Rayan slept peacefully for the first time in months. He was here as was his mate. He awoke early. left his room, and decided to go for a run. He was not alone. Brecken was up as well and joined him. The two needed to talk. Ma had been in touch and wanted to meet their mates and children. 

Before they left the alpha home, Rayan went into the kitchen to see if Suni had arrived. She had not, and the head cook, Ms. Kay, sent both men on their way. As they went out, several members of the pack joined them for their morning run. Some were Suni's brothers and Rayan knew he was about to be vetted. He was not alone; they were interested in his brother as well. Everyone was aware of that he was also claiming Mari as his mate. She lost her parents decades ago, so the men felt they were within their rights to check this man out. The males all undressed shifted and ran. Ryelle was in bed, curled around his mate. He sensed something was up and sent a command that no one needed to be hurt. If an altercation occurred, they faced him.

Tasha knew something was going on. Feeling down their bond, she sensed his annoyance. This was still new to her and she was adjusting. Being Madam Alpha was challenging. She was still learning how to control her bonds with all of the pack members. Ryelle was a great coach, and that made her love him even more. She knew the males were up to something. 

Tasha laughed. "So, if we have a daughter and some gorgeous guy comes along to take her away, you're going to be like all calm and cool?" She teased.

Ryelle laughed, "Hell no. I'm practicing with Olivia and Dreya. When we have our daughter, it's lockdown 24/7, no breaks. And then if some snot-nosed boy sneaks through, he has me and her uncles to deal with, including Lee-John." He added smirking.

"Oh God, you are not putting our daughter on lockdown. She will have the same freedoms as the other kids within our pack." Tasha added. Then she laughed, "Besides, that's not something we need to worry about right now anyway."

Ryelle nodded. Lavinia had given birth, as did several pack members. He and Tasha had yet to conceive. Latonya and Lugz were excited about their son. Damian and Kas were not in a hurry. Ms. Nancy told all of them they had plenty of time, just wait.

Ryelle got up. "Babe, we need to move to the alpha home. I just... Well, father lived there and... " He sighed, unable to complete his thoughts.

Tasha hugged him. "Baby, I am down for you like four flat tires. Whatever you decide, I'm here." She whispered. Ryelle smiled,. With a mate as strong as his mate, then he'd be alright.

The group of men ran, racing through the vast forest, enjoying the fresh morning air. The coolness of the morning coated their bodies as they exercised their muscles.

Stopping, the men shifted and sat. One of Suni's brothers spoke. "I like you, Rayan; you too, Brecken. Just take care of my sister and niece, ok." He added. He could have challenged both men, but his sister would not be happy with that. Besides they ran and talked. He realized that this man loved his kid sister, so much so, that for over a year, he held out on claiming her simply out of respect for the alpha and father. As they ran, Rayan and Brecken talked, Brecken was besotted with Mari, from the inflection in his voice, her pack mates, knew the girl would be taken care of forever.

One of the males that joined them had to ask. "Will your family accept them? They are different from you and we know a lot of people have problems with it?" He asked.

Brecken answered, "Mari is my life. When I see her, all I see is beauty. Anyone that has a problem needs to work on themselves. Mari and Naru are my family now, just as Suni and Dreya belong with my brother. No one will come between us." Brecken stood before the wolves, and reiterated the words, "No one."

Knowing the alpha's decree, the wolf backed down. He eyed Brecken once more, "Mari is special. If you had not come along, then maybe... Look, just knew I'm keeping tabs. You fuck up, and I'm stepping up." He whispered,

"Message received. You need to find your own mate. Mari is mine." Brecken declared.

Suni's brother stood and called a halt. Soon the males shifted and returned home. Rayan and Brecken went to dress for breakfast as the other males went about their morning too. 

"Brecken, are you alright?" Rayan asked. He had never seen his brother so close to the edge since they became adults.

"He wants her. She is beautiful and I can understand, but she is my mate, my heart. He looked at me as if I'm lacking. I wonder if Mari feels the same to an extent. Dark Weres are unique in their abilities to adapt and evolve. As fair Weres, we have not changed much at all. I need to get myself together." Brecken sighed.

"Brecken, you are not just a wolf, but more. Yes, the dark Were is an amazing creature, but brother, so are we." Rayan reminded him.

Rayan waited, "Come on, our ladies and children are waiting for us."

"Mari knows what I am. I told her about the dragon. She seemed to be okay with it. She has to work today, but I wish she did not. We need some time to ourselves as well." Brecken sighed.

"I have to tell Suni. I will today. Hopefully, she will accept it because I can't give her up." Rayan stated. Brecken realized that his brother was actually afraid. He had not sensed fear in him since they were three years old and father rescued them. 

"She is your other half. She loves you, and will accept you." Brecken sighed, "Trust me. I'm the oldest." The two laughed and headed to breakfast.

They entered the dining room and Suni smiled when Rayan entered. Brecken searched and saw Mari feeding both Dreya and Naru. He smiled and walked over. Leaning down, he kissed her forehead sending a clear message to all of the males at Jackson. Mari was his and from now on off limits.

The males that ran with them early received the message all except the male that wanted to challenge him. Brecken looked at him and knew that he might be a problem.

"I can't have children. When Naru was born, there were complications." Mari explained.

Brecken listened and said one thing. "That won't be a problem. When we mate, I want you and only you. Would I like more pups? Yes, but we have a son and I am content. Besides, who knows. Once we join and your body absorbs my dragon DNA, it might heal you and we can have all of the children we desire. My dragon is powerful, so don't worry. I love you, Mari. As the oldest of the brothers, he always tried to protect Rayan. She wept for him when he described the death of his mother and laughed at his antics as a teen.

 Caitlyn ordered, hugging Suni mentally.

Chapter 3

They joined everyone in the dining room at the alpha home. 

Ryelle was up and waiting for Suni and Mari to arrive. In all honesty, they were happy for the couples, but Ryelle was ready to return his brother and sister.

Jebutu greeted his brother and felt a since of pride. He knew, Ryelle was ready to take his post. Olivia saw her uncle and lit up.

Ryelle laughed. Taking his niece from her dad he showered the little girl with love. 

Tasha sent,  You claim to want twins, mate. Really, your brother and sister did you in. 

Ryelle laughed. You got jokes. Who dressed Dreya this morning? Ryelle teased his mate, noting his baby sister wore pink pants, a yellow dress, and blue hi tops. 

Tasks laughed. The fates were right on giving us more time. We are definitely not ready to be parents.

Mindy started at her, terrified and nodded. She quickly got up off of the floor and left the room. Everyone was quiet. Rayan was stunned. He smiled. His mate was more than capable of defending herself. She surprised him everyday. His dragon and wolf growled. They wanted her, now. 

Suni faced her mate, and sent, Not now, tonight.

Mrs. Green laughed. The two women left. "Here I was worried about you. I should have been worried about her." 

The two returned to the compound and Serena called them to her office. Suni entered nervously, as Serena ordered them to sit. Serena faced her and asked one question, "Why did you allow the women at Jackson to mistreat you when you could have beaten their asses?" Then she laughed. "Everyone knows about that woman. They are so happy that you put her in her place. It was about time." She prattled on.

Suni talked with Madam alpha a bit more and then had to return to her duties. Serena found her mate on the phone with his old friend, Conor MacLean. He explained to Serena and they agreed that they would talk with the two families and explain when they would leave. 

"I need to talk with the girls and explain that their family is different. I don't want them to be frightened. The children are amazing and will probably adapt easier than their mothers." Alpha Bertrand surmised.

Serena smiled, but she suspected the brothers had already contacted each other. Having met the dragon twins years ago, she knew they were extremely protective of their wolf brothers. She was certain that if they had not already met the girls they would before they flew out. 

"What?" Bertrand asked.

"Do you remember when the boys first arrived? They had unannounced visitors. Their brothers made themselves honorary members of this wolf pack. Do you really think they have not met their mates by now?" She teased.

Bertrand laughed, "You're right, I'm sure both Suni and Mari are familiar with at least two of their family members."

Serena nodded. "We can talk to them later. Right now, mate, I need you to take care of me." She whispered. 

Bertrand hardened instantly. Kissing his mate, he turned her away from him. "Shift." He ordered.

Chapter 4

Mari and Suni adjusted well. The children were easily accepted and adored. The Alphas gladly welcomed their new members. One day, Bertrand called both brothers in. He asked them to meet him in his office early one morning. Brecken and Rayan reported to their alpha's office. They entered and were not surprised to see Andrew sitting there. As head beta, Andrew often attended meetings with Alpha Bertrand. The men entered, and greeted both men cordially. Mentally, they both checked on their women and the girls were fine. They were visiting with other pack members and they were curious about why the alpha needed to see them.

Waiting in his office, Bertrand welcomed the young men warmly. Andrew spoke, as he too was aware that the brothers planned to travel to Scotland to visit family soon. The alpha and his head beta shared a look. Andrew knew the twins never talked about their family. He suspected decades ago that they were different and after watching them closely, he went to Bertrand. Bertrand confirmed his suspicions, but they agreed that they were not a threat. They were members of the pack. However, now they were traveling back home soon and had mated. Bertrand took a breath and addressed his pack members. "Gentlemen, I spoke with your father. He is excited about your visit. I wanted to talk to you because I am concerned about your mates." Rayan frowned.

"Alpha, I assure you that my mate is fine. What exactly are you concerned about?" He asked. Brecken waited. Andrew did not speak but watched the brothers carefully. He and the alpha knew that these two men were special.

"Have you told them about your family? Do they know about the dragons?" He asked. He knew they probably had, but as alpha he had to ask.

Brecken answered, "Yes, we have."

Then Bertrand continued. "Did you let them know that your DNA is mixed as well?" Both men froze. Their eyes flew to Andrew. Andrew's features did not change. Rayan started to stammer. Brecken froze.

"Alpha Bertrand, let us explain. We never meant to deceive you. No one can know about our altered DNA. Father told us to tell you, but there was never a good time." Rayan started to state. 

Andrew hissed and spoke, "Decades, you have had decades to tell him. You mean to tell me you could not find one moment in all of that time?"

"Andrew, we had to protect our family. If this gets out, it could be trouble for them." Brecken explained.

"Enough!" Bertrand bellowed. He faced the brothers, "I am your alpha, and I know both of you. I also know you two have a part of you that does not answer to me. It's fine. Your secret will never be revealed. Your parents are two people I trust most in this world. That fact alone is one reason your true natures will never be revealed." He sighed, "Suni and Mari need to be told though. Tell them if you have not already." He suggested.

Andrew spoke at this point. "You two are great men. You are members of our family. Let me be the first to say that your mates are amazing. They are beautiful, strong, and a true credit to our pack. Honestly, I wish I had visited Jackson much sooner, maybe I would have caught one of their interests." He teased. Brecken and Ryan bristled. Andrew laughed. "They're yours. No one here would ever cross a line where they are concerned and we will defend them with everything in us. Just take care of them, because in all honesty, those girls deserve to be cherished."

Brecken and Rayan looked at the handsome beta and nodded. 

Facing the alpha, Brecken smiled and he knew. "Alpha they know. We told them before we left Jackson. They accepted us for who we are. They had questions, but we answered them." 

Rayan sighed, "If you know Ma, then you know she has already introduced herself. So they know about us and our family." 

Bertrand smiled, "Congratulations! Congratulations on your mating and your little one that will be here soon." He added, tongue in cheek.

"Wait? Mari is expecting, already? When?" Rayan questioned.

Bertrand laughed, "I am their alpha too. Besides, my mate is very observant." He concluded. "Now, we must talk about your trip." Brecken and Rayan sat and waited.

"I talked with Conor, and I know your brothers are having a mating ceremony with their new mate. I want you to go and not worry about anything here. You will take the pack jet to Thailand. Your dragon brothers will be waiting there for you. You'll travel then in your family jet to Scotland. Boys, just come back home OK. I know Conor is your father, but I considered you mine as well." He added. Ryan and Brecken shared a look. Their alpha surprised them today. They had no clue that he was aware of their dual natures.

"Alpha Bertrand, thank you, we know we should have told you about our dual natures. There is really no excuse. We never mentioned our other part because it could be dangerous for our families." Rayan explained.

Bertrand laughed and looked at Andrew, "Your secret stays between us. Conor saved me and I am forever indebted to him. You are his sons; no one will come against you. Stop worrying. Now, those dragon brothers of yours are trouble. Don't let them convince you to stay in Scotland, OK." He admonished. Rayan and Brecken relaxed. They missed their women, and needed to tell them of their travel plans.

Alpha Bertrand excused them and then he and Andrew called to arrange their flight out. The women were enjoying each other's company. Rayan and Brecken watched and smiled. Their mates would love their family in Scotland.





Brother Wolves Ch. 04



Rayan took a moment to pack Dreya's pack and the necessities they would need to have on hand, Ray, are you two almost ready? Layton sent. He could not wait to see the children's reactions to the cats.

We're getting there. Shouldn't you be checking on Ciara? Rayan sent.

Aidan chuckled. Yes, brother. I told him the same. I think he is practicing.

Practicing? Wait? Brothers are congratulations in order. Rayan asked as he felt the joy his brothers shared.

Yes, kittens, we suspect our mate will enter into her fertile cycle once more. So we need practice and our niece and nephew are perfect guinea pigs. Aidan sent.

Rayan was happy for them. Ciara was not very young, and being older in human years she was past her childbearing years. However, as part dragon, she should be able to have young again. The same rang true for his brother. Brecken confided in him when he learned of the complications Mari suffered as she gave birth to their son. The girl and little boy almost died. Brecken was angry, but then they mated. Rayan believed their DNA was powerful and the dragon helped heal his sister. Now, his brother was expecting his second child. He had not told Mari because he wanted to wait to be certain everything would be alright. So far, all was well. 

Suni had not conceived, but he knew it would happen in time. Besides, until then, he had a beautiful daughter to spoil rotten. We will meet you at breakfast, brothers. He sent and they disconnected.

Soon everyone met up and the three males wore matching smirks. Suni noticed and raised a questioning brow at her mate.  Love, let's just say our family is growing. He sent.

Suni smiled as she caught Ciara's eye. Ciara? A baby? She sent to her mate.

Rayan responded,  My brothers are hopeful it will happen one day. I am happy for them. For now, I want to enjoy the day with my two most important girls. Suni smiled.

Mari gasped, "Oh my goodness." She said as the sun glistening over the soft waves of the Khao Laem Lake caught her eye. Brecken agreed with his mate. The sight always rendered him speechless every time her and his brothers visited. "Momma, don't cry." Naru whispered.

"Love, what's wrong?" Brecken asked. 

"I'm fine. I'm so happy to meet Ciara and your brothers. I don't know why I'm crying, and I really want roasted peanuts right now. It's unbelievable. I haven't wanted those since I was pregnant with Naru." She sobbed. Everyone was quiet.

Mari kept talking and soon she realized no one was speaking. Tell her. Rayan sent.

It's too soon. When we get home and she sees the doctor, and she says the babies are alright, then I'll tell her. It's too soon. Brecken sent as he gently held his mate close.

Naru hugged his mother as Dreya joined her brother and hugged her aunt. Soon, Mari laughed and told her son and niece that they were the best ever and because of their hug she was not crying anymore. Ciara smiled as her phone rang. She answered and assured her friend that they would be at the monastery soon.

Soon they entered the cafeteria at the hotel, and were seated. Placing their breakfast order, the adults discussed their day. Ciara talked about the monastery they would visit. Soon their taxi arrived and the group was off. 

The driver knew exactly where to go. Everyone was in silence as they drove across the picturesque landscape. Soon they saw the sanctuary, on top of a hill with gorgeous columns. As they entered the monastery, Suni and Mari gasped at the simple beauty. Monks greeted them

"Welcome, they are waiting to see you." He greeted hugging his friend. Ciara introduced her family and the monks were immediately attracted to the young ones. Realizing the other ones were werewolves, the monks cautioned the parents about the dangers of big cats. However, these were Ciara's friends, and she reassured them that they were safe. 

Soon they entered the Sanctuary. "Mina, a beautiful but rare Asian tiger, greeted Ciara. Ciara smiled and stroked her friend. They wolves stayed back and the children were in awe of the beautiful creature. The cat looked at the pups and chuffed for them. Before their parents could catch them, Dreya and Naru wanted to meet a new friend. Mina was expecting and her mothering instinct had kicked in as she nuzzled the pups. Ciara explained, that Mina considered the pups hers, she would never harm them.

Soon, each member of her family was allowed to touch the beautiful tiger. Soon, Mina needed to be tended to and the group continued their tour. Cats were not the only creatures in the sanctuary. 

Many different kinds of animals roamed freely. The Monk explained that the animals often came for safety, but could return to the wild when ready. Their main concern was the cats. So many had been killed and they were trying to reintroduce them to the wild. He asked is they wanted to visit the nursery. They had three cubs that lost their mother and were being rehabilitated. 

Everyone was interested, but not yet. Ciara had a special friend she wanted everyone to meet. It was at this point that both Dreya and Naru were attached to their Tia Aria, and had no plans to let go. As they walked, an animal roared causing the group to jump. The Monk took them to a hut and asked them to wait while he investigated. Ciara wanted to join him, but as a tourist, she would be a hindrance not a help. 

Soon he returned and announced that one of the leopards they rescued was about to give birth, Ciara smiled and sent positive energy to her friend. They continued their walk. 

A small pup, a dog, found his way to the children. The small wild dog growled and took a defensive stance. Both Rayan and Brecken reacted immediately. Both men were silenced as their children faced the frightened pup and soon comforted the animal. Within minutes, the three small ones walked together. The Monk was impressed. He knew Ciara was gifted, and it seemed her new family members had a gift as well.

Ciara soon introduced her friends to her most special feline friends. Over the years she had visited and formed a bond with many of the cats. Some had not seen her since they were kittens, but it was if they had never been apart. Layton and Aidan watched over their mate as Brecken and Rayan walked with them. Soon the little ones grew cranky, and the small group returned to the monastery to prepare to leave. Holding on to the dog, Naru asked if he could come with them but Rayan explained to his nephew that the pup had to stay with his family. So the toddlers bid farewell to their friend. Suni held her daughter and Mari held her son, both babies were sleepy.

Ciara realized that the girls never really got a break form their young ones, so she had a suggestion. "May I make a suggestion?" She asked. Aidan and Layton perked up, as they wondered what their mate was up to.

"Suni, Mari. You two need some time for yourselves and with your mates. I want to suggest that we hire someone to watch the babies, if only for a little while to give you all a chance to be in adult company." Suni and Mari shared looks. They were not comfortable leaving their children with just anyone. Ciara spoke and explained. "Suni, Mari, I know the perfect person. Mama Goa. She loves kids and I know she is trustworthy." She explained. 

Suni smiled, "OK, let's meet her. But it will only be for a while, right?" she asked. 

Mari waited, and Ciara smiled "Yes, only for a little while." Ciara agreed.

The small group returned to their resort and were placing the kids down for a nap. Layton and Aidan wanted Ciara to rest, but she insisted on calling her friend. Mama Gao agreed to come later and Ciara agreed to rest, but not without her mates.

Chapter 5

The next morning, the group met and Ciara had a surprise for them. As they met in the lobby, a beautiful, older woman waited. Ciara entered, and the lady smiled. The two old friends greeted each other and Ciara introduced her friend at her new family.

Madam Gao nodded in greeting and was well aware that the people she greeted were not ordinary people. She knew Ciara had special gifts, and often she guided her. Soon, Mari and Suni shook her hands as their mates held the children. Madam Goa smiled, and she saw that deep inside these girls were so very special. She then greeted their mates and the young ones. The children were curious and then they smiled. Madam Gao laughed and she felt decades younger.

Madam Gao spent most of the day with the couples. The pups loved her, and were constantly seeking her attention. The longer she stayed with them, the more comfortable Sun and Mari were with her. By the end of the day, they had no qualms about leaving their young in her care for a few hours. 

"I promise you they will be safe with me. Go, enjoy your time. Call and check on them, but we will be fine. We will stay here in the hotel until you return." She explained. 

Then she smiled at the little ones, as their fathers reluctantly placed then near her. "Have you seen the aquarium little ones? Come, let's eat, and I will show them to you." 

Suni hesitated, but Rayan hugged her. We will not be away long. Rayan sent. Naru moved to Mari and did not want to release her. Rayan hugged Dreya and told her to be good for Madam Gao. Madam Gao coaxed Naru into her embrace and whispered something to him. He smiled and Mari relaxed. Soon the adults waited as the children settled for dinner, and then they went out.

Suni and Mari were silent. Neither wanted to show that they were anxious about leaving their young with someone, but as soon as they drove off, both parents got a message from Madam Gao.

Suni relaxed and the adults simply enjoyed being together. The brothers joked and shared stories of their childhood causing the women to laugh uncontrollably. Suni relaxed and Rayan was so happy. His dragon brothers shared a look because although they too had their mate and were happy, seeing their wolf brothers so content warmed their souls.

As they arrived at a small eatery, the group entered and the host seated tem immediately. Ryan and Brecken checked on the kids. Even though they tried to appear calm, they were nervous about leaving there young ones in someone else's care.

Satisfied that the children were fine, the men focused on their mates. The waiter came and they ordered. Brecken ordered for him and Mari, which kind of annoyed her, but he sent her a mental hug and she smiled. Soon, everyone had their drinks. Suni noticed that Mari had a mild red wine, where everyone else had more adventurous drinks. She did not comment. Soon, the ladies went to the restroom, leaving the four brothers alone. Mari and Suni called and checked on their young as both Rayan and Brecken vanished in. The kids were engrossed in story time.

The couple talked waiting for their meals. Ciara asked the girls about their pack. Mari smiled and she and Suni told them about their home. Aidan and Layton were tickled at the proud looks on their brother's faces. Ciara was captivated. Soon, she told the girls about her home and her son. They felt a kinship because Ciara was a single mom like them.

As they talked, Brecken checked on the twins and they were sleeping, content. 

Rayan smiled and the women never caught on. Soon, their meals arrived and the group ate. Leaving a generous tip, the group complimented the chef. The group left and Ciara took them to see the magnificent night spots in the area. Brecken held Mari close as Rayan cuddled Suni. Both Aidan and Layton held on to Ciara. They would visit Thailand for a few more days, and then the entire group was traveling to Scotland. 

A few hours passed and the group returned to their resort. Madam Gao and the children met them. The children were so excited and told their parents about the fish and pictures they drew. Suni and Mari hugged the much older woman and thanked her. She smiled and told them to call her anytime. She loved watching such well-behaved children.

Aidan and Layton wanted to carry the babies. So as uncles, each took a little one as their fathers watched. Layton and Aidan smiled hoping the Gods blessed them soon. Carrying the children, the adults walked to their rooms. The kids did not want to separate so tonight Brecken and Mari agreed to keep Dreya. Then as kids always do, they demanded a bedtime story. Ciara did the honors.

Before long the kids were bathe, dressed, and tucked in. Brecken wanted Mari to rest and she was now curious. He'd been acting strange the past few weeks. "Brecken, what's going on with you? You're hiding something?" She queried.

"I know I've been a pain, but I was waiting for the first few months to pass. You are ten weeks, well past your first two months." He stopped. 

Mari was crying. She would be a mother again. She would give her mate children. "Wait, can I carry the babies to term? That's why you wanted me to see a healer after we mated. You knew." He asked awed.

Brecken nodded. He never lied to her. And he would not know. "I believed my dragon healed you when we joined. He told me so, but I needed to be certain. The healer at Jackson and the one at Bertrand told us we can have children. What happened before was unexpected, but I'll be there every step of the way with you."

Mari hugged her mate and the wept tears of joy together. Rayan shared his brothers' joy as his slumbering mate murmured for him to sleep. Layton and Aidan lay beside their mate. Each holding her between them amazed at her. She accepted their sisters and brothers with no hesitation. The children loved her and they knew when they had there one little ones they could not have chosen a more perfect mother. Snuggling into her, the brothers shared in Brecken's joy.

But all was not well, in a room across the way a handsome dragon sat. He hated the MacLean's and those wolf brothers of theirs. He watched them with their women tonight and fumed. How did those cretins attract such beauty? Soon, he returned to Scotland. The wolves would visit home, but he'd make sure it was their last visit. His friends had not hunted werewolves in a while now they had six to kill.

Suni squealed and the three women hugged as tears flowed freely. Dreya and Naru were confused. Then they felt cold.

Kulkrit entered the lobby. Shadowed, no humans or were w would see him, but the babies did.

Goom.  Naru sent. 

Poppa. sent Dreya. Both fathers collected their children immediately. "He's here." Ciara whispered.

Suni and Mari reacted immediately moving to protect their young. "Wait? Who?" They demanded.

"No one, just an old enemy of our father. We will stay away from him." Layton explained, as the four males placed their families in the center of their circle. It was then Aidan saw the guards. He knew things were not as simple as he tried to make it sound.

Father? He sent.

I will deal with Kulkrit. Keep my new daughters and grandchildren safe and happy. Conor replied. Soon the atmosphere lightened. Who ever came in was gone. Mari and Suni were tense. Ciara sent them a soothing hug. 

Returning to his room, Kulkrit paused. His sister warned him decades ago to end this feud. When MacLean took away his magic, his sister stayed by his side and helped him recover. She told him that despite everything he'd done, she loved him. He was her brother and she had to protect him. He knew Gao's loyalty was with the Scottish clan. It saddened him because she had to be punished. When he drank the blood of Nakenda and regained his strength, she would pay for her disloyalty. Even though he'd grieve, his sister would die first.

The little ones felt him. Amazing! For ones so young, to see through his magic they were gifted. Those two were powerful and exactly what he needed.  Kulkrit returned to his human form and rested.

His rest did not last long. Gao appeared. 

"Kulkrit, stop this madness now. The Laird MacLean let you live before. He will destroy you before he allows you to harm his family." Gao insisted.

"Sister, are you fucking him? Are you his whore?" Kulkrit sneered at Gao. She would die. He wanted MacLean to see her fall. After he drained the blood of the Nakenda, MacLean would be unable to stop him. When he was done then he was killing all of them, but not before he tasted Caitlyn. His whole life she was the only woman he wanted. Now, soon, even though she would die, he'd enjoy her for once.

Gao was saddened. Her brother had decided to leave this world and she would not interfere this time. Centuries ago she begged that he be spared, and Conor showed her favor. Now, she stepped back. She faced Kulkrit once more and whispered. "Goodbye, my brother. I'll see you again one day." Gao vanished to the home of Conor and Caitlyn MacLean. Kulkrit needed to be dealt with.

The four brothers and their mates had no idea that their young ones were who Kulkrit wanted. They spent the day, alert, but not aware of the real danger. Brecken and Layton, spoke with the guardsmen their father sent. Aidan and Rayan were with the women and kids. Each brother, even more determined to protect their mates and their young. 

Alpha Bertrand sensed something, and called his pack members. The brothers were honest with their alpha. Bertrand knew that Conor would make sure no one harmed them, but still they were his pack. There were no wolf packs in that region of the world. However, he was now alerted. His second in command, Andrew was alert and ready. "Alpha, I can go to Scotland. Do the brothers need backup?" He asked.

Bertrand faced his beta. "They are still in Thailand now. They fly to Scotland in a few days. I will let you know if I need you to go over there. For right now, they are alright." 

Andrew nodded, accepting his alphas words. He was sure Rayan and Brecken would be alright, but they had their women and children. Those four were not accustomed to traveling. If something happened to them, Andrew was going after whoever caused them harm. Bertrand saw his intent as he stared in his betas eyes.

"Andrew, let me make the call. Don't force my hand." Bertrand whispered.

Andrew exhaled, "Alpha, I won't. They need to come back home. I won't sit here and let them be harmed. Suni is not used to being away." 

"She's mated Andrew. Don't become hung up on a woman you cannot have." Bertrand warned.

Andrew faced his alpha, "I know she belongs to him. I know Dreya is his little girl. I also know my heart, and I will fight to protect them. They are our pack members, and we must make sure they are safe." Andrew then walked out. Bertrand was worried. He would call Conor, but first he needed to talk to his mate. Maybe a woman would see a better way to handle this.

Meanwhile, Bertrand spoke with Conor. Conor felt proud that his friend was willing to send reinforcements. He wouldn't need them. This issue of Kulkrit would be dealt with sooner rather than later.

He wants their blood. Ciara sent to her males.  That's why he wants the children.

Gao faced them. "I'm sorry, I should have come sooner. He won't get near them again. Your father comes." She explained.

The adults faced her. There distrust evident. Ciara stood, and sent calming waves of energy to everyone. Gao sounded the same; she was the same height, but she was also more youthful than the woman form the night before. Suni and Mari went into protective mode as did their mates. Gao understood. They were right to protect their children.

Naru and Dreya knew her. Struggling with their parents to be released, the pups rushed into Gao's sweet embrace. Seeing the children accept her, made the adults lighten up a bit. 

"Gao, you look different?" Sun observed. 

Gao smiled. "I am dragon. I am of the Ming Clan. My brother and I are the last of our kind. After tomorrow, we will exist no more." Gao explained.

Corralling their children and mates, Aidan demanded to know how the guy got through. Where was security? The guards had no real answers. Kulkrit snuck past them. Aidan then changed the guards' protocol; until their flight was ready, two guards were with the women and kids at all times.

Brecken took Naru from his mother and held him close. He apologized for failing him and letting the man hurt him. Naru didn't know why his daddy was upset, but he loved being held by him. He lay his head on his shoulder and whispered, "I love you, Daddy." Brecken gasped.

Suni felt awful. Here they were trying to protect them and she was being pig-headed. Her pigheadedness distracted them and allowed this bastard to hurt Naru. Rayan assured her she was not to blame, but she had to apologize to Mari. Mari held her friend, and told her it was OK. Naru was safe now. Ciara joined them and they all comforted each other. The dragon brothers called the wolf bothers to them and revealed what Ciara shared with them.

The wolves were furious. There was no way in hell that psycho was getting near their children again. The men needed their mates. So each man went to spend time with their families. 

Meanwhile, Conor reported to the temple. The monks welcomed him. They knew this day would come. So they allowed the Scottish dragon and his men the space they needed. Conor needed rest, but he needed his sons more. 

Conor arrived a few hours earlier. Flying was exhausting, but he needed to get there sooner rather than later. Not wanting to give Kulkrit a chance to level an attack, Conor was immediately on the of defensive. He sent to his sons, announcing his arrival. The young men replied, relieved. The dragons reported to landed near the retreat and were alert. Before resting down, Conor vanished to Aidan's and Layton's private quarters. Both men greeted their father, calling Brecken and Rayan to join them.

The boys did not visit long, but returned to their mates. Not wanting to upset his new daughters, Conor returned to the temple. Each male told his mate that father was here now. All would be handled soon.

Soon everyone needed to eat, Aidan called room service and had food delivered to their suite. Brecken and Rayan along with their families joined them. Gao had gone at this point, but Ciara was concerned about her. She was so despondent. Was she alright? She wondered. All of a sudden her boys sent her a message,  Mummy she will be OK. We love you. Ciara smiled, and both of her males moved to hold her close. 

Brecken held Mari and sent messages of affirmation to their twins. Naru called out, "Daddy, I want a hug." Everyone gasped.

Rayan raised an eyebrow. "Daddy? Well, well, it seems someone has been upgraded." They laughed as Brecken lifted his boy and tossed him into the air. Rayan held his Dreya close as she lay on his shoulder. Suni smiled. Her mate was a wonderful father.

After everyone had eaten, the men told the girls to pack a light bag to take with them the next morning. They would have everything else shipped, but they wanted them out of the country and in the castle as soon as possible. Each of the women agreed. They went to their rooms and packed. Soon they lay down. Brecken placed his ear on Mari's stomach and listened to the heartbeats of his children. Mari smiled and stroked his dark hair. 

Soon, the women slept as their mates kept watch. Night came and the bright morning sun creaked through the windows. All four men were alert and waiting to hear from father.

Sons take my daughters and grandchildren to the airport. The jet is ready. I need the four of you with me now. All four young men were instantly alerted. Naru and Dreya wanted their daddies, and both Brecken and Rayan swore to them that they would be alright. They had no time to pack, just go. A cab took them to the airport where, the MacLean family jet awaited. 

Conor and his guardsmen waited at the airstrip. The brothers escorted their mates and children onto the tarmac. The plane refueled and took off. Conor faced his boys. Then said "Follow me." They left. They did not return to the hotel, but went straight to a palatial home. 

Gao had to try once more to reach her brother. Conor told her, if he could be dissuaded then he did not have to die.

Gao entered his home. Kulkrit was ready. "I beg of you, brother. Please stop this. We are the last of our kind. We can go on and exist without causing bloodshed."

"You stupid bitch, you come here to beg me to give up." Kulkrit advanced on his sister. "I always knew you were too stupid for your own good." He struck her. Gao cried out as she fell over from the intensity of the blow. Her cries angered him even more. Grabbing her arm, he snapped her wrist. She was now defenseless. She could not fight back. Gao begged for mercy, but the monster she faced was no longer her beloved brother. In his fury, Kulkrit beat his sister. She was a rag doll in his hands. Unsheathing his dagger, he was about the end her, when he heard a clamor. The Scottish dragon had arrived. Flinging his sister's listless body aside, Kulkrit left her to bleed to death.

He flew down to face his arch nemesis. Conor was stronger, more powerful than he remembered. Without the blood of Nakenda, he was as weak as a babe. 

"You fool. I let you live decades ago. You have squandered my gift to you." Conor hissed.

Kulkrit eyed him with hate. "You humiliated me. You made me worse that a she-boy , worse than an old dried up woman. You, Conor MacLean, took away my manhood. You made me a laughingstock amongst our kind. But, today I will be restored. I will kill you and your strange sons. Then I will find their women and take the blood of the Nakenda."

Conor knew. He wanted his grandchildren. As long as they were in the Americas, Kulkrit could not touch them. But here, they were at his disposal. 

It did not matter. He would die today. Brecken and Rayan heard his words and realized he was after Naru and Dreya. He was after their children. Unaware of their wolves, Alpha Bertrand was alerted. He called, but they ignored him. Andrew was ready to go immediately. Brecken, Rayan, Suni, Mari , the children were pack. He was bringing them home.

As they talked, Kulkrit's henchmen surrounded them. They attacked Brecken and Rayan first. Aidan and Layton went to their rescue, leaving Conor alone to face an angry Asian dragon. Kulkrit charged and using hot pepper powder, he blinded his opponent. Unable to see, Conor fought in vane as the black and red dragon shifted ready to kill. His wolf sons fought diligently, as did their dragon brothers. They had to help father. 

As soon as one of the dragons was thwarted they were besieged by another. They saw father was in trouble and fought even harder to get to him. Kulkrit could not win. They had to protect their family. The dragons ripped into the brothers, each one had to rely on each other to fight such powerful foes.

Brecken and Rayan leaned on their wolves. Allowing the wolves to come forward, they shifted. The wolves, backed by their dragon, took control, and the fight became more evenly matched. Dragon blood was awful, but they took their necks. 

Kulkrit had beaten Conor viciously, as he now had two henchmen holding him. He smiled in victory. Soon he would take the MacLean castle and drain the children. He would be restored. His family would be powerful again. Caitlyn would belong to him.

Conor fought even harder, now blind and injured, he had to defeat this man once and for all. He remembered finding his two sons. They were so small, and brave, his Caitlyn said they were theirs.

Kulkrit, held Conor's neck, his claws digging into his skin and he whispered., "I should have had my hunters kill those two bastards and let you find their rotting corpses with their mother. You are a disgrace. How dare you raise such beasts as your own? Don't worry about those brats, they won't live long. When I drain their blood, their sacrifice would have been worth it."

Conor swung, connecting with Kulkrit. He could not see where he was, had no clue if he still had a weapon, but this was it. He sent one prayer, a prayer for sight, and he saw him standing, brandishing a sword. Conor lunged forward, taking him down. With surprising strength from some place unknown, Conor's energy renewed, He ripped Kulkrit apart. His sons grabbed him, pulling him off of the dead dragon. Kulkrit's band of dragons retreated. The fight was over. Several guardsmen went upstairs where Gao lay bleeding out. Conor ordered them to get her help. The three dragons shifted. Conor could not vanish, he was too damaged. 

Brecken and Rayan vanished to Scotland where Caitlyn was waiting. They told her of the injuries Conor sustained. Aidan and Layton were with him, and would bring him in on the family jet. Caitlyn waited. It seemed like an eternity then the boys brought their father home. 

A healer met them at the airport and stabilized their leader. It was touch and go. His eyes were burned. He had numerous cuts, which were not healing. Kulkrit laced his weapon with a chemical of some sort. But he was breathing, and that was half the battle. 

For three days the clan waited. The Laird of the MacLean Clan was in dire straits. Gao was brought with him, and she too was damaged severely.

Caitlyn welcomed her daughters, and her grandchildren home a few days ago, but she didn't really spend time with them. Right now she stayed with her mate. Day two passed, and Alpha Bertrand called. He was devastated by the news. Day three, came. Every one still waited, still watched. Then Caitlyn sat beside his bed and dozed.

"Just like a woman, always sleep when her man is ready for attention." A raspy voice whispered. Conor had woken up. His eyes were bloodshot, but he could see. The pepper had done a lot of damage.

Caitlyn screamed for her family and her sons all four rushed in. Each young man sat beside their father. Each young man touched him. Each one was so happy that he survived. Conor smiled. He promised them he'd keep them safe. He could not go back on his word.

On the other side of the house, a beautiful woman lay on her bed. She had no one now. Her entire clan was gone. A part of her wished her brother had succeeded.

"Gao, you have us. We may not be blood relatives, but you saved our children and that makes you family." Suni whispered. Mari stood beside her and agreed. 

Ciara spoke, "Never think that you have no one Gao. You have us."

Unable to stop them, tears rolled down her perfect cheeks. "Kulkrit was not always evil. He was not always that way." She whispered. Suni and Mari understood. Life changed people. Sometimes something so horrible could happen to someone that it shaped who they became. They understood that better than anyone else.





Brother Wolves Ch. 07



Shifting everyone aside, Caitlyn made room for her friend. The dinner went on as everyone engaged in chit-chat. Gao was silent, mostly listening. Andrew's eyes never left the small woman sitting at the table. He noticed that she did not eat. She pushed food around her plate. His wolf was concerned, but he'd tread carefully. He needed to know what he was facing where his mate was concerned.

Soon the dinner ended, and Gao excused herself quickly. Andrew stood, his wolf whimpering as his wolf felt her sense of deep despair. He faced his host; his eyes demanding an explanation. Brecken and Rayan stepped forward and offered to help clean as Andrew volunteered to help them. The cook told them "no" and kicked them out of her kitchen. They decided to go for a run, and Conor reminded them to be careful.

Over time, laws had been passed to protect wolves, but these were his sons. Conor never forgot the damage hunters caused year ago. Aidan and Layton joined the group. Once the males reached the forest, Andrew had questions. The brothers shared a look. This was Gao's story, but Andrew needed to know what he was up against. The four males told him about the fight in Thailand and how Gao's brother was put to death. They glossed over quite a bit, but Andrew was not fooled.

"What happened to her?" He demanded. She was hurting deeply. He had to know exactly what she went through.

Rayan told him that she was almost murdered by the brother she grieved and tried to protect.

Andrew was silent. His mate hurt, and he would do everything he could to help her through her grief. Soon, the males shifted. They took off. Aidan and Layton transformed and flew with their brothers. The males ran until they felt spent. 

Andrew raced across the vast lands. He had to think, and running cleared his mind. He had to find a way to help Gao. Exhausted, and unable to run any further, the three wolves were spent. The dragons landed and rested with the wolves. 

It was late, and they needed to get back. They decided to return home. Andrew wanted to see Gao, and the brother's agreed that they could go by her room. They pretty much ignored her and that was rude. So returning, the five males stopped at her suite.

Deciding this was not wise, they smiled knowing at least know Andrew knew where to go. The males missed their mates, so they went to their rooms. 

Brecken was not surprised to find his room empty. Walking to the nursery, he found Suni, and Mari holding their children telling stories about their home. They stood and listened. The stories of the Jackson Pack fascinated them. Soon, the babies dozed. The men came and took the babies, placing them in their cribs.

Brecken lifted his mate and carried her to their room. Rayan and Suni walked behind them chuckling at his brother's over protectiveness. Once they were in their room, Brecken put Mari down and she reveal the tight red and white boy shorts and white tank top she slept in often when he spied on her. Brecken was instantly aroused. Mari chuckled. Her mate drove her insane with need. She was his whenever he desired her.

The moment he saw the tiny almost nothing she wore, his body hardened. Mari giggled, because her mate was insatiable. 

"Did I ever tell you about the first night I saw you wearing this? I damn near lost it. This was after I vanished in to see you. You had just put Naru to bed and Suni called you. You were wearing this little white and red terry cloth robe. I did not follow you into the shower, but I did check on Naru. He was sleeping. You came out and went to your bedroom. You were wearing this outfit and I almost came. You lay down and could not sleep. I sent you some thoughts. 

Mari frowned. "You sneak. You're the reason I was so darn horny. I'm still not happy about being stalked, but I'll forgive you." She teased.

Brecken moved quickly kissing her neck causing her to giggle. Her body was changing ever so slightly, her bust line was a bit bigger, her hips a bit wider. He loved it. The sound of the children's heartbeat was steady and sure.

"I need you, Mari." He whispered.

Mari sighed, "I'm yours Brecken, forever." 

Brecken laughed and thanked Luna once more for his mate. He spent the next few hours worshipping her body. As she lay curled tightly in his embrace, Mari whispered. "Your mom is the best. We're going shopping tomorrow." Mari yawned and then Brecken told her about his outing. 

"Wait, Gao is Andrew's mate? Is that possible?" She asked. Gao was her friend, and she would protect her. She cared about Andrew also, but they were two different species.

Brecken lay back and sighed, "I think it's possible.. His wolf claims her. You know once the wolf decides, there is no turning back."

Mari nodded, and then she yawned. All of a sudden she felt at peace. Ciara sent her a calming wave. Mari, we will take care of Gao. She needs us. Ciara sent. Mari agreed and soon after drifted to sleep. 

Rayan kissed his wife as he also told her about his run. Suni loved listening to him. She yawned, and he held her as she drifted off to sleep. Suni loved him here with his brothers. Her mate laughed, played, and she saw glimpses of the young boy he used to be. His parents were wonderful and she had never felt more cared for.

"Babe, Babe," Suni interrupted his tale.

"Honey, what is it?" Rayan asked concerned.

"I love it here. This place, your family is wonderful." Suni whispered.

Rayan smiled, "Sweetheart, my family loves you. As a matter of fact, mother told me that if I do anything to make you unhappy, she's boxing my ears." He teased. Suni giggled. She moved into her mates arms. 

"Rayan, love me." She whispered.

"I do Suni. I love you with my whole heart, with everything within me." Rayan responded. Kissing her passionately pinning her beneath him, Suni lay contently waiting for her lover. Entering her warm sheath, Rayan saw the heavens explode behind his closed eyelids. Moving in and out of her body, Rayan joined her completely. They were one mind, one body, one soul. His only mission was to please his Nubian goddess, his Suni. Shifting his body, he lay beneath her. 

"Baby, you're in control. You own me; I'm yours." He whispered. Suni rocked back and forth, loving the feel of her mate buried deep inside of her body. Rayan loved his mate until her body hummed only for him. Then, knowing exactly what she desired, he drove her into a mind-numbing climax. Her body collapsing on his as his body gave up its life giving fluid filling her womb.

He held her as she tried to move. He loved feeling her on him. Their skin touching, their bodies still joined. Soon, Suni slept.

Rayan soon followed. Conor refused to spend another night away from his mate. So he and Caitlyn returned to their bedroom. Caitlyn was extra careful, and Conor grabbed both of her hands.

He saw how this incident affected her and he talked with his mate. Caitlyn broke down, and Conor spent the night soothing his mate. He reminded her that all four of their children were home. Their oldest boys were joining with their mate in a few days. Then he teased her; maybe she could convince their new daughters to allow them to have a ceremony for them as well. Although wolves did not usually engage in such ceremonies, Caitlyn realized that this was something she wanted for all four boys. Rayan and Brecken are wolves. She thought,  But they were raised dragon. Caitlyn laughed. She could picture her sons all four uniting with their mates for life.

"Conor, do you think it's possible? I'll take with Mari and Suni. If they agree, Brecken and Rayan won't have a choice." Caitlyn whispered. 

Conor smiled. She was no longer crying and for him that was a good thing. His last thought before sleeping was this. Those boys are in for a surprise. Then he too slept holding his mate in his arms.

Caitlyn slept peacefully. Conor was OK now. They were all safe. She needed rest; tomorrow she was spending the day with her daughters. She and Ciara were shopping for her dress and rings and if she had her way, Mari and Suni would buy one for themselves as well. Her children were home, and her family as safe. She was blessed.

Conor held his mate, loving the feel if her. Meanwhile, Andrew lay in his bed. The bed was extremely comfortable. As a matter of fact, the MacLean's had gone all out to ensure his comfort. But his wolf hurt. He never thought he'd meet her. At least he wasn't really looking. Now he'd found her and not only was she beautiful, she was hurting. He knew she was dragon and he was a wolf, but that did not matter. Rayan and Brecken were mixed. She was his mate and right now, he had to find a way to help her deal with her pain.

Morning dawned early in the highlands. The castle was busy. Andrew walked out of his room and was amazed to see dragons of all sizes in their true form. Conor reverted back to his human form and was moving around issuing orders. He saw Andrew and invited him to join him. Andrew was amazed at how quickly the dragons worked. They were building the platforms for the ceremonies. Andrew was more than happy to help. 

The grooms and their brothers joined them and reminded Conor that they needed to be fitted. Andrew waved them off when Conor laughed. "Oh no, you are our guest and you need to be fitted as well." 

Andrew started to protest. He had no expendable cash to purchase wedding attire. It wasn't really an issue. All he had to do was contact Bertrand and the pack would cover his cost. Andrew decided that it would be rude of him to refuse but before he could accept, Conor chuckled. Conor looked at his sons and they all smiled, "It's covered. Now, think of a new excuse. If we have to go do this, then you're with us." He added.

Andrew sighed and joined his host and they went back inside the castle. Caitlyn was making sure everyone had breakfast. 

Let me make sure Gao has her breakfast delivered. After last night, I was hoping..." She didn't finish. Andrew stood. "Excuse me." He headed to the bedrooms. Stopping in front of Gao's room, Andrew knocked.

"I'm not hungry. Please, there is no need to leave anything." Gao replied.

"Gao, it's Andrew. We are about to have breakfast and I was hoping you'd join us." He called.

"I'm not really hungry, and I'd hate to make the others uncomfortable. Please, enjoy your meal." She explained.

Andrew sighed. "Gao, please. Join us."

She found that she could not refuse him. "OK, I'll come down." She added

After a minute or two, Gao opened her door. She wore a plain pair of slacks and beige top. Her hair, pulled back at the nape of her neck. Her almond shaped eyes big and clear, as Andrew's heart pounded. He reached forward, but Gao stopped. It was too soon. He'd wait. One day soon, he'd comfort his mate. Walking slightly ahead of him, Gao joined the family for breakfast. When she entered the room, Caitlyn hugged her quickly. She was her friend. No matter what happened, she'd help her through this.





Brother Wolves Ch. 07



Yes dear, those were my favorite sleepwear. And in the next year, you'll thank me too.  Caitlyn sent.

Suni gasped. And Mari was concerned. Suni dashed out in search of her mother. Mari followed. Caitlyn sat in her office waiting, When Suni entered, she smiled. "No, you are not expecting yet, but you will be soon. " Caitlyn whispered.

Suni was disappointed, but Caitlyn hugged her close. "You think Dreya is spoiled. When you have your pups, a more indulging father you will never meet." She whispered.

Suni and Mari shared a laugh, and were so happy to have such wonderfuls. Dreya and Naru were so excited when Grandma Caitlyn gave them the gifts she had bought for them. Dreya held the princess doll she bought her so tightly and called the doll Gammy. Naru saw his stuffed wolf toy and called it Goom. Mari laughed and wondered what her mate would think of his new namesake.

Soon, the caretakers came to help the young ones dress for dinner. Suni and Mari were a bit hesitant at first. But the kids' reaction to the young woman made her smile. Lisa took the children and the when decided to take some time and finish freshening up.

Soon the four women met, with other members of the clan and everyone talked. Caitlyn was extra boisterous and bragged on her new daughters. She even told everyone she was planning two ceremonies instead of one. She was determined that all four of her boys have a ceremony. Suni and Mari shared a look and laughed.

Ciara was so happy. Gao stopped smiling. She decided to simply go to her room. "Thank you, Caitlyn and ladies for allowing me to accompany you. I had a wonderful time. I'm heading to my room. You should spend time with your families."

Gao stood to leave as the men returned. Conor smiled and greeted his friend. He knew she hurt, and he would be forever grateful. "Gao, you can't leave yet. We are about to have dinner, and want to share our stories with you."

Brecken and Rayan shared a look. If Dad got to talking, he'd tell everything. Andrew saw the look the brothers shared and laughed. Instantly, he stopped beside Gao. She did not pull away and his wolf preened. "Please, Gao. Will you join us tonight? You won't believe what these guys put me through." He added.

The males understood what Andrew was doing. Gao suspected that he wanted her to stay by his side as well. This time, she needed to be alone. "I'm sorry. I can't. I need time alone." She added before fleeing from the room. 

Andrew froze at first, then he followed.

"Gao, look, I know about your brother. I know there is nothing I can say to relieve your pain, but I want you to know that I'm here." Andrew spoke as she continued to walk away.

Gao turned around, "Have you ever lost someone that was all you had in this world?'" She asked.

Andrew faced his mate. And answered, "No, I haven't, but I have lost loved ones. Fortunately, I had my pack and siblings to help me through. Let me help you. Don't push me aw..." Gao's face scrunched up.

"You have not lost the last person that shared your blood. You were not left alone. You don't know how this feels. I wish he had succeeded in killing me because then I wouldn't be hurting." Gao declared as tears flowed freely down her cheeks. Caitlyn sobbed, because Gao's pain was so raw. Conor moved to her side. Brecken and Rayan moved to get Andrew.

No, stay away. Andrew sent.

"Gao, don't say that. Never say that" Andrew whispered. Her dragon rose and faced the wolf. 

"I have her now. She will rest. We need you wolf, but not if you think you can walk away. I won't have her hurting anymore than she already is." The dragon explained.

His wolf growled as she turned away. Gao. He sent.

I know who you are. So does my human, but she is grieving. Until, she can function, we cannot be with you. The dragon sent. 

Wait, you can reach me mentally? Andrew sent, surprised

The dragon sighed, I have waited decades to meet you. You are ours. Wait for us. Then Gao went into her room.

Andrew watched her walk away as Brecken and Rayan joined him. During the day, the men talked. They understood that Andrew's wolf recognized Gao as his mate. Curiously, Brecken asked could a wolf and dragon mate. After all, they were two different species. Aidan laughed, "I'm dragon, as is Layton and our mate is a werecat. We've mated and are expecting young ones. Why can't they mate?" He teased.

Andrew was annoyed at first, but soon realized that Brecken was not intending to disrespect him in anyway. Conor spoke and explained that all creatures that were shape shifters were intrinsically human, so humans could marry other humans. The males accepted his explanation and went about their day.

The men had to get their suits and the brothers asked Brecken and Rayan to stand for them. The wolves were honored. The men selected similar tuxedoes. As his guest, Conor insisted that Andrew purchase a new suit as well. "Besides, when you convince Gao to mate with you, she will deserve a ceremony and I will be honored to sponsor it." Conor explained.

Standing outside of her door, listening to her sob, broke Andrew's heart. He had to comfort her in some way. Her dragon recognized him, and soon she would acknowledge him as well. Tomorrow as the gathering for the ceremony began, Andrew would not leave her side. He had a request. He needed to speak with Caitlyn.

The three males returned and Andrew faced Caitlyn. "Mrs. MacLean, place me beside her. I need to sit with Gao. I am asking you to please grant this one small request."

Caitlyn smiled, "She is strong. She'd hurting right now and it won't be easy. I like her with you though. So yes, Andrew. Your place is beside her." 

Andrew smiled and thanked his hostess. Ciara yawned, as did Mari and their mates insisted that they rest. Suni told Mari she'd take care of Naru, so she could simply lie down. The two women left and Suni and Rayan corralled the young ones. Andrew looked back towards Gao's room, and decided that no matter what, she would know she was not alone anymore.

Conor and Caitlyn shared a look. This would be interesting.





Brother Wolves Ch. 08



So excited right now. In this chapter we have another overlap with The Dragon Twins. There is actually an excerpt from that story.

Chapter 8

Andrew stopped. Everyone was silent. Then Conor smiled as he and his mate bid their guest good night. The ceremony was the next day and they needed rest.

The day of the ceremony dawned bright and cheery. Aidan and Layton hesitantly released their mate, but knew that in a few hours they would be officially joined. Ciara joined her new sisters and the three women ate a light breakfast. Naru and Dreya stole the show. They were so excited that Ciara could not help but smile. The morning grew late and the women had to prepare for the ceremony. 

Ciara was quiet, and Suni and Mari chatted. The children were impatient, but Tee tee Ciara told them to be good and they would try.

Soon all there women were dressed. They each smiled as Gao stopped by the dressing room. She was amazing, the gown she wore showed off her curves so appealingly. Suni and Mari knew that Andrew was not leaving her side even for a moment. "Ciara, I want you to know that I am happy for you. For years, I have watched you grow to become the woman you are now. Aidan and Layton are blessed to have you as their mate." She smiled, and added, "Your sons will be just as challenging as both of their fathers. You will have your hands full."

Ciara smiled and hugged her friend. "Thank you, Gao. I'm so glad you are here with me."

Soon, Caitlyn returned and she and Gao took their seats. 

"Ciara, you are absolutely beautiful." Mari stated awed. She now understood why humans wanted this. For that day, you were the center of attention. Mari smiled, she had her mate and did not need that but she understood why some did.

Soon Conor came to the door. He knocked and then entered when invited. He smiled. All three women were visions of loveliness. Suni and Mari flushed at his compliments as the left to take their places. Then he faced a nervous Ciara. 

Reaching out for her, she secured her arm in his. He escorted her ti the two men that were hers for all eternity.

Brecken smiled as the ceremony began. Dreya walked in, wearing a gorgeous dress with her hair styled in waterfalls, with lilies adorning her crown. She was accompanied by three more little girls that were just as angelic. But for Brecken and Rayan, Dreya was the cutest one of all.

Then, the pipes began to swell as the young boys came in. Leading the boys was a handsome tyke, Naru. Brecken could not help but chuckle at his son decked out in the purple and gold tartan. Naru seemed to love the attention. Brecken knew he was looking at a future heartbreaker. Rayan smiled with him. Then the bridesmaids entered and both men felt as if they were waiting for their brides. Their dragon brothers were nervous, excited, and thinking way to freely.

Suni entered first, and Rayan forgot to breath. He was remembering the first time he laid eyes on his ebony beauty. Brecken smiled, as he too was enthralled when his mate entered. Layton wanted to tease both brothers, but now was not the time to do so. Mari entered, and Brecken knew that she was all he ever wanted. As he stood, he faced Rayan. The brothers shared a smile. 

Mother wanted a ceremony, but each male explained that they would not have time to have one. They needed to return to their pack. Rayan had obligations with his patients. Brecken simply could not take any more time away from his job. Mari was having the baby in a few months and needed to prepare. Caitlyn smiled and asked, "If I can find a way, will you do one before you leave." The brothers could never say no to her, so they gave her their consent.

"Mother, we can never deny you. If you can arrange a private ceremony for the four of us, we'll stand before a minister." Brecken gave in. 

Rayan smiled, "Besides, Suni thinks that the sun rises and sets with you. If I refuse, she'll never forgive me. So like Brecken said, if you arrange it, we will be happy to do it."

Caitlyn sat and smiled. After this public wedding, her other two sons were having their own private ceremony. It was arrange so that their dragon brothers could be there to witness. Gao sat next to Andrew. 

Gao was more than conscious of his presence. Despite the fact that her heart was broken over the death of Kulkrit, a part of her was fascinated by the handsome wolf from the states. The tall, handsome wolf had no idea how he affected her. She snuck peeks at him. He was absolutely gorgeous. His dark brown hair was pulled into a tight thong at the nap of his neck. The chords of muscles in his neck disappeared beneath the collar of a stylish charcoal gray suit. Gao exhaled, as her dragon stirred.

Andrew checked on his mate. He noticed that she was eyeing him appreciatively. He smiled. Tonight, he'd spend time getting to know her. He wondered if he could convince her to go back to the states with him. His wolf growled. She is ours. She belongs with us.

Soon, the traditional sounds of Highland Wedding march filled the room. Everyone stood in awe as the bride entered, Ciara glowed as she floated toward her mates. Conor held her tightly, so proud that the colors of his clan were so beautifully displayed. He felt another surge of pride as he also noticed his other two new daughters proudly wearing their gowns with a small piece of the MacLean tartan displayed on each. His boys all four looked so handsome. Yes, today was a proud day for the MacLean clan. 

Ciara took her place at the altar. As the music reached it crescendo and ended, both dragons looked so serious that Ciara sent them waves of calmness. Layton smiled, and they faced the minister. 

Suni and Mari were impressed with how good their wolves looked. Watch it, mate. We'll find a bathroom and lock the door for a while if you keep thinking those thoughts, Rayan sent, knowing exactly how naughty Suni's thoughts were becoming.

Brecken used his abilities to send a mental picture of all of the things he'd do to his mate when they were alone. Mari coughed, temporarily causing people to whisper. She sent a quick command Stop it! Brecken simply winked.

All four brothers laughed with Ciara threatening to make all of them regret it if they did not stop. Knowing their new sisters powers, Brecken and Rayan focused from that point on.

Soon, the ceremony ended. Mari watched her mate as he interacted with his extended family. The children were ecstatic. They loved playing with their dragon cousins. Mari and Suni shared a look as they realized that this reminded them of home. At Jackson, a lot of the children were related and close. The photographer called the entire bridal party together to take final pictures. The newly married threesome had to sign their official documents before attending their reception. As their guest headed to the sight for the exclusive party, the small family joined the minister in his office.

The minster was so happy. This was not something that occurred every day. Aidan and Layton teased their brothers as the two couples were placed in position. The minister thanked them and congratulated both couples. Since they were already mated, he modified their ceremony.

He went through the traditional lesson on love, trust, and honesty. The wolves smiled, because this was something each had already sworn to each other.

Then the minister allowed the couples to speak. Rayan faced Suni. He said to her, "You, Suni, are my whole world, my life, my heart. From the first moment I saw you, I knew there was no other. Thank you for becoming my mate for life." He smiled as his mate watched him with tears in her eyes.

The minister the addressed Suni, and she spoke. "Rayan I did not believe I'd ever meet my mate. I mean. Look at me. I'm plain, shy, and from a small pack of a few people. The first day you entered our pack lands, my wolf knew you. I resisted because a man as magnificent as you would never want someone like me." She chuckled, "I'm glad I was wrong.' Everyone laughed. The pastor then faced Brecken. Brecken was the more serious of the two. He spoke to his mate.

"Mari, the first time I saw you, you were cleaning. I was invisible and Rayan had to threaten me to make me remain so. After seeing you the first time, I popped in often. I actually drove in with Rayan once and met your Alpha. I wanted to destroy him for what he'd done, but then I saw how much he meant to you. Your affection for him made me fall even harder. 

I checked on you often, and made sure no other guys get close. Baby, I sabotaged a few of your dates. He grinned, "Sorry." Although it was clear he was unrepentant. When you accepted me, my life was complete. I love you, Mari. I love the family we have created together. Thank you for trusting me with your heart." Brecken whispered.

The minister then turned to Mari. Mari looked at her mate, her lover, and said a short phrase, "Brecken, really, You know that was wrong, right?" then she sighed. "You're lucky that I love you. You are my life. For the first time in all of my years on this earth, I am where I belong." Mari stroked Brecken's cheek, and smiled, "You are a stalker, but you're my stalker. Thank you for choosing me."

Brecken and Rayan stood before the mipuffed out thir chest abit. Rayan and Layton sent Mess this up, and we're coninh after you.

Rayan and Brecken growled mentally at their brothers. Ciara swiped their shoulders, "Behave!" She whispered. The dragon brothers along with their new wife tried to hide their tears. They could feel their joy through the bond the four of them shared. Then the pastor asked if anyone had something to share, and Caitlyn and Conor stood. Rayan and Brecken shared a look. Layton and Aidan were curious as well. Being wolves, they were already joined, but this was for their mother. This ceremony was for the one woman that accepted them as hers. 

She had a gift for her sons. She faced them; her eyes shimmering with tears. "Boys, from the moment you flew into our lives. You have been a blessing for us. After Conor found you, I sent him back to find anything that your mother and father left. " Caitlyn explained.

We did not find much, but Conor found this small picture. I know I should have given this to you decades ago, but for some reason it never seemed like the right time. Caitlyn joined her sons and gave the each a black box. The boys opened their gifts as their mates sent them soothing hugs. They gasped simultaneously, as they lifted identical pendants from their snug homes. Opening the pendants, each man shed a tear as the saw the faces of their mother and father. 

"I forgot how Mama looked. It's been so long. She's beautiful." Rayan whispered.

Brecken stared at the picture as he cried." We look like him. We look like our dad."" His eyes flew to Conor. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean..." 

Conor scoffed. "You both look like him. We were not able to learn much, but we hired a world renowned artist to take the picture and replicate it and make these pendants. With some digging, we found out a little information on your original pack. You two are the final descendants of the MacGregor Pack. They migrated here to escape massacre, but sadly both of your parents were killed. I am Laird of this land, yet I failed to protect two vulnerable creatures. I am so glad I found you. From the moment I laid eyes on you, you were my boys. I apologize for not telling you about your pack sooner, but like Caitlyn said, it never seemed to be the right time. 

He then lifted two jewelry boxes. Caitlyn and I had these made for you and your mates. Conor then presented both couples with the Maclean crest. "I know you are wolves, but here in our hearts you are dragon."

He then place a golden pendant in crested with ruby on each of his daughters. The officiate cleared his throat, recapturing everyone's attention.

"Now my favorite part," He added. "Rayan Maclean and Brecken MacLean, you may kiss your brides." Both men grabbed their mates and kissed them slowly. Everyone cheered, as Dreya and Naru jumped up and down with excitement. Aidan picked up Naru and Layton picked up Dreya. The couple separated and everyone laughed. Then the wolf brothers and their new wives, signed their official papers. Afterwards, the group traveled to the reception.

Caitlyn laughed. ""True, but if we do and the child is like his brothers, then you wil take full responsibility."

Conor laughed, "Maybe we'll have a daughter this time." 

Caitlyn smiled, "A daughter," She thought of Dreya. "Yes, that would be nice."

He sent to Madam Alpha Serene to bring Mari, then he escorted her to the special room. She cried. She touched every piece of furniture, every little outfit, traced their soft blankets, and thanked the Gods for such a wonderful man to share her life with.

Much to Brecken's excitement, Rayan came home. He sent to his brother and the small group rushed to their home. Naru and Dreya were so happy to see each other the adults were forgotten. Suni saw the nursery, and for a second she was envious. Mari wilted, but Suni quickly apologized. Rayan held his mate. He knew she wanted another child, but he did not know it hurt her so much.

We will have our little one someday my love. He or she will be perfect because of you Rayan soothed his mate. Suni smiled and then launched herself into Mari's arms. "Until I have my own little one, I can spoil both of yours." She declared.

Gao and Andrew stopped in, and Suni greeted her happily. 

"Oh, just so you know, Aidan, Layton, and Ciara will be here tomorrow. They won't stay long but they wanted to see us." Brecken explained.

Suni began to panic when Mari spoke, "The Alphas are letting them stay at the Rose. There is a three bedroom apartment available and they will stay there. That way we all will still have our privacy." Suni relaxed and sent to her other sister. 

Ciara was so excited about seeing them again, that she sent that they were in flight. Both Suni and Mari could not wait for them to arrive. 

Gao had not seen her friend since she came to the Americas with her mate , so she too was excited for her friends to visit. Ciara checked on Gao almost daily and the two women grew even closer. Rayan and Brecken offered to retrieve their brothers, but Bertrand had other plans. Although the brothers were dragon, he knew Ciara was expecting. He wanted to make sure they came to his home safely. 

Calling his top wolves, he already had a beta waiting for them at the airport. 

As Aidan and Layton exited their jet, the betas were not surprised to see two huge males accompanied by a beautiful, very pregnant female. The wolves retrieved the luggage as Ciara was helped to the car. Aidan and Layton searched for their brothers. Where are you? Aidan sent. The dragons helped their mate sit in the SUV, while they traveled to the compound.

Rayan replied,Here waiting. Have you guys landed?

Yes, on the way to the compound now. Layton replied.

The brother wolves were excited, filled with anticipation. Mari and Suni just smiled. "Come on boys, your brothers will be here soon. Serena smiled, and everyone was excited to see their new guest.

They were met by their brothers and families as they arrived at the compound. Brecken did the introductions when they met Alpha Bertrand and the rest of the family and their friends within the pack, all wishing them a great stay.

The three were offered private quarters for their stay, near their brothers and families. For Ciara is was also a chance to see and learn how a true Were pack lived and worked. She loved it and was very impressed with those she met and found everyone very helpful answering her questions after being told she could ask anything; that everyone would explain to her and the history of the pack. 

Plus it was a chance to catch up with her dear friend Gao and her mate Andrew. Having said her farewells to her brother, she had chosen to leave Thailand permanently and settle with her mate and his pack. Gao had become part of the childcare team within the pack, having always loved kids. She also had her new friends in Suni and Mari, who adopted her as an older sister. Now that she was effectively part of the MacLean Clan of Dragons.

The three loved their stay and were made most welcome by everyone during their visit. It soon sadly came to an end as they had to head home while it was still safe for Ciara to travel. Both fussing no end over her now. She sympathized with Mari but had two, to contend with constantly. They all managed to see the funny side for the most part but the women also wished their mates would let us just a little at times. 

After their family members returned to Scotland, Mari had enough. One night Brecken decided that she would not lift a finger. He even had Naru spying on her. She was annoyed beyond belief. When he decided to puree her meal so she would not have to chew, she snapped. So vocal was she that two betas knocked to see if everything was alright. Mari glared at the wolves, who unlike her mate, knew not to irritate a pregnant female, backed off. Then one suggested t Brecken and Naru that they run. The two males kissed Mari and left her alone.

After they left, Mari felt guilty. He was only trying to take care of her and she was being a bitch. The twins kept kicking and she knew they were upset that she made their daddy and big brother leave.

Half an hour later, Brecken and Naru returned home. Mari hugged both of her males and apologized for being such a bear. Brecken smiled and kissed his mate. Naru hugged his Mom and then rushed off to his room. The twins settled, and Brecken made her a sandwich, no blending required.

Chapter 9 

Brecken and Naru returned home and Mari greeted them. She thanked her mate and reminded him of her love for him. Soon, he helped Naru into bed and joined his mate as usual. He spent time talking to his little ones. He was excited. His mate would give birth in a few months. He wished the babies were due on his birthday, but in all honesty, he had no real memory of when that was. When Mother and Father adopted them, they chose the day they joined their family as their birthday. He really had no idea how old he really was. But he knew they found them when they were between three and five. More close to three, he believed.

Mari waited. Brecken was silent. "Are you talking to them mentally?" she teased.

Brecken laughed, "No. I was trying to remember being with my mother. I don't remember a lot. I remember being hungry and cold. Then for a moment I was happy. I remember eating a delicious rabbit and then Momma was so cold. 

Dad came and took us with him. I never saw her again. I never knew her real name. Macgregor pack, we are the last of that pack. She died trying to take care of us. I understand, because I would do the same for you and our children." Brecken exhaled.

"Mari, can they have MacGregor as a part of their names. I ask this in honor of my pack, my parents. You can refuse and I will understand, but..." Mari shushed him.

"Yes, my love. I would be proud for them to wear the MacGregor name." Brecken hugged and kissed his mate. "I want to name them in honor of my parents as well. Our daughter I would like to name after my mother and our son after my father." 

Brecken nodded, "Alright, perfect."

"Nesha MacGregor-MacLean is our daughter's name and Derrell MacGregor -MacLean is the name of our son." She whispered and her heart filled with love. She laughed out loud as Brecken smiled. 

"Beautiful, our little ones like their names." He laughed and then joined her in their bed. He held her close as she drifted off to sleep.

Weeks passed, and Suni was happy for her sister. However, Gao knew she was hurt, but she suspected she would not feel so down for long. Suni had a glow about her, but she was not saying anything. It was for her mate to tell her. She smiled keeping the secret to herself.

Love, what are you smiling about? Andrew sent. He was actually contemplating taking a couple of hours and seeking out his mate.

Nothing that concerns you wolf. Shouldn't you be working? She chastised. Andrew chuckled.

Andrew laughed as Gao sent him an image of what she would wear for him that night. Andrew groaned and the other wolves looked at him and laughed. It seemed the head beta was communicating with his sexy mate. He was one lucky wolf. Gao was every man's wet dream.

Suni was tired. It made no sense. She slept all night, ate healthy. She'd go see a healer if this persisted. She felt awful. The thetas that worked with her insisted that she go home and rest. Mari learned that Suni was ill, and went to see her.

Naru and Dreya were at school, so at least she could rest.

Rayan was at his office when Alpha Madam Serene contacted him. He came home immediately. Suni was lying down and Mari smiled when her brother came home. He spoke and Mari said to go she'd let herself out. 

"Babe, what's wrong?" He asked.

Suni explained her symptoms. Rayan insisted that she rest. As she slept he lay beside her, his head across her abdomen. Then he heard the slightest sound. His heart stopped. He leaned in even closer, careful not to wake her. He heard it again. Relying on his dragon, he searched deep inside of his mate and he met his child.

"Sweetheart, don't be scared. Your Mommy and I have prayed for you. We want you so much, my love." He sent. His heart was racing. He would be a father again. He had a daughter in Dreya, but this was different somehow.

"You will love your big sister. She can teach you so many things." He whispered.

The baby sent him waves of love and Rayan actually cried. His mate, his beautiful Suni was giving him a daughter.

Suni awoke and felt rested. She saw her mate sitting and was embarrassed. "Babe, you didn't have to leave work. I'm fine, just tired. She explained.

Rayan smiled, "We're pregnant. We'll have another daughter."

Suni was shocked, and then tears filled her eyes. "Rayan, are you sure?"

"I listened to her heartbeat. She responded when I talked to her. We have another daughter." He insisted. Suni flowed into his arms. Brecken felt his brother's joy and was extremely happy for him. He knew he'd share when the time was right.

That evening, Mari retrieved the two children and waked to Sin's home. As soon as she entered Suni shared her news. Mari cried tears of joy. Brecken came by and Rayan shared his news.

Suni wanted to contact her Mom and Dad so they called them. As she was calling her parents, Rayan contacted his Mom and Dad. Caitlyn was over the moon. A new baby was always welcomed news.

However as happy as Layton and Aidan were for Rayan and Suni, their joy was short-lived as they realized their own sons would arrive soon. Layton and Aidan lost it, leaving it up to Ciara to inform the wolves that their twins would be born within the next few hours. Sensing their mate's excitement, both Sun and Mari awoke. Their mates told them of the impending birth and each woman wanted to be there for Ciara. 

Knowing it would be impossible to be there physically, the women ordered both brothers to vanish home. The males were torn. Yes a part of them wanted to be there for their brothers. Yet they didn't want to leave their mates. 

"Rayan MacLean, go now. Your brothers need you. We will be fine." Suni assured her overly anxious mate. While she was ordering Rayan to go, Mari was having the same discussion with Brecken. Both men conceded and vanished home.

Waiting at their brothers' home were Caitlyn and Conor. Caitlyn asked about her daughters and demanded to know that both girls were cared for. Both Rayan and Brecken assured their mother that their families were fine.

Through their bonds, they could tell their brothers were a nervous wreck. Letting them know they had arrived, both dragons mentally embraced their siblings.

It seemed like an eternity passed and then the twins arrived. Aidan and Layton were overjoyed and everyone shared in their joy. Soon, everyone checked on Ciara and the twins. She was fantastic, and both Brecken and Rayan had to admit their new nephews would be heartbreakers. Each male congratulated the new Mom and kissed her temple in a sign of affection.

Soon, the next day dawned, and the wolves missed their mates. As they were saying goodbye to their parents and siblings, Caitlyn told them she was coming to visit once Ciara was settled. She needed to see her grandbabies and check on her daughters. "Conor will call Bertrand and arrange my visit. I'll be there in a few weeks." She explained.

Inside, both men sighed, Brecken sent, Bro, remember the last time Mom visited the compound. Between her and Madam Alpha Serene, we were ostracized for almost a decade. If she sees anything she disagrees with where our mates are concerned, she'll never leave us alone. He groaned.

Rayan replied, It will be fine. She'll check on our mates. Believe me, they will be so excited to see her, she won't have time to torture us.

Entering their thoughts,  She won't, but I will. I'm coming too. Conor sent.

Aidan and Layton were talking. "Guys, thank you for coming over here. I know it was hard, but we're glad you were here when they were born."

The brothers hugged, and soon after Brecken and Rayan returned to the compound.

Mari and Suni were waiting. Rayan laughed, "We have two new nephews. Their names are Brodie and Jessie."

Brecken smirked, It was obvious he was smitten with his nephews, "Sadly, they look like their dads."

Mari and Suni shoved their mates and told them "All babies are beautiful."

"Oh, Mom and Dad are coming to visit in a few weeks. I know you missed them, and they miss you all just as much." Brecken explained, kissing his mate.

The kids woke and then they went to breakfast. Suni and Mari quickly found Gao and shared the news of the birth. Gao was already aware as Ciara called her as the twins slept. She even vanished in, and held her new Godsons. Gao stated that the babes were absolute perfection.

Mari and Suni shared with her that Mum was coming to visit. Rayan served his mate. Suni was going to see a healer, and make sure she and their daughter were fine. Rayan was reporting in to his office late because he was accompanying his mate.

The Alpha couple entered and smiled as they saw all of the members of Bertrand interacting so easily. Breakfast ended, and Rayan went with Suni to the medical center. After answering a few key questions, the nurse administered the test.

Returning to his office, the doctor smiled as he congratulated the new soon to be parents. Suni cried and hugged the doctor and Rayan was over the moon.

The two went straight to their alphas. Upon sharing their exciting news, Serene insisted that Suni call Hattie immediately. She ordered Rayan to call Caitlyn.

Everyone shared in their joy.

Rayan went on to his job, but kissed his mate and ordered her not to overdo things and rest if she needed it.

Dreya and Naru were at school. Mari and Gao were at the daycare, so she had to wait until evening to share the news with her sisters. Meanwhile, Rayan was all smiles at work. His coworkers noticed and he could not help but share his wonderful news. Everyone was excited. They liked Suni, and they all knew how much this couple wanted another child.

The day went on uneventfully. Rayan had a new patient coming in. She was under state care. They weren't sure what was wrong with her, but she actually hurt several people. She was obviously homeless, and needed to be placed in a mental facility. However, one of the court officials suggested she be diagnosed before they locked her away.

The female entered his office. Every wolf that worked there identified her as rogue. She was deadly and dangerous. Zena Kimber had gone rogue. She no longer cared. Alphonso accused her of hurting Jackson. He said she caused dissention within the pack. Dissention? Her? How?

Then he threw her out. He forced her to find a home. No one would accept her. The men, they were all the same. They used her and tossed her aside when they were done. She went feral. One night, she shifted and was sleeping when two males approached. They questioned her, teased her, and pushed her into the woods. Each male took turns mounting her. She did not resist. The next night, they returned with more men, and they used her.

Zena thought, It's ok. As long as I lay low, I can stay. That was not true. The females came the next night and attacked. She was weak forum lack of food, but she fought ad escaped. Zena walked for hours until she landed near Bertrand.

She hunted small game, rebuilt her strength. Then a few months ago, her wolf started taking over. Zena could control her some, but the night three men grabbed her to rape her again, her beast broke free. They feasted on human flesh that night, and the wolf knew as long as these pathetic people were around, they'd never be hungry again

She did not hunt them, only the males or females that threatened her. She even took it upon herself to protect the children. Then one night, she was caught, and locked up. The wolves blended in with humans well here and one intervened on her behalf. So here she was seeing a brain doctor.

Zena was escorted in, and the first face she recognized was Suni's. She growled, and Rayan went on the defensive.

Zena told her wolf to calm down. She resisted at first, but no before reminding her human just who was in charge.

"Wait, Doc. How do you know Suni?" She asked. Rayan's wolf surfaced. He didn't like this woman. She was dangerous, a lone female, with no conscience. Rayan watched her. Her eyes were dead, her spirit left him cold, and he truly wanted nothing to do with this female.

"How do you know her?" He asked. He already knew she was the female that was exiled from Jackson. He just wanted to see if she would lie. 

"You already know. So I won't waste time. Now your turn?" She queried.

"Suni is my mate." Rayan replied.

Zena laughed, "So you got stuck with raising Alphonso's bastard." 

Rayan growled. "That is my child you are talking about. Insult my family and our session ends." He warned.

Zena rolled her eyes. "I don't want to be here. They will lock me away anyway, so why bother." She laughed, a cold maniacal laugh, "So, tell me doctor, is she any good in bed? I mean Alphonso only screwed her once and it was bad. HE never touched her again." Rayan took deep breaths and tried not to react. But each second near her made him want to end her. 

"Listen, I don't know you. However, you will not disrespect my mate. Keep your vile thoughts private." He ordered. 

Then she moved, wrapping her body around Rayan's. Rayan shoved her away and called for his assistant. She heard the ruckus and rushed in to find Rayan standing glaring at his new patient as she got up off of the floor where she landed. She did not ask any questions, but waited.

"Call Deputy Ford and tell him to come get this woman. I can't help her." He explained.

Zena laughed, "Of course you can't. No one can. Alphonso never pays, you now. He uses people then discards them. He did the same with me, Lavinia, Suni, and Mari. They were no longer needed. Like I said, you ended up with his trash." Zena smiled evilly, "I bet Suni will be pissed when she smells my scent on you." The deputy walked in, as she faced Rayan once more, she exhaled. "Goodbye Dr. MacLean."

Zena walked out. Rayan had to get his anger under control. He felt through his mate bond and grew concerned when the bond seemed troubled. He sent a a wave of love to Suni and decided to finished his day and go to his mate. 

The rest of the day at the office went by uneventfully. Rayan called the precinct and explained that he was not able to counsel Miss Kimber. She needed to be placed some place where society would be safe. 

Soon, the day ended and he drove home. Carefully, blocking his thoughts, he wanted to protect Suni from learning that the sick female was near. As soon as she saw Suni, he forgot all about Zena. He rushed to hug his mate and she sniffed. Before he knew it she shoved him away. "What bitch touched you?" Suni demanded. Rayan was stunned; he'd never seen her act like this. 

Mari moved to her and Zena's scent assaulted her nose, she growled, "Zena, you were alone with that she devil. She attacked Madam Alpha Tasha. She deserved death."

Brecken moved in and Bertrand ordered Rayan to go shower. Serene had Suni and Mari to sit with her. They had never met this young woman, but from these two women's reaction they hoped they never did.

Naru and Dreya watched their mothers and were frightened. Their Mom's never lost their temper, and today Momma shoved Daddy. Dreya went into a corner and sat; Naru joined her. Brecken searched for the two children and saw them cowering. He went to them taking both in his arms and holding them close. They relaxed, and he showered them with his love. "It's Ok. Mommy and Daddy need to talk, that's all.

Caitlyn awoke, Suni and Mari were upset. Rayan, Brecken, what have you done? She demanded. Both men groaned. How could they explain this without making this worse?

Mari approached Rayan as he talked with Brecken. He held Dreya. The little girl held him so tightly that Mari knew she was terrified by her mother's reaction. She paused. The children had gone through so many changes. She wondered if they were really coping as well as they thought.

"Hey, Rayan, can Dreya stay with us tonight.? I'm sure Naru would love to have her stay over." She asked. Naru's face lit up. Dreya smiled. Rayan smiled and hugged his sister thanking her mentally. Then he went to find his mate.

Suni was in their back yard. They were designing garden, and she was sitting on a boulder that would serve as a centerpiece.

Rayan joined her. "I never touched that woman. Suni, I would never do that to you." He stated.

She looked at him. "She said things about me, didn't she? She always said things. You could have done so much better than me in finding a mate. You could have any woman you wanted, not some used..." She took a deep breath. Rayan froze. His heart broke as he felt her disgust and dislike that she directed inward. He waited. She needed to get this out, or she would never heal.

"He was older than my father and I gave e myself to him. No other males ever approached me. I wasn't pretty. I was too stiff. Until that night, he never noticed me either. He was drinking, and I had just finished cleaning. The head cook told me to leave, but for some reason, I wanted to see the alpha. He was in his office and I joined him." She exhaled.

"Alphonso told my father that he seduced me but that was not true. He was talking about Eva, about how beautiful and special she was and I was jealous. No one ever felt that way about me. I asked him if he thought I was beautiful." He ruffled my hair and said of course. 

"I was angry, I needed him to see me as a woman, so I stood. I removed my top, and made him look at me. He was captivated. I could scent his arousal and I knew he scented mine as well. I guided his hands to my breast and he caressed me." She began to pace. 

Rayan waited. He recalled Alphonso telling this same story, but in his version, he took advantage of a young woman. He genuinely regretted his actions. He stood beside Brecken as Alphonso explained his relationship with Mari. Brecken was agitated, because despite the alphas denial, had circumstances been a bit difference, Mari could have been his second mate, but she was so young and deserved a life.

Rayan sat, "Baby, what happened next?" He asked. He really didn't need to hear more, but she needed to tell this story.

"I stripped naked before him. He ordered me out of his office and I refused to go. He sat in his chair s I straddled his lap, rubbing my body against him. Then I nipped his neck, and he was inside me within seconds. It was my first time, and he was gentle.

We came quickly, loudly, and he regretted it immediately. He cried and begged my forgiveness. He helped me dress, and was about to call father I told him not to. I wouldn't say anything. He cried and said Father would hate him now. He would never forgive him. That is when I knew I'd taken my desires too far. 

He escorted me home anyway and spoke with my parents. Father hit him. I've never seen him so angry. Mother grabbed him and reminded him that Alphonso was the alpha. Alphonso never tried to fight him back. A few months later, I realized I was pregnant. The pack wanted to know who I had been with. No males were stepping forward. Some of the mated females began questioning their mates. Then someone accused father. That's when Alphonso spoke up. Everyone was shocked. 

A few months later, we learned that Mari was pregnant also. It was also Alphonso's child. He never blamed me. He never made me feel shame. But I did. Because of my selfishness, I not only hurt my parents but my alpha also. 

Women like Zena never let me forget. Then Dreya was born, and Lavinia..." She exhaled. "She apologized, and truly meant it. "

She faced her mate. "Knowing what really happened, do you want to stay with me?" She asked.




Brother Wolves Ch. 09



Rayan stood and walked to the window. He looked outside. He wished he could go back and change things for her. He could not. 

"Suni, I love you and both of our daughters. You made a mistake, and you have grown from it. You and I have a beautiful little girl who will be a force to reckon with. She will teach her sister how to be tough. Alphonso was just a man, a regular wolf. The only difference is he could have children without being mated. If the dark were did not have that trait, it would be a nonissue.

Our daughter has a powerful ancestry. She is part of a special group of people, and that along makes her unique. Hate you! Girl I could never. My life did not start until the moment I laid eyes on you. As for Zena and the others, baby forgive them. They are living their lives and not giving you a second thought. As long as I live, my heart, body, mind, and soul belong to you, Suni." He held her close. "I love you so very much." 

He lifted her and carried her to bed. "Dreya is spending the night with Mari and Brecken. We'll have to keep Naru soon, but tonight, I'm yours to command."

Suni smiled, "Hold me. Just hold me." She whispered. He held her close as she dozed off. His dragon checked on their daughter. Curious he asked the baby what she wanted to be named. The baby giggled, "Dada, my name will be Dragor. I'm a boy." Rayan laughed out loud, causing Suni to stir. He would have a son. He would have a little boy soon. He could not wait to tell his mate that he was wrong. 

Suni was dreaming. In her dream she was walking and walked into Alphonso and Eva. She rushed to Eva hugging her close. It had been so long since she had seen her. Eva returned her embrace and then she spoke.

Suni, you have no reason to castigate yourself so severely. What done is done? And your daughter is beautiful. I never faulted you and neither does Alphonso. It was a moment that happened; a moment that you both shared. There should be no shame, no condemnation in something so beautiful. Eva smiled and reached out her hand to Alphonso. Suni looked at him. He appeared younger, happier, relieved.

Suni, I took away a gift that was meant for your mate. For that action, I am sorry. But I can never regret the comfort, and the love you gave me in that moment. You have no reason to feel ashamed or fear. I have watched you, and this man loves you and he loves Dreya. Stop beating yourself up, and be happy. You deserve it. Alphonso smiled and Eva hugged her. Then the two faded from sight. Suni found herself back at Jackson, she was home once more. All of sudden, she felt loved. She was surrounded, covered, and protected. She awoke slowly, and reached for Rayan. Reaching out, she touched her mate. He moved and Suni wrapped herself in his warm embrace.





Brother Wolves Ch. 10



Hello everyone,

We are at the end of this strand of the story. This entire story started with Werewolves and Indians. Thanks to Harryhill, I was given the opportunity to expand my imaginative wings and share a fantastic tale of love and overcoming struggles. That story was followed up by Dark Weres, a unique group that helped me to explore how circumstances can lead to amazing accomplishments. After that, A Love Story came into existence. Several short stories were born. One of my favorites, Peter and Kim, was a true challenge. From there we moved on the Brother Wolves, and met a fantastic clan of dragons from Scotland. This series has been an adventure, and I'm not sure if it's done.

Chapter 10

Eva faced Bertrand. The alpha waited. She was upset, and that was not the norm for his quiet mate. "The female Rayan spoke of before is free. She is watching the pack, and I don't like it." Serene explained.

Bertrand nodded. "Are you sure it's her? It could be anyone Serene. Wolves go rogue often when they have no pack." He reminded her.

Serene nodded and began to pace, a clear sign that she was truly agitated. "You might be right, but something is telling me it's her. It's Zena. I will protect my people Bertrand. She will not be allowed to harm anyone here." She stopped and faced her mate. Bertrand pulled her into his safe embrace. He sent calming waves of love to sooth her. She trembled. As he held her, he sent to his head beta. 

Andrew, a situation has come up. I need you to come over now. Bring Chad, David, and Kevin with you. He ordered.

 Yes, Alpha. The beta replied.

Gao knew something was wrong and she started to question him. But one look at the serious look on his face was enough for her to know to wait. He and several betas reported in. Bertrand and Serene waited and met with the betas in his office. Several females joined there leader a well. The women awaited the arrival of the males. As they entered, the males were alerted instantly, but Bertrand ordered them to calm down. Serene and the female betas reported what they discovered. It wasn't much, but the pack trusted Serene's instincts. It was rare that Madam Alpha alerted them. 

The males were ready to patrol. Ordering them to search, but make sure they stay close, the betas filed out. Serene stood beside him, her anger a living thing between them. Bertrand called a friend of his on the police force. He was not surprised to learn that Zena had managed to escape. The police were out in full force, because the woman was psychotic. Bertrand sighed as he faced his mate. Worry etched his brow and Serene stood. Rayan, report to my office as soon as possible in the morning. He sent.

Yes Alpha. He answered.

"Ray, what's wrong?" Suni asked.

Rayan jumped. He thought she slept, but as soon as he became tense, she woke up. 

"Alpha Bertrand wants to see me early in the morning. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about." Then he gathered her close and told her to sleep.

The next morning, Rayan arose early and headed to the alpha home. Suni was sleeping and he was careful not to wake her. He didn't want her worrying about anything. Brecken was so in tune with his brother that Rayan was not surprised when Brecken appeared beside him. 

"What's wrong? Don't lie to me." Brecken demanded.

"Alpha Bertrand wants to see me this morning, and I don't know why. Go home, I'll be fine." Rayan dismissed his brother.

Brecken smiled, "Nope, we go see him together. Let's go." He demanded. Both brothers vanished to the alpha home. The twins arrived, and Bertrand was waiting He needed to learn all he could about Zena Kimber. 

As Rayan and Brecken walked in, Bertrand greeted them and Serene stopped by and hugged each young man. They sensed her worry and knew this was something serious. "Alpha, what has happened?" Brecken asked.

Bertrand took a breath, "Zena escaped police custody. Serene believes she has focused on the pack." 

Rayan and Brecken shared a look, If Zena wanted someone in this pack, they were certain it was their families that she targeted..

"The police will come by and Rayan I need you to talk to them. Brecken, I need you to help provide extra security for the weaker members of the pack."He ordered. Brecken nodded and then Bertrand told them to go to breakfast with their mates. Serene sent Bertrand a mental hug and he relaxed. He looked at the two males before him and was proud. These two men were a testament to the man that raised them, and he knew they would do whatever it took to protect the pack. 

Andrew entered and Bertrand sighed relieved. His pack was equipped to handle any situation. This rogue wolf would be dealt with and quickly and hopefully permanently. Bertrand sighed, he could feel every emotion each member of his pack projected, and he sensed that his newest member were uneasy. He sent both Mari and Suni gentle hug and faced other males, "There is no reason to upset the women. Go, join your families for breakfast. Besides, your parents are here, we mustn't keep them waiting." He added. Rayan and Brecken groaned, Mum would have questions and they'd better be ready to answer. 

The men nodded and joined their mates. 

Brecken arrived home to find that his mates had singlehandedly dressed both toddlers and had them sitting calmly waiting to go to breakfast. "Wait, how?' He stammered. Mari smiled; Brecken chuckled as Naru reached for him, "Never mind."

"What's going on?" She asked.

Brecken started to say it was nothing serious, but he had never lied to her before and he would not start now. "A rogue wolf is in our territory and Alpha Bertrand wants everyone to be extra cautious."

Mari frowned, she had one more question, but the children rushed in and were ready to go. So she kept her thoughts to herself. Allowing her mate to help her out the door, the small unit of four journeyed to the dining hall. Upon entering, Naru and Dreya sought out their grandparents immediately.

Meanwhile, Rayan was worried, but masked his thoughts. Entering their small abode, Rayan found Suni waiting for him, and he smiled. His mate gave him reason finally be happy. 

"Rayan, what did Alpha Bertrand want?" She asked. 

He never lied to her and would not start now. "Zena has escaped and he wants us to take precautions." Suni gasped. Zena was crazy. Rayan pulled her into his arms and whispered, "You have no need to fear. She won't get near you or anyone in our family." Suni relaxed. She wanted to believe him, but he was not there the day she attacked Tasha. She was vicious and cunning. If Zena wanted to, she would find a way inside. Suni felt anger, unlike anything she had ever felt before.  If Zena thought to harm her family, then she had to go through her first. She was not hiding in the shadows any more.

"Suni let me deal with her. You have our daughters to think about. I will protect you." Rayan whispered. At that moment, Suni felt her child's apprehension and she knew her anger frightened her.  I'm sorry love. I didn't mean to scare you. It's alright. Mommy will keep you safe. she sent. The babe relaxed and she and Rayan joined their family for breakfast.

Serene sat with Conor and Caitlyn. They rested well and were excited to tour the compound. Curiously, Conor asked about Bertrand. Serene explained that Bertrand was dealing with a pack issue, and the MacLean's walked with her to the dining hall. Several pack members had arrived, but their sons had not arrived yet. Caitlyn read her friend. Although, Serene masked her thoughts, Caitlyn knew something was wrong.

Caitlyn, we are guest. This is an issue within the pack, we will not interfere.Conor sent. Caitlyn smiled at him and he knew that she was going to find out what was going on. Conor sighed as Andrew and Gao came in and greeted them. 

The day went on with minimum disruptions. At breakfast, Conor announced that he needed all pack members to be extra cautious. He didn't go into details, and the pack members dispersed and went on with their day. He arranged for Serene to show Caitlyn and Conor around while he dealt with some pressing issues. Mari and Gao reported to their work areas. Suni wanted to stay with her parents, but she had responsibilities as well. Brecken left for his job late as he met with the betas to make sure security was increased tenfold. 

Conor and Andrew reported to his office and Rayan joined him. As they waited, three officers stopped by. They asked that Rayan come to the precinct to talk with the state psychologist and help determine a psychological profile on Zena. The state psychologist was there and had just received his report that she was uncooperative from the day before. Rayan doubted his input would help, but he'd do whatever it took to get her off of the streets. The men greeted each other as Rayan entered the precinct, and several betas went out to search for the dangerous female. 

Brecken checked in on his mate and she was working. However, it was near her break time and she wanted to walk. He told her to make sure she was not alone and to stay within the compound. He then alerted Madam Serene.

Caitlyn was with Serene and she could tell something was bothering the Alpha Bitch. It was when she sent extra females to accompany Mari on a brief walk that Caitlyn's concern grew and she now wanted answers. 

Meanwhile, Rayan was at the precinct as the state psychologist disclosed her findings. She had not examined Zena, but based on the reports she'd been given, she determined that Zena was extremely dangerous. The psychologist explained, "Zena has a condition known as paranoid personality disorder. She also suffers from delusion of grandeur. In her mind, everything that has gone wrong in her life is because of her family from the south. She walked away from them, but in her mind they wronged her severely. She will want someone else to suffer as she has. I'm not sure how long she has hidden this disorder. From what I have read, it seems she was severely abused. These injuries may have come from some sort of trauma in her childhood. I suggested that she be transferred the state facility days ago, but we needed another consult. Dr. MacLean, that's why we sent her to you. Sadly, she has regressed, and I fear she could harm someone. We need to find her before someone's hurt. This is paramount." The doctor took a deep breath. "Gentleman, I must tell you this, she won't come willingly, and more than likely she will either kill someone or get herself killed. Just be prepared."

Rayan froze,If Zena wanted to blame someone for whatever she suffered, then he knew she was after his family.  Not wanting to reveal his true nature, Rayan subjugated his beast that wanted to break free and find the bitch. The doctor finished and Rayan excused himself immediately, and contacted Alpha Bertrand. As he returned home, he sent to Brecken and his brother met him. Rayan shared what he learned, and Brecken knew, Mari, Suni, and the children needed to be protected. 

Bertrand met with them as soon as they returned to the compound. Rayan shared his belief with the alpha. Bertrand assigned guards and sent out scouts. Bertrand asked both young men to not alert their parents. This was a pack matter and they needed to deal with it in house. The men agreed. Mom and dad were here. They most definitely did not need them to learn about this.

Caitlyn and Conor joined Serene for lunch. They were happy when the girls and Gao joined them. Although Serene never even hinted, Caitlyn felt that something was wrong. After lunch, Mari wanted to walk again, and Gao and Suni volunteered to join her. Caitlyn insisted that she and Serene come along. Serene called for a full guard. They had no idea where the rogue was hiding and she was not taking chances.

Brecken and the other males were alerted. However, with Conor and Caitlyn visiting, the wolves decided not to alarm their guest. All of the females were ordered to travel in groups; the men would watch them diligently. 

Caitlyn was not fooled. Something upset her sons and she was curious. She asked Serene, but the Alpha bitch told her it was being handled. Soon after taking a short walk, Mari wanted go home and nap. Suni had to help clean, but she was ordered to go rest as well, so the two young women excused themselves. Serene sent a command.Suni and Mari, I want you to stay in one place together. I'll send Madison to sit with the two of you.

Yes, Alpha. Mari replied.

Caitlyn knew she gave them some kind of command. Something was wrong. Her dragon demanded to be released, and she complied. Sending her senses forward, she scanned the lands around them and she found her. A she wolf, hiding near the pack lands. The bitch was huddled inside a cave sleeping, and her aura was deep orange. It was a clear sign that she was not well. 

Caitlyn believed this she wolf was a threat to the pack, her pack. Well, her sons and their mates were part of this pack, so that made this her business. She told Serene she needed to rest as well and returned to her room. Once she was away from her friend, Caitlyn appeared behind the she wolf that hid in the cave. She remained invisible. The woman had no clue someone was so close. 

Caitlyn listened as she talked to herself. 

"I'm insane. I'm crazy. They blamed me. Oh, not the alpha, right. The alpha that did anything and anybody he wanted. He even handpicked bitches for his sons. He got these two dumb bitches pregnant and then made sure they ended up mated to men they don't deserve. I told him the truth about himself. And I get thrown out." The she bitch sniffed. "He threw me out like I was trash, garbage. The last laugh is on me, though. Suni, that whore, everyone thinks she's so fucking sweet, so innocent. I wonder does her mate know that she went after that old fart. She fucked him on his desk in his office. The other bitch, Mari was fucking him for years. They thought no one knew, but I did. Hell, even when Lavinia went after him, she was too damn late. Mari had already branded him." Zena laughed to herself. 

"They cheered when I was banned. They all stood and watched as I was kicked out of my home. Those whores of Alphonso were so happy I'm done," She chuckled, "They are wrong. I deserved a good mate, a decent man, but Alphonso denied me that. He finds a place for his two whores and blesses them." Zena shook. "Abettia, Saint Abettia, even found love in the arms of a fair-were, the very race he hates." 

Tears of frustration ran down her cheeks, as Caitlyn witnessed her wolf come to the forefront. Her eyes glowed golden, devoid of life. "I'm here human. They will pay for mistreating us." She explained. "We will die, but we won't die alone. We'll take one of those bitches with us." The wolf's eyes glowed and stared directly at Caitlyn. Caitlyn knew she did not see her, but Caitlyn seethed with anger. She read the she wolf before her and realized the woman no longer had a soul; she was simply void. 

Caitlyn started to leave when Zena spoke once more, "I'm dying, might die today, but one of those two bitches are going with me." She vowed. Those two heffas are weak. In a few more days, Massa oops, Alpha Bertrand would be informing Alphonso of a death. He will be so hurt but then he'll know everyone pays." 

Then she walked out of the cave and to the city. Caitlyn started to follow her when Conor called her name. He knew she had gone out to search, so she returned to the compound. She needed to speak with Serene. She knew where the strange woman was. She was a threat to her family and if the wolves did not end her she would.

Serene saw her friend's face when she entered her office.

"How much do you know, Caitlyn?" She asked,

"I know she plans to kill one of my daughters. I know she is fucking insane. And I know I will make sure she is no longer a threat when I leave." Caitlyn answered.

"Caitlyn, this is not your territory. You can't harm her." Serene reminded her friend.

"She hates Suni and Mari. I stood in her lair and listened to her plot against them. It took everything in me not to kill her on the spot. When my sons came here, you promised to make sure my sons were safe. Now I ask that you allow me the same courtesy for my daughters and their unborn children." Caitlyn explained.

Conor and Bertrand walked into Serene's office. 

"Love, our children are safe here. Bertrand is a great leader. They can handle this." Conor assured his mate.

"You did not hear her. She knows she will die, and she plans to take one of them with her." Caitlyn's eyes glowed. 

Conor tried to calm his mate when Layton and Aidan called. Mother was upset and that meant someone threatened them. Conor assured his sons that everything was under control. Caitlyn finally agreed to let the wolves deal with Zena. However, she did disclose the location of the cave the woman resided in. Not wasting another minute, Bertrand sent scouts out to secure the cave.

Zena hid out all day. Humans were pathetic. After entertaining herself at the expense of them, she returned to the cave. Something was not right. She scented wolves in the area and her sixth sense was telling her to move on. Never being known as slow, she listened, and her lair was abandoned. The scouts reported that Zena did not return to the cave.

That was all Caitlyn needed to hear, so she called her sons. 

"Boys, there is a threat to your families. I need you to protect my daughters and my grand pups. I cannot interfere and I won't but rely on your dragons and find this woman. Find her before she takes someone away from me." She pleaded.

Brecken and Rayan shared a look. They were wolves, but they were also dragon. Alpha Bertrand, we request permission to find the she wolf. they sent.

Bertrand was in his office. He had talked with Ryelle, and Ryelle was ready to send reinforcements. He realized something. He had secret weapons. He had two dragons. Find her. Bring her here alive. I want to speak with her first.

"Mother, will you stay with Mari tonight. She is so close to giving birth, and I don't like leaving her alone." Brecken requested. Caitlyn agreed and both sons vanished.

Using their dragons, it did not take long for them to locate Zena. They were familiar with her scent because Rayan was drenched in her smell on yesterday. 

The she wolf was wiry and elusive. The pack members became frustrated. The search went into the night, with a second team taking over at dawn.

Mari slept fitfully. Brecken was out and she was worried. A rogue wolf was a dangerous animal. Meanwhile, Zena knew they were on to her. She moved around, but she was determined that either Suni or Mari would pay.

She sat in an open restaurant and watched as members of Bertrand search. Fools, all of them. They think they will stop me. No, someone has to suffer as much as I have.

The wolves and police searched. Zena was extra careful. She was hungry, so she snuck into a local deli and swiped some food. Humans were so gullible, it amazed her that they thought they were superior people.

Then shifting and using traffic as a cover, Zena went back to the compound. She saw Mari. Pregnant, the bitch is pregnant? She thought with glee. That's even better; She can't fight or run.

She waited. She had to attack now. She knew the pack was alert and they would end her.

Sneaking into the compound, Zena found her way to Mari's home. All she needed was a minute. She waited by the door. As soon as the bitch stepped outside, she was ripping her throat out.




Brother Wolves Ch. 10



Mari grew antsy. Caitlyn insisted she take it easy. Mari needed a breather so she decided to step out. She went to her patio, but felt uneasy. Turning around, she went back inside. Suni, Gao, a few of the pack women and Caitlyn were there. Caitlyn sent her dragon that spotted Zena. Facing her daughters she ordered. "Call Serene. This ends now."

She vanished. Zena had no idea that a furious female dragon was stalking her. Caitlyn appeared behind her, startling the she wolf. Zena shifted, but dragons are much stronger and faster than wolves. Caitlyn grabbed the wolf. Her claws extended and she was about to rip her head off. Mari and Suni rushed out, along with the others. Just as Serene arrived. 

Serene had no sway over the much older dragoness, so she relied on their friendship.

"Caitlyn, please, put her down. Jackson needs to address her." Serene pleaded.

Caitlyn shook off her plea. This woman dared to harm her daughters. She tried to break her sons' hearts. From the moment they came to them, she swore that no one would hurt them.

"Mum, please. Listen to Madam Alpha Serene. You can't kill her." Mari pleaded.

Gao spoke, "You are dragon, Caitlyn. The council will come after you. Let the wolves deal with her."

At that moment, Conor and his sons returned. Conor shifted, and curled around his angry mate. Let her go, love. Please He sent.

Caitlyn huffed, and replied, She wants to hurt my sons. She tried to hurt Mari. No one will ever hurt them. Mari and Suni, and the children are their hearts. I will protect them. Caitlyn replied.

As Laird MacLean, I command that you let the bitch go. Conor stated forcibly. He never used a command with his mate. For him to do so now, showed how close to losing control Caitlyn was. The only other time she ever came this close was when Kulkrit went after her children, but she was able to contain her dragon.

Caitlyn dropped the wolf, as she turned to her mate. Both shifted back, their bodies completely clothed. Caitlyn wore a golden shift, while Conor wore black silk bottoms. As dragons, they were able to be modest if they chose.

Angrily Caitlyn lashed out at her mate. He had never done this in all of their years of existence. How dare you command me, Conor. Do you know what she tried to do?

Conor pulled her into his embrace, "I know, Caitlyn. But if you hurt her, then I will have to destroy the dragon council. They will come after you and that I won't allow to happen."

Serene and Bertrand gasped. The others looked on as Zena lay on the floor gasping. Her anger at Suni and Mari could not be contained, "Look at you two stupid bitches. You think these people gives one iota of a damn about you. They don't and when they tire of you, you two will be just like me, homeless." 

"Take her!" Serene ordered two betas to take her. Two female betas grabbed her and she tussled. The women held her securely and took her to the padded room. Serene waited. She had to be certain her friend was OK. "Caitlyn, I promise you. Your children are safe here." She whispered. Caitlyn nodded, accepting her friend's words. Mari and Suni hugged their new mother. She was willing to destroy Zena to protect them. For that reason alone, they loved her even more.

Conor held his mate close, as both Brecken and Rayan checked on their mates. The children were staying with friends for now and were safe. 

Soon everyone except the immediate family left, and both brothers wanted to make sure their mother was alright. They were not surprised when their dragon brothers popped in. They stayed, but had to get back to Ciara and their boys. They told Brecken to call as soon as his pups were ready to be born.

Caitlyn calmed down, and then apologized for scaring everyone. As they all calmed down and some were about to ask questions, someone knocked. At this point, an omega brought Naru and Dreya home. They were happy to see their grandparents, and rushed to leap in their arms. So for now, the ordeal was pushed aside.

As the family was regrouping, the alpha pair, Bertrand and Serene went to talk with Zena. 

Serene's wolf was already agitated. This bitch came into their territory with the express desire to harm members of their pack. That action alone warranted her death. Bertrand held his mates hand and sent her a soothing hug. Facing the angry female, Bertrand had one question, "Why Zena? You could have come here and I would have given you asylum. You never called. I know Alphonso was harsh, but what you did warranted a harsh punishment."

Zena eyed the older wolf, "You don't get it. You've never had to wonder where you belonged. My whole life I have been at the mercy of men. Jackson was no better. Men sleep with whomever, and nothing is said. Yet, I speak the truth and I'm kicked out. You all are no better than them. You think those bitches are so sweet, so innocent. They are just like me. I lost everything because of that alpha. You know the one they fucked. He kicked me out but made sure his two whores found a good home. 

She no longer cried as her wolf rose. "They laughed when Alphonso kicked us out. Those two whores laughed at us, and now..." Grasping her hair tightly she screamed, "Aaaahhhhhhhh!, I hate them. " She faced Suni, "You know the truth. You hide behind your innocent façade. You are a slut, Suni, a no good slut. Mari, you are the same. She faced Serene once more. At Jackson, I was at the mercy of men. All I wanted was a chance to be something more, something better. Then Ryelle chose a human bitch to mate with. I should have killed her, then maybe Alphonso's weak ass would have ended my miserable life. Are you going to tell him I found his precious Mari and Suni? I bet you have already called." She snickered, "What did he say? I bet he regretted letting me live."

Bertrand realized she was unaware that Alphonso died. Her anger at her former Alpha fueled her hatred. "Alpha Ryelle and his mate Madam Tasha are on their way to see you. I will keep you detained until you talk with them. You are not a member of my pack, so as a former member of his, he'll decide your punishment."

"What? Alphonso stepped down. I knew he was weak." She scoffed as she realized the news she had just received. "Wait! The human bitch is Madam Alpha." She faced Serene. There was no way in hell she was letting Tasha decide her fate. It was because of her that she lost her home. She wanted to die and she knew if she attacked his mate, he'd kill her. Growling and shifting, Zena attacked Serene. Serene was ready; shifting quickly she was ready for an attack from the wild female. Bertrand did not interfere; this was Serene's fight. Zena was vicious, but Bertrand suspected that she wanted them to interfere and take her life. 

At one point, Zena covered Serene, but she was overzealous. With a quick flip and kick, Serene reversed their positions. She had no intention of killing the female because she knew this was what Zena wanted. Going for her throat, she ordered her to submit. Zena refused. The fight continued.

Bertrand wanted to get involved, but Andrew stopped him. "She is alpha bitch; let her handle this." He reminded his alpha. Mari, Suni, Caitlyn, and Conor looked on. Mari had enough. Zena was evil and she would interfere before she hurt Madam Alpha Serene. Brecken held her tightly against him. Love, she is the Alpha Bitch. She can handle her.

Suni was ready to jump in, but Rayan held her tightly. Suni growled, pulling away from her mate in her desire to aid her alpha, but Serene didn't need her help. Zena was crafty, wiry. She was a skilled fighter and it seemed that she would be victorious for a moment. Mari and Suni wanted to intervene, but Serene ordered,  Stay back! the girls obeyed. Zena grinned evilly, because it seemed that she would be victorious. However, her joy was short-lived. One more throw, and Serene went for her jugular. Ripping her throat out, Serene howled in victory. Zena's body lay below her trembling as her eyes faded and she breathed her last breath. Then she collapsed. Bertrand rushed to his mate. She was hurt, but healing. He held her. Serene was taken to the healers and he went with his wife. Andrew and the other betas destroyed the she wolf's remains.

The humans had no idea that werewolves existed, and they would keep searching for Zena until they learned something. Brecken and Rayan shared a look. They had to protect the pack. Zena Kimber needed to be put to rest in the human world. Taking Zena's clothes, they placed them in the woods, on a precarious cliff. The clothes were so bloody that it would have been impossible for her to survive. The next day, the police sent out dogs that picked up on her scent; they found her clothes shredded and dangling from the cliff's ledge. Two officers climbed down, where they saw the blood loss and drag marks. In the wilderness, she would not have survived. Knowing that many predators lived in the woods, the medical examiner had no choice but to declare Zena Kimber deceased. Her records were sealed and her body was never recovered. 

Back at the compound, Caitlyn sat with Mari and Suni. Dreya and Naru were asleep and she needed to make sure her daughters were alright. Mari and Suni along with Gao wanted to make sure Serene was OK. The four women sat and comforted each other. Soon each went home and tried to rest.

Serene lay in bed as Bertrand called Ryelle, who was in flight to the compound. He told him what occurred and Ryelle understood. However, he still wanted to see his family members and make sure they were alright. A few hours later their plane landed. Conor went to the airport to bring them to the compound.

Ryelle had not visited Bertrand since he was a pup. The compound was the same now as it was then. Madam Alpha Serene greeted him, and welcomed his mate. Soon they called the family over, and a very pregnant Mari rushed in to see her friends.

Tasha was so happy for her. She knew how much this meant to her. After Naru was born, it was believed that Mari would not have any more children. She was glad that the healers were wrong.

Naru and Dreya came in with their fathers. Ryelle was amazed at how big they had grown. He held his youngest siblings close, and thanked Luna that no one was hurt. 





Brother Wolves Ch. 10



Soon, her little boy entered the world, much to the joy of his father and mother. Just as before, Aidan and Layton were there. Not only did his brothers arrived, standing between them holding their hands was his new sister, Ciara. Rayan and Brecken greeted her with a huge hug, much to the dragon's dismay. 

"Oh, I'm so glad to see you all. Where are the little ones? I must steal some kisses before I go." Ciara rattled on and on. As they talked, Dragor let out a wail. Brecken laughed. Ryan stood tall and proud and said, "Come on, I want you guys to meet my son. Dragor MacLean."

Caitlyn and Conor were actually visiting the Jackson compound. If her new grandson was being born then she was not missing it.

The family entered and Conor could see that Suni was not fond of the name Dragor. He faced his son and said, "Rayan, where did you get the name Dragor?" He asked. Suni was curious. She never thought to ask him where that name came from. Rayan held his son and smiled. "He told me his name. When I heard his heartbeat and thought he was a girl, he told me he was a boy and his name was Dragor."

Suni gasped and she smiled, "Well, Dragor it is."

Ciara squealed. She knew how Suni felt. Each mother wanted to give her child a special name, but his name was just as unique as everyone else. She rushed forward hand hugged her sister, not wanting to tire her out. She was not staying long, because she had to get back to her boys, but she needed to be here with her family for this important moment. Ciara had to admit, Dragor MacLean was one handsome pup. Rayan puffed up with pride as she boasted on his son. His brothers all teased him, and he took their teasing in stride.

Caitlyn liked the Jacksons and she had a chance to get to know Suni's parents. Hattie and Thomas earned her respect, and as a mother she assured them that Suni and Dreya would be cared for as long as she lived. Now, not only did she have to make sure Bertrand's pack was protected, Jackson was theirs to protect as well. After Suni had given birth and everyone had left, Caitlyn wanted to go for a stroll. Tasha and Kas joined her. Hattie and Nancy stayed home just in case Suni needed them.

As they walked, Caitlyn saw shadows over the land. The shadows told a story. She saw pain for the past, people pulling themselves up from the murky darkness, and a people that stood today stronger and wiser than ever before.

She was silent as the shadows revealed themselves. Soon, she found herself alone. Standing before her were two people. She knew who they were; her grandson, Naru, was the exact replica of the man before her.

"I have been waiting to meet you, Caitlyn. I want you to know that I thank you for defending my children against their foes. Despite everything, I love my family, and I need you to know that." The male spoke. The female was silent so Caitlyn faced her.  

The female spoke, "I am Eva. I am not important. But you are Caitlyn. Suni and Mari have had a hard life. I can see how much you love them. Protect them for me. We can no longer interfere, but we are here. Naru and Dreya are Nakenda. They have a calling on their lives. Protect them and let them know we will always watch over them."

Caitlyn had questions, but before she could ask, they vanished. Tasha was calling her name; she was growing concerned when Caitlyn smiled, "I'm fine. Sometimes my dragon sees things and goes to investigate. All is well. Now, let's get back to my grand children. She looked at Tasha and you young lady need to get off of your feet. Let's move." 

They returned to the compound. Ryelle was waiting anxiously. Suni had recently given birth and he knew Tasha would give birth soon. The pack was tickled at their alpha. You would think no other female had ever had a child. Later that night, Tasha woke her mate. He immediately called the healer and was promptly ordered out. Caitlyn laughed and told Conor to help calm the young alpha. She joined the women as the first Alpha son was born. Ryelle held his son. His dark eyes opened. His skin was a beautiful dark hue. His son had a head full of curly black hair. He was by far the most perfect child. The babe had a lusty cry, strong and deep. Ryelle held him close, whispering words of comfort. A child as wonderful as his son deserved a perfect name, "Akeemo Obudey, you are loved," Ryelle whispered. Everyone gasped as Akeemo stopped crying and looked at his father.

Tasha smiled, "That s the perfect name for him. Alpha Alphonso would be honored."

"His name is special. It means the enlightened one. Our son will bring so much light into the lives of our people." Ryelle whispered as he remembered the dark days long past. Conor watched him, and he knew. The pat was the past, but the memories lived on forever. Thomas and Hattie stepped forward. Thomas wanted to speak, but he could not find the words. Ryelle not only honored his father with the naming of his son, he honored their entire race. 

"Thomas, let's give them time alone. We can check on them in the morning." Hattie suggested. She felt every emotion Thomas experienced through their bond. She knew how the naming of this child affected him.

Soon, everyone left, leaving the new parents alone with their son. Jebutu, Damian, and the other males were boasting of the things the young alpha son had to learn. Then everyone was silent. Caitlyn and Conor stood and bid everyone good night, as did Ms. Nancy. Then the groups dispersed as news of the new alpha son, Akeemo, spread throughout the compound.

The week ended, and although Caitlyn wanted to stay she had to return home, but not before making Hattie and Thomas promise to visit Scotland. As she and Conor boarded their flight, they looked back at their extended family. Yes, the dark Weres were now family.





Brother Wolves Ch. 10



"We're one. We're the dark were, descendants of the Nakenda people my love. We are a great and proud people. Your father legacy lives on with us." Ryelle held her close. They were not alone for long as Jebutu and his family, and Damian and his family joined them. Abettia called, and on that warm spring morning, the members of the Jackson pack let their father go. 

Watching from across the way stood Thomas and Hattie. Thomas smiled. Akeemo always thought himself a failure, but he was wrong. He survived impossible odds and managed to raise his children as he instilled in them and iron clad belief that you never forget where you come from. They were Nakenda, they were original descendants of the first Dark Were.
