About the Artist

Chris in the Navy Chris Sawyer

I was born in October of 1969. I grew up a total Sci-Fi nut, and worshiped the numerous artists of the genré. I marveled at their ability to create beautiful images from a simple pen, blank paper, and their limitless creativity. I began to doodle, and by age 12, I was fairly good. I would delight in drawing all my friends' Dungeon & Dragon characters. (D&D was all the rage in the early '80s.) By junior high my artistic interests trailed off, and by high school I rarely drew. The first image of the disc, a Dragon, was drawn in the final hours of my last day of high school. (I was desperately trying to pass the time!) Soon after, I was in Navy boot camp. During my Navy years, I discovered Furry art. Vicky Wyman's superb Xanadu trilogy, Jim Groat's Equine, and Red Shetland comics, and Roy Pounds II artwork greatly inspired me. Soon I was drawing again, and by '97 I was beginning to make fairly decent art again. : )

This Disc contains many pieces of art from private letters, sketchbooks, and personal drawings. This Collection chronicles my art from the past decade. I hope you have as much fun reviewing it, as I had making it.
