Well it certainly had become memorable already and the wedding ceremony hadn't even started yet, but happy? The jury was still out on that one ... Alexandra stood in the women's bathroom in the lobby of one of the fanciest, most expensive hotels in Las Vegas and stared at her own reflection in the mirror. She was getting married to a wonderful, handsome man not too long from then in the largest banquet halls in the hotel. She was resplendent in her princess bridal gown. Her hair was perfectly coiffed upwards into a pony tail that cascaded down through the diamond encrusted tiara she wore and down to her shoulders then pooled onto her bare back just under her shoulder blades. Her makeup had been applied to perfection; her cheeks rosy, her eyes bright blue and sparkling. She glanced at the clock behind her on the wall; the ceremony was to begin any moment and her handsome pop star husband-to-be would be waiting nervously at the altar ... So why was she staring at the reflection of someone who's heart had just been torn in two instead of waiting for her cue to begin walking up the aisle? The heartbreak started only 10 minutes before when she left the safety of the bride's room to rush down the hall for a last minute bathroom break when she was greeted by a handsome friend of hers, Josh Groban. "Where are you going?" He asked as he met her in the hallway, her dress billowing around her as she tried to breeze quickly down the hall for a quick tinkle before the ceremony was to start. "Bathroom." She said. He laughed softly. "Nervous bladder?" He teased. She sighed and nodded. "Nervous everything." She said and eyed the door to the women's room only 500 feet away. "Hey, can I tell you something?" He asked, his hands clasped together in front of his chest. He was dressed formally in a three piece dark blue suit, tie, and white shirt. His dark, curly hair was combed to perfection, but his eyes were distant, nervous. Alex dropped the hem of her dress, her arm was getting tired of holding it up and her hands were sweating in the satin gloves that covered her hands and her arms up to her elbows. "Of course you can. Is something wrong?" She asked cautiously. Josh and his fiancée, also Alex's best friend January Jones were scheduled to be married in the same banquet room of the same hotel the very next week and the way he fidgeted in front of her now she had an awful feeling what he had to tell her may have something to do with that. He now ran a hand through his curls, took a deep breath and exhaled slowly through pursed lips. "What is it, Josh?" She asked urgently, not only did she have to pee but the wedding was to start any minute now. "Ummm ..." he looked at her then looked away. Forcing himself to look at her again their eyes met and he held her there. "I, uhh, I ... I don't know how to say this." "Just spit it out." She said. "I ... I love you." He said suddenly and so quietly she wasn't sure she actually heard what she thought she did. "You what?" She said, confused. His eyes bore into her and for a moment she was sure he could see right through her. "I love you, Allie. I want you so badly that it hurts." She sighed and looked down at the floor. "Josh ..." She said in desperation. He slid his hands around the sides of her head and after glancing up and down the hallway making sure no one was looking he turned her head up to his. "I can't help it. It's how I feel." "How long have you felt like this?" She asked, her eyes searching his for answers. "A long time." He whispered. "How long?" "Does it matter? What matters is that I want you. I want to kiss you. Can I kiss you? Just once before you marry him." She closed her eyes as his mouth descended upon hers, his lips first brushing hers sending shivers up and down her spine then he pressed them more urgently against hers. Her arms were pinned to her sides by her fright though she had an urge to slip them around his waist. Her whole being was paralyzed by his kiss and a fear of being caught. After an endless moment he pulled back slightly. "You are so beautiful. Tell me that kiss didn't mean something to you?" Alex said nothing, just kept her eyes closed breathing heavily into his face. "Would you like to sneak away and have a moment before the ceremony?" He whispered. Her eyes popped open and she frowned. "Okay, forget that. I know you have to go but this is far from over Allie. Just don't forget how I feel about you." He pressed his mouth to hers once more for a deep seated kiss that included his tongue wiggling it's way between her lips and mingling briefly with hers. He dropped his hands from her head and took a step backwards. Alex swooned forward briefly. Josh reached out and held her by the shoulders. "Are you going to be okay?" He asked. She cleared her throat and swallowed hard. "Umm yeah." She said softly before turning and literally sprinting to the women's room, pushing the door open and slipping inside. ------------------------------------------------- Dave the doorman held the front door of the condo open to Alex and she breezed through. "Hey Dave. Are they home?" She asked referring to Josh and January. They should have been home from their honeymoon two days ago but she was afraid to call. She wasn't sure she could pull off acting like nothing had transpired between her and Josh not only at her wedding but his. It was a terribly uncomfortable situation and one that she would have to work out in her own head. Jan had left three messages on her cell phone and Alex decided she'd better make an appearance or Jan might begin to suspect something was wrong. "Yes Ms. Portico, they've been back for a few days now." Dave said pressing the elevator button for her, tipping his cap and then returning to his place at the front door. The elevator arrived and Alex stepped in. As she went to press the button for the fourth floor she noticed her hand trembling. She sighed disgustedly, pressed the button and then held it in her other one. "Get a grip Alexandra ..." she muttered to herself as the lift ascended. She stood staring at the large foreboding wooden door before getting up the courage to knock. The door swung open and she was greeted by first the surprised face and then the smiling face of Josh. Alex felt her insides turn to mush. He leaned on the edge of the door. "Well, hello ..." He said in a low voice. Nervously Alex tucked her hair behind her ear. "Is your wife home?" She said, accentuating the 'wife' part. He opened the door all the way and swept his arm down the hallway indicating she should enter. Alex brushed past him and entered the condo. She waited while he closed the door before meeting her in the hallway that led to the dining room. "She's not home." He said with a shrug. "Where is she?" Alex asked glancing around the house. "She went shopping." He said with a smile. Alex nodded. "Well would you tell her I stopped by?" She asked. Josh nodded. "Yes I will. But tell me you're not just going to run away ..." She blushed. "You know, we should probably talk about ... umm ... things since she's not here." He nodded again. "Yes, we should ..." "Josh, this is just wrong, you and I. If you loved me as much as you say you do then you never should have married Jan. We can't go on like this. As it is I'm afraid to be alone with you." He reached forward, grabbed her hand and pulled her to him. "I had to marry her, Allie, just like you had to marry Darren. Everything had already been set in motion months ago and by the time I realized how attracted I was to you the invites had been sent out. What was I going to do?" She trembled nervously as she stood there in his arms in the dining room of her best friend's house. January could burst through the door at any minute and catch them there ... "No, Josh, this is wrong on many levels." He kissed her softly. "Josh ..." she protested but before she could say anything else his pressed his mouth on hers again. "But it's right on many levels too, Allie. Tell me you don't feel something between us ... tell me my kisses don't affect you ..." His lips slid effortless across hers, tickling and as his kisses deepened she fell into him, drunk with a momentary wave of desire. He slipped his tongue between her lips and slid it against hers. She moaned softly and then pressed at his chest. "Josh, please ..." She begged. "You want me too, oh God, Allie ... it's there! I felt it." She felt tears stinging under her lids and she closed her eyes. "Can you feel how much I want you?" He pressed his hand against her behind and pushed his hips against her. She felt a large knot safely tucked away under the fabric of his tight jeans. Her heart thumped wildly in her chest as her passion manifested itself between her legs in the form of a warm wetness that was now becoming uncomfortable. "I can't do this." She said and detached herself from him. "Please tell Jan I stopped by." She called as she headed quickly for the door. "Allie, wait!" He called as she pulled open the front door and escaped. The door slammed and then she was gone. Josh sighed and pinched his lips together. She had been wearing some sort of flavored lipstick, it was grape ... it tasted good. He smiled. She would come to her senses, he thought to himself. She wanted him as badly as he wanted her - he was sure of it; he felt it in the way she kissed him back, her soft moan ... she was denying her attraction but she would come around ... ------------------------------------------------- "Dinner was delightful." Alex said to Josh as he walked her to the door of her house after a fantastic meal at a local restaurant. "So how long is Jan going to be gone?" She leaned back on her front door and regarding him with hooded eyes not wanting him to see the desire that was flickering behind them. He shrugged. "Maybe a month." She nodded and look past him at the small forest of trees that grew on the edge of her property, shielding her from prying eyes. "How about Darren?" Her turn to shrug. "Couple weeks." That was his cue ... he leaned forward to kiss her and she pressed her fingers against his lips halting him. "Nope, no kissing. We're trying to slow down this speeding train, remember?" He grabbed her hand and slipped her index finger into his mouth, wrapped his tongue around it and began to suck. She giggled. When he felt he'd finished with that one replaced it with another then another. She groaned softly. "Why are you doing this to me?" He ran his tongue down the palm of her hand to her wrist where he made tiny little circles on it until she couldn't stand it any longer. She slipped her arms around his neck and pulled his mouth down onto hers for a passionate kiss, her tongue delving deep into his mouth. He pushed her back against the door and rubbed his pelvis against her. He had a thick, hard knot in his pants and guided her hand there. "Josh, we can't. Not here ... not in my house ..." He held her head in his hands and made love to her mouth with his. "I want you badly." He moaned between kisses. "Please?" She reached behind her and pushed open the door. They fell inside, arms entwined, mouths sucking at each other. "Where's the bed?" He whispered. She shook her head. "No, not my bed." She had thought about it already and decided that she could never sleep there with her husband again without feeling the burden of deep-seated guilt. "Then where?" She thought for a moment as he nibbled at her chin then her neck, his jeans already undone, his massive, throbbing manhood sticking straight up out of them. She stroked the head of it with her thumb. She eyed the door to the garage then grabbed him and pulled him to it. "Here ..." Once inside he pushed her against the driver's side door of the SUV that was resting, cool and peaceful. She pulled at his jeans and they slid down his hips and she grabbed him and began to stroke him. He groaned as he fumbled with her jeans, they finally gave way and slid down her legs to the floor. She opened her legs for him and he ran his hand between them allowing one finger to slip between her slippery lips. "Josh ..." She moaned. He grabbed her by the waist and hoisted her up onto the hood of the car where he pulled her jeans off one leg, dropped down to his knees and pushed her thighs apart. She leaned back on her arms and moaned as he pressed his tongue against her wet opening. "Oh baby ..." As she became closer to her orgasm he took her clitoris between his lips and sucked gently and used the tip of his tongue to rub the end of it slightly bringing her to climax immediately. "Josh, I need you now!" She begged as her head swam and her body rocked with the force of it. He helped her down off the hood of the car and bent her over. She guided him inside her and began to pump himself quickly. His orgasm wasn't going to take long at this rate. "Harder!" She ordered, he obeyed and slammed himself against her. "More, Josh, oh God ..." He held her tightly around the waist as he rammed his body against her backside ... "I'm so close ..." He whispered. "Allie, baby ..." He came in a rush pulling her hips backward pressing himself tightly against her as he pulsated his love into her and groaned loudly. She fell forward on the car, her head fuzzy, vision blurred then suddenly she heard a loud hiss and a soft ringing in her ears, breathing became laborious. "Allie? Allie?" She barely heard Josh call before she lost consciousness briefly. Josh pulled out then grabbed her quickly as her body became limp like a rag doll. He held her in his arms and ran his fingers down her cheeks lightly. She opened her eyes and blinked a few times. "Are you okay?" He whispered. She blew air out of her mouth. "Holy shit, I passed out!" She said. He smiled and nodded. "Yeah ..." She stood up and grabbed her head. "Woah!" Alex laughed as she eyed Josh standing there naked from the waist down, pants pooled around his ankles. He planted his hands on his hips and made a face. "What's so funny?" He asked, knowing full well what the joke was. He bent down and pulled up his jeans then fastened them. Alex did the same. "Come here." He said and picked her up into his arms. "Show me the way to the bedroom, I'm going to tuck you in then I'm going to go." She led him up the stairs to her bedroom and towards the California King-sized bed. "Do you think the bed's big enough?" He said as he lay her down on it. She giggled. "Or is Darren so big that you lay on one side and he lays on the other and he can screw you from there?" "Cut it out, Josh!" She chastised. He leaned down on top of her and kissed her lips briefly. "I'm sorry. Just jealous." She nodded and draped her arms over his shoulder. "I know." She said. "Divorce your wife then you can have me." "You divorce your husband and you can have me." "You first." "No, you first." She laughed then her expression turned serious. "I want to fall asleep with you." She said. His eyes turned glassy and he nodded. "I know, me too." They were silent for some time then he stood. "I'd better go." She just eyed him sadly as he turned and headed out the door. She lay there for a moment and then scrambled to the head of the bed, opened the window and when she heard the front door close, called out to Josh. He turned, his keys in his hand and looked up at her. "Yeah?" He said. "Wait!" She pushed herself off the bed, ran back down the stairs and met him just as he was opening the door. She flew into his arms. He laughed. "What?" He asked with a giggle. "Can we go to a hotel or something for the night?" He thought for a moment, narrowing his eyes at her and pursing his lips. She traced little circles on the front of his shirt. She felt his arm tighten around her waist. "Yes! Let's do it!" He said finally. "Go get your stuff." She shook her head. "Let's not bring any stuff, let's get a toothbrush at the drug store or whatever. Let's just go ... now!" He led her out the front of the house and held the passenger side car door open as she climbed back in. Once she was safely inside he sprinted to the other side, got in and sped off, away from the looming house that grew smaller as they put distance between them and the house. Josh drove until they were safely out of the city and found a Holiday Inn with an outside entrance. He pulled into the parking lot and then turned to Alex. "You go in and register, you're less known than I am. When you're done, come back out and get me." He pulled her close, kissed her lightly and then sent her on her way. She left then came back in a short time with a key. He smiled and put the car in drive. "We're in the back, second floor." She said pointing him in the direction he needed to go. Josh parked the car and turned on the alarm before they let themselves into the locked hotel door and walked up the stairs. His cell phone went off as they were just nearing the second floor. "It's Jan." He said to Alexandra. "Answer it!" She snapped. He plucked the phone off the holder hooked onto the belt loop of his jeans and answered it. "Oh, hi honey. I'm at home." He said as Alex fumbled with the electronic key in the door. "Because I was in the bathroom." She looked at him and frowned. He shrugged. "I miss you too. Yes, of course." Alex finally got the door to work and went inside. "Okay, bye." He said as he followed her in and then hung up the phone. "What was that 'bathroom' thing all about?" She asked as she looked around the room. It wasn't the Hilton but it wasn't bad either and it would allow her to spend the night with Josh. It could have been a grungy room in a half-star motel and she wouldn't have cared. Josh chuckled and she looked at him, a half smile on her face. "She said she just called the house and I didn't answer." Alex nodded. It made more sense when he explained it. He tossed first his phone then his car keys down on the bedside table then pulled her down into his lap on the bed. "I love you, Josh." She said softly then slipped her arms around his neck and dipped her mouth to his. He kissed her, softly at first and then with more passion. She pulled back and licked her lips. "I love you too, Allie." He ran his hands up her waist, under her arms and then up and over them. "My beautiful Allie ..." She bent to his lips again and after a few minutes of kissing he pushed her backwards on the bed then slid up next to her. He pushed a few stray strands of hair from her face and kissed her again. Alex reached down, unsnapped her jeans and pushed them down some then pulled Josh's shirt over his head. He went back to kissing her. "I love to kiss you." He whispered as his lips brushed lightly across hers. He licked her mouth and then slid his tongue inside. He finished the task she'd started of discarding her clothes and once she was fully undressed he shed the rest of his own before crawling under the covers with her. "Oh God, does that feel good!" She squeaked as he pressed his now naked, warm body against hers. "You have a sexy body, Josh." She trailed her fingers up and down his back then over the small mound of his buttocks. "Not as good as it's gonna feel." He growled and crawled on top of her. He nudged her legs with his knee and she opened herself to him. They had made love probably nearing a hundred times and most of those times they were hurried and incomplete. As Josh entered her he wanted this one to last. He wanted to take his time and he was pleased that he wouldn't have bruises on his knees from kneeling on the ground or some other rocky, hard place. He leaned his forearms down alongside her head and hovered over her holding himself inside, not yet moving. Alex smiled at him and tipped her chin up so he could kiss her again. "We've got to do something about this." He sighed. She closed her eyes and pressed her lips together. Josh Groban: Forbidden Love Ch. 02 Alex woke up first and lay silent. She was disappointed in herself for having given in to her desires but ... she looked over at the handsome, sexy man who slept peacefully next to her ... she couldn't resist him. He had been a complete gentleman for almost a week proving to her that his love reached beyond the physicality and extended into the spiritual essence and after yesterday, having absolutely no inspiration to write she thought it may have been caused by the repression of her true feelings. In any case, he was too sexy to resist any longer and she refused to fight it. If he had lost his desire for her, if his love had faded during the time they were apart it would have killed her. She rolled onto her side and curled up closer to him. Without opening his eyes he slipped his arm around her and pulled her in. She sighed happily. He leaned down and kissed the top of her head. "Go back to sleep." She whispered. "I'm not awake." He whispered back and then smiled as she giggled. His eyes flickered open and he just lay staring at her. "Allie ..." he began and then stopped. "What?" She asked sliding her fingers into the curls on the side of his head that had been flattened by the pillow. She tugged at each one freeing them from the bondage of his head. It wasn't long before they sprung out like they should have. "I don't think I should mention it." He said softly, his eyes dampening. "I don't want to spoil the moment." She sighed and then kissed him lightly. "Then don't. Let's just enjoy this." She snuggled against him and closed her eyes. They slept a little longer and then before heading out for breakfast they made love once more. After breakfast they went to Josh's condo. He tossed his keys and his wallet down on the credenza by the door then pulled her into the living room with him. He sat her down on the couch and then sat across from her. "What's going on?" She asked carefully. He leaned his elbows down on his knees and the rubbed his hands together. "You promised me you would talk to me today about something." He said nervously. She felt slightly nauseated and swallowed hard. He could tell by the look that crossed her face she wasn't really keen on the idea. "Can we talk now?" He asked just in case she didn't want to. She nodded and swallowed again. He looked down at his hands and then back up at her. "About our lives." She took a deep breath. "I think, at this point I'm ready to say that I ..." he closed his eyes and prayed silently for strength. "I would be willing to divorce January if you would do the same. I think we should be together." He looked up at her and tried to decipher the look she was giving him. It was a faraway look and he hoped she was perhaps thinking about it. She looked down. "I don't know, Josh, I don't think I'm ready for that." He sighed, dejected and then rubbed his whiskered chin with the tips of his fingers. "Don't think I don't love you ... because I do." He leaped off the couch and slid down in front of her on his knees. "Then let's do it, let's get divorced so we can be together. I love you; you love me, what more do you need?" He took her hands into his and kissed each one. She blinked back the tears that were threatening to spill. "Allie ..." He sighed and lay his head down in her lap. She stroked his hair. "I want to be with you. We should be together." "I can't do it right now." She said tearfully. "Darren would be crushed. I can't do that to him. I wish you could understand that." He lifted his head and stood pulling her up with him. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her tight against him. "I do understand baby, I do. And I'm sorry about the things I said before Darren left. I will try to curb my tongue. Just please don't cut me off from you again. I can't live without you." She looked up at him, her eyes damp. "I won't. I couldn't." He bent to her mouth and kissed her lovingly. ------------------------------- Alex did a search on the Internet and found the information she was looking for: Fibroids, balls of muscular tissue that can grow inside the uterus or on the uterine wall, are one of the most common reproductive health problems for women. Although they are referred to as tumors, they are benign and never become cancerous. On the other hand, fibroids may cause a range of problems, including pain, abnormal bleeding or infertility. She sighed. She had been diagnosed with fibroids just last year after suffering from painful cramping and unusual bleeding. Her doctor wanted to put her on hormones to treat them and gave her a prescription for birth control but she didn't have it filled right away and then eventually forgot she even had it. She worried when she met Darren and began having intercourse with him on a regular basis that she would get pregnant but in the six months they were together before they were married she was unsuccessful at getting pregnant and then three months into the marriage she was still barren ... until now. She got up from the computer went back to the bathroom, picked up the test stick and looked at it again. It hadn't changed since the last time she looked at it; the 'plus' sign still glared back at her. She sighed and made her way into the bedroom where she flopped backwards on the bed. She supposed it didn't help matters that she had constantly flooded her insides with sperm for the last three months. And most of it wasn't Darren's. She felt an overwhelming desire to cry and fought it. No, she was sure this wasn't his baby; considering the last time they made love was right before she menstruated the last time. She rolled over onto her belly and sobbed. How in the world could she tell him she was pregnant and not have him suspect that it wasn't his? He wasn't stupid by any means. And then there was Josh ... how would he feel? He was already pushing her to leave Darren. Did she even dare tell him the baby was his? These thoughts brought on another round of hysterics. It wasn't that she didn't want to have a baby, she did. She just wanted to have it when she was in one relationship not two. She heard her cell phone ringing downstairs and ignored it. Her body felt heavy and she was tired from crying. "What the hell am I going to do?" She said out loud. Alex turned back over onto her back and stared up at the ceiling until her eyes went out of focus. Not too long after that she fell into a deep sleep. She woke sometime after dark and dragged herself off the bed to change and brush her teeth. She lumbered sleepily down the stairs and turned off lights and locked the door. Her cell phone chirped at her indicating she had messages. She went to it and flipped through her missed calls to see who'd phoned. Josh, Josh, Darren, Josh, Josh, Josh ... she closed the phone and made her way back up to her bed, got into it and closed her eyes. She wanted to call Josh to let him know she was okay but was afraid that he'd worry if she didn't sound chipper and come right over. She sighed, opened the phone and dialed his number. "Where have you been?" He asked nervously. "I've been here." She said. "I was upstairs and my phone was downstairs." He sighed. "I was starting to worry sweetie." "No, don't. There's no reason to." She draped her arm over her eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm so tired I'm just going to go to bed." Alex heard him yawn. "I'm tired too. I'll come over tomorrow morning and we'll go for breakfast, okay?" He said. "Sure." She replied and then hung up. Josh kissed her pouting lips and waited for her response. When there was none he pressed his mouth against hers more forcefully. She moaned and kissed. "Wake up sleeping beauty." He whispered and stretched out next to her on the bed. Alex sat up quickly. "Get out of this bed Josh!" She snapped. He sighed and crawled back out of the bed. Kneeling down next to the bed he pushed her hair off her forehead then kissed it. "I'm sorry." She said softly as she gazed into his large eyes. Josh shrugged. "Its okay babe, I shouldn't have been in it. Just testing the waters I suppose." She played with his hair. "So what are you still doing in bed?" She sighed. "I didn't sleep well last night I guess." He slid his arms underneath her and pulled her to the end of the bed where he could access her lips. "Or you wanted me to find you here." He raised one eyebrow and then bent to her mouth. After moments of heating kissing he pulled her onto the floor next to the bed and began to make love to her. Alex pushed at him. "No, baby, no ..." He stopped. "Not in this bedroom." She sighed. He stood wordlessly, pulled her up to her feet and led her into the next bedroom down the hall. "How about this one?" He asked. She sighed and looked at him. "I'm not kidding!" Alex crossed her arms over her chest and frowned. She had laid awake a long time during the night wondering if and when she should tell Josh. She decided that she would, it was the when part she wasn't so clear on. She debated telling him now. Knowing how upset he would be she put that thought right out of her head. She didn't want him storming out in a rage. "Alex?" He said. She turned her head and looked at him. "I asked you a question." She blinked a few times. "I can't remember what it was." She said absently. He sighed. "Are you okay?" He asked tucking her champagne colored hair behind her ear. She nodded. "Yes. I'm okay; just tired." He slipped his arms around her. "How about I make love to you very gently and then you can fall asleep in my arms for a few hours?" He asked with a sly smile. She giggled. He tipped her head up and brushed his lips against hers lightly to start then more firmly as the kisses began to warm. He slid both hands underneath her bottom and pulled her up onto him. She wrapped her legs around his waist and he carried her to the bed. Laying her back gently he began to unbutton his shirt, his mouth never leaving hers. He pulled back and stood up long enough to undress then climbed into the small bed on top of her. "Now ..." he said as he pulled open the top of her pajamas and ran his tongue along her areola then sucked her nipple into his mouth; when he was done with the first he moved onto the second. Alex moaned her delight and encouraged, Josh made love to her, slowly, carefully just like he said he would and when they were finished he pulled her close to him and sang to her softly until he was sure she was asleep. He would have fallen asleep himself but his stomach kept growling indicating his hunger. It wasn't until a while later that he finally drifted off. Josh Groban: Forbidden Love Ch. 03 It had been more than a week that Alex found out she was pregnant but hadn't spoken a word of it to anyone. She was quite fatigued and after doing some research on the Internet found that fatigue was the most common side effect of pregnancy along with nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. She surprisingly only suffered from the fatigue and she supposed Josh benefited from that since she was forever falling asleep leaning against him, in his lap, or in his bed. It was Sunday morning and he came over early. After carrying her from her own bed to the guest bed he shed his clothes, crawled in and curled up against her where they fell back to sleep together. Once they woke, they dressed and headed out into town to have breakfast. They sat out on the patio of a local restaurant and ordered. "I'm going to have the strawberry pancakes ..." Alex said to the waiter. "With scrambled eggs, a slice of ham, and bacon." The waiter looked at her then blinked and looked again. He repeated the order to her and then nodded slowly when she said that was correct. Josh looked at Alex and did a double take then gave the waiter his order. When he turned and walked away Josh laughed. "Obviously you're hungry this morning." He said and stirred cream into his coffee. Alex nodded. "Famished." She said and sipped her tea. He smiled. "Well okay then. So, darling, what should we do today?" He asked folding his hands in front of him. She shrugged. "It's a gorgeous day; we could go swimming in my pool." He nodded. "We could do that." He said. "Or we could go to the beach and swim." She nodded this time. "Whichever, I don't care. I just want to get away from here." He sat thinking about which he'd prefer when the waiter began to deliver the food. Josh watched with interest as Alex began to devour the pancakes. He'd never seen her eat like that in the year that he'd known her. His own breakfast was growing cold as he sat and observed. It wasn't long before she finished it and moved on to the eggs. By the time he was finished with his meal she had eaten nearly all of the food she'd ordered then sat back and puffed out her cheeks. "Whoa." She said and then laughed. "Holy shit, Allie, I think that was a world record for you." Josh said with a grin. "I was hungry." She giggled. "Obviously. Would you like the rest of mine?" He teased. She laughed and held up her hand. "Oh no thanks, I couldn't." Josh smiled then finished his breakfast. After he paid the bill they got into his car and headed for his condo. They had decided to go to the beach after all so Josh was going to change into his bathing trunks then they would head over to Alex's so she could change. As soon as Josh turned the corner he spied a limo out in front of his building and at that very moment January emerged from the back seat. "Oh fuck." He said. "What?" Alex said as Josh stopped the car on the side of the road. "January's home." He said disgusted. "Take me home, Josh, I don't want to see her. Take me home, please!" Alex said in a panic. Josh made a u-turn in the middle of the street and drove towards Laurel Canyon. He looked over and saw the distress on her face; she was breathing heavily, panting. "Allie, baby ..." He said reaching over and taking her hand. "Are you okay?" She turned towards him and frowned. "No, I'm not okay, Josh, we almost ran into your wife." He shrugged. "So? So we went out to breakfast, where's the harm in that?" She pulled her hand from his and turned away. "You just don't understand the gravity of this whole situation do you, Josh?" He felt his temper flare. "You know, you keep telling me that and I keep defending myself but you continue to think I'm a total idiot don't you?" He snapped. She clicked her tongue and sighed audibly. "No, I don't think you're an idiot, I think you just don't realize what torment this is for me." He shook his head. "Well, you have a choice here, Alexandra. I've offered it to you many times but you care too much about him." She flinched at his intonation of 'him'. It had been more then a month since they had fought over the divorce issue and their relationship had been quite pleasant until now. "Don't start that again." She muttered. "I don't need to start 'that' again." He said sarcastically. "It's never gone away, it'll never go away, it just goes on and on and on." His lips tightened and he frowned. "I'm sorry, Allie. I know you feel bad about it." He said, finally softening. "And the only thing I feel bad about is that it tortures you the way it does. I don't want to be married to her anymore. The only thing that keeps me from divorcing her is the fact that she's never here anyway. And until you're a free woman divorce isn't going to help anything." It grew silent in the car as he sped down the road towards Alex's house. He reached out and lightly touched her shoulder. She turned to face him and he saw that she had been crying. "Oh sweetie ..." He said softly. Looking ahead he found a place where he could pull over. He did and then put the car in park. Turning to her he smiled sadly. "I love you, Allie. I'm sorry about all of this and yeah, had I never said a word to you on your wedding day we wouldn't be in this ... predicament for lack of a better word." He sighed and after unbuckling her seat belt pulled her into his lap. Sliding his fingers into her silken hair he pulled her mouth down to his for a kiss. "But we're here and we're in love and we've got to be patient. Well I do at least." He gazed into her sparkling blue eyes and smiled. "Just know that whatever happens in this life, happens to us, to you, to me ... that I love you with every ounce of my being." She slid her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. "I love you too." She whispered. "I'm just scared." He smiled weakly. "I know you are and to be honest, I'm a little timid about the whole thing myself but I know how I feel about you and it couldn't be more real." After another kiss he let her slip back into her seat and after she was safely buckled in he pulled away. A short time after that he pulled up in front of her house. They both got out of the car. He pulled her to him for a kiss then he took off. Alex let herself into the house, dragged herself upstairs then lay on her bed and cried. The closer he got to the condo the more his gut ached. He not only didn't want to face his wife at this point in time, he wasn't anxious to see her either. He just felt like they didn't have anything in common anymore and his love for her had grown cold. Funny thing was, why hadn't she called to let him know that she was on her way or that she was here already? He glanced at his cell phone again and saw nothing. He pulled into the dark parking garage, parked the Porsche and headed up. Pretending not to know she was there he stuck his key into the lock on the door and turned. It wasn't locked. Taking a deep breath he pushed the door opened and prayed that his acting ability was just as strong as his singing one. Silently he moved through the house, frowning and acting suspicious. He feigned surprise when he saw her in the bedroom. "Jan?" He said with a mixture of shock and confusion. She had been folding clothes and stuffing them into her dresser drawers. She looked up and smiled. "Howdy stranger." She said moving towards him. A feeling of dread washed over him and he smiled forcefully. You can do this Groban ... he mentally encouraged himself and slid his arms around her when she approached. She leaned up for a kiss and as his mouth touched hers what he felt astounded him – he felt nothing. Even the last time they kissed he felt something ... even just a slight tingle. This time was different. He may as well have been kissing an aunt or an uncle. She pressed her mouth more firmly against his and though the kiss may have been what she considered to be sexual, he could not but he tried. "Well," She said pulling away and batting her eyelashes at him. "Did you miss that?" He smiled and nodded. "Of course." He said in a low voice. She felt her body ignite at his deep tone. "Did you?" She shook her head. "I'm kissing all the time, Josh, you forget I'm an actress." His first instinct was to roll his eyes and for a moment he started but stopped immediately when he realized what he was doing. "But your kisses are the best!" She clamped her mouth onto his once more. When she pulled at his shirt he groaned. She took it as a sign that he was anxious to make love to her; he meant it as a feeling of apprehension. He allowed her to undress him then she began to touch him all over. Surprising himself he had gone stiff. She grinned when she ran her hands down his belly and wrapped her fingers around it. "Oh you brought me something ..." she said and stroked him. He pushed her backward towards the bed anxious to get the act over with. With a deep sigh of resignation he undressed her, paying careful attention to her needs then made love to her. He had a tough time getting himself to climax because he'd already had sex once that day and she wasn't exactly Alexandra. When he closed his eyes she could be but as soon as he opened them she wasn't. Her moans were nothing like Alex's tiny squeaks of delight. Her body was bony instead of fleshy like Alex's. Josh closed his eyes and willed himself to concentrate. After a while he gave up, disengaged from her and rolled onto his back. "What's wrong?" She asked rolling over and toying with the hairs on his chest. He rubbed his face vigorously with his hands and sighed. "I don't know." He lied and offered no further explanation. He closed his eyes and felt frustration welling up inside him. "It's okay sweetie, it happens sometimes." She snuggled against him. "We'll try again later." Instinctively he slipped an arm around her. They lay silent for a while before Jan spoke again. "So where'd you go this morning so early?" "I had breakfast with my parents." He lied again. "You should have called me; I would have been home to greet you properly." She shrugged. "I really wanted to surprise you but it was me who was surprised." She said with a sigh. "Oh no, you surprised me. I thought someone had broken into our place." She giggled. "Were you going to sneak up on me and kill me?" She teased. He laughed. "Maybe." If she only knew how close to the truth that statement was ... She chuckled. "You can't kill me; I have a movie to finish." "So what's up with that? For how long are you here?" "I've got three whole weeks to spend with you!" She said giddy. He felt a burning sensation in his throat as stomach acid leaked into his esophagus; he swallowed then regretting doing so. "Excellent!" He exclaimed. "So tell me about the movie and about Fiji." Jan began to talk about the movie she was filming, a thriller set on a beautiful island retreat featuring several couples one of whom was terrorizing the others. She then gushed on and on about the beauty of the some 300 islands, the lush greens, the deep Caribbean blues, and pure white sand. Josh sighed hoping that one day he would be able to take Alex there and make love her on the 'pure white sand' as the Caribbean blue ocean washed up on the shore. Just picturing the two of them making out in the sand was enough to bring his body to life. He rolled over on top of January and slid himself inside her quickly making her gasp loudly. "Josh!" She moaned as he pumped himself in and out of her. In his mind he saw Alex in a bikini on the beach, strings holding everything together and he groaned. Easy on, easy off ... he thought. Pulling her down to the wet sand, he held her head in his hands, his mouth closing down on hers, their lips sliding together, tongues entwined. He slid his hands down her body until he reached the little strings on either side of her hips holding her suit together then lightly pulled. 'Josh ...' she moaned in his fantasy. He slid inside her and began to make love to her, the wind gently caressing his back and the sound of the ocean filling his ears. It wasn't long before he came throbbing inside her. He groaned with delight then rolled off January and flopped once again onto his back. "Well damn!" She exclaimed, her cheeks flushed pink with passion. "If describing the island gets you going that much I'll talk about it day and night." He laughed loudly ... if only she knew! "How's Alex?" She asked as if she had been reading his thoughts. "She's good. Darren left to go back out on tour about a month ago. Oh! They bought a house in Laurel Canyon." Jan sighed. "I want one." He felt a stabbing pain in his belly when she said it. "I want to see her." Jan said longingly. "Has she been writing?" Josh shrugged. "I don't know if she has been. I think she has ..." he knew damn well she hadn't written a thing since the two of them had been together. Why should she write about her fantasies when she was living them? He smirked. "The house is beautiful. You should see it!" "I want to!" She said. "Have you two been hanging out together much?" A pang of guilt swept through him and he felt his cheeks redden. "Some." He said. "We went to the museum about two months ago." "Oh, I'll bet that was fun!" She said but there was something about her tone he didn't like. "It was actually, I got to see the bog people." She frowned. "The what?" He laughed. Why did it seem like he was the only person in California that knew who the bog people were? "Bog people. Forget it, it's a long story." He said with a sigh. They lay in bed and talked for a while then Josh dressed and went to the piano while January put some of her clothes away. Some time after five they had dinner together in town then went back to the condo. They watched a movie and then crawled into bed, January wanting to have sex again with him and Josh wanting to have sex with Alexandra. Neither of them got what they wanted. "Alex!" January said loudly into the phone. Alex pulled it away from her ear and frowned. "Jan!" Alex returned the enthusiasm. "How's Fiji?" January sighed pleasantly. "Oh Alex, you've got to go there! Have Darren take you! You won't want to leave, God knows I didn't!" "I've seen pictures; I'll bet they just don't do it justice." "No, Alex, they don't! So what have you been up to?" Alex felt her cheeks redden at the question. "Not too much. Darren and I bought a house and I've been busy with that. Today I'm doing some cleaning and laundry." "Have you been writing? Because I need something to read out there! Your fans are waiting!" Alex laughed softly. "You know I haven't been able to write much. I haven't been feeling to well lately." "What's wrong dear?" Jan asked. "Headaches." Alex said simply. "Ahhhh ... you don't have one today do you?" Actually Alex was just feeling a nagging tension in her neck and pain making its way up the back of her head. "No. Today I'm good." She lied. "Great, because I'm coming over and bringing lunch!" Alex felt her heart speed up a notch. "Excellent. Do you know how to get here or should I give you directions?" "Don't bother Alex, Josh has graciously scrapped all his plans for the next three weeks so that he could devote all his free time to being with his wife and he said he would drive me there." Jealousy engulfed Alex and she pushed it away. There was no reason to be jealous of January when she herself wasn't willing to part with her own husband for Josh. "He's a sweetheart." Alex cooed. "I know! God, I missed him." Jan sighed. "His kisses, his body ... when we made love yesterday he was just fantastic! Alex's body warmed when she thought about Josh and his body. Since Darren left she had seen him every day, all day and they made love at least once each one of those days. Now she hadn't seen him in two days and she was aching for him. "It will be good to see you two." After discussing what time Jan would be there they hung up. "Great, just great." Alex muttered to herself and went back to her cleaning. Josh and January arrived around 3. After giving January the tour the three of them went outside to each lunch on the patio. After giving it much thought Josh decided to sit next to January so that he could stare at Alex. He'd considered sitting next to her so that he could smell her sweet perfume and feel her next to him but looking at her won out. As they ate, Jan gave the full report on the Fiji Islands and her new movie. Josh found himself gazing at Alex and when he caught her eye, smiled softly. Uncomfortable she looked away and focused on Jan but he was there in her peripheral vision, watching her. Halfway through the lunch she excused herself for a minute stating her need for more water with lemon. She grabbed the nearly empty pitcher off the table and headed inside. Going straight to the kitchen she held the pitcher under the running water and spied Josh as he entered the house. He headed straight down the hall towards the guest bathroom but passed it and entered the kitchen the other way. "Allie," he said moving up behind her and slipping his arms around her waist. "Josh!" She snapped and shut off the water quickly. "Stop that!" She turned and shoved him backwards. "What's wrong with you?" He held up his hands. "I've missed you!" He hissed. "Well I've missed you too but you don't see me trying to get caught." She seethed between gritted teeth. He blushed slightly. "And look at you, don't tell me you didn't wear that outfit on purpose!" He said indicating her cut off jean shorts and low cut spaghetti strap tank top. "I got hard the minute I walked in." He moved closer. She grabbed the pitcher of water off the counter and held it in front of her. "Don't come any closer or I swear I'll dump this whole thing on you. Then you can explain that to your wife!" He laughed. "I'll tell her I got lost trying to find the bathroom and peed myself." Alex cracked a smile and then frowned again. "Come into the living room and give me one little kiss." He begged. She sighed. "Fine, whatever." She said and followed him out of the kitchen. Once they were out of view he pulled her close and devoured her mouth. She moaned softly as his familiar mouth sucked at hers, his tongue sliding in between her lips. Coming to her senses she pulled away. "Dear God, Josh ..." she breathed. "I'm never going to survive three weeks with her here." He smiled and pulled at her but she held steady. "You will, I'll find a way to sneak out. You know I will." He said with a grin. She grabbed the pitcher of water. "I hope so." She muttered and headed back outside. Josh made his way into the bathroom then leaned against the closed bathroom door and groaned. He needed her badly and he needed her now! Unfastening his shorts he pulled them down and held himself in his hand. "Alex." He whispered. "I want you." He began to stroke himself and closed his eyes. He was back upstairs with her in his mind, rolling around in the guest bed, her naked body pressed against his as they were entwined in passion. His hand moved faster until he felt his orgasm impending and then he stopped and bent over the sink, his chest heaving, head swimming. No, he said to himself, I won't do it now; I'll save it for later and take it out on Jan. He saw Alex again as he closed his eyes, those tight denim cutoff shorts hugging her body and her even tighter tank top, breasts pushing forward, nipples taught. He caught himself stroking again but this time he was too weak to fight and emptied into the toilet with a soft groan. He sighed, annoyed with himself but feeling satisfied. Oh yeah, he decided adamantly that he would make time for her ... Jan or no Jan. After washing his hands he went back outside. Josh Groban: Forbidden Love "Please don't start right now, babe. Tomorrow, I promise we can talk about it tomorrow." She felt his lips against hers and slowly he began to rock his hips. She moaned as he made love to her, drinking her in, churning her up ... he kissed her mouth then her chin and down to her neck and as his orgasm developed, his breathing became more labored. He pushed himself up onto his hands and watched the pleasure he gave her with his body. If only he could give her his soul ... he would without question. "Allie, Allie baby ..." He moaned. She wrapped her legs around him and pulled him into her, holding him tight. "Come to me Josh, come ..." He closed his eyes and basked in the gratification of his second orgasm of the night. A low moan escaped him as he emptied himself into her then rolled over onto his back and sighed happily. She moved against him and he cradled her in his arm. "That was fantastic." She breathed. "And it feels so good to lay here with you." "Let's brush our teeth and whatnot and go to sleep." He said, pulled her close and kissed her forehead. They rolled off the bed and raced each other to the bathroom. Once they had their bedtime routines finished they raced back to the bed and climbed into it. Josh reached up and across Alex to turn out the light then lay back down pulling her close to him. It was pitch black in the room, he couldn't see anything. Just to be sure he held his hand up right in front of his face and still couldn't see it. "Wow, it's dark in here!" He said suddenly, breaking the silence. Alex giggled. "Are you afraid?" He laughed then clutched at her. "Yes! Please hold me." She tightened her arms around him. "Good night baby." He said and went to kiss her again but she yawned. He planted a kiss right in the middle of her open mouth. She laughed. "You are silly." She said. "I love you, Allie." He said. "I love you, Josh." Came a voice out of the dark ... ----------------------------------------- To be continued...
