seen a few people naked before Kayleagha."

Looking over at Lupina she motions her toward her. Kayleagha grabs her t-shirt and pulls it over her head, handing it to Lupina. Reaches behind herself undoing her bra then slides it down her arms, handing it to Lupina as well. Undoes her shorts and shimmines her hips pulling down her panties as well, before handing both to Lupina. Kicks off her shoes then breaths deeply. Closing her eyes and fights being nervous. 

'Just breath Kayleagha dear, let your tiger come to you dont force it.'

Breathing a little deeper before feeling her body shiver, joints pop. Falling forward as her bones lengthen landing squarely on her paws. Yawns as her face flattens slightly and her teeth pop into place. Kayleagha then shakes her head before roaring out loudly.

"By Luna I never expected her to be so big."

"She is slightly larger then her mother was, but then again all white tigers were large."

Kayleagha just glaces around at all the humans then circles before laying down and starts grooming herself. 

"Why do you believe that she is an Alpha anyway?"

"Well that is easy to explain. She almost killed me yesterday when she felt threatened." stated Grason. "Concidering I am the one who trains almost everyone in my pack since I first became a Beta. Did I forget to mention that I am from the Master Alpha's pack."

"You are saying that not only did she steal the Master Alpha's sisters loyalty but also one of his training Beta's. Damn she must be powerful."

"So Simon are you willing to accept the offer we placed before you."

Simon walks over to the head table and talks to the seven men there. "Ladies and Gentlemen lets call this to a vote. All in favour please raise your hands."

Every human in the room raises there hands.

"I guess that does it. I will draft a letter to send to the Master Alpha stating that our region now has an Alpha leader."

"Kay sweetie please shift back."

In seconds Kayleagha is once again standing naked in front of them. Lupina moves over to her and hands back her clothing. Once dressed Kayleagha looks around. 

"I don't think that we should put my name on that Don would be sure to be here in hours if he saw it. What did Luna call me?"

'LUNETTE KAYLEAGHA AMBER MILLIENCENT HOWARD MONTAGEW'

"Luna called me Lunette I think that would be a better name to list me as for the Alpha annoucement. Call me Lunette Montagew. Don will never figure out who I am that way not till I meet him in person."



The Last of the White Tigers Ch. 07A



Kayleagha and her party leave the community hall and head back home. Once on the open road back to the cabin Kayleagha leans her head back against the seat and falls to sleep.

Kayleagha lifts her head and looks around the clearing in Luna's forest. She scents the air finding that she is alone here for now.

She wonders to herself 'Would it be safe for me to explore this forest in my tiger form?'

'Yes my dearest Kay you can, I will let you know when he arrives.' A familiar voice stated.

'Thank you Luna.'

Kayleagha relaxes and shifts into her tiger form. Joints pop and bones lengthen before she settles down on the ground purring happily. Each shift seems to seem easier then the last.

Getting up Kay stretches then heads to the nearest tree. She contemplates which branch to jump to for a moment, then crouches before leaping into the tree. Exhilarated to be finally free enough to run without worry of discovery, she leaps and twists from tree to tree feeling more free then she has felt since before the change.

Finding a rather large sturdy branch on one of the largest tree's in Luna's forest she settles down to sun herself for the very first time. Thoughts of Don and his wolf run through her head. Kay wonders if he will ever be able to accept who and what she truly is.

'Lunette Kayleagh Millacent Howard Montgrew do not worry about him accepting you. He won't be able to help himself. Donavon and his wolf already love you.'

'Luna how can I ever be sure that he won't let the mistakes of the past destroy us?'

'He won't dearest. I would not have made him your mate if he was wrong for you. You just have to trust me.'

'But Luna it is going threw five hundred years of prejudice to be together. I am going to show them all that what they were taught to believe their whole lives is wrong.'

'We will discuss this later dearest it is time for you to wake up. You are almost home and there are more people for you to meet when you get there.'

Kayleagha opens her eyes and stretches looking out the window. Sitting in front of the cabin are four buses and thirty some cars.

"Oh what is going on, who do all these vehicles belong to?"

"Kayleagha that would be the rest of your pride."

"The rest of my pride? You are telling me there are even more?"

"Why of course Madam Alpha, your pride is now five hundred members strong not including the humans. Every outcast Were who lives in the territory that you are now Alpha to."

"Oh Luna, save me."

"Don't worry so much my darling Kay you can do this."

"You have to say that you are my Father."

"That really does not matter Kay, I say it because I believe in what you are capable of."

Kayleagha blushes and smiles. Everyone piles out of the car and she takes her first steps to facing her destiny. A destiny that is partly of her own making.

Susan waves at everyone and several small children come running from the place they were playing behind the cabin almost running into Kay in there haste.

Kayleagha drops down to one knee and looks over toward the seven boys and five girls that were in the group running around. "So who do we have here?"

The smallest of the children is little more than four years old. The older children shy away from the young woman before them but this tiny little boy walks right up to her.

"Hi my name is Adam."

"Well it is nice to meet you Adam. My name is Kayleagha but you can call me Kay."

"I like you, do you know this lady that the big people are talking about being the Alpha?"

"Yes little one I do." Kay leans in close to him and whispers close to his ear. "They are talking about me Adam."

"That is so neat. You don't look or act like the other big people."

"I will take that as a compliment little one."

Adam moves in closer to Kayleagha and sniffs.

"You smell different." He said astoundedly.

"I think I would little man because I am not like any animal you have ever met before."

With that statement all the other children move in closer to the pair.

"So what are you?" asks one of the oldest boys in the group.

"I know all of you have seen a tiger. Right?"

"Well of course we have seen a tiger some of us are tigers."

"That is good, but you don't have to get snarky with me young man."

The youth drops his head and softly speaks. "Sorry Ma'am."

"As I was saying, all of you have seen a tiger. But have any of you seen a white tiger?"

"No." all the children said in unison.

"My Papa told me they were all dead."

"Not all of them little one. I am the last."

One of the older girls looks at her, "Can we please see Ma'am?"

Kayleagha gets up and quickly strips out of her clothing letting them drop down onto the ground behind her. She lets the shift take over her and drops down on all fours her back arcing as she lands on her paws.

The children back up before rushing forward in awe.

Kay looks around at the children before turning her head and licking the one closest to her.

"Oh that tickles." giggles Adam.

"Kay come there are others that want to meet you."

'I will be there when I am done with the children.'

The children reach out there hands in awe, tentatively touching her silky white and black fur. Some get bolder and get even closer to you. Then a five year old little girl walks right up to her and nuzzles into her chest. Kay shits down on her butt, her tail twitching happily behind her as she starts to purr loudly. The little girl shifts even closer to her and nuzzles in. In a soft little voice she whispers, "You are so pretty, I wish you were my mommy. I don't have a mommy anymore."

'Dad, can you come here.'

'Kay what do you need?'

'Put the girl on my back I need to go speak to the adults now. I need to know her story.'

Grason walks over and picks up the small girl, as Kayleagha gets back up on her paws. Placing the girl gently down on Kay's back. 

"Now little lady hold on tight."

"Yes Sir."

Kay slowly walks toward the crowd behind the cabin the little girl smiling and looking so proud to be getting a ride on the back of her new Alpha.

"Look Nana, look at me." Called out the small girl giggling

"Oh I see you buttercup. Wouldn't your mama be proud you made a friend of the Alpha already."

The shock settles over the crowd of newcomers. Never had they even imagined seeing a white tiger, let alone one that was bigger than half the males present. 

Grason picks the little girl back up and then places her on the ground beside Kay, who turns and ever so gently nuzzles the little girl before licking her cheek. Then nudges her off toward her grandmother. 

Kay greets the rest of the children the same way before sending them off toward the adults.

Lupina comes over to stand beside Kay holding a robe.

Kayleagha quickly shifts back and puts on the robe. Looking back out toward the crowd staring at her, she started to speak her voice clear and authoritative. "Well you have all seen what I am. Now I have been gifted with these lands by the human council. Since all of you make a home here in the nowhere land which I now call my own. I give this choice to you to accept my standing as Alpha or move on to another's land and hope for acceptance there."

Silence settles over the crowd. They look around at their present ruling Alpha's of their groups.

"I am accepting all of you for who you are. I have no right to judge any of you or your reasons for settling here in the nowhere land of the humans. I thought I was human up until a few days ago. So I ask all of you to bare with me and understand I am doing this all out of instinct."

"I never asked for any of this but Luna put me in a position that I need to accept my place in the scheme of things. Like all others before me I was granted the one gift that she took from the Were's, I had my mating dream. I know that to get my mate I have to take the place she wishes me to take."

"What place does Luna what you to have?"

Kayleagha looks over at the older gentleman who stands off to the side away from everyone else.

"Luna wants me to challenge the Master Alpha."

"She wants you to rule?"

"Yes that is the only way I will last long enough to mate without being killed for what I am. I need to take my mates place and change the laws to protect myself. They can't very well kill the one who rules them without dealing with their own laws of succession."

"Yes that is true young lady, but what makes you think that you can beat him in a fight. You might be big and strong but you don't have the years of training that it takes to even be an Alpha let alone the Master Alpha of us all."

"I may not have trained like anyone of you have been trained but I have trained my whole life."

"You may not believe this but I trained the wolves of the Master Alpha's pack for years before I mated with Kay's mother, then for a few years after I lost her. Kay put me down and almost killed me when she felt the slightest bit threatened by me, So there is no question in my mind that my daughter is strong enough to succeed in here challenge of succession." Her dad said calmly.

"Donavon is hot headed when it comes to fighting and just being female will be an advantage for Kay, Not to mention that he, like most male Were's will react to her smell as she is his mate. But we are not counting on that because Kay does not need to use that against him."

"I want to win succession in a fair fight, it is not like I want to rule as the Master Alpha it is the only way that I can make the changes that I need to, to keep my people and myself from being destroyed just cause of who we are."

"Mom did you make enough for everyone?"

"Yes darling, we have enough food for everyone."

"Good I will give everyone till after they have eaten to choose. This is now my pride land, if you don't want to stay I will not force you."

Kay turns and walks up the back porch. Then into the kitchen before taking the stairs two at a time and slams her bedroom door shut.

Throwing herself down on her bed she quietly sobs.

'Why did you have to do this to me Luna? If my life was not fucked up enough you had to make me an Alpha.'

'Kayleagha that is who you are, you can't change that. Your mother named you Lunette to honor me and who I was to your family. I am your family. You are the last of my blood line, the last of my daughter's line. I put all my hopes and dreams in you. You were the one born who looks so like my Lunara.'

'You mean I look just like Lunara?'

"You look like her, and my Dearest Kay you even act like her. She never wanted any of the power play none sense that the other Were's seemed to thrive on. All she wanted to do was spend time with the children, mate and have children of her own. Which she did.'

'How many children did she have?'

'Lunara had fifteen children and adpoted twelve before she died.'

'Luna can you tell me about that little girl who I saw today?'

'Marianna is a very special little girl, she is the result of a mixed Were mating. Her mother was a wolf, her father was a bear. For their love they were both put to death, but they were not found till after the she was born and hidden here in the pride land with her father's mother.'

'Luna do you think that I can claim her and raise her as my own if she and her grandmother stay?'

'My dearest I cannot answer that.'

'Dad, I need to talk to the girl Marianna's grandmother have her and the child brought into the house I will meet you in my room in twenty minutes.'

'Yes Kayleagha dear.'

Twenty minutes later a knock happens at her door and it opens to Kay sitting at her desk, fully dressed.

"Kayleagha dear I would like to introduce you to Mary Martians a bear shifter and her granddaughter the only child of her only son Marianna Martians."

"It is a honor to meet you Madam Alpha Ma'am."

"No Mary the honor is all mine."

"What is it you wished to see me about Madam Alpha?"

"I had a heart to heart with Luna to learn the story behind your granddaughter Mary and I was really wondering if you would be staying here in the pride land?"

"Yes Madam Alpha we want to stay."

"I am relieved. Now Mary there is something important I wanted to talk to you about."

"What is that Madam Alpha Ma'am?"

"I have noticed that you are getting on in years Mary. I mean no disrespect but you must have had your son later on in life."

"Yes Madam Alpha I did. I found my mate just a few years short of me entering into the stage when I could no longer bare my mate young. I lost him when my son was still in his teenage years."

"I am sorry for that loss and then several years later you lost both your son and his new wife leaving you with their beautiful little girl to raise on your own."

"Yes Madam Alpha, it has been hard but I love my little buttercup to distraction."

"I can see that Mary, but I am going to offer you something. I want to adopt Marianna, and make her my heir."

"I am so honored by this. But we need to ask Marianna."

Kay slip off her chair and drops to her knees on the ground before the little girl Marianna. "Little one, do you want to be my daughter?"

"Really, you want me to be your daughter and stay with me always as my mommy."

"Yes Marianna I want to be your mommy."

Marianna beams and jumps into Kay's arms "Yes oh Yes I want you to be my mommy forever and ever."

"So Mary tell me which parent Marianna takes after, can she shift into a wolf or a bear?"

"Madam Alpha my little buttercup can shift into both forms."

"That is very interesting. I can see now why the mixed matings were frowned upon."

"That is just it which pack would she belong to? Both would reject her if she was found out." 

"My pride will never reject my sweet little girl. She is the future of all the Were. I am making my way to the Master Alpha by the end of the week and set forth the challenge of the right of secession."

"But Madam Alpha do you really think that is wise?"

"It is the only way that I can save my daughter and the others out there that are like her."
