Thanks to my editor for all her help without her this chapter would have been in a right state. I hope you enjoy reading this chapter and hopefully you will forgive me for keeping you waiting. Thanks from Bearmad. Kay awoke nice and warm wrapped in Brad's arms. She laid there with her eyes closed enjoying the feeling. It's so nice to have Brad's arms around me. I missed this so much when I was burning up. I didn't know how much I still needed the physical contact with someone. I thought that Norman and Helen and killed that desire in me, she thought. When she opened her eyes, Brad was staring at her. "You've been watching me sleep?" she asked. "I like watching you sleep, beautiful," he replied. "Happy Birthday honey, I've a surprise for you." "What is it?" Kay asked with growing anticipation. "Close your eyes and no peeking," Brad said with a smile. Giggling, Kay closed her eyes and felt the bed move as Brad got up to get her present. "Sit up honey, but keep your eyes closed," he said. Kay sat up wondering what her surprise was. I wonder if it's a ring, she thought wishfully. I know that weres don't get married, but I've wanted to get married all of my life. Suddenly, she felt a large, heavy box placed on the bed beside her. She knew it was large and heavy, by the way the bed dipped. Oh well, I know this isn't a ring. It's way too heavy to be a ring, she thought. It doesn't matter what it is. I know I'll love it, because Brad gave it to me. I wonder when he had time to shop for a gift for me with all of the craziness that has been happening around here lately. "Open your eyes honey," Brad said. Kay opened her eyes. Sitting on the bed was a very large box with an envelope attached to its side. "Can I open it now?" she asked. "Of course silly," replied Brad. I really hope that she likes what I got for her, he thought anxiously. I wanted to get her something unique that would remind her of us. I've never been one for sentimental, mushy stuff, so I'm not sure if this is a present she will like or not. Oh well, I guess I'll find out in a minute. Kay pulled the envelope off the box and opened it. There was a card inside. On the front of the card was a picture of a large teddy on a garden chair relaxing, surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Inside, Brad had drawn a heart with a key and wrote 'Happy Birthday Kay. Here's the key to my heart.' Tears began to well up in Kay's eyes as she turned to Brad. She hugged him, kissed him, and told him, "I'll always treasure the key to your heart, and I promise to never do anything willingly to harm your heart," she said. She took a shaky breath and continued, "You've had the key to my heart since the first time you held me in your arms." He held her tenderly for a few moments. He took a deep breath and sighed thinking. My beast is only completely at peace surrounded by her scent. Before I met Kay, it seemed that my beast was constantly on edge, ready to spring at any moment. "Open your present, darling," he said. The box was wrapped in gold paper and had a large white ribbon on it. Kay pulled the ribbon carefully and then slid her finger under the paper to remove it. The paper concealed a white box with a lid that was about 6 feet wide and 2 feet tall. It was a larger version of a hat box she remembered seeing in Helen's closet during a time when Helen was being nice to her. She removed the lid and looked inside. At first, all she could see inside the box was packing peanuts. She gave Brad a puzzled look and he said smiling, "You are going to have to remove some of the peanuts to get to your gift. I promise you that I did not buy you a box full of packing peanuts." As she removed some of the peanuts, she saw an object covered in white paper. Removing the object from the box with Brad's help, she thought, I wonder what he got me. I'm so excited. She started removing the paper from the object and , "Oh my God." "Do you like it? I had it specially made for you," Brad asked hesitantly. The white paper revealed a statue of a white tiger without stripes and a big black wolf lying side by side. The white tiger had its head on the back of the black wolf. The statue was 1 ½ feet tall and 5 ½ feet wide. The detail work was beautiful. Kay could not stop touching it. Kay loved it and knew that the statue represented her and Brad. After holding and stroking the statue for a while, Kay placed it on the dressing table and climbed into the bed with Brad to give him a big hug and kiss. "I love my present. Thank you so much," she said, her eyes shining with tears. "I wanted to get you something special. I thought a lot about what to get you, and I decided that I want to get you something to remind you of our love every time you saw it. I couldn't find a black wolf cuddly toy, and though I found plenty of tigers, they all had stripes. I was getting frustrated, so I asked a friend to do this statue for me. Do you really like it?" Brad asked a little hesitantly. "I absolutely adore it. Thank you so much," Kay said snuggling up to Brad. Now that Brad was no longer worried about her liking his gift, he thought She's so beautiful. I can't believe how happy I am and that she is truly mine. As he thought about his love for her, he began caressing her face, neck and shoulder. Gradually, he placed soft kisses on her ear, then her eyes, her cheeks and finally her lips. Slowly, Brad lowered her onto her back in bed and was just about beginning some serious making out when there was a loud noise outside. Kay and Brad sprang apart, jumped out of bed and pulled on dressing gowns. Brad said, "What on earth was that? It sounded like a bomb exploded." They went to the window to determine what the sound was. Brad didn't see anything out of the ordinary, so he turned to Kay with a questioning look only to have her shrug her shoulders, as if to say I don't know. Brad sat on the side of the bed, placed his arm around Kay, pulled her in his lap, buried his nose in the side of her neck and thought, I have a feeling I am going to have to deal with some problems, so I better get a good whiff of her scent to keep my beast calm. After a few minutes, Bradley thought, Jason, what's going on? It sounded as though a bomb went off. Jason answered warily, You'd better come outside. Why? What's up? What's happened? asked Bradley. The twins are fighting, Jason said excited. Oh God! You better wake John and Henry, and I'll be there in a minute, thought Bradley. Was that the bang we heard? Yes, but you've got to come down here and see what's going on to believe it, Jason answered more calmly. Bradley thought Ok, be down in a minute.Brad sat up and said, "Sorry honey, we'll have to finish this later. We better get dressed and get downstairs." "What's happening?" Kay asked. "Well, it seems the twins are fighting and making enough noises to wake the dead," Brad answered. Kay ran into the closet to find something to put on, "Oh God, Paul told me one blew up the other's shed not long ago. We better get down there before they destroy the compound." They dressed quickly and went downstairs. When they got to the kitchen, Charlie was laughing his head off. "What on earth's the matter with you?" Bradley asked. "You've got to go outside. You won't believe it unless you see what those two are doing to each other," Charlie said laughing with tears running down his face. Kay and Bradley went outside. They could hear a lot of cheering, screaming and shouting coming from the compound. There were people standing everywhere watching the twins fighting. When the pack noticed that their Alpha was present, they stepped back and allowed Kay and Bradley to proceeded to the front of the crowd. Once they were at the front, Kay could not believe what she saw. The twins looked a mess. Jessica was covered in something that looked like porridge and Charlotte was covered in some kind of sticky stuff that smelt like syrup. When Kay saw the twins, her mouth fell open, and she couldn't get it to close for the life of her. Jason spotted them and came over to stand next to them. "What got this started?" Bradley asked. "Well, from what I can make out. Charlotte tried to make some porridge this morning very early before Charlie got up and put salt in Jessica's porridge instead of sugar," Jason said with a grin. "Yeah well, you can have it either way, so they tell me," Bradley said puzzled at why this would make two grown women act like children. Jason said, "Yes, but Charlotte was getting her own back for Jessica blowing up her shed. You see, she put in more salt than was necessary, and it made Jessica sick. Jessica was so angry that she threw the rest of porridge in the bowl at Charlotte and walked outside. Then Charlotte got angry because Jessica threw the bowl of porridge at her and made the whole pot of porridge appear out of thin air, which she promptly poured on Jessica. Not to be out done, Jessica made bath of syrup appear and poured it all over Charlotte. Now they're fighting, and it looks like girl's mud wrestling. "You were worried about the pack feeling the tension. Well, believe me this has done wonders for stress relief," Jason said with a chuckle. "What're you going to do with them?" "Where do you keep the hose?" asked Kay. "You can't hose them," Bradley said with astonishment. "Why not, it will stop them arguing and fighting, I bet yah," Kay stated with determination. At that moment, John and Henry joined them. "Oh God, not again," said Henry, "What stirred them up this time?" So, Jason explained to John and Henry how it started. The twins were getting really rough, now. Jessica threw Charlotte over her shoulders and she landed with a loud thud on her bum. "You will pay for that!" Charlotte shouted. Charlotte got up and charged head first into Jessica's stomach sending Jessica flying. Once Jessica was down, Charlotte sat on her and pulled her arms behind her back. Although she was in pain, Jessica did not concede, but started kicking her legs and bucking trying to get loose. Eventually Jessica managed to get Charlotte off her back. They were both covered in bruises, cuts and scrapes, not mention porridge and syrup. They were truly a site and things did not appear to be getting any better. Kay had seen enough, so she went into the kitchen and asked, "Charlie, where do you keep the hose?" "In the cupboard by the back door," he answered as he turned to look at her. "What do you want with the hose?" "You'll see. I've had enough of them fighting. It reminds me too much of when I was little," replied Kay. With that, Kay went to the cupboard, fetched the hose and brought it back into the kitchen to connect it to the kitchen tap. Charlie asked again, "What are you going to do with that?" "Attach the hose, turn the water on and come outside and I'll show you," Kay answered. Charlie attached the hose, turned the water on full throttle and went outside. Kay returned to where the twins were fighting and pointed the hose at the fighting women. By this time both their clothes were torn and both were bleeding. She sprayed them both thoroughly and shouted, "STOP IT NOW!!!" Everyone stopped screaming and cheering and turned to Kay. They could not believe what she had done. The twins, stopped fighting and stood there, looking like drowned rats, starring at her. "Why did you do that?" they both asked. "It's my birthday today and I won't have any fighting," Kay stated through gritted teeth. The twins' mouths dropped open, but neither of them said a word. Kay dropped the hose, went back inside, turned the water off and sat at the kitchen table with arms folded in a huff. Later, Charlie, Bradley, John, Jason and Henry came in laughing their heads off and sat down. After a few minutes, Charlie went to start coffee and get breakfast ready. "What are they doing now?" Kay asked while still pouting. She thought I really hope that Brad and my dad aren't mad at me. "Well, Eric and Travis each have a girl wrapped up in blanket and are taking them to Nathan to get their wounds cleaned up," said Bradley as he tried not to laugh. "I think they were kind of shocked to get sprayed with the hose," John said with a grin. "It was all I could think of at the time," replied Kay with a sheepish smile. "Remind me not to get you angry then Kay," Henry said. "Whys that Uncle Henry?" asked Kay. "Well, I'm not keen on getting sprayed with a hose," Henry answered, while laughing making everyone else start to laugh. Charlie placed a cup of coffee in front of Kay along with a card and a present. "Thank you, Charlie," Kay said. She opened the card, first. On it was a teddy with a heart shaped cushion on his belly that read 'Happy Birthday'. The present was a teddy in a chef's uniform. Kay stood up, gave Charlie a kiss on his cheek and thanked him again. Charlie blushed a bit and said, "You're welcome, Kay." "Where's Mom and Paul," she asked. "They should be back soon they went out early this morning to collect something," her dad said mysteriously. "Oh," Kay said a little disappointed. She thought Ihope they'll be back soon. Paul and I always spend our birthdays together. I was also really hoping to spend some time with her mom. After all these years with Helen as a mom, it'll be nice to have a real mother in my life. "What do you want for breakfast, Kay?" asked Charlie. "Can I have a bacon sandwich? I feel like a change from the cereal and toast that I normally have," Kay answered. "Yeah sure, you can have anything you want," replied Charlie. Kay replied laughing, "Awe, is that a promise?" Charlie chuckled shaking his head, "Does everyone else want a full breakfast, as usual?" "Yes," they said simultaneously and Kay laughed again. They all just began tucking into their breakfasts when Jessica and Charlotte appeared. The twins were very subdued as they sat at the table and said, "We're so sorry for fighting everyone and we really feel bad for fighting on your birthday, Kay." Everyone accepted their apology and continued eating. The twins seemed none the worse for their fight, apart from a few cuts and bruises. Both requested a bacon sandwich and returned to their rooms once they were finished. When Kay finished eating, she began wondering around the mansion. She felt strange almost like something was missing, but she couldn't determine what it could be. It's my birthday today, she thought, and I'm supposed to receive full access to these powers that everyone says that I have. But, I don't even know what that means. She was not paying any attention to where she was going as she walked and thought. When she noticed her surroundings, she was in a large sitting room. Well, she presumed it was a sitting room, but no one was in it for her to ask. The sitting room contained six large black leather sofas, two marble coffee tables and nice, thick, red pile carpet. A 52" Flat screen HDTV was on the wall opposite the sofas with some cushions scattered on the floor in front on it. There were two crystal and brass chandeliers providing muted lighting. The wall to the right of the sofas contained a huge marble and stone fireplace with a built-in bookcase on each side filled with books. The room was very big but was decorated so elegantly that it had a calming effect on her, so she curled up on one of the sofas, turned on the TV and wrapped herself in the beautiful wolf Afghan on the back of the sofa. When Bradley finished his breakfast, he popped into his office to make a few calls and sort out some business. He was about to call the interrogation suite when John knocked on the door and peeked in. "Hi, John, come on in. Just give me a moment to make this call, ok," Bradley said with a smile. John entered the room, took a seat and waited for Bradley to finish his call. Bradley said, "How are you doing, Riley? Have you had any success in getting information from Johnson?" "No, he won't answer any of our questions no matter what we do," answered Riley with a frustrated sigh. "All we get from him is he will be killed if he opens his mouth." "Hang on a bit," Bradley said placing his hand over the phone. "John, do you think you can do a mind sweep on Johnson and get the information we need? My men aren't having any luck getting him to answer our questions." "Yeah, I'd be happy to do that," replied John. "Riley, I have someone here that can help get the information from Johnson. I'll send him to you this afternoon about 2 pm, ok?" Bradley said after removing his hand from over the phone. "Okay, but who is it?" asked Riley. "His name's John and he's my mate's father," answered Bradley. "Your mate, you finally found a girl to take you on, have you?" questioned Riley laughing. "Yeah, her name's Kay. You've seen her before, when we rescued her brother," Bradley replied. "Oh yeah, she's cute," Riley said. "Hands off, she's mine," Bradley said only half joking. "Now don't get your knickers in a twist. You know that I'm gay. Women don't turn me on, but she IS cute," Riley stated emphatically. "Yeah, sorry about that. Well anyway, John will be over with Travis at 2 pm today," Bradley said. "Keep me posted on any new developments." "I understand, Bradley," Riley said and ended the call. "Well," Bradley said, "that's set. Travis will take you to the interrogation suite at 2 pm to do the mine sweep. Do you think it will work?" "Definitely, there aren't many people who can stand a mind sweep, at least not from someone with my mind reading abilities," answered John. "Anyway, the reason I'm here is to ask is there somewhere we can use to teach Kay how to use her powers?" John got to the point of his visit. "Well, there are a few rooms in the basement that you might be able to use," Bradley said after a little thought. "We have a gym there with two separate halls. One is used for ball games like basketball and squash, but the other is used for training purposes. We have to train the youngsters to fight, so the floor is covered in glued down rubber protection mats." "I think the training room is just what we'll need. Do you think we can use that tomorrow?" John said. "Yes, I'll have Jason post a notice that the training room isn't available tomorrow morning. That should give you some time without spectators," Bradley stated. "Are you only going to need the gym for one day?" Bradley asked. "No I think we better plan for two days," answered John. "We'd better go find Kay. She looked a little down the last time I saw her." Sarah discovered Kay in the sitting room and joined her stating, "I see you found the great common room. There is another common room on the first floor which the lower ranks use. This one was mainly used for greeting guests and so on." Kay asked, "So is it okay that I'm in here, or is there another sitting room that I am supposed to use?" Sarah said, "Oh sure, its fine. You can use this room anytime that you want, especially if you feel like company." Brad used their bond to locate Kay. He entered the room, joined Kay on the sofa, placed his arm round her and asked, "What's wrong, honey?" "Nothing really I'm fine," answered Kay. Brad looked at her really hard and said, "You look sad and I can feel your emotions through our bond. Tell me, what's the matter?" "Well, if you must know, I'm a little nervous about these powers I received today, practising them scares me to death. I know I can move things if I want to. But according to Paul when my parents finish with me, I'll be able to do things just by asserting my will on things. It's hard to envision that," Kay confessed. A White Tiger and The Wolf Ch. 09 "Oh honey, it'll be alright. Your parents will show you how to use them correctly. Your dad has asked me for a place to use to teach you to use your powers. I arranged for you guys to have the training room for the next two mornings. It has padded floors, so you will be ok," Brad said. Sarah slipped out the room to start moving the presents that had arrived most of yesterday and today into the library for the surprise party for Kay later. It amazed her that Kay had only been at the compound a week and already most of the pack accepted her. There were just a small group led by Eric Shuttleworth that still had a problem with her. Eric was mostly all talk and no action as the saying goes, so Sarah did not think his group was anything to worry about. While Sarah was in the library, Nigel and Linda brought in their present to add to the growing pile for Kay. "Sarah, there are a few of Kay's colleagues coming over from our hotel about 4 pm for the party, and they want to know if they can stay a few nights?" asked Linda. "Oh lord, I will have to do some juggling of rooms, but it should be fine," answered Sarah. "Let me confirm it with Bradley. Bradley some of Kay's colleagues from the hotel are coming over at 4 pm. They want to know if it's okay if they stay a few nights, thought Sarah. Bradley thought Can you find room for them? Sarah thought, I will have to juggle some rooms, but I don't think it'll be a problem. Bradley thought, In that case, its fine with me. Sarah told Linda, "Bradley said its okay, so tell them to come prepared." "Thanks, can I use the phone in the office to let them know?" Linda asked. "Sure, just let me check it's not being used," answered Sarah. In the office, Linda phoned the kitchen at the hotel, "Hi Richard, I need you to do something for me. I forgot to hire extra staff to cover us while we attend Kay's party. Can you hire a few extras for the next three days? The firm we normally use should be fine." "Yeah sure, I was wondering what you were going to do with most of the kitchen staff going to Kay's birthday party," answered Richard. "Has she found out about the party, yet?" He asked. "No and we're trying to keep it like that, hence the name 'surprise party'," Linda said with a grin. "So get everyone over here by 4 pm to give us enough time to get them in the room where the party will be held with the other guests and get the gifts organized." "Ok boss, see you then," Richard replied. Linda hung up and went to help with the party. By that time she got to the great common room Connie, Paul, Henry, John, Jessica, Charlotte, Bradley, Kay, Charlie, Isobel and Nigel were there, enjoying a coal fire in the open fireplace. Connie and John hugged Kay. "Happy Birthday, honey," her mom said and handed her a card and present The card had a large teddy on it with Happy 21stBirthday across the top in big bold letters. The present was a long, flat box wrapped in gold foil paper. Kay opened the present to reveal a gold, heart-shaped locket on a beautiful, gold, rope chain, which was heavy. The locket contained pictures of her mom and dad. Kay was so overcome with emotion that tears rolled down her cheeks. She hugged her mom and her dad tightly, burying her face into her mother's bosom. Kay was so overwhelmed that she was unable to talk for several minutes. She thought now, this is the way that family should act, and this is how a birthday should be. I am so glad that I have loving parents now. I wish they had always been there, but I am going to let go of the past, so that I can enjoy the present. With that last thought, Kay was finally able to let go of the past and open her heart to allow her to truly experience the love of her parents and friends and to give to them love in return. Kay looked at Brad and thought, It seems that so much has happened to me since he walked into my life. Even through the kidnapping and rescue of Paul to the forcing of my powers, he was there every step of the way. I was scared, but I knew deep inside I was not alone. She placed the gift from her parents on the coffee table, sat in Brad's lap, wrapped her arms tightly around his neck and kissed him. Brad asked, "What was that for?" Kay replied, "Do I have to have a reason?" Brad said with a smile, "No, you can do that any time, honey." Isobel then presented Kay her card and present. Before releasing them, she said, "I know that this is your birthday Kay, but while I've got your attention, can I check your skin temperature to make sure you are ok?" "Sure, what do you want me to do?" Kay asked placing the card and present on the coffee table. "Just let me put a thermometer strip on your forehead," replied Isobel. She put the strip on Kay's forehead, waited a minute and said, "Your temperature is quite normal now, Kay. The wards are working and my ointment did the trick. How do you feel?" Kay replied, "I'm feeling great!" Isobel removed the thermometer strip and said, "I'm so glad you're feeling better." Kay opened Isobel's present. The package contained two things. One was a tea towel with pictures of large wild cats on it. The centre of the towel contained a picture of a white tiger that was simply beautiful. The other was a key with 21 on it that played 'Happy Birthday'. "Thank you, Isobel," Kay said hugging her. Paul was next to give her his present and card. The card had a picture of a cottage on it with a girl standing in the garden. "This looks like my cottage," Kay exclaimed. "I know that's why I chose it," replied Paul. The present was a set of Sheffield steel knives in a special case, like a brief case. "How did you know I needed new knives?" she asked. "I didn't I just saw them and thought of you," answered Paul. "Thanks, I love them and I love you so much," Kay said hugging him tightly and kissing him on the cheek. "Well now you've had a few of your presents, what do you want to do today?" asked Brad. "I'd like to go for a run on the grounds," said Kay. "Really!" Brad exclaimed with surprise. "Want to make it interesting?" asked Jason. "What do you mean?" asked Kay. "Well we could make it a contest to see who can run to the waterfall and back in the quickest time," Jason said. "What will we get if we win?" asked Paul. Sarah heard the conversation as she entered the great common room. She thought to Bradley. This would be a good opportunity to get Kay out of the mansion, so we can prepare things for the surprise party this afternoon. Bradley thought How do you mean? Well if you can get her to stay outside for a while, we can get everything ready Sarah thought. MMMM alright, I will try and keep her outside for a bit, Bradley thought. "Jason, I think a competition is a good idea. Go to the common room upstairs and ask anyone there if they want a run round the grounds. Make sure they know it's a real competition with a prize," Bradley said. Bradley turned to Paul and said, "I'll have Sarah to select a prize." John, Henry, Paul, Nigel, Jessica, Charlotte said they would participant. Connie, Linda and Isobel said they would stay behind and chat, but in reality they were going to help Sarah get the mansion ready for the party. Connie said, "Before you all go charging off, could I just have a word with you Bradley, in private?" "Ok Connie. I'll meet you guys in the lot outside," Bradley told the others. Bradley took Connie into his office. "What can I do for you?" he asked. "I want you to put this packet in your safe until tomorrow," said Connie. "What is it?" asked Bradley. "It's something for Kay. By rights, she should have it today, but I think she has enough to think about and adjust to, at the moment," Connie answered. "John and I feel it would be better if she has it tomorrow after she has had a chance to get used to her powers. The contents might cause her some stress and I don't want her worrying about it right now. I want her to enjoy her birthday. I have a feeling that she did not have much of a birthday before." "Alright, but when you give it to her, can I be present or is too personal?" Bradley said. "No, I would like you to be there. I think she will need your support," Connie said. "I only hope Paul doesn't say something to her about the contents of that envelope before tomorrow. He thinks she should have the contents of that envelope today. John and I already had one argument with him about it." "I'm sure he will respect your wishes and not say anything," replied Bradley. "I hope so. Anyway, that's what I wanted," said Connie. "In that case, Will you help with Sarah and the others to get the party setup while I meet the runners in the lot? Also, can you do me a favour, ask Sarah to select a prize for the winner?" said Bradley. Outside on the grounds Bradley went outside and found quite a few of pack members wanted to participant in the run around the grounds. "What are the rules?" shouted Samantha. "Well, you can run in any form. It don't matter which," answered Bradley. "Will it be fair to Kay and the others if they run in their wolf form?" asked Jason. Bradley thought about what Jason said for a minute. He went and talked to Charlotte and Jessica. After receiving a nod from them, Bradley gave them a clipboard, a whistle and a stopwatch and said, "I think so. Charlotte and Jessica aren't actually running but have agreed to be the timekeepers. Kay can run very fast, so she should be able to keep up with us in our wolf form. John, Henry, Nigel and Paul can shift to their tiger form, so they'll be ok." "Kay will be ok? If we shift, how can Kay possibly keep up with the rest of us?" asked Travis. Kay replied with a smile, "You'll see when we start running just how fast I can go." Travis gave her a thoughtful look and said, "Oh alright if you're sure. I just wanted this to be a fair contest." "Actually, it will be good to see just how fast Kay can run," stated John. "It sure would. We'll run to the waterfall and back to the mansion. The winner gets a prize that Sarah is sorting out," said Bradley. "Oh Andrew, get on your radio and make sure the security team know we're running on the grounds, in case they think something's up," said he. Andrew confers with the security team and tells them, "Alpha wants you to know there's going to be a race through the grounds." "What's the route?" replied Stephen, the beta in charge of security. "From the mansion to the waterfall and back," answered Andrew. "Ok. I'll post guards around the route and have the cameras focused in that area," said Stephen. "All set Alpha," Andrew said. "The security team know we're running and what route we are taking. Guards will be posted throughout the course and the cameras trained on us as we run for extra protection." "Great," replied Bradley. "Right everyone line up in your chosen form." Some changed into animal form, some to hybrid form and some just stayed in human form. While Bradley was explaining the rules and making sure that security knew about the race, Jessica painted a long white line in front of the mansion with some paint that she made appear. Charlotte said, "This is the starting and finishing line." Jessica said, "Runners to your mark, get set, go!" Everybody took off at a fast pace. Kay started off slow like she usually did when running at home and gradually sped up. She was soon passing some of the wolves. They were all shocked at how fast she was running. Kay caught up with her dad and Uncle Henry and passed them easily in their tiger forms. My god, thought John Henry, look how fast she's going. I know, replied Henry. She's much faster than any normal tiger. When she told us yesterday that she could run fast, I naturally thought it was about the same speed as we run, which is 35 to 40 miles per hour. But she's running much faster than that. We can only run at top speed for short periods of time, but she is running much faster than we do and for a longer distance. John spoke to Paul, Did she run fast when she was a child? Yeah, replied Paul. She was always very good at running and jumping really high. She was on the school track team when she was younger and won lots of prizes and medals. Kay soon got to the waterfall and began running back to the mansion. By then, there was only one wolf she could see that was nearly as fast as she was. The wolf was male and completely brown except for a white tip on his tale and a white smudge on his nose. He was running flat out to catch her, which made Kay speed up. wasn't even out of breath. This was like the jogging that she did at home. She didn't want to go flat out because she didn't think it was fair to the others. After a couple minutes of running, Kay could see the mansion. Charlotte was waving a red checked table cloth as if it was a flag. She crossed the finish line first, closely followed by the brown wolf. When she stopped, she sat on a bench that was placed on the edge of the forest. There were a lot of benches placed at the edge of the forest facing the back of the mansion. Her heart rate was only slightly raised, so she sat down to watch the rest of the race while allowing heart rate to return to normal. The brown wolf was really out of breath. Charlie, who had been watching from the sidelines, went into the kitchen to bring him some water in a bowl. The wolf gulped down the water, changed back to human form, retrieved his sweatpants and put them on. Once he was dressed, he came over and sat beside Kay. "Wow," said Jessica, "you really can run fast Kay. "You did the run in 10 minutes, which means you were running at about 40 miles an hour." "Thanks," said Kay. Kay thought I am not going to tell them that I was not running as fast as I can. I don't want to appear as though I am bragging. "You were not joking you are fast," said the brown wolf, who was sitting next to her. "I thought I was the fastest in our pack, but you've proved me wrong." "What's your name?" asked Kay. "My name's Zippy. Congratulation on a good run," he replied. "That's an unusual name," said Kay. "I know," Zippy said with a smile, "I have three brothers, all with funny names." "Oh? What are their names?" asked Kay. "Bungle, George and Jeffrey. Haven't you guessed where our mom got our names, yet?" Zippy asked laughing. "Oh my goodness, you're all named after characters on the children's program 'Rainbow'. Aren't you?" Kay stated with wonder. "Yeah, that's right. Everyone takes the mickey out on me and my brother Bungle," Zippy said grinning. "Oh poor you, I bet they do," Kay sympathized. "Do your parents live here, then?" "Yes, I think you've met my father, Travis. My mom's name is Samantha," Zippy stated proudly. "Oh yes, I've met them and I like them very much. Travis helped rescue my brother, Paul," Kay said. "Hang on, here my family come with the others," Zippy said. "Do you want to meet my brothers?" he asked. "Yes, that would be nice, thanks," Kay replied. Just then, Bradley crossed the finished and came over out of breath. "I beat all of you," Kay crowed. "I even beat Zippy," she said laughing. Poor kids. Fancy their parents naming their boys after characters on the Rainbow program, she thought. "Gosh Kay, you can really run fast," said Uncle Henry. Everyone was now sitting on benches, drinking water or lying on the grass resting. Bradley said, "Come on you lazy lot. We're not finished running yet. We need to get in shape, so we're going to do some relay races. Since there are thirty of us running, get yourselves into teams of six and give your group a name." Kay's team, the 'Teddy Gang', was Bradley, Henry, John, Paul, Jason and herself. The 'Rainbow' team consisted of George, Zippy, Jeffery, Bungle, Travis and Samantha. The 'Raven' team consisted of Shane, Marcus, Davey, Jane, Melanie and Sonya. The 'Black Gang' team were Jillian, Jimmy, Billy, Benny, Alex, and Alan. The 'Red' team were Jackie, Jack, Michael, Lindsey, Rose and Mary. Last, but not least, were the 'Wolf Pack' consisted of Ryan, Peter, Johnny, Diana, Francesca, and Lizzy. Bradley said, "Andrew, let security know that we are going to the track that the children use beside the medical centre." The track was large. It had six lanes, each one a different colour, and contained a finishing line. Bradley had each group select a colour and line up. They were each given a colour baton that corresponded with the lane they selected. Some of the other pack members, who had not wanted to compete in the earlier run, were now standing around the track ready to cheer for the different teams. The teams discussed what order they would run. Kay decided to go last in her team as it would be a sprinting round. Jessica put all the names of the teams and who was in them on her clipboard. Charlotte had the checked flag, they had made out of a red checked table cloth. She shouted, "RUNNERS ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET, GO." The first group set off at a fast pace consisting of Bradley, George, Shane, Jillian, Jackie and Ryan. The people standing on the sidelines started cheering. The next group contained Henry, Zippy, Marcus, Jimmy, Jack and Peter. At the end of the second round 'Rainbow' team was in the lead. The next group was John, Jeffery, Davey, Billy, Michael, and Johnny. At the end of this round, team 'Teddy Gang' was leading. Those watching on the sidelines were really cheering now. Even Connie, Sarah, Linda and Isobel had come out to watch the relay race. The next group was Paul, Bungle, Jane, Alex, Lindsey and Diana. At the end of this round, the 'Wolf Pack' team was in the lead. The tension was mounting as the next group with Jason, Samantha, Sonya, Benny, Rose and Francesca began running. The lead changed to the 'Raven' team. The final round consisted of Kay, Travis, Melanie, Alan, Mary and Lizzy. On the change over Jason, dropped the baton, the 'Teddy Gang' wasted precious seconds picking it up. When Kay started running, the others had already started and were half way round the track. She thought To win this race, I'm going to have to actually run. If they thought that I ran fast earlier, wait until they see this. Kay the last lap at full speed, easily overtaking the others. In the end, the 'Teddy Gang' team won and everyone cheered loudly. They had an enjoyable time outside. Seeing that the races were over Sarah transmitted to Bradley We need more time to finish the preparations for the surprise party. Bradley thought Really, when I saw you guys out here cheering for us, I thought that you were finished. Well, Sarah answered sheepishly, You guys sounded as though you were having so much fun, we couldn't resist joining you for a little while. I'm sorry I let you down, my Alpha. Bradley replied Don't worry about it. You're right we were having a lot of fun. How much more time do you need? Do you think you can finish in two hours? Sarah thought for a minute, then replied Two hours should be more than enough time to finish. Bradley thought with a sly grin In that case, I guess I'll have to sacrifice myself to save the day and take Kay on a picnic by the waterfall. She seems to really like that place. Sarah answered smiling I'm sure that she'll appreciate your selflessness. Brad asked, "Kay would you like to have a picnic lunch by the waterfall?" "That would be lovely, thank you," Kay answered coyly. Bradley asked, "Charlie, will you prepare a picnic lunch for us?" Charlie answered, "Sure no problem." Kay and Bradley dressed and headed to the mansion to shower and change. On their way to the waterfall, they picked up the picnic basket from the kitchen and immediately left for their lunch. Brad thought In spite of what I said, I love being alone with Kay. I am glad we'll have some time alone and still allow everyone to finish what needed to be done to make this a birthday to remember for Kay. The magical council are going to attend the party since there is going to be a meeting while everyone is here. The council is also curious about Kay and wanted to see her use her powers for the first time. A White Tiger and The Wolf Ch. 09 While Kay and Bradley had their picnic, John and Travis showered, dressed and changed before heading to the Black Security office building where they were keeping Johnson. They had an armed escort in case of trouble. Everyone else showered and changed into what they were wearing to the party. With all the extra guards and guests arriving the party was going to be huge. Which is why, they set it up in the large dining room. At the Black Security Offices John and Travis arrived at the interrogation suite in the basement of the Security firm. "Hi Riley, how's it going?" said Travis. "Not very well, we've been trying to get answers from him for days now, but he keeps silent," Riley answered. "Who's with him now?" asked Travis. "No one at the moment, he's in his cell handcuffed and secured by an ankle chain to make sure he can't escape," replied Riley. "Where's Sebastian?" Travis said. "Upstairs in the main security room watching him on the camera," replied Riley. "Well, this is John. He's going to perform the mind sweep on Johnson, and then we'll have the answers we need," Travis said. "Nice to meet you, John" Riley said while shaking John's hand. "What's a mind sweep, John?" "Well basically, I'm going to read his mind by connecting mine to his. There will be no escape," John answered with a determine gleam in his eyes. "Will it hurt him?" asked Riley. "A little, because I'm forcing the information from his brain without his consent. He'll be unconscious by the time I finish. He'll probably end up with a headache and nothing else, unless he fights me a lot. Quite frankly, I couldn't care less how much it hurts," said John. "Do you have to touch him or be in the same room as him?" Riley asked. "Yes, I'll have to touch his forehead," John replied. "Okay in that case, I think we'll move him to Interrogation Room One. It has a trolley bolted to the floor to which we can strap him," Riley said after a little thought. "Is it a strong trolley?" John asked. Riley answered, "Yes, we had it specially made to withstand very heavy objects and extreme pressure." "That sounds fine, because he is not going to like what I am about to do much. He may even try to get physical," John said with a nod. "You can either stay in the room with me or watch it on camera." "I think I'll go and watch it in the security room with Sebastian," said Travis. "I'll stay with John. I want to watch him work," said Riley. "Tell Sebastian to come to Interrogation Room One for a minute and bring Derek with him, so we can get the prisoner secured before we introduce him to John." "Right, I'll send them down to you," replied Travis. John followed Riley into Interrogation Room One to get things ready. They made sure the straps to hold the prisoner down would be able to hold him tight. When they finished, they were joined by Sebastian and Derek. "Lads, this is John. He's going to do a mind sweep on Johnson. It will cause some head pain, so I think it might be best to strap him to this trolley," said Riley. "Hi John, if you don't mind me asking, who are you?" asked Derek. "I'm Kay's father," John replied. "Who's Kay?" asked Sebastian. "Kay's Bradley's mate," replied Riley. He laughed when he saw Sebastian's and Derek's expressions. "I know it was a bit of shock to me as well. You'll meet her later at the party they're holding for her birthday." "Yeah, we'll be going with you when you leave here since we have another security team that will watch Johnson," Derek said to John. "Okay, but, after I give him this mind sweep, he won't be conscious for couple of days unless he is stronger than most. It depends on his will and how long it takes me to break through as to how long it will take him to regain consciousness," said John. "Is this room wired for video and sound?" asked John. "It's connected to both," replied Derek. "Fine, I'll go in the other room until you can get Johnson secured. Then we'll start," John said. Derek, Sebastian and Riley frog marched Johnson into Interrogation Room One and forcefully strapped him to the trolley. "He's very strong, isn't he?" said Derek. "Yes," replied Riley, "I think we'll handcuff his wrists and feet to either side of the trolley to make sure he stays put." "What're you going to do me?" asked Johnson. "You'll see," replied Riley. "You should have cooperated with us early, and then this wouldn't be happening." "Alright, we're already for you, John," said Derek. John entered as Sebastian and Derek returned to the main security room to watch. "Right Riley, let's get the show on the road," said John. "What're you going to do to me?" asked Johnson worriedly. "John's going to do a mind sweep on you. Ever heard of one of those before Johnson?" Riley asked. Johnson started trying to free himself from the trolley. He had not only heard of mine sweeps before but had watched Lazlo perform one on someone. The person was screaming in agony. He thought I have to get free. I know that Lazlo will kill me if I tell them anything, and if he's going to do a mine sweep, I don't see how I'm going to be able to keep anything from him. "Relax, Johnson," said John. "This will only hurt if you try and block me. I really don't care how much it hurts you. We're going to get the answers to our questions from you." "Oh God, no. You can't do this," Johnson said disparately. "I can and I will. Do you know who I am?" John asked. Johnson gave John a blank look. John said, "The man that you tortured is my nephew and the woman that you are looking for is my daughter." A look of sheer terror came over Johnson's face and he thought Damn, I'm fucked. If this guy doesn't kill me, Lazlo will. Either way my life is over. "I see you understand the situation, now. We must have the answers to our questions. Now lie still and be a good boy," said Riley laughing. He was really enjoying himself, and John had not even begun the mine sweep. "Alright, no talking," said John firmly and put his fingertips on either side of Johnson's forehead pressing lightly. Then he closed his eyes and connected with Johnson's mind. All of a sudden, Johnson shouted, "No, no please stop it hurts." John chanted. He was chanting so low that Riley could not understand him even with his enhanced were hearing. "Oh God, I can't resist," said Johnson. "It feels like my brain going to burst." "Riley, what do you want to know?" asked John. "Who's behind the kidnapping of Paul and why do they want Kay?" Riley answered. John knew who was behind the kidnapping of Paul but decided to find out as much as he could about why they wanted Kay. He pushed him a little into Johnson's mind and all of a sudden he had the information he required and so much more. By this time Johnson was screaming because his head was splitting. Johnson said, "You might as well kill me now because I'm a dead man when the boss finds out I let you know what he's planning." All of a sudden the screaming stopped and it appeared that Johnson had gotten his wish. John removed his fingers and opened his eyes. John's eyes were glowing and his tiger was close to the surface after seeing what Johnson and Lazlo planned. He almost did as Johnson asked and killed him. He really could not believe that anyone could be that demented. It is only because he did not know how Bradley and Kay would respond that he did not kill Johnson. He'll be unconscious for at least a week because it took me a minute to gain control of myself. I probably caused him some brain damaged. Oh well, since he doesn't have a heart, he does not need a fully functioning brain. "Riley, have them take him back to his cell and let him rest. He will be out for at least a week," said John. Riley, Derek and Sebastian took Johnson back to his cell and secured him. John waited for them to return with his head bowed, leaning against the wall. "Let's go upstairs and have a coffee," said Derek. He could tell by John's posture, and that he had to struggle for control that what he learned was not good. Everyone was quiet as they left Interrogation Room One. "You alright, John?" asked Riley. "I can't believe how evil that man and Lazlo are," John said. "So, you were able to read his mind, then?" asked Sebastian. "We watched you put your fingers on his forehead and chant something, but we couldn't hear what you were chanting." "It's just a small spell to make him tell the truth," John said. When they got upstairs, Derek made everyone coffee. Derek thought I want to ask him what he learned, but I'm too scared. After taking a few sips of his coffee, John said, "I'll tell you what I learned, but can we phone Bradley? Once he is on the phone, I want you to place it on speaker, so that he can hear what I have to say. That way I will only have to say this once." "Yeah, hang on a moment, I'll ring his mobile," said Riley. "Hello Bradley, this is Riley." "Riley, was John able to get the information we wanted from Johnson?" Bradley asked. "Yes, he just finished, which is why I'm phoning you. He only wants to say this once, so he wants to have you on speaker as he tells us what he learned," answered Riley quietly. "Hang on," replied Bradley. He could tell by the way that Riley sounded that what they learned was not good. Brad said, "Kay, I have to take this call. Why don't you go ahead and start swimming?" Kay said with a pout, "If you are trying to get rid of me, just say so." Brad said, "You know that I am not trying to get rid of you, but I really need to take this call. You are lying on the blanket naked and I can't focus on what is being said. Please give me a break and remove the temptation so that I can wrap this call up quickly." "Okay, but you owe me," said Kay. Bradley waited until Kay started swimming and said into the phone, "Ok, go ahead, Riley." "Okay, I'm putting you on speaker, now. Go ahead, John," Riley said. "Johnson and Lazlo have been raiding different hotels trying to find my daughter," John said after taking a deep breath. "To give you some background on what we're dealing with, Riley, Kay is a very powerful woman because she inherited most of her mom's powers and most of my powers too. She is a very rare tiger, a white tiger, which she inherited from her mom. Her controlling power is fire, or so we think. I am a high ranking sorcerer who is also ancient. The world has never seen anything like Kay before. "Anyway back to what I discovered, they want to drain Kay of her powers and use them to start a war between the underworld and the humans. Lazlo's very heavily into black magic, and he has connections to the underworld. He didn't just want Paul to help him find Kay. He wanted Paul because he wants to use Paul's abilities to control people's minds on others including Kay. "Lazlo knows that Paul and Kay aren't only blood-related but were brought up together. Because they were brought up together, they have a really strong connection to each other. Kay's only just starting to get her powers where as Paul has had his since he was little and has had time to perfect using them. If he can't drain Kay's powers from her, Lazlo wants to control Kay and therefore control her powers. "He also wants to use Kay's powers to destroy the other races. He'll stop at nothing until they are all destroyed. With the other races destroyed and control of the underworld and the humans, he would rule the world." "He sounds mental," said Riley. "Oh my God, John," said Bradley, "the magical council have started to arrive. We need to get this information to them." "I know," replied John with a sigh. "Alpha, the other security team's here to relieve us, so if it is alright, we'll be heading to the compound in the next half hour," said Sebastian. "Johnson's secured in his cell for the night, and John said that he'll be unconscious for at least a week," said Riley. "Ok fine, head to the compound. We'll deal with this tomorrow. In all honesty John, I thought that you had killed the scum," Bradley said, and his anger could be felt threw the phone. "I almost did, but I hadn't talked to you and I didn't want you or Kay angry with me," John answered with a smile. "We'll discuss this further tomorrow because tonight is all about celebrating Kay's birthday," Bradley said. Meanwhile back at the compound Brad took Kay to the waterfall for their picnic because she seemed to love this spot more than any other in the compound. The spot was beautiful and very relaxing. They arranged a blanket under a tree and removed the items from the picnic basket that Charlie packed. Brad thought I cannot believe that Kay never had a birthday party growing up. What kind of nuts were her aunt and uncle? I am so glad that we're going all out to make this party a success. I really hope that she has a ball. After arranging the things in the basket, they decided to have a swim before eating. They stripped and were about to wade into the water when Brad's phone rang. Kay did not know who it was, but suddenly Brad was making excuses to get her out of the way, "Kay, why don't you go ahead. This is an important business call." She thought as she pouted It's my birthday and Brad is trying to get rid of me. I know that it's a little childish, but I thought I would have him all to myself. While she was thinking, Kay waded into the water and just stood there allowing her body to adjust to the temperature. Before she started to swim, she felt Brad's arms around her. Brad said, "I'm sorry, but that was a phone call that I had to take. Now, what's this about wanting to have me to yourself? What do you plan to do with me? Are you going to have you wicked way with me?" Kay began to giggle and said, "You're a nut. I'm sorry for being selfish and wanting you all to myself." Brad said, "That's okay. I don't mind. Frankly, I like having you all to myself, too. Now, where were we before that call so rudely interrupted us?" They started swimming in and out of the waterfall. Shortly, Kay grew bored with swimming and decided to stand under the waterfall to allow the water to massage her shoulders and back. The weight of the water on her back felt nice and relaxing. While standing under the waterfall, she watched Brad swimming. Suddenly, she had an overwhelming urge to have him, right then. The more she watched him, the more she wanted him. She wanted him more than she wanted anything in the world. As she thought about making love to Brad, Kay got flush. Brad felt her staring at him and looked in her direction. The look in her eye had him instantly aroused. He waded across to Kay, wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her towards him and kissed her. Oh God, Kay thought, he's such a good kisser. I can't get enough of his lips. Brad slowly rubbed his hand along her waist toward her breast and bent his head taking one nipple in his mouth while pulling and twisting on the other one. Kay thought I feel amazing. The throbbing between my legs is so intense. Even though we're in the water, I am getting really wet and turned on. She gasped as Brad licked the nipple on each breast, with long slow strokes. Kay moaned and arched her back trying to get nearer to him. He spied a spot by the waterfall with thick, soft, green grass. Picking her up, he made his way to it and gently laid Kay on it. Trying to give Kay the opportunity to calm down, he placed tiny gentle kisses on her neck and along her collarbone. He thought I've never taken the opportunity to devour Kay with my eyes as well as my hands and mouth. If I can allow both of us to calm down, I think we would both enjoy a slow, leisurely exploration of her. Once they were calmer, he allowed his eye to feast upon her. First he took in every detail of her feet. They were small and dainty, not at all what you would expect on a tiger. Next her ankles were thoroughly examined. He noticed that she had a small tattoo of a wolf on the inside of her right ankle. He said, "When did you get this?" Kay answered, "I got that for my 18thbirthday." Brad thought No wonder we're such a good match. She had a weakness for wolves even before we met. He place a soft kiss on the tattoo and stated, "I never noticed it before. Let me see what other surprises you have for me." His gaze travelled up her calves where his noticed She has nice strong calves. I don't know why that surprises me considering how fast she can run. They looked so good that he could not stop himself from running his hands over them. He could smell that she was getting aroused again, but he was determined to complete his exploration of her body. As he stroked his hands over her thighs and stomach, he could feel her begin to tremble. He thought She's so responsive to the slightest touch from me. He slowly continued his journey up her body to her breasts and thought I better not linger here. If I do, I'll never finish my exploration of her body. Sooooo, I think I will jump to her arms. He lifted Kay's arm for inspection. She has the most beautiful skin, not a blemish on it. I can tell that she has been out in the sun because her skin is a nice healthy peach colour with just a hint of pink. If she had been in a tanning bed, her skin would be a more of a tan colour. He noticed that she had a perfect bend to her elbow and that the skin on it was so soft and virtually smooth. He continued his inspection She has such dainty wrist and hands. I just love it when she runs her hand on my chest or up and down my dick. He checked her shoulders and noticed a light dusting of freckles and a tiny mole. Her neck was long and graceful. She has the cutest little ears and her nose turns up just a little bit on the end. Throughout Brad's examination, Kay became more and more aroused. By time Brad examined her neck and face, Kay was ready to pounce on him. She was almost hyperventilating when she thought, Oh God, why is he torturing me? He is just looking at me and every now and then he strokes me or kisses me. He better hurry up and do something or I'm going to explode. Finally, Brad returned to her breast. He thought as stroked his fingers lightly across her breast, Her breast are a perfect fit for my hands. They are not overly large but could never be mistaken for being small. They are just right. He bent his head taking one of her nipples in his mouth while playing tenderly with the other one. She tastes delicious, he thought. My cock is so hard that I am surprised that it has not fallen off. I've got to get inside her. I can't stand any more of this and from the way Kay is squirming she can't either. She looked so beautiful he was having trouble breathing, so he took a deep breath. That breath made his wolf go berserk. The pheromones that Kay was emitting had Brad fighting hard to keep his wolf at bay. Instinctively, Brad raised his head to take a breath further away from Kay's body, hoping that this breath would contain fewer pheromones and would help him get the situation under control. When his head lifted, his eyes locked with Kay's. The amount of lust and love contained in her eyes made Brad drop his guard enough to allow his wolf to take over. The wolf could not resist how aroused she was. He needed to taste her so badly. He grabbed her legs and pulled them apart. He did not know anything about being gentle or wooing their mate, but he knew what he wanted. He knew what he NEEDED. He needed to taste her, and he needed to taste her badly. While the wolf and Brad fought each other for control, Kay decided to do a little exploration of her own. She removed her arms from around his neck and rubbed her hands down his chest. Once she arrived at his nipples, she started playing with his nipples earning a groan from him.
