Support General Launcher Problems FAQ [Read first!]

Because I keep explaining the same problems over and over again I made this topic. A future update to the installer/launcher will hopefully correct most of these issues.

I downloaded the launcher executable but nothing is happening.
On some PC's it happens that the installer just won't work. Be sure its not blocked for whatever reason. Right-click > Properties and see if there is an "Unblock" button. Otherwise, try downloading the launcher directly from http://download.amorousgame.com/download/?platform=windows. Also be sure to install it to its own directory!

I ran the launcher but nothing is happening.
This is usually an indication you are not running the game from an administrative account, which the launcher needs in order to show the browser interface. Luckily, there is a workaround which disables the interface, but still allows you to download and play the game. Follow the steps on the bottom of this post to start the launcher in offline mode.

I ran the launcher and a webpage opened, however its telling me the launcher is not running.
There are some browser that show this behavior, but not always. Reports have been about Mozilla Firefox and Opera, whereas Chrome and Internet Explorer work fine. From research it seems mostly people with NoScript are affected, particularly its ABE protection system.

• First, accept everything on the launcher-page, either temporary or permanently.
• Open up the NoScript options, click "Advanced", followed by "ABE"
• In the SYSTEM ruleset add the following below line "Accept from LOCAL": Accept from launcher.amorousgame.com
• Click "OK" and reload the page.

If that doesn't fix it, please try one of the other browser by simply copy/paste the url. Please drop a note here if you are affected by this and whether or not you have NoScript. If all else fails, you can try the beta launcher in nogui-mode (see below).

After logging in/skipping and downloading the game, the Play-button appears but it doesn't work or simply crashes the launcher.
The initial download is so big, that its very sensitive to corruption. Whats happening here is that the download finished, but the launcher wasn't able to extract the archive properly, and thus Play tries to start something that isn't there.

There are a few things you can try and/or check:

• Go to where the launcher is installed, look for the games/<game title>/public_windows folder. If it's there, just navigate to it and start <game title>.exe manually.
• If you cannot open the file, it's most likely corrupted. Remove version.txt and simply restart the launcher to redownload the game.

It seems that even after manually downloading the launcher, it still crashes or wont run (or: How do I run in offline-mode? How do I leave no traces in my browser history?)
Make a shortcut to the launcher and add "-nogui" to the target (or run it with that from a console window). This also acts as an offline mode. By adding -game "bbs" it will pick BBS over Amorous. By adding -game "fm" it will pick the Fursona Maker over Amorous.

Or you could download the SafeMode.zip attached to this post, extract it inside the Launcher-directory, and pick either of the 3 files to start the launcher properly.

The game itself seems to crash and/or is not performing as it should. How do I reinstall the game?
Go to where the launcher is installed, look for the games/<game title>/public_windows folder. Remove version.txt and simply restart the launcher to redownload the game.

Spoiler: Outdated

After logging in/skipping and downloading the game, the Play-button just opens a command-prompt saying "Thank you for testing".
You have been tester for the launcher I released earlier, thank you! However, you instaled the new launcher on top of it. The game now thinks you are already up-to-date. Simply remove version.txt and restart the launcher.
