Most of my pages, I try to have something of a small contained narrative. Intro > Rising action > Climax > Resolution

But that just won't always be possible. This particular page is a transition; It directly references the text in the last, while also being a lead up to the next--and advancing the plot little on it's own, besides the name drop of Selene.

I hope the flow of this comic works right.

First I wanna say HUGE THANKS to everyone whose supported me and this comic so far. I've started multiple comic ideas in the past, only for them to putter out after a page or two. 5 pages, and at the conclusion of what I'd define as the first chapter, I feel I've come so much farther than before, and I have so many ideas for the future.

The next comic is due soon, but I am making the decision to take a short break on working on the comic for a couple of weeks.

Main reason for this is I'm in need of reorganizing my life a little, for the sake of efficiency and even just getting out of a rut I'm finding myself in. I've tried starting on the next page a few times but find myself easily distracted by life events.

I want to make sure my comic is always the best I can reasonably make it, so a short break is in order.

But in the meantime, I'll be posting some general art relating to Thousand Words, character design concepts and the like. Maybe some world building? Lemme know if there is something specific you'd like to see!

In any case, expect to the next page of A Thousand Words to be around the 19th or 26th.

Expect Page 4 sooner rather than later

Trying to refine the designs of my comic characters, and especially their relative heights. These are arguably the most central characters, at least for the current arc I have planned.

Page 2 is here! This official marks the furthest I've come in making a comic, and I have no plans of stopping anytime soon.

The background is mostly populated by the OCs of people in my VIP tier, so if you want in on that next time I do a crowd shot, now is your chance!

It occurred to me that I never posted this design update here on Patreon, so might as well do that, for the sake of completion.

It begins!

I really hope to be doing this comic for years, and this is just the humble start of something life-defining for me.

For you though, I hope you'll just enjoy the comic. Expect page 2 in a week or so, in which Erika will meet up with her best friend Rose.

Started as a warm-up sketch, and I just liked it too much to not color~

So fairly soon here, I'm going to be pivoting this Patreon to focus on developing my furry webcomic (featuring Erika).

So the main question is, what do you all think would be appropriate benefits for pledge tiers?

$10 early access to new pages? How early is early enough? Or should that be $5?

Currently, my $20 is basically grants access to a discord channel where I post WIPs can get early feedback from supporters, and I think that might stay at least.

What other kind of perks can I offer relating to the comic?

I'm still formulating what goals will allow me to justify how much time I can spend on this comic; in other words, how frequent. Currently, I can probably manage 1, *maybe* 2 whole comic pages a month, with higher goals granting more. I really wanna aim for getting 1 a week done.

So yeah, this is gonna be a big change; this has been my ultimate dream for being a creative online. I want it to be successful.

Any and all feedback you might have, I'll happily listen to.

Been wanting to draw Erika like one of those lofi beats videos (to study/sleep to), and it's finally done!

I really wanted to go for a detailed painted look, and this simultaneously feels short of what I wanted it to be and yet it's the peak of what I'm capable of right now.

I'm happy with it. And Erika is happy too. All is right in the world, for this brief moment.

Here’s some Sombra being daddy af! I don’t practice drawing guys enough, so this seemed alike a good opportunity.

I used to draw Sombra in full plate heavy armor with a big fuck-off sword like he was some kind of Fire Emblem final boss, but I really he’s much more magic oriented, so this design he is more Ganondorf by way of Frank Frazzetta, or at least it would be if I was drawing his whole body.

Still, I hope y`all enjoy something different from me.

Been meaning to draw this for way too long~

I while I was generally happy with the sketch, I worried the pose might be too simple to be compelling. SO MADE UP FOR IT WITH (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:・ﾟ ✧SPARKLES * ✧ ・ﾟ`✧ .

Erika is an energetic and outwardly confident young woman in search of her artist voice. She has a vested interest in photography, but lacks direction. She has a slight competitive streak, which most often is expressed in playing volleyball on her college team. Erika tends to be brazen and confident in every situation that doesn’t really matter, but struggles to assert herself when her emotions are really on the line.

This took me entirely too long to make (in fact, a supportive fan was willing to throw some $$$ my way to justify the time investment for me)

But it’s finally here–a proper model sheet for Erika, my most well developed OC and protagonist of“A Thousand Words”, a graphic novel I’m working on.

Working on this helped me nail down some design choices that have been ambiguous so far–and I even discovered a slight hair color change in the process!

This character, who strangely started out as a simple pin-up character I occasionally drew has evolved into a well-rounded and fully developed character (or at least is headed that way).

She is near and dear to my heart. And finally producing this piece makes her all the more real to me. (Also, it makes fanart easier :3c)

I drew most of this a month ago when drawing Elora was the hot new meme--I didn't like it much back then and never posted it.

With actual release of Spyro Reignited, I went back, touched up the image enough to be happy with it, and now I'm posting it for you guys!

I did a lot of thinking and I just feel this is the best decision I can make for myself right now.

The content I've been publishing lacks the polish I feel was appropriate for this venue, and the pressure to always create something with maximum universal appeal to everyone was both incredibly stressful and creatively limiting. It's not a sustainable way to run a patreon as it's both too vague and yet demanding. Which is why I kept changing things every other month; trying to find a system that actually fit.

So I need to take a step back and figure out a more specific brand of patreon content; something that I can plan months in advance and such--probably like an ongoing comic of some sort. Lord knows I have ideas.

But before I can do that I've got to get reorganized. So for the moment, this patreon is simply an ongoing tip-jar. I'll still be producing content in general, and anything of quality I do make I will be posting here. And like, if you're at the appropriate pledge and want hi-res versions of the images, all you gotta do is ask, and ye shall recieve.

For a while now I've been running this Patreon on the the "Per Content" method, which means you get charged for each for each content upload I make. And I've consistently done 2 uploads a month.

It has it's pros and cons, but I'm considering going back to the Monthly method, as some people have expressed hesitance about subscribing otherwise. I've also noticed my Patreon numbers drop, so it's perhaps something I want to consider.

Trying to keep all the AiM content consistent either each other is sorta

I've been doing Adventuring is Magic stuff on this Patreon for a very long time now.

It's all good fun, and I do enjoy it. But I've been doing it almost to the exclusion of everything else I could be drawing. That much repetition is starting to eat away at my creativity.

For her outfit, I wanted to channel something kind a spartan. And really, pegasi in this AU in general will be various flavors of Greece; which seems appropriate to me considering the origin of “pegasus” as well as Cloudsdale architecture in the canon show, which has some vaguely greek vibes to it.

Trying to get this one working was tricky, but I am really pleased with the

results. Remember this is AU starts with Twilight before meeting her

friends. That’s why she is both not an Alicorn, and why she lacks

Charisma. I imagine she puts some points into it Charisma pretty quickly though XD.

Okay so, I’m announcing my next set of Patreon Projects, titled “Adventuring is Magic”.

Basic premise is this; The Mane 6 as a party of adventures in a sword-and-sorcery type setting.

This is something that I’ve actually wanted to do for a long while, but haven’t been quite able to get around to. Now that I need to start making prints for vending at EQLA (hopefully), I need to produce some high-quality SFW work.

However, I will be offering “sexy” versions of each character’s armor/outfit as a Patreon goal; Think like the chain-mail bikini type concept, basically. (I suppose I can still offer nudes as well though, if people really want.)

As part of the project, I alo want to write up short set of stats for each character, maybe even a brief bit of backstory? This is, essentially an AU canon.

In anycase, I’ll be updating my Patreon soon to reflect this, and will be putting up a vote on the first character to work on. This WIP sketch of Rarity is a freebie, to demonstrate what I’m going for. The final products will be fully colored and such.
