As for myself, they're ruined because the lines are not crisp, the shading is often blotchy like someone spilled water on it, and the colour is waaaaaay oversaturated.

I don't give a rat's ass if it's an edit, as long as it isn't a terrible one. I've gladly saved edits in the past. But the "HD" ones that guy keeps posting are just bad in almost every way, and are so far removed from the original that reverse image searches to find the original are often fruitless.
