35 comments/ 61869 views/ 4 favorites Hutch's Property Ch. 01 By: bucksilver This story is based on a set of true events that went down in the spring of last year. I started writing it as as they were happening. The story was completed when the couple involved came for a visit during Christmas. Of course, the names have been changed and the location changed to the Mid-Atlantic coast.     Yes, he had a deposition that had caused him to miss another open house. This time it was his daughter's senior year in high school. Their third and last child, it was the last school open house that he would be expected to attend until they had grandchildren. Norman A. "Hutch" Hutchinson, Attorney at Law and Certified Public Accountant listened to his wife go on and on about how he had missed almost all of their children's school events. It was the usual spiel he had heard incessantly over the last six months about how he was an absentee father and not a very attentive husband. Lately, since she was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Sports the look about her and tone of voice was almost condescending. As if she really didn't need him around anymore. "I told you about it two weeks ago. I know I did." stated Lorna, emphatically. "Oh I'm sure you did." responded Hutch. "Some where between your text messages and phone calls. If you would turn that damn cell phone off , we might be able to actually communicate." Hutch glanced at his watch, then continued, "It's only ten thirty in the evening. Isn't there someone out there that just has to get in contact with the District's Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Sports?" Lorna stood in the middle of the bedroom, arms crossed over her chest, legs spread slightly, glaring at him, "No worse than your practice. I can remember when calls you just had to take when we were out to an anniversary dinner." Hutch, a pillar of self control calmly asked, "That's why I turn mine off when I get home. How about yours? Is it on or off, right now?" She continued to glare at him thinking, "Yes it is on and I will take it into the bathroom with me tomorrow morning because I know that the calls and text messages will start at about six am." Then she stamped her foot and raising her voice said, "Damn it, I don't know why I even try to discuss anything with you, the accomplished trial lawyer. I see more of you in the newspapers and on T.V. with your clashes of corporate titans than I do here at home. So, forget it, let's go to bed." In bed, he lay on his back and went to sleep. She lay on her side, facing him. Stretching one arm out over his chest, she whispered, "I do love you, Norm. I just wish you would place me and the kids on a higher priority. Twenty five years of marriage, a wildly successful practice, can't you give us a little more of your time." Then she drifted of to sleep. Tuesday Morning As Hutch drove into work that next morning, he thought about his wife's overall attitude over the last six months. Especially over the last five weeks or so since her promotion. She seemed almost like a different person, as if he were living with a stranger. And the sex, it was just that, sex. It had been six months since they really had fun making love to each other and the sex was simply the wonderful conclusion of a great time together. Lately, he would give her enough foreplay to get wet and she would suck him up. Then, he would shove it in and pound away. She would lay there until he was done and that was it. Once in a while she would get into it and go orgasmic. But that had not happened since she was in the running for the position she now held. "Could she be having an affair? Is there someone else? Then his thoughts turned introspective, "She doesn't give me much reason to get into foreplay. Not like it once was...What's happening to that sweet Georgia peach I married a quarter century in the past?" Stepping into the elevator of the building where his law offices were located, Hutch almost hit the button for the top floor and to his office. He changed his mind and pressed the button for the floor below his level. On this particular floor was the office the man Hutch called their "IT executive." Fred Smith, actually one of Hutch's staff attorneys, was also a very accomplished computer hacker. Since joining the firm ten years ago, he had brought them firmly into the computer age and kept them on the cutting edge of technology. According to the retired government agents Hutch had hired into his forensic audit department, their computer networks were as good or better than any government agency. Knowing that Freddie was a single man and was one of the first to show up in the morning, Hutch was not surprised to find him in his office, "Hey Freddie, how ya doin' this morning?" "I'm just great, boss. How are you?" "I'm alright, I guess. Ah Freddie? On email? Ah, can you get into email accounts?" "Oh sure. Who's?" "My wife's!" "Lorna?!? Ah, boss? Why would you need to do that?" "She's been acting strangely different over the last six months, or so. Lately, she's given me reason to believe that there is someone else." "You think she's having an affair??" asked a astounded Freddie. Hutch gazed at Freddie for a few moments. He had hoped that he could make it through life without ever having the concerns about his wife that he had at that time, "I don't, ah, I don't know for sure yet, Freddie. Ah, you've got to keep everything I say to yourself right now. It is just between you and me. If there is nothing there, then I don't want Lorna to know that I was checking up on her.. Ah, can you get into past emails, sent and received, even if they are deleted?" "Oh yeah, boss, unless she has taken some steps that most people don't even know about. But, I'd haveta get into her computer..." "OK. How about tracking down the person behind an email account?" "Oh yeah. I've taught people up in the forensics department how to do that and a lot of other stuff I learned from the retired FBI and CIA agents you have on staff." "Yeah Freddie, that's right, you have. Ya know? You are a real asset to this firm." "Thank you, sir." "I mean it, Freddie. Look when we get passed all this, I'll make sure your help and silence is rewarded." "Ah, you don't haveta do that, sir. It's compensation enough knowing that I've helped out the number one man around here." "Well, that's alright for now. I'll tell you what. I am going to go round up a couple of bugs. Then about eleven this morning, let's go spend some time on her computer. I'd like to bug the room where it is located and the kitchen. I have watched her speak in low tones on her cell phone in both of those rooms." "Well boss, I think it would be better if we went to a shop I know of where you can buy everything you will need to do what you want to do. That way there is little or no chance that anyone else will know what you are doing. We can pick up a jump drive and I will load it up with everything I find today. Then I'll get up a shadow account that will get a copy of everything she sends or receives." "Good ideas, Freddie. The district gave her a lap top, but I don't think she would allow any of this to get on there. Anyway, good thinking. Meet me in the parking garage, first level at eleven." Later that day, Hutch perused his wife's email of the last month. Keying in on her correspondence with kbprinme3. He concluded that they were corresponding in a way that would lead one to believe that this was her lover. It made him angry and a little sick. Lorna was letting this person in on her most inner thoughts. Much of it, he felt, should be reserved for her husband, if she still loved him. As he stewed over what he was going to do about it, Freddie called, "Whatcha got for me, Freddie?" "About forty percent of her personal emails are to or from kbprinme3. You were right about her district account. I got in there, it's all business." "Yeah, OK. I have a feeling that may be her lover. Do you have an I.D.?" "Yep, sure do, boss. One Kenneth Burns. He's the principal at Madison Elementary. It was the third elementary school built by the District. That's bold, writing that stuff using your work email. A real hot shot though. I see where he was one of the main speakers at the Admin. Conference last year. Probably thinks he is above it all. I went on the district's website. He is certainly their fair haired boy. Published in the state's School Administrator's magazine. Speaker at several of their conferences, he has put the District on the map." Hutch lean back in his desk chair, "OK yeah, that conference was about eight months ago. I think Lorna rode up there with him and another principal. Reading some of the most recent email, I would say that he is about too, or already has gotten into her pants. I would never thought Lorna would fall for someone else, but it is becoming hard to deny it..." "I'm sorry sir. I would have never thought it, either." "Listen Freddie, I want you to pick out someone in forensics that you can work with, closely, have worked with, that I can trust like I do you. I don't like where I feel this is going. So, I need a person good at gaining information from multi-sources. I'd like to be able to listen in on all Lorna's phone conversations with this guy. Anyway, how are you for tomorrow at ten am?" "Ten am? I'm good, sir" "OK, bring who ever you choose to my office tomorrow at ten. I'll cut my secretary, Janet, in on what is going on so she will know how to handle Lorna's calls and give you some office support. Also, I'll call Jim Patrick who's head of Forensics and tell him that you will be choosing one of his people to help me in a special project. I'll also call the head of your department and tell him to get someone else to work on your cases.." "OK sir, see you at ten tomorrow morning." Wednesday morning, ten am Freddie entered Hutch's office with a woman that had all the appearances of a total nerd. Mid to late twenties, brown eyes, toothy grin that demonstrated a serious over bite and straight brown hair that was cut in a "Dutch boy" style. Her clothing, three shades of grey, was in the style of an old maid school teacher. She was not really a skinny woman. It was just that at 5' 4" she had a boyish figure, including a flat chest. Freddie introduced her to Hutch and Janet, "This is Rosalyn Simmons. Boss? She is one of your top forensic audit CPA's." Hutch stepped around his desk to greet them, "I know Roz. She's been the one that has blown a couple of our most high profile audits wide open by identifying the perp.." Shaking her hand, he continued, "You even nailed that CEO of that multi national last year. With what they were paying him, I'll never understand why he would want to skim any more." "Well boss, they call Roz Missus Columbo because she is so underestimated by so many people." stated Freddie. "Yes, so I've heard.. Good choice Freddie. What have you told her about this project?" Just that it's about your wife and that we are to keep it all among us three, right now." "Good." said Hutch, sitting on the front edge of his desk. Freddie and Roz took seats facing him. He continued, "First objective. Tap into all of their means of communication. We have already bugged the house land line. Freddie? Did you get deeper into Lorna's district email?" "Yes I did. Unlike her boyfriend, she doesn't appear to use it to do anything other than school business. Roz is our specialist in tapping and locating cell phones." Roz commented in her soft, almost squeaky voice, "Get me the phone number and I'll have everything going to a recorder by the end of the day. Also, I don't think it would be to difficult to bug your wife's office phone and his for that matter. But ah, none of this would be usable in court." Hutch stood up, "Information only right now, Roz, but thanks for mentioning it. Freddie? Get with Roz and do a complete background check on this guy. Meet here at eight am tomorrow. Roz, get three prepaid cell phones for us to use. Make sure that they are totally unrelated to this firm. Oh, one last item, The only other member of our team will be Janet, my secretary. Since she has been with me for over twenty years, she knows Lorna almost as well as I do. She'll be your in-office support when you are in the field. and will know how to answer the calls that come into this office. So Roz? Make that four prepaid cell phones., OK? I'll see you two tomorrow at eight am. Plan on meeting here every morning at eight, until we get this thing resolved. Any questions?" Roz asked, "Sir? What's the desired result here? What do you want to accomplish?" Hutch paused for a moment, then answered her, "My desired result here is very simple. I want my loving wife back. If we have to destroy this guy to get him out of her life, then so be it." That was no problem for Roz. She had brought down men and women of a much higher status than Ken Burns. After Roz and Freddie had left his office, Hutch sat in his desk chair, put his hands behind his head, leaned back and said to himself, "Lorna Jean? You are my wife and I love you very much. I am certainly not going to allow some wuss of an academic playboy to come between us. I know that in some respect, I am to blame for the progress he has made thus far, so I will see what I can do to clean up my act." He turned the last twenty five years of marriage in his mind. They were very good. What happened in the last six or seven months? He thought about his wife. She was always pleasantly attractive. No knock out in looks, just an air of elegance that made her a premium quality woman. And, even more importantly, she was intelligent. He always thought she was too smart to fall for some guy's line of B.S. "So, what has happened here? Why such a change of attitude?" he said to himself out loud. Offices in the three top floors of a thirty story building that he owned, Hutch spun around in his chair and gazed out the window, still thinking about his wife. He was proud of her accomplishments and he had to admit to the fact - she was the better parent. His mind returned to her physical appearance. At 43 years old, five foot nine inches, one hundred forty five pounds, breasts that were more than one of his hands full, her feminine curves were all still in the right places. He wandered what this thirty something wiz kid would think about the stretch marks on her tummy and her sagging breasts. To Hutch, they were beautiful reminders of three very healthy pregnancies, giving them three wonderful children. Now grown, two as adults and one standing on the threshold of adulthood. He had to acknowledge that the near future might get a little rough, but they would get passed it all, as a family, intact. To him, that was the only satisfactory resolution and he had built his career on gaining satisfactory resolutions to major problems. Thursday morning, bright and early As Hutch adjusted his tie in their bedroom mirror, Lorna poked her head out of the bathroom, "Norm? Ah, I wanted to remind you of the promotion party tomorrow night. They have a hosted bar and dancing starting at five. Presentations at seven, dinner at eight. I would like it very much if my husband could be there. The address is on the District's web site." Lorna's tone of voice was more like that of his wife. So, as he pulled on his suit coat he said, "I'll definitely try to make it. We have a settlement conference at four. It should be quick, I think they are very ready to settle. Big bucks though, so I'll be at your event as soon as I can." With that he heard the ring tone on her cell phone and turned to leave. "OK Norm." Lorna said, ducking back into the bathroom to take the call thinking, "What's happening here? There was a day no that long ago, that they would not let each other out of the house without a kiss. Oh well..." A couple of minutes passed eight that morning, Hutch entered his outer office. "Good morning sir." greeted Janet in her normally cheerful tone of voice. No matter how bad things seemed to be, Janet always had that "It will get better" tone in her voice. "Good morning, Janet." responded Hutch. Roz and Freddie rose from their seats and both greeted Hutch, "Good morning, sir." "Good morning Roz. Good Morning, Freddie." Hutch responded. The he said, "All three of you come on in." In Hutch's office, he walked over to the front of his desk and turned to face the now seated Roz and Freddie. Janet stood by the door in case she heard the tone signaling that someone had entered the outer office."OK ladies and gentleman, Lorna's school district is having a promotion party tomorrow night, the details are posted on their website. Roz, Freddie? I want video and audio of the whole thing. I don't care if you two have to sneak in with camcorders, or how ever you want to do it. Just like the last couple of days, I'll sign for anything you need. I should be there. We have a large settlement conference at four, so I'll be a little late, but I think I'll surprise her by being their for her presentation. So, what else do we have this morning?" Roz drew out a disc and said, "As of yesterday afternoon, we have bugs on all their phones. In the evening we caught a very interesting conversation between Mister Burns and what sounded like another school administrator and good friend of his..." She rose and went to Hutch's disc player that was nestled in among the law books. "It will give us some insight into his plans and I believe it will give us an idea of why she is acting the way she has lately." Within a few seconds, Ken's voice came on, "Hey." "Hey Ken, ya fuck'er yet?" "Not yet." answered Ken, "But, my six month plan is right on schedule. I'll have that forty three year old pussy any day now. That's after I have her on her knees sucking my cock. Then after I've had that pussy a few times, I'll take what I'll bet is one tight virgin ass. Then old friend, I'll nail her everywhere in her own bed, as often as I want." The other man's voice came on, "I'd nailed her when she was a teacher if it wasn't for her husband. I really think he could hurt a guy in more ways than one..." "Ahh krap, I don't worry about him. I'll have the bitch fucked everywhere as often as I want and dump her before he ever finds out about it." Laughter from both men. Ken continued with, "Anyway, when I've had her pussy and ass a few times, you can come over and have at her, while I go after her daughter's cherry pussy..." Then the other voice verified who they were talking about, "Sounds good to me. I'd bet anything that Lorna Jean's seconds are better than a lot of women's firsts." Ken responded, "Oh yeah, no doubt about it. I know I am going to enjoy every second of my cock sliding in and out of that under used body of hers. Just the squeals, cries, and moans she's gonna utter when I first get into that tight ass will make it all worth it." Hutch shut off the disc player and growled, "I've heard enough, actually more than I needed to hear. If I would have had any breakfast this morning, I am sure I would be heaving right now. But, I'll tell you one thing for sure, over my dead body will this creep get Kathy's virginity. It's her's to give and I know for a fact that he's not her type. But, this brand of slime ball might just con her out of it. How'd you guys do on the creep's background?" "It's coming together, sir." replied Freddie, "We have most of it. There's a little more. We should have it all together later this morning." He then handed Hutch a large envelope from his brief case."This is what we have, so far. You have a hard copy and a disc in there." "Fantastic. You two make a very good team. I'll keep that in mind for future projects." Hutch said as he reviewed the contents of the file."This guy is one hundred and fifty pounds. Played no sports. Academically alright, he's got nothing but ego. Although, in a situation like this, that can make him awfully dangerous. The thing is... If we pounce on the guy right now, we might end up looking like the fools..." Flipping to Ken's financial statement, Hutch noticed that his only real asset, ""So, he's got a twenty million dollar trust.. That's his only asset?" Hutch's Property Ch. 01 "Yes sir." replied Freddie. "Next page is the description of the trust." "Well, there's the one area of life that he shares with Lorna. Neither one are doing this school administrator thing for the money." Hutch said as he flipped to the next page and began reading the trust. As he examined the provisions, he thought, "Big deal. My liquidity is four or five times that, not counting what I have off shore." He turned to Freddie, "Do you have this report on your computer?" "Yes sir." replied Freddie. "Good, very good." Said Hutch still perusing the report, want you to poke around in his former school districts, his college, even his high school. Find out about any other women he has done this too. It would appear that he has been at it for quite some time." "Yes, sir. I'll get right on it." responded Freddie. "Roz?" asked Hutch. "Yes, sir." she replied. "I want you to get over to the School District's headquarters about eleven fifteen, eleven thirty. Hang out in the employee's lunch room. You'll find it by going in the employee's entrance off the parking lot. It's always open during school hours. You go down the hall to its end, then left. It'll be off to your right. See what you can find out from the employees. Also, I think my dear wife is meeting Ken there for lunch. I doubt Lorna will recognize you. And ah, check those recorders a couple of times through out the day and especially in the evenings." "OK sir, I'm on it and I'll keep you posted." acknowledged Roz. Friday Evening Hutch walked out of the elevator, into the parking garage, toward his car. He glanced at his watch thinking. "I should be there between six thirty and a quarter to seven. Definitely in time for her speech and the presentations. Since this is the first speech Lorna has ever given that I didn't help write, I'll be interested in how well it goes." Electronically unlocking his car, he threw his brief case in the back seat and slid into the drivers seat. As he started the car, the thought hit him, "We settled tonight. Finally settled that three and a half almost four year ordeal. A real legal 'clash of the titans' battle between two very large multi national corporations." His client had come out on top, bringing tidy eight figure sum of money into Hutch's firm. Even the heavy traffic didn't bother him tonight. He even had a spring is step when he entered the hotel ballroom where the school district was holding their event. Eyes finally adjusting to the dim lighting, Hutch made his way toward a table where Paul Allen, the superintendent and his wife were sitting. He assumed that it would be the table where he would find his wife. On his way to the table, he noticed that there were only three couples dancing. The male of one couple that was dancing very close fit the description of Kenneth Burns. As Hutch approached the group at the table, he noticed Lorna's purse and shoes. Paul stood up to greet him. As the two men shook hands, the music ended. Hutch turned toward the dance floor just as Ken and his dancing partner kissed. It was a "lovers" kiss. When the passionate kiss ended, the couple turned and walked toward Hutch. It was then that he noticed that he female involved in the kiss was his wife, Lorna Jean. As the dancers neared the table, even in the dim lighting and already putting down two pina coladas, Lorna could not help but recognize the six foot four inch, broad shouldered figure of her husband . He was standing by her seat, glaring at her. "Norman?!? You made it here!?! She exclaimed, thinking, "I hope he didn't see that kiss. But, that glare tells me that he did. Why did I even dance with Ken tonight.?" "Obviously!" responded Hutch. The alcohol helped the ego that Ken had pumped up in Lorna kick in, "I didn't think you would make it. I didn't even think that you would remember." "That's also obvious." said Hutch. "Ah, how long have you been here?" Lorna asked. "Long enough! Are you fucking him?" "Norman?!? Watch your language!! I have to work with these people!" Lorna said raising her voice in an arrogant, condescending manner. However, she was well aware of the fact that her husband hardly ever swore. That it was a good indication that he was very upset with her. "It seems to me that you would have thought about that out there on the dance floor." Hutch said, Still glaring at Lorna, he knew that look and tone of voice. He had seen and heard it from so many witnesses in the court room and in depositions. They were always lying and/or trying to cover up something. In his court room voice, as in court he was heard all over the ballroom, "Answer the question, Lorna! Are you have sex with this guy?" A hush came over the room, the band took a break, a humiliated Lorna was speechless. Ken made the mistake of stepping in between Lorna and Hutch, "Ah, please Mister Hutchinson... Ah, the kiss was my doing. Your wife is a lovely woman, but I can assure you that we are not sexually involved..." Hutch was so angry that for the first time in his life he felt a loss of self control was eminent. Ken's actions and comment only served to add fuel to the fire of his rage. "Was I addressing you? I don't even know you! Just stay out of the way!!" Ken didn't move and tried to continue, his second mistake, "I was just trying to hel..." Hutch, the college football linebacker, glared at Ken. Then Hutch's right hand crossed over to Ken's right shoulder and sent the slight built man flying and stumbling about ten feet. Then, sliding almost back to the dance floor on his face and shoulders. Now adding anger to her glare, Lorna shouted, "Norman?!? That was totally uncalled for!! You might have hurt him!!" She then turned to ran to Ken's side. Followed by Paul, Hutch turned and began walking out of the room. In the hall outside the ballroom, Paul called to Hutch, "Ah, Norman, ah, Mister Hutchinson? Please, may I have a word with you?" The five foot eight inch, 130 pound Paul Allen was a very capable administrator, but hated any type of confrontation. He was simply not demonstrative enough to deal effectively with issues like employee fraternization. After pushing the button for an elevator to the parking area, Hutch turned toward him. Paul, trying to catch his breath, said, "Ah, I'll make sure Mister Burns files no charges. Ah, I'm very sorry for all of this. I ah..." Hutch glared down at Paul, "What charges would he file?" Realizing that he was talking to the senior partner of one of the city largest and most reputable law firms, Paul foundered around with, "Ah, assault I guess..." "Mister Allen?" Hutch responded emphatically, "Listen to me carefully. First, any assault charge would die a sudden death in the DA's office. No Paul, that is no where near your problem, now. I'm sure your school district has policies in place to prevent something just like this from happening. So, I trust you'll understand when I say that your district has a sizable financial liability here. Then there is the news media. I'm quite sure they will have a lot of fun with this event." Hutch did not mention that two of his people were there with camcorders in hand and would remain through-out the evening. The elevator doors opened, Hutch entered and the doors closed. Leaving a stunned Paul with nothing to say and no one to say it too. Lorna arrived from the ballroom, almost out of breath and asked, "Where's Norman?" "He just left in one of the elevators to the parking levels." Paul said as he spun around to return to the party. Leaving Lorna frantically pushing buttons to open one of the elevators. Paul now realized that he had some culpability in this mess, since he had avoided talking to Lorna and Ken about what he hoped was just a friendship. Apparently it was rapidly becoming much more than that. He decided that he would call them into his office early the following week to discuss their relationship. He realized also that his job may very well depend on his properly dealing with this affair. Knowing that three members of the board were in attendance tonight and hearing that the district might have some financial liability from a powerful trial attorney sent shivers up his back. If it came down to his position or Lorna and Ken's, well, he had the back bone enough to make that decision properly. Not long after Paul returned to his seat, Lorna came back to their table. He asked her, "Did you find him?" Lorna sat down, "No! By the time I got into the parking area he was gone." She glanced at her watch, it was almost seven o'clock. "I'm first to speak, aren't I?" "Yes." replied Paul, raising to go to the speakers platform and introduce Lorna as the first speaker. Two minutes later, she rose to take the speaker's place at the platform. This was the first speech she had ever given that her husband did not help her write and polish. With his help, she had given dynamic speeches that had informed and inspired students, teachers and administrators alike. Which was the primary reason for her involvement in education. Hutch and Lorna certainly did not need the money. However, this speech might inform some, but she really doubted that it would inspire anybody. Now as she approached the platform, full of anger, guilt ridden and humiliated, all she had on the cards in her hand was a lack luster, uninspiring bunch of words. Neither she nor Ken were anywhere near the wordsmith of Hutch's quality. Turning into her driveway, Lorna pushed the button above the windshield to open the garage door, allowing the car to roll to a stop into her parking place. She remained in her seat as the garage door closed. According to the dash board clock when she entered the garage, it was only nine fifteen. Lorna had left the party in full swing. But, she knew that she had to get home and deal with the situation. Not knowing what she would do or say, she only knew that she had put down three pinea coladas during and after dinner. That was on top of the two she had before her speech. An accomplished social drinker, she realized that she most likely should not have driven herself home. However, the anger, guilt and humiliation were still there. Now, she was operating on pride, alcohol and adrenalin. That ego that Ken had masterfully installed and puffed up to obscure her view of what was of real value would continue to prevent her from doing right by her husband. Entering the house, Lorna found Hutch in the living room. Standing in the middle of the room, he had his coat and tie off, gazing out toward the pool, Hands on her hips, Lorna demanded, "What, in God's name, prompted that display of violence?!?" Hutch turned to face his wife, noticing that her arrogant, condescending posture was in full bloom. He looked right at her, as he would a witness in court and said, calmly, "You haven't answered my question. So, why should I answer yours?" In her drunken, angry state, Lorna shouted back, "Annd! What the hell would that be?" Hutch responded in his usual calm, cool, collected manner that only served to increase her level of frustration, "Are you have sex with that man?" Lorna stamped her foot and raising her voice, replied, "No damn it, I'm not. I have never cheated on you. But, if you keep pushing it, maybe I will, just to spite you.!" Maintaining eye contact, Hutch shock his head from side to side, "Well, I wouldn't know it by that kiss tonight..." Now her arms were crossed over her chest. She screamed back at him, "You made a foul of me tonight. You humiliated me in front people I work around..." "No, Lorna. I'm quite sure you did that very well all by yourself. You did not at all need my help." She promptly went into a tirade, saying some things that she didn't mean. Then a string of words came out of her month that she wanted to retract as soon as they passed her lips, "Maybe, just maybe I don't love you anymore!" Watching the kiss bothered Hutch. Her subsequent actions had humiliated him. But, since he deeply loved his wife, those words cut deep and hurt considerably. He walked past her, toward their bedroom and said emphatically, "That being the case, I cannot, I will not remain in this house with you!" Lorna went into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee and calm down. Thinking, maybe she and Hutch could sit down over a cup of coffee and talk it out. As she pushed the button to start the coffee maker, she heard Hutch come down the stairs. Coming out of the kitchen, she found him at the door to the garage with two suit cases. Stunned, she asked him, "Norm, what are you doing?" "I told you what I was going to do and I'm doing it!" he answered as he opened the door and shoved one cases into the garage. As he picked up the other case, her cell phone rang. She drew it out from somewhere and started to answer it. He looked at her in disgust and commented, "Dressed as sexy as hell. But, you still have someplace for that cell phone. And, you wouldn't dare turn it off to talk to talk to your husband..." With that he passed through the door into the garage. She answered her phone, "Yeah!" It was Ken on the other end. "Just checkin' ta make sure you made it home..." She cut him off with, "Yeah, I'm here. Talk to you tomorrow!" She snapped her phone shut and followed Hutch into the garage. Ken laughed at her demeanor, "In a real knock down, drag out with her husband, I'll bet. My cock will be in that pussy very soon, no doubt about it." Lorna entered the garage as Hutch was sliding into the driver's seat of his car, "Norman!?! Stop! You can't leave me!!" "Watch me!" he said, closing the car door, starting the car and opening the garage door. Again stunned by his actions, she watched him drive way until the garage door closed. Then she screamed, "Well, fuck you too. I can make it on my own, without you..." Know in her heart that her last statement was not in any way true. Stomping back into the house, she screamed to nobody there, "I'm somebody now, too, Norman Hutchinson, attorney at law, C.P.A.! I don't need you or anybody else for that matter." Stomping around the family room, cursing her husband, Lorna's speech that evening reminded her that yes she did need her husband in her life. She then took a prone position on one of the couches and passed out. A little after midnight, Lorna awoke to someone coming in the front door. Thinking it might be Hutch coming back, she went to the door to the garage. Then she heard Kathy at the front door saying good night to her date. Finding Kathy still in the entry, Lorna asked, "How was your date?" "Oh, he's alright. Just a little full of himself. I'd sure like to find a guy who is as interested in me and what I want in life as they are in themselves. I want to find a guy like dad. So? How was the big event?" "To put it mildly, it went terrible, a total disaster!" "Oh no, mom! What happened?" "Well, I had a couple of Pina Coladas on an empty stomach, mistake number one. Then, your father showed up just in time to see me do something really stupid. Then... " She placed the fingers of her right hand on her forehead and bowed her head slightly, "Crap... And then, I managed to compound it. Dropping her hand back to her side, Lorna continued, "So then, your father had the only lapse in self control I've ever seen. Then, he left and came home. I managed to give the worst speech I'd ever given. Downed three more Pina coladas during and after dinner..Then realizing that I had screwed up, I left the party early and came home to face your father." Lorna paused, sighed, then continued, "I don't really know how it happened, but your father and I got into the worst argument we have ever had. But dammit, he hurt and humiliated me at that party. So then, I said some things that I simply shouldn't have said and others that I didn't mean. So, he packed up a left..." "Oh wow, mahm? What do you mean, he left?" Still feeling her much more than usual consumption of alcohol, Lorna stated emphatically, "Just what I said, he packed up and drove away. What time is it, anyway?" "Almost twelve thirty. Are you going to go out and find him?" "Not tonight dear, I think we both need to cool down some. Right now I feel like I am going to loose everything I've eaten tonight...." With that Lorna headed toward the nearest toilet. Saturday Morning Hutch had driven to the interstate highway and checked into the first motel he found with a lighted "Vacancy" sign. Once in his room, he immediately shut off his cell phone. Emotionally drained, he pulled off his clothes and crashed in the bed. The next morning, after a fitful night's sleep, he got up at around eight am and took a shower. Once dressed he turned on his cell phone, knowing Lorna was most likely still asleep. He was surprised to find three calls from his daughter, all placed that morning. He also had a call from one of his larger clients in Dallas, Texas. A multi-national firm dealing in currencies and commodities, they had become deeply involved in derivatives. Recognizing the caller as Jim Stevens, their CEO, Hutch returned the call immediately. Reaching Jim at home, the call was answered with, "Damn good ta hear yer voice, Hutch. Glad ya got right back ta me. Iah know it's Saturday an' we both should be with our families, but we've got some Texas size internal problems out here. I don't really know if it's some employees trying to scam us or something worse. But, I do know this for sure, you've got the people that can find out for us, right quick..." "Yeah Jim, I could get a team down there early next week." "Ah, good, Hutch. But ah, I'd sure like ta see you down here t'day an' tomma. So you can look it all over first hand. You can stay in our home, I have everything you need, right here. Ah Hutch? Can yew be at the airport in about an hour and a half? I took the liberty of bookin' ya a flight on American..." Hutch thought about it for a couple of moments, "Why not? It'll give Lorna and I some time to cool down." Then he said, "Yeah Jim, I can make that flight." "That's great Hutch. We booked it online. So, you can go to the computer check in. I'll have my driver meet you at the baggage claim here in Dallas. Thank yew Hutch. I knew we could depend on yew." After terminating his call with Jim, Hutch called his daughter, "Hi sweetheart..." "Daddy?!? Where are you? Why aren't you here? Mom said something about an argument. Are you coming home?" "Slow down precious. Your mom and I both did and said some stupid things last night. Your mom did and said some things that really hurt. Anyway, one of our larger clients in Dallas has some big problems. They would like me to come down there today and tomorrow to check it out.. I think it will give your mom and I some time to cool off." "After talking to mom last night, I guess that's a good idea. But ah, dad? You should check the morning newspaper, or turn on the T.V. Ah, they have the whole scene from the school district's party last night. The newspaper has the head line of a prominent attorney, his wife and her lover get into it. And daddy? I think the first news crew just showed up at our door." "Damn! We have to get a fence and gates across the front on the street. Tell them no comment. I've got to catch a plane to Dallas. I'll call you tonight." "Ok daddy. Bye." Later that morning, Lorna sat at the breakfast table spinning her coffee cup, not realizing how out of character both of them were acting. Usually, they would have spent the morning working something like this out. But in twenty five years, she had never given him reason to accuse her of cheating on him and she was totally unprepared from his reaction. In her hung over state, she still was not seeing it all very clearly. So, she was muttering under her breath, "Yeah Norm, run off with one of your clients for a couple of days, I'm still pissed off at you." Then she picked up her cell phone and called Ken. When he answered she said, "Hi, good lookin'" Hutch's Property Ch. 01 "Hey classy lady, how ya doin'?" "Rotten hang over and my husband ran off last night. Now, he conveniently has a very important trip to Dallas, Texas. He won't be back until tomorrow or Monday. I need somebody to talk too. Has the news media been there yet?" "No, why?" "They're here and it's in the morning newspaper..." "They can't find me. My condo is in the name of one of my family's corporations and I gave the district an address of a friend." "Oh, well...ah... Can I come over there and talk?" Lorna asked hesitantly. "Sure. I guess it would be alright. I'll meet you at the entrance to the parking garage. That way it is unlikely that anybody will notice you coming in." he said, thinking, "Yeah, lovely lady. Come on over to my web. But, we won't just talk. I'm gonna get into that pussy of yours and you'll be sucking my cock, too. Maybe I'll get into that tight virgin ass of yours while I'm at it." After her call to Ken, Lorna sat for a few minutes thinking about it all. Then the thought hit her, "You shouldn't go to his condo alone." But, she dismissed the thought with "I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself." Kathy returned to the kitchen and asked, "How ya feeling mom?" Much worse than last night. But, I still feel like the dumb ass that usually has one or two drinks through out the evening. Last night I had five and came home early and am I suffering for it now! Worst hangover I've ever had. Listen, Kathy? I'm going over to visit a friend. I should be back by dinner, can you take care of yourself until then?" "Sure mom. Who are you visiting? That Ken guy that got you in this mess?" "Kathy? Right now it is best that you don't know where I am..." There was a knock at the front door and a ringing of the door chimes. "That's most likely those news people. Tell them, no comment. I'm going up and take a shower and then get out of here." "OK mom. At least you and dad agree on one thing, no comment to the media." Hutch sat down in his flight's boarding area and considered opening his lap top computer. His special cell phone rang. It was Roz, "Hey boss, where are you?" "I'm sitting at the airport waiting for my flight to Dallas. One of our clients has a big problem and they want me down there today and tomorrow to get a look at it. I'll be back tomorrow evening or Monday morning to start forming the initial team to go in there. So, what's up?" "All hell has broke loose, boss. The media is all over that scene last night. Ah, we got the whole thing from two angles. Your wife left about nine and we stayed until about ten thirty, talkin' to people. We merge both camcorders into one file and I have emailed it to you. The second item is this. We picked up a conversation between your wife and that guy Ken. She is on her way over to his condo right now. He conveniently gave her everything we need to know to get to his location. Freddie is on his motorcycle to intercept and follow her to his place. He has a G.P.S. on his bike, so we can meet him there." "Fantastic Roz. You and Freddie are doing great. Now listen, I want you to get as much audio and visual equipment as you can into that condo, as soon as you can." "Aye aye, sir. Also, I'm sending you what I have after spending a couple of two hour lunches in your wife's lunch room. You'll find that their meetings are very interesting. Ah, something else I noticed and I'm sure you will too. Ah, you know we have audio and visual in your living room and bedroom. Ah, so we have been privy to your recent discussions with your wife..." "Yeah, I know, so..." "Well boss, the first thing she does when she sits down with this guy is shut off her cell phone. I picked up that distinctive swishing sound of her phone provider when she turns it on or off." That tended to piss off Hutch. He asked himself, "Who is this woman and what has she done with my wife." "Ah Boss? Are you still there?" "Yeah Roz, I'm still here. That just pisses me off and you know why." "Yes boss. There's one more thing..." "Talk fast Roz. They're calling for first class passengers to board." Hutch said, as he picked up his laptop and carry-on. "OK, Freddie is really getting into this... Yesterday he stubbled on something at the school board's computer that got him going. It would appear that your wife's package that she submitted for the position she has now was embellished a bit after it arrived at the district headquarters. He's checking on the other candidates packages. It seems that what came into the district headquarters is not what was sent to the School Board." Hutch approached the flight attendant and said, "Hold on for a minute, Roz." He handed his boarding pass and I.D. to the attendant. Then once on the ramp to the plane he returned to his conversation. "Roz, OK listen. Tell Freddie to carry his investigation as far as he can. Then, put it on a disk and delete everything off the computers. He knows how to really delete it all. Annd, Roz? Lorna is to never know anything about Freddie's findings. I'm positive that she had nothing to do with it, so we keep her out of it." As he found his seat on the plane, he said, "Now Roz, get with Freddie and a couple of our best covert installers over at Ken's condo complex. We know what both of them drive. I want audio and visual equipment in his condo and tracking on their cars. Double check your security on the website. We don't know what this guy or his friends are capable of doing. Oh, and Roz? Pass this on to Freddie... You guys are doing a top notch job. The CIA or FBI would be proud." "Thank you, sir." "I'll call you tomorrow morning... Oh, Roz? Pass this on to Freddie, like any special project take all the overtime you guys need and keep your receipts from out of pocket expenses.. Also, any special authorizations, you know the text codes." "Thank you, sir. We'll talk to you tomorrow." Back in her car after Lorna had to ask the media people to move three vehicles off her driveway, she tried Hutch's cell phone, again. It went directly to voice mail, because it was off. She called her daughter, "Kathy? If you hear from your father, ask him to please do something about the media around our house. They were blocking the driveway and they are messing up the front yard. Crap, we must be the hottest story in town, right now." Pumping her ego on the way to Ken's, Lorna thought, "Damn you, Norm. Answer your damn cell phone, or call me back. I'm somebody now in my own right. Not just your wife any more. Yeah, hot shot Hutch Hutchinson, I can get along with out you." As he promised, Ken met Lorna at the entrance to the complex's parking garage and directed her to the space next to his car. Making it easy for her husband's team to install tracking devices on both vehicles. Although Lorna came naively to "only talk", within a half hour of arriving in Ken's condo, he had her nude, on his bed, legs spread. He drove his thirty two year old cock deep into her forty three year old pussy. However, the married Lorna laid there expecting more, much more. For one thing, Ken was not as long or wide as her husband. So, he was not going to go anywhere that her husband had not been in the last twenty five years. Secondly, she missed the broad shoulders of Hutch. Thirdly, she missed Hutch's touch, his kisses and his tongue on her clit before he penetrated her vagina. At the time she could not put her finger on the above three items, so she just laid there and let Ken finish. No orgasm for her and a minimum of pleasure. Pushing aside the guilt of it all, she rolled him over and sucked him up thinking, "Maybe this time it will be better." After going at it a couple of times, Lorna not getting off once, they decided to go out and get some lunch. He knew of a diner out on a back-road where they would not be recognized. As they walked to their cars she said, "Let's take your car. I think I lost the news people that were following me, but I can't be for sure." She did lose the media, alright. But, not Freddie on his motorcycle equipped with a G.P.S. unit that would be read by Roz and two installers in her mini-van. During the time that Ken was fucking Lorna, the team had gone over the plans for the entire complex, including the layout of Ken's condo. Freddie had hacked into the complex's security system and ascertained Ken's code to open the main entrance doors. They gave Lorna and Ken ten minutes, then entered the complex as if they belonged there. One of the installers used a tool that opened Ken's front door as if they had a key. The other installer moved quickly to deactivate the alarm system, but found that Ken had forgotten to activate it before they left for lunch. Roz chuckled to herself, "You dumb ass. You are making this just too easy. But, that's about all big egos will get you. Our boss is gonna have your balls in a jar of formaldehyde, if he wants.." -Monday morning - First week of Hutchinson vs Hutchinson When the pilot announced that they were preparing to land, Hutch was gazing out of the window, thinking about Lorna. He loved her more than life itself and was not about to let her go. Yes, she had hurt him deeply. However, he hoped that they could get passed this and over time his hurt would heal. The breach of trust bothered him. He had read the email four times, listen to the recordings and watched the videos. The question remained in his mind. What has he said or done that would cause her to act this way? He had listened to the phone conversation between Ken and Elizabeth Meyers, attorney at law. How she wanted as part of her fee to get one more socialite down between her legs, licking her pussy. She also wanted the pleasure of ramming her large strap-on into Lorna's pussy and ass. "Over my dead body," thought Hutch, "Over my dead body and there will be no divorce. Once I have dealt with that little creep, Ken, disbarment is the minimum for you Beth Meyers. Running you out of this town will definitely improve the legal community and do wonders for the social climate." Once he was off the plane, Hutch stopped to dig out his cell phone before he headed toward the baggage claim. The first person he intended to call was the only man he called "friend," Jeremy Baker. He thought back to when he first met his old friend. Accepted into the University of Southern California, School of Law. Hutch had checked into the dorms. Upon entering his assigned room, he found his new roommate already there. A young man of his same age with a big smile, booming voice and a right hand thrust out to meet Hutch, "Jeremy Baker." As he brought up Jeremy's phone number on his speed dial, he thought about when the two men firmly grasp each others right hand that it would start a close friendship that had lasted for more than thirty years and would most likely continue until they died. As he pressed the call button, he reminisced about their times out on the college football field. Himself as the linebacker that would bust the hole wide open for Jeremy the running back. Making that first down, or busting into the end zone. As it rang he reflected on their four years together in the Army's Staff Judge Advocate's Office in Washington, D.C. and meeting the young ladies that would become their wives. Calling on a very private line, the assistant that answered knew exactly who was calling, "Good afternoon Mister Hutchinson. Mister Baker has just completed another call. He will be with you in a few moments." "Hutch, ol' buddy! How ya doin'?" Just what Hutch needed right at that time was to hear his always up, win at all costs, old friend Jeremy, "I could be a lot better, buddy.. A whole hell of a lot better. Did she file?" "Oh yeah, we have a copy here in the office. You'll be served tomorrow." "Shit, listen Jeremy. Number one in our strategy is that there will be no divorce. Two, I'll deal with that little shit, Ken Burns. Three, I need you to starting think about how we can run Beth Meyers out of town, facing disbarment. I want to totally destroy both of them." "OK, I'm up for that. Ah Hutch? We've had Roz and Freddie over here this morning. They gave us everything they have so-far. What I've done is bring in Isaac Zilinsky, head of my divorce team and Doctor Ruth Watkins, our resident psychologist." "Great Jeremy. I really appreciate you getting right on it. I'm not surprised. But, it is good to know that you are here with me on this mess. I would like to have you and your team over to my office tomorrow at eight am. I'll have Janet bring in some donut and make some coffee." "Yeah, we can do that." "OK, good. And, that was a good move to bring in a psychologist. It would appear that he has really pumped up Lorna's ego. Jeremy? I cannot believe the arrogant, condescending bitch that she has been over the last six months or so." "Yeah Hutch, the last three months Jenny has noticed it and she pointed it out to me a couple of months ago. Don't we just love it when adversaries and witnesses pull that crap on us?" "Yeah we do. But Jeremy, I don't even want to get to know that bitch. What I want to know is what she has done with my wife. Annd, most importantly, how do we get the real Lorna back? I don't want this to drag on for months or years. I want this over in a couple of weeks. Then we can take all the time we need to fix it and heal the wounds." "Yeah ol' buddy, I agree, fully agree. You and I, Jenny and Lorna have too much of a solid history to let some little jerk like this guy and some carpetbagger to mess it up. I'll see you tomorrow at your office, eight am." Hutch hung up the phone think about how much Jeremy was beginning to sound like his southern belle of a wife. Or, that he was born in the south east, not to a wine family in Napa, California. That evening, Lorna called her husband. Now, totally full of guilt, but to proud and puffed ego to do anything else but cover her guilt by taking the offensive. Hutch answered this call from his wife, remaining calm and as he had in winning so many legal arguments and using as few words as possible. However, they were as effective as rocks thrown against a glass house. That only added anger to Lorna's responses. She ended the conversation by snapping her phone shut and shouting to herself, "Damn you Norman. There you go again, gettin' me ta say things I shouldn't have said. Annd, damn it, you heard every word that came out of my month. Mostly likely recorded it. Well Norman Hutchinson, attorney at law, I have my own attorney now. For now on, we'll talk through her." But, somewhere in the back of her mind, Lorna realized that Beth Meyers was not at all in the same league as her husband, or his best friend, Jeremy Baker. Eight am Tuesday morning - Hutch's office. As the group assembled, Roz scurried in, "Ya gotta hear this. I picked it up this morning. It actually happened last night.. It's a conversation between Ken and that person we have now identified as James Worthington. A principal at one of the junior high schools. Forty years old, married, three kids. Anyway, you guys gotta hear this conversation. That low life, Ken elaborates on his plans for Lorna and Kathy." She then placed a disk into the machine and turned up the volume so everybody in the room could hear. Ken had initiated the call with, "Hey, Ken here. How ya doin'?" "Good Ken. How are you doing?" "Ah Jimmy, couldn't be much better." responded an excited Ken, "I fucked Lorna about four times over the weekend. I got her to come over here because the media was all over her place. Half hour after she got over here, I had her in the sack., my cock buried deep in the snug pussy. Damn, I just love well preserved, early forties. Didn't get her virgin ass yet, but that's just a matter of time. When I get it, I'll have you over here and we'll double dip her a few times. We'll get it all on a camcorder and make her watch it. That gets'em on the slut road real quick. It doesn't matter how high in society they are and she's right up there in the highest level. One of those high society do-gooder that everybody thinks that their shit doesn't stink. I grew up around them, crap my mother was one. I just love fucking them and then bring them down to wallow in the mud with the rest of the sluts and whores and other pigs.." James responded with, "Damn Ken, I don't know if I should call you sick or not. But, there's no doubt in my mind that I'd sure like to get my cock into that . Then get her on her knees sucking it back up so I could fuck her pussy again and her ass. Some double dip? Oh yeah Ken, I'd like some of that, too. I'll bet she'll squeal like a little piggy with our cocks in her pussy and ass." Ken laughed, "Yeah, that's for sure. But, squealing like a little piggy when she gets a cock in her ass, that's Beth Meyers. After she and I talked Lorna into filing for divorce, Lorna went home. When she had gone, I wasted no time in getting that pump little Beth in all holes. When I got into her ass, yeah, she squeals just like a fat little pig. She's comfortable, though." "I've always wondered why you got into her pants. But, I guess having a divorce lawyer riding your cock came in handy with Lorna, didn't it." injected James. "Oh yeah. Beth is not at all my type, but a good fuck. I'll get her with you one of these days. Take her some place for the weekend and fuck her 'til she can't see straight. She likes it like that." They both laughed, then Ken continued. "Anyway, that up tight twit, Lorna's daughter Kathy will be eighteen real soon and no longer jail bait. I'll pop that cherry and we'll slut her, too. Mother and daughter team of wealthy, high class sluts." A laughing James said, "Just like that Boston teacher and her daughter. The one you and I and two other guys took up into the Catskills for her fiftieth birthday and fucked her fifty times." A laughing Ken added, "Yeah, then we took her for a weekend in Atlantic City. She brought her daughter. We made married sluts outta both of them. These two will be just a younger version and Lorna will be one wealthy slut when this is over. My slut. I can't wait to set up their first gangbang." Hutch paced uncharacteristically behind his desk. When the conversation ended, he said emphatically, "Over my dead body, you little prick." Jeremy stepped up next to Hutch, "I'm right there with ya buddy..." "Yeah Jeremy, we've always been there for each other, haven't we? I really appreciate you and your team joining us on this one." Hutch said giving his old friend a pat on the shoulder. Then turning toward Doctor Watkins, "Ruth? Can you get Ken's medical records? Quickly and without much fanfare? Beth Meyers, too." "Oh yes, later this morning, or right after lunch." Good Ruth thank you. If that little creep has given my wife anything permanent like herpes or HIV, he's dead meat and not very quickly, either. Okeh now, Freddie? Remember a malpractice case you were involved in about two years ago. We were defending a radiologist. Seems like one of his tech's had made a mistake and rendered some guy impotent." "Yeah boss, I remember that. Lotta news coverage, ah can't remember the doctor's name right off. But, I know how to find it." "Good, get me his file as soon as you can. If I remember right, he was very satisfied with the verdict." Jeremy smiled, "Yeah Hutch, I remember that case." Then with a chuckle, "Hey ah, you aren't thinking about getting the good doctor to make the same mistake with Ken, are you now?" Hutch cracked a quick, little smile, "First we must get Lorna back and protect Kathy. Ladies and gentlemen, I would like my wife back with me by the end of next week, or the week after, at the latest. Jeremy? Let's get that fat ass Beth an answer by tomorrow. And ah, Isaac? I know you are very good at this divorce thing. So, make it very clear to her that there will be no divorce. That if she does manage to get this into court, we will ripped her a new ass hole. Roz? Thanks for catching that last night. He's mentioned some of it before, but now he's getting really bold about it. Typical narcissist..." Hutch's Property Ch. 01 Ruth injected, "I fully agree on that assessment." "Thank you Ruth. That makes him very predictable." Hutch said, returning to his desk chair, "Now Lorna, that's another thing all together. After twenty five years, I don't know the woman she is today and you know what? I don't at all want to get to know her!" He turned to Jeremy, "You've been over those emails, videos and audio tapes. So, prepare the cases against the School District and Mister Burns." "You got it Hutch." responded Jeremy, "Oh by the way. My dear wife says if there is anything she can do, just call. She misses her best friend." "Good, that's good. The way I see it, when we break the condescending bitch, the real Lorna will look to someone very close, outside of our family. There's nobody closer to her than Jenny. So, when Lorna does call her, it would be the first sign that we are breaking the bitch." "You got that right." said Jeremy. "Yes, gentlemen. I fully concur. It would be a very good indication that we have in fact gained some control of the situation. The high ground, so to speak." said Ruth. Late afternoon, Wednesday of the second week. As Ken entered his condo his cell phone rang. He noticed that it was Beth, "Hey babe, how's my favorite lawyer?" "Ken? I'm not really sure, right now!" "What do you mean by that, Beth?" "Did you do any homework on Norman Hutchinson before you started fucking around with his wife?" "Ahh, not really. I'm just going on what she has told me. That he is a big shot attorney in the corporate world. I've fucked big shot's wives before and lived to tell about it." "I thought so." sighed Beth. "Ah come on, Beth. It can't be that bad. You did get your twenty grand retainer, didn't you?" "Yeah Ken, I got the retainer. I also received their answer to our petition today. It's not what's in it, which is bad enough. It's who is his attorney of record that bothers me." In a jesting tone, Ken responded, "Ahhh come on Beth. I thought nothing ever bothered you." "Ken? Get serious here. The answer came from Isaac Zilinsky of the firm of Jeremy Baker and Associates. Zilinsky and his team have clean my clock a couple of times in these high profile divorces. This is a guy that has made my clients say things they knew they shouldn't say. He has made a couple of them out to be the biggest whores and sluts in town. I objected, of course and it was sustained. But, it still got out there." Beth paused, then continued. "Let me put it to you this way. Jeremy Baker, a winning attorney in his own right, has an inner circle of associates he calls 'nine-oh' An associate is invited in when over the last three years they have won better than ninety percent of their cases. Out of more than one hundred associates, only five or six qualify. Zilinsky is one of them. "Okeh, so what does that mean to us?" "Bottom line here Ken is simply this... If Mister Hutchinson does not want this divorce, she will never get it. It also means that I am seriously considering giving Lorna back her retainer and telling her to get another attorney. Also, I have done a little more research on Norman Hutchinson and Jeremy Baker. Ya don't wanta piss'em off, and you might have already done that. These two guys go way back together. Norman the Trojan linebacker punched the holes in the defensive line for the running back, Jeremy." "Beth? I'm not much into sports. What does that mean?" "College football, Kenny boy. U.S.C. Trojans. These are two California types and were ass kicking football players slash law students. They were also room mates all through law school." "Ah wow, ah Beth? Come on over here and we'll talk about it some more." said a slightly shaken Ken. "Okeh, Kenny. I have a couple of things to wrap up here. I'll come over there in about an hour or so. Also, when I get there, I'll tell you why it might be a good idea for you to drive a rental car until this is over." As Ken flipped through his mail, he thought about Lorna. "Lady? You are becoming way to expensive." He thought about the problems they had with the media at his school over the last three days. They couldn't find his home. So, they kept trying to get a statement from him at school. Then, after Beth's comment, his attention turned to a traffic ticket he had received on his way home. The officer felt that his lane change was a little too close. Then when Ken complained the officer wrote him a fix-it ticket for some minor problems on his car. But, Ken was on a quest and his ego demand victory. Thursday afternoon - Second week. After sleeping alone for almost two weeks, Lorna invited Ken over to her house to spend the weekend. Deep inside her was a distinct foreboding. However, she went ahead and made the call. As she turned into her driveway, she realized that she would have to bring Ken home concealed in her car. Kathy had complained to her father about the media crawling all over the place. Lorna knew very well that one call from Hutch had brought in as many as eight officers during the day to keep the paparazzi in check. During her difficulties in sleeping, she had counted as many as four officers during the wee hours of the morning. Slowing down at the beginning of the driveway, she recognized the Sargent in charge as the brother of the first fallen officer that had been helped by the foundation that Hutch and Jeremy had put together about ten years ago. She stopped in the entrance. As the Sargent stepped toward her car, Lorna said, "Hi Pete, how's it going?" "Ah Lorna, you know, just doing the job. How are you doin'?" "Oh ya know Pete? It could be a lot better and it could be worse... I do know one thing for sure... It seems that everything I say or do just makes it worse." "Well, just so you'll know. My wife and I, Gary and his wife are all praying that you and Hutch will get back together." "I appreciate that Pete. I really do. How's Gary doing?" "Well, since he got on that wheel chair basketball team, his attitude has really improved. And, since Hutch sent in a couple of his hot shot lawyers to rattle a couple of cages, the team is getting to play more games with more teams. Gary has been way up since they beat that college team." "That's good to hear Pete. Listen, you guys want anything, soda or coffee, use a restroom, anything, you just let us know." Lorna handed him her business card, "Also, I haven't been sleeping well at all. So, they just might see me down here at about two in the morning with a jug of coffee and cups for everybody." "OK, those guys would like that." "Good. And Pete? Tell them all that we really appreciate having them out here. It has made this all a lot easier to take." "Thank you, I'll pass that on." "But, ya know Pete? I can't help but think.... Is all this media attention really necessary? I mean it is as if one of us murdered the other." "Yeah Lorna, I know what you are saying. But, you know the media. With everything you Hutch and Mister and Missus Baker have accomplished in this city, your husband's success, well, it puts you two up on a high perch. They seem to think that it is their calling to knock you off of it." "Yeah Pete, I guess you are right about that. Anyway, thank you and all the others that come out here. At least we picked some decent weather for it." Pete laughed, "Yeah, that's true. Catch you later Lorna." She noticed two reporters crossing the street toward her car. Lorna pushed the accelerator to the floor and again made it to the garage just as the door opened high enough for her car to clear it. She reminded herself to call her contact at the newspapers society page. Maybe an exclusive interview with her would tend to take the wind out of the sails of those other annoying jerks. Once in her home, Lorna called Ken and changed their plans. She would pick him up at his condo. She then made her self a blender full of Pina colada and went out by the pool. Kicking off her shoes, she stuck her panty hose clad feet into the water. Setting on the edge, she sipped her frosty drink and said to herself, "Lorna Jean? What a mess you have made of things and what you are doing this weekend will definitely make it worse..Well then, Lorna? Why the hell are you doing it???" However, unaware of the web cams through out the house, including her bedroom and the guest bedroom, ego and vanity puffed to their peaks, she would go on ahead with her plans. Friday afternoon - Second week As Ken Burns ducked down in the passenger seat of Lorna's car, he chuckled to himself, thinking, "Yeah babe, I'm going to fuck you in your own bed. I'll bet anything that I'll get that tight virgin ass of yours and not just once, either." However, he thought back to his last conversation with Beth Meyers and asked himself, "Is this really a good idea?" But, he just could not resist the chance to complete his conquest of the wealthy socialite, Missus Hutchinson. Lorna waived at the officers as she turned into the driveway. When her car slowed two of the reporters, realizing that they missed an opportunity when she stopped and talked to one of the officers earlier previously, came running across the street. As before, she gunned the car and had almost covered the length of the driveway before the garage door was fully open. As the door closed behind them, Lorna glanced over at the bare spot where Hutch normally parked his car. It was not unusual for her to arrive home before him, however, his place in the garage had remained empty for the last two weeks. Coupled with some of the events of the last few days, it was becoming a little unsettling for her. Was the divorce the right thing to do. Or, was it premature? God knows she still loved her husband. As they entered the house, Lorna thought about the discussion she had with Hutch that morning. Per usual lately, he remained cool, calm and collected.. While she went into her usual rant about him neglecting her and never being there for the kids. Everything he said was rational, reasonable and logical. Therefore, it was in total order. Like so many witnesses, his comments had driven her up the wall. This time was a bit different. He actually raised his voice to the level of a shout. Again as usual, she ended the "discussion" by screaming, yelling, crying and snapping her phone shut. Then screaming at her phone, "Damn you, Norman! I should not at all try to talk to you! I have my own attorney now, who talks your language! I will leave it all to her!" Easier said than done, Lorna. Leading Ken to the refrigerator, Lorna dug out two sodas. As they stood in the kitchen, talking, Kathy joined them. Lorna introduced Ken to Kathy, who commented, "You're the one that kissed my mother on the dance floor and started this whole mess, aren't you?" Ken said nothing as Lorna responded indignantly, "Young lady, we will not discuss the matter of your father and I while Ken is our guest here this weekend." "Mahm?? Don't you think that this is the last guy on the face of this earth that you should have over here for a weekend?" Again indignantly, Lorna responded, "Katherine!?! It this is just as much my house as it is your father's. I will have who I want here when I want, for as long as I want." "Mahm?? You say that dad doesn't take the time to understand you. Well, it's obvious that you haven't taken the time to understand him. Dad is not going to give you this divorce and he will find out about your weekend house guest." Unaware of the web cam recording their discussion, Kathy did not know that Hutch's team was already aware that Ken was in fact at their home. Her daughter's comments rattled Lorna. They made her realize that a major portion of her husband's practice was forensic audits. The cold chill came over her when she thought that Hutch was giving her enough rope to hang herself and Ken. That nothing would ever be the same as it once was even a month ago. "That's enough, Kathy! Anyway, I don't feel like cooking tonight..." Lorna wished at that time that like most of her friends, she had hired a cook. But, up until recently, it was something she enjoyed doing for her family. "How about pizza? A large one should do the three of us. Kathy? Go ask the police officers out front if they want some pizza and what they want on it." Once Kathy had cleared the front door, Ken asked, "What did she mean by her comments?" Lorna took a long draw on her can of soda, then said, "Don't worry about it. Let's just enjoy the weekend." However, she was thinking, "You haven't got the slightest idea who Norman Hutchinson is or what he can do to you. But, I'll bet anything that he knows everything there is to know about you, Kenneth Burns. I cannot help but think that I am leading you down a some rosy path that is going to get you very badly hurt, if not dead." She turned to Ken and said, "Why don't you put your clothes and things in the guest bedroom. That should give us some since of propriety." "Yeah, right. Okeh Lorna. I'll be right back." Ken said as he turned to go back into the garage. Saturday afternoon - Second week Lorna sat reading by the pool as Kathy, one of her friends and Ken played in the water. Lorna gazed at Ken over her book, thinking, "We did it twice last night and I didn't get it off once. He wasn't even a good as a warm body next to me in bed. I still found myself up at two in the morning filling a brandy snifter with wine, adding a couple of shots of rum, then surfing the net. Reading sexy stories on sights like Literotica. His one size fits all sex has got to stop. Maybe I can give him some instructions on how I like it. Then tonight we'll both get lit on Pina coladas and really get it on, just like those stories on the net." But, the question still remained in her mind. "What really did she expect to accomplish by bringing Ken into her home? Kathy was right. Hutch will find out, if he doesn't already know." she whispered to herself. It did not surprise her that Norman brought in Jeremy. Nor did it surprise her that Jeremy brought in his best specialist in high profile divorces. What would stun her was the comprehensive efficiency of the two teams that Hutch and Jeremy had brought into the whole affair. Her thoughts turned to Kathy. Seventeen, going on eighteen, her curves were developing very well. Like her mother, she was smart and beautiful. Kathy also had what her father called natural lawyer abilities. Her attributes included a sizable vocabulary and a reading speed of 1500 words per minute. As Ken played with the two high school girls, he couldn't help checking out Lorna, stretched out on a lounge chair a few feet from the water's edge. Tight body, curves where they were suppose to be, and tantalizing long legs. Smart but rather submissive, she was the type of woman that had turned him on since he was fourteen years old. However, there was that inner voice telling him that he should have called it all off after the media frenzy over that kiss at the School District's party. The society pages made him look like some gigolo trying to break up one of the most stable marriages in the highest level of the city's society. He got the feeling that many of the writers in the paper and for TV were simply afraid of this guy "Hutch." Also, what about Kathy's comment yesterday afternoon? Had he gotten in over his head? Nah, not Ken Burns, lady killer. Was she becoming more than just a conquest? Was he falling in love with a her? That still small voice continued to tell him that he should not have come here this weekend.. But the chance to get her in her marital bed was just to good to pass up and unlike the others, he simply enjoyed being with her. She had denied him her ass again last night, but his ego demanded it. He needed to complete his conquest. Maybe he could get her drunk enough tonight to get his cock up her ass a couple of times." he thought as he continued to play with the girls in ignorant bliss. Having no clue as to the price he would pay for trying to make a slut out of Lorna Jean Hutchinson, he certainly was not aware of the price Beth would pay for even taking Lorna's case. About eleven that evening, a well lit Lorna and Ken stumbled up the stairs to the bedrooms. Lorna's swim suit bottoms were off, her pool shirt hanging on her elbows and swim suit top down around her waist. She had finally gotten him to work her clit with his tongue. But still, he was no Hutch. Ken had dropped his swim trunks, leaving him naked. They fell about midway up the stairs, she giggled, he laughed, they fondled each other, then continued onto the bedroom. Due to the well placed web cams and audio bugs, none of this would go unnoticed by Hutch's team. Stumbling into the bedroom with Lorna, the laughing Ken thought, "Yeah, she's drunk enough... I'll get her on her knees, sucking my tool up and hard. Then I'll fuck that snug pussy, and then, yeah, then I'll fuck that virgin ass." What Ken did not fully comprehend was that the social drinker, Lorna had paced her self through out the evening. Granted she had one recent event where she was unable to control her drinking. However, Lorna was one to learn from her mistakes and certainly not repeat them. They fell onto the bed, she worked him up with her hand and he managed to get it in her pussy. A few strokes later, he went off. Then he rolled off her and passed out. Lorna lay on her back, thinking, "What the hell just happened here?" She gave him a shake and said, "Ah come on Ken, it's not over yet..." No movement. Lorna pushed Ken to one side of the bed, peeled off the covers of the other side, rolled him over to that side and covered him. She slipped on some panties and a night gown, grabbed the comforter off the foot of the bed and lay down next to him. She tried to sleep, only to find herself wide awake, staring at the ceiling. She was certainly not mellow enough to ignore her forebodings of the future, beginning Sunday morning. Hutch's Property Ch. 02 I stand corrected on a gross error in chapter one that definitely should have been caught in proof reading. Hutch's football position in college was a fullback, not a linebacker. I have watched enough football in my life to have known the difference. To the other comments - Truth is always stranger than fiction. Yes, Hutch could have nipped it in the bud. However, he knew his wife well enough to wait. The results have proven to be much more desirable. Basic Behavior Science tells us that values control attitudes and behaviors. What Ken did to Lorna and was trying to do to Kathy, was what men have been doing to women since the beginning of recorded history. He first managed to instill a temporary change of values. He would have made those changes permanent had he been allowed to continue. Two AM Sunday morning - Third week. A slight hangover beginning to set in and guilt rampaging through her heart and mind, Lorna slipped on a full length, quilted robe with matching booties. She then stumbled into the master bath for some Alka-Seltzer. Feeling much better, she went into one of the bedrooms that faced the front yard. Noting that there were two police cars, she was able to count three police officers and two media vans across the street. Now quite sober and very wide awake, she descended the stairs, thinking, "Don't those media people have better things to do then pester us?" In the kitchen, Lorna started the thirty cup coffee maker. While it did its thing, she went into the cupboard and found a cake mix aptly called "coffee cake." Reading the instructions, she determined that her conviction air oven would have the cake finished about the time the coffee was ready. With the cake in the oven, she drew out two pump canisters and a picnic basket. Two canisters of coffee in one hand and the picnic basket full of cake, cups, cream and sugar, in the other hand, Lorna walked down the drive way to join the officers, not noticing her son, Randy's car parked on the far side of the garages. He had arrived from West Point after Lorna and Ken had gone up to the master bedroom and before the changing of the police guard. So, the current shift of officers were unaware of exactly whose car it was parked by the garages. She approached the group of officers, noticing one was female, and announced, "Lady and gentlemen? I bring coffee and goodies." She glanced across the street and breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed no activity among the media vans. Once they all had a cup of coffee and a piece of cake in hand, Steve Jenkins, the corporal in charge, asked, "How's it going, Missus Hutchinson?" Recognizing him, Lorna answered with, "Oh Steve, you can call me Lorna. Ah, to answer your question, like shit, Steve, like shit... Over the last few weeks I have said and done all the wrong things at the wrong time and for the totally wrong reasons. I'm afraid that I have managed to make a mess of our twenty five year marriage. I don't think I even know who I am, for sure, anymore. Ah, I've made such a mess of things, I don't even know where to start to fix it." Steve stepped a little closer to Lorna and said in a gentle but authoritarian tone, "Lorna? I've known you and Hutch for quite a few years, now and it's not hard to tell that you two belong together. So, I'd be willing to bet that if you'll eat a little crow and step to the center, well, I'll just bet that he'd eat some, too and meet you there." Lorna took a big draw on her coffee, then said, "Yeah Steve, I think you are right about that. I'll give what you said some serious thought." It was becoming very clear to her that filing for divorce was a rash, ill-conceived decision. She changed the subject, going on to talk to the officers about their wives, girl friend and boy friend. Then about three am she left the remaining coffee with the officers and went back to bed in the guest bedroom. She had taken the first step back to Hutch by getting the focus off of herself. However, for Lorna, the very worst of it all was yet to come in that new and dawning week. Later on Sunday morning - Third week About eight thirty that morning, after a couple of hours of sleep and a long shower, Lorna made her way down the stairs toward the kitchen to make some coffee and start breakfast. The first thing she noticed when entering the kitchen was that someone had already made the coffee. She looked toward the breakfast nook in the bay windows of the house's turret and found someone she would rather not face right then, her second child. "Randy!?! What are you doing here???" Dressed in his cadet uniform, Randy stood up and said in the same posture and tone as his father, "I talked to dad, then Kathy and did not like what I heard. So, I came home to see for myself. Tim couldn't get away, or he would be here, also. What's going on mom? What the hell made you want to file for divorce?" "You.., ah...You just don't understand, Randy..ah..." stammered Lorna. "Mahm!! I am not a little boy anymore. I am in my third year at West Point, carrying a three point eight grade average and now a cadet captain. I have finished my first season on the Army varsity football team. I have lived for the last two and a half years or so under a strict code of conduct. I had parents who instilled a value system in us so I could be what I am today and what I intend to be in the future. Mahm? I think I understand, So, tell me, why the divorce?!?" "Oh Randy. It seems Like I was a single parent so often, Your dad missed Kathy's last open house, she ah, had a lot to see there. He ah..." "Mahm? There is no doubt in my mind that you were the better parent in a lot of ways, even dad admits that. You were always there at our open houses and other events. But, when we needed him, he was always there for us. Who taught Tim and I how to throw a block, catch a pass or make a tackle? Who taught all three of us how to drive? Then took the time to be there with us when we took our driving test?" Knowing that she did not have the patience or internal fortitude to teach anyone how to drive and beginning to fold, Lorna said meekly, "But, but, I just felt like I was doing it all by myself. I ah..." "Mother?!? When I was fourteen I sat out there in the living room and listened to the Army recruiter talk to and you and Tim about West Point. I decided then that the Point was where I wanted to go to school and an Army officer was what I wanted to become. The next day, I rode my bike to dad's office. What? Five or six miles, at that time? His secretary told me that he was in a very critical deposition, but she would let him know that I was in the office. He followed her out of the room and ask me how I got there. I told him that I rode my bike. He said it must be very important to me and led me into his office. I told him what I wanted to do in life. So, he made a call and put it on speaker phone. It was the commander of the State's National Guard, himself a West Point grad. Dad was there with me all the way in preparing my winning application. Over thirty thousand people applied for about twelve hundred openings at the Point that year. Dad's still there for me and Tim. You know very well that dad was instrumental in clearing the way for Tim to get into the Harvard MBA program. His influence put Kathy into Harvard Law. And mother? You know he's always been there for you when it made a difference." Before Lorna could respond, Kathy strolled into the kitchen area, She was wearing her string bikini with a pool shirt, unbuttoned. "Good morning mom. How's breakfast coming? Do I have time for a swim?" Then she noticed her brother, "Randy?!? How long have you been here?" Now standing with hands on his hips, Randy answered his sister, "I arrived about one this morning." Then turning his attention back to Lorna, "Mother?? Dad's gone a few of days and you are allowing your daughter to dress like that?!? Her bikini doesn't cover a damn thing! Kathy? Why don't you just do without? Skinny dip like most sluts?" "Randall?!? Do not talk about your sister like that!!" Lorna exclaimed, realizing that it was Ken that talked her into letting Kathy buy the bikini at Victoria's Secret the previous morning. Before anything else could be said by any of the three, Ken strolled in and whined, "Ya got anything for a rotten hangover?" The breakfast nook being raised six or eight inches made the broad shouldered, six foot three Army linebacker look like a giant to the one hundred fifty pound, five foot eleven, Ken. A couple of drinks and a puffed ego allowed Ken to step between Randy's father and mother at the school district's party. However, today he had a huge hangover and his ego was damaged again by failing to complete his conquest of Lorna. He was in no condition the face any kind of confrontation, especially from the giant West Point cadet glaring down at him. After looking Ken over , Randy said, "So mother? Is this who you have been fucking? Now in your marital bed??" "Randall!!" Lorna screamed "We don't use language like that around here and you know it!! And, especially when we have guests..." "Mother!!" Randy responded, raising his voice slightly, "Sluts fuck and get fucked. I am simply using the proper terms for the situation. Kind of robbing the cradle, aren't you?" He looked over Ken, again, "You've spent the last twenty five years feasting on steak. Now, you've chosen to settle for a fast food burger. That's a slut as far as I am concerned." Kathy shot back, "Randy! Don't talk about our mother like that!!!" Randy glared at his sister, and his mother. Then in the tone of a pissed off Army officer, "It is a historical fact that she is our mother. However, only sluts fuck other men in their marital bed. And, you dear sister are certainly dressed like one. Our code of conduct prevents me from hanging around sluts. So, I'll gather my gear and head back to the Point." He then stepped out of the nook and exited to go to his room. Lorna placed her elbows on the breakfast bar, buried her face in her hands and began to sob. Ken turned to Kathy and said, "I think I should go. Could you run me home?" He checked his pocket and realized that he had his wallet and keys. He looked toward Lorna, "Ah Lorna? I'll call ya in a couple of days." No response from the sobbing woman. Her son had brought it all home to roost. Randy's comments had hit Lorna's ego like a torpedo. His actions pierced her like a arrow deep into her heart. Kathy grabbed her purse, slipped on some sandals and a full length coat. Then said to Ken, "OK, come on. You can come back and get your things later." She realized that the best thing she could do at the time was to get Ken out of their home. A few minutes later Lorna began to recover some of her composure. She realized that she was alone in the house, so she changed into a one piece swim suit and did what she usually did in case of stress overload, swim laps. Monday morning - Third week Lorna rose early after a lonely, sleepless night. The highlight of her night was to take a jug of coffee and donuts down to the two officers at about two in the morning. Dragging herself into the shower, she mentally reviewed her schedule for the day. A team had been working on the revamping of a major portion of the elementary curriculum and she was to present their proposal to Paul Allen at eight am. So, she wanted to get in a little early to review the proposal before presenting it. Such an important day needed to be started early, so she left the house before Kathy was out of bed. Sitting in the superintendent's office, Lorna watched as he read her presentation. Paul closed the booklet and looked at her, "Lorna? I can't present this to the Board tonight. It has some problems. It is better that I give it back to you now, than to have the Board throw it back at both of us. I'll tell you what I'll do, here. I'll itemize my concerns and get it back to you this afternoon. Then you will have two weeks to revise your proposal. Ah, Lorna? I realize that things are strained in your personal life right now. However, I had hoped that you could separate work from problems at home. Ah, this presentation tells me that very possibly, you haven't. What's going on with you and Ken Burns?" Lorna sat up straight in her chair, "That's over, Paul. I let things go much further than they should have. But as of yesterday, it's over. I do not know what I am going to do about the divorce. However, I will keep you posted. And Paul, I will try to keep home problems at home and work problems at work." "OK Lorna, I appreciate that. I'll get this presentation back to you as soon as I can." Standing up, Lorna said, "Ah, I really thought we had covered everything. Ah, Well OK. We'll get right on it..." As she left Paul's office, her cell phone rang. It was her daughter's high school. Until two months previous, she was one of the vice principals at the same school. It was her former office phone number that came up on her phone. She answered, "Lorna Hutchinson!" "Ahh, Lorna?" said a familiar voice. It was Clair Jensen, Lorna's former secretary. "Yes, Clair. How can I help you?" "Ah, Lorna? We have Kathy here in the office..." "Why?!? Is she hurt? What's wrong???" "Umm, her first period teacher, Missus Shaffer sent her here because she doesn't meet the dress code. Can you come and get her?" "She WHAT???" "Lorna? You have to see it to believe it. If you can get here in the next half hour, we can keep this off the record." replied Clair. Lorna sighed, "I'm on my way." Entering the high school, Lorna thought about how she had been on the panel that tightened up the dress code for students, teachers and administrators. Entering the vice principal's outer office, she found her daughter standing against the wall. Kathy was dressed in short shorts and a sleeveless pullover that exposed her navel. Lorna placed her hands on her hips and almost screamed, "What the...? Katherine?? What do you call this?? Was your brother right?!?" Kathy blushed and looked at the floor. Clair rose from her desk, "Ah, Lorna? Your replacement, George Brown is in a meeting. If you can get her out of here now, then back properly dressed and into class, Judy Shaffer has agreed to help me keep this off the record., this time..." Noticing that Kathy had a mid-thigh length jacket, Lorna snapped, "Young lady? Get that jacket on and let's get out of here, right now!!" Then turning to Clair, "Thanks, I owe you and Judy one..." Clair smiled, "It's OK Lorna. You know that I've been where you are right now. But, that's not all. Our usually four point oh student here, blew all her mid-terms last week. She is currently at a one point nine maybe two point oh..." "What?!?" Lorna screamed. This was becoming a little to much to take. She turned to Kathy, "Get your little ass out to the car. You have some real explaining to do, young lady!!" In the car, they rode in silence for a few blocks. Then Lorna demanded, "Well?? Tell me why you came to school in that git-up? You know the dress code. You also know that your mother helped write it!" "Ah, well mom, ah, when you let me get the bikini, Ken said I should lighten up on what I wear. That I dressed to conservative and looked up tight. I ah, well, you let me buy that bikini and you let him in your bed, did it with him there too., I ah..." "Oh, good God." thought Lorna, "Ken again. On and on it goes. I have made a total mess out of my family." She glanced over at Kathy, " Damn, Ken again... And, the mid-terms? You know that your father pulled a lot of strings to get you into Harvard Law." "Ahh mom, all the shit that's been goin' down in the last couple o' weeks, well, I just didn't feel like studying." Lorna swerved into her driveway, waived at the police and came to a screeching halt in the garages. She turned to Kathy, "After the events of yesterday morning, I just cannot believe that you would do something like this." She waived her hand at Kathy's clothes, "That, gawd that git-up. Now, get your ass upstairs and into something decent and make it quick. We still might get you back before the end of first period. I'll be here, waiting!" As she waited, Lorna thought about what she had said to Kathy about her father's help in getting her into one of the finest law schools in the nation. It became very clear to her that if she really wanted to get back together with her husband, she would have to eat a lot of her own words. Driving home that afternoon, Lorna thought almost out load, "Well, at least the meeting with the coaches went well. I'm glad this day is over and I hope the rest of the week gets better." No such luck, Lorna. It would only get much worse before it became any better. Later in the afternoon, Lorna called her daughter, "Where are you?" "Ah, three of my teachers will let me take the mid-terms over and the others gave me extra credit. So now, I'm at the public library outlining how I'm going to do the extra credit." "Oh, OK Kathy. Good girl. Umm, about dinner. Pick up something on your way home for both of us. Anything you want and not too much for me..." "OK mom. Ah and I'm sorry about Randy, what he said and did..." "Ah Kathy, don't be sorry about that. You and I both know he was right. I have to fix this and get your father back home. But sweetheart, right now, I don't have the slight idea how..." "It'll work out mom. You'll see. I'll be back home in about an hour or so..." "OK Kathy, See you later." With that Lorna collected Kathy's bikini and the skimpy two piece swim suit she had bought at the same time and tossed them into the box for "Goodwill." With a little smile, she stood there for awhile thinking about the attention she and Kathy drew as they tried on the swim suits. She then changed into a one piece swim suit, thinking as she walked to the pool, "Well anyway, at least it covers the stretch marks on my tummy and gives better support to my sagging, 43 year old boobs." While waiting in the drive up line at KFC, Kathy called her father, "Daddy?" "Hi precious. What's up?" "Have you talked to Randy?" "Ohhh yeah. He had just cleared the driveway going back to West Point when he called, mad as a wet hen and extremely disappointed in his mother and sister." Hutch did not tell his daughter that Freddie had brought in a disk that morning of Ken and her mother on Saturday night and the scene with Randy, Sunday morning. "I'm so sorry, daddy. An' I got something else to tell you. Something stupid that I did this morning at school. I know mom will never tell you. But, somebody else might, at the wrong time..." "What's that, Kathy?" Hutch asked, elated that his daughter was willing to confide in him. If her mother had done the same, they may have avoided all of the events of the last month. Kathy went on to tell her dad how she dressed for school that morning and that she had blown her mid-terms. But, that her mother straighten her out about the clothes and her teachers where all helping her recover. "OK precious, sounds like you just got caught up in this whole mess. It appears that you are taking care of your grades and getting them back up where they need to be. How's your mom doing?" "Oh daddy? Especially since Sunday morning with Randy, she is not doing well. I don't think she slept at all last night. I know she takes coffee down to the police in front of the house at around two every morning. She says she wants to fix things between you and her, but she doesn't know how or where to start..." "Well precious, hang in there. It should be all over very soon. Just remember that I love you and I still love your mother, too." "I love you too, daddy. Talk to you later." Tuesday morning - Third week Shortly after arriving at work, Lorna called Jennifer Baker, and asked her to meet for lunch. Since Jenny was a flexible, stay home mom, they agreed on a café rear Lorna's work. She then went on to busy herself with work, especially the presentation and addressing Paul's concerns. Then she went on to meet Jenny for lunch. Both women were born in Georgia, into affluent families. So, when they got together, they spoke in the smooth vernacular of a southern belle. Hutch's Property Ch. 02 Jenny was already seated when Lorna arrived, "Hi Jenny, how ya doin'?" "Iahm doin' fine. However, Lorna Jean? It doesn't sound like you're doin' well, at all." Setting down at the table, Lorna whined, "Oh Jenneee.., lately, I don't know much about nothin'. Mid-life crisis or somethin' like that. In the last couple of weeks I've manage to make a total wreck out of our marriage and our whole family." She was hesitant to tell Jenny about the scene with Randy on Sunday morning or Kathy on Monday morning. But, Jenny was her very best friend, so Lorna told her anyway. "Well m'dear, over the last thirty some years, you an' I have been able to talk out things like this and avoided such a mess as you have here. But, Lorna Jean? You haven't even called me in a month or more. Now, here ya are, totally upside down. Worst part of it is, what I'm about to tell ya, I know you're not gonna wanta hear. But, you're gonna hear it anyway, 'cause it's your own damn fault." Stunned, Lorna asked, "Jenny?!? What are you talkin' about?" The waitress came and took their orders. When she had left the table, Jenny continued, "Let me just say this, I talked to Hutch last Saturday. He knows that you're fuckin' that guy. He knows how many times, and where.." Lorna gasped, then asked "What do you mean? How does he know that?" "Lorna?? Ya know Kathy talks to him, has all along. And, honey chil' don't you know the capabilities of your own husband's practice and his employees? Hutch brought in Jeremy, of course, who brought in the head of his family law unit to represent Hutch. Jeremy also brought in one of his resident physiologists. Hutch has brought in one of his young lawyers and a young forensic auditor. Both of them are computer nerds." "Is the auditor female? Kinda nerdy lookin'?" "Yep, I think so. He said she is the one they call Missus Columbo 'cause nobody takes her seriously." "Oh nooo. I know some of the people that work for that work for Norm and I thought I recognized her. She was videoing that school district party where everything blew up. Then she was hangin' around at the district office's lunch room all last week. Oh krap, Jenny! I'll just bet she recorded every word Ken an' I said ta each other at lunch." "But, it gets worse Lorna, much worse." "How could it, Jenneee? How could this mess get any worse than it is right now?" "You know Barbara Johnson, the foundations poster lady and I are very good friends?" "Sure, I consider her a good friend, too." "Well, she called me Sunday evenin' a bit distraught. She told me first that she has no intention of being a marriage breaker, annd, that she is really very sorry about what happened. She doesn't wanta talk to you. Afraid you might just bite her head off!" Lorna sat up straight in her chair. Sensing what was coming and diligently trying to maintain her composure, she moaned, "Oh Jen... Barb's a lovely person." Thinking "She sure isn't a slut like me." She continued, "I know she hasn't been with a man since her husband died in that shoot out a year and a half or two years ago. Ahhh, I'm almost afraid to ask, but go ahead, spill it out here." Jenny looked right into the eyes of her best friend. She knew that neither one of them wanted to hear what she had to say. "It seems that Hutch ran into Barb in a supermarket check out line. She asked him why he was buying what he had. Hutch told her that he was tried of eating out. So, she invited him over for supper. Ah Lorna? I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but I'm sure that I am the only one that should and can tell you this, right now. But Lorna Jean? Damn it, like I said, it's your own fault!!" Now, having a good idea of what was coming next, finding it difficult, almost impossible to maintain her composure, Lorna whined a little over a whisper, "Jenneee? The whole damn thing my fault. How could I be so damn stupid." Then with an aspirated exhale, "Okeh, tell me, what happened next?" Jenny blew it all out in one breath, "After the boys went to bed, Barb and Hutch had a glass of brandy, then a second, then a third... One thing lead to another and they went to bed together." Lorna gasped, feeling faint, "Ohhh nooo, nooo, noooo!!!" Then whined, "Normieee?!? I can't handle anymore of this... I need you, pleeease come back to meee, I need you so bad... Oh gawd I wish I could end this nightmare. Wake up, maybe just die, or somethin' like that..." Their lunch was served, giving Lorna some time to compose herself. When the waitress had left the table, she said in little over a whisper, "Jen? I gotta end this, bring it all to a screeching halt. Just fix it somehow. I need Normie back with me, I, ah, I just cannot make it without him. I haven't slept at all since Saturday night. And, since he left, it has only been a couple of hours a night. Then I wake up from nightmares, the worst I've ever had. But Jen, I don't know what to do... I'm so afraid that I'm gonna loose him. I'll just die if I do. Iah jus' know I will...." Jenny placed one hand on her wrist and said calmly, "Lorna? When I talked to Hutch, he told me that you have hurt him very, very badly. But, he also said that he still loves you and that there will be no divorce." She prepared her sandwich and before she took a bite, said, "You've caused him to do things I thought he would never do..." She shook her head, "In all the years I've known him..." "I know Jen. I know and I still love him, Oh how I love him. And Jen, now I know just how much it hurts, how much I have hurt him. Oh krap, just the thought of my husband with another woman, and especially Barb, oh gawd... You and I know that she is no mess around. Ohhh gawd, that makes it hurt so much more. I'll bet they enjoyed one another. Ah.." Under her breath she whispered, "Oh Normie, I'm sorry, so sorry.." Then she said to Jenny, "Ah, I'm gonna tell Norm this, but I gotta tell you, too. Just keep it to yourself, please? Ah, when I couldn't sleep, I went on the internet and read a lot of erotic stories on sites like literotica.com. Many of the cheating wives seem to have one thing in common. Their lovers did it better than their husband did. Their penis' were longer, fatter and they knew how to use it better than the husband. The wives all had wild exciting orgasms... And, yeah, they all claimed it was just sex. Well Jenny, That's not the case with me an' Ken. He's not near as big as Norm and doesn't know or seem to care what to do to make me happy. I've had one small orgasm since he got into my pants. And Jenny? He's always wanting to get into my ass. Norm and I never discussed that. It was never anything we wanted to do..." Jenny chuckled, "OK, you're secret is safe with me. But ah, you know, Lorna? You're not much the cheater. Fantastic wife, mother and do-gooder socialite. But, cheat on your husband, no, I don't think so. You can't even pick'em right. You're just not made that way, neither am I.... Now, eat your sandwich." Jenny said taking a bite of hers. They ate in silence for a couple of minutes. Then Jenny said, "Lorna? I think you should just go to him and crawl, beg him to come back to you. I'd be willin' ta bet he'll meetcha half way." Lorna used her napkin to brush away some tears, "Yeah, I think you're right there., fact is I now know you're right. During the last few nights, I 've found myself about two in the morning, taking coffee and cake or donuts down to the officers keeping the media away from our house. The officer in charge knows all four of us. He told me to do the same thing. Eat some crow, as he put it." Jenny smiled, "Yeah, I think that's what it's gonna take. Although, the first thing I think you should do is.., drop the divorce. He's not gonna give you one, anyway. So, why waste the money on that two bit lawyer of yours?" After lunch, Lorna called her office and told them that she did not feel well. That she would take the remainder of the day off. She did feel sick. But, it was not due to anything other than the knowledge of her husband having sex with someone other than her. It was a long drive home, trying to see through the tears. Jenny was right, it was all her fault and she knew it, too. Once home she threw herself into her bed and sobbed for an hour. A little after two she swam some laps, then went into the kitchen and started coffee maker. She then took a shower and changed clothes. Just as Lorna was about to set down with a cup of coffee, the front door chimes rang. Opening the door, she found a man in a suit, holding a brief case. "Jeremy?!? Ah, oh, is it alright for you to be here without my attorney? I ah, I mean..." "Not to worry, Lorna. I'm not Hutch's attorney and I'm not here to talk about the divorce. I am here to talk to you about a couple of other cases brought on by the divorce in which you are a material witness." "Oh." Lorna sighed, stepping aside to let him in the house, "Well ah, come on in, then. As she closed the door behind them, she said, "Jeremy? Ah, I ah, I'm glad you came by. I had lunch with Jenny, today. I really need you guys, right now. Would you like a cup of coffee? Freshly brewed." "Yeah Lorna, I'd like that. Black's good. And yeah, Jenny called me after your lunch." Lorna motioned for him to take a seat at the breakfast table. He sat down, opened his brief case and withdrew two packs of paper she recognized as legal briefs. Placing a cup of coffee in front of him, Lorna took a seat across the table and asked, "So, what do you have there, Jeremy?" Taking a sip of coffee, Jeremy said, "Well Lorna, let's start with the case against Mister Kenneth Burns." He passed one of the briefs over to her and resumed, "alienation of affection precipitating a divorce..." Reading the first couple of pages, she gasp "Two million??" "Lorna?" Jeremy asked, leaning toward her, "We found that he has a twenty million dollar trust fund put up by his grandfather. This school administration gig is just a cover to get close to women like you. We have found seven other women that he has turned into, well to put it crudely, fuck toys and sluts. That is exactly what he has in mind for you and Kathy." Her head snapped up to look right at him in disbelief and horror. "Yes Lorna, he wants Kathy, too. Talks about popping her cherry after she becomes eighteen. He says she's jail bait right now. Wants to make you two a mother and daughter slut team. A wealthy team of sluts, as he put it." A look of horror still on her face, and still weak from what she heard at lunch with Jenny, she asked in a soft voice, "Ah, ah, Jeremy? Ah, oh no, How do you know all that?" "Lorna?? You don't have the slightest idea of the capabilities of those your husband employs, do you?" Jenny's words of a few hours earlier came back to her, but she had no answer for him. He continued, "They had webcams and audio bugs in this house before that school district party. The Monday after the party they placed them in the master bedroom, guest bedroom, living and family rooms. They have two in the kitchen area and got the whole scene with Randy, last Sunday morning." She gasped, but was still rendered speechless. He went on, "That Saturday after the party, they placed bugs on your cellphone and office phone, Mister Burn's cell and office phone. Your home land line was already bugged. We can't use most of it in court. But, that wasn't the point. We also have your email back about seven months, Ken's too. We knew you we're going to file for divorce that Sunday before Beth filed for you." Lorna gazed at him with both hands over her month. Jeremy continued, ""When you went over to Ken's condo, you were intercepted and followed by one of Hutch's people on his motorcycle. Then they placed tracking devices on both of your cars. When the two of you went to lunch, they placed web cams in his bedroom and living room." Lorna bowed her head, "Oh my God..." "Lorna? You should have known and warned the guy! Your husband and I play in the major leagues. What we are doing here is minor league stuff." Tears rolled down her cheeks as she resumed eye contact with a man she had known for as long as she had known her husband. Across from her sat the best man at her wedding, his wife was the maid of honor. As the tears continued to roll, she whined, "Jeremy? What do I do to get him back. I love him dearly and I need him here with me. I just cannot live without him. Oh Jeremy pleease help me fix this mess I've made of everything." Jeremy said with a bit of an authoritarian tone, "We'll get into that a little later." He pitched another stack of paper over to her and said, "Right now, we need to discuss that case." Lorna, already horrified at what she had heard, gasp and her eyes grew wider. Again, Jeremy himself was the attorney of record. She gasp again when she read that her husband was the plaintiff, the school district the defendants. But, she almost had a heart attack when she read the amount asked in damages, verbalizing it, "Seven and a half million??" Looking up at Jeremy, he gave her that slightly overconfident smile of his, "Yep, that school district has deep pockets, so you know I will get every penny. But, Lorna? You, Ken and Doctor Allen are the main witnesses. Any way it goes down, I'm sure the three of you will be out of a job." He took a sip of coffee, then continued, "Lorna? Listen to me carefully. Either of these law suits could destroy you. Bring you to a point where you would not want to even leave this house. However, the reason they haven't already been filed is because Hutch won't sign them. He still loves his wife. I sincerely do not know why, but he does, very much. If Jenny ever pull on me what you have on Hutch, you know as well I do, my big ol' ego would not tolerate it. I know , I just know that I would handle it a lot differently. She knows it, too. All I can say is that Hutch doesn't function on ego, never has..." Lorna sat stunned, finding it hard to even form words. She had intended to use her friendship with Ken to learn how to better communicate with Hutch and strengthen their marriage. Now, she realized that what Ken was trying to do and that everything gone wrong for her. Nothing was right. She had completely screwed up. The mud she had stepped in was beginning to get above her neck and turning to quick sand. Overwhelmed with it all, she barely heard Jeremy when he said, "You do have one thing going for you here. Hutch sees you as sort of a victim in the ordeal." However, Jeremy's words did give her some encouragement. She gazed across the table at him, tears flowing and whimpered, "Jeremy? You're his very best friend, only real friend. Help me! Pleease Jeremy, pleease?? Help me, pleeease?!?" "OK Lorna, I'll do what I can. The way I see it, there are four actions you need to take. First, you have to clean out your bedroom. Strip it to the walls. Change the color of paint, the pictures on the wall and the carpeting. Buy new furniture. Even place the bed on a different wall. I know a contractor that could get it completed for you tomorrow. Second, call your gynecologist and get a clean bill of health that you can show Hutch. Third, resign your position at the school district." She gasped at that. He continued, "Annd, Lorna? Last, but equally important. Go to him and crawl, literally crawl. Get as low as you can and crawl, beg, plead, gravel. Then, I bet he'll meet you half way. However Lorna, listen to me carefully. That most likely will bring him back and start the healing process. But, it will not happen over night and without quite a bit of effort from both of you." Lorna immediately grabbed her purse and drew out her cell phone. Finding her gynecologist's number in her speed dial, she hit the send button and booked an appointment for the next morning. While she was on the phone, Kathy returned home from school. Terminating the call just as she heard Kathy say, "Hi mom...Oh uncle Jeremy." Giving him a hug, she asked, "What are you doing here?" Jeremy hug her back and said, "Oh just here as an old friend trying to do what I can to help your mom off this slippery slope she's on right now..." Kathy hugged him again, "Thank you, she needs someone like you." Then she turned to her mother, "How ya doin' mom?" Lorna stood up, put her cell phone back into her purse and answered Kathy, "Better now, dear. Much better, now. Jeremy has given me a plan of action and I fully intend to carry it out. You and I will start right now by going out and doing some bedroom furniture shopping." She then went over and hugged Jeremy. "Thank you for being such a good friend. Tell Jenny that I will give her a call. Maybe we can get together again for lunch early next week.." "Sure Lorna. I think she would like that. She wants to do what she can for the two of you." "What about that guy, Ken?" blurted Kathy, "He still has his stuff here from last weekend." Lorna stood looking at her daughter with no thought of what to say. Jeremy asked, "How far does he live from here?" Lorna replied, "About twenty minutes..." Jeremy smiled and said, "Get him on the phone. Tell him it is over. To come and get his belongings. I'll bet he'll be here in less than eighteen minutes." Lorna made the call, then turned to Kathy, " Run down and tell the police to let him by..." Then turning back to Jeremy, "I'll be right back. I'm going upstairs to get his stuff..." Jeremy had glanced at his watch when Lorna made the call to Ken. Now alone, he strolled over to the kitchen and poured himself another cup of coffee, thinking, "The shit is about to hit the fan and most of it is gonna get all over you, Kenneth Burns." In a little less than seventeen minutes, a car screeched to a halt in front the house. Finding the front door unlocked, Ken burst into the house. Lorna pointed to his belongings. As Ken gather them together, he looked at Jeremy, then back to Lorna and asked snidely, "Who's this guy? My replacement?" Lorna just gave him a little smile and said politely, "No Ken, this is Jeremy Baker, an old friend of the family. He's here to show me a couple of lawsuits. One is against you for alienation of affection. The second is against the school district for failure to enforce their fraternization policy." Ken immediately recalled what Beth had told him about Jeremy the week before. That he did not file a lawsuit unless he intended to win and better than ninety percent of the time he did. Rapidly losing color in his face Ken searched for something to say. Finally, with all his belongings in his arms, "Well, Lorna Jean, you are a beautiful woman and one hell of a good fuck. But, you are just to expensive for my blood." With that he exited. Jeremy wanted to make a comment about Lorna's choice of lovers. However, he thought it inappropriate and held his tongue. Concluding that Randy's comments said it all. Friday afternoon - third week Hutch had just returned from lunch when Freddie called, "Hey Freddie, what's up?" "Hey boss, your wife's car just entered the parking garage." "Good, thank you Freddie." Hutch closed the cell phone and walked out into the outer office, "Janet? Lorna is on her way up here. Show her into my office as soon as she arrives." "Yes sir." responded Janet with a big smile. Then in a more gentle tone, "Ah, sir?" About to return to his office, Hutch spun around to face her, "Yes, Janet." "Ah sir? In addition to everything else, after listening to Mister and Missus Baker yesterday and watching that scene with your son on Sunday, ah sir? She is very fragile right now. So, be nice, Try to meet her half way." Hutch gave her a little smile. "Yes Janet, you are very right there. I must admit that I am on some very unfamiliar terrain here. But yes, I will try to meet her half way. I don't really know where that is right now, but let's try to remember our number one desired result. You know that I love my wife and that I want nothing else but to be back with her..." Hutch's Property Ch. 02 Janet smiled as Hutch returned to his office. About twenty minutes later, Janet ushered Lorna in and closed the door behind her. She took a few steps into his office, stopping about four feet from the desk. He looked her over, realizing that he had a broken woman standing before him. Wearing an "Army" short sleeve sweat shirt and indiscriminate pants, her hair was simply combed out slightly past her shoulders. Dark circles around her eyes from the lack of sleep, she wore no make up. Head bowed slightly, eyes cast down, shoulders slumping, Hutch had never seen his wife looking so bad. Even at each of her parent's funerals, or the report of her brother's death in Iraq. True to form, Hutch remained silent, allowing his adversary, Lorna was still at that time and place his adversary, to speak first. She held her purse in one hand and two sheets of paper in the other. Hutch knew she was trembling due to the rattling of the papers. In a meek, shaky voice she whimpered, "Normie? I ah, I ah, well ah, I surrender, run up the white flag. I need you , oh gawd I need you. I know I messed up everything a whole lot. Can you forgive me, please, Normie, Pleease??" Gone was the arrogant, condescending bitch. What stood before him now was merely a shadow of his wife and Janet was very right, a fragile one at that. In the softest, gentlest voice he could muster, however, still the lawyer in settlement negotiations, he asked, "What do you propose?" Still in a meek, defeated tone, she said in little over a whisper. "Ah, ah, well umm, Jeremy came over to the house on Tuesday. Ah, he ah, he gave me a plan of action to start the process. To ah well, get us back together? He also showed me two lawsuits. Ah, Ohhh Normie, they would both make me look like some dumb ass slut. He said that the only reason he had not filed was because you wouldn't sign them?!?" Still in a gentle voice, but also still the lawyer in negotiations, he asked, "So? What's your plan of action?" His tone of voice and willingness to listen to her put Lorna a little more at ease. "Ah, First point. I ah, well, I had our bedroom remodeled. I mean repainted, new carpet, ah furniture, ah rearranged?" He knew about the remodel. A crew was sent in right after she left for work on Wednesday to remove all his video and audio equipment from the bedroom. Still trembling, Lorna handed him one of the sheets of paper. "Second point." She said in a little more audible voice, "I went to my gynecologist and she gave me a clean bill of health and a lecture on doing stupid things. She's on your side. It seems that everybody is on your side in this mess. I ah..." Hutch took the report from her and glanced over it. The laid it down on his desk and returned his gaze back to his wife. She adjusted her stance a bit, then handed him a second sheet of paper. This was the first indication that she was serious. Her hand was visibly shaking and the paper was rattling as she extended it across the desk. Again in a very meek tone, "Ah, third is that I ah, well ah, that I resign from the school district... Ah, Normie? I realized that I just can't do the job without you..." Ending the sentence in a whine. She shifted her weight from one leg to the other. "Normeee? I ah, I don't even want to try to do the job without your help..." Hutch had to take into consideration the fact that she had worked long and hard to get where she was with the school district. Her intentions were completely honorable and respectable. It troubled him to know how much it hurt her to give it all up. However, he could not help but feel some elation over the fact that she was willing to give up her position to get them back together. He read the letter of resignation carefully as he would any document so pertinent to a case. Then when he glanced back to where she had been standing, Lorna was not there and nowhere to be seen. Next thing he knew, she came crawling, on her belly, around the left side of his desk. Tears flowing as she approached him. She whined even more meekly, "Ummm, Ummm, Jeremy said that, umm, I should get as low as I can and crawl, beg, plead and gravel? Pleease Normee, please forgive this dumb slut.... I'm so sorry, I ah...." She wrapped her arms around his left leg and rested her head on his knees. "Please come home. Pleease, I ah, I can't... Oh Normee, I can't even sleep without you there with me. I need you Normeee!!" Noticing her purse on his desk, he thought of one last test of her sincerity. Hutch removed her cell phone from the purse, taking note that it was turned off. He held the phone in front of her face and said, "Call your attorney and ask her to file a request to withdraw your petition for divorce.." How quickly she reacted to his request would tell him quite a bit. Without hesitation, she snatched the phone out of his hand, turned it on and leaned against the desk drawers. Finding her lawyers number in her speed dial, she placed the call. It was answered, "Elizabeth Meyers office." Lorna pressed "speaker" on her phone so Hutch could hear the whole conversation. She then said, "Hi Carolyn, this is Lorna Hutchinson." "Oh hi Missus Hutchinson. How can I help you?" "Is Beth in?" "Ah no ma'am, she won't be back until Monday. Can I take a message?" "Yes you can. Tell her that I would like to withdraw my petition for divorce." "Oh OK, I can prepare the request for your signature. If you can be here before five today and sign it, I'll place it on her desk. From her comments lately, I don't think that she will hesitate one moment to get it filed." said the bubbly Carolyn. Her comment brought a little smile of victory to Hutch's lips. "OK Carolyn, thank you. It's one thirty. I can be over there in fifteen or twenty minutes..." OK Missus Hutchinson. I'll have it ready for you. Oh, and come in the back way and take those back elevators. There are no reporters back there. We have a couple of high profile divorces like yours going on. So, watch out, they are all over the place. They even tried to camp here in the office. Beth had to call security to get rid of them." "Thank you Carolyn, I'll see you in a few minutes." said Lorna. Then she closed her phone and handed it back to Hutch. He handed her a list of three items to accomplish. She looked at the list, then read it out loud, "Number one. Sign the request. Number two. Kay dash why jelly? What's that? Where do I get it?" She asked looking up at him. It was the first time she had made eye contact with him since entering his office. He smiled slightly at her naivete, realizing how sheltered a life she lived. "You can get it at drug stores, sex shops and erotic book stores. Places like that." Lorna vaguely recognized the jelly from the stories she had read on the internet. She looked at the list and then back at him, "Normie? I've never been in places like that. I ah I don't think I want to walk into a drug store and ask for it. I'd feel like I was asking for condoms when we were in high school." Now Hutch was struggling to keep a straight face. But, Oh how he loved his wife, "Look them up in the yellow pages. Ask the clerk, it's a common item in those places." "OK well, .." Then she read the third item and smiled, "Number three. Two big juicy steaks and all the fixin's? Does that mean you'll be comin' home? T'night? Maybe..?" "I'll be there at about five thirty or six. If Kathy will be there, get her a steak, too."She threw herself into his lap, "Thank you my husband. I ah, I said something that I need to take back. Ah..." "What's that?" "I said that maybe I didn't love you any more. Oh Normie? I do love you, I have always loved you and always will love you. I love you with all my heart, an' an', I've missed you so much, Oh how I have missed you. Come home to a great dinner and anything else you want from the dumb slut. Make her your slut..." He touched her for the first time in almost a month by running his hand over her cheek and into her hair. Then, again in the softest most loving tone he could muster, but still firm, "I don't want a personal slut. I want my wife back. Somebody has trespassed and tried to take her from me and I don't like that one bit." She looked up at him, "I'm really sorry that I let it happen. I won't ever do that again. Come home an' reclaim your property." She stood up and said, "I promise you this my dear husband, you won't ever be sorry that you did..." "I'll see you around five thirty or six" She managed another smile, then turned a left the room. He watched her leave thinking, "Much more lively stride then when she came in, but certainly not the erect posture and fluid movements of my wife. Head still bowed, shoulders slumped, I've never seen her so down and defeated. I pray that I will never see her like that again." A short time later, Janet poked her head in the door, "Good job, sir. She left smiling." "Thank you Janet. Get Mister Baker on the phone for me, please." A few minutes later, Janet's voice came over the intercom, "Mister Baker on line two." "Hey Buddy." Greeted Hutch. "She was in here a few minutes ago. Looks like our plans have come together and broke the bitch, she gone. The real Lorna is about to reemerge" Jeremy chuckled, "Good, Hutch. How's she doin'?" "Oh man, Jeremy. She looks terrible. I hope and pray that I never see her lookin' like she did today, never ever again. You remember how she looked at her brother's funeral?" "Oh yeah, I do." "Well, double that, maybe even triple it. But, I cheered her up some. I sent her off to sign the request to withdraw her petition. Then I had her chase down some KY jelly and told her I'd be home around six today." Jeremy was hilariously laughing, "Hutch, I've known you all these years and you still surprise me." Some more laughter, "You're gonna take what she refused that jerk Burns, aren't you?" "Yep, ol' buddy. I may never do it to her there ever again. But, tonight, yeah, once or twice just to let her know who owns it all. If that's the way it has to be for now on...." Jeremy gained some control of himself, but Hutch could tell that he was still smiling. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Jenny and I did it there a couple of times early in our marriage and that the way it came across to her. We haven't done it there since. Anyway, did she crawl?" "On her tummy, as low as she could get. But, what really let me know that she was serious was when she handed me that letter of resignation. You could see and feel her hurt over that piece of paper." "Well, it sure lets you know that she values her marriage and family over anything else. She fell into one of life's traps and I am glad we were here to help you get her out of it." "Yeah, it was good to have you there with me, Jeremy. You know that if you ever find yourself in any kind of mess like this, I'm there for you." "Thanks ol' buddy. Listen, I'll talk to you Monday. Spend the weekend with that prodical wife of yours. Remind her who it is that really loves her." "Yeah, that's my plan. I'll talk to you Monday." Lorna slipped in and out of her lawyer's office apparently unnoticed, thinking, "This nightmare might be over soon, hopefully." Out on the street, she phoned Randy. Catching him between classes. "Hello, mother." he answered in an insistent tone. Sounding so much like his father. "Hi Randy." said Lorna in a contrite tone. "Ah, I wanted to let you know that I dropped the divorce, ah well, it will be filed Monday..." "Hey, that's good to here. One big step in the right direction. You haven't been doing much of that, lately." "I know Randy. But ah, your dad is coming home tonight and we are going to try to fix things." "Well mother, that is certainly good to hear. Another big step in the right direction. Ah mom? I'm almost to my next class. But, I am really glad you called." "Ah Randy? One more thing. Your dad gave me a list of a couple of items to get for tonight. One is kay dash why jelly? I don't want to just walk into any drug store and ask for it. He said I could get it at a sex shop or erotic book store?" Lorna could hear what she thought was a chuckle from her son. Then he asked, "Where are you right now, mom?" "I'm about a block and a half from your dad's office building." "South?" "Ah yes, I think so. Yes, south of it." "OK, you should see a street that goes off to the east. About a block and a half down that street, you should see an alley off to your right. Down that alley about fifty feet, you should find an erotic book store. I'm sure they will have it. It was good to hear from you, mom. You've made my day. I'll call Tim tonight and let him know." "OK, Randy. I love you." "I love you too, mom. It's good to have you back. Talk to you later." With that, he terminated the call. Lorna stepped out of the small shop reading the label of her purchase. She never had the problem of her vagina not lubricating. So, the only use she could see was that her husband planned to take her virgin ass. She smiled and said to herself, "OK Norman Hutchinson. For now on, it's all yours anyway. As of right now, you are the only man on the face of this earth that's allowed to stick it anywhere you want, as often as you want." As she walked back to the main thoroughfare, she noticed a tattoo parlor on the other side of the street. Remembering a story she had read on a site called Literotica where a man branded and banded his wayward wife, she entered the shop. The tattoo artist worked up a drawing of what she wanted and went right to work. Lorna left the shop thinking, "OK, now I'm branded, forever. Next stop is my favorite jewelry store. Then on to the supermarket." As Lorna walked to her car, she received a call from Kathy, "Hi mom. Ah, I have notes from all my teachers saying if I do my work and ace my finals, like always, I'll graduate with a four point oh grade point average." "That's great Kathy. I knew you could pull off a quick recovery." Before Lorna could mention anything about her father, Kathy said, "Mom? Ah, I've been invited to a slumber party tonight at Lorrie Jamison's house. I'll be back for lunch, tomorrow. Can I go?" Lorna thought about it for a moment, "The Jamison's are old friends of our family and that will give Norm and I the night and morning to be together." So, she consented, "Sure dear, long as I know where you are. I'll have a surprise for you at lunch tomorrow." "OK and thanks mom. I'll see you tomorrow." Starting dinner as soon as she arrived home, Lorna paused and called Jenny, "It's me Jen. He's coming home tonight! It's almost over. My self inflected nightmare is coming to an end." "That's fantastic Lorna. I knew you guys couldn't stay away from each other for very long. Good, that's great." "Yes it is. Let's get together next Tuesday or Wednesday for lunch. Same place." "OK, Wednesday is good for me. Nice to have my best friend in the whole world back with me." "Think you Jenny. Ah, why don't you invite Barb to join us. Ah, I'd like to let her know that I hold nothing against her. It hurt like hell to hear about it... Still hurts. But ah, I want her to know that I'm not gonna bite her head off and I do want to keep her as a friend. I want to tell her that it was my fault. If I hadn't gotten on some high horse, it woulda never happened. You tell her that I got knocked off it." "OK Lorna, I think she'd like that. Give me a call on Sunday and tell me how it is goin', Okeh?" "Okeh Jenny, talk to ya Sunday." With dinner almost ready, Lorna glanced at the clock, five forty. As she busied herself with the final touches of setting the table, she heard the garage door open. Smiling she lit the candle. Hutch entered the kitchen area without a briefcase, turned off his cellphone and placed it next to hers on the breakfast bar. She smiled and stepped around the table, stopping about three feet from him. Still smiling, she said, "Hello, my husband. Mine's turned off, too.." He looked her over for a few moments, dark circles were still around her eyes and her hair was still in a five finger style. But he could not help thinking, "Yes ma'am, now you look and sound more like my wife." Then he gathered her up into his arms and kissed her. When their lip lock had ended, he just said, "Hi." She took a step back, sort of bouncing on her feet, said, "I'm so glad to have you home. You don't know yet how glad I am to have you home. But, you are about to find out. Dinner is almost ready. The table is set and Norm? I accomplished all three of my objectives today." Before she turned toward the kitchen, he grasp her right hand, noticing her new ring. Half inch wide yellow gold, it was hard to miss. "What's this?" he asked. "Ah Normie? When you weren't here I couldn't sleep. So, I surfed the net and found some sites with erotic stories. A couple of them mentioned a band of commitment worn on the right forefinger. It's harder to ignore on that particular finger. They called it banding." "Humm." he said. then gave her a consenting smile, "That's a good idea." "The same story mentioned that the husband had his wayward wife branded with a tat.." she said, raising her dress to revealing a recent tattoo. He looked at her lily white hip and first noticed, in bright blue, "100%." Curved over the top of the "100%", in black letters, was "Hutch's." Curved around the bottom of the "100%" was "Property" Under that was written in red letters, "No trespassing!" He smiled and asked "Why did you have that done to you?" She allowed the fabric to drop back into place and moved back into his arms, "Norm? I found out a couple of things in this ordeal. One I love you more than words can describe. Two, I can't exist without you here with me. I need you Normie... I, I ah, I'm incomplete without you and yes Norman Hutchinson, attorney at law and CPA, I am your property. There will be no trespassing ever again. Now, we'll have a nice supper. Then we'll go upstairs and you can reestablish your ownership. There's a bottle of a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon chillin' in the frig. Just the thing for a couple of steaks. So, get it out an' open it. I'll get supper on the table." They began their meal in silence. then she asked, "How's your steak?" "Excellent, my dear. You are the only person I know that can cook a steak exactly the way I like it. Lorna Jean? You are a very good cook." It had been a long time since he had complimented her on her cooking. She smiled and purred, "Thank you." They ate in silence again for a minute or two. Then he said, "Lorna? Jeremy and Jenny had me over for supper a couple of time through out this affair. One evening after the meal, Jeremy and I sat out on their patio talking about the last twenty five years for us, almost twenty seven for them." He paused, took a sip of wine, "We came to the conclusion that neither one of us would be where we are today if we did not have our wives there with us. So, you say you need me. I need you as my wife, Lorna. It really bothers me that we drifted that far apart and that our jobs came between us..." She sat up straight in her chair. Hutch had never said anything like that to her. She tried to smile, but his words stunned her. She always knew that her husband was not an emotional man. That one of his strengths as a lawyer was his ability to use other peoples emotions against them. However, in less than thirty days prior she had caused him to loose his cool, albeit briefly. But, for the first time in his life he did something irrational, unreasonable and illogical. In shear anger, he had violently pushed Ken out of his way. Recently as a week prior, she had brought him to a point of shouting at her. Apparently, everybody was right. He husband was beginning to take some steps to meet her halfway. Lorna stumbled around, looking for a response, "Ahhh, Norm? Normie? Ahh, I've realized that I'm like a part of you, like your arms. Cut of and not reattached, I will just wither and die... Ah, but ah, Ohh Normee, Thank you." Hutch's Property Ch. 02 He laid down his knife and fork, "That's a great way to put it. I love you, Lorna and yes, my dear wife, I would feel incomplete without you in my life." Hutch then picked up his glass of wine, raised it and slightly tipped it toward her. Smiled, then took a sip. She raised her to meet his toast, took a sip and sat the glass back down. Then in little over a whisper, "Oh Normie? I've felt so alone in these last couple of weeks, so alone. I feel like I've been in an ice cold hell. So alone, separated from all of those I love. Oh how I do love you, my dear husband, now I know, I really truly know how much I do love you... Ah, I want to tell you something, ah something I don't even want to tell a counselor, ah... This stays with only you and I... Okeh?" "Sure, OK. Your secrets are safe with me." "I came home that mornin' after I gave Paul my resignation. He had told me that he talked to you and Jeremy about the two lawsuits. Ah well, I just went out and sat in the gazebo and cried and cried. Then the next day when I came to you office building to try to finish my plan of action. I was so scared to face you, so ashamed of myself. I sat in my car for a long time, afraid that you wouldn't even want to see me, let alone talk to me. I thought that if you wouldn't take me back, I would just go buy a bottle of sleeping pills and end it. I just was not gonna spend one more night in our bed without you there with me. I ah..." Not at all prepared to hear what she had just said, Hutch placed his knife and fork back down on his plate. Reaching out he took both of her hands in his, "Oh Lorna, my dear Lorna. I was not aware that we had pushed you that far. I'm so sorry. I love you way to much to hear that you came to that point." It sent shivers up his back to think that he might have lost her over this whole affair. "Oh Norm, I love you too. But, it was my own stupid decisions that brought me to that place in life. I feel so gullible, so naive, so stupid. Then, Tuesday I had lunch with Jenny. She told me about you and Barb Johnson. Oh gawd, Normie. It hurt so bad. Then I realized how much I had hurt you. It still hurts a lot, so it must still hurt you, too. Jeremy told me how you had our home and Ken's condo bugged for video and audio. So, you know exactly what stupid things I did and said. I acted the slut, Normie. A total slut. Tim and Randy were very right for reaming me out. An' Oh Normie, I ah, I almost brought Kathy down with me. Oh Normie..." she whined, gripping his hands tighter. Still grasping her hands and looking her in the eyes, he said, "Ah, Yes, I do forgive you. Ah, Barb was so ashamed the next morning. She doesn't want to be a home wrecker and I sure didn't do it for revenge or anything similar to that. I would never do that to you or Barb. But, Lorna? Suffice to say, it was a one time thing. But, listen carefully, because I need to tell you this, then we can work on putting all of it behind us. And, my dear wife, what I am going to tell you also stays between you and I.. Let me begin with mentioning that we had our worst argument that morning. I felt that it was worse than the night I walked out of our home. When I was there with Barb, I thought that there was a good chance that you would try to go through with the divorce. Also, I felt that you might be trying to replace me with Ken. So, ah well, this must stay between us. But Lorna? I looked at her as a potential replacement for you..." Lorna felt like she had just been hit hard in her chest. Her heart skipped a couple of beats, the color drained from her face. She felt faint and could hardy breathe. Again, she found herself fighting for words. She stumbled and stuttered, "Ah, ah, mah, my ah, my repla, ah, replacement?!? Ah, ah..." She knew that Barb was near the same age as Ken. However, what Lorna now knew about him, she realized that Barb operated on a much higher plane than Ken. That yes, Barb was the only viable candidate for her replacement. The realization that she came way to close to losing everything important to her and only having a bunch of money to show for it was now coming home to roost. Money that Hutch didn't really need and would most likely replace in a relatively short period of time. She also realized that Ken had risked nothing. That the slut road that she had literally crawl off of would lead to early fifties loneliness and possibly some incurable STD. At fifty years old she would most likely look like she was in her mid-sixties. With full eye contact, she laced her fingers into his and tightened her grip. However, she remained at a loss for words. Noting how it was effecting her, he said, "I tell you this because I know that you know me well enough to know that I do very little on impulse. Granted, I did not go to Barb's house to take her to bed. However, when I arrived she was just beginning to prepare supper. So, I took her boys out in the back yard and we threw the football around. They are already catching on to what to do with it. Ah, Lorna? I love you more than life itself. But, it's got to go both ways and lately I really doubted the feeling was mutual." Knuckles turning white from gripping her husband's hands, Lorna remained speechless. However, an urge to kill one Ken Burns was becoming stronger by the second. Both finished with their meal, he said, in a loving tone, "Now, listen to me, my dearest wife. The only wife I've ever had and will ever have. We have both taken some giant steps to the center and met each other half way. I have rearranged some of the areas at the top of my practice so I can be home everyday during the week between four and five in the afternoon. Also, I will be home on the weekends. Annd, as soon as we can find reservations, I would like to take a couple of weeks off and go on a cruise." He paused, she was smiling, but tears were rolling down her cheeks. He used his napkin to dry her tears. "Anyway my dear, I think the time for words is over. It is time for action. What else are you wearing under that dress? I know you don't have on any panties..." He blew out the candle and rose the both of them to their feet, "I think you should leave that dress here." He released her hands and stepped around the table toward her. "Ah, ah, I well, I ah, Normie?? I'll be naked!" Noticing that she had only taken a few sips from her glass of wine, whispered, "Hummm, just the way I want my wife right now, cold sober and naked." He stepped around behind her and ran the zipper down her back. As he pushed the dress off her shoulders, he kissed her on the neck and nibbled at her earlobe. Leaving her neck, he moved to her shoulder as the dress found her ankles. He brought up his left hand and captured her right breast. Then, with his right hand he brought up her right hand. Returning to her earlobe with his tongue, he whispered into her ear, "Tomorrow we will go out and find one of those bands for me. It will serve to remind both of us of our renewed commitment to each other. However, I sincerely doubt that I will get a tattoo." Lorna leaned her head back onto his shoulder and turned toward him, chuckled, then whispered, "As you wish, my husband, my lover, my everything..." Hutch scooped up his wife in his arms and carried her up to the bedroom. As they made their way, she whispered in his ear, "Normie? If I ever do anything stupid as that ever again, wail on my bare behind, smack me around some..Just don't ever leave me. If you do... I just know, without a doubt, I'll just lie down an' die..." "I'll remember that. From now on, only death do us part, my dear." he said as they approached the bedroom. He had only heard reports from Roz and Freddie about the remodel. So, he didn't know what to expect. The double doors stood wide open, so he was able to walk straight through them with Lorna in his arms. He stopped about ten feet into the room. With her still in his arms, he did a full circle, thinking, "I could not have picked better colors myself and the style of the furniture works with it all. Looks like we will be spending quite a bit of time in here, not simply sleeping, either." He allowed her legs to slipped back down to the floor. and then drew her close to him, and said "Very nice, m'lady, very nice. Comfortable, looks like a place where I can bring my wife and screw her lights out." . With a sexy smile, Lorna began unbuttoning his shirt. She purred, "Like my tat says, it's all your property. I have that jelly you asked me to buy over on the night stand. Ah, I read the label. So, ah you, my lover, can stick that thing anywhere you want, as often as you want. Anyway, it's all yours. Somethin' I guess I lost sight of somewhere along the line, here recently. But, I kin see clearly, now." She paused to push his shirt off his shoulders, then continued, "As the sole owner of this here body, mind and heart, you are the only one with access. I no longer have the authority to allow anybody even a handshake." Now, down to his underwear, he gathered her into his arms and gave her another deep kiss. Hutch carried his wife over to their king size playground-bed and into the sixty nine position. Something they had done often early in their marriage. However, they had not done it at all in the last twelve or fifteen years. It brought her to an orgasm that caused her body to shudder. He rolled her over onto her back, pushed her knees up toward her chest and shoved a folded pillow under her hips. He then penetrated her, burying his cock to the hilt on the first stroke. She wrapped her arms around him a squealed, "Oh yeah, Norman! Fuck this dumb broad! Reclaim your woman, fuck meee, fuck me hard, pound that pussy." He did not think that the word "fuck" was even in her vocabulary. However, here she was shouting it. Just before an orgasm flooded over her, she purred, "It's all yours, oh yeah and it fits, it fills me up. Oh gawd, it feels so good, Oh yeah, Ohhh yeah, here it comes..." With that she went into a wild orgasm. Getting him off about the time she hit her crescendo. He rolled off to her side, then onto his back. With a little groan, she stretched out her legs, rolled over to him. Placed one arm across his chest and one leg over his hips. When they had caught their breathe, she whispered, "Normie? My dear husband? Ah, I ah, I have somethin' to tell you about Ken..." She went on to tell him what she had told Jenny. Then she wrapped it up with, "But darlin', with Ken, ah well, he's just not half the lover that you are! He's not as big an' he just doesn't fill me up like you do. I had one little insignificant orgasm with him. It wasn't anything near what we just had. You ah, ah, Oh Normie? You just know what ta do ta me an', an' you're just better equipped than he is..." Hutch laughed out loud for the first time in six or eight weeks. He pulled her to him so her breast pushed into his chest. The he said, "I love you, Lorna Jean, I really do love you.. However, listen to me... You are not a slut or a dumb broad. You are my beautiful, smart, capable wife who simply had some lapses in judgement and made some very poor decisions." Smiled and purred, "Thank you, my big, broad shouldered, well strung, Oh so handsome, so successful husband..." With that his fingers found her ticklish spots and quickly had her giggling and wreathing around on the bed. Then he rolled onto his back and said, "Suck it up, Lorna Jean. Time for another round." She wasted no time in licking him clean. Then sucking him up hard and ready. He rose to his knees and said, "OK, m'lady. On your hands and knees right here on the bed. Hutch grabbed the K-Y jelly and came around behind her and rammed his cock into her pussy, to the hilt in one stroke. "Ugh, ugh." She grunted, as he pounded her pussy, "Ugh yeah, ram it in your property. Fuck me good. Stick it, ugh, ugh, where ever you want, ugh, ugh." He squeezed some jelly onto his fingers and as he pounded her pussy, he worked one finger into her ass. She gasped, knowing what was coming. He then worked a second finger into her anal opening, past the first knuckle, then another finger. Bracing herself for the anticipated pain, She whimpered, with a bit of reluctance in her voice, "Anywhere you want to stick it, ugh, ugh, It's all, ugh, yours..." He withdrew from her pussy and drew his fingers out of her ass. Applied some more jelly to her anal opening and rammed his cock in to replace his fingers. She gave him a little yelp but he kept pushing until he was in to the hilt, thinking, "I sort of wish I had this on video. I'd be tempted to send a copy to Ken." Since her ass was tighter than a virgin pussy, she squealed and screamed, then just moaned. It didn't take long for Hutch to go off deep in her bowls. She collapsed onto her belly and he lay down beside her. When he had caught his breath, he whispered, "That was different." She looked at him, smiled and said, "Yeah, it was. It didn't hurt near as much as I thought it would. In fact, it felt nice there at the end. It's yours now. Do it there as often as you want...." He chuckled, "I think that's enough for tonight. Let's take a shower and get some sleep. But my dear, the first one awake tomorrow wakes the other in some erotic manner..." In the shower they soaped each other. Then, he drew her close and allowed the warm water to flow over their bodies. Her arms wrapped around her husband and her breasts pushed against his chest, Lorna asked, "Normie? Who all saw me naked an' doin' it with Ken?" His arms wrapped around her, he gave her a little kiss on the forehead and said, "Nobody but me. One of our first meetings Dr. Watkins brought the subject up. We all agreed that we didn't care about Ken. But you, my dear wife? Yeah, we cared. So, we put Freddie in charge of the videos and Roz in charge of audio. Since Saturday afternoon, when Freddie noticed a nude scene coming on he would start making a file that he could turn into a DVD. The he would reduce the screen to the lower left hand corner. He would give me the DVD and delete everything else. And, I might add, when Freddie deletes something from a computer and/or the internet, it is deleted, completely." She looked up at him with a little smile. But, a tear still rolled down her cheek, "I totally disrespected you and our marriage. I so selfishly, so self-centered, not caring about who I hurt. But you, there you are, looking out for me and my self respect. Now, I really know how much you love me. Many men would have kicked me to the curb, drug me through a nasty divorce and plastered those videos all over the internet. But, not my husband. He loves and respects his wife way to much to do that. It's going to take me a long time to live up to the way you've handled this whole mess." Hutch tipped his head back and laughed, then said, "Oh m'lady, don't sell yourself short. Yes, I love you very much and yes, my respect for you was badly damaged. However, certainly not beyond repair." She placed her forehead on his chest, "There's a silver lining in those nasty dark clouds. It has reminded me of how much I love you and shown me how much you love me. Also, it has reminded us how much our kids care and love us. They could have just stood by and watched. Then gone on with their own lives." After their shower together, both still nude, they lay in bed, under the covers. As they ran their fingers over each others body, whispering, giggling and laughing, Kathy returned home early, from her slumber party. She noticed the two plates and wine glasses on the kitchen table. Hearing voices upstairs, she suspected that her mother had brought Ken back into their home. Before she called her father and brothers, she decided to verify her suspicions. She peaked into the bedroom and noticed her mother in bed with another person and exclaimed, "Mother!?!" Kathy was about to read her mom the riot act when her father looked up and said, "Hi precious!" "Daddy?!?" she squealed. Then, the high school senior did something that she had not done since she was seven or eight years old. Kathy jumped into bed in between her parents. She could smell the sex, "Humm, smells like you two have been making up for lost time..." As her father tickled his daughter, Lorna asked her, "Why are you home so early? I thought you said you would be home tomorrow?" When Hutch allowed Kathy to settle down, she answered her mother. "Ahh, you know we were over at Lorrie Hamilton's house in the basement, having fun. Just five girls that have known each other since we were kids. Anyway, about nine thirty or ten, Lorrie's parents went to bed. Then three boys showed up and all they wanted to do was make out and get some head. I had rode over there with Heidi Thompson. Her parents are in a nasty divorce. With all the shit going on around here and my screw up Monday, well, I just didn't want to be involved in that kind of stuff right now. So, we just left and came home." She rolled over to the other side of her father, "So? You guys back together? For good?" "Yes, my dear." Her mother replied, "The divorce will be withdrawn on Monday. I talked to Randy today and he will call Tim. I thought it would be a neat surprise for you tomorrow. But yes, your daddy is back for good. I'm going to do everything that I can to make sure of that." Monday Morning - Fourth week Mid-morning found Lorna in her former office, filling the last box with her personal items. Ken strolled in the office extruding his usual level of overconfidence and said, "Packing it up, huh? I'd heard you had resigned. Tried to call you a couple of times. I thought maybe we could get together...Maybe sit an' talk over a cup o' coffee?" Lorna cut him off, "No Ken, never gonna happen. My husband moved back in Friday evening and he reclaimed his property. Took it all..." She patted her behind. "Annd Ken, I mean he got it all, several times. Also, I should mention that he is the only one that will ever get it from me for the rest of my life. Truth of the matter is, he can stick that thing in me anywhere, anytime as often as he wants. Also, there's something else I just have to mention. This last weekend I realized that Norman is better equipped than you, and certainly the superior lover." Ken's continence dropped, immediately. Lorna could not help but notice the loss of confident smile and slump of his shoulders. He stuck his hands into his pockets and turning to leave, "Oh Ken? One more thing." Lorna said with a big smile, "My husband said that if I ran into you today, that I should tell you, 'thanks for the wake up call.'" If there was anything left of his ego, that drained it. However, she just couldn't leave it at that. As the dejected Ken, again started to try walk out of the office, she said, "Hey, Tidewater boy? Enjoy Arizona!" After a meeting with Jeremy and Hutch, Paul had told Ken that he either take a job as a principal at an elementary school in the Phoenix area of Arizona, or be fired. Paul made it clear to Ken that if he didn't go to Arizona, that he would find it very hard to gain employment in government, or the corporate world. Ken was there that day to pick up the information on his new position. Paul informed him that he was to report to new his employer on the following Monday morning. As Lorna left her office, she stopped by the desk of one of the ladies working in the front office, "Well Debbie, I thought I'd stop by and say goodbye.." "Oh Lorna why do you haveta leave? They've canned Ken, or sent him to Siberia. How ever you want to look at it. We all really like having you here." "It's what my husband wants. I want our marriage to come back together and this is one of my steps to the center. He has made some big steps I know were not easy for him. However, we have promised each other to work real hard to make it stronger than before Ken." "OK Lorna, I guess that makes it all worth it." Hutch's Property Ch. 02 "Ah Debbie? Can you go online and bring up the weather in Phoenix?" "Sure Lorna." In a few clicks Debbie had a listing of the average temperatures for the whole year, by the month. Debbie chuckled, "Look at the merry month of May. Average high temp of 93. That means it'll get up there in the triple digits." A laughing Lorna said, "Yeah, I'll bet it does. Look at June with an average high of 103. That means that there are quite a few days in the month that are in the triple digits. But, you know what they say, it's a dry heat." "Lorna? I've been out in the Southwest desert in the summer and I've lived around here all my life. So, I know it gets hot and humid here. But, let me tell you something about that... You do four or five days of 105 in the day and 75 or 80 at night.... Well, all you have is your hotel and its air conditioning and you look outside to see nothing but buildings or desolation.... I'd choose here, too. And, I'll tell ya something else, hot is hot, humid, dry, it's still hot!" Lorna laughed, "Yeah, this Georgia peach likes it here too. Norman told me that Ken was getting railroaded out there. That he has to be there next Monday..." Both women laughed and then Lorna said, "Well, I have to get going, Deb. But, I'll keep in touch." Hutch entered his office at his usual time that same morning. He was feeling on top of the world, "Good morning Janet. How are you this lovely morning?" "Good morning, sir. I'm doing very well and judging by that smile, you are too." "Yes, Janet, I'm feeling very good. So is Lorna. Over the weekend, she and I became reacquainted in several ways." Janet gave him a big smile and said, "Sir? I haven't seen that smile on you in quite a while. It is certainly a pleasure to see it again." "Thank you, Janet. I am certainly glad that it is over. All of you did a fantastic job of achieving desired results in record time. Ah Janet? I want to do something special for everyone involved in the project. Umm, I don't think that just passing around some cash really says what I want to say. I'll do that anyway, But, there has to be more that I can do." "Okay sir. I'll give it some thought. Ah, sir? You have one message here this morning from a Doctor Assad. He would like you to call him by eleven today, at his office." said Janet, handing him the written message, "And sir? Talking about the team. Roz was in earlier this morning. It appears that she and Freddie have a budding romance. She giggled and said that they are a couple of computer nerds in love. So, in view of a recent case, they would like to come in and talk to you about our company's policy on employee fraternization." Hutch chuckled, "With those two, I'm sure we can work out something. You know my schedule. Get them in about mid-afternoon, even if you have to reschedule something else. They certainly work well together. Good, yeah, work that out and let me know. I need to talk to them about the audit going on in Dallas. I think they are just the people to bust it wide open. Isn't Freddie a member of the Texas Bar?" "Yes sir, I'll think that was the first Bar that he passed. He was born in Houston." "Good, let me know when I can expect them." With that Hutch went into his office and wasted no time in calling Dr. Assad. "Hey Doctor, how'd it go?" Dr. Assad replied, "Hey Hutch, it's good to hear from you." Then in a physician's consolatory tone, "Ah, my tech tells me that she really screwed up and last nights patient may have permanent damage." Hutch began to laugh. Then when he had settled down, he said, "Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Will he feel anything?" "Oh no. Nothing at all. I gave them a drug to sedate him that should have allowed him to wake up feeling great this morning." "Good doctor. I can't help but laugh. He's going to be out there in some desert community as an elementary school principal around all those mothers and grandmothers at the age he likes, not to mention the female teachers, other administrators and he won't be able to get it up." The two men laughed for almost a minute. The doctor ended their laughter with, "Ah, Hutch? Since my tech's divorce, she had to move her kids into a dump of an apartment in a bad neighborhood. I really think that it has been effecting her work." "No doubt about that!" exclaimed Hutch, with a smile on his face. "Making mistakes of this magnitude?!? Well, we must get her into a house in a better neighborhood. I have one in mind that's vacant right now. I've owned it quite awhile and it is not much of a tax right off. It's in a good neighborhood, good schools, fifteen minute from your offices. Three bedroom, two bath, double garage. I'll put it in the hands of one of my tax attorneys. I'll tell them to work it out so she can move in tomorrow if she wants. They will put it together so she can take title and not get some big tax bill. Tell her also that if she ever decides to get married again, that we will write her prenup for free, or any other legal work she needs done. I'll have somebody to call you later today and get it all started." "Thanks Hutch. I purged the records. So, it is as if it had never happened." "Excellent, doctor. Anytime you need an attorney or an auditor, just let me know." "Good, thank you Hutch, I'll be expecting that call from one of your people. If it is after eleven this morning, have them call my cell." Hutch hung up his office phone and leaned back in his chair, placed his hands behind his head and thought, "I wonder how many Arizona marriages we just saved." After completing a call to one of his real estate specialists to work out the house transfer, Janet broke into his thoughts with, "Sir? Mister Baker on line one." In an excited voice, Jeremy said when Hutch came on the line, "Hey Hutch, Top o' the morning to you." "Good morning, Jeremy. You were on my list to call this morning. That plan of action that you gave Lorna worked very well, thanks for your friendly involvement. The four of us need to get together for diner or a barbeque." "Yeah, that's one of the reasons I called. Anyway, you remember my legal secretary, Laura Thomas?" "Sure the one that has been with you since you started your practice and knows all your cases..?" "Yeah, that's the one. I had her doing a lot of the prep on the two cases we didn't file and she kept mentioning how that name Burns rang a bell. Anyway, she came into my office with a fat file from about twelve years ago. Remember when we were going over Ken Burns trust and found that his grandfather, Kenneth J. Burns had set it up. Well it so happens that Ken's father is ol' K.J.'s son, Robert. It's an old Tidewater family. They had officers on Robert E. Lee's general staff. The family is worth a couple of billion and Robert's now head of it. So, bottom line here Hutch, is that they got nailed by the SEC on RICO charges. We got their defense and I brought in you and their auditors. We beat the charges completely. Their own lawyers were telling them to plea bargain. Anyway, ol' K.J. is dead. But, I called Robert this morning and told him the basics. He has invited you and I annd, of course, our wives up to their estate tomorrow at seven, for supper. Their a couple of hours up the coast. So, if we can get out of town by four forty five, we should have plenty of time." Again, Hutch had an occasion to laugh. He could not believe how this day was proceeding. Especially after a fantastic weekend with his wife. "Sure Jeremy. We wouldn't miss that for a million dollars. I vaguely remember the case. It was one of our first high profile cases. I remember that top gun coming in from the Attorney General office in D.C. He came into the court room as we were taking apart the governments's case and ask for a recess. The judge wouldn't give it to him." They both laughed, then Hutch said, "I'll get a hold of Lorna and we will plan to be at your place at about four to four thirty." "Good, Hutch. See you guys tomorrow." Friday morning - Forth week Early that morning found a dejected Ken Burns in the airport, waiting for a flight to Dallas, Texas. Then on to Phoenix, Arizona. He found his gate and took a seat in the waiting area, thinking that things could not get much worse. A few minutes before boarding, he decided to play his "Ace in the hole." He drew out his cell phone, brought up the right number in speed dial and hit the send button, "Dad?" "Hey, Kenny. I hear you are on your way to Arizona?" "Yeah, Dad, I think I wore out my welcome, here." Ken's father laughed, "That's putting it mildly, son." "Ah, dad? Ah, can you pull some strings and get me sent up north or some other place along the Atlantic coast? Even ah, the ah... D.C. area?" "Not this time, son. Do you remember about twelve years ago, I think you were in college, your grandfather, uncles and I almost went to jail on RICO charges? The SEC and FBI claimed that we were operating like mobsters. The Feds were going to make examples of us and our own high priced lawyers were telling us to plea bargain. Then an old friend of dad's put him in touch with a super law firm. They brought in another firm that is a combination of lawyers and forensic accountants. Those guys took apart the Feds case piece by piece and we all walked. They were the Baker and Hutchinson law firms. Ring a bell, son?" Ken sank down lower in his seat. Just when he did not think it could get much worse, it did. His father continued, "Your mother and I had the Hutchinson's and Bakers here on Tuesday evening. Lorna Hutchinson is a lovely southern lady. Your type, I know. But, you should have never messed around with her. Either one of those men could have made one phone call and had you sent to the desert, alright. In a shallow grave out in the middle of nowhere. No son, I can't help you this time. Fact is, I'm cutting you loose. Just be happy that Norman Hutchinson let you leave with your life and credentials. You've disappointed me, your brothers and uncles in the past. As the youngest, we tried to give you some slack. I brought you here after I cleaned up that mess you made up in Boston and hoped that you would grow up. However, that does not seem to have happened. This time, as far as I am concerned, you went over the top and compromised the family name. As the head of this family, I cannot allow that to happen. Also, it is critical to me to know that I have these men and their firms on my side when I need them. I am not going to clean this mess up for you, Kenneth. You still have your trust fund. However, as far as the family is concerned son, this is goodbye..." Closing his phone, the stunned Ken was awakened from his thoughts by the flight attendant calling for first class passengers. He collected his thoughts, picked up his carry-on, dug out his boarding pass and found his seat on the aircraft. But, the real rude awakening was yet to come for Ken Burns. The following Monday morning. Entering his outer office a few minutes after eight am, Hutch greeted his secretary with a big satisfied grin, "Good morning, Janet. How are you on this beautiful morning?" "I'm good, sir and how are you?" "I seriously doubt I could be any better. We had the whole bunch home this weekend and ya know what? I think we are becoming a stronger family than we were seven or eight months ago. Lorna and I agreed that we wouldn't wish these last three weeks on anybody. But, we sure are making good use of the experience." "I am certainly glad to hear that, sir." "So? How's your family doing.?" "They're all good, sir. The kids are doing well in school, my husband likes his job. But, he does need to get out and play some golf, or some other exercise. He's getting a noticeable spare tire around his waste." "You play too, don't you?" "Yes sir, but ah.." "You know I have that membership in that country club, I can never remember the name. Anyway, Lorna and I need to get out there more often, too. I'll tell you what. See if you can get the four of us a tee time for next Saturday morning. Let me know... Oh, and Janet?" He said just before he turned to go into his office, "Out on the golf course, you and your husband can call me Norman, Norm, or Hutch. But, certainly not sir, OK?" Janet smiled, "OK, sir. I'll let you know what tee time I get. And, Sir? Your first appointment is waiting for you in your office." "Good, thank you, Janet. And ah, bring us some coffee." As Hutch entered his office he greeted the person sitting in a chair facing his desk, "Good morning, Miz Meyers. Janet is bringing us some coffee." He sat down at his desk and flash her one of his self confident smiles. A visibly nervous Beth Meyers greeted Hutch with, "Ummm yes, good morning to you Mister Hutchinson and yes, a cup of coffee would be nice. Umm, I'm here this morning to say, I'm sorry. I should not have touched your wife's case with a ten foot pole. Several other attorneys tried to warn me, but I'm just to stubborn, I guess..." Hutch made no comment. But was thinking, "She's lost the cocky attitude...Not very attractive, five foot four maybe five foot five, twenty to thirty pounds over weight, yeah, I can see how Ken talked, and/or fucked her into taking Lorna's case." Beth continued, "Ahh also, I came here today to tell you that I have sold my practice to three of my associates. The sale will close in less than thirty days. Ahh, I called my uncle who practices law in Stockton, California. He would like me to come out there and take over his office. He wants to retire and travel. I would leave right after the sale of my practice closes." Janet entered the office with two cups of coffee, "Cream or sugar, Miz Meyers?" Beth took the cup from Janet, "Ahh, no thank you. Black's fine." After Janet had left the office, Beth continued, "Ummm, so, Mister Hutchinson, ah, well ah, another reason I am here is... Ah, I need to become a member of the California Bar. Ah, I know I can pass the test. It is just that, well, I need for you and Mister Baker to withdraw your letters to our state bar... Please?" Born on a dairy farm about 45 miles south east of Stockton, so Hutch knew all about the place. He was not at all surprised to hear that Forbes Magazine had deemed it the most miserable city in the nation in which to live. He looked her right in the eyes and asked, "Why would we want to do that?" "Well ah, sir, I ah, I am leaving, giving up my practice, umm... It would certainly assure my departure if I knew I could get into the California bar." Hutch leaned back in his chair, placed his fingers and thumbs together across his chest and spread them out, "Yes, I can see that. OK, I 'll clear this with Mister Baker, but if you are out of town by this date next month, we will withdraw our letters..." Beth sat her cup down on the table next to her chair and stood up, quickly, "Thank you, sir. I won't let you down. Ah, I'll call from the airport and give you my flight number. Ah, thanks again.." she said turning to leave. Then she turned back to him, "Have a nice day, Mister Hutchinson." Then exited his office. Janet entered a few minutes after Beth had gone."That appeared to go well." "Yes Janet, I think it did. Get Mister Baker on the phone for me, please." When she had left the room, Hutch lean back in his chair, chuckled and said to himself, "Victory, the sweet taste of victory." He felt every bit as good as he felt when they had won any of their largest cases. One Month later After spending 15 days cruising some of Europe's rivers with her husband, Lorna found herself at a table with her whole family, plus a few. It was the semi-annual fund-raiser banquet for the Peace Officers and Firefighters Foundation. Tonight, she would be giving the update speech. Looking over the large round table, she felt good about her life. To her right sat her husband, who had helped her write tonight's speech. To her left sat her son, Tim with his date. Next to her sat Randy and his date. Next to her sat Kathy and her date. Next to him sat Barbara Johnson and her date, Hutch's brother, Michael. A navel officer who had recently been transferred to Norfolk Navel Base. Hearing her name called, Lorna rose from her seat, gathered her cue cards and then went on to mount the podium. Adjusting the microphone, she began her speech with "I must admit that, after some recent events and some stupid decisions on my part, it is not easy for me to stand here before y'all, t'night. And, I know y'all know me as Lorna Jean. However, to dispel some rumors, media reports and set the records straight, let me reintroduce myself. I am and will be until my dyin' breath," she looked toward her family and right at her husband, "Missus Norman A. Hutchinson, Esquire." She then held her left hand up to allow the diamonds to sparkle and show the crowd that her rings were still on the proper finger. It started with claps, then cheers. As the crowd settled down, she heard the distinctive, booming voice of Jeremy, "Welcome back, Lorna Jean!" Hutch sat listening to his wife's speech, thinking how proud he was to be the speaker's husband. The smart and beautiful, Lorna Jean Hutchinson. Fallible human, but still his wife and he loved her beyond words. He knew in his heart that with effort from both of them, counseling and time, his trust in her would return. She had recommitted everything that she could to save their marriage and he had to respect that. Also, he had to admit that her efforts to fix 'the mess' as she called it, had, in certain areas of life, served to increase his trust and respect for her. No doubt, she had learned a few very valuable lessons and they were much closer today than they had ever been. Maybe that was why he let it go as far as it did. At a table not far from the Hutchinson's sat several young, unmarried attorneys from another major law firm. During Lorna's speech, they spoke in low tones about her short affair with Ken. As her speech drew to a close, one young lawyer said, "I can see why he'd try to get her. If I thought for a minute that I might get away with it, I think I'd give it a shot. I'll bet she'd be one hell of a roll in the sack for the right guy." Another said, "Yeah, well that guy Burns got banished to the desert. Phoenix, Arizona, wasn't it? Certainly not one of my favorite places in this world." Yet another added, "Yeah, but that's not all. I hear he can't get it up anymore and the doctors can't say why. He insists that Hutch had something to do with his condition." As Lorna stepped down off of the podium and started to return to her family, the only man at the table of lawyers that looked over forty said, "There's no doubt about it, Hutch had everything to do with his condition. However, you'll never prove it. Shoot, they'd haveta find Hutch standing over Burns' still warm, dead body with a smokin' gun in his hand before the DA would lift a finger. Then they'd haveta match the gun ballistically with the slug the found in Burns' body before he'd do anything else about it." As Lorna passed near their table, the fifty something southern lawyer continued, "Gentlemen? There goes the property of Norman Hutchinson. No trespassing! Trespassers will be prosecuted by the owner, personally. Annd, I might add, there are some fine women in the Phoenix area of this world. I'll bet anything at all that Burns would rather be dead, right now. So, let me say this as my closing remarks. I've been fucking southern socialites since I was seventeen years old. So gentlemen, I can look out there right now and point out at least a dozen women, married and unmarried that any one of you could take home tonight and there would be absolutely no ramifications. However, there are two women here tonight that y'all should leave alone, completely alone. Do not ask them to dance, do not talk to them. Do not even let them know your name. One is Lorna Hutchinson. The other is Jennifer Baker. I know Jeremy Baker well enough to say that he would not have let it get beyond that first kiss. That guy Burns would have been long gone by the stroke of midnight. And, Jennifer would most likely at the very least, got bare her bottom turned bright red. It would have cost Jeremy only one phone call. There's another point you young barristers should always remember if you plan to practice law in this area. Jeremy and Hutch go back to their college days. You mess with one, you've messed with the other. And together, they will rip you apart, piece by piece."
