He knew he wasn't likely to go pro when all was said and done - so he needed to take advantage of his skill now, to get himself through college and into the real world. There was a small problem, though... The scholarship wasn't a full ride. Sure, it covered most of his tuition - but not all of it. And it didn't help at all with room and board. His parents were no help at all - they had stopped caring about him and his choices the moment he came home with his first boyfriend. He's pretty sure that if they knew what hashtags were, they'd have used #notmyson in one of their Facebook groups complaining about "kids these days". All that to say, he'd have no help from them. And loans weren't something he really wanted to get saddled with. He had enough saved from his job during high school that he was fine for a bit, but he needed to find income somewhere - and between school work and soccer, he had little time to spare. Already he was finding himself rationing his meals - taking some food back from the cafeteria to his dorm, despite it not being allowed. Other students had laptops and the newest cell phones - Finley had to make use of the library computers when he couldn't borrow his dorm mate's laptop. And while he had a "car", it barely could be called that considering it took 10 minutes to start and he'd be lucky if it made it 10 miles. He knows that if he didn't find something by the end of this semester, he'd end up completely running out of money. He was on his way back from practice, his mind reeling with trying to figure out his money situation, when he saw the poster on the bulletin board just outside his dorm hall. "Models Wanted - No Experience Necessary - Easy Money!" The headline of the poster caught his attention, and there was a photo of what he assumed was another student - an Otter that Finley was pretty sure was on the swim team (cliche', sure - but he was a Border Collie who chases balls around, so he had no room to talk). Finely noted the "auditions" time and location that was at the bottom of the poster, and realized that it was... well, NOW. Starting in 15 minutes. And was halfway across campus. He pondered taking that as a sign that it wasn't meant to be... but decided that, no, he needed to try. 25 minutes later a hot, sweaty Finely was knocking on the door to another dorm room not too unlike his own - apparently, these auditions were being held by a fellow student. The door opened a few seconds later, and the eyes of a tall horse were looking down on the sweaty, panting Finley. Before Finley could utter a sound, the horse reached out, and with a surprisingly strong grip, grasped the front of Finley's shirt, hoisting him into the room. "You're hired." The horse cut him off before taking hold of the front of Finley's shirt and pulling him into the dorm room, a gasp coming from the border collie's lips as the surprise kept him from being able to react. The horse's grip was strong, and kept Finley from falling to the floor. After being pulled in, he was pushed towards a side of the room where two others (who he couldn't identify right away as things were happening so fast) were sitting on a couch, "Sit with the others while I finish interviewing the hopefuls" Apparently, Finley bypassed that part of the interview.. . (that's the end of the story for now. I might continue it another time when revisiting Finley. Let me know if you liked the start of it (I know it's not much)! Edit on 2/24: I uploaded new self suck pics, as I kept coming back to and not loving the body proportions (or lack thereof) of the previous pictures. The old ones will be put in scraps if you want to still check them out. Also fixed a finger issue on the picture of him leaning forward with the ball on the ground. Parameters were updated for new ones as well.
