After some wacky occult stuff at the local fair Anon finds himself somewhere outside of time and space with three other guys that kind of look like him. They all chat about their current situation after prom.

>"Wow this place doesn't actually suck." Fang goes wide eyed at the setup. I smugly smirk at her, these were the only damned things to ever to back in rock bottom and like hell I was gonna miss one.
>"Told ya so." I chime back, lavishing my victory.
>"Thanks so much for bringing us along!" the lime-yellow stego chimes in. Can't say I was too happy about having her and Rosa along but they can keep to themselves just fine I suppose.
>"No problems, now lets go hit up a food stall. I'm feeling some artery clogging in my near future." I beam to the lot of the group. Rosa seem slightly displeased at this but we end up going anyway. The rest of the fair is phenomenal, much better than any I'd been to before. Being able to go on a full date with Fang like this raises my mood intensely. As the day begins to wind down Stella speaks, excitedly bouncing up and down and pointing.
>"Look! Look! A fortune teller." She points to a small stall with a cloaked figure hunched over a table containing a crystal ball. Great.
>I sigh "Alright Stella sure." she was on her best behaviour today so I guess I owe her this. Rosa sighs with me but Fang seems interested in the very least.
>We approach and the figure dishoods, revealing a weathered old man. He's blind. Must be good for the whole shtick.
>"Alright you lot, $20 for the group, one at a time." he waves us over. Must have heard us coming. Damned super powered blind people.
>Stella joyfully bounds over and pays for the group, planting her butt on the stool across the guy.
>"Alright, gimme your hand." he gestures out impatiently. Stella lets him take her hand and his other hand goes on the ball.
>"Huh, stars in your name and future, how funny. Oh and lay off the ice cream." he waves her off instantly. Wait did we ever call Stella by name in front of him?
>He points at Rosa next. "Come on then, I don't have all day." Stella bounds up and off the chair, skipping and Rosa replaces her. He repeats the process.

>"Kids. A lot. My god." he reels back shaking his head. Rosa looks slightly embarrassed. She returns to us. Fang's pointed at next.
>"Hmm. Apart yet together. Put your worries to bed." he says, giving her a thumbs up. Fang seems happy at this and it's my turn.
>I place my hand in his and as he touches the crystal ball he pauses.
>"...odd." he states, pulling his hand to his chin.
>"Odd?" I ask, he nods at me and reaches underneath the little clothed table and pulls a box out. He retrieves a stamp out of it, rolling it in ink and patting it on the back of my hand.
>"What?" I ask, surely a stamp means nothing to a blind man.
>"Relax, it's for later. Now let me see again." he gestures for me to plant my hand back on the table. A moment passes.
>"There we go. Fight for the one you love. That amber medallion picked is a winner by the way." he lets go and my eyes go beyond wide. How in the hell did he know that.
>Before I can speak he shoos me off. "Alright done with you lot, begone. Also you'll see about that stamp tonight, don't wash it off till morning."
>I shuffle away, still shocked.
>"Medallion?" Fang asks me
>"Oh uh nothing just something I'd bought recently." I can't believe he almost spoiled my gift like that, what the hell?
>"Weird old bastard." I mutter under my breath
>"Yeah, what a strange old Ptero he is." I blink at Fang.
>"He was a human." I state, Stella tilts her head at us.
>"No, he was a stego..." she trails off. The three of us stand in silence, Rosa ignoring this conversation.
>I end up parting ways with the group not long after, heading home. Still shaken from how the guy spoke to me.
>I don't dare wash the little black stamp off, symbols unknown and sprawling. I text Fang a while before finally finding my way to bed, shower postponed until morning.

>My dreams start fast and strong. I'm sitting in a cushioned steel chair. I glance around to note I'm in a featureless white room, fog and mist about. I spy three others in here with me. All human men.
>I can't see their faces, all obscured to me by fog. Strange. I sit and watch as one of the men clears his throat. He's large and wide, clearly works out. He's wearing a tan suit and I can see the hint of hair on his chin. He speaks.
>"Everything went alright. I love my life and my wife but we're not perfect. I still dream about the service and she still struggles with her self worth. We love each other more than anything and are expecting a child. Every day we move forward and every day I love her even more."
>How fucking sappy. Not exactly too bad though. Wonder who he's talking about.
>The next one speaks, this one smaller but still muscled. He's wearing a black sweater and jeans.
>"I'm alone. I broke it off and reap what I sow. Maybe it's for the better but it hurts. I rot away day by day. Maybe one day I'll find answers at the bottom of this bottle of rum." He says somberly.
>How dour. What a turn around from before. The mist is clearing slightly and I can see slightly better.
>Another voice speaks, this one from behind me. I can't turn my head.
>"I'm thriving. We beat life's tribulations and have a beautiful daughter. Relationships mended and future bright. I love my wife, Lucy."
>I freeze. That's Fang's name. The mist is clear enough to see now. The men in front of me share my face. My body seizes and blood goes cold. I look over the last me. He looks almost as I do now.
>"I might as well be dead. She left me, taking Naser and Naomi with her. I think every day about having chased after her that day. Down into oblivion."

>My heart goes to my throat as I look at him. He slowly and gently rolls up his pant leg, showing a bloodied wound. For some reason I recognize this as a gunshot wound. Why? My head and vision starts to swirl. I see scenes of things that haven't happened. A dress Lucy, no Fang, never wore. Naser looking up at me from a puddle of his own blood. Looking up at the stars laying next to Fang. Drinking beer on a beach. It's too much as I jolt awake.
>I pant as my eyes adjust. It's morning now. My heart settles finally. What the hell was that? The memory is already fading but one thing sticks out. If the three in front of me weren't "me" what about the one behind? I try to remember exactly what he said but the thought escapes back into dreamland before I can catch it. I remember the emotion and nothing else. Warmth. I smile down at the mark on my hand before quickly falling out of bed to wash it off.

Fin, was fun.
