"Because she is!" Tay said, sitting down in a huff. "I bet she even..." Tay started to tear up, "...I bet she even threw away the turtle I gave her..." Hearing this, Izzy's heart sank lower than ever. The turtle, the little green flocked turtle. She couldn't even remember where she had put it. Wow, she thought, she WAS as terrible as Tay was saying.
More silence at the table.
"You guys doing okay over here?" Mrs. Johnson asked kindly to the group. Izzy and Jules smiled up at her.
"We're doing good, thank you!" Izzy said watching Mrs. Johnson smile and walk off.
"That's it. We're splitting up into Boys vs Girls!" Tay said, gathering his cards back up.
"Tay, that's not how this activity works." Izzy said.
"It is now! I'm in control of it!" Tay growled.
"Tay, listen, this is crazy! Calm down! We can talk about this!" Izzy pleaded with the unmoving dingo boy. Izzy could see Scooter sitting uncomfortably next to Tay, confused on what was happening. Izzy felt sorry for Scooter and him being in the dark over what was going on. Izzy felt heartbreak all over again.
But then, something happened. Something about looking at Jules dutifully writing down the conversation made the dingo girl say to herself 'No, I will not do this. I've cried plenty already. This is all stupid and Tay, I will win you back. I'm NOT letting you go.'
"Scooter..." she said, turning to the scared skunkbunny, "...Tay and I were dating and we recently broke up, but please don't tell anyone." Scooter’s eyes got huge, as did everyone else's in the group. Tay stared at her.
"How many people do ya wanna know about that?!" Tay said. Izzy shrugged.
"It wasn't really fair to keep Scooter in the dark like that, so..." Izzy said. Tay huffed into his seat again, crossing his arms. Izzy smiled deviously and grabbed Scooter’s card stack from his frozen paws, finding the 'canyon' card and placing it on top. "Scooter, read your question." Scooter looked at her weird and took the card into his paw.
"Canyon. Who has... the largest b-body of water?"
"Ocean." Jules said, quickly writing the last thing then grabbing her cards. "Who has... oh wow..." Jules said, smiling. The group leaned in.
"What?" Izzy asked. Jules smiled.
"Who has a piece of land that is surrounded by water on 3 sides?"
"Just like the example, heh. Wonder why they used it as an example if everyone would then know the answer." Izzy said, feeling the vibes of the table begin to shift.
"I dunno. It's kinda dumb." Jules said. The table kind of laughed. Izzy was feeling better. She looked across at her brother pouting as she heard Scooter having peninsula and continuing the activity. She looked at Tay with adoration and she felt like anything Tay was doing was kind of cute, all over again. A strong sense of hope overcame Izzy as words ran through her head.
