Enjoy! x * Mia stood in the darkness of the alleyway, revelling in the sounds of the night and the breeze that stroked across her face. Picking up a delicious scent, her eyes snapped open and she smiled. Walking to the entrance of the alleyway, she quickly scanned the building opposite for security cameras and was pleased to find there were none. As she hung about in the alleyway, she rested against the wall and watched as her prey walked down the street. Whistling she caught his attention and winked when his face looked over in her direction. His eyes quickly scanned her up and down before cockily jogging across the road to the where she stood. She walked back into the darkness and her sharp eyes saw him blindly approach. Silently stepping closer to him, she blew on his left ear causing his head to rapidly turn in the direction. Her fangs came down and she bit hard into his exposed neck. Her hand covered his mouth to smother his cries as his blood filled her mouth and she drank greedily. When his body went limp, she released him and licked her lips. Mia looked down at the dead man and felt another part of her humanity abandon her to be replaced with the blood lust of the monster she now was. She hated this. She hated what she was now and hoped that the creature who had destroyed her happiness was suffering immensely. She had had a life once, friends, family and a cat and now she was all alone except for her pussy... She was laughing at her own humour when it occurred to her that she was laughing over a corpse and immediately stopped. She really was turning into a beast. Closing her eyes, she tried to quieten the internal battle raging inside of her. "Interesting tactic..." Her eyes snapped open and she hissed in surprise. A tall man stood in front of her, casually analysing the body on the floor before looking into her eyes. He was clearly a vampire, his warm scent told her that, yet there was something about him that screamed danger and caused her vampiric instincts to flare. Meeting his eyes, she backed away slowly. There was something about him that was so familiar and yet she knew she had never seen this man before in her entire existence. His gaze remained fixed on his face like a predator watched its prey. "What is your name?" She continued to back up slowly. Don't provoke him... "Mia." He inhaled the air around him and looked to the sky. "Mia..." He said her name like a prayer. The vampire had swept back shoulder length black hair and even though he was wearing a black leather jacket she could tell he was muscular. His grey eyes once again met hers. "How old are you Mia?" She felt a strange urge to tell him. She couldn't look away, there was something so compelling about him. Her inner animal craved be closer to him, touch him, kiss him... Kiss him? Are you insane?! She cursed herself silently. He could kill her in a second and yet she was fantasising about him, she must be losing her mind. Curse the vampire who forced this on her to hell! He smiled at her and she felt her heart beat faster. Why was he smiling? Realising she hadn't replied yet, she tried to concentrate. "Nineteen." He raised his eyebrows. "So young..." He took a step towards her and she continued to back up only to be met with the wall. He came closer until he was just a breath away. Her quickening heart was now pounding painfully in her chest. As he lifted his hand fear ran through her. Did he mean to strike her, strangle her? But then to her complete and utter surprise, he ran the back of his fingers across her cheek bone and leant in to kiss her lips. His kiss was firm and masterful and seemed to reach the very core of her soul. Waves of amazing heat swept through her at the contact. The backs of his fingers that had run across her face ran down her side and she gasped as his hand ran past the curve of her breast. His tongue entered her mouth to deepen the kiss yet she found it was not unpleasant. How many times had she imagined her first kiss? As he broke away, he breathed in her ear. "How long I have waited...my love." * OK guys, please comment and let me know what you thought! More is on its way! x Love Bite Ch. 02 Raven Moon here! I am so very flattered that you all liked the first chapter! You all left me grinning form ear to ear! So, here is the second chapter- I sincerely hope you enjoy! * Mia found breathing difficult and she knew that it wasn't just down to the kiss. This man seemed to call to her very soul. No not man, vampire. She remained trapped between him and the wall yet the real prison was in the form of his eyes. His gaze continued to meet hers and even though he said nothing, his eyes spoke a thousand words. She was lost in them. It was one of his kind that had forced her into this life and yet here one of them was again, taking control: making her helpless. One of their kind. She felt tears start to form in her eyes at the thought. His eyes delved deeper into hers and he brushed away an escaped tear. "Why do you cry, love?" She flinched at the contact, hating how the feel of his fingertips against her face was like an electric current over her skin. "I am not your love!" Side stepping along the wall, she left the intense space. The corpse once again caught her attention as its staring eyes looked in her direction. Mia gagged. She was going to become like the bastard that had destroyed her. Heading towards the entrance of the alleyway, she breathed deeply. No, she would run away from the horror that had happened, run from the creature that was trying to torture her with more pain. She had almost reached the exit when out of nowhere he was in front of her. His eyes were hard as steel and his arms were crossed across his impressive torso. A breath caught in her throat at the sudden movement. Fear overwhelmed her and as he approached her voice came out desperate and weak. "Please, don't hurt me- just let me go. Please, please!" He frowned. "Why would I hurt you? I would never..." Lies! His way of causing her more pain! Tears ran more freely down her eyes and she felt herself begin to shake in terror. Memories flooded back to her: unimaginable pain, screams echoing in her ears... She couldn't breathe. No more pain, she couldn't handle anymore. Crumbling to the floor, she was unable to escape the tornado of agony she was trapped in. As a set of strong arms wrapped around her waist, she fought desperately: hisses erupting from her lips. The atmosphere around her slipped away to morph into new shapes, new colours and new light. Her hands which had been pressed against cold concrete were now spread on a soft cream carpet. The air was warmer and she could hear the sound of a crackling fire behind her. A warm orange glow was cast over the luxurious wallpaper providing the room with comfort. Mia was still unable to escape her memories. The pain of earlier had been replaced with sorrow as each individual face of her victims ran across her mind. "I'm so sorry..." She sobbed into the carpet. "I'm so, so sorry..." Each scream of terror consumed her mind as every single man and woman of the past year engulfed her thoughts. The man who had grabbed her, flipped her onto her back and pinned her arms above her head. "Mia! Look at me!" Mia thrashed her head from side to side as she was suffocated by her memories. Her latest victims muffled pleas melted into her own encounter. She had been late home, walking quickly in case her flatmate locked her out thinking that she had her key. She witnessed how she had cursed once again for forgetting to grab it before rushing through the door to work. A scuffle behind her had caused her to turn around in panic. The sky was dark and the streets were deserted. Her heart had been pounding in her chest. Pulling her bag higher onto her shoulder, she had rushed on now desperate to enter her building. Another movement in the corner of her eye had forced her into a jog. Something had pulled on the bottom of her legs forcing her to hit the ground and be dragged back. She had screamed before a bloody hand had clamped over her mouth. A force from behind her had bent over the hammering pulse in her neck and bitten down hard. Agony caused her to scream louder as the animal pierced through skin before she felt a sucking at her neck. Mia had tried to fight as hard as she could but as her blood left her body her consciousness started to fade. Another searing wave of pain caused her to scream again as what felt like acid burned the skin at her neck. A male voice cursed loudly before releasing her to her torture. The relentless acid had spread from her neck down her hip and burned across her back and chest. When it had reached her heart she thought she was going to die. If anything she hoped for it... ****************************** William watched helplessly as his bride, the one woman made for him alone, thrashed under him screaming in obvious hurt as he attempted, uselessly, to bring her back to the present. He would rather die than witness her in any pain and seeing her turmoil was like someone had destroyed his new found reason to live. Each of her cries was a strike of a whip to his flesh, one he would take gladly if it meant protecting her. He replayed what had happened in the alley to try and determine the cause to her behaviour. He remembered that he had been hunting when he had sensed her close. She had been like a beacon of hope, an angel to save him from his eternal damnation. When he had scented her she had been like the heaven she had flown from. Her scent had been sweet like lavender- yet not overpoweringly so, and had had the comfort of vanilla and the freshness of the earth after summer rain. When he had arrived, he had watched her take down her prey and had scented something else but had been too distracted by her beauty to register it. And her name: Mia. Even thinking of her name brought warmth and love to his reawakened heart. But her scent... Frowning, he leant down and inhaled her skin. Lavender, vanilla, summer rain and... magic mushrooms? Of course! If she was as young as she said she was, she may not have recognised the scent on her prey and had taken his blood containing the substance. She was having a bad trip. "Mia, listen to me. You're safe. There's nothing to be afraid of. You're safe." William released her wrists and swept her hair back from her sweaty forehead. "There's nothing to fear, Mia, not anymore..." As the sky darkened, he held onto her trembling frame as her violent episode ran its course. ****************************** Mia woke up the next morning to find herself lying on a luxurious, soft bed face to face with the man from yesterday. His grey eyes once again met hers levelly, acting like a fog light against the grogginess of her mind. Neither one of them spoke as they looked at each other, testing the air around them. Mia's breathing was rapid in comparison to his and she tried to calm herself. His sensuous lips parted as he broke the silence. "Are you alright?" "Who are you?" She whispered, too scared to move- barely brave enough to breathe. "My name is William Smith." His eyes flickered towards the door at the other end of the room and back. "This is my home." Mia was confused about what had happened but was still unable to help the shiver than ran up her spine at his name. William... Her eyes flickered to his mouth and back to his eyes. "Mia Richards." Smiling slightly, he picked up her limp hand from the duvet and placed a tender kiss on her skin. "It's nice to meet you." * OK guys, you know the drill! Let me know what you think! Love love! Raven Moon x Love Bite Ch. 03 * Hey guys! Sorry this took me so long but I was putting a lot of effort in! Hope you enjoy!* Deadly Society William watched as Mia walked around, admiring the various paintings and ornaments that decorated his room. She hadn't spoken since she had told him her name and he could tell she was still shaken up after her experience. Watching her walk around his room was strangely satisfying. To see her fingers hesitate over the pieces of the chessboard on the small table on the other side of the room caused him to smile. With each timid movement he learnt more about her. She was curious and seemed to inspect every object thoroughly making him belief she was strategic. He body language suggested that she was shy but he couldn't be sure that it wasn't just his presence that set her on edge. He'd need to watch her more carefully; the thought was incredibly satisfying. As he noticed her attention remained on the intricately carved wooden board he was unable to resist the opportunity to provoke her angelic voice once more. "Can you play?" He asked her gently as he walked over to stand beside her. She shrugged. "A little..." She kept her head low allowing her long brown hair to partially cover her face. She carefully stroked the bishop as he watched her face. "You must have some questions." ********************************* She looked up at him, her eyes wary as she looked into expressive grey irises. His eyes were honest and open and met hers evenly as she tried to read them. Embarrassed by her staring, she lowered her gaze to the rest of his features. He had a smooth jaw and a strong chin and his lips seemed to call to her. His nose was straight and she could imagine him running his face down her neck breathing in her scent. Her breathing sped as she imagined this god doing exactly that. She found her attention being brought back to his lips as he smiled and she mentally cursed herself. What the hell was wrong with her? Realising she hadn't responded she concentrated on getting the answers she needed. "What happened to me?" William's face was calm as he answered her question. "The man you drank from had a hallucinogenic in his blood: magic mushrooms. When you took his blood into your body you also took the substance causing you to feel the effects." She blinked in shock. "That can happen?" Mia could see clear alarm cross his face. "Were you not told about this after you were turned?" "Told? By who?" As his eyes narrowed in what appeared to be anger, she diverted her gaze from his face. Anxiety clutched her; she was still cautious about his demeanour and didn't want to inflame him. "By the vampire that changed you." She flinched at the word she always avoided. Turning her back to him, she strode towards the window and looked out to the bright sunshine. She remembered how she had once been terrified of it until she had accidently exposed her hand to the light. Panic had caused her to jump back only to discover she had not been harmed. Ever since that day she had savoured every ray that touched her skin. Mia gulped as she looked out across the flower filled garden with its lush green grass and vibrant colours. Fountains were hidden in the blossoms. "I don't know who... subjected me to this." "What?" His voice was dark. "I don't know who he was..." She admitted keeping her eyes fixed outside. When he remained silent she turned to look at him. "Then how did you learn to hunt?" She dropped her gaze to the floor before directing her eyes back to the window. Crossing her arms, she refused to remember the memories that came with his question and decided to change the subject. "Why did you call me love? Why did you...?" "Kiss you?" William finished for her. Her face heated at his words. Keeping her attention outside she refused to show him her discomfiture. She heard him sigh and the sound of a chair cushion sink as, she presumed, he sat down. "I did not expect this... I thought you would already know..." Frowning she turned and faced him. He was slumped in the black leather chair she had noticed earlier, his large hand rubbing his forehead. She noticed how he was watching every move she made and nervously shifted her weight. The action was so human she felt even more vulnerable under his powerful gaze. William exhaled loudly and ran the hand that had been at his forehead through his dark hair. "Mia," She shivered as his voice caused electricity to send little shock waves across her skin. "Every vampire has a mate- a soul mate if you will. Some never find the one they truly belong with but those that are fortunate enough to protect them with everything they have. Mia..." Standing up, she could hardly move as her thoughts reeled out of control. Reaching her, he tucked her hair behind her ear. "You are my soul mate. I have searched centuries for you and now it is my mission to care for you, to teach you where your creator so horrifically failed and to love you." ************************* William watched as Mia looked up at him, her eyes wide. He could hear her heart racing in her chest and her breathing come out of her chest as shallow pants. The thoughts in her head were racing so quickly he couldn't detect any of them. Finally, she reacted. Stepping back, her eyebrows were furrowed and a heavy frown covered her face. "I am not your soul mate- we don't have souls." He couldn't help but raise his eyebrows in surprise. "You believe that vampires don't have souls?" He noticed how she flinched again as soon as he voiced the word 'vampire'. "No." "You deny our connection?" "I am not your soul mate." She repeated. "But you do not deny our connection." She groaned in frustration. "This is ridiculous! Do you realise how insane this sounds?" A small smile spread across his lips. "Compared to the existence of..." When he saw her tense his curiosity got the better of him. "Why do you flinch every time I say what we are?" "I don't like being reminded I'm a monster." She whispered. Overwhelmed by her sudden sadness he stepped forward. "We do it to survive, Mia. There are some of us who do indulge in the kill but aren't there some malicious humans out there too? There are extremes in any species." Her eyes started to tear and he brushed away her tears with his hand. She was filled with so much pain it broke his heart. "Come," Stepping back he offered her his arm. "I have something which will cheer you up." Uncertainty seemed to fill her features for a minute before she wrapped her dainty arm around his. She seemed so fragile... Leading her out of the room, he watched her expression change to awe as she was met with the rest of the house. Her dark green eyes widened in shock as her questioning nature took in all of the paintings on the wall. Drifting away from him, he watched as she walked up to each large canvas and lifted her hand as if to touch the surface. Her delicate fingers traced the brush strokes as if to discover the secrets in each piece. William couldn't take his eyes off her. Her brown auburn hair swayed as she inspected each work of art, her sensuous lips curving at each famous name. Her eyes glanced at him and down as she saw him observing her, a faint blush colouring her cheeks. She was self-conscious. She was still projecting her thoughts loudly but now that he knew she had received no guidance her behaviour wasn't surprising. He smiled gently before motioning towards the stairs. Mia looked down over the open space below before eagerly descending down. A fire crackled warming the space as she took in the leather sofas and rows of books along the walls. A door on the right caught her attention and she turned to look at him. "What's through there?" If this side of her nature caused her to communicate with him freely then he'd use it to his advantage. "A spare room. Even after all these years I still do not know what to do with it." It was a lie but he decided that her fearful mind wasn't ready to hear how he'd saved that room for her to do whatever she so wished. She nodded in acknowledgement. "This place is amazing." "Thank you." As he heard a jingle of a collar approaching his smile grew. "Ah! About time she arrived." Mia, hearing the sound, turned around and gasped in surprise as her cat, Lucy entered the room. Dropping to a crouch, Mia stroked the cat's fur as I stretched into her touch. "Hey beautiful..." She cooed as the feline purred in contentment. Mia turned her head to look at him."How'd you get her here? He doesn't like anyone!" William chuckled. "Well she nearly scratched my assistant's eyes out but she seems to not find me too bad." She continued to stroke the cat a little longer before he sensed her alarm and she stiffened. "Wait a second. Why would you bring here her? Why not just take me home and allow me to see her?" William frowned. "Mia, you have to understand. It's better if you stay here. You are surrounded by people who can help you through this." She gulped. "What do you mean? What people?" ************************* "Other vampires." William confessed. Her breath caught in her throat. To be surrounded by predators? "You're things have been delivered to your room. I'll give you a chance to settle in and we will speak later." He continued. She could barely hear over the pounding in her ears. As he walked away, she felt herself crumble. "William please, you can't! Please!" He continued on to his room and shut the door. She heard it lock and she fell to her knees. "William!" *Yes, I know another cliffhanger! So don't kill me (Seriously, please don't!)and more will be here soon. I know you must have some questions of your own and they will be answered very shortly... ;)* Love Bite Ch. 04 Hey guys! Sorry about the wait but I have been working HARD!! Hope you enjoy!! Lion's Den Mia couldn't hear over the hammering in her head and as the room around her began to spin she was struggling to breathe. Surrounded by them. She was to be surrounded by murderers and killers. Lucy ran her head against Mia's leg as she broke down. She absentmindedly brushed her hand over the cat's fur as she tried to organise her chaotic thoughts. Tears ran down her face as terror raced through her body with each frenzied pump of her heart. Vampires. They were going to be everywhere she turned, every time she moved one of them would be there watching. Waiting to hurt her. "Miss?" A hesitant voice pulled Mia out of her troubled mind and caused her to look towards the sound. A young woman stood in one of the room's doorways looking uncomfortable. Of all this though she was barely aware because the woman: she was human. "I've been told by Sir William to show you to where you'll be staying..." Mia continued to look at her in shock while her words struggled to sink in. The woman shifted awkwardly on the spot. "Are you alright, miss?" Mia took a deep breath and tried to compose herself. She instantly regretted it when the human's scent filled her senses and she felt her fangs begin to elongate. Gritting her teeth, she forced herself to regain control. When she had first changed she had found it impossible to resist any person who had walked past her. Her reactions had been brutal- animalistic and she had hated herself with such passion. She'd tried so hard to smother that part of herself that she wasn't going to allow it to get the better of her now. "Yes." She whispered. She just needed to get to her room and then she could escape the human and her alluring smell. "This way then, miss." Turning around she started to leave the room before checking over her shoulder to make sure Mia was following. Forcing herself up off the floor, Mia picked up Lucy and followed her out of the room. The woman continued on silently, keeping her head down, her heart racing madly in her chest. Mia gently stroked Lucy's head as a distraction. The corridor seemed to stretch on as long as the silence and Mia's patience began to fade. The woman also appeared to be affected. "That's a really nice cat." She commented warily nodding her head in the direction of the restless feline. "Her name's Lucy," Mia explained. The woman's brown eyes looked up at her. "I'm Mia." "I'm Jenny." She replied. Mia looked at the woman once more. Jenny appeared older than her by a few years yet her hair was pulled back into a simple ponytail suggesting a more serious nature. Some strands of her hair had come loose framing her round face. Mia's probing nature caused her to ask what was bothering her. "Why are you here?" Jenny face fell and she dropped her head to stare intently at the floor. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you miss..." Understanding made Mia's face heat. "No, no! I didn't mean it like that! You're human." She looked up in surprise. "Oh! Sir William saved my life." She frowned as she recited her memory. "I was dating this guy and he seemed really nice at first. He was gorgeous and I couldn't believe that he liked me. ME of all people! But then after a while he invited me back his place and that's when things turned... ugly..." She shivered. "He bit me and I just kept on screaming. The next thing I know Will- Sir William is hauling him off me and then everything went black. I woke up in this place. Sir William explained that my boyfriend was part of a tribe and that they'd come after me. He said he'd protect me and keep me safe and that all he asked was that I helped out." Mia raised her eyebrows in surprise. William saved her? Jenny said that she was bitten so he must have had to resist the blood. Did he really have that much control? Jenny suddenly stopped in front a door. "This is yours. If you need anything just let me know." "Thank you." With a quick nod she left. Still stroking Lucy, Mia looked into her room. Words couldn't describe the room enough. Elegant, gorgeous, detailed: everything seemed to belong from the satin sheets on the bed to the soft rug and the Kandinsky casually hanging on the wall. As Lucy continued to fidget in her arms, she lowered her to the floor. Lucy eagerly ran to her bed as Mia looked around in incredulity. Hurrying to the wardrobe, Mia yanked the doors open and gaped as she was met with her finest clothes as well as some new additions. Pale silk dresses and cashmere jumpers filled the space in front of her. Rummaging through each garment she shook her head in disbelief. Pulling open all of the drawers she was met with underwear and nightgowns. Very expensive underwear and nightgowns. Very expensive and LACY underwear and nightgowns. Shaking her head she found herself gritting her teeth. "Jenny!" Jenny quickly emerged at the door. "Yes miss?" "Where are all of my clothes?" Mia demanded gesturing at the wardrobe and open drawers wildly. Jenny frowned. "I thought they were placed in your wardrobe?" "Where are my others? My tracksuits? My jeans? My UNDERWEAR for God's sake!" She flinched as her voice rose in volume. Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to calm down. Regaining control a sad smile crossed her face. "I'm sorry. That wasn't fair of me. It's just been..." Sighing she sat on the bed. "It's just been a long day..." Jenny smiled sympathetically before hesitantly sitting next to her on the bed. "May I say something miss?" Rubbing her face in exhaustion, Mia nodded. "It seems to me, miss, that Sir William cares about you a lot and that he only means well. He hasn't hurt you and when he phoned downstairs he seemed genuinely concerned. He's given you clothes, a place to stay and this room." She looked about in wonder. "All of this is for you. I think he only means well." Mia sighed. "Then why make me stay here? If I'm this so called 'mate' of his- if he's meant to truly protect me then why the hell is he subjecting me to this?" Jenny looked at me her mouth slightly ajar. "You're Sir William's mate?" "Apparently..." "Then I know this is for your own good." She replied confidently. "How can you be so sure?" "Because I trust him." Mia looked at her in unconcealed surprise. Rising from the bed, Jenny walked over to the wardrobe and pursed her lips in thought. "Now, Sir William has requested you join him for dinner." Glancing over her shoulder, she looked at the lost Mia. "Do you have any preference?" As Mia marched down the corridor she swore every curse she could think of as her black high heels clicked across the wooden panelling. Her white silk dress rustled against her skin as she stormed on unable to keep up with the rapid pace. Jenny had given her directions to the dining room but Mia's mind only partly took notice as she rounded corners to her destination. She couldn't seem to pin point her anger to one specific cause but she certainly had many choices. Grudgingly, she had admitted to herself that she could have never afforded the clothes or the jewellery that now adorned her room but her frustration at his controlling nature could not be ignored. He had forced her into an impossible situation and then believed it in his right to decide what she was allowed to own. Her blood boiled. Arriving at her target she swung open the door. Her fury dispersed as she was left speechless. A long table covered in a white table cloth took up the centre of the room. Candles sat on the fine linen casting a romantic setting and caught the wineglasses on the table causing them to shine in the light. Grand chairs were positioned at either end of the table behind a complicated array of cutlery. William was stood in front of the table modelling a black suit. Mia knew nothing of men's clothing but she could almost smell the designer. "Mia," His deep voice caused goose bumps on her arms as he acknowledged her presence. "You look beautiful as always." Reminding herself that she was meant to be angry she remained silent as she walked towards one of the chairs. "Allow me." In a blink of an eye William was already there pulling out the chair for her. Lowering herself into it she refused eye contact with him. "Thank you." He chuckled darkly behind her and she suppressed a shiver. Dahm it! Moving to his seat he sat down gracefully before placing the napkin over his lip. With some sort of unseen signal, a waiter walked into the room through a door on the far wall and offered William a bottle of red wine. Looking over it he nodded allowing the waiter to pour some of the substance into Mia's glass before his. Another scent wafted over Mia: he was also human. "Is there anything else sir?" "No thank you." William kept his eyes focused on her as the waiter retreated back through the door. She kept her head down at the hand clutching the wineglass. When the door clicked shut, he spoke again. "Why are you so angry?" Looking up, Mia felt her face flush. She decided to start with the simplest explanation. "You're making me stay here." She whispered in a small voice. Whether it be the temptation of humans or the threat of monsters she was facing her own downfall. "You're not under any threat, Mia." Mia bulked. Alarm caused her eyes to flicker up to his. "How did you know what I...?" "You're projecting your thoughts rather loudly. As your mate I hear them clearer than others would and my age also increases the clarity. You are young and untrained so have little control over hiding them." More questions reeled in her head. How was she going to protect her thoughts, her private secrets if she could not even have the secrecy of her mind? How could she cover them up? Was there some way in which she could hide them? William chuckled again. "All in good time, love." Her gaze dropped again and her face turned even redder than before. At the sound of the door opening, Mia looked up to see the waiter enter once again except for this time he held two plates of food. Placing the pasta down in front of her she barely noticed as William received his steak. Pasta: her favourite food. How had he known? "It was in your fridge at your apartment." He answered. "And there were plenty of sauces in your cupboard." Mia was feeling more and more overwhelmed by the second. Picking up one of the forks she picked at the pasta pieces on her plate and thought of her next reason. When she felt the silk of her dress once again brush her legs as she shifted under his gaze it came to her. "Where are the rest of my clothes?" "Gone." He responded simply. Gone? She bit back her frustration. "Why did you replace them?" "Mia, some of your clothes were worn and looked like they would fall apart at any second. You needed new ones- someone as magnificent as you should show her beauty not conceal it." "Didn't you consider how it would make me feel?" "I would have asked but you were a little distracted." Oh right: the trip. Had that seriously just been last night? Everything was happening so quickly... "So you did it anyway." "Do you not like the clothes?" He inquired a smile playing across his lips as he held his glass. "That's beside the point. I can't dance in cashmere." His eyebrows rose. "You dance?" "Yes." "What kind?" "Contemporary." "Ah," He took a thoughtful sip of wine. "And you cannot do that here..." "No, which is another reason why you should let me go home." She persisted unable to keep her eyes off him. "This is your home now, Mia. I did not bring you here to ham you; I brought you here to help you. You know nothing of vampires and of our society or how to reach your full potential. Here I can teach you this." "I don't want to know my full potential or of your society. I don't want to have anything to do with this part of me!" The glass which he had been raising towards his lips paused as he looked at her with a new set of eyes. "'This part of you'? Mia, this is not a PART of you- this IS you. Whether you like it or not you ARE a vampire and denying it will only make things more difficult. By suppressing your instincts you are suppressing any chance of happiness that you may have now or in the future." ******************** William stared at her with sudden understanding. That was the reason she refused to accept the connection between them; that was the reason she did not feel the desire as strongly as he did. She was refusing to accept herself and by blocking any inhuman characteristics or instincts she was blocking the full intensity of the bond. She sat quietly with her head bowed, fumbling with the food in front of her as she pondered over his words. Sighing, he turned his attention back to his steak. "You may have the spare room in my suite to accommodate your dancing." "Thank you." Her voice was even quieter than before and he began to regret his blunt words. She needed to learn how to trust him and his behaviour was only causing her to withdraw from him. An idea emerged in his mind and he quickly voiced it. "Ask me whatever you should so wish, I have nothing to hide." Her eyes flickered up to reluctantly meet his. "Anything?" He nodded. "How old are you?" She bit her lip as she waited nervously for his answer. For a moment the plumpness of her lips was the only thing that registered before he forced himself to focus on her question. "I was born in 1411 at this estate and was turned when I was 26." Her face seemed to pale. "You're SIX HUNDRED years old?" He nodded unable to hide his amusement at her reaction. She looked about the room as if she was struggling with the concept. "Why are so sure about us?" She continued, her dark green eyes finally returning to meet his. "I feel it. You yourself couldn't deny the connection." She frowned unable to argue as she had another sip of her wine. "You saved Jenny." "That's not a question." He smiled. "Why?" Leaning back in his seat he thought how to phrase his answer. "The... man she had been dating was a well known groomer. He enjoyed tormenting his victims before killing them. When I heard her screams, I was passing the house and thought to investigate." "But why did you save her? Why not...?" Drink from her yourself. Her thoughts were so clear to him. Lowering her head in shame waves of endless guilt and disgrace crashed over her. To loath oneself so deeply... "I saved her because," He took a deep breath and allowed her an insight into his past. "She reminded me of my sister. Losing one's family is painful but death is inevitable to all humans. I will never forget her though..." Glancing up at him, her eyes met his and he could tell she respected his honesty. "Can you teach me that amount of control?" "Love, I swear to teach you that and a lot more." ***************** Mia looked down at her empty plate as her mind whirled. If she could learn to have that much self-restraint there could a chance for her to have a relatively normal life. She could interact with people: have a CONVERSATION without being at war with the never ending hunger... The waiter removed their plates and quickly left as endless possibilities swam around her head. William pulled her out of her thoughts. "May I ask you some questions?" Sudden anxiety gnawed at her but she nodded. It was only fair. "How long have you been like this?" She noted how he continued to avoid the word she dreaded and she appreciated the gesture. Taking a sip of her wine she looked at him evenly. "A year." His surprise was clear. "How did you learn how to hunt?" Just as she froze, the waiter entered with two desserts and placed them in front of them. As he left she poked at the strawberry cheesecake: another favourite of hers. "An accident." The room fell into silence as the mood plummeted. Taking an unsteady breath she cut a bit of her cheesecake with her spoon. "I'd just gotten back from..." She closed her eyes to fight the threatening tears before continuing. "And my flatmate was there. She saw how distraught I was and sat me down to calm me. I told her what happened and started to cry so she pulled me into a hug." She tried to keep the story factual even though her hand began to shake with the sudden emotion. "I bit her and killed her." William's face remained the same. "I am sorry." Her hand dropped back to the table causing the spoon the clank loudly against the plate. "Next question." He was quiet for a little longer as he analysed her before inquiring once more. "Have you met any other... people like us?" Mia shook her head. "I haven't really spoken to anyone since Kelly's death." "Kelly?" "My flatmate." He nodded in understanding. "Did you have a partner before you changed?" A serious blush coloured her cheeks and she looked down at her lap in embarrassment. "I've, erm, I've never had a boyfriend..." He was her first kiss and now he seemed confident he would be her last... "I will." He confirmed. Looking at him she could see his pride. Good thing it was good for HIS ego... "What do you mean?" He asked with a frown. She returned his grimace. "I wish you'd stop doing that." "My apologies, love, but your thoughts are so loud it is like you're speaking them. How is your lack of experience bad for you ego?" If possible her face became darker. "It doesn't exactly make me feel good about myself." It had always been an issue for her. When her friends had been going out on dates and telling her all about the amazing sex they had with their boyfriends she had been the oddball: laughing with them at their stories yet not being able to empathise. She had never felt attractive or beautiful or- god help her- SEXY in her entire life. "You are all those things and more." Her face, if possible, became even redder as he once again responded to her thoughts. He chuckled darkly before she heard the scrape of his chair as he stood. Raising her head, she saw him stood next to her offering her his hand. Grabbing it she allowed him to pull her up. Looking into his eyes, she accidently stumbled in her heels and landed against his chest. "I think I had too much wine..." She admitted causing him to smirk. She could feel his body heat through the thin material of her dress as well as the hammering of his heart. His arms were wrapped around her to steady her and she had never felt so safe, so secure in all of her life. Her breathing began to quicken as she looked up into his smouldering grey eyes. The feel of his skin against hers made her feel complete- made her feel as though she was home. Glancing at his lips she registered the inviting curve of them and begged him to kiss her. Needed him to kiss her. Mia wet her bottom lip and once again met his eyes. Lowering his head, William's eyes flickered to her lips and back as he pressed his lips against hers. Her response was immediate: her eyes closing in bliss at the intensity of heat that began to warm her flesh and ignite her very core. As his hand tangled in the loose curls of her hair, he pulled away breathing heavily. "Mia," He gasped. She could feel a hardness press against her and suddenly longed to touch it. He rested his forehead against hers. "Do not tempt me, love." Taking a steadying breath he stepped back. "I must get to your back to your room before I have you right here." His words sent a shiver up her spine but she conceded and allowed him to guide her out of the room and down the corridor. Her senses were still sharp but she felt looser, more relaxed. Common sense and reluctance left her as she held William's hand tightly. They were almost there when a tall man with platinum blonde hair rounded the corner. His bright blue eyes lit up at the sight of them and a cruel smile crossed his face. Vampire. Love Bite Ch. 04 William pulled her behind him as he eyes the vampire warily. "Lucias what are you doing here?" His smile remained unaffected. "I need to talk to you William about some affairs." His attention turned to Mia hidden behind him. "And who is this charming young lady?" William looked at him calmly. "This is Mia." Lucias bowed his head. "It's very nice to meet you Mia." He cocked his head and swept his eyes up and down her body. "Very very nice." William growled low in his throat and Lucias smirked. "Go wait in my office." Lucias pouted. "And I was so looking forward to spending some time with your plaything." With a snarl William had released Mia's hand and had launched himself and Lucias. Grabbing his throat he threw him against the wall causing some cracks to spread across the plaster. His fangs elongated and his eyes shone. "You will never speak about her like that again. And if you so much as lay one finger on her I will have you begging for death do you understand me?" "Yes." Lucias choked, his eyes wide. As he was released, he crumbled to the floor and gasped for air. Mia gulped as she saw the wild look in William's eyes calm and Lucias look at him warily. Her heart pounded once more but this time it wasn't lust. Hurrying past the pair she launched herself into her room. "Mia!" She ignored William as she locked her door and stepped back towards her bed. Suddenly sober, sense came back to her. How could she have forgotten? Vampires were monsters and now she was in a house with one. All she had to do was wait for him to attack. OK guys, you know the drill! Comment, rate let me know what you think! It's getting longer... I know how some of you guys will be proud of me for that! I seriously love you all you make all of this so worthwhile! More will be up soon! Love love! Raven Moon x Love Bite Ch. 05 Here you go guys! I am so so SO sorry about the long wait but (in case you haven't read) I have deleted a load and changed the direction of where I was going. I sincerely hope you enjoy! Instincts William paced his study with a glass of whisky in his trembling hand. Anger churned in him as he was unable to escape his memories of what had happened. The look of fear in Mia's eyes as she had run from him played over and over like an accusation. His grip on his glass tightened as he remembered how she had locked herself in her room and had refused to answer him as he had asked for her to open the door. Lucias had watched clearly filled with contempt. Groaning in frustration, he threw the glass at the wall opposite and panted heavily as he watched the whiskey run down the wall. "You know if you wanted to redecorate there are easier ways of doing it." William turned around to look at the tall Italian man in the doorway. His dark brown eyes looked at the mess. "It also requires less alcohol..." William walked back around his desk and sat in his chair. He hunched forward and peered up at the man. "What do you want Lorenzo?" The man's mouth tilted into a condescending half smile. "I had heard that you had brought a female companion to the manor. At first I didn't believe it, knowing that you would have surely shared such plans with me. But then I go on to hear that she's a vampire and well then my curiosity truly peaks." William ran his hand over his face. "I only found her yesterday and I've been busy ever since." He stood up and walked over to his cabinet before pulling out two glasses and filling them with the golden substance. He passed one to the dark haired man. "Ah," Lorenzo nodded, accepting the drink. Taking a seat opposite him, he leaned back. "I think it's time you told me everything." William told him all about their first meeting and her lack of knowledge as well as her refusal to accept what she was. He finished with the events in the corridor. His anger bubbled once more as he thought of Lucias' words. His friend's face turned thoughtful as he had a sip of his drink. "You say that she was responsive to you just after she had hunted and after she had had too much to drink." "Yes, but it appears that she is unwilling to acknowledge what we have." He ran his hand through his hair. "I feel as though I am fighting a losing battle. I need to be with her and yet for her not to feel the same..." Pain ran through him. Lorenzo smiled sympathetically. "I know your pain my friend." Standing up he walked to the cabinet and grabbed the whisky before refilling William's glass as well as his own. William looked up at him. "How did you do it? I mean to have a mate that is HUMAN- I don't know how you managed." His smile turned mischievous. "A lot of persuasion." William smirked as Lorenzo sat back down. "Of course, how could I have forgotten you taught Casanova everything he knew?" He lifted a hand in a casual shrug before his eyes flashed as though a sudden thought of inspiration had come to him. "You do realise what you have to do to, don't you?" William frowned. "What CAN I do?" "Think about it. She was susceptible to the bond when her guard was down. The first time, her vampiric instincts were still dominant and she had the drug in her system and the SECOND time she was intoxicated and her inhibitions had gone." William's frown deepened. "You told me that she wouldn't come to turns with her new life." "Yes..." "Exactly! Anything that is foreign to her she will automatically reject. But when she is no longer holding back..." "She reacts to the bond." William concluded. Leaning back in his chair and smiling at the revelation. Lorenzo nodded approvingly. "All you have to do is appeal to her primitive instincts, cause them to rise to the surface and then she will come to accept the link between you." He leaned forward. "My friend, you have to seduce her." *********************** Mia didn't want to wake up the next morning. Her head felt like it was being attacked by a jack hammer and the thought of, her once favoured, sunlight made her recoil further under the duvet. How could a hangover feel so bad? Sure, she's heard about them: 'A pain in the ass!' one had said. 'The result of a good night." The other had said but MY GOD did they really have to make the room spin? "Ehhh...." She groaned pulling the duvet over her head. "Miss...?" A hesitant voice called out from the other side of the door. The scent wafted to her: Jenny. "Yeah, come in." Her voice was groggy and she tried to clear her dry throat. "I can't, miss. The door's locked." "Ehhh...." "Are you alright, miss?" "Can't you call a blacksmith?" Mia grumbled in the direction of the entrance. "Is the lock broken?" "No, but the ability to reach it is..." She mumbled. Louder: "Hang on..." Hauling herself out of the bed, she grabbed the dresser to steady herself as her legs wobbled before shimmying towards the door. Resting her palm against the wood, she flicked the switch on the handle and pulled it open. Jenny pulled her attention to the entrance and blinked in shock. "Miss, are you ill?" Mia laughed. "In a way..." Making her way back to the bed she collapsed onto the mattress. Jenny frowned before entering the room and shutting the door behind her. "If you don't mind me asking, miss, what happened to the wall?" Mia's face fell as the memories from the night before came back to her. "William." Jenny was clearly confused. Taking a deep breath she explained the night's events and noted how she seemed to pale at Lucias' name. When she had finished she looked at the shell shocked woman in front of her. "Jenny, what's wrong?" Jenny's gaze was fixed on a spot on the wall and she had to blink several times to focus. Her hands were trembling slightly and her eyes began to water. "Sir Lucias," Her voice trailed off before she tried again. "Sir Lucias tried to rape me." "WHAT?! When?!" "A few weeks ago." She whispered. "I was new here and he tried to take advantage." Her head dropped. "He got me in a room on my own and he would have succeeded if it wasn't for Sir William. He dragged him off me." Mia shook her head, suddenly understanding William's actions. 'If you so much as lay one finger on her' He was referring to what had happened to Jenny. "Then why is he still hanging around?" She shrugged helplessly. "Sir William tried to get him sent away but he has connections in the community." Tears started to slowly leak from Jenny's eyes and Mia felt a wave of sympathy. She was about to reach for her when visions of Kelly played in front of her eyes. She hesitantly grabbed her hand but yanked her hand back when she felt her body heat tease her skin. Hunger flared deep inside her. Jenny looked up at her in hurt. Mia's voice was quiet. "Jenny can you please leave, I need to get changed." "Yes, miss." She gave her a comforting smile. "Please, call me Mia." Jenny's eyes remained distant. "Yes, Mia." Standing up, she left the room and shut the door behind her. Mia sat and buried her face in her hands. She couldn't do this anymore... ************************** William sat behind his chair in the study and watched as the sun brightened up the room around him. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about Mia in his room last night. What could he say to her? He frowned as he thought. Would she even want to see him? He closed his eyes as he fought past all of his guilt and tried to concentrate on a solution. He needed to speak to her. The thought of her seeing him as an animal caused him to wince in shame. Maybe he could explain his actions? He groaned in frustration. But how would that help his cause that they weren't all monsters. Even though Lucias was... He gritted his teeth and moved on as he felt his anger build. What could he say? A gentle knocking on his door drew his attention up. He inhaled deeply and shock kept him frozen in his seat. Mia was on the other side. The hesitant tapping came once more and he quickly composed himself. Quickly pulling himself out of his seat, he walked over to the entrance and opened the door. One of Mia's arms gripped the bicep of the other and her head was bowed. Her voice was a whisper. "Can I come in?" Her stance baffled him for a moment before I spoke. "Of course." Stepping aside, he allowed her into the room. Her feet were sluggish as she entered and she stood silently at the desk, her head still lowered. Closing the door, he walked over to her. Her sorrow filled him. Lifting her chin, he forced her to look at him. Tears ran slowly down her face. "Mia, what's wrong?" Sobs ripped through her chest and he pulled her into his arms and rested her head against his torso. "I can't d-do this anymore." Her voice broke on the last word along with a part of his heart. He stroked a hand over her head. "Can't do what, love?" "I c-c-can't be this monster any-anymore..." She buried her face in his shirt and he closed his eyes. Her thoughts were dark- morbid. They made him feel sick. He couldn't live without her. He lowered his head to murmur into her hair. "What has happened?" She tried to take a shaky breath. "I told Jenny about what h-happened last night and she got u-upset about L-Lucias." She gulped as she tried to steady her voice. "I couldn't c-comfort her. I wanted to reach out to her but then I saw K-Kelly and I c-couldn't do it. I t-tried to grab her hand but then I felt her body heat. I really hurt her feelings." Another snivel came from her. "I can't even t-touch a human being because it's too difficult. I can just about be in the same r-room as one without k-killing them. I can't go on like this anymore..." William gently rubbed her back as she slowly calmed down but her thoughts were still dismal. "I'm going to help you through this, Mia." "I'm sorry, I sh-shouldn't have bothered you but I c-couldn't talk to anyone else." "You aren't bothering me- you could never bother me." He released her slightly so that he could look into her face. Pulling his phone out of his pocket, he dialled his assistant's number. She answered immediately. "Yes Sir William?" "Natasha, please rearrange all of my appointments for today to later on in the week." He could hear her shocked gasp over the speaker. "Yes, of course, Sir- is there anything else I can do?" "No that will be all thank you." He hung up and saw her shift her head so that her eyes met his. "We're going to spend all day working on this. I'm going to explain to you everything and we're going to start on protecting your thoughts." "What about control?" She whispered. He sighed deeply. "I'm afraid, my love, that time is the only cure for that." He brushed his hand against her cheekbone when he saw the hope dim from her eyes. "It does get easier." Her gaze lowered and he was once again faced with her resistance as she stepped back. She cleared her throat. "Thank you." His hands fell to his sides as he looked at her. "It is the least I can do." Fighting his dismay, he listened to her racing heart. She had wanted to stay but her logic had forced her away. Taking a deep breath he spoke. "Mia, about last night..." "I know. You were protecting me because of what Lucias had done to Jenny." He lowered his gaze to the floor. "I did not mean to scare you." "I know." She looked around the room and anxiously wiped her hands on her trousers. "So when can we begin?" "Now if you like." She nodded, apparently eager for the distraction. "Alright," He walked to the door and opened it for her. "After you." As she left the room. He clutched the handle. He knew that the bond had led her to him but she still would not accept it. It felt as through every time he made progress with her she'd hide in herself or run away. He rested his head against the wall and closed his eyes. "All in good time." He murmured to himself before following her out. ************************ Mia descended down the stairs and walked over to the sofa. Her heart was still pounding in her chest from her intimacy with William and she scolded herself. It was just because she had been so upset and had a shoulder to cry on that that she now felt so at peace. It had just been a coincidence that he knew she needed to be held. He could read her mind! That was it- he had just heard that she needed the contact. But why had it felt as though she was so protected and loved? Why had she suddenly felt such joy to battle the sadness? She shook her head angrily. It was just because she had needed someone there. She could still fell his warmth; her cheek still tingled where he had touched her. She clenched her fists. It was just because she had needed support that was all. As he began to head towards her his eyes met hers and her heart fluttered faster in her chest. What the hell was wrong with her? He came towards her and gestured for her to sit down. Lowering herself in the seat, she watched as he sat next to here and once again admired his grace. "Mia," He was silent for a moment as he appeared to plan what to say. "I am going to have to explain to you all of the basics that your creator missed." "Creator?" "The person who turned you. In our community we call them creators." "Have you have been anyone's creator?" She asked. Images of him dragging down a woman and biting her caused fear to pulse through him. He shook his head. She breathed a sigh of relief. "Not everyone turns people that way. Some people ask to be changed." "Who would want that?" Horror washed through her. Who would want to go through that pain? Who would want to battle the thirst? "Remember when I explained about mates?" She nodded. "Not all vampires have other vampires as their mate. Some have humans." Mia couldn't wrap her head around it. "How? How do they? How can they not kill them?" William smiled. "It's very rare. If the vampire is older they can just about manage but if they are younger..." His smile fell. "Well you can understand..." Of course she could. To get that close to a human- to have their body heat overwhelm them and to have their pulse hammering... Mia leant forward with the onslaught of sudden hunger. Her body craved for the blood in her mind. William's voice was tender. "Try to think of something else." She looked up at him to see him unaffected. She concentrated on his voice and the depth of his mysterious grey eyes. No! She dropped her head. She wasn't attracted to him! That was ridiculous! It was just that she was confused by everything that happened. Her mind began to slip back to thoughts of veins. "Mia, you're not helping yourself." She tried to block him out but was bombarded by thirst. A light pressure under her chin forced her head up. His lips caressed hers and her eyes closed. His kiss was soft, calming and light as his mouth brushed against hers. Are you insane?! Her mind screamed at her. You don't know him! Pulling away sharply, she glared at him. "What are you doing?" She registered that her body was on fire for him and her irritation grew. She needed to get a grip! His eyes seemed to smoulder causing her breath to hitch in her throat. "It ended your thoughts on the subject, did it not?" She was about to argue when she realised he was right. Realising that she was sitting there dumbstruck under his heated gaze her face heated. She narrowed her eyes at him and pretended it was anger. "Don't do it again." A smirk was playing across his face but he didn't continue with the subject. Instead he decided to get back on track. "...When you take blood you must first make sure that there are no substances in their system. Things like alcohol and drugs will infect your bloodstream and, as you have learnt, it is not a pleasant experience." She shivered at the memory, still ridiculously aware that his eyes were on her. Common sense made her proceed. "How can you tell if someone has a substance in them?" "After a while you become accustomed to the different aromas and you learn to avoid them." Mia bit her lip as she analysed this information: looking at it from all angles. "You, of course, already know about exposure." She nodded. "It was kind of a given." He chuckled. "I suppose it is fairly obvious." "Anything else?" "Do not hunt around the same area for too long. If the police receive enough bodies they find a link and that risks discovery." "OK." She glanced down at her hands and mused over his words. The whole conversation was making her extremely uncomfortable. Having this conversation was like she was accepting part of what she was and she knew she wasn't ever going to do that. The room filled with a thoughtful silence as Mia pondered over her life and how so many things now needed to be considered. She was being required to enter a world which she frankly wanted no part of and held on to her humanity as though it was a life draft in a stormy sea. Unexpectedly, William stood and offered her his hand. She was cautious after his advance earlier but when he refused to withdraw his outstretched palm she grudgingly accepted. Being pulled up she was once aware again of the space between them. She could feel his body heat and felt herself being drawn to it. Her breathing became shallower and she gulped. Enough! Releasing his hand she stepped around him When she dared to glance back over her shoulder, she saw that he had turned to face her and that his eyes were empty. Realising he held her attention, he hastily concealed his grief. "Come," He smiled. "Let me show you the house while I explain more." Taking his arm, she walked with him out of the lounge and into the quiet hallway. OK guys, I hope you enjoyed it! I will work my booty off to get more to you soon! Let me know what you think! Love love! Raven Moon! x Love Bite Ch. 06 Hey guys! OK so I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it! * Passion Lorenzo sat in the lounge down the stairs from William's study, observing the behaviour around him. A fire crackled, warming the room and attempting to ease the tension that was being so eagerly emitted from his companions. He'd been introduced to Mia a few hours ago and after her initial reservations she had opened up more and had soon seemed to relax in his presence. He noted how William was sat next to her and how he seemed to watch her every move from the corner of his eye. He seemed so on edge now- a- days and dark circles had started to mark his face. His body seemed to subconsciously gravitate towards hers as hers did to him but neither seemed aware of this. When William's phone had begun to penetrate the tranquillity, he had excused himself to answer it. He seemed to slump as he walked to his office and the light faded even more from his eyes as he left her side. When he had shut the door behind him, Lorenzo looked over the gentle auburn haired woman in front of him. He took a thoughtful sip of his whisky as he mused over all he knew about her. The way in which she held herself showed her femininity yet her bowed head exposed her shy nature. Her hands were placed on her lap showing her lack of confidence in her surroundings and... "Sir Lorenzo," She called, pulling him out of his analysis. "Please can you stop staring at me? You're making me anxious." As she finished her cheeks warmed and he frowned. He'd never seen a vampire blush so much... "Call me Lorenzo, please. And my apologies, I have just heard so much about you." He cheeks darkened at the comment. "I hope you haven't heard ALL bad." "Nonsense! I have only heard praise." She gulped as her face, could you believe it, turned a shade redder. "William?" He sent to his friend. "How is it possible for a creature to blush so much?" A mental chuckle accompanied his reply. "I do not know, my friend, but I find it rather endearing..." Lorenzo laughed to himself at his response and noticed Mia looking at him in mild confusion. "What?" She smiled. He shook his head. "Nothing, my dear, I am just... thinking of a conversation." William's laughter echoed in his mind. Ignoring William's amusement, Lorenzo looked outside. "Mia, it is such a wonderful evening. Would you care to accompany me for a walk outside?" She glanced in the direction of the office. "What about William?" Ah good, she cares about his feelings... "I believe that he may be a while." She frowned as though considering the idea before rising cheerily. "I'd love to. Let me just grab my coat." As Lorenzo waited for her to return, he couldn't help but once again think of William's composure. He could sense that he was occupied but the urge to question him upon it was still dominant in his skull. "I am fine, old friend." William whispered into his mind. "I thought you were meant to be working..." "A very beautiful woman keeps on intruding my thoughts..." Lorenzo had expected him to finish humorously but when he remained silent, his concern grew. "You look ill..." "It is just the stress of the situation; I hope that it will soon pass." "Have you seen any improvement?" He was silent for a long time. "...No, but she no longer she's me as a threat." Lorenzo faltered. "It has been a week!" Again he was quiet. "...I know." Mia returned to the room then and Lorenzo looked at her with new eyes. How was it possible for her to not be joined with William by now? Feeling his friend's despair he frowned. She blinked at him. "What's wrong?" He turned his face into a smile. "Nothing." Rising out of his chair he stood in front of her. "Shall we?" She judged his face for a minute before shrugging and allowing him to lead her outside. The journey didn't take long and as they walked across the soft grass he was about to turn to speak to her when he realised she was no longer next to him. He turned around fully to see her stood still with her eyes closed and her head raised towards the sky. The light touched her face and her hair swayed in the breeze. "She loves the light." William explained. A so called 'creature of the night' that adored the sunlight? Lorenzo watched her in silence before she opened her eyes and looked at him. A gentle smile came across her face. "I'm sorry; it's just that when I first... changed I thought I'd never be able to feel the light on my skin again." He nodded. "I understand." She took a few steps forward to join his side before they continued. After a few minutes, they continued in the direction of the bright flowers. Lifting a branch of a tall blossom tree out of Mia's way, Lorenzo pondered over how to begin. "Mia, there is something I must explain to you about Lucias." She shifted uncomfortably at the subject. "About why he is still allowed in the manor." "I was wondering about that." She confessed quietly. "William doesn't seem to like talking about him so I didn't ask." "Be assured he is very rarely in the manor as he knows how unwelcome he is but he still, occasionally, needs to sort out business with William. You see, William is quite knowledgeable about companies so he is charged with offering business advice to other members of the community. After what happened William tried to convince the figure heads in our society to give him permission to ban Lucias from the building but due to Lucias' connections they went in his favour. Lucias is allowed to visit the manor when he is in need of guidance but is forbidden to go anywhere near the servant's quarters. It is an incredible vex to William. I have known him for a long time and yet I have never seen him as furious as he was at the council's decision." She nodded solemnly. "When did you first meet William?" He was unable to hide his amusement as he tried to work it out. "...It must have been three hundred and eighty four years ago." Her shock was clear. "How old are you?" "Four hundred and ninety eight this year." She looked forward and frowned. "Everyone is so much older than I am..." He laughed. "Just give it time." Sadness entered her eyes. "... But I don't want to. I guess, I guess a part of me wants to still be human." He stopped to look at her. "I am sorry for what happened to you, Mia. No one should go through that." Her head bowed. Lorenzo could feel William's grief and felt the need to rectify the situation. "Mia, what do you consider makes a person human?" "What do you mean?" "What qualities?" She bit her lip. "I've never thought of it that way before. I guess: emotions? A conscience?" Lorenzo carried on with their stroll and she soon joined him. "Do you believe you possess these?" "Yes." "Anything else?" "Memories." "And you have these?" She shivered. "Yes." By now they had reached the blooms and she was bending her head to inhale each one and brush her fingers over their buds. He watched her as she did so, feeling William's awe. Their connection caused him to think of his mate, Rose, and their own bond. His heart raced in his chest as he thought of her. Remembering that William required his help, he forced himself to concentrate. "If you have these qualities then surely the rest is all insignificant." When she was quiet he attempted to hear her thoughts but found she had her mental shield up. William had taught her well... "...I guess..." She murmured. "Everything is just so new to me. I've been a..." She took a deep breath and released it slowly. "A vampire for a year now and yet I still know so little." Lorenzo felt a jolt of shock through his link with William. "What is wrong?" "She has never said the word before- she used to flinch whenever I used to speak it." "Maybe you have helped her more than you realise, my friend." William's pride and love washed over him at this. It appeared both had needed this conversation. He focused his attention back on Mia. "It just takes time." She looked at him with uncertainty. "Did William tell you about how he thinks...?" Her control on her mental barrier slipped before she put it back up. Lorenzo smiled gently. "Yes, he told me how you're mates." She frowned once more and bit her lip. "How he THINKS we're mates..." Pain echoed through the link. "I believe you are." She looked at him in dismay. "We can't be." "Why not?" "It's... it just sounds insane." She turned her head towards the flower in her hand. "The idea of vampires sound ludicrous but we still exist." He pointed out. She shyly glanced up at him. "So you believe in 'mates'?" Lorenzo grinned. "I KNOW they are real. I have been fortunate enough to find mine." Mia's eyes widened. "Really? What's her name? Where did you meet her?" He felt his happiness glow as he thought back to the moment he first saw her: the moment he just knew. "Her name is Rose and I met her in 1921." Her face was alight with curiosity. It seems she's a romantic... "How long had she been a vampire?" "She was human." Mia's face fell and she paled. "Human? She was human? How did you...?" He could work out what she was trying to ask. "How could I have a relationship with her when I she was human? It was very difficult- VERY difficult but I did it for her." She looked at him in respect. "Wait, you said her name IS Rose. She's still alive but if you met her..." Her face grew grim. "You turned her." "She asked me to. It took her a while to accept our bond but when she did she knew that we were on borrowed time." "But what if she changed her mind?! What if you'd fed from her and then she didn't want to become like us?" "I made sure she was certain of her decision and stayed with her while she changed." He explained. She shook her head in disbelief and walked towards the trunk of the blossom tree. "Why is it so difficult for you to accept that someone may have wanted this?" He saw her shoulders lift as she breathed deeply before she turned around to face him. "I've only seen the negative with this- I just can't understand why someone would choose it." He took a step towards her. "Some people find that the good out way the bad." "But how do I find the good?" "You allow yourself to be happy." She raised an eyebrow. "What makes you think that I don't allow myself to be happy?" "I have seen you around William." He persisted on when she rolled her eyes. "It is obvious you want to be with him but- for whatever reason- will not allow yourself to be." Her face heated. "I don't know what you're talking about." It was his turn to raise his eyebrow. "You are a terrible liar, Mia." She sighed and pulled her coat tighter around herself. Neither one of them spoke as both became lost for words. Even the cool autumn air around them seemed to quieten as if sensing the need for peace. "I think it's time we got back." She muttered. "I am afraid it is time for me to leave." He offered her a gentle smile which she returned. "I will call by tomorrow." "Do you want me to let William know?" "He already knows." Her confusion was clear. "How?" "We have a link which allows us to communicate with each other. I have just let him know." She gulped. "I...see...well, goodnight Lorenzo." "Goodnight Mia." He picked up her hand and placed a gentle kiss on the back of it before releasing it. Pink tinted her cheeks before he watched her walk back towards the building. "Good luck." He sent to his friend. Taking a deep breath he thought of Rose waiting for him and instantly felt a grin pull across his lips. Embracing the night around him, he began to run. The air whipped past him as he cut through it, moving so quickly trees shook in his wake. Arriving at the tall house, he raced up the stairs- unnoticed by the maids- before stopping at the bedroom. A caramel haired beauty was pacing back and forth in agitation before looking up at him with relieved blue eyes. Stepping forward he wrapped her in his arms where she relaxed. "Rose, I have told you there is no need to worry." "I know," She breathed, her musical voice causing his heart to beat faster. "It just makes me anxious when you are away for so long." Reaching down he kissed her hard on the lips and she melted under his affection. Running her hands through his hair, she moaned and his member eagerly began to harden. As he picked her up, she wrapped her legs around his waist before he lay her down between the cushions. She sighed. "Lorenzo..." *********************************** Mia made her way through the house still considering Lorenzo's words. He was the second person to have accused her of sabotaging her own happiness and now she was seriously considering the idea. She hadn't meant to; it hadn't been like she'd been trying to cause herself more misery. But how had she been denying herself? She thought of William and her growing feelings towards him and had to battle the temptation to push the thought away. It was how she had survived for the past year. Anything that had imposed a threat to her shaky existence had to be ignored otherwise her fragile stability could have been compromised. The method had helped her so much it was now ingrained into her system and she was having trouble breaking from the habit. But did she want to? She still didn't believe that her and William were mates and that was the reason that she refused to acknowledge her feelings. To do so would allow her to fall into this delusion that they belonged together and yet it was killing her seeing how day by day another part of his soul would fade from his eyes. She was a mess. Entering the lounge, she saw William sat on the sofa nursing a whisky. She'd asked him last week how he was able to drink normally but not through people. He'd explained that the adrenaline in their blood when they died mixed with the alcohol and caused problems for the vampire. She shivered at the thought and even though she hadn't understood completely she hadn't wanted to know anymore. Noticing her movement in the doorway, William looked up and gave her a faint smile which she shyly returned. Moving towards the sofa, she tentatively sat next to him as he looked into the fire. After a few moments of comfortable silence, she eyed the whisky speculatively. "What does that taste like?" He paused with the glass at his lips and looked at her in surprise. "You have never tried it?" She shook her head. "I'm afraid not." He looked at her for a moment as though judging her before passing her the liquid. Her heart hammered in her chest as he watched her. She longed to know what he was thinking. As she carefully grasped the cool glass her fingers brushed over his and her skin began to tingle. Her eyes looked up at his before she hastily looked back down. Taking an uncertain sip she almost coughed at the strong flavour that filled her senses. Her face must have given her away as he took the glass back off her and chuckled. "It's an acquired taste." "I thought rich men like you would have preferred brandy." She spluttered, still tasting the power of the flavour. His amusement grew. "I became quite fond of it during the great depression." She laughed. He seemed to focus on her hair as she grinned. "What?" "You have blossom in your hair." She reached up and picked at her hair. "Where?" He placed the glass on the arm of the chair. "Here, let me." She lowered her hands as he reached across and ran his hand through her hair dislodging the pieces. Mia couldn't take her eyes of him as he did. He was so strong and protective and yet gentle at the same time. She'd never met a man like him... She suddenly became aware that he was still running his fingers through her hair even though she was pretty sure her hair was now clear. The way in which he was looking at her caused butterflies to flutter in her stomach and each brush of his hand caused electricity to dance over her scalp. Fire seemed to run through her veins as his eyes gazed into hers. Desire pooled between her legs. Clearing her throat, he moved his hand as she stood up. "Excuse me a minute." She just about saw his look of disappointment before she hurried to his en-suite and locked the door behind her. Looking at the mirror, she saw she was flushed. How did he do this to her? She gulped and ran a shaky hand through her hair. Need pulsed through her as her body craved him. Her crotch begged for her attention and she gave into it by slowly rubbing her hand over the area. As the heat grew, she undid her trousers and pushed them down with her underwear. Sitting herself down, she ran her finger over her slit and massaged her breast slowly. She was soaking as she rested her head against the wall and closed her eyes. Her frustration grew as she continued to go on unfulfilled. A knocking drew her attention up rapidly. There was no doubt that William was on the other side of the door. Panicked, she yanked her clothes back up and tried to compose herself. Opening the door, he stood there with a sexy smirk on his face and his eyes alight with humour. He knew. Mia's face erupted in heat at the knowledge. He knew she'd been masturbating in his bathroom! How humiliating! The only thing that could make it worse was if he knew that she'd never had an orgasm! That would surely just kill her... His eyes smouldered. He could read her mind. She felt her face become even darker. Dahm it, dahm it, dahm it! He stepped forward and possessed her lips pulling her against his body and leaving her vulnerable to his affections. Picking her up, he placed her on his giant bed before placing tender kisses down her neck. Her blood boiled. "William, I..." His lips were at her ear and she had to suppress the urge to shiver. "Ssh, don't think: feel." He continued his trail down her neck. "I promised to teach you, Mia, so let me teach you..." His mouth reached her collarbone and her head sank further back into the duvet under his intense kisses. His hands slowly undid her shirt and tenderly pulled it off. Slowly kneading her breast, he lifted his head to look at her: his gaze devouring her. Dread overcame her: no man had ever seen her like this... "You are so beautiful." He whispered- his voice full of wonder. Warmth ran up her spine. He removed her bra and ran his thumb over a nipple to see it harden. Meeting her eyes, he slowly lowered his head to her breast and began to suck. A gasp escaped her lips at the pleasure that he so powerfully invoked. Subconsciously, her back arched to encourage him. Using his hand, he began to tease her other nipple as it puckered. Unable to resist any longer, she grabbed his hair and drew his lips to hers. She didn't want to deny her feelings anymore- she couldn't. Kissing him with all she was worth, she explored his mouth with her tongue and felt her joy soar when he did the same. Teasingly, he pulled away and ran his lips down her throat and she closed her eyes and combed her fingers through his hair. "William..." She felt the bulge in his trousers and stroked it with a hand. He groaned. "One lesson at a time, love, one lesson at a time..." Kissing down her chest, he continued on to her stomach and undid her trousers. Tugging them of, he stared hungrily at her underwear. Mia knelt up to watch him. William parted her legs and slowly caressed a thumb over the damp silk. Her body squirmed in longing as her nipples tightened in anticipation. Painfully bit by bit, he slipped the silk thong off to expose her glistening sex. Bending her knees, William kissed the inside of her thighs before softly rubbing her slit with his finger. She gripped the sheets beneath her as she felt his breath across her sensitive flesh. "Please..." She could hear his hushed chuckle before his tongue. Mia moaned as he lapped at her most intimate area- no longer bashful at his attentions. The pleasure made her delirious. Love Bite Ch. 06 His tongue stopped and she was about to protest when she felt his mouth suck at her red bit. Mia cried out as he dominated her body, setting her skin alight. His fingers began to pump in and out of her core as she felt herself build higher and higher. She gripped the sheets tighter as her body coiled tighter like a spring ready to snap. He growled and the sound caused her control to shatter. Waves of ecstasy crashed over her and had her reaching for the sky. Slowly she came back down and slumped back into the mattress. William wasn't finished. He continued to taste her causing her head to thrash from side to side. He skilfully drew another orgasm from her which was even more powerful than the last. And another. And another. Slumping on the bed, a layer of sweat covered her skin. William was panting with her but his eyes were filled with masculine triumph. Moving to her lips, he kissed her in her earnest before running his fingers through her hair. She watched as he reluctantly pulled away and place a tender kiss on her forehead. "I'll see you downstairs." He breathed before leaving the room. She could sense his desire and didn't begrudge him for leaving. He was going before he gave into his temptation to move onto the next step. She gulped as her body's humming began to dim. She had it BAD... * Yay! Finally, eh? OK so you know the drill! Let me know what you thought! More will be on it's way soon... ;) Love love! Raven Moon x Love Bite Ch. 07 Here it is guys- I've been uber busy but I hope you enjoy! * Let the healing begin... William watched from the doorway as the light came through the large windows: shining down on her and causing her skin to glow. Her hair changed colour as she pirouetted in front of the mirrored wall: her body fluid like water. Wisps of hair had escaped from her bun and hung around her face. He couldn't take his eyes away from her. She was so graceful, so beautiful as he saw the passion burn from deep within her. She seemed so free. He didn't recognise the music that was being played from the stereo at the other end of the room but it seemed to match her movements perfectly. As she wiped her forehead with her forearm her eyes swept over him and her already flushed skin darkened. Picking up a remote from the floor on the corner she pressed a button to stop the composition before walking over to him. "Hi." She was breathing heavily but her face was filled with joy: her eyes bright with excitement. "How long have you been standing there?" He was unable to stop a small smile pulling across his lips. "A while." He admitted. She gulped before lowering her head shyly. Lifting her chin, he waited until her eyes opened and gently placed his lips on hers. She responded to him, a feeling he was still getting accustomed to, and moved her lips with equal tenderness against his. He pulled away to see her eyes closed, her lips glistening. Slowly she revealed her green eyes to him and his breath caught in his throat at the sight of them. Brushing his thumb over her lips, he looked into those amazing dark emerald irises. "You're an incredible dancer." "Really?" Her face lit up and a grin came over her features. "Really." He cupped her cheek. "You know I do a little dancing myself." Curiosity filled her eyes. "What kind?" William ran one of his hands down her neck to see her shiver before trailing his fingers down her arm and grabbing her hand. His other arm wrapped around her waist and he backed her into the room. She allowed him to guide her into the open area and laughed when he slowly began to rotate them. "A slow dance." She beamed. Resting her head on his shoulder she sighed in contentment. His heart beat strong and steady in his chest at having her in his arms. ********************************** Wrapped in William's arms, Mia felt safe and secure. She was still confused about her feelings for him but couldn't deny them. The connection she felt with him was nothing she had ever known. After she had changed she had thought that she would never feel another human's- another PERSON'S body against hers ever again. She had missed the feel of skin against skin, the scent of a person's fragrance, a person's voice of comfort- the taste of humour on her lips. She had missed just seeing people. She'd seen victims but not PEOPLE. Mia had missed the woman from the book shop who had smiled at her; she'd missed the guy behind the counter at her local coffee shop who had given her her order with a nod of his head. She'd analysed these scenes in her head over and over again memorising every detail trying to determine their lives. Yet now, she was refamiliarising herself with the contact. The intensity of the feeling of companionship nearly brought her on the verge of tears. She felt William press his lips against the crown of her head. "You're thinking very loudly, love." She giggled. "I can't help it!" He chuckled to himself. "That is true..." "And besides I think you need to stop listening so much- I mean look what happened last time..." She felt him stiffen and begin to harden at the memory. "Actually, love, I was very pleased to have heard your thoughts then as I enjoyed the consequences..." She felt her face heat and turned her head to bury it in chest. Could she really have that kind of effect on him? He drove her crazy every time he touched her yet for her to make him feel the same... "You could not even begin to comprehend what you do to me." He groaned. He pulled her closer and she could now feel his hardened member against her. She was about to consider something else but realised that he'd hear her thoughts. She'd consider it later... "Will I ever be able to do that?" She asked him, looking up into his eyes. His grey eyes were warm as she drank him in. "What?" She rolled her eyes at him. "You can read my mind..." The corners of his lips turned up in a subtle smile. "I am trying to be polite." "Will I ever be able to read your thoughts?" He frowned. "Unfortunately because you were not trained you are unable to do so now when most other partners would be able to. There is a way however that would allow you to. You have to..." A gentle rapping at the door drew their attention out of their conversation. "Yes?" Jenny stood hunched in the doorway, her eyes darting to the pair and back to the floor. "Sir Lorenzo requires your presence in the study, sir." William's frown deepened. "Did he happen to mention the reason for his arrival?" She shook her head. "He just said it was urgent, sir." Mia watched as William stared at the woman for a few more moments before turning back to her. "We will discuss this later, I promise." She nodded and he leant down to kiss her lips. The kiss was short and sweet but enough to sustain her until she saw him again. She watched as he left the room before turning back to the stereo. Jenny entered the space. Mia turned to face her and smiled. "Hi, how are you?" Jenny returned her smile with a shy one of her own. "I'm alright thank you, you?" Mia looked at the other woman. William had spoken to Jenny after what had happened and now they were on better terms but both women were still trying to rebuild their uncertain relationship. They were still cautious around each other as if one wrong move could crumble the shaky foundations that had been salvaged. "I'm good, thank you." Jenny shuffled on the spot and looked at her feet. "I see you and Sir William are together." It wasn't a question but Mia felt the need to answer her anyway. "Yeah, we are." A grin came on her face at the thought of him. "Were you dancing?" Mia nodded in answer to her question. "Can I watch?" "Sure!" She beamed. "I could do with a second opinion anyway." Jenny looked about uncertainly for a moment before sitting on a chair at the side. Mia pressed a button on the remote before quickly placing it back in the corner and positioning herself. Then she began to dance. The beat of the music pulsed through her as she span and leapt through the air. She felt every note of the melody as it surrounded her, consumed her. As the tune faded, her movements slowed and then stilled. When the track had stopped completely she grabbed the remote and stopped the music before turning to face Jenny to see her reaction. Mia laughed. Jenny's mouth was hanging open, her eyes wide. "That was INCREDIBLE!" A blush coloured her cheek. "Really?" Jenny spluttered. "Ye- YEAH!" A wave of pride swelled through Mia. "Thanks." ************************ William smothered his impatience as he faced Lorenzo. He was eager to get back to Mia and hold her but the anxious crease between his friend's brows held his attention. Shifting in his seat, he rested his chin in his palm. "What is it Lorenzo?" Lorenzo's features deepened in stress. "We've received news of the Brennan tribe." William froze in tension. "When?" He demanded. "Last night, a source of mine told me the news." "Where?" "About fifteen miles away." "What are their intentions?" William stood up and began to pace. "Nobody knows: there is only speculation at the minute." "I thought they had left for America." Lorenzo shook his head. "Apparently not, they were meant to but then..." Lorenzo looked meaningfully at William's apprehensive face. "Certain things occurred." William stopped and absorbed the information. "What should we do?" William frowned as he continued pondered how to handle the unsettling circumstances. "...We are not to tell Jenny or Mia. Telling them would cause them to fear for a future that may not even occur. I am not going to be foolish though. Track the tribe's movements and inform me if you hear any news that would lead to concern." Lorenzo nodded. "What of the council? Do they know of the Brennan tribe return?" "I originally heard the news off one of the maids. Apparently the tribe have been asking to receive some form of financial assistance. The council have approved on the condition that the tribe limits its methods." William groaned loudly. "That gives them a certain advantage." "Or it could show they have merely returned for money and plan on leaving again." "True." William nodded. "Never the less, I do not want the information shared in the house until absolutely necessary." William looked towards the doorway as he heard a door in the distance close and Mia's scent reached his senses. A smile came across Lorenzo's face as he also became aware of this. "I will leave you two alone." Standing up, he buttoned his suit before exiting the room. A quick exchange could be heard before the light footsteps of Mia approaching. William poured himself a whiskey before sitting down behind his desk. Taking a sip, he watched as she entered the room. Her skin was still slightly flushed but as she entered the room, she entered with such delicacy she appeared as though she would pirouette any second. "Hi." She whispered. He nodded his head in response. "What's wrong?" He sipped his whiskey. "I am alright, I am merely tired." Closing the distance between them, Mia stood in front of his chair. He placed his whisky on the desk before grabbing her hips and drawing her closer. She ran his fingers through his hair and he could feel the underlying confusion that still plagued her. William rested his head on her stomach. "You still do not understand." "No," Sadness filled her voice. "Why do I feel this way?" He pulled her closer so she was sat on his lap. Stroking her cheek, he soothed her. "Mia, all you need to know is that I love you and that I would die for you. I know you don't understand but we belong to each other." She looked down shyly. "You belong to me?" He smiled. "As you belong to me." His lips pressed against hers and she clung to him while he ran his hands down her curves. He felt her hand brush down his stomach and over the front of his trousers. He exhaled sharply. As she moved her face to kiss his neck, he closed his eyes. "Temptress..." As his thoughts grew hazy, his mind suddenly registered something. Pulling her back, he looked at her pale complexion. Quickly checking her pulse, he found it to be slow and weak. "Mia, why did you not tell me you were thirsty?" She slowly blinked at him. "I was fine before." "You're dancing must have burnt the rest of your energy." He swept his hand through her hair back and saw her loll slightly. Gripping the back of her head, he guided her to his pulse. "Drink." "But you're not..." He voice was light, hazy. "It will sustain you for a while." "It'll hurt you..." "It is pleasurable for vampires- now DRINK." He felt her nuzzle his neck for a long time before her teeth pierced his skin. He gripped the chair arm in momentary pain before waves of ecstasy rolled off his skin. As she suckled at his neck, he felt his shaft become painfully hard. "Not too much, love." ****************** Mia lapped at his neck as she heard William's low, husky voice murmur to her. His blood was hot and sweet and warmed her very core. Desire burned through her as she felt his skin beneath her lips. She could feel his ragged breaths beneath her tongue. Not wanting to hurt him, Mia pulled herself away and licked the wound that she had made. Shuddering, she inhaled William's scent. "Thank you." He kissed her shoulder and made a trail up her neck. "Anytime, love, anytime." * Well there you go! Hope you liked it! Love love! Raven Moon x Love Bite Ch. 08 OK sorry for the wait but here it is- enjoy! * "William..." "Mia." She glanced up at the impossibly handsome vampire in front of her as he ran feather-light caresses at the side of her neck. "You need to hunt." It was an argument that had been repeated time after time again. She dropped her head in shame. "I can't." "If you do not: you will die." "I can't..." "My love," He placed both hands on her neck and forced her to look at him. "You have to- my blood will not sustain you long and I will be with you throughout the entire process." It had been a week since William had ordered her to take from him yet already the hunger was becoming unbearable. She loathed hunting and its very necessity. The past year had been spent fighting her need for blood until her will power had crumbled and she'd been resorted to stalking the streets at night. It was a never-ending cycle of need and murder. Mia rubbed her throbbing forehead. "Can we please discuss this after Lorenzo and Rose's visit?" William sighed and she could sense his despair before he nodded gently. Ever since she had drunk from him his mind was becoming less of a mystery yet she was still unable to pick up any thoughts. A sudden thought occurred to her and she looked up at him. "I can't believe I've never thought of this but now I'm curious. How is it you and Lorenzo can communicate?" "What do you mean?" "When I had a conversation with Lorenzo a while ago and he was leaving, I offered to tell you that he had left but he told me that he had already informed you. How?" William grinned. "Myself and Lorenzo are both more experienced vampires- we have been around for a much longer period of time than most and are therefore more connected. Like most vampires that exchange blood we gained an essence of each other and this essence becomes more powerful over time." Mia's eyes widened. "You exchanged blood?" "It was a necessity at the time which has proven to be most useful. England was, unbeknown to its habitants, going through a vampire civil war. We exchanged blood so we had more of an advantage when we faced with difficulty." She couldn't help but to think of the way that she had taken blood from William and his reaction and felt her face heat at the thought of him being so intimate with Lorenzo. William's booming laughter filled the empty hall. "No, my love, nothing as drastic as that: we each cut our palm with a knife and dripped some of our blood into separate glasses for the other to drink." When he saw her blush darken, he brushed the back of his fingers against her burning cheek. "Blood exchanges are a unique experience. The most powerful of these are between mates where their eternal bond is solidified. It is rare for any other species other than vampires to take part in the exchange as no other species is reliant on the substance and most are able to communicate telepathically anyway." He frowned and began to mutter to himself. "That reminds me: I have an appointment with the alpha of the pack in central Manchester..." "Wait, you're losing me: both vampires have to have each other's blood?" He could clearly tell what she was getting at. "We have half of a blood exchange as you have my blood but for you to hear my thoughts completely I would need to drink from you." A forbidden shiver ran down her spine and she noticed how he watched her reaction carefully. She liked the idea far more than she should. "And when will you do that?" She felt her heart beat faster in her chest and her breathing become shallower. His eyes were burning in passion. "Would you like my bite, Mia?" Gulping, she nodded. He slowly took a step towards her and wrapped his arm around her waist. His kiss consumed her as he captured her mouth with his. Heat crashed over her and she melted into him, feeling his muscles rippling in his chest. She could feel his hardness as he lazily trailed a hand over her breast down to her stomach and over her hip. As she gasped, he duelled his tongue with hers before whispering kisses across her cheek and down to her ear. Biting its shell, his hushed voice made the intimacy so much more intense. "After you have hunted, then I shall give you what you crave." Her breathing seemed loud in the silence around them. "Then what was this?" His smile turned devilish. "A preview of what is to come." Placing a soft kiss on her hammering pulse, he pulled away and grabbed her hand. Her breathing was ragged as her body hummed. "Come, Lorenzo has arrived." *** William was struggling to concentrate as his friend spoke. He found that his gaze was continually drifting towards the flushed woman opposite them as she took part in an animated conversation with Lorenzo's mate. The cat was sat on her lap and she absently stroked it as she laughed at something Rose had said. "William." His companion's voice whispered in his mind forcing him to turn his attention back. His friend was sat with a smile on his face. The voice continued. "My ego is suffering." William chuckled before answering aloud. "Surely there is no possibility of that happening?" Lorenzo's smile grew. "I see you are quite content. I wonder: what has caused the sudden change?" "I spoke to her about blood exchanges and she is eager to commit to one." "That is good news indeed." William was unable to conceal his happiness until a thought came over him causing him to grimace. "What is wrong?" He glimpsed up before once again lowering his gaze. "She is still reluctant to hunt. I made an agreement with her that I would finish the exchange after she had drunk." A brazen smile came over his face. "Clever. But what do you mean FINISH the exchange." William felt himself become reserved. "She was in need of blood and I insisted she draw off me." A dark chuckle erupted from Lorenzo's throat. "I am sure you enjoyed that immensely." The men shared a knowing look. Lorenzo took a sip of his whisky and William could see a sparkle enter his eye. "Just wait my friend; it only gets better from now on." *** I really liked Rose. She was friendly and bubbly and just seemed to make the room brighter. "So how did you meet Lorenzo?" I asked her. She beamed. "He was new in my village, he was only meant to be staying for a short amount of time- he said he was passing through. I just remember when I was out with my friends and I saw across the street." Her face lit up at the memory. "We just looked at each other and I didn't want to look away. He came over to us and the girls around me started giggling but I still couldn't take my eyes off him. He didn't take his eyes off me either. It got to a point where I used to climb out of my window at night and meet him in secret." "It's sounds so romantic." She nodded. "It was. I remember the first time we kissed. It wasn't the done thing back then but it just happened. I was shocked- naturally- but it felt so right that I never thought to question it. I just knew I didn't want anyone else." "When did you find out about vampires?" "It was just after we had taken a stroll under the full moon. He'd been acting funny all night and when I asked him what was wrong he said there was something that he needed to tell me but that he was afraid. He told me how he was a vampire and how we had a bond and that we belonged to each other. At first I couldn't comprehend it but then I thought about how I always felt that something was missing in my life and how being with Lorenzo filled that ache. It took a while but after just being with him I came to accept it. But when I accepted it I was faced with a dilemma. I knew that I was getting older while he stayed frozen and that I didn't want to lose him. I asked him to change me. It was the anniversary of the day we met and we were lying on his bed. He made sure I knew what I was doing before biting me. It gets a bit hazy after that but I remember him biting his wrist and forcing me to drink. I remember the pain but he stayed with me and held me. And the rest is history..." She knew of the ache she spoke of. She often felt it herself when she was human: it was something that she had never been able to explain before now. Lucy purred in Mia's lap but she hardly noticed as she listened to Rose's story. "Can I ask you something?" "Of course." "How is it you can hunt? How can you deal with the guilt?" Her face became gentle in understanding. "In my eyes surely it is better to sacrifice the one then to decimate the many." Mia frowned at her. "What do you mean?" "If the hunger becomes too much it can lead to your instincts overtaking your body: you lose all conscious thought and you just overindulge." When she saw my look of confusion she explained. "When I first changed, I was reluctant to hunt: I didn't want to hurt anyone. It got to a point where my survival instincts took over and I killed five people in one night. Lorenzo found me and comforted me but I was in a terrible state, it took me several months to recover from it." As she mused over her words as Rose glanced at the men talking. "I don't know what I would have done without him." Mia followed her gaze but felt her eyes drawn towards William. She knew how Rose felt. William had done so much for her that she knew that she would be eternally grateful. Her feelings for him had grown considerably since the night she had met him and she didn't want to imagine life without him. She couldn't imagine life without him. William's eyes suddenly met hers and a shock of electricity went through her. He was her mate. *** Lorenzo looked at the side of William's face before flicking his gaze to Mia's face. Ah. He moved his gaze to Rose's face and saw the glint in her eye as they shared a knowing look. Lorenzo cleared his throat and stood up, quickly followed by Rose. "I believe that it is time for us to leave." He nodded his head in both William and Mia's direction before offering Rose his hand. She grasped it before they left the room and ran home. All good things come to those that wait... Mia closed her eyes and absorbed the air around her. The wind whipped around her as she stood above civilisation and tried to calm her thoughts. She could feel William's eyes on the side of her face as she breathed in the scents around her. Opening her eyes, her eyes zeroed in on a place below in the town and her breath hitched. Her mouth watered as she sensed the man walking out of a gym. He was having a conversation on the phone. "Hi. No no, I didn't." He laughed. "No- she'd kill me. OK OK I give! Yes, I got her number but she did have huge tits. I'm a man: I have needs. Ah- I've got to go, I've just got a text through. Yeah, it's probably Kirsty complaining about the baby again. I seriously don't get what her problem is- I mean how hard can it be? Yeah, OK bye." She felt William's breath tickle her ear. "Go ahead, my love." He placed a tender kiss on my shoulder before she darted down towards the direction of her target. Her instincts grew more powerful as she got closer, the part of her that used reason fading into the back of her mind. Dropping into an alley, she waited for him to pass. His messy blonde hair was ruffled by the breeze and he swung his gym bag loosely over his shoulder. Checking the street, she yanked him into the alley and sank her fangs into his neck. She muffled his screams with her hand as she drew, savouring his flavour as it splashed over her tongue. As he went limp, Mia dropped him to the floor and sank back against the brick wall, savouring the rush that pumped through her system. Her lips tingled and she placed her fingertips on them to still their trembling. She sensed William enter the alley and opened her eyes. He barely glanced at the corpse before walking over to her and sweeping her hair back. "You're so beautiful when you hunt." She stroked she hand across his cheek before she reached forward and pulled him into a kiss. The kiss deepened as she felt him taste the blood on her tongue. He broke away and ran his nose up her neck to inhale her scent. Her eyes rolled back into her head as he kissed her pulse. "Please." Her voice was husky as she felt him nibble at the spot. Pressing himself against her, he sank his teeth into her skin and she gasped at the sudden pain. She was about to fight against it when he began to suck and the pain was replaced with pleasure. His hand moulded her breast as he drank and rolls of ecstasy washed through her. He pulled away and gazed into her eyes. She could hear his voice in her head. "Hello Mia." She gasped before he kissed her and she latched onto him. A need of a different kind took over and she pulled his face away and stared into his eyes. "I want you." His eyes smouldered before he grabbed her waist and the world around them started the shift. She blinked again and found them stood in his room. She looked around in shock. "I forgot you could do that." She admitted. He laughed. "Well I prefer to run." She was about to ask him how it was possible for him to teleport when his mind answered for her: age. Of course. His eyes searched hers. "Are you sure?" Mia nodded. "I've never been surer of anything in my life." With a groan he pulled her back to him and their mouths battled once again. He pulled her top off as she furiously tried to undo his buttons. He tore his shirt in half and she was about to thank him when he picked her up and carried her over to the bed, once again locking her mouth with his. He covered her skin in kisses as she clawed at his back. Her heart was hammering as he undid her bra before throwing the flimsy garment aside. "How I've wanted to taste you again." He murmured before lowering his head to lick her nipples. She cried out as his hot mouth captured its prize before running his hand over the other. "Please." She begged. "I want... I need..." He looked into her face and swept her hair back. "All in good time, love. All in good time." William trailed kisses down her stomach as she wriggled beneath him before he reached her shoes and pulled them off gently. She knelt on her elbows to watch him tug her jeans off before he stared hungrily at her underwear. Running his hand down her slit, she trembled. His eyes flickered to her to note her reaction before he began to suck at her red bit through the silk. She fell back and gripped the sheets and he gripped her thighs and licked her through the material. She could feel the underwear becoming drenched in her juices as he teased her before she felt him pull the underwear slip down her legs and he removed the ruined thong. He began to mercilessly penetrate her with his tongue and her back arched. She could hear how wet he was making her and feel Williams' pleasure and lust through the bond. As he inserted a finger into her, she felt her body clamp around it before he pumped it in and out building her higher and higher. As he inserted another digit and began to suck at her nub once more she climaxed. Sweat broke out over her skin as satisfaction filled her and her heart pounded inside her chest. She wanted to make him feel the same way. As William stood up, he read her mind. He cupped her cheek in my hand. "I appreciate the thought, my love, but if you do then I will not last." *** Pulling off his shoes and trousers, William stood between her thighs once more and gripped her hands. Placing them over her head, he slowly began to insert his stiff member. He saw her bite her lip as he entered her tight cavern before slowly forcing himself in deeper. His eyes captured hers. "Do you trust me?" He bright green eyes held onto his as she nodded. He bent over to kiss her and broke through her maidenhead quickly. She gasped from the pain and he felt shock run through her system. William placed his forehead against hers. "The pain will not last long: I promise." He shook as he allowed her to become accustomed to his size and when he felt her desire start to build up once more, he began to steadily thrust. She moaned as he rocked into her and he felt her squeeze his hands. Their eyes never left each others as he sensed what she needed. Urges racked him as he felt his orgasm start to build. She was so tight... Mia must have also sensed his approaching climax as she opened her legs wider. Her eyes sparkled. "Go for it." He pumped into her faster. As he felt his climax take over and his seed spill into her, he reached down and gently kissed her. "I love you." "I love you too." Mia whispered and as he collapsed beside her they both held each other in their arms before falling asleep. *** Jenny was clearing the kitchen when she heard a noise behind her. Turning, her eyes scanned the room anxiously only to find it empty. Gulping, she turned back and picked up the plates and walked over to place them in the sink. She felt a breath on her ear and dropped the plates causing them to smash against the tiles. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she faced yet another vacant room. Her body began to tremble as she looked around the kitchen and she crossed her arms before looking down at the mess on the floor. That was when she felt a hand twirl her hair. Struggling to suffocate the sobs that were trying to break free from her chest, Jenny carefully rotated to face the intruder. A tall woman with dark brown eyes and long dark brown smiled at her. If the woman's perfection hadn't warned Jenny of her vampirism than the sinister edge of the woman's grin would have given her away. The vampire leant closer and breathed in the air around Jenny before sighing in appreciation. "What a lovely aroma you have." She purred and Jenny felt tears fill her eyes. Setting her shoulders back she faced the woman head on. "C-can I help you, miss?" "Ah, aren't you sweet." She brushed her fingertips over Jenny's trembling lips. "What's your name?" "J-Jenny, miss." Her face came closer to Jenny's and her breathing accelerated. "Jenny." She seemed to test the name. "How much are you willing to do?" "Eva!" William's voice snapped through the tension and the woman in front of Jenny narrowed her eyes before glancing back at the angry vampire in the doorway. "William." "What do you think you are doing?" His voice was like acid and she saw Eva roll her eyes. "Me and Jenny were just having some fun: weren't we Jenny?" In a blink of an eyes William had his hand on Jenny's shoulder. She could hear the rumbling coming from his chest. "Leave, now!" Her eyes finally moved to his. "Fine. I could tell this one wouldn't be much entertainment anyway." With that she strutted away. Jenny sagged against William in relief as she left and he rubbed soothing circles into her back. "Are you well?" He asked her. She nodded weakly. "Yeah, she just scared me." William looked towards the doorway and exhaled loudly. "Stay away from her, she's dangerous." "I plan on doing." She admitted. "But what did she mean by 'fun'?" The look on William's face made her start to believe that she should never have asked: that she did not want to know the answer. "She likes to torment her victims mentally: to break them down." Jenny looked up at him in shock. "Hadn't you better warn the other servants?" He shook his head. "It's only the women she's interested in." "Why?" He looked down at her and she suddenly understood. "Ooh." *** Mia stretched like a cat when she woke up, feeling the pleasant soreness in her muscles. William walked into the room holding a tray and she grinned. "Can I expect this every morning?" He flashed a quick smile before his face fell again. "What's wrong?" She asked, shuffling over to his as he placed the breakfast down. She placed a hand on his shoulder and felt the tension there. He squeezed her hand and sighed. "It is nothing, I'm thinking." Love Bite Ch. 08 Mia began to massage his back and heard him moan in gratitude. "You're always thinking." "True..." He admitted. As she continued to work the knots out of his muscles, she felt him begin to relax until a crash interrupted their solitude. He groaned in annoyance. "What NOW?" Lorenzo burst into the room. Mia pulled the duvet up higher to cover herself and felt her cheeks flame as William stood up. "Lorenzo, what is the meaning of this?" He was panting like a mad- man. "It's the Brennan tribe- they've broken into the manor." In a shot William was issuing orders and turned to face Mia. "Get dressed and get away from the manor, I will find you after- Lorenzo, go and protect the servants, have them all gather into the kitchen and guard the door, I will go and talk to their leader." In the next moment they were gone and Mia was wrestling on her clothes. Her heart was hammering in her head. What the hell was happening? She had just shoved on her shoes and was about to leave the room when she heard footsteps approach. Panicking, she ripped the wardrobe doors open and clambered in only to have the door open a second later and calm footsteps enter. Mia held her breath and waited. Her eyes were wide and her knees shook but she forced herself to remain silent as she prayed that the scent of William's clothes would mask her smell. The only disadvantage was that meant she couldn't smell the stranger. "Mia?" A familiar voice called. "William sent me- it's Lucias." His voice sounded shaken and hoarse as if he had been shouting. She carefully opened the door. "Lucias?" He saw her and his eyes widened. "Mia! We have to get out of here." He offered her his hand but she refused to take it. She looked at him sceptically. "William never told me that he was sending you." "Mia, there isn't time- look you have to trust me: just for now! I know a way out." She shook my head. "I'll find my own way out." Something in his eyes changed and he grabbed her throat and pinned her against the wall. She scratched at his hands but to no avail. "You really should have trusted me." *** The tribe had managed to get into the heart of the building. William was only just able to hold them back from entering the servant's quarter and even then he was becoming more and more injured. Vampires from all around the community were hurriedly making their way towards the manor but he wondered if they would be able to make it in time. It was clear from the murderess intent in their eyes what they wanted: his and Jenny's death. It was the tribe that her previous lover had belonged to and they would not be satisfied until him and Jenny had suffered to most painful of murders. William fought on, grappling with vampire after vampire as they swarmed around him but his energy was soon fading. He had heard Lorenzo's eagerness to assist him but he had ordered his friends to stay with the servants. The Brennan tribe was winning. At least Mia was safe... He felt her pain run through him even before he felt her anguished cry. She was hurt? A new- found fury overwhelmed him and he fought with a new vengeance. He had to look after her- he had promised! 'I have searched centuries for you and now it is my mission to care for you, to teach you where your creator so horrifically failed and to love you.' He heard an explosion from outside the manor and his attention was drawn away momentarily. Vampires began to enter the building and fight by his side. He greeted one before he ran towards his room. "Where are you going?" Harry asked. "My mate- I have to save her!" *** Mia gasped as she felt Lucias' fingers dig into her throat. "Why?" "It is nothing personal I assure you: no, consider yourself a means to an end." She tried to breath in more air but winced when she was unable to consume any. "I don't plan on killing you, Mia. Oh no you are far too beautiful for that- but I do intend to use you to make William suffer. You see, William has managed to humiliate me far too many times and let me tell you, Mia, I don't like it." "Why use the Brennan tribe?" William's voice filled the room and Mia looked towards him in hope. "Ah, William." Lucias beamed. "How nice of you to join us. The Brennan tribe you ask? Well we have a lot in common. We are both interested in what happens to dear Jenny and we both want our revenge on you." "Has all of this become about because of your ego, Lucias?" "Well, yes, I do believe it has." William looked towards Mia. "Let her go: it is me that you want to conflict harm upon." "Now now William! I thought you were more intelligent than that. The best way to make you suffer is to make her suffer because of you. The entire mates situation is all very predictable." William growled. "Are you not capable of fighting a male, Lucias? Is the only way you can succeed by torturing women?" Lucias eyes narrowed. "Of course I can." "Well then I invite you to prove it." Lucias dropped Mia to the floor and she gasped a lungful of precious air before looking towards the two fighting men. William was weak: she could tell that. His impeccable reactions were slower than usual and he seemed to stumble slightly. His opponent, in a manoeuvre so fast, left blood running down William's face and causing red to stain the impeccable cream carpet. They battled on until William began to droop and Mia felt tears began to roll down her face. "I do believe you are losing-" As Lucias began to gloat, his guard dropped and William grabbed his head and twisted. An ugly crack filled the room before Lucias' dead body dropped to the floor: limp. William hobbled over to her and she grabbed him just as he was about to fall. "William! Stay with me William!" "I just need time," He panted. "To heal." She kissed his lips, his head, his cheeks. "I will give you all the time in the world." He smiled faintly just as Lorenzo walked in grinning. William opened his eyes weakly. "Are they gone." He nodded. "All are dead." "And Jenny?" "Safe." He sighed. "Good." Lorenzo laughed. "I guess you finally gained your wish?" Mia frowned. "What wish?" "He always DID want to get rid of the bastard." As Lorenzo's laughter filled the room, Mia lowered her head to Williams' ear. "I love you." "And I love you, Mia, forever and always." The End OK, I hope you liked it and I haven't disappointed anyone. Please let me know what you think! Love love! Raven Moon x
