So, the TF thread in the Furry Comics board (where it really probably shouldn't go, considering how few of those are comics) now has more than 1100 images in it. The thread has repeatedly been forced to close due to its massive size, and now takes quite a bit of time for all of the images to load.

Might it be time for a TF board? I already know it'd see more action than some of the boards that currently exist, and honestly, there are enough varieties of TF that some distinct threads might help a lot in finding what the users want. (Also, I think Trollwololf already made a pic for for it a while back. It's in the current thread somewhere.)

Thank you for your consideration on this matter.

...or you could, I don't know, separate them by (to pick something completely off the top of my head) sex, and then we could easily fit them on the already existing boards. Male (transformation), Female (transformations), and Herm for everything in-between. I wonder why no one has thought of this before.

hey! It even solves your problem of only one crowded thread by spreading it out, and best of all, you wouldn't have to ask for another pointless board that will in all likeliness have 5 threads. saving a moderator some time in making it.

TL;DR why are you guys incapable of using the resources already available to you?

Oooooor, we could have a board for male TF, female TF, herm TF, anthro TF, non-anthro TF, inanimate TF, TF comics, TF one-shots, and so on and so forth. You know, rather than people needing to go from board to board to board seeking out what they enjoy. And they do enjoy it, as evidenced by the great popularity of all TF threads, past and current alike.

Or do you think that paw fetish, flashes, pokemon, my little pony, and all the other boards need to be spread about and only the gender boards should remain? If so, sucks to be you; looks like the moderators disagree with you.

Maybe you should focus a little more on progressive thinking, instead of championing moderators who don't need it like a derpy white knight.

I did.
And i know about the massive reply´s on the TF threat.
I suggested this board because TF pictures wouldn´t belong on the Comic board.
Another story, On the Comic Board was an older TF threat but it was deleted. (comic board)
There were like 1000 picures on that thread too.

Just no...
Why Spreading TF art all over the boards?
Would be hard to search and annoying for the ones who don´t wanna see TF art. (it´s all over the place if so)

Indeed sir,

you really think this place needs more boards? what, the existing ones aren't dead enough for you?

i wish this place would go back to a single board just so it would actually move from time to time. it's never had enough traffic to support more than one board.
>> No. 3710 ID: 34a458

More board? No. Replace boards? Yes!
This place is dead, why would that be?
I'm not sure about you guy's but i'll say it's because nothing happens in here.
The TF board would be a refreshing thing for instance, and maybe an site loadout refreshment if the owner of Paws got some spare time for it.
I feel bad that everybody moved to other boards on other website while paws can handle this itself. ~with a bit of effort.
I just want to keep this site up.

Actually, if memory serves, we're on TF thread number...three? now. They become so gigantic and unwieldy that they have to be closed (or so I've been led to believe). It's that very reason that I think we should have a TF board: separating it out into its component concepts should create - rather than one enormous and impossible-to-manage thread - a number of smaller, more easily readable threads.

You appear to agree, and this pleases me.

>>3709

I see activity here on a fairly frequent basis; I'm not seeing this deadness you're talking about.

---

>>3711

If Captcha is enough of a post deterrent to stop people from frequenting a site, then the site is dead whether or not Captcha is implemented. Fortunately, that's not the case here.

Oh please.
¨lack of posting¨... Wasnt i talking about what couses this??? instead of going a step forward youre going a step back.
I know. no Posts. No active Website. Duh.
that´s why were talking in the first place arent we?
--
Is a poll really necessary?
It´s not that something happens on this place anymore.
The comic Board is going great.
Paws,Discussion, Female and male are going well.
If we should replace something it would be Pokemon if you ask me.
I like PKMN but, it are sort of animals and we can sort them under the boards we already have i hope.
The question would be, why not a extra board without deleting other one.
It arent that much boards right?

then you must not have been around back when this site was just /paws/

some of these boards don't get any posts for days and days. the only place with any life these days is /fc/
>> No. 3717 ID: c49191

this is very true

those nerds who raided us won, instead of setting the site up properly so it can't be wiped the administrators continue to punish all the regular users with reCaptcha.

the raiders who wiped our boards are long gone and we're still dealing with the fallout.

God, I know! What a nightmare, right? I mean, if I want to post something, I have to - oh god, I'm getting the shakes just thinking about it, give me a second here...

Okay. Okay, I can do this. If I want to post something, I have to...

READ TWO WORDS AND THEN TYPE THEM.

Urgh...oh god, it hurts, it hurts so much! Every time I have to think about such a Herculean undertaking, it makes the bile rise up and my body rebels against me. I nearly vomited three times typing that!

It's a wonder we get any posts at all, ever.
>> No. 3719 ID: c49191
>>3718
you're dumb as hell

typing it once for one post is nothing

what if you wanted to post 500 pictures to a thread?

kind of irritating at that point. the captcha is why i don't regularly dump tons of my collection on this site anymore and i'm sure others feel the same
>> No. 3721 ID: ddcdff
Well I can turn Captcha off so far it seems okay as in no issues of spam. Knocking on wood as all it takes is one asshole to ruin it all again. The site can only be backed up by Bart and that usually only happens every couple of months now(I try to remind him to do so.)

If you really want Captcha off I will turn it off for now. I will only announce that it will be turned off here in this thread.

Also I will make a TF board if it will make you happy. Just didn't expect it to be so popular.
>> No. 3737 ID: c49191

i do really want captcha off, but replaced with a proper defense against spam and raids. just taking it off puts us back to where we were before the boards got wiped, which is fine until someone notices and cares enough to organize another raid.

either greatly increase the timer between creating new threads, or turn on new thread premoderation, or take more regular backups so if things get hosed it's trivial to restore the content.

it's not that hard to set up a webserver to do automatic backups, bart doesn't even have to be involved past the initial setup
>> No. 3740 ID: 4cd952
spam is already been going on past 10 days ive banned an deleted twenty or more spam posts for various anime henti child porn sites just now i did it for u18chan an 4 posts from them

nice as no capatcha is its asking for trouble
>> No. 3744 ID: c49191

while that's true there are solutions to the problem that don't affect good users.
>> No. 3746 ID: 3b700a
I'm certainly no expert but is it possible to keep captcha off in just one board?

As I understand it, Captcha is only really annoying for users if they want to "dump" content.

Why not just make a "Dumping" Board without captcha. Every thread that is not a dump could be delted/ignored by the users.

Then people can just post the thread Number with a link (something something imageboard idontknowimastupidlurker) in the thread that is intended for the dump. (win?)
>> No. 3747 ID: c49191
yes, that's how it is now. some boards have it enabled, others don't.

the issue is without a captcha it's trivial for a computer program to spam a bunch of new threads and push all the content off the boards so it gets deleted.

this happened here a few times and that's why the captcha is still on.

so the problem is how do you make it easy for good posters to add stuff without making it easy for bad posters to cause problems?

the captcha is one answer since you defeat the automatic flooding and it's only annoying at worst.

another solution is make it so you can't flood a bunch of new threads. the board already has a configurable delay between new threads, making that really long doesn't really hurt anyone. most of the time you want to post a lot in a single thread, not post a bunch of threads at once. or, there's another feature where moderators have to approve every new thread. it's more work for the staff but it'd do the trick.

and yet another answer (the one i'd prefer) is no restrictions on posting at all, but regular (like daily) backups. the server could be setup to automatically take backups and delete older ones to save space, then if something goes bad you just hit the panic button and roll it back.

people that attack websites want a reaction, if they do all their planning and work and their attack evaporates the second a mod notices they'll get bored and look for a weaker target.
>> No. 3748 ID: c49191

and while your idea isn't bad (sorry for ignoring it i got off on a tangent) i think it would be better for the life of the boards if things were set up so it was easier to post on all of them. concentrating everything into one board and then linking to it kind of defeats the purpose of having multiple boards

and to the mods reading this i'm just ranting about stuff i think about, please don't take this the wrong way. you are all great and do fine and i appreciate this place
>> No. 3769 ID: c49191
by the way foxcroft, if we're running without the captcha mind turning it off on /m/ too?
