She knew that she could scarcely afford to miss any classes with the way things stood, but she couldn’t go there with her face looking as if it had been hit by a bus either. For those two days and the weekend, she stayed in her room, studying, only coming out to use the bathroom and to get something to eat. It frustrated her like hell that she couldn’t get Jake Rivers out of her mind. He was easily the most attractive man she had ever seen, to be honest. She had never met anyone as remotely handsome as he was, and he was such a nice guy. He was probably married with kids, and his wife probably resembled Barbie. She remembered what it was like when he touched her. She tingled a little. It made her rub virgin pussy to relieve the ache she felt there. Maybe it was best that she never saw him again. She wouldn’t know exactly how to handle a man of his caliber. She would just remember him pleasantly as the nice guy who rescued her. Her hero. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Narissa went back to work the following Monday. The swelling in her face had gone down and the bruising was not as visible with the help of a little make-up and her dark complexion. She pretty much fell back into her routine, after a few well wishes. It was as if she hadn’t been out at all and everything was okay. At class that night she could barely follow the instructor as she missed two important classes. She stayed later that night to talk to her instructor. It was actually close to ten by the time she left the building. It was pitch black. She was scared. She looked over her shoulder with every step as she made her way to the bus stop. She was halfway there when a hand fell on her shoulder. Not again! She let out a blood-curdling scream and fainted with fright. Jake hadn’t meant to scare her. He had been quite serious when he told her that he would take her home every night. He hated the thought of her catching the bus home late at night. He now held her in his arms and carried her to his car. Narissa woke up as Jake was sliding into the driver’s side. “Mr. Daniels!” she exclaimed in surprise, not knowing how she got there. “That was me behind you Narissa. I’m sorry that I scared you. I did tell you that I didn’t want you walking to the bus by yourself at night.” “But you didn’t have to do this.” “Let’s just say that if you want me to get a good night’s sleep, you’ll let me take you home.” “What will your family say?” She asked curiously. “Are you asking if I’m married?” He lifted a perfectly sculpted brow. Narissa’s face grew hot. She didn’t answer and Jake chuckled softly to himself. “I’m not married, no kids, drug free. It’s just me and my dog Rusty and he sleeps most of the time anyway.” He explained. “Oh.” She replied lamely. “By the way, if you call me Mr. Daniels again, I will have to turn you over my knee. I may be older than you but I’m only thirty-nine, surely that’s not too old?” he smiled at her and her heart did a back flip. “No, it’s not.” She agreed. She would have agreed to anything if smiled at her like that again. “Thanks again for this ride. I was kind of scared.” She admitted. “Well you have every reason to be. Now will you let me have my way and pick you up from school?” he inquired. She hesitated for a moment. What was he getting out of this? “I get the benefit of seeing a lovely young lady safely to her home.” He said as if he reading her mind. That was the second time he did that. He seemed so well in tune with her emotions. “Okay,” she finally agreed. “But I’ll pay for gas.” “If you offer me money again, I will be highly insulted, but I know of a way you can pay me back” “How?” “You can have dinner with me this Friday. I’ll pick you up after your class and then I’ll take you somewhere.” “You want to take me out to dinner?” She asked incredulously. “Don’t want to be seen with an old fart like me?” he teased showing her that smile of his and she could feel herself caving. “No! I mean you’re not old. Is this going to be….I mean is this a date?” She asked nervously. “Not necessarily. It could be two friends having a meal together. We’ll play it by ear.” She looked away from him. Letting him transport her from school was one thing but having a mean with him was another story, besides he was way out of her league. “Have you ever been out with a ….” She trailed off not able to finish. “Black girl? Do you think I would be here right now if something that petty bothered me? No my dear, I am not like that. I’ve had the pleasure of escorting women of various ethnicities. I like beautiful women, period.” “But I’m not----” she began to protest before he cut her off. “Did anyone ever tell you that you had low self esteem?” He asked. “No.” she muttered back, knowing that he was probably right if that was what he was implying. Raised by her maternal grandmother who only ever showed love to Narissa’s older sister Brianna, she always knew she never measured up in her grandmother’s eyes. Narissa’s sin was killing her mother in childbirth. When their grandmother died, leaving everything to her eldest grandchild, Brianna was quick to let Narissa know that she was only welcome long enough for her to find other accommodations. Growing up with no emotional support, Narissa supposed that her self-esteem had taken a bit of a beating. What was wrong with a meal between friends? “I would like to go to dinner with you.” She smiled shyly, her cheeks dimpling prettily. “Good. Wear something nice. There’s a new five star restaurant in town that I would like to try out.” “Okay.” She agreed. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * For the remainder of the week, Jake picked Narissa up from school. It felt good to finally have a real friend. No one had ever been this nice to her before. She still couldn’t believe that this good-looking rich man wanted to have anything to do with her. This was too good to be true a little voice kept telling her, but she continued to ignore it. With each day she saw him, she grew more comfortable in his presence. He was a good listener, and she felt herself opening up to him more. Jake asked her a lot of questions and after the first couple of nights, she didn’t really notice how he seemed to interrogate her. She found herself confiding in him about her unhappy childhood, how her mother had died when she was being born and how her father had abandoned her and her sister when she was five. She even told him about her grandmother’s often, unequal treatment of her and Brianna. Brianna taking a cue from their grandmother, wasn’t very kind to her younger sister. She was the beauty of the family and did not like to share the spotlight. Jake would listen to her silently nodding his head in compassion every now and then. He would look at her with those intense green eyes of his and Narissa would feel like an awkward school girl, but she was sure Jake didn’t intentionally try to make her feel uncomfortable. Or did he? That pesky voice in the back of her head persisted. That Friday came and all day Narissa’s stomach was in a knot. She could barely concentrate on anything with thoughts of Jake running through her mind. Class that night got out a earlier as it usually did on Fridays. Narissa waited on the curb nervously for Jake to come. She was wearing a new outfit, which she had bought on her lunch break that day. It was more than she had ever spent on anything she had ever worn. It wasn’t Fifth Avenue caliber, but she still thought she looked nice in it. She wore a gold silk halter dress, with a black bolero jacket over it. She even wore make-up, which she rarely did. Her relaxed hair was pulled severely back in a bun, showing her high cheekbones to their advantage. Narissa knew she was a little overdressed for class but she didn’t care about the appreciative stares thrown at her by the males in the class. Her mind was on Jake. He was probably use to supermodel types, which she definitely wasn’t, but she knew she looked her best tonight. Jake arrived earlier than she thought he would. Instead of the silver Mercedes, he pulled up in a black Jaguar convertible. He got out of the car to open the door for her. ‘You look beautiful tonight Narissa. I almost don’t want to take you out, so I can keep you to myself.” He was practically devouring her with his eyes. No man had ever looked at her like that before and Narissa felt a warm wave wash over her body. Not knowing how to reply she muttered a hasty thank you and got into the car. He smiled at her shyness and got into the car. “You really are adorable.” He said pulling off. “What happened to your other car?” She asked after brief pause. “It’s at home. It’s a little warm tonight and I thought you might enjoy a ride with the top down, besides, I thought I’d take you out in style.” He winked. He then asked her about her day. They chatted easily, but Narissa couldn’t help but be a little pleased that Jake found her attractive. The more time she spent with him, the more under his spell she fell. Dinner went by in a haze; she couldn’t believe she was sitting at the fanciest restaurant she had ever been in, sipping expensive champagne, eating Escargot, and lobster tail with filet mignon. Jake was a very attentive partner. His eyes never wavered from her face, although the room was cluttered with beautiful women draped in fine jewelry and expensive clothes. After the crème brule, Narissa finally got the courage to ask what had been on her mind all night. “Jake this seems like a real date to me. Is it?” “Do you want it to be?” He asked putting the ball firmly in her court. “I don’t know.” She looked down at her lap. Why was it so hard to put into words what she really wanted. “Say the words.” He commanded softly. “I would like it to be a date.” She said, barely above a whisper. She was not able to meet the probing gaze of his green eyes. When she finally did look up she thought she caught the most peculiar gleam in his eye. Triumph? Perhaps she was imagining things. “Then it’s a date.” He countered. This was her first date. Her grandmother never allowed her to date, and she always felt so awkward around the opposite sex. “Did I tell you that you looked beautiful tonight?” He smiled indulgently at her. “Really?” “I have no reason to lie to you. You’re a very attractive woman, and you know what?” “What?” She asked breathlessly, mesmerized by his gaze. “I’m going to kiss you tonight.” He said confidently. Narissa felt her face growing hot again. This man had that affect on her. “That’s awful presumptuous of you.” She said boldly. “Yes, maybe it is, but I usually get what I want. Will you deny me?” He asked no longer smiling. He was no longer joking, and the seriousness of his tone almost frightened her, but she finally answered. “No.” He visibly relaxed and smiled again. Her help skipped a beat when she saw that smile. She could barely finish her coffee wondering what his kiss would be like. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * When Jake dropped Narissa off, he walked her to the door of her apartment building. As they stood in the doorway facing each other, Narissa shifted on her feet from side to side, unable to look Jake in the eyes. He grasped her chin suddenly in his big hand and forced her to look at him. She stiffened instinctively. “Relax.” He commanded softly before pulling her body close to his. He lowered his mouth onto hers. The kiss began with his lips simply brushing hers, and then she felt his tongue gliding along the curve of her bottom lip. He flicked his tongue over her lips. His simple kiss was making her hot. Her pussy began to tingle and she began to squirm. He tightened his grip on her and slipped his tongue between her slightly parted lips. Jake’s tongue explored the sweetness of Narissa’s mouth. He wanted to taste more of her. He ran a hand over her scalp and grabbed at her bun yanking her head back roughly. Her gasp of surprise granted him wider access to warm cavern of her mouth. He deepened the kiss as if to taste her very soul. Jake’s other hand moved from Narissa’s waist to a waiting breast. He awakened the nipple under his hand to a hardened peak. Moisture formed between Narissa’s legs and Jake’s hand moved down to rub her crotch. God she’s hot, he thought. If he didn’t pull away now, there would be no way he would be able to stop himself. When Jake lifted his mouth, Narissa whimpered at his withdrawal. She had never been kissed like that before. What had just happened? She asked herself. Good girls weren’t suppose to react like that to a kiss. “Let’s call it a night shall we?” He said stiffly. Narissa could only nod. She had never felt like this before. She couldn’t trust herself to speak. As she watched him drive away a few minutes later, she knew that she would never be the same again after that kiss. Mine Ch. 02 Pt. 2: Wilhelm This story is dedicated to wilhelm jacob. :) Thanks for reading. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nearly a year has passed since I had first laid eyes on Tavon and made him into what he was today. His beautiful body lay softly pressed into mine as we slept, his arm encircling my waist. He was still and silent, but I could see the horrible dreams that haunted him. "Serves him right," I thought. After all he had done, nightmares were sure to be part of his sleep for some time. *************************** Tavon was horrific. Whereas I was human struggling to overcome my monstrous self, Tavon embraced the monster within, and abandoned his human half. Yes, I killed, I even enjoyed killing. However, I had never killed beyond what was necessary. My human heart still struggled to beat. Tavon and I had left Chicago soon after I had made him. There were too many prying eyes. We had wandered over the state border to Wisconsin and settled in Milwaukee for several months. Soon the word was out: There was a serial killer in town. We were talked about, likened to Jeffery Dahmer even. The police and the media were on high alert. I was on high alert. Tavon was not. One evening, he let his prey escape him. Not because he did not have the strength to match, but for "fun". Or so he said. The next evening the man was all over the news stations, swearing up and down that the serial killers were not human. That they were vampires. He described Tavon perfectly; soft brown eyes that shone with evil intent, light brown skin that was colder than ice. His description of me was not as good. The media poked fun at him and he was teased mercilessly on several local daytime talk shows that I happened to tape. However, the police took his descriptions to heart; our faces were plastered on the news, warning everyone to be on the lookout for us. I was more than upset. I flew into a rage at Tavon, nearly killing him. But then I remembered that I loved him, his pleading eyes as I drank from him only reinforcing the fact. I shuddered at how close I had come to drowning my beloved in the abyss of death. It was my fault after all; he had not learned properly I felt. And so we left America, rapidly making the journey south of the border to Mexico. Here, I thought, we would not be noticed nor hunted. Crime ran rampant all around us, and we were just two more killers added to the list of millions. I resolved to teach Tavon that while killing was something that was natural to our kind, it must be done as to not reveal ourselves, lest we become the hunted. We stayed in a village just outside of Mexico City. It was small and peaceful. Crime was not as bad here, and we even made "friends" with some of the villagers. After returning from a night of feasting in Mexico City, we sometimes had guests in our home until late in the night. It was the best time of my unlife. At last, I did not feel alone, and I began to feel as if this was where we could finally settle down and make our home. But it was not to be, and I did not see it until it was too late. Tavon became obsessed with the daughter of a local merchant. She was a beauty, but I warned him repeatedly not to bother her. I did not want our secret to leak out in this place of overwhelming peace and beauty. But Tavon was unwaverable in his plans. He revealed himself to her, asking her to be with him and I for all eternity. She reacted as any mortal would: screaming loudly and running away from him, but not before spitting in his face and telling him, "I could never love a monster." And with those words, his fury was unleashed. Before I could stop him, half the villagers in the small town were cold, their souls fluttering away. He killed quickly and ferociously, not even stopping to drink the lifeblood of his victims. Soon, the town was silent. The ground was littered with the bodies of the dead, their blood soaked into the dirt. Our "friends" lives had been snuffed out as easily as a candle. I was furious. "You have endangered us, and all our kind," I seethed as he sat atop the roof of the highest building, admiring his handiwork. Only then was he frightened, only then did he begin to realize the consequences of his actions. "You are not fit to be mine; you are not fit to live!" The only thing keeping me from killing him was my overly soft heart, wherein resided the love I still harbored for him. "A tide of death this large will surely be sensed by the others of our kind, Tavon." I looked at him sadly. "The retribution will come, and I will not assist you. Walk in the sunlight," I told him. "Walk in the sunlight and die, as that will surely be more pleasant than what the others of our kind will do to you for nearly revealing our secret." With that I left him, still sitting on that rooftop. I felt a certain responsibility at his undoing, but I did not wish to put myself in harm's way. I traveled across the ocean, to Spain, my beloved home, and settled just outside of Madrid. I kept to myself, disturbing nothing and no one. I no longer killed my prey; I drank from several people a night to fill my hunger. I dare not risk exposure again, especially in my childhood home of which I was so fond. I cloaked myself from Tavon, and though I knew that he still lived, I did not know where or what he was doing. My heart was wrenched in two, knowing that there would never be another for me. The days turned to weeks, and weeks turned to months, as I continued my lonely existence. I rarely left the house I lived in other than to feed. I longed to end it all. But I was not a brave woman. If I ended my unlife, what would become of me? I was surely bound for hell, a notion that ensured I continued my wretched existence, at least for the time being. Almost eleven months had passed since I had forced Tavon to join me, and three since I had left him. I made the decision to let myself pass into a deathlike sleep. It was the night that I was going to bury myself in the Spanish earth, but something stopped me. That evening as I hurried around, making last minute preparations for my "death", there was a sudden knock at the door. The knock was surprising as I had never had company at this house, and did not know anyone in the town. Upon opening the door, I laid eyes on the second most handsome mortal that I have seen to date, Tavon being the first. His luminous blue-green eyes stared up into my green ones with curiosity. He should have been afraid, but he was not. "I am Wilhelm," he said simply in an accent stemming from the American South. Those words uttered he bent his neck to me, a ripe offering of blood. The scent of blood rose on the warm summer air and I hissed, backing away from the door. "Why are you here?" I groaned as he stepped ever closer to me, his neck still bent, his veins pulsing with the lifeblood that he offered me so freely. "I want to be yours," he stated. This must surely be some sort of trick, for why would a man I had never met come to my house and tell me he wanted to be mine? I stopped dead in my tracks and trained my eyes on him. His short blond hair stood in spikes and smooth, flawless, white skin only accentuated his beautiful eyes and cupid's bow of a mouth. "Stand straight," I commanded him, for the flow of the blood in his tender throat was nothing but a tease, a taunt that appealed to my inner monster. It was then that I noticed the bite marks on the opposite side of his neck, and with that, I scented past his blood, down to his clothing and skin. Tavon. I reeled with the knowledge that he had found me. I had cloaked myself from him, providing no clue as to where I was, so how was it then that he knew? "Where is he?" I inquired of the mortal before me, who now stood trembling slightly. "Where is who?" he asked, but the fear had already crossed his face. He was merely a pawn in this game that Tavon had decided to play with me, even though I did not know what he hoped to gain. In a bound, I was upon him, my fingers pressing hard into his face. "Where is Tavon?" I raged. "I know you did not find me by yourself, and I smell him on you." Wilhelm cried out and I released him from my grip, letting him fall back to the floor. "He said you would know," Wilhelm stuttered and his grandiose speech made me smile. "He said to tell you that he is truly sorry. He begs that you allow him to be with you again. I am his present for you. He said you would like me." Ah, so Tavon was trying to please me with this mortal. He knew me better than I thought. "And you would be my slave?" I said softly. Wilhelm nodded. "I am already his, and I would be yours if you'd have me." I looked closely at the handsome man before me, who had lost his fear and now stood before me erect and proud, as if stating that he was surely good enough for me. I smiled. "You do not know what you ask, Wilhelm. But go, and tell your master to come to me. We will discuss things then." He slowly backed out of the door, nodding, and then turned to run into the night. Closing the door behind him, I sighed and then went to sink into my favorite chair. Tavon definitely knew the right buttons to push. My thoughts returned to all of his shananigans of the past. Dare I hope that he would change, that he would beat his monstrous half into submission? It seemed too much to hope for. Tavon and Wilhelm must have flown with the speed of our kind, for less than half hour later, there was another knock on my door. I opened it and the first glimpse of my lover was enough to take the breath out of me. Tavon was absolutely radiant as he stood behind Wilhelm; his skin gleamed like highly polished mahogany. He was dressed sharply, beautifully accentuating the strong, clean lines of his body. He was magnificent. "Good evening, mistress," he greeted me, as I stepped back, allowing them to pass. His eyes lingered on me and he took my hand, raising it to his lips for a light kiss. I said nothing, and they stood in the entranceway like children, waiting for their turn to speak. I crossed the room in three long strides, sinking once again into my chair and motioning for them to sit on the sofa. Then I clasped my hands and surveyed Tavon with cold eyes, wondering if he was to be trusted. "Please don't be angry with me," he said softly, breaking the silence. "I understand the error of my ways now, Aurelia. Please don't turn away from me." He bowed his head and Wilhelm looked concernedly at him. I, however, would not be taken in by his charms so quickly. Though I could sense his sorrow, and read on his thoughts clearly that he abhorred life without me, I did not want him to think he would be getting off that easily. I looked now at Wilhelm and tried to sense just what relationship was going on between the two of them. Tavon had never expressed an interest in men, so it would have surprised me if they had been lovers. A quick stroll through Wilhelm's mind revealed two things to me: that he was fascinated with vampires, and that they were not lovers. Tavon could not bear the silence. I knew he thought that I would turn him away, that he would never again be welcomed in my life. "I've brought you this present," he said feebly, motioning to Wilhelm. The mortal looked at me eagerly. "He wants to serve you, just as much as I do." At this, I grinned wickedly. "If he is my present," I hissed. "Then why did you not wait to sink your fangs into him? You have brought me a flawed gift, Tavon. Can you do no better?" He was off the couch with a grimace, pulling Wilhelm to his feet and trying to escape out the door. I was merely playing, but I had cloaked my mind so well that Tavon could not tell what I was thinking. I moved with preternatural speed, blocking their route and Tavon stopped dead in his tracks. "Leave him with me," I ordered him. "I will return him to you shortly, along with my decision." I stepped away from the door and Tavon made his escape, hissing not with anger, but with pure fear. Wilhelm looked just as frightened until I stepped closer to him, letting my hands trail over his warm mortal body. "Do not be frightened, my sweet," I cooed softly. At my words, he immediately showed signs of relaxation and looked up into my eyes hopefully. "So, you wish to become one of us, a vampire?" He said nothing, but nodded, his intense blue-green eyes looking directly into mine. "And you know the prices that will be paid, the sacrifices you will make?" Again, he nodded. I clasped his warm hand in my own icy grasp and pulled him gently towards the sofa. His mind was mine to read, and I viewed the memories, which floated about the surface. His life, he thought, was no longer worth living, and to live as a vampire would be the answer to all his problems. Naive. One quickly learns that vampiric life is not without its problems, its mortal fears. But he was on a quest for a new life, and who was I to stop him? "You said you would be my slave," I said gently. "Then show me. How will you pleasure me?" He looked at me hesitantly for a moment, and I reclined myself on the sofa, opening myself to him. It was all the encouragement he needed. His big hands slid up my bare calves, the whiteness of his flesh contrasting beautifully with the darkness of my own. He leaned over me, all the while looking at my face to make sure he was welcome to touch me. Upon seeing my encouraging smile, he plunged his hand up my dress, caressing my thigh, and coming ever so close to my freshly moistened sex. He moved to the floor, kneeling over me as his hand reached my mound and I heard him breathe in deeply at the heat flowing from that spot. I began to shudder with the anticipation of his actions. His eyes closed as he began to stroke my hardened clit ever so softly, the other hand reaching blindly for my breast. "Yes, my sweet," I moaned. He tugged at the top of my dress, straining to pull my breasts free from their entrapment. With inhuman strength, I ripped the fabric from my body, letting it fall away to the sides, and this action drew a sharp breath from Wilhelm. "So beautiful," he breathed. He resumed his position on the couch, bending his head downward towards my glistening hairs and buried his nose in my mound. He was as an animal possessed as he lapped and pulled gently at my hardened nub of flesh, drawing sharp moans of pleasure and pain from me. It had been three months since I had been with Tavon last, and the renewed contact inflamed my senses, pushing me closer and closer to the brink of the orgasmic abyss. "Please," he groaned. "Let me fuck you. Call me your own." In a flash, we were on the floor, and he struggled to remove his clothing while still maintaining contact with me. The skin beneath his shirt was flawless, gleaming like diamonds and I had to concentrate to repress the urge to slice his unmarred skin to ribbons. He was perfection wrapped in a mortal body, and as he slid his pants down his broad hips, it only got better. Nine inches of thick, hard, pulsating meat sprung from between his legs, and the sight of it only spurred my wetness further. His eyes locked on mine in a questioning look, and I nodded my head to him. His hands positioned themselves on either side of me and he pressed that huge shaft against my body briefly, bringing his mouth to my hardened nipples to suckle. The pressure between my legs was building, as mortal blood from earlier in the evening rushed through my veins. The tip of him pressed hard against my throbbing clit, making me writhe, my hips bucking up to meet him. I fought hard to keep shields up around my mind and also that of Wilhelm's. I did not want Tavon to know that I had accepted his gift, not yet. The pure ecstasy made it difficult to concentrate on anything besides what I was feeling. Wilhelm's tongue was fire as it circled my nipples, burning at my flesh and making me cry out for more. The feel of bare skin against bare skin chased me to the edge of that utopia which my body craved. "Do it now!" I shouted at him, no longer able to bear the torturous length of him pressed against, but not in me. He acquiesced to my request, and began to drive himself slowly and surely into my saturated sex. My long, perfectly manicured nails dug deeply into his flesh as he entered, making him gasp in pain. The wounded look on his face was quickly replaced with one of complete joy as he thrust harder and harder into me. Perhaps Tavon had told him that I liked it rough, for he made no hesitation to impale me on his full length time and time again. Our animal moans filled the large, empty dining room. Harder and harder, faster and faster; the delicious smack of skin on skin filled the room as his twins slammed into my ass and his hips dug into my thighs. I could no longer think, no longer concentrate, and I knew that the shields were gone, and Tavon would know. I did not care. I was lost in the wave of orgasm that flowed over me, knocking me senseless and sucking up my breath. He brought me screaming underneath him as the tidal wave crested, and I heard nothing but the rush of blood past my ears. I felt him explode deep inside me and collapse his body on top of mine. The blood pumping furiously through his veins seduced me and I sank my teeth into that tender white flesh, opposite of where Tavon had left his mark. If he struggled or cried out, I did not notice. The human was gone; the monster was draining him dry. But no, I returned to myself, just as his heart began to flutter weakly. My breathing shallow, I pushed him from me. Looking down at his now pale form crumpled on the carpet, I slit my wrist with my nails and offered it to him. "Drink and live then, Wilhelm. Be of our kind." His eyes were closed, but as I pushed my wrist against his mouth, he latched on, as a baby latches to a breast, and began to suckle. When he had enough, I pulled away from him and watched the mortal body die, to be replaced with a new unlife. The first few moments of dying and then being reborn were torturous for him, as they had been for Tavon before him, and further in the past, me. He gasped and trembled, his eyes closed all the while. And then, just as quickly as it had begun, it was over. He opened his eyes, which were no longer blue-green, but a brilliant jade green. He looked at me in awe, speechless at the newness of the feelings rushing through him. If it was everything he had expected, I did not know, but his excitement thrilled sharply in the air as he found his voice. "That was amazing!" he said happily, uttering the words as if he were a little child. I smiled indulgently at him and told him to dress himself. "We have company," I announced. Tavon was standing just beyond the front door. I flew to the door with celerity, still naked and still dripping sex, and opened it, curious to see how my lover would react to this situation. He stood there trembling, speechless, and I noticed a growing stain on the front of his pants. "I felt it," he whispered hoarsely. "I felt it when he brought you, just as if I were in your body." I laughed at him as I stepped back to allow him to pass. "Yes, love. We are connected. An orgasm that strong was sure to have been felt, and any future ones you will feel as strongly as if you were in my body. My blood still rushes through your body, fused to your internal organs. Even your heart that beats in unlife is imbued in my blood. Our bodies are mated together as one for as long as we both shall live, and neither you nor your little gift to me will ever fully escape me." I made sure Wilhelm heard my words. "Nor I the both of you." I could tell his mind was struggling to wrap around this concept, as was my newest fledgling's. I smirked. Women are much more able to understand the commitment and sacrifices of eternal love, whereas the notion puzzles most men. "But your own Master then," he began, lifting his eyebrows slightly. "I've never once heard you speak of him. If you, as our Maker, are an intrinsic part of our makeup as vampires, then why do I never sense thoughts or feelings about your own Master?" Mine Ch. 02 "My Master is dead," I said flatly, not willing to begin this conversation. But I knew that it would not end there, for Tavon is as stubborn as an ass, and must always dig until he is satisfied. "How?" "Ah, Tavon, Tavon. My love," I said softly. "Why must you always pry into incidents that you need not know about?" "I'm sorry," he stuttered. "I'm just curious." "Don't you know that curiosity killed the vampire?" I smirked. "I will tell you how he died, but only because the moral of the story needs to be learned by you as well as Wilhelm. Both men looked at me wide-eyed as they settled in on the couch to listen to my story. It was one I had thought over many times before I had met Tavon, and not once since. After Tavon, I needed no other vampiric company, a fact that I had made chillingly clear to my sister vampire, Mai-Ling. I began. "Tavon you know that Spain is my homeland." He nodded, eager for me to get to the interesting part. "My Maker was from Ancient Greece, old and powerful. He rolled into my house one night, following me as a mist. He made himself known, told me that he had been watching me for a while, and desired me as his companion. I was young, like Wilhelm, barely nineteen, and curious about vampires. He made me that same night, and I followed him wherever he went, learning about my new un-life and our predatory ways." I paused, taking in the four eyes that were glued to me. Perhaps I should have told this tale earlier. "My Master, Apollo, desired to travel to the east, into Asia. There we met Mai-Ling, a beautiful Chinese girl who captivated my Master. He spent more and more time with her, eventually casting me to the side. I was angry, sorrowful, but I could not leave my Maker, for I still did not know everything there was to know about life. He made her finally, and at her urging all three of us lived happily for a time." Again I paused, noticing that the pair were leaning ever closer to me, eager to lap up every word. Smiling, I continued. "But our happiness was not to last. One night Mai-Ling was out alone, and a group of vampire hunters seized her. My Master fought them off, killing them one by one, until he freed the woman he so loved. It was near morning, and Mai-Ling came home, but my Master did not. A second group of vampire hunters had joined with the first and captured him. Mai-Ling and I screamed with pain as he died, his flesh burning away from his body as the white-hot sun that rules us rose. Then there was nothing. A sense of emptiness that would never again be filled." Little gasps came from my audience as they imagined the fiery heat of the sun on their own bodies. "I stayed with Mai-Ling a while, and together we tried to learn what our Maker had not been able to teach us, but she was just a reminder of the fact that he had loved her more than I. Not to mention it was her stupidity and youth that ended him in the first place. So I left her and roamed Europe for a time, before finally coming to the Americas. She kept following me, and finally I threatened her that if she should ever come near me again, I would rip out her throat. She disappeared from my life shortly before I met you, Tavon." My two sons were speechless as I finished my story, and I noted that they looked at each other suspiciously, wondering which one I would love more. "No," I said, stopping the quarrel before it began. "There will be neither jealousy nor arguments between you. Tavon will always come first in my heart, Wilhelm, but there is room here for you as well. I would never sacrifice one for the other. I would not be Apollo." "I'm curious about..." began Tavon, but I stopped him with a wave of my hand. "You will meet her soon enough," I informed him. "But do not think the meeting will be pleasant." Even as I spoke these words, I knew. The words I had spoken in my quiet home at the border of Madrid had carried on the night wind, across the wide-open spaces and the distance to the New World, to the street in New York, to the listening ears of my vampire sister. She was already on her way here. No doubt she would come to me the following night, once again begging for forgiveness. "Come then, Mai-Ling," I projected. "I will not harm you." Wilhelm was looking a bit pale and so we flew into the dazzling night to feed. Several bodies later, we returned to my home and prepared to sleep. Tavon slipped into the bed behind me, and Wilhelm lay in front. I held him close as I felt Tavon's arm encircle my waist. As the sun rose, we fell into the sleep of a thousand deaths, huddled together in our newly formed threesome. ******************************* My sons slept on, though the sun had gone down hours before. I did not wake them. Wilhelm especially needed this first night's sleep as his body was still adjusting to the changes. I rose and dressed. I sensed that Mai-Ling was drawing ever closer to our home and would be upon us shortly. I stiffened at the thought that came zinging into my mind, "Good evening, Aurelia, my dear sister." She was very close. Tavon and Wilhelm rose from the bed, eagerly rushing to go out into the night and hunt. I smiled at their youthfulness, and soon we were in Madrid, feasting on fattened club-hoppers and wealthy socialites. Wilhelm learned quickly and exhibited a great appetite for learning. I even taught them to assume the mist form and glide down the city streets as fog. But our night was not all about fun and games. We were in a bar, watching the mortals that passed us by, when I felt Mai-Ling's presence. "She's here," I stated simply. "Who?" asked Wilhelm. My eyes were fixed to the door and I saw her as she entered; I noticed as she drew attention from most of the men in the room. Mai-Ling was tall, graceful, her body shaped with delicate curves. She was beautiful, but I did not envy her, for I knew she had been alone since the day I had left her. She did not have the strength to Make a companion, for she feared what it would take away from her own being. Without looking at me directly, she made her way to where the three of us sat, undulating like a serpent as she crossed the dance floor. Her writhing form transfixed Wilhelm, but I was pleased to see that Tavon had turned his head and closed his eyes, unwilling to stare at her tantalizing figure. Whereas I had the power to seduce mortals with my voice, Mai-Ling's power was to draw them to her with a simple movement of her body. This power often affected our kindred as well, and this was not the first time I had seen her use it against another. She hoped to draw my lovers into her grasps, and take from me all that I loved. Wilhelm I could lose, but I would never allow Tavon to be hers. I looked to Wilhelm, and he was gone; his eyes shining with the radiance of Mai-Ling's body and the lust that I had seen in those eyes the previous night. There was no doubt in my mind that he would fall, he would succumb to her power, and so I let him stare. Tavon, on the other hand was struggling to keep his eyes away from her; he had turned his whole chair in the direction facing opposite her. He touched my hand hesitantly, and if there had ever been a moment in which I doubted I loved him, all was forgotten. He did not wish to hurt me by falling to her power. "Cloak your mind, Tavon," I instructed gently, as his clammy fingers caressed my hand, seeking comfort. "I will help you, but do not allow yourself to look her fully in the eyes, for in that she will gain power over you." Allowing Mai-Ling to come here was wrong. I had thought perhaps it was time to end the coldness and separation between us, but as she came closer and closer, using the most seductive of her magics, I knew she was only out to rob and steal that which did not belong to her. "Greetings, Aurelia, beloved sister," she hailed me. "And greetings to your two sons." Neither said a word, Wilhelm was too busy letting his mouth hang open and Tavon was squeezing my hand, letting me know that he did not want to leave me. Even as she stood in front of our table, her body still flowed, and she was using her power so heavily that even I was nearly taken in by it. "Sit down, Mai-Ling, and stop trying to seduce the fledglings. Or would you like me to make good on my threat?" This calmed her movements and she sat, trying her best to be still. Her eyes flicked to my companions; a look of mirth crossed her face as she gazed on them. Wilhelm had managed to shut his mouth now, and was leaning dreamily closer to her. Tavon made no movement and his chair continued to face the wall. "Why does this one not look upon me?" she questioned rudely, pointing to Tavon. "Come, I will not bite, little one." Tavon's hand squeezed against mine in a panic, which told me that he was tempted to look. I moved my chair behind his, facing away from Mai-Ling and slid my arms around his waist, letting my chin rest on his shoulder to prevent him from turning his head. I heard a small chuckle from Mai-Ling. "Ah, Aurelia, I will not take your precious Tavon. You can stop protecting him now." "If you will not control your power, then we have nothing to discuss, Mai-Ling." I silently cursed her in Spanish, and I felt her drop her flaring power. "That's better." I turned slightly to face her, without releasing Tavon from my grip. He had relaxed somewhat, but still squeezed my hand. "Why have you come here?" I asked her. "Darling, you know the answer to that already. Centuries cannot quench the thirst I have had for you since we lost our Maker. I wish for us to be sisters again, lovers perhaps." At these words I laughed. "How can you possibly think that I would allow you that close to my heart, when there has been nothing but lies and treachery from you so far tonight, Mai-Ling?" Her voice faltered as she answered me. "I am sorry, Aurelia. I did not want you to push me away as you have in the past. I thought perhaps, if I showed you my power and how great it has become, that you would respect me as your equal." She paused and expelled a long sigh. "I can see now that I thought wrong. Forgive me, my sister." I did not know whether to believe her, but I would not risk my beautiful Tavon. Nonetheless, her invitation was tempting. I quickly hatched a plot that would allow me to be with Mai-Ling, but at the same time keep Tavon out of her grasp. Wilhelm no longer mattered to me, as I could tell that he was long gone, and Mai-Ling would not hesitate to claim him. "You may stay here with Wilhelm," I said to her. "When I am ready for you, I will call." She nodded her head in agreement, and I stood, pulling Tavon from his chair and out the door. We misted our way to my place of residence and I instructed Tavon to go to the bedroom. "Do you care about Wilhelm?" I asked softly. "Yes," he answered, and I knew that he cared for Wilhelm as a brother. "She has to die, if he is to live, right?" I nodded. "I do not know what she will do with him," I sighed. "He is not her thrall, yet she holds him under her spell like a puppet. I only know that Mai-Ling has never truly cared for anyone but herself, a fact which she only made clearer tonight. Wilhelm would be with her as long as she finds him useful. After that, I fear she will abandon him, and without knowledge of how to find us, he may fall prey to the ancients or the vampire hunters." Tavon said nothing, but the look on his face told me that he did not want Wilhelm's young unlife to end in such an untimely manner. "Mai-Ling will give herself to me during the act of love, and in this time I feel she will be vulnerable. It is the best chance for me to end her unlife. But you must promise me Tavon, that you will not leave this room for any reason. I would not risk your unlife for Wilhelm's." "I won't, I promise," my handsome lover told me as his lips fused to mine, the anger and the hurt of the past dying away. He would always be Mine, and I loved him dearly. He lay down on the bed, burying his face in a pillow trying to block temptation from his mind and I closed the door behind me, locking it tightly. I projected to Wilhelm and Mai-Ling to come. Throwing the impenetrable fortress of my mind around Tavon, and myself I descended the stairs to await my guest. The knock on my door came shortly; I did not rise, but bade them to enter. Wilhelm's eyes were glazed and I knew she had brought him flying. I smelled the overwhelming scent of sex and I knew that she had already befouled him. Mai-Ling made no hesitation. The moment the door closed behind her, she was stripping off her clothes and Wilhelm's as well. I watched her with cold, yet intrigued eyes, as her mortal clothing fell away and the glory of her body was revealed to me. "Come, Aurelia. Do not play shy with me, my sister." She stalked towards me, Wilhelm following at her heels like a little puppy. I rose and she met me, her lips fused to mine in a crushing, dizzying kiss that left my knees weak. We had come so close to being lovers in the distant past, but my jealousy of her had always stopped me. Now we came together as animals, her naked body pressed into mine. Wilhelm begged for attention and she released me, no doubt giving me time to remove my clothing. I watched as they kissed; there was not nearly as much fire there as had been with me. When my clothes had been shed, Mai-Ling turned back to me, her breasts pushing against mine, and she nearly shoved me backwards onto the sofa. There was nothing slow to Mai-Ling's lovemaking, it was all animalistic; pure, raw, animal sex. Her hips bruised mine as she ground her body against me, her lips and tongue feeding intensely at my mouth. She was lonely and it showed. Wilhelm stood to one side, not daring to interfere, so I beckoned to him and he knelt down beside us. Mai-Ling seemed shocked by his sudden appearance. I drew away from her kiss, softly brushing my lips across my young thrall, willing him to realize the dangers of life with Mai-Ling. His mind gave no acknowledgement that he had heard or understood. She wriggled her body down mine, her sharp talon-like nails raking my stomach and leaving droplets of blood in their wake. I inhaled sharply as her wandering tongue trailed over my mound and probed the folds of delicate flesh. Because I knew that when this was over, I would send Mai-Ling into oblivion, I was not nearly as wet as I normally would have been. Mai-Ling seemed not to notice though as she commanded Wilhelm to fuck her, her words muffled as her tongue pressed frantically against my clit. She lost all concentration as Wilhelm entered her from behind, slamming his big body into hers eagerly. Her mouth released me from its grasp as he pleasured her, as I had known it would. Once again, Mai-Ling was proving to me that she thought of no one but herself. But I was not upset, I merely watched them for a time, awaiting that final moment when her ecstasy would make it possible for me to end her wretched unlife. I sat up carefully, pulling my legs gently from around her body and flipped around to face her. My lips meshed with hers and she used her hands to draw me even closer, until I could not move. Her tongue darted inside my mouth, not with any clear aim, but with the fire that she was feeling as Wilhelm brought her to the point of no return. Wilhelm sputtered and moaned behind her as he came, and she screamed with the force of her orgasm, her claws digging into the smooth skin of my face, again drawing blood. She held me tight, and I struggled to break free, knowing that the time I had to end her was growing short. Surprisingly, Wilhelm picked up his pace and she howled a never-ending song of pleasure, releasing me from her grip. I made my move, tilting her neck to one side, and sinking my fangs as deep as possible in the beautiful perfection of her yellow skin. The blood of all her victims came swirling into my veins, pulsing with the horror each had felt as she ended their mortal lives. She screamed in anguish, but Wilhelm did not notice as her scream sounded much like the one before it. I had her nearly drained when he finally realized that something was amiss, and he rushed me. I pulled her failing body to me tightly and turned to mist, rising towards the ceiling. I felt her power thrill through my body, as the last of her blood flowed past my lips. Wilhelm was raging and screaming beneath us, but all I could feel was the unlife of Mai-Ling slipping away into oblivion. She still struggled; fists beat upon my back as I clung to her, her mind begged me to stop, to restore her life. But I was beyond compassion. I had simply had enough of Mai-Ling. I felt Tavon as he came down the stairs, rushing to subdue a frenzied Wilhelm. "Just a few more minutes, Mai-Ling," I thought. "And then you may go to be with your Maker." In the final moment of her unlife, she still begged me for forgiveness, willed me to stop. I ripped out her throat and her remaining blood streamed into my mouth in gushes. The final taints of blood were bitter on my tongue, as they were with mortals, and I knew her life was over. I let her body drop to the floor below where Wilhelm cried. Tavon looked up at me as I crouched there on the ceiling, his tender brown eyes reinforcing the fact that I had made the right decision. Wilhelm was back with us. Her power over him was broken and her death would fade from his memory as a bad dream fades upon waking. My sons huddled on the floor together, the stronger comforting the weaker. I knew the experience would forever change Tavon; he had finally learned that caring for no one does not do. Together we carried Wilhelm's limp form to the bedroom, and slipped in beside him, engulfing his body with our warmth. As the sun rose, the two of them fell into deathlike sleep, but I remained awake. The two of them were Mine now, and I would protect both of them as long as I lived. Happy thoughts were mine as I gazed upon my little family, knowing that one of these days we would find the peace that I so longed for. For if I have learned one thing over the centuries, it is that loneliness does not do. Family, no matter the consistency, is important to vampires and mortals alike. After all, life is so much better when you have someone you can call "mine."
