The last meeting with the European vampire royals had taken a serious toll on him. They and debated with one another till three in the morning, not to mention they arrived there two days prior. Kai, one of Dimitri's closest allies had clearly dominated the meeting although Alexander, a clear enemy adeptly rebutted every argument Kai made. Dimitri sunk into the cushions of the car. He couldn't wait to get back to the hotel. "How much longer?" he asked his driver. "About two hours sir, you will probably want to take a nap." Dimitri sunk further into the soft cushions of his luxury car and closed his eyes. He closed his eyes only to open them again in agitation. He recalled the last topic that was discussed. What were the royals thinking when they had said they wanted to dispose of the werewolves? Had they any sense? If the royals couldn't recall, the Weres were the ones that got them out of the vampire hunting back in the middle ages. Without their influence in the human royal court, the killings would have continued, the oppression still there. The vampires had their liberation from the humans, well not full liberation, but at least the killings had stopped. Dimitri shrugged. Vampires were extraordinarily difficult to take down; they could easily rampage their way through a group of thirty to forty humans. But not when nearly a hundred of them came rushing at one vampire. He cringed. He remembered that day when he was caught in the midst of a large crowd pursuing a vampire. He was carrying a basket of bread back home to his mother when suddenly an enormous mob stormed past him. He was trampled on, kicked, beaten to near death. Dimitri immediately pushed the thought out of his mind. If it weren't for Kai who had saved him, Dimitri wouldn't be who he was today. Dimitri decided to check his email. It would still be two hours till he arrived in London. As he browsed through his ensemble of emails, one in particular caught his eye. He read the subject and immediately knew who had sent it to him. He smiled remembering that moment he spent with the woman. She was quite beautiful. He auburn hair that reached midway to her back, her beautiful body, and not to mention her exquisite facial features. Dimitri felt himself tense at the memory. A small smile crept onto his face. Yes, he definitely couldn't wait to get back to the hotel. After he finished reading the email, Dimitri decided to read others. He saw one from Kai. It was sent just seconds ago. Dimitri clicked on the email and waited. He felt his leg muscles tighten pushing down on the car and his heart start to beat faster. If it was sent over email, Dimitri could guess that Kai had something important to tell him but was unable to at the meeting. Finally the page loaded! Dimitri's eyes scanned his phone's bright screen reading the email. Dimitri, I just received a report that five vampires have been killed in London, England. I know you're headed there right now so try to get there as soon as possible. I sent you the address to your GPS, tell David, since I believe he's the one driving you right now, to take you there. I'll be there as well. The procedure for cleaning up will be the usual, but we may have to pull in some of the SVI's to investigate further. Can you send them in? It seems that I don't have the power to command them like you do, I guess they lie with the Crime and Services Director. Get back to me as soon as possible. Kai. By the way, Ryu has returned to England. He says he has a lot to tell us. Dimitri let out a sigh. "David," he called, "Did you get Kai's message?" "Yes, should I take you there?" David asked from the front seat. "Yes, as soon as possible." "Yes sir." Dimitri paused. How could have five vampires been killed in one night? Not to mention all in one city, all in one place. Dimitri definitely needed to call in the SVIs. Dimitri dialed a number onto his phone. "Hello," a voice answered, "This is Agent Five speaking." "T4300W," Dimitri said into the phone. The voice paused. "Hello Dimitri," it replied on the other side of the phone. "Freya, send it a group of five agents to Kai. Call him to find where he is, he should be somewhere close to London. I don't care if he isn't there yet; follow the car if you have to. Use the motorcycles, they'll get you there quicker." "Roger," Freya replied. Dimitri hung up. He wondered if he should have taken up the position of Crime and Services Director. The job was exhilarating. It wasn't just Europe that he had to watch, but all of Asia, The Americas too, Australia and finally the other vampires in Antarctica. Dimitri wondered how Ryu, another one of his close friends managed to be the vampire prime minister of Asia, watch over a business, and at the same time be on the Council Board of the vampire world. Dimitri's phone rang. He looked at the number. It was Ryu. "Hello," Dimitri answered. "Dimitri, I suppose you heard about the killings?" Ryu asked. "Yes," Dimitri replied. He frowned. "There were five." Ryu paused. "Five, hmm, that's an exceedingly large amount. We've never even dealt with three killings, but now we have five?" "It's worrisome." "Do you think we should bring this up at the Council Board tomorrow?" "Tomorrow?" Dimitri asked, "When was there a meeting scheduled for tomorrow?" Ryu scoffed, "You represent all of Europe at the Board, I would have thought you knew Mr. Prime Minister of Europe." "I didn't receive anything!" Dimitri protested. Ryu laughed on the other side of the line, "I sent you an email smartass, don't tell me it didn't go through." Dimitri put the phone down. He grabbed his laptop that was under his seat, logged onto his email and saw that Ryu had indeed sent him an email. Dimitri picked the phone up. "Oh," he replied. Ryu laughed. "Age is catching up to you Ancient one." "You're not any younger yourself," Dimitri rebutted. "Anyways, the meeting is at 11 o' clock tomorrow, at night of course." "I assumed so." "Okay, I'll see you in London." "Later." He waited for Ryu to disconnect then placed his phone down. Dimitri was closed his eyes. He still had at least another hour to sleep. -------------------------------------------------- Hello everyone, This is my first submission. Thanks for reading. All feedback/comments is appreciated. Also there will be more about the characters. Thanks again, Writingfanatic Darkest Temptations Ch. 02 Alera sprinted down the street. Her hair whipped behind her as she flew by the closed stores. Five vampires. How had she, a vampire herself, just seen five vampires murdered right before her eyes? Yes, she supposed they could have been Newborns, but still five vampires? She thought back to how the vampires moved, how they fought. No, they couldn't be Newborns. Whoever had killed them had murdered them with a certain goal in mind, a driving force. Perhaps it was an Ancient. Alera felt chills go down her back. Everyone knew the Ancients were powerful but they never unmasked their power in public, it was always hidden. Alera stopped. The Ancients. She recalled the last time she was with an Ancient. He was fearless, respectable, rich, powerful, and yet he was a psychopath. He had tried to enslave her, to bind her to him. Alera remembered the black prison, the chains that bore into her skin leaving bruises on her arms and legs for weeks after. She remembered that dark, handsome face that came to her every night. She lived like that for ten years. Ten years she suffered under his tormenting until she finally escaped. Alera had run away during the day. The guards were on a break and since Alera had serviced the Ancient, Laocles, that night they thought she was too weak to even move. Alera felt a smirk sneak its way onto her face. They had completely underestimated her. With Laocles out of the country Alera knew she had to take this opportunity to escape. She yearned for the dark night to liberate her, the wind brush past her skin, her feet skimming the ground as she ran. She hated the prison, she despised it. When Laocles had heard of her escape he sent not one, not two, not even one-hundred men after her but nearly three hundred men after her. Once heard the news Alera knew she had was in the deepest pit of her life. The fact still astounded her. She wondered how she ever got away. Ah, then she remembered. Laocles had been killed by another Ancient, Alexander who felt that Laocles was becoming too involved in the human world. Although no one knew at the time why Laocles had sent so many men, Alexander could guess. After all, Alexander had been around for nearly three thousand years, and he had known Laocles for a very long time. Alera loved the night. She was a creature of the night. She felt free and - what was that? She suddenly smelt a sweet aroma just behind her. She heard a gun cock. "Hand's up," a voice said. Alera tried to play meek. "I know what you are creature." Alera listened to the voice. It was deep and extremely melodious. She relaxed. There was no human that could possess that kind of voice. "Don't try to pretend that I can't smell you too, the gun is unnecessary." "You are an Elder, no doubt you can take me on," the voice replied. Alera turned around. The vampire that was holding the gun was―. Alera laughed. The Newborn's face remained unchanging. Alera continued laughing. "You know," she said after she finished laughing, "Have you even thought about how you look? A vampire with a gun? Now come on, that's like Captain America with a sword!" "I don't care what you say, I'm keeping it here." Alera sighed. Then in less than a second the gun was gone, unloaded and broken in half. Alera waited for a moment to let the Newborn understand what had just happened. She waited. Then she saw the Newborn meet her gaze. "Don't fuck with me," she said in all seriousness. Alera turned to walk away but then heard someone to command her to stop. Alera sniffed the air. She froze. It was an Ancient. "Turn around," the voice commanded. Alera stood there. She nearly smiled. The man had a very sexy voice. Deep, though not too deep, melodious, luring, not to mention smooth. "I said turn around." Almost annoyed, Alera turned around. She nearly gawked. What was Dimitri Marinescu doing here? He was the Vampire Prime Minister of Europe! Oh, then she remembered he was also the director of the Crime and Services branch in the vampire world. Yes, now it made sense to her why he was here. Alera remained calm. She knew her own secret about being an agent; but no one, not ever Freya her closest friend knew. "Ah," Dimitri said, "An Elder." Alera bit her lip. Dimitri was extremely handsome even for a vampire. He had dark brown hair with golden-hazel eyes. His nose was perfectly matched with his cheekbones and facial structure. Alera eyed his body. She knew that there was only muscle underneath that confining suit he was wearing. Alera snapped back to the present. If Dimitri had noticed her staring at him he did a good job of hiding it. "Come with me," Dimitri commanded. Alera still stood her ground. "I know you're not the killer," Dimitri stated, "Killers don't stare at their captors as if they wanted to ravish them right on the spot." Alera's eyes widened. "I did not such thing!" Dimitri smirked. He walked over to her. Leaning in he whispered, "If you want to keep standing here be my guest but when I demand something I want it done." With that Dimitri hoisted Alera into his arms and walked down the street where she came from, turned left, and down the subway stairs. While Dimitri carried her he felt her body muscles tense at their contact. Typically Dimitri would smirk but she had the same effect on him. As she was wearing a pair of shorts, no doubt she decided to go out for a run, her legs brushed up against Dimitri's arms. He nearly moaned from how soft they were. Although he knew vampires were in excellent shape, Alera had a very fit body. He could feel the lean yet not evident muscle. Instinctively he pictured her strong legs wrapped around his torso. Dimitri tried not to pull her closer but he did. Alera felt the shift and looked up at Dimitri. His hazel eyes avoided contact with her green eyes. Alera remained still. "Dimitri!" a voice called. Dimitri looked down into the subway, "Ryu, is Kai here yet?" "Yes, who are you carrying? A dead human, I hope-" Ryu stopped talking. "An Elder?" Dimitri heard the smile in Ryu's voice. "She is very beautiful is she not?" Alera struggled to free herself from Dimitri's strong arms. "Let me go," she said glaring at him. Dimitri dropped her. However Alera didn't fall but landed smoothly on her feet and swung down to do the classic kick. Her leg collided with Dimitri's legs and she saw him start to fall. But just as he was able to hit the floor Dimitri used one arm to prop himself up and then double tripped Alera. She growled at him. Suddenly she was starting to like this fight. It seemed Dimitri was getting more interested too. As Dimitri dodged Alera's attack he couldn't help feel a sort of smug satisfaction that she wasn't just ignoring him now. Wait. What was he thinking! Alera planted a punch on his shoulder. Dimitri felt himself take a step back. Concentrate, concentrate, he tried to tell himself but couldn't concentrate. Alera socked him again. This time in the stomach. He couldn't stop himself from thinking about it. He had just been happy that she, whatever her name was, wasn't ignoring him? Dimitri groaned. Alera had stopped throwing punches at Dimitri. She heard him groan but he and her as well as everyone else in the room knew Dimitri wasn't that weak. "Stop pretending like you're hurt," Alera snapped. Dimitri looked at Alera. Alera nearly took a step back. Why was he looking at her like that? He looked almost vulnerable! But then just as he had appeared to be vulnerable, Dimitri regained his regular composure. "You are a good fighter, Elder," he said. "You didn't have to tell me that. I know I am." Dimitri grinned. Feisty, he thought. Dimitri liked it. "Stay here," he told her, "If I find you gone, I will chase after you." "In hell I would," Alera rebutted and with that she ran off. Dimitri had no chance of grabbing her arm. She was simply too quick. "Dimitri, hurry up and get over here!" Dimitri heard Kai call. "I'm coming!" he exclaimed rushing over to the crime scene. He would get that girl back later. -------------------------------------------------- Thanks for reading. All comments are appreciated. Writingfanatic Darkest Temptations Ch. 03 "Have you found her yet?" Dimitri asked on the phone. "Yes sir," the man replied, "We have a clear sighting of her right now." Dimitri thought for a moment. "Describe what she looks like." The man paused. "Well, she has dark brown auburn-ish hair." "Yes go on," Dimitri urged. "Umm, I'm going to get closer. ... Okay, she's very attractive." "I know that." "She has fair skin with clear blue eyes. Her face is very symmetrical and she is very elegant and beautiful." Dimitri smiled. Yes, she was beautiful. Classy he would say but not if she still had that temper of hers. "Good, bring her over to the hotel." "Yes sir." Dimitri hung up. He had tried to tell himself that he was only trying to find her because she had seen the killings but something within him knew that he was only lying to himself. Last night, at the Council Board meeting, when he brought up the killings all the members seemed very shocked. Everyone consented to have an immediate investigation. Dimitri got up and lay down on his bed. Living in a suite wasn't as bad as he had thought. Everything was close but adequately spaced so that the room didn't seem cramped; he had no need for a kitchen anyways. A knock sounded on the door. "Come in," Dimitri said. A tall man with a black suit walked in with two other men following behind him and a girl in between them. Dimitri glanced towards them. Yes, that was the girl. She looked delightfully quite angry. "Good, thank you. You are excused," Dimitri told the men in black. After they left the room Dimitri sat up and stared at the girl. He noted that he still didn't know what her name was. As he eyed her he couldn't help noticing her long, slender legs. The same image of having her legs wrapped around his torso popped into his mind again. Dimitri looked away. What was he thinking? "What do you want with me?" the girl asked. Dimitri was forced to look back at the girl. "I wanted to interrogate you." The girl scoffed. "I didn't know that the vampire prime minister of Europe did interrogations in his bedroom." Dimitri stood up and walked towards her. "I only do interrogations in my bedroom for certain people," he said gently tracing her jawline. The girl jerked her face away. "Hurry up and ask me questions then." "I like to take my time," Dimitri replied stepping forward. He wanted to get closer to her. Meanwhile Alera had no clue why Dimitri had called her to his bedroom. She didn't think he actually wanted to interrogate her but he couldn't possibly be thinking of having sex with her. "I am serious," Alera said, "What do you want?" Dimitri looked into Alera's clear blue eyes. "I want to know your name." Alera paused. "Alera. Alera is my name." "Mmm," Dimitri commented, "What a beautiful name." Alera turned away from him and walked over to the opposite side of the room which was near his bed. Wrong move. Within the second Dimitri had Alera pinned down on his bed. "Get off of me," she demanded glaring into his eyes. Dimitri his body tense. "I don't think I can," he replied huskily. Alera pushed him off. For a moment she was in shock. His chest had felt so good against her hands, she had actually wanted to hold him closer. No doubt his body was impressive. She shook the thought from her head. "I don't care who you are Dimitri Marinescu, prime minister or not. I am not your toy." Alera lifted her chin up to further emphasize her point. "You really don't care?" Dimitri asked approaching the bed again. "I don't care." Dimitri frowned. "You know I think you're missing the whole picture here. Think about this. If you were to be with me even for a little while imagine all the riches and luxuries you would be surrounded with. There is so much that I can offer you." Alera glared at Dimitri. "Do I look like some money hungry bitch? I don't need you, I don't want you." "You don't want me?" he asked raising an eyebrow. Now that was interesting. "What if I was your mate?" Alera nearly fell off the bed. Her? Dimitri's mate? Who was he kidding? "I'm not your mate." "Mm, but you don't know that do you?" he asked getting onto the bed. "I'm not here to discuss mating issues with you. I'm not even slightly interested in sleeping with y-you." Alera could barely finish her sentence. She looked at Dimitri hoping that he didn't hear her stammer. She was wrong. A small grin had appeared on his handsome face. "Yes, as if I would believe that," he said placing his arms one each side of her body. Alera didn't dare shift her gaze. Fine, if he wanted to play with her then she would play with him. Alera sat up and wrapped her arms around Dimitri's neck. She placed a soft kiss behind his ear. Alera felt Dimitri still. At first she thought she had finally got to him but suddenly his lips were on her neck trailing kisses up to her lips. There he kissed her lightly at first but then kissing started to intensify. Alera felt Dimitri's arousal and she wrapped her legs around him, pulling him closer. Dimitri groaned. He reached down and started to stroke one of Alera's legs. Fuck, her legs were so smooth, so soft. Dimitri's hand went back up and grabbed Alera's ass. He started to feel the strong need to get her naked. "Take your shirt off," he muttered to her. Alera ignored him. "Take it off," he repeated as he couldn't tear his lips away from hers. Alera continued to ignore him. "I gave you your chance," he growled. With that Dimitri's pulled Alera up and ripped her shirt off of her. Alera gave a small growl. Immediately she reached for Dimitri's shirt. "Not yet, I want to see you first." "Yeah right," she brushed off. However her hands only got to where his collar was. "Don't make me keep repeating myself," he said in a husky whisper. Alera tried to free her hands from his tight grip but he only them tighter. Alera gave a small laugh, "You like what you see?" she asked noticing his hot gaze on her breasts. Dimitri looked up into her eyes. Alera nearly moaned from how sexy he looked. Her eyes scanned over his face, studying every single detail. She noticed a small scar next to his eyebrow. She was pleased with herself that she could see such minuscule details; but then her job did require her to observe such things. Her gaze then lowered to study his lips. Suddenly she saw his fangs start to elongate. Alera froze. "Get off of me!" she screamed shoving him off of the bed. Dimitri turned around. When he turned back around Alera noticed that his fangs were gone. "Sorry," he muttered. "Get me a shirt," she demanded. Dimitri's eyes paused to stare at the breasts he could have just now been holding. "Now," she said in a harsh almost cruel tone. Dimitri didn't bother to scold her for her informal way of speaking to him, he was wrong and he knew it. They hadn't even had sex yet and he wanted to mate with her? Dimitri walked over to his closet and pulled scanned the many shirts he had. Without thinking Dimitri grabbed his white shirt and tossed it to her. Alera caught it and looked at the expensive material. "Are you kidding me?" she asked, "What the fuck are you thinking? Are you trying to see my black bra?" Dimitri was dumbfounded. He had to get a hold of himself. He turned around and this time threw her one of this dark grey-blue button up shirts. It felt short of the bed. Dimitri was going to retrieve it for Alera but she commanded him to stay where he was. Slowly she bent down, unknowingly providing an amazing view of her breasts to Dimitri. Meanwhile Alera kept her eyes on Dimitri the whole time. When she finally picked up the shirt she slowly slipped it on still cautious of Dimitri. Dimitri let out a sigh and turned around. "I'm done," Alera called to him. He turned back around. An awkward silence followed. "I'm sorr―" "If you're sorry, I don't want to see you ever again," she told him, "All I know about the deaths is that the five of them were Elders, the one that killed them was an Ancient. He had to be an Ancient." Dimitri raised an eyebrow. Not bad for a vampire who wasn't in any special investigations units. Wait, Dimitri thought, Perhaps Alera was in some investigation unit. Then had she been playing him the whole time? "I don't work for anyone if that's what you're thinking Alera told Dimitri almost as if she had read his mind. "How do you earn a living then?" "I've blackmailed about seventeen millionaires and demanded thirty plus million from each; I think I'm good to go for the next hundred thousand years." Dimitri's jaw nearly dropped. "Blackmail? That's very clever." "I figured I had to do something with my brain, it wasn't that challenging," Alera brushed off. A knock interrupted their conversation. "Who the hell would―" Dimitri was cut off. A woman walked into the room. She was tall and very fit, very beautiful. "Who is she?" Alera asked Dimitri. The woman glanced towards Alera. She noticed Dimitri's shirt on the girl and then quickly looked at the bed. Immediately she knew what had happened― the rumpled sheets, the ripped shirt that lay on the floor, the girl wearing Dimitri's shirt. "Were you cheating?" The woman's voice faltered on the last word. "Mariah, let me explain," Dimitri protested taking a step forward. He could nearly feel the rage building inside of the woman. "No, don't come near me!" Mariah screamed losing all previous control. Alera scoffed. Both of them turned to look at her. "Dimitri, I didn't know you were like this. What a bastard. I definitely don't want to see you again." Alera peeked back at her shirt; there was no way she could repair that. "Also take this fucking shirt back, I don't want it," she said hurling Dimitri's blue-grey button-down at the bed. Alera walked over to Mariah. "Give me your shirt." "What?" Mariah asked. "Give it to me," Alera asked again, this time glaring dangerously at the woman. If she wouldn't give her the fucking shirt so she could get out of this place Alera knew it wouldn't be long before she would beat the shit out of Dimitri. Realizing the danger the woman quickly stripped out of her shirt and handed it over to Alera. "Thanks," Alera murmured. She put it on and moved around. The shirt fit comfortably enough. Before leaving Alera stole a quick glance into the mirror, she could see her bra. Oh well, Alera thought, better than Dimitri's shirt anyways. As Alera walked towards the door she threw two punches at Dimitri, one in the stomach and the other underneath his jaw. "Did you have to punch me?" Dimitri muttered. Alera stared at him. "Don't kid yourself." Alera stormed out of the room and slammed the door. She also ripped the door handle off the door. "You're going to have to fix the fucking door handle!" she screamed back at him. Alera threw the handle down at the carpet floor and saw it bounce once then twice. All she wanted to do was get out of this hotel. The elevator would take at least two minutes; stairs would be faster for Alera. What was he thinking, Alera thought. If he was in another relationship with a woman why the hell was he trying to sleep with her? Alera snarled and clenched her fists. She would have to go for a run tonight. After a few seconds Alera reached the ground floor. She opened the door that led to the lobby, walked through the lobby, and out the main entrance. She took a left, walked down a street and when it was relatively quiet with few cars and people around, Alera broke into a sprint. If she ran fast enough she would be nearly invisible. As Alera felt the wind whip past her she breathed in the London air. Of all the places she lived and traveled Alera felt that London was her favorite. The capital was so grand and so full of history, even with the vampires. Alera loved history. She ran for a good ten minutes before she reached her penthouse. Although Alera considered it more of a vacation home, she liked it better than her own home in the US. Inside Alera climbed the stairs and did a quick check on her phone. She noticed one of her colleagues had called her. Alera tapped on the contact and the phone dialed to her colleague. "Alera?" Jessica answered on the other side of the phone. "Yes Jessica, was there anything urgent?" "Yes, the President wants you back in D.C. We think we have a tail on Bin Laden." "What?" Alera exclaimed, "Are you serious?" "Yes, since we can't send you to where he is because of all the sun and how damaging it would be to you maybe you can help us plot out the task." "Roger, I'll be there in about two and a half hours." "See you then," Jessica replied before hanging up. Alera paused. As the deputy director of the CIA for nearly twenty years there were only a select few who knew of her existence as a vampire within the United States government. It was a job that no vampire in the world could know of. She didn't even want to know what would happen to her if any vampire found out she was working with humans, not to mention letting them know of her existence. To this day Alera still didn't know why she continued to work for the CIA; perhaps it was because she found humans to be so interesting. She did in a way care for them as she had been one herself but after living for more than a thousand years she should have gotten over her past by now right? Oh well, Alera thought, there were more pressuring matters to think of as of now. Alera called the London Heathrow Airport. "How may I help you?" a woman answered. "Can you prepare Jet 05TAUS for me?" Alera asked "Yes, password please?" "111664ML." "Okay, it will be ready in about thirty minutes." "No problem." Osama Bin Laden. Ha, Alera thought, finally after nearly ten years of hunting the bloody man down they had found them. It wasn't that she hated the man, but did it really take the CIA ten years to find one sole man? If they had sent her like she offered they would have found the man within the year of the bombing. She knew the language, she could dress as one of them― it was just the skin that was the problem. Alera was too fair; her vampire skin wouldn't be able to take all the sun from where Bin Laden was from. As Alera started plotting out how the assassination would go, or so she assumed it would be an assassination, she recalled the specialized helicopters the CIA had been building for some time now. After all Alera had funded nearly half of the project. Alera knew that it would take her an hour or more if she decided to drive to the airport so Alera decided to run. She opened up her closet and picked out a pair of good running shoes, switched out her black laced bra for a sporty Adidas coral colored bra, a pair of running shorts and a light blue shirt. After she finished changing Alera quickly grabbed the most important things for her traveling use and a new change of clothes and stuffed them all into her training black backpack. Before she left Alera put a hat on and literally tied it right below her chin to keep it from falling off. With that Alera left her penthouse and ran to the airport. She would be there within twenty five minutes. ------------------------------------------ Hey everyone, I tried to make this chapter longer, its about twice of the usual length. I am trying to make them longer. I also want to thank you all for leaving very helpful comments. I do read them and I appreciate the thought that is put behind them. Again, thanks for reading and hope you enjoy. All comments and feedback are appreciated. Writingfananitc PS: I've decided to post the little notes in the beg now because you guys probably want to know how long it is... as i not reputed to be a very extensive writer. Thanks~ -------------------------------------------------- Alera rushed past the security at the London Heathrow Airport. The guards had easily succumbed to her mental prowess as she plowed through their minds. Going through the whole process would have been exhilarating. "Miss, your connection and headset are in the pilot seat," a woman told her. "Ah, yes," Alera remarked, "I wondered where they have been." The woman gave a small chuckle. "We'll be waiting for your take off at Control Room 1192." "Got it." Alera finished speaking with the woman and eyed her jet. Yes, she thought, it was the epitome of jets. Well she had to give herself credit. Who wouldn't be able to design such a beauty after studying aero-dynamics for nearly a hundred and fifty years? Alera smiled, that was the amazing thing about living forever. She was able to study all sorts of fields and areas of the human world. Education was simple, it was what kept Alera sane while she didn't need to unnecessarily involve herself with vampire state matters. "Testing, testing," she said into the microphone as she sat in the pilot seat. "Roger, you can take off in fifteen seconds. Are you ready?" "Yes," Alera replied, "And I'm taking route 482CCA right?" "Yes," the woman who she had been talking to previously replied, "Okay take off in 5-4-3-2-1." Alera drove the jet forward. Slowly she felt the pressure start to build up as her body pushed against the chair or her jet. Within a few seconds Alera was off the ground and in the air. Immediately she put the jet on auto-pilot. Unlike the human auto-pilot system, Alera's system was eons more advanced than theirs. Somehow during last year Alera had managed to invent a system that mimicked the abilities of a vampire and with her blood the jet would function just as perfectly as if she were driving it that very moment. Alera couldn't help smiling at her achievement. Although the US government knew of her supernatural abilities they never dared to cross her, after all she was from England so that didn't really help with the American patriotic sense that they wished she had. Alera kept the headset on just for safe-keeps; she didn't want any trouble coming out of an accident. Alera got up from her seat and checked the amount of time she had left before she reached D.C. The positioning system she built said a she had a little more than an hour. Alera got up, careful not to bump her head against the glass ceiling of the jet. She walked behind the chair and punched in a code on the back side of it. A small door opened from behind her. Alera got down on her arms and knees and crawled through the cramped, narrow corridor. She only had to crawl for a few seconds before she got up again. From the back of the jet Alera had a much better view of the landscape beneath her. As London became smaller and smaller, the verdant landscape of England started to appear. The natural beauty of England started to come out. It never ceased to astound her. From that high up all she could see was the lush of the green trees and grandeur of the mountains. There was nothing like the wildlife. Even though Alera had been in love with nature for nearly two thousand years she still loved it and would for as long as she would live. While Alera sat there her thoughts started to drift towards Dimitri. He was sexy, she would give him that, not just sexy but incredibly sexy. But, she told herself, a cheating bastard doesn't deserve any woman on the face of the plant. Alera frowned; she hoped that he wouldn't come looking for her. But then again, she doubted he even knew her real name so it would be impossible to find her. Alera could only hope he didn't get a hold of one of her fingerprints. Now that would be troublesome. Alera sat back against some of her cushions in her secret compartment and picked up her notebook. She flipped through it reading all the notes she took on old investigations. Ah, that's right Alera would have to start planning the mission for Bin Laden. Alera moved away from her cushions and lifted them up. She placed her hand directly on the floor which was previously covered up by the cushions. A square appeared on the floor, lighting up a bright blue and a number touchpad came up. 05081803. Her birthday. The panel opened and Alera reached in taking out her laptop. That too was her creation. She never wanted to share her secrets because she was afraid of getting too much publicity. The hectic lifestyle she would have to live, along with all the humans she would have to be around. It sounded like societal obligation to her. Anyways, Alera brushed off, Apple doesn't even compare to me so it doesn't really matter. She flipped open the seventeen inch laptop and logged onto her account. First she placed her two thumbs on the side of the screen. When it lit white Alera took her thumbs off and then stared into her webcam. Afterwards she typed in her extensively long password. It was the whole alphabet but scrambled in some random order that she had somehow managed to memorize. Her laptop had over 2TB of memory so she stored everything on it. She had a duplicate computer at home which automatically updated everything she did and had a flash drive that did the same. Then from her phone she could access the flash drive or either computer. Technology made life so much easier. As she created a new document Alera's phone started to ring. She answered on her computer, plugging in a pair of earphones. "Hello?" she asked. The caller ID had surprisingly not shown up. "Alera?" a familiar voice asked. Alera froze. Her mind nearly shattered. No, no, no, she repeated, this couldn't be happening. No! Her voice screamed at her. "What do you want?" she inquired as fear gripped ever fiber in her body. "You know what I want," the voice replied. "No Laden, we both agreed never to see each other again." Alera's voice hardened. "I never wanted to see you again." "Alera," he said into the phone, his smooth, milky voice carrying over, "I'm not a monster, you know that. I just lost control that one time." "That one time? Don't give me bullshit! You killed my whole fucking family! Both you and I knew that they would have recognized me one way or the other when I saw them at that vampire meeting, but no you fucking killed them! My brother, my sister, my mother, my father, hell you even killed my two cousins who were there with them!" Alera's chest heaved up and down. How dare this bastard call her? How the fuck did he even get her number? Laden paused. "I know what I did was wrong, but Alera―" "Shut up!" Alera screamed. Her hands gripped the sides of her computer so hard that the computer started to deform underneath. "Don't give me fucking excuses!" "Alera!" Laden yelled through the phone, "Just calm down and let me explain!" "There nothing to e―" "Shut up!" Laden roared. Alera cringed. She remained silent. "Gosh, you're the same as ever, you always make me repeat myself." "Get to the point," she snapped. "It's been nearly fifteen hundred years, can't you forgive me?" Alera didn't answer. "Well then I'm begging you to listen to me." This time Alera rebutted. "I don't want to listen to your romance shit that you're about to say. I know what you're going to say. I haven't thought about you at all since you killed my family. Why can't you just leave me the damn alone? You have your own human girls to feed off of. Fuck, you can probably even steal every single vampire's mate on Earth if you wanted to. So just get away from me!" Laden remained quiet. "I'm not going to bother saying it, you know what I want." Alera closed her eyes. "Get over it Laden, I'm busy with my own life." With that Alera hung up. A second later Alera broke down. Sobs shook her whole body as she remembered the painful memory of her family's death. She had just been called as a reporter to the vampire press conference. Her parents who had some dealings with the vampires were invited but paused before entering the room. They saw Alera with Laden who was, like now, chasing after her. However at that time they had been friends. As soon as Alera had been able to get rid of Laden she turned and saw the shocked faces of her family. Alera had been missing for five years. It was her younger sister who approached them first. "Alera?" the girl whispered. Alera froze. Then in a fleeting moment she collapsed on the floor and hugged the small frame of her sister. She felt a small tear drop onto her skin. The two sisters stayed there together each soaking in the moment. Suddenly a hand touched her arm. Alera looked up and saw her father. "We thought you had g-gone." A small sob came out from him. Alera stood up. How much had her father aged in the last five years? Still he seemed so forgiving even after that last troublesome problem that came up. He had always been forgiving. "Why didn't you come back?" her brother asked. Alera looked back at him. He got much taller and more muscular. "I couldn't remember anything, all I had were memories of your faces and events. I couldn't do anything." Her brother walked over to her and gave her a hug. Suddenly a growl out of nowhere sounded. "What was that?" her brother asked. "Get away from her," the voice demanded. Alera whipped around. Then before she could move Laden attacked her brother. He ripped out his throat and clawed out his eyes. "David!" her father screamed trying to reach for his dead son. In a flash her father fell dead too. Her mother screamed but was silenced midway by Laden. Alera ran to her sister and held her. Laden approached them. His eyes had turned fully red and his fangs completely protruding. Her sister started crying. Laden grinned. "Get away Laden," Alera commanded. Laden blinked for a moment. Alera didn't buy it. She lunged at him and went for his eyes. They would take the longest to heal. Alera seemed to have only gotten one. As they fought her sister had been taken by another vampire. Releasing her grip Alera tried to catch the other vampire but Laden beat her to it. The last thing her sister saw was Alera reaching out to her trying to keep Laden from ripping off her sister's head. Alera shook with sobs. Laden. She knew within herself that he wasn't evil, he just lost it like any other vampire. But still she blamed him. He didn't have to kill her whole family. If he had really been that possessive then he would have just killed her brother. Still the pain of knowing that her family died because of her made her never want to have a family again. No one, she vowed would ever be able to touch her heart again. No one. As Alera dried up her tears she wondered how long she had sat there crying. Turning back to the main compartment of her jet Alera checked how much time was left before her descent. Thirty one minutes, twenty two seconds, and four milliseconds. Alera rushed back to her hidden room and cleaned everything up. She then closed the door, made sure it was sealed and went back to sit on the pilot seat. She scanned the skies for any other signs of aircrafts. None in sight. Alera did a quick check on her jet. It too saw nothing Suddenly Alera's phone rang. Hmm, she thought, she must have built her jet very well. So well that its implanted antenna that hacked into the phone server caught the signal and sent it to her phone. "Hello," Alera answered, "Jessica how are you?" "Alera, we need you here quick. Someone was able to hack into our server. It's starting to breach level 5 of the security that holds all of the ECPs (Extremely Classified papers). "Shit! Are you serious?... Okay, I'll pick up my speed, be there in about five." Alera hung up and sped up her jet up. It took thirty seconds to get her rocket engine started and then the rest of the time to get there. As Alera approached the base she typed in her password and she was granted access. She adeptly landed her jet as the rest of the US Army that was stationed there gawked in amazement at her innovativeness. Alera grabbed her backpack and shouted out orders for her jet to be cleaned up and re-fueled. Afterwards she headed over to the main building of the CIA Headquarters. "Please verify your identity," a guard said stepping in front of Alera. "Don't be ridiculous," Alera snapped, "I don't have time to go through all those security checks. You know who I am." "I know but I still need you to verify your id―" Alera walked off and tore a thick metal pole straight out of the ground. She ripped off the top portion of it and scrunched the hard metal into a small ping pong sized ball. "Good enough for you?" she asked. "I thought so." Alera ran off knowing that trying to pass through all the indoor security was going to take forever.. Everyone would recognize her anyways. Hmm, level 5 security breach, she thought. The hacker must have been very impressive. Alera thought about what level the main office was on. Ah, she remembered, it was the fourth level of the six floors they had. Room number... she thought... oh well, she could just sniff out Jessica, it wouldn't be too hard. Alera sprinted off down the long cemented pathway that led to the entrance of the CIA. She saw guards step out of the actual building. Alera took a sharp left before they could even call to her. She rounded to the right and then jumped onto the glass windows. She climbed adeptly each floor one by one. First, second, and third. Finally on the fourth Alera sniffed through the windows trying to pick out Jesscia's scent. She found it. Alera swung back and broke through the glass. Several people came running out, guns raised. "Tell Jessica I'm here," Alera commanded. One person left and the rest of the guns dropped down. Alera quickly kicked all the glass to one side and then ran down the hallways. She heard Jessica screaming as she approached. "Where the fuck is she if she's not here right now in this fucking room?" "Jessica, calm the fuck down. I'm here," Alera interrupted. She saw the man retreat into the corner. "Thanks man," Alera said. "Hey Jessica, so where's the computer that you guys have." "You," Jessica said to a younger man, "Get off." "And he was?" "Oh, he was the sub before you." "Ah," Alera replied, "I see." Alera sat down and took a look at the codes on the computer. "Oooo," she stated, "It's not looking too good right now." "Can you fix it?" "Mm, it's difficult..." "What?" "It's difficult for the average person, but not difficult for me!" Alera's fingers danced across the keyboard battling with the other person who was trying to hack into the system. Her hands moved so fast that the sound of the keys sounded like a humming sound. "Done!" Alera exclaimed. "Really?" Jessica asked almost too gleefully. "Yeah, I also upgraded the whole system up. Haha, actually the hacker can't get out now. He's going to have to buy a new computer and destroy the one he's using right now. Once the connection is lost I'll upgrade level 5." "Whew," Jessica breathed out, "I thought Director would yell at me again." "Again?" Alera asked. "Yeah, earlier I almost got caught in crossfire on the way to work." "Shouldn't he be warning you to be careful?" "You know how he is." "Yeah." Alera paused, "Hey I'm going to see where this hacker is okay? We'll see if I can hack onto his computer and somehow access his webcam without him knowing. We'll do it via internet." "Want your laptop?" "No," Alera replied, "Get me the CIA laptop that I use." It arrived a minute later. Alera opened up the laptop and started typing furiously away. Unlike her own laptop, the CIA laptop was limited to only typing passwords and codes to get through the security system. "Connector 43USK," Alera asked for holding out a hand. Jessica handed it to her. Alera double checked the piece of equipment before she connected the previous computer to her CIA laptop. "Let's get a map visual first," Alera said. Jessica leaned in. "Shit!" Alera cursed, "I forgot how to get the map visual!" "Try Google Earth," Jessica suggested. "Oh yeah, that's right." Alera accessed Google Earth and then used the 43USK connector to find the location of the computer since the hacker was still trapped on level 5 of the security. "That's strange," Alera remarked, "It's coming from London." "Didn't you just come from London?" "Yeah," Alera replied, "I'm going to see if I can access their webcam." A few minutes passed until it turned into an hour, then another hour, and finally three hours. "Oh my fucking gosh," Alera screamed, "Why is it so hard to get into their computer system!" "Wait," Jessica said, "What's that?" A small icon had appeared on the computer toolbar. Alera clicked it. Suddenly faces came into view. Strange, the room looked somewhat familiar. Then it hit her. Alera couldn't believe it. No, Alera refused to believe it. What were they doing there? How would Jessica react? That place was where she had just been. No, she couldn't tell Jessica that she had been there. That room. For a moment all time froze for her. Then whatever was said next sent Alera spiraling into the darkness even further. "Dimitri, I don't think we can get out of this system. It seems they not only upgraded the other ones but forced us to stay on this level." "Hmm," the all too familiar voice spoke, "Let me see." Alera saw Dimitri's figure nearing the camera. "Wow," Jessica exclaimed, "He's really good looking don't you think Alera?" Alera stayed silent. "Alera?" Jessica asked poking her friend while talking over Dimitri's voice. "You don't know him do you?" Jessica asked. Alera turned to look at Jessica. "He's the vampire prime minister of Europe," she replied in a hushed whisper. Darkest Temptations Ch. 05 Hello everyone, I actually had submitted ch. 5 last week but it was disapproved for formatting reasons i believe. Anyways, i read the comments for ch. 4. Anyways, i really appreciate your guys' comments for ch. 4 and i wanted to thank you guys for giving this another chance. Thanks, writingfanatic All comments and feedback are appreciated. ------------------------------------------------ Ch. 5 Part 1 Dimitri's eyes scanned over the computer screen. "Haha," he laughed at David, "It looks like whoever didn't want you getting into the system was able to block you out." "Dimitri, you may have to destroy this computer." Dimitri frowned. "David you have to get me out of there, this is one of my best computers." "Sorry, looks like I can't." Dimitri mumbled something inaudible before asking David to get off the computer. "I guess it's alright but I need make a copy of my security system and other programs on this computer first. I bought this for nearly ten thousand." Dimitri complained. Meanwhile Alera who was monitoring Dimitri and David through the webcam paused when Dimitri claimed to have bought a computer for ten thousand dollars. A ten thousand dollar computer? Who the fuck would-! Shit. No way. No, Alera denied, he couldn't have that computer. If it was one of her computers that she had sold, then she had given him her contact information! No, no, no, no, Alera screamed at herself all while managing to keep a calm disposition on the outside. Alera started imagining all the downfalls in her life and how Dimitri would eventually put all the pieces together. No, she told herself firmly, Dimitri will never find out who I am, I'll even get Laden to help if I have to. Alera then realized something. If she wanted Laden to help then he would have to know her secret wouldn't he? Alera shook the thought out of her mind. There was no way she would work with him. Let Dimitri try to figure it out on his own. Suddenly her phone rang. "Shh," Alera told Jessica. "Hello," Alera answered, "Who is this?" "Ah, Kylie," a man said on the phone, "It was Kylie right?" "Uh, yes," Alera replied, "But who is this?" "Oh, I'm Dimitri Marinescu. You sold me your computer, the one for ten thousand." "Oh!" Alera feigned surprise. "I remember you now. What do you need?" "Well, I was wondering if you could stop by London to fix my computer. It seems something has happened to it." Alera paused, "Tell me what is wrong." This time Dimitri paused. "I was trying to hack into something but it didn't quite work out." "Well I don't know too much about hacking, but what about my security system?" "It's um breached, it says it's breached." "What?" Alera exclaimed standing up, "It says it's breached?!" "Yes." Shit, shit, shit, Alera thought. If her security system had said it was breached then it must say where it's coming from. "It also says that the breach is coming from somewhere in the US," Dimitri said only to prove Alera's point. "O-o-h. Um, I see. So if it's hacked into I'm going to charge you if you want to get it out." "Sure," Dimitri replied, "How much?" "I'll uh do it for free but only if you promise me not to be there when I'm on the computer." "What? Why?" Dimitri asked. Alera made something up, "Techniques can't be shared with everyone. Either that or get someone else to do it." Alera heard Dimitri growl. "Then you have to come to London, I'm not going to your place like last time." "Oh, no worries," Alera replied, "I'll be there tomorrow at five pm." "Okay, bye then." Alera hung up. Anger suddenly flooded inside of her. "How you guys know each other?" Jessica asked. "Noo," Alera moaned, "He's going to know that I lied to him." "Why is that such a big deal? You barely know him." Alera looked at Jessica. "No Jessica, I have two reasons. First he's the fucking vampire prime minister of Europe and second I don't want anyone finding out my true identity." "Ah, that's right," Jessica said, "But you can quit your job you know that?" Alera paused. "I don't think that's very good to say right in the middle of the CIA headquarters." Jessica stared at Alera. "I know, but you seem to be in a huge dilemma." "We need to go outside and talk." Alera grabbed her belongings and stuffed everything into her backpack. "We can go to my place," Jessica offered. "Sure," Alera replied. Thirty minutes later the two friends sat on Jessica's couch in her living room. "You really need to clean up this place," Alera told Jessica, "It looks no different from last time." "That's good," Jessica called back to Alera from the kitchen, "It means it didn't get messier." Alera smiled. "Jessica, you should really get some house cleaner, there not that expensive." "No," Jessica said, "Parents are still in huge debts and my siblings are still in college, I have to pay for that." Alera frowned. "I could help if you―" "No," Jessica interrupted, "I earn my money you earn yours. Well... actually you more like blackmailed to get your money but that works too." Alera sighed. "So what about me quitting the CIA?" Jessica came walking back from the kitchen holding to water bottles. "You know I'm going to drink more than that," Alera said. "Oh yeah, I know you can get the rest yourself. I just brought one for you out of courtesy." Alera laughed. "So," Jessica began, "How come they don't like you working with the American government?" Alera leaned forward. "Vampires consider themselves different from humans. Some think that humans are inferior, others simply don't care for their existence except that they are a food source." Alera saw Jessica cringe at the thought. "Anyways," Alera continued, "Dimitri who knows my real face will probably remember my scent too when he come over to get his computer fixed. Not only will he remember my scent as me, Alera, but then he'll start inquiring about how I knew about all this technology when I had seemed to him a harmless vampire." "I still don't understand why can't you work with humans?" "Because we're supposed to keep our existence a secret. For him to know that I've been working for humans and letting them know of my existence he'll probably order an army of vampires to kill every person that worked with me in the CIA... which is practically the whole organization." "Oh shit," Jessica said. "No really." "Try seducing him." Alera nearly jumped out of her seat. "What? No!" "Why not?" Jessica asked, "With looks like yours it wouldn't be too hard. And he's, well he sounds powerful and rich." "Jessica," Alera said, "It's not about the money and looks, there are plenty of other vampires who are very good looking. He was actually cheating on some human girl, or at least attempting to cheat." Jessica nearly choked from shock. "Okay, never mind," she managed to get out. "Anyways," Alera said taking a deep breath, "I think I'm going to go take a nap, I really don't know what to do from here on. But one thing is definite; I'm going to quit the CIA before things get worse." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile back in London Dimitri lay reclined on his chair. Kylie had promised she would be back in London my tomorrow 5pm. Strange, Dimitri thought; he traced the call to the US CIA headquarters. He wondered what she was doing there. From what he remembered Kylie had been a vampire. Dimitri cocked his head. Oh well, he thought, there were more pressing matter to think about. With the information that Alera had given to― Dimitri clenched his teeth together. The mere thought of her made him want to do everything in his power to turn back time and reverse what he had done. So many things had gone wrong in just ten minutes, the attempted sex, the mating fangs, and then Mariah. Dimitri nearly exploded in anger at Mariah for misleading Alera to such an absurd thought. Now with nothing on her except her face and name Dimitri couldn't quench that ache in his heart. He hadn't really liked the girl but she definitely intrigued him. Yes she was arrogant, he thought, there was no doubt about that. He would have to change that. One thing he hated most above all things was arrogance. Then there was also her temper and patience. She always made him repeat himself, another thing that Dimitri hated. As for her actual character he still didn't know her that well but somehow he couldn't stop feeling a certain pull towards her. No, he denied shaking his head vigorously, there was no way she could be his mate. If she had been his mate she would have realized that by now wouldn't she? She would have felt that same connection with him that he felt whenever he touched her, looked at her, talked to her. But he saw none of that. All he remembered what that angry expression that was written all over her face like she was going to murder him when she thought that Dimitri had tried to use her to cheat. Dimitri cringed from remembering one of her punches. If Alera had punched harder Dimitri would have gone crashing into his closet and through the wall, causing more ruckus that he would have wanted to. A knock at the door interrupted his thoughts. "Come in," Dimitri said. A tall vampire walked in. He had a mixed wash of brown and blonde hair that hung somewhat over his eyes but one could still see the bright green through them. "Ah, Laden what brings you here?" Dimitri asked. "Eh, nothing much, just some woman problems going on." "Woman problems?" Dimitri echoed. "Yeah," Laden replied, "A woman from my past." "She called you?" "No, I called her." Dimitri raised an eyebrow, "What's her name?" "Alera Romana." Dimitri froze. "Alera?" "Yes," Laden replied, "She's an Elder. ... Why do you look so frozen?" "Nothing," Dimitri brushed off, "It must be a coincidence." Laden became curious. "No, tell me. Do you know her?" "I'm not sure," Dimitri said, "I can describe her though." Laden nodded his head. "Um, auburn brown hair, blue eyes, fair skin, vampire, Elder, beautiful?" Laden nodded his head. "Seems like we're talking about the same vampire." "How do you know Alera?" Dimitri blurted out unable to hide his curiosity. He noticed a small smile creep onto Laden's handsome face. "We used to be friends until one day I lost control and killed her entire family." "Well that's a blunt way to put it." Laden nodded. "I called to try and apologize but I think she's refused me. She keeps holding onto the past and that's what makes her weak. Alera thinks that holding onto her past as a human makes her more tangible to that world but she needs to realize that she's a vampire now." "Does she want to be human?" Dimitri asked. Laden sat down. "No, I don't think so. Alera values her knowledge too much, what she's learned from the past fifteen hundred years of her life can't be replaced. She's barely come into contact with the vampire world." Dimitri paused for a moment. "So she's not just some woman who likes to blackmail men for money?" Laden laughed, "Did she do that to you?" "No," Dimitri denied, "But that's what she told me." "Oh, yes, she does do that, but it's not her life. Alera's smart, but she's too arrogant. She needs some sense knocked into her otherwise she's going to get herself into some trouble. I've met too many vampires like that." "Well anyways, aside from Alera did you hear about the killings?" "The killings of the five vampires?" "Yes, we're doing an investigation, but I think I'm going to need your help." "Sure," Laden replied, "What do you need?" "Can you get me a list of all the Ancients you know? I think the Ancient that killed the five of them must be unregistered otherwise my team would have observed his movements." "Oh," Laden said, "Who said it was an Ancient?" "Alera." "Okay, I'll get going then. See you tomorrow." After Laden left the room Dimitri returned to thinking about Alera. Great, he thought, so not only is he on Alera's shitlist but so is Laden, one of his closest friends alongside with Kai and Ryu. But it wasn't the shitlist that bothered Dimitri. It was the fact that Alera and Laden had a history. A history that Dimitri intended to find out from Alera. Dimitri leaned forward and looked up Alera Romana on his computer. One face popped up. He clicked on the link and saw her beautiful face illuminated on the screen. He checked where she was last seen. London Heathrow Airport. Hmm, he thought, she must have gone out of country. Perhaps she did have something to do with her life. No matter though, he thought, when Kylie comes over tomorrow I'll ask her to improve the tracking system; hopefully I can get a tail on Alera. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Someone knocked on Dimitri's door. That person knocked again. And again, and again. What is wrong with that bastard? Alera asked herself. Did he not hear her pounding on his door? "Sorry!" Alera heard him yell back to her, "I'm coming!" Alera waited for a brief ten seconds before Dimitri opened the door. She was greeted by a vampire god. Apparently Dimitri had just finished taking a shower and had only able to get his pants on. His chest muscles were clearly defined as was his evident abs. His arms looked firm and toned. "H-h-i-i-," Alera stammered. She hoped he wouldn't hear through her fake British accent. "Hello," he replied, "I presume you're Kylie?" Alera nodded. Before she had come here she had put on a fake tanning gel in hopes of making her skin darker. She wore a dark brown haired wig and dyed her eyebrows brown. Also she wore grey contacts to dull the color of her eyes since she knew that the last time they had met Dimitri had gotten a good look at her face. Alera shakily walked into the room hoping, praying to whatever god there was that he wouldn't notice her scent. She had tried her best to disguise it. For a whole three hours all Alera drank was animal blood since she knew its blood would change the way she smelled. "The computer is that one," Dimitri pointed out. Alera walked over to the computer. She opened it up and noticed that the last thing he had looked at was her. Alera frowned. How had he gotten her last name? Romana. There was no one who knew her last name... no one except Laden. Then how could have Dimitri gotten―. "Dimitri!" a voice called from behind the door. The man on the other side opened the door. Alera couldn't believe her eyes. There he was standing in front of her. Alera swallowed. She knew that she should get over the past. She was a vampire now wasn't she? Besides, Alera reckoned, if she just dropped the human side of her than every human she knew would be safer from the vampire world. Alera swallowed again. Yes, she agreed, she was a vampire and it was time to embrace that. Laden had proved to her that he was sorry; she couldn't let her past get in the way of the friendship they once had. After all he was the one that took care of her when she was first sired into a vampire. It was Laden who had told Alexander, one of the Ancients, that Laocles had a human army racked up to track Alera. Suddenly Laden's head turned in Alera's direction. Immediately she sat up. "Who is she?" Laden asked Dimitri, his gaze not leaving her face. ---------------------------------------------- Ch. 5 Part 2 "Oh," Dimitri said, "That's Kylie, she's just fixing my computer." Alera and Laden made eye contact and immediately Alera knew Laden recognized her. "Well, she is uh... very attractive," Laden managed to get out. Dimitri stared at Laden with a horrified expression. Did he just say Kylie, the orange-fake tanned girl, dull blue eyes, and weird Einstein auburn hair was attractive. "Anyways," Laden began, "I will talk to you later, bye." Alera breathed out a small sigh before she continued with the task at hand. "Hey Kylie," Dimitri said, "I have a favor to ask of you." "Yes?" Alera asked. "Do you mind checking up on a girl for me? I need ro find her." Alera waited for a brief moment before replying. "Sorry, I'm not a private investigator." "No," Dimitro protested as if he thought he could somehow convince her, "This girl, her name is Alera Romana and I need to talk to her. It's about some political stuff." Alera cocked one eyebrow. Hadn't she told him everything that she knew about the killings? How persistent was he? Alera did a mental sigh and continued working on the computer. "So... Uh about my question?" Dimitri asked. "Oh, yeah, uh I don't think I can," Alera said. "Really?" Dimitri asked in a curious sort of manner. Alera looked up from the computer screen and saw him approaching her. "Why can't you find her for me?" Dimitri asked. Alera stared at the man. "I already told you," she said trying to keep her voice steady, "I'm not a private investigator. Besides I'm not good at that kind of stuff." "And that's why you can build a system that can even hack into the US government most secret files?" Alera stuttered. "I didn't know it could do that." Dimitri smirked. "Kylie," he said leaning in, "If you actually believe that-" Dimitri's eyes widened and Alera could guess at the exact reason why. For a whole moment Dimitri just stared at Kylie... or at least who he thought was Kylie. His eyes brushed over her face, examining her eyes closely enough to recognize Alera's well-disguised blue eyes. Dimitri's gaze drifted to Alera's lips, his mind reeled at the thought of kissing her again. "I have to go," Alera stated. Dimitri returned to look at Alera's eyes. "Ha," Dimitri laughed throatily. "Alera, the gel tan and weird green eyes really don't suit you." "Disguises were never really my suit," Alera admitted. Dimitri could only stare at Alera. "How did you change the scent of your blood?" Alera's eyebrows perked up, "Anyone would recognize you anywhere so there is really no use of hiding your scent." "Yes I supposed you're right but in actuality if I were to approach in a disguise I would stand a chance right?" Alera stood up, slightly surprising Dimitri. "But―" "I want to know where Kylie is." "I am Kylie," Alera said softly. Dimitri frowned. "Why did you not tell me?" "Would you stop interrogating me like I'm some sort of criminal?" Alera asked stepping away from Dimitri's desk. "All you have been doing is asking me questions! I'm just here to fix your damn computer!" Dimitri's eyes never left Alera's gaze. "I'm curious. I'm curious because it never crossed my mind that you could be someone so different from what I imagined." Alera's chest heaved up and down which to her chagrin attracted Dimitri's hard gaze. Immediately she saw his gaze soften and his eyes glazed with desire. "I'm going to the bathroom to change and clean up." Alera left the room but heard Dimitri follow her. "I can manage." "The shower is broken, I'm afraid the bathtub is quite hard to use." Alera shook her head. "No, I can figure it out." Dimitri shrugged but he stood in the doorway still. His eyes motioned toward then bathtub, a tint of challenge in them. Alera walked over to the bathtub. She looked at the assortment of buttons and handles that were there. Uh oh, she thought, she hadn't even the slightest clue as to where the water faucet was. "I'll be getting you a towel," Dimitri replied as he walked out, closing the door behind him. Darkest Temptations Ch. 05 Outside Dimitri let out a loud sigh. Dimitri's cock sprang to life as a nude image of Alera bathing in his bath was conjured in his mind. Dimitri suppressed a growl. Dimitri walked over to his closest and took out a dark blue fluffy towel. He stalked back over to the bathroom door and listened. There was no water running. He tapped on the door lightly and then opened it. Alera stood with her back facing Dimitri in the shower. Shit, he thought, it seemed she saw through his lie, he had only wanted to see Alera in a bath but apparently things didn't go his way. Alera suddenly turned around while Dimitri was staring at her nice round ass. Alera boldly got out of the shower and snatched the towel from Dimitri's hand. "Thank you," Alera said curtly as she wrapped the towel around her body. Dimitri nearly groaned. If it hadn't been for the nasty gel tan that was on her skin he wouldn't have had the control to refrain from kissing her. "I'll be outside," Dimitri said. "Thanks," Alera murmured. Alera climbed back into the shower after Dimitri left. She knew she shouldn't have come today. She should have just sent someone instead. Alera groaned out loud as she remembered Dimitri's sculpted upper body. He hadn't bothered to put on a shirt when he was outside getting her a towel. A myriad of images inched their way into Alera's mind. A picture of Dimitri's strong arms wrapped tightly around her while there were in an embrace. A picture of Alera placing a kiss on his large, sexy chest. An image of Dimitri naked in the shower. She could just imagine how sexy he looked nude. Alera's knees started to weaken and she was forced to sit down on the shower floor. She spread her legs open and felt her wetness. Oh fuck, she thought, she could practically feel herself dripping at the thought of Dimitri's body. Alera slipped two fingers inside herself. A wave of pleasure rocked through her body. Alera started moaning. She knew Dimitri would be able to smell her scent in the shower, especially after masturbating but she didn't care. Alera put in one more finger. She moaned again. Alera was so caught up in the moment that she didn't hear Dimitri knocking at the door. She was only distracted from her current duty when she heard Dimitri groan. Alera's eyes widened beyond disbelief. Her hand flew out from between her legs and she tried to cover herself. "What are you doing here?" Alera demanded. She noticed another towel in Dimitri hand. "You've already gave me one." "I figured you would need another, that towel," he said motioning to the dark blue one that hung on the rack next to the shower, "Is now dirty because it touched the gel tan that you were previously wearing." "Well you could have knocked," Alera snapped taking a step out of the shower that she hadn't bothered turning off. "I did knock." A small smile appeared on Dimitri's lips. Alera was at a loss of words. "Well I was busy at the moment," she declared. Alera took another step in hopes of taking the towel from Dimitri but she slipped and fell. In less than a second Dimitri was there, his strong arms wrapped securely around her body, saving the floor though more than Alera herself. Alera froze. She could see the hesitation in Dimitri's eyes. This time he was positively hard. She could feel it rubbing against the right side of her body. His hard, sinewy muscles pressed against Alera. Suddenly feeling very exposed to Dimitri's gaze Alera coughed lightly and removed herself from Dimitri's arms. Alera reminded herself that the man was a cheating bastard. "Do not touch me like that again," Alera commanded her eyes hard. "Why?" Dimitri inquired. His voice was soft and breathy, his gaze seeking something. "I don't want to affiliate myself with a man who jumps at the sight of a woman." "I want to explain th―" "I don't need to know your personal business," Alera stated. "I have no interest in you at all." Dimitri raised an eyebrow. "That is what you said last time and I don't think I was the only one into it." Alera wrapped the towel around herself tighter. "Very well then, explain then if you want to." Dimitri knew he was going to explain even if she had said no. "Mariah and I had a platonic relationship. She didn't know I was a vampire and I met her through business relations. She had just gotten too attached." "Either way, you shouldn't have two women at once, it hurts." Dimitri stared at Alera. "I uh didn't know." "Well now you know," Alera remarked, "Can I finished taking my shower?" She turned away and was about the take the towel off when she realized that Dimitri hadn't left. Alera turned around only to be greeted by his hard chest. "You're not going anywhere, I'm not letting you go," Dimitri whispered gruffly into Alera ear before his lips descended down on hers. Alera struggled under his hold but Dimitri held her face in place. His mouth nipped at the sides of her lips, tempting her. "Open for me," Dimitri groaned pressing himself harder against her. Alera felt the cool of the shower glass door creep up along her back. Ah, she thought, this was her excuse to stop. But before she could say anything Dimitri had yanked the towel away from Alera's body and lifted her up. He took a couple steps backwards and then reached for the shower door. Once open he stepped in with Alera all while still kissing her. Alera felt the warm water droplets along her body. It didn't do anything to stop Dimitri though. It only seemed to encourage him more. "Why deny yourself what you want?" Dimitri asked as he grabbed Alera ass. "Dimitri," Alera said pushing him away, "Your pants are still on." With a ferocious, raw growl Dimitri ripped his pants off, completely shredding them. He threw the remain over the glass shower wall. Alera saw his erection and that was all it took for Alera to drop onto her knees. Dimitri followed in pursuit. He aligned his body with Alera's, allowing his erection to press firmly against her stomach. Alera wrapped her legs around him and pulled him closer, only causing Dimitri harden more than he thought possible. Alera lifted herself up and kissed Dimitri. Her senses were completely overwhelmed with his male scent. Suddenly out of the blue the bathroom door opened and immediately Alera parted herself from Dimitri. The figure hastily turned away but not before Alera caught a glimpse of his face. Laden. "Are you done showering?" Dimitri asked, his body still aching for Alera's touch. "I suppose so," Alera said, "Do you have something I can wear? My clothes got wet." "Yeah, hold on, I need to go outside to grab something." Dimitri stood up and offered his hand to Alera. She got up by herself. "I'm taking the towel," Dimitri said as he wrapped it around himself. He walked out of the room, a disappointed look on his face. Alera smiled. Somehow it comforted her that Dimitri wasn't cheating. Alera shook her head. No, Dimitri was just someone she had physical attraction to, nothing more. Dimitri returned shortly after he left with a huge shirt and towel. "Here," he said placing the shirt and the towel on the right side of the bathtub, "I'll be waiting outside." Alera nodded and waited for Dimitri to leave before she got out of the shower. Why had Laden of all the times decided that he would barge in during a shower? Did he usually do that, Alera wondered. She quickly dried herself and brushed through her hair. Alera pulled the shirt over her body and rolled up the sleeves. It was hot. Alera cleaned everything up, throwing away the clothes and her own. The gel tan had stuck to her clothes. It's okay, Alera brushed off, she would just demand that Dimitri buy her new clothes. Alera opened the door and walked outside. Yes, she hadn't been mistaken, it was Laden who had seen Dimitri and Alera in the shower and he didn't look too happy, that was until he saw Alera.
