Terror and monstrosity in a form that is elegant, rather than hideous. A form that is incredibly alien without drawing excessive attention to that fact. There are no strange spikes or slimy exposed flesh, at a glance, the exterior looks rather plain, even comfortably familiar. But when you get past the bipedal tetrapod base, you start to notice some strangeness. The way the legs are jointed, though it appears digitigrade at a glance, is not. The number of digits isn't just an act of artistic laziness, but a design element. The mouth requires prey to be swallowed whole, like a frog or snake, yet the body is still somewhat compact. It would be fascinating to see what a sergal looks like on a dissection table.
