This is my first time drawing
furry. I'd like to get an opinion on it and I'd like to see you guy's firsts.

The first picture you drew. The first thing you saw that got you into furry. Those types of things...

It's bad.
But you already knew that.

Study + Draw humans (in all their anatomical glory) for a very long time. Then Study + Draw dogs/cats/animal of choice (in all their anatomical glory) for a decent amount of time. Also lighting, colour, perspective, (maybe) composition, all the things relevant to the trade of artistry (You may choose to do these while drawing furries)
After several hundred hours of doing all, use what you have learnt to draw furries (which should come painlessly), using your fundamental skills at drawing to expand your creative horizons and stylize as you please.

Then you can start posting your art on boards like this, asking for advice.

i think its pretty awesome for a first time drawing. Good job mate

I think it's very good for your first time. Don't listen to the trolls on here. If u want true opinions i suggest furaffinity or sofurry to post your art.

Yeahhhhhno. You shouldn't have to draw humans and real animals first. You COULD go that way, but many good fur artists didn't. Now, studying poses of humans, oh yes. You can buy drawing books that describe how to work with perspective in poses and how to make realistic poses. These will be helpful. Or go sketch real people. But you don't necessarily have to be an expert at humans first.

That, honestly, is a great effort for a first try. I've seen many artists start with really awful stuff-- and keep drawing said awful stuff for years before they began to slowly get better.

Wow.I can't believe that's your first furry.

I love that little party girl. She really cool except for her left leg which looks a little gamey, other than that it a really good start.

>>1634
Yeah but you can only post pictures made with the Shi-painter on drawfags.
I sometimes think that maybe pawsru could use a traditional art/critique board.

I suppose we should ask administration to allow posting pictures in /draw/

you can't post pictures in draw, you have to draw the thing with the built in painter to post there
>> No. 1680 ID: c49191
oh, like the guy said TWO POSTS above me. fuck

anyway its pointless to ask to change that board, that board has its purpose. this is the right board for this thread.

god people are so sickeningly over positive... if you tell people their awful art is good they won't be motivated to improve

and if you don't spend a lot of time learning to draw humans and animals well you'll always be an awful furry artist and there's no shortage of awful furry art. if you want to draw, please take the time to learn how to do it right. the human figure is one of the most complex and difficult subjects, if you just take shortcuts and slurp up all the compliments from people saying nice things to spare your feelings like 99% of the rest of the community you will never, ever improve.

if you're okay with that and you just want a bunch of compliments from sycophants, well, i guess you're free to do so. if you want to be able to draw, suck it up and study and practice and practice and practice and ask talented artists to tear your work apart so you know what you have to fix.

I'm okay with any type of opinion. If I was afraid of someone saying that my drawing is shit, I wouldn't have posted in the first place.

I'm not an idiot. Just because a few people on the internet say that they like my drawing doesn't mean I'm going to stop practicing.

That board should allow postig pictures ooutside shi-painter, it's about drawing, no built-in program.
>> No. 1684 ID: e71a0f
And administrations might actually listen to you.

It's all about constructive criticism, coming out and saying you suck and you should give up don't help anyone. But telling someone their art is fantastic when they've clearly got a long way to go doesn't help ether. If someone's young and just starting out there's no use in telling to study anatomy it's far too complicated start out with.

>>1683
There's no use in change drawfags. To change drawfags so it would beable to post other content there would mean changeing the very scipt of the board. As it is drawfags is the one un-spamble board on paws that the mods don't need to worry about.
Drawfags is supposed to be a Oekaki board i don't blame anyone one if they don't what that is i recommend googling.
