You could either not say anything at all or you could leave a comment saying something like, "all that top notch." Be like Ned Flanders, is kind of what I'd say. Don't say something like, "Holy ****, maybeastarbucks, this ****in' video was really a major piece of ****!" That is not nice.
One of the bad things about the internet is that you can't really convey sarcasm. You may intend to be sarcastic, but it comes off as rude. Here are some helpful hints so that people know you're being sarcastic: you could say something like "Sarcasm Alert!" or end the sentence with (!), which I just learned is the international symbol for sarcasm... also smileys could help, i. e. :#), ;), >_>.
If you don't like a user you don't have to say anything. In fact, never say anything to them. You don't have to go about leaving comments like, "maybeastarbucks is a jerk! Don't talk to him!" If you've got a problem with me simply don't speak with me. It's pretty simple.

Rating Content
Rating content is important... very very important.
It helps others get medals, and we all like medals right? Just look at your medals (if you have any). None of those things would've happened if it wasn't for ratings. Rating is so simple, I don't see why you wouldn't do it - unless you're not a member of fanpop (which is strange). You even get a nice little medal at the top of your profile for all to see. I know of times props have been given for rating lots of content. Hmmmmm... let's review: rating can result in you getting medals and props and a nice little glowing medal at the top of your screen. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. Ratings are what make the world go 'round.
What if there were no ratings? There'd be no medals. Somewhat less props. Maybe I would post an image of something and you hate it. You don't just hate it, you can't stand it. The sight of it makes you nauseous. You can give it one stars out of five. If there were no ratings I wouldn't know what you really though about it and I could post 50 more images just like it, and they would be plastered all over the homepage night and day, and you'd hate it. If you ask me, rating content is a great thing.

Making a Pick
Many other articles have been written on how to make a pick - including a couple by me. I might as well touch on it here.
Picks are fantastic. I love picks, a lot. Picks let us know what others think. The important thing (in my opinion) to remember when making a pick is this: Don't ask a question you already know the answer to. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Don't ask a question in the Lost Spot like, "Is Lost a good show?" Duh. If you're in the Lost Spot, then I'm pretty sure people are going to think it's a good show because they're in the Lost Spot...
Repeat picks are what make me cry. I know they're inevitable in some spots that have a ton of picks, but you know... we just have to be forgiving. If someone makes a repeat pick then don't say, "You idiot! This question was already asked." Be kind (see above.) I know that occasionally good people kind of explode. I've seen it happen where someone who is so nice can just smack someone, but if you're "exploding" in every comment you leave, then that's just kind of sad...

Creating a Spot
When creating a spot it is important to make sure that that spot doesn't already exist. Also, you should add images. As nice as the default fanpop "f" and banner look it looks even nicer to see an image that conveys what that spot is all about.
Don't just make a spot and leave it to die. When you make a spot post a few videos, images, links. Make some picks. Maybe start a forum. This will draw in several fans because picks, images, videos, links, and forums all appear on the homepage.

Image Credits
Give credit to your images if at all humanly possible. For instance, if you get an image off of Wikipedia tell people. That section was put there for a reason. If you absolutely don't know where the image came from or you made the image yourself then it's okay to leave it blank, but if all humanly possibly give credit. How would you feel if you created the coolest image ever and posted it on your personal blog or webpage and a couple days later it appeared on fanpop without your website's name under the Image Credit section? You might feel pretty crappy...

Writing a Soapbox
