For me, college has been the time and place for absolutely everything, whether I liked it or not. My name is Vincent. And by sunrise I intend to be dead. Better that than to live forever the way I live now. Michelle got lucky, but I can't stand seeing people I care about put on the spot like that just because they know me. Simply being what I am has already proved too costly for me. Wait... You don't even know what I'm talking about, do you? I guess I am starting off on the wrong foot. Let's see... I guess the trouble really started with me sitting in that assembly room, listening to Patrick declaring his goals for the SVA to expand their reach to the rest of the campus. I was just about cringing, and I could tell our leader was being more than a little bit influenced in his decision making. No, wait, that's not the right place to start either. I need to go back farther, to when my whole life changed. Okay, I've got it. My story would really more accurately begin in my psychology class. I sat listening to the lecture with half an ear in my typical lecture-hall position; that is to say eyes half closed, elbow resting on the desk and face resting on my knuckles. Professor Quentin knew very well what he was talking about, but he seemed to be the only one who did. It was only a fifty-minute class, but he was that kind of professor who had complete control over time itself and was able to stretch fifty minutes into hours without adding any time to the clock. At last, the class was dismissed, and I was all too eager to remove myself from the room. Nonetheless, I ended up staying a little longer. Alicia happened to be there to hold me up. Alicia had dirty blonde hair which, as usual, was tied back in a ponytail, and a pair of lively blue eyes. She wore one of her typical outfits, which consisted of an open denim vest over her magenta tank top and tight black pants. "Hey Vincent!" she said as she approached from her seat on the other side of the aisle. I greeted her with a smile, as always. Alicia and I were what you might call an item waiting to happen. Or maybe an item that could have been. It all depended on whether the glass was half full or half empty. We'd been making eyes at each other since the day we met on campus, but I never really got around to asking her out before some drummer in a local band named Bobby asked her first. Alicia's not the kind of girl who has an easy time saying no. At the very least, we were on close, friendly terms by that point. "What's up, Alicia?" "I just thought we could meet some time to study up for next week's test?" "You want to arrange a study date with me?" Alicia quickly looked around her. "Careful using the 'D' word." "Alicia, you know as well as I do that you don't have to worry about Bobby overhearing you, because he doesn't take this class, which is the only reason you're asking me and not him." She scoffed at me. "Oh, don't be so cynical!" I just shrugged. Who was I to say no? "Okay, sure." She said something then. I have no idea what it was. Well okay, I have some idea, since she ended up repeating it a moment later, but at that particular moment Alicia suddenly became the last thing on my mind. As the other students were filing out of the lecture hall, one girl looked at me as she passed. Unable to help myself, I looked back. The world instantly reduced its pace. The first thing I really saw was a pair of eyes locked with mine. Those eyes... My God! Those eyes! I think they would technically be defined as hazel, but they looked to me more like gold. I don't know what it was about her eyes, but the spell they cast was so overwhelming there was simply no denying it. I couldn't look away. When I managed to take in the girl I was looking at beyond just the eyes, I realized the girl herself was pretty fabulous too. She had long, silky black hair that was parted on the right side, coming very close to covering her left eye, and luscious red lips. She wore a light jacket made of black leather, a red tube top that seemed specifically positioned to add a little push to her chest, a black leather miniskirt and a pair of sandals to show off her black toenails. She gave me a tempting smile as she walked by. I remained fixated on her, until suddenly a pair of fingers snapped in front of my face, and I looked back to a rather peeved Alicia. "Uh, I'm sorry, what were you saying?" She gave me a pretty nasty look. "I asked if I could meet you in the library at six o'clock on Saturday?" I shrugged. "Works for me. Bobby's not taking you anywhere this Saturday?" "Bobby has a gig on Saturday. Kind of out of town. I told him I'd need that night to study, so I'm not going with him." "Okay, cool." "Was she pretty?" I looked at her. "Who?" "You know who." I grimaced, realizing I was being interrogated. "Yes, she was pretty." She was dating somebody else, yet I still succeeded in making her jealous by checking out another girl. She and I really should have been together, although that particular thought was still failing to come to me at that moment. My mind had already started drifting again. My eyes scanned about the area of the door, even though I knew she was gone by now. "Anyway," I said hurriedly, "I gotta run. I got another class to get to." I didn't even wait for her to say bye. Looking back on it, that moment was probably one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. I emerged from the classroom into the hall and began wildly looking about. She couldn't have gotten far. She had to be somewhere... nothing. My shoulders slumped as I observed no trace of the mystery beauty I'd seen a moment ago— A hand touched my shoulder. I turned my head cautiously to the side. There, once more, were those eyes. And that smile. I had been looking frantically for this girl when she had simply been lying in wait for me. Under ordinary circumstances that would have been embarrassing. Right now, though, all that mattered was that I'd found her; or more accurately, she'd found me. She drew her mouth close to my ear and whispered: "My name's Elizabeth." That said, she walked around behind me and began proceeding on her way. "I'm Vincent!" I hurriedly said before she was out of earshot. As she strode away, she responded by looking back and shooting me another of her irresistible smiles. She turned to face forward again as she continued on, but just before she disappeared from view, she turned fully back to me, and I'm certain I read her lips saying "I'll see you again." The moving crowd of people around me might as well have disappeared. Hell, the college campus itself might as well have not been there at all. All I was standing on were clouds. I went through my remaining classes as normal, with the possible exception of listening with less of half an ear than usual. Every time I blinked, Elizabeth's shimmering golden eyes and beautiful, tempting smile returned to me. I couldn't get the girl out of my head. How had this girl I'd barely met cast such a spell on me? I finally returned to my dorm room in something of a stupor. I don't actually remember walking in through the door, but I came out of it fairly quickly, because I definitely remember seeing my roommate, Larry, lying on his bed with one of his Penthouse magazines. I recall seeing him turning to a page depicting two blonde girls slobbering over an engorged rod. Same old Larry. Larry was... well, I wouldn't exactly call him fat, but large. Bulky. The kind of guy you probably wouldn't want to wrestle with. He had a head of bushy brown hair and a little tuft beard. His hobbies: lounging around with porn magazines, going to frat parties from which he usually came back roaring drunk at about 4 a.m.... You get the picture. He specifically scheduled his classes to start late, allowing him to make time to sleep—rather loudly I might add—after all his partying. He had a tendency of ending up late anyway, though, considering the hangovers he frequently woke up with. You know, the kind of guy whose picture you'd find in the dictionary if you were to look up the word "lout." "Hey, Vince, what up man?" he said without looking up from his magazine. I threw my backpack down and crashed out on my own bed. "Not much. Met a new girl today." "She hot?" I spared Larry a glance. He still wasn't even looking at me. "Yeah, she's hot." "How far'd you get?" "Not very, but she did suggest she planned on seeing me again." "Chick thought you were something, huh? Cool." Not once had he bothered to ask me her name. "How's it going with your girlfriend, Larry?" "Girl's kinda uptight, but I can work through her sooner or later. Gotta sweet ass on her, and these tits like you wouldn't believe." Larry's priorities. No mention of what she looked like above the neck. I decided against asking her name, as it didn't seem beneath Larry to not even know. Instead I asked him, "Going to another frat party tonight?" "Hell yeah!" he declared. "I'm going to go hook up with the boys, and we're gonna show everybody whole new ways to get nasty!" "Hope you enjoy yourself," I said bluntly. Larry closed his magazine, sat up and finally looked at me. "Hey, Vince, why don't you ever join me at these parties?" Eeeewwww! "Are you kidding me?" "No, really! I mean, what else do you do at night, just study? You gotta unwind some, man! Why don't you just put the books down for one night and learn from the professionals how to have some fun?" I wanted to say "Because being in the same room with one lout is enough for me," but decided against it. If you ask me now, I couldn't tell you why I said what I did say. "Okay." The second the word left my mouth I began questioning my own sanity. "Cool!" My stomach turned. *** What the hell am I doing here? That was all I could think from the moment I walked in the door of the frat house and was instantly surrounded by dirtballs who struck me as worse than Larry, if that was possible. Almost every person in the room, the guys especially, had plastic beer cups in their hands, and several of them were screaming things I won't even try to repeat, denoting that most of them had completely boozed themselves beyond all comprehension of reality. The girls weren't much better, either. Most of them were prancing about, flaunting themselves, allowing themselves to be exploited. It was disgusting. "Look around here and tell me you'd rather be studying now," Larry beamed. "Okay," I said, glaring at him, "I'd rather be studying now." Larry gave me a perplexed look, then scoffed. "Aww, you'll like it better once you've had a couple o' drinks. You just mingle or something, I'm gonna go get my freak on, man!" I watched with disgust as Larry wandered off into the crowd. Who was I kidding? I simply did not belong here. A room full of drunks and pot heads was not my kind of scene. I was more than ready to turn around and walk out the door, when all of a sudden something radically changed my mind. "Hello, Vincent." The voice came from behind me. Considering I had only heard her voice in a whisper before, I really shouldn't have known it was her. But I did. I turned around and found... no one. What the hell? "I told you I'd see you again." To my right this time. I turned again. Still no one except the crowd of sleaze, who weren't the least bit interested in me. A hand touched my shoulder. I turned just my head this time. There was Elizabeth, showering me with her golden gaze. The absence of her jacket aside, her outfit hadn't really changed. That stood fine with me. Just her mere presence was enough to turn this despicable scene into a healthier light. She took a step back, still beaming me with that smile of hers, and crooked a finger for me to follow her. As if I even needed to be told. A part of me knew I should be a little more cautious; I didn't even really know this girl. Yet something about her was just too irresistible to refuse. She led me up the stairs, and towards a particular room. Clearly uninhabited. A smirk cracked its way into my lips, as I understood now that she wanted us to be alone. In a room upstairs. As she ushered me in, I found it was also a room with a bed. She slowly shut the door behind her, and locked it. She slipped her feet out of her sandals, and turned ever so gracefully to me and began slowly striding forward. "I knew," she said softly. "I knew from the moment I saw you, you'd be perfect." "Perfect for what?" "You'll see," she smiled. In a quick, clean motion, she slid off her red tube top, under which she wore no bra. She stepped up to me, threw her arms around my neck and tenderly engulfed my mouth. As surprised as I was at how fast she was going with me, I was in no position to protest, and eagerly returned the favor. I felt her hands leave my neck and travel down to my waist, and in the next moment the rim of my shirt was rising up my body. She briefly disengaged from my mouth long enough to pull the article off of me, then immediately resumed. The warm cushion of her breasts pressed firmly against my chest. After a few minutes of this, her lips wetly slid down off of mine, and traveled down to my collarbone. She continued to lower herself, her lips never leaving my body for more than a split second. Her mouth gradually crawled its way down me, leaving a wet trail in its wake, until she finally reached the rim of my pants. She did not intend to allow that to stop her for long, though. Her hands were already hard at work to circumvent this new obstacle, and within moments, my drawers were dropped and my shaft released from its squalid prison. She voraciously engulfed me in her gaping mouth, and began bobbing and twisting her head around on it, humming softly with hunger. I sighed loudly and ran my fingers through her shimmering black mane. She slowly opened her golden eyes and looked up at me joyfully. Her mouth opened wider, and her tongue ran teasing strokes along the end of my shaft. "You taste good," she said sensuously. She gracefully strode past me over to the bed. I didn't actually notice what her hands were doing until I heard a zip and saw her miniskirt drop, which she also had no panties beneath, leaving her totally naked now. She turned and dropped herself down to a sitting position on the bed. "I'll bet I taste pretty good too." I didn't need to be told for an instant what she wanted. She lay flat on the bed as I eagerly walked up to her and placed my hands on her hips, gazing at her glistening, hairless pussy. I wasted no time before moving my face in to devour the tempting snatch before me. Her hips churned with excitement beneath me as my tongue exercised a level of skill I didn't even know it had. I felt her fingernails clawing their way through my hair, and her soft moans filled the dimly lit room. "Oh, yes," she moaned, "you are perfect." I curiously looked up at her. I still didn't understand what she meant by that, but at this point the question of its meaning seemed less of an issue. Suddenly she grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me up onto the bed with her, and rolled us over, positioning herself on her hands and knees above me. She looked down at me passionately for a moment, and then ever so slowly lowered herself onto me. Once again, her hips began to churn, this time on top of me. Her breathing sounded hard and loud, as her eyes fluttered shut and she threw her head back. My hands gripped tight onto her hips, attempting to increase the motion they were creating. An audible cry finally escaped from her open mouth, and her head dropped forward, draping her silky hair across my chest. More cries began coming in faster succession, and as she ultimately whipped her hair back again and looked down at me, I took the moment to seize control. I instantly lunged up at her, draping my arms around her and rolling us over again. I now lay prone on top of her, and the active motion was now mine to make. I proceeded hammering at her, and she pulled my face down to her and locked lips feverishly with me. When I disengaged from her mouth, she pulled my face down further, and we lay coupled cheek-to-cheek as I continued plunging. Her cries were now coming out right next to my ear, and I utterly loved it. All at once, the cries coming from her took a sharp increase in volume, and the wet vice that held my cock began squeezing tighter. In the throes of her orgasm, she began applying her lips to the side of my face; first my cheek, then ever so slowly down towards my neck. In the process, I began to feel my own burst brewing. I was beginning to pull out before unleashing my load, but the hand she placed firmly on my rump quickly dispelled any intention of doing that. At last, it happened; I exploded inside of her. As this was happening, and she was fervently necking me, I wasn't sure, but for a moment I thought I felt a pair of tiny pinpricks on my throat. It didn't follow with any real pain, though, so I quickly forgot about it. At last, it was over. Attempting to catch my breath, I slowly rolled off of her onto my back. Needless to say, I was exhausted. I wasn't even sure I had the energy to get up and put my clothes on. I simply lay there, staring at the ceiling, and breathing. I felt... drained. I saw Elizabeth's form crawl up above me and give me an open-mouthed smile. "You were delicious," she mused. I couldn't help but smile back at her. "And I suppose I was perfect, too?" She smiled wider. "You still are perfect." My vision was a little blurred, but I thought I began to notice a slight abnormality in her mouth. Two of her teeth seemed... different. Longer. Pointy. Like a pair of fangs. Before I could lean in for a closer inspection, though, she rolled off of me with a giggle. I couldn't see what she was doing after that, but it mostly sounded like the rustle of clothes being put on. At last I heard her say, "You should probably at least put something on before whoever owns this room comes back and finds you like this." I laughed despite myself, and slowly, groggily, arose to a sitting position. I turned around and saw her standing there, fully dressed, and again shooting me that sideways smile. "I'll see you again," she said as she walked out the door and closed it behind her. Shakily, I arose to my feet and began gathering my clothes. Something about this encounter had been strange. I felt unusually weak. Everything I moved seemed heavy. All I really knew was that I wanted to get back to my dorm room and get into bed. A daunting task to say the least. For the second time in one day, I returned to my dorm room in something of a stupor, although a different kind this time. I don't know how I actually got there; I came close to losing consciousness several times. But I remember I did get in through the door, shut it behind me, threw off a few clothes and crashed hard into my bed. I think it must have taken me all of two seconds to pass out. The world became enshrouded in mists. I had to extend a hand out forward, unable to make out anything that wasn't right in front of my nose. Moreover, an oppressive heat surrounded me. A stuffy, humid breeze wrapped itself around my body, barely allowing me to breathe. Something I couldn't see gave way beneath my feet. In the next instant, I was falling. I fell. I fell further. Splash! I had landed in a river of some kind. Not a large one, not too deep or wide; shallow enough to stand in. Additionally, I could see it. The blinding mists had dissipated, and the cool water was available to ease the heavy heat. I scooped up a handful of the cool liquid and splashed it across my face. But I quickly found my throat was in more urgent need. I scooped another handful and poured it into my mouth, cooling my dry throat. I bent down and scooped yet another handful into my mouth, and another. And another. Just as I was preparing for another, I began to realize that what I was scooping into my mouth wasn't water. It was warm. And thick. And it tasted much better than water. I looked down at the river in which I stood, at the deep red liquid I was wading in. Young Blood Ch. 01 Blood. I began to scream, the handful of red liquid dropping from my cupped hands, yet leaving them deeply stained. As my panic began to rise, so too did the current. The blood level of the river was rising, and pushing me harder and harder. My feet slipped away from whatever was beneath them. I was being carried along helplessly in a morbid river, to God only knew where. I didn't want to know. I curled myself up helplessly and placed my hands over my eyes, awaiting whatever was to come. Suddenly the speeding liquid rose me up, then abruptly came crashing down hard on me, as I landed... where was I? I rolled over, my eyes wide open. I was lying comfortably in a warm bed, the sheet up to my chest, my clothes gone, and perfectly clean. A mirror was attached to the ceiling, allowing me to look up at myself. As I looked, I suddenly realized I wasn't alone. In the reflection, I could see Elizabeth's shining golden gaze and beautiful smile looking back at me. I turned my head to the side, and there she was, smiling back at me. She began rolling over to me, placing her naked body on top of mine. She reached a hand down, and took hold of my hardening shaft, and gracefully impaled herself. She began moving rhythmically on top of me, her face against the side of mine, her breathing loud in my ear. I embraced her with fervor, gracious to be in contact with her again. Casually, I spared another glance at the mirror above me. I didn't really notice anything for a moment; then I did a double take. The hair I saw on the reflection of the girl humping me wasn't black. It was dirty blonde. And in a ponytail. As she turned her head to the side briefly, I was able to make out her features and saw that it was not Elizabeth at all. It was Alicia. Suddenly my own reflection began smiling at me. An open-mouthed, toothy smile. Toothy as in with fangs. "You know what you want," my doppelganger said to me. With that, he turned to the girl on him and sunk those fangs into her neck. "NO!" I screamed. The girl who was on top of me raised her head up to look at me with a fanged smile. This one was actually Elizabeth. "'No,' what?" she asked me. "After all, you're perfect for it!" "No! Get away!" I sat up hard, pushing her away from me— Rrrriiiiiinnnnggg! I sat up in bed, panting deeply. I slowly turned my head towards the ringing phone by my bedside that had woken me up. With a sigh, I collapsed back onto my pillow, holding one hand on my head and extending the other to pick up the receiver. "Hello?" I groaned. "Vincent!" "Alicia?" "Where the hell have you been?" she demanded. "Alicia, what time is..." I started to say, before turning to look at the clock and becoming utterly dumbfounded. 4:49 p.m. "Oh." "Don't tell me you've been in bed all day!" "Apparently I have, as a matter of fact. I guess I'm just kind of not feeling well." That actually wasn't really a lie. I did feel kind of funky. "I don't know how, but my roommate talked me into going to a frat party with him. I guess I'm suffering the consequences now." "You drink too much?" The prospect of telling her what really did happen didn't sit well in my stomach. (Actually, there were a few things that didn't seem to be sitting well in my stomach.) "I don't really remember a lot of what I did." "Well, I guess you know what to say the next time you get invited." "Boy do I." "We still on for Saturday? Which is tomorrow, by the way?" I grinned in spite of my discomfort. "Absolutely." "All right! Hope you feel better!" "Me too. Thanks! Bye." "Bye." Slowly, I hung up the phone and stood up. I reasoned that a little bit of natural light might do me good, so I opened the blinds. Instantly I regretted it. My arm flew up to my face in a frantic effort to block out the intense light. I waited a moment for my eyes to adjust to the light, but they weren't doing so. In fact, I suddenly realized it wasn't just my eyes. My whole body felt like it was burning. I immediately closed the blinds again and dropped to the ground, huddling up against my bed, breathing as if I had just escaped from a snake pit. Every part of me hurt. I didn't know how to describe what the inside of me felt like, but I knew I felt burnt on the outside. All I could really do was crawl back into my bed. I lay there for a while, my mind completely blank of anything except discomfort. My breathing came slow and heavy. Finally the door to the dorm room opened, and in walked Larry. "Hey, Vince, you're finally awake man!" I nodded slowly. "Yeah, hi Larry." "Damn, man, you must have gotten into some pretty serious shit last night! You were so out cold I had to check your pulse to make sure you weren't dead! Where were you last night, anyway?" A smirk found its way to my mouth. Telling this to Alicia would have been one thing. Telling it to Larry was something else entirely. "As a matter of fact, I was upstairs last night. Getting laid." The look on Larry's face was absolutely priceless. "You're shitting me, right?" "I'm a hundred percent serious! That girl I mentioned yesterday? I met her again at the party, she took me upstairs, and I boned her brains out!" "Fuck, man! That's great! I take back anything I ever said about you. You're a real man after all!" "And she was a real woman, let me tell you," I said, opting to give the kind of details Larry would care about. "I mean, hell, that had to be the sweetest pussy on God's green earth! And if I didn't know better, I'd have said she had a pair of watermelons on her chest!" Those weren't my priorities, of course. That was just me talking to Larry. He flopped down on his bed, propping his hands behind his head. "Now you're talking my language, man!" I chuckled inwardly to myself. I must have dozed off, because the next time I looked around the room, it was dark. Larry was gone. The clock read 10:23 p.m. Also, I felt better. I felt strong. I wouldn't exactly say I felt fit as a fiddle—not that I've ever really understood that phrase—but the peculiar sickness was gone. I got up and walked around, not bothering to turn on the light. It didn't seem necessary. I didn't need it to see that Larry had left a porn magazine sitting open on his bed, opened to a page with some big-breasted bimbo down on her knees with her mouth open and lots of guys all around stabbing their big weapons at her. I turned my gaze away from that, shaking my head. I took a peek through the blinds at the nighttime grounds outside. I was feeling the need for some fresh air, so I made up my mind to take little walk around off campus. I emerged from the dorm building onto the grass and into the cool night air. It felt magnificent. I casually wandered about, savoring the delightful feeling all around me. Okay, I didn't feel completely at ease. There was one other thing I felt a need for. The problem was that I had no idea what. This was an utterly alien longing to me. No, not a longing. A craving. Something inside me wanted something badly, and I had no idea how to calm it. As I wandered, I noticed a young woman out walking her little dog approaching. Some part of me seemed eager for a little companionship, as I found myself approaching her. "Hi!" I called to her as I drew nearer. "Nice night to be out in, isn't it?" She looked up at me with an awkward smile. "Um, yes, it is, I guess." As I came closer, the little dog began yapping at me. "Jasper!" she snapped at the dog. "Don't be obnoxious!" I hardly even noticed, but I was still coming closer to her. She continued talking to me. "So, are you a student here, or..." "Yes, I am. It's a good school." I didn't know why at the time, but as she looked at me, all of a sudden she began looking rather uncomfortable. "Yes, well I'm sure it is..." The dog continued its yapping as my feet carried me ever closer to her. "I, uh, it was... very nice talking to you..." Her face was steadily crossing the line between looking uncomfortable and looking scared. "...but I've really got to get my dog home... and myself home too, of course, you know..." By now I was nearly within arms reach of her. She was beginning to back away. "...so if you could just... not come... any... closer, please..." The next few minutes were something of a blur. I seem to recall having that young woman in my arms. I remember hearing more yapping from that dog for a moment. And I remember something warm and delicious running down my throat. The moment passed. I stood straight and sighed loudly with satisfaction. Whatever the strange craving plaguing me had been, I had satiated it. Then I looked down. There she lay, lifelessly sprawled on the ground. Her head rested sideways, pointing the two bloody little wounds on her neck upward. The little dog had quickly gotten the hell away from me. Horrified, I fell backwards into a sitting position on the grass and put a hand to my mouth. My jaw was wet. I slowly drew my hand away to observe the deep crimson on my fingers. In a flash, I leapt to my feet and bolted for the dorm building. I crashed in through the door, ran up to my level and barged into the bathroom. I screeched to a halt in front of the sink and turned the water on full blast. I ran my hands under the flow, first to wash the blood off, then to get a handful to splash my face. For more than one reason, too. When I looked up in the mirror, I saw a trickle of blood running down from both corners of my mouth. That as well as the oppressive heat of what I'd just done needed to be washed away. I threw the water over myself and leaned forward, resting my weight with my hands on the sides of the sink. Everything would have been quiet were it not for my breathing. Then I realized something. The reflection of myself I'd seen had been... different, shall we say. A certain feature about me had changed. For a moment I wasn't entirely sure I'd seen it. Slowly I raised my head, dreading that I might be right about what I'd seen. I leaned in closer to the mirror and pulled my lips back. I still saw them. I had to reach up and touch them to confirm that they were actually real, that I wasn't just imagining this. But it was true. I had fangs. I could barely maintain my balance on the floor. I turned out the light, held my hands to the sides of my head, staggered out of the bathroom and collapsed onto my bed. Over and over, the questions played in my head. What's happened to me? I had a terrible feeling in my gut I knew the answer to that. The more pressing question, however, was: What now? All at once, the bed shifted, as if from the weight of another person moving on it. I rolled over in a snap to find out who was here with me. The only light in the room came from the moonlight streaming in through the partially opened blinds, but that was all I needed to make out Elizabeth's golden eyes. Not to mention her smooth, gleaming body, completely unclothed. And the sharp fangs in her mouth, which for once wasn't smiling. She just looked at me passionately. "Elizabeth..." I started to exclaim, but she quickly put a finger to my lips. "I knew I was right when I chose you, Vincent. I knew you'd be perfect." "Perfect for what?" "For me." That said, she brought her lips down and tenderly kissed me. I had more questions I needed to ask her, and I wanted them answered now, but right then, against Elizabeth's irresistible charm, all protests were futile. And it didn't take her long to make me forget those questions anyway. All I could do right then was kiss her back. She violently yanked my shirt up and moved her head down, before her tongue started making swirls about my chest. Further and further down her tongue danced, while her hands worked to undo my pants and ultimately jerked them down. She took hold of my stiff member in one hand and ran her lively, dancing tongue up along it, stopping for a moment to dance about some when she reached the top. Then she lowered down to the bottom and repeated the motion. I shut my eyes and rolled my head back, my questions all but forgotten for the moment, as she continued to service me. I looked up at her again as the tongue play ceased, and I saw now that she was changing positions. She brought her leg up over me and sat vertically straddling me as she lowered herself once again onto me. Her hips began thrusting back and forth. Both of us were breathing heavily now. Unable to restrain myself, I reached my hands up and clasped her by the breasts, to which she responded by placing her own hands on the backs of mine and intertwining our fingers. She leaned forward after a few minutes, placing her hands above my shoulders, and looked at me, eye to golden eye. "You know," she said between breaths and mild cries, "being chosen... is a rare thing... I know you're scared now... I was scared too... but you'll make peace with it... I know you will." I wanted to ask her what she meant. I didn't. Questions could wait. Right now, it was starting to brew. She placed her hands on my chest and began straightening up again, moaning more loudly now. As my buildup reached a crescendo, I stiffened out as did she. I felt her snatch contract on my at about the same time as I shot off into her. As we both subsided, she collapsed onto me. This time, I felt no strange after effects. I felt like I figured I should have after such an act: somewhat exhausted, but not horribly drained and weak. And now I was beginning to understand why. I quickly remembered the questions I had. It was time for answers. I decided to forgo the long inquiry and just ask her straight up: "What did you do to me?" She raised her head and flashed me her incredible smile. "I think you know what I did." I had a heart-wrenching feeling that she was right. "I made you like me. We're the same now." Then she said it. The exact thing I knew she would, but hoped she wouldn't, say. "I made you a vampire." To Be Continued... Young Blood Ch. 02 Experts say that when somebody experiences something traumatic, there is a series of psychological phases that the individual goes through. For instance, after the initial shock comes the denial. Believe me, finding out you're a vampire definitely qualifies as something traumatic. And that was definitely the psychological phase I moved into after the initial shock. I woke up late the next morning as was usual for a Saturday. I had kindly asked Elizabeth to leave during the night, and she had gracefully accepted—though not without another cunning, crooked smile at me, and another promise to see me again—so I was alone except for the snoring Larry. I made up my mind to give Elizabeth and the events that occurred last night as little thought as possible. As much as I had expected what Elizabeth had told me, the whole vampire concept did have a few holes, didn't it? I certainly didn't feel like the undead; I still breathed, and my heart was still beating, and I didn't feel compelled to find a coffin to sleep in while I waited for the sun to go down. When I looked in the mirror, I still saw my reflection, and when I touched Larry's crucifix or stuck my hand in water, nothing particularly nasty happened to me, so I couldn't have really been a vampire, right? Still, I couldn't deny the fact that I felt... different. I don't think it's something I could really explain in words. It seemed as if my senses were heightened somewhat, like I was feeling the world like I never had before. Like I could feel the world breathing around me. I know, your head's probably spinning to understand that. I didn't really understand it either. But at the time, I made a stance and declared to myself that it didn't mean anything. It was about half-past ten, and I felt interested in a little human contact. Aside from Larry, of course, who as far as I was concerned was more garden slug than human. I picked up the phone and dialed Alicia's room. Someone picked up after the third ring. "Hello?" It wasn't Alicia. It was her roommate, Julie. "Uh, hi, is Alicia there?" "I think she's over at the library right now, but if you want I can... oh wait, here she is!" Some shuffling ensued, and Alicia's voice began flowing. "Hello?" "Alicia! It's Vincent." "Vincent, what is it?" I stopped for a minute. "Now that you mention it, I don't really know. I just felt like talking to you." "Well, maybe that's a good thing, because I actually have something to tell you." "What's that?" Her answer was utterly laced with innuendo. "I broke up with Bobby." I said nothing for a moment. That didn't mean, however, that she and I weren't communicating. I could practically hear her thinking "Come and take me" over the silence. "So what do you want to do about it?" I finally asked. "I don't know yet. For right now, we'll just stick to the study date plan... unless you want to go do something now?" I almost said yes. Then I stopped myself, and looked over to the closed blinds. I could see the daylight through them very clearly, and it definitely scared me. "Well, maybe some other time. I've got some stuff to take care of, but I'll definitely see you at six." "Okay, I'll see you then! Bye!" "Bye." I hung up, feeling rather uncomfortable. I looked towards that window again. We already established that the whole vampire bit is crap, right? Why was I so scared of the sun? Was it just because I had a bad experience with it yesterday? Yeah, that had to be it. Not once did I ask myself why I'd had that bad experience in the first place. All I knew was that the sun was shining and I had no intention of going out in it. Following a quick cup of coffee—which, if I may say, tasted a little differently than usual; not necessarily better or worse, just different—and a shower, I decided to kill some time by sitting down with some video games for a few hours. A little bit of Grand Theft Auto proved all I needed to get my mind off of the issue of what I was now. After keeping this up for about an hour or so—I'm not entirely sure how long it really was, since I'd gotten rather absorbed in it which was really the general intent in the first place—Larry finally woke up. "Morning, Larry," I said bluntly, not bothering to spare a look at the arising lummox. I didn't need to see him to know he was awake; I just needed to be aware that the snoring had stopped. "Hey, mornin' Vince," he groaned. "Up bright and early to steal a few virtual cars, huh? Gotta get up for somethin', might as well be that." I managed to pass most of the day comfortably, but ultimately, six o' clock began approaching. I prepared to leave with my books when I happened to spare another glance at the window. It wouldn't be out much longer, but for the time being going outside still meant stepping into the sun. I couldn't exactly tell Alicia I was late on account of that, now could I? If I was to go see her, steps had to be taken. At last, I bit my lip (metaphorically, I mean) and took that hesitant step outside. It was a little uncomfortable, and I stayed in the shade as much as possible, but when I didn't start frying up, I concluded that the sun block and sun glasses I was wearing were doing their job nicely. No, wait a minute, the reason I'm not burning up is because I'm not a goddamn vampire! I had to remind myself of that. I breathed a little easier now, and continued on to the library. Not surprisingly, Alicia was there first. She looked up at me as I approached and smiled. "I wasn't entirely sure you'd make it," she beamed. "Neither was I," I said on a whim. She gave me an odd look, which left me wishing I hadn't said that. I sat down with her, and we broke out the books. As the time went on, I began to get the feeling neither of us was really paying much attention to the books. We went through notes out loud, which I couldn't repeat here if I tried. Hell, I couldn't have repeated them two seconds after we read them. Her lips spoke the words we had written; all I saw was her lips moving. After having kept this up for about an hour or so and accomplishing very close to nothing, I suppose Alicia began looking for something to blame on our apparent lack of progress. Well anyway, that's one possible reason for what she ultimately said: "Do you want to take this into my dorm room?" I looked at her a moment, then shrugged. "Sure," I said, "why not." We packed the stuff up and proceeded to relocate. Every step of the way, we walked side-by-side, our hands each floating around the vicinity of touching, which happened through the occasional accidental bump. We did our best to keep our eyes ahead of us, but every now and then we would turn our gazes momentarily to each other. When we reached her dorm room, she informed me that Julie was going out to a movie, so we had the room to ourselves. We spread the books out on her bed and attempted to continue our studying. If anything, it was going worse than before. Neither of us could stop looking at each other. The tension in the room was such that I could almost bite into it. At one point, we were both staring at each other for what must have been at least a full minute. We snapped out of it at about the same time, and tried to get back to the studying, using a book that we both reached for at the same time. Our fingers practically interlocked. The powder keg finally blew. We lunged for each other simultaneously, one mouth vigorously attacking the other, hands going wild for anything and everything they could grab onto. We both began hurriedly pushing the books and papers off the bed and proceeded with attacking each other's clothes. Within moments I had tossed her blouse to the floor and was reaching behind her to unfasten her bra. It dropped off to the side, and in the next moment I had my face buried in her supple tits. I ran my lips and tongue in lazy circles around her stiffening nipples. I felt her hands on the back of my head, and a long, slow breath exuded from her mouth. She reached her hands down my back and began lifting my shirt up off of me. I reluctantly separated my face from her chest as she lifted it from my body, then began working to slide off her pants. Once her last article of clothing had been discarded, I grabbed hold of her hips and hoisted her lower section up, propping her legs on my shoulders, and poising my face to comfortably get at her tasty, juicy snatch, which I proceeded to devour with fervor. I heard her mewling softly as her hips began alternately moving up and down. When I was ready to move on to something else, I lowered her back down. As soon as she was able to, she leapt over to me and began hurriedly undoing my pants. She worked it just enough so that she could pull my throbbing rod free, and eagerly wrapped her lips and tongue around it, moaning hungrily as she bobbed her head about. She kept her eyes tight shut, focusing solely on my stiff member, jerking her head up and down and from side to side, periodically disengaging her lips and switching to the tongue which danced merrily about. When she finally popped off of it and raised herself up to look at me, I leaned in and began feverishly kissing her again. I slid my pants the rest of the way off, then took hold of her and threw her down on her back. I knelt over her and slowly slid my way into her. There was a sharp intake of breath as she threw her head back and closed her eyes. Sharp cries of delight began pouring from her mouth as I pounded away at her. My hands held onto her sides, which she responded to by placing her hands on top of mine, and continued keeping them there as I ran my hands up her body to ultimately cupping them over her breasts. She raised her head up and looked me straight in the eyes. I saw her lips mouth my name, then her eyes fluttered shut again and she dropped her head back, moaning "Oh yesssssssss..." All at once she bounded up from her lying position, threw her arms around my neck and locked lips with me, still moaning on every exhale of breath. We sat up entwined with each other, bobbing our bodies up and down. After keeping her tongue held inside my mouth for at least a minute, her mouth slid smoothly off to the side onto my cheek. She continued kissing the side of my face, running her mouth further and further along, ultimately taking my earlobe in her teeth. I began doing similarly with her, applying my lips to the side of her face, bringing my kisses further and further down her, coming down to her neck. Within a few more seconds we both came almost together, and—I don't really need to tell you what I did next, do I? Didn't think so. With her orgasm coursing through her, Alicia's hot, tasty blood pumped heavily into my mouth for a few seconds or so before my eyes snapped open as I realized what I was doing. I instantly released her, and she collapsed onto the bed, seemingly oblivious to the two little wounds in her neck. I hurriedly began gathering up my clothes. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" began pouring from me. She gave me a look that seemed to say "For what?" but for some reason she didn't bother asking me out loud. As I hurriedly dressed myself I continued "I'm sorry, I... I have to go." "V-Vincent, what... what's wrong?" She still lay crashed out on the bed. She looked like she was trying to raise herself up when she said that but couldn't. Her voice sounded rather weak, too. "I'm sorry, I just gotta go," I said again and hurried out the door, not bothering to pick up the notes that were mine. I ran out, down the stairs and out the door into the early evening air and started running back to my own dorm building. In mid-stride, I realized the place I wanted to be wasn't my dorm room. I didn't know where Larry was or when he would be returning if he was out, but in any case he was the last person I wanted to be with one way or another. I quickly chose a different location, one that didn't require me to change directions at all. Also one that no human could get to without a ladder. As I ran closer to the dorm building, I suddenly leapt into the air. I think I made it three stories up before grabbing onto the sill of a window, and I proceeded using the windows to quickly climb up the building to the roof. I don't doubt a few people happened to look out their windows and for a brief flash saw someone climbing up the building, but at the time I couldn't have cared less. The charade was over. Trying to pretend I was still human had almost cost Alicia her life. I needed a few minutes alone to deal with that, and where better to be alone than the roof of the dorm building. I didn't stop to wonder if anyone was watching me, but as nobody started crowding around the building with cops carrying megaphones trying to get me down, I'm assuming anyone who happened to witness this little stunt just regarded it as the result of having smoked one too many joints. I sat there, in a spot that was never meant for anybody to sit, as thoughts whirled through my head. I suddenly remembered the woman from last night. You know, the one I killed. I could see her empty, lifeless face staring into nothingness, because of me. Because I was thirsty, and she happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. What scared me the most was how I felt about it. I felt sorry for the poor lady, but I didn't feel plagued by guilt. I needed to feed, and she was the first source of sustenance I came across, so what happened just happened. What did that mean? Was I just a monster now? Was I just going to kill whoever happened to cross my path when I felt thirsty? "Oh, don't be that way, it's really not so bad." I didn't even need to turn around. "Hi, Elizabeth." She took a seat next to me. I didn't bother looking at her. "I told you last night, it's okay to be scared at first. You'll learn to like it, trust me." "Why, Elizabeth? Why did you do this to me? And please, don't tell me it was because I was perfect." "I saw a spark in you, Vincent. I saw the person you were, and the kind of vampire you'd make. I knew I wanted to have you with me." Now I turned my head to look at her. "Well I have people in my life too, you know! Or I should say I did, because I just made a snack of one of them!" She looked at me solemnly, then broke eye contact as she began thinking of her next words. "I was twelve years old. My big brother was away on a camping trip with his friends, and he'd been gone a few days longer than he should have been. My parents kept trying to call him; they got no answer. Then finally he came home, saying something had happened to him to change him forever. He invited me into his room later that night, told me he wanted to share this experience with his little sister. Then he made me what I am today. He turned our parents, too. We were a newly-made family of vampires." She paused a moment in her story, as if trying to summon the courage to continue. "I was a kid, Vincent, a twelve-year-old girl with a newfound need for blood. Within a week, I'd killed three of my friends. I isolated myself from the rest of them in order to protect them from me. So don't think I don't know what you're going through." "Thanks, but that doesn't really help me right now." I let my head hang. "I feel so alone..." Elizabeth put a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at her again, into her luminous golden eyes and luscious smile. She began to stand up as she said, "Come with me. There's something I need to show you." My curiosity piqued, I humored her and stood up, following her to the edge of the roof. Without a second thought, we both dropped off the edge and landed squarely on our feet and continued on. She led me inside the dorm building, and on the bottom floor into an alcove where a soda vending machine stood out of view from any of the dorm rooms. Taking a quick look around her, she pushed a few of the selection buttons in a specific order, and the machine slid forward and to the left, uncovering a secret door. She turned to me with a sly, scheming smile. "Come on," she ushered as she proceeded in through the hidden passage. I followed her inside as the machine slid back into place behind me, and went on down a staircase into a place I never knew existed. When we reached the bottom, Elizabeth led me through a long, winding hall, and ultimately stepped up to a steel door at the end and banged the knocker on it. After a few minutes, a slot in the door opened and a voice on the other side said, "The moon shines high..." "...And the blood is sweet," she replied. That said, the slot closed and the door opened. "Hey, Elizabeth!" The sharp-looking black guy on the other side brightened as he saw her face. "Was wondering when you'd come down!" His eyes drifted a moment, as he now noticed me. "New recruit, huh?" Elizabeth turned her smiling gaze in my direction. "Yeah, this is Vincent." The guy reached over to something I couldn't see, and stepped out of the doorway towards me with a small, tube-shaped gadget in his hand. "Gonna have to run a quick test before I let you in, so if you could just stick your finger here please," he said, holding out the little object and gesturing at the flat end. Hesitantly, I reached a hand out and placed the tip of my finger on the end of the device. I recoiled it when I felt a slight pinprick, and the guy took a look at the little gadget. A tiny spot of blood had appeared on the tip of my finger, which I momentarily placed in my mouth. "All clear, Vincent," he smiled at me, and extended a hand to be shaken, which I cautiously accepted. "I'm Edward. Welcome to the SVA." "SVA?" "Come inside," said Elizabeth, "I'll explain." We entered what appeared to be a somewhat spacious lobby, where a few other people, likely students here from the look of them, were standing around chatting. There were a number of doors along the side walls, as well as a single one in the middle of the far wall. Elizabeth led me into one of the doors on our right, which led into what looked like some kind of bar/lounge, or rec room. There was a bar along one wall where people sat drinking, as well as a number of circular tables where others sat snacking and talking. There were about four pool tables in the room, and a widescreen TV in the corner that was showing a football game at the moment. There looked to be a total of about twenty or thirty people down there. "This is the SVA, Vincent. Student Vampire Association." I looked at Elizabeth dumbfounded. "Are you telling me what I think you're telling me?" "I'm telling you that every single person down here is a vampire." I took another good look around the room. "You're kidding me! And they're all students here?" "Vampires are entitled to a decent education too, you know." I wasn't really sure what to think. All this time I'd been attending this school, concerning myself with little more than my studies, never once suspecting that there were vampires on campus. It was incredible. Suddenly I noticed Elizabeth looking at me again. I looked back into her golden eyes as she smiled at me and said, "Still feel alone?" I assumed the question was rhetorical. She turned and stepped up to the bar. Simply because I didn't know what else to do, I followed her. That was when I noticed the drink racks behind the bartender. They didn't look like they had liquor on them. The bottles were red. And the light shining on them was like that of an incubator; I could feel some of the heat from where I was. Each of the bottles was labeled with a particular blood type: A+, B-, you get the idea. "Hey, Nigel!" Elizabeth called. The bartender turned, smiled, and stepped over to her. "Hey, Elizabeth, the usual?" Elizabeth shot a glance at me and said, "Two of 'em. One for the new guy." Nigel nodded, and turned to the left rack and removed a bottle labeled AB+. He produced two five-inch glasses and proceeded to fill them with the thick red fluid before sliding them over to us. Elizabeth eagerly picked hers up; I picked up mine with slightly less enthusiasm. She raised her glass with a wink at me, and we both downed them. I won't lie to you and say the stuff didn't hit the spot. Young Blood Ch. 02 "Welcome aboard, buddy," said Nigel. "Where does all this stuff come from?" I asked as I lowered the glass from my mouth. "Not all blood banks send their shipments to hospitals, you know," said Nigel with a cocked eyebrow. "We actually own some of them." "Hey, Nigel," said Elizabeth as she brought her empty glass down, "is Patrick in the office?" "Last I saw him, that's where he was going." "Who's Patrick?" I asked. "Patrick's our leader," said Elizabeth, "and I need to take you to him to get you registered, Vincent." I set my glass down and shrugged. "Okay..." "C'mon," she said, taking me by the hand and leading me back out into the lobby. We came shortly to one door labeled "office" in the same wall a little closer to the entrance. Elizabeth knocked a couple times, and opened the door when we heard "It's open." The guy whom I presumed was Patrick stood in another doorway in the corner of the room. He had dark, shoulder length hair and a pair of commanding brown eyes set into his strong face. He wore a suit that mostly seemed to be made of dark blue silk, with an open-collared dark green shirt. He smiled as Elizabeth entered. "Elizabeth! And who's this?" I decided to step forward for once. "Hi, I'm Vincent." "Brand new youngblood, Patrick," Elizabeth beamed. Patrick stepped forward to shake my hand. "Welcome to the SVA, Vincent." He moved to the desk in the middle of the room and opened a binder which he turned to me. He handed me a blue pen and gestured to the open page. "I need you to sign in here, please." I looked down at the page, and proceeded to place my signature on the first blank space, followed by my dorm room number. Patrick then gestured for me to take a seat, and proceeded to break down the need-to-knows, such as the combination for the secret entrances, which there was one of in every building on campus, and the password I'd heard Elizabeth exchange with Edward at the door. "You're welcome down here any time, day or night; there will always be at least a few of us down here, I can almost guarantee it. We have tunnels running all under the school, so you may get to any building safely without worrying about sun exposure." I chuckled for a moment. "Gee, I wish I'd known that this afternoon. Would've saved me a whole lot of discomfort." "At any one time," Patrick continued, "there are around fifty or sixty of us on campus; many of us choose to room down here, as a matter of fact. We have a few additional rooms down here for those of us who'd rather room with their own kind. We try to avoid direct contact with humans as much as possible." "Except when we get hungry, right?" I joked cryptically. "You must understand," said Patrick, "the fewer humans who know we exist, the better. Most of the humans out there who do know about us are hunting us. We try to keep a low profile, and we expect you to do likewise." As I nodded my understanding, I heard a sultry feminine voice suddenly speak up from the adjacent room through the door in the corner. "Hey Patrick, that sounds like the speech you give new youngbloods, am I wrong?" A stunning young woman stepped out through the open doorway and looked at me. "Ooh, and a cute one too!" If this were a movie, I think this would be the part where you would start hearing the saxophones playing. She had wavy, shimmering brown hair and a pair of narrow, haunting dark eyes. She had a tantalizing hourglass-shaped figure, and judging by the short, skintight red dress she wore, she was quite proud of it. Throwing most of the motion into her hips, she began slowly striding towards me and supported her weight against the desk when she got close. "Hi there," she said sensuously to me. "I'm Tanya." "Uh, hi. I'm Vincent." She leaned in close to me, a mischievous smile playing across her narrow lips. "Baby, I don't care if your name's Nancy. You're coming with me." With that she stood up straight and began walking past me. I looked up at her incredulously. "I am? Why is that?" She leaned down to me and began stroking the side of her finger across my cheek. "Because Sugarqueen Tanya said so. You're not gonna tell me that's not good enough for you, are you?" "You might as well," said Elizabeth. "Tanya's not one to take 'no' for an answer." I shrugged sheepishly and stood up and followed Tanya out the door. She led me out into the lobby and through that door in the middle of the far wall, which led into a hallway lined with numbered doors, much like the dorms. She led me to one particular door and ushered me in first. It looked more or less like another dorm room, except with only one bed, although it did look big enough for more than one user. She used a knob to turn on the lights just barely as she shut the door behind her. She just looked at me. "Don't worry," she said as she slowly, sensuously strode towards me, "you'll get your whole 'welcome to the group' thing from me too, but first, there's one thing I require all new guys down here to do before they become official members." "Yeah? What's that?" The swelling inside my pants was telling me I probably already knew the answer. She grabbed me by the hair on the back of my head and said, "Me." With that she shoved my face down onto hers and vigorously attacked my mouth. She pulled me off a moment later, smiled and said, "Not bad." In a single, swift motion, faster than I'd ever seen anyone do, she whipped her hand down and unfastened my pants. She dropped to her knees and pulled my drawers down, releasing my throbbing member which she immediately took hold of. She paused a moment, admiring the thing in her hand. "Beautiful!" she declared before wrapping her lips around it. She jerked her head about on it, and used her tongue hungrily on the tip. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find that she was enjoying this particular act more than I was. When she finally popped off of it, she smiled and said, "Mmm, yummy." She stood up, reached behind her, and in a moment her dress was on the floor, leaving her dressed solely in her red high heels. She instantly yanked the shirt off of me, and placed a hand on my head and pushed me down onto my knees. "Now show Sugarqueen T what you can do!" she ordered. I can't say I wasn't obliged to consent, since her clean-shaven crotch was smelling real good. The single second I hesitated, however, seemed too long for her, because a second later she barked "Eat me! Now!" I wasted no more time and dove in, my tongue going readily to work. "Oh, there's a good boy," she moaned. The fingers she had on my head curled, digging into my hair. "Oh yeah, good boy!" I heard her moan through her teeth a few times as I continued to service her, and she kept repeating, "Good boy... good boy..." She grunted hard once as a sudden flow of juices greeted me. She pulled me up to my feet by my shoulders, then turned and tossed me down on the bed. She crawled up on top of me, looked down at me and said, "I hope you've been eating your kibbles 'n' bits my pretty puppy, 'cause Tanya's gonna make you bark!" With a long, slow breath, she lowered herself onto me and began bucking her hips like she was riding a running horse. This bore utterly no resemblance to the passionate lovemaking I'd enjoyed with Elizabeth; Tanya was more interested in just pure simple fucking. If I recall correctly, I do think she was making good on her declaration, because I do think I heard quite a few grunts coming from my own mouth as her hips thrashed up and down on me. Of course, I was making nowhere near as much noise as she was. She was looking down at me with her wild eyes and growling like an angry lion. Now try to paint this picture if you will please: I've got a girl on top of me, riding me like there's no tomorrow, and she's making noises like a wild animal. I'm sure many of you guys out there have had a girl or two like that, but then you add to the fact that this girl had fangs, which were exposed very clearly while she was growling like an animal... you get the idea. "Oh yeah, baby!" she roared. "You like that? Is Tanya good to you?" She slapped the side of my face on that last part, so I was certainly in no hurry to answer in the affirmative. I wasn't in any real hurry to answer in the negative either, because I had to admit, Tanya kind of scared me. Essentially that means I didn't say anything right away, which rather peeved her I think, because she slapped me again and barked, "Huh? What do you say? Is Tanya fucking good to you?" "Yes," I said weakly, afraid to give any other answer. She came hard for about the third time or so I think, which finally pushed me to the brink. "Oh, shit..." I moaned. She took my meaning and hopped off of me, bringing her face down to my crotch and wrapping her hand around my shaft, which she began pumping for all she was worth. ...Okay, it occurs to me now I shouldn't have put it like that, since Tanya isn't really worth a whole lot if you ask me. Anyway, within a few short seconds, my fountain erupted and bathed her eager face in dripping white goo. "Ahhh, yeah..." she sighed, grinning widely, showing off her pointy teeth. She squeezed me up and down and started lapping away the last few vestiges of cum. When I was clean, and she was filthy, she finally stood up and walked over to a counter where a box of tissues lay. "Not bad," she shrugged. Not bad? That was it? "Anyway," she continued as she proceeded to wipe herself off, "welcome aboard, uh... what was your name? Victor?" I looked at her with not a little bit of spite. "It's Vincent." "Mm, close enough," she shrugged. I scowled and instantly began gathering up my clothes. As soon as my pants were on, bullshit started pouring from my mouth in form of: "Well, I've had a lovely evening, hope we can do this again sometime. You'll have to excuse me if I don't call." That last part I actually meant. "Sure, okay," was all I got. Not that I was expecting nor hoping for much more. I got dressed quickly and headed out the door in a hurry. Once the door shut behind me, I noticed Elizabeth leaning her back against the wall waiting for me. "She done with you?" "Thankfully," I muttered. I'd seen Elizabeth give me lots of smiles, but the one I got from her just then was a completely new one. "You know, Vincent, I'm impressed!" That was pretty much what that new smile was telling me. "Why's that?" We began walking back into the lobby again as she continued; "Because I've seen plenty of new guys get dragged into Tanya's room before, but not many of them come out looking like you do right now." "Yeah, what do most of them look like?" "Like they just scored with Uma Thurman or something." I scoffed. "Let me tell you something, Elizabeth: Tanya is no Uma Thurman." Elizabeth laughed. "Try telling that to her!" "Well somebody ought to!" "Ooh, heavens no, don't do that," she warned, her smile instantly fading. I gave her a curious look, to which she responded, "It's not that I don't agree with you; Tanya's a manipulative bitch if I ever saw one, but... well, just that. She's a manipulative bitch. You try to tell her she's not the hottest thing since the creation of fire, she'll find some way to get revenge, I guarantee you." I shrugged, and submissively agreed. We hung around the rec room for a couple more hours. I made a few friends that night, and gradually began to feel more at home among these people as I periodically moved from joining in on some video gaming, and playing a few rounds of pool; three, I think to be more precise. Twice Elizabeth whipped me; the third time I won, but it was against someone else altogether. For a while, I was even able to forget that this was a convention of blood-sucking creatures of the night. At last, though, it got to the point where I was having trouble keeping my eyes open, and decided I needed to return to my dorm room. Somehow, I found at that particular time I felt more at peace than I had in a long time. I never would have said it out loud, but I'd never really been especially happy in my life as a human. I mean, let's think about it: my parents split up after my dad found out about my mom's affair with the muscle-head from the coffee shop; though why my dad never expected her to cheat on him is beyond me. Most of my memories of my dad involve a drunken, useless lump on the couch wasting away in front of a football game. Somewhere along the lines of their separation, I ended up more-or-less forgotten, left to build up my own funds towards college, which is a task I am ecstatic that I don't have to repeat. If I had to wait one more table I probably would have given up on my pursuit of an education and just let myself become the guy driving the garbage truck or something. What was it I wanted to do that was so important that I go to college? Hell, beats me! I was a ship sailing through treacherous waters with absolutely no destination. Maybe this was why Elizabeth picked me. She must have seen that I'd be happier this way. I don't know why I felt so much more at ease now, but I knew that if I was destined to spend eternity as a vampire, it might not turn out to be so bad. I hadn't bothered to check the clock when I left the lower levels, but I knew as soon as I entered my dorm room that I'd been out really late. How did I know that, you ask? Because the second I opened the door I was greeted with the sound of Larry's snoring. Larry was in bed before me! Larry was never in bed before me! I really was a creature of the night now! For a moment I began to worry as to how this was going to affect my studies, but my mouth opening for a great yawn quickly dispelled any of those thoughts as I shut the door behind me and plopped down on my bed. It was a little past noon when I woke up the next morn... err, afternoon. And wouldn't you know, Larry was already up. He was the one playing around with the PS2 this time around, and had his back towards me. "Mornin', Larry," I said. "Or whatever time it is." Larry turned his head around and gave me a little smirk. "Hey, you're alive!" he jibed. "How late were you out last night, anyway?" I shrugged my shoulders. "Later than you, I can tell you that much." "Have you finally gotten into the party spirit Vince?" Larry smiled, turning back to his game. "You found your own crowd to go crazy with?" "You could say that." For a moment I began contemplating what I should do next. I thought that I should probably get on with my studying. A vampire I may have been, but having a pair of fangs made me no less a student here. As Elizabeth said last night, vampires are entitled to a decent education too. At any rate, I thought I should at least try to make up for the extensive lack of studying that took place last night with... Alicia! I'd nearly forgotten about her. I momentarily forgot all about homework and decided I'd better check on her. I instantly reached for the phone and dialed her room. The phone rang three-and-a-half times before it was picked up, and I didn't hear a voice right away. After a second or two, the weary sound of "H-hello?" came to my ear. "Alicia! It's Vincent!" I think I actually heard her smile on the other side. "Vincent, I was hoping you'd call today." "Really? What for?" "You left in such a hurry last night, we really didn't get a chance to say anything." "What did you want to say?" There was silence for a moment. "Heck, now that you mention it, I don't even know!" She laughed at herself. This was the pattern of our relationship. We always wanted to say something to each other, but we didn't always know what. "You know, come to think of it, I think I left my notes in your room. Could I stop by and pick them up? And then maybe we could talk some more?" "Didn't your roommate give you your notes? I sent Julie to return them to you a little earlier, and she said she gave them to your roommate to give to you so they should be there." I turned my attention away from the phone. "Uh, Larry?" "Wassup, Vince?" "Did you get any papers for me today?" "Oh yeah, I put 'em with your notebooks and all." "Okay, thanks Larry." I put the receiver back to my mouth. "Yeah, never mind." "You're welcome," Alicia said. "Just out of curiosity," I asked her, "why did you send Julie instead of delivering my notes yourself?" "Well, I'm kind of sick today. I mean, sitting up enough to answer the phone was hard enough, but anyone who's expecting me to actually get out of bed today is in for a major disappointment." "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." "Yeah... I'm glad you called, Vincent, but I think I need to let you go now. I'm seriously thinking about passing out again in a minute, so be a sweetheart and come by and wake me when it's time to graduate, okay?" I smiled lightly. "I'll be sure to do that. Sweet dreams!" I hung up, feeling a bit more comfortable than I had a moment ago. At least I knew Alicia hadn't gone the same way as the young woman I met the other night. That felt good. The rest of the day was nothing out of the ordinary, except that I never bothered to leave my dorm room. I went on studying and working on a few class projects, stopping after a while to get brunch out of the fridge, and when I felt I'd worked myself long enough, I resigned to the video games which Larry had ultimately gotten up from to go out and, well, have some fun. To just be Larry I guess. Nothing special. It was getting close to eight o'clock. It was getting dark out now, which meant I was a little more free than I had been before. Still, I remained inside, flopped on my bed with my hands behind my head. I just felt like relaxing for a while, before I went out to maybe hang out with some of my new friends at the SVA. I knew those lower levels of the school were going to become a frequent hangout for me. Aside from the lounge there were plenty of other things to do down there. There was a movie room, a pool, a ballroom especially set aside for the occasional rave... The phone rang. I answered. "Hello?" "Vincent? It's Alicia." She sounded terrible. I don't mean physically, though. She sounded scared. "Alicia, what is it?" "I need you. I need to see you now." "What's wrong?" "Please, just come here. I'm scared, Vincent. I need you. Please." She hung up. For a moment, I was simply perplexed. I got up to go see her, of course, but was actively wondering what could have frightened her so much. Last I checked in on her, she was sick and didn't feel up to moving, but was otherwise fine. I decided it was understandable that she would be feeling weak after I drained her last night. After all, after Elizabeth bit me I was— I froze. All at once I put two and two together, and the result leapt in my face and hit me like a sledgehammer. Elizabeth bit me, I spent most of the following day sick in bed, and when I got up that night, I was a vampire. I bit Alicia, she spent most of the following day sick in bed... I think you know where I'm going with this. I ran. I was suddenly in a much bigger hurry than I had been a moment ago. I ran out of my dorm building and into hers. I ran up to her door and screeched to a halt. I was about to bang on the door, when I noticed it was open a crack. "Alicia?" I called. No answer. I could, however, hear the sound of the shower going inside. Slowly, carefully, I began inching the door open and stepped inside. I took one look and knew the whole story. Julie lay sprawled across her bed with her legs hanging over the side, her eyes open wide in a fixed expression of shock, and streams of blood trickling from two tiny wounds in her neck. Slowly, I turned my head towards the bathroom, where I heard the sound of the shower going. I cautiously began moving through the open door and into the steam-filled room. Alicia's clothes lay strewn about the floor, and the shower curtain was closed, but it didn't sound like anyone was moving in there. I carefully stepped up, and said, "Alicia?" Young Blood Ch. 02 For a moment there was nothing. Then, "What's happened to me?" I hung my head. "I'm so sorry. I never meant to do this to you." I heard some shuffling, like someone standing up who had been seated, and the curtain opened. Alicia stood before me in her wet, glistening nudity, her mouth open for me to see her two elongated teeth, still red with Julie's blood. I'd never seen this kind of fear in her eyes. She reached a hand out to my mouth and pulled my lips away, allowing her to get a look at my teeth. When she saw what she was looking for, she let her hand drop and sighed. "I don't believe this..." "I know. I didn't either." She looked me straight in the eyes. "You're a vampire, aren't you?" I shrugged, still looking at her apologetically. "So are you, now." "All this time I've known you," she said, "were you just waiting to get close enough to me so you could kill me, and, and suck my blood?" "No, no, I swear! I was only bitten three nights ago!" We just stared at each other, eye to eye. "And I didn't plan to bite you. It just sort of happened. I'm so sorry..." She slumped down and seated herself in the corner, bring her knees in close to her, letting the water beat down on her hair. "Are you going to be okay?" I asked her. She looked up at me. Whether those were tears I saw or just drops of water I couldn't tell. "I just killed my roommate. I sucked her blood. Yeah, everything's fine." She paused a moment, took a breath, and said, "Vincent... would you come in here please?" I looked at her a moment, not entirely sure I'd heard her right. "What?" "You heard me." I shrugged and nodded. I stepped back, stripped down, and stepped inside and knelt down to meet her eyes. "Look, I know this is difficult, but we're gonna..." She wasn't interested in talking, as she made clear to me when she stopped my lips from moving by pressing her own onto them. Her hands gripped tight around the base of my neck as she pulled off of me. "I probably should be hating you now. I don't. I just want your hands on me." I smiled, and obliged her. Our lips met again as I embraced her, and I felt one of her hands reaching down to my crotch, which as you can imagine was more than ready for her. She took hold of my shaft, and slowly, diligently mounted herself on it. We sat up together, rocking back and forth, as I stared into her lively blue eyes, and saw her staring back. My arms slipped tighter around her as she threw her head back and let out a loud groan. I leaned heavily against the cushion of her breasts as the rush of water pelted my back, and tenderly kissed her neck. I felt her lips on my own neck all of a sudden. Then I felt her teeth. On a spur of the moment, I pulled my own lips back. As we continued moving, and I sunk in and out of her, I tasted blood pulsing into my mouth. But this was different from before; I wasn't feeding off of her. I was merely tasting her. And I realized then that she was doing the same to me. I pulled off of her then and sighed, not having swallowed a whole lot. She looked at me then, her mouth open, allowing me to see her red mouth. Our lips joined again, our tongues dancing passionately with each other. We each tasted our own blood mixed with the other's, which only served to excite us further. We began rocking harder, and faster, until at last, we came almost together, both of us unlocking our mouths with a loud, satiated sigh. Alicia collapsed onto me, as I fell back and leaned against the shower wall. The water continued run erotically down our bodies, taking something else with it. A spiral of red encircled the drain. "Well," said Alicia, "what now?" To Be Continued... Young Blood Ch. 03 Things kind of smoothed over for a while over the next few weeks. I adjusted rather quickly to a life of drinking blood and staying up late. Shortly after Alicia was turned, I introduced her to the SVA as well. As time went by, I became less and less sorry about what I had done to her; it began to feel like this was meant to happen. She and I were closer now than we ever had been. Well, in some ways at least. She quickly grew to be friends with Elizabeth, too, which also worked well for me. In fact, it was not long before Alicia, suddenly without a roommate, accepted Elizabeth's offer to room with her down in the lower levels. For a while I was worried Alicia was going to get in trouble with the cops when Julie was missed, but as it turned out the situation blew over fairly quickly, considering Patrick has a few contacts in the police force. Let's just say some cops work the night shift because the alternative would be overly hazardous, if you know what I mean. You ever watch the show Forever Knight? It's kinda like that. We started hanging out as a trio a lot, but we were far from an exclusive group; Elizabeth was already pretty popular down there, and Alicia and I were quickly making names for ourselves too. The more time went by, the more I came to feel like everything was as it should be. Of course, if that was where the story ended, I wouldn't have even begun telling it in the first place. Like I was saying, things began to approach a level that remotely resembled normal, with nothing really important happening, until one day I was just sitting in my dorm room cramming for a test when the door opened and Larry barged in. It was about a quarter past seven if I recall correctly. Ordinarily Larry entering the room would be nothing special, but today he had something to show me. "Hey, Vince! You want to meet her? She's here!" I looked up at him. "Who?" I hoped Larry wasn't sharp enough to pick up my underlying subtext of "This had better be pretty goddamn important." "My girlfriend!" he exclaimed. Oh yeah, that was right, Larry did have a girlfriend. Well I mean, at least one. He never really talked about her much; he'd never even mentioned her name. My understanding was that in Larry's eyes, a girl was a girl. As little as I could picture him actually going out with somebody, it became apparent now that he wanted me to meet her. "Oh, sure, okay," I said, lowering my head back to my notes. For a moment or two, I continued skimming my notes, then looked up as another person entered the room. And then I saw her. I saw this petite-looking girl with light brown hair cut short at the neck and a pair of big blue eyes. And she saw me. And neither of us were moving. "Michelle, this is Vincent," said Larry. "Vince, this is my girlfriend Michelle." "Yeah," I breathed, "hi." "Hi," she said back. Silence. "Um, why don't I go grab some drinks or something?" suggested Larry. "I'll be back in a minute; you two just stay and get to know each other or somethin', okay?" Larry took off, leaving just the two of us there. Michelle took a step forward and shut the door behind her. "Hi, Vincent." "Hi, Michelle." For a moment, that was all we said. "I..." she started to say. "I missed you." She sounded like she wasn't sure if that was the right thing to say. "Yeah... me too. Been a long time, like three years now, isn't it?" "Yeah... long time..." Yes, for those of you wondering, I did actually know this girl. For a moment we said nothing more. Then all of a sudden, "What are you doing here?" burst out from me. "What?" "Well, I thought the fact that you were going to [college name] on the other side of the country was kind of the basis for our break-up." She shrugged. "Well... I transferred." I raised an eyebrow at her. "You transferred? And you didn't bother letting me know we were suddenly at the same school? And the only reason I find out at all is because you happen to be dating the slob who calls himself my roommate? Something about that seems a little off to me!" She shrugged again, more apologetically this time. "Well, Larry's not such a bad guy..." I glowered at her. "That's not the point, Michelle!" I paused a moment. "Well okay, on a certain level it is, but I think you're missing the big picture here." She was about to say something else when the door opened and Larry stepped inside with three beer cans. "All right, drinks all around!" he hollered, tossing me a can. I caught the can, and tossed it back to him saying, "Why don't you just have two, Larry. I'm really not that thirsty right now." That was a half-truth. I was beginning to get pretty thirsty, but in the other kind of way. Larry shrugged, and ushered Michelle away. "C'mon Michelle, let's go." Michelle turned to look at me with her big, perpetually sad eyes which always spoke greater depths than words. Right now all they were saying was "bye," but in the past I'd seen her say so much more with those eyes. As soon as they were gone I stood up, laying my notes aside, ran my hands through my hair and stepped out of the dorm room. A glass or two of blood always helped me to unwind, and right then I was in need of some unwinding. I wandered into that alcove with the soda machine, punched in the combination and headed down the stairs when the secret door opened. I made my way through the underground halls and knocked on the steel door when I came to it. The slot opened and a pair of eyes looked at me. "The moon shines high..." "...and the blood is sweet." The door opened and I stepped inside. "Thomas, couldn't you just look and see it was me?" I asked the guy whose shift it was. "You know what I look like, don't you?" He shrugged. "Procedure, Vincent. Procedure. I don't know who Patrick thinks is going to come down here wearing a Vincent mask, but that's what we're supposed to do." I smiled and shrugged back at him, and continued into the rec room. I seated myself at the bar and whistled for Nigel. He turned and glided smoothly over to me. "Hey, Vincent. What'll it be?" "B+. I think we can call that my usual now." "You got it!" As you may have guessed, different blood types have slightly different tastes. It's like A is Coke and B is Pepsi, just to pluck an example from thin air. It's a little different, but just to give you an idea. Which would make AB a combination of the two. O would be more like Red Bull. And then there's the positive/negative part; it's like A- is diet Coke and A+ is regular, you get the idea. Anyway... Nigel poured the blood and slid the glass over to me. I lifted the glass, put the edge to my lips and threw my head back so that the bottom of the glass pointed to the ceiling. About five, or maybe ten, seconds later I brought the empty glass down onto the bar. I gently pushed the glass in Nigel's direction and said, "Hit me again, would you?" Nigel looked at me wide-eyed. "Wow, what side of the bed did you get up on, anyway?" he asked as he poured me another glass. "I don't know. Whichever side lead me to find out my roommate is dating my high-school sweetheart." I downed another glass. "Keep 'em coming, please." Nigel made a face and poured me another glass. "That's gotta bite. So were you planning on sticking around for the dance?" I looked up at him suddenly. "Dance?" I thought for a moment. "Oh yeah, now I remember." A quick look around the room and through the open door into the lobby indicated that there were quite a few more people down here than usual. I realized they were waiting for the doors to the ballroom to open and the revelry to begin. I had seen one of these already since I'd been turned; we held these dances every couple of weeks, courtesy of Tanya. I, of course, had little interest in anything that had to do with Tanya, so I hadn't planned on attending. "No, I don't think so, really." "Aww, por que no?" a feminine voice behind me said. I turned and recognized a saucy Asian girl I knew as Vanessa. "Don't have a date? Don't worry, there's still plenty of fish in the sea." She gestured her head in the direction of the very well-built guy she had her hand looped into the arm of. "And as you can see, I've caught myself a whopper!" A quick look at the face of the muscular guy with her told me I didn't know him. "You're new, aren't you?" "Yeah, been in just three days. Name's Jonathan," he said, extending a hand that I accepted. "Hi, I'm Vincent." I turned a my eyes toward Vanessa. "You bring him in?" "No, he was just in the right place at the right time for me to fall into his lap." The way she looked at him with those raised eyebrows almost shouted "Literally." "Well, Jonathan, all I can say is good luck, hope you can handle her." It was no secret that Vanessa was probably one of the kinkiest girls in the SVA. "By the way, just out of curiosity, who did bring you in?" "Oh, Tanya." I sighed with a light smile and rolled my eyes. "Of course." Let me tell you a little bit about Tanya. It was a well known fact that the number of new young bloods Tanya brought in rivaled that of the entire rest of the SVA. Tanya was a pureborn, meaning she was born a vampire. The fact that she was never human herself could have accounted for the fact that she displayed utterly no respect for humanity. Her logic was: one more vampire; one less human; the world is a better place. She was ever proud to be born a member of the "superior" race. "You still didn't answer her question, Vincent," said another voice to my left, one which I recognized right away. "Hey, Alicia." A moment of awkward silence struck. Yes, we still hadn't gotten past that. We'd both been turned into creatures of the night and had made love twice, and still our relationship had yet to move out of that awkward stage. I was beginning to wonder if we were ever going to move out of it. I mean, we didn't always talk like this; we'd had plenty of open conversations over the past several weeks; just the particular subject matter brought us back to that. "So why aren't you going to the dance anyway?" Alicia said at last. "Yeah," said Vanessa, "if you need a date, I'd think your prime candidate is standing right in front of you..." a mischievous grin crossed her cute, cheeky features. "...unless you're waiting for Elizabeth to show up?" Ah, yes, Elizabeth. There was no denying that she did further complicate things between me and Alicia. I wasn't really sure whether Elizabeth was interested in commitment or in just playing around. She had certainly succeeded in roping me into bed from time to time since the last chapter, which was more than Alicia and I had done. "It's not that I don't have anyone to go with," I said. "I just don't want to go." Vanessa made a pouting face. "You don't like to dance?" "It's not the party I don't like, it's just who's throwing it." Jonathan shrugged and gave a half-hearted grin. "Hey, Tanya's not that bad..." It didn't take a degree in psychology to see that he wasn't basing his opinion of her on her sparkling personality. "She just kind of rubs me the wrong way." Before anyone could make any smart-ass responses to that, I quickly added, "And I mean that strictly metaphorically." I couldn't help but smile at Vanessa's obvious disappointment at having her witty remark halted. "Why don't you just forget about Tanya and just try to have some fun?" Alicia smiled. "You wouldn't want me to get lonely, would you?" I sighed and shrugged. "Well, I guess I might put in an appearance." Alicia did a little schoolgirl giggle and threw her arms around my shoulders. We had a little time to kill before the event started, so the four of us decided to try out a few games of pool to pass the time. It started to bore me a little after a while, considering Alicia isn't half as good at pool as Elizabeth is, so I was practically mopping the floor with her. Vanessa didn't present much challenge either, but that was mostly as a result of lack of spirit; she just wasn't that interested. Jonathan, on the other hand, was the competitor who kept the clock turning. It wasn't long before we noticed the crowd occupying the rec room starting to thin. Following a quick glance at the clock, I took a peek outside into the lobby and where at least 90% of the SVA was gathered outside the doors of the ballroom. Yes, young vampires aren't too different from other college kids in that we also love to party. Vanessa, not surprisingly, instantly leapt to join the crowd, pulling Jonathan along with her. I wasn't in any particular hurry, but when I noticed Alicia had also vacated the rec room, as well as just about everyone else, I decided I might as well be another sheep in the flock. I didn't bother keeping track of how long we were standing out there; I've found that having a watch to repeatedly check when you're waiting for something only makes it come that much slower. But ultimately the doors did swing open, and there she stood in her skintight blue leather dress. "And now, ladies and I-hope-not-so-gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for! The doors to Sugarqueen T's celebration of existence are open, so step inside now and think of ways to thank me later!" Tanya's philosophy of life was that it was all one big party, which greatly reflected the way she talked, moved, dressed... anyway... Well, I'd be lying if I said I didn't ultimately start to enjoy myself. I was a little slow about it at first, but Alicia kept urging me out onto the floor. The music wasn't that bad, and after a while I just let go and allowed myself to have fun. Now here's the funny part: the whole time the heavy stuff was playing, Alicia and I were never more than three feet apart. Then the point came when the music slowed down; you know, that "grab your special someone" part of the dance. Alicia and I exchanged an awkward glance; we both knew we ought to, but we still felt a little awkward around each other on the subject. We started to turn away from each other to go to the tables and sit down, when somebody pushed me back towards her. We suddenly found ourselves in each other's arms. I saw Vanessa standing behind her and realized she had been pushed too, and when I looked behind me I saw Jonathan standing there giving me a big grin and a raised thumb. We stood giving each other awkward little looks in our awkward little position, she cracked an awkward little smile and we began our awkward little movements. There was really nothing else we could do. I mean, sure, we could have just disengaged from each other and gone to the tables and sat down, we just didn't seem to be able to. Then something happened. We just let go. No, I don't mean we let go of each other. We just fell into each others embrace, her head came to rest on my shoulder, and we just kept moving. Everything around us disappeared. The ballroom, gone. The people, gone. The music, gone. We made our own music, and that was what we danced to. It was moments like these that allowed me to forget we were no longer human. A hard pat on my back suddenly pulled me out of the clouds, and it was only then that I realized the slow music had stopped. I turned and saw Jonathan standing there with a wide-eyed smirk on his face. "Are you sure the two of you aren't an item? Cause you could've fooled me!" Alicia and I looked at each other for a moment, then stepped away. The moment was over; back to reality. It was going to take more than that to get us in a comfortable place again. "C'mon, Vincent, let's go grab a couple of drinks," Jonathan offered. I shrugged, and proceeded to follow him over to the keg of bleer. What is bleer, you ask? Bleer is made from blood and alcohol mixed with some other carbonated substances that I'm not exactly clear on; in other words, vampire booze. You'd actually be surprised and the different kinds of drinks you can make with some blood and alcohol. You can nourish your vampiric needs and get wasted at the same time! Ain't it great? Vanessa was standing there waiting for him, along with her friend Rachel. Rachel was a tough-looking cookie with curly red hair, and from what I'd heard she and Vanessa typically shared almost everything. Including boys. Vanessa handed a cup to me and Jonathan, then extended another behind me. I turned around to see Alicia shake her head at the offer. "Thanks, I'm good," she said. "Hey listen," said Vanessa, "we're thinking about going to the back room, you two care to come too?" "The back room?" That was both me and Alicia saying that. "You don't know about the back room?" Rachel said. "Well there's only been one other dance since I've been in the SVA, and I didn't actually attend it myself," I pointed out. "Yeah, neither did I," said Alicia. Vanessa smiled mischievously. "Well trust me, as soon as you step behind the curtain, you'll get the idea." "Yeah," added Jonathan, "I've only been down here a few days, but Vanessa has been gracious enough to tell me aaaaallllllll about it." He extended both elbows outward; Vanessa promptly hooked her arm onto his left side, while Rachel moved to take his right. "Follow, if you so choose," Vanessa said in her most sultry voice. "We're going to go have a VERY good time." As they turned and walked off, Alicia and I exchanged a glance. It certainly couldn't be denied that curiosity had the best of both of us. So of course, we proceeded to follow them, up a small set of steps along the side of the stage and past the back curtain. Now, Vanessa had said we'd get the idea as soon as we stepped behind the curtain, but when a doorway stood before us with another curtain across it, I began to wonder which one she meant. Of course we couldn't see anything that was going on in that room from where we were at that particular moment, but the world of sound can be just as, if not more, descriptive. I heard voices. Lots of voices. There was grunting. Lots of happy grunting. And many voices, most of them female, saying things like "Oh, fuck yeah!" or "Oh my fucking God!" I noticed, before the three of them disappeared behind the curtain, that Rachel was already beginning to untie the big knot that was keeping her green silk halter-top around her. Carefully I stepped forward, pulled back the curtain, and took a peek inside. I always thought this kind of thing only existed in porno movies. Clothes lay strewn all about the corners of the room, while their owners were tangled in various forms of humping. There had to be at least ten or twelve people involved in this no-holds-barred orgy, to which three were now added. The room looked like it was especially made for this; the floor was like one giant blue cushion with a few short sunken circles with pillows in them here and there, and the ceiling was all one giant mirror. In the center of the room was a short cushioned pedestal that was more than wide enough to accommodate a few people, and atop that pedestal, being serviced by three cock-ready guys, was Tanya. She sat straddling one guy, while another stood on either side of her. She held each of those two guys by the base of their shafts and alternated giving them oral service. She paused in her sucking for a moment long enough to shout, "C'mon, louder people! Sound like you're actually glad to be here!" Now, of course, came the inevitable choice: in or out? I think I've made it pretty clear to all of you by now that I DON'T like Tanya; more importantly, were Alicia and I ready to do this again yet? I didn't think so. I turned my eyes towards Alicia; she wasn't even looking past the curtain. I guess one look had been all she needed. She was standing off to the side of the doorway with her back against the wall. She looked like her head was churning like mad. I struggled to find something to say to her, and ultimately all that came out was, "Alicia?" Young Blood Ch. 03 All at once she burst into tears and bolted. "Alicia, wait!" I ran after her, past the stage curtain and back into the ballroom. She had already disappeared from my view. I was about to start searching for her, when suddenly a hand grabbed my by the collar and pulled me behind the bigger curtain again. The next thing I knew, someone had me in a serious lip-lock, and I didn't have to wait until she disengaged to know who. I knew it was her long before I had a chance to open my eyes and see her shimmering black locks and sparkling golden eyes. Call it a vampire's intuition. Not something to be underestimated, trust me. "Elizabeth, can't you think of a more subtle way to get my attention?" "More subtle, yes. More fun, no." As always, her smile was to die for. "Now don't tell me you weren't wondering where I've been all evening?" "That's true," I added, "it did seem very un-Elizabeth-like for you to not be all over me during the dance." "But waiting for the prime moment to pounce on you isn't," she pointed out. I shrugged, and nodded. "True." "Listen," she said, "I think Alicia wants to be alone right now, so we should probably let her." She leaned in closer, looking at me eye-to-eye. "Although, I for one wouldn't mind keeping you around to entertain me." I raised an eyebrow, and turned a questioning eye toward the curtain of Tanya's love chamber, but she shook her head. "I've got something better in mind," she smiled. "C'mon!" She took me by the hand and led me along, out of the ballroom and into the lobby. She took me towards another door a little closer to the entrance, which of course I knew exactly where it led to. "The pool?" I asked as we entered. She said nothing. The poolroom was empty; apparently everyone was too busy dancing. Her eyes said all she needed to: we had the room all to ourselves. Without a word, she undid the zipper on the side of her short, strapless black dress, and swiftly discarded her one and only garment before leaping into the water. She let out a breath of air as her head breached the surface of the water, and just looked at me with those luscious eyes of hers. "Well? You don't want me to get lonely here, do you?" I never could say no to Elizabeth. Off went my clothes and I hopped into the pool. She began swimming over to me, saying "I know you and Alicia still have some things to work through. You just need to give her some time. Doesn't mean you need to be lonely while you wait." With that, her arms curled around my neck and her lips enveloped my mouth, her tongue probing viciously. Almost against my will—almost—my arms curled around her midsection, pulling her in tighter, mashing her tits against me. Suddenly her legs leapt up and wrapped around my waist, and before I even knew it, she had me inside her without even bothering to guide me in at all. It all happened in a flash. I wonder if she actually meant to do that, to pierce herself without even using her hands. What am I talking about, of course she did! She's Elizabeth! I suddenly felt my feet touch the floor of the pool. She had wrapped herself around me such that it was almost as if she were trying to envelop me completely, and by throwing all of her weight onto me had caused me to drift into a slightly more shallow area. I quickly took advantage of the newfound support to plow hard into her, which snapped her into releasing my lips. Her head and eyes both rolled backwards and her mouth dropped open as a low moan of delight escaped from her. She lowered her head again as I began thrusting in and out, and looked me straight in the eyes. She just loved looking me straight in the eyes. And I have to say, the feeling was pretty damn mutual. Those golden eyes of hers had yet to lose any of that hypnotic charm they had when I saw her for the first time. She just looked at me, her breathing coming fast and loud, and smiled. I couldn't help but smile back at her. Nobody ever enthralled me the way she did. Her arms loosened their grip around me, and she began leaning back until her tits emerged completely from the water. Her arms extended full length while she still held tight to my shoulders, she began bucking up and down wildly. My lower section took on a life of its own and went at her like crazy. Her mouth hung open wide, as if waiting for something on the ceiling to fall in, and let loose with grunt after ecstatic grunt. We were churning up waves like mad, and I knew she was going to drive me to shoot off fast. Or she would've if she'd kept this up. But Elizabeth's smarter than that. Before I realized what was happening, the slick vice that was holding my shaft disappeared. Elizabeth now floated a little farther from me, grinning mischievously, before vanishing beneath the water. I did my best to follow the blur of black hair that traveled under the water, but I realized I'd lost her somewhere along the way when she suddenly popped up behind me and threw her arms around my neck. The warm cushion of her breasts pressed against my back as her lips neared my ear and whispered "Don't want to blow it all too fast, now do we?" The next thing I knew she aggressively yanked me down under the water and disappeared again. When I regained my balance, I brought my head above water, took a breath and shook the hair out of my eyes and looked around. "Elizabeth? Where'd you go?" She suddenly appeared over at the deep end of the pool. "Come and get me!" she called before slipping down again. Spurred on, I eagerly began swimming in the direction I saw her. I never had exactly been much of an expert swimmer, and had certainly never done so much completely submerged like she was doing. Of course, the last time I took a decent dip was pre-vampire, so I decided to give it a try now. I took a breath and slipped down beneath the surface. I think I lasted about five seconds before coming up for air. I heard a giggle from somewhere as I surfaced again, but when I looked around I still couldn't find Elizabeth. Of course, I was soon to realize that Elizabeth was the kind of girl who could only be found when she wanted to be. Mere moments later, I felt her grab me. And I mean she grabbed me down there. I looked down in time to see the black blob of her hair as it moved in towards my crotch, just as I began feeling her lips and tongue. My rod was quickly enveloped in a warm, wet vacuum that began moving. My mouth hung open as if it had just fallen off its hinges, and when I looked down again all I could see was a floating mass of black strands of hair waving back and forth. My head hung back, and my hands reached down to take hold of her head. I felt the curve of her scalp briefly, but just then both it and the wet vacuum around my dick disappeared. I snapped to attention in a flash. What was she playing now? Suddenly I spotted her over at the edge of the water with her hand holding onto the side of the pool. "I get the feeling you want to get on with things," she gently cooed. She crooked a finger, beckoning me to come to her. Of course, I wasn't about to let her down. I began eagerly swimming over to her. Her body faced towards the side of the pool while her head turned to look at me, and as soon as I drew near enough she took hold of the side of my face with her free hand and brought me to her hungry lips. I placed a hand on each of her hips and carefully guided myself to her waiting treasure down below; she took the hand she had on my face away and used it take hold of me and pull me inside. Her mouth, which had been actively moving against mine just a moment ago, suddenly froze open. My right hand joined hers on the edge, while my left arm wrapped around her midsection as I began driving into her. Her face tilted towards the ceiling, and all I could see in front of me was a dripping black silky curtain of hair. Let me ask you something: how many of you have ever done it in an indoor pool before? I mean the echo you get in there! The way her moans were resonating was to die for! I began assaulting her snatch as fast as the water would allow. I felt her cheek brush against my face, and impulsively I ran my tongue across it. I saw her crack a smile, and she craned her neck back to give me a little lick of her own. All at once her body went stiff, her voice went up an octave and her pussy convulsed on me. She buckled excitedly for a moment in the throes of orgasm, and I knew I wasn't going to be far behind her. Apparently, she knew it too, because as soon as she was through spasming, she removed my arm from around her midsection and hopped up out of the pool. "C'mon, don't keep me waiting," she smiled, seating herself on the floor. I grinned, and hopped out after her. She lay on her back and pulled her cleavage open. "Right here!" she grinned. I needed no more explanation. I promptly seated myself on her gut as she pressed her tits together around my hunk of meat. The head of my shaft popped in and out from between those two globes. "Oh, yeah," she moaned, "come on, I want it all fucking over me!" I think it only took me about three or four seconds before a series of long white streams sprayed out over her face. I rolled off to the side and lay on my back next to her for a moment. After a minute or two, she got up and walked over to the shower stalls to clean herself up and dry off. "Hey, Elizabeth," I called after her. She turned her goo-covered face to me in response. "Can you talk to Alicia for me please?" "What do you want me to say?" I shrugged. "You can probably figure that out better than I can." She smiled. This was her sweet kind of smile. "Of course." *** Two rather uneventful days passed. I was lounging on my bed doing and thinking nothing in particular. It was a little after seven, the sun was just going down, and Larry of course was out doing whatever it is drunken louts do in their free time. I snapped out of doing nothing when the door was knocked upon, and opened it to inspect my visitor. It was Michelle. "Hi Vincent. Is Larry here?" she asked me. I frowned. "No." Please assume crash positions. "Good. Can I come in?" "Umm, sure..." "Thank you." She stepped past me and I hesitantly closed the door behind her. "I actually wanted to talk to you, without Larry present." I looked at her suspiciously. "What can you say to me that you can't say to him?" "I haven't told him, you know. About us, I mean." "What is this 'us' you speak of?" I said snidely. She rolled her eyes. "You know what I mean, Vincent. He still doesn't know we used to date. We should probably keep it that way, don't you think?" "Sure, sure, no argument here. Are we done now?" If I was starting to sound like an asshole, I assure you it was no fault of my own. At least that's what I tell myself all the time. Needless to say, she seemed annoyed with me. "Are you still mad at me?" "Yes, I'm still mad at you! You knew I was going to be attending this school when we broke up, you knew I was here when you transferred, and you didn't say a word to me, and instead started dating a slob like Larry!" Her head hung as if in shame. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. I just figured you'd probably moved on by now, and I should probably do the same. I just thought I should expand my horizons." "And you expanded them in Larry's direction? You of all people?" She shrugged. "I'm a nice girl, aren't I? I've heard nice girls can be attracted to bad boys." "I guess so, but I didn't realize nice girls could be attracted to Larry, and I definitely didn't realize you could be attracted to Larry. I always thought busty bimbos who'll do it with any guy they meet were more his type." She paused, as if unsure what to say next. I began to wonder what kind of effect that last comment I made was having on her; I did have to consider I was speaking to my first... you know. She wandered over to my bed and sat down. "Look, this isn't about Larry. I thought you'd be happy to see me, Vincent, I really did. I'm sorry if I was wrong about that." I didn't really know what to say. My eyes just kind of wandered, searching for nothing but words to use... I suddenly realized it was right there, staring me in the face. No, I'm not referring to what words I wanted to say. I'm talking about her neck. There it was, all bare and exposed, full of healthy human blood... I promptly shook those thoughts away, and out of necessity, finally said something. "Just let me ask you something, Michelle. Did you really miss me?" "Of course I did!" "No, for real, Michelle. I want the honest truth. Did you really miss me? Did you miss being with me?" She just looked at me. I wasn't sure why. For a moment, neither of us said anything. Ultimately it was not us, but the telephone that broke the silence. When I ignored the first ring, she asked, "Aren't you going to answer that?" I frowned, and begrudgingly turned and picked up the phone. "Hello?" "Vincent, it's Alicia." "Oh, hey." "Listen, I just thought I should remind you about the meeting Patrick's called. You have been known to flake about things like that." I suddenly remembered that Patrick had in fact posted a memo recently about an SVA meeting in the ballroom for tonight that was scheduled in about twenty-five minutes. "Oh yeah, that." "You were going to forget about it, weren't you?" I didn't say anything, although of course she was right. "Anyway, can you make it?" I took another look at Michelle, who was just idly sitting there, looking at nothing in particular. "I don't see why not." "Great! See you in a bit." I hung up, and turned back to Michelle as she turned back to me. "You should probably go now," I said to her. She sighed, and stood up and headed for the door. She opened the door, but paused before going through it and turned her head to me. "I did, you know." "What?" "Miss you. I really did." And she left. I lay on my bed for a while, once again doing nothing, but that wasn't to say I wasn't thinking. I was busy contemplating the women I had in my life. First there was Elizabeth, a wild and beauteous creature of nature possessing an irresistible charm that she wasn't afraid to use, particularly on me, but then again, she only considered the stuff we did together as playing. Nothing serious. Then there was Alicia, with whom I'd shared a mutual attraction for a long time, but recent events had put any kind romance we might have on hold for a while. And now, Michelle had reentered my life. I couldn't deny that I was still attracted to her, and considering the fact that my relationship with Alicia had moved back to the friend zone and was having trouble moving past it, there might be possibilities there. Then again, there might not. I couldn't forget that she was technically involved with Larry, which in itself I found just disgusting. I also couldn't forget that she was still human. I didn't want to do to her what I did to Alicia. I ultimately spared a glance at the clock and saw that I had been kicking back for nearly twenty minutes, so I decided I ought to get down to the SVA and see what Patrick wanted to talk to us about. I got up and headed on down, and made my way to the ballroom which had been set up for a large group meeting. Lots and lots of chairs had been set up, most of which were occupied by now. My eyes were drawn to a waving hand, which belonged to Alicia summoning me over to where she and Elizabeth were sitting. I made my way over and sat down next to Alicia. "Good to see you actually listened to me," Alicia grinned. "What's that supposed to mean?" "She means," Elizabeth said, "that she was expecting you to flake on this meeting anyway. We all know you're not the type who likes to sit and listen to people talking." "Yeah, nothing against you, Vincent." I shrugged. "Well, hey, I'm not that flaky." I paused. "Am I?" The girls exchanged a glance and a snicker, which of course piqued my curiosity. "What?" "Well, to be honest," said Alicia, "there's actually another reason we wanted you down here tonight." "And that is?" "Patience now," Elizabeth mused, "patience. It shall be revealed to you at the proper time." I raised a suspicious eyebrow, but decided against asking any more questions. Instead I merely took a look around, just for the sake of doing so. At that moment, however, I began to realize something. I was seeing a lot of new faces around here. As I took a more in-depth look at the crowd gathered here, it started to look like our numbers had almost doubled since I entered the SVA. And it didn't take a degree in rocket science to figure out who we had to thank for that; after all, she was sitting right there, in her special seat of honor off to the side of the stage, leisurely taking a drag on her cigarette. Yeah, you know who. I began to wonder if Tanya wasn't getting a little out of control. Heck, I began to wonder if Tanya even knew the meaning of the word "control." The murmuring crowd finally began to fall silent as Patrick stepped out onto the stage and up to the mic. Patrick had that kind of presence that made people want to shut up and listen to him. "Good evening everyone," he said into the mic, his commanding voice echoing through the ballroom. "I've asked you here tonight in an attempt to encourage all of you to action. I look around the room, and I see a lot of new faces here. I know that many of you are young bloods who have only been brought in within the last few days. In many ways I am happy to see this; it always brings a smile to my face when I see a new young blood admitted to our world. But I also must ask; why is Tanya the only one bringing all of you in?" I was beginning to seriously dislike the direction he was taking. "For centuries, the vampire race has lived hiding in the shadows of humans to protect ourselves. Why? Because the humans are so much more numerous than we are. That is the only advantage they have over us. But how much longer must we continue to hide in the shadows of a weaker species? The more of us there are, the greater our chances of survival." I frowned. I took a glance at Alicia and Elizabeth, and saw that they were pretty much thinking the same thing I was. Patrick was referring to humans in such a way as I had never thought of them: as enemies. "I, as well as many others," Patrick continued, "have grown restless in waiting for that golden day when the vampire is the dominant race on this world. If we wish to see that day, we must work to make it happen, and we can start with this school. Tanya has succeeded in doubling our numbers here in a matter of weeks. If all of you do a little, there can be twice as many of us in a single week! Before long, we could completely transform this school!" "He can't be serious!" Alicia breathed. "That's not Patrick talking up there," said Elizabeth. Alicia and I wheeled our heads in her direction, and saw where her eyes were pointed. She was looking directly at Tanya, sitting cross-legged in her private little seat, a cigarette between her fingers, and a proud grin on her face. Suddenly I realized that Tanya most certainly did have the word "control" in her vocabulary. She was exhibiting total control over Patrick. "So get out there, and show others the wonders of our world! Those of you who have just joined us, share what you have been given with your friends out there who are still bound to the human world! In time, we will be able to come out of this basement and truly live in the real world. Our world! You can be the ones to make that golden day for the vampire race arrive at last!" Dozens of people began applauding and cheering. A few didn't. The three of us were among the few. "Now, our staff has prepared some refreshments for us in the rec room and media room. I want all of you to enjoy yourselves tonight, and tomorrow, I hope to see more of us here! Thank you!" More cheers and applause. Most of the crowd stood up from their seats to applaud. I merely sat in mute disbelief. When I looked around, I was glad to see that the three of us weren't the only ones who didn't think very highly of Patrick's new plan, but we still seemed to be left outnumbered. Young Blood Ch. 03 People began filing out of the ballroom. I still hadn't moved from my seat. I watched as Patrick moved to go offstage, which led him in Tanya's direction. Tanya had just finished putting out her cigarette and rose from her seat with that proud grin still pasted to her face. She took Patrick's arm and gave him a little peck on the cheek and walked off with him. "That bitch," I heard Elizabeth mutter. "I always knew Tanya was a manipulative little slut, but I never thought she'd go this far." "You really think he's doing this for Tanya?" Alicia asked. "Well, I know Patrick's a pureborn," Elizabeth said, "and I know he's never thought all that highly of humans, but he's never been the type to take such a radical stance against them. Tanya, on the other hand, thinks humans are good for nothing but food." "So she's grabbed a hold of Patrick's strings and she's pulling them," I commented. "Yes, in a kinky little Tanya sort of way." I needed no explanation as to what she meant by that. As we stood up and headed out the door, Alicia suggested, "Maybe we should try talking to Patrick about this?" "Well no offense," said Elizabeth, "but I don't think Patrick takes the opinions of new young bloods very seriously." "But he might take you seriously," I said to her. "I mean, you've been a vampire since you were a kid, so he's probably more likely to listen to you." Alicia and I both looked at her; she shrugged. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to try." "In the meantime, though," I added, "didn't you say there was something else you wanted me down here for?" A wicked smile cracked its way into both their faces. "By Golly, you're right!" Alicia exclaimed. "We would've forgotten all about that!" Elizabeth scoffed. "Maybe you would have. Not me." "So what is it anyway?" The two of them exchanged a mischievous glance, and each of them suddenly grabbed one of my arms. "Come with us, Vincent," Elizabeth mused. "You're going to love it." I wasn't sure whether to be excited or worried. They led me to the end of the lobby into the hall of the SVA dorms, and into their room. There didn't appear to be anything special there; no big surprise waiting for me or any special set up. Instead, all they did was carry me toward the computer chair which happened to be facing toward the bed. "Sit!" commanded Elizabeth. Unsure, I took a seat and looked up at them. "What is this?" In a flash, both of them crossed their arms and yanked their tops over their heads. "This," Elizabeth announced, "is our little attempt to entertain you." With that, the two of them turned to each other and pressed themselves together, tits mashing into each other, engaging in a tender lip-lock. "Are we succeeding?" Alicia briefly broke the kiss to ask. "I'll let you know when I see more," I mused. "You're learning," Elizabeth smiled, before clamping back down on Alicia's lips. Her hand reached behind Alicia's head and undid her ponytail, letting her dirty-blonde hair come cascading down. Alicia responded in turn, only with something a little more extreme: she unzipped Elizabeth's miniskirt and let it pool around her feet, leaving Elizabeth dressed solely in her sandals. She was quick to lose those too. Alicia, still wearing her flip-flops and her cut-off denim shorts, took hold of Elizabeth's sides and maneuvered her over to the bed, where Elizabeth took a seat. Alicia began running wet kisses down her neck to her right tit, and began moving her lips and tongue in circles over the nipple. Elizabeth happily shut her eyes and placed a hand on the back of Alicia's head. Alicia gave the left nipple a quick flick with her tongue before continuing down. Elizabeth brought her knees up and placed her feet upon the bed as Alicia neared her crotch, and when she finally hit the you-know-where Elizabeth rolled her head back and moaned loudly. One hand supported her weight while the other held tight onto the back of Alicia's head as Elizabeth writhed about where she sat, making as much noise as I'd ever heard her make. I don't think I'd even realized until then that my cock had emerged from my pants and was in my hand. It was like my hand had a mind of its own. Not that I was about to argue with it, of course. When Elizabeth began to thrash, Alicia removed her mouth from her southern point and moved back up to her lips. Their tongues danced together and they put their hands around each other again as Elizabeth lay back on the bed. With Alicia kneeling on all fours above her, Elizabeth reached up and slowly peeled off Alicia's shorts, exposing her beautiful bare ass to me. She didn't hold it in my view for long, though, as Alicia rotated herself around, bringing her face into a hovering position above Elizabeth's treasure, and her own treasure hovering above Elizabeth's face. Then she lowered herself down. If I had stepped out of the room I still would have heard them breathing. Elizabeth's hips squirmed up and down on the bed. Alicia's breathing wavered and her body shook like a vibrator. Elizabeth finally let go with a long moan, and Alicia soon followed with some happy little whines. I could hear Elizabeth growing gradually more excited by the minute, when suddenly her head dropped back on the bed, mouth wide open, eyes tight shut, wailing as if under torture. But having her mouth removed from Alicia's pussy didn't stop her from continuing her part; her hand crept up as she lay there and her fingers began probing Alicia wildly. Alicia grunted her approval, disengaging for just the briefest moment before continuing her oral service. "Oh God, don't stop!" Elizabeth breathed. "Oh my God! Oh God!" Her breath froze for a heartbeat, and then she let loose with a glass-shattering cry. Alicia turned back around above her, bringing them back into another hungry lip-lock as the two girls rolled onto their sides in each other's embrace. "Are you having fun, Elizabeth?" Alicia coyly asked. "Hell yes," Elizabeth grinned. "But there's one thing that could make this even better." "What's that?" "If only we had a cock here." She tossed a mischievous look at me, and at the stiff thing growing out of my pants. "Like that one over there!" "Hey Vincent," Alicia commanded, "bring your nice big juicy cock over here!" Hearing Alicia say things like that made me wonder if my load would last the time it took to walk over to them. As soon as I was within reach from the bed they rose up, Alicia walked across the bed on her knees and grabbed the bottom of my shirt, while Elizabeth put her feet to the floor and lowered herself down to attend to my pants. Naturally, Elizabeth was the first one in position to attend to their new "toy" as soon as my clothes were gone, and she took hold of it and plunged it into her mouth with the kind of fervor that only Elizabeth has. She twisted her head around on it, while Alicia reached out and began stroking the base of it. Now, as you can imagine, watching those two girls all that time had gotten me really worked up, so releasing the oncoming tide wasn't going to take much doing. And what they were doing now was all it took to cause me to pop. "Oh shit," I grunted, before pumping Elizabeth's mouth full of goop. She smiled, and gulped it all down, licking up that which dribbled out of her mouth. "Uh-oh," said Alicia, "did he blow his wad already?" "Yeah, that'll never do," Elizabeth shook her head. "Let's see what we can do to fix that, shall we?" Alicia smiled, and hopped down off the bed and got down on her knees in front of me. Elizabeth, still holding my rod that had just started to deflate, pointed it over to Alicia, who wrapped her lips around it without even bothering to grab it first. Her head bobbed back and forth like she were engulfing a popsicle, and already I could feel the blood rushing back into my shaft for a little more. Alicia slowed her head movements after a moment, and began getting more active with her tongue. When Elizabeth leaned over and licked the side of the shaft, Alicia slid her lips off the head and began running along the side with her tongue, allowing Elizabeth to do likewise on her side. I sighed with a smile, and put a hand on each girl's head, running my fingers through their hair. Alicia briefly looked up at me, but Elizabeth remained diligently focused on what she was doing. A sudden idea hit me, and I yanked my cock back without warning, and suddenly they were making out with each other again before they even realized it. They both looked up at me and laughed. "I already got off," Elizabeth said as they arose and climbed back onto the bed, "so you get him first." "Works for me," Alicia grinned. She rotated around and positioned herself on her hands and knees, her backyard pointing towards me. She patted herself on the ass cheek twice and said, "Come over here, you." I eagerly got onto the bed and crawled over to her, took hold of her rump and slid my way into her. "Oh, yeah!" Elizabeth grinned. "Ohhh, yeah!" Alicia groaned. And off I went, pounding my way into her. Elizabeth constantly cheered me on: "Oh yeah, fuck her! Come on, fuck her pussy! Yeah!" "Oh God!" Alicia moaned. "That feel good? Is he fucking you good? Do you like that?" "Oh yeah! I like that! It feels good... OH FUCK, IT FEELS SO GOOD!" I'm positive she had to be cumming at the moment she screamed like that. I had been with Alicia twice before (which of course, you should already be aware of), but I certainly didn't recall her sounding like this; so loud, or so dirty. Alicia suddenly bolted upright, her ass still thrust back to accept me into her, but her upper body vertical and her arms reaching behind her to embrace my neck. On impulse, I pulled her hair to the side and bit into her at the base of her neck and shoulder. She gasped, and went stiff for a moment, until I released her. Elizabeth seized the opportunity and leaned over to make out with me, allowing her to get a little taste of Alicia's blood. Elizabeth suddenly maneuvered in front of Alicia, drew a fingernail across the top of her bust, and smeared some of her own blood over her tits. When Elizabeth placed a hand on the back of Alicia's head, Alicia leaned forward and began lapping up the glistening red fluid off of her sumptuous globes. (I know this part I'm describing must seem a little freaky to you, but amongst vampires, biting each other and sharing each other's blood is considered to be extremely sensual. The pain doesn't really bother us, either; one of the little perks about being a vampire is that you can heal really fast.) I decided to pull out of Alicia now and spread out on my back. "Elizabeth, why don't you come over here now," I mused. She responded in the typical Elizabeth kind of way and hopped over to where I lay, mounted my crotch like a saddle, and slowly impaled herself upon me. "Oh, yeah, this is a good cock," she mused as she rode back and forth upon it. Alicia knelt over me from above my head, mouth open wide, and our tongues did a quick little tango. She leaned a little farther forward then, allowing my eager lips access to her tempting tits. Slowly she continued inching forward, my mouth working on whatever part of her happened to be above me at the time, until her clit found me and she raised herself up straight. She moaned out her delight, and I heard a giggle escape between Elizabeth's happy grunts. I couldn't exactly see very well what was happening above me, but I'm pretty sure I know the sound of two girls making out when I hear it. Shortly after I both felt and heard Elizabeth come to a roaring climax, I could tell I was just on that brink again myself. "Oh golly, here it comes," I grunted all of a sudden, taking hold of Elizabeth's hips, stopping her motions. They both took the hint and got off me as I stood up straight on the bed. They knelt upright beneath me, mouths wide open, tongues hanging out as I jerked myself like mad. And then it came, spraying all across them, dribbling down their faces and off the tips of their fangs, into their giggling mouths. I collapsed in a heap on the bed as they proceeded to lick each other clean. When they were finished with each other, they lay down themselves, one of them curled up on each side of me. Lying there, in the warm, naked embrace of two gorgeous girls, this was a vacation if I'd ever seen one. I could've died happy right then. "Hey, Vincent," Alicia whispered, "about what I said about needing some time to get things straight?" "Yeah?" "I'm officially done now." To be continued... Young Blood Ch. 04 "You're saying you don't have any stance on it at all?" Nigel shrugged. "Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't care about humans, I just don't have much of an opinion of them." I didn't see how there was much of a difference, but I didn't say anything. He continued, "I guess it's just cause I've never met any living humans is all." "You're a pureborn?" I said as I set my empty glass down. "Yeah, that's right. And I've been feeding from a glass since the cradle. Never bit a neck in my life. Sure I've seen them, I haven't spent my whole life underground, I just never took the time to get up close and personal with a human." "So you don't have anything against them." "Yeah, I just don't have any fluffy bunny feelings for them either." I sighed. This was going nowhere. "Look, Nigel, you can't have no opinion here! This is a big deal! We're talking about the futures of everyone in this school, and possibly beyond, so you gotta have a stance on it!" I realized as I heard myself saying all that that I had never been quite so forceful before. The look on Nigel's normally happy-go-lucky face was tip-off enough anyway. "Oh, come on, do you have to be such a drama queen?" said a voice to my left. I made a little sound that was somewhere between a laugh and a sigh, and turned my head. "Elizabeth, can't you just say 'hi,' like everybody else?" She leaned closer, a wicked smile playing across her ruby-red lips. "Do you ever ask if I can't just wear lingerie? That's another thing I don't do, but you've never brought that up." I slowly turned my eyes toward Nigel, who appeared to be sizing me up all of a sudden, while simultaneously giving me an affirming nod before going back to serving other people. "You have no shame, do you?" I said. Elizabeth laughed. "By the way," I added, "Have you talked to Patrick?" Her smile faded. "Yeah," she sighed. "How'd it go?" I asked, unable to shake the feeling that I'd just asked a really stupid question. "I'm beginning to the think trying to teach Tanya the concept of modesty would be easier." I raised an eyebrow at her. "And since when do you know anything about modesty?" She paused. "Okay, you got me there," she laughed. "But anyway, maybe talking to Patrick about this isn't exactly the way to go." "What do you mean?" I asked. "What should we be doing?" She raised one eyebrow along with one corner of her mouth. "Exactly what you're already doing. You're going around asking everyone about their opinion of Patrick's new position." "Don't you mean Tanya's new position?" She scoffed. "Hey, in Tanya's case, there's nothing new about it. She's always felt this way about humans; she's only gone this far now. I mean, Patrick's our leader because he looks like one. He's big and in charge and people are naturally inclined to quiet down when he walks into a room. Doesn't mean he's not a bowl of Jell-O in the presence of Tanya's seduction." "And you think me simply going around talking to people is going turn them against Tanya?" "I think it's starting to work." I stopped all motion for a moment. "What do you mean?" "I've spoken to people down here who used to be staunch supporters of Tanya's program until they talked to you. Believe it or not, you are proving to be something of an influence amongst the SVA! You're Tanya's major political opponent! You're a leader!" I said nothing. I was a little preoccupied with the fact that I could feel the walls and the floor falling away as she said this. Was it really possible for me to be that important? Was I capable of making that much of a difference? Not long ago, I would have considered any such notion an indication of insanity. I've always been a generally passive person, who takes things as they come and doesn't try to change much. Now I was actually influencing the decisions people made? The world suddenly came rushing back to me as I heard, "Which would be why you find me standing here." A sick expression became fixed onto my face as I turned around and found her standing there. Yeah, you know who. "Hi, Tanya," I groaned. She glared down at me, her hands resting on her hips. "Hello, Vincent," she purred. For a moment I said nothing, just stared at her in mute surprise. "What?" she said. "I'm just a little surprised that you actually remember my name," I said. She scoffed lightheartedly. "Please, everyone here knows who you are, Vincent. Our resident human-lover." I gave her a nasty glare. "You make that sound derogatory." "Vincent," Elizabeth put in, "you should know by now that any sentence Tanya says that has the word 'human' in it is going to be derogatory." "Look Vincent," Tanya plied, "I understand you're a young blood, and that it's natural to still feel an attachment to humans when you used to be one. But the fact is you're not anymore, and it's about time you realized that." "Oh really?" I challenged, arising from my stool. "What are you going to do?" "Vincent, you might want to be careful," Elizabeth warned, sounding just the slightest bit panicky. And when Elizabeth gets panicky, generally speaking, not good. "At the moment, Vincent," Tanya said, "you're what I call the enemy. I don't like that. Having enemies is not something I consider fun." "No, you prefer having boy-toys and bitches," I sneered. She continued, unfazed; "I want us to be friends, Vincent." I kept the impulse to wretch bottled up. "And I think I know just the way to do that." With that she produced a small red plastic card and slapped it into my hand. I took a look at it; it didn't seem to have anything on it but a fancy little 'T' on one side, and my name on the other. "What's this?" About this time Alicia decided to show up. "What's going on here?" she demanded, her full attention focused on Tanya. Tanya wasted no time in shoving a card into her hand too, to which she gave the same response I did. "This," Tanya grinned, "is your personal invitation to my private party on Friday." "Don't you mean your private orgy?" said Elizabeth. Tanya shrugged. "Call it whatever you want?" "Waitaminute," said Alicia, "you mean that thing you had going in the back room at the dance? There's no dance on Friday..." "Who said anything about a dance?" said Tanya. "I have one of these every Friday. The dances are just an extra day for it, when I let in anybody who wants to. My weekly parties are exclusive guest list, and the little cards you're holding now are what puts you on it. I'm asking the three of you to be there this week." "Um," Alicia said, "shouldn't Elizabeth..." "Already got one." Both of us whirled our heads in Elizabeth's direction. She shrugged and said, "I've had mine for a long time now. I used to go to these things all the time before I met you, Vincent." "Yeah, and we've missed her," Tanya shook her head. "Don't think for a second I don't know what you're trying to do," I warned. She raised an eyebrow with a smirk. "Oh, really?" "You think you can seduce me into your way of thinking. That if I play your game, you'll find some way to make me 'see the light.'" "I'm honestly just trying to be diplomatic in my own special kind of way," she shrugged. As if. "And I'm not forcing you to go to anything you don't want to. I'll leave the decision making to you from this point, and I hope you'll decide to come see the Sugarqueen this Friday." With that she went off past me as she blew me a kiss and said, "Later, stud." "So..." Alicia managed, "we, we're not gonna, you know... go to this thing are we?" "Hell no," I firmly said. "Well," said Elizabeth, "I'd kinda like to go." Both of us turned to look at her again. "Did you really used to go to these things all the time?" Alicia asked. "You better believe I did." "I thought you hated Tanya as much as I do," I said to her. "Oh, I do!" she confirmed. "She has a mugshot in the dictionary under the word 'bitch.' The point is just to not concern yourself with who's throwing the party and just have a good time. And that's what I'd like to do." "Well if you want to go, then go," I shrugged. "You don't need our permission." "Except I'm not interested in going without you guys," she said honestly. "Like I said, all the times I used to go was before I met you. Don't you understand why I turned you in the first place Vincent?" I said nothing. "So you're only interested in going to this... crazy orgy party if we go too?" Alicia said. "That's the general idea. Look, the two of you are the most important things in my life right now, and doing this without you would be kind of on the empty side." For a moment, I could only stare at her. I'd never heard this kind of sensitivity from Elizabeth about her own feelings before. I always just knew her as a girl who liked to have fun. "So if you're really serious about not going, then I won't go either," she continued. Finally her familiar wildness began creeping back into her voice as she said, "But I'm really kinda hoping you'll change your minds here, 'cause I'd really love to go have some fun." Alicia and I exchanged an uncertain look. We said nothing. "Anyway," Elizabeth added, arising from the stool she sat on, "you guys just let me know when you make up your minds. I'm going to go unwind in the tub." As she left, Alicia and I looked at each other again. "Well," she said hesitantly, "what do you think? Should we go?" "Uhhh..." was all I gave her. "I think maybe we should," she quickly put in. "I know we're still not officially together yet, but that doesn't mean we can't just play. I mean, you do that with Elizabeth all the time, right?" I shrugged. "Well that's true..." Her look soured. "I mean, it's not like we're ever going to do anything more than just play." "Now that's harsh." I suppose I should fill you in at this point: You may recall Alicia saying before that she was ready to take our relationship to the next level. The fact was, I wasn't. I still had some other issues to work through. Like Michelle, or... well, Michelle mostly. I kept trying to tell myself that Michelle and I were a thing of the past, yet that didn't change the way the atmosphere seemed to change whenever she and I were in the same room. Her eyes were always fixed on me, never on Larry. I knew she and I couldn't possibly happen again, but just having her there was enough to complicate matters. And I knew Alicia was getting tired of waiting for me. After another moment's hesitation, I finally said, "Well, I guess I've got no more reason not to." She smiled. "Great!" she beamed, and leaned in to give me a peck on the cheek. "I guess I'll go tell Elizabeth right now!" As she turned to leave, I suddenly put in, "You're just going to walk in and tell her while she's getting in the bath?" She turned to me with a sly grin. "Like that's going to bother Elizabeth, who considers clothing to be the most useless invention on Earth. I guarantee, first thing she's going to do when I walk in is ask me to join her." "And what are you going to say?" She narrowed her eyes, still smiling. "Would you like to come and find out?" Getting encouragement like that from Elizabeth is irresistible enough. Getting it from Alicia... Damn! I followed her to her and Elizabeth's room. She put a finger to her lips as she opened the door, and I carefully tiptoed in after her as she shut it behind me. Carefully, quietly, she removed a mirror from the wall next to the bathroom door and pointed to a little peephole that had been concealed underneath. I crept up to it and peered through, obtaining a beautiful view of Elizabeth's slender naked body stepping into the bubbly water. Of course, she had been relaxing for no more than a few seconds before her hand started moving south. She had just started to squirm a little when Alicia entered. Elizabeth didn't even open her eyes. "Mmmm, hello," she moaned. "What's the verdict?" "I guess we're in," Alicia shrugged. "All three of us are going to this... crazy sex party thing." Now Elizabeth's eyes opened, and her smile nearly wrapped around the circumference of her head. "I'm SO happy to hear that," she beamed. "Now I've just got one more thing to ask you." "Will I get in there with you now?" "I was actually going to ask why you still have your clothes on, but you can be simple and to the point if you want." Alicia did her happy little schoolgirl giggle and promptly crossed her arms and removed her tank. No bra, I noticed. I found that rather odd. When did Alicia start going without a bra? Duh, when she started living with Elizabeth! She was just as quick to ditch her shorts, her panties and shoes and mosey over to the tub and take a step in as Elizabeth slowly rose up to get her tongue within reach of Alicia's nipple. Alicia slowly knelt down into the tub and placed her hands on the back of Elizabeth's head as Elizabeth's lips engulfed her right tit. Alicia threw her head back and breathed out hard. Elizabeth kept this up for a minute or two before sliding her mouth over to the other one. Alicia began mewling softly. After another minute or two, Elizabeth began sliding down Alicia's midsection, dragging her tongue along. Alicia responded by raising herself higher again, speeding up Elizabeth's descent, softly moaning all the way. There was a sharp intake of breath as Elizabeth reached her clit. The hand that she didn't still have attached to Elizabeth's cranium shot out and became a support against the wall. Elizabeth reached a hand up and inserted a skilled finger into Alicia's little hole. A soft moan was replaced with a hard grunt. Her finger pumped in and out of her as her tongue moved like a flipper. Alicia's eyes squeezed shut and her teeth clenched briefly before dropping open. "Oh, yes..." she moaned, "...don't stop!" Elizabeth giggled wickedly, never once ceasing what she was doing. "Oh, right there!" Alicia's fingers curled, digging into Elizabeth's scalp. "Oh, yessssss!" Alicia began to squirm, still moaning and grunting like all hell. "Oh god, I'm coming," she squealed at last, nearly doubling over one moment, then suddenly stiffening up the next with a beautiful scream. As Alicia's juices began dribbling down her legs, Elizabeth began to get it with her tongue, but her tactics quickly changed to sinking her teeth into Alicia's juice-drenched inner thigh. Alicia breathed in sharply as she did this. When Elizabeth released her leg she began dabbling a finger in the mixture of juice and blood, and as Alicia lowered herself into the tub, Elizabeth inserted her juiced finger into Alicia's mouth, which she sucked on hungrily. Then came the inevitable exchange of tongues and fondling of tits. All at once Elizabeth stopped. "What's wrong?" Alicia said. Elizabeth shook her head. "It's no good." "What is?" Elizabeth looked at Alicia a moment and held up a friendly finger. "Hold onto that thought for just a minute. I'll be right back." With that she stood up, her naked body all wet and covered in bubbles, and began walking towards... the door. Ulp! As quick as I could, I ducked to the other side of the door so I could hide behind it when it opened. I knew Elizabeth was quite the exhibitionist when she wanted to be, but I wasn't sure how she'd react to being spied on. The door opened, and... her arm snaked around, grabbed me by the collar, and pulled me into a classic Elizabeth lip-lock. "You didn't honestly think I wouldn't know you were there, did you?" was the first thing she said once her lips were free. "Which answer is going to hurt less?" "Whatever, you just get your yummy ass in here right now!" I ended up having very little say in the matter as she pulled me along by my collar into the bathroom and began yanking my clothes off. Alicia was looking up at both of us wide-eyed. "I guess I'm just not content," Elizabeth said, I'm not sure to which one of us, as she pulled my shirt over my head, "to let him just stand by and watch while we have fun. I just have too much heart." As soon as she'd yanked my pants to the floor she gently pushed me along into the tub and climbed in after me. In a flash she was all over me, her lips and tongue going wild against mine while a hand gripped tight my cock, which as you can imagine was already hard enough to break marble. "Hey," whined Alicia, "save some for me!" "Don't worry," Elizabeth grinned as she turned around, pressing her back against me, "I'm just going for a little ride!" With that she lowered herself into my lap, carefully guiding me into her with a long sigh. She began to bounce. Her head tilted back, her raven hair draping over me as she bounced up and down on my lap. My lower section began moving with her, as if it had a life of its own. My arms wrapped around her, kneading her tits like balls of dough. I heard her squeal with delight through clenched teeth. And as with the last time we did this in water, we were churning up ripples like crazy. Her hands clamped onto the sides of the tub, and her squeals began changing to grunts. "Oh, yeah! Oh, god yeah!" Alicia wasn't one to be left out in the cold. She leaned in and reached down to Elizabeth's golden treasure while she clamped her lips onto Elizabeth's open mouth. Elizabeth continued moaning through their locked lips, and didn't stop when Alicia broke it off. I gave her a sly look as I thought of something else she could do, and demonstrated by biting into the base of Elizabeth's shoulder. Elizabeth gasped and went straighter, and I think that actually brought her closer to cumming. Alicia took the hint, and bit into her on the other side. That did it. She went stiff as a statue and screamed like an animal. Her pussy convulsed hard, and mere moments later, the load I had somehow been holding onto all this time finally burst. Elizabeth slid off and turned enough to make out with me while some of her own blood was still on my lips. Alicia leaned in on all fours and began running her tongue up the side of my face. I got the message; she wanted some attention now too. I removed my lips from Elizabeth and moved them to Alicia as Elizabeth reached down to begin pumping some life back into my weapon. I decided to stand up, and make it a little easier to do what they were trying to do now. Alicia was quick to take advantage of the situation and clamp her lips onto the thing in Elizabeth's hand. Elizabeth giggled, and ever Alicia's cheerleader began saying, "Come on, baby, yeah, get him good and hard!" In a matter of seconds I was ready again. Alicia smiled up at me as I pulled out of her and began lowering myself back down. Elizabeth leaned back against the end of the tub, Alicia leaned back against the firm pillow of Elizabeth's chest, and I knelt over her and slowly eased in. Her eyes fluttered shut as she moved in rhythm to my thrusts, while Elizabeth played with Alicia's tits, her luscious smile still pasted to her face. A long, low moan suddenly dragged itself out of Alicia's open mouth. "Come on Vincent, fuck her good! Fuck her! Make her scream!" That didn't prove too hard. I rammed her with all I had, and her head tilted back as it pressed into Elizabeth's chest. Her hand moved over her clit like a vibrator. And what had begun as a few simple low moans had quickly elevated into loud and hard cries. "OH GOD VINCENT, FUCK MEEEEE!" Hearing Alicia become dirty-mouthed never failed to drive me wild. No sooner had Elizabeth's hand reached down to give Alicia' clit some attention, than Alicia became completely unglued. Sandwiched between the two of us, she began to scream and thrash around like wild. Bubbly water was splashing everywhere as her arms flailed about. Her orgasm quickly came crashing down on her, and either it lasted nearly a full minute, or lasted a little less and was quickly followed by another. Of course, I ended up busting my second nut during that period. Young Blood Ch. 04 Alicia collapsed into Elizabeth, who lay back giggling hard. I leaned back against the other end of the tub. I needed a minute or two before I was going to be able to move. "Well," I said, "that was... extreme." Elizabeth reached over and picked up a purple candle she'd had burning next to the tub the whole time. "Violet Passion," she purred. "Drives my girl here completely nuts!" "You're not planning on bringing that thing to... on Friday, are you?" Alicia inquired. "Are you kidding?" Elizabeth laughed. "You'd never survive that!" "So you're pretty much saying," I said, "That Friday night is going to be..." "Pretty much about three times as extreme as this was." There was a moment of silence. "Yikes," Alicia said at last. "I mean, it's not how Tanya's parties were originally planned," Elizabeth went on. "They're really just officially involving drinks and music and dancing, but sooner or later they always end up turning hard-core. And I guess that would be sooner a hell of a lot more than later. Now it's pretty much what everyone expects when they go there." "Sounds like it's gonna be one hell of a night," I grinned half-cocked. "Um, there is just one more thing I think you should know, Vincent," Elizabeth added. "Oh yeah? What's that?" "I think your clothes got wet." *** I'll apologize to anyone who was hoping to hear the rest of that story, because no power on this Earth is going to drag it out of me. I'll just skip ahead to Friday. I'd never had sex planned this far in advance before, so needless to say, I was anxious when I got out of class that afternoon. You ever have one of those days when you have something planned for tonight but tonight is still hours away, and you're thinking "what the hell am I supposed to do until then?" I'm sure you have. I found that, despite my initial position on it, after more than half a week of anticipation I was actually looking forward to this thing. I decided to take a nap. This was nothing special; heck, I'd been doing it quite frequently after class since I turned, for obvious reasons. Today it had a little meaning to it. I was like a kid on Christmas Eve, attempting to hasten Santa's arrival. It was the only thing I could really think to do to pass the time. So I slept. I don't know for how long exactly; I don't remember what time I woke up. But I do remember waking up, because the first thing I saw was Michelle sitting on Larry's bed, looking at me. My first impulse was to bounce upright, which I did, but I staved off the second which was to get out of my bed, when I noticed that the blinds were open and light was pouring into the room. I was safe as long as I remained where I was; not something I was particularly happy about. "Michelle!" I shouted. "Do you usually watch people sleep like that?" "Larry left the door standing open," she shrugged. "And I saw you in here. I just... I don't know, I just kind of wandered in and sat down." "Very nice," I moaned. "Can you close those blinds please?" "Is the light bothering you?" I nodded impatiently. "Yes, it's bothering me, can you just close them please?" She looked at me a moment, clearly put off by my bluntness, then got up to do as I asked. "You're not still mad at me, are you?" I sighed. "No, I'm not mad at you. I'm just a bit uncomfortable with being watched like that." "Oh, well... sorry," she shrugged. "But honestly, there are some things about you I've been trying to piece together lately, and I'm not getting anywhere." I looked at her warily. "What do you mean?" "Well don't think I haven't been watching you lately..." "Yeah, I kind of noticed you watching me—" "No! I don't mean just now, but I mean in general. And Larry's there to fill in some of the blanks for when I can't watch you. I've seen the way you hang around all night with those people, like that weird goth chick. You've never been an all night person, but Larry says you've lately been getting back to the room even later than he does, and then you slack off in bed all day except when you have class." I shrugged. "Yeah, well, I've made some new friends. So what?" "Well wait, I haven't gotten to the really interesting part." I cocked an eyebrow. "What's the really interesting part?" "The part where just the other day I saw the soda machine in the alcove down the hall move to cover a secret door that I saw you walking through. I'm really rather curious to hear you explain that." I went stiff. What was I supposed to do now? A human had seen the entrance to the SVA, so did that mean I had to kill her? I won't deny I did chew on the idea for just the slightest moment, and not for the first time began checking out her neck. I quickly shoved away that impulse, and simply said, "If I were you, I would never mention that to anyone ever again." She actually smiled. "Is that some sort of secret, that if you told me you'd have to kill me, is that right?" "Something like that. Or someone else will." I guess I sounded more sincere that time than before, because now she was starting to look intimidated. "Why the sudden interest in what I'm doing, anyway?" I asked. "Whoever said it was sudden? I've been interested in you ever since I transferred to this school." "Oh, really?" I sneered. "Is that why you're going out with my slob of a roommate?" "Could be," she said, not sarcastically. I raised a curious eyebrow. She added, "Maybe the only reason I started going out with Larry was because I found out he had a roommate named Vincent! Did you ever think of that?" I was on my feet by this time. I don't remember exactly at what point in the conversation I stood up, but I know I was on my feet by then because I paced lightly for a second or two before saying, "Why, to make me crazy, or jealous?" "No, just so I could find you again." I spread my arms. "Well here I am. You found me. So now what are you doing still hanging on to Larry?" She shrugged, and smiled coyly. "Making you crazy and jealous." "Well it's not working." I'm not entirely sure whether I meant that or not. She began drawing closer, her smile still holding. "That's bullshit, and you know it." I began to develop an extreme sense of discomfort as she came closer. "What are you doing?" "Just trying to see how crazy I can make you." Bang. Before I could stop her, her lips were on me. And believe me, being torn between pushing a girl away and embracing her to yourself is a weird conflict to be in. I decided quickly I needed to get away from here as quickly as possible, before I was tempted to do anything... tempting. You know, that might elicit biting. I decided it was time to employ a little vampire trait I hadn't ever really tried using yet, mostly because I'd never needed to before now. I don't how I knew I could do what I did in the next moment; vampire instinct, I guess. It's this thing were we can move across short distances faster than the human eye can follow; we call it flickering. I took a moment to return her passion, and accepted the kiss she was giving me; then, before she could even open her eyes, I was behind her and leapt up to the ceiling. I held on for a moment, looking down on her, waiting for her to be gone. Immediately, of course, came the inevitable "What the hell? Vincent? Where are you?" She began whirling about, looking all around the room. I prayed hard she wouldn't think to look up. I really didn't want to have to kill her. Fortunately, she didn't. She just left, continuing to call my name as she searched. I dropped down when I was certain she was gone. I thought I ought to be gone in case she decided to come back, so slipped on some shoes, grabbed my little pass-card and headed down to the lower levels. I decided I'd see what the other girls I knew were doing; I didn't have to hide anything from them. I arrived at their door, however, to find a "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging from it. Now from Alicia I would expect that, but I'd never known Elizabeth to care if anybody walked in on anything she was doing. Curious, I leaned my ear against the door, expecting to hear loud grunts and breathing. Instead I heard their voices speaking full, intelligible sentences. "Okay, let me make sure I understand," I heard Alicia say. "I put in a few drops of my blood, you put in a few drops of yours, we add this other stuff here and drink it, then we just sit here and breathe?" "That's about the it," Elizabeth replied. "And don't underestimate this incense you're breathing. It's powerful stuff." "Um, what exactly is this ritual supposed to do?" "Oh, you'll see. It's a necessary step to do what we talked about for tonight." There was a moment of silence. "Look, I know the rituals of Blood Rose might seem a little freaky, but it's worth it, trust me." Blood Rose? "I don't know..." "Alicia... do you trust me?" A pause. "...Of course I do." "Then let's do it." The dialogue ceased after that. I had no further clues as to what they were doing in there, so I decided I might as well leave. I figured that sign was on the door for a reason, and I should probably pay attention to it. I decided to go knock back some B+ at the bar; it's always good to have some fresh blood in your system before engaging in any heavy activity. The second I walked into the rec room, I heard someone call my name. Vanessa, Rachel and Jonathan were gathered at one of the little round tables, waving for me to join them. I thought about it a moment, and decided to accept, after grabbing a slightly larger glass of blood from the bar than I originally intended. "Hey, what's up?" I said as I sat down. "We were just leaping at the opportunity to talk with you," Rachel said. "You're becoming quite the celebrity around here, you know." "Really?" "Absolutely," said Vanessa. "Do you know how many people down here, guy or girl, can look Tanya in the eye and tell her to go fuck herself? I could count them on one hand!" "One hand, hell!" Rachel added. "I could count 'em on one finger!" "And the one finger would be me, right?" I checked. "You're a quick study," Rachel grinned. "So Vincent," Vanessa purred, "what are you up to tonight?" "Oh, just got some people to see..." "Because I do have plans tonight, but I could change them if you're interested..." "Hey now," protested Jonathan, "you're not going to bail on the party are you?" Vanessa and Rachel both threw him an angry look, telling him right away that he'd probably said too much. Or at least that's what they thought. "Party? As in Tanya's party?" All their eyes became fixed on me. I responded to their stares by producing the little red card from my pocket and displaying the big 'T' on it for them. They each responded by doing likewise. "Funny," said Rachel, "word around here was that you hated Tanya." I shrugged. "Elizabeth talked me into it." "This is just great!" Vanessa laughed elatedly. By now she pretty much had the word 'seduction' written all over her face. "So you're interested in..." I really didn't think I needed to finish that sentence. "Well, you know, Elizabeth talks. She talks a lot about the guys she does it with. And let me tell you, you're by far her favorite. I've just been itching to find out what she's been talking about." "Oh really," I said simply. I didn't express any particular outward enthusiasm; just a calm smile. "Get in line," Rachel grinned, licking her lips. I was compelled for a moment to look down at myself to see what they were suddenly so attracted to, but then my eyes were drawn to Jonathan when I noticed how he seemed be feeling suddenly inadequate. The party was scheduled to start at nine; I don't remember exactly what time it was, but we still had a couple hours to kill. Not surprisingly, Jonathan suggested we pass some time at the pool table. For the most part, it was just me and him playing; the girls just didn't seem to have their hearts in it. They did pick up the queues occasionally, but never for very long. They spent more time just sitting at that table, involved in some giggly girl talk. Jonathan seemed to have found me to be a worthy opponent, and was eager to test my mettle some more; we kept each other going at that game for a good while. About a half-hour, give or take five or ten minutes before the party was scheduled to start, Vanessa and Rachel got up to leave, saying they needed to get changed. I failed to see what was so important for them to put on when they were just going to yank it off again anyway, but I didn't say anything. We just kept on playing, and ultimately started placing bets. I remember losing twenty bucks, and then playing a hard rematch to win it back that we never finished. We'd actually lost track of the time, and might have even missed the party had Alicia and Elizabeth not shown up when they did. Alicia was wearing what looked like one of Elizabeth's party dresses; a strapless black thing that ended a little above the knees. Her nails were polished blue, both fingers and toes. What really caught my eye about her, though, was that she was wearing her hair down; Alicia almost always had her hair in a ponytail. Despite the fact that she had probably borrowed that dress from Elizabeth, Elizabeth always had to look a little more outrageous. Both of them were dressed all in black except for the open-toed sandals on their feet, but the similarities ended there. Elizabeth's wardrobe seemed to consist primarily of a leather miniskirt and a string bikini-top. "Wow, you look good," I said to both of them. Alicia responded with a coy smile; Elizabeth gave me a look that seemed to say 'tell me something I don't know.' "Elizabeth, going a bit more extreme than usual, huh?" "Don't talk yet," she grinned. "As soon as we get inside the ballroom, the top's gonna go!" I raised an intrigued eyebrow. This girl never ceased to amaze me. "Hey, have either of you seen Vanessa and Rachel?" said Jonathan. "I mean they left a while ago to get changed, and they're not back yet." "Oh, they'll be there," Elizabeth said. "Don't have any concerns about that." When Elizabeth has that kind of assurance in her voice, we all knew better than to ask questions. She knows things. "So, um, are we like, you know, gonna go now?" Alicia, of course. I took a look at the clock. "Yeah, I guess," I said, having completely forgotten about the game and the bet. It was time. We wandered out of the rec room towards the doors of the ballroom. "So, uh, how does this work, exactly?" Alicia said. "Oh, we just knock on the door, Tanya takes our cards and we come inside," Elizabeth answered. "That's all there is to it. I mean she locks the door after a while, so anyone who's not in already isn't getting in, but we don't have to worry about that tonight." That said, she was the one who knocked. I brought up the rear as we walked in. "Well Vincent, I'm impressed!" Tanya beamed as she collected my card. "You know for just one smidgen of a second, I was actually worried that you might not show up!" "I just want you to understand one thing, Tanya," I said firmly. "I'm not here for you." "Wow!" Alicia said suddenly. That's when I took a look at the ballroom. The whole place had been set up with sofas and rugs, where the few people who were here before us were lounging about, if not hanging by the drink tables serving themselves to cups of alcoholic plasma. "Waitaminute, the party is in here?" she said. "Were not packing into the back room?" "Duh!" Tanya smiled. "This isn't the situation where those who want to get naked have to separate themselves from the rest of the crowd! We have the whole ballroom to ourselves!" "And golly, am I happy about it," said Elizabeth as she stepped forward, having just made good on her promise to discard the string-bikini top she was wearing. She proceeded topless into the ballroom, naturally getting everybody's attention. It took about three or four seconds for the woo-hoos to start coming. "You just have to make yourself the center of attention, don't you?" I said, following her. "I guess," she shrugged. "Actually, what escapes me is why every girl doesn't feel compelled to do this. To go to a party in what God dressed her in." "Really?" I said mildly. "Well, we just... you know," Alicia stammered. "I did try to talk her into it too," Elizabeth said as she picked up a cup of bleer, seemingly oblivious to the number of people who were staring at her. "I think if the world were perfect, we wouldn't bother with clothes in the first place. We'd spend some of the time eating, some of the time sleeping, and the rest of the time just humping like rabbits." I laughed. "You are just a crazy little fireball, you know that?" She grinned at me. "Proud of it, baby!" The room was filling up quickly as Thomas, one of the bouncers to the SVA, stepped up to the table. "Hey, Elizabeth! Laundry night?" She responded with one of her typical tempting smiles. More people started gathering around, and further woo-hooing ensued. She ultimately had to push through some of the crowd, and I'm fairly sure I saw at least one guy cop a feel, but she either didn't notice or care (probably the latter). "Now, now, boys, give a girl a little breathing room!" "Well Elizabeth, face it," said Jonathan, "you're really just asking for attention!" Maria, our resident Latin hottie, quickly chimed in, "I'll fix that!" before yanking her halter-top off. The response was instantaneous. All eyes bounced away from Elizabeth and toward Maria, with the woo-hooing starting up again. Maria grabbed her boyfriend Gabriel by the face and said, "Do I have your attention now?" "Undivided, baby!" As soon as they locked lips, another girl, I think her name was Victoria, shouted, "Hey everybody! I can play too!" She had rolled the top of her dress down below the twin globes she hefted in her hands. The nearest guy suddenly leaned over and licked one of them, eliciting a giggly "Hey!" from her. Within a minute, more than half the girls in the room had their tits exposed. Which did not include Alicia. I'm not sure how long they'd been at it, but about then I noticed one couple who didn't seem particularly interested in what was going on around them. Theresa and Matthew seemed too absorbed in their make-out session on the couch. They did seem to be emulating the rest of the crowd when Matthew slid Theresa's blouse up her pale, slender body and over her short, spiky, platinum blonde hair, but that wasn't about showing off. Not that they weren't getting some attention, of course. They proceeded into further states of undress, gradually getting Theresa on her back as Matthew mounted her. They ignored the cheers they were getting and just focused on enjoying each other. When I started to hear some heavy breathing that didn't seem to be coming from them, I peered to my left. It was coming from Alicia. She wasn't doing anything in particular, she was just watching them, but I could see how hot she was getting. Partially from the way she was massaging her left tit through her dress. Suddenly I was grabbed by the arm and was being pulled along. The guilty party turned out to be Tanya, who was currently dressed in nothing but a smile. "Come on, Vincent! The group banging of the Sugarqueen is about to begin!" I pulled my arm out of her grip. "Yeah, fascinating," I muttered. She looked at me quite incredulously. "That was me inviting you to participate." "And that was me declining your offer." She stared at me in disbelief. The concept of people saying 'no' to her was a foreign idea. "You're serious, aren't you! You really don't want to fuck me?" "Once was enough for me." A set of feminine hands suddenly took hold of each shoulder. Vanessa and Rachel stood on either side of me, giving Tanya looks that I didn't think anyone besides myself was capable of giving her. "You want him, you're gonna have to get in line," Vanessa sneered before they dragged me off. I heard Tanya's angry snuff as she turned the other way. At present, I'm willing to call that a rescue. Young Blood Ch. 04 That's when I noticed what the two of them were wearing: Fishnet body suits. That's all. Vanessa in red, Rachel in green. Like that really matters. The crisscrossed threads wrapped over the majority of their bodies, yet hid nothing, while still leaving their hairless pink pussies completely uncovered. "It's your lucky day, Vincent my boy!" said Rachel. "You just picked up two chicks for the price of none!" I noticed Alicia looking a little dismayed and confused. That's when Jonathan decided to swoop in and fix things. "Hey Alicia, since he's getting my girl, you mind if I get his?" She took a look at me, shrugged, and then accepted the approach of his hands. I checked around quickly for Elizabeth, and found her about four feet away from her miniskirt, leaning forward with her hands pressed against the wall while Thomas went at her from behind. The girl had wasted no time. Before I even knew what was happening, my pants were on the floor, and Rachel's lips were on my cock. "Hey," said Vanessa, "I wanted first taste!" Rachel popped me out long enough to giggle, "You snooze you lose!" Vanessa actually laughed, and with my lower part being taken, she settled for a taste of my lips. She was aggressive, I'll tell you that. When she was finished with that, she lowered to her knees (at which point I noticed the way her hand was moving downstairs) and shared some tongue with Rachel. Rachel proceeded to feed me to her, before standing up, yanking my shirt off, and offering me her own lip-to-lip treatment. She was a little more tender, but no less hungry. Moments later I felt Vanessa's lips remove themselves from me. She lay down flat on her back, knees raised and apart. "Can you come down here with that big thing now?" she asked sweetly, still fingering her clit. I couldn't help sparing a glance at Alicia, whose dress had now been rolled into a black band around her midsection and was down on all fours with Jonathan giving her all he had. She looked back, and smiled at me. I needed no further encouragement. I lowered down and gave Vanessa what she wanted. Her head rolled back into the floor, her eyes closed and her teeth clenched together as I slid in and out of her. Her finger began moving over her little spot that much faster, while Rachel proceeded to rip the fishnet from Vanessa's right tit and apply her tongue to it. I saw Vanessa's mouth open, but it became hard to tell at first if the moan I was hearing was actually coming from her. I was suddenly surrounded by a lot of them. By watching her mouth, though, I was able to distinguish her cries from the crowd, and she was making a lot of them. Rachel crawled on top of Vanessa, and suddenly my view of the girl I was doing became limited to her arms and legs. I couldn't tell exactly what the two of them were doing to each other (though I could hear some more fishnet ripping), but I found the opportunity had suddenly presented itself to change things up a bit. Without warning, I removed myself from Vanessa, and raised myself just a fraction of an inch to Rachel's opening. The way her head snapped back suddenly told me she was just as surprised as I'd hoped she'd be. "Oooo..." (I'm fairly certain that came from her.) I hooked my fingers into her red curls and pulled her head back. She tilted her head to the side as I did this, and I could see her face now: eyes squeezed shut and mouth dropped open. Vanessa's head poked out from under her and giggled up at me. When I felt Rachel's first orgasm, I began alternating between the two while they continued their oral treatment of each other. At one point during this, I took a moment to look around me. All I can say is, my God! Hump City! I'm going to leave out a detailed description of what the place looked like; your imagination can probably do a better job of that. I stopped when I spotted Tanya, who of course was in the middle of the room with every hole she had filled, with two or three more guys standing around her waiting for their turns to fill one. Bunch of horny sheep. When I felt myself approaching the edge, I pulled out of Rachel and beat the head against her ass to give her the message. She took it, and rolled off to the side of Vanessa. The two of them remained pressed together, their tongues dancing with each other and each with a hand busy with her own clit while I knelt above them, jerking myself mad. At last I released my stream across both their now exposed tits, and they laughed and cheered. They lay there happily licking the white ooze off of each other, while I sat back for a breath. "Elizabeth's right about you," Vanessa beamed, "you are a tomcat!" Before I could say anything in response, someone grabbed me by the shoulders and yanked me down to the floor before smothering me with her lips. By now I probably shouldn't have to tell you who that was. "Surprise!" said Elizabeth. "By now it shouldn't be, but for some reason it still is." "We've got something special planned now," she smiled. "Stay right there." It was then that I noticed Alicia and Jonathan standing there. "Jonathan, lie on the floor next to Vincent, please," she instructed. Jonathan promptly obliged her and lay flat by my left. Elizabeth turned to Alicia now. "Who do you—wait, hold on." She took hold of the rolled up dress around Alicia's midsection, the only thing she was wearing, and slid it down her body to leave her completely in the flesh. "There, that's better. Now, who do you take?" "I want Vincent," she said, looking soulfully into my eyes. "All right," Elizabeth nodded, and knelt between Jonathan's legs while Alicia knelt between mine. "First thing is to put some life back into these two." With that she took hold of Jonathan's limp rod and engulfed it with her lips, just before Alicia did likewise with me. What they were attempting to accomplish didn't take long; I was ready for more in less than a minute. When I checked over at Vanessa and Rachel, I found they were far from finished either. The remains of their fishnet suits completely discarded now, they sat facing each other, each with her left leg over the other's right, and the hand that wasn't supporting her weight massaging the point where their pussies were grinding together. Rachel had her head back and her mouth open, while Vanessa's hung open in a big smile as her happy cries came out of it. Elizabeth and Alicia arose to their knees once they had gotten us up and ready again. "You ready now?" Elizabeth asked Alicia. Alicia breathed a moment, then said, "Yeah, I'm ready." With that, Elizabeth bit into the palm of her left hand, while Alicia did likewise with her right. Then they put their bloody hands together and interlocked their fingers. "Now breath with me," Elizabeth instructed. They began breathing together, in through the nose, out through the mouth. Then, hands still joined, they mounted us simultaneously. At first, the only thing that seemed strange, was the way they continuously kept their hands together as they rode the two of us. After a minute or two, though, I began to notice something more. The grunts they both started making seemed much harder than any I'd heard either of them make. Especially Alicia. I could tell a few things by looking at their faces; Elizabeth's head tilted back and forth as her mouth hung open in a big grin; she seemed to be simply enjoying this more than she usually did. Alicia on the other hand looked like she was being completely overwhelmed. I'd never seen her eyes and mouth open that wide, nor heard her scream so loud. Couldn't say I could complain; I was getting the best sex I'd ever had from her before! Now, I've gotten pretty good at identifying when a girl orgasms, but there was a moment there when I began to wonder if I wasn't completely losing that skill. Just a couple minutes after the two of them started, Alicia had her first orgasm. And a hard one, too. "OH MY GODDDD!" The crazy thing, though, was that she seemed to have another one five seconds later! Was that even possible? Less than a minute later the same thing seemed to happen again, but this time they were so close together that I had a hard time telling if they were separate or if she just had one really big one. I didn't even announce when I was about to blow. They just seemed to know. They both removed the thing that was impaling them and held it in front of them with their free hands as they continued pumping their hips back and forth. Two white fountains suddenly erupted almost simultaneously. Once that was over, the two of them finally disengaged hands and collapsed in a heap on the floor. Elizabeth looked exhausted to be sure, but still up-spirited and full of life. Alicia looked a complete wreck. "My God!" Alicia breathed. "That was the most amazing thing I've ever felt in my life!" "I know," Elizabeth chuckled. "I haven't done that in years!" Slowly, deliberately, I sat up, my curiosity piqued. "Either of you mind telling me what just happened?" Also slowly, Elizabeth sat up. "It's called a Blood Joining. It's this thing where we put our blood together, after a few preparations, and then whatever one of us feels, the other feels too as long as our blood remains in contact. So when we're both having sex while we do that, that basically means that the amount of pleasure each of us feels is pretty much doubled. Each time one of us cums, the other one feels it. Pretty cool, huh?" "Well I don't know, you never shared this with me." She shrugged, leaned in and whispered, "Nothing personal. It's a girl thing." *** We were pretty much done after that, as were most of the people there. A few people still continued humping, but we were ready to go. We got up and started cleaning ourselves off and gathering our clothes together, although it did take a little while before Alicia was able to move again. Man, she was wiped! On the way out, as chance would have it, Tanya stopped me. She seemed to be done by now too, as she had her red leather dress back on. "So, you enjoyed yourself, didn't you Vincent?" "Yes, I did," I said through a sardonic smile. "I had plenty of fun doing things that had nothing to do with you. And oh, by the way, my stance on the issue of humans still hasn't changed." She sighed and put her hands on her hips, tilting her head to the side. "You're just impossible, you know that?" "Well I'm glad you finally understand that," I scowled. "Yeah, you're just completely nuts anyway," Alicia added. "I mean, if you turn everyone in the world into a vampire, whose blood are we going to drink?" There was a moment of silence, in which Tanya just stared at her. Then she just completely cracked up laughing. When she'd calmed herself enough to form words, she sputtered out, "Y-you've...you've got this all wrong, you little ditz! I never had any plans of turning everyone in the world! I only wanted this school!" "Really failing to see the difference here," I muttered. "I just want us to become stronger, so that we can stop hiding from the humans. I just want there to be enough of us out there that we can take our proper place in nature." "Proper place in nature?" I said. "As the dominant species on this planet, of course," she laughed. "We're the stronger race; the humans are the ones who should be hiding from us, not the other way around!" I shrugged. "Well I disagree. And I'm going to continue opposing you on this issue. I don't care what you do." "Really?" she said, raising an eyebrow. As I turned to leave, I heard her say behind me, "That's a theory I'd like to see tested." I didn't even turn around. I don't know why, but I found I wasn't afraid of her. Now, like everybody I suppose, there are little moments in my life that I wish I could go back and correct. If I were given a time machine that could only be used once, and had to pick one particular moment of my life I'd like to rewrite, I'm not entirely sure what it would be, but that moment right there, when I turned my back on Tanya, would be very high on my list of choices. If I'd only known just how far she would go. To be concluded... Young Blood Ch. 05 It was a little after ten about a week later. I'd just gotten out of my evening shower and was contemplating whether to spend the next several hours studying or playing the PS2 or going down to have some fun with my friends. At least Larry was at another one of his frat parties, so I could go back to my actual dresser to get changed. I emerged from the bathroom into my dorm room, shut the door behind me, and turned on the light. There was Michelle, sitting on my bed, wearing only a pink silk nightie. "What are you doing here?" I said in surprise. "Aren't you supposed to be with Larry at that frat party?" "Larry's still at the party, having a good time," she replied. "I don't think he even knows I left." "And you just decided to come back here to wait for him," I concluded. "Wearing that." "Please," she scoffed. "I came here to wait for you." "So you came here planning to cheat on him?" Slowly, sensuously, she arose from where she sat. "Larry and I have been history since the moment I saw you again. He just doesn't know it yet." For a moment, the only sound that could be heard was the light, barely audible sound of her bare feet moving closer to me across the carpet. It wasn't until she was within two feet of me that I bothered to move, which I did by brushing past her towards my closet. "Oh, this is crazy," I said. "What's the matter?" "Look, I'm sorry, but you have to remember that you and I are over," I said as I began pulling out some clothes. "Is there someone else?" I stopped everything. What was I going to say to that? Part of me knew I should have said yes. I should have said I was with Alicia. But another part have me wouldn't have felt right about saying that. As long as I continued to do stuff like I did last week, she and I would never be officially an item. Frozen with indecision, I said nothing. She took that to mean no. "Vincent, the only reason we broke up was because we were going in different directions. We're not anymore. I'm here. You're here. I don't see anything keeping us apart anymore." "Michelle, I can't ask you to do this. I'm not the same guy you dated in high school. I've changed." Her arms came to rest on either side of my neck. "Yeah, I've seen. You've learned a new disappearing trick, and probably a few other things I haven't seen yet. You've fallen in with a slightly different crowd, I get that. But you're still Vincent to me. That's all I care about. You're still the guy I loved enough to be my first... you know. I didn't stop loving you when I left; I didn't stop loving you when I met Larry; and I still love you now." Her hands placed themselves on the back of my head and she pulled me to her lips. The logical half of my brain was screaming at me to fight her, to push her away. The other half wanted nothing more than to embrace her to me. Torn between pushing and pulling, my hands essentially just held onto her sides, doing nothing, leaving me pretty much at her mercy. She began throwing her weight on me, and as a result I stumbled backwards, twisting around a bit, and landed in a sitting position on the bed, with her seated on my lap. I caved. My hands moved around to her back and pulled her against me, accepting her tongue as it probed my mouth as my own probed hers. Her hand reached down and pulled apart the folds of my robe, allowing my piece of equipment to rise like the Sears Tower, and as she continued making out with me her hand began stroking it, while my hands slid the straps of her nightie off her shoulders and took hold of her cute little breasts. We didn't keep that up for very long, though. We were eager, and excited, and we wanted this to happen, no matter how much I knew it shouldn't. A slight movement of her hips, and she lowered herself onto the thing she held in her hand. She moaned her lovely little moan, and her body began to shiver. That was one of the little things I remembered about her from the one and only time we'd done this before; the way her body tended to shiver when her southern region was stimulated. I found it to be an adorable little quirk. She kissed me again, her lips quivering against mine and her breath coming in the shortest little gasps I'd ever heard. I held her tightly to me, her soft little breasts feeling like a warm cushion against me. She slid away from my lips and began to nibble on my earlobe. "I've been waiting for this for so long," she whispered into my ear, before a small cry escaped her mouth and I began running kisses along the side of her face, down to— Yeah, I hear you out there going "Uh-oh, he's gonna bite her!" And your expectations are not unwarranted. As the little noises of pleasure flowed into my ear, I could smell her blood pumping. It was right in my face; it was not only full of blood, but sexually heated blood; the most tempting kind. I planted light kisses on her neck; I could almost taste it! My lips pulled away from my teeth. My jaws opened. I drew closer to her... I didn't bite her. I caught myself at the last possible instant, and in a flash of sanity, shoved her off of me. I ran to gather the clothes I had begun collecting from the closet, while she picked herself up off the floor in utter confusion. "What's wrong?" "I'm sorry," I breathed, throwing on clothes as quickly as I could, "I just can't do this." "Vincent, what's the matter? Is it me?" By now was already pretty much fully dressed, and still spouting apologies, much as I had after the time I first bit Alicia. "I'm sorry, it's not you, I just... I can't stay here!" With that I bolted out the door, down the stairs and out of the dorm building. I ran. I had no idea where I was going; I just ran. I had to get as far away from Michelle as I could. When I finally stopped for a breath, I'd managed to reach the more urban area of the city. I must have been running for twenty minutes. I looked around me. There were people. People out enjoying the nightlife. Hapless cattle. Whatever my stance on life may have been, my encounter with Michelle just then had stirred something up in me. I had to feed, and now. But that didn't mean I wanted to go back to the school, down to the SVA and ask Nigel for a glass of B+. I wanted live prey. I wanted to hunt. I began prowling the streets, scanning the crowds. There were plenty of people to choose from, but I didn't want to just grab a random stranger. I wanted to pick the right victim, if there is such a thing. What I was looking for ultimately came to me. I was just wandering along when I was spotted by a trashy-looking hooker with light blonde hair and a cigarette in her fingers. "Hey, junior," she said, "interested in a good time? I'm one of the less expensive girls around here." I took one look at her. This pitiful woman, selling her body out to whoever was interested in paying for it. A worthless human being. She'd do perfectly. I took a quick look around, and when I was sure no one would see, I knocked the cigarette from her hand, grabbed her by the neck and clamped a hand over her mouth. "I'm very sorry about this," I said to her suddenly terrified face. I dragged her over to the alleyway behind us, and when I was certain again that I could continue unobserved, I took hold of her by the head and shoulder and bit into her throat in a flash. She was too paralyzed to even scream. I'm not sure how long I kept this up for; probably just a few minutes. It was really all a blur; all I know was that I loved it. When I finished my meal, I let her drop from my hands and tilted my head back with a big sigh. My God! I'd never felt so alive! At least not since... Not since the first time I killed someone. I looked down at her, at the pathetic corpse of a pathetic person who had lived a pathetic life. I struggled for a moment to feel any kind of sympathy for her; I couldn't. All I understood just then was the thrill of the hunt and the joy of the kill, and for just that moment, Tanya's way of thinking began to make sense. Maybe she— "Oh my God!" someone screamed. I spun around. I'd been seen. A thirty-something couple was standing just outside the alley, staring at me. The woman's eyes were the size of golf balls, and her hands were covering her mouth. The man began shouting, "Somebody call the cops!" Suddenly all the people walking the street were gathering around, staring at me. What was I going to do? To hell with concealment! I acted purely on impulse, not caring how many people saw me. I bared my still bloody teeth and snarled at them all. All of them reeled back in fright. That's right, humans! I'm a big scary monster! That done I turned, flickered up to the fire escape, climbed the wall, hopped to the adjacent rooftop and ran. Looking back on it, that was probably the stupidest thing I could have done in that scenario; nonetheless, it was fun! I ran along, leaping from rooftop to rooftop, ultimately dropping back down to the street when I was sure the coast was clear. I just stepped off the edge, landed on my feet and walked away. You know, for as long as I've been a vampire, the ability to do that is still as cool as hell! Anyway, I continued on back to the school, in much less of a hurry this time. I just walked. And that gave me time to think. If nothing else, I understood now that Michelle and I could never happen again. I mean, my logical side had always known that, but now I understood it completely. If I wanted to have any kind of real relationship, it would have to be with Alicia. She was ready and waiting for me, and now I was ready to accept. I'd done enough fooling around; it was time we got serious. So perhaps I should find her and do something about that. I got back to the school, and for a moment thought about returning to my dorm room to call Alicia, but I didn't want to risk running into Michelle just yet, so I decided to go down and see her in person. I descended to the SVA and went to check Alicia and Elizabeth's room. No one answered when I knocked. Fortunately, Vanessa happened to be returning to her room just then, with her arm hooked under Jonathan's. "Hey, Vincent! What's going down?" "You seen Alicia around here?" "Last I saw her, she was going for a dip with Elizabeth." "Oh, great, thanks!" I immediately went off in the direction of the pool, and stepped through the doors. I spotted Elizabeth right away. Not that she was doing anything extreme; she's just Elizabeth, and she tends to get noticed. She was just gliding around the water in her black string bikini. Alicia, however, was nowhere to be seen. Well, at least one person was sure to know where she was. "Hey, Elizabeth!" Her face brightened in an instant when she saw me. Not that she was dismal or anything before, but she suddenly went from casual to sunny, and waved at me. She bobbed her head down and glided through the water like a penguin, then leaped up out of the pool and wrung the water out of her raven mane. She hopped up to me like a kid hops up to an ice cream truck, and all she said was, "Hi!" "You seen Alicia?" Elizabeth looked in the direction of the shower rooms. "Um, last I saw her she was—" As if on cue, the doors to the showers opened and Alicia emerged, fully dressed and carrying a small bag, presumably containing swim wear, her hair still a little wet. Elizabeth grinned, obviously as amused as I was by the irony of her timing. "Hey, Alicia!" Alicia smiled and came over to join us, albeit with a little less of Elizabeth's schoolgirl enthusiasm. "Hi Vincent! What's up?" For a moment I thought something looked a little different about her... ah well, anyway... I took a hesitant look towards Elizabeth before speaking. "Uh, Elizabeth... you think you could maybe... like give us a moment?" She shrugged, still smiling. "Sure, no problem." She turned and walked back in the direction of the pool, sitting down on the edge and dipping her legs in the water. It actually disturbed me how easily she'd complied, but decided against dwelling on it. Alicia looked at me, clearly curious and certainly worried about what I had in mind. "What is it?" "Look," I said, "we've just been fooling around with each other for a while, and sure I've had fun with it, but I think now it's time we started to change things." I paused a moment. She looked like she didn't know whether to be intrigued or worried. "I think we should get a little more serious with it now. I mean, you know... I was thinking we could maybe do something tomorrow night, just you and me... like in a date capacity, so to speak." I got the impression from the look in her eyes that she liked that idea. "You mean it? You're ready for that?" "Absolutely! What do you say?" Her answer consisted of a beaming smile on her face, followed by her arms being thrown around my neck and her lips upon my own. When she released me she said, "Right now I was going to go get started on my homework for Monday, but I now I can't wait for tomorrow! Where did you want to go?" I realized suddenly I hadn't stopped to think about that. I managed to quickly find an answer for her by saying, "How 'bout you wait till tomorrow to find out?" She smiled again, and headed off the other way with a giggle, waving at me on her way out the door. "And I was beginning to think it would never happen!" Elizabeth practically came out of nowhere, go figure. I looked at her suspiciously. "Were you listening to all that?" She answered me with another of her wicked smiles, and I said, "Yeah, okay, dumb question." "So if you're going to start going steady with her, does that mean you and I can't ever..." "Can't ever what? Don't tell me you're suddenly interested in commitment?" Elizabeth scoffed. "Heck no! I just meant if this means we're not going to be doing it anymore." I shrugged. "It probably does." She made a pouty face; not an especially genuine one, but I understood what she was thinking. "Don't worry, you'll get over it. I know I'm not the only guy you—" "Yeah, but you are still my favorite. You're a good friend, Vincent, and a good lover too. You wouldn't be so cruel as to deny a girl one last tumble?" "Hey, slow down now, I am trying to make things work with Alicia—" "Vincent," she slowly purred, leaning in closer, "if you do this for me, I'll help you set up your date tomorrow night. You want it to be special, right? I'll make it into a night she will never forget!" Boy, when Elizabeth wants something... "Where?" She took me by the wrist and hurriedly led me in the direction of the showers. The shower room, by the way, doesn't actually have two separate rooms for guys and girls; just a bunch of individual privacy stalls that have room to get changed and everything in addition to a shower. There were a few showers going, and I worried for a moment that even with these privacy stalls we were sure to be about to attract attention. But if that doesn't bother Elizabeth... The girl wasted no time. She pulled me with her into one of the stalls and shut the door. In the time it took me to barely begin unfastening my belt, her bikini was already on the floor. Rather than doing what she normally would have done, which would have been to help rip off my clothes, she left me to do that on my own while she went over and turned on the shower. When I gave her a curious look, she responded by saying, "I need to take a shower after my little dip anyway, I just thought I might as well enjoy it." "So I suppose this is the part where you ask me to come wash your back, huh?" I said as the last of my clothes hit the floor. She scoffed again. "Hell with that, just get over here and fuck me!" I faced the briefest instant of indecision. I was trying to finally commit myself to Alicia, so what I was about to do here would be cheating, wouldn't it? But as soon as Elizabeth placed her hands on the wall of the shower and thrust her ass out to await me, all my indecision went bye-bye. I'll commit after I'm done with her in here. I stepped into the shower, and slid into her back entrance. "Aaahhhh..." was the instant gratification I got. Elizabeth's eyes rolled back and fluttered shut and she tilted her head back as I began pounding away at her. All at once the reason I loved having a friend like her came rushing back to me, and I quickly found myself realizing that one way or another, this would hardly be the last time she and I did this. I mean hey, Alicia has already proved that she enjoys threesomes every bit as much as I do, hasn't she? I smiled, and pumped in and out of Elizabeth with a song in my heart. "Oh, yeah," she moaned. "Oh I love it... Oh, keep fucking me!" She took hold of her left leg and lifted it from the floor, starting to twist herself sideways. I took the message and placed my hand on her leg, freeing up her hand to be placed on the side of my neck so she could look into my eyes as I continued pounding her. "Oh you're such a naughty boy! Ooh, you're gonna make me cum!" Which of course I did, very shortly afterwards. And no sooner did her juices start dripping off my balls, then I pulled out of her with a jerk, ready to give her my own present. She understood immediately, and dropped to her knees, opening her mouth and rolling out her tongue. Seconds later, her face was covered in ropy white streaks. She smiled and giggled a while, letting the rush of water wash my seed off of her face. "So," I said, "what was that you were saying about if I did this for you?" She grinned up at me. "Just leave everything to Elizabeth." *** As usual, especially for the weekends, I slept in the next day. It was close to three when I woke up, and found the room not entirely empty. Larry sat on his bed. Michelle stood at the far side of the room. And they just seemed to be staring at each other. The first thing I sensed in the room was hostility; there didn't seem to be any kind of sympathy between these to parties. It seemed Michelle was attempting to finalize her break-up with him, and both of them appeared to be fairly pissed off with each other. "Boy, if somebody sneezed here, all out war would break out," I said suddenly, breaking the silence. Both pairs of eyes immediately turned to me. "Well good afternoon, Mr. Anti-sunshine," Michelle quipped. "Hey, Vince," said Larry, "Michelle and I were just having a little break-up spat." "That was my supposition." Larry gave me a stupefied look. "Your what?" "That's what he guessed, stupid," said Michelle. Larry looked at her coldly for a moment, then turned to me. "Apparently she snuck away from the party without me last night and got X-rated with some other guy on campus." I suddenly found myself smiling at the poor lunkhead. "You hear yourself?" Michelle snapped. "'Apparently!' You didn't even notice I was gone!" For a moment she just let him stew in the pain of how she had reflected his words at him. Then she added, "Anyway, I don't think it was all that X-rated, considering somebody cut it a bit short. Wouldn't you agree, Vincent?" Larry suddenly started staring at me. "You mean you walked in and caught her in the act?" he gasped. I remained silent for a second or two. "Not exactly." "Well then why is she aski—" The answer hit him like a bus running over a Pinto. He pointed a finger at me, his mouth hanging open in disbelief. "No!" "By the way, Larry," Michelle said, looking at me with a raised eyebrow as she started this sentence, "Did Vincent ever happen to mention that he and I used to date in high school?" Of course, this got his stare turned back in her direction. "Or that he happens to be the guy who made me into a woman?" she added. He remained fixated on her for a moment longer before slowly adjusting his gaze back toward me. "Larry," I said rather heavily, keeping my attention on Michelle the whole time, "why don't you leave the two of us alone for a minute." I needed to finalize things with her myself, now that Alicia and I were going to be getting serious. Young Blood Ch. 05 He took a couple seconds to look back and forth at the two of us before slowly rising up and saying, "Sure, no problem." With that, he stepped out the door and shut it behind him. "If you want to talk to me," Michelle said, still clearly rather miffed with me, "you can at least have the decency to get out of that bed. It's fucking almost three 'o clock, for God's sake!" "All right, but not until you close those blinds," I replied. Her shoulders hung and her head tilted to the side. "What's up with you and those stupid blinds?" I said nothing, just gave her one of those looks. You know, of the "don't argue with me, just do it" variety. She rolled her eyes and said, "Fine." She walked to the window and closed off the deadly light pouring into the room, and I arose from my bed and grabbed my pair of jeans off the floor and began sliding them on. "I just want to know one thing," she said to me. "What the hell happened last night? Why did you jump ship in the middle of what we were doing?" I sighed. "I wish I could tell you. Right now, the only thing I need you to understand is that you and I are of the past. I can't allow myself to be tempted to get close to you." She shrugged in a wide-eyed sort of way that still demanded explanation. "Why not?" "Look, what I said before still stands, Michelle. I've changed. I've been pulled into a whole different world since we broke up, and if we keep this up I'll end up pulling you into it too." "Well you seem to be doing more-or-less okay, aside from the part where you're sleeping all day. How do I know getting pulled into this world of yours would be a bad thing?" "It's not as simple as..." I stopped. I looked away from her eyes, groping for a way to explain the situation without telling her the whole truth. But wait, what if I did? What if I told her what I was, and she expressed interest in joining me? What if she decided she wanted to be turned? No, I couldn't so casually give out that truth on the possibility that the recipient of the information would be intrigued by it. She'd probably freak out instead. Besides, even if I did let her join us there was... Alicia. "There is someone else," I said at last. Now that she understood. Her head rolled back with an angry grunt. "I knew it," she growled. "I'm sorry if you're disappointed that I didn't wait for you," I said, "but I've moved on. I've got my own life now, and you're just not a part of it anymore. I'm sorry." "Fine. I understand," she muttered. "Then I guess this is where I excuse myself from your life." And so she marched over to the door and yanked it open. Both of us were expecting there to be someone standing there when she did, but we both thought it was going to be Larry. It was actually someone else entirely, just getting ready to knock on the door when it opened. It was Elizabeth. "Well how 'bout that," Michelle fumed. "I guess this must be her, isn't it?" Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "Her who?" "She's just a friend," I said sullenly to Michelle. "Name's Elizabeth," she said, extending a hand which Michelle did not take. "Well, Elizabeth, I hope you'll make Vincent very happy. Have a nice life, both of you." With that she proceeded to storm out as Elizabeth stepped inside. "What was that all about?" "Ex-girlfriend, transferred here to see me, wanted to get back together. I said no." "Oh." Elizabeth needed no further explanation. "So was there something you wanted to see me about?" "I was hoping you could join me down in the lower levels, so I could show you the preparations I've made. Alicia's still sleeping, at least last time I checked, so you don't need to worry about her." In walked the big lout with an armful of beer cans. "Hey, if you two are finished about now, why d—" He stopped suddenly, seeing Elizabeth where he expected to see Michelle, and instantly turned on his I-laughingly-use-the-word "charm." "Well, hellllooo!" Elizabeth looked at me, clearly repulsed. "Roommate?" "Roommate." The slob took a few eager steps toward her. "Hey wassup baby? I'm Larry! And you are?" "Suddenly very eager to be gone from here." Larry took a step back, reeling from that wound. Elizabeth looked at me in a pleading sort of way. "Just give me a minute to shower and put on some clothes I didn't just sleep in," I said. She nodded, and turned and walked out the door. I was just starting to turn to head for the shower. "Hey, is it darker in here than it was a minute ago?" Larry said. I reflexively turned back to him in response, not really thinking anything of it. Then I saw him notice the blinds. "Oh, hey, weren't those blinds open?" "Larry, don't—" Before I could stop him, Larry had pulled the string. I instantly dove for cover behind my bed as deadly white-hot light came flooding into the room. Now that I look back on it, I probably overreacted a little; considering what time it was, there wasn't all that much sunlight coming into the room anyway, but I guess it's a natural vampire reflex to become panicky in the presence of daylight. Anyway, Larry looked at me with more than a little suspicion. "Y'okay?" "Close those blinds Larry, now!" I shouted. "Dude, what the fuck—" "CLOSE 'EM!" Obviously baffled, Larry consented. As soon as the lethal rays were gone, I stood up and sighed. "Dude, what's up with you, anyway? Out all night, later than even me, mortally afraid of the sun, hangin' out with weird goth chicks, you sure didn't used to do all that." I just looked at him a moment, pondering my answer. I idly imagined for a moment if I were to tell him the truth. It was a comical idea; I knew he'd never believe it—So why not just tell him? Since he's not gonna believe it anyway, no harm, no foul! "You want to know?" "Yeah." "You sure?" "Yeah!" "You absolutely sure you want to know?" "Dude, fuckin' spill it!" "I'm a vampire." For a moment, he just stared at me. Saying nothing. I just looked back at him, waiting for a response. And it finally came in the form of Larry just cracking up laughing. I couldn't hold back a smile, and added, "That's right, I'm an immortal, bloodsucking creature of the night." He laughed some more, of course. Just watching his reaction was actually pretty entertaining. When he finally started to calm down, all he could say to me was, "Man, you are one crazy motherfucker." What made it more amusing was that I actually knew exactly what he was going to say before he did. That's when things stopped being so funny. I turned around again to head for the shower. I had not even taken a step when I suddenly heard the shuffling of blinds and felt a burning pain on my back, and instantly leapt away from the rays that Larry had just allowed back in. "Goddamn it, Larry, I told you to close those blinds!" He gave me the most incredulous look he was capable of. "Dude, the joke's over!" "I'm not joking with you Larry, close the goddamn blinds!" "Vince, stop with the stupid vampire game, what's your fuckin' problem?" I glared at him, and—I don't know now why I decided to do what I did—thrust my hand into the sunlight. I just held it there, feeling the pain of it starting to burn. My hand trembled as smoke started rising from it; I gritted my teeth in agony, which I think meant my fangs were on full display, and finally yanked my hand back with a grunt when I just couldn't stand it anymore. I glared again at Larry, who had eyes the size of golf balls. "I won't ask again, Larry. Close-the-god-damn-blinds!" Larry obliged me again, and I had a good feeling he wasn't going to open them again. He began slowly working his way towards the door. "Dude, I think you need to go to a fuckin' doctor or something, get that looked at, you know... And then maybe see a dentist, or something—" I was not about to let him just walk away from this. In a flash, before his startled eyes, I flickered up to him, grabbed him by the throat and lifted him off the ground. I don't know if I've mentioned this, but one of the little things that happens to you when you become a vampire is that your strength goes up at least five fold. Or maybe it's ten fold, I'm not really sure. Whichever, the result is more-or-less the same: you become a helluva lot stronger. And I seriously doubt I could've lifted Larry off the floor with one hand like that when I was still human. Larry stared down at me like a scared puppy as I snarled at him, fangs fully exposed. "Now you listen to me very fucking hard, asshole," I growled. "First of all, when I say I want the blinds closed, that means you had better keep them the fuck closed, because the next time you open them in front of me is going to hurt you a helluva lot more than it is right now. Secondly, what you're seeing right now stays here between me and you, because there are more of us on campus here, and if word starts getting around that somebody knows about us, someone's going to track you down, and I'll leave the rest of that up to your foul little imagination. Do we understand each other?" He gave me a very shaky and frightened nod, and I let him down onto his feet. With that I turned again to head for the shower, but didn't bother taking another step as I noticed him starting to try to creep to the door. "Where do you think you're going?" I said ominously. "Uh, nowhere," he said in a rather panicky voice. I glared at him with a raised eyebrow, and he saw there was no escaping this interrogation. I wanted to know. Defeated, he blurted out, "Going to find a fucking wooden stake!" He was about to just go bursting out the door, but before he could even finish his first running step I threw a vicious left hook at his right temple that sent him sprawling right flat onto his bed where he belonged, unconscious even before he landed. With any luck, I'd hit him hard enough that he might even forget what just transpired, our at least mistake it for a booze-induced dream. So I finally managed to get to my shower, got dressed and headed down to the lower levels. I found Elizabeth waiting for me in the main lobby just inside the entrance to the SVA. "Hey, what kept you?" she said. I shrugged. "Roommate started asking questions. Let's just leave it at that." "Fair enough." I followed her to her room. When we got to the door, she quietly told me to wait where I was while she stepped inside. As soon as the door closed, I leaned in and pressed my ear to it, straining to hear the dialogue that ensued. "Hey there, lazy butt! You might want to think about getting yourself up about now." For a moment there was silence, followed by a groan and a low voice mumbling, "What time is it?... Oh. Okay." I faintly heard body movement and sheets shuffling, and I think I almost heard a yawn. I'm not sure, but I think I did. "Guess I'll go hop in the shower now." I heard a door close, and then another door opened, which of course was the one I was listening through. Elizabeth put a finger to her lips and quietly ushered me inside. Once she closed the door behind me, she crept over to her bed and pulled out a case like you might use to transport drinks on a beach trip or something. As I heard the shower start, she opened the case and I saw that it was full of ice, which surrounded a single liquor bottle, which she removed to show me the label. "Sang du Coeur?" I read aloud. "It's French," she whispered. "Means heart's blood. I asked Nigel for the most romantic drink he could come up with, and I got this." "What is it?" "Champagne, basically, with a little bit of O+. Just a little something to treat her to when you get back." "Yeah," I sighed, "still kind of need to decide where I'm taking her to..." Elizabeth flashed me one of those wicked smiles of hers. "Relax, baby, Elizabeth's taken care of everything. I've gotten you a restaurant reservation for 10:30 tonight. Second floor, balcony table, got a beautiful view." I'm deliberately avoiding telling you the name of the restaurant; just one of those little details I'm going to leave vague. "You two are going to go eat and have a good time, and while you're doing that, I'm going to be busy setting up the room for when you get back. You'll come back here, I'll bring you in, she'll gasp and go 'Oh, wow!' and then I'll leave the two of you to your little escapades while I go of to spend the night having some of my own with Vanessa and Rachel and whoever the two of them have managed to ensnare tonight." Towards the end of that I began seeing that naughty little look in her eyes that always implies humping is on the horizon. I smiled back at her. "Elizabeth, what would I ever do without you?" "Let's just avoid unpleasant thoughts for now," she grinned. *** I returned to my dorm room and spent the rest of my Saturday afternoon focusing on my classes; doing homework, studying for tests, the important kind of bullshit like that. Larry remained unconscious for several more hours; I think it was sometime after seven when he finally came around, and the first thing he said was, "Dude, Vince, you wouldn't fuckin' believe this weirdass dream I had last night!" I suppressed the urge to laugh. Ultimately, of course, 10 o'clock came around. I got out the best clothes I had—I think that was the first time I really ever gave much of rat's ass about what my wardrobe looked like—which really weren't all that much. Just a blue silk shirt and a so-so pair of slacks. I decided I looked good enough in them; at any rate, it was as good as it was going to get. I headed out the door. And standing outside was the last person I ever expected to find outside my door. "Well, well, don't you look yummy tonight!" For a moment I just stared in mute shock. When I finally spoke, the words that came out were, "Tanya, what the hell are you doing here?" "You know, I really shouldn't have been surprised when I found out you were still living up here, with the humans, but I was. I guess I just didn't realize how truly messed up you are." I scowled at her, fighting hard to keep my fist from rising to knock her face onto the other side of her head. This wasn't the time or place for it. I pushed my aggression down into the pit of my stomach and walked on past her to head for that soda machine. "Let's save this talk for another time, okay? I've kind of got a date." "With your precious, button-nosed little human friend?" All at once I wheeled back around and stared at her. "Have you been spying on me?" I demanded. "You're supposed to be my enemy, remember? It's what I do. You know what they say, 'all's fair in love and war.'" "Let's not go so far as to call this war, Tanya," I said, trying to hide the fact that I believed that was exactly what this was. She shrugged. "Fine, I'll leave you alone. I'll let you go on your perverted little date with your tickle-me cute little human—" "I'm going with Alicia, thank you very much!" Tanya didn't say anything, but I felt comfortable with the look on her face, knowing that in the little swordfight we were having I'd managed to get a good attack in. I took a step closer and added, "And about that human girl you're talking about: her name's Michelle, and for your information I've decided to break off any contact with her. And you know why? Because I care about her. You hear me, Tanya? She's a person, and she's important to me, and I don't want to put her in a position where I'm tempted to take away whatever future she might have." I felt a pang of remorse as I said those words, seeing the face of that hooker from last night flash across my eyes. And the young woman with the little dog on the night I changed. It passed; I felt nothing for them. The pangs mostly come from imagining Michelle being in their position. I kept everything concealed, though. "Now, if you'll excuse me, Alicia's expecting me." Even after the secret entrance closed behind me, I could still hear Tanya's sick laughter following me down. I headed down and knocked on Alicia's door, and waited a few moments for a girl I knew to appear. The girl who appeared was not one I knew, or so I thought at first. Not only was her hair not up in a ponytail, but the color had... well, not exactly changed, but been fine tuned. The simple dirty blonde had become shimmering, intermingled streaks of brown and gold. And her eyes... My God! Those eyes! Those pale cerulean orbs had almost taken on a kind of sapphire glow. The kind of glow I'd never seen in anyone's eyes before... Except of course for Elizabeth. I wasn't even paying attention to her dress, which I think was blue taffeta or something. All my attention was focused on her beautiful smiling face. "Well aren't you going to say something?" she said at last. "Huwayolaugre..." I managed to say. "That would be salivating boy talk for 'you look great,'" Elizabeth said behind her. "Oh," Alicia giggled coyly. "Well then thank you, salivating boy." "All right kids, you go have fun now," Elizabeth beamed. "Oh, and Vincent?" "Yes?" She took hold of my hand and slapped a handful of money into it. "Something you're going to need, trust me." I looked at it, then nodded my approval. "Thanks, Elizabeth." *** Now contrary to what you may have seen in the movies, vampires love a good meal as much as any human, with or without a serving of blood. So with that cleared up, I'm going to say this: the restaurant was great. We had a beautiful view of the bay and the city lights from that balcony; the table was set up perfectly with all the ornate decorations and the candles; and of course, the food was good. For a while, though, neither Alicia nor I said anything to each other. I don't think we needed to. I was focused on only one thing: she was beautiful. I mean I'd always known Alicia was genuinely pretty, but before that night I never would have described her as beautiful. It was like something had changed inside of her, and she'd taken on this mesmerizing, otherworldly splendor that I'd only seen in Elizabeth before. And from the look in her eyes, I'd say she knew it. Of course, she was the one who broke the silence. "Are you just going to keep ogling me all night, or are we going to actually talk?" We both started laughing. "Well what can I say?" I said, deciding to tell her exactly what was on my mind. "When I knocked on your door tonight, I was expecting the simply pretty girl I knew. I wasn't expecting to be greeted by the blinding beauty that's sitting in front of me now!" She made a coy little smile, and I added, "I mean what did you do to yourself? Your hair, your eyes..." I froze in mid-sentence on the word eyes, because those were what I was looking into again, and was again falling under their spell. I finally snapped out of it when she blinked. "Well, it has to do with this thing Elizabeth's been teaching me about," she said. "It's called Blood Rose." Two words I'd heard before, albeit by eavesdropping from the other side of their door. "It's about fully awakening the body and mind and attuning your vampire senses to the world around you. You remember that little thing we did at Tanya's party, where we drew blood and put our hands together so we would each feel each other's pleasure in addition to our own?" "Yeah?" "That's a Blood Rose technique. Joining the senses. It's a Zen kind of thing, except specially designed for vampires. Oh, and it's kind of for women only." "Yeah, Elizabeth mentioned something about that. Why is that, anyway?" She shrugged. "Hell, beats me!" she chuckled. "Elizabeth said something about there being a similar practice for men, just don't ask me to tell you anything about it." "So, ah, what does all that have to do with the way you look tonight? Cause whatever it is, I'm certainly happy you did it!" Her face suddenly took on a very Elizabeth-esque kind of smile. "I mentally made myself look beautiful," she mused. "I perform these weird rituals every night for five nights, and then meditate every night on how I want to look, and slowly my look starts to change." Young Blood Ch. 05 "Your kidding! You just think about looking like someone off the cover of Seventeen and boom?" "Well, there's a bit more to it than that," she said rather cryptically. "You're kind of playing a part yourself." Naturally, I raised an eyebrow. "Come again?" She began looking intently at me. "Look at my eyes, Vincent. Look." She didn't have to tell me twice; it was pretty hard not to look at those eyes anyway. But as I started looking at them then, the world around me began to drift away. There was nothing in the world at all except for her and those two brilliant blue beacons. And all I wanted to do was come to them, to become lost in those eyes, and never find my way out. Then she blinked. The world came rushing back to me. "Whoa," I gasped. "What was... whoa!" "It's all in the eyes," she mused. "I'm projecting myself through them, and they're drawing you in." I decided I didn't need any further explanation. "Well... that's impressive!" She shrugged, the boundless confidences she'd displayed a second ago giving way to the coy and unsure little girl I knew. "Yeah, I'm still kind of working on it. I'd say Elizabeth's got it pretty much down pat, though." No kidding, I thought. After all, wasn't that how Elizabeth had ensnared me in her net in the first place? But what I said was, "Well I think you're getting pretty damn good at it yourself," with an impish smile thrown in. "Really?" "Let me put it this way: I think you can consider me pretty well... drawn." She smiled. Oh, she was so beautiful when she smiled. *** We finally returned to her room a little after midnight, just randomly laughing back and forth at each other. I don't even remember what we were laughing at. If I didn't know better, I'd think we were just plain crazy drunk, but we really hadn't had that much to drink. We were just having fun. Alicia was about to put her key in the door when the door opened without her. There was Elizabeth standing there with, go figure, a smile on her face. "Hello, come on in," she beckoned. And just as Elizabeth predicted, Alicia stepped inside, gasped, and said "Oh, wow!" I actually didn't blame her. The room had been decorated all around with flower petals and white silk drapes and scented candles. Set out by Alicia's bed was the bucket of ice with the bottle of Sang du Coeur, accompanied by a pair of wine glasses. Elizabeth hit a button on the remote in her hand, and the music started up. "I'll leave the two of you alone now," Elizabeth beamed, heading out the door. "Good night. And I really mean that, you know." Alicia gave me a look that was somewhere between delighted and confused, which I think she was both. "What's going on here?" "Well, Elizabeth and I did a little planning since last night," I told her. "We had dinner, sure but that doesn't mean the night has to end there." I wandered over to the bucket by the bed and removed the bottle from the ice. "Shall we?" "What is it?" I'll leave off the explanation, since you already heard that part. I poured the drinks, we sat down, we clinked glasses and drank. And the drink wasn't that bad, really. Somehow, it really did seem to go with the mood Elizabeth was trying to go along with. But right then, most of my attention was exactly where it was before, on her eyes. Except this time, she was looking back at me with the same kind of look in her eyes as I was giving her. She wasn't reaching out and drawing me in anymore; any magic that happened here was going to happen on its own. After a while, I turned my attention towards the music that was playing. The slow, soft, gentle music that was just perfect for... "Hey, you uh... want to dance?" She smiled—I swear, every smile I saw on her that night was at least twice as beautiful as the last—and took my hand. We stood and moved to the center of the room. Her hands linked together behind my neck while mine took hold of the small of her back, and we began moving. Eye-to-eye. Neither of us was looking away. Neither of us could look away. There was nothing but me and her, and that was all I wanted there to be. I didn't even notice when the distance between us had closed to just about nothing until her head came to rest on my shoulder. I leaned my face against her head, and my eyes closed. And I stayed that way. And we kept dancing. We continued to move, lost in oblivion. I thought we were going to stay that way forever, and I didn't care, until I finally felt her head move. I opened my eyes, and saw hers looking at me with a quivering longing. We said nothing. Nothing needed to be said. I leaned forward, and our lips met. Yes, I'd kissed her many times before, but this time was different. The motive behind it was different. Affection, I'd done that. Passion, absolutely. But this was new. This was love. I think my hands took on a life of their own as they began gently sliding the zipper down the back of her dress almost without my consent. At the same time, I felt her hands unbuttoning my shirt, while our lips still remained locked. Once she'd gotten the last button off my shirt and slid it off me, she freed her hands just long enough for me to slide the straps of her dress down off her shoulders. Then she placed them back on my neck. I realized then that almost on intuition (or maybe not even almost), we'd been adjusting our movements toward the bed, when she lay back on it. I moved my lips down to kiss her neck and her tits as I slowly slid her panties off. For a moment I raised myself up, looking down on her lovely, waiting naked form, and finally dropped my pants and came back down on her. Had you asked me before that night what the difference was between having sex and making love, I'd have looked at you like you were from another planet and said, "There's a difference?" I learned very well that night what the difference was, because this definitely qualified as making love in a way no sex we'd had before ever had. I knelt over her and resumed making out with her as I slowly plowed my way inside. I took everything with the gentlest touch I was capable of, slowly sliding in and out. And so we went on. And on, and on... We changed positions from time to time, rolling around to put her on top, allowing her to sit up vertical, or moving around to go from behind, but our pace never really changed that much. We just went on, taking it slow, savoring every moment to its fullest extent. I don't know how long we kept this up for; it seemed like hours. Hours that neither of us wanted to end. We ultimately came almost simultaneously and fell into each other's embrace. I woke up the next morning with a warm body in my arms. I look down at her, seeing her still sleeping there. And I loved her. I knew it right then, looking at the beautiful naked girl sleeping in my embrace, I knew I loved her. It was as simple as that. With the back of my fingers I gently stroked the side of her face. Her mouth formed into a smile before her eyes were even open. And even then, she got out a little happy giggle before her eyes opened and looked at me. "Hi," she whispered. "Hi," I whispered back. And I kissed her. A thought entered my mind just then as I held her. "You know the stories about vampires that say they're supposed to be the living dead, with their bodies as cold as the ground they're buried in?" "Yeah?" "I can't tell you how happy I am right now that that turned out to be a myth." She smiled wider. "I know," she said, and pressed herself harder against me. "Can we stay like this forever?" I didn't say anything to that. I didn't need to. We both knew I felt exactly the same way. For a while, I'm not sure how long, the only motion in the room, and the only sound made, was our breathing. Neither of us moved again until the door opened and Elizabeth waltzed in. "Morning you two love birdies," she beamed. "You have a good time?" Our only response was to look at each other and laugh. Then I said, "What about you, how was your night?" "Well, I could tell you," she said, when she suddenly held up a video tape and added, "but there is a reason Vanessa has a video camera!" I looked at her a moment, and then cracked up laughing. "You little firecracker!" She set the tape down next to the TV and headed in the direction of the bathroom. "I'm gonna go shower now. Anybody feel up to joining me?" We both laughed with her, but declined. "I think we're just gonna stay here," Alicia said. Elizabeth nodded, and closed the bathroom door behind her. And so we remained, lying there. *** It was several hours later when I actually managed to drag myself out of Alicia's bed, get dressed and head back up to my dorm. It was a torturous moment for both of us when I left; even after I opened the door, she came up to me to make out some more, and we both had trouble stopping, but stop we ultimately did. So I went back up to my dorm building, and headed for my dorm room. I was practically skipping along, feeling like a million bucks. Five steps before reaching my door, I stopped. The blissful mood I was in had vanished in an instant, replaced with an all-consuming dread. I was six feet away from my room. The door was closed. Nonetheless, even from where I was, I could tell something was horribly wrong. There's no hiding the smell of fresh human blood from a vampire's nose. I ran to the door, shoved the key in the lock and swung it open. The room had been ransacked, various items thrown all over the place. And seated on the floor, slumped against his bed, was Larry, his shirt wet with his own blood. I didn't bother checking for a pulse. I could tell from where I was standing that there was no breath coming from him. I stepped up to him, and tilted his head to the side to examine his neck. And there they were. The two telltale marks. That was when I noticed the Polaroid in his hand. I carefully bent down to remove the little picture from his fingers, and brought it up to examine it. I took one look and almost flew into a mad panic. It was Tanya, holding a terrified Michelle by the throat, running a tongue up the side of her neck, fangs fully exposed. I suddenly realized how badly I'd fucked up by telling Tanya that I cared about this girl. Tanya knew she could use Michelle against me. I felt my teeth grinding together and a feral growl escaping my throat, and before I knew what I was doing I'd punched a hole in the wall. I was about to pick up the TV and hurl it across the room, when I saw what was written on the bottom of the Polaroid. "Wickman Lecture Hall B14 3:00 (Any later, and she's lunch!)" It was a quarter to 3:00 now. I dropped the Polaroid and bolted out the door, swinging it closed behind me, not stopping to make sure it actually latched shut. I descended down into the tunnels, and I ran. I think it took me about two minutes to get to where I was going. Given that this was Sunday, of course, there wasn't supposed to be anyone there. But I found the lock on the door had been forced open—clearly by someone with a vampire's strength—which I took full advantage of. The lecture hall was mostly empty, aside from Michelle lying on the desk at the front of the room, her wrists and ankles tied, and a strip of duct tape across her mouth. But no Tanya. I also took full advantage of that. I ran to the desk where Michelle lay waiting. She began squirming, trying hard to say something, as I came near. It didn't take a genius to see she was genuinely terrified. I stood over her and said, "Hold still, Michelle, hold still." I reached for the strip of tape on her mouth and said, "This gonna hurt me more than you." I quickly yanked it off, eliciting a little squeal of pain from her followed by a rush of words as she sat up. "Oh, Vincent, you've gotta get me out of here! I came by your room to see if you wanted to talk some more, and you weren't there, and then this girl showed up, and she killed Larry, and... and... I know you're going to think I'm crazy, but I think she's a... a vampire!" "I know." She stared at me. "What do you mean you know?" "Look, let's just get you out of here," I said, starting to untie her hands. But no sooner had I begun doing so than her eyes glanced behind me, flared up in terror, and she shouted my name just a nanosecond too late for me to avoid being tackled from behind. I rolled with the blow, and raised myself up in a three-point stance to see Tanya glaring at me. Forgetting, or else not really caring, what Michelle saw, I reacted in the natural way for a vampire to react: I bared my teeth and hissed at her. Michelle screamed. As if you didn't know she would. Tanya immediately clamped her hand onto Michelle's throat, silencing the terrified girl. "Vincent, don't you know I put that tape on her mouth for a reason?" I rose up on my feet, utterly enraged like I never had been before. "Tanya," I growled, "you get your goddamn hands off her right now, before I tear your fucking throat out!" Tanya's wickedly sharp fingernails—no, her claws—hovered threateningly over Michelle's face. "Do really think you can do that to me before I have time to do so much worse to her?" Defeated, I could do nothing but hiss at her again. "Vincent, you're pathetic. I want you to know that. Why do you keep insisting on fawning over these humans like this?" "I don't have any intention of making that girl part of my life anymore," I said to her, still seething. "I just want her to have her own." "Yes, her own life," Tanya mused. "Her own short, mortal, human life. You want her to go off on her own, get all old and wrinkly, and then die. Don't you get it, Vincent? Don't you realize what she is?" "She's a human. A living, breathing human being." "That's right, she's a human. A mortal. Do you understand that concept? One way or another, she's going to die sooner or later. What difference does right now make from fifty years from now?" Of course, Michelle began struggling to pull away, but she soon realized she was only succeeding in choking herself. "She deserves a chance to use the time she has! As short as it might be, she has a life!" "You really care that much about this girl?" Tanya taunted me, circling around behind the girl she was holding. "You really want her to live? Well you know she can! She doesn't have to die. She can live as long as she wants!" I became confused for a moment, until she added "...Forever." That was like a hard blow to the gut. "No!" "Why not? If you really don't want her to die then why not? I don't see what's so hard about this, Vincent. It's simple. We're vampires, she's human. We're immortal, she's not. We live, she dies. That's the way it is. But you can change her position, right here, right now." I stared at her a moment, unsure what to say. Before I could find any words, however, she went a step farther. "I have to tell you," she added, tilting Michelle's head to expose her neck while her hand moved from the throat to the mouth, "I am getting rather thirsty myself. And you know what? She's looking absolutely luscious!" With that she ran her tongue along Michelle's neck, just as she had in the photo, and bared her fangs with a grin that was absolutely dripping with malice. "It's your choice Vincent. Does she live, or does she die?" I froze in mute horror. Either I turn Michelle into a vampire right here and now, or Tanya kills her right in front of me. I looked at Michelle, struggling to breathe her giant panicked breaths, her eyes the size of golf balls, her sweat dripping down off her cheeks. What could I do? For a moment, all I could feel was hatred. Utter, absolute seething hatred for Tanya. But I realized then that that wasn't going to get Michelle out of this. There was nothing I could do but play Tanya's sick game. Have Michelle die now, or live forever like me. On careful comparison, I realized there was only one choice I could make. "All right... give her to me." Tanya grinned wider, and untied Michelle's feet. She stood her up on the floor, and with one quick shove Michelle was in my arms. At bared my fangs at the girl, who was now too panicked to even scream, and cast a glance at Tanya. She gave me an approving nod. Gee, I thought, that was almost too easy. I shoved Michelle aside and leapt with a feral growl at where Tanya was standing. Except when I landed, Tanya wasn't standing there anymore. In the time it had taken me to leap, she had flickered over to where I had shoved Michelle, whom she was now holding again. "I was so hoping you'd do that," she mused in the most sinister way I'd ever heard anyone speak. And with that she took hold of Michelle by the hair and exposed her neck again, baring her fangs, and this time not to just threaten. She was going for the kill. "NO!" For a heartbeat, time seemed to freeze. Even if I flickered, there was no way I'd get to her in time to stop Tanya from sinking her teeth into her. I didn't need to. In a flash, an indistinct figure tackled Tanya from behind. The two shapes crashed into the wooden desk Michelle had been laying on, smashing it. As the movements ceased, I was able to make out a black waterfall of hair and a shimmering pair of golden eyes. Elizabeth looked at me briefly, then turned back on her foe. The two vampire women raised themselves up, snarling at each other like a pair of wild dogs. And thus ensued one of the most outrageous, yet simultaneously scary things I'd ever seen: a vampire catfight. These two women proceeded biting and clawing at each other, getting plenty of blood all over the floor, until Tanya started gaining an edge and punched Elizabeth as hard as she could into the wall. I had to act quick, as the murderous brunette stepped over to her fallen opponent. I suddenly noticed the smashed desk, and flickered over to it to snatch up a sharp piece of the broken wood. Contrary to popular myth, a wooden stake isn't necessarily what you'd need to do what I was about to do, but it would still do the trick. Tanya stood fuming over Elizabeth, her foot planted on Elizabeth's throat and her clawed hand poised to strike. "You little bitch!" was all she had time to say before I plunged the sharp piece of wood through her back. "Tanya," I said, "you ever think maybe living forever ain't all it's cracked up to be?" And then I let her drop. I extended a hand down to help Elizabeth up, which she accepted. "You okay?" "I'll live." I inwardly noticed the irony of that response. Yeah, she'll live. She's a vampire. On that I turned my attention to Michelle, who'd been watching the whole scenario play out in frozen horror. I began moving towards her. "Michelle?" As I drew near, she began to panic, slowly backing away, and then turned and ran up the steps, out the door, and out of my life. Probably wise. "Are you okay?" Elizabeth asked me. After a few seconds' hesitation I managed one word: "Physically." *** Most of what happened that day got cleaned up without too many humans walking away with any questions. Larry was dealt with in the same way as any student on campus who gets killed by vampires. My dorm room was restored to normal conditions, and under the circumstances, I was able to get off fairly easy for killing Tanya. I was suspended from returning to the SVA for an indefinite period, which all things considered isn't all that bad. Patrick could have done a lot worse. The worst of the damage was done to me. I spent the next three days and nights brooding over it. On the night following the incident, Alicia came by to give me some comfort, which she did. I was happy to have her there, I won't deny that. But my mind still continued to churn, and the thoughts I was churning up weren't happy ones. Michelle had gotten off okay, that was true. It could have been so much worse. But what if something like this happened again? Tanya certainly wouldn't be the only vampire who thought the way she did, and Michelle was hardly the only human I still had ties to. But none of them could be part of my life anymore; they were enemies. Prey. Any contact with them was just asking for trouble. Just asking for death. Young Blood Ch. 05 That was what my life was all about now, I realized. Death. Once again, I remembered the young lady with the dog, and the hooker on the street. Everything I'd said to Tanya about Michelle held true with them just as much, and yet I'd killed them both. And I'd enjoyed it. I'd taken away the lives they deserved to have, and I'd attempted to justify it by saying I needed to. It was true, I did need to. But I understood now that that was no justification. I was as much a killer as Tanya was. Humans were my enemies. All of them. Because I'm not human anymore. I'm a monster. And monsters shouldn't be allowed to live. I was finally coming to my ultimate decision when Elizabeth knocked on my door at around eleven-thirty on the third night—which as of right now as I write this was about four-and-a-half hours ago. I let her in; I really did want to talk to her. "Hi, Elizabeth. What's up?" "I just wanted to see if you were okay." I paused a moment, moving around the room. "No," I said at last, "I'd say I'm pretty damn far from okay. And I thought you should know I've decided to do something about it." Her head tilted and she looked at me curiously. "What's that?" I looked at her gravely. "I'm going to climb up on the roof of this building... and I'm going to watch the sunrise." Her eyes flew open. "No!" she gasped. "Vincent, don't be ridiculous!" "I can't keep living like this, Elizabeth. I can't live forever as a predator, knowing that all the people out there, the people with lives, with loved ones, are my prey. I've tried to look around it, but there's no changing the fact that I'm a killer now." "You don't have to be!" she protested. "We have plenty of blood that people have given up voluntarily—" "It's not just the blood! It's the hunter's instinct! It's too strong!" She sighed. "Look, we can work this out. I mean, if you're talking about the first night you changed, I know it's unfortunate, but it happens—" "I'm also talking about last Friday, Elizabeth. I killed again on Friday night." She said nothing. She just stared at me in surprise. "I went out hunting that night, and I killed someone else. And it felt good when I did. And it was all so that I wouldn't do exactly the same thing to that girl I knew who we saved from Tanya the other night. It didn't matter who I did it to; my body wanted me to do it! And sooner or later, I'm going to do it again, unless I end it now." "Vincent, no!" she protested again. "Vincent, please, it's okay, you're not a monster—" "YES I AM!" I roared, wheeling around at her. "That's precisely what I am! That's what you turned me into!" That's when I saw the little sparkle running down Elizabeth's cheek. I knew then that I'd hit the wrong nerve; I never knew I was capable of making Elizabeth cry. Without a word, she turned around and started heading back for the door. I decided not to watch her leave, and turned melancholy to the window. "Vincent," I heard her say. I turned, and saw she had stopped halfway to the door, but still had her back to me. After a long pause she finished, "...I'm sorry." For a moment that was all. And then she went on, "I'm sorry I turned you without asking you first. That was very presumptuous of me, I know that now." After another brief pause she finally turned to face me. "But I'm not sorry I turned you." I was beginning to feel a little softer now, and took a few steps towards her. She went on, "We both know I'm not the kind of girl who likes to commit. But of all the boys I've been with, I don't think any of them have meant as much to me as you do." Feeling almost on the verge of tears myself, I took her into my arms, and felt her return my embrace. "You're the best friend I've ever had," I whispered. "But you know you're not going to change my mind about this." I heard a sniffle, and she sobbed, "I know." I released her, and she headed for the door as I sat at my desk to write out what remained of the story you've been reading, which I'd begun earlier that day. Just something to leave behind. Before the door opened, I heard her ask, "What do you want me to tell Alicia?" I turned around in my seat; she turned her head to look at me. After a moment's hesitation, I finally said five simple words. "Tell her I love her." She nodded, and walked out the door and closed it behind her. As I picked up my pen and began writing, I heard her slump against the outside of the door and begin crying intensely. I think she's gone by now. She should be, anyway. And I'm just finishing, too; not long now until sunrise. Once I'm finished here, I'm going to leave it here for someone to find; I don't really care who. Then I'm going to climb up to the roof and wait to see the sun for the last time. I bet it'll be beautiful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, it's now four in the afternoon on the next day, and I'm still here. Yes, something did ultimately change my mind, and since you've read this far already, I might as well explain what happened. I was standing on the roof. Not much time left. I was thinking I'd picked a magnificent way to meet my end; there are worse ways to go than looking into a scene of eternal beauty. She read my mind. "You're probably thinking it's going to be beautiful, aren't you?" I turned around, and saw Alicia standing there. She shrugged. "Elizabeth couldn't keep her mouth shut." I chuckled mildly in spite of myself, shaking my head. "Then I suppose she told you my reasons." "Yeah." "Then you know you're not going to get me to come inside." "Not why I'm here." A bit surprised, I turned my head to look at her as she stepped up beside me. "I'm not here to give you the whole 'you've got plenty to live for' speech," she said. "And I'm not here to beg you to come inside." Her lovely sapphire eyes looked solemnly into mine as she said, "I'm here because I love you. And if you're going to stand out here and wait to burn, then I'm staying with you." Now it was my turn to protest. "No! You can't!" "And you can?" she snapped. I found any other words I might have had cut off in an instant. "Do you happen to remember Julie, my roommate? The one I killed? I'm just as much a killer as you are, Vincent! I'm a vampire too! I have every bit as much reason to be out here as you do." I didn't know what to say. But she wasn't done yet. "I'll follow you, whatever you decide to do. If you still insist on staying out here, then we burn together." Then came the dramatic pause, before adding, "All three of us." "What?" I began frantically looking around the roof. No one else was there. "What do you mean, all three of—" My breath caught in my throat as I noticed the way her hands were resting on her belly. I pointed a finger at it, and gasped, "You mean—" Her response was a smile and a nod. "So like I was saying, I'll stand by whatever you decide. But I am kind of hoping you'll change your mind here, so we can have this little vampire together." I paused a moment; then in a flash, I grabbed her, pulled her to me, and kissed her. I needed no further incentive. We found Elizabeth waiting for us in the doorway when we returned inside. She actually looked genuinely surprised. "Wow, I didn't think you'd actually do it!" "I didn't," Alicia said, lightly patting her belly. "Our baby did." Elizabeth's jaw dropped. "Your—you mean—" When Alicia smiled and nodded, Elizabeth's eyes flew open wide and she squealed, "OH MY GOD!" as she ran to us and threw an arm around each of our necks. "I love you guys!" Alicia and I returned to my dorm room, closing the blinds as tightly as we possibly could, and fell asleep together on my bed; we were tired, and decided to let any sweaty stuff wait until after some rest. I woke up first a little while ago, and decided to finish writing out this part here. But it looks like she's awake and ready for me now. So if you'll excuse me, Alicia and I would really like to be alone for a while. THE END ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I appreciate any feedback I can get; it's the only reward I get for my work.
