I didn't like how the old one was turning out; it wasn't exactly going in the direction I wanted it to be in. So! I hope you all like this one better. It's the first chapter, and the second will be out right after. I'm sorry to you all for the wait; I'm going to try a lot harder to fit in time for writing. Plus I'm much more passionate about the story now that I know where it's going, so I'll have a couple more chapters out really soon. Hugs and Kisses to you all for being so awesome and patient with me! - Torrance Rose A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 01 He could feel her hardened nipples pushed up against his chest as a hand snaked down to the front of his pants, softly caressing the bulge of his manhood as she whispered softly to him, "I've missed you..." Her practised hands slowly unzipped his pants, reaching in, her eyes widening as she found he wore no briefs, before a seductive smile settled over her lips. She slowly began to stroke his throbbing cock with exquisite preciseness, a knowing look in her eyes as he hardened beneath her manipulations. Rafe groaned softly, closing his eyes as he let the distraction wash over him. "Take me, Rafe..." Delani's husky voice broke through the silence. His eyes snapped open, and he lowered his face to look down at her. Yes, he could take her. Easily. But he didn't want her. Not a bone in his body had ever desperately ached for her the way Liesel DuBorque was now making him feel. He sighed softly, pulling back from her embrace as he did his pants back up. "I can't. I'm sorry Delani, you should leave." Her eyes, so soft and seductive only moments ago flashed brightly with anger, "What the fuck do you mean, you can't?" The harsh whip of her voice slapped across his face, obviously she was not accustomed to rejection. "I mean, that I can't and I won't." He replied as if talking to a child. Her pretty face grew furious, marred by angry frowns she hissed, "You have no idea what you're doing!" "Actually, I know exactly what I'm doing. Please leave." He replied, his tone remaining polite yet dismissive, effectively ending their conversation. He cocked an eyebrow as he stared half-amused at her petty, childish sulking. Whisking around, she stalked from the room, her fury crackling in the air like electricity. She stopped only to pause at the door. "You'll come back to me. They always do." Raphael rolled his eyes at her dramatics, every fibre in his body completely doubting what she'd just stated. Turning around, he walked swiftly towards one of the luxurious cream-coloured couches, raking his fingers through his hair as he felt a particularly painful headache coming on. What on earth had come over him... Ever since he had looked upon that mysterious woman, he had eyes only for her. His mind continuously tortured by thoughts of running his hands down her silky ivory skin, letting loose the pins holding up her hair and feel as the masses of white gold tresses cascaded over his fingers. God, to press his mouth to those luscious peach coloured lips... With a tortured groan, he gave in to himself. He would have Liesel DuBorque even if it killed him. A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 02 Yay the second chapter! I'm sending these first three out one after another so they should all be out pretty close together. Let me know what you think, I'm happy to receive constructive criticism! Again, thankyou so much for all your support. It really is something I look forward to. Lots of Love, - Torrance Rose A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 02 "Angel," a furious and deadly voice came from behind the man's massive form, "I believe the Lady said she wished to leave." The dark haired man's eyes fell shut with a groan and he breathed in deeply, lifting his head from Liesel's neck as he did so and looking like he'd just received a bad headache. "Angel," The stranger warned, "Let her go." It wasn't a request, it was a command. Liesel winced softly as the grip the man had on her arm tightened, before he released her and stepped back, rolling his eyes like a teenager who'd just found out they were grounded for the week. Liesel's eyes dropped to her feet and she clutched the glass of champagne tight to her chest, frightened and confused over what had just occurred. "Yes, sir." The man, Angel's, condescending voice came from somewhere above her, before he whispered softly in her ear, "I really do hope we'll have the good luck of meeting again, querida." She listened to the sound of his malicious silky laughter and retreating footsteps as he walked back amidst the oblivious crowd. She was still looking down, too nervous to lock eyes with the man who'd just admittedly rescued her, before the same deep voice now coloured with concern asked her softly, "Are you okay, did he hurt you Liesel -- Uh, I mean Ms. DuBorque?" She recognized that voice all to well... Her eyes flitted up to his face, the same face she'd been day dreaming about constantly for the past week, and a feverish blush spread across her pale cheeks. "You!" she exclaimed in surprise, her violet eyes widening. "Yes, me." He said, chuckling softly and giving her time to once more appraise his god-like body. His tall, muscled frame was dressed in what seemed to be the popular ball room style in the mid 1800's. His black formal coat was open; the stylish white cravat tied loosely, giving him a rakish look. His raven black hair had been combed back, but it wouldn't stay. It fell over his temples and about his neck. His expression thrilled her. He was shocked about her appearance, no doubt about it. She'd been shocked as well, so she understood why he could do nothing but stare. But after a few moments of awkward silence, his eyes hungrily travelling up the length of her body, she cleared her throat uncomfortably. "Well..." she began, slowly bringing her eyes up to his, "Thankyou." He laughed and smiled crookedly down at her, the sight made her breath catch in her throat. He was too damn beautiful to be real. "You're very welcome. But you haven't answered my question, are you okay?" "Um, sure. I mean yeah, I guess. As fine as anyone could be after an experience like that." She laughed awkwardly. He suppressed a low growl in the back of his throat, looking down at her in concern, "Are you sure you don't need anything, anything at all?" "What?" the question startled her, and a million different things, all involving deviously sexual acts of what she wanted, no needed from him, rushed into her mind. Blushing, she quickly answered, "No, no. I'm fine, really. I actually had better be going..." she trailed off, raising her eyes to his before laughing nervously. "Bye, and thankyou again Mr. Black." She stuttered, blushing furiously and cursing herself for being such a fool. Feeling light-headed she quickly turned from him and began walking back into the crowd, wobbling slightly on her feet from the encounter as every fibre of her being screamed for her to turn back around. A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 02 "Gods!" a female voice exclaimed from the doorway before growling indignantly, "Please Rafe, let me know beforehand the next time you bring another one of your floozy's up here." Followed by the sharp click of the door closing. Liesel had no trouble getting up now, instead of shoving against him she curled her fist into a ball and smacked it into the side of his face. Rafe howled and leapt up off of her, his hand cupping the smarting flesh on his cheek. "What the bloody hell did you do that for?" he growled, more shocked that a woman -- a human woman -- had actually just hit him then anything else. She didn't bother replying, just sprang up from the couch quickly, almost running to the door before hissing back at him, "I don't want any favours from you, Mr. Black." And slamming the door closed. She was more than humiliated at this point, letting Kerrington know she was leaving -- she barely noticed, too caught up in some man feeding her strawberries dipped in chocolate -- and taking a cab home. Later that night, after she'd gotten out of her constricting outfit, had a nice, hot shower and was curled up comfortably in her bed, she thought back on what had occurred. She couldn't believe how ridiculously idiotic she'd been. The woman's voice calling her another one of his floozy's, her, kept reverberating through her mind. How could she have thought he was any different? Of course to him she was just another sex toy, made to please and nothing else. But still, she couldn't get that life-altering kiss out of her mind... A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 03 Chapter Three, let me know what you all think! - Torrance Rose A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 03 He needed to lie down. He needed some fresh air. He needed to talk to his father. A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 03 She laughed nervously, her breath catching her throat as she realised how very near to a bed they were right now, and completely alone. His thumb began to caress the palm of her hand gently, and she stifled a moan of need, disguising it as cough as she backed away quickly, pulling her hand from his grip. "So about that shower." She broke in loudly, attempting to divert his attention to anything else as he slowly ambled over to her, a mischievous grin settling over his incredibly handsome features. She began to back away further until she hit something hard, her legs buckling beneath her as she fell backwards onto the massive bed. She looked up in surprise, scrambling further away from Rafe as he came to the edge, her heart beating wildly as she felt a rush of heat spread from her loins. "What are you doing?" she whispered, fighting against the huskiness in her voice as he crawled slowly towards her, pushing her back against the fur covers so she was laying beneath him. "Do you have any idea," he whispered in a tortured groan, running his nose slowly along her neck and breathing in deeply, "How badly I want you?" This time she couldn't stifle the low moan as it broke from her lips at his words, his fingers lightly caressing her bare thighs, trailing them higher as he spoke softly in her ear. "I can't think clearly whenever I'm near you," he was murmuring, nibbling softly on her earlobe, "You're killing me." His hands began to explore up her long legs, his intentions growing rougher and wilder as he dug his nails into her thighs, pulling her roughly against his body before his mouth devoured hers. She groaned deliriously as his tongue delved into her mouth, his lips roughly caressing hers. She could feel his desperate need as his hands travelled roughly along her body, tearing at her flimsy garment in his feverish attempt to feel her naked body against his. Before she succumbed to his temptation, desperately now as she could feel herself being tugged into a place of no return, she shoved hard against his chest. He broke the kiss almost straight away, looking down at her in confusion. "Stop!" she gasped out, trying to catch her breath and ignore the heated pulsing in her core, using all her strength not to wrap her legs around his waist and bring his lips down to hers once more, "We can't do this Rafe." "Why?" he asked her, his voice husky with desire. It was a simple question, and had her groaning for him once more. "Because..." she trailed off, staring transfixed at his lips and holding back another soft moan, she bit down on her bottom lip roughly to stifle it. He grinned down at her, "Because...?" When she didn't answer, he slowly ran his hand up her side to her scantily clad breast, teasing her as he softly rubbed his thumb against her swollen nipple. He stifled the gasp of lust from her with his lips, kissing her heatedly, passionate. When he sensed she needed air he pulled back, only to press his lips to her neck and trail soft kisses down to her collarbone. "Please, Rafe," she moaned, her breathing erratic and uneven as he slipped his hands beneath the torn dress and grinning wolfishly at the fact that his mate wasn't even wearing a bra, "We have to stop. Please." He groaned softly into her neck, his erection straining against his dark jeans painfully. He wanted her, but there was no way in hell that he was going to take her without her consent. He wanted to please her, to love her, not frighten her. He pulled back slowly, his eyes apologetic as he took in her lusty expression, her eyes glazed over and her cheeks flushed becomingly. "I'm sorry..." he murmured, he would've been ashamed with himself if he thought she didn't enjoy it, and there was no denying that she did with the moans of pleasure he'd emancipated from her lips. "I got carried away," He admitted, pulling back from her and helping her up and off the luxurious bed, "It won't happen again." He could've imagined the small, dejected sigh that passed her lips, but still he couldn't help the impish grin from tugging at the corner of his mouth. After catching their breath, he led her into the adjoining en suite, turning the taps on to fill the huge stone tub as he spoke to her. "I'll leave you here for the day. You can clean yourself up and everything. I'll have some clothes out on the bed for you when you're done, and you can rest for a while. I'll be busy most of the day anyway, but I'll come back for you in the afternoon. Make sure you stay inside my quarters. I don't want the others to get wind of you just yet. Oh and help yourself to anything in the kitchen, and if you get bored then feel free to put something on TV." She managed to take in everything he said as she stared transfixed at the bubbling water pouring out of the jets of the spa bath and into the hollowed floor. Liesel watched him cross over to the vanity table, rummaging around in the cupboard underneath and drawing out a thick, fluffy white towel and hanging it on the towel rack. "Don't worry about a thing, you need to rest okay? I'll leave the clothes out on the bed." He said, smiling warmly down at her as she stood nervously by the spa bath, desperately holding on to the tattered remains of her dress. She looked fragile and frightened. A bit like a lost puppy. "You're safe here, Liesel." She nodded shyly, and watched as he pulled across a screen over the intricate stone archway. The bath was filled quickly, the hot water scented with lavender and sweet smelling blossoms. She stood up and slid her dress down her slender curves, pooling it at her feet before hesitantly removing the bandages around her flat stomach. She couldn't even feel a sting of pain as she unravelled the many layers, releasing a strange, pungent odour of herbs and spices into the air. Eyes filled with shock and confusion, she stared down at where the small incision was supposed to be; instead all that was left was a small, puckered scar. She prodded gently at it, but felt no sharp stab of pain at all. It was almost as if it had never happened. She wondered curiously what was to explain for this, and came to the conclusion that Tanis must have lied to her. She must have been unconscious for more than just a day... there was no possible explanation as to why she could have healed so quickly other than that. Grumbling in anger, Liesel wrapped the fluffy towel around her naked form and rushed to the screen, pulling it back sharply with the intention of giving Rafe an earful, but finding herself cut short as the room was empty. Sliding the screen back across the moonlit bedroom, Liesel promised herself that when she next saw Rafe she'd be asking him about this. Well, more like demanding him about this. But since there was nothing more she could do about her situation at the moment, she turned her mind to the task at hand. Taking a step into the luxurious bath, Liesel relaxed almost instantly as she felt the tension drain out of her, sighing in content as she slid further into the warm waters until she was converged all the way up to her shoulders. For a few moments she rested in silence, laying her head against the stone marble sides as she let the water caress her body. A few minutes later she set about to cleaning the dirt off her skin and through her hair. After she was satisfied with her wash, feeling clean and relaxed she wrapped the towel around her body, her hair dripping down her back, and padded back into the bedroom. Folded neatly on the end of the magnificent bed was a pair of artfully faded skinny jeans, a white long-sleeved cotton shirt and matching, lacy white underwear. She quickly pulled on the clothes; they fit her perfectly, and began to vigorously dry her long, wavy hair with the towel. She wished she had her leather jacket with her, her brother had given it to her on her 16th birthday and she always referred to it as her 'lucky' jacket. It made her feel safe. Her stomach grumbled uncomfortably and so she decided to explore her confined space for a while, making her way out into the lounge room and kitchen to help herself to some food. After making herself a sandwich in the pristine, marble kitchen she walked back out into the lounge room, setting her now empty plate on top of the glass coffee table and crawling across the thick, fluffy white carpet towards Rafe's extensive DVD collection. She grabbed the first movie she could see, putting it into the DVD player and crawling back to the plush couches, settling herself comfortably amidst the many cushions and fur rugs as 'Moulin Rouge' flashed across the screen. The soft murmur of the movie and the comfortable position she was in, covered in fur and silk, had her lulled to sleep in only a few minutes. Tonight, she thought as she fought against the pull of bliss, I'll get my answers tonight. Before she succumbed to the tug of darkness and fell into a peaceful slumber. A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 04 FINALLY! Chapter Four is done! All I have to say is – I am so sorry for the wait! And thank you for being so incredibly patient! Don't forget to comment and let me know what you think, and to all of you who have yet to read my edited chapters, a word of advice: Go back and read them, because you won't understand most of this chapter otherwise! With Love, - Torrance Rose x Rafe had come back to his quarters to find an adorable sleeping Liesel curled up on his sofa, with the main menu of Moulin Rouge repeatedly replaying on the screen of his TV. Switching off the television, Rafe knelt beside the sleeping beauty. She looked so serene when sleeping; all signs of stress or worry wiped clean. Rafe gently slid his arms beneath her, lifting her up and cradling her to his chest as he walked into his bedroom. He wouldn't have her sleeping on a couch when there was a far more comfortable and preferable place to sleep. Placing her delicately amidst his furs and Egyptian cotton sheets, Rafe brushed her silky hair behind her ear and contemplated changing her into something more comfortable. He was sure she could wear one of his shirts as a make-shift nightgown. He was huge in comparison to her slender frame, and knew she'd be dwarfed in anything of his. Deciding she might feel offended by him undressing her in sleep – humans were so strange and constricting concerning privacy – Rafe decided against it, instead wrapping a thick fur blanket around her. After pulling off his shirt and changing into a pair of loose navy sweatpants, Rafe slid beside his sleeping Liesel, pulling her against his stomach until he was spooning her. She unconsciously curled into his embrace, causing a sleepy smile to tug at the corner of his lips. A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 04 "Am I supposed to believe the man I don't even know who kidnaps me, holds me captive and then tells me he has some magical claim over me? How gullible do you think I am? "And how on earth do you plan on explaining this?!" Liesel pulled the thin cotton shirt up to expose the pale, toned flesh of her stomach, "Please, try. I'm dying to see what kind of bullshit you think I'll believe next." Rafe sighed, groaning softly in frustration as he rested his head back against the wall, pulling himself together. If she couldn't believe what she herself felt, then there was no way she'd believe what he had to say next. "We are not cultists, Liesel. We all just... belong to a pack. We are not human. We are... We are lycans. Werewolves. Half man, half wolf. You healed over the span of a day because Tanis, who tended you, is a witch. Specifically, a healer. She healed you. My father is Alpha to this pack; my brother is soon to be the next Alpha. I am a Beta. In simpler terms, I guess I'm second best. Although... both my brother and I were born as Alphas. Since he is the eldest, he will be our future pack leader. I have been following you because my wolf recognised you as our rightful mate. We are bonded, permanently. You think you have it bad? Your attraction and need for me is only a tenth of what I feel. I am constantly in pain and restraint when I am near you, and being away from you is even more unbearable. My wolf will be restless, volatile, and extremely dangerous until we are mated. And you will mate me Liesel. Don't think I won't stoop to force." Liesel could only stare in complete shock at Rafe. Her mouth was hanging open but she didn't care. Was this guy serious...? She wanted to laugh at him, to tell him he was insane. Completely nuts. But he looked so sincere... A big part of her couldn't help believing every word he had just said, even as logic screamed at her that it was impossible. In the end, logic won out. No matter how sincere he sounded, no matter that he obviously truly believed what he'd just said, Liesel just hadn't been programmed to believe it when crazy stalkers told her she was their mate and they were part of a clan of werewolves and witches. "Um, Mr. Black. I think you need help." His next reaction completely took her off guard, and further instilled the insane image she had of him in her head. Instead of fighting for her to believe him, he threw back his head and laughed. Hysterically. When he appeared to have finally finished, he locked his eyes with hers and took her hand. "Come with me." "Come with you? I don't think so. I don't follow the crazy person's orders." She scoffed, pulling her arm from his grip. He chuckled, holding his hand out for her to take. "Please, I want to show you something." Curiosity got the better of her, and she found herself tentatively placing her hand in his much larger one. Following behind him silently, he took her through the mansion, meeting only the occasional person who would dip their head respectfully in acknowledgment of the couple as they passed. Rafe led her down a few floors, eventually heading to a set of huge French windows, not unlike the ones in her bedroom but more than twice their size and grandeur. Through the glass panes, she looked out onto the dark grounds of his estate. Pulling the doors open, he took her outside into the warm night air and down a massive set of stone steps. Passing a huge neon shining pool where two bodies were joined in embrace, and what looked like a Romanesque hot tub. Liesel blushed and averted her eyes from the couple converged in passion. Their heated moans sending thrills of veiled pleasure through her body. Rafe ignored the act as if it was nothing, instead pulling her down a second set of stairs, this one more discreet and winding off toward the left of the house. He led her through mazes of flowering bushes and elegant trees planted purposefully to make up a gorgeous garden, and towards a rose entwined gazebo about a hundred feet away. "Rafe what's going on? This place is beautiful..." An elaborate fountain bubbled merrily in the shade of a weeping willow and hundreds of blossoming flowers. The night sky shed an eerie glow upon the picture, but she had no time to soak in the beauty of the place. Rafe meant business and he was almost forcefully dragging her towards the gazebo half hidden in shadows. "Just trust me." "Says the guy who abducted me." He laughed and took her arm, gingerly helping her up the stairs of the gazebo as if she was some fragile wisp of air that'd blow away any second. It annoyed her immensely, his creepy gentlemen-like behaviour. She ripped her arm from his and stormed up the stairs into the gazebo, whipping back around to face him and crossing her arms over her chest. "Well, what do you want?" He smirked, lifting a brow as he rested his huge form against the wooden posts. "I want to show you something... I'm not messing with you Liesel. And I'm not insane or brainwashed either." He said, his eyes never once wavering from hers. She almost had chills from how intense he looked at that moment. She gulped and mentally shook her head, closing her eyes and taking a step back from him. "Go on then Rafe, show." A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 05 Hey guys, here's the newest chapter to AWUL! Sorry for the long wait again, I had finals and ended up having to cram hard. But it's all over now! Hope you like the new chapter, let me know what you all think! - T © Torrance Rose. This work is intended only for viewing purposes. Do not redistribute. A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 05 "This place sure is pretty though." Her brother murmured under his breath, passing through the gates as they automatically opened from the command of the guard station positioned beside it and driving out into the forest, the trees creating a hazy green arch above their heads. After about half an hour of reflective silence, Edouard glanced toward Liesel who seemed to be dozing off with her head resting against the window. "I'm sorry I got angry Leece. I was just worried, and mom has really been freaking out... I'm so relieved you're okay." He said with a sad smile as he brushed her blonde waves tenderly behind her ear. "You're my baby sister and it's my job to protect you. I should have come with you..." "Don't beat yourself up, it's my fault and I know it. I really shouldn't have been so reckless. I'm just really lucky Rafe was there... I don't know what would have happened if he hadn't been." She trailed off sleepily, shivering from the thought before adding teasingly, "And hey, I'm only your baby sister by a minute and a half. Don't forget that mister." He laughed warmly, eyes focused on the road as he said, "Yeah, yeah. I guess I owe him thanks then. So what happened Leece? You still haven't told me." "I said I'd tell you when we got home Edouard, I'm not about to repeat the same conversation to Elizabeth right after this." She reminded him. "Fine, then tell me about this Rafe guy. You've never mentioned him before, and you usually tell me everything. Who is he?" Edouard probed, chuckling at her groan of annoyance. "He's just some guy I met from work." She answered vaguely, much to Edouard's irritation. "He must be more than some guy, to take such care of you. Come on, I'm your brother. Who is he?" Edouard demanded, "And don't even try to change the subject. I'm not giving up until I get some answers on this." A prolonged sigh followed before Liesel stretched uncomfortably in her seat and sat up, pulling her legs beneath her and twisting to face her brother. "Okay, his name is Raphael Black. I met him when I went to deliver some files for my boss a few weeks ago. He's the youngest son of this incredibly rich family. And Edouard, I'm talking cover of Forbes type of rich." Edouard whistled low and long before Liesel continued on, "After that little encounter, I bumped into him at a masquerade ball I went to with Kerrington. He sort of rescued me from the creepy advances of some guy who wouldn't leave me alone. I don't really know much about him at all really..." She hesitated, eyes flitting from her brother to the passing cars on the highway. "He's nice though. For a rich, arrogant jerk that is." Edouard glanced at his sister, watching curiously as her eyes glazed over, lost in her thoughts. "You like him." He stated matter of factly. Liesel laughed nervously, brushing off his comment as she positioned herself more comfortably in her seat. "He's an ass Edouard. I don't like him at all." Edouard smiled inwardly, wondering why his sister would be lying to him. A Wolf's Unbridled Lust Ch. 05 Liesel was in rapture, her eyes wide and solely focused on her mother's words. She could feel Edouard beside her, his attention just as fixed as hers. "Hunted and coveted by the undead, our kind has been in hiding ever since." Elizabeth finished sadly. "But why are you out in the open then?" Edouard questioned, "Why aren't we hiding too?" "My magic was taken from me long ago," Elizabeth sighed, "I've been a human ever since." "Why was it taken from you?" Liesel asked curiously before Edouard had a chance. Elizabeth smiled softly, "I fell in love with a human. Your father." "Dad? But why would your magic be taken away because of that?" Liesel probed. "Love with a mortal was forbidden, as decreed by the Elders. They wanted to keep our bloodlines going, and to mix blood with the humans would dilute us further. It was practical I suppose. But I was young and in love, I ignored their laws and warnings and went behind my family's backs." "What happened?" Edouard asked in awe. "I was caught. My father, your grandfather, was the Fae King of our coven and I'd been promised to a prince of another coven since birth who'd suspected my infidelity when I refused marriage. He followed me to your father's house and witnessed us together. I was only 16..." She murmured, "By Elders law I was stripped of my magic and banished from our lands, never to see my loved ones again. Little did they know, I'd already conceived two beautiful Fae children within my womb. "Your father and I bought a house together, began to create a life. I gave myself a maiden name, Williams, as I was too young to marry. You were both only a year old when we were attacked. Vampires, of course. We ran, and ran. Two years of your lives was spent constantly running from these monsters. I knew it was taking its toll on your father, and that I had to do something. While he was sleeping I took the two of you to a Witch I'd only ever heard of by reputation. She cast a binding spell to bury your magic until you reached 25. 25 is the year of ascension for all Fae, and no magic could stop that but stripping your powers altogether. Something nobody but the Elder Fae know how to do. On the first full moon after your 25th birthday you will ascend to your powers and the Vampires will inevitably come for you. It's why I was so afraid Liesel... They could have easily kidnapped you. Your magic is boiling beneath the surface, I'm sure if a Vampire was old enough and close enough they could sense it. "Anyway, I was so afraid for your father. I told him the only way I could keep him safe was if I left. He argued, refused to let me. I left him a note, telling him I would always love him but that this was for the best, and escaped to a tiny remote town. The town you both grew up in," She smiled warmly at the two, "I did this all for your protection... I was so scared that maybe the binding hadn't worked, and of course I couldn't actually test it out and see. I had to leave your father for that exact reason. He deserved a normal life. When you were 17 I heard news through a Witch Doctor that a Vampire was in our town. I immediately packed us up and that's when I decided for a life in America. Your father never forgave me... And for a while he didn't stop searching for us. As you both know it was only in recent years that I've let you have contact with him. It's safe now, that he has a wife and everything." Liesel was shocked. Her mother had been through so much... She'd broken her own heart to keep the people she loved safe. Even though Elizabeth put on a brave face, Liesel could feel the pain emanating from her. Crossing to the other couch, she wrapped a comforting arm around her mother, who'd always been somewhat of a sister to her rather than a mom. "I'm sorry," Liesel whispered as Edouard crossed to the other side and held their mother's hand, "You've sacrificed so much for us." "It was worth it Leece," Elizabeth chuckled, wiping a tear that had escaped from her eyes. "I've raised two beautiful children and watched them grow up into incredible people because of it." Liesel smiled and hugged her mother tightly, grateful she had someone like her in her life. "Wait," Her brother asked suddenly, "Is this why you have white hair?" Liesel and her mother both looked at each other before bursting into peals of laughter. "What?" He asked incredulously, "You've had it for as long as I can remember, I've always wondered why!" Elizabeth smiled, "Sort of. Stripping my powers drained the colour from my hair. It was once just as blonde as yours." She chuckled, tugging her son's hair playfully. "Ouch!" He had complained, retaliating by scruffing up Elizabeth's perfectly styled hair. This had resulted in a tackling war which had them all laughing hysterically. Liesel rolled out of bed, wrapping her thin cotton dressing gown around herself as she padded softly to the old computer on her desk. After logging on, she thrummed her fingers against the mouse impatiently as she waited for the internet to connect. Damn dial-up connection. When was her mother ever going to update this thing? The second Google popped up, Liesel typed in one word. "Vila." An array of sites were listed down the page, a few of them mentioning something about Harry Potter. Ignoring them, she clicked on the Wikipedia link to "Slavic Faeries". Liesel needed to know more about the creature she apparently was. Her violet eyes skimmed the page as she read through the information, demanding to know more. She read that Vila lived in the wilderness, that they had the ability to appear as animals. Vila were fierce warriors, with healing and prophetic gifts and the power to control storms when angered. They lure men and women into dance, and hunt with a bow and arrow.
