The second in this group of three siblings, he is the explorer, the pioneer of the family. Every location the siblings ever dug a home in was first discovered and scouted by Chester.\n\nIf there is one brother in the trio able to take measured, rational decisions, it is him. He finds locations that are close to other species Bernard can trade with, but also defensible, easily protected by his warrior brother Eddie, and always with escape routes into the wild, where the siblings can run and start anew if necessary. When he finds something the other two need to see, he leads them there and leaves them to their business. Like Bernard, he is non-confrontational. Like Eddie, he is fast and crafty.\n\nAnd he knows how to mix exploration with pleasure. For example, in the outskirts of one of the human towns the siblings lived in, he had discovered a farm.
