By the way,

Max is making a mold for Bronze casting. He's pouring a mixture of plaster and fine sand around a wax maquette. The mixture sets up super hard and is heat resistant. Once it sets up he bakes it upside down so the wax melts out. Then he pours molten bronze into the cavity.

Before I went to school for art, I wanted to build robots. Long story short. I messed up some old software upgrading my OS.

Step 1: install lego NXT programing software

Step 2: NXT install burns out MS Office for Mac

Step 3: Buy new MS Office

Step 4: discover I have to upgrade OS to install new Office

Step 5: Discover OS Catalina has burned out Adobe CS5.

AND the NXT program...

I have been slacking on upgrading my Mac for some time. And CS5 is HELLA old by now and glitchy AF. I have Clip Studio and that runs fine, I just need to learn how to use it. So everything is going to be delayed while I relearn to color comics and art. I might hand color art for a while. I have a ton of Copic pens, and I know how to use them. So just bear with me as I find my footing again.

so yes, Patreon has to now take sales taxes.

in only certain states.

Each state is rolling out it’s own weirdly and wild interpretation of what is taxable, what isn’t, and at what rate.

Some states only physical goods are taxable, and some states includes digital content.

Cause Patreon isn’t just dumping this on our laps and saying “good luck wit dat.”

They reached out to creators back in early April and worked with us about how this is going to be handled.

Essentially they gave us a tax tool box.

Since not everything falls into the same category of goods, they’re letting us set what taxable value each tier and each reward offers.

If I’m right, which happens sometimes (I swear), people at the $1 and $3 tier shouldn’t see any change to your pledge amount. If you do then whats 7% of 25 cents?

Seriously I don’t know, what do you call a three humped camel?

Every thing I offer at the first two Tiers is either Discord, requests, or early access.

I can’t find anywhere in any of the laws that says those things are taxable or even considered “Digital goods”.

People at the $10 Tier, at most you may have to pay 20 cents extra. Some of you may find you live in a state where Digital items have their own tax rate, at which you will be paying 2 cents extra a month.

Not even enough for your governor to buy bubble gum.

Honestly, compared to Patreon last “great upheaval” this is being handled pretty well.

They gave the creators the power to mitigate this issue and make things bearable for you our patrons.

I want to get more people interested in "Her Tiger Pajama's". I'm not that good at social media marketing, small talk is something I have trouble with. Case in point: Discord. I would like to repost the older pages from HTP in Black & White on Tiger Thighs, Instigram, dev-art, twitter, and Furraffinity. It would be a weekly post, low res and in black & white. Patreon supporters would still get the comic in full color and two years before anyone else, plus request status.

This year I want to take on the Inktober Challenge and I need your help.

Inktober is the brain child of Jake Parker (Look this guy up, his art is Awesome!)

Every year a group of artists try to draw and ink a sketch a day for the whole month of October. They're given prompts and let loose.

Since I already have themes, I need subjects. Namely people.

Now I mentioned earlier about the tenant that stealth was unfair in combat.

Removing a person or persons from harm is not combat. Therefore a hostage rescue is exempt from this rule.

She and Prince Ser Singa took down the reptilian rebellion. And the coup de tete that followed.

And rumors spread that she and the prince had fallen in love.

An accusation that could cost her more than her Warcaptain commission, but her life.

When Nina was very young. Her village was on the front line of the war known as the reptilian rebellion. Some reptiles felt it was their given privilege to consume "lessor" beings such as the smaller mammals. It was a bloody conflict that had lasting repercussions for years to come.

Nina joined the Tontin sisterhood when she was in her early teens. Like most who join monastic orders she was escaping from a troubled family dynamic. For Nina though, an early childhood memory drove her to pursue the Warcaptains.

I was playing a lot of Warmachine when I made this comic. So if you are familiar with that game you know who Watts and Kraye are. And what faction I play.

I'm a fan of Luc Besson's Leon the Professional. The opening scene where Leon takes out a whole apartment full of thugs is primarily the inspiration for this comic.

I think I might redraw this. The backgrounds are confusing. He's walking through church pews.

Warcaptain philosophy dictates that stealth is unfair in combat. To that end a Warcaptain's sword has a series of loose rings set into the blade. The dJingle stick is used more like an old viking Ulfberht, its the force of the swing not the sharpness of the blade that does the cutting. A dJingle stick in the hands of a veteran Warcaptain can cut whole platoons to shreds.

Through out the city of Mainshaft there are a number of criminal gangs. The derby bucklers, the bakers dozen, the mercy louts, and Carnations. just to name a few.

The tattoos are a mark of the Tontin sisterhood. Each group within the sisterhood has their own design. The marks below the left eye are the mark the Warcaptains.

Warcaptains wear cloaks while out in public to disguise their armored uniforms. Although their bodies are hardened they wear armored rings and plates around strategic spots to protect weak points or strengthen their strikes.

The Warcaptains act as military specialists for the church of the clock. Through intense training they are capable of super human strength, heightened agility and are impervious to bladed and most projectile weapons. Their core stomach muscles are toned and developed in such a way as to give the impression of pregnancy.

The Tontin sisterhood is an order of nuns who specialize in midwifery. They sometimes provide surrogate mothers, and Concubines for the royal family. They also train elite warriors known as Warcaptains.

In the city of Mainshaft, the divide between classes is sometimes physical.

Some people are of normal height

Some people are twice as tall

For the next 25 days I will be taking a hiatus. I will be writing and catching up on work. This summer was better than last, but I still fell behind. The following is the Top-Tic mini story called "Warcaptain". It was a 24hour mini comic I wrote and drew in one day. It's a primer for a new comic series I have been working on since before Bridgette. Enjoy and I'll see you in 25 days.

I'm back from being sick for a week. So if you where wondering what was going on with requests and pin-up art, well short story. I was sick as a dawg.

Now that I'm back from the land of "urgh" I want to give you all a heads up about my summer schedule. With my kids home I have less time to draw buxom and bellied out babes during the day. I can still handle things at night after people are in bed, but I have a backlog of Pin-up art to get through. I fell obligated to finish the art for the $10 backers first. Also I have to maintain the comic.

Sitting on a table due to all the chairs being filled with books or other unfinished projects. Decided to start rearranging furniture for the great studio catharsis. Little premature cause I still have four pages left for the next chapter of “Her tiger pajama’s”. Just sawed the legs off to make a table shorter so it can nest next to my drafting desk. I may be creating an even more claustrophobic suffocating hell.

Technically we where the same age, but in different places in life. It was very awkward and at times uncomfortable. While the experience matured me, I look back at it with greater understanding of why it was doomed from the start.

I'm not all that great with socializing. Causal conversation is not my forte.

There was this weird moment in time when I was a kid when this new type of plastic was on the market. Toy companies used it for gossamer wings and such. But it was super brittle. I had a toy called Sectaurs which was bug people who rode on wasps and spiders. Really cool idea, look it up. But the wings on the bug pets would break almost the moment you took it out of the box. Which made for a very tearful Christmas morning. My wife had the same problem because they used the same plastic on the early "My Little Pony" fairy wing horses. She too had a somber broken toy Christmas. Although Toys today lack the innovation and wealth of diversity, they are much more durable.

I’m camping out today working on a new comic series that I’ve been stewing since before Bridgette’s belly. I came across an old note about a sub plot I had toyed with. Benji was largely inspired by my own son and some of Benji’s dialogue and taken straight from Ian. One time we went to a flea market, Ian (age 5) found a vintage Go-Bot toy for a couple of bucks and was ECSTATIC to buy it. He took it home named it “Rock Pecker” and slept with it like a teddy bear. Rock Pecker was the first in a very long line of vintage go-bot and transformer toys purchased at yard sales, flea markets, and thrift stores. Although I never used this idea, I did have a vintage Go-bot make a cameo appearance. In the diner incident when Benji yells at Ohmar, Benji is playing with “Zeemon” a super go-bot toy I had as a kid. Maybe if I do another Bridgette short story, I’ll include this sub plot. We will see.

I thought I'd share a sketch I did of my D&D character Niss. She's a fifth level gnome sorceress I've been playing for almost eight years now. I had to start her over when fifth edition came about. Every now and again I have fantasies of doing Game art. Maybe someday.

One of my favorite Bridgette pinups from the early days was one where she had fallen over forward. Her belly had gotten so big that it tipped her over and her legs flailed about uselessly. I wasn't happy with how I drew her butt though. In this redraw I fixed her butt and made her twice as big as before for good measure. Also I'm trying to remember to draw her tail. Seriously, I used to draw her with a tail. I got kinda lazy.

I'm inking illustrations tonight, but won't have a lot of free time to color until later in the week. If all fails you'll get double sketches next week. Sorry for the drop in schedule. Patreon is changing how it charges creators and patron pledges. Starting Dec 18, Patreon will add 2.9% + .35¢ service fee to all pledges made to creators. So if you pledge $1.00, Patreon will charge you $1.38, and those who are pledging at the $10 level will pay $10.64. This may seem like a lot, but what Patreon is trying to do is even out the fees incurred by various credit cards and banks and send more of that dollar to its creators. So instead of getting hit with a 7%-15% fee, I would only take a 5% fee. It breaks down like this; at $1.38, Patreon takes the .38¢ to pay for transaction fees, they take .05¢ to keep Patreon running, and I get .95¢ for delivering content.

Now, here’s the most important thing to know.

Don’t Panic.

Yes, Patreon is making you pay the bank fees and not me.

Her Tiger Pajama's is a light hearted romance about a guy and a girl who... well I don't want to give too much away. But it'll be a twelve chapter Patreon Exclusive. And I'm already two chapters into the series. I'm really excited about this new project. Once I got over the initial shock of not having to write and draw Bridgette anymore, I've been diving into new creative ventures with abandon. This is the first in a series of bi-monthly Pinup posts. It's also a litmus test of sorts to see how people respond to this pledge level. I will be adding more pledge Levels later that will make this level more of a deal. At least thats my hope. We shall see how this pans out and adjust as needed.

Now that Bridgette's Belly is over, I've been grappling with what the next step should be. I have some very solid plans that I'm actively working on. What I'm worried about is content. I feel I have two types of readers. One group who appreciates plus sized lead women, and the other who appreciates a more "super duper plus" sized lead women. I don't want to scare people away if do the "super duper plus" content. If I don't do that content, I risk losing backers. Honestly, I enjoy both. I love drawing fashionista and one piece bathing suits on sizes ?-20. And I love the cross contour a round weighty belly provides. What say you? Would you feel like I was objectifying the body? or do you think I should embrace the beauty of the curvaceous female form as my artistic muse?

Hey, just want to say thank you to those who have been supporting me. You people are awesome. July and August will wrap up Bridgette, but I'm already working on the next project. Too soon for details, but I think it's more in line with what I'm hearing people ask for.

As you all well know by now, Bridgette's Belly is ending with Volume #12. The comic has run it's natural course and is being brught to a tidy close. I plan a short hiatus over the summer months to spend with family and house related projects, but plan on returning in September. With a buffer in place you won't notice any downtime. I hope to have two new comics. One will be an ongoing action adventure series, and the other will be a series of multi chapter single volume comics with a popular theme. I'll have more on these projects as time goes by. I will be making changes to this Patreon page to facilitate the two new series in August and September. Meanwhile, let me know what your thoughts are as to what I should do next, comic wise.
