Also I am not blessed with an editor so please be kind and understanding. ****** "Are you serious?" I stared horrified at my unearthly, unmoving, beautiful mother. "Yes, I am quite serious, Lilly." My mother continued to opened trunks that I was told since infancy wouldn't be open until my wedding. "Now get out, most of this is for your husbands eyes only, and your nervousness is making me ill." I stood up and walked out of her room and crossed the long hallway into my room, slamming the door behind me. I looked at the canopy bed, gauzy curtains of soft greens and blues falling down to the dark blue and silver stitched bedding. I threw myself onto my bed, taking in the only human looking room in the house. I spotted my reflection in the mirror of my vanity and picked up a dark blue pillow and threw it. Of course my room was the only human looking room in the ridiculously over sized house, I was the only human in the house. The mirror distorted my reflection and I looked away trying to keep my tears from falling, the last thing I needed was for my younger brother to scent my grief and saunter in like he owned the place. I sighed, who was I kidding, he was going to own this place, and the title and everything else. He was a Halfling, half vampire, half human, what I was supposed to have been. Imagine my vampire mother and fathers surprise, when they prepare a bottle of formula cut with blood only to find out, voila, full human daughter. I stared up at the ceiling, genetically I was rare, if you had two vampire parents, and the vampire gene is dominate, its only a small percentage that the baby would have the recessive human gene. But I did, which meant for an average vampire household, embarrassment, and the hopes that someone will adopt the human quickly, at least that is what I would assume would happen. To be honest I have never heard about another human born to a vampire family, but who knows. However, for my family, who held royal blood, and with it, royal power, for my family it brought embarrassment, and shame. How could a vampire family with such strong lines, have a human daughter? I took deep breaths trying to keep the tears back, because of who my family is, they couldn't just dump me off at the nearest European orphanage. Nope, because, it just so happens when the great Vlaine line has a child, that child is married off right in the womb. Some old witch comes around, tells them the sex of the child, and poof the child is engaged. Imagine how thrilled my family was when they discovered the ruling vampire family had just had a son not one year ago and was still trying to find an appropriate match for him, and my mother just happened to be carrying a daughter. Parties were thrown, engagements were made, bonds were formed, blood oaths were voiced, and I ended up engaged. Then out came Lilly, and down went my family. At least that's how my brother tells it anyway. My mother, being a kind hearted creature, says that the royal family still saw potential in the marriage between Damien, their precious prince, and me, the embarrassment of a human. However, other families with vampire Halfling children would have their slightly stronger spawn start to attack me. I almost died three times before I was even eight. Needless to say, my father was forced to swallow his pride and take me away from Europe, for my safety as well as my entire families safety. Thus exchanging a couple of hundred year old castle, for a brand new mansion, built in the wilds of Idaho. That's right, Idaho, where else can a future human princess to the vampires be kept safe except in the only place where running water still hasn't been discovered yet. Yep, Idaho. I'm exaggerating the running water, but not by much, I look out my two windows and see nothing but farm land, farm land as far as the eye can see. Its depressing, but its home. At least to me its home, to the rest of my family, its beyond depressing. Finally the tears began to fall and I groaned as my bedroom door opened, as expected, and my twelve year old brother sauntered into the room, smirking at me. "Get out Luke." "Oh ho, little human Lilly crying in her little bitty bed?" I glared at the frustrating brat. He was the perfect specimen of vampireness, midnight hair, midnight eyes, pale face, and sharp angular features. He could eat his weight and then some, and still gain not a pound. I, on the other hand, had long, chestnut hair, that had naturally, soft, bouncy curls. That's right, soft curls, not the beautiful straight severe black hair of my family, nope, soft, chestnut, and curls. It was humiliating, along with that obvious difference, I was also full figured, not angular and severe like the rest of my family, no I had curves, full hips, full bust, a perfectly human hourglass figure. My eyes were chocolate, that's right, sugar and milk with cocoa, chocolate. No mysterious black, no intimidating harsh light from my eyes, nope, soft, again! And I was a honey kissed tan, because while my family sun burned, then returned to their pale glow, I absorbed the sun. My skin took in the sun, changed my skin tones, and gave me the last nail in the proverbial coffin. I glared at my perfect specimen of vampirism brother and narrowed my eyes, "You aren't a vampire either brat." He shrugged the argument off haughtily, he naturally had haughtiness, I couldn't muster it to save my life, "So, eventually I can be bit and changed into a vampire. You cant, can you itty bitty Lilly?" I stood up and stalked towards him and I was satisfied to see panic flash across his face before he bolted out the door yelling for Mother. I snorted in satisfaction as I slammed the door again. But it was short lived as I heard my door open and felt the ice cold presence of my father stalk into my room, "Lilly." I looked up at him and saw a frown on his sharp features, "What?" His back straightened even more and his eyes narrowed, "Your mother is ready to speak with you." I nodded looking down, I knew my father disliked me, who wouldn't, my entrance into the world single handedly ruined his reputation and took away everything from him, including his home. I walked silently through the dark halls and back into the black and red room of my parents. My mother closed the last of the luggage and I gawked at them, "Wait, what is going on?" My father stood next to my mother giving me an icy stare, "You are headed to France to meet up with your aunt, and from there you will go by train to the house of your future husband." My knees buckled under my weight and I collapsed hard onto the floor, landing hard on my soft ass, "But I'm not supposed to marry him until I'm nineteen, that's still six months away." Mother looked up at my father in what could only be described as nervousness, which for her to actually show, must mean something very bad. I waited, staring miserably at them and finally my mother turned to me and sat down on the edge of her bed, "Lilly, you must start courting soon. It is different for vampire royalty, the courting is very important. It is one of those things that must be learned by doing, not by being told." I looked up at her, fear stealing my breath, "I don't understand, I know I'm an embarrassment, but, I thought that the marriage was cancelled because of what I am." My mother shook her head, "No darling, the agreement was made in blood, there is nothing that can be done. It will be hard and might even be deadly for you, that's why, we came here, why we gave up so much for you to have a happy life until now." I felt tears spill down my face and looked up to my father who was looking away in disgust. I looked back down ashamed, "I thought...I had plans, college, a future..." Both my parents shook their heads, "No Lilly, you leave for Paris tonight. Isadora, your aunt, will meet you there, and then you will have to go shopping." "Why?" Of all the stupid things, the last thing on my mind was shopping but the look in my Mothers face silenced me. "You have nothing appropriate to wear, I went through all six trunks, when I had bought the garments, I had thought your body would be more...like mine." I hunched down a bit realizing that I had to get an entirely new wardrobe because my mother had shopped for a future vampire, not a plump human. "Enough coddling Esmeralda, lets go already." My mother nodded and touched my soft hair before pulling me to my feet and kissing me goodbye. Courting a Vampire Ch. 02 I arrived in Paris looking and smelling like a homeless woman. My aunt, damn her, was waiting for me looking like a tall, vampire model, wearing a ridiculous black, glittering dress that was so low it showed the edge of her navel and in her hand was a black, lace umbrella I walked towards her, seeing her face light up in a bright smile. "Lilly, you look atrocious. Its wonderful to see you." She led me to get my baggage then led me to her limo and ushered me in. "My Brother says that you need regular sleep, that will put us behind schedule but I guess there is nothing that can be done about it. You are so cute, but you smell terrible, so we are going to the hotel right away and I want you to freshen up then we need to shop." I moaned and laid my head back against the loft leather head rest and closed my eyes letting the bumpy ride calm my nerves. It had to be only a little after lunch here, so it made sense that my Aunt would want to go shopping, but I was exhausted and I knew that there would be no hope of getting anything done until I went to sleep. We arrived at the hotel and walked into the pent house, I ignored my Aunt directing bell hops all around to organize things, as well as carry in all the luggage, my two bags and her seventeen. I, instead, went straight for the bathroom, and turned on the large Jacuzzi tub and took a heavenly, hot bath. It must have been soothing because before I knew it my Aunt was staring down at me and the water was very cold. I shivered from both her black stare and the water, before standing up and toweling quickly off. "I forgot about human inclination towards jet lag." She rubbed the bridge of her nose and slumped down in the chair in my room, "I'm trying Lilly, but you are going to have to work with me here. We only have a few days to get you six months worth of appropriate clothing." I put on a pair of jeans, a black bra, and a white tank top then sat on the bed. I looked out the window feeling entirely overwhelmed. No one seemed to care that my entire life had just been uprooted, that I went from happy American teenager who just graduated, to a European vampire prince's betrothed. I sighed and turned back to my Aunt who's desperate look had disappeared and turned into serious calculations. Her eyes roamed my body and suddenly I felt the need to cover myself with my blanket. Before I could manage it my Aunt had me out of the bed and was observing me entirely from head to toe. She grabbed a handful of my hair and scrunched it, watching it drop and spring back in soft curls, "What is going on with your hair?" "What?" I ran my fingers through it, trying to untangle the drying curls. My Aunt ignored me and stared straight at my breast, leaning forward and grabbing both and squeezing them softly. She lifted them and released them, again, soft and bouncy, I wanted to die. She glared at me through narrowed eyes, "Strip to your bra and panties." I hesitated and she barked a loud now, snapping me out of any sense of shyness I might have had. I stripped quickly and stood feeling more like meat on the market than a person as my aunt poked and pinched and grabbed different parts of my body. Finally she stood back with a smug look on her face, "Your mother failed to tell me how voluptuous you were." I dropped my eyes, "Sorry, I'm big." My Aunt scoffed, "Voluptuous is not big darling. I am gathering from popular human trends that your body type is very desirable." "Yeah for a human." I muttered and pulled my clothes back on. "Yes, for a human." My aunt became distracted for a moment before picking up the phone just as it rang. "Hello...oh yes we will be there shortly." She hung up the phone and turned back to me, "We have dinner reservations. Please tell me you have some semblance of a dress." I sighed and dug through the bag I had personally packed and pulled out a bright yellow dress and put it on quickly. It was a sun dress but it was the only dress I had, the little flowers smiled up at me and when I turned to see my Aunt she was wincing so hard you would have thought I had just staked her. "I should have known, yellow, Hades give me strength. Alright dear, lets go." ************** Dinner was a very silent affair with my Aunt greeting different men, some human, most vampire. They all asked about me and after being told my name the vampires scoffed then retreated making my aunt more and more irritated by the end of the meal. When we were in the car she turned sharply to me, "This dress is getting burned when we get back, understand?" I looked at her aghast, "But it's the only one I have." "You will have more by tomorrow evening. No more yellow, its disgusting, little flowers on it. You would think you were here to compete in the Miss Idaho darling pageant or whatever asinine human thing they do. Its embarrassing." I bit my lip and looked away, watching the scenery pass by without really looking at it. I had embarrassed yet another relative, one I had only known for less than a day. It seemed hopeless and in a very dark mood I began to wonder if it wouldn't have been better for everyone if one of those near death experiences had been a full death event. "I'm sorry Lilly." I turned back to my Aunt and saw her looking at me sadly, "There is a lot going on and your father sent you to me, because he believed you would have the best fighting chance with me. And I look at you in all your little yellow dress, humanness and I feel like I may not even succeed." "I don't want to marry Damien and I don't know why everyone is working so hard for me to do that." My aunt took a deep breath and then released it, "it isn't about you marrying the Prince, Lilly. Courting can be a very violent thing, and I'm sure your parents left all the explaining up to me." "I guess because I don't know anything." My aunt made a dark face and muttered my fathers name under her breath before turning back to me, "Alright, well, first what you need to know is that for six months you will be courting the Prince, along with three other girls." I was stunned, I didn't know there was going to be competition, my heart raced a bit faster in hope. All Damien had to do was reject me and then voila, I got my life back. "I will be living with you, but the other girls, they will be independent without a chaperone, I guess is what you would call me. This puts you at a disadvantage, because while the three vampire girls will be seen as strong and independent, I am afraid you will be viewed as week and dependent." "Okay, but why are you going with me while the other girls don't have someone." "Obvious reasons being you're human and far more fragile than the other three. Also, you have needs that vampires are not entirely accustomed to, especially the old families where Halflings are changed at the age of five into vampires so they can learn their life early. No one will think about your needs like the restroom, or food, or water, or sleep." She shifted uncomfortable as the limo stopped in front of the hotel but she didn't move to get out, "There is another reason too isn't there?" My Aunt nodded, "I'm there also to make sure you stay alive. Courting royalty is very competitive and it wouldn't be beyond the other betrothed to kill off the weak little human to better their chances." "I might not live through this, then." I shuttered at the thought but wasn't as afraid as I would have thought I should be, in fact it felt like a bit of a relief. "But don't you worry dear, I am here for you. And our first order of business is to investigate the competition and develop a battle strategy accordingly." And with that she flung open the car door and got out, practically bouncing to the front doors. Courting a Vampire Ch. 03 The next morning was spent out on the patio, a large umbrella protecting my Aunt's vampire skin from the morning light and me sitting face to the sun absorbing it. My aunt set a photo in front of me on top of my coffee and pointed to it. The photo was split into three sections, each holding a photo of three very beautiful vampire girls, all my age or close to. The first had long black hair, very much like my mothers, except it was cut with razor bangs and she was pale with almond eyes. All vampires had the same sort of angular look about them, there were small differences, like the first vampires nose was smaller than the other three with the almond eyes, the middle had a longer narrow nose, and the third had a very petite pointed nose. The first had lips that were very narrow, the second had a fuller lower lip with a very narrow top lip and the third had the most balanced mouth with long slender lips that matched each other perfectly. The first had long black hair, with razor bangs, the second had short blood red hair that was cut in a way that styled to be spiked all over, and the third had very beautiful ice white hair. All three had the typical vampy black eyes with the last two having wider eyes, the thirds eyes looking very severe and quite frightening to be honest. "That is your competition. Their body types are the typical, lithe, willowy, harsh, jagged body type. The third, Desmond, she has a bit more body than a typical vampire. The first Yuki, is from Japan, so she's very quiet and proper, the second is Elizabeth, she's British, as if you couldn't tell from that hair. And Desmond is from North America as well." "Does Elizabeth's hair grow that color?" My Aunt scoffed, "No, but Desmond's does, as does Yuki's. Lilly?" I looked up from the picture, "Yeah?" "Is that your natural hair color?" I tugged on a chestnut curl and frowned, "Yeah." My aunt mused with a small smile on her face, "It gets quite red in the sunlight. Alright, enough with the competition. When you are introduced to the Prince, as well as the council you must be wearing something entirely revealing." I choked on my coffee, spending a few minutes coughing before I could croak out, "What?" My Aunt sighed and looked down as if asking for assistance, "The council and the Prince will have to see your body, it used to be that you four would be naked. But thanks to wonderful designers see through lingerie is in fashion." "B..but why?" "Well it is mostly to see if you have any defects on your body. Most Vampires are perfect, but there are a few vampires that keep relations a little too close to the family and they have some birth defects that being a vampire cannot cure. There will be other things to happen at this event but there's nothing to worry about now." My Aunt stood up and ushered me back into my room to quickly change into a light dress of black that she must have bought last night while I slept, and we were out. There is something to be said for Paris when it comes to the local population accepting a black dress wearing, tall, pale, black satin umbrella holding woman, with a great deal of grace. Our first stop happened to be a shop that sold vintage, couture dresses and much to my horror and my Aunts fury we were quickly told that my size was not available. If it had not been for the pure look of murder in my aunts eyes I'm sure a snippy comment about a thrift store would have exited the woman's mouth. I was suddenly starting to feel very Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman as my Aunt strode down the street, no longer gracefully dancing around the people, but plowing them over. She was a vampire on a mission and that mission brought us to a ridiculous jewelry store. She slammed the door open with force causing everyone in the store to freeze and stare at her. A young woman quickly walked up to my Aunt greeting her warmly if not cautiously, "Isadora, we haven't seen you in ages. Are you alright dear, do you need a bit of the vintage?" My Aunt closed her umbrella and nodded, "yes, this is my niece, she's to go with you for a moment, and I need to speak with Armand." The lady bowed and motioned for me to follow her as she briskly walked past the counters into the back room. She got on the phone and quickly dialed the number and tapped the phones edge waiting. "Armand? Yes, its Rebecca, Lady Isadora is here and she is demanding to speak with you...yes she seems very upset...yes I already offered and am going to do that as soon as I get off the phone...yes...thank you sir." She hung up and looked at me warily, "Are you..." She left the question unanswered but I smiled having already been on the receiving end of that particular question all my life, "Human, and yes that is my Aunt. Don't be worried though, she's upset because we had a very...80's movie moment at a local dress store." The woman turned and silently walked to a vault, then proceeded to spin the combination and had to pull with most of her body to move the door. Once inside I saw a large collection of different precious stones, all loose but I didn't get to look for too long before Rebecca was opening a door that had looked like just another stack of shelves and began to descend a flight of stairs. I followed behind her and watched as she picked up a black goblet and pointed to different bottles until finally finding the one she wanted. With a pop I watched the dark red liquid pour into the goblet realizing what the "vintage" was. She looked at me for a moment, "Do you get queasy at the sight of blood?" I made a face, "No, my family are vampires, wouldn't be the first black goblet that I have seen." Rebecca smiled and corked the bottle putting it back and grabbing the goblet she strode past me. She was halfway up the stairs when she stopped and began to laugh. I looked at her curiously before she turned, "I finally got it, the 80's movie moment. Pretty woman?' I nodded and pointed at myself. The woman laughed, "No wonder Isadora is in such a foul mood. I bet the woman didn't even realize who she was speaking to." "I don't think she cared really. She took one look at me and laughed and said there was nothing in my size. Jeeze, I'm not even that big a size eight is a respectable size." Rebecca nodded and closed the vault behind her carefully grabbing a silver tray to set the goblet on before continuing back into the main lobby. The store had been cleared out and a man with grey hair peppered through his black hair was sitting in front of may Aunt smiling and laughing. He turned and looked at Rebecca then to me and his smile disappeared as he turned to my Aunt, "I am sorry Isadora, Rebecca usually never takes this long, and I am unsure of who is with her..." My Aunt raised her hand to stop him, "It is alright Armand, that young lady is my niece, and Rebecca was very punctual." Rebecca smiled and held the tray to my aunt who grabbed the goblet and sipped it delicately, "Ah, that is wonderful. Now to business, I will not be embarrassed again by the fact I have a voluptuous niece, that being said, I think a bit of sparkle on my niece will illustrate how serious we are about shopping." Armand stood quickly and with my aunts permission grabbed my hand lightly and led me to the jewelry counter. Rebecca stayed with my aunt speaking softly to her, and my aunt listening intently to the young woman. Armand released my hand and went around the counter looking through the glass. "Lady Isadora, what were we thinking about for the young lady? Black diamonds perhaps?" My aunt was at my side instantly, causing Armand to wince but I was so used to my father doing that, that it just made me feel a bit homesick, "No black diamonds, a common fancy among my kind. As you can see, my niece is rare, and we must emphasize that difference." Armand nodded and looked at me closely before going into the back and returning with a stack of different black satin boxes. He opened the first box to a large yellow diamond in a bright yellow gold set. My aunt hissed, "No yellow!!!" I chuckled as Armand quickly disposed of three of the boxes behind the counter and opened another. My aunt quickly dismissed one after another until Armand opened a small box with a beautiful blue stone set in a white gold setting, what was beautiful was the chain was so thin that it looked invisible. My aunt dismissed it but I stopped her. "Wait, can I try it on, please." My aunts eyebrows rose and she looked at the stone again. "It is blue Lilly." "I know, and I know blue isn't exactly an appropriate color, but you said you wanted to play up my differences. Its such a pretty sapphire." "Blue diamond." Armand corrected me, "It is a very rare blue diamond. In fact to find one this size and clarity is also very rare." He lifted it out and put it on me quickly lifting a mirror so I could see it. I was in love, it was beautiful, and it looked like the deep, dark, blue blankets I had left home, "Its my favorite color." I sighed before taking it off already knowing my aunt would give it a resounding no. "Alright then Lilly." She smiled at my surprised face and grabbed the necklace putting it back on me. "We are celebrating your differences my darling." She turned to Armand, "I want every single blue diamond you have here, and ones that you can get here by tomorrow." Armand nodded and he and Rebecca began to spread out and grab different things from the back, the vault, and through out the store. The presented different items and my aunt vetoed or approved different jewelry. I sat down on the couch and let my aunt do the work. Eventually we left with a lot of bags from the jewelry store. "How much did you spend?" My aunt winked at me as she handed me a few more bags and opened her umbrella, "Rebecca told me of some wonderful stores that would carry your size, off the beaten track. Care to explore?" I smiled and nodded holding up the bags, "Without being a neon sign saying, rob me I have millions of dollars in jewelry in my bags." My aunt smiled, "Oh, it wasn't millions, and you are right lets go to the car." We dropped the jewelry off and then she grabbed my hand and we quickly made our way down a few side streets before stopping at a very crowded dress shop. My aunt pursed her lips but shrugged and walked in, the door tingling as we opened it. A very feminine man greeted us and my aunt got straight to work. It felt weird having a man take my measurements then say something to my aunt in French, who in turn smiled at me triumphantly, "He says you have a very beautiful body." The man went into the back and began to pile dress after dress after dress onto the counter. My aunt and he spoke to one another in French and quickly the yellow, pink, lavender, and other offensive colors disappeared, all but dark blue, that color remained. I had one dress after another shoved onto me, pinned then pulled off and eventually money exchanged hands and we were out of the store. My aunt looked completely satisfied as we made our way back to the main streets, "Need to eat Lilly?" I nodded and we stopped at a café where I ate a sandwich and my aunt struck up conversation with a woman next to her. Eventually we managed to get to all the stores on the list Rebecca has made for us and I was dizzy from the over abundance of outfits I had just explored. It was close to the end of the day and my aunt grabbed my hand and with a reassuring squeeze walked me into a very risqué lingerie store. I tried not to panic as see through bras and crotch less underwear assaulted my sense of propriety. I again had a tape measure around my body and the lady relayed the measurements to a pair of very eager women who quickly asked my aunt many questions and began to pile one see through outfit after another, all in black. I tried on one after another, my aunt sitting with me in the dressing room. Her face went from happy to frustrated after three different outfits. She flung the door open, "You look like shit in black!! How is that even possible?!?!" She began to yell at the women at the counter and finally one of them stood up and said something back to her. My aunt froze and looked at me then at the woman and nodded consent. Suddenly white was being thrust to me and the rest of the day was spent matching one see through thing with another. I made it to bed shortly after diner and slept solidly only to be woken up early by a perky aunt who took shopping way to seriously. The next day was almost identical to the previous and by the end of the lingerie store I was tired of shopping, of dresses, and of Paris. Courting a Vampire Ch. 04 The train ride to the country side was long, longer than I would have expected, I ignored what country we were in and instead slept, being told by my aunt that I would have little opportunity to do so once I had arrived. Eventually, we did arrive and a long black limo waited for us at the train station. My aunt had made sure I looked fresh and appropriately vampire like, dressed in a very form fitting antique, black lace dress. It covered every inch of skin from the tops of my hands to the tops of my feet, and all the way to my jaw line. I pulled at it for a moment before my aunt gave me a dark look and I put my hands in my lap and waited nervously. She leaned to the side and whispered in my ear, "We are the last to arrive, I wanted you to be noticed, and you shall be. I want you walking in like you are a princess, because you are, got it?" I nodded nervous and my aunt nudged me again, "You cant appear weak, you will already be considered the weakest one just by being a human Lilly. I want you to walk in there and act like there isn't a damn person there worth your time." I swallowed nervously and my aunt smiled, "You already had something to eat before you arrived, and the courting ceremony commences at sun set." "So how many hours exactly?" "Oh enough time for you to greet who I introduce you to, and you are to refuse to even look at anyone I do not introduce you too, especially the three little vampy girls that will probably be more than excited to get in an initial intimidation. Also, no eating or drinking anything I do not give you myself, understand?" I nodded, "I don't imagine they are going to have anything Lilly friendly there?" My aunt nodded as the limo stopped. She pulled a few of my curls out of the loose up do I had. She checked the diamond encrusted combs and barrettes and then straightening me out, she stepped out flipping open her umbrella and then reached down and held her hand out for me. I grabbed it and got out of the car buttoning up the long jacket as the cold wind hit. My aunt smiled and guided me to the castle. We entered loudly announced and my aunt took her time closing her umbrella and handing the umbrella and her very stylish hat to the butler. I took my time unbuttoning my jacket and allowed him to help me out of it, his obvious surprise at the jacket evident on his face. My aunt laughed, "Not all of us are lucky enough to be able to sport such accessories." I turned away from the man batting at a soft curl that kept tickling my cheek and followed my Aunt into the ball room. The music and the dancing and laughing all stopped as hundreds of vampire eyes turned to stare at me. My Aunt straightened her back reminding me to do the same and I looked straight ahead only looking at my aunt. The vampires parted around us as my aunt walked straight to a familiar looking group. They smiled when they saw me and I was introduced to my mothers small group of relatives. I greeted the group of four seeing them assessing everything about me and then looking behind my shoulder with worry. My aunt started speaking heatedly to my cousin in what sounded like French and I felt a tap on my shoulder. I straightened and turned slightly to look into a pair of large black eyes, sitting among a cloud of cold white hair, behind her stood the other two betrothed. Desmond smirked cruelly at me, "So the little human arrives." I felt everyone freeze that was within hearing distance and I looked at the three before rolling my eyes and turning back around stepping to my silently staring aunt and pretending to whisper into her hear. A huge smile broke across her face and she stepped around me to handle the three girls. I greeted the cousin she was speaking to, thanking her for being there. The vampire seemed genuinely flabber ghasted at my thanks and said that she would never leave a member of the family to fend for themselves, especially one as precious as me. I felt my Aunt grab my hand and I dipped my head and thanked them before turning away and looking straight ahead ignoring the glaring vampire girls as my aunt slowly rotated me around the room. Eventually we reached a very old vampire woman who spoke very loudly to my aunt and then turned to me and gasped in shock. "My dear whatever is happening on top of your head?" My aunt began to explain who I was and that my hair was natural causing the old vampire to lean forward and capture a loose curl, "How odd, but rather lovely isn't she Isadora?" My aunt nodded and smiled, "She is rare." The old vampire laughed, "Oh Isadora, the game is afoot, is that the angle you are going for? My little Desmond is still in the lead I think." My aunt laughed, "How in the lead Margarette?" "She already has quite the relationship with the Prince, it almost seems like this whole courting ceremony is nothing but a farce." My aunts eyes got sharp but her smile never wavered, "Oh well, we shall see, I have faith in my little blue diamond." And with that my aunt turned and strode away, with me quickly on her heels. She whispered to a butler and we were escorted through the ballroom and out the doors. My aunt was walking quickly with sharp steps and I was close behind her until I tripped and knocked over a vase. I stopped and looked around for help and knelt down and picked up the bigger pieces and put them back on the pedestal. When I finished I looked around and realized my aunt was gone and I was completely alone. It took a moment before I took off down the hall I think my aunt went down and walked slowly and quietly, trying not to attract any attention. I felt the presence behind me before I heard it the velvet voice, "What are you doing?" I turned to look into an odd silver pair of eyes, "I am lost." He took a step towards me, he was tall a head taller than me, and he was muscular, not the very lean body of most vampires, but instead his body was powerful. My pulse quickened as his midnight black hair fell straight into his eyes, the rest of his hair pulled back into a ponytail. "Who are you?" I straightened my spine and stared at him, "I could ask you that, but I'm sure I wouldn't get a proper answer. Vampires never give me an honest answer." "You didn't answer my question, instead you insulted me." I saw the silver in his eyes harden and I fought the urge to take a step back. My father had always pounded into my head that vampires were predators and reacted as predators would, they smelled fear, and if you showed your weakness they would attack. Instead I tried to stare at him with haughtiness, but instead I only managed a weak annoyance and it didn't even bother him. I took a deep breath, "I am Lilith Vlaine, betrothed to Prince Damien Greyance." His eyebrows shot up in surprise, "So you are the little human betrothed hmm?" I finally slouched a bit in annoyance, "Cripes, would everyone quit calling me the little human! Geeze I look like big bertha against those other three stick figure vampire girls." The vampire took a step forward and I stared into his eyes unflinching, which seemed to make him curious and amused. As I studied him I realized he couldn't be much older than I was and he was breath takingly hansom. I felt my pulse quicken for a moment before I took a deep breath to calm it. What the hell was I doing, I was supposed to be getting married in a few months and here I was getting twiterpaited by some random vamp. "You aren't nervous by my eyes?" I returned my attention to his eyes and shook my head, "Why would I be, its refreshing to not be the only person here without black eyes." "You are peculiar." I looked at him and scoffed, "Yes, I know. Thanks for being polite in saying that the fully human offspring of a royal family is just peculiar, I imagine I'm going to be hearing a lot worse before this is all over with." The vampire stepped towards me only centimeters from me, "That is not what I meant." I finally stumbled back a step my heart pounding in my ears as I looked at the young grey vampire, "W..what do you mean?" He snickered and turned on his heel and walked away leaving me grabbing the side of the hall and holding my chest, trying to calm my rapid beating heart. My aunt found me moments later and the look of absolute worry crossed her face as she took in my state, "Did something happen." "A guy, he was so, abrupt...and unusual." "ohm, no no no, you are here for one vampire guy only miss Lilly, so you straighten up, and fix that palpitating heart of yours and move along, and do not ever lose me again." I nodded turning to follow her and took a few steps before I turned my head and saw the sneer of pure hatred on the face of the beautiful Desmond. I turned back around and worked on calming myself down, focusing instead of the most interesting pair of gray eyes I had ever seen. When we reached the rooms my aunt threw herself across the bed with her arm over her face in what looked to be a very dramatic posture, "Lilly you will be the absolute destruction of me. I nearly fainted when I saw you weren't behind me." "I'm alright, just stumbled, you were moving too fast for me to keep up in this ridiculous dress. Now explain to me why the other three get to wear beautiful, breath taking, revealing, modern dresses, and I'm stuck in a Victorian, full length, nightmare?" "Well I am quite close friends with Margarette, whom you met. She's Desmond's great aunt. It was her, that had informed me of how stiff the competition with her niece was going to be, but I had no idea that Desmond worked so fast. It seems that the little, blonde, nightmare has already made it into the Princes bed, which puts the rest of the betrothed, and ESPECIALLY you, at a great disadvantage. But having anticipated something like this, was the reason why you are in that dress." "Why again?" "Well, darling, the Prince was moving about the ball watching all four of you girls. Making a point not to be noticed, and all he saw of you was an amazing set of curls, and a great figure covered in lace. At the courting commencement ceremony you will be bearing your entire body to be observed, he will be more interested in yours than the others simply because he has seen far, far less of yours than the others." I winced as she began to pull out the commencement ceremony outfit that I was going to wear, "Alright Lilly we have one hour to make you look like a princess." And with that she began to bath and demand I shave my legs, my underarms and to my horror, my sex. When I had fully bathed and shaved she began to help me get into my lingerie. It was a tight see through corset of white lace that had no frills on it and laced up with a sheer ribbon up the back. I straightened as my 34 DD breasts were squeezed to their full glory, my smallish pink nipples hardening underneath the constant rubbing of the material. Sheer white stockings were snaked up my legs and the lacy tops rested on my thighs and were attached to the garter ribbons hanging from the corset. I had already put on the completely see through thong and watched as my aunt undid my hair putting the combs carefully away before ruffling my curls and then pinning them back up in a very messy, yet oddly sexy, up do. She put a small bit of lip gloss on my lips to highlight their natural pink shine then without much warning she slapped me on each cheek. I stared at her stunned and she smiled, "I cant put makeup on you, and you needed a bit of blush. Your not ivory, you're tan so it takes a bit more than a pinch to get your cheeks red." I wasn't going to wear shoes, which would be the opposite of the other three, who would be wearing tall, spiky, hooker heels. And the last touch to it all was a black silk robe to wrap all of me in. My aunt was all too aware of how human I was, and after asking around, found that the council rooms would be cold, along with the entire castle, which meant I could get sick being as naked as I was. So to compensate for the times I would be forced to be naked my aunt had fashioned a silk robe for me to wear to the council chambers. It was fur lined so I felt very warm and safe in it. We walked quickly to the chambers, my feet feeling the cold trek with every step we took, "You know hooker heels sound kinda nice about now." My aunt looked down at my feet, "Are they really cold?" I shrugged, "Its uncomfortable, but not unbearable yet." "Okay, chin up, in we go." We stepped into the council room, which looked more like a large private office with a long desk sitting in front of me. The four council members sat at the long desk and I was relieved to see that someone had taken the time to put a very plush, rug down for all four of the betrothed to stand on. I stood waiting, the first one to arrive, and slowly the other three arrived wearing black see through lace, their slender, angular frames on proud display underneath different styles of lingerie. They looked at me startled by my robe but remained quiet as we all waited. Finally the vampire I had met in the hall strode in, grey eyes flashing as he looked at the four of us. He bowed to the council members and stepped off to the side waiting silently for the council members to begin the meeting. A very old vampire stood up and stared past my shoulder to who I could only assume was my aunt, "You were told she needed to wear something that we can see her in? You were made aware of the laws?" "Yes your grace, it is just that she is human, and there fore significantly more susceptible to the temperature of the rooms, there for in order to keep her out of harms way, she needed to wear something warm until it was the appropriate time." "Aw, yes, I received your request. I can fully appreciate the situation now, we have staff working on making the castle a bit more...friendly to our little guest." I bit back and frown at his comment, and looked to the side of him seeing grey eyes looking at my reaction with a glint of amusement, "That being resolved, Isadora, she needs to present herself as the others do." I nodded and untied the robe, letting my aunt slip it off of my frame. It was obvious that no one expected white, because there was a mutual intake of breath as the four old vampires stared at me stunned for a moment before clearing their throats and turning to the grey eyed vampire. I started to feel a sense of dread as I began to realize who the vampire was, and I kept replaying the meeting in the hall in my head, wondering just how big of a fool I had seemed to be to him. The Prince nodded and the oldest vampire pointed to Desmond and announced her name telling her to come forward so the prince and council could inspect her body. She strode forward with confidence and didn't flinch as the Prince put his hands on her body, lifting her arms and hair and turning this way and that. The scene repeated for the other two girls and finally it was my turn. My heart began to thud violently against my chest as I stepped forward and felt my body be devoured by the council as well as the Prince. He gently touched me, lifting my arms and turning me this way and that, and after being dismissed he kept staring at me. I stopped listening to the council members as they grilled my chaperone on my health and family, instead focused on the intense silver stare I was receiving, feeling his gaze, like his cold hands, brushing along my body. My breathing increased a bit as the cold feeling of his eyes turned into a warm sensation in the pit of my stomach. I couldn't look away from his eyes, and he refused to stop his eyes from wandering my body. My aunts touch snapped me out of the hypnosis the prince was causing as the council members sat down and started the conclusion of the meeting. "Now Prince, as per tradition you take each girl with you to your chambers one night for each girl, so that you can gain their scent, should you need to track them. Which girl will it be tonight." I refused to look at him, sensing that Desmond had already assumed it would be her. But as I heard her take a small step forward the velvet voice said my name and both Desmond and I stared at him in shock. The council chuckled, having not been as oblivious to the display between Prince Damien and I, as I had thought they had been. "Very well, then the lady Desmond shall be next, followed by lady Yuki, and then lady Elizabeth. Thus concludes this ceremony, Isadora, I wish to speak with you." My aunt nodded putting her hand on my elbow and propelling me into the hands of the Prince, before turning and following the council out. I ignored the very intense prickly feeling I got on my back at being glared at by three sets of eyes and felt the Prince grab my wrist and pull me out with him. When we walked out a cheer and a groan welcomed me into the hall as the whole vampire population seemed to be crammed into the hall. When they saw me with the Prince money began to exchange hands as a lot more groaning than cheering happened. I was happy to see for a brief moment that my four family members seemed to be receiving the majority of the bet as well as congratulations and invitations to dinner. I smiled at them and they waved mouthing a good luck before I was yanked into another room. The Prince let my wrist go and walked further into his room removing his outer jacket and taking his boots off before collapsing onto the couch. He looked irritated as he looked past me to the door, "Idiots." I moved forward and put my hands on the back of a chair, "Why do you call them idiots?" "Betting like that, they should be ashamed." I chewed on my lip pondering his words before shrugging, "I bet it was boring waiting for the whole thing to be over with. I don't begrudge them a bit of entertainment and it seemed harmless enough." His eyebrows rose, "You realize they were betting against you being the one I chose." I couldn't help but smile, "They had a 75 percent chance I wouldn't be the one coming out. It was good odds. And what's important is that once again, I beat the numbers and my family bet on me, so they made out pretty well too." The Prince looked at me quietly for a moment, just long enough for the cold room to finally get to me and a shiver run down my body. His eyebrows shot up again as he stood up and disappeared into the other room, coming back with a blanket that he threw over my shoulders immediately. He sighed and I looked at him as he stood in front of me, "I'm sorry, I know its annoying, trying to remember all the human stuff." "Yes, it is." I nodded and looked around. "I will be honest I don't know what the council meant by you getting my scent and what not, but I figured we get that out of the way and I can go back to my rooms." The Prince looked at me then shook his head, "You have to stay the night, the entire night, until noon tomorrow." I stared at him shocked, "Oh, okay." I shifted from foot to foot feeling awkward and finally the prince grabbed me and pulled me to the couch to sit with him. He stared out the window watching the birds fly out of sight and I pulled my legs up and folded them to my chest wrapping them in the large blanket as well setting my chin on my knees. "You don't remember me do you?" I jumped a little at the Princes velvet voice then shook my head looking at his profile, "No, should I?" "We were play mates until you left, how could you not remember?" I sighed, "The last time I was in the hospital was for head trauma, I don't remember much, if any part of my life before moving to Idaho." He turned to look at me, his eyes full of an emotion I couldn't quite place, "Honestly?" I nodded, "Did we like each other, I mean were we friends?" He turned away from me without saying anything and I felt a deep sense of sadness roll off of him. I found it odd for a vampire to be so open with their emotions, but after a while I began to realize he wasn't open, he just was really easy for me to read. I reached out and laid my hand gently on his shoulder. Courting a Vampire Ch. 04 "You shouldn't do that." "Do what?" He turned and looked at me his eyes growing darker, "Be so comforting, so soft." I pulled my hand back and sighed resting my chin on my knees, "My dad said that to me all the time. I don't think he was ever more disappointed with how absolutely human I am." I peeked from the side of my eye and saw that I had Damien's attention so I continued, "I cant help but be comforting. Its all I ever wanted really, for someone to comfort me after being yelled at for the millionth time about how human I was. Or seeing my parents disappointed faces every single time I take a salad instead of a bloody steak." "Well it seems you will do nothing but disappoint them again while you are here. Perhaps that is why your aunt is here and not your mother." I stared at him open mouthed shocked by how cruel he sounded. Before I realized it I was out of the blanket and standing above him delivering a resounding smack right to his cheeks. He was up in a flash and grabbed both of my wrists and slamming me against the window, "How dare..." I felt the first of the tears roll down and I struggled against him iron hold, "You jerk, you absolute ass hole." He shook me briefly yelling for me to stop it before I finally calmed down and he glared down at me, his silver eyes now steal, "you think just because of who your mother and father are that you can strike me?" "No, I don't think my mother and father give me a reason to strike you. I think you being an absolute prick gives me the right to strike you." I fought panting and felt his body pressed against mine as he pinned me to the window. The cold of the glass and the cold of his body overwhelmed me and I began to shake. Prince Damien groaned in disgust and released me flinging me back to my blanket. I refused to put it on, instead standing up and glaring at him. Chocolate eyes glared down steel eyes as I worked on catching my breath, my heart still beating from the sudden fight I was having with the Prince. It was only as I started to calm down and my breathing slowed that I realized the Prince had stopped looking at my face and had started roaming my body again. I took a step back and he took a step forward and I stepped back into the chair falling into it. I was quickly up and out of it as he strode two more steps towards me and I put it between us as I made a dash for the door. I should have known it wouldn't work, before my hands even reached the door I felt myself lifted and thrown over Prince Damien's shoulder. I shouted and punched at his back, trying to get out of his strong hold, only to be tossed onto a bed of dark, down bedding. I sat up and stared at him frightened as he pulled his shirt off and sat on the bed. I shivered now not from cold but from fear and watched him take a deep breath. "Why are you so afraid?" "Why do you think, you attacked me." He chuckled, "I distinctly remember you striking me." "I..im sorry." He became serious and shook his head, "Don't be, I thought maybe with a little finesse you would be able to handle this, but I don't think that will work in the amount of time I have." I looked at him my fear notching up a bit. He moved blindingly fast and had me on my back my hands shackled above my head and my legs shackled wide apart. I cried out in fear and struggled against the restraints. His hand touched my stomach and he stared me in the eye. "I will not hurt you, I swear it. But there are certain things we have to do, in order for me to get your scent and taste. And it is something I'm sure you were not told about, unlike your competition." "W..what are you talking about." His lips pressed against mine and I turned my head trying to ignore the sudden warmth that his kiss had created in my stomach. He turned my head and kissed me again, this time keeping me from turning away with strong fingers holding my chin. His tongue was warm and licked across my lower lip before leaving my lips and kissing down my jaw and neck. His fingers reached up and tweaked one of my small pink nipples with his fingers, sending a charge of electricity and heat to my stomach and down to the junction between my legs. I gasped and he locked his lips back onto mine, his lips milking a response from mine until I couldn't remember why I didn't want to kiss him. The kiss deepened until we were both desperately locked in the kiss, his tongue caressing mine as I sucked on it. His lips working at mine until I was moaning soft moans into his mouth. He broke the kiss and sat up looking at my now heaving chest. I watched as liquid, silver eyes looked away from chest to my eyes before grabbing the top of the corset and ripping it down the front, yanking it off and freeing my breast. He grabbed the left orb, rubbing and kissing it, avoiding the nipples and instead nipping close to them. He did this with both breast until finally his mouth locked onto one nipple and I gasped as his warm tongue danced around the already tight bud, his fingers pinching and pulling on the one until his mouth switched and he was licking and sucking on the other one. The junction between my thighs grew hotter and hotter as he fondled my breast, and I moaned in pleasure. He began kissing down my stomach, never stopping from twisting and tugging on my nipples until he reached the hem of my sheer panties. With a flick of his wrist the panties were ripped off and he smiled up at me. "You smell divine." I gasped out a thank you as he began to nibble and kiss my inner thighs. He looked at me once before lowering his face and taking a long lick up my slit. I gasped in surprise and pleasure, I had never had anyone do that to me before. I felt strong fingers pull my lips apart and another warm, rough lick slid up my now dripping slit. I gasped, "Oh gods" and he chuckled before licking just outside of my opening. I groaned trying to lift up but being unable to because I was tied. I felt the shackles removed and then felt a two hands grab each leg and rest them over his shoulders as he leaned down and began to lick my slit up and down. I moaned and writhed in pleasure, feeling a build of heat and electricity inside me. He locked his lips onto my pussy and began to suck, nursing the juices out of me, and delving his tongue as deep as he could into me. I began rocking against him as his tongue darted in and out of me, fucking me. I gasped and felt my body tense as a surge of heat flooded me and electricity bounced through me. I arched my back and moaned in pleasure. As I came back down I realized that Damien hadn't released my pussy from his lock, and was instead sucking and drinking my juices, the look on his face causing the heat to begin to build in me again. His tongue delved in as deeply as he could until he met resistance. I almost cried out when he broke his lock on me and looked at me. "Lilly, are you a maid, a virgin?" I nodded looking at him and wondering if something was wrong. He groaned in what seemed like misery before kissing my body over and over as I slowly calmed down from my first orgasm. He released my arms and I sat up seeing him trying to hide a frustrated look. "What is the matter?" Prince Damien smiled at me, his eyes the color of silver, "You tasted sweet, it was heady and addicting, and arousing, however, I didn't realize you were still a maid." He sighed and closed his eyes and covered his eyes with his arm. I looked at his beautiful chest and then looked lower, not surprised to see a very tight bulge straining against his pants. I leaned forward to kiss him, realizing what he was not doing to me at that very moment. Courting a Vampire Ch. 05 He sighed and closed his eyes and covered them with his arm. I looked at his beautiful chest and then looked lower, not surprised to see a very tight bulge straining against his pants. I leaned forward to kiss him, realizing what he was not doing to me at that very moment. He kissed me back passionately before flopping his head back down, refusing to do anything else. I reached out and touched his chest, my fingers running down the contours of each chiseled muscle. I looked up into his face, seeing his silver eyes glow as I continued to touch him, growing more confident with each touch. I leaned forward and kissed his stomach gently, feeling the contrast between how cold he is normally and how warm he had become, due to his arousal. I sat up and turned, straddling his panted leg, hearing him moan in frustration and I leaned forward and kissed down his chest, making a point that my breast trailed a line down his body too. Finally I kissed the edge of his pants and I looked up to see him watching me intently. I smiled at him and unbuttoned his pants, and pushed the zipper down. I reached inside and freed his straining member, seeing it stand proudly in the cool air. I looked at it curiously, having only seen one in porn before. It was large, and there was a large vein that ran from the tip all the way down disappearing into the black curly hair at the base. I saw a drop of clear fluid gather at the top and without thinking about it, I leaned forward and licked it. Damien gasped and I smiled tasting the sweet fluid on my tongue. It tasted wonderful and with no further teasing I began to lick the silky, velvet of the head of his cock. I licked down tracing the vein before licking back up, enjoying the spicy, musty scent of Damien, coupled with the velvety flesh against my tongue. "Hades Lilly, don't tease me like this." His words were a combined moan and plea and the sound turned me on. I leaned forward and wrapped my lips around the head of his member and began to slowly slide down him. He groaned loudly and thrust up, pushing himself down my throat. I swallowed and milked him, enjoying the dual sensation of his heat in my throat and the tickly spicy sent filling my nose. I settled there unmoving savoring the sensation before I started to pull up, sucking hard on him as I did so, he groaned again and before I could pop him out of my mouth, I slid down, my throat swallowing the hard member. I kept up the very slow pace, feeling the heat return to my slit, knowing I was probably starting to soak his pant leg. I loved the feeling of doing this, the control over Damien's pleasure, it turned me on. Finally, unable to take the torture anymore Damien grabbed a fist full of my curls and moved my mouth up and down, quickening the pace. I continued to enjoy it, caressing him with my tongue, and swallowing him each time. He ground his teeth and gasped trying to pull out of my mouth, but I felt his cock expand and I was greedy for more of his sweet taste, and instead locked onto him and sucked feeling the first blast of the hot seed fill my mouth. I kept stroking him with my lips until he no longer came and when he collapsed back I swished the cum in my mouth and around his softening cock. I loved the taste, I coated my mouth with the flavor before swallowing it and licking him clean, sucking all that was left in him. I sat up and looked at him licking my lips to taste the little bit I had on them. He stared at me stunned for a moment before grabbing me and flipping me under him. "Where did you learn that?" He hissed, now suddenly angry. I looked at him confused. "I didn't do it right?" He grabbed my shoulders and pinned me down, "Who taught you?" He sounded angry but also, territorial, and maybe even jealous. I smiled up at him and shifted so I could touch his face, "No one taught me." He narrowed his eyes, "Do not lie to me." I was moved by his sudden possessiveness, and I couldn't help but to beam at him, "I'm not, I learned online." He put a hand on each side of my face, holding it tightly but not painfully, "Who did you practice on." I closed my eyes waiting for him to let me go and eventually he did moving away from me entirely. I sat up and looked at him, his gaze out of the room, "Damien, I didn't practice on anyone. I just did what felt right with you." My smile faltered as his face didn't soften, "Did I not do it right? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to not do it right. It seemed like I was doing it right, that it felt good..." Damien reached out and pulled gently on a curl watching it spring back, "It more than felt good." He turned back around, his back to me. I looked at him and suddenly a flare of jealousy and insecurity hit me and I said coolly, "Was it not as good as Desmond's?" His back straightened instantly and he stood up and without a word walked into the bathroom and closed the door. I stared after him for a few moments then closed my eyes and shook my head. I was feeling territorial too, and I couldn't, he had to do this with three other girls, three vampires, with perfect bodies, and endless stamina. I began to pull my hair down, taking each hair pin out one at a time throwing them across the room muttering stupid to each of them. I was stupid, plink, stupid, plink, stupid, plink. I ran my fingers through my hair and then looked back towards the bathroom, Damien didn't seem like he was coming out anytime soon, in fact I heard the shower start running, so I sighed and wrapped a blanket around my shoulders and walked back out to the living room. I knelt down and looked through his movie collection picking out a relatively safe action movie and putting it in, bunching myself onto the black leather couch. A soft knock on the door tore me away from the previews and I looked back to the bedroom. The knock came again and I sighed, wrapped the blanket tighter around me, and opened the door peeking out and seeing a servant with a tray in his hand and a box in another. I opened the door fully and scooted back to let him in. The vampire kept his eyes off of me, and quietly put the tray and the box on the table and bowed low before disappearing out of the door. I looked at the closed door and shrugging, turned back to the table and quietly walked to it and took the silver cover off of the plate. I was happy to a cheeseburger and fries and sighed happily seeing the fry sauce off to the side. I covered the food up, and turned to the box. Before I could open the white box I felt a cold chill and looked up into a pair of soft grey eyes staring at me. "When did that come?" I shrugged, "Just a few minutes ago." His eyes narrowed, "You answered it like that?" I looked down at the thick black blanket wrapped around me, "Yeah, its not like he knew I'm naked underneath, he probably thought what every other vampire thinks when looking at me. Poor little human has to wear a blanket because she's cold." Damien straightened up and crossed the floor and I became very aware of the fact his hair was still wet and he was shirtless with a pair of black sweatpants swung low on his hips. I tore my eyes from the sight, coughing and feeling heat flush my face, looking up to see him smirking having noticed my admiration. "I'll have a servant in here to build a fire for you in a few moments." I nodded thanking him and his eyes shot up at the sight of the box. I smiled and shrugged, "Probably my aunt." He nodded and opened it pulling out a long, dark blue, silk night gown. He pulled out the small folded paper at the bottom and handed it to me. I opened it seeing my aunts flouncy writing. Sorry I didn't get a chance to warn you, I hope it went well. Let me know if you need anything, and try to remind Damien that you need to stay warm. See you tomorrow after lunch. I smiled and handed Damien the note, ignoring his surprise as he grabbed it and read through it. I opened the plate again and reached down and grabbed a fry popping it into my mouth before covering it again. "She is very protective of you. She treats you like a piece of crystal." I looked up and smiled swallowing and shrugging, "Yeah, I think my mother and father gave her the wrong impression of my limitations. Although, I do have to admit that this castle is ridiculously cold." He nodded and returned his attention to the silk nightgown in his hands, "You seem to like to flaunt how different you are." I reached forward and grabbed the dress, allowing the blanket to fall from me and I smiled up at him noticing him looking at my body, "I am different, and there's no hiding it so I might as well flaunt it as much as possible." I slipped the dress on and then put the blanket back around my shoulders and he shook his head, "There are certain expectations for royalty when it comes to clothing, and I'm pretty sure white is not among them." I laughed, "My aunt genuinely tried to put me in black, but it made me look bad. Which baffled even her, so at the suggestion of a very brow beaten French shop woman, I ended up in white. It was meant to grab your attention." His eyebrows shot up, "It certainly did, but it would be hard to not notice your body compared to the other three girls." I smiled and sat down in front of my food, while Damien removed the box and sat down in front of me. I bit into the burger and chewed slowly before sipping at a glass of water and swallowed, all the while feeling self conscious at Damien watching me intently. I looked over at him and shrugged, "You act like you have never seen a girl eating a cheese burger before." He smiled and shrugged back, "I haven't." "Are you serious? Did you get turned that young that you don't even remember a cheese burger?" His eyebrows furrowed and he shook his head, "I wasn't turned." I tilted my head curiously at him and bit a into a fry, "What do you mean you weren't turned, you're a vampire aren't you?" In answer, his fangs dropped and I shivered in deliciousness, the chill always got to me when a vampire dropped his fangs. He smiled at my reaction and in a blink was picking me up. I laughed and wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled at him as he carried me back to the bedroom. He parted the sheets and blanket and set me between them before climbing into bed next to me. I turned to him and he rubbed his thumb across my full bottom lip, "It was hard watching you eat, all I could think about was what you had done just a few minutes ago with this same mouth." I smiled at him and grabbed his hand pressing his palm against my cheek. I closed my eyes and breathed him in before settling down and opening my eyes, seeing his eyes turn a silvery storm. "Are you alright?" He nodded and laid down with me, slipping his arm underneath my head and pressing me to him. My eyelids grew heavy and I sighed, "You don't have to stay with me, I know you probably have more important things to do." He ran his fingers through my curls before running a finger down my face and along my jaw, "I find that I would rather be here with you." I sighed and buried my face into the crease of his neck and breathed deeply before falling asleep. I heard muffled voices and opened my eyes to see it was still dark outside. I couldn't be later than three in the morning and I reached out and realized that Damien wasn't in the bed with me. I sat up and got out of bed, silently padding to where I could hear the voices. I peeked out of the door into the living room and had to bite back a gasp. Wrapped around Damien was the long, white haired Desmond. I continued to watch trying to catch bits of their conversation. "You shouldn't be here." Damien unwound her arms from his neck. "Who will know? The little human is asleep right? If you had chosen me first, we would still be together in bed doing other things than sleeping." she pressed her body against his causing him to sigh and take a step back. She snapped her hands out of his grip and glared at him, "Why did you choose her first? Do you actually have feeling for the disgusting little creature." Damien shook his head and ran a hand through his hair, "its none of your concern." Desmond laughed, "Are you serious? You are a vampire prince, the first pure vampire, born in almost a hundred years. And you are seriously interested in a weak, pathetic mortal? And more importantly THAT weak, pathetic mortal?!?" "I choose her because her family has very strong lines, and more power than anyone gives them credit for. Think about it Desmond, I cant just flat out reject her, especially if I don't want a war on my doorstep. Instead I show her favor, and when I reject her, it seems like I gave it an honest shot. And I will do the same for Yuki and Elizabeth, and I expect you to be patient." Desmond leaned forward and kissed Damien, who pulled her close and kissed her in return. Now at this point I had two very usable options, the first would be to slink off to bed, and pretend it didn't happen, the human way. The other way would be to contact my aunt right away and let her know of the Princes and Desmond's plans, and have the council figure it out, the royal way. I, however, chose the short tempered vampire option in that I grabbed the nearest object, which happened to be a crystal vase and hurled it with amazing accuracy right into the side of Desmond's face. The vase shattered and stunned the two giving me time to run into the bedroom and grab the silver dagger that Damien kept at the head of the bed. I gripped the handle and turned just as Desmond was lunging at me. I raised the dagger and she froze, silver dagger pressing into her throat. Her eyes were a fathomless black in fury and mine had turned into a soft gold in response. I was panting and shaking from adrenaline and I pressed the tip forward causing her to lean back to avoid the deadly weapon. I may have a million weakness in being a human but I knew every single one of a vampires weakness, including a violent allergy to silver blades. Damien had appeared in a blink and was pulling Desmond off the bed, the both of us never breaking eye contact with each other. She hissed in fury at me and I stalked after her as Damien pulled her out of the room and to the front door. As he pushed her out of the door she lunged once more at me, "Be careful little human, that you don't find your neck snapped." I looked around Damien and glared at her, "Be careful little vampy that you don't drink silver dust next time you have a glass of blood." Both she and Damien froze and looked at me shocked and I pointedly looked at both of them before turning around and stomping back into the bedroom, taking a moment to slam the tip of the knife into the wood of the table before disappearing into the room. I walked into the bedroom and flung myself onto the bed, burying my face into my arms. I felt stupid and oh so human at this moment. I had seriously felt pain when he had said what he did to Desmond. I had thought that there had been something between us when he held me as I slept, but it was painful to realize it had all been a ploy to make sure my family didn't get upset. I felt the bed dip beside me and his hand touched the silk on my back I pushed his hand off of me and turned my face away from him, looking at the wall, "Leave me alone." He sighed and stood up and I heard the bathroom door click closed and I grabbed a pillow and screaming into it until I felt my voice getting hoarse. Then I grabbed the end and began to pummel the hell out of the rest of the bed with it, thumping it against the bed over and over again until all my fury was gone. All that was left was the raw pain in my chest. I sat looking down at the pillow panting, my tantrum causing me to gasp for air. "You have a very vampire temper for being a human." I looked up at Damien, angry quickly returning and I crawled over to the edge of the bed and straightened myself on my knees, "What do you care, you serpent." Damien's eyes flashed to a steel grey, "Be careful human." "Of what? You? It seems your more scared of my family than I am of you." He had his hands wrapped painfully on my arms in a blink of an eye, "Don't presume to know anything about me." I tried to twist out of his grip but he only squeezed my arms harder causing me to visibly wince before he released the pressure, "I don't presume anything, I listen to a snakes plan and then get pissed about it." He let me go and I fell backward and rubbed the redness on my arms, "I'm sorry I over reacted." I sighed and looked down on the bedding. Damien sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. "You shouldn't have heard what you did." I nodded, "I gathered that. I wish you would have told me before..." I paused and shook my head trying to clear it of the feeling of being with him, "Before we did what we did. If you would have told me I probably wouldn't have reacted that way." I looked up into his grey eyes and he regarded me curiously, "It is within your families power to start a war with me. That's why we were betrothed to begin with, your family hasn't been in power in a long time, but that doesn't mean that vampires have forgotten that they are descendants from the original, ancient line. To tie your line with mine would solve a lot of the disagreements between our families." "It sounds reasonable, but..." He shook his head and looked past me out of the window, "But you're a human, even if you seem to think a lot like a vampire." "Its hard not to think like a vampire when your whole family is vampire, and your dad drills it into your head how much of a non vampire you are." Damien chuckled, "You held your own enough against Desmond. I don't think when she saw you running, that you were grabbing the knife. And I wasn't aware you had noticed it when you went to sleep." I smiled and shrugged, " I felt it when I rolled onto your arm." His smile faded, "She threatened you, and I realized just how human you are, when I realized that she could snap your neck, and that you would die from it. And how human you are, that the idea of silver dust in a goblet of wine, really could happen. You wouldn't get sick or die from handling it, and no one would notice it had happened until the deed was done." I sighed and chewed the inside of my cheek, "Yeah, it's the one thing my father always told me was the only advantage I have." Damien reached out and captured a curl, tugging it and watching it spring back, "He was right." I leaned back out of Damien's reach and ignored the flash of steel in his eyes, "So what now?" He stood up and began to pace the room, "I don't know, what are you going to do?" "What do you mean, what am I going to do?" "It is within your power to have Desmond removed from the courtship because of the stunt she pulled. You can also reveal what I said to Desmond as well, and then the Council would have to decide what to do after that." "Wow, that gives me a lot of leverage over you doesn't it?" He gave me a dark look and nodded, "yes, I suppose it does." "Is that really your plan? To eventually marry Desmond without giving the rest of us a chance?" He slumped down and hunched his shoulders over, "I don't know, I have a lot of pressure from each family to pick their daughters." I inched forward and ran my fingers through his long black hair, "Who cares what the other family say, you should figure out who would be a good queen for your people, and a good wife for you." He captured my hand and turned around to face me, "Why are you being so kind to me? I betrayed you and your family." I shrugged and played with a knuckle on his finger, "I know vampire rules say I need to enact revenge or something, but honestly that takes way too much energy. I'm just a little human after all, and that kind of revenge is too exhausting." And if to emphasize the point I let loose with a huge yawn. Courting a Vampire Ch. 05 Damien pulled the blankets down and motioned for me to settle in. He tucked me in and walked to the door, "Where are you going?" He smiled down at me, "I have a few things to take care of. Sleep, and I'll wake you for breakfast." I smiled and thanked him before closing my eyes and falling deeply asleep. Courting a Vampire Ch. 06 A stream of sunlight landed on my face and I smiled, stretching awake. It took a moment to realize where I was but once I did I stretched my arms out to my sides and found Damien not there. I sighed and got up rubbing the tops of my sore arms before heading into the bathroom and taking a hot shower. I found a black towel and wrapped it around me drying myself off as best as I could. I opened the door and realized that the room was a lot warmer than earlier. I padded into the living room to see a large fire burning away and a plate of eggs and toast waiting for me on the table. I opened the note and smiled at the beautiful script on it. I am sorry that I cannot be with you for the remaining of the time I have you. I was spirited away due to a conflict in the North. I will make it up to you when I return. I already took Desmond with me, so you needn't worry about her threat. Isadora should be arriving shortly. I will see you soon. Prince Damien I closed the letter and grabbed a piece of toast and bit into it, holding it in my mouth as I grabbed the handle of the knife I had noticed still in the table and yanking hard, pulled it out. I touched the edge of the blade then set it in my lap as I finished my breakfast. My Aunt stormed into the room just as I was finishing looking around furious. "He has some nerve to skip out on almost half of the time with you. Then taking that little tartlet with him." I smiled at her, "Don't worry about it, he said he would make it up, and I'm glad she's gone." "Yes, well..." She looked around the place her eyebrows shooting up and staying up in surprise. I followed her with my eyes as I drank the last of the orange juice, "He really accommodated you, didn't he?" I stood up and walked to her, "What do you mean?" "Well all the blankets for one thing. Most of the time vampires don't have pillows or blankets on anything other than the bed, the fire, and he even put in a television." I laughed and shook my head, "We didn't watch it." She suddenly turned and grabbed my hand, worry marring her features, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I didn't expect him to pick you first. Are you alright?" She looked me over, noticing the faint bruising on my upper arms but seemed satisfied that I was unharmed, "I am just fine, just would like to get dressed, honestly." She smiled and grabbed the plastic bag she had set on the couch when she had walked in, "Care to divulge some details?" I shook my head as she unzipped the bag revealing a dark blue satin dress, "Nope." She laughed and helped me into the dress and picked through my hair as I brushed my teeth. She started to pick up the room and picked up the scraps of the lace corset holding it up, "Oh my." I blushed as she continued to hunt around finding the ripped panties shortly after. She giggled and put them in the top drawer of the night stand, "We'll just leave these here for him." I covered my face with my hands and ran out of the room, too embarrassed to say anything. My aunt followed me laughing as she gathered a few remaining things in the room and left. ******* The next few days were uneventful, whatever was happening in the north kept the Prince away for the rest of the week, Desmond arrived as Yuki left, and I made it a point to avoid being alone in any of the halls. I explained to my aunt the knife and then Desmond's threat, manufacturing a story that she would possibly believe, she seemed to be thoroughly impressed, as she made it a point to strap it to my thigh in every single dress I wore. Eventually the Prince did return, and upon his return there was a huge ball thrown, Elizabeth had already been back for three days and the ball was not only to commemorate the Princes return, but to also commemorate the beginning of the courtship. I had asked my Aunt how I would go about courting the Prince and all she could tell me was that I needed to be proactive and seek the Prince out as often as I could, rather than waiting for him to find me. The night of the ball she dressed me in a form fitting, midnight blue, velvet dress. It had a slit up to my hip on one side, and on the other my knife was strapped. My hair was pulled up into a French twist with blue diamond encrusted combs pinning it into place. The front of the dress dipped into a low scoop, and thanks to a strong push up bra, my cleavage held center stage. Sitting on my collar bone was my blue diamond necklace and long diamond earring dangled from my ears. My aunt left shortly after getting me ready, telling me she had to meet with the family over a few things, and left me to find my way to the ball. I decided then, that it would be a wise idea to be proactive and instead of making my way to the ball I made my way to the Princes chambers. I lifted my hand to knock but saw that the door was cracked open and I sighed, thinking that either someone was already with him, or that he had already left. I had missed him, and still hadn't seen him since his return, so I entered quietly, hoping to catch a brief glimpse of his face, if nothing else. I heard a groan coming from the room and my heart beat faster realizing that I may not have been the only proactive betrothed in the castle. I debated whether to leave, but the desire to see his face was overwhelming and I couldn't help but to peek around the corner into his room. What I saw stunned me, the Prince was alone, wearing nothing but a pair of pants fallen to his ankles. He was sitting on the bed and one hand was working up and down on the glorious member I'd had multiple dreams about. But it was what was in the other hand that stunned me, in his other hand were the panties my Aunt had left him, he had them pressed to his face and was breathing them in deeply as he worked on his hard member. I stepped forward and with no thought what so ever knelt down in front of him and stopped his hand. His eyes flew open as he jumped startled until his silver eyes landed on my face. He lowered the panties from his face and I stood up enough to capture his lips with mine. He grabbed me and ravenously pressed my body to him, our mouths ravishing each other, saying with more than words how much we had missed each other. He broke the kiss and I pulled back sinking back to my knees and moving his hands away from his beautiful cock. I licked the glistening head, closing my eyes and tasting the sweet liquid that had pooled there. I licked down his member until I was to its base, and then I pulled away to look at the large, heavy, testicals hanging from him. I nuzzled them softly before licking up the textured flesh. He moaned and I looked up seeing him watching me, his eyes a pure, bright, glowing silver, and his fangs fully exposed. I opened my mouth and softly sucked in one ball, caressing it with my tongue before switching to the other. I nuzzled in the hair for a moment, breathing in his spicy scent before returning my attention to his now throbbing cock. I licked up the vein and swirled my tongue along the ridge of the head. I again licked at the pooling liquid at the tip and then slowly engulfed him in my mouth. He was hot, and the feeling of his thick shaft moving down my throat until my nose was buried in his curly black hair, was amazing. I felt my body respond by heating up my stomach and the junction between my legs. I swallowed and nursed on him until I pulled up, sucking hard as I pulled him out of my mouth. He groaned loudly and grabbed the back of my head and pushed me back down. I inched as close as I could and began to move up and down on him, swallowing in pleasure as his hot shaft reached into my throat, and sucking hard as it pulled out. Soon Damien was moaning my name and I felt my slit drip wet as his member thickened and his hot seed filled my mouth. I moaned and stared straight into his bright silver eyes, as I suckled on him, draining every last bit I could from him before releasing him and licking my lips clean. He groaned at seeing me and grabbed the back of my head and forcefully pulled me against his mouth. He attacked my mouth, sucking and nipping at my lips, and I did the same in return, gasping and moaning as his tongue ravished mine. Too soon he pulled away and held me away from him. I set my hands down onto his knees and sank back onto my folded legs, sitting and waiting patiently for him. He ran is hand over his face and his, still, silver eyes looked at me, his fangs in plain view. I shuddered and smiled at him, "I missed you." He frowned and stood up pulling his pants up and fastening them quickly. I stood up and followed him into his closet watching him pick a black button up shirt and putting it on. He buttoned it up without looking at me and I stood in his way in the door way. Finally he looked up at me and I nodded, "I can leave if I'm bothering you." He shook his head and softly pushed passed me and walked into the bathroom and pulled his hair back. I walked in with him and looked in the mirror, fixing the few stray hairs that had escaped my hairdo. He walked out and I continued to straighten myself out before nodding then walking out, seeing him put on his boots. He wouldn't look at me and I sighed and walked to the door, "I'll leave you to it then." I turned and walked out getting only three steps before warm, strong arms wrapped around me, "Don't go yet." I turned in his arms and looked at him, "Okay," laid my head against his chest and then kissed the nape of his neck before he dropped his arms and turned away, finishing getting dressed. I sat on the edge of the bed and watched him pull cuff links out and put them on and then pull out a very formal looking jacket and put it on. I played with my necklace catching Damien's eye. "I have been hearing a lot of things about you, while I was away." I looked up at him curious, "I'm surprised you heard anything up where you were at. What was it?" He nodded to me, "That this particular shade of blue seems to be you favorite color." I smiled, "It is, and silver, blue and silver." His eyes narrowed, "Silver huh?" I ignored his sudden mood change and leaned back on my hands thinking back to my room back home, "Yes, my whole house is black and red except my room. I have these beautiful blankets that are just the perfect dark blue and then stitched all through them are silver stars and flowers. They are my absolute favorite." "Tell me more about your home." He sat next to me and I smiled at him and sat up. "Well the canopy of my bed is this light blue, and then this rich emerald green. I didn't used to like green but one year the farmers that owned the fields around our house all decided to plant wheat at the same time." I sat up and waved my arms in front of me, "The whole world was just this beautiful sea of deep green, that would wave in the breeze. It was amazing, it was so green that it even filled the house with green, every time the sun was out, the house was filled with green. Then the wheat turned golden yellow and it was just amazing, I felt like I lived in a sea of gold for a while." I leaned back on my arms, "I didn't go to school, like the rest of the humans, I went mostly online. We lived in the middle of no where, the nearest house being a good three miles away. I spent a lot of time learning how to be a proper vampire princess from my mother." I gave Damien a sideways look and smiled, "obviously I ignored those lessons. I also learned different things too, like vampire history, my families history, and self defense." Damien looked down at the black watch he wore and sighed, "We need to get going." I stood up and straightened my dress and Damien grabbed my hand, "Thank you." I leaned forward and brushed my lips gently against his before straightening up and smiling at him, walked out of the room. I walked to the ballroom and was instantly the center of attention as hundreds of pairs of black eyes turned to look at me. I straightened my back and glided to the best of my abilities to the area where my aunt told me to meet her. I tried to subtly check myself, making sure I didn't have any evidence of what had happened on me before being grabbed into a bone crushing hug by my aunt. She whispered into my ear, "We have a problem." I pulled back looking at her and to nodded towards three very tall men, the most noticeable having dusty blonde hair, a full beard, and sharp green eyes. I knew instantly there were Lycans, wolves most likely, or maybe even lions. I gave my aunt a dark look, "I thought that was what the Prince was up North taking care of." My aunt shifted uncomfortable and gave my four relatives a very black look, "They are here for you." I spun around and grabbed my aunts hand and glared into her black eyes, "What?" "It seems that while my side of your family has offered your hand to the Prince, your mothers side has been talking to the Lycans about you marrying one of their leaders sons." "What do you mean?" My cousin stepped forward and pulled the two of us back a few more feet into the shadows, "My uncle, your uncle, has been up north working on peace with the Lycans. He had mentioned that you were human, not vampire, and that because of that reason, the marriage oath was changed to allow the Prince an option of choosing a vampire instead of you. When he said that the Lycan leader was immediately interested, my uncle has basically promised that if you aren't chosen by the Prince, then you will be married to one of his sons." She nodded to the three Lycans and they zeroed in on the movement their green eyes locking with mine. They all smiled and I felt my pulse begin to quicken as I backed up into my cousin. I began to look frantically for a place to run to, only partially noticing Damien making a very obvious, straight line to the three men. I started to shake as I realized I was cornered and suddenly my aunt was in front of me looking at me worried, "Lilly?" I didn't look at her, but instead kept my eyes zeroed in on the lethal movements of the three men that were getting too close. Suddenly I couldn't catch my breath, and the world began to spin before the edges of my vision blackened. I was panicking, I had never panicked this much before in my life, but their movements, their bodies, everything, was different than anything I had seen before. My aunt was tugging on my hand, "Breathe Lilly, Lilly?" She looked past my shoulder, "What's wrong with her?" I felt my legs give out and my aunt caught me suddenly realizing I was fainting, "Oh my Hades, someone, get a glass of water or something. NO NOT BLOOD YOU IDIOT!!!" It was the last thing I heard as the blackness at the edge of my sight moved to cover my entire vision, and my body went slack. I felt cool hands on my face, as another set of hands lifted my head and water was poured onto my lips. I opened my eyes staring straight into the familiar black eyes of my aunt, the worry lines on her face fading as she saw me wake up. "Oh thank all that is undead, I thought you died." I took a few more sips before sitting up and recognizing I wasn't in the ballroom anymore. I grabbed my Aunts hand, 'What happened?" My aunt chewed on the inside of her cheek and looked down at me worried, "Promise not to faint again?" I nodded, "I'm not being stalked by some over sized lion looking man with no place to run." My aunt sat down with a huff, "Well, the Prince went up north because the Lycans leader had told him he wanted to make peace. So of course, the Prince went and when he was there he was told about your Uncles offer of your hand should the Prince not want you. This was, of course, an inappropriate time to discuss that sort of thing because the Prince had just met you. So instead the leader gave him an ultimatum, if he would allow three of his sons to court you, as you and the three vampires courted him or else..." "He agreed?" Was all I could squeak out before my aunt hushed me. "It was that or full on war Lilly, which would you have picked?" I nodded accepting that the ultimatum left little to be desired. "Someone could have warned me." "Well I was going to but you had disappeared out of the room, and I couldn't find you in the ball room either." I looked around and realized I was in an office lying on a soft leather sofa, "Where am I?" "Damien's study, he told me to send for him when you woke, which I did so he should be here soon." My aunt looked at me strangely for a moment, "is there something you need to tell me before he arrives?" I looked at her confused, "What do you mean?" "Well, his reaction to you fainting was pretty, obvious. He about killed the three Lycans, thinking they had attacked you. On top of that, when I picked you up, you are absolutely covered in the Princes smell." Before I could say anything the door opened and the Prince strode in looking over my entire body as if trying to find a mark. I stood up and narrowed my eyes at him, ignoring the crowd, watching from just outside the door. "You..." I hissed and was promptly grabbed by the shoulders and held immobile as I tried to kick Damien in the shin, 'You could have warned me!!" My aunt quickly walked to the door closing it, "Nothing to see, you would be pissed off too if you found out..." Her voices faded as she walked out of hearing distance. "You are right, I should have. I didn't expect them to be here so soon." He held onto me as I tried to aim another kick at him. "And so when you get Desmond, I end up with some fricken Wolf, or Lion or whatever those guys are." Damien ground his teeth together, "I didn't have a choice." I slumped down defeated and Damien quickly picked me up and sat me on the couch next to him, "I know about your choice, my aunt told me. Its just, you may not have much of a choice, but I don't have any choices." I felt tears well up and fall down my cheeks, "I feel like some prized cow being sold off to the highest bidder." Damien didn't say anything, and instead let me cover my face and weep for a few minutes before the door burst open. I automatically jumped up with a cry and grabbed at my dagger, assuming the Lycans had come for me. I held the knife up only to see Desmond glaring daggers at me. I moaned and slumped back down next to Damien and played with the tip of the dagger as he grabbed her and pulled her to just outside the door. I didn't hear much of the conversation beyond Desmond whining about needing a dance partner and how I would be fine with my aunt, but Damien said something to her and eventually she left. I was starting to entertain some pretty morbid thoughts about the dagger when Damien grabbed it silently from me. I looked up at him startled and he touched my chin, "I didn't like the look you were giving it." I moaned and slumped back, "Its an option." not really meaning the words as they came out, I was being sullen, and I figured I had every right to be, damned undead!! "No its not." Damien's voice was cold and I ignored it, covering my eyes with my hands. He sat back down beside me and grabbed my hands holding them in his, "I sorry this has happened." I nodded, "I know, its my uncles fault, not yours." He nodded, "I will introduce you to the three of them, and I wont leave your side while you speak with them. It will be good for you to get to know them." I swallowed a lump in my throat, Damien was trying to get me to like one of the suitors so that he could marry Desmond without guilt. I nodded and stood up, taking a deep breath, and putting the dagger away. I took another sip of water then straightened my shoulders, "Alright, introduce away." We walked into the ball room, arm in arm and he led me directly to the three Lycans. They bowed and apologized for frightening me and eventually introduced themselves, as Lucas, the tall one with the sandy blonde hair and full beard, he was the Lycan leaders second son. The third son was William, he was quieter and darker than his brothers, but smiled and bowed low to me saying very little and not lingering over me at all. The last one was Gabriel, the youngest, he was about my age but stood a good foot taller than me. He bent down, and smiled at me, kissing my hand, his green eyes sparkling with amusement. His fingers were long and slender, making me think of an artists hands rather than a warrior princes hands. I smiled back at him and the other two groaned and traded coins with each other. Courting a Vampire Ch. 06 I looked back to Damien but his eyes were the color of steel as he stared at the three, and kept his hand on the small of my back and I got a sense of possessiveness as well as protectiveness from the gesture. I turned and thanked him for helping me and nodded to a fuming Desmond, he looked at her then back at me, his face flashing with conflict before nodded to me and dropping his hand. "If you need anything..." He let the sentence hang and I thanked him. I turned back to the suitors and suddenly felt very overwhelmed by how they towered over me. They all three smiled and offered to take me to the balcony for fresh air. I thanked them and followed Lukas, William and Gabriel flanking me on either side. I turned my head looking at them confused and Gabriel shrugged, "it's a pack thing, its not threatening." 'Um, Okay." It was weird, but probably harmless. At least that's what I told myself. We all stepped out onto the balcony and I took a deep breath, feeling the cool breeze cut through me but enjoying the fresh air anyway. "Its pretty strange." I looked at William curiously, "What is?" "Well, your uncle made it sound like you being born a human was more of an embarrassment than anything else. But as soon as we arrived the whole place has been scrambling to make sure your safe. I don't think anyone even thought about the other three betrothed." Lukas nodded agreeing with his brother. "We came here thinking you would be brow beaten at the least, maybe we could be your dashing saving heroes. Instead we get rumors about you being the precious blue diamond princess." I moaned and rolled my eyes, "My aunts to blame for that one. She plays up how unique I am, and if there's anything a vampire loves, its to possess something unique." All three brothers nodded, "Yeah, we were pretty surprised actually to hear about you. It isn't every generation one of you is born, but to have two of you born in the same generation, is pretty special." Gabriel sat on the edge of the balcony and nodded, "Yeah, not only is the great Prince born a vampire, something that hasn't happened in, what did the old coot say? A century?" The two brothers nodded, "But then a human is born from two vampires and that hasn't happened in about a millennium. For creatures that prize rare things, the Prince really doesn't seem to appreciate you." They all agreed and I narrowed my eyes at them, "So you are here to charm me into marrying one of you?" They nodded grinning, "Great, and what if I don't want any of you?" Luke rubbed his beard for a moment, "Well in a month if we haven't made any progress with you, one, two or three of our other brothers will show up and have a go at it." "How many of you are there?" "Not counting my older brother who is on his honeymoon right now, there are eleven of us, seven of us brothers, we have four sisters too." My jaw dropped, "Are you serious?" They nodded and I leaned back against the balcony, "Wow, that's a lot of kids." They laughed and Luke put his hand on Williams shoulder, "William here isn't interested in getting married, so no offense to you, but in a month he will be leaving. I was going to leave to, but..." His eyes roamed my body for a moment and he smiled wider, "I've had a change of heart." I looked at Gabriel who's squatting beside me on the balcony ledge, "And Gabriel?" Gabriel hopped down and held his hand out, "Gabriel wants to dance." I smile and hesitantly put my hand in his and shyly let him guide me back into the ball room. Damien and Desmond were already there dancing, and I looked at Gabriel who squeezed my hand gently, "Don't worry Princess I don't bite." I chuckle and let him pull me close and begin to move to the music. I was surprised at how well he knew how to dance and by the end of it, the combination of dancing and Gabriel's constant snide remarks about the different vampires had me smiling and laughing with him. He spun me into another dance and continued to talk about himself and his seven brothers and four sisters. I felt the hair on the back of my neck rise and looked behind me to see steel gray eyes staring at me. I smiled at him and nodded before he turned away. Gabriel didn't miss the interaction and snorted, "His loss, he must be absolutely crazy to be dancing with that bleached out stick figure over you." I pushed Gabriel away a little as he leaned in too close and smiled, "I've been raised vampire my whole life, Desmond is stunning by vampire standards." He snorted and rolled his eyes, "Yeah, whatever, I got the better end of the deal anyway." I blushed and suddenly a cold hand was on my shoulder, "May I cut in?" Gabriel frowned but nodded, turning on his heel and stalking back to his brothers on the balcony. I turned and looked into steel grey eyes and smiled, "Hi." He spun me and then pressed me against him in a slow waltz, "You seemed to be enjoying yourself." I looked up at Damien and nodded, "They look worse than they are." "I don't like how that pup was looking at you." I sighed and put my hand on his chest and pulled back to look at him. We stopped moving as we stared at each other, "I'm just trying to make the best of the situation I'm in Damien." He closed his eyes for a moment and when he opened them again his eyes had returned to their grey, "I know, just remember that you are supposed to be courting me, along with them courting you." I smiled up at Damien, "As if I could forget." He's eyes flashed silver before he dropped my arms and stepped back. I looked after him, watching him grab Yuki's hand and move with her onto the dance floor. A very large hand dropped onto my shoulder and I looked up to see Luke staring darkly at Damien. "Wanna dance?" I laughed and nodded, "Sure." Courting a Vampire Ch. 07 I danced most of the night, only taking a break for water or fresh air with the three Lycans. They passed me to each other, and Damien stepped in only twice more before they monopolized me entirely. It was after midnight when I waved the flag of surrender and told them that I was exhausted. They laughed and passed coins to William before letting me know that they were camping out in the forest and would be back towards tomorrow afternoon. I thanked them and watched them bound out of the ball room and right off the balcony. My aunt was at my elbow the moment they disappeared. "You seemed to be having fun." I nodded, "They look worse than they are, or at least their hiding the worst of their natures around me." My aunt narrowed her eyes at the night sky, "I don't like how the big one and the bouncy little one stare at you." I nodded, "They are the only two serious about courting, the darker one isn't interested. Its funny you say that though, because that's, more or less, what Damien said." "Oh really?" My aunt smiled a very evil smile and I looked at her warily, "What are you planning." She shook her head, "Its my concern, you go sit down and wait for me, I have something to work out." And with that she grabbed her skirt and marched over to the four council members seemingly furious. She waved her arms and pointed to me more often than I would like and finally the council members nodded and she beamed at me in victory. I was quickly grabbed by my aunt and pulled through the halls and into the room. She had me strip and put on a very revealing white, silk lingerie, the length of which barely covered my ass. Pulled dark blue stockings up to my thighs and then wrapped a robe around me and pulled me out and shoved me protesting into Damien's room. I sighed as she closed the door and looked around spotting a familiar blanket waiting for me on the couch. I didn't know how long Damien would be at the ball but vampires could party all night so I picked out a funny romantic comedy and put the movie in watching as the familiar characters began to fall in love. Half way through the movie I fell asleep, exhausted from the evening of dancing. I woke up to the feeling of being lifted and looked into now familiar grey eyes and snuggled into him. He chuckled, "You should have slept in the bed, you will get too cold out here." "Sorry." He chuckled again as he laid me on the bed and pulled the blanket off of me only to wrap me in the blankets on his bed. I stretched and watched him slowly undress changing into the loose fitting pair of black sweats before crawling into bed with me. I slowly got out of bed and used the restroom, and walked back to the bed, catching the silver look in Damien's eyes as he looked at me. "Your killing me Lilly." I looked down at myself and blushed, "Sorry, my aunt." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me back into the bed, pulling the covers back over me, "Yes, I'm well aware of your aunts motives." I smiled and snuggled in noticing the purposeful distance between Damien and I. I sighed and lifted my head on my arm to look at him, "Your making the Lycan sleep outside?" He snorted, "No, they prefer it out there. You seemed to be having a good time though." I nodded, "Yeah, the are really funny about certain things." "For example?" I ignored the hard edge to his eyes and shrugged. "Women rule over them mostly. Like there are seven brothers and four sisters, but the ones who dominate the place are their sisters. And then they were talking about where they are from. They said it was right on the ocean." I flipped over onto my stomach and rested my head on my arms looking at Damien, "I have never seen the ocean except on an airplane. They said they would have no problem showing it to me, and they described how green it gets when its spring." I look had drifted and when I looked at Damien I saw the hard steel look in his eyes and I frowned at him, "What's the matter?" "It sounds like they will make you happy." I winced at the cold tone and flung the blankets off and got up, "I'm trying to make the best of a not so great situation. What do you want from me?" He sat up slowly and glared at me, the muscle in his cheek straining, "I don't want anything Lilly." I sighed and turned around crossing my arms over my body and I stood looking into his closet. I had to try and squish the feeling I had for him, the possessiveness, the need to see him, being happy when I pleasure him. I needed all of that to go away, I had deluded myself into thinking that I could have him, but his plan was solid. Desmond would be his wife in six months and I would be bartered off to the Lycans. I felt his hands on my waist and he turned me to face him, but I refused to look at him and he dropped his hands, "I'm obligated in many ways Lilly. It would be nice to say that you have as equal a chance as the other three of being my wife and queen, but it would be a lie. At the end of the day you are still human." I looked down at him feeling the pain as he said what I just knew all along, "You know, the three Lycans say that vampires are idiots. That there hasn't been a human born between two vampires in almost a thousand years, that's better than your century. And that if you really prized rare things, I wouldn't be competing for what should rightfully be mine." He stood up and I turned and walked out of the bedroom grabbing my robe and putting it on, "Maybe Ill at least be valued there, with them." I heard a loud crunch and turned to see a very dark, steel eyed, Vampire Prince stalking angrily towards me. I took a step back and in a breath he had me by the waist and was flinging me, hard, onto the bed. He loomed over me, "Where are you going?" "Its none of your business." He's ground his teeth and knelt onto the bed, "Were you going to them?" I hid my surprise by the leap he had made from simply leaving and going to my room, to jumping to the Lycans. But I was angry and hurting and I wanted to see him hurt, even a little bit. "Again none of your business." He grabbed my hands and yanked them over my head pinning them and leaning down over me our noses almost touching, "Would you go to them dressed like this?" I gasped as held onto both my wrists with one hand and grabbed a hand full of the white satin in the other, "What do you care what I do?" He hand tightened onto the fabric and I listened to the material rip and he slowly yanked it from me. He stopped and looked down at my body running his hands down my side and down the middle of my chest, stopping at the dark lace panties. "Would you let them touch you?" He grabbed one of my breast and began to massage it flicking and pinching the nipple until it became a pink pebble. "You wouldn't care if they did." I gasped as he pinched my nipple, sending electricity directly to the center of my body. "You will not go to them like this." I was writhing on the bed as his hand switched to my other nipple and began twisting and pinching it. "What do you care?" He brought his mouth down to the nipple and sucked on it, nipping sharply at it. I moaned and he whispered in my ear, "That's none of your concern." I arched my back slightly as he sucked onto the other nipple, heat building inside of me, my slit drenching in response, "You have Desmond, you made that...very...clear." He continued to suck on my nipple and I felt his free hand begin to rub on my lace covered mound. I was losing my train of thought and when I looked into his eyes, they were turning more silver than steel. He released my nipple and hands and began to kiss down my body, "I'm glad you are clear, because I'm not so sure." I laced my hands into his hair and writhed against his soft mouth as it kissed all along the line of my panties, "Why are you not sure?" I gasped out. He pulled up leaving me feeling cold and I looked at him, seeing silver had completely replaced any other color in his eyes, "Because of this." His hand slipped into my panties and gently ran his finger up my slit causing me to moan loudly. "And this." His lips locked onto mine, his passion making him ravenous as he devoured my mouth and I moaned into his mouth as his hands both grabbed my breast and massaged them again. "Tell me to stop Lilly." I looked into his eyes, his beautiful, silver, glowing eyes and shook my head, "Tell me to stop, because I wont. I will make you mine, even if I cant keep you." I pulled his hair free and wrapped his silky black hair into my fingers and grabbed him to me, "No, don't stop." He groaned and recaptured my mouth, his body pressing against mine and his hands wandered down my curves hooking the edge of my panties and ripping them off. He released me and grabbed a hold of my leg and moving down until he could throw it over his shoulder. I looked at him and he smiled briefly before locking his mouth onto my dripping sex, licking at the juices and the flesh, daftly avoiding the spot that would bring me to an explosion. He continued to suck and lick, and I arched my back, trying to get him to focus on my release. He chuckled and kept refusing until finally I leaned forward and said throatily, "Dear Hades Damien, please stop tormenting me." He licked the entire length of my slit before finally locking onto the small bud and working it quickly. I cried out and arched my back the explosion causing me to tense up and moan deeply, he continued to attack the small part until I went limp, and he returned to suckling the juices from me. When he finished he kissed back up my body to the nape of my neck where he began to nip at the sensitive area. I felt the heat begin to build again as he kept kissing my body and pinching my nipples. All too soon I was arching into him again, the burning need back with a vengeance. I realized that it wasn't just his mouth I wanted on me, I wanted him inside me, I wanted him to scar me as his for the rest of my life and to feel as close to him as I could possibly be. I grabbed him and pulled him to me kissing him deeply, tasting the slight tang to his mouth. I looked into his silver eyes and whispered to him. "Please Damien...please...I need to feel you inside of me." A look of concern filled his eyes, "I cant Lilly." I kissed him and caressed his face, "Please Damien...I need you." He caressed my face, running his thumb across my lower lip, "It will hurt." I nodded kissing his thumb, "I know...but I need you, I trust you." He stood up and peeled his pants off, his beautiful member springing to attention. I couldn't help myself and I sat up and wrapped my hand around it, licking the sweet liquid pooling at the tip before wrapping my lips around it and swallowing him whole. He moaned and grabbed my hair holding me to him, keeping me from moving. I reached up and cupped his balls, fondling them gaining a gasp from Damien. "Stop Lilly..." I released him from my mouth and he pushed me back down and pushed my thighs apart with one of his. He reached down and ran a finger down my slit and I moaned and arched against him. He grabbed his cock and began to grind the head against me. I gasped at how hot it was and then he positioned it at my entrance. He grabbed my hand and laced his fingers with mine and we locked eyes as he slowly entered. I felt myself stretch as the head entered and once it was in Damien kissed the palm of my hand and then began to inch slowly forward until he reached the resistance of my virginity. He grabbed my hand tightly and thrust. I felt a rip and then an unbearable pain. I gasped out and turned my head trying to hide the pain from Damien. He grabbed my face and gently forced me to look at him, "Don't hide from me." I nodded and felt a tear drip down to my hair. He kissed me gently then inched further until he had filled me. My pussy walls clenched and unclenched trying to adjust to the size and feeling of him inside of me. He didn't move until I quit convulsing on him and then he pulled out only slightly and thrust back in slightly. I gasped at the feeling, it hurt and I wanted him to stop moving but he kissed my neck and whispered softly, "Just relax, it hurts but I promise it will feel better." I nodded trusting him and stared into his eyes as he took small, soft thrusts into me. A deeper kind of heat began to replace the pain and I released a moan as he thrust once more. He smiled and began to lengthen his strokes. Soon I was moaning with each stroke, every movement feeling like molten heat being poured along every inch of me. I began to meet his strokes and he was soon moaning in unison with me. I moaned his name and pulled his lips to mine, kissing him with the same passion that I was feeling with every thrust of him. He moaned into my mouth and I gasped into his until the building heat exploded and I arched my back and dug my fingers into his back, screaming his name. He cried out just as I did and we both convulsed our passions together until I laid back exhausted. He buried himself to the hilt in me and smiled down at me kissing me, "I hope your stamina improves." I purred a half conscious response to him and fell asleep. Courting a Vampire Ch. 08 I woke up to a cool hand rubbing along my entire body. I smile before opening my eyes, greeted by dark silver eyes and a brief but sweet kiss. I felt different and turned my face to the light streaming into the room. The cool hand caressed my cheek and I turned back to Damien to smile at him. I reached up and ran my warm fingers down the bridge of his nose and across his lips and leaned in to kiss him again. He inhaled deeply as I kissed him and then pulled away and got out of bed, "I'll start a bath for you, you are probably going to be sore." I nodded and moved my legs feeling for the soreness that I had always known would accompany this feeling. As I sat up I did, in fact, feel the pain that Damien had mentioned. I got up slowly and winced catching my breath and holding my self up by holding the bed post. Damien stood in the doorway watching me. "Is it really painful?" I shook my head and smiled reassuring him as best I could, "It isn't how bad the pain is, its that its new. I have never had this sort of pain before, so it just takes a bit to get used to. I'll be alright." I walked to him and wrapped my arms around him, concern still on his face, "Are you sure?" I nodded and kissed him softly, giving him small kisses across his neck. I ran my fingers through his long, black, hair, "Its kind of romantic, actually. Its like you left a scar in me. Something that will always belong to you, no matter what happens." He looked at me and grabbed me into a strong embrace, I rested my head on his chest, closing my eyes and smelling the spicy scent that was uniquely him. I felt him bury his face in the hair on the top of my head and breathe deeply before releasing me and he stood back watching me slip into the hot bath. I sighed happily and looked up at Damien, seeing his eyes turn from silver to steel. I sat up and looked at him worried, "What is the matter?" Damien shook his head, "Nothing you need to worry about. I need to be gone for about an hour, think you can survive without me for that long?" I laughed, "I will try." He turned to walk out and I couldn't help but call out for him, "Damien?" He turned and looked at me quizzically and I smiled shyly at him, "Um hurry back." He smiled and nodded walking out quickly and leaving me to my thoughts. I soaked in the bath for a while, thinking about Damiens touch and kisses on me. I felt my heart pick up and heat, that had nothing to do with the water temperature, course through my body and center directly where I was supposed to be sore in. I got out of the bath after quickly scrubbing and washing my hair and wrapped a towel around me. I made my way into the living room, seeing my breakfast in the form of hot cereal and cream. I saw a box next to the food and I opened it seeing a pair of silver lace panties and a silver, lace bra. I grabbed the note annoyed and read my aunts writing. Put these on this instant, then go into the Princes closet and get a button up white shirt and put it on. Have a good morning and enjoy breakfast. I sighed annoyed and stripped my towel off putting the panties and bra on and walked into Damiens closet and looked around. I saw hundreds of button up shirts, all black and red, but not a single white one like my aunt had wanted. I touched all of them finally settling on a thicker velvety black one and took it off quickly putting it on and buttoning only one button. I sat down and ate slowly enjoying the warm cereal and quiet around me. When I finished and walked around the room, touching the counters and couch. I paused at the windows and looked outside. I smiled seeing three large, blonde figures running out of the tree line. They all stopped and looked up, smiling and waving. I laughed and waved back, watching them disappear into the tree line. I shook my head, "They are so weird." "What is so weird about them?" The velvet voice startled me. I smiled and continued to look out of the window, "They act really carefree, but if you ever watch them when they are just standing with each other, they are stressed, anxious. They play suitor by making me laugh and dancing my feet off but just now they had looked very serious, until they saw me and then acted the suitor again." "And that is something you want?" I turned and looked at Damien, he was wearing a black pair of slacks and a tight, black, turtle neck. He had his hair down and slicked back and his eyes had started steel grey but slowly turned silver as he looked at me. I shook my head, "No, they are not what I want." I felt his gaze roam over my body and I shivered in delight as his eyes slowly became the color of liquid silver. I walked towards him and stopped a few feet away from him and looked at him worried as the liquid silver turned to steel grey once again. "Whats the matter Damien?" He faked a smile, "Nothing at all." I narrowed my eyes at him, "Liar." I closed the distance between us and grabbed his hand and gently pulled him to the couch and sat down with him. "Tell me what is going on." He leaned back and rested his head back, looking up at the ceiling, "There are small conflicts breaking out all around." "Conflicts, why?" He sighed and shrugged, "Honestly, most of them are your family, some of the family feel like the reason I let the Lycans court you is because I am not going to choose you. They feel that I am not giving you a chance. Others are feeling that the oath is being broken, simply by having this ceremony." I sighed and looked out of the window, closing my eyes as a bit of sunlight broke through the clouds and filled the room. I breathed deeply, "Alright, what else then?" " The Council is angry, they don't think that you will be a proper Queen." "What makes a proper Queen anyway? And why arent you getting this advice from your parents, and not the council?" Damien sat up and looked at me, "The council guides me because my parents were killed, Lilly." I winced, "How?" He ran a finger through one of my curls, twisting it around his finger, "They were poisoned with silver powder, by a human they trusted." I stared at him open mouthed before grabbing his hand and pressing it to my face, "Im sorry Damien." I leaned forward and kissed him softly on the lips then pulled away and sat looking at him, "Well, we cant solve the council in one day but we can do something about my family." I stood up and walked to the door peeking my head out and catching a servant walking by, "Excuse me, can you please get lady Isadora for me, tell her its urgent and to bring her phone with her." The servant looked at me and stuttered a reply before looking behind my shoulder and running faster than I had ever seen before. I turned to see a very dark looking Damien glaring after the servant, then grabbing me posessivly and pulling me back into the room. "At least button more than one button when you go into the hall." I laughed and kissed Damien passionately wrapping my arms around his neck, "And when Im in here?" He unbuttoned the shirt and took it off running his hands along my body before pulling me close to him, "You should wear as little as possible." I leaned my head back and watched his eyes turn from steel to silver and I caressed his face before kissing him again. His tongue caressed my lips and I opened them, allowing him to delve into my mouth. I caressed his tongue with mine and gripped him harder to me, deepening the kiss as much as possible. I felt his hand grab my ass and lift me up, I wrapped my legs around his waist and he pressed my back into the door. I gasped for air as he kissed the nape of my neck and gently nicked it before kissing it again. Heat was funneling from his kisses to the center of me and as I felt the heat and electricity build and had a newer intense urge to have him inside of me again. I squeezed him with my legs kissed him for a moment longer before breaking the kiss and kissing down his neck, "Damien...I need you." He groaned and reached down and unbuckled his pants dropping them to the floor. I gasped in pleasure as I felt the hot tip of his member press against the sopping wet, silver panties. Damien hooked a finger through the side of my underwear and made quick work of ripping them off. The feeling of him at my entrance sent a whole new wave of fire coursing through me. He inched slowly inside of me, the feeling was uncomfortable but not painful. I could feel my walls stretching to accommodate him and soon he was sheathed to the hilt. I moaned as he paused simiply enjoying the delicious sensation of him inside of me. After a moment he lifted my butt and then slammed me down, thrusting into me. I gasped and started to help as he did this. Soon my back was again pressed against the door, but this time Damien rocked in and out of me, causing me to moan with each thrust. I felt the heat building and gasped in his ear, "Don't stop...more...oh god...Damien..." He moaned my name as I felt his member thicken and he cried out my name as he filled me with his seed. Seeing his face in such pleasure finally pushed me over and I cried out pulling his face to my neck, "Bite me...please...I want to only be yours." Damien groaned and I felt his fangs plunge into my throat. I had no idea what possessed me to demand him to do that but part of it was the need to keep him. I loved him, I couldn't deny it, and as I writhed in the pleasure and pain he had caused me I didn't want to ever be anyones but his. I wished many times I had been a vampire, but never so much as this moment, where our bodies where ravaging each other, trying to express just how deep our feelings were for each other, and I wanted to be able to sink my fangs into him, to make him mine, and mine alone. I felt his fangs release me, and his tongue passed over the puncture wounds, closing them up instantly. You wouldn't be able to see a single mark, but Damien would, he would be able to sense his mark on me, and I looked at him lovenly, kissing him tenderly. He stood up, and without putting me down carried me into his bedroom and laid down, with me on the bottom, and his member still hard and still buried inside of me. I didn't mind and instead began to rock against him, causing him to grin at me mischievously before taking over the movements himself. He lengthened the stroke, pulling almost entirely out before slamming back into me. I moaned and met his thrusts, our bodies suddenly engaged, once more, in our expression to each other. I scratched his back as he pushed me over one crest after another, my body sweating with the exertion, but not being able to stop. I kept wanting more, like a drug I couldn't get enough of, he brought me over the edge over and over again, and I kept crying out for more. He finally burst inside of me again, his seed coating my entire inside with the hot feeling. I pulled him too me, gasping as my body tried to recover from its exhertion. I kissed his neck and ear, before pulling away and looking into his beautiful silver eyes. He caressed me, and I smiled at him touching his face. "I love you Damien." A strange conflicted look came over his face before he captured my lips and kissed me down from the dizzing heights he had taken me to. My body twitched and I whimpered as he pulled out of me, only to have him chuckle and run his hands along my body, the touch allowing my body to become less and less sensitive. I sighed and fell asleep in his arms, my body no longer able to handle anything other than rest. I felt him kiss his mark on me and then blankets were pulled over me and he laid beside me. ***** I felt him move and I grabbed his arm gently, "No, please, don't go." He brushed my curls out of my face and kissed my lips softly, "I wont be gone long. Rest Lilly." I sighed and closed my eyes again, letting sleep reclaim me. I awoke not much later to a loud yell coming from outside the closed bedroom door. "I don't care, get her out!!" I sat up and listened to the murmured voices on the other side of the door. I got out of bed and padded silently to the door, pressing my ear to it. "We agreed you would seduce her and get her to fall in love with you but there was nothing about you sleeping with her." I recognized the high, whiney voice. I pulled away from the door wondering why Desmond was here, and who she was talking about. I took a deep breath to calm the irrational anger that was starting to build in me and I pressed my ear back to the door. "I haven't really been able to do anything thanks to having to leave all the time." Damien's voice was cold and detached and I kept listening. "I have been pretty patient, and so has my family. You said you had a plan when you brought her here, and I trusted you when you said you had a reason why you brought those mongrels here. And don't get me wrong I love the viciousness of it, Damien, I do. But then this morning you were supposed to come to me after you were done with her, like you had before, and you didn't." "I didn't expect her family to be so together. I was under the impression that the majority of them disliked the other. That Dimitri's side hated Esmeralda's side and that they never worked together. Imagine my surprise when I bring the stupid Lycan back and BOTH sides find it offensive." "So what, my family will support you when you marry me." I heard Damien scoff, "You family is small and powerless compared to Lilly's family. Not only is their size the problem, there are too many vampire families that still see them as the true ruling royalty. If we don't tread carefully, we wont survive to rule anything." I heard Desmond growl in what I could only put as frustration, "I cannot believe that I went with this whole revenge plan. I'm going to be killed because you needed to avenge your mother and fathers death on the stupid human. I have it on good account she doesn't even know that her family killed yours, or that they did it because they tried to break the betrothal contract." "Yes, I found that out this morning." His voice had gotten quiet and I barely heard what he had said. "Yes, well, the council will not begrudge you revenge for you parents. So be done with it, I already have Isadora locked away, so there is no more protection for Lilly. I don't care if you get her to love you anymore. Break her, then throw her to the wolves. If you don't do it, I will." I heard her stomp out and slam the door behind her. I backed up and quickly ran into the bathroom closing the door softly behind me. I put the shower on and jumped in, letting the hot water take away the shaking that had started rocking through my body. I touched the nape of my neck, trying to feel where Damien had sunk his fangs into me but I couldn't. I tried to understand what had happened as I replayed the conversation in my mind. Desmond had said that Damien's parents had been killed by mine, that they had tried to eliminate the contract between the families. I tried to think about the law that my father had tried to stomp into my head, but couldn't quite remember what the punishment for breaking a blood contract was. Maybe that was why we had left, why my family had given up everything to move to the U.S. It started to make more sense, as I remembered Damien saying we were playmates until I left, why I couldn't remember anything. That also explained why I spent almost a month in the U. S hospital when we had first arrived. It had been the third attempt on my life, and was the only time that I almost did die. I reached behind my head and ran my fingers against my scalp, feeling the long scar along the base of my head. I could feel where the staples had made their scars, in an attempt to keep the pieces of my skin together. I lost all my memory of my childhood in Europe because of that attack. I'd had to relearn to walk, eat, speak, almost everything, and not a single person in my family would tell me about it. I jumped when the curtains opened and Damien peeked in, a concerned look on his face. "Are you alright?" I nodded, "Desmond woke me up, so instead of barging into the room and stabbing her, I decided to cool my temper with a hot shower." It was as close to the truth as I could get, I was a terrible liar, my heart would speed up and any vampire within a hundred miles could hear it screaming, "liar, liar." He stared at my face for a long time until he finally sighed, "Yes, sorry. I promised her I would go for a ride this morning. She was less than thrilled to have found me the way she did." I smiled mischievously and shrugged, "That's her problem. But, I should probably spend some time with MY suitors, so you could still make it up to her." A look of concern flashed across Damien's face and I stared at him trying to decide if it were genuine or if he were an incredible actor, "I would prefer you not to be with them alone." I doused my face in water for a moment, "My aunt could be with us." Damien straightened and stared at me for too long of a moment, and realizing I needed for him to believe I didn't hear what he and Desmond had spoken about. I swallowed my fear and reached out and ran a wet hand across his jaw, "What's the matter?" He grabbed my hand and squeezed it softly and shook his head, "Your Aunt went up North to try and resolve some of the conflicts with your family. She came by when you were sleeping and I spoke to her for a while. She thought this was the best idea for now." I got out of the shower and wrapped a black towel around me. Damien pulled me to him and wrapped his arms around me. I breathed him in, trying to reconcile the fact that I loved this creature, and that he was trying to destroy me for something I couldn't understand. I wrapped my arms around his waist and continued to breathed him in. "Did you hear anything Desmond said?" He had tried to make his voice light, but I heard the edge in it. I pulled back and looked into his dark grey eyes, "Just that she didn't care and she wanted me out. I heard that, realized it was her and made for the bathroom." I shrugged and his face lightened a bit and he leaned down and kissed me. His kiss was stiff and I pulled away giving him a concerned look, "She must have really upset you." I sighed and broke out of his embrace and walked into the bedroom, "I guess I should go though. Without my Aunt it may take me hours to get ready, and then I need to figure out how to contact my three suitors." I felt Damien follow behind me as I dried my body and wrapped the towel around my hair. I put my hand on my hip and looked around, "I have no idea what I'm going to wear out of here." I turned to Damien and realized he was standing in the doorway of the bathroom staring at me, not admiring but observing me. I shivered and walked into his closet pulling down the first shirt I saw, which happened to be a dark red button up. I put it on and buttoned it most of the way then sighed as I looked around for something to wear. I turned to find Damien again in the doorway staring at me, this time his eyes the color of steel and his face dark. I faced him and felt my heart begin to beat faster. He took a step towards me and I stepped back, and suddenly as he walked towards me I felt like prey being stalked. I kept backing up until I hit the end of his closet, he came close to me and gently grabbed my chin, "What did you hear?" I looked at him, trying to feint confusion, "I don't know what you're talking about." "Then why are you scared of me." I scoffed, "If you saw your own face you would back up too. You look like your going to kill me." My voice shook and he took a step back, his face a mixture of surprise and what looked like sadness. I stepped towards him and grabbed his hand, "What's the matter Damien? What did Desmond say that upset you so much?" Courting a Vampire Ch. 08 His eyes hardened and he stepped back and turned and walked out leaving me alone in his closet. I closed my eyes and tried to calm my heart down taking a few deep breaths before walking out into the bedroom. Damien was sitting on the bed, his head in his hands, looking down at the floor. I knelt down in front of him and grabbed his hands, forcing him to lift his head and look at me, "Please Damien, you can trust me." He ran a finger across his mark on me and whispered, "I know I can." I looked at him beseechingly with my eyes, "Then tell me." I looked at him, his eyes flashing silver before he leaned down and kissed my neck. He stood up leaving me sitting back on my legs, "Stay here, Ill have your clothes brought here. I don't like the idea of you being alone without your Aunt." I smiled up at him, forgetting to be afraid for a moment, "You're letting me move in?" He chuckled and helped me to my feet, "I suppose that's what it looks like." I laughed and threw my arms around him, kissing him deeply, plying at his stiff response until he finally kissed me back appropriately. We stood there locked in our intimate embrace for a few minutes longer until he finally broke it. "I have to go soothe Desmond." I frowned at him stopping just because of her and then made a deep sigh myself, "I guess I should go entertain my suitors." A frown played on his lips and I touched them, "You allowed them here, so that we wouldn't have war. Its my duty to make sure they are happy enough to keep the war from happening." He pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head once before grabbing my hand, "Don't go into the forest with them. I would prefer if you entertained them in the front, in full view of all the windows. Deal?" I smiled and nodded, "Deal." Courting a Vampire Ch. 09 The act of moving me into Damien's room was a huge to do. It took more servants than I had seen together before, half of them were re arranging Damien's closet and the other half were moving my clothes into his closet. It was such a big to do that it ended up causing a crowd to gather at the entrance of the room. I hid in the bedroom until I finally spotted a pair of black jeans my aunt had let me buy. I quickly slid them, along with appropriate undergarments on in the bathroom before grabbing a jacket and leaving the servants to their job. I smiled at the different vampires in the hall, trying to slip through them as quickly as possible, and making my way to the front doors and out. I breathed the crisp air in, enjoying the bright, sunny day, even if it was cool. I was outside for only a few minutes before my suitors bound towards me. Luke had his hair pulled back, and was wearing a light brown, leather vest, leaving it open, and light brown leather pants. Williams hair was also bound back, but he was wearing a darker richer cotton shirt, and leather pants. Gabriel was the last to bound up, his hair was loose and he was wearing a light vest like his older brother, but wore a pair of blue jeans instead of leather. They smiled at me, all three of them were panting as if they had run here to greet me. "Well you three look happy, what have you been up to?" They smiled and elbowed each other, "We could show you but seeing as you are human and all, you would probably be grossed out." I rolled my eyes at Gabriel and looked expectantly at Luke who shrugged, "We were hunting, we were just cleaning the kill when William scenting you out here. We figured you were going for a walk and would, maybe, like some company." I stretched my hands over my head listening to my back crack, "You know I actually came out here to hang out with you guys, but honestly, a walk sounds wonderful. I've been too cooped up in the house too long." William snorted, "Some house, that's a castle, not a house." I turned and looked at the impressive, intimidating castle in front of me, "You know, I only know a small section of it, so it seems a lot smaller to me than it should." I turned and started to walk to the lake, and Gabriel walked along the side of me, Luke and William flanking me, "Why do you only know a small section?" I tapped my lips in thought and shrugged, "Well, to tell you the truth, because if I'm alone, exploring the castle, it would be easy for some upstart vampire girl to off the competition." "That makes sense, but now, why were you alone just now?" I looked over my shoulder to William, "I...there's a lot going on in that castle that I don't understand." Luke replaced Gabriel as the young Lycan dropped back to flank me, "What do you mean?" I shrugged, "Vampire politics are difficult. My family is making hell for the Prince because the whole courting ceremony wasn't supposed to happen. But I just learned that the King and Queen had broken the contract with my family and were killed because of it." Luke nodded, "That seems like an appropriate punishment, and we heard about that from your uncle." I stopped at the edge of the lake and looked at him, "Was it my parents who killed them?" Luke looked at his brothers who had moved to stand just behind him. Gabriel shrugged and William stared at me for a moment then nodded, "She should know." Luke nodded and sighed, "Well, yes and no. Yes your parents were responsible for their death but, they didn't actually do it." "Damien told me they were poisoned by silver powder." Gabriel hissed and shook his hand like he had just been burned, "That's a brutal way to go." William nodded but crossed his arms over his chest and watched me, "I thought you guys knew how they died." He said looking at me but speaking to his brothers." Luke shook his head, "No we knew they were killed, and we make it a point to know who kills who among our old enemies, but we didn't know how. It makes sense though, it's the surest way to make sure we die." I raised an eyebrow, "We? You guys have the same allergy?" All three nodded, "Its our greatest weakness, silver, and yet it's the only weakness that cant be utilized by the blood suckers when we are fighting." "I didn't know that, makes sense though, it's a vampires greatest weakness and you guys have the same problem of not being able to use it. But Damien said it was a human who betrayed his parents, not a vampire." The three shrugged, ending the conversation. I walked down the beach picking up snail shells and throwing them back into the lake. Eventually the Lycans got bored and started picking up rocks and competing with each other on who could throw the longest. I watched amused as Gabriel and Luke both threw the exact same length and stared to complain about the other cheating. Eventually all three began to argue about cheating and all three ended up tumbling into the lake, wrestling with each other. I gripped my stomach in laughter as all three managed to look like muddy, swamp monsters. I was laughing so hard I didn't notice Gabriel come up to me until I was thrown over his shoulder and headed straight into the lake. I yelled at him to put me down but couldn't keep from laughing as well. My voice ended up as a playful squeal as I promised vengeance for what he was about to do. He laughed, "What are you going to do human, smack us with a newspaper." And with that I went tumbling right into the frigid water. I yelled when I surfaced shivering and glaring at him as he and this two brothers fell over laughing. I could feel the mud dripping from my hair and I reached down grabbing a handful of the muck and launched it, smacking William directly in the face. All three froze and stared at me stunned before everyone but William burst into laughter. Luke was on his feet sloshing through the water towards me as William was hot on his heels. "Don't worry Lilly, Ill save you!!" Luke grabbed me and threw me back a few feet into deeper water as William slammed into him. I surfaced and treaded water watching the three brothers fighting, it was in good nature but I could hear some serious punches being thrown. I slowly began to swim towards them, starting to feel light headed from the cold of the water. My skin was on fire from the cold and I when I made it to shore I stumbled out and sat down curling myself into a ball and shivering. The three Lycan stopped what they were doing and were at my side in an instant, "It must have been too cold for her." Luke nodded to Williams statement, "Where should we take her?" "C..c..cas..s..stle" Luke nodded and handed me to William. I watched Luke take his vest and pants off and I watched with horrid fascination as the skin on his face began to split and widen. I was so focused on his human face turning into a lion that I didn't noticed the rest of him becoming a lion until he was fully transformed. He looked a lot like a lion as a human, so seeing him as an actual lion wasn't too hard to handle. He was larger than any lion I could imagine being, but I couldn't focus past that, I continued to shiver against William, feeling him put me on Luke's back. I shuttered and pressed myself against his warm fur and held onto his mane as best as my freezing fingers could. I felt the muscles tighten and then we were moving quickly, I pressed my face into Luke's mane and felt myself warm up a little from the heat of his fur. When we reached the castle William pounded on the door and I looked up to see a familiar looking vampire answer it. He looked at the three and then his eyes zeroed on me and narrowed, "What do you want?" Gabriel stepped up to stand next to William, "The Princess is in hypothermia, thanks to the freezing waters of your lake. We need to get her into her rooms and warm quickly." I suddenly realized where I recognized him from, he was related to Desmond. The vampire straightened and wrinkled his nose, "Right this way please." I gripped Luke's mane tighter and whispered softly, "Don't trust him." Luke rumbled a response and I saw William and Gabriel lean towards him for a moment then nod, their faces going from light and happy, to grim. I had almost no strength and I found all I could do was peek out from Luke's mane, his fur blocking most of my view. I soon realized we were headed down an unfamiliar corridor, "T...this is not right." I had whispered it to Luke and felt his rumbled response. I felt tired and wanted to go to sleep so bad, my body shaking like a leaf. Finally Luke stopped and I listened to William tell the vampire we were going back to the main corridor where the sun could still keep me warm. The vampire protested and took a step towards me, but Gabriel and William blocked me from view and I listened to Luke snarl at the vampire. We quickly turned around and made it back to the front door very quickly. The vampire fidgeted annoyed as Luke positioned me near an uncovered window, the sun warming me only a little. "Get the Prince or Isadora, not a single other person, there's no trusting you blood suckers." The vampire hissed at Gabriel's words but spirited off quickly. I shivered and buried myself deeper into Luke's warm mane. William leaned to the side and whispered to me, "How did you know he was leading us astray?" I shivered and whispered softly, "I'll tell you later...t...t..too cold." He awkwardly patted my back and rubbed small circles, "Sorry, we forgot the lake would probably have been far too cold for you." I shook my head, "w..w..was f..f..fun." Gabriel chuckled with William and I couldn't help but to smile. I heard distinct feet walking quickly towards me. Luke growled and I managed to lift my head to look into dark, steel, grey eyes. I put my head back down and reached my arm up and out and felt his hand grab mine and pull me with almost no effort off of Luke and into his arms. I realized how cold I must be because Damien's touch felt warm on my skin. I looked up to see his fangs were down and he was glaring death at my three suitors. I leaned into him and whimpered, "c..c..cold..." Damien looked down at me and squeezed me to him, "Thank you, now if you will please leave my castle I will tend to Lilly." I peaked and watched the large lion and his brothers quickly leave the castle and run out of sight. I looked up at Damien and saw him looking at me worried. The vampire from earlier approached, "Sire I can take her. I know you were in the middle of a meeting..." I cringed into Damien and shook, I felt him sigh, "No, I will do this myself." I breathed a sigh of relief and felt myself moving quickly through the castle. I felt Damien lie me down on the bed in our room and make quick work of stripping me of my wet clothes. He threw a blanket over me and a moment later I heard water running in the bathroom. I was in his arms a moment later, and he gently dipped me into the painfully hot bath. I couldn't hold my head up anymore, too exhausted from shivering to do anything but keep my eyes open but a sliver. "Lilly?" Damien's voice sounded genuinely worried and turned my head weakly and tried to smile at him. "I'm warming up." His hand caressed the side of my face and I leaned into it, "I didn't know what to think when I saw you on that lions back, barely moving." "It probably would be a relief if I had stopped moving." I don't know what possessed me to say it but I didn't even get to look at Damien's reaction to my words before I finally gave in and fell asleep. I yawned and stretched as the sun on my face woke me up and I tilted my face towards the light. It was so warm, and I had felt so cold through my dreams. Visions of a steel colored sky, and ice closing around me kept me tossing and turning all night. It would have been a relief if I had woken up, but instead one ice filled dream led to another nightmare, this one with me looking at a refection of myself and Damien slitting my throat and lapping up the blood, and in a blink Desmond would replace him as the one holding the knife. I had dreams of being rapped and ripped apart by a pack of lions, only to turn around and be rapped by the council members in the castle, all while my parents stood there looking away in disgust. I had dreams of being sacrificed on a slab of ice, a floating pair of white eyes, no irises or pupils, just white eyes, holding a blade of silver over me before plunging it into my chest. I died over and over again and as I finally opened my eyes into the blinding sun, I couldn't help but to shiver. My dreams were a manifestation of what I was feeling, and since yesterday, I had gone from feeling like a Princess in love, to a sacrificial lamb, being toyed with before being slaughtered. I turned my head and found myself alone in the room, the closet was open and I could see that half of it was now dominated by blues, creams, greens, and an occasional purple. I sat up slowly groaning as my body moved, I was feeling as if I had been asleep for ages, and in all honestly I probably could have been. I had no idea what time it was, but the sun wasn't just rising and that made me believe it had to be at least close to noon, if not after. I pulled the blankets off of me and swung my feet down, grateful for the fleece pajamas that were on me and slipped my feet into soft, downy, slippers. I walked carefully into the living room and saw that no one was there either. I walked over to the fridge that had not been there before and opened it tentivley. It was filled with normal food like milk, eggs, and an assortment of fruit. I laughed at myself and grabbed the bag of cherries, I had thought that there might have been blood in there, having already experienced the trauma of mistaking it for juice, once upon a time. I poured the cherries in a bowl and rinsed them off, patting them dry with a paper towel and grabbing my cherries I made my way to the couch and the television. I grabbed the remote and flicked it on, chuckling at seeing that at some point Damien had installed cable. I clicked around settling on a movie that looked like it had just started. I sat and watched the movie, finding myself completely engaged in the story. Towards the end I was routing so hard for the lead girl, feeling that if she made it somehow I would. It didn't pass me that the movie was about a woman who was lured into marrying this charming man because she was an heiress. The man had a girlfriend, and once the main character and the man were married, the girlfriend moved in and they started to try and kill the lead character. It was the final scene where the main character was tied to a chair, bruised and battered, gagged with tears pouring down her face as she looked beseechingly at her husband. He looked away as his girlfriend grabbed a knife and stalked towards the main character. She raised the blade up to stab and just as it was going down, the main character throws her arms up, taking the cut into her arms and throwing herself back on the chair, scrambling out of the bindings. I gasped and jumped as she dodged the woman and finally kicked her out of the attic window, the woman falling to her death, impaled by the fence, classic. I fell back into the couch and touched my chest, somehow mortally relieved that the husband had come to his senses about his feeling for the main character and had not tied her up as he should have. "Fuckin' right, dump the ugly bitch right on the fence!! That's how its supposed to be." I heard a velvety chuckle behind me and I jumped and twisted so high and hard I fell right out of the couch with a loud, resounding, thump onto the floor. I peeked up at Damien as he leaned against the wall smiling at me. I sat up and tried to regain my dignity by straightening myself up and grabbing my bowl, now filled with pits and stems, and walked past him. His eyes followed me as I emptied the bowl into the garbage and rinsed it off. When I was done I cleaned the sink back up and having nothing left to do, I turned back to him and leaned back against the sink. "How long were you there?" "When she was being stabbed by the now dead character..." He had nothing but amusement on his face which was a relief because I wasn't sure, anymore, where we stood, "You seemed so invested in the movie, I didn't want to ruin it for you. What was it about?" I cleared my throat, "Betrayal." I saw his eyes grow a little harder and so I continued, "The main character was wealthy, she had something the guy wanted, so he married her. He did it all with the plan to kill her. He and his girlfriend hatched the plan, and then the man charmed his way into the heroines heart, so she married him. Then as planned they go off to a honeymoon, which just happened to be where the guys girlfriend is waiting for her, to kill her." His eyes had turned a shade darker than their normal gray, but it wasn't the hard steel that I usually associated with anger. He kept the content, happy, smirk on his face, "So what happened?" I looked at him staring him directly in the eye, "The man realized he loved her, and didn't let the girlfriend kill her." Damien nodded and looked away, breaking eye contact, "That sounds like a good movie." I pushed away from the sink and nodded, "Yep. How long was I asleep for?" Damien looked back at me, his eyes back to their usual shade of grey, not letting me in on his feelings, "About 32 hours." "Holy cow!" I gasped out before recovering myself. "I had a doctor look in on you. No permanent damage, and after a conversation with the Lycans, I am frustrated to realize that I have to warn you about your sensitivities to the elements." I smirked at him, "I was having fun, to be honest I was going to get out but then one thing led to another and I ended up on Luke's back, quite literally, freezing to death." I didn't like how Damien's eyes started to darken to the color of a violent thunderstorm, but it gave me enough warning to prepare myself for Damien's outburst. In the span of a breath he had grabbed me by my shoulders, picked me up, and had literally thrown me onto the bed, before slamming on top of me. I struggled against his grip, knowing it was futile, but I couldn't let myself be pinned down without at least trying to fight. He hissed at me in a very vampire way and it stopped my struggles. "How much do you know Lilly." "I don't know what you are talking about." My heart fluttered and I secretly cursed every higher being I knew for making Vampires so great at hearing. "Stop lying to me." I couldn't take it anymore, the nightmares, the wondering, the pain, the pain of loving this vampire only to find out he didn't just not care about me he hated me. "I'll stop lying when you stop." He released my hands and stood up, leaving me lying on the bed. "Just tell me what you know." "No." I finally saw his dark eyes turn to the hard color of steel and I lifted my chin a little in defiance, "I wont answer a damn thing until you finally answer my questions." He balled his fists up and just glowered down at me without saying a word. I had to assume he was agreeing, "Why did you tell me it was a human that killed your parents, when it was my parents?" He responded through ground teeth, "It was a human that killed them." "A human my family hired?" "No." I narrowed my eyes at him, "I want the honest truth." "I answered one of your questions, now you get to answer one of mine, did you hear my conversation with Desmond?" "Yes, probably half of it, I did wake up to the part with her screaming for me to get out. But I didn't hear anything beyond that until I listened at the door. Who was the human then? If my parents didn't hire them, and you saw it as a close, loyal friend betraying your family, who was it?" Courting a Vampire Ch. 09 Damien looked down at me and I suddenly had a very bad feeling. My stomach rolled and my head began to pinch in pain. I stared at him and the realization of putting all the little facts in their proper place began to crash on me. Small things began to line up, like my Aunts protection, the idea of having been invited to the courting, instead of just being expected to show up. Everyone's surprise at seeing me arrive, and the fact I never saw more than five members of my family residing in the castle, when the other betrothed had dozens of supporters. I reached up and touched the scar at the base of my head, remembering the look on both Damien and Desmond's faces when I had said I could just poison Desmond. They had looked stunned, and I had waved it off as they just having underestimated a human. But now that I was looking at it, I realize that they both had genuine fear on their faces. I let my hand drop with a dull thump into my lap and I looked passed him, trying to will my mind to remember something that it could not bring up, because it was simply gone. I looked up at him feeling the burn of tears behind my eyes, "How come I don't know what happened?" Damien lifted a hand and squeezed it tightly together and he brought it to his face for a moment before relaxing it and looking down at me, "I found out, and when we were playing, I attacked you with every intention of killing you. I didn't know what happened after I attacked you, all I knew was that you were gone, and so was everyone else I loved." He backed up a step and leaned against the frame of the closet, "What happened?" I closed me eyes, "I was in the hospital for what felt like a year. I was told many times, how lucky I was to still be alive. I didn't feel alive though. The sharp smell of the hospital filled my nose as I remembered back to the time spent there, "I had to relearn everything." "Everything?" I kept my eyes closed, picturing the room I spent so much time in, "I had to learn how to talk, walk, feed myself, go to the bathroom, when to laugh, when to cry. I had to learn to be a human all over again." "What else do you know now?" I opened my eyes and looked down at the carpet, "I get it now though, why you wanted to torture me and kill me. You're a vampire, and I am this weak, pathetic, human who killed your family." Damien closed the distance between up and knelt down in front of me and gripped the back of my neck in a painful hold, "Did anyone tell you what's so special about born vampires? We drink blood, but when I sink my fangs into the person, their whole lives flash into my head, every lie, every thought, every action, everything. He moved closer and pulled my head back. I felt him gently kiss his mark on me, sending a pulse of heat to move into my core before I felt the pain. Courting a Vampire Ch. 10 I gasped at the pain of him sinking his fangs into my neck. When he had marked me, it had felt wonderful, a bit of pain but it was dramatically offset by the passion Damien and I had been sharing. Now, however, the pain was intense. I cried out softly and pressed my hand to the back of Damien's. I closed my eyes and felt the tears drip down my cheek onto Damien's lips. I felt Damien lay me back and I began to feel light headed and weak. I tried to squeeze Damien's hair and tell him that I had but it didn't do anything. "Damien..." It was all but a whisper, but it seemed to be enough to break his trance and his fangs slid out of my damaged neck. He held me to him and I felt him breath raggedly against my body, "I saw it, I saw the hospital Lilly. But I wanted to see the murder, and its not there." His fingers traced the scar underneath my scalp, "I've been angry at you for so long." I wrapped my arms around him and held him closer, "I understand." The door flew open and Desmond stepped in, followed by four of her cousins. Damien had jumped up at the sound and I laid on the bed, too weak to fight. She smirked down at me and grabbed me by my throat. I gagged and she lifted me with one hand and held me in the air, struggling to breath. My head felt like it would pop and my lungs began to scream for air. I convulsed and felt the urge to pass out begin to settle on me. She dropped me painful to the ground and I gasped for breath, tears springing to my eyes and I coughed. "Enough Desmond." Damien stepped towards me but Desmond's family put a hand on his chest and held him in place. Desmond looked at Damien with a sneer, "You cant seem to kill this thing, so I will. She's an abomination, no vampire should ever give life to anything other than a vampire. I will save you from yourself, my love." She snapped her fingers and I only managed a brief glimpse into Damien's dark grey eyes before a fist smashed into my face, sending me hurling painfully, into darkness. ******* I woke up to familiar hands touching my face, "Oh thank god Lilly, your not dead." I wished I were dead. My face felt like it was both on fire and being crushed. I tried to look up at who was talking to me, but for some reason my left eye wasn't focusing. I turned my head slightly and the pain was so excruciating and turned to the side and vomited. The cool hands were back on my face when I had finished and my Aunts familiar voice tried to sooth me, "Don't worry Lilly, we will be alright. Just don't move, okay, it wont hurt so bad if you don't move." The door flew open and three large bodies were thrown in with a loud resounding oaf. My Aunts hands left my face and I could make out her shadow lurking over the new bodies. When the doors slammed shut they sounded metallic and cold. I looked around only a little, but from the rank, metallic smell of old blood, and how cold the floor was, I could only assume I was in the dungeon with my Aunt. "Its okay, I'm Lilly's aunt Isadora." My aunts voice was hushed and it seemed to calm down the scuffling sound coming from the shadows she was near. I didn't dare try to turn my head, the pain still so intense I could barely breath. I began to wish for unconsciousness again until the cool hands were back on my face. "Who?" My aunt pushed her fingers to my mouth, "Don't speak, it will just make you sick. And its your three suitors, broken, and battered, but from the looks of it, they managed to put up a really good fight." My aunt touched my left eyelid, "Lilly close your right eye and tell me what you see out of your left." "Blood." I didn't say anymore because my aunt had been right, talking started to make me sick again. My aunt strangled a sob and I could tell she had no idea what to do. I know I didn't, "I don't know why we are here." I clenched my teeth together, "Desmond." My aunt fluttered back to the three suitors, checking on them again before returning to my side. My aunt touched the still open bite marks of Damien. "Who did this Lilly?" "Damien." Her sharp gasp was enough to make me move just enough to look at her. She leaned down and licked the wound and I could already feel it sealing. "Do they know? The ones that took you?" "I don't know, they punched me unconscious." "If we are lucky, Desmond didn't see that." My aunt chewed on her manicured thumbnail, looking at the door whenever there was a sound. I closed my eyes but only managed to fall asleep before rough hands were grabbing me by my shirt and yanking me up. I cried out as they tried to put me on my feet, and only managed to collapse the times they did. My aunt was yelling hysterically for the vampire to leave me alone, but instead he backhanded her, sending her staggering back. He grabbed me and flung me over his shoulder, like a sack of potatoes, and I whimpered at the pain shooting through my head and I drooped limply over his shoulder. He threw me to the floor after a short distance and I curled up into the fetal position, trying to both hide from the pain in my body and whatever was waiting for me. I heard a high, whiney laugh and didn't have to look to know Desmond was the owner of the voice. "You should be standing, little human. It is only honorable that your family see you stand with as much pride as your disgusting body can muster. Come now, stand, it is your murder trial, after all." I didn't care what she said, I couldn't have stood, even if I wanted to. Vampires seemed to think that humans could ignore the pain in lieu of pride, but they were wrong. Vampire's bodies were wired to their brains differently. The wiring left space enough to consider things like pride in the face of pain. But I wasn't a vampire, I was a human. My brain was wired so that when my body was broken and in as much pain as I was in, it was all encompassing. The vision of me being stabbed through the heart while my parents looked on in disgust fluttered to my minds eye and burned itself there. I was going to die, I was sure of it. My parents, if they were really there, were going to stand by and watch it happen probably with the same look of disgust. "This is highly inappropriate Lady Desmond, the prince should be here conducting this trial." I could hear the council mans annoyance even though my pain. "I dare say, it looks like the Princess has been beaten." "SHES NOT A PRINCESS!!" Desmond's scream filled the hall, silencing everyone. There was a paused moment of silence before Desmond's voice returned, sounding near hysterics, "She killed the King and Queen, she's a murder, and she will die, understand?" "Prove it." I recognized my fathers clear, cold voice. I managed to peek at him, seeing him standing rigid and tall, never once looking at me. "You will be silent, traitor!" Desmond sounded like she had gone mad and I flinched tighter into myself as her sharp feet stomped over to me, "Stand up you disgusting creature." She grabbed my hair and pulled it with all her strength. I cried out and managed to get onto my knees, my shoulders and head hunched forward, my shaking arms holding me up, but barely. I didn't last long though, and before I knew it I was back on my side, curled into my position. I squeezed my eyes shut when she came close again, and this time all she did was scream and kick me directly in the stomach. I didn't scream, because I was too busy trying to fold into my self, but it didn't matter as she kicked me three times, something snapping inside of me causing the pain I was feeling to double. I couldn't breath without hurting, I stopped listening because the pain was too much. I began to wish I would have died of the cold only a few days ago. I only vaguely became aware of a small scratching feeling underneath my right breast. I reached in as slowly as I could, any movement making my body scream in pain. I felt a small paper envelope, maybe the size of a large stamp. I pulled it out and felt the grains on the bottom. I put it in my mouth, and tried to listen to what was going on. I began to gather that the reason Desmond was in control of everything was because she had marked Damien. If she had bitten him, and he had not had the chance to do so in return, she would have a great deal of power over him. My fathers voice lecturing me began to drift in through the haze of pain and I focused on it, wanting to distract my mind from what it was feeling. "Anytime a vampire bites another vampire they are branded. The vampire being bitten must quickly bite the other vampire, so that the bond is equal." "What happens if it isn't equal father?" My father looked down at me and frowned, "The vampire that was bitten would be at a disadvantage. The vampire would see the one who bit them in only the best of lights. The vampire could murder the bitten's whole family, and the bitten would do nothing but justify the reasoning for it, and then find thing wrong with the biter." My father tapped me on the shoulder and I followed him outside, my young legs still too short to keep up with his pace except to run. "As with all bonds, they are broken upon the death of one or the other vampire. But the vampire bitten will fight until their own death to protect the owner of the bond. The vampire will become weak, and given enough time, the bond will eventually destroy the vampire." "Why?" "Because vampires aren't built for great amounts of emotion. Probably one of the most intense emotion is love, it is too much for one vampires' being to handle alone, that's why the bond is so valuable. It distributes the emotion between the two vampires, allowing for it to be bearable. If it is just a one sided bond, the vampire bonded will be destroyed." "What if I get bit father?" "I have mentioned a few of the reasons why it is to your advantage to be human, not ever one so much as this. Humans are built to survive emotions, in fact they seemed to be built to not only survive emotions but to feed off of them as well. A human will cease to exist if they do not have the emotions that would other wise destroy vampires. If you are bitten you will thrive on the feelings of love, and the vampire that has bitten you will be able to funnel the toxic energy into you." My fathers voice faded away and I realized that this had to be what was going on. Desmond had bitten Damien and had managed not to get bitten back in return. The only reason why Damien had not become completely destroyed by now was because he had bitten me. I had felt a maelstrom of emotions after having been bitten, but none more than love, frustration, and distrust. I had to destroy Desmond, because no one else would do it and because Damien wouldn't see me as a threat until it was too late. I closed my eyes and tried to ignore the pain, but I couldn't. My body hurt too much. I listened as the crazy bitch began to talk about the joining of her family with Damien's. Anger is an awesome pain killer. It gives you that shot of "fuck you" that just seems to eliminate, or at least dull, everything else going on. I opened the small envelope with my tongue and poured the silver sand into my mouth and worked the sand into a paste with my saliva. I didn't want to kill every vampire in the room, just one, so I needed to make sure it didn't go airborne. I opened my ears and eyes and began to unfurl a bit and take in Desmond's frantic pacing. She began to speak about destroying me as a wedding present for Damien and I tucked the wad of silver into my cheek and started laughing. The room must have already been silent because my laughing stopped Desmond's ranting instantly. She turned to me and I slowly sat up and looked at her. "You are one crazy, fucking, bitch." Desmond was on me in a flash, and I knew there would be no fight. She snapped my leg when she grabbed it and then grabbed the front of my shirt she lifted me up. I gagged at the pain and then did something I swore I would never do. I inhaled and blew my nose hard onto Desmond, giving her a farmers nose blow like only a country girl could. She screamed and I saw my chance and with I reached out grabbed onto her ears and brought my mouth right to her. I spit the paste directly into her mouth and kept my open mouth pressed to hers and she fell backwards already beginning to gag. She clawed at my back, leaving long open cuts, but I held onto her. She kept clawing until I was sure there was no skin left on my back and that anyone could see the bones of my back. I kept my mouth over hers and she opened and closed it, her body now convulsing in its final death throes. I stayed where I was for a few moments after she stopped moving and then sat up. I looked down at her dead eyes, and carefully closed her mouth then looked up at Damien, who had stopped struggling against the vampires that had been restraining him, and with a small smile collapsed. Courting a Vampire Ch. 11 It had taken me almost six months to recover, and during most of that I was in a medical induced coma. After getting me to a hospital, doctors and my father had decided that keeping in a coma would be best. My face had been cracked, and I had suffered a severe concussion, my leg had been snapped cleanly, but what had been the cause for the coma had been my back. Desmond's departing gift to me was that she had literally peeled the skin and flesh off of my bones. It had taken almost eight surgeries to reattach and fix the muscle damage and after all of that my back had mysteriously healed with little scaring. When I had woken from my coma, I didn't ask questions of my father and he didn't supply any. Instead we worked silently on getting me walking again, which thanks to his insane demands had been a matter of weeks rather than months. I only asked after my mother once and my father had looked away and had spoken softly to me for the first time in my life. "She was murdered by her brother, when he learned that you were courting the prince. He had lost face with the Lycans when it was found out he had been lying about making sure they would marry you." I didn't apologize to him or show him pity, because I knew my mother and father, both, well enough to know that the sentiment would have done nothing but upset. So instead I had grabbed my dads arm and went for an extra round of kick Lilly's ass into walking with him. As I walked unsteadily, without assistance, down the hall I thought I had spotted long black hair turning the corner. I tried to walk faster but instead wound up tripping over my feet and had to be caught by my father. I strained against my fathers grip and tried to look for the person I had the most desire to see. My father lifted me up and carried me back into the room and sat me down on the bed, sitting into the chair with a soft growl. I looked at him surprised and seeing my surprise he shook his head, "I suppose now would be an appropriate time to have you tell me about what had happened once you arrived to the castle and the courting ceremony." I hesitated at the question and then realizing that nothing I would say to my father would increase or decrease his very set opinion of me I told him everything. He stood up at the end and touched the surface of my neck, his fingers brushing the hidden bite that Darien had made. For the first time in my life I watched my father sigh and run his fingers through his hair in frustration. I watched him as he paced, seeming to work something out in his head. "You are going to go back aren't you." "Yes." "If I forbid it?" I frowned at him, "I guess you could lock me away somewhere but I would figure away out. And besides, why would you forbid it." My father grabbed my face between his two hands and looked at me with fatherly concern. I nearly choked in surprise. "What if he does not return your affection." I shrugged and he released me. I rubbed the bridge of my nose, "He may not love me father, and that's alright. But I think he needs me. I keep getting these dreams filled with anxiety, worry, and fear." My father snorted and crossed his arms, "Prove to me that you can walk around this floor of the hospital without stumbling or taking a break and we will return, not a moment before." I nodded realizing this was as close to an agreement that we would ever get. ***** I worked like a woman possessed, and finally I walked around the floor with no breaks, no falling, as if I were the same old Lilly. My father, as promised, checked me out and we rode quietly in the back of a black Rolls Royce. My father reached over and tucked a stray curl behind my ear and I turned and smiled at him. "You were very brave when you fought Desmond. You brought honor to your family, even when they were working diligently to destroy it." I smiled at him, "Thanks for the silver in the envelope." My father gave me a strange look, "I didn't do that, and neither did your aunt. I just assumed that you kept it on you all the times, especially after she described the dagger you had with you." I looked at him confused but didn't get to say anything else because the car stopped in front of the castle. I opened the door and stepped out breathing in the crisp air. I listened to my father tell the driver to bring in the bags before coming to stand next to me and with our backs straight and chins up we walked to the door. I didn't get a chance to open it before it was flung open with a bang and I was barreled down my by aunt. My father muttered about respect, to which my aunt merely leaned over and kissed him on the cheek before grabbing my hand and dragging me into the castle. "WELCOME BACK!!!" The shout caused me to leap back in surprise, my father catching my elbow and steadying me. I smiled at the huge group of vampires all holding up wine goblets, full of sticky red liquid. I smiled weakly at them as they surged forward and began to grab my hand and shake it. Soon they weren't just grabbing my hand, ladies were touching my curls and commenting on them, touching my hand, shoulder, face, anything really. Among all the vampires greeting me I didn't once see the vampire I wanted to see. After too long the vampires attention switched to my father, who gave me a grim look but began to speak to the crowd answering questions. I slipped away from the crowed and made slow progress up the staircase and down a familiar hall. I stopped in front of the door, trying to catch my breath, and making a mental note to talk with my father about stair rehab. I was torn between knocking or just opening, so I knocked, deciding polite was the best way to go. After a soft knock yielded nothing, I turned the doorknob and it clicked open. I padded softly and slowly into the room and seeing no one in the kitchen or living room, I peeked into the bedroom. I had found him, asleep on the bed, wearing nothing but the lose black sweatpants and in his hands, pressed to his face, was black shirt I had worn on the day that he had bitten me. I paused at the doorway, devouring the sight of him. I didn't know if he would be happy to see me, but I could live with him not being that way if I could keep his face, like this, in my mind. Finally I walked to the bed and sat down and quietly reached over and caressed his face. He hand snapped up like lightening and his iron grasped latched onto my wrist. I winced and muttered, "Be careful, I just got put back together." His eyes flew open and I saw the steel grey disappear into his normal shade of grey, "You're here." He let go of me and I pulled my hand away, "I am." "Why?" I flinched at the question but took a deep breath and forced myself to look at him, "Because I want to be." "Your father made it clear he would not honor any agreement between you and I." I tapped my finger to my mouth, "I think he was just hurt and pissed off." "That doesn't change the fact that you are no longer obligated to be here." He sat up and leaned against the headboard, looking out the window instead of at me. I thought about leaving until a felt a wave of hurt hit me. I inhaled sharply then reached out to him and grabbed his hand. "Why are you hurting?" "What?" His head snapped to look at me, "How do..." I couldn't take it anymore, I couldn't keep being polite and separate, trying to keep myself from the brutal truth that he needed to tell me. If he rejected me, then I would be his confidant, and help him through things. But I was human, and because of that I hoped that he wouldn't reject me. So instead I hiked up my black skirt and flung one leg over him, sitting in his lap, one leg on each side of him. He looked at me stunned and I leaned forward and kissed the nape of his neck then looked at him, "Because I belong to you. And Ill stay with you in whatever way I can." He stared at me for a long time, and the insecure part of me wanted to get off of his lap and tuck tail and run for it. But I wouldn't do it, I was a princess, I might be made of glass instead of diamonds like the rest of the royalty around me, but I still had some pride. Damien reached out and brushed his finger along the invisible mark and I closed my eyes savoring the heat that the simple act created in me. I felt him shift weight and before I could open my eyes, I felt his lips on the bite. I lifted my arms and held him to me, "Please let me stay with you Damien." I whispered and was answered with his mouth on mine. I answered with ferocity, pressing my lips and body roughly against his. I felt his tongue run along my lip and I opened my mouth, letting him taste me. I sucked and caressed his tongue rubbing my body up and down his as he pressed me closer to him. He broke the kiss to reach down and rip my shirt from me, my braless breasts bobbing into view. He grabbed one orb and massaged it, rubbing the pink nipple into erection before twisting it and pinching it softly. He lowered his mouth onto my other nipple and I gasped as he nipped and sucked. He fondled both, sucking and nipping on each nipple in return, until they were so hard it was almost painful and the heat that he had built inside of me was soaking my panties. I felt his erection through his sweatpants and I kissed him, my tongue delving into his mouth this time, drawing his tongue out with gentle sucking and caresses. I reached down, past his waistband and wrapped my fingers around his very warm, very hard cock. He moaned and pressed me closer to him, as I slid my hand up and down his shaft. Finally he broke the kiss and flipped me over pressing me back kissing down my stomach until he reached the hem of my skirt. He ripped it off and I couldn't help but to chuckle, "I would have taken it off." He smiled back up to me and licked across the hem of my panties causing me to shutter, "You take too long." He kissed my lace covered mound and I moaned softly as I felt his mouth over my soaking panties. His hands rubbed up my legs and he caught the edge of the panties and slowly pulled them down, watching me arch my back so he could get them off. He tossed them to the side and spread my legs apart and looked at my sex. I didn't get a chance to adjust to anything before I felt a soft, hot, tongue running up the length of the my slit. I shuttered in pleasure and moaned louder, wanting him inside of me, but also wanting his mouth on me as well. He licked at my outer lips, licking the juices off them, before licking the entrance. I laced my hands into his hair and he locked his mouth onto my opening and began to suck and lick, his tongue darting in and out of me. I moaned the writhed arching my back with need but then getting frustrated as I didn't find it. "Please Damien, I need you inside of me. I need you to fuck me..." His pants were off in a blink and he spread my legs apart even wider, lifting my legs and wrapping them around his waist. He leaned forward and I kissed him, enjoying my flavor on him before I felt his hot head pressing, slowly, into me. I moaned and writhed as I stretched to accommodate him. It felt like absolute bliss, he buried himself into me all the way and held it there while I gasped for breath. "Fuck me Damien...please." Damien didn't need anymore encouragement as he pulled out almost entirely before slamming it back into me. I moaned and as he kept doing that I began to meet him with my own thrusts. I heard him moan my name into my hair over and over again, as if he didn't believe I was really here. I grabbed his face and locked eyes with him as he kept moving inside of me. His eyes were silver and I moaned to him telling him how wonderful he feels. It seemed to spur him on because soon he was grabbing my hips and slamming me down to him as well. I felt the heat and electricity begin to build inside of me and I clenched down on Damien, in order to feel even more. The feeling must have been too much and I felt Damien expand inside of me, and soon his seed was being shot into me. The look of him cuming was too much and I exploded shortly after him, writhing and grinding myself against him. I had forgotten the drug addicted feeling of being with him and didn't stop moving against him. He gently flipped us over, never getting out of me, and I was now straddling him, looking down at him. I smiled into his silver eyes and he reached up and fondled my breast, "I want to see you ride me, Lilly." I nodded and began to rock up and down on him. Soon I found a rhythm and I leaned forward pressing my arms on his chest for stability. He felt amazing, sliding in and out of me, his cock pressing against the bottom of me. I moaned louder when he sat up and locked a mouth onto my breast. I pressed him closer and began to bob on him faster, pulling him off of my breast and pressing my mouth to his. He groaned and grabbed onto my hips, his body starting to thrust up into me, and his hands on my waist, helping me to slam back down onto him. We broke the kiss and he kissed my collar bone and licking at my nipples. I threw my head back and moaned for him, "Damien, bite me...please..." He didn't need further encouragement, but instead in a blink had us flipped over and was crushing his body to mine, his hips continuing to thrust in and out of me. He licked my neck and then with a soft moan of my name he sunk his fangs into my neck. It was like the world had exploded, or maybe I just did, but when his fangs pressed into me I screamed out and orgasmed the strongest orgasm I had ever felt. My pussy clenched down onto him with such force that he was soon coming as well, slamming into me over and over, my body screaming in pleasure, and me wailing for more. Finally he stopped, pinning my hips down to keep them from gyrating against him. He pulled his fangs out first and I moaned from the feel of it. He pulled away and looked down at me, and I smiled and kissed him. I kissed his lips, moaning for more but he just chuckled and shook his head, keeping my hips pinned down. He held me there for a few minutes while my body twitched and convulsed, slowly coming down from the incredible height I had been on. He released my hips and I fought the urge to gyrate on him, instead squeezing him with the inside of me and wrapping my legs around him. When my heartbeat started to calm down he slowly slipped out of me, and I simply sighed and turned to face him as he laid down. He tucked us both into his bed and I smiled, looking at his face as he played with one of my curls. I couldn't help but to kiss him again, this time the kiss being sweet instead of passionate need. I pressed my forehead against his and looked him straight into the silver eyes, "I love you." I whispered it and felt relieved as the look of happiness filled his features, "And I cannot exist without you." "Why?" I whispered teasingly. But he didn't say anything and instead closed his eyes and then I felt it. Like a blast of sunlight on a cold winters day, he loved me. Maybe he wasn't able to say it, but I could feel it and I closed my eyes and bathed in it. ****** This is in fact the end, I know it leaves a lot of questions, but I wanted it to. I want everyone to day dream about how Lilly's life ended, even if its only fantasizing about it for 5 minutes. No one can end a story better than a reader. I also wanted everyone to know that I am working on another story. I have about four chapters done, but these chapters are huge! However, after showing it to a friend, I was told that it was just too unique to put online, and that it had really good potential in the young adult market, that was before I added the sex scene (what can I say) Its another Vampire story, completely different lore this time. And the reason Im giving it to you folks and not trying to run around to publishers with it, is because thanks to Twilight, the vampire literature is just too saturated, and I refuse to be paid to continually over saturate a market, that and I doubt anyone would publish another vampire story. That being said, I am going to work on the story line for an actual book, just not vampires, maybe aliens...hmm...anyway this next story should be ready to start posting soon, within the month, I hope. Its taken over my life and I need to be done with it soon. And maybe if I everyone keeps on about Lilly and her story I could be persuaded to continue it, but only after this story Im working on, Ive got too much stuff im writing and its getting hard to keep them apart. I adore you guys, and Im sorry the ending was such a short chapter!! Don't hate me, you will love the new one!!! Storm
