Notes on the FAQS and PIPS:

Admisistrivia from Remus:

9/16/96

All right...I've taken all of the contributions sent to me and rolled them into the FAQs. Thanks to everyone who provided information.

First, let's talk about Contributors. Whenever someone asked to be mentioned as a contributor, or I asked them and they agreed, I added their net name and address. I did not have time to ask everybody, however...so if you sent in a contribution and you would like to be listed, or your name is in there and you don't want to be listed, please let me know as soon as possible.

Second...who wants a copy? On my list of people to whom I should send the updated FAQs is Stasya and Valadan. If anyone else wants a copy of the FAQs, let me know and I'll send them to you.

Next, let's go through the Changes --

One big change was made to the Main FAQ: The removal of information on the anon.penet.fi server, which was recently closed down. :( I have tried to fill the space with useful information about other anonymous posting services and other alternatives. Hopefully this info will help.

Changes to the Music and Art PIP --

The Music and Art PIP is expanding at an exponential rate, thanks to everyone who sent in contributions. Many additions, here...I especially like some of the foreign film reviews that were sent to me. I also reformatted the document to get rid of that difficult-to-edit numbering scheme.

Changes to the Bibliography PIP --

Some good additions here, including publishing information on Nancy Friday's works...but I'd like to have more info on these classic fiction stories, if possible.

Changes to the Health PIP --

Grateful thanks go out to the person who sent me so much new information on Intestinal Parasites and Skin Conditions...are you *sure* you don't want to be listed as a contributor? Those sections have been completely re-written.

The entry for FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) has been removed; I've been told that disease is not contagious to humans.

Something makes me wonder, though...what is 'cat-scratch fever'? People scratched by a stray cat can come down with a flu-like infection. I thought that FIP was the explanation, but apparently it is not. Any info on this would be appreciated.

An additional section on Respiratory Infections has been added, with information supplied by 'Angelo'. There doesn't appear to be many health risks in this section...but if anyone has any more info to add here, I'll put it in.

Changes to the Law PIP --

A law classifying bestiality as "Sexual Assault in the fourth degree" was discovered in a Connecticut journal from 1985. The PIP had listed *no* laws against bestiality in Connecticut...meaning that the law either no longer exists, or that it was missed when Connecticut was researched. To be on the safe side, I added the law to the PIP, with a note that it existed at least until 1985. If anyone has any current knowledge of Connecticut law, and whether or not this law is still in force, please contact me.

One other change -- someone researched Mexican laws, and found none against bestiality. Fiesta time, south of the border... ;)

And the Big Change (Drumroll please... :) ) --

We now have a Dolphin How-To FAQ! I was against the idea of a Dolphin How-To, because I believed these animals were mostly just material for fantasies...but Dragon-wolfe Dolphinn, and his extensive knowledge of the subject, convinced me. The Dolphin PIP will be posted on the 26th...it's worth the wait. :)

As usual, any suggestions, contributions, gripes and general small talk will be happily handled with extreme slowness by your harried FAQ keeper. ;) Thanks again to everyone who sent in contributions...hope you enjoy the FAQs.
