I wanted to give you an update on some changes that we’ll be seeing which may affect some of your pledges. Due to new laws passing in several countries and US states, Patreon will be required to start charging sales tax on some pledges starting July 1st.

Less than half of all patrons will be charged sales tax, and for most, the amount will be very small. For example, sales tax rates in the US range from 4% to 11%, so on a $5 pledge, that would be between 20 cents and 55 cents.

Whether or not you will be charged sales tax depends on your location, and what is considered taxable there. Not every pledge is taxable, not all benefits are taxable in every location, and sometimes only a fraction of a pledge will be taxable. The money that Patreon collects as a result of these laws are paid directly to local governments.

I’m working closely with Patreon to ensure I’m able to save you as much money as possible when it comes to sales tax - which is not something that’s possible with other platforms.

If you’re in a location where sales tax will be required, you should expect to receive an email from Patreon with more information about this very soon, but I wanted to make sure you were aware of these changes way ahead of July 1st when they go into effect.

Angie helped me build a new desktop PC, either by sending me parts or paying for others. But wanting to keep the new tower off the floor and not really having the space, I got a new L-shaped desk. Then I needed some new shelves since I have things I wanted to put up. I just got those this week. So here they are! This feels much less cramped and easier to work with.

Of course, now that I have things how I like them, my parents ask me to petsit at their house this next week. They're driving to Iowa. (Yes. I've told them there's a pandemic. They don't listen to me. They just impose.)

Anyway.

We've just reached the first goal for my campaign this month! So I will be releasing the first page or two for my Chasing Magic comic. Which has been on hold for a while. Things are really starting to pick up for me lately. And it's all thanks to you and my clients! I will start setting aside a few days a month to work on a page, I will stream those also.

Been working a bit more on this one. :)

This was all the things I should have posted since January. Sorry for not posting these regularly. Just kinda been having a little bit of a rough time lately. I'm trying to keep up with everything. I'll try to do better.

Angie was supposed to fly in March 21st and start looking around for a job here while she spent time with me, since she'd rather be with me a warm climate. I don't care we end up, as long as we're together.

But then Coronavirus happened. She works at a hospital up in St. John's, Newfoundland as their IT. So she's been setting up clinics and such. My anxiety is up since she's at higher risk because of her work. And also, my dad is being flown home from Iraq. Since he's a contractor over 60 years old.

I'm just trying to remain calm while I feel helpless since the only thing I can do is self-isolate. (Which everyone should be doing. but this is Florida. So people are more worried about "mah freedums", than staying home and not killing other people with disease.)

So here's some sad vent art.

Stay safe everyone. Be thankful for your medical professionals and other critical people. Wash your hands! Don't touch your face! Practice social distancing! You all should know this by now!

I've usually done the private sketch streams on every second Sunday of the month. But with my marriage and my birthday coming up on the 9th, I've decided to delay.

I plan to resume taking hourly commission slots on September 10th (I'll post those hours on FA on the 8th).

Magi-of-TF and Jero of FA won my YCH the other month and I've worked to incorporate their characters into this.

I had a lot of fun working on this though it was quite a bit. lol

From now on though, I'll likely only sketch up one or two page YCH comics and maybe some single poses to be bid on.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with how it all turned out. :)

I just want to get an idea of how satisfied with this campaign. And if there's anything I should do to improve your experience. Do you think you're getting your money's worth on whatever tier you're on. Should I add more? Is there anything you'd like added. Is there anything you've seen here before that you'd like more of. Or something another campaign is doing that you might like?

I'd appreciate if anyone has time to leave feedback here and I'll try to improve my campaign as best I can.

I was contacted by the admins of Texas Furry Fiesta to do this piece as an add backdrop for next years con.

And they really liked it, but I guess there was a miscommunication. They're going to use it for something else. Before they approved it, they had me replace Reunion Tower with the moon (attached below) to avoid trademark issues. Which is unfortunate since I think that part came out so well.

I really liked how the whole thing came out actually. ^_^ And I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in a while.

Since I liked the design of Isabelle in the comic I just finished, I decided to sketch some more of her, and then I drifted into drawing some Midna to fill the page. Because I like some thick thighs. :3

A larger commission I've been working on. I'll be doing the colors over the next few days. But I'm really happy how this is turning out. ^_^

Because it's only been nine years since this was a thing.

Something else I've been doing lately is learning some new recipes and having some fun in the kitchen.

This was originally a traditional Scottish Oatcake recipe. But I added dried cranberries and peanuts. Giving them a bit more flavor.

I think think they turned out great. I have a couple of them with a piece of fruit and coffee or tea n the morning. They're carry me pretty well to lunch and may a good snack.

They last about a week on the shelf in an airtight container.

I've been practicing some shading and watching other artists on Picarto and how they work (CoraBlue, Jazzy, and others) because I like how they do shading and skin tone. And I think it's starting to pay off. I'm wondering if I balanced the colors right or if I went overboard on some blurring and other effects. But otherwise, I'm pleased how this looks. ^_^

I'm wondering if you all can help me out and try the above link and tell me what you get.

I used to be able to go to this link by going to "Settings > Email Settings" in the menu on the left. This would allow me to set email notifications for each creator I was subscribed to. All I get now, and for the past month is a white screen. I've tried this on multiple machines and multiple browsers with the same results.

I contacted @PatreonSupport on Twitter and I tried incognito mode at their suggestion and got the same white screen. I then submitted a trouble ticket. I haven't heard back in over a week.

Is it just me seeing this problem?

I'd like to start practicing more animation. Some things like 10 seconds long. So I'd like to start by polling you all for suggestions. I'll choose the one I like most.

I always have fun doing these. That's why I want to continue to do this. I'm glad I got the chance to do some skin tone with a few of these. ^_^

I had been optimistic that I could continue as I was living solely off commissions and providing Patreon content. But it's become increasingly clear that I've been naive about this. I just don't have the fan or client base to do so. It seems I've exhausted all the clients I've had with commissions and they no longer have work for me. And in working almost solely on commissions 10-12 hours a day, I haven't had time to work on Patreon content. My commission queue is looking thinner and thinner and with less major paying projects to work on. It might be a time management or advertising problem on my part. Something I'm missing or something that was never there for me to begin with.

So I'm applying to a job placement agency. I'll probably go back into telecommunications. I'm hoping I can find something that pays better than my previous jobs. Hopefully without working nights. We'll see. If I can find something good that can pay my bills, I'll be shutting down commissions completely and working solely on personal art in my spare time, if I have any.

I still want to do the monthly stream for my patrons no matter how this goes. I'll keep open the 1, 3, and 5 dollar tiers for those that want to keep supporting my work. But I'll shut down the 10 and 20 dollar ones once I find employment.

With it looking like it's gonna be another year or two till I can move to Canada to be with Angie, It'll be best to find something more stable anyway. I do appreciate all of you that have supported me here and through commission work. I am very grateful to you all.

I'll still take commissions till I can find employment, and continue to work on them till I close and I'll devote my time off to finish them all till they're all done.

So the downside will be no commissions, but the upside will be more personal content hopefully.

I'd been wanting to draw fan art of her since I had seen Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (the newest BBC America series). It only got two seasons, but it was a lot of fun and Farah Black was my favorite character. I've been getting through the radio plays also. It was created by Douglas Adams and I love his writing style.

I really want to draw some more monochrome work like this. It's a lot of fun.

This is my half of a collaboration I'm working on with BobbyBob on FA using their premise of a transformative virus.

It involves a mouse TFTG with shrinking causing a lot of their problems. The comic is rated R mostly for some nudity.

I've been having a lot of weirdly vivid dreams lately. Last night was one as this black jack rabbit girl. I was hanging out with Yondu from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. He kept calling me rat. And I was like their runner. He said "Go get 'em, rat.", I gave chase at someone and ended up tackling and grappling them. I've been trying to write or or doodle this stuff down so I don't forget. They're fun. :) I remember this outfit and design mostly.

ADDITION 17/12/2018: I'm not sure if I'll do anything more with this idea, but I added two sketched comic pages I was compelled to draw out. It was just a very vivid dream. lol

Was streaming with General-Irrelevant from FA and decided to sketch up one of their characters, Guacamole Dip in a festive elf outfit. :)

I'm working on a collaboration with BobbyBob on FurAffinity. I'm having a lot of fun with this one so this is the first six pages I've got sketched up so far. There will be more editing on these before I finish them.

It's based off a viral trigger that BobbyBob has come up with. SHAGA stands for Syndrome of Human Artificial Alteration. More details about the virus and the setting will unfold later in the comic.

Almost done with this one. It'll be finished this week. So they had a delayed Halloween party. >_>;

I've got a script worked out, so I've started the rough draft of the comic. :)

After deciding on the final character design for the body, I was messing with some different hairstyles and a couple costumes. I'm kinda enjoying this character and I'm already thinking about follow-ups. I have the script written out for about 10 pages of this initial comic though. ^_^ I'm going with 5 by the end of the transformation. But in epilogue I'm imagining her getting something more practical. The outfit in 2 would be improvised from her old clothes and the one in 3 would be after getting a more fitting wardrobe.
