Pain. It never a fun thing. Unless you’re into that, I guess. Here I was in the middle of an ally way. I had gotten beat up to the point where I feel like I can’t function anymore. My life flashed before my life. It was a really bad decision to go up against a mob boss. Thud was the only loudest sound that could be heard as I barely made my way to the sidewalk. This is it. This is the end. Or was it? I started having a tingling sensation throughout my body. Is this death? I don’t know. I’m not dead yet. Then I notice a light in the corner of my eye. “That’s different.” I lift up what I thought where my blue fox paws only to have turn blinding bright white. “That’s also different,” I said before passing out. It was the next day. I opened my eyes and realized that I was in a bed. The bed sheets felt really close to my fur and I looked noticed that I was naked. “Ahh!” I yelled in horror, heart pounding, as I wondered where the hell I was at. I checked under the blankets again and noticed that I was somewhat smaller and my fur had a sand-like color. I grabbed my ear with one hand, holding onto the blanket with the next and noticed it was bigger then my head. “Why am I a fennec?” “Hi,” said a soft but fairly muscling sounding voice. I looked over, turning my eyes, frozen in a somewhat frightened and embarrassed state. Dog, black on dark gray fur with floppy ears. Collie? Shy, judging by their arm closely wrapped around their other hand. “H-hi.” “C-can I come in?” I nodded, confused. “Your place?” “Kind of,” he said. “It’s my parents until I get myself a proper job.” The collie looked over at my clothes. “Those are pretty big clothes for a Fennec to be wearing.” “… Yeah,” I nodded again. “Who are you?” The collie asked. “And why the big clothes? And why were in the middle of an ally?” “Um,” I looked up trying to come up at the ceiling, grinding my teeth, trying to come up with a rational answer then back at the collie with an awkward grin. “It’s a long story.”
