Ripley takes young Naser and Lucy to the range and teaches them how to safely handle a gun.

Currently on my 4th Wani playthrough. Going for the true ending. I got E3 on my blind playthrough.

>"Yes, dear. I'll be careful." I say for the 40th time now
>Sam simply stares up at me with worry in her eyes.
>"It's for their own safety, Sam." I plead, yet again
>"What if one of us aren't around to protect them?" I huff
>Sam simply nods, relenting and letting me out the door behind her, kids in tow.
>"Where are we going, Daddy?" Lucy says, curiously.
>"You'll see soon, sweet tooth." I coo gently at her, picking up Naser in the process as he's been lagging behind.
>Lucy just recently had her 9th birthday and I decided that now'd be the time I needed to teach her to defend herself, Naser included. My time down at the station really ingrained into me how awful the true scum of the earth can be and I won't let either of my children go out unprepared. Not as long as I draw breath.
>A quick buckling in of the two joys into the car and off we are to the gun range. I plan to teach them both how to handle a firearm at the very least. Possibly see if I can get Lucy into some self defense classes once she's old enough.
>A short ride later and we pull up to the range. I'd already called ahead and had Jim, an older liopleurodon guy that happened to be a friend of Moe's make sure the place was clear today. He'd owed me a favor of keeping his tastes in women clear of Moe. I honestly doubt Moe would care he only dated Saurians 3x his weight but it bothers him so I promised I wouldn't bring it up.
>I get both the kids out of the car, still carrying Naser and holding Lucy by the hand and make my way in, greeting Jim at the front.
>"Heya Jim."
>"Nice to see you, Rip." He chimes back
>We exchange a quick nod, Jim knowing immediately to go get the equipment ready and I sign in to the range.
>After a quick peek into the back Jim's back, branding a small revolver and three sets of earmuffs, two small.
>I look down to Lucy and Naser and decide to tell them what we're doing now. I have to turn to face Lucy as she's hiding behind my leg, shy.

>"Alright you two winged monsters." I say, smiling deeply at them
>"We're gonna learn to shoot a gun, today. Just in case." I say, my face soft and expecting a reply.
>Lucy is excited but Naser is a bit confused. I explain in the best I can
>"Not everyone is a nice person. I want you two to learn to be able to defend yourself if you have to, okay?" I ask, my eyes pleading
>Lucy nods enthusiastically while Naser solemnly accepts. I go ahead and put him down as he's starting to weigh on my arms and Jim can keep an eye on him if he runs off now.
>I motion for the two to follow me as we head back into the range proper, handing them both a pair of earmuffs and showcasing how to properly put them on. I watch as the two follow suit. I double check anyway as bringing home a tinnitus ridden ptero-child would earn me a couple months on the couch minimum.
>Jim and I go over the motions of how dangerous these things actually are, hammering it home how they should only do this if they really want to hurt someone. This is not a toy.
>Thankfully they both understand the severity of a gun, and we get them situated and ready to fire, Naser going first.
>I place Naser on the stool Jim provided and place my hands on his, helping him steady the shot.
>"Alright, focus on what you're firing at, then tighten your arms as I taught you. Then pull. It's going to jump back and be scary, be ready." I calmly say as zero the sights down range.
>He steadies himself, locking his arms as instructed and pulls the trigger. Bang
>A hit, quite off target but it registered on the paper nonetheless.
>"Good job!" I say excitedly, Naser mirroring my enthusiasm back at me
>"Now do it one more time without my help, okay?" I say, letting go of the revolver and watching it dip as the weight sets into Naser's hands.
>"O-okay dad I will." he says quietly, turning back and repeating the process.

>A few moments of adjustment and hesitation and Naser finally decides he's ready to take the shot. Another shot rings out.
>The gun kicks way up, Naser not having the full strength to stop it. This shot was a miss. Naser looks up at me sadly.
>"One more go, okay? Put more strength into it this time." I reassure and help him re-aim down range.
>Another shot, this one on target, closer than the first. Naser looks up at me to gauge my reaction. I smile down at him and pat his shoulders.
>Lucy is practically vibrating out of her scales at me in anticipation. I set the revolver back on the table then help Naser off as it's Lucy's turn.
>"Can I fire by myself the first try daddy?" she asks at me, pleadingly.
>"Sure, princess." I say, bending easily to her begging. She still follows my guidance but I don't touch the revolver one bit.
>Pop. The shot goes straight on target. Barely missing a bullseye. The revolver barely kicks back at all either. She's a real natural. She looks up at me excitedly from the stool.
>"Very good, dear." I say, a pat on the head to seal the praise
>"Can I keep shooting?" she asks, expectantly.
>"Sure, go ahead." I say, turning to check how Naser's doing. He's wringing his hands slightly, I assume the kick hurt him slightly. I pull him in close to remind distract him.
>Another two shots, close together this time. Both on target, one bullseye the other up and to the left a bit. My little girl shoots better than I did when I started.
>I let a small chuckle out as I glance over at Jim, who's jaw is more or less dragging the ground.
>"She's a natural, Rip!" He exclaims
>"'Course she is." I swell with pride at Jim
>We spend the next hour or so drilling in gun safety and letting Lucy pop a few more rounds off into the targeting papers, her accuracy only getting better with practice.
>Jim pulls me aside for a moment in the lobby as the kids are sitting on the couch, waiting impatiently.

>"Rip, you really gotta see if she wants to compete." he says, as seriously as he can muster.
>"Sure, once she's old enough I'll ask." I confirm with Jim, clearly she's talented.
>Jim smiles deeply and pats me on the shoulder, sending me off.
>I reconvene with the children who are doing their best to not cause a ruckus in the lobby, and failing miserably. Both digging through the gun magazines left about.
>"Alright you two, we're going home." I raise my voice at the two, brimming with joy and pride.
>They both light up as they see me again both clinging tightly to me as we head out.
>As I'm buckling in Lucy she looks up at me, a tiredness on her face but happiness behind her eyes.
>"Can we come back, Daddy?" she asks, again putting on the biggest pleading eyes she can.
>"Of course, sweetheart." I say, as she hugs me while I'm finishing buckling her seatbelt.
>Sam's gonna kill me when she finds out Lucy wants to keep coming back.
