>Liz brings her head to her hands just to pinch her brow. Damien doesn't break stance. Liz opens one eye to look over us.
>"Really?"
>"Cmon sweetie it'll be fun. Think of it as just hanging out." Damien pleads with her. Can't say I'm too pleased about this either but he won that bet about whether they'd rename that Dinorida sports team from the "Gators" after the pushback. Turns out a significant amount of barys came out in support of the name and here we are.
>"Why?" Liz pleads.
>"Well I haven't got to hang out with Liv in a while an-"
>"Then hang out with her. She's pretty much your sister." Liz sighs extremely tired.
>Damien just shrugs. Liz goes right back to pinching her brow.
>"Fine." The concession causes Damien to sprint over and pick up his heavily pregnant wife. Good god he's strong. They swivel about a while before he puts her down, blushing.
>"Alright I'll go hang with Olivia. Talk to ya later Nico." We share a quick fist bump as he hotfoots it out to his car. I look over to Liz who's looking at me unimpressed.
>"So how'd you get roped into this?" I find a touch of camaraderie.
>"Lost a bet. Not like I can shave my head so it's this." I gesture up at the dome. Liz smirks.
>"I suppose we haven't really spoken in a while. How's everything?" She asks as we move out to my car, the little restaurant we just had brunch at now being exited.
>"Can't complain at all. Olivia and I are doing amazing. Damien told you about the wedding, yeah?" I walk around the front of the car as I ask.
>"No but thankfully Olivia and I are friends on Facerock." I chuckle at the guys scatterbrained antics. Liz sighs but smiles.
>"So..." Liz leads as she tucks her head around to fit.
>"You two planning on...?" She taps her distended stomach.

>I beam. "Yup. Not sure when but we've already talked about it. She was worried for a bit about her condition being genetic but turns out it's something that only really shows in pure baryonyxs. Hybrids pretty much can't get it." I smile again at the remembrance of that day. Still think I have a few bruises on my back from her deathrolling me.
>"That wonderful!" Liz beams as we start out.
>"You have anything you wanted to do?" I ask my temporary-wife as I pull out of the parking lot.
>"Dealer's choice." I chuckle at her flat statement.
>"Beach?" I float.
>"Hmm." She ponders a moment. "Sure. No swimming, though." Sweet. Been meaning to soak some sun. I've been feeling extra pale lately.
>The drive is pretty short, the conversation during turns to Liz's current job. Or rather lack thereof.
>"I'm going crazy not being in the office." She huffs and runs a finger across the dash.
>"That bad?"
>"You have no idea. Doesn't help Damien fawns over me like I'm on my deathbed." The words coming out her mouth don't match her smiling expression.
>"Aww he's just worried." I slightly tease.
>"Tell him to be more worried about showing up to his own job on time. Might make it so they don't have to call the house every day." We share a snickering laugh as the beach comes into sight.
>I pull a couple of folding chairs I keep in the back for when Olivia and I come here and walk with Liz a short way down onto the crowded place. It take a bit of searching we get a mostly open spot not too far away from the entrance. Chairs set and I dig out the extra strength sunscreen.
>You get a curious bary poking at your flaking sunburns once and you learn to never offer the opportunity again. Those claws hurt.
>I lather my arms and head up well as Liz watches curiously.
>"Humans really have to do that?" I nod to her

>"That or I blister." I get a disgusted look back as she leans back in the little folding chair.
>'You take Olivia out here often?"
>"All the time. She loves swimming." I find myself leaning back as well.
>"Right. How's her job?" We start to flow into relaxation.
>"She didn't tell you?" I curiously point an eye her way.
>"I'd like to hear it from a different angle."
>"Explosive. So many offers and so many meetings." A touch of exhaustion comes with the phrase.
>"I get that. All the more fun, yeah?" I chuckle at her stance.
>We settle into a comfortable quiet, both borderline napping in the warm sunlight. My mental timer goes off stating I need to check on my wife swimming. I open my eyes to look out but quickly remember that she's off with Damien today.
>I glance back to see Liz in a bit of a strange position, neck splayed and head upside down. Sunning her neck I guess.
>"Liz?"
>"Snnrkk. Hmuh?" Her head does a 180 degree flip to right itself. Wonder if she sleeps like that all the time.
>"You ready to go?" I yawn partially through the sentence.
>She catches the yawn. "Yeeeeaaah. I think so."
>I check my phone for the time. Been about two hours. We've still got some time left for the day but I'm feeling rather lacking without my green jewel.
>"Any clue where those two might've gone today?" She stretches then answers.
>"Probably off to see one of those superhero movies." She's probably 100% right. I stand and fold my little chair up.
>I grab hers as well and we make our way up the steps and back into my car. I notice Liz on her phone as I'm loading the stuff back.
>"Hey actually Inco mind if we swing by your place? Damien left something there." Of course he did. No skin of my back, though.
>"Sure." I shortly answer and hop in, watching Liz do her little head curl thing.
>She notices my gaze this time.
>"Go ahead and ask." She checks her makeup in the mirror as I start the car.

>"Is there a set direction that brachios curl when they get in cars? Or like, side?" I heartily take up the offer.
>"Huh. I'd never considered it. Probably?" She folds her little pocket mirror up as she finishes her check.
>"What's it feel like?" I keep 'em coming.
>"Twist your own neck. It's just like that but continual." I do a little neck-sersize and ponder the feeling.
>"You get dizzy ever?" We're on the road now.
>"If I move too fast I can. Otherwise not really."
>"So.... how do you uh, wear... you know." I skirt the topic.
>"We get that one a lot. Necklaces go at the base. Chokers wherever and yes, some like to wear multiple." Question heartily and surprisingly non-confrontationally answered I'm content.
>She takes the pause as a moment to ask her own species based question.
>"So do humans really, um, bruise that easily?" I smirk.
>"Heard that from Liv did we?" Liz backtracks a bit.
>"N-no just read it online and was curious." Liar. Not that I mind answering.
>"Sure do. I can trip and turn purple."
>"That's awful." She's half sympathetic and half disgusted.
>"It's life. Small price to pay for not having to shed." The notion elicits a small scratching at her own scales.
>As the conversation dies the drive does as well. Not long and we've pulled into our little house. Nothing too fancy but it's ours and will eventually need to be shared with a third, hopefully.
>I pull into our driveway and notice Liz and Damien's car are on the road. Odd, thought we were here for something he left. I shrug it off and figure I'll find out once we're inside.
>I wait for Liz to get out of the car and unwind herself to full height as we walk to the front door.
>I push into the door to hear a cacophony of voices.
>"Surprise!" I lock up a bit as I notice a full party.
>The Payne's, Olivia's dad and even my own parents flank Olivia and Damien.
>My soon-to-be-wife is the first to speak.

>"Sorry for having to do this Inco but we thought it'd be nice to surprise you." I look to see several smiling expectant faces.
>I glance back to see Liz merely shrugging at me. She was certainly in on this.
>"What's all this?" I cough out.
>"You two are getting married, arentcha?" Sophia beams at us. I nod a bit confused.
>"Then let's celebrate! Cmon, Inco." Mom's the next to speak.
>I start to choke up a little as the party starts now that I've arrived. Olivia leads me by the hand into the kitchen where a small cake stands on the kitchen counter top.
>It's pretty plain and clearly homemade. Olivia whispers to me as all the guests get to know each other.
>"Aunt Sophia insisted we bake this for you. Love ya, Inco." I get a peck on my cheek as she wheels herself away from me to join the conversation our parents have started.
>I have to wipe my eyes as they threaten to start leaking onto the floor. I sniffle once more and return my resolve as I grab a knife to cut this cake.

Fin, off now. Was fun /snoot/ hopefully more tomorrow.
