>Well I can't say Volcano High was my first choice but the place is quite interesting. Full saurian student body. I take a deep breath and look up the steps, enjoying the view. I fumble with my DSLR a bit and take a snap of the place, looking and powerful. Shame they don't have a very good art department.
>I check the photo, not too bad. Little out of focus though. I start to pull the lens back up when I spy a very angry little woman through the viewfinder. I pull the camera down as a purple triceratops girl, seething in rage barks at me.
>"And who said you could take our photo?"
>W-what? I stumble back ready to explain myself as she's flanked quickly by two others.
>Gray ptero girl and pink raptor guy. The first just as prickly and sour, the guy trying to deflate the situation.
>His voice is calming, "Hey now I'm sure this was just some sort of misunderstanding." He glances to me and I nod along.
>I find my chance to defend myself. "I was just taking a photo of the school. First day and all." I fumble with the DSLR to show them the digital preview.
>The tricera girl squints and peers at it, folding her arms but accepting, begrudgingly. "Alright, fine. But don't let me catch you pointing that thing at us or you'll be picking the pieces of it off the ground."
>The raptor pipes in, "Relax, Trish. Anyway, sorry about all this amigo. Name's Reed, by the way. Catch you around?" I nod at him, returning with my own name.
>"Inco, good to meet you." It's a bit of a half-truth but he himself seems pretty nice to talk to even if the company he keeps is a bit...odd.
>Before he turns to leave he gives me a set of finger guns. I return fire. He smiles extremely widely as he does so.
>The ptero girl is already moving back up the steps before he does but I find the purple girl lingering her gaze on a me a while, face in contemplation. She stays a while before shrugging, turning to follow along finally.

>I watch them go, making a turn at the top to circle around the building. A voice clears it's throat beside me, startling me slightly. I glance to see a parasaur girl, orange and smiling at me widely. I still my heart as she speaks.
>"Hiya, Inco, right? I'm Naomi." I perk up. She must be my welcoming party. I excitedly answer.
>"Yes ma'am. Good to meet you." She smiles as another figure steps forward, a ptero-guy this time, brown with a shaved head.
>"Hello. I'm Naser and we're here to help you get settled." He offers a hand and I shake enthusiastically. Holy hell his grip's strong.
>Naomi speaks as we finish, "I hope you have a wonderful time at Volcano High, here." She palms me a pamphlet, detailing several things to see or do around the place, it's history and ways it can accommodate anyone. Wonderful.
>I pocket it and make a note to dig through the thing as she continues.
>"I'll be guiding you around for now, helping you get settled. If there's anything you need just go ahe-"
>She's cut off as Naser grabs her shoulder, "Hey, babe?"
>"Mhm?" She calls back.
>He points to two students attempting to drag a stage-speaker up the stairs before speaking, "Gotta deal with that. See you at lunch?"
>She sighs but nods at him as they rub snouts. Must be how dinos kiss. Adorable.
>He trots off, yelling as he does so.
>Naomi takes a moment to compose herself before resuming. "Right, if you need anything feel free to ask. Now Principal Spears asked me to pull you by to make sure everything is in order." She pleads quietly with her eyes. I go right along, not that I'm busy.
>She chatters the entire way about several interesting facts and historical moments about this place. Rich history and rather intriguing as well. My artistic instincts kick in and I start to mentally frame some photos. I could really make this place look good.
>Finally we arrive at a closed door, labeled "Spears." Naomi taps on it, calling out.
>"Principal Spears I've brought Inco by."

>"BUSY! COME BACK TOMORROW!" I'm almost knocked off my feet by the power in his voice. Holy cow if he sounds like that I dread to see what he looks like.
>As I regain my composure another yell drones from inside, feminine.
>"The hell do you mean I have to clean up after!?" He's really busy indeed.
>I glance over to see Naomi's face flash to extreme annoyance before hitting neutral. I get that, I do.
>She speaks again, bubbly still, "Well that's unfortunate. Please swing by tomorrow morning if you can, okay?" I nod at her as she checks her phone, gasping at the time.
>"Oh dear we're almost late. I'll talk to you later, okay?" I nod to her as she scrambles off.
>First class is English with a "Mr. Tsuki."
>I move on over to the room and get there just as the bell rings. Cut it real close. He's real hard to understand. Thick accent but I do my best and focus. Introductions are easy, as always and the class flows rather well.
>Next up is Social Studies and when I enter I spy the purple triceratops girl on her phone in the back. Funny coincidence. I start to pick out a seat but the teacher, some yellow raptor calls out.
>"Mr Nito, correct? I'm sorry but we have assigned seating. You'll be seated back next to Miss Jones, there." He points and she scowls at me.
>I nod as I take my seat, looking up to the front. A Mr. Mirdban teaches this class it seems. As I settle in I feel a set of eyes on me.
>I ready for some apology or nice words to try to make better friends but when I turn to her she's instead just looking curiously at me. No heat nor accusation.
>She asks about the camera that hangs from my neck, "So you're into photography?"
>I smile and find my way in. Time to share.
>"Absolutely! There's a real art to framing and setting up a shot. You'd be surprised at how much effort and expense goes into a real photoshoot."
>That's got her attention. Phone's down now and she's fully interested.
>"Professional photoshoot?" I beam and prepare to flaunt it.

>"Yup. Lightning and framing take a lot of equipment and setup." She leans back, smirking at me.
>"And you've done that?"
>I shrug, "Sort've. I've used the things but haven't done anything that wasn't for practice, ya know?"
>She nods slowly before speaking again. "Hey, why don't you take a photo of me with the thing?" I blink at her, surprised at her sudden flipping on the stance.
>I ask, "You want me to?"
>She folds her arms, "Sure, lets see if you're any good." She strikes a pose as I focus in, snapping a shot or two and checking the digital display. Looks alright so far.
>She leans over for me to show her. I get a bit nervous about the things and idly chatter away about them not being fully done yet.
>"They'll look even better once I get them processed and corrected." She looks me dead in the face, surprised.
>"Oh you do that, too?" I nod, confirming.
>"All part of the process. I'm no professional photo editor but I can at least make the colors look good." I shrug as she smiles at me, laughing.
>"How about that." She eyes the camera once more before speaking.
>"You ever shot any live events?" That's an interesting question. Unfortunately I have to tell her no.
>"I haven't." She perks.
>"Would you like to?"
>"Huh?"
>She pulls her phone out again, going back to it as she gives me a tidbit of information.
>"Come by the auditorium after school. My band is having a session." My jaw almost drops to the floor. Band? That's so cool!
>I smile wide at her as I go back to looking forward, class now officially starting. Photographing a band as they play sounds amazing. Wonder what kind of music they play? I have a million and one questions but have to hold them in. Excitement floods me as class progresses.
>Next is math and as I stand to leave the tricera girl introduces herself fully, grabbing her backpack as she does.
>"Trish." I nod and return my name.
>"Inco."
>She smiles and nods, "See ya around, skinnie."
Fin, setup.
