The character Keisha was introduced briefly in chapter two of that tale, and for some reason I feel compelled to tell her story. I must state that these are fictional characters and exist solely in my imagination. This is an interracial love story. I must warn you the first chapter is a bit rough and there is NO SEX in this chapter. The love scenes will come as the Dylan and Keisha's story develop. So if you want a quick fix, please find another story that will fulfill that need. Overstar, thank you for editing. Any errors are my own, but please don't allow them to distract you. So if you are going to get hung up on mistakes, then I apologize. Please read it and enjoy. Also I ask that you do not replicate this story without asking. Writing is hard work and I really take it seriously. IR2R Keisha Johnson stared at her bruised face once again in her bedroom mirror. The person that inflicted this damage lay sleeping in the next room. Keisha hated him, and the only thing running through her mind was the words of her arch nemesis Talia Greene. "Keisha, how many times does he have to go upside your head for you to know Deshaun does not love you? He hit me once and I ran. How many times has he hit you, ten, one hundred, more? You call me names and try to insult me when you have a problem. Yes, Richard is young, but he loves me. He would never hurt me like that. That's not in him." Talia glared at her, daring her to deny what she said at her parent's anniversary banquet last year. Keisha stood her ground because she had to save face. But she knew Talia was right. He didn't love her. She was convenient, a punching bag for him. Her friends were there and she knew they'd tell their men what was said and eventually Deshaun would find out. If she seemed weak, she'd pay when he came home. But then again, she argued with Talia, so he'd make her pay anyway, and she did. It took her four months to heal from the beating he gave her, but that was a year ago, today was different. A week ago she had to work late, and didn't get a chance to call. When she made it home a little after eleven, Deshaun was waiting. He was angry because she wasn't there to cater to him. He didn't have a job and could not get one because of his record. So he controlled everything she did. She had to be home by a certain time, and could only leave when he permitted her to go. Even when she was permitted, she had to give him an itinerary so he could approve. He allowed her to work, but not much else. He was always angry, and this night was no different. He slapped her around and then made her prepare a full meal for him. The whole while he told her what a worthless person she was. "You're nothing. I can find another woman that is much better than you. You think you can survive without me. No, bitch. I made you. But really you are a waste of my time. Fix my dinner and then clean this shit up." He ordered. She cleaned up the mess and quickly made his dinner. The next morning, she got dressed for work, carefully applying make-up to hide her shame. He didn't even pretend to be sorry anymore. He just said, the beatings were her fault. Keisha wore makeup to hide the bruises, but she knew no one was fooled. She arrived at her job, and people stared. Her boss shook his head and said nothing. A few days passed, and things settled. On Tuesday night, she got an emergency call from Mya, her best friend. Her Mom had collapsed. The residential supervisor had called an ambulance to take her to the hospital. Keisha alerted her supervisor, who let her go immediately. She rushed to the hospital and waited anxiously as her mother was being cared for. Her mom, who was already deathly ill, fought hard and survived, but barely. It was in that hospital room that her mother spoke to her honestly. For once, Keisha listened. "Keisha, that boy will kill you. Promise me you'll get away." She breathed heavily, struggling with each breath. "I love you, and I hate seeing him treat you like this. I won't be here much longer, and I won't be here to protect you. He hit you again, didn't he?" she asked, eyes sad and broken. "Momma, you know he doesn't mean to hit me. I just make him mad sometimes. He's a good man. He's just misunderstood. I'll tell Deshaun that you're sick. He'll understand. He might even come see you and then you'll see he is a good man." Keisha tried to cover plastering on a fake smile while thinking that her mother was right. Her mother wasn't listening. She was distraught as her daughter stood there spouting the exact same excuses for this man as she did for her ex-lover years ago. "I hate that I stayed with Frank. I hate I let you see him beat me. I should have left, but I didn't think I could. Keisha, baby, listen to me; a man who loves you won't hurt you like this." She explained. "Baby, you are beautiful, and you deserve to be happy. Leave him, promise me you'll find a way." She demanded. Keisha did not reply, because she didn't want to lie to her mother. Her mother became agitated. Her monitors sounded and the nurse ordered her to leave. Keisha knew her mother was right. She'd seen it. That was why she hated Talia and Dalia Greene. They had perfect parents that never struck them, or demeaned them. She caught the bus home and as she rode, she remembered riding in a car with her step-father when she was younger. One of his friends was interested in her, and he told her that she could just spend time with his friend and earn some money. Keisha refused, and Frank became angry. Keisha shuttered as the memories assaulted her. "You stupid little bitch. I do all I can for you and your sorry ass Momma, and you talk back to me. You think you can say no to me. Bitch, I own you. You do what I say." Keisha opened her mouth to speak when he hit her, and told her she'd better not ever back talk him again. It was then that Keisha's dreams of a better life ended. She never told her mother, but she learned that as a woman you had to do what the man said. Her step-father's abuse continued until Deshaun stopped him. He became her everything. He trained her, conditioned her, and even now almost twenty years to the day they met, he made sure she knew he made her; she was his creation, his property. She endured a lot at his hands, even other females. At twenty-one, Keisha became pregnant. She wanted to give her child stability. She didn't want her son or daughter growing up like she did. However, Deshaun needed to change. She felt he needed to stop messing around and settle into his role as a family man. One night after waiting up till early in the morning, he staggered in smelling of booze, weed, and women. Keisha was furious and hurt, so she confronted Deshaun about his drinking and cavorting around with other women. He snapped on her and slammed her into the wall, hard enough to dent it; she lost the child. Keisha cried as she remembered the pain she suffered. She recalled the intense agony of her child dying and then slowly evacuating her body. He would not take her to a hospital because he feared being arrested again. She lay in bed a full day before Deshaun demanded she get up and take care of him. She learned to never question him again. Soon after, he set his sights on Talia Greene once again. She was pissed when she learned he was sniffling around the other woman, but Talia turned him down. He was infuriated, but her refusal made him even more determined to get her back. He came home, and told her what a frigid little bitch Talia was, and that he didn't really want her anyway. His description gave her confidence, because he swore he hated her and her dark skin. Keisha knew he was lying, but as long as he focused on the other woman, then he wasn't knocking her around. Keisha felt pathetic, shamed, and she felt like a failure. Why wasn't she enough for him? Why couldn't she keep him happy? Maybe, just maybe, she deserved the way he treated her. She had to be better, become what he wanted. Then, maybe, just maybe, he'd leave the other women alone. Keisha stared from the bus windows. Deshaun! Do I love him, or am I just afraid? Keisha thought. Momma is right. He will kill me, but how can I get away? she pondered. Last year at the Greene's Anniversary dinner, Deshaun crossed a line. He decided to go after Talia Greene once more, but she shot him down. So he snuck into the banquet hall and threatened her boyfriend. The police was call and he was arrested. She bailed him out, and for a few days he was kind. Soon the niceness wore off, and he learned of the argument in the ladies room. One night she came home, and he was waiting. Deshaun had been drinking. He wanted to know if she wanted Talia's man. He heard how she wanted to fuck him that night. Did she want a boy too? He asked becoming more furious by the minute. Terrified, Keisha tried to tell him it was nothing. Before she could get two words out, she was on the floor. He snatched her up, and flung her around, punching her viciously. He vented, Bitch, you want to embarrass me. You want to fuck that boy. Davicia told Caveman what you said. I will kill you before you make a fool of me. he ranted with each strike. Keisha didn't fight back; she simply cowered. Eventually she was able to ball her body into a tight ball as he continued his assault. Deshaun kicked her viciously in the back, side, and her head. She passed out, not sure when the attack ended. She remembered waking the next morning with him ordering her to clean up the mess she caused. She did. Soon the bus arrived at her stop, and she knew it was time to hurry home. Keisha had reached a point, an inevitable point that all women reach at a crucial point in their lives. She had enough. Her mother was dying, and there was nothing she could do. Her mother spent most of her life catering to a man that did not care if she lived or died. Her step-father, Frank, mistreated her mom, beat her, and three years ago when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, chose to go off with younger woman. He didn't simply leave; he left with a cruel parting shot. He called her mother names, said she was stupid, and that he never loved her. She was a fat, bald-headed slob and the sight of her made him want to puke.He reveled in humiliating her mother, leaving her a broken sob of nothingness, as her neighbors looked on. She tried to help, but then Deshaun wanted her with him, and demanded that she go with him right then. This ain't our business. he declared. Keisha wanted to refuse, but she feared being struck again even more. So she hugged her mother and left her at home alone, hurting and crushed. So her mother was essentially left to pull herself together. Deshaun treated her the same way her step-father treated her mother. She arrived at the small home she paid for them to live in, and let herself in. As she entered, she expected to hear a barrage of insults, but was relieved to be greeted by silence. Keisha sat in the dark, contemplating. She was tired, and needed to do something. Her mother was living in an assisted living home, so she could not go there. She had friends, but they would never take her in. Deshaun would surely kill her if she left and he caught her this time. Unless, he went back to jail, she'd never be free. He had two strikes. It was pure dumb luck that he got off over a year ago. The police failed to read his rights and he got off on a technicality. Keisha knew the truth; the cops were his friends and covered for him once more. Only one officer was upset, Officer Dylan Nash. He demanded answers, and supervisor ordered him to drop it. He didn't. Deshaun was a ticking time bomb. He needed to be locked up. The supervisor had him reassigned to another precinct. Keisha was paying his bail when Nash approached her. He gave her his card and said to call if she ever needed him. "Look Ms. Johnson, that man is dangerous. Take my card, if you ever need help, call me." he whispered. His voice calmed her, even then. She looked at him, and noticed his sandy brown hair unevenly cut hang loosely around his cute oval-shaped faced. The kindest pair of deep brown eyes stared back at her, and for a moment she was enthralled. A phone rang, and she looked away for a second. Her sight landed on Deshaun's homeboy, Caveman, and he was watching her, so she laughed and threw the card on the ground, Nash looked into her eyes, and saw the man that was watching so intently reflected in her irises, and he understood why she did reacted that way. He simply walked off. As soon as she had a chance, she retrieved the card and stuck it in her back pocket. Deshaun never found the card, and she wondered would she still be able to reach the young officer. Soon she heard a car pull up and knew Deshaun was home. He'd be furious because she had not prepared dinner. Keisha rushed upstairs and hid. Hoping that he'd fall asleep, giving her a reprieve this night. "Keisha, where are you girl?" he bellowed as he entered. "I'm hungry, hell. You ain't cooked." He ranted. "Bitch, I'm going to have to teach you a lesson." She huddled on the bathroom, and prayed that he would give up and sleep. Unfortunately, luck was not on her side. He found her cowering in the bathroom and immediately attacked. Keisha thought of her mother, and for the first time in her life, she fought back. Her fury stunned Deshaun as she let loose on him furiously. Her mother was dying, and she had no one else. He had taken everything. There was nothing left besides her life, but death was preferable to the hell she was currently in. Deshaun struck, and she fell, but this time she did not stay down. She grabbed a metal pipe that was behind the toilet and swung. The blow connected, knocking him back. Deshaun was shocked and then angered that his woman would dare fight him back. After tonight, this bitch would know her place. The two fought, as Deshaun being bigger and stronger overpowered the woman. The police was called and arrived. Hearing her screams, the first officer yelled "POLICE" and they burst in. Deshaun blinded by rage did not realize the officers were in place. Two officers subdued Deshaun and pulled the furious male off of the prone female he was assaulting. As he was cuffed, Officer Carl Howard ordered the officers to stop, and he made sure he read him his rights. He'd make darn sure he did not get off on a technicality this time. Several more cars arrived and an ambulance was dispatched for the young woman who had been severely beaten. Other officers arrive and secured the scene. Carl called his friend, Dylan Nash, and told him of the arrest. Nash remembered meeting Keisha a year earlier when that same boyfriend was released on a technicality. He gave her his card, but she never called. Carl explained to Dylan that her injuries were serious. Dylan headed to the hospital immediately. Keisha was rushed to surgery, having suffered serious injuries. The surgeon was able to repair the damage, a ruptured spleen, repaired damage to her kidneys and liver. She had a broken tibia and her collarbone was shattered as well. Keisha was lucky to be alive. She was placed in ICU overnight, but her condition was stabilizing. Dylan arrived, and was taken to the waiting area where he sat all night waiting to see her. It was as he was waiting that one of the nurses from her mother's floor, happened to stop by. Recognizing her name, she commented about both mother and daughter in the same place at the same time. Curious, Nash questioned her and he learned that Keisha's mother was in the same hospital. Dylan made sure he stopped by her room and explained to her what happened, so she would know her daughter was safe. Keisha was unconscious for a few days, and her mother was kept informed of her progress. Desiree Greene stopped by to visit both women and she sat and talked with Lizzie for a while. Both women agreed that somehow Keisha needed to be free of that man. For now, Deshaun was in jail, and he was being charged with attempted murder. Of course he claimed self-defense citing that she struck him with a blunt object. The courts appointed him an attorney, and he was advised to plead guilty and get a reduced sentence. He would serve two years with three suspended. Deshaun was furious. He'd take the deal, and when he got out Keisha's trifling ass would pay. Keisha woke up to find Officer Dylan Nash sitting beside her. He wasn't speaking, just watching her. "Ah, you're awake." He whispered. "Off... pppsssshhh" Keisha tried to talk, but Dylan silenced her. "Don't talk. I want you to know he will go away this time. He won't hurt you or anyone else again." Keisha cried. Dylan simply sat there. He remembered the first time he saw Ms. Keisha Johnson. It was over a year ago at the Anniversary banquet for Mr. and Mrs. Felix Greene. Deshaun had forced his way inside and threatened several of the guests. He saw how Deshaun looked at her, and how she responded to the other man. She was terrified, and he knew someone needed to intervene. However, as long as she stayed silent, this cretin would continue to mistreat her. Dylan Nash was angry. How could an entire group of officers fuck up like this? He should be gone so that the people in that community would be safe. She shouldn't have to live in fear. He closed his eyes to gain control of his emotions. He remembered the events from a year ago so clearly. He did everything he could to hold that monster, but there was nothing he could do, so he had to follow protocol. The bastard walked. Deshaun Williams was either lucky, or extremely crafty. That was last year. The last time he got away with it, but this time Dylan would do everything he could to see this monster put away. Keisha slept once more. She was completely unaware of the guardian angel that sat at her bedside. Dylan watched her sleep, and he had to admit that she was beautiful. He knew of her. She had a reputation of being harsh and rude. She was far from perfect, but even so; no woman deserved to have any man put his hands on her. He stroked her brow and she frowned. Dylan smiled. He'd leave soon. She might have visitors and the last thing she needed was for them to find a cop sitting in her room. But tonight, when all the visitors left, he'd be back. Dylan stood, and looked at the beautiful woman that slept peacefully before exiting her room. He'd check on her mother and then he'd report to work. After checking on Mrs. Johnson, Dylan walked out of the lobby heading to his car. As he drove out of the parking lot, he saw two of her friends entering the hospital. He called Carl, and asked him to keep him abreast if anything changed in this case. Dylan Nash, shook his head. So much had changed in the last few years. He'd become an officer, bought his own house, and was helping his younger brother go to school. He always wanted to meet someone, but he never thought she'd be a beautiful black woman with the eyes of a goddess and a body built for sin. Would she even consider dating a white guy? Especially a guy that looked like him: short, stocky, and balding. He was never going to be a GQ model, but he was a good guy. Maybe one day he would approach her, but not now. Now she needed a friend and that is what he would be. Besides, right now she needed time to heal, and a man in her life was the last thing she needed. Soon, he was home. He rushed in showered, dressed for the day and headed to his precinct. Keisha was in the hospital for over a week before she was coherent enough to understand what happened to her. Several officers came by and took her statements, and each one assured her that Deshaun was going away this time. She did not believe them. He'll be back; he always comes back. And each time I pay for it. I need to get home, and make dinner for him. Maybe, just maybe, he won't be so angry. If I apologize, then he would know I didn't mean for him to get locked up. I should have just made his dinner; sheesh, I'm so stupid! she thought to herself. She wanted to leave, but her doctor felt she needed more time. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 01 Doctor Kenneth Davidson had dealt with many battered women in his career. He recognized her fear. And knew she didn't need to be released. He ordered that the nurses insert medicine into her IV. It would help her calm down, and then he'd order a psychiatric evaluation. This girl was at a crisis point, and if she didn't get help, they'd lose her. He couldn't let her go home. That was the last place she needed to be. The nurse injected the medicine, and he heard her ask about her mother. Kenneth knew both women well. Her mother often found herself being treated in his ER of multiple contusions and bruises. It seems that the cycle of abuse was continuing. He told the nurses to take her to see her Mom; she could sit there for a while. When Keisha was wheeled into her mother's room, Lizzie Johnson was relieved. She thought her baby girl had died. Laying in her hospital bed, Lizzie was overjoyed to see her, but so very angry at the man that put her here. She was weak and could not get up to embrace her daughter. She was still fatigued from the pneumonia that landed her in the hospital. She reached for Keisha's hand and her daughter grasped her hand tightly. She saw the bandages and the cast. She was grateful that Keisha lived, but she was worried as well. That man would take her baby from her. "Momma, momma," Keisha whispered, tears cascading down her puffy brown cheeks. Lizzie's doctors had told her she had improved and could go home soon, but now she feared leaving Keisha here. Her baby needed her, and yet she couldn't take care of her because she was so weakened from her illness. Somehow, she would not leave her at the hospital alone. So she talked to her doctor and asked to stay a few more days. The extra few days would benefit her as well. Lizzie thanked him and decided to focus on Keisha. When she was released, Lizzie wanted her to move in with her. She'd talk to the residence manager, and beg if she had to. Lizzie, with help from the nurses on staff, checked on Keisha every day. Her visits helped, because Keisha regained her equilibrium. "Momma, hey." Keisha greeted her enthusiastically on one of her visits. "How are you Momma? You look so good. Momma, I love you. You know that right." She babbled on and on. Lizzie smiled and sat for a moment. "Baby, they say I have to go back to the home tomorrow. So I won't be able to stop by every day. But I will call and check on you, OK. And I will try to be back in a few days to visit." Lizzie smiled. Keisha was worried. They only had each other, and if Momma went home, she would be by herself. Knowing that her mother was deathly ill was a huge concern for the young woman, but she could not be there for her right now. Keisha needed someone to look out for her mother. She could call Mya, but she had two jobs. She thought of Mrs. Greene. Maybe she and her husband would watch out for her. Lizzie had the same concerns for her daughter. She didn't want to leave her in the hospital, but she had no choice. "Momma, I'm fine. I'm going to therapy and next week they will move me to a rehab center. It's in Baird, where Officer Nash lives. He's there and I can call him if I need help. OK, please don't worry about me. As soon as I'm able to, I'll come see you at the center, alright." Keisha smiled, hoping her words calmed her mother. "Momma, I'll ask Mya to help you if you need it. I can even call Mrs. Greene. She and her husband said I could call anytime. Maybe they can..." "Yes, I can call Felix and Desiree if I need help. They are good people. But listen, baby. Don't you worry about me. I'll be fine." She looked at her daughter. "That young man, the officer, he's just a friend, right?" she asked. Keisha looked confused. He wouldn't want someone with my baggage. she thought sadly. "Momma, he's a friend, that's all." She promised. "Mrs. Johnson, we need you back in your room. Your doctor is coming to check on you." a nurse called from the door. Keisha squeezed her mother's hand and nodded, signaling that she was alright. "I'm gonna talk to Mr. Jones and see if you can stay with me at my apartment when you get out of rehab. If you can't stay with me, I'll see if I can get our old apartment back." Lizzie stated before leaving with the nurse. "Momma, I'm fine. I'll be at the rehab center for at least two weeks. I still have my house. Look, you need to stay at Agape Meadows; you need the help they can give you there. I'll find a new place, I promise." Keisha assured her mother. Her mother smiled. "Keisha, I want you to go back to school. I want you to get a good job and get away from this place, hear me." She demanded. Keisha had a real shot. That boy was locked up, and she had a chance to get away. Lizzie managed to hide some money, and she'd make sure Keisha got it so she could start her life happy and free. Knowing she had to be discharged, Lizzie kissed her daughter's temple and stood to go back to her room with the nurse, when her daughter spoke once more. Keisha smiled, and nodded. Deshaun was gone and it was time for her to escape. She didn't want to leave her mother, but she wanted to be gone when he got out. "Momma, I'll finish school. But I will not leave you here." She promised. Keisha then hugged her mother who reaffirmed her love. Mrs. Johnson was scheduled to go home the next day and the Greene's were taking her. Mrs. Greene stopped by before they left. She wanted to check on Keisha and let her know that Lizzie would be taken care of. Keisha was stunned, and awed. Even though, they knew she didn't get along with their daughter, the Greene's always were there when she needed someone. Keisha smiled, and did not even try to hide her tears as she whispered "Thank you." Desiree hugged the young woman, and told her not to worry, and then her Mom stopped by once more. Soon the women left, and Mr. Greene came in. He sat by her bed for a moment and said, "You are a fighter, Keisha. You have fought your whole life. He will never win. Now you get well so you can take your life back." He whispered Keisha simply nodded, as he left. It was around noon, and she knew her two friends would stop by. Keisha ate her lunch as Mya and Davicia walked in. She mentioned her mother and Mya immediately told her she'd look out for her. Davicia chimed in, and Keisha went silent. Both her friends noticed. Mya and Davicia told her that her Mom would be fine. They'd check on her every day. Keisha trusted Mya, but she knew Davicia would report everything she said to Caveman, who'd tell Deshaun. "Girl, we will look after your Momma; she'll be fine." Davicia insisted. "I wanna know what's up with you and the cop. Quesha works nightshift and she told me that he is always in your room." Keisha froze and Mya spoke up. "Girl, you know how crazy Deshaun is. The girl is under police protection. If anyone messes with her, they will probably land in jail right beside Deshaun." She explained, clearly annoyed with their friend. Davicia nodded, "Girl you're probably right. Look, I need to go get my kids. Girl, don't worry. We'll look out for your Momma, alright." Davicia added before exiting the room. Mya stayed a few minutes, "Girl, I will treat your Momma like I treat my own. I got this, Ok. You get well." she hugged her friend and then left. As they exited the hospital, Mya could no longer contain her anger and she confronted Davicia. Mya turned on her friend. "Davicia, really, what was that? She's dealing with enough right now. You know what he did to her and how sick Ms. Lizzie is? What's wrong with you?" Davicia glared at her friend. Everyone looked out for Keisha. Hell, even her man was saying they needed to look out for her. She understood, but part of her was just jealous. What made Keisha so damn special. Davicia fumed. Mya was still venting, "Were you jealous when Deshaun beat her? Were you jealous when her Mom was being treated like she was? No, you laughed. You even snitched to Cave to keep her down. So, you don't have the right to question her. Go on with your life and leave Keisha alone." Mya demanded. "Mya, Deshaun is crazy. If he finds out that white man is hanging around her, it will make things worse. I never meant for her to get hurt. I told Cave those things because I was proud of my girl. I didn't know he'd hurt her, and now she no longer trusts me. I understand, but you need to know this Mya; you are not her only friend." Davicia then climbed into her friend's car and slammed the door. Keisha was glad to be alive, and although she knew he'd be locked up for two years, she knew he planned to make her pay when he got out. She decided not to stick around for that to happen. Someone walked in her room, and she froze. "It's me Keisha," Dylan spoke softly, "I'm here." She relaxed. This man made her feel safe. A part of her knew he'd never hurt her, but she wondered was he here just because he felt sorry for her. She looked at him. He was not the most handsome man, short and stocky. He did however, have the most soothing voice. Last year, when he gave her his card, she kept it close. She was too afraid to call him, but now he was here, and she wondered if it meant anything at all. Keisha was moved to Harmony Clinic and for two weeks she worked on gaining control off her muscles. It was hard, but everyday Dylan stopped by. Although Keisha acted as if it wasn't a big deal, she looked forward to seeing him. He was so kind, and he really seemed to care. But Keisha was scared because at times Deshaun could be nice as well, just like Frank. When she was younger, sometimes Frank would be kind. Usually it was after he'd beaten her mother, but she recalled being afraid all the time. Deshaun was always nice after he beat her. He promised not to hit her again. Swore he loved her, but eventually another beating would come. Dylan was just nice. He would sit with her, even when she was being bitchy. She wanted him there, buts she also wanted to push him away. He made her feel safe, yet he scared her as well. Every time he stopped by, her day became just a bit brighter, and she had a reason to smile. One day Keisha was having a hard time and Dylan stopped in. Before seeing her, he stopped to talk to a friend of his, a nurse that he had known since childhood. Keisha saw him with the other woman and was furious. "What do you want?" Keisha demanded when Dylan entered her room. Dylan was confused. It was obvious she was upset, but he was clueless. He had visited her every day, and this flip was puzzling. "Keisha, is everything-"she rudely interrupted. "Look, Officer Nash, I'm fine and I don't need a babysitter. I have better things to do than be your entertainment every night. I saw you talking to that ...that female. She might like someone that looks like you. Maybe you should spend your time with her." She stated clearly annoyed. Dylan was stunned. She was so mean and nasty, and he had not done anything to be treated so callously. "I mean I have a few more days here then I can find me a real man. Ooops, sorry, not implying you're not male. You're just not hard enough for me." She laughed derisively. At her laughter Dylan was upset. "Look Keisha, you will not talk to me this way. I can tell you want to be left alone. So I'll leave. You have my number if you need me." He turned to walk out but not before telling her one more thing. "Oh and Keisha, I'm not him. I'll never treat you like he did." Keisha was stunned, and hurt; he just left. He promised to be there, to be her friend. But as soon as another bitch looked at him, he walked. He was just like every other man, a dog. The nurse that had spoken to Dylan walked by and asked Keisha was she alright. Keisha didn't answer. With Deshaun, she learned to never speak to his women, and she was sure Dylan was the same. Dylan stayed away. It hurt, and he missed her. He would not however, allow her to paint him with the same brush as Deshaun. So Dylan took a few days and did not visit. His friend, Kelli called asking why he stopped. He explained that Keisha needed time and he was giving it to her. Meanwhile, Keisha missed him. No one visited. She was in a foul mood, and the other residents avoided her. The director even had her attend meetings with the therapist daily to cope with her mood swings. It was in one of the sessions that Keisha broke. Her therapist was aware of some of her history and didn't come across as trying to fix her. She just listened. During one of the final sessions she asked Keisha. Why? Keisha couldn't answer. Then she remembered being small and Frank moving in. She remembered the first time he beat her Mom and how powerless she was. Even as she grew older, she endured abuse. She was confused. The school would teach them to call the police, and when she was little she did. They came, and she got beat. She never called again. She never trusted them. The police protected other people. Dylan was nice. He made her smile. He was goofy, and silly. But she believed that with him she was safe. However, he didn't want someone like her. She was too damaged, used goods. He could have any woman he wanted, and it seemed that the blonde nurse caught his eye. The therapist listened, and she realized that this girl had developed serious feeling for her friend. However, right now she still needed to heal. Keisha shook, and leaned forward in her chair. Covering her face with her hands, Keisha swore she would not fall for the man that was her lifeline. He didn't want her. He wanted a woman like him. He wanted a woman that was stable, normal, and more than likely white. He would never be interested in being with a black girl. He was a nice man, and he deserved a nice woman, like the nurse, Kelli. Besides, she didn't want him to turn, and become the monster she was used too. Keisha moved from Harmony Clinic into an apartment near the rehab center. She would continue her treatments as an outpatient. She called Dylan and he came and helped her find an apartment and move. He even offered to take her to see her mother, but she refused and caught the bus. Keisha took time and enrolled in classes at a local training center. For the first time in her life, it seemed as if she could dream again. One weekend, Dylan invited her to his home. She went albeit reluctantly, and met his brother, who was just as goofy as he was. She also met some of his other friends. It was nice, and she enjoyed it. His brother, Carter, was five years younger than both of them. She and Dylan, she learned, were the same age. At thirty-one, Keisha felt like a schoolgirl when she was around Dylan, and Carter loved it. He spent the entire day teasing them and egging on his older brother. For the first time, Keisha laughed, and it felt wonderful. She and Dylan spent a lot of time together and their friendship grew. To Keisha, Dylan Nash was amazing. No one could hold a candle to him, but he saw her as only a friend. One night, Dylan stopped by her apartment, and they just watched television and had sandwiches. Keisha loved serving him, and a part of her wanted more, but she was not what he needed. He is amazing. I wish he could be mine., she would often think. She had no idea that at night she was all he dreamed of. Keisha kept up with her classes, and her friendship with Officer Nash grew. Back in her old home town, no one knew where she moved to. She came to town weekly to visit her mother, but beside that. She had no reason to stay in Newark. Mr. and Mrs. Greene promised her they'd look out for her Mom and they kept their word. Her mother was well cared for. She knew this because Talia's parents visited her daily. Her friend Mya also kept check on her and called with daily updates. The first few weeks, Davicia would often show up at her mother's home. She spoke with her, but would not tell her where she moved to. Eventually, she started to thinking that they were following her. The first time she saw Caveman's car behind her bus, she got off six blocks away from her home and went into a park. The next time she went to the local police station. She asked for Dylan, and he answered immediately. She told him about the car that followed her from Newark. Dylan didn't like this. Deshaun was locked up, but that didn't mean he would not try and have her hurt. He had her to give a description of the car and he called his friend Carl. For the next few weeks, Keisha did not go see her mother, because she just didn't feel safe. She called Mrs. Greene and explained what happened. The first thing Mrs. Greene did was calm her, and then she told her they'd make sure her mother was fine. Soon everything settled, and Caveman was questioned. He explained that he was just trying to make sure she was alright. He told the cops he was not working for Deshaun, and that they were no longer speaking. Keisha was in class one day she got a call from Mya. Her heart froze. Mya would not call unless it was an emergency. She rushed home to find that her mother had collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital, and three days later, she passed away peacefully Keisha fell apart, and her friend Mya was right there. Mya held her friend as she cried, and that was where Dylan found them at the hospital. His heart broke for her and he wished this was something he could fix. He went to her immediately and Keisha flowed into his embrace. He held her close, completely oblivious to the strange stares the two of them received. Some were jealous. Keisha Johnson had everything. She was beautiful, going to school, and now she had a man that would take care of her. Life was unfair. Caveman, came to the funeral home to show much respect to Keisha and her Mom. Mrs. Johnson was one of a few people that believed in him. She was the reason he decided to stop being a thug and go straight. He and Deshaun were always tight, but after what he did to Keisha this last time, he was done with him. So as Keisha prepared to bury he mother, Caveman apologized. He promised her that as far as he was concerned, he was no longer a threat to her. A week later, at Lizzie's funeral, many people from the neighborhood attended. Dylan attended and he stayed with her the whole time. His message was clear. She was with him, and if they had issue with it, tough. Caveman, made his way over to her and paid his respect. He greeted Dylan first, and then he addressed Keisha. His simple action sent a message to all of the other guys there. Keisha had a new man, and they would acknowledge him. Deshaun was his friend, but he didn't like the way he treated this girl. He and Davicia were together for the same amount of time, and he never put his hands on his woman. What Keisha didn't know was that many times, he felt had no choice but to report to Deshaun. They were homeboys, and had to look out for each other. Deshaun was five years older than him, and looked out for him on the streets. At first, he thought he was helping his friend, but after last year, he realized that something was wrong with his friend. He regretted telling him about the argument. Davicia told him that night, and she said that Keisha didn't back down. He told Deshaun hoping he'd see that he had a girl that would do anything for him. Unfortunately, he took it and beat the girl. Caveman knew it was then the Keisha no longer saw him or Davicia as friends, and she was right. He hated that Mrs. Johnson had passed. But he did do Keisha one solid. Earlier that day, her step-dad, Frank showed up. He and his friends delivered a message to that creep that he was not welcomed and needed to be gone. Frank was no fool and quickly made himself scarce. He was at Mrs. Johnson's funeral, and he knew Keisha had feelings for that white cop. He watched her with him. He suspected something over a year ago when she was bailing Deshaun out, but the officer left. Now he had no doubts. Keisha had a new man, and he was good for her. The services ended and everyone traveled to the cemetery. The graveside ceremony was solemn, ending with everyone but Keisha and Dylan leaving early. The Greene's agreed to host a repast at the community center, so a majority of the crowd went there. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 01 Keisha was frozen. She was now truly alone, and although she'd miss her Mom, she could finally just go. She was finally free. There was no reason to stay here. All of a sudden two arms encircled her and she leaned into his strength. "Keisha, I'm here. When no one else is around, I'm here." He whispered. Keisha smiled. Dylan was her one solid throughout this entire nightmare. He stayed by her side, helped her struggle through therapy, and was a strong shoulder when she needed to weep. "Thank you, Dylan. I don't know what I would do without you." Keisha whispered. "Well, it's good you never have to know. Do you want to go to the repast, or home?" he asked. "Let's go to the community center. Mr. and Mrs. Greene were kind enough to prepare a dinner. It would be rude not to attend." She answered. Dylan drove to the center. Everyone was eating, talking, and telling stories about her mother in her younger days. Many offered her their sympathies. Keisha graciously accepted their kind words. Dylan had her sit, while he went to prepare a plate for her. As he left, Talia sat beside her. "Keisha, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mother was nothing but kind to me. She will be missed." Talia spoke softly. Talia was hesitant about speaking to Keisha, as they were not friends. She was waiting for a smart aleck retort, but Keisha simply said, "Thank you." Talia stood to leave when Keisha asked her to stay. "I have always been jealous of you. You had everything I wanted and I hated you for it. Momma used to always tell me not to feel that way. When I was younger and Frank... Well anyway, I stopped caring. Then I met Deshaun. He wanted you, and because of that I hated you even more. You were right, and I hated that too. I buried my Momma today, and honestly she was the only person that gave a damn about me. She taught me many things and one was to admit when I was wrong. Talia, I'm sorry. The name-calling, hateful words, and the teasing you endured from me was wrong. I hope you can forgive me one day, but I understand if you cannot." Talia was stunned. Keisha Johnson admitted she was wrong. She apologized. "Um, Keisha, thank you for that. You know your mother wasn't the only person that cared. You have a whole community of people that are concerned for you. Don't shove them away." Talia stated. Keisha looked at her. She realized this woman that she hated for no reason was the only person beside her Mom to ever tell her the truth. "He gets out in a year and I won't be here waiting. I'm leaving. Besides, I don't have a reason to stay anymore." Her eyes gravitated to Dylan. Talia noticed and smiled. It seemed as if for once, Keisha could finally have the happiness she deserved. Dalia joined her twin, and sat on the other side of Keisha. The three women talked, and for the first time since they were five, they laughed together. Both women knew that Keisha had a hard childhood. Their father was instrumental in stopping a lot of the abuse. Then she hooked up with Deshaun. Once when they were kids, Felix saw Deshaun shove the girl and he intervened immediately. He went straight to Mrs. Johnson, but Frank refused to let her help. Talia and Dalia were so grateful that they had loving parents and a loving home. Dylan brought her some food, and the twins left the two of them alone. Dylan sat with Keisha and made sure she ate something. Everyone noticed how patient he was, and that he seemed to genuinely care for her. Soon it was late, and Keisha needed to leave. She walked over to the Greene's to thank them, and Mrs. Greene hugged her. "Keisha, sweetie, you can stay with us for a while if you need to, alright." She offered. Keisha smiled, and thanked her. Tonight, she'd stay at a hotel and finish clearing her mother's home the next day. She was donating all of her things to Agape Meadows, but she wanted to remove any personal belongings that she'd left. Dylan drove her to the Homestyle Inn, where he secured two rooms for the both of them. Dylan walked Keisha to her room, and did not want to leave her alone. So they sat in her room and talked a while. She told him of the years before Frank, and they laughed at the memories. Soon they went their separate ways and slept. Dylan, and The Greene women met her and helped her clear her mother's room. Talia surprised her by hugging her, and promising to be there if she ever needed her. Keisha was stunned, because she knew that she'd made this woman's life a living hell. But this was just like Talia, she never held a grudge. So Keisha hugged her back and thanked her sincerely. Once everything was donated or secured to take back, Keisha realized that this would be her last time seeing these people together. The thought was sobering, but to keep them safe, she had to go. She thanked each person that was there and then she and Dylan headed back home. The drive back was silent. Finally, Dylan spoke. "How long will you stay before you leave?'" he asked. Keisha gasped, "How did you know? I never said..." she stopped. "You only stayed this close because of your Mom. I know that. I also know you want to be as far away from here as you can get because of him. But Keisha, I will protect you from him. You don't have to leave." Dylan spoke softly. Keisha took a deep breath, and smiled. "You are the only reason I am tempted to stay. But if I stay he will come after you. I won't risk you or anyone else. Dylan, you are my best friend. I would not have survived without you. So thank you for being here and giving me a reason to hold on." She whispered. He drove to her apartment building, and being ever the gentleman escorted her to her door. "Keisha, can we talk for a moment?" he asked, his heart pounding. She invited him inside. Dylan entered and had a seat on her futon, that was also her bed. "Keisha, he won't be out for over a year. You don't have to run from him. You know he'll be monitored, and you can get a restraining order. If he comes near you, he'll go right back to prison. Who knows, he might not get out. He's a hot head. He fucks up once and he loses his probation and serves all five years. I won't let him hurt you. He will never get near you. Will you trust me Keisha, believe in me?" Dylan pleaded. Keisha stroked his cheek. "You are the only one I believe in Dylan. When you gave me your card, I believed you. But I know him. He will come after me, and if he thinks I'm here with you, he will hurt you. If he gets out and I'm gone, then he has no reason to target you or anyone else. Besides, what would people think? I mean we are different. Your friends rarely visit you anymore now, and I've been to the precinct and see how they treat you there. I'm not what you need. You need someone they can respect, not a washed up hood-rat." She whispered. "Don't ever say such horrible things about yourself. You are just as good as everyone else, even better than some." He retorted annoyed and frustrated. He wanted her to stay and right now he'd give anything for that to happen. Why couldn't she see herself as he saw her? She was always putting herself down and he couldn't stand it. No one would insult the woman he loved, not even that woman herself. Thank you all for reading chapter one of "When a Woman's Fed Up." I know it was short, but I certainly hope you enjoyed it. I will submit chapter two as soon as it's done. So please be patient. Please comment and vote, When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 02 Hello readers, Thank you all for reading Dark Chocolate: A Mature Story. This is continuation of that story. The character Keisha was introduced briefly in chapter two of that tale, and for some reason I feel compelled to tell her story. I must state that these are fictional characters and exist solely in my imagination. This is an interracial love story. In this chapter, chapter 2, Dylan and Keisha grow closer. Thank you, Overstar, for editing this chapter. Please read it and enjoy. Also I ask that you do not replicate this story without asking. Writing is hard work and I really take it seriously. IR2R Keisha was speechless. She believed him. She honestly believed he would try to protect her. But she knew Deshaun. He saw her as his personal property, and he would blame her for whatever befell him. To protect Dylan, Carter, and others that she cared about, she needed to be someplace else when he came home. She stopped and looked at the man that was her lifeline. He was one of the best people she knew. He gave selflessly, and asked for nothing in return. Keisha loved spending time with him, and she would not have made it through the last week without him. Dylan Nash was a gem, and she wanted more than anything to spend time being the woman in his life. But she was toxic. He could get hurt, and she would never allow that. So she listened as he spoke, her heart filled with awe at the depth of emotions he expressed. I wish it were possible, safe to stay here, but Deshaun is crazy. I can't endanger him. "Dylan, listen, as much as I want to say yes, I know Deshaun Williams. He is sick. He always comes back, and baby...." Keisha whispered. She sat beside him, and he pulled her into his arms. He held her close, loving the feel of her body against his. Keisha exhaled and relaxed. No man should feel this good. "Dylan," she whispered and he kissed her. Keisha was lost in that moment. No matter what else happened, tonight he was hers. Turning slowly, he covered her body with his deepening the kiss. Keisha responded giving him full access to her body. Dylan lay between her spread thighs and instinctively rubbed his body into hers. Keisha moaned. She was so hot, wet, and ready. He stopped, "I'm sorry. You just buried your mother; I can't take advantage of you." He whispered, extracting himself from her slowly. "Are you serious right now?" she demanded. This man was driving her insane. She had wanted him for months, and now he decided to play gentleman. NO! Reversing their positions, Keisha now sat astride him. She gyrated slowly, luxuriating in the feel of his hard cock pressed so firmly against her. "Baby, please," she whispered. "For once, I want to know what it's like with someone special." "Keisha, you don't understand. I am falling for you, and if we do this I can't let you go." He inhaled. Keisha froze. She smiled and kissed him once more. "OK, I'll stop." She climbed from his lap and moved across the room. Dylan took a few deep breaths and soon he was back in control. Keisha turned to face him. "This is the hardest thing I'll ever do Dylan. Leaving you will rip me apart. But if leaving will keep you safe and me alive, then I'll go." She explained. "I just wish..." she stopped trying hard not to cry. He had to hold her then. He had to comfort her. "Baby, listen. Don't leave right away. Give it a few months. If you stay a few months and I can guarantee that he won't come near you, then you won't have to leave. If you still have doubt, then I'll help you find someplace new, alright." He swore. He knew that if she left, he was going to have to go with her. He would not spend his life without the woman that he grew to care about so much. Keisha returned his embrace, loving how strong and fluffy that he felt. She closed her eyes and inhaled his masculine scent. She didn't know which cologne he wore, but she knew she'd never forget the fragrance. "OK, now you have an early shift, so home with you." She ordered. "Yes, Ma'am," Dylan whispered, laughing as he stood to leave. Keisha held his hand as he walked to her door. Dylan kissed her once more, and whispered, "You won't vanish tonight, right?" Keisha said, "No, I'll be here tomorrow." Then he left. Dylan left, and Keisha watched him drive away. She smiled as she thought of him, and then she spied the box of her mother's things on the table. The tears came once again. "Oh Momma," she whispered, as she retrieved a picture she and her mother had made when she was much younger; a picture before Frank, before Deshaun, before life took a turn for the worse. Dylan drove home, but honestly, he did not want to leave her. She needed him, and he should have stayed. He was going back. He called Carter and told him he was staying with Keisha tonight. "Way to go big bro, it's about time." Carter teased. "It's not like that, Carter. I just need..." he stopped. "Man I was teasing. She needs you, so stay there." Carter explained. Dylan turned around and went back to her apartment. She had given him her spare key, so he let himself in. His heart breaking as he found her holding a photo of her mother crying her heart out. "Aw baby, I'm here." He whispered. Keisha moved into his embrace and he held her. She cried and he cried with her. He knew this hurt, because her Mom was her life. "She loved you so much baby. You know that. I know you miss her." "I miss her so much, Dylan. She was the only person that cared about me. No matter what I did, Momma was there." She sobbed. "I know, and I know it hurts, but baby, I'm here." He reassured her. They lay on her bed, and he held her close. Eventually, she slept. He didn't. Dylan lay awake, next to Keisha. He watched her sleep listened to her snore softly, and dreamt of the time that he could spend his life with this woman. The next morning Dylan awoke and made a quick breakfast for the two of them. Keisha awoke to the smell of fresh coffee. "Um, a girl could get used to this." She mumbled as she awoke to find the object of her desire standing in her kitchen wearing his white tee and dark slacks. "Good morning, beautiful. Hit the shower while I put breakfast out, Ok." he ordered. Keisha moved quickly and joined him shortly at the table. He'd prepared French toast, scrambled eggs and coffee. Keisha smiled and joked, "A girl could get used to this. You might spoil me." Dylan smiled. "I will if you let me. Now let's eat." They ate breakfast and soon both had to get to their respective jobs. Keisha took a bite of her toast, and was in heaven. "Ohhhh, Dylan, " she moaned, her eyes closed as she savored the caramelized crust of the lightly sprinkled cinnamon and brown sugar of the succulent buttery toast that she was eating." "Fuck, she has no idea, how sexy she is." Dylan thought, his cock instantly hardened at the expression on her face and the sounds her body made. Then he watched as she gently place the stiff piece of toast between her soft plush brown lips. He wondered how those lips would feel wrapped around his cock. Then she licked her lips, and he almost came standing in her kitchen. I'm horrible. he thought to himself. She just buried her Mom. Has a lunatic ex-boyfriend, and is trying to make a better life for herself, and all I can think about is fucking her. I'm sick. Dylan castigated himself. Seeing him frown, Keisha became concerned. "Hey, Dylan, what's wrong? He turned away. "Nothing, I need to get home so I can report in. Do you need a lift. I can drop you off." He offered. "Yes, thank you. Together they washed the few dishes and were soon ready to head out. Keisha noticed that Dylan had gone silent. "Dylan, did I do something..." he cut her off. "No baby. I was watching you eat and..." he looked away and blushed. Keisha realized her effect on him. Reaching over, she took his hand in hers. "Dylan, all you have to do is ask. I'm yours." She whispered. Dylan took a deep breath and answered. "That's not true. If you were mine, you wouldn't be thinking about leaving." Keisha dropped her head. She felt elated, embarrassed, afraid, and so desperately hating the thought of disappointing the amazing man that drove as they talked. Soon, they drove into his yard and went inside. Carter was just leaving but he took a moment to hug Keisha before he left. She sat in the game room and waited as Dylan dressed. Keisha was admiring pictures of his family that lined the wall of the room when he entered. He stopped in the door. He watched her, and was stunned by her sheer beauty. She no longer wore layers of makeup to hide for face. She wore her hair cut in a neat short style that so many women wore today. Her caramel skin was shiny, moist, pleasing to his eye. She has the softest looking lips, and he often desired to taste them. She was all woman, from the top of her head to the sole of her delicate feet. Her curvaceous frame called him, and he dreamt of being able to one day peel away the layers of clothing as their bodies touched skin to skin. Keisha Johnson, was all woman, and one day she would be all his. Clearing his throat, Dylan caught her attention. Keisha looked at him, wearing his nave uniform and smiled. He was one fine specimen. Was he model gorgeous, no, just normal, but to her he was the most and handsome man alive. "Hey, you ready? "He asked. Keisha turned, grabbed her bag and answered, "As ready as I'll ever be." They left and he drove her to her job. As he dropped her off, he whispered. "Sweetheart, you have a wonderful day. I'll pick you up at five, OK." Keisha loved the sound, deep timbre of his voice. She simply smiled and answered. "You be safe, aright. I'll see you at five." She paused and for a second they stared at each other. Eventually, the sounds around them broke into their trance and they went their separate ways. This was Keisha's first day at work since her mother's funeral. Her coworkers offered their sympathies, but the day went on as usual. She was grateful, because at least here, her life returned to normal. Dylan arrived at his precinct none the worse for wear. He was meeting a new partner today. He and his old partner split up at his partner's request. Dylan had no idea why he wanted a new partner, so before taking the days off to be with Keisha, he asked, "Son, you're a good cop. That I can respect, but that girl is not good for you. She will ruin you. I can't condone it and I won't have anything to do with it." He looked at Dylan, and added, "Heed my advice boy. You'd be better off with your own kind." Then he walked away. It was then that he realized that many at his precinct had disassociated with him. He never said anything to Keisha, and that's why her words affected him so gravely. Somehow she knew. "Good morning, Officer Nash. I want you to meet your new partner, Lana Davis. Lana just transferred in from the Roanoke Office. She has three years' experience. Also, she scored the highest on the shooting range, a natural marksman this girl." Dylan looked at his new partner, a gorgeous brunette. She extended her hand and he shook it. "Officer Nash, I look forward to working with you." Lana replied. Dylan returned the sentiment, and they were given their assignments for the day. As he and his new partner sat in the car, they were silent. "So Dylan, tell me about the great city of Baird." Lana stated. "Well, there's not much to tell. The population is just under six thousand. The population is mixed. The city has a racial make-up of majority Caucasian, and a few African Americans. The Hispanic community is expanding, and there are a few members of the Asian community. It's pretty quite here. The crime rate is not as high as larger cities; our biggest thing here is domestic disputes. Like I said, it's not that bad." He concluded. "What about nightlife? I mean what can a single girl get into here?"She asked. Dylan smiled, "Well we have a few night clubs. There is a movie theater and pool hall. The younger kids hang out at the bowling alley and roller rink." Lana nodded, and then she said, "How do the people here feel about interracial dating?" She paused as she expected him to be like most southern gentleman, but he surprised her. "I personally have no problem with it, as the woman I am in love with is black. But others here have serious issue. So your lover is..." he paused "My boyfriend is Cherokee, full blown, and he wants me to keep our relationship secret. That's why they transferred me. I wouldn't let them fuck with the local tribe in the town. They decided that my presence was not welcomed, and once they learned about Chase, I was transferred out. He is coming to see me this weekend, and I want to show him a good time. However, I don't want him to be uncomfortable." Lana explained. Dylan nodded. "I'll have a cookout at my house this Saturday, and you can bring Chase. I'll bring Keisha and we can all get to know each other. How about it?" he asked. Lana smiled and said, "I knew I liked you. Thanks." Just then a call came through and they were off. The rest of the day was uneventful. They wrote several traffic tickets, stopped two fights, and foiled an armed robbery attempt. Soon it was time to go home. Dylan liked his new partner, and was excited to tell Keisha about her. Would she be alright with him working with a woman, he hoped so. That was why he wanted her to join them with her boyfriend so Keisha would know she wasn't a threat. Dylan drove over to Dyson's Dept. Store where Keisha worked to pick her up. He parked and entered the store. She wasn't off yet, but he needed to see her. As a fashion consultant, she would often help clients find the right fit and look for themselves. She was extremely good at her job. She could help the richest client as well as the client that was on a budget. She never made any of them feel devalued. Dylan sat and watched her work. She was helping an older lady select an evening gown. The gown she showed the lady was a little risqué, but in the end the client loved it. She looked over to him and smiled He waved and she continued helping the client. Soon her day ended, and she headed his way. Her smile was so bright, and free. He knew she was glad to see him. He moved to greet her with a kiss, but she shied away. It bothered him that she never let him kiss her in public. He knew she wanted him. Often, when they would be alone, they would touch and kiss intimately, he wondered if she was ashamed of him. She was gorgeous, and he was not the best looking guy, had a thinning spot in the center of his head, and was a bit chunky. On the drive to her house, he mentioned his new partner. Keisha listened, and when he finished she asked. "Your old partner had a problem with you dating someone outside of your race didn't he?" Dylan paused, "He's old and set in his ways. Don't worry about people like him." He told her. "Dylan how many others have a problem with you dating a black girl?' she asked. "Keisha, it's just skin. I care about you and I don't care if your skin is purple. It's not about them; it's about us." He whispered. Keisha loved him, and that was what scared her. If it ever got back to Deshaun, whether she was here or not, he'd hurt him just to hurt her. Maybe, the other people were right. She was damaged goods, with too much baggage. "Anyway, we're having a cookout at my house and Lana is bringing her boyfriend Chase over. He's visiting for the weekend and she wanted a place to take him where he would feel comfortable. I figured we could get together and give all the four of us a chance to meet." Dylan explained, as he drove into his yard. Keisha smiled, "I thought you were taking me home." Dylan laughed, "I want to feed you first, woman. And I know you'll refuse to go out with me." Although he laughed, Keisha new her constant refusals hurt him. He didn't understand how dangerous it was for her being with him. It wasn't a race thing, but Deshaun had people everywhere. If he got a hint that their relationship was something more than friends, he'd have his boys take one of them out right away. To keep him safe, she had to pretend they were friends. "Don't think about him. He is not here." Dylan whispered. "I won't let him hurt you Dylan. It would kill me if he hurt you." She whispered, tears forming in her eyes. "Baby, he has over a year left to serve. Don't worry about Deshaun, he can't hurt us. OK." Dylan whispered, as he pulled her into his lap and kissed her the way he desired to earlier. For once Keisha gave in to what she wanted. She wanted him, this man that meant the world to her. "Wait, it's your house, what do you mean we are having a cookout? You and your brother can have a cookout, and I will be one of the guest." she teased, shoving him playfully. Dylan laughed and kissed her once more. Keisha held on to him tightly, hating to let go, but also knowing that she had too. "OK, so Miss Johnson, what would you like for dinner?" Dylan asked as she got out of his lap. "Let's see," she answered heading into his kitchen. Raiding his refrigerator, Keisha found the makings of a chicken salad meal. She made the chicken salad, while Dylan put together a garden salad and chilled a nice white wine to accompany the meal. As they were eating, Carter came home and joined them. The three shared a camaraderie of good friends with Carter flirting with Keisha much to Dylan's dismay. Keisha laughed at his brother's antics, but a part of him wondered if she wanted a younger, fit, more attractive man. He and his brother looked alike; however, Carter was taller, slimmer, and more handsome. He sat quietly and watched the two most important people in his life banter back and forth. Carter noticed how quiet his brother had become and toned down his teasing. Keisha enjoyed being around Carter because he never let her hide or be ashamed of what she was. He was so much like Dylan and she knew she'd miss him when the time came for her to go. She would go, as much as she hated to leave Dylan. Staying was not an option, but she wouldn't run right away. She'd wait a few weeks. She could easily transfer to another store and her boss had already procured two prominent post, all she had to do was decide which city to go to. She would tell him where she went, because she could not imagine being away from him and never hearing his voice. "Hey Keisha, I'm stopping. When you leave, Dylan will kick my ass. He's a cop, you know, and he doesn't want me stealing his woman." Carter teased. Keisha looked a Dylan, and could see a small frown furrow across his brow. Not even realizing that she'd moved, she slipped her arms around his waist and kissed him softly on the lip. "You have no need to worry." Dylan relaxed and Carter laughed. "Dylan held her close and inhaled her fragrance. "If only that were true." He whispered. Keisha looked deeply into his soothing chocolate eyes, and she felt guilty. What she was doing was wrong. On one hand, she told him they had no future, but on the other hand she couldn't resist him. "Well I see you two need time alone; I'll clean up and then study for exams. I'll leave you to it. Keisha, don't be a stranger," Carter said as he hugged her before heading to the kitchen to clean. "Let me drive you home. Or would you rather stay here?" Dylan asked. He knew she'd refuse, but he had to ask. "I have to work tomorrow and I don't have clothes. Besides, you know we wouldn't get much sleep." Keisha gasped as several erotic images of them popped into her mind. Dylan had the same thoughts, and they both waited a beat before continuing. "Keish..." Dylan whispered. Her body reacted instantaneously. Her nipples hardened, her pussy swelled, and her heart was pounding. He knew, somehow, he knew how he affected her. She wanted to be with him as badly as he wanted her. But she would deny them both. She felt he would be in danger, and in her mind she had to resist him to keep him safe. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 02 "Come on, let me drive you home." Dylan spoke after a few minutes of silence. On the drive home, Keisha was silent. As he drove to her apartment, she asked a question. "Dylan, what if you came with me?'" She looked across her parking lot and he spoke. "Let's talk in your apartment." Dylan walked to her door, took her key, and let the both of them in. The apartment was a bit warm because she didn't leave her air conditioner running, and heat in the south was brutal. Keisha walked in and turned the air on, Dylan secured the door and waited a few minutes for her to return. Keisha faced him and took deep breath, "You know I must go, Dylan. But I was thinking, you can come with me." She took a breath. "I have a job, and can support us until you find a new precinct. We can go someplace where no one knows us." Dylan didn't respond. He waited. "I mean, it might be for the best anyway. If I'm gone, Deshaun might forget and move on. He might..." Dylan spoke, "Go after Carter, Mya, or hurt the Greenes. Keisha, think about it, if you go, he will hurt someone anyway. But baby, if you stay here, I will die before I let him near you. Any action on his part is a one way ticket back to jail. But he still has fourteen months left, he won't be out for a longtime. Crying Keisha faced him, "I can't. But you're right. If he hurts them, I'll never forgive myself. Dylan, I don't know what to do." she sobbed. He had to hold her. He had to comfort her in some way. He would call the DA tomorrow and ask if he could learn anything on Deshaun's incarceration. Maybe, just maybe he'd fucked up once more and wouldn't be out. "Baby, I'll talk to the DA tomorrow, maybe she can tell me something, OK. Just, wait and let me try. Promise me you'll let me try alright." He asked. Keisha held on tightly to him. Dylan sighed, "Hey, you and I have to be up early. Maybe I should..." "Dylan, stay. This time, stay." Keisha whispered. "Baby, you have no idea what you are asking me." He groaned. His body hummed with anticipation of her. She was all he dreamed of., all he wanted. Keisha unbuttoned her top, exposing the curve of her ample breast. Her lacy black bra came clearly into view and Dylan could not move. Soon the blouse was completely open, and nothing short of a nuclear explosion would move him from the spot at which he stood. "Keisha, baby, please," he moaned. "Tonight, I'm yours Dylan, only yours." She slowly slid her blouse down her shoulders. It fell to the floor. Dylan stood staring, transfixed by her beauty. Soon she removed the skirt she wore. Standing before him in her lace bra and panties, Keisha was nervous. Maybe she read him wrong. Dylan moved and pulled her body into is. Needing to feel his skin, Keisha frantically fought the buttons of his uniform, he paused and removed the offensive garment, his tee shirt, and slacks soon followed. He wasn't sure about removing his clothes, but the way she looked at him made his desire burn even hotter. Dylan knew he wasn't the best looking man, but the desire in her eyes made him feel like a model. "Come here girl." She flowed into his embrace, and he devoured her. Her skin pressed into his and he was in heaven. They devoured each other at this point, tongues dueling in a battle of dominance both knew that tonight things for them would change. Lifting her, He carried her to her bed, covering her body with his. There was no longer pretense, only white burning passion. Tasting her skin, Dylan feasted on her breast. Perfection, simply perfect. he thought as he treasured the caramel colored mounds topped by chocolate tipped nipples. "Dylan please?" Keisha whispered and within seconds he'd ripped her minuscule lacy panties and bra from her body. She lay naked before him, an ebony goddess. Soon he removed his final garment and they both admired the others frame. She was absolutely perfect in his eyes. And to her, no man compared to the male before her. "We'll talk later," he whispered, "Now I need..." and Keisha was consumed by his desire for her. Tasting her breast, Dylan cold no longer hold back from the one thing he desired most. "Baby, I promise to go slower next time," as he climbed between her thighs to take possession of what he truly considered his. Her dark pussy was so wet, so wanting that he moaned as he rubbed his thick cock against her folds. "Baby, please," she whimpered, a slave to her own desires for the man on top of her. "Condom, I need a condom," he groaned as he paused. He was about to burst simply from the thought of filling her His cock throbbed almost painfully. At this point, there was no turning back. This would happen and it was happening tonight. Keisha smiled, and then reached into a drawer on the table next to the futon. Extracting a small box of condoms, she smiled. "I knew we'd be together, so I bought some months ago." Ripping the box open, extracting a condom, Dylan made short work of covering his well-endowed member and then inch by excruiating inch, he entered her hot body. "Fuck Dylan, yes," she moaned. No man should feel this good. The feel of him penetrating her made her cum, her juices flowed freely around his hard cock, and her voracious pussy ate his rigid rod. "Oh god, Keisha damn girl." He moaned as her heat engulfed him. Dylan knew he wouldn't last long because he was finally inside the one woman who could bring him to his knees sliding in and out of her body, listening to the cries of ecstasy, he felt her capitulate, as her feminine cavern gripped him tightly. Within seconds he filled the condom he wore to almost bursting. The lay in each other's arms, panting, exhausted, and elated. "Dylan, that was..." Keisha was rendered speechless. No man had ever made her come so hard, so quickly as he did. "Dylan held her tightly, her body pressed into his and he knew that he had to be with her again "Keisha baby, ready for round two." She giggled and within minutes he was buried deep inside of her once again. He needed to be the only man she thought of He needed her to forget everyone else. So he took full control. Lifting her knees with his elbows, he exposed her entire pussy to his cock. He looked at where they were joined and entered her balls deep. His brown hair pressed against the darkened hair that covered her opening. In this position, Keisha felt every inch of him. Then she uttered the words that drove him insane with lust. "Fuck me baby. Fuck me hard." Dylan rode her viciously. The sounds of their sex permeated the room. She was his, and no other man could have her He just had to make her realize this fact. He loved her long, hard, and completely. Keisha was amazed at his prowess. No man had ever driven her to the heights of passion that Dylan did. She never came as hard or as often with anyone else. She had heard of it, but figured it wasn't for her. He was an animal in bed. She tried to halt her screams, but he loved her so well, so thoroughly, she could not help but moan. Her pussy belonged to him, no one else. No man could ever do to her what he did. "Ddddyyyllllaaannnn!" she screamed in the mist of her fourth or fifth climax. She'd had so many, she stopped counting. He was still going, and showed no signs of stopping soon; her man, Dylan. "Cum for me baby; cum on my cock." He demanded, and she did. Sobbing, shaking, and awed, Keisha was a mass of emotions. Dylan followed her into another glorious abyss. He rolled off top and discarded the second used condom for the night. Keisha went to the bathroom, as Dylan lay in her bed waiting for her to return, She returned and joined him, and he smiled, pulling her into his embrace. "Next time, baby. I want you on top." He whispered. Keisha trembled with anticipation. Then she smiled, "Whatever you want, Love. I'm yours." She then dozed. Dylan thought about the whole situation, Keisha, Detain, her leaving, and he was saddened. He could not lose her, not now. Not when he'd just found her. She said she was his, right. Maybe, just maybe he could convince her to really believe that. Keisha stirred, and her sex rubbed against his thigh. He was rock hard once again, but his lover was resting. He'd be patient and wake her in the morning. Kissing her head, Dylan closed his eyes and rested. Keisha woke early and was pleased to find Dylan cradling her in his arms. Slowly, she climbed from the bed, freshened up, and started breakfast for the two of them. Dylan awoke to the smell of fresh coffee and Danish. The rest of the week flew by with Dylan continuously pinching himself to make sure this was happening. Saturday morning arrived and he was preparing for the cookout. He asked Carter to help and man the grill. They ended up inviting a few cousins and other people from the department over. Soon it was after five and people started arriving. Keisha arrived, and Dylan was instantly aroused. Since they moved to a new chapter in their relationship, he found himself in a constant state of horniness. "Hey babe, glad you made it." He greeted her with a kiss, pressing his hardened member into her. Keisha laughed and answered, "I see. Play nice, and I'll take care of him later." She whispered as she returned a quick embrace. Carter walked in and quickly stole Keisha from his big brother. He loved talking with her and wanted her to help prep the meats. Dylan greets the other guest as they arrived. Soon Lana came and brought Chase with her. His Native American heritage was clear, deep brown skin, shoulder length black hair and eyes as black as night. His eyes seemed to peer right through a person. Chase was not a small man, but tall in stature and just as wide, with broad shoulders on top of a powerful frame. For a moment, Dylan felt intimidated. He wondered if Keisha would find this man attractive, but Lana laughed and introduced her boyfriend to her new partner. Chase extended his hand and Dylan welcomed him to his home. Chase was also observing his woman's new partner. He wasn't tall and was a bit rounder, but he was a man of good character. He was honorable and had a clean aura. After shaking his hand, Chase felt a bit more at ease. He liked him, and knew his love would be protected. Dylan relaxed and smiled. "Wait, I want you to meet someone." he stated, "Keisha, come here love." Keisha appeared and Lana immediately was struck by how lovely she was. Chase stiffened. Dylan made quick introductions, but Chase's eyes never left Keisha. You see Chase was a descendant of a long line of seers. He denied his gift, but that didn't make him not have it. He saw a dark cloud around the beautiful black girl, an evil that wanted to take her from this life. However, when she stood with her man, the darkness would flee, it had no power. For her to truly be happy, the dark cloud needed to be vanquished. Chase immediately took her hand and spoke in his native tongue. Keisha was startled, but then she felt content. She wasn't sure what he said, but the words gave her peace. "Hello, Lana and Chase, I'm happy to meet you." She greeted gracefully. Feeling at ease for the first time in so long, she was actually happy to meet these two people. Lana smiled. And responded, "Same here, it's nice to meet the woman that keeps this guy in line. Tell me Keisha, what's your secret." She joked. The women laughed and Keisha said, "Come on, his brother is manning the grill. You need to meet him. Let's go see Carter." They walked off. Dylan and Chase chatted, becoming even more comfortable with each other. While talking, Chase could sense Dylan's anxiety and he knew it was because of his woman and the dark shadow. "I have just met you, but I like you Dylan. I know something is not right here, but you must stand strong. If you ever need me, call." Chase stated cryptically as he glanced at the door that the women had just vanished behind. Dylan accepted his offer, not really knowing why, but knowing he needed too. For some reason, he felt as if he no longer fought alone; he had backup. Carter and the women came out, and the girls laughed, breaking the melancholy mood he found himself in. Soon more friends arrived and Dylan introduced Chase to his friends and the a few of his cousins that came. Carter fired up the grill, and was introduced to Chase as well. Chase observed him as well, and noted that he had an aura the same as his brother. Carter, ever the flirt, told Chase to watch out, because he planned to steal his woman. He couldn't steal Keisha, so Lana was next. Lana laughed, and kissed her lover and replied, "I don't play with children." Everyone laughed. The man relaxed and everyone enjoyed their evening. Soon the party ended and as Lana and Chase left, the two women made plans to get together on Saturday. As they drove back to Lana's apartment, Chase spoke candidly. "She is in danger, and he knows. A dark spirit surrounds her. He can protect her, but they both will be hurt badly. Lana, I fear you may be hurt. Please if at any time you are afraid, distance yourself." Lana looked at her lover, the one man that she would never betray. "Chase, I love you. But you know I cannot abandon them. If a time comes and they need me, I'm there. Dylan is a good person and he is the only one that has really welcomed me here. She is his heart. As his partner, it's my duty to protect his heart." Chase sighed, "I know. That's what I am afraid of." He looked at his woman. He looked at this white girl who had taken over his life by storm. "Lana, you are my heart. If this evil touches you, no one will be safe from the vengeance of the Gods, so baby, please, stay safe." They had arrived at her apartment and had gone inside before Lana spoke once more. "So, baby, do you like my partner?" she asked climbing on top of his lanky frame. "He is a good man, honorable. So I won't have to hurt him for looking at my girl." Chase teased. "But his brother, well..." "Right, I'm your girl, Chase. Never forget that." she whispered as she surrendered to her need to taste her man. She proceeded to remind him of what he loved about her. Keisha and Dylan were inseparable. For several months they conducted a clandestine love affair. She didn't want to cause problems for him at work. He stayed with her most nights, because she refused to stay at his home. Carter teased him mercilessly. He took the jokes in stride. One day as he was picking Keisha up from work he could tell something was off. She'd gotten a call from the DA. She needed to report to his office on Monday. That call served as a painful reminder that her life was not her own, and she needed to make herself scarce. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 02 His lawyer nodded and then stated, "Do not react to anything she says. They will be watching you, so keep your composure. You have paid for your crimes against her and now you should be allowed to go home. Do not address her, only speak to the judge or me, understand? When the DA questions you, answer honestly, but remain calm." Deshaun nodded. He knew how to play the game, and in a few months for one Ms. Keisha Johnson, it was Game Over! Anyone that tried to stop him were gone too. This was it. He had to show her to whom she belonged for one final time. His lawyer finished talking and called the guard. The guard escorted him back to holding area. Deshaun was holding a tin cup, and managed to crush the cup into oblivion. Realizing what he'd done, he discarded the dish, and lay quietly on his bunk. He meditated, dreaming of the delicious ways Keisha would beg for her life, before he snuffed it out for good. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 03 Hello readers, Thank you all for reading Dark Chocolate: A Mature Story. This is continuation of that story. The character Keisha was introduced briefly in chapter two of that tale, and for some reason I feel compelled to tell her story. I must state that these are fictional characters and exist solely in my imagination. Also, thank you Willieone and 2275Jr for helping me edit and revise this chapter. You guys are the best. I did tweak the story before submitting it, so any errors found are my fault alone. This is an interracial love story. In this chapter, chapter 3, Deshaun comes home. Please read it and enjoy. Also I ask that you do not replicate this story without asking. Writing is hard work and I really take it seriously. IR2R The next morning, Lana and Chase rode to Dylan's house. As they arrived, Lana immediately rushed inside to check on Keisha. She was relieved to see her new friend. As Keisha assured Lana that she was alright, the Greenes and Mya arrived. Surprised but happy, Keisha embraced her guest. She cried as Felix hugged her and reaffirmed that they cared about her. Desiree followed and Keisha hugged her so tightly, never wanting to let go. Mya cleared her throat, and a new flood of tears came, as Keisha greeted her one true sister. Mya was more to her than a friend. "How? Why?" she asked, just happy to see them.. Dylan called them last night as she slept. He invited them to his home and they arrived that Sunday afternoon. Mya hugged her friend. Since Keisha relocated to Baird, they rarely saw each other. Mr. Greene and his wife considered Keisha one of their own. So when Dylan called, they knew where they were headed. "Keisha, we are going with you Monday. What time do you have to be there?" Felix asked. "Nine, but no Mr. and Mrs. Greene I can go alone. It's just the DA. I'll be fine." She reassured her elderly friend. Desiree stood rubbing her back comforting her. "I'm going with her," Dylan stated. Felix and Desiree nodded, relieved that the she would not be alone. The next morning, Dylan drove Keisha into Newark to meet with the DA. As they talked, he considered having her leave town for a while. The DA met Keisha as soon as she walked into her office. She wished she had better news for her, but in reality, Williams had fooled many people. He would be released in six months. It was now her job to prepare Ms. Johnson for this event. "Hello, Ms. Johnson, Officer Nash. I'm glad you could make it. Officer Nash, I was not expecting you." She added taking note of his possessive hold on her waist. "Morning, Ma'am, call me Keisha." Keisha extended her hand as the woman greeted her. "Morning, DA Jones, I wish we were meeting under better circumstances." Dylan greeted his former coworker. "Alright, Keisha I called you to update you on the status of Deshaun Williams and his parole hearing. As you might recall, he copped a plea and was given a reduced sentence. He provided information that helped the police solve several unsolved cases." She stood and walked around her desk. Grasping both of Keisha's hands, she continued. "If I may be frank, he was such a hothead that I didn't think he'd be released early. I knew he'd mess up, but the man has been a model inmate. He has gone through counseling, and will be required to report to a parole officer weekly and continue with therapy. They have no reason to hold him." She paused and exhaled. Keisha, has he tried to contact you in anyway? A call, note, anything?" she asked already knowing the answer before Keisha responded. "No ma'am. He has not called, but..." Keisha paused. "I think he has been having me watched." "Have you called the police? Do you have anything on file?" She asked. "I couldn't prove it. Dylan talked to.." Dylan spoke. "I talked to my captain, but no one ever made contact. So no she had no cause to file a report." He explained. "Ms. Jones, he does not need to get out." Keisha was silent, and she knew. Her time was up and now she had to think. If it was just her, she could stay and face him, but her child was another issue. She could not be here when he got out. She had to protect her baby. Dylan saw the decision in her eyes. The light that shone so brightly died, and he knew she'd leave. DA Jones was speaking. "Ms. Johnson, we need you to testify. Right now, he has everyone fooled, even our psychologists have said he seems to be on the level. If you can convince the parole board that he is a threat, there is a small chance, he might make him serve the remainder of the five years." "Ms. Jones, will it make a difference? Please be honest." She asked. "Honestly, no. We've had our doctors interview him and even they agree that he seems to be rehabilitated. He is now on medication, and it has helped him gain a modicum of control." She explained. "So it won't matter if I testify or not, right?" Keisha asked. "Keisha, the parole board needs to see you. We need to put a human face to his animalistic behavior. If you can recount the abuse you suffered, it might sway the parole board to hold him." She exhaled. "I can't promise it will work, but we have to try. OK." Keisha nodded, "OK, I'll speak. Will he be..." She froze. Dylan had to hold her then. "I won't let him near you. Baby, I promise." he whispered. Keisha held on to him tightly, closing her eyes, she relived the nightmare of being in constant fear of Deshaun Williams. "We need to prep for the hearing. Keisha, I will ask you to recap the abuses that you suffered. He will be there. Don't look at him. Look at me. I will prompt you," she exhaled. "Now his attorney will question you as well. Keep your answers short, and simple. Don't let him trick you into admitting anything." "OK, when is it? When is the hearing?" Keisha asked "In six months. We will have additional psychologist reevaluate their findings. And I will do everything I can to keep that monster locked up. Ok, Keisha." Dylan stood as did Keisha when they finished. "Thank both of you for coming, and I'll be in touch" DA Jones replied. "Keisha if you find you don't want to do this, let me now, OKS." Keisha nodded and she and Dylan left her office. They drove in silence. "I have an appointment at one. Will you take me?' she asked. Dylan smiled and answered. "Of course." He held her hand, and moved it to his lips. He gently kissed her knuckles. "Baby, I love..." "Don't, not now. Dylan. I can't..." Keisha stopped him, her heart racing, as the weight of her decision weighed heavily on her. The two stopped for lunch, and he knew she was worried. He knew also that she wanted to be gone when that bastard got out. For the first time since this nightmare began, he understood her reticence. He agreed but if she left she'd take his child. She'd take a child that he might never have a chance to know. Dylan knew he wasn't much to look at, but he could protect her and the baby from Deshaun. That bastard was a coward, and a bully, and he wasn't afraid of him. He could not sit here and let him destroy his family before they had a chance to start. Soon they went to her appointment. As Keisha filled out the paperwork, Dylan thumbed through a magazine. Soon she was called and they went into a private exam room. The doctor examined her and administered the test confirming her pregnancy. Dylan held her and cried, unashamed and happy. I have waited so long for this. I will not let him take this from Me. he thought as he held his lover tightly. Keisha's blood pressure was elevated, and the doctor was a bit concerned. But Dylan knew that it could not be helped as long as she was worried about that sick fuck. For the next few months, life returned to normal. Keisha worked as did Dylan. She moved from her apartment and now lived with him. Her pregnancy advanced, and her baby bump was clearly visible. Dylan loved having Keisha in his home. He held her close every night and they made love at every opportunity. They were at it so often that Carter often told them to take it to their room. Dylan loved the subtle changes in her body. Her areoles were darker, and nipples were super sensitive. He would give her full body massages and kiss every inch of her body. The first night she stayed after moving in completely, Dylan promised her a trip to the heavens. He delivered. He loved her body, and proceeded to savor every inch of it. When he spread her thighs exposing her honeypot, Keisha whimpered, Dylan ordered her to be quiet, Carter was studying. "Cruel" she whispered, watching him, eagerly anticipating his next action. Then he licked her and she was hooked. He pleasured her in ways she only ever imagined. At first, she worried that he would be repulsed as she grew bigger, but he was more excited about the changes than she was. He noticed the slight baby bum. He constantly touched her and talked to the baby. He would be a fantastic father. Their son or daughter was one lucky kid. Keisha had an appointment for a sonogram and she learned the sex. Dylan didn't want to know yet, so she didn't tell him. She was horny all of the time. As soon as they made it home, she would jump Dylan. Truthfully, he didn't mind. He loved it. He was just as horny as she was. She was his woman, and one day soon he planned to make her his wife. For now they were happy, but Keisha knew it could not last. Keisha was working at Dyson's one afternoon when a group of young women came in. As a sales associate, she waited on them, knowing why they were in the store. Their message was clear, Deshaun knew where she was. "Oooh Keisha, a baby? Does Deshaun know? Wait, it's not his." One girl teased. "Girl, he gone be mad when he gets home in two months." She laughed. Her supervisor came and told her to break. She handled the sale. Keisha sat in the break room and decided. It was time. She had no one; nowhere to go, but her baby needed her to try. If it was just her, she would stay, but the baby deserved a life away from fear and mistrust. She called DA Jones and told her she would not testify. Then she penned a letter to Dylan. Placing the letter in an envelope and putting the envelope on her boss's desk, Keisha asked for the rest of the day and was granted it immediately. Over the past months, she'd managed to save a few thousand dollars. As she cleared out her accounts, and then she called the last person she ever thought she'd need to ask for help. "Hello, Talia Green. May I ask whose calling?" Talia answered the call. The number was familiar, but she didn't recognize it. She heard a sob. And then Keisha spoke. "Talia, I need help. I know I don't have the right to ask, but can I come stay with you a few days until I find a place." Keisha whispered. Talia didn't hesitate. "Yes, come on. When can you get here?" she asked. "I'm buying my bus ticket now. I'll be there in a few hours." Keisha answered. "I'll meet you at the bus stop." Talia replied. "Keisha, it's going to be alright." The two women hang up. Talia called her twin, and she and Dalia talked. "Deshaun will be out soon and she's running. Talia, she's leading him to you. Please be careful." Her twin pleaded. Talia called her new fiancé Richard, and told him about Keisha's cryptic call. He told her he'd go with her to pick the other woman up. Talia smiled, I am so blessed to have found a man as wonderful as Richard. Every woman should have a man like that. she mused. Keisha bought her ticket and boarded a bus, carrying all of the money from her account. She left her life in Baird behind. Caressing her baby bump where her daughter was growing, she thought of Dylan. She hoped he could forgive her, but she had to go. She had to protect her daughter. Her supervisor found the note addressed to Dylan on her desk. She didn't open it, but called the precinct immediately. Lana and Dylan were on patrol when his CO called and told him to get over to Dyson's. A chill ran down his spine and he and Lana rushed to the store. As he rushed in, the supervisor led them to her office and gave him the note. He didn't need to read it, for he already knew what it said. She explained about the customers and the remarks about the baby. That was when she told Keisha to break and she handled them quickly. Dylan looked at Lana, and she felt his pain. God please keep them safe. Baby, be safe. I'll find you someday soon. He won't get near you. Dylan promised silently. They could not file a missing person's report for twenty-four hours. He had no idea where she could have gone. Then he thought of the Greene's. Would she have called them, and he did. They had not heard from her. He called Mya, and she did not call her either. Lana drove them back to headquarters and Dylan was told to take some time. Lana called Chase. Chase asked her to let him talk to Dylan. "She is safe. She is with friends. Your child and your woman are fine." Chase assured his friend. "Chase, if you see anything at all, tell me." Dylan whispered knowing his friend had the gift of sight. "Do you know where she went?" he asked. "No, but she needs to be away from the serpent." He replied. Dylan could no longer keep his tears at bay. They flowed freely down his cheeks. He needed to be searching for her. She just vanished. She claimed to love him. She said she trusted him to protect her, but in the end she ran away. Where was she? She took his child. How could she just walk away with his baby like that? His coworkers went on alert, checking for anything that they could find, her usual hangouts. Nothing turned up. He and Lana drove around. Even Carter took to the streets searching. "Officer Nash, her accounts have been emptied; she took the money and the clothes she had on. She canceled all of her cards. She is invisible right now and doesn't want to be found. In a few hours we'll put out an APB and it will become statewide search." His supervising officer informed him. "Thank you, sir. If she can contact me she will." He added, praying his words were true. Lana stayed with her partner, and when the shift ended followed him home. Carter, who had been called earlier, had returned home from searching. "Dylan, she's pregnant and has high blood pressure. Did he have someone take her? Did that Deshaun guy do this?" Carter demanded. "No, she left on her own free will. Carter. She didn't think I was man enough to keep her and the baby safe, so she ran. She took my baby and left." Dylan simply sat, distraught and hurt. Lana was silent and watched the brothers comfort each other. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 03 Keisha was a hard worker. Even at almost nine months pregnant, she never missed a day, nor did she complain. Talia went into labor and Rick was a wreck. Keisha was so excited for her new friend, and the next day after her twins were born, she went straight to the hospital to see them. The two little boys were so handsome, and Talia was smitten. Rick was a permanent fixture at her side. She thought of Dylan. He wouldn't be here when their daughter was born. She wished... She could not risk being found by Deshaun. Since moving, Keisha had stopped using her first name and went by her middle name. Her home, phone, and even at her job, had been changed. She was known as Arianna Jackson, Jackson being her grandmother's maiden name. The only ones that still called her Keisha was Talia and Rick, and they now referred to her as Arianna. She moved to the small home near Rick's parents and they checked on her constantly. Often they would get annoyed because she tried not to call them when she needed things. Knowing her baby was soon due, they were on high alert. Talia and she talked and agreed that when her daughter was born, she'd stay with them at least a few weeks before going home. Brenda agreed, because it would be easier to keep check on both women. Keisha worked right up until her due date. Rick was scared to death, and even Mr. Preson was concerned. One day at work her labor started and scared her. She hid in a closet. Realizing she had not been seen in a while, Janet, one of the maids searched for her and found her hiding and crying. She was rushed to the hospital where she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Her baby looked just like Dylan. She was his exact image. Richard and Talia came by and too pictures of Keisha cradling her daughter. As soon as they got them developed, she sent them to Dylan. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 03 He'd spent a year pretending that he was a good guy, and many believed it. He was a good guy. When Keisha was being beat by Frank, he took her in, took care of her. The fucker sold her to him, and he accepted her as payments excusing all of Frank's debt. She was his, his beautiful flower, that he controlled. She kept fucking up and he had to keep her in line. She was the reason he spent two years locked up. She took up with a fat white cop, just to embarrass him. He heard the cop knocked her up, and she took off. White boy should be glad. It could be anybody's kid. He had money now. He'd find her, and when he did it could end only one way. Keisha Johnson was as good as dead. His phone rang. It was the guy that he hired to find her reporting in. No luck, but they had some leads. Deshaun took an old photo from his wallet. Caveman took it over 20 years ago. He looked at her image, Beautiful Deshaun missed those days when it was just the four of them: Keisha, Davicia, Caveman and him. Sadly, those days were gone, and it was her fault. She ruined him, had him locked up like an animal. All she had to do was have dinner ready, and she didn't even do that. It was her fault. She loved making him snap. He felt his anger build. Not now, son. Not now he thought as he regulated his breathing and forced himself to calm down. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 04 Hello readers, Thank you all for reading Dark Chocolate: A Mature Story. This is continuation of that story. The character Keisha was introduced briefly in chapter two of that tale, and for some reason I feel compelled to tell her story. I must state that these are fictional characters and exist solely in my imagination. This is an interracial love story. In the last chapter Dylan had enough, but in this chapter, chapter 4, the rubber meets the road. This is the final chapter in this series. I hope you truly enjoy, and I am looking forward to reading what you think. Allow me to thank both Willieone and Overstar for beta reading and editing this chapter. Any errors that are found are my fault and not these two brave souls. Please read it and enjoy. Also I ask that you do not replicate this story without asking. Writing is hard work and I really take it seriously. IR2R Chase could not sleep. The end was near, and he was frustrated. He had to do something, so the next morning after Lana spoke to Carter, he called Dylan. Dylan heeded Carter's advice, and parked his car at the airport. He went into a restroom to change his clothes. Dressed as a businessman, he rented a car from Avis, and headed to Lafayette. He knew someone was watching him, and he prayed his ploy worked. He kept checking his rear view until he successfully crossed state line. His phone rang and it was Chase. Dylan answered, "Hey, you know?" he asked. There was no point in pretending. "Yes, and Dylan, he will strike. The vision ends in blood, so please be careful." Chase implored. Shaken, Dylan doubted the wisdom of going to her and the baby and then Chase spoke. "He will learn where she is, and you need to be there to protect both of them. "Chase closed his eyes and saw a majestic bird hovering. You won't be alone, help comes. " Dylan took a deep breath; He had to get to her now more than ever. As he arrived in Lafayette, he contacted to local precinct. He quickly asked to speak to the commander. Dylan spoke with Chief Harvey Lamden, and explained the situation explicitly. The commander called the Chief in Baird who verified Dylan's identity and confirmed his story. Lamden assured Dylan that they would be on high alert. Relieved and a bit nervous, Dylan left the precinct and headed to the address Keisha gave him. Soon he was on the street. His heart pounded. He had not seen her in two years, and in a few minutes he would see her face to face. He'd see his baby girl for the first time. He was actually nervous. Within seconds, he was in front of her house. Slowly, he drove into her driveway, and got out. As soon as he walked onto the threshold, the door flew open and Keisha leaped into his arms. She cried so hard and held him so tightly that he had to carry her inside. "Dylan, I'm so sorry. So sorry," she sobbed. "Never meant to hurt you, but I was so scared..." she babbled. He held her, as tears of joy covered his cheeks, and whispered, "Baby, it's alright. I'm here now." Keisha calmed down, when another cry interrupted their solitude. Someone had woken up and she wanted attention. "Wait right here," Keisha whispered. She rushed down a short hall, into a bedroom. Dylan took a moment to look around at the home Keisha had made for the two of them. He noticed that she had pictures of him, Carter, Lana, and Chase throughout the room. As he was looking, Keisha spoke. "Dylan, this is our daughter." Dylan turned and the tears he thought he had gotten under control started once more. There they were the two most important women in his life. Keisha walked in holding his daughter who was a light toffee color with his sandy brown hair and gray eyes. She held on tightly to her mother and stared at him, and then she smiled. Dylan was sure of few things in his life, but one smile from that beautiful baby, he fell head over heels. He was not walking away. Keisha might try and disagree, but as of this moment, Dylan was home. "Can I....?" he asked. "Yes, 'Licia, this is Daddy. Go to Daddy." Alicia hesitated, and Dylan was ok. Keisha tried to encourage her, but he stopped her. "It's Ok, she doesn't know me. It's alright. Hey Alicia, I'm Dylan" he whispered. The baby smiled, and then reluctantly reached for him. Dylan held his daughter for the first time; his heart pounded, and he was overjoyed. Alicia started squirming, and Keisha asked for her to clean her up and dress her for the day. Dylan offered to help, and went with her. Keisha gave the baby a bath and Dylan at first was hesitant about joining them in the bathroom, but Keisha called him in there. After her bath, the two adults dressed the rambunctious two year old. Soon it was a little after seven, and Keisha called her job to take off for the day. Her supervisor gladly gave her the time. She never missed unless the baby was ill. Dylan held his daughter, even fed her breakfast. Alicia wanted to watch her favorite cartoon, and Dylan lay on the floor beside her as Keisha cleaned. While she worked they talked. She told him that the birth was easy. The baby had the sweetest temperament. She decided to just tell everything, so she explained that Talia and Rick helped her. "They didn't say.... They came last year and didn't..." Dylan muttered. "I asked them to not say anything. Don't be mad at them. Talia begged me to call, but I was afraid... "She took a deep breath. "The way I left was wrong. I should have called you, but I knew you wouldn't let me leave. I had to go. I'm sorry Dylan. I'm sorry I did that to you." "You were afraid. I understand that, but did you think I couldn't protect you. Did you think because I'm white that I'm weak?" He asked. "No baby, never. I don't want him to hurt you or anyone else. I ran because he is crazy and he will kill me. If it was just me, I would have stayed, but I had to protect her. She is everything I'm not." Keisha explained gazing at their daughter. At that point the doorbell rang, interrupting their solitude. Keisha jumped. Even now, years later, she was still so afraid. "Who is it?" she called out. "It's me and Brenda." Rick's father answered, and Keisha moved quickly letting them in. Cedric entered and saw the man holding Alicia. It was obvious who he was, the baby was his image. "Welcome Dylan. I saw your car and was worried. Brenda greeted him as well and Alicia abandoned her daddy to get kisses from the Harris's. Brenda laughed and told the baby that she was beautiful and precious. The Harris's didn't stay long, but made the young couple promise to join them for dinner. Talia and Rick would be home and they could all catch up. They agreed, and Keisha smiled. "I need to call Talia." She mused. "No, we need time. We can call and talk with others later. Right now, I want you and Alicia to myself." Dylan explained. Keisha smiled. "Of course, I'm so glad you're here. So glad to just be with you again," and he embraced her as well as his little girl. "You know Carter wants more pictures, so we'll have to send a lot." He teased. "Carter! How is he? Lana? Chase? Everyone?" she asked laughing. "Momma, want Zannie and Lannie" Alicia whined. "Baby, they'll be home soon ok. Let's spend time with Daddy, OK." Keisha whispered to the baby. Alicia smiled, looked at Dylan and said "Daddy, my daddy." "Yes, your daddy." Dylan replied as he scooped up his baby girl. For the first time in two years they were content. He reached over and pulled Keisha into his tight embrace, and whispered. "I'm never letting you go. I'm home." Keisha trembled. Keisha simply held on, inhaling his scent, reveling in his presence. She was not blind to the fact that a mad man was still after her, or that she was really on borrowed time, but for now her family was whole. Soon Alicia wanted down, and Dylan let her go. She went to her room and found the toys she liked playing with. Dylan watched her, but he also needed to talk to Keisha. "Keisha, we really need to talk but now isn't the right time. Will Alicia take nap soon?" he asked. "Yes, and we can talk then. I'll answer all of your questions. Look, Dylan, you have the right to be mad, but promise me you will at least listen." She pleaded. Dylan nodded, and changed the topic. "Well, Carter is now a medical resident at Mt. Vienna Medical Center. Chase has moved to Baird and he and Lana just bought their house. I think they may marry soon; I know Chase wants kids. We've kept in touch with the Greens and Mya. As a matter of fact, I think Carter has a thing for Mya. You know she went to nursing school and is now an LPN. Carter wants to ask her out, but is too chicken." He laughed. "Wow, Mya's a nurse, and Carter is almost a doctor." Keisha was floored. She hoped it worked out because she only wanted the best for her friends. "You know Chase sees things, right?" he stated solemnly. "No, really," Keisha was curious now, because Chase was always an enigma to her. "He told me that both you and the baby were with friends and safe." Dylan exhaled. Chase has also told him Deshaun would strike, he had to keep her and Alicia safe. Dylan was silent a little too long. "He warned you about Deshaun, didn't he?" she asked. "I will protect you. I've already notified to the local precinct and they are aware of him. I won't lie to you, baby. He has a lot of people fooled. He also has people looking for you. That's why we need to be extra careful. We will stay indoors as much as possible. Whatever you did to vanish, keep your cover. I mean, how? How did you pull this off? I have searched for two years, and nothing. But you were right here, the whole time." Dylan exclaimed. "The day I left, I knew Keisha Johnson had to disappear. I changed my name, stayed out of sight, and only interacted with a few people. I was worried about being traced through my social security number, but both my jobs had people that helped. They helped me hide. The first time I filed taxes, I knew he'd find me, but my boss, Mr. Preson, had his accountant file for me and somehow he kept me under the radar." Keisha exhaled and looked Dylan straight in the eyes. "Here I am Arianna Jackson, and no one cares about my past. Alicia's last name is also Jackson, but we can always change that. She should have her right name. I have cost you two years of your time with our daughter because of my fear, and for that I'm sorry. We both know you can never get that time back, but Deshaun is insane and I know he blames me. Alicia is the only thing that I have ever done right, and she deserved a chance to live. It hurt when I walked away, but to keep my daughter safe and to save you and Carter, I'm glad I did." She caressed his cheek, "I'd do the same again in a heartbeat." With each word, Dylan's pride escalated. His woman was smart, brave, and so very beautiful. She was right, Deshaun needed to be dealt with, and he recalled Chase's words. There was only one way to destroy a serpent. Dylan was no longer under the delusion that all three of them would survive this. He knew someone had to die. He'd make damn sure it was not one of them. "Keisha, I mean Arianna, I'm here now, and I'm not leaving. I gave you my oath that I'd keep you safe and now I swear once more that vow. I will die before he touches you, either of you." He swore as he held her close. Keisha stood and took a few steps away. "I won't lie and say I am not afraid, because I am. But Dylan I am also tired of hiding. He might come, but this time I'm ready." She declared. The look of determination on her face stopped Dylan in his tracks. "For two years I have hid from him, too afraid of even my own shadow. I gave up my shot at true happiness because of fear," Keisha exhaled, "Not anymore Dylan. I want you to keep Alicia safe. If he finds me, you protect her." "No, I will protect both of you. He will not get near you. He won't come between us. I pro-" Keisha placed her fingers on his lips. "He already has. He was why I ran and ripped us apart. But baby, I'm not running anymore. It's time to end this. She deserves better. She deserves her Daddy. Do you think I've been sitting by idly waiting for him to find me Dylan. No, I've trained, learned judo, and I carry license for a concealed weapon. He might take me out, but I will try my damndest to take him with me." She then kissed the man that was her heart. "I'm done hiding. We end this." She declared. "Mommy, Daddy, wanna play" Alicia called running into the room where her parents waited. Dylan scooped her up once more, and joined her for her tea party. Soon the door bell rang and Keisha answered. "Licia, Licia" Zander and Landon squealed for their friend. Hearing her friends Alicia quickly abandoned her Dad and rushed to see them. Dylan followed much to the surprise of Talia and Rick. "Zannie, Lannie" Alicia squealed and the three babies greeted each other. The adults looked on and laughed. Richard finally broke the silence and addressed the elephant in the room. "So, Keisha called?" "Yes, though, I wish you would have hinted, but I understand why you didn't." Dylan replied. "Despite everything, you kept her and Alicia safe. I owe both of you." "I'm just glad you two are together." Talia chimed in. Loud laugher came from Alicia's room and the adults giggled. "Let me peek in on them." She walked to Alicia's room, and Keisha joined her. Rick and Dylan talked. "I'm not leaving them. I'm staying." Dylan declared. Rick nodded. "What about your job, your brother?" he asked. "Carter can keep the house, and I'll always be there if he needs me. As for my job, I can transfer, or even do something else." Dylan replied. "Besides Carter knows my heart is here. I'll call him later." "Well, I'm just happy you're here. They need you. Keisha is a strong woman, and she has done well. But being away from you hurt her deeply. Besides, I need another guy around to help when they gang up on me. My Dad is whipped." Rick teased. Dylan laughed, "Man, all of us are whipped and you know it." Meanwhile, in Alicia's room, Talia and Keisha chuckled at their progeny. "Hey you three, what are you doing?" Talia asked as she walked in and noticed the dog pile of toddlers, her son Landon being on the bottom. Lifting Alicia, the girl squealed with glee as her two playmates clamored to the adults for attention as well, assuring them that the babies were well. Talia wanted to speak with Keisha privately. "Hey, are you alright?" she asked because she knew how hard these last two years were on this girl. "For the first time, yes, I'm fine. He's here and I never thought this would ever happen. Alicia adores him, and he is smitten." Keisha explained. "I asked him to look out for her. You know." Talia started to speak, Keisha stopped her, "No, it's going to come to a head. I can feel it. It ends Talia, because I can't keep being this way, afraid and worried all of the time." Keisha took a deep breath, "When he comes, and he will; I'll be waiting." Talia felt a cold chill. Keisha's tone was so deadly, cold that she knew her friend had reached her breaking point. "Look, Keisha, don't-" Talia started saying. "No, I won't find him. He will find me. Just make sure Alicia is safe for me OK." Keisha sighed, "The guys are going to worry; let's join them." Keisha added happily as if she didn't just tell her friend she was ready to die. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 04 She was so hot, so wet. He could not resist her warmth if he tried and within seconds he had repositioned their bodies so she straddled above him. "Lana, I'm yours. You can do whatever you want to me." He whispered. "My heart, my mind, my body are yours Lana. No other woman will ever do for me the things that you do." Not needing to hear more, Lana slowly sank her burning pussy into this stiff member. Both groaned, and she rode him. Within minutes, she came and the feel of her body contracting on him pushed Chase over the edge. With loud shout, he released is seed deep inside his woman's fertile womb. Then for a moment he held her. And he knew that this is where he wanted to be for eternity. "She wants you." Lana whispered. "It does not matter. I'm yours." Chase replied. And soon they climbed from the tub and lay together in bed. Before long the two lovers were asleep, as Chase dreamed of holding his son. The next morning Chase dropped Lana off again and met her partner. Kate saw the way the two connected and knew that this was a man in love. She could respect that. Besides, she was here to help stop Williams. The two women spoke and reported in. As they were leaving out on patrol, Lana noticed that one of the clerks watched her a little too carefully. This made her uneasy, but she shook it off and went on patrol. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 04 Rick wanted to speak to Dylan, and Dylan told him he'd protect them with his life. He then hang up the phone and looked around. "Hey partner, what is it?" Lana asked. After two years, she could read him like a book. "Watch out for them for me. I'll be back. Tell Keisha I... I'll be back as soon as I can." He turned to leave. Chase followed. "You are not going there alone. I am with you." Dylan wanted to argue, but knew it would be pointless. "Chase, if he's there. Let me deal with him. I don't want you to get hurt." However, Deshaun was thinking. Fatboy, knows I'm in here. He won't let the bitch come here. I have to do something else. He then got up. Fuck this bitch! He then destroyed every picture in the room. He smashed furniture. Found his way to the baby's room, he destroyed everything he could find. She fucks around on me and has another man's kid. The bitch is dead. he fumed. After the damage was done, he felt calmer. Deshaun opened the backdoor and walked. Not caring that he set off the alarm system. The security company called Keisha and the police. Keisha called Dylan and told him the alarm had gone off again. He and Chase rushed to the house, just as the police arrived. They found the backdoor open and the damage done on the inside. This made Dylan even more anxious. If Deshaun left, then he could be anywhere. He had to decide. He didn't want to leave them on their own, but he needed to try and find that bastard. At the hotel, Kate wanted to talk with Nash and Davis. As she arrived, she saw Nash and Davis's fiancé leaving. She started to follow when her team alerted her that Williams was moving once again. She suspected that Williams had crossed the line and was now waiting to kill this woman. Sociopaths had no fear, no respect for authority of any kind. He would kill anyone who stood in the way of his goal. She believed that killing Keisha was his goal. He wanted her to pay for whatever crimes he found her guilty of in his warped mind. She alerted her team and they set up parameters to figure out where he might be hiding. Meanwhile, at Keisha's small home, the police had left leaving Chase and Dylan alone. They went inside and looked around. Dylan noticed the damage he had done, and then he saw Alicia's room. Her bed smashed, clothes askew, and toys ripped to pieces. Deshaun left nothing untouched. Chase waited silently, for he knew Dylan needed to vent. "FUCK!" Dylan screamed. "I hate this fucker. He needs to die. I'm going to kill him." Punching the wall furiously, he vented, his pent up rage on clear display for his friend. Chase let him vent, and he continued his physical assault on the stiff surface. So vicious were his punches, that the section of the wall caved, leaving a vacant hole. Soon Dylan tired out and sank to the floor holding his head. Feeling a failure, he was distraught. "How can I protect them when I have no idea where that bastard is hiding?" Chase didn't respond, but let him vent. As his outburst ended, Chase then spoke. "He will be stopped. We will find him." He assured his friend. "How? We have no idea where he is. He wants to hurt her Chase, kill her even. How do I keep them safe when I have no idea where he is?" Dylan asked frustrated. Running his hand across his face, Dylan had to get control of his anger. As an officer, he knew how emotions could make or break a case. This wasn't a case; this was the two most important people in his life. He had to protect them. Chase knew his friend was on edge and he had to help him focus. He was just a worried as him because he cared deeply for Keisha and the baby as well. He had to help Dylan center and gain perspective. "He is not stupid. He will take his time and we can make sure Keisha and Alicia are someplace safe. Listen to me Dylan. You have everyone behind you on this, and we will stop him. You have to believe that. Let's go back. We need to reassure our women." Chase suggested. Chase hoped his assessment was right, but the visions said otherwise. The serpent was agitated and wanted blood. Dylan had to keep his wits about him to defeat the beast. He could not let his anger consume him. The two returned to the hotel where Lana, and Keisha were waiting. Mrs. Harris called but did not come by.. They were surprised that Kate was not there. However, Dylan could not worry about a rogue detective, because he had a villain to catch. As soon as he entered, Keisha flew to him. She was relieved that he came back unharmed. She was tired now, tired of being afraid. "Dylan, I know Deshaun. He will find me. I want you to take Alicia and keep her safe. He wants me. There is no reason for anyone else-" Dylan stopped her. "This ends now, Baby. We deserve a life together as a family. I will not stand here and allow this travesty to continue. I will find him, and put a stop to this. We will not be apart any longer, and I refuse to live in fear." He explained. Keisha nodded, and then Alicia started to fret. Lana stood, "Let me take her." She offered. She then picked the baby up and carried her into the other room. Alicia held on tightly, yet she continued to fret. Lana held her tightly, and sang a soft lullaby to her. Soon the baby quieted and was relaxed. Lana held her close, and promised her that she'd keep her safe. Chase joined her and asked to hold the babe. Alicia went to him immediately. He held her close and inhaled her scent. She amazed him, and he swore on all that he held dear that that monster would not harm this child or her mother. Alicia began to squirm, and he laughed. "I guess I was holding on to tight, huh?" he asked jokingly. Dylan and Keisha sat for a while, not speaking. There was not much to say. "I can't stop my life because of him Dylan. I have to work, and eventually go home. He will come after me regardless." Keisha explained. "Tomorrow, I'm reporting to work, and I want to take Alicia to daycare. That way you can search without worrying about me." She explained. Dylan didn't like the thought of her going to work, but she had a valid point. "Keisha ..." But he could not speak. "Dylan, listen. I love you and I refuse to keep letting him dictate what we do. You may not agree, but now I'm taking a stand. I asked you to protect Alicia, so keep your word to me." Keisha stated. Dylan listened and then he spoke. "He took you and her from me. Because of him, you ran away and for two years I have been denied my family. You didn't trust me Keisha. You don't think I can keep you safe. That hurts. But, it's Ok. I can understand your fear. But what I cannot do is sit here and let him shit on my family once again. Don't ask that of me. This is not about him, but us. As a man, I must defend my family. You and Alicia are my family." Keisha listened, and understood. She nodded and then had one more thing to say. "We need to end this Dylan, but I don't want anyone else to get hurt. I won't change my routines, because then he wins. We will stop him this time." She vowed. Dylan agreed, and held her for a while. Soon they missed their daughter and found her in the room with their friends. Chase laughed at how overprotective Dylan was even after only a few days. He didn't blame him. Because he knew that if it were him, he'd be the same way. Lana and Chase shared a look, and relinquished their young charge to her mother. Then realizing no one had eaten, Lana volunteered to make a food run. Keisha wanted to go but it wasn't safe. Lana left with Chase, and Dylan and Keisha simply held on to each other. "I will never leave your side Keisha. No matter what happens. I want you to know that I'm here and I'm not leaving." Dylan swore, and Keisha held on to him tightly. "Mommy, Daddy, I want juice." Alicia demanded. "Ok, sweetheart. Aunt Lana went to get some juice with Uncle Chase, Ok." Keisha assured her, kissing her and holding her close. Alicia laughed and turned to Dylan, "Daddy, want Daddy." She shrieked. Keisha laughed as Dylan quickly complied too his daughter's wishes. When a Woman's Fed Up Ch. 04 "It's alright, Keisha. We are here for you, never doubt that. OK sweetheart," Desiree hugged her, soon everyone joined in. For a moment it was just silence, then ever the jokester, Mya made a smart remark and the mood lightened. They laughed and finished cleaning.
