I carry most of that stuff more or less on any remote forest walk, some times there is also a hunting rifle or shotgun with bandolier.

PS: I'm experimenting with small subtle changes to my dragon self design. From now on, Chara and I will have 5 fingers on forepaws and 4 on hindlegs(Chara has already gotten that update on the lastest couple journal pics ). Also the lower jaw and cheeks are no longer colored in light purple.

PPS: Oh, and there is a minor update on one of the older pics, I thought to upload it to FA and decided to toss some minor changes. made her thighs a bit less bulky, polished the slit a little(them females love that I hear xD) and added a SFW version x)

Something like that really did happen on my last forest trip :) I did catch a capercaillie burd with my bare hands after some good chase on foot x) This was a large male who could not fly because of a gun wound, he did run and jump like a crazed emu, though x) They run good, and some times prefer to hide in the thick undergrowth, rather than fly away. I had quite a pity after catching him, but he would not survive in the woods anyways, he would face much more gruesome end, than an axe swing.

PS: Chara does not seem to have much pity at all x) She is a huntress and that's her prey x)

Maybe I will update this mini-comic in the future, it could use better backgrounds, more refinement, and real colors, perhaps...

Hello, friends! :)

Another life post and journal entry. The August wasn't a bright month for me and Chara, that issue with eye pains has returned a lot worse, and plagued me for a while. I even had to go visit a doctor, despite the fear of visiting a hospital as a covid-infestation den. Luckily I still manage to avoid the virus, some of my friends were not... There wasn't anything too serious with the eye, but I definitely had to cut computer usage to necessary minimum yet again and wear an eye patch for a while. Spent that extra spare time listening to audio books and trying to get my car ready for the forest, if not for the endless rains, waaaay too much rain this year over here.. For artwork, that whole eye situation did not stop drawing, I just switched to pen and paper more and to studying. Only skipped like 4 or so days when the other good eye was running tears all day and it was no use x) Right now I'm okay. And if the rain would ever stop, I'd like to have at least a few days off, to go offroad, pick some berries and pine cones and recharge my soul energy in the wilds... Hopefully it would not end up like my last year's trip xD To remind you, this is how it went http://kodar.org/patreon/content/100/vacation-kinda.png The "black gryphon" is still down, waiting for a new engine... But the yellow toyota now is in a really good mechanical condition, it came a looong way from something taken out of a scrap yard to a reliable car. It should not fail me like that. Made a big update on this picture. Background scene and actors have been detailed, from blurry hints of "something out there" to per-pixel accuracy, space station textures, information screen all new and of course the Alien-kitty-thing herself has been updated. Also made her female bits more tight and elegant, but the "wide" extra version is still there with only a little touch to it. Was trying to make one more version with a male actor interacting with the Alien-Kitty-Thing, but it's still at doodles stage, can't find a working camera angle and pose yet.

Let's continue shaping up this weird world of dragons x) I was planning to release the Ice Dragons next, but, the project got stuck at drawing frozen stuff, it was ambitious and I clearly need more experience and knowledge in this specific area, so i'm going to leave the Ice Dragons for later, and I've created Steppe tribe instead. Which are also a step up in quality and resolution from the previous pictures of the series. And of course a usual wall of lore text(one day I hope to find/hire someone to fix grammar in there)

Steppe dragons are a tribe of nomads, roaming the endless plains of the west, far away from the Rift, careless and frisky, hunting the giant predatory birds, which are abundant there and are quite a nuisance, if not to say scourge of the land. Keeping the birds numbers in check is what dedicated groups of the Steppe Dragons do. They also protect some of the weaker creatures of the land from the bird menace. Steppe dragons are quite peculiar among dragonkind, they don't have wings, but are adapted for running, they got long and strong legs, big nostrils and relatively thin tail for a dragon. The palms and fingers are bulky and tough, especially on the males, they are not that flexible and dexterous to do craft and use tools very well. The body of the Steppe Dragons is covered in short brown fur with light underbelly and various dark stripes and spots along the hide, the neck, spine and underbelly are protected by thick scales, males are more armored than females, but females are much faster and agile. Some females are born with sabertooth, those are called "wawiji" and are usually trained to lead hunting parties. The steppe dragons have got upright vertical ears unlike other dragons, big eyes to spot their prey, they can see well in the dark, in fact, most of the hunting is happening under the stars, when the ferocious birds are sleeping and the least dangerous - doing the job with minimal risk is what the dragons are trained to do. Like the queen Naytah says, "You should not be proud of the scars, those are reminders that you were not prepared".

Steppe dragons form alliances with other intelligent species of the land, some of the equine species are intelligent too. By the ancient agreement with them, the dragons also do not hunt other herbivores, even the feral ones. Some of the other dragon tribes doubt that the wild horses of the steppes are truly intelligent, as they don't speak. But the steppe dragons disagree, they've developed a way to communicate with the horses and some times even live among the herds, defending them from the predatory birds and having some specific fun in return, like when all the males went on a hunting party, there is nothing better than a young mustang to entertain a bored and longing dragoness in heat. The mares also share their milk with the dragons, which they do like a lot.

Steppe dragons have got no regular settlements, their home is where the tail rests. But, there are ritual places built by them, the rings of stones, where they leave clawrite marks depicting everything important happened to the tribe and each member. Once a dragon matures, they would go to their family ring of stones and erect their own stone, from now on, once in a while, they would return there to write what's happened in their life, whom they've helped and what other good deeds they've done, and if their life would come to an end, their ashes would be buried underneath that same stone.

And the last but not least is magic. Steppe dragons are not among the greatest magicians of the dragonkind, learning magic finesse requires tools, books, workshops and schools, something that does not fit steppe dragons life style and physique well, but some of them are born with considerable raw magic power which they can throw into the most basic forms of spells, usually it's fire magic, and it's not only making but also stopping the fire around, without the dragons, sweeping steppe fires would have been a big disaster for all the living things there.

What happens under the sea, stays under the sea! x)

Trying to advance a bunch of more difficult, long-overdue projects lately, this is one of them.. This is the 2nd time ever I draw dolphins, and 9 of them at once, shaked the dust off my dolphin knowledge and studied a bit more.. Also, I don't think I ever drew an underwater scene before. This is going to be good for experience farming :)

Was learning some new coloring/texturing tricks on this. Also, drawing fur is far from perfect, the way I want to see it for the time spent. Made a couple more custom texture brushes now, but It doesn't quite look natural, unless you manually re-draw most of the hairs. The research will continue :)

"Clearing the room from spare parts heaps" proved to be a nearly impossible task, way too much work in such a small time frame, i've underestimated the amount of efforts needed, but once started I just HAD to finish and get this thing going again. But I did this, with Chara's help. And we're mobile again. Also the good thing is - my eyes had rested and healed well without the computer strain.

A little technical details for those among you who are interested and understand such things. Both front and rear solid axles were replaced, but before that, they undergone a full disassembly, repaint and restoration, so they look and perform nearly as good as new now, new seals, bearings, gaskets, repair kits etc... The old axles were a mess, the rear and front one have had a different gear ratio, front one was crudely fitted from a different car model, the rear one gears were damaged and failing slowly, brakes were ruined too, esp-ly the rear drum brakes, and worst of all, the crude suspension lift was done with lots of sloppy welding and angle grinder, which made the transfer housings unusable, I just had to tear the old axles out and replace them entirely, there was no fixing that... And that's not all... I've also replaced the gear box and transfer case and front shaft propeller, again with restoration on the used replacement ones I've got for a bargain price.

Well, in the end I have a mechanically reliable vehicle now with most of the parts serviced and rebuilt, except the engine, but it seems to be feeling okay and diagnosis did not detect any issues with it. Still, this thing looks like something that's came from a scrapyard, but the junky exterior and interior is something I can totally live with, as long as it gets the job done and mechanical parts are perfect, maybe the next year I will get to fix the looks too... For now I'm so happy I have the freedom to go in the city whenever needed again, and I know this truck isn't going to fail me. It did a good job staying alive all this time despite all the horrible state it was in, but this could not last forever, sooner or later something crucial would snap, it was even dangerous to drive this thing on the road as it was...

Well, another challenge has ended good. Much experience was gained, a lot of art was made. Even though much of this art could have used more time investment, and I had to upload pictures where I saw many flaws, just because there was a strict deadline. I will give some of them updates in the future too...

My health status is alright, the eye feels better now, I still put an eyepatch with meds before sleep, but I can use both the eyes during the day now.

What I'm going to do next, there are 3 full color projects to finish, dragon+lioness, dragon+dolphin and a solo dragoness. I'm also going to sort out all my patreon content, like from the very beginning. Everything up to this year will be dropped down to $1 tier, pictures re-allocated in proper folders on my host, those that still uploaded inline to patreon will be moved to my host too, everything above $1 will get a guest preview post - new patreon feature. I will use "notify patrons about the change" for all the pictures that would be dropped down to $1, sorry to the notifications spam in advance. There is a LOT of work, this will take a while, but it needs to be done...

Guess, who's back? The Creeeeep! xD Perhaps one of my most under-developed pictures from previous challenge, and experiment of layer-less layout too. Whoever keeps telling this is the way - bah, I just can't get it. So I just cut him off the canvas, spend some time into making a proper layers structure and have done a proper work. Also, he is going to find himself in my Dragontopia world x) And here goes his story! I don't have much time, so it won't be the longest one, but a bit less like encyclopedic description and more like a real story :)

The Creep - is what they called this creature. By "they", I mean the swamp hermit Hisen from the Cave Tribe, god knows how and why living at these god-forsaken lands and the dragoness Pinkerella, who happened to visit the place and brought back her journal. At first, Pinkerella has met the hermit, who lived in his crude dugout at the border of the Mushroom Forest and Bottomless Swamp. The hermit was known by the name Hisen before, but lost his mind a long time ago, it seems, and was calling himself "our tails". "Our tails knowss" - he said, "The EVIL has come into the forest, the Creep, yes, that's his name. Do you hear Our Tails tale? The tale from the tails, ke ke ke". Not much useful information could she get off him, all he cared and talked about was his bogfruit wine, the stench of mushrooms and bad tails puns. Finishing her mission was quickly becoming that much difficult. In the Ice Dragon tower, when preparing Pinkerella for the journey, they thought Hisen would help her locate the perfect place to install magical observation crystal, as all the cave dragons are naturally good at it. These lands were quickly becoming suspicious and troublesome, so the Ice Tribe was hiring many adventurers like Pinkerella for the job, to install a network of sentry crystals, little did they know of the cave dragon's state of mind. Frustrated and annoyed, Pinkerella has left the hut and moved deep into the forest, ear fins are trembling. You didn't have to be a wizard to sense evil in this place, this "evil" though was a bit like ... travesty? Like something mostly tries to scare you off, rather than actually harm, and not doing a good job at it. And then she has stumbled upon.. IT.. him... The Creep. Clearly a dragon, but of unknown tribe or origins, with body features and physique seems to be impossible to exist. With only one exception. The Creep must have come from the other side of the Rift itself! He did not speak dragon, and despite his horrible visage did not hurt the dragoness. When the Creep emerged from shadows, black tendrils swirling around, red smoke oozing from the glowing eyes, Pinkerella was shocked so much, she froze in fear shaking like a leaf on the wind. There was nothing on her journal and report, how they managed to communicate with each other later. All that's written is that the Creep has helped her find a hill, perfectly attuned to magic and install the crystal there. After that, she went back to the magic tower with report and to claim her payment, and then back to her own tribe, the rumors are that she was going to return to the mushroom forest. Who would ever go willingly at such a putrid place again anyways? The fact that the Creep could possibly come from the other side, did not interest Sky Domain tribe or Earth tribe much, for some reason. Pinkerella was saying they just did not believe her and thought she ate something bad and hallucinated, they didn't take her serious at all! But WE know a bit more, don't we. There is a mystery to solve yet...

And don't mind my room slowly turning into a garage workshop xD Since there is no actual garage(yet), I have to keep some of the spare parts I work with here x) This journal picture keeps getting tweaks and updates, I wonder how it will look like in a couple years x)

So, how the daily content challenge goes so far. I was trying to use 2 days 2 uploads model more this time, to give me more room to work at bigger pictures and to give the eyes more time to rest. Not much difference to be honest. I'm still trying to avoid starting something really challenging and important in fear that I will spend a whole day on attempts that bring no actual result to upload, also the eyes don't seem to have enough time to recover, will probably need at least 2 full days without staring locked into a computer screen to fully heal. But overall i'm feeling myself fine, still quite inspired with my dragon tribes series, and still not sure if the text descriptions are a good addition to them x) One and a half weeks left on that challenge now, I think I will have no big trouble finishing it in time, but I will postpone my most difficult projects until it's done.

With the virus and all, I've been to the city recently, and it seems the people are given up on quarantine and aren't following the rules, only like 1/4 of them are wearing masks and keep social distance, most of the places are open for business. I seriously hope my city isn't falling into a second wave of infestation, even bigger this time x) This is yet another case, when living in the forest has its own advantages x)

Was surfing through my unfinished projects library and found this. And decided to give it another chance at getting into release. This time, I have changed the dragoness' body and position, so she is actually doing something meaningful to the dolphin x) Also doubled the picture's resolution and put some more work overall into it. Only took me what, 4 years or so, to become this lewd? Used to be a shock-content before for some of my friends x)

Earth Dragons are the world's most famous artificers - smiths, mechanics, jewelers. And the only tribe who has mastered the art or machinery, electricity, masonry and steam power. While some other dragons may craft things of metal or even have the encyclopedic knowledge, only the Earth Dragons can make mechanisms and automatons which seem to look alive, like magic. The only downside to that is that the Earth Tribe are not quite hospitable to other dragons - surely they do trade and take jobs some times, but demand for that is much higher than supply, and no strangers are ever allowed to inner circle of the Earth tribe's life and business. They are nothing like the Fairy, Sea or Steppes Dragons, who have their home, where the tail rests, befriend any tribe dragon instantly and basically have no secrets - Earth Dragons always return to their home, because each of them has got a personal workshop and apartments to store the tools, books and materials - precious and guarded well.

Earth dragons also live in not quite welcoming place either. They cut and dig through the rock of the Rift's endless slopes. Naturally, the Rift itself is a spooky place any dragon would want to avoid(and for a good reason!), but the Earth Tribe has found it most useful as the Rift has sliced the planet's crust and opened its riches far and wide. Huge halls, countless workshops and long passageways brightly lit with electricity, spread deep on the northern side of the Rift, where the towering mountain ridge used to be, and where the Sky dragons lived a long time ago, now, torn asunder, it has become the home for the Earth Tribe and the Sky dragons live above on their floating islands. Southern side of the Rift has got some mines there but no living apartments, a colossal bridge made of the floating island material, connects the sides. Only the abundance of rare minerals at the southern side attracts the earth dragons there, for it is a perilous place to hang around, even by the Rift's standards - three nasty things happen there, the undead, the earthquakes and the wild magic which can animate rock golems and cause other trouble. The undead aren't a big threat, despite scary stories other folks tell each other, they are nothing but golems too, animated by the same magic that makes rock ones, but rotten flesh and brittle bones can barely move yet harm anyone. Also the undead are always smaller creatures, no undead dragon has ever been spotted. Still, it's a gutwrenching and most disgusting thing a dragon can observe, the zombies can also pose a threat to a wounded dragon and can spoil supplies. Rock golems are slow and easily avoided and destroyed quickly with some help of machinery, but the biggest threat are earthquakes, that may collapse even the strongest steel reinforced mine shaft. Dragons who work at the southern mines are experienced and tough folk, armed to the teeth with best automation and weapons.

Earth dragons personality is being calm and confident, a little fatalistic and to value simple pleasures, good food, trusted friends and plenty of booze to have a rest after a day of hard work makes them happy. They make the finest ale and rum in the north and have got a strong stomach - don't ever try to play a drinking game with an earth dragon! Usually the earth dragons are muscular and outer sides of the body are covered in thick scales, males are more armored than females. The hide is colored in all shades of smooth brown from nearly black to creamy beige. One interesting anatomical detail is that the earth dragons have got five fingers, rather than four fingers like most other dragons. On the mating dance, they are passionate and ingenious lovers, spending a lot of time with their chosen pair when in the right mood, they've also made many special toys designed for that purpose, some of them are indeed a work of art, envied by other tribes and told in whispers among the longing and lonely.

There are rumors of some special elite force squad exists, which explores the farthest depths of the Rift. Nobody knows what kind of threat they face and deal with there. But their equipment and physique would put even the southern miners to shame.

So, I was thinking to upload it to public but then I looked at it closely and I didn't like how it was unbalanced, with sketchy sharp lines and overall rushed product feel to it, during the last two days I made a big quality update, each frame has received a lot of work. Man my drawing paw and the eyes are sore now x) Nearly failed my challenge thing too, 1 hour away from that xD But I was determined to make it look good and in one piece update, not like WIPs iterations. Now, to have a rest.... :)

I've had this idea since I've discovered laser rust removal, there is portable device exists, which looks kind of like the one on my art here. Rust fighting is what I've been doing regularly half of my life, all I need now is the laser gun - all the rust shall be purged! xD

Sea dragons tribe inhabit the south seas mostly, where it's warm and rich with food, but can be spotted all across the ocean and even nearby the fresh water. Perhaps, this is the most numerous tribe overall, with many sub-species existing. Sea dragons come in grey, white, black, blue and green colors, which help them camouflage among the seaweed and in the water deeps, but usually grey with light underbelly. Some of them have got a set of fins ribbons along the body, they've also got webbed feet and a big fin on the tail. The fin ribbons are mostly a decoration, they can even shed them, if they're forced to live for too long above the water, and grow back again. They've got sleek rubbery skin, some times with bio-luminescent dots across it, the fins can be luminescent as well.

All of the sea dragons have got a set of working gills, and normal dragon lungs at the same time, so they can breathe under the water and on land too, but it's better to alternate land and sea, if they're forced to stay outside the water for too long, they may get pains in the gills, or even inflammation and serious health issues, and if they don't breathe air once in a while, the lungs get filled with mucous liquid and it takes effort to clean and make them work again, rather uncomfortable process, also they feel a bit lack of air under the water and are always happy to take a big lungful of fresh oceanic breeze.

Sea dragons are usually careless and frisky, and quite horny. They befriend cetaceans, especially the intelligent species, and can learn to communicate with them, they may travel and live with packs of dolphins and orcas. As written in the travel book of the Ice Tribe, when the writer was rescued by Sea Dragons - "They left me on the beach, under a palm tree shade, with a heap of raw fish, thinking it would be a perfect meal for any dragon. Needless to say it was barely edible for an Ice-tail like me, still, my injuries were great and I had to recover, I began to eat the stinky bony meat, while watching my rescuers play in the shallow water like hatchlings. The three females were throwing shells and seaweed into each other and laughing silly. Then they've started making weird and loud creaky noises, shouting at the ocean, and after a while a pack of dolphins have come, by the looks of tribal markings on them I could clearly see those were the intelligent ones. The dragonesses have started talking to them, to my biggest surprise, they could understand each other, and the dolphins joined their game. I've focused on picking the least stinky fish among my heap and when the next time I looked at the sea, I nearly choked on my meal - the dragonesses and dolphins were clearly mating with each other, with passion and vigor. They knew I was probably watching but did not care at all. To them it was like another game, and they enjoyed it, way too much. A few more dolphins came and joined them, a mess of squirming bodies, moaning, laughing and chatting with this creaky language I could not understand. I swear this kept going until the dark. We, the Ice Tribe, keep modesty and chastity in our culture, this was shocking to see, and yet I could not look away, there was something primal and so full of raw life force, I was mesmerized. I swear, when they've done and casually swam away, it was still smelling of dolphin cum and dragoness pheromones until the morning. One of the sea nesses watched over me for the next few days while I was recuperating and you could guess what has happened to me - I would never be able to watch into the eyes of another Ice Dragon for the things we've done with her on the soft sands there. Or so I thought, being as young and naive as I was."

Most of the sea dragons live in the oceans nomadic way, with no regular settlements and migrate thousands kilometers in any random direction they feel like. But there are some underwater cities exist, and even a few overland villages, where they work on crafting things with fire and trade with other tribes. There are uneasy regions in their watery domain, the Rift has crossed the sea bed too, creating the Black Chasm there. The black chasm is a source of evil, nasty things dwell in the bottomless deeps and rise up from it some times, the number of sea sentinels watch over the black chasm, with the help of dolphins and orcas, and warn each other of any new threats. With each year the black chasm keeps spreading further and growing wider, which really concerns the elders and those few serious dragons among the sea tribe who would take responsibility.

One of the pictures from the previous challenge that I did not like how it turned out, so I tried to play with it, tweaking body mass and proportions, overall posture and many other things, trying to understand where it went wrong and why. It seems to be better now. Not perfect by far, but still better x) +experience gained x) 94 more squirrels and I would gain a new level!!! xD Just kidding :)

Sky Domain dragons or simply sky dragons are living high among the clouds and rarely ever seen on the main land. They used to live at the highest mountains, but after the great sundering, when the planet was split by the huge rift with forces unknown, and magic has come into the world, they've all moved to live among the many floating islands hovering above the Rift. No one knows, what kind of magic keeps the chunks of the land up there, but it's been thousands of years since the cataclysm, and not a single rock has fallen from above yet...

The sky tribe dragons have got unique feathery wings, the bodies are covered in fur mixed with feathers, which keeps them warm while flying at these heights. Most of them have got thick mane and tail tuft. Sky dragons' hide is mostly white with light shades of blue, green and other tints to it. They build homes, gazebos and terraces on their islands and grow magnificent gardens with all kind of plants there. They love all things pretty and brightly colored, so there are flowers everywhere, honey bees swarm among the growth, fruit trees bloom, giving the sweetest harvest. Mead, fruit, berries, and vegetables make the most of their diet. They aren't farmers, though, they generally don't like hard manual labor work and getting the paws dirty. They spend most of the time in leisure, playing games, crafting something pretty or just sleeping.

The sky domain tribe is probably the least numerous among all the dragons, they don't get that many hatchlings for various reasons and reproduce slowly. The females go in heat once in a few years and even then it's not guaranteed to get pregnant. Perhaps it's their adaptation to living in places limited on food supply. They are not vegetarians, it's been known for them to keep livestock and hunt for rabbits and other small herbivores that live on the islands too, but some of them find the process of killing a prey and eating it rather unpleasant and even disgusting. Not all of the islands are fit for the gardens or even livestock handling, though. There are "levels" by height, gardens, flowers and hunting grounds take the lowest level islands, the higher it gets the more cold it becomes, and very soon the islands become covered in snow and glaciers and the top most level is a bare frozen rock, overlooking above the clouds.

The sky domain tribe is not as naive as it may look to someone. There is a big library, which they guard thoroughly, the smartest among the dragonkind know that the sky domain tribe is one of the most ancient intelligent races on the planet, if not the first one, they know and keep many secrets. For instance, they all pass tests for magic affinity easily, but nobody has ever seen them do anything magical yet. Some conspiracy going on that they are responsible for the Rift or they keep an eye on it, for it may consume and destroy the entire planet if left unchecked. This conspiracy is backed up by the fact that the sky dragons visit the Rift below and have some business with the Earth Dragons, who happen to live there, and if you know anything about the Earth tribe, you would find this suspicious as well. More about the Earth Dragons in the next chapter of these notes.

The fire dragons... One of the most rare and elusive species on the planet, they inhabit the distant Fiery Archipelago and can be spotted nearby active volcanoes in other places. They're barbaric and ferocious, and tend to avoid other dragons, this and their peculiar aesthetics lead to many myths surrounding them among the dragonfolk, some of the dragons believe that the Fire Tribe aren't dragons at all and in fact are demons, who live in the earth's core and swim in the magma, only to emerge to hunt for innocent souls and drag them down into a volcanic maw with the black tentacles. Of course this is not true. Fire dragons are made of flesh and blood, they eat, breath and reproduce like any other dragon, and while being extremely heat resistant and even possessing some fire magic, actually stepping into a lava pool would hurt them and there is no "swimming" in this liquid yet rock-heavy substance anyways.

Fire tribe are sleek and muscular flightless medium-sized dragon species, covered with black glossy hide, flexible and warm to the touch, different hues of black may exist, some times even stripes and spots of darker colors if you look close. Anatomy is quite interesting, they've got two long whip-like tentacles on their back, which they use to perform amazing feats of acrobatics while chasing their prey across the rocky volcanic landscape, the prey is mostly the fire lizards, medium-sized and very fast and jumpy bipedal raptors, one hit of the black whip knocks them down during the chase. This is not an easy prey, though. The fire lizards are not intelligent but quite smart, they gather in packs and can surround, attack and kill weakened or injured fire dragons, unless they defend themselves fiercely, and that, those dragons can do! Using the whip tentacles to lash and crush the enemies around, and they can breathe fire and smoke to hurt the attackers or create camouflage, also the claws, teeth and spikes of the fire dragons are obsidian-sharp. When the whip lash hits a target it may be enforced with magic, making a fiery explosion on impact. This is no doubt one of the most dangerous life forms on the planet.

On the biggest Fiery Archipelago island, hidden with volcanic fields and fumes, lies the main settlement of the fire dragons, no other dragon has ever been there to tell stories about it, even a fly by air is not possible because of the dense smoke plume above, but some information leaked through rarely happening friendship and relations between the members of fire tribe and other species. Fire dragons build homes of stone using their sharp claws and whip explosions to cut the rock and fire magic to weld stone chunks together. This is needed to protect the young and injured members of the tribe, defensive fortifications are well guarded, especially in the night, when the most dangerous predators roam across the land. There are many life forms on the archipelago exist besides the dragons and raptors, and most of them are nasty and deadly - fire beetles the size of a dog, lava golems animated by evil native magic, cave trolls, gargoyles, and so on.

Why the fire dragons would not leave this hellish place and move on to some serene part of the world? The answer is simple - they do need a volcanic place to recharge magical energy. Put a fire dragon in some green jungle for example, and they would lose all the magical powers eventually, no fire breathing, no whip explosions and even the claws would lose obsidian sharp layers. The history of dragonfolk tells stories of some fire dragons living on the main land, but you can imagine how it felt for them, some really strong and unique reasons must appear for a dragon to lose that much of their identity and abilities. Besides, by their temper, they don't even think of the Fiery Archipelago as a "nasty place", they love challenge and fierce hunt and fighting monsters for sport.

No known hybrids of a fire dragon and another tribe exist, it is believed that cross-breeding with them is impossible. But not much evidence is recorded to make sure of that completely. There is a story of love between a fire dragoness and a sky domain dragon, with naughty details in some versions of it, but many dragons think this is a made up fiction rather than a real story anyways. Sky domain dragons are also even more mythic and rare than fiery. More about the sky tribe in the next chapter of these notes.

Hello, friends! I hope you're doing well and stay healthy in these weird times!

And I've found new misadventures, while all the good citizens sit at home on quarantine x) I became a victim of marauding again, at my old home site. Some people broke the fence and stole all the metal things they could find there, including heavy 4-meter iron channels, they cost a lot, but I couldn't even imagine that someone would steal them, they are nearly impossible to lift with hands, guess the marauders were in band, also they stole iron ladders and even iron overpass which they saw to pieces with angle grinder first, and lots of smaller things... We've had to open criminal case and go through investigation with the police. Some of the bigger pieces we managed to find in the nearby scrap metal yards and even caught the main culprit. Anyways, I realized that people in the city are getting desperate with no help from our government, the crime is rising, people steal and plunder and it's only the beginning... I had to evacuate all that's left valuable there, including building materials. I've disassembled the entire roof on the house and the fence, gathered all the wooden boards and timber, and moved all that to my new home place, the danger was that the bad guys may torch what's left of my old house now...

And that's done now, I can relax again. I was going to do that anyways, but not like this, urgently in a hurry and so early. Looks like I also need to think of self defense too. And build a fence around my new home site using the wood i've recovered. Oh and also I had to replace the entire cooling system on my truck xD

Okay, enough of RL stories, let's talk about the daily content challenge i've done recently and what's next... I think, this was the best daily content challenge attempt so far. By the amount of artwork I made and how the working flow felt. By the end of it I did not feel exhaustion much, actually I was having fun and was inspired on making up dragon tribes, starting with the fairy dragons, couldn't get enough of them! xD That's some weird(and lewd) world was shaping up there, perhaps I will continue exploring it x) Of course, not all the artwork turned out good, some of the entries were almost cringeworthy(for me), but I had to upload them anyways x)

I still need to learn better how to control my working and resting cycle, not overdo it, keep the sleep schedule healthy and so on. I think these challenges help me a lot, and in fact, i'm going to start a new one today! This time, it's going to have a purpose, i'm going to focus on error handling, trying to understand what went wrong there, aaaaand there are so many WIPs piled up, they need to start getting finished! So there will be many "updates" and final versions this time. Same rules as before - in order to beat the challenge, I need to make 30 new uploads in 30 days each day, I can skip one day for RL reasons and then make 2 uploads the next day. And if I fail to follow that, i'm going to draw myself being spanked BDSM style x) Wish me luck! x) And let the challenge begin!

Time for another "silly story" wall of bad engrish x) Let me know if these bore/creep you out xD

The little cave-dragons are adapted to living in the vast caves and cavern systems. They've got two prehensile tails and sharp claws, helping them to climb the walls and cling onto stalactites to ambush their prey from the darkness above. The eyes can see in the dark and the teeth are venomous. The venom kills small prey and makes large animals blackout or fall into hypnotic trance. The cave dragons may feed on the blood of large animals this way, but only if starved and can't find a prey they can kill, because most of them dislike the taste of blood. The webbed spine crest can be used to glide through the caves, taking advantage of winds and thermal updrafts flowing through the caverns, they can stretch these "wings" and fold, but can't really flap and fly. Usually grey and greenish in color, some times spotted with dots and short stripes, females can rarely be born black colored.

Adult cave dragons are usually living and hunting solitary, only gathering together for important occasions, the queen is chosen by her rare black color, in case if the current queen passes out, the next newborn black one becomes the queen, there can be a few black dragons in the tribe at the same time, but only a newborn may become the new queen. This rule was accepted to end the fight for power which used to cause some grief in the past, even though the queen is more a formal figure than absolute ruler.

The society is tribal and simple, they know common dragon clawrite and there is a "cave of legends", where they keep the tribe's records and teach the young. They know and make fire, but don't craft much tools and accessories, fire is used for cooking mostly, they really love roasted meat but can only afford it during big celebrations as finding firewood and making fire in the caves is problematic.

All the cave dragons gather two times a year for the solstice celebration and big mating games, the females go in heat soon before that. The heat is quite troublesome for the females, they suffer from the need quite a lot and been known to use everything they can get their paws on to help them out, from stalactites to both of their tails at once, at this time, their venom gets a new unique property, making the bitten victim fall into the state of mindless obedient lust towards the dragoness, this is frowned upon, to bite unwilling male dragons to force them mate with you, and other cave dragons are quite resistant to it anyways. But some females which couldn't get back to the tribe for some reason, may try it on other species, most of the sperm liquids do work to ease the heat need, when taken inside, including swallowing, the more the better, even rubbing into one's skin works... The black queen takes advantage of her position of power during these times, the best and most fertile males are happy to serve her.

Cave-dragons give birth to living hatchlings, one at a time, rarely two, but even though the heat happens twice a year, they don't always get pregnant, usually it's one hatchling per year. This is true except for the queen, and all the black females, they usually are twice as much reproductive. The stray females return to the tribe's main settlement for the birth, or soon after it, to help the hatchlings learn and get better care overall.

My sleep is so messed up and is not nearly enough, ~5 hours a day. Looks like it's catching up to me %) Last night I just fell asleep 4 hours before my usual time and trying to revive myself with lots of coffee at the moment feeling myself a wreck x)

Once again trying to pick up the stickers, once I have a dozen or so, I will make a pack. Among the previous attempts only like 1/3 of them were ok, others I did not like how they turned out(can't say I really like this new either, but let it be). Trying to find a working balance between chibi/adult and toon/realistic. Think I need to try a bit more toonish/simplistic next.

Ok, on to work.. Going to upload something full-colored for tonight. There is a desert dragoness in the works, perhaps, her.

Well, that latest fix didn't last for long, yesterday my comp didn't turn on again. And this time nothing has helped me to revive it, conclusion was that this is chipset soldering fail. Perhaps a professional reballing could have given it a bit more life, but that's something out of my abilities and my reach at this moment, and it does not solve this issue long term anyways, an old reballed chip won't have the same durability as a new one. This motherboard has lasted me for many years, like close to ten years or so. I've tried to find a replacement for this outdated socket motherboard but couldn't find anything worth buying atm... Long story short, I have changed the socket format to AM4, bought the motherboard, CPU and memory accordingly. Of course by using more loan money. This was quite a depressing moment. Surely, among my astronomical overall debts this wasn't a big deal, but still, feels bad, like this bank slavery trap is endless, keeps getting bigger faster than I can close it. Also had a few shots of cognac because of that, and that shiet happened to be bad, so i'm feeling sick today. :[

Oh well... Maybe the timing was still alright... Our national currency value sinks rapidly, and the prices on all the electronics would inevitably skyrocket in the nearest future, with no hope to ever falling back. I hope this new motherboard will last me for many years too x)

okay, time for another silly story from that crazy world we've made during the sleepless nights xD

So, we have seen what the female fairy dragons do! But what about the males? Aren't they bored while most of the other half of the tribe is gone "nectar hunting"? Of course they aren't! In the fairy tribe there is matriarchy rule, and the males are careless and frisky, they also grow to love and worship females, their antennae are very sensitive to other creatures emotions all around them, they can sense them from quite a distance, so when they play and chase each other across the forests and sense an intelligent creature nearby that is lonely, sad or in pain, or even in heat with no release, they go in and try to make them feel better! Interesting fact, that their saliva and especially the seed has got potent magical healing powers and they use it wisely! xD Also being fragile little things, their natural defense is sedating feromones that make even the most aggressive wild life calm and friendly, intelligent species like them and always happy to meet them!

Yesterday, my computer just didn't start, the coolers were spinning but the screen was black, no sign of bios startup either. After excessive tests and investigation, I had to drive to covid-infested lair of human civilisation and buy a new power supply, then rewrote the BIOS flash, then had to go to the city again next day, to buy thermal compound, and only a few hours ago I managed to put back everything together and it works again. Gonna use one day grace for the challenge now. But i'm glad my only losses were on the power supply and compound, at first it seemed the mainboard has had a major fail and I was getting ready to replace it, along with the CPU and memory units(old MB uses outdated CPU socket)...

Hello, everyone! :)

It's been a while since the last journal entry. But so far so good. Half of the daily content challenge is done, and I didn't use a single grace-day skip yet, and managed to even fit comic pages and colored pictures in it. Not all of them were done in a single day, of course. I've got lots of unfinished ideas, doodles and different stages art under desk. For example that picture with the princess and her loyal subjects was sitting for years there waiting until I get enough skill to shape it up, and I finally managed to put some of the more tricky parts together. The nectar-collectors story is all new, and I liked these characters, will probably make them recurring in my art.

In other news, the world around is going crazy, I can see that even from my forest wilderness over here x) We follow self-quarantine for now. Even though I don't believe the dragons may catch human germs, better safe than sorry in this case xD Sitting home, drawing a lot, messing with machinery to give the eyes and head a rest and pretty much that's it. All the bureaucracy that was bugging the hell out of me before, has stopped, I rarely drive to the city and only to buy food. If only my sleep schedule was not messed up that much.

Looks like we will have difficult times ahead, and I want to thank you all for staying with me, we will come through this together, and Chara and I will help you with isolation boredom by sharing artwork and silly/kinky ideas xD

The 13th entry is taken by The Creep, who has returned to showcase his demonic powers. And he has found a suitable prey for that! He has got an ability to release the ghostly tendrils from some parts of the body, those can lift objects and penetrate the living flesh to drain life essence or infuse it with energy, can also inflict basic feelings inside the victim's body - pain, pleasure, heat, cold, etc. The pink dragoness is completely drunk with overwhelming feelings and can't control herself!

Developed that idea from the bonus version of the fairy dragonesses scene comments, to use the fairies as containers for the harvest themself, instead of a jug x) Some people have asked me, how it's going to happen because it's unlikely for the fairies to take such a big "thing" inside, well, this asked for a guide! x)

This is one half of it, I made all the doodles already but could only finish one half today, will finish it tomorrow. Time to hit the sack x)

Made a new character for the scene, the third fairy dragoness used to be in my doodles for that, but it did not go very well with all the "collecting" story xD So I replaced her with some "nectar" container. But this version is fun too, I think x) Gives another edge to the story x)

Still quite dead x) After all the damage assessment and a lot of thought, i've decided that I need to swap the entire engine to another model, of course I could buy and replace all the broken parts and make all the maintenance, but it costs a LOT, many things were broken, and in the end I will get the same engine with the same reliability issues, I think we've had enough of it... Better cut the losses and move on. Well, the problem is, a new(used ofc) engine costs even more money and I barely scrape enough for the living x) The future aint looking bright for the black borb i'm afraid :\ The yellow toyota works though, so we're okay for now. It was quite rough to use as a daily drive, but i'm slowly making a civil thing outta it.

Myst "the scalepaint dragoness" is not forgotten x) I had to put back that mini-comic story with her for the time being, because it felt like I don't have the drawing skills yet to express what I had in mind. Things change, I get more experience and eventually it will be finished..

Once Malik+Lavin project is finished, I want to spend the rest of the month doing something simple. More sketchwork and doodles, give-away art. I think i've had enough of pixel-embroidery lately xD

This is what i've been working at lately, in a very strict "deadline mode", trying to avoid all the distractions and cut my social presence almost entirely. Locked in my room and scribbled day and night basically xD But the time goes on, my exhaustion builds up, and I need to tell you what i'm doing. There is still a lot of work to do. All the fur coating needs work, the heads, the wings, there are actually 2 other wing solutions I'm considering at the moment, so I might scrap this one entirely(gods, the 4-winged character design is quite a challenge), background needs a work too, the draping, the floor, also the liquids(plus extra versions), overall lighting tuning and so on... It might take a few more full days of work. But I also need a break, a day or two off to let my sore eyes heal and to get a proper sleep. Probably will fiddle with my truck for a change... But i'm going to wrap this illustration up very soon, there are many other plans for this month.

Some of you probably remember the old sketch of this scene. Now I made it into a high quality illustration. Probably the scene and characters were not worth that much investment, but what's done is done.

A few words about what's going on there. So there is this manga/anime called Legendz, not that much popular like pokemon or digimon, but in the same genre, and it has its own fan club, especially the dragon Shiron from it, there is a quite a lot artwork with him around. These are the characters from it too. In one of the series this female "unicorn" has tortured and mocked the fire dragon a lot, so I even wondered to myself, if she secretly has hots for him x))) And she really deserved some punishment for that! x) So I made the doodle a long time ago, and now this. No, i'm not really a big fan of the series, I don't think there will be more - there are much more interesting projects I have in mind. Shiron is a handsome drake, though :)

Well, now when it's done, going to focus completely on my next big project in hope to finish it this month too. Time is short. Sun is high. My sleep schedule is a total mess xD

ps: Don't ask me how his jacket does not get on fire - he is an elemental dragon and turns completely into a fireball and the jacket doesn't even singe when he gets back to normal xD Not to mention he can transform into more powerful version of himself with different clothes and accessories appearing from thin air as a part of transformation x)

News from the snowy den of artwork, insomnia, and coffee! xD

Looks like the time has come for me to sort things out in my work overall. I have the time and mental resources, my health is alright, nothing is distracting me too much. So, i'm leafing through my projects, thinking what can I do with them, there are many of patreon works that should have been uploaded to public by now, but way too many of them I see as poor or rushed out, also outdated by now. Now I watch those and see so many flaws and the ways I could have easily fixd that, which I could not do before. This is one of the reasons why all those "updated versions" appear lately. Like I dig out an old picture and I think, hmm I need to upload that to FA but it's just so poorly made x) But of course not ALL of them are going to get so much time investment, if any.

Also i'm spending considerable amount of time on learning and practice recently. There are 2 different things that I need to work at. My coloring/shading and sketchwork. I practice first problem on those "RTX versions" and fight with the second one on the paper. Doing lots of doodles and feeding the trash can with them xD Sketchwork is currently my most struggled part. I can spend days trying to get things right, camera and poses interesting and ending up with piles of crumpled paper balls and nothing more x) This is embarassing and needs a fixing, and I know the only way - to crumple even more paper...

Here are my plans for the nearest future. First of all, I want to finish the 5th art give-away, draw all kobold game doodles, and then work on my old mini-comic projects. The video with lioness and zebra mating should get sounds, timing fix, and better liquids physics. I'm also going to update my patreon rewards tiers soon(and the page design with new graphics). With all the experience and knowledge, I need to decide what's best for my patrons. I think the $5 tier may be gone, because I really do not like sharing small versions and keep HD gated, I love HD and love watching details closely. There are some ideas to keep this tier afloat, but I need to come up with something meaningful for it.

I was not quite happy how this one turned out initially, so I put some work in it.. then even more.. then practiced some other things, and so it eventually became this x)

Tried to push my coloring limits on it, spent so much time trying and changing things... Can't say i've gained a +level on it or completely happy how it's turned out, but gotten some useful experience that should help me advance on other pictures where I was struggling...

It's been a fine year for me overall, in that time i've completely moved to my new home. Had a big unexpected travel all across the country. Many-many car repairs. Many plaster works and paint job and all the other construction stuff... And almost no vacation x) Looking forward to the next year as the one to recover and gather resources.

I've been sick for some time lately, caught a nasty cold there, but getting better now, the fever is almost gone and feeling alive. On to meet the new year with a glass of wine and a cake in only just 3 hours :)

Okaaay this will be my next big detailed painting and this is the 3rd time I tried my scales tech (c)(r)(tm) and it turned out as time-sink as always :\ I struggle to convince myself it's worth it, but anyways, I have to finish what i've started now. This picture had a delay on background and scene composition also. The very first version used to be less "luxury" environment and the dragon was white, did not click with cheetah servant somehow and I dropped it entirely. Now I need to take some rest from the painting, and return to finish it a bit later. I want to do more quick art and sketches for a few days and advance on my other art projects. Ok, time to crash x) 10am and I haven't slept yet, but really wanted to get this WIP to some logically finished stage.

"Good news, everyone!" xD Well, nothing particularly good, but nothing bad either! :) Finally moved to Windows-10, from 7th, which was old and broken beyond repair. All my graphics and support software is moved too. And I've finally installed photoshop and painter latest updates. For some reason I could not complete the installation on my old win7, it would crash with an error - tried everything and couldn't fix it... So it's photoshop 2020 and painter 2019 now, can finally test them and see what's new. House migration is also finished. Bathroom and kitchen and all, moved and installed and working! The remains of old home got frozen and uninhabitable forever now...

So, I only had like 2 days off this entire year x) And this is how it went...

....after 2 days sitting there in the forest I finally managed to start the engine then returned home and spent 2 more days removing the water and dirt from underneanth the carpets and fixing mechanical things :[ Oh well... Clearly the black gryphon was not ready for the forest yet.. But I just wanted a couple days off, I thought this wasn't too much to ask... Didn't even do really extreme offroad there, there was a deep mudhole, the water level was high, around the headlights but not that high to get into the air duct actually. For some reason the truck did cross the mudhole and stalled near the end of it, where the water was shallow. I used hand winch to pull it out to a dry place for repairs.

In this month, im trying to get back into my normal artwork life overall... Resumed the uploads at public galleries, dug through the mail, sorted out all my projects, and so on. House stuff is still going on but nothing like the rush before.. The new monster truck is working fine, only a few more furniture and plumbing/bathroom stuff left to move and we can freeze the remains of the old home for good, and never return there again... The winter came early this year, it's freezing cold outside... Good thing it's no longer a threat to us :) Long cold winter is a perfect time to draw lots of art. Shall we? :)

Long story short, in a little more than a week I covered over 11000km, 2 airplane trips, one by train and two long distance car trips, the latest one ending with me driving this truck home. The only thing I could find with my loan money that could be of use in the future and can still run despite the age and horrible condition. Spent some time to make urgent repairs/maintenance and follow all the legal process, getting the nameplate, registration, insurance and all that, was worried sick they'd reject it at some point, especially the mechanical inspection part xD It really had all the headlights smashed, and many more issues that could have raised questions from the police xD Now it's all passed and I can have a sigh of relief...

The good part is that it's running, and this particular model is nearly understructible, it will help me survive the winter and carry on with house stuff moving. And with time, I hope I will make a fine overlad vehicle out of it and have some travels, I've got a vast experience in car repairs and restoration...

The poor black gryphon is going to sit under a tent and wait for the spring... Needs some rare spare parts from japan and proper outdoor conditions for complicated engine repair... He's got the worst possible luck with the engine and previous owners :\ And his electronic diesel engine is by far not as bulletproof piece of engineering as this toyota's, redneck-style ownership wrecks havoc in it... But I will make it alright and running too.. With Chara's help :)

Hello, friends! :) A series of events in real life happened and I have to make a long and quite dangerous trip... Travel over 10 tousand km, and half of it driving a 30 year old truck x) Which happen to be broken there at the moment... So Im going to fix it on the filed there and drive over 5000km home on it. Chara help me! x))) Scared a little x) Don't worry much though, I've got quite a lot of experience in such a things... If everything goes well and the truch won't break in the middle of the trip, I should be home around 19-20th october. Not sure if I will be able to, but I might post an update here. Maybe some paper doodles even x) My smartphone is lagging on patreon so bad though. Well, we will see.

Also, Because of all this, the Kobold Game is going to be extended to the end of the month. You may still go and make the little guy do things :) Anything wild you can imagine xD There are paper doodles with him I couldnt outline yet... Man, my life is a mess x) Welp, time is running short, sitting on the baggage, wish me and Chara good luck, I suspect we might need some! :)

For now he is unnamed, you may suggest the name! He is a guard in the dragon castle. One among many, but chosen for the Mistress' private chambers. She asks for some tweaks in the regular guard outfit for her games, as we can see him standing in the big painting and in the reference sheet on the left. Basically less armor and accessory. On the right at the reference sheet there is a complete guard equipment. The pouch contains some basic stuff. And in the lower middle there are some anatomical details in case you want him to use it xD

Let's start our adventures on this same scene above, but give the guy some freedom, like the Mistress is busy with her toys now and waved at him that he may be free to go anywhere and do anything.

Just reply to this thread and tell me, what he is gonna do! You can only ask for one action this round. And there will be maximum 30 steps and 30 pictures with him, ideally sketch a day through the next month. You may follow other people commands and make it into some sequence of actions or just ask for anything you want really. Just don't kill/harm anyone or do anything irreversible please. He can go outside the room, explore the castle, interact with the Mistress or other 2 servants there, can use his equipment, it's right behind the pillar - the rest of the armor, weapons and his pouch.

this is the picture I was talking about, where I did a lot of experiments. I drew it on a single layer without my usual project layout and without a linework initial sketch. I've heard some artists do that. Also experimented with brushes a lot... Can't say I quite liked the flow and result and the speed of the process... Buuuut so much time was wasted on it and it has some value to show, I think. x)

The winter is coming and we were worinkg crazy hard to get ready to it as much as we could. Most of the ceiling and floors and walls plaster are done, heating, electricity, water etc. My own room is finished too, so I moved in for final. Artwork was suffering from all this of course, but it did not stop, and im going to upload some things i've been working at lately.. There are some stories to tell what's happened this month too :)

Hey, friends! :) A little update and a new art here! :) So, I moved to the new home completely during the last few days. Finished in a hurry the water piping and some rough interrior things.. This was made by the request from a friend, off the old picture with the dragon and 5 lionesses. It has got 2 animated sequences in it, even though the big one is only 3 frames, but it could still be fun. The zebra+lioness scene has got its own high res animation, going to upload it rrright away too! xD

So, we've finally finished the most difficult picture we've ever tried yet... This was a challenge in many ways.. Including the drawing hardware. Not only the comp is quite weak to handle a 100-layers 4k project, it was also failing pretty bad lately, shooting down with BSOD numerious times a day, often corrupting the PSD file of my current project, only the consecutive backups helped.. All the attempts to find the source of the problem were unsuccessful, checked everything, memory, hard drives, wiring and connectors, etc, the errors are different each time. But thanks to my friends, i've got another system case, which is supposed to work well. Going to migrate on it with all my software and projects now.

For this month plans.. It appears that i'm bad at estimating the time and mental resources needed for different projects, so I won't be promising anything x) I will just say what i'm going to TRY, to focus my attention at. First in my list is another full-colored picture, with a cute and fluffy white dragoness, this should be a high-detailed one, but do not worry, it wont take the entire month, because it's just one character artwork. Also I want to draw more lionesses, this is my secondary goal for the June. Maybe will toss give-away arts somewhere based on inspiration :)

Just as the title says, all the same but with more "fluids" x) I still struggle to make them realistic, all this opacity, viscosity, reflections-refractions, and the destribution physics... Could always use more practice...

All the characters have got the same level of detail now

Fynath(feral gryph) has gotten all new "RTX-ON" fur coat because it didn't look fit with all the Amrien's blue magnificence nearby before that xD

Amrien's(big blue dragon) male bits were polished better xD

Kristine(anthro kitty) has gotten per-pixel fur too, it is a small character there, but I did not want it to be a lazily made one

Kavik(anthro gryph) has also gotten some fur details and polishing, but I intentionally kept his coat pattern more simple, because I liked how this character looks already and did not want to mess him up.

Cocamo(the dragoness) has gotten feets skin detail and some overall details a bit

Background has gotten some minor improvements

Another easter egg was added! :)

It could still use a lot of lighting/shadows and environment tuning but I really must stop at some point and move on to other artwork :) Some of you guys probably arent happy that I've spent so much time on this and no new artwork comes out x) Sorry about that! Now when this mega-artwork is done, I will make some quick and fun stuff in the next few days :) And will share my roadmap for the June :)

There will also be "messy" version today, it won't take too long to make :)

Cast everything aside and just put all my mental resources to get this done! It already took me one week more than I had planned, but I think in about 3 days it will be finished.

I needed some more practice on drawing fur in Photoshop and to finally set up all the brushes properly for that, since my Corel Painter got broken beyond repair (trust me i've tried everything, and the only thing that can possibly fix it now, is complete windows reinstall ). This picture was perfect for that, and I wanted to return to it anyways, was not quite happy how the picture turned out initially. I think it looks a lot better now.

Now this fo real wraps up the 4th give-away :) I've done everything I had in mind for it.

Well :) Like I said, I was working on new shading method on this one and went on trying to color it. Basically it's when you make a grayscale shading first, then apply colors on it, unlike I usually do with colors right away. Not sure if I liked the speed and flow of it.. But it was a good experience in any case :)

Kodar: Hello, friends! :) For this next month there are 2 primary goals to work at. In the first 2 weeks, I will try to finish what's left of my backlog for give-away and rewards, also the huge YCH painting should be done - WIPs to come soon, you will see what i've been doing there! In the other half of the month, I want to start showing my first steps in animation. Also trying to tackle that comic again which literally broke me last month - it's alright, I think I can handle it now!! :)

Purple here. Chara is not mad at me, don't worry. She has seen things like that perhaps a million times in her lifetime. So, I hit a skill block again, and it all spiraled down from there, aggravated by sleep meds side effects, endless car repairs and other RL crap x) And the more I hated myself for fails and broken deadlines, the less successful were my attempts at getting over the bump and actually finishing anything. Got out of this circle with some willpower, philosophy, and Chara's help of course :)

I've decided to try something new. To be more in touch with you and let you know what's going on about my artwork, how I spend a day and how much time was invested in art this day. So, even if i'm doing something like learning new things and studying tutorials, you should know that. I will shape it up as "Chara's daily log", there will mostly be things about artwork. Real life and other things only if they are important for artwork. Title picture for the blog would change some times. I'm going to try to maintain daily update, but it's nothing like monthly challenge, this new blog will last for vaguely long, so there could be missed days, with my hectic life everything is possible, but i'll let you know if i'm like sitting in the middle of nowhere in the taiga, trying to repair my car in the snow and dirt or anything like that, as soon as it's physically possible xD

Hello, friends!

Last few weeks I was trying to find solitarity and focus on my drawings, minimise all the distractions and RL annoyances. Needed some time to clear my head and sort out my thoughts too, as I was feeling strong burnout and all the signs of "artblock" creeping up - can't alow that demon to catch you! So I cut off the internet, literally pulling the cable out of the modem, and even scooped up my comp and moved to the new home at some point. xD During that time, I have recuperated mentally, made tons of paper sketchwork, and thought up my future plans.

So, in this year ahead, there are 3 primary goals... First and the biggest one - I'm going to focus on animation, both traditional hand drawn frame by frame and animating static pictures. Next, there are too many "WIPs" piled up, I'm going to spend more time finishing WIPs rather than making new ones. And the last thing, there are a number of mini-comic projects that really-really need a boost, there are lots of doodles and layouts, but nobody sees this work, this is not good..

I don't think i'll do more "daily content challenges", they really exhaust me way too much. But definitely going to keep doing give-away rounds. For the next one, I think stickers would be nice and something new for a change.

Can't thank you enough for all the support you did to me in the past year! Only because of that, I was able not only to keep drawing and make hundreds of new pictures but also to raise a whole new house from a patch of wild forest to something I can already live in! xD The windows have arrived a few days ago and some of them are already mounted. Time to pack my things and go meet the New Year there! xD It's still quite rough as for living conditions, no floors or any walls finish and so on, but at least there is WARM, so tired of being cold in the ruins of my burned old house xD Also meeting the new year in the new one was kind of insane goal through the year that kept me motivated, i'd still do that even in worse conditions x) Thank you again, friends! Making the inner walls now, the floors and ceilings heat insulation and other basic things. Still no windows though, plywood stubs cover the window holes for now, so it can get warm inside to work there. The real windows should come next week...

She is some kind of ambassador whose job is to meet other intelligent species and make contact with them, to understand them and introduce to each other x) you can guess already, where it's heading to xD The design is not final yet, the colors especialy. And she needs a name, if you want to give her name, just tell me :)

Let me share with you, how did this last challenge go for me, and what do I think about it :)

Overall, I LOVED it! The spirit of competition with my own self, of overcoming all the kind of obstacles to get it done. It was fun indeed :) Some times it was really hard to finish what i've planned for the day, and the hardest of all, to upload something that was not quite perfect in my eyes. I'm a bit "perfectionist" and can waste HUGE amounts of time trying to make something just right. Surely, i'm not quite happy with everything I have done during the challenge... Some chibies for example, I'm going to update or even draw another versions :)

Other important thing about this challenge is that it has crippled my bigger projects a lot. Some of the pictures I have uploaded there took more than one day to finish. I need some better time management for the next challenge like that, and it's going to happen!

Next month, the November, i'm going to do it again! :) I have things in mind, what I can fit in every day content, while still leaving enough time for the major projects and studies!

Hello, friends! Let me tell you, what's going on there! x)

So, I had to fire the builders crew, which I hired for the walls, after like a few rows of beton blocks, I came there to check out the work and was shocked by the sheer amount of major and minor defects and overall sloppy and lazy job, and even silly attempts to hide their screw-up... And there was just no time finding other builders so I just had to step in myself, to catch those last few days of warmth before the frost and snow and finish all the beton works!

So, after really hard work, from dawn until the late evening with flood lights and all that, the walls are done!!! Near the end of it, I have found a replacement builders crew. This time I used my sad experience and chose better, I checked out the houses they've built and was very pleased with the quality. They've helped me finish last rows of blocks and going to do the roof now all by themself. So i'm free from this burden once again, and really have a high hope to get a new place to live this very winter! With roof and all, where the rain would not fall into my bed while I sleep, and the water tubes wont freeze out during the frosts because there are no walls xD Oh, how I miss some quiet life in a proper place... Hey, friends! :) I want to try a challenge that would bring me much needed experience in making and uploading content fast and seamless. I'm not happy with the way it works now, when i'm focused on full color illustrations and too much time passes with nothing new to see. So, this next month, i'm taking a challenge to upload something new every day! Whether it will be a sketch, full color or just a doodle, but every day there will be something new to see.

Should I fail just one day to upload new art, for the last picture I'm going to draw myself wearing underpants on my head %) And should I make it, I will draw myself in some "like a boss" style xD Over 24 hours from last upload counts as fail. Let the challenge begin! :)

Finally the home base is finished for real. It seemed endless, with all kind of unexpected delays and uneasy concrete filling, had to use compact mixer and shovel a lot... A big step, from a patch of forest to home base. But I no longer going to work there myself. Other people took charge, I did what I can on the most important phase...

The house building was intense lately, I was crawling back home by dark, exhausted.. But, we've finished one major stage, there is a temporary living place built now, good enough to sleep there, keep all the instruments, food and clothes under lock and keys. Also hired people can live there now and keep the construction going... Electricity came there now too, and water to come soon.

For major drawing projects, working at mini comic with Toothless and the white nightfury(adult) and the series of super-detailed pictures with Lavin, in fact one was finished a few days ago, going to upload it right now too.

Here we are.. At the new place, starting everything from the beginning again! x) We had to cancel our half-built home because of unexpected legal issues with the land, and now moving to another location, outside of the city this time, to start everything from scratch. It looks rather wild yet, but there won't be any legal issues, and with time, we will make it a good place to live x) I'm going to use hired workers a lot this time. I don't have enough stamina and time to build everything myself nowadays..

So, I was thinking about uploading this picture to public and was not happy about it, it was only 1300 pixels wide original resolution and some other details I did not like, so, I made a big upgrade, almost twice as high resolution, more details, better colors and BG and also different versions where the dragon would cum and plunge into her, gonna upload it all today!

My health is still unstable, some days the fever returns, but overall i'm feeling "ok".

Right now i'm working at 2 full color illustrations, both should be finished in about a week :)

The time has come! It's finally done(or rather I had to force myself to stop at some point). Many changes and hours of work since the last WIP, but mostly subtle changes, details, light and shadows and all that.

I'll keep my promise and will make a timelapse of the drawing of this picture too.

I've had different ideas for backstory, current would be discussing diplomatic matters between the species xD

It seems my health is slowly recovering. The body temperature is still not quite normal but getting lower gradually, and best of all, my head feels like working again! The mind fog has lifted, I see and think clear for the last few days. Alas the doctors couldn't find the cause yet, and there is still many tests to pass, I intend to finish everything that was planned anyways. But at least I feel myself a dragon again and live! I intend to catch up with my artwork projects, and to thank you all, who stayed with me through the time of my illness, by opening a wide give-away for everyone, starting from $1 pledge! Hello, friends! This is Lavin the dragoness, meeting one of the many dangers in her wild but beautiful homeland. This picture was actually my training room for realistic brush techniques, and i've learned quite a lot on it. I'm also going to make a time-lapse of the drawing process for this, from paper sketch to the release version.

I normally shouldn't post WIPs in the first tier, but this will do, because I need to tell you my health status update and the picture is really close to release. One full day, or two if there are distractions. And they happen to be x) Alas there is still no good news about my condition.. The fever is still the same, dangling between hospitals and diagnostic centers, passing tests, trying to reach some rare doctors, meanwhile being weak and getting tired instantly. The bureaucracy and long queues to get to some doctors aren't helping either. Other than that, everything is fine. I'm not depressed, not going to die x) There is some inflammatory process going somewhere in the body, all the tests confirm that, just can't find the source yet(still strong suspition for kidneys, the sonography diagnostic raised questions). Taking general anti-inflammatory meds and imunity boosters right now.

The spring is coming anyways, and with it, the hope. I'm feeling more and more "alive" with each day, even though my body is not "okay" yet x)

The idea of this kind of crossover was brewing in my mind for years now... The years passed, the mem itself has faded and only now I managed to draw it. But I guess better late than never :) It was fun to get back to drawing TLK fanart again, I used to draw it a lot, in some other ancient times and other life x) There is more sketchy stuff I did while being sick. And the super-detailed artwork is steadily getting more and more thousands of details x)

I'm afraid there are no good news about my health state yet, it stays roughly the same.. Passed kidney tests and ENT, nothing too serious to cause this sickness was found there... Only one thing left, it's the head tomography(it's not so easy with this here). So tired of being sick, feeling myself a useless lump of driftwood x) Sorry about that guys, and thank you for staying with me.❤️

Health update: So far nothing's changed i'm afraid, same fever and overall feeling.. I've been to the hospital and passed numerous tests, made x-ray photos, visited several doctors, the diagnosis is unclear, and even more tests and doctors are scheduled. The suspictions are upon kidneys and ENT issues. At least nothing really bad like cancer or aids x) Got a treatment course of antibiotics for now. I'm taking it seriously and will work on my health recovery, but I can't even predict how long it will take...

Looks like I just can't make "simple sketches" and slowly falling into coloring/shading again x) Well, this is easy part anyways, but makes them look a lot better, so why not.. Just gotta keep overall time investment reasonable, I think. This picture was supposed to be a banner saying "thank you", and there is a text panel in place of the handrail.

As for my health, the condition is stable-bad, the fever is still the same, and nothing seems to change for the better. I have scheduled visit to hospital for tomorrow early morning and do all the necessary tests...

Hey guys :) As some of you may know, i'm a bit sick. Well, I was sick for almost entire january, and it was bad x) I thought i was getting better, but whatever it is, it just won't get off me! There is moderately high fever for weeks now. I gotta do something, this is becoming disturbing, and my stamina has dropped down to the ground x) I'm NOT going to put the artwork on hold or anything, but I might act and talk weird, so please bear with me x)

Hello, friends! As some of you may know, patreon is being attacked by automatic scrapers to steal paid content lately and share it on some pirate web sites. This is something we just had to fix. With patreon staff being reluctant to release pay-upfront option for everyone (right now it's still in beta and given out randomly to only a few chosen), creators usually go for emailing or sending the rewards via PMs. Both of these options feel like a clutch and cause unnecessary problems, for instance, if a new patron would come, he won't get all the rewards immediately, he would have to wait for me to notice him and send him the rewards manually. Going through the list of all patrons to send everyone an email takes up much time too, the time I could have spent drawing instead.

So, what we've made instead. There is now a script using Patreon API to check out your login and pledge before showing you an artwork(coding credit goes to my good friend Snowly). You will need to be logged on patreon, if you arent, it will ask you to do that, and then click "Allow" button once. Don't be alarmed by this request window, it's a part of Patreon native code so it can verify that you in fact are my patron and not like someone from a pirate site seeing this URL in a place where it shouldn't be. :)

Feedback is welcome! There is a new picture coming to test it. Let me know if there is something not working properly and what do you feel about it. Anyways, it's all for your good. I'm working to create rewards for you and protect their value too. But if it'd prove to cause problems more than solve them, we'll think of something else! And any sort of bugs in the code will be fixed ASAP. Also you may suggest to add some feature, there is a lot we can do.

PS: A note to people using the pirate sites. Sorry guys, but I just had to do it. It was kind of tolerable when the site was invite-only, but having automatic scrappers on an open public site is just pushing it over. My patreon is an early access model, you don't have to pay to see everything on my public gallery eventually. If watching content is all you care about. But have some respect for good people that donate and make all this artwork happen.

So there was actually series of sketches that slowly make it into color, this is the 3rd, missed the one where they'd wake up and stretch. Oh, and the one where she'd lick him there, not sure where it'd fit in the timeline of events, maybe before this one, then it'd be 4th xD

Still working on some other full color picture, this little one was just for fun and to give my mind a rest. One of the times where you try to find a different design approach and hate yourself because it doesn't work xD But I will get over this bump like I always had in the past. Switching your mind to something else for a while or spend some time to learn new tutorials usually helps!

Hello, friends!

So, the year 2017 has ended and 2018 has come! Looking back at 2017, it was a busy time of hard work, but nothing catastrophic at least, it felt almost like a vacation after 2016. Working to build me a new home, to solve endless paperwork and bureaucracy questions. And of course it was marked as the year, when artwork has become my main and only "job", altough I don't consider it really a job - I love drawing, and i'm happy that I can finally devote my life to it! Thank you very much! :)

What do I think of 2018 and the nearest future... I think around the autumn, if everything would go well, I should open a weekly comic, in a vast fantasy universe, with dragons of course, and many other sapient creatures :) I was thinking about it for years now, but I really needed the knowledge and experience first, and that's what i'm going to work at! I will keep practicing and studying, there will be 1-2 page mini-comics along the way. I really want some engaging story and characters to develop... But big detailed single pictures won't go anywhere, this is another thing I really want to improve - coloring and lighting technique, overall drawing speed, drawing stamina... And the freedom of camera angles, advanced locomotion, animation even, there is so much exciting stuff to learn! :) And not quite exciting but really important things too - like time management(I fail pretty bad at it), setting up work and rest schedule, I'm getting myself exhausted and burned out way too often.

In the nearest future, I still need to do December calendar picture, then give-away sketches will follow. New give-away batch will be open this month. There are also some minor things to take care of, like Patreon itself, I will probably change the way my rewards are distributed, there are some bad people among furry community that use bots to steal paid content, and it just came out of hand, something needs to be done about it. I'm still not quite happy that I can't always provide enough special rewards for each tier, because of the nature of artwork, some times there is just no "nsfw versions" or "sketches", as you spend much time drawing one big sfw picture, I'm open to suggestions about that!

Well, I hope I did not tire you out with this huge wall of bad english(don't worry, for the big comic project, i'm going to find people who will help me fix it) xD Will see you soon with new artwork! <3

Hello, friends!

So, you've probably recieved an email from patreon, regarding to changes in how the fees from pledges are being processed. I know, some people haven't got that email yet, but basically, before that change all the fees except VAT were deducted from the creator, including 5% flat patreon fee and all the payment systems transfer and currency convertion fees, so the creator would lose up to 7-15% from each pledge even before payout(makes me wonder actually, where that 15% comes from). So, now they are going to "streamline" that, by adding a flat fee(2.9%+$0.35) to the patrons and have their own cut on the creator floating from zero to 5%, ensuring that the creator will recieve 95% of your pledges all the time.

This .. sounds good on paper.. But in fact is quite disturbing, and I strongly disapprove that myself. I'm totally fine with paying all the fees myself, I don't care if I "take home" less than 95%, as long as my patrons are happy with the system, because you make all that happen, without you, there would be nothing at all, and any percent of a zero is a zero still xD But what can we do? Despite of saying that they've come with "thoughtfulness for creators and patrons", this was dropped as a complete surprise upon us. Right now, there is a heated discussion at their closed creators forum, with hundres of creators including myself expressing their disapproval.

Right now I can't just change the rewards amount to compensate for the new fee, i'd have to delete them all completely and make new ones leaving you all unsubscribed to any reward tier, then you'd have to subscribe to new versions manually. This is ugly x))) Well, i'd like to hear your thoughts on the subject too. For now I think we should wait, until the later december at least. The negative feedback from the creators' community is strong, and perhaps they will scratch the idea even before the next payment occurs.

This is how the payment is going to change for you, if this new system goes live:

1) $1 --> $1.38

2) $5 --> $5.49

3) $10 --> $10.64

4) $25 --> $26

5) $200 --> $206.15

Yes, it looks like i've had my first goal completed! Another month is coming to an end, and I would like to share with you, how it's all been! :D

As many of you may know, i've lost my house in a fire last year, and we're building a new one slowly at the moment, all by myself and my old dad, it does take quite a lot of time and strength, but the good news are that the construction is moving steadily, we've just finished all the concrete jobs there up to the roof, and ready for the winter. It's getting cold here and a thick layer of snow has just fell yesterday, all that means i'm free from housebuilding jobs until the spring. I have also quit my part-time job as an IT-support, and do not regret it, it was all a bit too much of a stress.

Ok, that's the general situation about real life, but what's about artwork? At the moment i'm studying a book that should improve my coloring quality, "Color and Light by James Gurney"(man I wish it was in paper though), realistic lighting and shadows are among my weaker skills. Also there was a course of studying wet surfaces/reflections for my dolphin project. And I hope to finish a picture or two more in these last few days of october. Next month I will be focusing on finishing my work in progress projects and going to move my commissions backlog up a slot or two. There was a change in reward tiers here last month, you have a discount on my commissions and YCHs now. Well, that's it for now, friends! :D *goes back to the tablet*

First few weeks of september were rough for me. Real life troubles piled up, and i've had a fever on top of that(won't go away yet, just can't afford to stay home and heal properly). It wasn't something unusual to come back home at 2-4am too... And also i've started too many big projects at once, all that caused a long time period with no new release art. This is not good x) I should sort out my priorities and focus on single pictures at once... But i'm glad you all are still with me! Thank you, friends! The month of august is coming to an end, and i'd like to share with you, what's going on in my artwork! This was a fruitful month overall...

* 5 solid give-away pictures.

* 2 big detailed pictures, "Akany and Sypher" and "August special". This august special picture has raised the bar for them, they were supposed to be some sort of speed-art just for fun. So, i'm probably going to update the july one, if i'm ever going to make a calendar out of them(it has had a sneaky mini update/bugfix, go ckeck it out).

* Also new projects were started! 2 solid WIPs with colors and fine outline were done and uploaded here - "dolphin and dragoness" and "Bitey the doe", they should be finished in september.

* "The scalepaint dragoness" is on the works too! All the story/layout is already done, and many rough sketchwork for her, i'm going to tell her story in a new way, like i've never done before.

* There is also a mini comic with kobolds in the works, started recently, so far there are sketches of the characters design, you will see them in WIPs section early.

* Oh, and don't forget the "Petting the dragoness" picture, it was actually a big change, the entire body was changed from the scratch, and new shading was made, I will probably add some more deep shadows there for the release, and more detailed ... bits xD

I did not forget the studies too! Spent some time refining my anatomy knowledge, and "Sybiene the dragoness" picture has appeared. Tried to learn new ways of lighting on the "august special" picture. And finally have had the time to upgrade my software.

I had to shuffle rewards tiers to compensate for free art raffle loss. I'm still a bit agry at patreon rules for that. I did love the idea to give something personal back to you guys. Maybe we can cheat the system somehow, like I would ask you "suggest me a character, and i'm going to pick the one I like and draw it", available for all the tiers, including $1 - see, there is no "gambling" element involved xD (of course there will be some failsafe flexible rules, so everyone would have a real chance)

This dolphin was supposed to be some sort of artifically enhanced, intelligent species, maybe even have bionic implants, that didn't make through sketchwork (yet). Maybe i'll leave him as it is. I always liked dolphins, it's time to make them appear in my artwork, I guess x)

Some doe character i've designed many years ago, she didn't go beyond underdesk rough sketchwork though, until now. You may suggest the name and background theme here :)

Hello, friends! I've found out that i'm a silly purple dragon, and apparently it's against the site rules to host a raffle. So, what i'm going to do.

* I will turn August raffle into a give-away, just like July was! Everyone, who would reply to this post, will get a personal picture!

* Tere will no longer be free art give-away months, August will be the last, but instead, i'm going to move $50 content down to $25 and delete the $50 tier completely(not like it was a popular tier anyways, haha)

* All the tier-5 posts are converted to tier-4 now.

Well, that's it. Pity, that I can't do raffles, I liked them, a way to give out commissions for people without all the commission burden. But we gotta follow the rules... I had to delete the 5th tier because there is just not enough content for both of them, shifting the give-away to 5th tier would just essentially make it a perma-open commission slot, and leaving it there in 4th tier would stress me out too much...

As you may have noticed, I got carried away with those, they went beyond simple b&w sketches they were supposed to be(especially this last one, but I had my reasons)...

It's ok, though, I think i'll keep doing that, adding pale colors and sketchy shades and maybe more if I feel like it. It all makes them more interesting, and they do not take too much time overall. :)
