Thanks to Archangel_M, who will hopefully be editing more of my work, I was able to correct majority of my mistakes. I hope this version is easier to read. Be on the look out for chapter 2, coming out very soon! ~MissWolfy~ *~*~*~*~*~*~* "Asena, come on! We need to leave now or we'll miss our flight," Kiara yelled as she passed my room. "Whatever, Kia. I know what time the plane leaves," I answered as I tossed my bags by the front door. "Oh come on, you can't still be mad at me," Kiara protested as she followed me into the kitchen. "Umm... yes I can," I said as I took a few drinks out the refrigerator. "This was supposed to be our annual best friends vacation, and you ruined it with your current boy-toy," I complained as I disposed of all the foods that could spoil while we were away. "Okay, so what... I was just supposed to tell him 'Hey, I know you said you'd pay for Asena and me to come up to New York and spend our vacation with you, but we've decided it would be way more fun just to go to our usual vacation spot at Virginia Beach than going to New York!'" Kiara said, sarcasm dripping off of every word. "I mean, come on, Sena! I know you have trust issues but he offered to pay for our whole trip. It doesn't get any better than that!" she said, with a little too much excitement. Kiara and I have been best friends since our freshman year of high school. My family had just moved to the area, and as the new girl starting school in the middle of second semester my life, to put it gently, was hell. With me frantically trying to study and learn all the material for the upcoming finals, I never had time to try and make friends. Well, not until I met Kiara. Kiara was what everyone would consider a party girl. Always jumping from group to group trying to find out when the next big social event was. Everyone loved her; she was the captain of the dance squad at our school, and she had all the boys chasing after her. Kia would always talk about how she'd hate to be the head cheerleader, because all the boys went for the dancers at our school. So when she found me, she told me I was the ugly duckling she would turn into a beautiful swan. That's Kia for ya. "Look. I don't care what you do with your guys in your free time, but I don't enjoy being forced into a vacation paid for by one of them, who I know nothing about. He could be a rapist for all I know!" I said as I slammed the garbage closed and headed to the front to load my stuff into the car. "Okay. Asena, you are just overreacting, as usual. Everything will be fine, now we have to hurry and check in for this flight. Gosh, I can't wait to see that sexy hunk of a boyfriend I have. Yum... let's go!!!" Kiara said while shutting the trunk and hopping in the driver's seat. Ugh. Wesley, I thought, the guy who is ruining my peaceful vacation time. ********** On the plane, I was quietly reading my People magazine when Kia turns to me and says, "You need to get laid." "What?" I raised my voice before I remembering I was on a plane. "What do you mean I need to get laid? I don't see how that's any of your concern," I said a little quietly than before. "I mean just what I said; you need to get laid. You're so uptight and to yourself. You need a good piece of meat between those curvy legs you have to loosen you up a bit," Kia said with a huge smile on her face. "Kiara, shut the hell up. I can't believe you just said that; there are children next to you." I glanced at the children real quick to make sure that hadn't heard our conversation. "Whatever, Sena, you know you want some dick," she said, wiggling her eyebrows up and down. "I'm taking a nap now. Wake me up when we land," I said, and leaned up against the window. ********** "Asena, Asena! Wake up, we're here. Come on, we have to go, Wesley's waiting for us, let's go!" Kiara said, yanking me up from my seat. "Jeez, Kia! You act like you haven't seen him in the past month," I said, straightening out my clothes. "I basically haven't! He's been gone on business for the past few weeks. So this vacation is perfect timing, come on." "Alright, alright, let's go." After grabbing our luggage, we started walking over to where we were to meet Wesley. The next thing I know Kiara dropped everything and started sprinting towards this guy. I guessed that it was Wesley from her description of him earlier. He was tall about 6'1", give or take an inch. Very lean, enough to where you could tell he stayed active, and to top it off he had dark curly hair, with green eyes. But there was something else about him, something I hadn't seen since I was a child. Something my parents never wanted me to know. And more importantly, something that was a piece to a puzzle I've been trying to put together my whole life. A puzzle I wasn't planning on solving in the middle of an airport. So I bent down to grab as many bags as I could. It didn't work out so well. I'm sure I looked comical to everyone watching, a 5'5" woman trying to get at least six bags to balance in her arms. Every time I picked up a bag another one would slide off my arm. I was turning in circles like a dog chasing his tail to grab the fallen bags. Kiara and Wesley must've noticed my struggle, since they came over and offered to help. Ten minutes later, we and the luggage were all loaded into Wesley's' brand-spanking-new BMW, heading towards our hotel. ********** During the ride to the hotel, my mind kept wandering back to Wesley. And no, I'm not that friend that's going to try to sabotage my friend's relationship to get the guy. I have more important things to do with my time. Plus even if I wanted to, which I don't, I wouldn't even stand a chance. Kiara is tall, standing at 5'9" to my 5'5". Her skin completion is a brownish tan, and she's built like a model, with legs that got on for miles. Her dark brown hair goes right past her shoulders and compliments her light brown eye color, whereas my skin tone is more of a golden brown or caramel. And where Kia is all legs, I'm all curves, not fat curves, believe me I work out to keep my figure and my flat stomach. But I am not at all built like a model whatsoever. My best features are probably my long black hair, well shaped ass and hazel eyes that had a few specks of green within. But like I was saying, I could never get a guy like Wesley, so I don't see the point in wasting my life wishing for something that will never happen. I just rather be happy for Kia. I happened to look up just in time to catch Wesley looking at me, with a look as if he couldn't figure something out. So, that brings me back to when I said there was something about him that was out of place. Something I still couldn't figure out. Like there was another side to him. When I first saw him I got this vibe of confidence and also a sense of protection, which is very rare. My mother always told me that I had a good sense of character, she said it was my sixth sense. And what i was sensing from this guy was that he was hiding something, and Kiara didn't even know from the look of things. "Asena. Asena! Goodness, I could've sworn you were in a totally different world. What I was saying was, Wes said he would like to take us out to this new club, if we're feeling up to it," Kiara said as she turned around to face me from up front. "Oh yeah, sure, sounds fun," I said as I plastered a fake smile on my face and gave Wesley a look through the mirror that could've only said 'Oh, I'm on to you buddy.' "Yes! See, I knew you couldn't stay mad at me forever. We're going to have so much fun tonight!" Kiara squealed happily to herself. Oh, we're going to have loads of fun, I thought as I looked at Wes one more time. Oh yeah, I'm not as naïve as you think,Wes. I smiled to myself as a plan began to formulate in my head. ********** Not As Naive As You Think Ch. 02 This is the edited version of chapter 2. I hope there aren't as many mistakes as there was in chapter one. An editor looked over the first part but didn't quite finish. But I went ahead and submitted it anyway. I hope you enjoy it. MissWolfy *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* As we drove up to the hotel I was totally at a loss for words; it was fit for kings and queens. To think we'll be staying here for a month. "Wesley said the bellhop will bring up our luggage. He already checked us into the penthouse. He'll be back in an hour to pick us up. Oh my gosh, this is better than I thought, come on," Kiara said again dragging me to the elevators. Being in the penthouse meant we had an amazing view of New York City. The room was as mind-blowing as the outside was. It had two grand rooms with California king-sized beds in the center. Each room had its own bathroom, which was total luxury with its hot tub and glass waterfall shower. Kiara pulled me from my trance, saying "Come on girl, we got to get ready! Wesley told me this club was off the chain." After stripping out of her clothes she began pulling a blood-red dress out of a suitcase. "Kiara, I don't know if I should go; I mean, I'm a bit tired plus I have nothing to wear," I said, plopping down on her bed. "Gosh, this bed feels amazing." "I know, right? I can't wait to get Wesley to show me how he can drive into this pus-" "Ah! Too much information, just the image I needed to see," I cut her off before she could finish. "Hey, what can I say, I have a hunk of a guy that I still need to get into bed. But you're not getting yourself out of this one tonight. I know you brought that black cocktail dress we bought together that one time. So don't give me that excuse. Go get dressed, and oh, do you happen to remember where I put my red stilettos?" Kiara asked as she rummaged through some bags. "Ugh, fine. And they're in the bag on the top shelf in the closet," I grumbled as I headed to my room to get ready. The dress was ten times tighter and shorter than I last remembered. It hugged my curvaceous hips while pushing my size-C breasts up, almost causing them to spill out of the top. "Damn! Girl, look at you getting all sexy on me. Oh, wait right here, I'll be right back," Kiara said before disappearing down the hall. For this occasion I let my hair down, allowing the natural curls to fall across my shoulders, which is very rare compared to my usual high bun. "Here." Kiara came back in the room handing me my big silver harp-like earrings to top off my dress and light makeup. "You look great! You're going to make every man in that club cum in their pants. Well, except Wesley, of course." "Kiara! Do you always have to be so nasty? Goodness!" I said grabbing my purse off the bed. Kiara's phone began to ring. She wanted for it to ring three times before she answered. "Don't want to seem too eager, you know," Kiara laughed before putting the phone to her ear. "Hello? Okay... be right down. Bye." Kiara said then hung up the phone. "Come on, Wesley's waiting. It's time to PAR-TAY!" Kiara sang as she did a little dance out the door. I rolled my eyes as I followed her to the elevators. ********** The Club Wesley said he should've hired us guards, because as good as we were looking we were bound to cause trouble. That was probably true; from the moment we stepped into the club, catcalls kept coming our way. I could tell it was getting to Wesley; he had his arm wrapped so tight around Kiara's waist I thought she would pop. Somehow we made it up to the VIP section of the club; which was pretty clear compared to the rest of the crowded club. We were beginning to relax as we sipped on the drinks the waiter brought us. I was halfway done with my Dirty Shirley Temple when some guy, obviously too drunk to notice how big and intimidating Wesley was, wandered over to our table. He had the balls to grab Kiara's hand and ask her to dance. When she was obviously wrapped around Wesley. This drove Wesley over the top, I was almost positive I heard him growling under his breath. When I glanced over at the man again I'd got that feeling, the same one I felt when I had first met Wesley. 'What is it about these men that is so weird?' I thought to myself. This man was handsome, in a boyish sort of way. He didn't look any older than twenty. Too bad Wesley was about to rearrange his face with his fist; he was really attractive. "Wes, please calm down." Kiara tried to break the tension building up. "You're right, baby, I'm sorry," Wesley said as he unbuttoned a few buttons on his shirt, showing off the top of his chest, glistening in sweat. I saw Kiara's eyes grow dark with lust, and I took that as my cue to leave before I saw more than I wanted. "Okay..."I started as I slid out of the booth. "I'm just going to head down to the dance floor, as I can see I'm not needed." At this point Kiara was rubbing Wesley through his pants while burying her face in his neck. I noticed that Wesley was staring at the man who still occupied our table. I was a little creeped out by the way they were staring each other down, almost like they were challenging each other. Abruptly, the man turned and headed out of the VIP area. I turned back to look at Wesley, who by this point was feeling up Kiara in return. I finally walked down to the dance floor not in the mood to watch porn, starring Wesley and Kiara. It was so hot in the club, and the extra heat from the bodies crowding the dance floor wasn't helping any. 'Okay you need to just relax, Asena. Relax. This will be fun,' I tried to convince myself as I eased through the crowds of people. The DJ switched the song to Trey Songs' - Sex Ain't Better Than Love. I started to sing to the music as my body swayed to the rhythm of the beat. I let the music take control of my body guiding my hands up and through my hair in a sensual movement. I began to notice men staring at me as I brought my hands continued to roam as I moved. Normally seeing the burning lust in their eyes would have caused me to stop, but knowing these men wanted me turned me on. I closed my eyes and continued to let the music overpower me when I felt someone, obviously a very strong man based on the muscles I felt through his shirt, pull me against him. My first thought was to move away from him. But MAN! Did his body feel good pressed against me while moving to the song. "You know..." he breathed into my ear from behind. "It's not right to tease innocent men." He pressed his groin into my back. I thought my pussy was wet from hearing his husky voice but that was nothing compared to how drenched it became after feeling his length against my back. I turned around the best I could before I came face to face with sin and sex itself. What first caught my attention were his eyes. They were an unbelievable shade of blue, almost like they were glowing against his sun-kissed skin. The stubble around his chin gave him a rugged, outdoors look. And his body, oh his body--was as if he was made for sex. Muscles everywhere, not muscles like a body builder but enough to make me want to explore what was hidden under all that clothing. I let my eyes travel down his body to the evident tent in the front of his jeans, and I saw it twitch under my gaze. I brought my eyes back to his face and saw a devilish smirk on his face. I could feel a blush spreading over my face as he continued to stare at me. Even with my brown skin it's light enough to show when I'm blushing and that only seemed to amuse him more as he grabbed my waist to bring me toward him. But then I noticed something: this man was just like Wesley and the drunk guy from earlier. I got this strange feeling that something inside me was being awakened whenever I was around them. Oh no, this is bad... "Um... I-I don't t-think..." I stuttered after I collided with his hard chest. "Shh baby, don't think; just feel," he said as he brought his lips to my neck. I whimpered quietly when he lightly bit the area where my neck and shoulder connected. 'Get ahold of yourself, Asena! This is a stranger, you shouldn't be feeling this!' my mind screamed at me. But something inside wouldn't allow me to move from his embrace. As we continued to move to the music I finally got bold enough to actually dance with him. I put my back against his front before bending low and purposely pushing my ass on his dick as I wiggled back up. I heard him groan before he gripped my waist and began grinding against my ass. 'Gosh, he feels so good,' I thought as his hands roamed my body. The man's hand drifted up to my breast, and at first I was a little shocked he would do something so intimate in public. But something told me that no one was stupid enough to challenge this Adonis and, to be honest, I didn't care. "Oh... mmm... w-wait, we c-can't," I tried to explain in between moans as he caressed my breasts through my dress. "Mmm... baby, but we can," he chuckled when my knees gave out for a second. Luckily, his arm was still securely around my waist. "I-I-I...." I started before giving up and giving in to the pleasure. Somehow, between caresses and nips at my neck, we ended up against a wall. "What--" I started before being cut off by him, again. "God, you look good enough to eat," He claimed, then captured my lips with his. 'Gosh, how did I get this lucky, oh I don't care, this was only a one night stand.' I thought to myself before I heard a growl. I pulled away from the man, whose name I still didn't know, and looked up into his eyes. He looked pissed, I didn't know why though, I thought we were having a great time... exploring each other. "Ashton. Ashton McFayden," he said, breaking me from my thoughts. "What?" Shocked that he had just answered the question I had just thought, i wondered if i had said that out loud when I'd meant it only for myself. "My name is Ashton and no, you didn't say anything out loud," he said looking very serious, it was very intimidating, to the point that I had to take a step back. He growled and stepped towards me. "What are you?" I asked in a timid voice I hadn't even known I possessed. "I don't think this is a good time, and I don't think you're ready to know yet either," he stated simply as he continued to follow me; I was still backing away. "And when exactly is it a good time for me to find out?" I stopped placing my hands on my hips to show how serious I was. "That depends on you sweet thang," he said with a hint of a Southern accent before he closed the gap between us and began kissing up my neck. I didn't pull away; I couldn't find it in me to move. He was just so sexy, and he sure knew how to use that mouth of his. His kisses trailed down my neck all the way to the top of my breast, which was poking out from the top of my dress. I was so numb with pleasure I couldn't even move but I was nowhere near as numb as I would be in a second. The next thing I knew Ashton was growling and not quiet, 'back up from up on me' growling, but full-blown, 'I might just kill you' growling. It scared the shit out of me. I looked up to Ashton to see what was going on and noticed a man heading our way. with two more men flanking him. And they were huge; not as big as Ashton, but they were intimidating enough that I wanted to leave. "Baby, I'm going to need you to go with Wesley and Kiara now," Ashton told me before turning to Wesley, who was now at his side. "Take her back to the hotel with Kiara. Stay with them until I get there. Do you understand?" Wesley gave a slight nod before grabbing Kiara and me and pulling us toward the exit. Both of their faces had gone stone hard, and I could tell something was about to happen. I turned back to get one last glance at Ashton, watching him head toward the trio of men. He was brave to face them on his own. 'God, I hope he'll be okay.' I prayed that wouldn't be my last time seeing him. As we exited the club, something inside reassured me this wouldn't be the last I saw of Ashton McFayden. Not As Naive As You Think Ch. 03 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Hey, you guys! I'm back, sorry for the wait but so much has been going on in my life lately. Anyways, I'm back with chapter three and this will answer a lot of your questions about some of the characters. My grammar is still a work in progress but I'm seriously working on it. I broke some serious point of view rules in this chapter, I hope it doesn't make it too difficult to understand, I marked each POV switch. I hope you enjoy this chapter! Miss Wolfy ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ First Person Both Kiara and I sat on one of the beds chatting away, clad in our pajamas while a movie played on the TV. "Ok, so tomorrow we're going shopping. Wes said there is also this great restaurant he wants to take us to before we leave," Kiara said as she casually flipped through some magazines. "You mean, take you," I mumbled under my breath. "Oh, that's cool, sounds exciting," I said with faked happiness. "Knock, knock," came from the door before Wesley poked his head into the room. "So much for waiting for an answer," I mumbled again, missing the smirk forming on Wesley's face. "You know, Asena, if you don't stop glaring at me like that you're going to get wrinkles," he teased coming all the way in the room. "Haha. Do I look like I'm in the mood for your jokes Wesley?" I asked more pissed off than I was 20 seconds ago. "What is going on? What was that at the club?" I demanded getting up from the bed. "Asena, calm down, I know you're just worried about Ashton. Don't worry, he can handle himself, trust me," Wesley winked at me. "Wesley, stop messing with her, can't you see she's completely distraught without her lover," Kiara added, making fun of me. "But seriously Asena everything is fine," Kiara said before switching to another magazine. "Ashton left us with good protection," she said winking back at Wes. "I just wanted to let you girls know I'm about to head out for a little bit. I think it would be best if you don't leave this room or open the door for anyone until I come back tomorrow, ok?" Wes asked, leaning against the door frame. His presence made the room seem much smaller. "I thought you weren't supposed to leave until Ashton came," I reminded him. "I'm actually going to see him now. He said there was no reason for him to come out here. He apologizes if he scared you ladies at the club," he said as he stood up. "Well, I'll be on my way, I'll call you tomorrow, Kia." Wes was heading out the room when Kiara jumped up from the bed. "Wait!" Kiara ran up to Wesley wrapping her arms around his neck before giving him a kiss. "You weren't planning on leaving without saying goodbye, were you?" Kiara teased before nipping his neck. "Of course not," he growled lightly as she continued to plant small kisses on his neck. "Come on, babe, I have to go," he said detaching her arms from around his neck. "I'll see you in the morning," he said placing one last kiss on her lips before exiting the room. I sat on the bed a bit hurt by the fact that Ashton didn't think she was reason enough to come over. Then again those types of men were arrogant and trouble anyway, I tried to convince myself. "Asena, why are you so hard on him?" Kiara asked as she picked up her magazine and sat back on the bed. Briefly looking at her I explained, "Kiara, he's keeping something from us. He's not who you think he is. I know that sounds crazy but every time I'm around him I get this weird feeling. The feeling was almost overwhelming at the club." "What exactly are you feeling?" Kiara asked again focused intently on her magazine. "I don't know Kia. I just feel like something is inside me, almost like I can sense better. I know more. I'm more aware," I tried to describe it. "That's because you can and there is," Kiara replied casually. "What?" "Asena you must understand what I'm about to explain to you isn't going to make much sense at first," Kiara started. Impatiently I asked, "explain what Kia?" "Okay, I guess first it will probably be easiest to say, well uh, none of this is going to be easy," she stopped to take a deep breath. "Now I know you might not believe any of this at first but I'm going to need you to keep an open mind. Alright, so remember how you said you sensed something different about Wes and some people at the club?" Kiara waited until I nodded before she continued. "Well that's because they aren't human. Wesley, he's a Werewolf and majority of the people at that club were too." "Okay, I'm not saying I believe any of this but continue." "Well, me and you are Weres too," Kiara rushed out, "that's why you sensed them." "Kiara what? Stop playing around, I know you're not, because even if I could "sense" Weres like with Wesley; I've never sensed anything with you," I stated getting a little worked up. "Asena, calm down. That's because we are dormant right now. So you can't sense me because my wolf is suppressed, honestly with your wolf being bound you shouldn't even be able to sense any Were," Kiara said staring at me. "Okay, well why are we dormant then?" "Because of your parents," Kiara responded. "My parents, Erick and Tasha?" I asked more confused than ever. "Sena I know this is going to be hard to believe but they aren't your real parents. Your real parents were the High Alphas of America for hundreds of years. No other Alpha or pack came even close to their power," Kiara paused at she stood up and started pacing the room. "Well over time more Alphas started striving for power. Your parents, were the most giving, loving, and powerful Alphas in existence at the time. Many Alphas came to join up with them and in turn gained power through their loyalty. But others became jealous and sought ways to bring them down. As time went on enemy packs took in pack members that betrayed your parents." "If my parents were so powerful why didn't they just eliminate those against them?" I asked the most logical question I could think of. "Well, that's where you come in. Your parents for many years tried to have an heir. But for some reason they weren't able to produce a child. So in the years that followed and after many failed attempts they finally gave up hope of ever having their own child. Then with all the threats of war that came, it made sense to agree that the second in command would become the next Alpha in line. But unexpectedly the Madam Alpha became pregnant," Kiara stopped pacing to look at me, "with you," she paused again to let it sink in. "Your parents were built on love and peace. To use their power to destroy all their enemies was their last resort. With much counseling from the other High Alphas from around the world; including the Alphas Auway, Alphas Marchette, Alphas McFayden, and Alphas Desmond. The most powerful in all the world agreed that being the true heir to their power, all should be done to make sure you were protected. Only the Alphas most trusted were informed about Madam Alphas pregnancy. Wolf pregnancy of course doesn't take as long as humans, so four months later, Asenath Maria Achaia was brought into the world," Kiara stopped to collect herself. Everything was floating around my head at the moment, "well, continue. What happened to my parents?" I asked, my heart pounding a thousand miles per hour wondering about what truly happened to my real parents. "A few nights after you were born the Achaia Territory was attacked. No one knew if the attackers had known if you existed or not but that didn't matter. Your parents had a plan just in case it came to that. As soon as the enemies hit the territory you and your mother were to be flown to France to stay with the Desmond Pack. But the driver who was to transport you to the aircraft betrayed you and your mother had to fight. She was able to kill off the Were but was injured in the process. She ran as far as she could with you, she had no way to call for help not knowing who to trust anymore. But by some miracle, Erick, your adopted father found her near unconsciousness curled around you in wolf form to protect you. He knew he couldn't save her at this point. Your mother used the last ounce of power she had to beg him to care and protect you. And ever since then you've been living with them," Kiara finished before turning to look at me. "How did Erick hear her while she was in wolf form?" I asked wiping the tears from my face. "Erick and Tasha are Half-Weres. They can never truly shift but they can feel their wolf and sense better than most humans. And even if they weren't Weres, like I said your parents were the most powerful at the time and it took very little power to project a thought to a human if they wished." "Well, I have some idea of why I'm dormant now but why are you?" "Technically I am supposed to be a beta part of the Desmond Pack. Well not technically, my parents currently rank at second in command in their pack and as their daughter I would now rank as a beta. But when word came that you were alive, High Alpha Desmond decided it would be best to keep you a secret and used several of his own pack members to make it possible. Your name became Asena Davis rather than Asenath Achaia. But in my opinion, Asena is still quite obvious. Our freshman year in high school I had moved from France in order to keep an eye out for you along with my aunt and uncle," Kiara continued to explain. "Wait, what is a beta? And what is second in command?" I asked since I was still confused from when she'd mentioned it earlier. "Oh, sorry. Alpha is the highest rank in the pack, pretty much equivalent to a king. Next comes your second in command who is basically your High Beta, highest ranking among the betas, who are the warriors or fighters in the pack. But the second in command is basically considered the right hand man. And finally you have the omegas which includes the working class, who help keep the pack running. Without the omegas you don't have a pack. Some packs also have the theata rank that would consist of the middle class and then the omegas would be bumped down to the servants and working class. You understand better now?" Kiara asked. "I think so, but what's the difference between High Alpha and Alpha?" "There are many Alphas around the world but there are only a handful of High Alphas, occasionally called Elders. The High Alphas each have there own pack in which they are present with at all times but these Alphas possess an unique power which outranks them among the other Alphas," Kiara tried to help me understand. "Okay I understand now. So for the past seven years you have been living here protecting me? What about your parents? They just sent you away to watch me?" "They didn't just send me, I had my aunt and uncle with me at all times and we traveled back to France many times so I could be with them. But my parents are the High Betas and their duty was to be with the pack. I'm dormant because it was the safest way for me to be with you without drawing attention. The day you were born your parents bound your wolf to stay dormant until you become of the age that they chose or until they uplift the bounding. Mine is supposed to wear off within the year. But yours I'm unsure of. Maybe High Alpha Desmond knows. Perhaps we could ask him, if you really want to know. But look Asena I know this is a lot to take in but you have to believe me, this life is wonderful," Kiara tried to explain. "So my mother sacrificed her life for me?" "They both did. Your father stayed back fighting off any strays that tried to go after you guys." Everything started to clash in my head. 'Have I been living a complete lie. Did my parents really give up their lives for me.' I felt my heart tightening at the thoughts. 'And Kiara. To think that she too has been living a complete lie for me. Kia, my best friend, has sacrificed her life with her family to watch out for me.' "Kia-Kiara, I don't feel so good I-" I was cut short by a gut stabbing pain I felt in my stomach. "Asena?" Kiara called when she saw me abruptly grab my stomach. "Oh God, not now!" Kiara exclaimed as I fell to the floor in pain shaking. I couldn't control myself anymore, it was like someone else was in charge of my body. I ended up growling at Kia causing her to back away. The fire in my body began to feel like an inferno and I began seeing black spots invading my line of vision. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Third Person Ashton was finally taking a break from all the work that had piled up on his desk, when Wesley walked in. "Do you ever knock?" "Don't really see the point considering you knew I was coming," was Wesley's smartass response. "Ugh, whatever. I called you in to tell you that we will be heading back to the compound by weeks end," Ashton announced while moving some papers around on his desk. "Wait, what?" Wesley stated shocked. "The meeting is ending already? Does that mean the threat is gone?" Wesley continued firing off questions. "Wesley, you are second in command now, please try to at least act like you know what's going on," Ashton said while running a hand through his hair. "To answer the most important question, no, we have not come to a solution but all the Alphas agreed that its safest for all the packs, that the Alphas are present. Which is why we are leaving," Ashton finished. "Alright. Should I inform the pack of our return?" Wes asked turning serious at the news of return. "Yes, I would also like you to inform Trenton that I want the pack on full lock down before our return. Meaning all supplies and materials should be fully stocked and no one is to leave pack grounds until I otherwise tell them. The threat that has been killing off members of multiple packs seems to be looking for something and is showing no mercy. There's no way in hell I'm gonna let any member of my pack to be killed off by these rogues," Ashton growled, feeling his wolf coming to surface. "Okay, I'll call him right away. Do you think the Durken brothers at the club have anything to do with this?" Wesley asked seeing his alpha was battling his wolf. "They didn't say anything to make me think so, they seemed more interested in the girl I had wrapped around me. But my wolf seems to think their up to something, so we need to keep tabs on them for now," he ran his hands through his hair again, trying to find the peace he lost when this whole thing started. "Okay, well I'm going to go cal-" he was interrupted by his phone buzzing in his pocket. He pulled it out and realized it was Kiara. He had planned to let it go to voicemail but thought better of it. "Uh, yes Kiara?" Wesley answered sheepishly knowing his alpha was listening. "Wesley! Oh my God, thank goodness! You have to get here quick! It's Asena...s-she's s-s-s-" "Kiara, honey. Slow down. Breath, now tell me what's going on," Wes tried to calm her while glancing at Ashton, knowing full well that he could hear the conversation. "S-she's shifting!" Kiara yelled into the phone. "Kiara, what are you talking about?" Wesley asked, he heartbeat picking up a bit. "She's shifting into her wolf," Kiara whispered quietly through the phone. Wesley looked at the phone in disbelief. One reason was because he was shocked Kiara knew about Weres. But then again he should've noticed the signs now that he thoght about it. The second reason was the fact that Asena was shifting. How in the world did he miss that she was a Were? Wesley looked back over at Ashton, who was now walking toward him, his face hard as he grabbed the phone from Wesley. "Kiara? This is Ashton, what do you mean shifting into a wolf?" He didn't want to assume that they were talking about the same shifting. "Into a werewolf! Exactly what I said! Are you going to help or not?" Kiara yelled becoming agitated that they were asking so many questions. Ashton growled at her tone of voice toward him before saying, "We are on the way. I want you to stay on the phone with Wes and stay away from Asena. We don't know how much control Asena has over her wolf, so you could be in danger." Ashton handed the phone back to Wesley after hearing him growl at the thought of his mate being hurt. "Let's go." Ashton said grabbing his keys from his desk then rushing out the door with thousands of questions roaming through his head. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Third Person Kiara still sat there staring at Asena in unbelief. 'How could this be happening already?' She thought to herself. "Asena? Can you hear me? Asena, everything's going to be okay," Kiara said as she helplessly watched as she continuously cringed in pain. Just then Wesley and Ashton came bursting through the door. Immediately, Wes came over and pulled Kiara from Asena. "Are you alright? Are you hurt? Didn't we say to stay away from her? You could've been hurt!" Wes growled out, feeling his wolf coming close to the surface. "Wes, I'm fine but now is not the time to lose your temper. Asena is changing and needs help. And you, are you just going to stand there staring or are you going to help?" Kiara asked turning towards Ashton, who was still standing by the door with his eyes stuck on her Asena. "Alright Kia, we'll do what we can but stay over there," Wes said walking towards Sena before hearing a growl from his Alpha. 'Alpha, I know this is all very confusing but she needs help.' Wesley spoke through their telepathic bond before continuing towards her. 'Wesley, if you take one more step towards her I will rip your throat out,' Ashton growled at him before walking towards her himself. 'Ashton, I don't think that's the best idea your wolf is pretty close to surface,' Wes tried to reason while going towards her again. At that moment Ashton shifted into his wolf charging at Wesley, pinning him to the ground. 'MINE!' He growled through their bond, shocking Wes. He quickly raised his neck and submitted to his Alpha. After making sure Wes had truly submitted to him Ashton finally pushed his wolf back. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Kiara yelled running up to Ashton. "Kiara..." Wesley warned. "No! You think because you are the Alpha you can just go around acting like a fool. You could've hurt Sena with that little stunt!" Anger was radiating off of both Ashton and Kiara at this point. "I would never hurt her," Ashton said in such a calm voice making him more scary than if he was yelling. "Yeah, well that was some way to prove it," Kiara said under her breath. Ashton kneeled down next to Asena. The expression he made gave Kiara and Wesley the impression he could feel the pain she was going through. At the moment white fur was beginning to sprout out of her skin, right before she gave a piercing scream. "Can't you guys do something? Look at her! It's not supposed to be like this!" Kiara said trying to keep herself from hyperventilating. "There is nothing we can do now. If we had known earlier we could've given her something for the pain but it's too late now. The best thing we can do now is try to make her more comfortable," Ashton explained brushing his hand lightly against the fur growing on her face. "Okay, you can put her on the bed." "No, that's not the best idea. We don't know anything about her wolf, she could end up just shredding the bed apart," Wes said watching his Alpha show so much tenderness towards his mate. He was happy his Alpha found his mate after all this time, they truly believed he'd never find her. "Do you have some spare blankets? We can set up a pallet on the floor for her," Ashton said not taking his eyes off of his mate. "Yeah, I'll go get them," Kiara claimed before leaving the room to find the blankets. About twenty minutes after the never-ending pain, Asena had fully changed into a beautiful white wolf. "She's asleep for right now. I think her body was trying to reject her wolf so it caused her to have to use more strength than usual. She's probably going to be asleep for a good few hours. Which gives you plenty of time to explain exactly what's going on little missy," Ashton said staring down at Kiara. He hated having to watch his mate go through all that pain while unable to do anything. Not As Naive As You Think Ch. 03 "Okay, we should probably go to the living room so we don't disturb Sena though," Kiara suggested while turning towards the door. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ I hope the point of view changes wasn't too confusing. I really like first person for the main character because it really puts you in the eyes of the character but I also enjoy third person because it's great for giving you a feel of multiple characters. Sorry if it was too confusing I promise to get better. But anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
