"I Love a Kiger"
...a song parody by Actaeon

(Sung to the tune of Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger")

(Posted 6/7/97)

I grew up a horse-loving zoo
Spent long nights in the stable
Tried 'em all but they just wouldn't do
'Cuz the fire in their hearts was burned out

I moved along, seeking new fields
I tried to find a wild spirit
I got depressed by how easy they'd yield
They'd been tamed by an unthinking age

(chorus)
That's why I love the Kigers, they're the breed of my dreams
The domestics can't really do the wild thing
On the plains they will gallop from the hills to the streams
If I run fast enough, maybe I'll...love a Kiger

Late at night, cold sweat on my back
All around, mustangs breathing
Their nostrils flare, and I fear an attack
Till the nearest steps out from the herd...

(chorus)
It's the sire of the Kigers, come to see who I am
Why I dare to encroach upon his harem
We share breath for an hour while my heart skips a beat
Then he turns on his heels and runs off...with the Kigers

All alone, except for the rush
Of having been in their presence
I look around and I stop with a hush
When I see that my love has returned

(chorus)
In the eye of the Kiger, I see fire at last
In his heart, soul and body, passions smolder
Moving toward him, I see that he is waiting for me
To mount up for a ride in the heat...of the Kiger

In the eye of the Kiger (repeats out)...
