>I feel her hands around my throat. Claws digging into flesh. I gasp.
>"Last. Mistake." through gritted teeth she threatens to choke the life out of me. She's an actual psycho. I never thought ratting her out to Scaler would warrant this. I start to blur my vision.
>My survival instinct, honed through generations of my ancestors is activated. Unnatural strength hits me as I grab onto her wrists, pulling my legs up and pushing as hard as I can.
>I rip Mia off of me, her claws taking deep gashes as they come off but thankfully not deep enough to rip my jugular. She slams backwards into a glass case, shattering it.
>I scramble up to my feet and pant. Vision narrow and pointed right onto her. I expect her to instantly spring up and give chase.
>The first part happens but the following stuns me.
>She stands, takes a single step. Her eyes roll back into her head and she fall forward, limp.
>I then notice it. The thick glass shards all over her tail and back. Damp red spots forming all over. I choke back a retch and step away.
>Logic and reasoning are nowhere to be found as I almost sprint away. Anywhere but here. I don't get far.
>The shattering has brought commotion, and that commotion brought teachers. Namely Solly.
>A hairy log of an arm clotheslines me. I blink as I stagger back.
>"My god, Inco!" I stare up at him. I can barely see a trickle of his eyes. Worry.
>"We're off to the medic, STAT! CADET!" I'm about yanked off my feet and down the hall as I hear whispers start.
>I'm pulled into the nurses. She's nowhere to be seen. Solly, however, patches me up himself. I consider that his demeanor might not just be for show.
>As he works his bandaging magic I hear the door open. Expecting to see a nurse or a faculty member.
>The blue suit, shiny badge and holstered firearm put that to bed.
>"You're Mr. Nito?" The chubby officer speaks to me. Some sort of Anklyosaur, tan and wide addresses me.

>"Y-yeah?"
>"Come on, we need to talk." A ape hand keeps me seated.
>"Hold on. The boy's wounded." A hand gestures to me.
>The officer glances me over.
>"There's an ambulance out front. We can have some medics look you over." he huffs.
>This doesn't do much to dissuade Solly. He lets me go but follows as I'm escorted out. I glance to see the officer has his gun strap unhitched. Am... I a threat?
>I'm taken out front to a crowd. Students, faculty, parents and... I spy a camera crew. Oh god.
>I'm shielded by Solly as he stands in front of me as I'm walked down the stairs into the back of an ambulance. He hesitantly steps away as the police line comes up. His stance betrayed his want to accompany me but the angry looks from a line of officers forced his hand.
>As I get looked over by a few ambulance medics I look over. There's only one ambulance...where's Mia?
>I'm not allowed an answer as I'm laid back.
>"You're gonna need some stitches." I sigh as I'm strapped in, the medics chattering between themselves. The Anklyo officer steps into the back with me. His weight heaving the carriage.
>"My name is Officer Perez." he introduces himself. His voice a bit dry and distant.
>"Inco G. Nito. Guess you knew that." My voice comes out rough.
>"Don't speak." The medic who re-bandaged me glares down. I try to nod but can't move my neck muscles without pain.
>The ride is quick and silent. My mind rushes. I hope this is the end of it. I can't believe she'd actually do this to me.
>The carriage stops, I'm pulled out and into an elevator. Not long after it stops I'm wheeled right into a room as a few masked doctors come in, blue scrubs and several layers of protection.
>I'm told to hold still as everything is inspected and inserted, a cold stinging pain as a needle is pushed into my veins, painkiller relaxing my entire being.

>Being operated on conscious is...odd. I can feel the movement and motion but no pain. It takes but a minute and I'm set back up with instructions to keep my neck covered for at least a week.
>As I'm told this I hear a quiet click. I see a scowl from the doctor prescribing my recovery and glance to see his gaze on my arm. I look down and notice I've been handcuffed to the bed. I blink at it a few times and hear a voice.
>"Can't have you run off. Standard procedure. Sorry." Perez states, huffing.
>I give it a quick tug, it's really on there. I cock my head at it in confusion.
>"Why?" I speak again, my voice still hoarse.
>I look up to see a glance shared between the two. The doctor sighs and steps away as officer Perez takes his hat off. A rise starts in me. Police only take their hats off when something needs to be said. Some news delivered. Some terrible earth-shattering revelation laid.
>"You're under suspect of manslaughter."
>"W-What!?" I borderline shout
>"Miss Moretti did not make it out of your little scuffle. She was pronounced dead on the scene." I stare at him in horror.
>She...died?
>Wait she didn't just die but... I killed her. I slammed her into the case and killed her. Oh god.
>I vomit. It spews out of my mouth all over me. A herd of doctors rush in and words are shouted. Some at me. Some at the officer. I can't focus on them. I'm a murderer.
>The next thing I notice my mouth is extremely dry. It's very quiet and I'm staring up at the ceiling. I lean forward to see a few familiar faces in the room.
>The paynes minus Randy are here. Scaler and Solly, too. My movement is noticed instantly.
>I feel my hand squeezed and look over to a teary-eyed Liv nuzzling it.
>"You're okay... you're okay." her words pull double duty, assuaging me and herself.
>I almost rip my hand away from her. In disgust of myself, mainly. Her eyes are wet and in shock.
>"D-Don't." I meekly speak

>"Inco...?" Damien speaks now, the room shocked and silent.
>"I... I killed her."
>A gasp from Sophia, Liv's jaw gone slack and Damien completely beside himself.
>"W-what!?" He shouts.
>"I kicked her into the glass case. She didn't make it." Scaler excuses herself from the room.
>Silence is a poor word to describe the room. Silence is an absence of noise. This was the opposite of noise. Empty ringing.
>Solly banishes the aura with his voice.
>"I want to speak to Inco. Alone." he's calm and cold.
>There's a brief struggle. Insistence on being here but Sophia pulls the lot out at his request. Just him and I now.
>He walks over to me and gently places a hand on my shoulder.
>"You're gonna remember this forever." I shut my eyes hard.
>"Don't let it consume you." A squeeze. I look up to see he's taken his hat off, it now held against his chest.
>His gaze tells me all I need to know. This comes from experience. He's trying to help me help myself, like always. I breathe deep and take his words to heart.
>"It was self defense." The words are meant to relieve worry.
>I nod.
>He slowly removes his touch, allowing the room's previous occupants, minus Scaler, back in. I look up to see apprehensive looks all around. I give a weak nod as I'm hugged gently by Olivia, leaning over my lowered bed to do so. Her grasp avoiding my throat. I feel tears start to drain down my face.

Fin, off to lurk now /snoot/ Fun as always.
